- 0:21It is time to leave your where he's outside and come laugh with us inside
- 0:28the Treehouse. I'm Daniel Malley along with Tree Trendholm and Raj Sharma. This
- 0:35is episode one hundred of the Treehouse Podcast. Yes, yes, I feel
- 0:43like we should have some fireworks or some kind of fanfare. You should well,
- 0:46maybe some applause. Now, all right, I didn't plan this,
- 0:51but if you ask for it, I will give it. Yeah, thank
- 0:57you, Thank you everyone and burn in. Yeah, the Emperor wave is
- 1:03very convincing from me. I don't know why that ended with that part the
- 1:06buttons right next to it. It just seemed fitting. Actually, let's say
- 1:08somehow fitting. Uh so episode one hundred Inside the Treehouse and it look,
- 1:19we've done way more than a hundred of these as it is, technically we'd
- 1:22already done more. I mean, we had released podcasts when we were on
- 1:29the radio still, but all that was was whatever one clip from the day
- 1:32we felt like turning into the podcast for the day because we had to.
- 1:37That doesn't count, no, but it counts on the list of our hosting
- 1:42platform. It counts all of them. But so as far as this these
- 1:46episodes are concerned, for this show, this podcast. This is episode one
- 1:51hundred, but we've done way more than that because we've done what like forty
- 1:53something Friday episodes. We've done thirty something Treehouse Plus episodes, which if you
- 2:00did not hear Treehouse Plus number thirty two, you can do that right now.
- 2:05Go to patreon dot com slash Treehouse on Air. Five bucks a month
- 2:07will get you that bonus episode usually one per week of a Deeper Inside the
- 2:15Treehouse for the Treehouse Plus program. That's Patreon dot com slash Treehouse on Air
- 2:17Plus. You have the football episodes that we've done about sixteen of during the
- 2:22football season, so I mean we've done a lot more than one hundred.
- 2:25You're right right. It still looks cool seeing the one zero and the zero,
- 2:30so yeah for us. Yeah, and again somehow fitting that actually this
- 2:45this should have been you know how in one of the greatest movies of all
- 2:47time, the hero that young Keenan Ivory Wayans looks up to in the film
- 2:54I'm Gonna Get You Suck teaches him what it's like to be a neighborhood hero.
- 3:00What's one of the things he tells? You got to have theme music.
- 3:02Yes, the last twenty four hours the band following me around the Fort
- 3:09Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport. Was this just over and over and over again,
- 3:20And then hundreds of other people joined in, and it was a chorus of
- 3:25sad trombone theme music people because all of our flights got canceled. Now,
- 3:34where was the You said it was because of weather. No, okay,
- 3:38I said, Spirit Airlines said it was because of weather. Ah, they
- 3:43lied. Ultimately, we don't know. Here's what happened. I was supposed
- 3:50to take all right, Hang up, let me throw out a quick disclaimer
- 3:54here before someone throws out the very obviously you get for flowing Spirard airbloods.
- 4:00I know that, no shit. I've flown Spirit Airlines enough to know where
- 4:03I where, where they're okay, and where they're terrible. They're okay getting
- 4:09from Dallas to the islands. They're actually in our experience, which we've had
- 4:14a lot of over the years of traveling to and from the islands. Spirit
- 4:17has the best track record with our experience. So that's who we typically fly
- 4:24when getting off the island. Anywhere else in the country, we will happily
- 4:29choose a different airline because we know better. I've flown with them a few
- 4:31times. They're always on time and got me there early. I will just
- 4:35say that. And when they're on their game, they're among the better ones.
- 4:39And I remember one time Steve Noviella from Fox Moore tried from Fox four,
- 4:43tried giving me a hard time, calling me cheap. And this is
- 4:46this is the consumer reporter for Fox four calling mee cheap for flying Spirit Airlines
- 4:49and I and I said, Steve, I get more value on Spirit.
- 4:54And in some cases I can get a better seat on Spirit, like the
- 4:57big front seat will cost less than the economy seat on American. Plus in
- 5:01my recent experience with American, that hasn't been good at all. Because there
- 5:05was one time trying to get to the island, we had to stop in
- 5:08Miami. They lost two planes. Yes, and that was our last straw
- 5:13with them. That's where like, you know what, you've been so bad,
- 5:15you're gonna make us fly Spirit. And they did pretty good until yesterday.
- 5:18Because yesterday get to Fort What is it I was gonna ask you.
- 5:25You said it's not because of weather, but I thought there was like a
- 5:27tropical system moving through. Yes, Yes, So I'm glad you brought that
- 5:33up. We were watching the weather, and there has been let me back
- 5:41up for it. Okay. I get on a plane in Saint Thomas and
- 5:46that Spirit Airline flight gets me to UH Fort Lauderdale for my connecting flight that's
- 5:50supposed to go to Dallas and arrive see Thursday night. Supposed to fly in
- 5:56Thursday night. And during my three and a half hour layover that I have,
- 6:00I was watching the news about all the flooding that South Florida has been
- 6:04experiencing, and I saw a graphic on there that showed rainfall in inches various
- 6:11spots of South Florida, Miami Dade. You know, Broward County, which
- 6:14is where Fort Lauderdale is, North Miami, which I learned for one of
- 6:18my Uber drivers is in a bit of a basin got the worst of it
- 6:23at over twenty inches of rain since Tuesday. From Tuesday to Thursday, over
- 6:29twenty inches of rain. Other parts of South Florida saw more than thirteen inches,
- 6:32with another four to eight expected through the weekend or something. I think
- 6:36that's changed now, but whatever. So parts of South Florida almost two feet
- 6:44of rain in two days, so it was bad. The day before on
- 6:46Wednesday, apparently they canceled a ton of flights. Then on Thursday we fly
- 6:50in, have no problem landing at the airport to fly in. Then when
- 6:57it comes time to start boarding from my connecting flight to Doubt, I see
- 7:00the pilots. That's always a good sign. The pilots are there. They
- 7:04show up, they go down the jetway down to the plane. They're hanging
- 7:08out, they're waiting. And then it's like fifteen minutes after we're supposed to
- 7:11start boarding, and people are starting to get antsy because well it's a it's
- 7:14air travel. And about thirty minutes goes by, and then they say,
- 7:19sorry for the delay, folks, we're just waiting on the flight attendants.
- 7:23When the rest of the crew gets here, we will get you on board
- 7:25and we'll get you to Dallas. Yay, okay. After about twenty more
- 7:29minutes, we're all getting really restless now, and we start hearing flights getting
- 7:33canceled to other cities. Raleigh, Durham had a flight canceled, Baltimore had
- 7:39a flight canceled, and another one somewhere on the East coast. So I'm
- 7:43thinking, maybe there's weather north of us on the East coast that's blocking those
- 7:46flights. And then they pick up the think attention spiritu onlines passengers flying to
- 7:51Dallas Fort Worth on flight thirty one twenty six, we're canceling that now due
- 7:58to weather. Oh whoa, whoa, what do you mean? Like thirty
- 8:01minutes ago you said it was a flight attendant issue. Now you're saying it's
- 8:03because of weather. Something seems afoot. So that now the scramble is on.
- 8:11People are trying to figure out what to do. They tell people go
- 8:13to go to the customer service, go to the ticket agents, go to
- 8:18the rebooking station downstairs. So I was like, okay, well I looked
- 8:22up on my phone saw another flight to Dallas like leaving like two hours later.
- 8:28So I ran down to that gate to see if they had any room.
- 8:30Like, now, we don't have anything. We're over sold. Well
- 8:31of course you are, because there's one thing airlines love to do. It's
- 8:35to overseell flights. So I go downstairs and get in the gargantuan line that
- 8:39is known as rebooking. And when I say gargantuan, I mean it.
- 8:45I mean we're talking John Holmes plus all the dudes on black dot com size.
- 8:52It snakes out the door into the south Florida Weather where they still got
- 8:58marauding monk. He's flying around by the way, and in this time,
- 9:03we're all trying to figureut what's going on. We're in this rebooking line.
- 9:05This line's going to take hours. And then this lady starts handing around these
- 9:09little Spirit business cards with a QR code. Here you can text and talk
- 9:13to the to the the people and they can help you with the rebooking your
- 9:16flights and stuff. Okay, cool. And then this one of the airport
- 9:22information people hands us this card, so I start texting with Spirit Customer Service
- 9:26texting, which at first was really helpful, it seemed. So then I
- 9:31while I'm waiting for their response, and to that, I'm standing in line
- 9:33and it's moving I don't know, an inch every thirty minutes, and so
- 9:37I decide I'm gonna call. I'm gonna see what happens. So I call,
- 9:39and then very nice lady I speak to says, yeah, I think
- 9:41we can get this figured out for you. And then she says, I'm
- 9:43sorry, they're not letting me rebook your flight. Let me kick this up
- 9:46to my supervisor. Don't give you a call back. I was like,
- 9:48okay, here. Yeah, you got to call me back on this number.
- 9:50I am still waiting to hear from that woman, by the way,
- 9:56so I never heard back from Cindy. So then the the spirit person says,
- 10:01Okay, you can go upstairs and talk to the ticket agents up there
- 10:05and they can help you with rebooking. All right, fine, so I'll
- 10:07go up the stairs. I'll leave the line, the rebooking line, of
- 10:11which there's like two of them or three of them, we're not even sure
- 10:13at this point. There's one on the first floor, there's one on the
- 10:15second floor. And then she's saying, go talk to the ticketing agent.
- 10:16So I'm gonna go talk to the ticketing agents. I go to the agent
- 10:20assist section of Spirit and it's a madhouse up there too, because at this
- 10:24point they've canceled like five or six flights and people are just you know,
- 10:26they're pissed. And this lady tells I asked this lady to say, okay,
- 10:31lady downstairs to me to come up here and talk to one of these
- 10:33people. Is that gonna be helpful? Or do I need to go back
- 10:35downstairs? And she's like she was, and then I said, or she
- 10:41handed me this QR code thing and she's like that right there, that's all
- 10:45you need. Like, are you sure I can get rebooked? All I
- 10:48gotta do is just is this doctor's money on the phone. She's like yes,
- 10:52and she was very adamant about it. And I said, when's the
- 10:56next flight to DFW. She said it not until the sixteenth. I said
- 11:00that's not going to work for me because that's the day I have to be
- 11:01doing stuff for work. And so she's like, well, that's all I
- 11:05can tell you right now, call them, call the number, do the
- 11:09texting things like fine. So now I'm worried about not having a hotel room
- 11:13for the night because she just said there's no flights until the sixteenth. It's
- 11:16the fourteenth, way hang on, it was the thirteenth. It was the
- 11:18thirteenth. There weren't going to be flights until the sixteenth, which is Sunday,
- 11:22the day after Vermfest. That's no good. So I was like,
- 11:26let me at least get a hotel room before all these other people buy them
- 11:28all. So I book a hotel room and I go to the hotel and
- 11:33I check in, and I call the number. I go across the street.
- 11:37I'm on hold with the number. I'm having a drink sitting at the
- 11:39bar. I'm about to order dinner because it's seven o'clock in Fort Lauderdale and
- 11:43I'm at a place called the Fish Grill and it sounds really good. So
- 11:50then I finally talked to a lady on the phone and she says, we
- 11:54can't do that on the phone. You need to be at the airport.
- 11:56I'm like, you've got to be kidding me. Wow. I was after
- 12:00I'd already waited in line for over an hour, and now I've lost that
- 12:03spot. So now I go back to the airport. This is uber number
- 12:07two. Back to the airport and in line for an additional three plus hours.
- 12:15And then right as I get to the front of the line, there
- 12:18are three people in front of me. Three people in front of me at
- 12:20a new, fresh, rested Spirit Airlines agent approaches the front of the line
- 12:28and she says, this kiosk is closed. Wow, but everyone remain in
- 12:39the line you are currently in, maintain your positions and follow me upstairs.
- 12:43Now we're going back up to where I was sent before, and they didn't
- 12:46help me at all. So now there's an army of ticket agents as opposed
- 12:52to two. Really, look, everyone was really tired that day. The
- 12:56only people more tired than me and my fellow canceled passengers for these two rebooking
- 13:03ages. Of me, they looked haggard. Yeah, so they send us,
- 13:05So they send us upstairs. I talked to a very nice lady.
- 13:07At this point, I'm so beyond anything. I just want something to eat,
- 13:11I want something to drink, and I want to fall asleep. And
- 13:13it's eleven o'clock and I talked to this lady and she says, I'm be
- 13:18honest with you. You're not gonna like your options. I was like,
- 13:20laying on me. I've had three hours plus to think about this. Let's
- 13:24see we can figure out. She says, I can get you on a
- 13:26flight on Saturday morning. I was like, that's not what I wanted,
- 13:28but that's better than the sixteenth. She says. It'll take you through New
- 13:33York and get you into Dallas late afternoon on Saturday. Well that's not any
- 13:37good, she says, And I said, what's the next option after that?
- 13:41The next direct flight is Sunday. It's like, okay, well that's
- 13:43not doing me any good either. I said, how about this because I've
- 13:48been on my phone looking at available flights too anywhere. Can you just send
- 13:54me home? Mm? And he said yes, and see like, I'm
- 14:03very sorry, and and she said, and I quote, you should be
- 14:05able to get a refund on this because you didn't get to your destination and
- 14:09all this stuff happened. I was like, okay, but you use the
- 14:11most dangerous word in the English language. Should did you take any pictures any
- 14:18of this? Uh? Huh? Okay. I'm now going to show you
- 14:26a photo of my exchange where I put that of my text exchange with Spirit
- 14:37Airlines yesterday. Okay. So it starts out with this is the very end
- 14:48of my text chain over hours yesterday, okay. At the top of it,
- 14:52it says, and again this is after hours. You've been placed in
- 14:56line to chat with the representative. We are experiencing higher than normal volume at
- 15:00the moment. This was four hours later that they say this. Because I
- 15:03got I got requeued my response. I've noticed they respond back, we have
- 15:13received your message. You are currently in Q and your message will be answered
- 15:16in the order it was received. So I sent back that which is a
- 15:24human skeleton holding a cell phone. That's me I'm dead, right, And
- 15:30again the message that preceded it was, we have received your message. You
- 15:33are currently in Q and your message will be answered in the order it was
- 15:35received. Then I then replied to that message a picture of a skeleton.
- 15:41I e. Me dead, holding my phone waiting, RAJ. Can you
- 15:46read their response? We have received your message and you are currently in Q
- 15:52and the message will be answered in the order it was received. A lot
- 15:56of good, my lot of good, Dead, Dan, did did you
- 16:00have any pictures of at the airport or the line or anything? Yes,
- 16:04hang on, I didn't. Even if he was an injury attorney, it
- 16:12would be Trey mister evidence training. You know. I'm just I mean,
- 16:21that's waiting. That's that's actually halfway through the line. So where I'm trying
- 16:26to get is you see that man in the teal hat standing in front of
- 16:30the silver pole. In between that pole and that spirit sign are the two
- 16:36very haggard ladies trying to rebook people. Oh I took that photo after probably
- 16:45two hours. Yeah, you're a better man than so. You weren't even
- 16:48in the airport. So like, because I was having this thought, like
- 16:52I thought you were kind of like at the gate because at that point this
- 16:56is where I, you know, think back to drunk me, because drunk
- 16:59me. If I'm sitting at an airport all day, drunk me is gonna
- 17:02be really drunk. No. See this actually was this. They actually said,
- 17:07you people, your flight's been canceled. You need to leave the secure
- 17:10area and go downstairs where the ticketing stuff is. And it's like this area
- 17:15right here is next to baggage claim. Yeah, there's no bar. No,
- 17:19And even if there was, I'm flying solo. I can't leave my
- 17:23spot in line to go do anything like get a drink or pee. Yeah,
- 17:29so I would like to dedicate my next Uti Di Spard Airlines. And
- 17:34people always wonder like, what's the benefit the benefit of being verified on social
- 17:38media platforms. I was flying from Jacksonville to Dallas, gone with the with
- 17:45the Brad Williams to go watch AW pay per view in Jacksonville. Our buddy
- 17:49was wrestling that night. He lives in Cedar Hill. He left and his
- 17:55fight was two hours before mine. He texted me He's like, hey,
- 17:57man, just got home. Hit me when you get when you land and
- 18:00come by the house for a drink. Okay, So I get you know,
- 18:06get get through security and all that good stuff. Get to it's American
- 18:08Airlines, which is ranked number fourteenth amongst airlines in the United States. I
- 18:14didn't even know there were that many airlines left, that is correct. I
- 18:18think it's like Suncoast Charter beats them. They're actually pretty good. So I
- 18:26get to the gate that I'm at and it just says delayed, and it's
- 18:32delayed like an hour and a half, two hours whatever. So I was
- 18:33about to go to the bar, grab a drink and let me see,
- 18:37let me just ask why it's being delayed because my buddy just left, and
- 18:41she goes, oh, there's weather in DFW. I send a Twitter message
- 18:47or x now but Twitter back then to DFW Airport and I say to their
- 18:52official account, I said, is there any weather in the area and they
- 18:56said spotty rain around the Metroplex, but no ground stop. I take a
- 19:00screenshot of that and I send it to American Airlines their official account, and
- 19:06here's what I wrote. I said, you're telling everybody at the Jacksonville Airport
- 19:11that there's a ground stoppage at DFW. Here's their official response. You need
- 19:15to get these planes moving or I'm going to show every single passenger in every
- 19:21single delayed flight this message that there is no ground stoppage. And I went
- 19:26up to the counter and I said how long until we board? And she
- 19:30goes, well, again there's ground stoppage. I said, okay, and
- 19:33then our flight is ready to go within thirty minutes. They didn't even check
- 19:38my boarding pass. She goes, have a good flight, mister Sharma,
- 19:41and the snarl on her face. She was so angry. And our flight
- 19:48left before the flight that was supposed to leave before us. Jesus. Yeah,
- 19:51so that helps. I might actually take that route on this yes situation.
- 19:56Yes, a lot of times, because they've got all the rules about
- 20:00time and you know, you can spend x amount of the flight crewis you
- 20:03know, only be in the air a certain amount of time, and so
- 20:07like that may be the case. Like they actually pulled a flight crew from
- 20:10another plane put it on yours and then that plane. You said, yeah,
- 20:15I was in the elevator with the I took a picture. You said,
- 20:18the two American airlines as well, because they have their pants have a
- 20:19certain like this is the red and blue stripe, so you know it's American
- 20:22Airlines. And I took a picture of his pants and the shoes, and
- 20:26I go, what's going on with your airline? He goes, imagine flying
- 20:29for them? Yeah, that was his response. I'm like, I don't
- 20:32want to be on that guy's flight. He sounds mad. Yeah, you
- 20:37don't want to be on the disgruntled pilot's flight. No, the So here's
- 20:41here's another wrinkle on this. So they tell us originally the delay was because
- 20:45no flight attendants. Then out of nowhere, poof, it's because of weather.
- 20:48So when you're standing in line, you get to look up lots of
- 20:52things because he's trying, I'm just trying to kill time I'm on board,
- 20:53but I'm also trying not to kill whatever juice I've got left in my phone
- 20:56because I needed to talk toustomer service or whatever. That's not doing a good
- 21:02job texting me back, clearly because they killed me. But I did manage
- 21:07to look up you know, the you know, patient or not patient passenger
- 21:10Bill of Rights for airline cancelation type of stuff, and our dear friends at
- 21:12AARP had an article. So I was reading this yesterday talking about, you
- 21:17know, the things you can do if your flight gets canceled and things to
- 21:19be aware of. For one, they tell you be polite to airline customer
- 21:23service reps. I agree with that for the most part, because I know
- 21:26it's not their fault. The gay agents that are they're just relaying information what
- 21:30they're being told. I know it's not their fault. It's people above them
- 21:33that don't have to stand in front of the public and take the barrage.
- 21:38No your rights. Number two, the US Department of Transportation requires airlines to
- 21:41give a full refund to passengers if a flight gets canceled for any reason.
- 21:47Many airlines will try to offer travel valuchuers for future trips, but if you
- 21:49do not have to, but you do not have to accept credit in lieu
- 21:52of cash. If you choose to be rebooked, airlines quote have to accommodate
- 21:56on the next available flight, even with a competitor airline. But sometimes these
- 22:02options are only available in person at the airport with a customer service center or
- 22:07with a gate agent. Okay, here's my other favorite part. Airlines will
- 22:12typically offer meal and hotel vouchers if a flight is delayed, canceled due to
- 22:17staffing or mechanical issues, but they often will not do so if they claimed
- 22:22the delay is due to weather, even if the weather is on the other
- 22:26side of the country, and even the expert in the story says, but
- 22:30it doesn't hurt to ask. I asked, and I didn't receive. And
- 22:36I'm going to show you a photo of the weather that was happening as my
- 22:41flight was being canceled yesterday. Are you ready? You can check the news
- 22:44on this. This is verifiable. This was the dangerous weather in the sky
- 22:48over South Florida yesterday as my flight was getting canceled. A double rainbow.
- 22:56It's a double rainbow. You can't it's too pretty, right, No,
- 23:02I mean you're gonna You're gonna mess up the whole pot of gold situation.
- 23:04Well, I mean the cool thing was as my uber is driving me from
- 23:07my pick who picked me up from the hotel, took me back to the
- 23:11airport because I have to get back to the airport to get rebooked, because
- 23:12you can only do it in person. Apparently, even though the one person
- 23:15at the airport said they can do it on the phone. The person at
- 23:18the airport said, yeah, they could rebook you on the phone. So
- 23:19I go and take them on the phone. Took a place you on the
- 23:22phone. They said, no, you have to be in person. So
- 23:22I go on person. The uber is worried about pulling up in this zone
- 23:26to drop me off because there's all these Broward County Sheriff's deputy vehicles, And
- 23:30I said, dude, I don't think they carries. Like, why do
- 23:32you Why do you think that? I said, because that deputy right there
- 23:33is hanging out his driver's side window doing a landscape photo of the double effing
- 23:38rainbow in the sky. I think you're fine. And then and then the
- 23:45flight that was scheduled to leave for Dallas that was over sold by two spots
- 23:51that I couldn't get on left on time. Interesting. Wow. And then
- 23:57and then there's the next morning. I'll tell you about that in a second.
- 24:07You're in the tree house. Visit us online at Treehouseonair dot com.
- 24:21Time to get Daniel Cook from COOKDFW Roofing and Restoration into the treehouse. Give
- 24:25him a call for your free roof inspection eight three three Cook DFW the website
- 24:30cookdfw dot com. Daniel, are there any obvious signs to someone that they
- 24:36see like, oh, okay, this might be a clue to a problem.
- 24:38I should call Daniel Cook. Very common is like a brownish stains sometimes
- 24:44in the ceiling, because what that is is that's water that's coming through your
- 24:48roof, going through your insulation and your attic, going through your decking,
- 24:51and so it picks up discoleration in the water content, and so by the
- 24:56time it comes inside your sheet rock, it's eaten through the gypsum are the
- 25:00sheet rock itself, and so then it comes out on the bottom of that
- 25:03and it looks may look a brownish, it may look blackish, it may
- 25:07have a lot of different content, and then it grows because as that water
- 25:11absorbs in that sheet rock, it will expand out like almost like an infection.
- 25:15It just keeps on expanding out and changes the circumforts of that stain.
- 25:19So that's a common one. Also Bubbling. A lot of people don't know
- 25:22what bubbling is, but sometimes they look at the wall it looks like they
- 25:26have little bubbles and the paint will start to move away from the sheet rock
- 25:30because water's getting in between the sheet rock and the paint and it's causing it
- 25:33to bubble and shift. And so those are very common ones. A lot
- 25:37of people though, because maybe the light in their house, they can't see
- 25:41it. Maybe because their ceilings are so tall in their house they can't see
- 25:47them. So unfortunately, you know, you've got to really put some effort
- 25:51into seeing some of these items. And if you see any signs of leaks
- 25:55or damage, give Daniel Cook a called. They'll come out and fix it
- 25:57and they'll take care of you to make sure a tiny problem doesn't turn into
- 26:00a major one. Eight three three Cook DFW. That's eight three three Cook

- 26:42com. Before I tell you about what happened the next morning at the Fort
- 26:51Lauderdale, Hollywood, Florida International Airport, something will make me feel better about
- 26:59all this as much as humanly possible. Two things. One is wrong answers
- 27:03only that's coming up. It's a good one and also something else that will
- 27:10make me feel better. It's going to sound related to airline travel, but
- 27:12it's not, and that is cell you light in puba care Okay, So
- 27:17we have those things to look forward to to make us feel better about me
- 27:21not being able to be at Vermafest because of Spirit Airlines slash South Florida weather.
- 27:26Now, my one quick question, going back to the last segment,
- 27:30you didn't you didn't go. I feel like I haven't taught you well,
- 27:36you did not go your inner Indian. I would have gone and said,
- 27:40how did that fight just go? On? Time to Dallas and we're delayed?
- 27:45So I would like an explanation because you're saying it's weather and they just
- 27:48left, So can you tell me how that's possible. I never had that
- 27:53chance, I see, because by the because when I got back to the
- 27:59airport, it was around then that I noticed that that flight. As I'm
- 28:06waiting in line to talk to the rebooking people, that's when I noticed that
- 28:10that flight left. Because I got back to the airport about fifteen twenty minutes
- 28:15after that flight left. See, and they would not put you on standby
- 28:18for that flight. There wasn't a stand by to Beyond. It was already
- 28:22oversold by Tooth and they just canceled this one, so they weren't They already
- 28:26had their own issues right, and those gate agents couldn't do it, and
- 28:29I believe I'm screwed. At that point, I have to go down and
- 28:33talk to rebooking. So that's what I did. Once I'm back in line
- 28:36at the rebooking thing, Raj, I never got a chance to talk to
- 28:37anybody until it was time for me to actually talk to the other agent backupstairs
- 28:42to figure out what my actual options were. At that point, all I
- 28:47cared about was what are my options? Right now, It's eleven pm.
- 28:51I've been standing in line for over three hours this go round. I'm tired,
- 28:56I'm hungry. I lost my buzz, I lost my layover buzz hours
- 29:03hours prior, and and a smellbad because I need a shower. Been standing
- 29:10around in my own filth along with everybody else's filth up the airport. So
- 29:15then then the morning comes, I go, so I get another uber back
- 29:22to my hotel and I instead of going straight to the hotel, there's a
- 29:27beautiful, seedy, diviest of dive bars right across the street from the Hilton.
- 29:33Yeah, it seems kind of fitting, and so I said, drop
- 29:37me here. So I go in there, have a couple of drinks,
- 29:38met a lovely gentleman who's a paralegal by the name of Zeke, and I
- 29:41managed to find one of the few bars left in the United States you can
- 29:45smoke inside, and I still have the proof on my clothes. And despite
- 29:52all my history of smoking, I was not at all ever tempted to,
- 29:56like, hete me get one of those, even though it was a highly
- 29:56stressful situation, I have now reached the point where it's absolutely disgusting. I'm
- 30:00like, that's how like I normal wouldn't even want to go into a bar
- 30:03that's smoking anymore. But I didn't care. I could stumble back to my
- 30:06hotel, so anyway. Then I get about three and a half hours of
- 30:10low quality sleep because I'm by myself. I'm worried about am I going to
- 30:12wake up in time to make my seven am flight. After bat the airport
- 30:15by five, So I get to the airport, I'm sitting. I have
- 30:22a cup of coffee and at least a twenty four hour old turkey sandwich that
- 30:27I bought, but that was in the same kiosk with the coffee, and
- 30:30as I'm chewing on this cold, moist turkey sandwich, I hear over the
- 30:38public address, attention Spirit Airlines customers flying flight thirty one, twenty six service
- 30:45to Dallas Fort Worth. We were boarding and flight well is scheduled to be
- 30:49leaving on time at six am. Again, we were boarding now Zone two.
- 30:55Why it sounds familiar because I'm like, hey, that's the flight number
- 30:57I had yesterday when it got canceled. So I go to that gate,
- 31:00like, hey, what about me? So apparently what happened was they had
- 31:07looked and rescheduled a whole new flight for the very next morning and managed to
- 31:11leave a handful of us off of it. Wow, I guess, because
- 31:15it was over sold and some of us who were just hosed. So the
- 31:19only actual option I had the night before was the flights to like New York
- 31:23and stuff, even though there ended up being a flight the very next morning
- 31:30that I couldn't get on. Wow, they didn't tell you about it,
- 31:33and they didn't tell other passengers about it. I'm guessing, so it's people
- 31:37were the next one. So I guess somehow in all of that flux of
- 31:44the afternoon. That flight filled up and I didn't even though it was my
- 31:48original flight, and I even paid for a seat, So the whole whole
- 31:53trip got hosed. Makes you wonder, though, It's like somebody you know,
- 31:59going through this, watching just the incompetence and and and frustration that that
- 32:05goes on, and you know, and eventually they just go up there and
- 32:07you know, go Hi, my name is Bob Pittman. You belong in
- 32:10radio. I believe there's an afternoon slot with your name on it. They're
- 32:24just they're just incompetent enough, aren't you Yes, And then it is it's
- 32:36like, look, I mean, uh, cable providers, cell phone service
- 32:42providers, utility companies, whether it's what I deal with with Wappa here Er
- 32:46Cotton, Texas, airline industry, those are all industries where they're all full
- 32:53of bad guys, and typically everyone has a bad thing to say about every
- 32:59single company that operates in those spaces. Right, people are saying, what's
- 33:02what you get for? You know, flying Spirit Airlines? Dam Well yeah
- 33:06I get that, but I've also had major issues on other airlines. That's
- 33:08why I relegated myself to even try Spirit in the first place, but all
- 33:12the bad stuff I had the other ones. All it is airline travel is
- 33:15a wheel of disappointment that you just keep spinning over and over again, and
- 33:20you just land on one and you hope it doesn't disappoint you on that given
- 33:23day. But it's going to eventually it's going to catch up with you.
- 33:25It's not always going to land on the thing you want. A lot of
- 33:30times you're gonna hit a WHAMBI Yeah, I mean I was going to Reno
- 33:32and I was flying Delta because I won't fly American. Spirit didn't have any
- 33:37flights into like directly into Reno, so you had to like again, same
- 33:40thing, like either you fly to Fort Lauderdale and then Reno, which is
- 33:45a cross country so no and Delta I've never had an issue with. I
- 33:49had like one a long time ago where I was going to Amsterdam and then
- 33:52from Amsterdam to India and it was because we're flying my ex her mom works
- 33:58for Delta. We were on the you know list of you know, all
- 34:01we have to do is pay the taxes and then we can fly business class.
- 34:06And it was just a day and a half, like we just kept
- 34:08getting bumped off the standby and then the next day we were back on and
- 34:12that was the only hiccup I ever had with Delta. So this time I
- 34:15get there and it is weather like, I can see the weather coming in,
- 34:19and they're like, the flight just kept getting delayed. So I volunteered.
- 34:22So this is the Thursday and I'm like, it's only one show Thursday
- 34:24night. I can miss that, but I'll be there for the two shows
- 34:28Friday, two show Saturday, one show Sunday. I volunteered. I was
- 34:31like, can you take me off this flight. He's like, I'll put
- 34:34you on the six am to LA and then you'll be in Reno at eleven
- 34:36twenty five am. Deal get home. I start looking at the flight.
- 34:40That six am flight is now nine ten. Yeah. I'm like, okay,
- 34:45I have a two and a half hour layover in LA. I'll still
- 34:46make my connecting flight. Yep. Then it's ten ten and it's ten forty.
- 34:53Then it's ten forty six. I'm like what does that mean. Then
- 34:57it's ten fifty and I'm like, okay, I look at it. It
- 35:00says getting to La at eleven o six to lax my connecting flight. No,
- 35:06sorry, I was supposed to land at eleven twenty five in Reno.
- 35:09So if I'm in LA at eleven oh six, can't be in Reno to
- 35:13eleven twenty five. And I go, okay, they have to have multiple
- 35:15flights out. That's just logical, right. No, we'll have you in
- 35:21in Reno by eleven thirty if not Saturday. So now I'm going to miss
- 35:24the two shows Friday, and now I'm gonna miss possibly shows Sat. And
- 35:30I go and same thing with the vouchers. I was like, okay,
- 35:32so you know this is your fault. It's been delayed over three hours.
- 35:36It says one hundred and twenty minutes, but it's been delayed over that.
- 35:38So where am I going to stay when I get to La? She goes,
- 35:40h, that's up to you. No, No, you're supposed to
- 35:45you're supposed to take care of that. No weather. Yeah, oh you
- 35:50pulled the weather card, the weather card, even though it was not Los
- 35:54Angeles. Yeah, it's the ultimate. It's the ultimate airline middle finger.
- 35:59We think the thing if you ever had flown. If they're no longer in
- 36:02business, thank god, Northwest Airlines. Yeah, it was simply the worst
- 36:08airline ever. I flew them three times should have taken you know, all
- 36:15same day travel starting Dallas, go to different places whatever that was three days
- 36:22it took. It ended up being nine travel days. Oh wow, And
- 36:27that was par for the course for them. So where did you go?
- 36:31Nowhere? One was going to Montreal and supposed to be it hit Detroit and
- 36:45then Detroit to Montreal. Yeah, ended up the flight was a day late
- 36:50going from Dallas to Detroit. Got to Detroit, stuck there for a night.
- 36:55Oh I'm there, and then and then uh, we're actually were supposed
- 37:04to fly into Quebec city. I didn't had to fly into Montreal. Lost
- 37:08luggage. Oh and that was just one leg. Yeah, jesus. Yeah,
- 37:16they lost my luggage from DC to so I went on my So I
- 37:21was performing d C, went d C to Raleigh, Raley to here,
- 37:24and they lost my luggage from Raleigh to here, and they're like, it's
- 37:28gonna take us three days. We've located it in They called me the next
- 37:30day, it's gonna take us three days to get it to you located it
- 37:35in Raleigh. We found your back and then they proceeded tell me what was
- 37:37in my back, and I was like, you're not supposed to open my
- 37:40bag. No, no X ray machine. I'm like, you know how
- 37:43many shirts I have in that bag? Machine. That's a fantastical X ray
- 37:46machine. It really is. Technology is fantastic. A week and a half
- 37:51later, I gotta knock at the door and there's my back. I was
- 37:53like, yeah, Delta good. At this point, I was like,
- 37:57you know what, just keep it like I've lived without it for you've you've
- 38:00moved on. I broke up with my back. I left my bag in
- 38:08Raleigh. That just sounds like a bad drug deal. So this, this,
- 38:14this will make you feel a little bit better. Nothing like explicit videos
- 38:16of a school teacher shot inside of an elementary school to really just you know,
- 38:22uh, just get you right back in a happy place. Right,
- 38:25Yeah, let's do it. So here's here's the backstory. This happened at
- 38:30the end of May. We've got a former a former Lamar Consolidated Independent School
- 38:37District teacher Richmond, Texas, under investigation for allegedly shooting sexually explicit videos over
- 38:44self inside in elementary school classroom. Lamar CID said the woman already resigned in
- 38:50February for unspecified reason. The district said it was not aware of the videos
- 38:53until the end of May, and it was on May twenty ninth that Community
- 38:59Active held a press conference in front of the school and gave their thoughts on
- 39:06this teacher and her actions taking pornographic videos inside the classroom and posting them on
- 39:10OnlyFans. We expect for you to go to the Texas Education Agency. We
- 39:15expect for you to put a block on this teacher so this teacher cannot go
- 39:19to another school and do this type of foolishes. This can be the same
- 39:22type of teacher that can touch a child. If you taking your clothes off,
- 39:27you're smacking your behind, You're flapping your breasts out and gyrating yourself in
- 39:31a classroom where students are during the school day, and you're doing this in
- 39:37the bathroom. That is unacceptable. Real quick, do you notice her nails?
- 39:43So this is Community Activist kend just something or another. So her nails
- 39:49are of the claw variety. They're super long. Funny story at the ferry
- 39:53this morning, coming back over to Saint John, there were two ladies that
- 39:57had fingernails very similar to this, and they're debit card got stuck in the
- 40:00atm because they couldn't grab the card to get it out hilarious. I love
- 40:06watching them type at the Dallas County Clerk's office. That's all I can't.
- 40:09I can't stand it. I hate hearing it. The tapping drives me nuts.
- 40:13But anyway, uh, just just when, just when Candice wraps up,
- 40:17big time community activist kwanel X has turned to jump in here. So
- 40:22basically, what I just I'm gonna let brother Quanell state his piece and then
- 40:25I'll close it out. You really can't make this stuff up. It is
- 40:34absolutely appalling, shameful, and frightening that these are the type of educators that
- 40:40are in an elementary school preaching our children. When parents send their children to
- 40:46school, they believe their teachers are people of the utmost highest character. But
- 40:52now we write a teacher in the classroom on school hours, stripping down,
- 40:59butt naked, bending over, and showing everything on the video and all you
- 41:02could see what's cell your light hanging in pubic al. That's the only fans
- 41:09content that really just drives people wild. Notice Cannas's face in the background,
- 41:14Yes, stripping down, butt naked, bending over and showing everything on the
- 41:22video and all you could see, what's cell your light hanging in Pubic cab.
- 41:25This is a disgrace and a shame that this is the type of educator
- 41:30and teacher that is in the classroom. And she because she needs to be.
- 41:35Because if you're gonna be a teacher showing all that in the classroom,
- 41:38you need to be clean shaven and no bumps. That's what I was gonna
- 41:42say. It's like, you need to be a little more fit. You
- 41:45need to be doing lunges and squats and the little hip thingies and make sure
- 41:50you're clean shaving. Yeah so great, made multiple videos. Yes, the
- 41:59district was unaware until we brought this to their attention. But what we're asking
- 42:05you do now, that's always the question at these press conferences that never gets
- 42:10asked. Where did you find it? He's subscribing? He was disappointed and
- 42:16what he paid for he did not pay for Pubic and like the sons of
- 42:23bitches, I have a VIP membership plus words the goddamn feet. Where is
- 42:36her name on the talkboard? How about we start paying teachers more so they
- 42:44don't have to do only that's why he goes by X. You know the
- 42:51subscription list, not me. It's a good idea to be a community activist
- 42:55and go by a pseudonym is in that way just when your credit card runs
- 43:01through on the older fans Brimium, no one knows No, that guy's quem
- 43:07l ten. You're listening to the tree House visitors online, that Treehouse on
- 43:17air dot com. Let's get Jacqueline from Brooks Plumbing into the tree House now.
- 43:30For any and all of your plumbing ONTs and needs, give her a
- 43:32call to one eight thirty eight the website brook Plumbing Texas dot com. With
- 43:37all the rain, all the storms, I'm sure that creates problems for people,
- 43:43and they might be problems that they might otherwise have missed. Are you
- 43:46guys seeing a lot of surprise homeowners right now? Yes? Actually that's a
- 43:50really good question. I got called to a house the other day Peer Andbeam
- 43:54and they said the crawl space was basically full to the subfloor with water.
- 43:59It turned out that the bulk of it was actually rain water, and their
- 44:01insurance company would not pay for a remediation team. And it just happened to
- 44:06be Oliver's truck. And Oliver keeps a sump pump on his truck. So
- 44:08we said, hey, we're going to lend this to you, but we
- 44:10need it back. We're going to leave it here overnight and we'll come back
- 44:14and investigate. We were able to roll out the possibility of like a freshwater
- 44:17leak being the cause of all the water and the cross space, but we
- 44:20were able to identify a very small leak on the kitchen sewer line. And
- 44:25when you've got a leak on the sewer system, it doesn't leak all the
- 44:28time, it just leaks when you're using it. So and the leak was
- 44:31small, and he's like, oh, well, I have had problems with
- 44:34the kitchen. I have to get it snaked on a semi regular basis.
- 44:37I'm like, well, you've got a defect there. But we've been seeing
- 44:39a lot of people who are just finding defects that they thought were plumbing,
- 44:44especially in peer and beam houses. I had a secondary one where they were
- 44:47like, I'm sure it's a leak, and it was actually my insurance adjuster's
- 44:50personal home one of them, and we got there and said, no,
- 44:52you have no plumbing leaks, but you've got a massive hole on the back
- 44:55side of your house and that's skirting around the the crawl space. And he
- 45:00never goes in his backyard I guess and had no idea it was there.
- 45:04And so it's just been interesting stumbling over. Sometimes plumbing sometimes just happenstance issues.
- 45:09But I'm over the rain at this point in time, and I'm very
- 45:13glad. I think we're done for a little while. I think, well,
- 45:16if your house is not done with water and you're not sure where the
- 45:20hell it's coming from, called Jacqueline and her very very fine team at Brooks

- 49:00Taco bell. Right after she placed the order for Yanni was overcome by stomach
- 49:04cramps. So there you have it. A woman had a surprise baby inside
- 49:10of a Taco Bell. A few minutes later, she came out, but
- 49:15then almost immediately, it's like the pain hit me once again. I went
- 49:20back in the bathroom, and this time when I sat down, there was
- 49:23no standing back up. That's when things got scared. That's usually what people
- 49:27say when they go to the bathroom of Taco bell. I looked down and
- 49:31I was like, that's when I realized I was still bleeding even more.
- 49:35In a panic, she called her husband, who works to VCU Medical Center,
- 49:38crying. She's breathing heavy. So immediately I'm like, babe, was
- 49:43wrong, And she's like, how fast can you get to me? So
- 49:46I'm like, oh god. Jamars Jackson put his phone on speaker and began
- 49:52racing out of the hospital when something stopped him dead in his tracks. I'm
- 49:57running past the Panera bread and then I I hear her let out this good
- 50:01wrenching scream. Then a terrifying moment of silence. I'm still painting. I'm
- 50:07like, Babe, say something, and there she was like, oh my
- 50:09god, Oh my god. I'm like, what's wrong. What happened?
- 50:13She was like, I just had a baby. Oh that's not the that's
- 50:20not on the value menu. All of this leading up to this is just
- 50:24you know, things you would find every day. The Taco Bell, stomach
- 50:30cramps, crying, screaming, and surprise babies. That's what you get for
- 50:37ordering the baby belgronde, and we named the child Chilupa. The family said
- 50:47the doctors told them she may have experienced what is known as a cryptic pregnancy.
- 50:57That's a rare condition where expectant mothers do not feel or notice any signs
- 51:01or symptoms until late in the pregnancy, or like in this case, when
- 51:06they suddenly have a baby at Taco Bell. Did they wrap her up in
- 51:12tortillas? Poor jannit is going there, God damn it. I can't believe
- 51:22we bought back the Mexican pizza. Should lift that off the minuor it's just
- 51:38too dangerous. You are right though, and it's like you are right though.
- 51:45The janitor is like, you know what. He goes in the bathroom
- 51:46to clean up after the surprise baby incident inside the bathroom with the Taco Bell,
- 51:51saying, you know what, what happened to the good old days when
- 51:52it was good old fashioned diarrhea? Damn diablo sauce there it is Episode one
