- 0:03Dearly beloved,
- 0:04we are gathered here today to talk about
- 0:06this thing called CrossFit.
- 0:08Let's go crazy.
- 0:21I love the chase and the hunt,
- 0:22and I set the pace when I'm running.
- 0:24I always take what I'm wanting,
- 0:25I always give it one hundred.
- 0:27Don't need a bank, no I'm funded.
- 0:28Play the game like it's nothing.
- 0:30I'm always thankful for something.
- 0:31Don't take for granted, stay humble.
- 0:33Now wake up!
- 0:34It's time to look at the enemy.
- 0:36Look in the mirror if he is no
- 0:38friend to me.
- 0:39It's not working out,
- 0:41maybe it's the chemistry.
- 0:53what is going on everybody welcome to
- 0:55lunch with the Clydesdale you now may be
- 0:59seated if you guys could only hear us
- 1:07prior to going live oh my word y'all
- 1:10wouldn't i don't think they could handle
- 1:11it be quite honest with you i could
- 1:13barely handle it and i was part of
- 1:15it so there's that
- 1:19Oh, so much fun.
- 1:22So much fun.
- 1:22Absolutely.
- 1:24It's funny because just to let you guys
- 1:27in on the inside joke is Corey,
- 1:29when he moves his mixer,
- 1:32he sometimes bumps a button.
- 1:34And so he came on and he had
- 1:36reverb on and he sounded like Prince from
- 1:40the Purple Rain album.
- 1:42Just enough, though.
- 1:43Just enough to sound like Prince.
- 1:44Not enough to sound like Prince.
- 1:46you know like it was a problem so
- 1:51that took us down a rabbit hole and
- 1:53i would i would contend that the purple
- 1:57rain album is one of the top five
- 2:00albums of all time
- 2:01Oh, that's not even an argument.
- 2:04That's not even an argument.
- 2:05As a matter of fact,
- 2:07there's two groups of thinking as far as
- 2:09that's concerned.
- 2:10Those who understand that Purple Rain is a
- 2:13top five album of all time and people
- 2:15who are wrong.
- 2:20It is a cover-to-cover banger,
- 2:23one after another album.
- 2:26And I actually own it on vinyl.
- 2:28I own it on vinyl.
- 2:29There's not a whole lot of albums that
- 2:31you can put on and just,
- 2:33what are you listening to?
- 2:33I'm just going to listen to Purple Rain.
- 2:36And just let the whole thing play,
- 2:37and it'd be fine.
- 2:40Where you don't go, ah,
- 2:41that one's kind of, whatever.
- 2:43The whole thing, dude, it's perfectionist.
- 2:47movie the movie you take the movie the
- 2:49music out of the movie and it's complete
- 2:51trash the only thing that saves the movie
- 2:56are the concert scenes yeah by far right
- 3:01by far but the music is good as
- 3:04it gets as good as it gets so
- 3:09Glad you could all be here today.
- 3:11Sorry about our little... It's Cory and I.
- 3:14We're going off the rails at some point.
- 3:16We just decided to go start off the
- 3:18rails.
- 3:18Yeah.
- 3:19I mean,
- 3:20sometimes you got to lead from the front.
- 3:23And it's funny because last night I was
- 3:25watching a real where Kevin Smith was
- 3:28talking about his,
- 3:30his first encounter ever with Prince,
- 3:33trying to get him to give them permission
- 3:37to use most beautiful girl in the world
- 3:40for Jay and silent Bob strikes back.
- 3:43Yeah.
- 3:43And Prince flipped it and wanted him to
- 3:45do a documentary on him doing like a
- 3:49live listen party at Paisley park.
- 3:53And Kevin Smith could not follow the
- 3:55conversation.
- 3:59And it is hilarious.
- 4:00If you,
- 4:00if you ever see it out on YouTube,
- 4:02you've got to, you've got to.
- 4:05Kevin Smith is a fantastic storyteller
- 4:07when it comes to stuff like that.
- 4:09It is.
- 4:10It's he's like, he'll,
- 4:13he'll make you feel like you were there
- 4:14and part of it.
- 4:15It's fantastic.
- 4:16But yeah, I can see that.
- 4:18Well,
- 4:18and the punchline is he agrees to do
- 4:22the documentary for Prince.
- 4:24And he says, oh, by the way,
- 4:25I need most beautiful girl in the world
- 4:28for my movie, Jay and Silent Bob.
- 4:30And Prince goes, nope.
- 4:31And then hangs up the phone.
- 4:33No.
- 4:41Mark Phillips with Thriller, Nevermind,
- 4:43OK Computer.
- 4:44Tons of great albums out there.
- 4:46There are tons of great albums.
- 4:50We used to do like a top five
- 4:51show on here.
- 4:53That we did.
- 4:55And we did albums, I think.
- 4:58And I think Purple Rain made my top
- 5:02five in that one.
- 5:04It wouldn't surprise me.
- 5:06So what do we want to talk about
- 5:10first?
- 5:11Um, let's talk about Rob Orlando.
- 5:17Rest in peace, Rob.
- 5:18Dude.
- 5:20Like for a Clydesdale, Rob was the guy.
- 5:23A hundred percent.
- 5:25It was ginormous, man.
- 5:27And when I first got into CrossFit,
- 5:28like my gym was trying to find the
- 5:31molds to make the Atlas stones.
- 5:34Right.
- 5:36Now I'm sure like there are thousands of
- 5:39affiliates out there with stones just
- 5:41sitting outside, you know,
- 5:45just getting rained on and snowed on.
- 5:47And, but man, the dude was,
- 5:50he was so.
- 5:53He had so much energy and was so
- 5:56fun to listen to.
- 5:57Talk about great storytellers.
- 6:00And his strength was unreal.
- 6:03Willing to do anything for anybody.
- 6:06Just a great, great dude.
- 6:08We have Atlas Stones actually in the
- 6:10weightlifting area at our gym as well.
- 6:13I feel like you said a lot of
- 6:15people have them.
- 6:15They're just in a dusty corner somewhere
- 6:17or sitting outside or whatever.
- 6:19A lot of people have those,
- 6:20and that's the direct result of him.
- 6:26Rest in peace, man.
- 6:27We have a bunch of those stones.
- 6:30Jody, we had a lot of his stones.
- 6:32Yeah.
- 6:34Yeah.
- 6:34He is.
- 6:35Sousa did a show earlier,
- 6:37showed some clips from the big sky event
- 6:41where he was eating cheesecake and just
- 6:43stepped up and joined a team to do
- 6:46max snatch, max clean and jerk.
- 6:49He just, just a fun guy, man.
- 6:52Anytime you caught him in one of the
- 6:54older documentaries or behind the scenes
- 6:56or whatnot, dude,
- 6:57like anytime they talked to him,
- 6:59he was just gregarious.
- 7:02Great on camera.
- 7:03Just genuine dude.
- 7:07Rob made grip strength.
- 7:08Cool.
- 7:11Yeah, he,
- 7:13he actually did some announcing at some of
- 7:16the events like mid teens.
- 7:19He was great on the mic.
- 7:20Oh, I bet.
- 7:21Great on the mic.
- 7:22Great storyteller.
- 7:23The only thing I wanted to put out
- 7:24there is Sam Briggs made a post that
- 7:29her affiliate is doing a fundraiser for
- 7:32the family.
- 7:32Good.
- 7:33And the fundraiser is, the workout is,
- 7:36max out your deadlift.
- 7:41And what a more appropriate...
- 7:43There is not a more appropriate workout
- 7:46for Rob Orlando than max out your
- 7:48deadlift.
- 7:49And what they're doing is,
- 7:52ten cents for every pound you max out
- 7:55with goes to the family.
- 7:59And so I'm going to...
- 8:00I think I'm going to try it.
- 8:04I may not get very high,
- 8:05but I'm going to do it for Rob.
- 8:08And...
- 8:10Give it a try.
- 8:11So if you guys want to try it
- 8:13and you take a video of it and
- 8:16you tag us in it,
- 8:18we'll post it on the story and they'll
- 8:20all be for Rob.
- 8:23Just max out your deadlift this week.
- 8:25Take a video of it.
- 8:26Tag Clydesdale underscore media on
- 8:28Instagram and we'll share it on our story
- 8:32and everyone will say this is for Rob.
- 8:37So.
- 8:38Hope you guys can participate.
- 8:40I think that would be a fun,
- 8:41fun endeavor.
- 8:45So there it is.
- 8:50Judy says, cool, Scott.
- 8:51That's cool.
- 8:51Yes.
- 8:51I it's Sam Briggs idea.
- 8:54I'm just kind of modifying it for the
- 8:56show.
- 8:58So.
- 9:00What's up, Jason Bourne?
- 9:02I always get a little chill when I
- 9:04see Jason Bourne in the chat.
- 9:06Jesus Christ, that's Jason Bourne.
- 9:08Like, every single time.
- 9:11Yeah.
- 9:12So,
- 9:14I'll try to do it here in a
- 9:15day or two.
- 9:16The other thing I need to get out
- 9:17is Tournament.
- 9:20Blair Leadingham won both the men's
- 9:23tournament and the women's tournament.
- 9:25So Blair, if you reach out to me,
- 9:28I'll get your address and I'll get you
- 9:30your trophy sent to you.
- 9:34Mostly we're just glad that Jamie didn't
- 9:36win.
- 9:37Right.
- 9:39Vicky was tied with him going into the
- 9:41last game.
- 9:44Oh, all right.
- 9:44Go ahead, Vic.
- 9:44It all came down to last night.
- 9:46He had Michigan winning.
- 9:48So that separated the tie.
- 9:50If Michigan would have lost,
- 9:51they would have finished in a tie and
- 9:53it would have came down to the tiebreaker.
- 9:58So.
- 9:59It's all right, Vicky.
- 10:00You're still number one in our hearts.
- 10:03Hey, Vicky killed me.
- 10:08So yeah,
- 10:09I did not do well at all this
- 10:10year.
- 10:12So now for the fun part of the
- 10:14show, I say sarcastically.
- 10:16Yeah, here we go.
- 10:19So yesterday we talked about magic city
- 10:23and legends and how the way they're
- 10:25inviting people to the in-person semifinal
- 10:29seemed a little chaotic.
- 10:33Corey reached out to magic city.
- 10:36heard that they were waiting on a list
- 10:38from CrossFit to get emails and names to
- 10:41invite people.
- 10:42But before they got that,
- 10:44they were searching for people online to
- 10:47try to contact them any way possible.
- 10:51What has transpired since then is this
- 10:54chaos where people that are far ahead on
- 10:58the leaderboard are seeing people far
- 11:01behind on the leaderboard get invited.
- 11:05And now it's causing pitchforks and
- 11:09torches marching at Legends and Magic
- 11:14City.
- 11:16And what I'm here to tell you is
- 11:19your anger is faced in the wrong
- 11:21direction.
- 11:24I think I know where you're going with
- 11:26this.
- 11:28Your anger should be pointed at CrossFit
- 11:30HQ.
- 11:32It is CrossFit's season.
- 11:35It is CrossFit's games.
- 11:39It is like the McDonald's franchise giving
- 11:43you a franchise without a manual.
- 11:48And you know what happens when that
- 11:49happens?
- 11:51The Golden Arches become the Golden Arcs.
- 11:53The Big Mac becomes the Big Mic.
- 11:57And the owners get to name it themselves,
- 11:58and they call it McDowell's.
- 12:06They got the golden arches.
- 12:08We got the golden arches.
- 12:11They got the Big Mac.
- 12:12We got the Big Mac.
- 12:16Two all-beef patties.
- 12:17We both have two all-beef patties,
- 12:19special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles.
- 12:22But they have a sesame seed bun.
- 12:24We don't have no sesame seeds.
- 12:25We got no sesame seeds.
- 12:28Holy smokes.
- 12:30That's what's happened.
- 12:31That's exactly what's happened.
- 12:33They've left these third-party entities
- 12:35out there to drown.
- 12:37Yes.
- 12:39They have not given them the tools to
- 12:42be successful as part of this season.
- 12:47They have a database where you must
- 12:49register to take part in the season.
- 12:53Part of that registration includes your
- 12:55name and your email address.
- 12:59I work with databases.
- 13:02That means all that information is stored
- 13:03in a table.
- 13:05It is a simple query to run and
- 13:08say,
- 13:09I want all the names and the email
- 13:12addresses of the athletes who have
- 13:14registered for quarterfinals.
- 13:17Once that comes into a spreadsheet,
- 13:20maybe throw in age as well.
- 13:22That probably would help, but yeah.
- 13:25Then if you throw in age,
- 13:26you can actually sort it.
- 13:28and get a list.
- 13:29Look at the leaderboard.
- 13:30Now I have a directory.
- 13:31I can look and get the contact information
- 13:34and send you an invite.
- 13:38Export from one to the other.
- 13:40It is preposterous that they have let this
- 13:45happen.
- 13:45It's a really good word.
- 13:50Yeah.
- 13:51Dude, I...
- 13:52I got added to another master's text group
- 13:55this morning, quarterfinals test group,
- 13:58text group.
- 13:59And it's more of the same,
- 14:01more of the same stuff that I was
- 14:02dealing with,
- 14:03more of the same stuff that friends of
- 14:04mine that I know are dealing with.
- 14:06And it's all over the leaderboard.
- 14:09It's not just men.
- 14:11It's men and women.
- 14:12It's not just my age group.
- 14:14It's several different age groups.
- 14:16It's all this.
- 14:17I mean,
- 14:17Shannon just said she just got an invite
- 14:19yesterday evening.
- 14:20I got mine at nine thirty last night.
- 14:22Where did Shanna finish?
- 14:23Yeah, exactly.
- 14:25Second.
- 14:25Right.
- 14:26Second.
- 14:28Ridiculous.
- 14:29But you know what would happen if CrossFit
- 14:31actually did that?
- 14:33You could get yourself so close.
- 14:36That boy good.
- 14:40He's happy.
- 14:41That boy good.
- 14:42Damn.
- 14:43Oh, man.
- 14:51I don't understand.
- 14:54Wait, hold on.
- 14:56Wait.
- 14:56Agree on the lack of guidance,
- 14:57but those event organizers can read a
- 14:59leaderboard and generate a list of top
- 15:00qualifiers.
- 15:02One social media post asking for them to
- 15:04contact the event is all it would take.
- 15:06It is the Masters Divisions.
- 15:09I tried to interview Masters athletes.
- 15:12They ain't on Instagram.
- 15:16Yeah, that's one of the guys.
- 15:18Magic City is trying to find them through
- 15:20Instagram.
- 15:22They're doing that.
- 15:24It is nearly impossible.
- 15:27Plus,
- 15:28you may have seventeen Corey Leonard's pop
- 15:31up when you search on Instagram.
- 15:33Right.
- 15:34And which one is the one that did
- 15:37the workouts?
- 15:41They're missing information.
- 15:46To Magic City's credit and to Legends'
- 15:48credit, they both have made posts.
- 15:51Legends even put up a Google Doc that
- 15:54you could fill out if you were interested
- 15:56in going to their semifinal and were in
- 15:59a qualifying spot and said, hey,
- 16:01fill this out.
- 16:02But a lot of us do not have
- 16:07either social media or maybe they have
- 16:09Facebook and not Instagram or whatever the
- 16:11case may be.
- 16:13just don't have it or they didn't see
- 16:15it it's it's really not that difficult to
- 16:19miss only i got lucky and saw somebody
- 16:24i know got one which is started the
- 16:26whole thing for me where i started like
- 16:28poking and prodding at it that was
- 16:29saturday i messaged micah himself
- 16:32yesterday morning he responded back to me
- 16:35um during my daughter's softball game at
- 16:37like
- 16:39Seven thirty last night and then about two
- 16:42and a half, about two hours later,
- 16:43right before I went to bed,
- 16:44I got I got my invite.
- 16:48So in all fairness,
- 16:50you were the squeaky wheel.
- 16:51Correct.
- 16:52Right.
- 16:53How many people haven't like I've I've
- 16:55taught I've talked to so many Masters
- 16:57athletes.
- 16:59That aren't that are afraid to be the
- 17:01squeaky wheel.
- 17:02They're filling out the little form on
- 17:04Instagram, and they're just waiting.
- 17:08No guidance of what's happening.
- 17:12And you're also talking hundreds of
- 17:15athletes.
- 17:17The Games deals with a set of thirty
- 17:19men, thirty women, or like Mayhem,
- 17:22twenty and twenty.
- 17:24Masters, you're talking about hundreds.
- 17:29to come to these events.
- 17:31It's not a quick fix.
- 17:35Just because you contract people to do a
- 17:37job for you doesn't mean you just walk
- 17:41away and don't help and don't give tools
- 17:43and don't have any oversight.
- 17:45It's still your season.
- 17:48Yeah.
- 17:48And it's painting a shitty picture about
- 17:51your season.
- 17:51I'm going to address Doug's thing right
- 17:58here.
- 18:00So David Jackson, Mr. Reed,
- 18:04why are they afraid?
- 18:05It's not that we are afraid necessarily.
- 18:10Sometimes the squeaky wheel gets the
- 18:11grease.
- 18:12Sometimes it gets taken off the wheel
- 18:13completely because ultimately,
- 18:15even though Micah said, yes,
- 18:17we are going down the list,
- 18:19they are still at their leisure to invite
- 18:21whoever the hell they want to invite,
- 18:22just like Legends did.
- 18:25just like Down Under did or whichever one
- 18:28it is in Australia that had a qualifier
- 18:30for it, just like French Throwdown did.
- 18:33So sometimes it feels like you're imposing
- 18:36on somebody, oh, please, sir,
- 18:37may I have my spot or whatnot?
- 18:40And you're worried that it's going to tell
- 18:41you to get bent and go on about
- 18:43your business.
- 18:44So it's a, it's,
- 18:46and I'm gonna tell you from my,
- 18:48from my spot, I didn't want to be,
- 18:53and they tell me, well,
- 18:54I'm just not going to invite you.
- 18:55I'm just gonna skip you and just move
- 18:57on.
- 19:00And the world is full of rule followers.
- 19:02Correct.
- 19:04They're not going to step outside of the
- 19:06normal course of action.
- 19:08They fill out the little form.
- 19:10They do all the stuff.
- 19:12And they're just waiting.
- 19:14And like Shanna says,
- 19:16this whole thing is so nerve-wracking.
- 19:18I'm afraid of missing an email when no
- 19:20email has been sent.
- 19:21Nothing from Legends yet.
- 19:23Yep.
- 19:25I would say to go on Competition Corner
- 19:28and look on your profile just in case
- 19:31and look at your invites because they're
- 19:34also listed there.
- 19:40Will the rest of us scrubs get an
- 19:42invite for online semis?
- 19:43Yes.
- 19:44Yes.
- 19:45Not until the leaderboard is finalized and
- 19:47probably not until, or I say that,
- 19:50you'll probably be able to sign up
- 19:51beforehand,
- 19:52but it'll probably be a lot closer to
- 19:54it, Joseph, before that actually happens.
- 19:59It would also help if we could see
- 20:01the leaderboard and see how many have
- 20:02registered.
- 20:03I DMed them at Shana Bunsen.
- 20:05My invite came last night.
- 20:07Yeah.
- 20:09Magic City equals them.
- 20:11I don't think Jamie's gotten an invite
- 20:13yet.
- 20:14I meant to text her this morning.
- 20:15I forgot.
- 20:18Last I heard, she had not.
- 20:20Vicky,
- 20:20it's reinforcing the perception and
- 20:22reality that age groups don't matter.
- 20:24Bad luck, a hundred percent.
- 20:27Well,
- 20:27and who's going to want to work with
- 20:28you, CrossFit, if you're not willing to?
- 20:32That is a simple task.
- 20:33I don't give a shit if you have
- 20:34a two-person team to run one query of
- 20:37the database you've been keeping for years
- 20:40to get names and email addresses to the
- 20:44two people you have partnered with,
- 20:47allegedly partnered with.
- 20:50And that's the other thing.
- 20:51Jamie's been trying to make flight
- 20:53arrangements and hotel arrangements.
- 20:56And without an invite,
- 20:58how do you make that step?
- 20:59And the more they're filling up,
- 21:01the more expensive it's getting.
- 21:05Yeah.
- 21:06My wife was looking at stuff this morning
- 21:09as far as trying to book something for
- 21:10us to stay at.
- 21:11I mean,
- 21:11I'm driving because it's like a six-hour
- 21:13drive.
- 21:14It's not terrible.
- 21:15But I got buddies of mine that want
- 21:17to come.
- 21:19know oh we're gonna we're gonna come watch
- 21:20and i'm like hold off like i don't
- 21:23i'm not i'm not doing anything i'm not
- 21:25cutting my chickens before they hatch i'm
- 21:26not committing to anything before i
- 21:29actually get an invite and i accept it
- 21:31and pay my registration fee until such
- 21:34time i'm not doing that and i'm certainly
- 21:37not advising any of my friends to do
- 21:38that like that might want to come to
- 21:40watch so
- 21:46You can stay in my basement, Corey.
- 21:48Thanks, Mark.
- 21:50Denise, congratulations to Corey.
- 21:52Thanks, Denise.
- 21:55I've talked to so many Masters athletes in
- 21:57the last two days.
- 22:01It's just mind-bending to me,
- 22:02but I don't know.
- 22:07I think the problem with what most of
- 22:11us are seeing is that this was easily
- 22:13preventable.
- 22:16Easily preventable.
- 22:17Hey, Micah, hey, Joe and Bob,
- 22:22here are the names, email addresses,
- 22:27and age groups of all the people that
- 22:29qualified for quarterfinals.
- 22:32Here's the file.
- 22:33Here's the thirty five thirty nine women.
- 22:34Here's thirty five thirty nine women.
- 22:36And just on down the list.
- 22:38Once you start, cause you know,
- 22:41once your leaderboard gets moving around
- 22:43and whatnot,
- 22:43you want to start inviting people.
- 22:44Here's their stuff before it's preemptive.
- 22:49Here you go.
- 22:50Do with this what you will.
- 22:53Vicki,
- 22:54I wonder if for some reason there's legal
- 22:55concern with releasing email addresses.
- 22:57Not that it makes sense to me,
- 22:59but it only makes business reason,
- 23:00the only business reason I can think of.
- 23:02That is not personal identifying
- 23:04information.
- 23:05The handles on an email don't really tell
- 23:07you who the person is.
- 23:09No.
- 23:10You know how many spam emails I get
- 23:11a day?
- 23:12Right.
- 23:13Everybody gives away my email address.
- 23:15A hundred percent.
- 23:15As a matter of fact,
- 23:17usually whenever you sign up to not give
- 23:19your email address away is when somebody
- 23:21is giving your email address away.
- 23:24Lito says, sorry,
- 23:25but the Torium Pro did it best.
- 23:26If you're interested in doing the comp,
- 23:27you sign up on Competition Corner and
- 23:29submit your quarterfinal scores so it also
- 23:32filters out irrelevant ones.
- 23:35The problem is,
- 23:36how do you tell the Masters community to
- 23:38go sign up?
- 23:40If they're not on social media,
- 23:44there's just the basic premises.
- 23:48CrossFit is running a season and they're
- 23:50going hands-off for the Masters.
- 23:54And probably the teens too.
- 23:56I don't know because I'm not as close
- 23:57to that community.
- 23:59But they're just being like, not our bad.
- 24:04We contracted with someone else to do
- 24:05that.
- 24:05Yeah.
- 24:07But you collected the money and you
- 24:08collected the information.
- 24:09Again.
- 24:17And I don't bring your logic, Corey.
- 24:18We do things the hard way.
- 24:19You know that.
- 24:19I do know that, unfortunately.
- 24:23It just would have been easily
- 24:23preventable.
- 24:26It really, really would have.
- 24:34Lito says, Scott,
- 24:36that info on Touring Pro has been out
- 24:37since last year.
- 24:38That's literally their qualifier.
- 24:40That's what everyone should have done,
- 24:42plus video review.
- 24:44Yeah.
- 24:46Okay.
- 24:47I'm sure word of mouth would get to...
- 24:51some of the older athletes who don't have
- 24:53social media maybe honestly i mean she has
- 25:02a point she absolutely has a point i
- 25:04i want to believe that and i like
- 25:06that compared to what's going on now oh
- 25:09absolutely that would have been that have
- 25:10been the move to go to but
- 25:14That's not what happened.
- 25:15And we knew that wasn't going to be
- 25:17what happened.
- 25:17I didn't think it was going to be
- 25:18this messy, to be quite honest with you.
- 25:21But here we are.
- 25:23What are we still finalizing on the
- 25:25leaderboard?
- 25:27That's what I'm trying to figure out at
- 25:29this point.
- 25:31I know I talked about it yesterday,
- 25:33but I still don't understand.
- 25:35I went from fifty seven to fifty four
- 25:37to fifty six.
- 25:38I moved three different times,
- 25:41three spots and then back down to fifty
- 25:45And I have no idea what happened because
- 25:46it ain't nothing that I did.
- 25:48It's people ahead of me.
- 25:49I assume when I moved up,
- 25:51it's because other people scores didn't
- 25:53get validated, whatever,
- 25:55by their affiliate manager.
- 25:56But why did I go back down two
- 25:57spots?
- 26:02The validation window is closed.
- 26:05So why did I go down two spots?
- 26:07I don't get it.
- 26:09Unless there's some video review.
- 26:10I know there was a video option for
- 26:14people not at a thing that you had
- 26:15to get judges and all that kind of
- 26:18stuff.
- 26:18So maybe that.
- 26:21But there's no kind of clarity on it
- 26:22whatsoever.
- 26:23I'm
- 26:31I'm over it because I got mine,
- 26:33but it's still a huge problem for
- 26:36everybody else that has not yet.
- 26:40Uh, Craig Selizer, uh,
- 26:43didn't realize your procedure was last
- 26:45week.
- 26:45Glad to know you're on the mend.
- 26:46Uh, yeah, it didn't go perfect.
- 26:49Um, I just actually,
- 26:51right before we went on the air scheduled
- 26:53the next attempt to get my heart back
- 26:55into rhythm for April.
- 26:58So Monday, April.
- 27:00Um,
- 27:01I'm going to a special lab to have
- 27:04a special version of the cardio version
- 27:06done.
- 27:09And hopefully that does the trick.
- 27:11Super special.
- 27:12But the ablation is done.
- 27:13If they can get me back into rhythm,
- 27:15the ablation will work.
- 27:17It's just getting me back into rhythm.
- 27:20That part will work as advertising.
- 27:22We just got to get back into rhythm.
- 27:24Yeah.
- 27:26So I can dance again.
- 27:30Let's go crazy.
- 27:33You know what freaked me out though?
- 27:34Craig Zelizer.
- 27:35Yeah.
- 27:37On my Bears podcast,
- 27:39there's a guy that is the Craigulator.
- 27:42And every time he comes in,
- 27:44the hosts are like,
- 27:47it's time for the Craigulator.
- 27:48It's time for the Craigulator.
- 27:51And I was like, wait,
- 27:52did he follow me over here?
- 27:54Probably.
- 27:57Once invite started,
- 27:58it was the beginning of the end.
- 28:00You placed top fifty.
- 28:01Here's your invite done.
- 28:02Once event organizer said,
- 28:05but I want Roman to be at my
- 28:06comp downhill.
- 28:09Preaching to the choir, buddy.
- 28:11Preaching to the choir.
- 28:16We've been saying that for years.
- 28:18Invites...
- 28:20for something that is a direct qualifier
- 28:23to the CrossFit Games,
- 28:24if you just get an invite just because
- 28:26they want you to be there,
- 28:28is bananas crazy to me.
- 28:31It's just flat-out bullshit,
- 28:33in my opinion.
- 28:34It's not sports.
- 28:37Ed AI says they just need to update
- 28:39your heart with a factory reset and reset
- 28:42it.
- 28:42Yeah, that's it.
- 28:57Actually, Scott, it's me, Catalina.
- 28:59I use my husband's account.
- 29:00My husband is into pickleball.
- 29:02I'm the CrossFit.
- 29:03Gotcha.
- 29:09You could always try David Johnson's.
- 29:11Whoops.
- 29:12Where did that go?
- 29:13Nope.
- 29:13Nope.
- 29:21My mouse died.
- 29:23Yeah.
- 29:24I always tried David Johnson's echo bike
- 29:25sprint that he used to fix his AFib.
- 29:28Dude, I'm about to,
- 29:30if this one doesn't work,
- 29:31that's what we're going to do.
- 29:32Well, I got some echo bike sprints.
- 29:34That's what we, that's what we live on.
- 29:35That kind of stuff on, on,
- 29:37on email company.
- 29:37Not a problem.
- 29:38I'll send you one.
- 29:40Something's going to happen.
- 29:41Either you get back into rhythm,
- 29:44something will happen.
- 29:45I promise you that much.
- 29:46Either it goes back into rhythm or I'm
- 29:48laying in a puddle.
- 29:50A hundred percent.
- 29:51Underneath.
- 29:52Get up and try again.
- 29:54Did you try turning it off and turning
- 29:56it back on?
- 29:58Was that the first thing they did?
- 29:59I hope that's the first thing they did.
- 30:01Unplug it and plug it back in.
- 30:03Or with Corey, did you plug it in?
- 30:05Yeah,
- 30:06or did you plug it in at all?
- 30:08Yes.
- 30:08I did now.
- 30:13Yeah, Lito.
- 30:14Control-Alt-Delete.
- 30:18Yeah,
- 30:18not to mention getting an invite after a
- 30:19four-year drug ban.
- 30:21What the hell, man?
- 30:24That still pisses me off.
- 30:26That's not cool.
- 30:29Make sure you have a defibrillator
- 30:31standing by.
- 30:32Actually, Denise, that is the next step.
- 30:35They are going to put two defibrillators
- 30:37on me and give me the max voltage
- 30:40to see if that will zap it back
- 30:42in.
- 30:43Okay.
- 30:45So instead of the two-person paddle,
- 30:46it's going to be a four.
- 30:51So I should feel real sore the next
- 30:53day.
- 30:55Or you'll feel like a million bucks,
- 30:56one of the two.
- 30:58It is for sure an older model.
- 31:01So maybe I do need to update the
- 31:03firmware.
- 31:04Update the firmware.
- 31:06Hit him again.
- 31:18Thanks, Shanna.
- 31:18I appreciate that heads up, Shanna.
- 31:22Thanks for reinforcing that for me.
- 31:25Oh, no, no, no, no.
- 31:25You're going to be super sore.
- 31:29Oh, good.
- 31:30So here's the bonus of it all.
- 31:33So I work from home.
- 31:34Yep.
- 31:35I hate going into the office.
- 31:37Yep.
- 31:38We are having an in-person mandatory
- 31:40meeting the day after this procedure.
- 31:46I got a doctor's excuse now not to
- 31:48come.
- 31:48Let's go.
- 31:53That may have made me happier than
- 31:57anything in the world.
- 31:58Yeah.
- 32:00Oh, I'm so sorry.
- 32:00I'm not gonna be able to make that
- 32:01meeting.
- 32:01Yeah, no,
- 32:03I got a procedure the day before and
- 32:04doctor says I shouldn't leave the house.
- 32:05Yeah.
- 32:08Scott turns into the Hulk after
- 32:10defibrillation.
- 32:13Beaten on your chest.
- 32:14Cool to be that Red Hulk like Harrison
- 32:16Ford.
- 32:22Damn it.
- 32:24I mean, it will be four twenty.
- 32:25You can have a special THC gummy bear
- 32:28afterwards to relax.
- 32:31I'll I'll reach out to Alex Kazan if
- 32:33I can get a couple.
- 32:36Oh,
- 32:42quite the extra effort avoiding a meeting.
- 32:44You don't know the half of it, Denise.
- 32:48If it's an in-person meeting, one,
- 32:51I hate meetings, period.
- 32:53I hate meetings that should be an email.
- 32:57I hate meetings, period.
- 32:59But in person,
- 33:00I will move hell and earth to find
- 33:04a way out.
- 33:06So what are you going to do instead
- 33:07of going to this meeting?
- 33:09Well, it's funny you should ask.
- 33:11I'm going to get double defibrillated.
- 33:12I'm going to hook a couple electrodes to
- 33:15my chest, hook those to a car battery,
- 33:17and we're going to find out what happens.
- 33:20I plan all my doctor and dentist visits
- 33:21for all staff meeting days.
- 33:23I only have to attend like once a
- 33:25month if I do it that way.
- 33:27Seema, you're my spirit animal.
- 33:29Seema's a genius.
- 33:34I am the same way.
- 33:35Like I will schedule all of my doctor's
- 33:38appointments on days that I have to go
- 33:40into the office.
- 33:41One, I have to go downtown.
- 33:42That means I have to fight traffic.
- 33:45Then I have to pay to park.
- 33:47All those kind of things.
- 33:50I'm saving money.
- 33:51Gross.
- 33:56Speaking of finding a way out,
- 33:57find your way out of crappy sleep by
- 33:58getting your Thirdsy at thirdsy.com
- 34:02backslash Jazzy.
- 34:05Or use the promo code Jazzy at checkout
- 34:07to get fifteen percent off your order.
- 34:10Yeah.
- 34:11I finally got to take Thirdsy again last
- 34:14night.
- 34:15Finally got some sleep.
- 34:18It's the best stuff in the world if
- 34:20you need to get your sleep.
- 34:22Get your recovery up.
- 34:25Get your HRV elevated.
- 34:27It is semifinal season, boys and girls.
- 34:30All the way up to the thick of
- 34:31it.
- 34:31Get your training in.
- 34:32Get your good sleep.
- 34:34Sleep is a superpower.
- 34:36Thirdsy will help you get there.
- 34:38And the best part of it,
- 34:39you'll be so recovered,
- 34:40you'll be able to fight harder for your
- 34:42invite from Magic City and Legends.
- 34:48I need to go check the last time
- 34:49I read.
- 34:49You will be a better squeaky wheel.
- 34:51Yes.
- 34:52Take thirdsy.
- 34:52You can be that.
- 34:54Sleep all night.
- 34:55And then you'll be refreshed and ready to
- 34:58kick ass in being the squeaky wheel.
- 35:05And I want to know if he can
- 35:07tell his kids to let him sleep.
- 35:10Unfortunately,
- 35:10that is the two point O version they're
- 35:13still working on.
- 35:22So last thing I want to talk about
- 35:25is I don't know if you got a
- 35:26chance to see this,
- 35:28but Hiller and Brian Friend did.
- 35:31It looks like another long one,
- 35:32but they cut a piece.
- 35:34It's like I saw the eighteen minute
- 35:36version this morning.
- 35:37Yeah.
- 35:37So I watched that and they talk about
- 35:40should Dave be the CEO, the CEO?
- 35:46None of that was of interest to me.
- 35:48I know how Brian Friend feels about Dave
- 35:50being CEO.
- 35:52And if you didn't,
- 35:53you can watch that eighteen minute video
- 35:55and he just reinforces it again.
- 35:58They bring up Matt Souza and whether he
- 36:00should be CEO.
- 36:02And Brian was actually more open to that.
- 36:06I think Matt Souza is a great choice
- 36:09because he is an affiliate owner.
- 36:11He does know the sport.
- 36:13He knows all the aspects of it.
- 36:15He's big into the education.
- 36:18I think he is a decent selection.
- 36:21I personally don't think it matters
- 36:23because as long as that board is in
- 36:25that place,
- 36:27you are limited in your power anyway.
- 36:30Absolutely.
- 36:32But then something happened at the very
- 36:35last second of the video.
- 36:39where they talked about what Dave said at
- 36:42the end of the clip and in his
- 36:45week in review when asked if he's not
- 36:48given the CEO what's next.
- 36:50And Dave said,
- 36:53I've been thinking about that a lot,
- 36:56but I'm not ready to talk about that
- 36:57now.
- 36:59And Hiller says,
- 37:01do you think Dave is connected with Xenon?
- 37:04And Brian says, yes, I do.
- 37:06And the video cuts off.
- 37:14Xenom is partnering with CrossFit.
- 37:27It makes sense to me.
- 37:28I feel like most of that shit is
- 37:32edited just enough to make you want to
- 37:34pay attention to the next thing that comes
- 37:36up without really saying anything of
- 37:38substance.
- 37:43I don't think they know, but damn,
- 37:45it makes sense.
- 37:46Right.
- 37:48And of the whole eighteen minutes,
- 37:51you could have skipped the first seventeen
- 37:53thirty.
- 37:55And that last little bit made my ear
- 37:57just go.
- 37:57Yeah.
- 38:03Shanna says,
- 38:05I'm surprised Dave would want to be CEO
- 38:07with that board.
- 38:11I would think the only reason he would
- 38:12want to be is that he thinks that
- 38:14he would actually have influence as CEO,
- 38:18even with the board.
- 38:20He's not a stupid man by any stretch
- 38:22of the imagination.
- 38:23He's very, very clever.
- 38:24He thinks things out.
- 38:26He's a strategist, right?
- 38:29So for him to actually think he would
- 38:32do a good job, I think he would.
- 38:37He's calculated.
- 38:38I don't think he does anything by
- 38:39accident.
- 38:41I still contend,
- 38:42and I've talked about this a lot,
- 38:45that whole group made Dave to be the
- 38:46scapegoat of the twenty four games.
- 38:49One percent.
- 38:50They let him be the sacrificial lamb for
- 38:54everybody to beat the shit out of after
- 38:57Lazar died at the games.
- 39:00And he did it and he survived it.
- 39:06And maybe they make him CEO because of
- 39:09that,
- 39:10because they think they can get away with
- 39:12more because Dave's able to survive the
- 39:15slings and arrows of everybody as stuff's
- 39:18coming down.
- 39:19But Dave would have to be in agreement
- 39:22with the board to carry out what they
- 39:24want to carry out.
- 39:26And I just don't think that's a good
- 39:27mesh or match.
- 39:33And it's more on the board's part than
- 39:35on Dave's part.
- 39:35Yeah.
- 39:36It's not going to happen more.
- 39:46I wonder if they would consider selling
- 39:48the company to the employees,
- 39:49set up an ESOP, reasonable stock,
- 39:52repurchase from Berkshire, blah, blah,
- 39:54blah.
- 39:58I'm not sure all the employees at CrossFit
- 40:00are on the same page.
- 40:01No.
- 40:06I think if Dave CEO,
- 40:07he gets rid of a handful of people
- 40:10quickly.
- 40:12So I don't know.
- 40:21Yeah, I think that's my point.
- 40:22Exactly.
- 40:23Ed is that it's a super tight leash
- 40:27with that board, whoever,
- 40:28no matter who gets put in that position.
- 40:36I do not mention this man's name on
- 40:37my show.
- 40:40Not if we can help it.
- 40:43The board is the problem.
- 40:44Well, Berkshire is the problem,
- 40:46but the board supported Berkshire.
- 40:48That's where the problem was.
- 40:49Yeah.
- 40:51It never,
- 40:52like we are in a position that we
- 40:54never envisioned being in,
- 40:57that we never should have gotten ourselves
- 40:59in.
- 40:59It was,
- 41:02duped, wool pulled over your eyes,
- 41:04like pick a euphemism.
- 41:06That's what ended up happening when
- 41:09basically when they forced Greg out.
- 41:12And now we're here.
- 41:18I get what you're saying.
- 41:19I believe that... Gosh,
- 41:22this is going to get me murdered.
- 41:25When Greg got rid of the media department,
- 41:27that was the first part of the problem.
- 41:29Oh, yeah.
- 41:29Oh, no, no, no.
- 41:30I'll...
- 41:31That's where it started.
- 41:32Yeah.
- 41:35CrossFit lost its North star.
- 41:38It was a media company.
- 41:39They called themselves a media company.
- 41:43And when you get rid of the thing
- 41:44that you say you are,
- 41:46then everything starts to slide.
- 41:52And then,
- 41:53so then you start to slide and then
- 41:55the one rudder you had sells off and
- 41:59walks away.
- 42:02Now you're a rudderless ship and you'd
- 42:04have no identity.
- 42:08And that is a problem.
- 42:11That is a legit,
- 42:13one hundred percent actual real problem.
- 42:18Uh, based on execution,
- 42:20many could be let go.
- 42:21I agree.
- 42:24Private equity just wants the bottom line
- 42:27to be in the positive.
- 42:28They don't care about how it happens.
- 42:31Yes and no.
- 42:33Yes,
- 42:33they want the bottom line to be positive.
- 42:35The problem is that they think that they
- 42:39have something that they don't actually
- 42:40have.
- 42:42They still don't have any idea what they
- 42:43have.
- 42:44Because if they did,
- 42:45we wouldn't have just a figurehead for a
- 42:49CEO that just goes, yeah,
- 42:51thirty million CrossFitters, sure,
- 42:53that's a good thing, let's do that.
- 42:56Because if they did,
- 42:58then we wouldn't be in the mess that
- 42:59we are right now.
- 43:02Period.
- 43:03If they would back off and just let
- 43:05us do.
- 43:07I mean,
- 43:08there's a reason they gave Greg two
- 43:10hundred twenty million dollars.
- 43:13Ed says, fine,
- 43:13we'll crank down the defibrillators down
- 43:15one notch for the smart comment.
- 43:20Awesome.
- 43:23Well,
- 43:23one more thing and then I got to
- 43:24get out of here.
- 43:25Yes.
- 43:25And that is we are nine subscribers away
- 43:29from three grand.
- 43:32Nine.
- 43:35I can hold it up with my fingers.
- 43:37Yeah.
- 43:37Don't need any toes.
- 43:41Be really cool if we hit that three
- 43:42thousand sometime soon.
- 43:44So hit that subscribe button, please.
- 43:49Hit the like button.

- 44:11but just subscribe.

- 44:17Nine little clicks.
- 44:18Nine little clicks.
- 44:19That's all we need.
- 44:20Nine little clicks is what we need.
- 44:23A hundred percent.
- 44:28Like the steam to the steam to people.
- 44:34So eight away.
- 44:36Thank you, Mark.
- 44:38There we go.
- 44:39I think that's all I got.
- 44:44Make sure you go listen to Purple Rain
- 44:46this afternoon and remember how great it
- 44:48was.
- 44:50Like the stream.
