- 1:43Speaker 3: get into a little bit later. On another attempt on
- 1:46Speaker 3: the life of former President and GOP nominee Donald Trump,
- 1:49Speaker 3: a man pointed a rifle into a golf course or
- 1:51Speaker 3: onto a golf course in West Paul Beach where the
- 1:53Speaker 3: former president was playing yesterday. Now, after initially saying it
- 1:58Speaker 3: was not an attempt on the life of Trump, now
- 1:59Speaker 3: the FBI says the guy was Ryan Wesley Ruth or
- 2:05Speaker 3: ralth have heard it pronounce both ways, and he had
- 2:07Speaker 3: an AK forty seven. He was fifty eight years old,
- 2:10Speaker 3: had lived in North Carolina most of his life before
- 2:12Speaker 3: moving to Hawaii. He apparently posted quite a lot on
- 2:16Speaker 3: social media about the war in Ukraine, had a website
- 2:20Speaker 3: where he was raising money to recruit volunteers to go
- 2:23Speaker 3: to Kiev to fight against the Russian invasion. Going back
- 2:26Speaker 3: to twenty twenty, he had made a post on what
- 2:28Speaker 3: was then known as Twitter saying the former president would
- 2:31Speaker 3: be elected again if he were to issue an executive
- 2:34Speaker 3: order to prosecute policeman's conduct. Now, over the last couple
- 2:38Speaker 3: of years, he had stated his support for President Biden
- 2:41Speaker 3: and now Vice president and Democratic nomine Kamala Harris. He
- 2:45Speaker 3: was not a Republican or Democrat, though he's actually registered unaffiliated,
- 2:49Speaker 3: and what we know at this point, he had had
- 2:51Speaker 3: multiple run ends with the law in North Carolina in
- 2:54Speaker 3: the past. In two thousand and two, he was convicted
- 2:56Speaker 3: of possessing what was called a weapon of mass destruction,
- 3:00Speaker 3: and there are reports that he may may have at
- 3:04Speaker 3: least at one point took part in some sort of
- 3:07Speaker 3: a barricade type situation involving police. Now that was of
- 3:12Speaker 3: about an hour or so ago, that had not been confirmed.
- 3:14Speaker 3: As for West Virginia Senators Capitot and Mansion, as well
- 3:18Speaker 3: as Gubnatural candidate and Attorney General Patrick Morrissey, current governor
- 3:22Speaker 3: and Republican US Senate candidate Jim Justice, and State Democratic
- 3:25Speaker 3: Party chair A delegate Mike Pushkin, all out with statements
- 3:28Speaker 3: condemning the assassination attempt. Well, of course, get back to
- 3:31Speaker 3: more of this later on this show a time allows,
- 3:33Speaker 3: and certainly Hopy's going to get into it coming up
- 3:36Speaker 3: at the top of the hour. You've heard on the
- 3:40Speaker 3: show in the past. Tony Hodge on the show before.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Tony is the vice chair of the State Republican Party,
- 3:44Speaker 3: but he's ventured out with another project having really nothing
- 3:47Speaker 3: to do with his role within the party, totally independent
- 3:50Speaker 3: of his role there. Tony started a podcast primarily focused
- 3:54Speaker 3: on faith and family last time he was on this show.
- 3:57Speaker 3: In fact, that's what we talked about those two particular
- 3:59Speaker 3: sub Jake, he's not got this podcast that's quite frankly
- 4:02Speaker 3: becoming pretty pretty big, big hit, not only here but
- 4:05Speaker 3: across all across al Gore's interwebs. So I'm going to
- 4:09Speaker 3: talk to Tony about that. Plus your hometown baseball team,
- 4:12Speaker 3: the Charleston dirty Birds have made the playoffs, have played
- 4:14Speaker 3: two here tomorrow night and then also well actually one
- 4:18Speaker 3: tomorrow night on Wednesday night, I should say over Gomar Ballpark.
- 4:20Speaker 3: Jill Garrett from the Dirty Birds is here with all
- 4:22Speaker 3: the info you need. A little bit later on in
- 4:25Speaker 3: the show as well, Plus calls the text to welcome

- 4:36Speaker 3: Big event happening this Saturday, Kadas State for It's to
- 4:39Speaker 3: benefit the camc's Children's Advocacy Center. It's called the We
- 4:43Speaker 3: Can Climb. And Robbie Queen is the Senior Development officer
- 4:47Speaker 3: for the CAMC Foundation and Marine run Ye and the
- 4:49Speaker 3: coordinator of the CAMC Children's Advocate Center both join us
- 4:53Speaker 3: to talk about it's Robbie, good morning, Welcome to the show.
- 4:56Speaker 5: Good morning, Dave, it's great to be back.
- 4:57Speaker 6: Thanks for having us.
- 4:58Speaker 3: Thank you for me and here Maureene, welcome them to
- 5:00Speaker 3: the show. The first time you've been on this show. Right,
- 5:02Speaker 3: it is but you've been on some of the other
- 5:04Speaker 3: stations and thanks for having saved the best for last.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Is that what you're saying absolutely absolutely not hearing this,
- 5:13Speaker 3: he's taking it that what exactly is the c AMC
- 5:16Speaker 3: Children's Advocacy Center.
- 5:18Speaker 7: So you know, I always say we do the work
- 5:21Speaker 7: that no one wants to think about. We know that
- 5:23Speaker 7: kids in our community and across our state and country
- 5:28Speaker 7: physical and they need someone to take care of them.
- 5:33Speaker 8: And so we get referrals from multitudes of different community agencies, physicians, parents,
- 5:42Speaker 8: and we provide the services of what's called a forensic interview,
- 5:47Speaker 8: where we have staff that are trained to talk to
- 5:50Speaker 8: kids in a way that is considered neutral, child friendly
- 5:55Speaker 8: to try to figure out what's going on in their life.
- 5:58Speaker 8: And then we have specially trained medical providers who provide
- 6:04Speaker 8: medical evaluation and assessment. We have therapists who provide counseling
- 6:09Speaker 8: free of charge to kids, and then also people called
- 6:13Speaker 8: family advocates who help the family to understand and deal
- 6:17Speaker 8: with what's going on. And so it's kind of a
- 6:20Speaker 8: one stop shop for the evaluation and treatment of these children.
- 6:24Speaker 3: And sometimes I think when we have these situations, Marine
- 6:28Speaker 3: and Robbie with kids in these situations. Sometimes it can
- 6:32Speaker 3: be no matter what the situation is, illness obviously, or
- 6:35Speaker 3: some sort of whatever, it can be just as difficult
- 6:37Speaker 3: in the families because the families just don't know. I mean,
- 6:39Speaker 3: they can leave, they can leave the medical aspect up
- 6:41Speaker 3: to the professionals, but there's so many other things that
- 6:44Speaker 3: go into it that they just don't know how to handle, right.
- 6:47Speaker 8: And you know, we know statistically that ninety to ninety
- 6:50Speaker 8: five percent of the people who abuse children are someone
- 6:54Speaker 8: they know, love and trust. So for that parent, right
- 6:57Speaker 8: that has not hurt their child. It's grandparent, it's an
- 7:01Speaker 8: and an uncle, it's a sibling, and so that is
- 7:04Speaker 8: really devastating to them to have someone that they trusted
- 7:09Speaker 8: to be a caregiver to their child to abuse that
- 7:13Speaker 8: trust in the worst.
- 7:14Speaker 3: Way of all people you know in the family. Now, Robbie,
- 7:18Speaker 3: you guys are doing a five k trail run and
- 7:20Speaker 3: a two and a half mile trail hike. Is that right?
- 7:23Speaker 9: That's right?
- 7:24Speaker 3: Believe it or not. I'm not really big into that stuff.
- 7:26Speaker 3: I know you're going to find that hard to believe.
- 7:28Speaker 5: That's the other breaking news of the day, right, I'm
- 7:30Speaker 5: not in the fitness.
- 7:31Speaker 3: I'm in the in the fitness, cheeseburger in my mouth.
- 7:34Speaker 3: But this is a five k trail run and a
- 7:36Speaker 3: two and a half mile trail height to support the
- 7:38Speaker 3: Advocacy Center. It's going to be this Saturday, Kanaal State
- 7:41Speaker 3: Forest Shelter number three, is that right?
- 7:43Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 7:44Speaker 3: So what exactly goes on there?
- 7:46Speaker 5: You know, Marine listed a host of services that they
- 7:49Speaker 5: provide at the Children's Advocacy Center and it's because of
- 7:52Speaker 5: events like this with weekend climb that they were able
- 7:56Speaker 5: to provide those services at no calls to the child
- 7:58Speaker 5: or family. If there's an insurance involved, that's build, but
- 8:02Speaker 5: the child and family they do not receive a bill
- 8:04Speaker 5: for anything that is any of the services that are
- 8:06Speaker 5: provided at the Children's Advocacy Center. So this event helps
- 8:11Speaker 5: raise funds to support the work that the Children's Advocacy
- 8:14Speaker 5: Center does and the staff there. This is a five
- 8:18Speaker 5: k trail run two and a half mile hike. So
- 8:20Speaker 5: if you're into the trail running, this is a great
- 8:22Speaker 5: event for you if you just like to take a
- 8:24Speaker 5: nice hike on the last day of summer fall starts
- 8:29Speaker 5: on Sunday. If you want to get out and take
- 8:30Speaker 5: a hike. This would be a great event too. The
- 8:32Speaker 5: event starts at eight am. Registration starts at am. The
- 8:36Speaker 5: event starts at nine am at Kanawa State Force Shelter
- 8:39Speaker 5: Number three. Should be a great morning weatherwise. We were
- 8:41Speaker 5: looking at the weather before we came in, like it
- 8:44Speaker 5: is right now outside that morning should be a good time.
- 8:47Speaker 3: Now, is this a new event?
- 8:48Speaker 5: This is actually the tenth annual, so it is the
- 8:52Speaker 5: newest event in the CAMC Foundation's host of events that
- 8:56Speaker 5: we do. This is the third year that we've worked
- 8:58Speaker 5: with Maureene and her staff too to conduct this event.
- 9:02Speaker 5: But it's the tenth year for it, and we have
- 9:04Speaker 5: seen continued growth year after year, and I think this
- 9:07Speaker 5: year is proving to probably be a record year for us.
- 9:09Speaker 3: We certainly hope. So it's nine sixteen. But Dave Allen
- 9:11Speaker 3: Chilling five. Any line brought to you apart by Jute
- 9:13Speaker 3: for the best and security systems. We're both your home
- 9:16Speaker 3: or business. Talk to Juke Joot of Tay's Valley Visit
- 9:19Speaker 3: protected by Jute dot Com. People want to get involved.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Do we have sponsorships available or on that.
- 9:26Speaker 5: We are winding down our sponsorships, you know, probably by
- 9:29Speaker 5: the end of today we'll have to have signed sent
- 9:32Speaker 5: off to print, but other than that, we are encouraging
- 9:35Speaker 5: folks to get out and enjoy the day. They can
- 9:37Speaker 5: register online through the end of the day on Wednesday,
- 9:41Speaker 5: the seven eighteenth, and that can be done via our
- 9:46Speaker 5: website CAMC Foundation dot org, where they can call our
- 9:50Speaker 5: office at three oh four three eight eight nine eight
- 9:52Speaker 5: six zero. Once registration goes down online, we'll accept registrations
- 9:56Speaker 5: over the phone, and we'll also accept registrations on site
- 9:59Speaker 5: that morning.
- 10:00Speaker 9: The cost to.
- 10:01Speaker 5: Register thirty dollars. That includes a nice long sleeve T
- 10:05Speaker 5: shirt branded for this year's event, plus some other swag
- 10:08Speaker 5: that we have to include in our bag. We have
- 10:10Speaker 5: had a great response from sponsors in the community this year.
- 10:14Speaker 5: These events don't happen on their own, and if it
- 10:17Speaker 5: was not for the generosity of the community here and
- 10:21Speaker 5: both businesses and individuals realizing the importance of the work
- 10:25Speaker 5: that has done at the Children's Advocacy Center, this wouldn't
- 10:28Speaker 5: be possible. So the donors have really stepped up to
- 10:33Speaker 5: help provide these services that are much needed.
- 10:36Speaker 3: Big event again, it's going to be happening this Saturday,
- 10:38Speaker 3: Cannon State for US Shelter number three. It's kind of
- 10:40Speaker 3: where everything gets going. And what's the time again?
- 10:43Speaker 5: Sure, registration starts at eight am, the event starts at
- 10:46Speaker 5: nine am. And again, folks can sign up on our
- 10:49Speaker 5: website CAMC Foundation dot org or they can go give
- 10:52Speaker 5: us a call at the office at three four three
- 10:54Speaker 5: eight eight nine eight six zero.
- 10:56Speaker 3: All Right, Robbie, appreciate you being here. Maureen, great to
- 10:58Speaker 3: have you on the show. Don't let this be the
- 11:00Speaker 3: last time, and you don't have to bring this guy
- 11:01Speaker 3: with you every time. You realized that. Okay, we wish
- 11:04Speaker 3: the best of luck with everything this weekend. Thanks a lot,

- 14:41Speaker 3: voice of the Birds, marketing and dang near everything else
- 14:44Speaker 3: that needs to be done there joints us now, Jill,
- 14:46Speaker 3: good morning, welcome to the show.
- 14:47Speaker 12: Good morning, thank you. Happy playoff week.
- 14:49Speaker 3: Absolutely, it was a little slow to get there last week.
- 14:54Speaker 3: But the Birds are heading to the playoffs, and at
- 14:56Speaker 3: least two of the games will be here Tomorrow night
- 14:58Speaker 3: and Wednesday night against Gastonia.
- 15:00Speaker 12: Correct, so's the best of five series. First two games
- 15:02Speaker 12: start Tomorrow and Wednesday, and then we play in Gastonia Friday,
- 15:05Speaker 12: and then if necessary, Saturday Sunday.
- 15:07Speaker 3: Okay, So, so we got two here and then the
- 15:11Speaker 3: rest is that what you said earlier.
- 15:12Speaker 12: The rest of the three are in Gastonia. If we
- 15:14Speaker 12: win this series and the Championship series would start here
- 15:17Speaker 12: again next Tuesday and Wednesday. But let's not get ahead
- 15:19Speaker 12: of myself.
- 15:20Speaker 3: Yes, well, it's kind of funny because I was talking
- 15:22Speaker 3: to Jill. We were texting back and forth on I
- 15:24Speaker 3: guess what Thursday, and that's the At that time, the
- 15:28Speaker 3: Birds had to win Thursday night to make the playoffs,
- 15:30Speaker 3: and I said, well, let's have you win. But then
- 15:32Speaker 3: I said, now, wait a minute, let's wait till they're
- 15:33Speaker 3: actually in, because I know how sports people can be
- 15:37Speaker 3: about superstitions and about jinxes and things like that, so
- 15:40Speaker 3: I wanted to wait till the ink was dry and
- 15:42Speaker 3: they were officially info before we got you in. But
- 15:46Speaker 3: you're here, and now, how how's the ticket's gonna work?
- 15:48Speaker 3: Just like a regular game or what regular game?
- 15:50Speaker 12: Regular prices for tickets, you can go online at dirty
- 15:52Speaker 12: words baseball dot com or come over to the box
- 15:54Speaker 12: office on Morris Street. But the promotions are a little
- 15:57Speaker 12: bit different. Are basically combining all of our best prim
- 16:00Speaker 12: motions of the season into these two days. So both days,
- 16:04Speaker 12: kids twelve and under get in for free. It's bark
- 16:06Speaker 12: in the park where you can bring your dog, and
- 16:08Speaker 12: we also have two dollars hot dogs, soda, beer, and popcorn.
- 16:12Speaker 3: Popcorn. Yeah, And I think that's kind of cool that
- 16:15Speaker 3: you're doing that, because you know, the Birds do all
- 16:18Speaker 3: sorts of promotions, you know, every night something you know
- 16:20Speaker 3: going on there, and you do the Thursday Thursday and
- 16:22Speaker 3: you do the Bark in the Park and the fireworks
- 16:23Speaker 3: and whatever. But this is really probably the most popular ones,
- 16:28Speaker 3: or are the are the bark in the Park and
- 16:29Speaker 3: the two dollars deals and so you're in the kids
- 16:32Speaker 3: under twelve admitted free, So you're doing that for both nights.
- 16:35Speaker 12: Right, I think other than fireworks, it's probably the best
- 16:37Speaker 12: promotions that we have in terms of what minor league
- 16:40Speaker 12: baseball is supposed to be of family friendly, so kids
- 16:42Speaker 12: get in for free, and then also it's affordable. We're
- 16:45Speaker 12: two dollars food, beer, soda. So it should be a
- 16:48Speaker 12: great time coming out. We have plenty of tickets left
- 16:50Speaker 12: and we just want to pack the house and make
- 16:51Speaker 12: sure that our boys feel supported by their hometown team.
- 16:54Speaker 3: Talk about the overall season for the Dirty Birds. I mean,
- 16:56Speaker 3: the way that the league works is it's divided up
- 16:59Speaker 3: into two different seas and let's just kind of give
- 17:01Speaker 3: us a review of the entire season.
- 17:03Speaker 12: Yeah. I mean in the first half we were off
- 17:05Speaker 12: to an amazing start where I was thinking, oh my gosh,
- 17:07Speaker 12: championship team, no doubt. And then we had a lot
- 17:10Speaker 12: of guys get picked up by major league teams, which
- 17:12Speaker 12: is great, we're happy for them, but we really saw
- 17:14Speaker 12: a plateau, even a little bit of a downhill, if
- 17:16Speaker 12: you will, where at the second half I was thinking, man,
- 17:20Speaker 12: I don't think we're gonna have any chance, and all
- 17:22Speaker 12: of a sudden, with the same guys that we've had
- 17:24Speaker 12: a few more pickups in the bullpen, we've had a
- 17:26Speaker 12: great run in the second half, and we have some
- 17:28Speaker 12: momentum going in against Gustonia.
- 17:30Speaker 3: I mean, they just kind of, like you said, they
- 17:32Speaker 3: picked it up. And and when you're talking about about
- 17:35Speaker 3: the way that the structure of baseball is, as you said, Jill,
- 17:39Speaker 3: it's a good thing when your players get noticed, But
- 17:42Speaker 3: for people that are trying to run the organization, you're like, hey,
- 17:45Speaker 3: we're glad for We're glad that that that gym got
- 17:48Speaker 3: picked up, but we gotta get somebody to take Jim's
- 17:53Speaker 3: to Jim's place. How's the crowds been this season?
- 17:55Speaker 12: Crowds have been great, we are on track to break records.
- 17:58Speaker 12: I mean, look, weekends are always an exciting time. So
- 18:01Speaker 12: that's why we put a lot of our great promotions
- 18:03Speaker 12: for the weekdays, because we want people to come out
- 18:05Speaker 12: to the ballpark on Tuesdays and Wednesdays too.
- 18:07Speaker 3: We're talking to Joe Garon of the Dirty Birds here.
- 18:09Speaker 3: They have made the playoffs, the Dave Allen Show and
- 18:12Speaker 3: five It Hey Live. Brought to you apart by Hustans Pizza.
- 18:14Speaker 3: This month at your favorite Hussans get a large a
- 18:16Speaker 3: ten inch pepperoni pizza and an eight inch chocolate chip
- 18:18Speaker 3: cookie for twenty three ninety nine. Now I am presuming
- 18:21Speaker 3: because Jill, throughout the season, you guys have changed names
- 18:24Speaker 3: a couple of times just for promotional But what was
- 18:26Speaker 3: the one related salt that you just didn't like?
- 18:28Speaker 12: The Saltown Dirty Birds.
- 18:30Speaker 3: Yeah, Saltown dirty Birds. But this is all dirty birds, right.
- 18:32Speaker 3: This is no no, no salt, no, no Charlie's, no anything.
- 18:36Speaker 12: This is all dirty birds, all dirty birds. We need
- 18:38Speaker 12: the dirty Birds to win at all and that's who
- 18:40Speaker 12: we're going to be.
- 18:41Speaker 3: And the weather we were Robbie Queen my last guest,
- 18:43Speaker 3: and now we're talking about the weather looks pretty good,
- 18:45Speaker 3: because we definitely need some rain. I like anybody's going
- 18:47Speaker 3: to be plaining about the rain, but we'd like to
- 18:49Speaker 3: not have it during the game. And from what I
- 18:51Speaker 3: saw and earlier this morning, it looks like any rain
- 18:54Speaker 3: that we get probably would be earlier in the day tomorrow,
- 18:56Speaker 3: which is perfect.
- 18:57Speaker 12: I mean, again, we play on turf at Gomart Ballpark,
- 18:59Speaker 12: so if we have rain in the morning, that's great
- 19:01Speaker 12: for the area and we can still play. So if
- 19:03Speaker 12: you see rain in the forecast, do not worry. This
- 19:05Speaker 12: game is happening.
- 19:07Speaker 3: Let's talk about the community support of the Dirty Birds.
- 19:11Speaker 3: I mean, Charleston's been a baseball town for many, many years,
- 19:14Speaker 3: going back to the Charlie's and the Senators and the
- 19:18Speaker 3: Wheelers and the alley Cats and the Power and so
- 19:20Speaker 3: on and so forth. That's continued. And you've only this
- 19:25Speaker 3: is your first year here and you've been around baseball
- 19:28Speaker 3: for some time. I think you'll attest to the fact
- 19:30Speaker 3: that Charleston's a baseball town, right.
- 19:33Speaker 12: Remember I moved here at the end of February to
- 19:35Speaker 12: become the manager of community Relations, so I kind of
- 19:37Speaker 12: didn't really know what I was getting myself into. In
- 19:39Speaker 12: a new community, a new area. But the support has
- 19:42Speaker 12: been amazing where I mean, I just saw you at
- 19:45Speaker 12: Ribfest lasts last weekend and we just have a Dirty
- 19:47Speaker 12: Birds table out and people automatically come up and say, hey,
- 19:50Speaker 12: what's going on with the Dirty Birds? I heard you're
- 19:51Speaker 12: making the playoffs. Just the support has been great and
- 19:54Speaker 12: it really is a testament to Andy Shea and the
- 19:56Speaker 12: management as well of how they want to be a
- 19:58Speaker 12: part of this community. They this community and the community supports.
- 20:02Speaker 3: Us, and there is again a sense every game is important.
- 20:06Speaker 3: But when you start talking playoffs, then you know, you
- 20:09Speaker 3: may get some people that haven't been to a game
- 20:11Speaker 3: in a while to say, hey, I'm I want to
- 20:13Speaker 3: come out for.
- 20:13Speaker 12: This, right, I mean, definitely come because it's going to
- 20:16Speaker 12: be electric. You know, the toast section with toast Man
- 20:19Speaker 12: is going to be crazy right behind home plate. We're
- 20:21Speaker 12: still going to have all of our fun promotions going on. So, yes,
- 20:24Speaker 12: the focus is a little bit more on baseball because
- 20:26Speaker 12: we want to win, but the fan atmosphere is still
- 20:29Speaker 12: going to be fantastic and.
- 20:30Speaker 3: Talk about this league. I mean, there were some questions
- 20:32Speaker 3: because you know, over the years, Charleston Baseball has been
- 20:34Speaker 3: in a variety of different leagues, and this this league
- 20:37Speaker 3: has been a bit different bit of the change, but
- 20:40Speaker 3: overall it looks like it's worked out well.
- 20:41Speaker 12: It's been great. You know, this is my first year
- 20:43Speaker 12: in unaffiliated ball, so it was different for me as well.
- 20:46Speaker 12: But the play is frankly better than what I had
- 20:48Speaker 12: the last few years, where I had some young nineteen
- 20:50Speaker 12: twenty year olds. These are guys who have been in
- 20:52Speaker 12: the major leagues, guys who want to make it to
- 20:54Speaker 12: the major leagues. The youngest guy on the team is
- 20:56Speaker 12: twenty three, and I think the oldest is in his forties,
- 20:59Speaker 12: so we have a whie and just the level of
- 21:02Speaker 12: talent has been great. For example, I just found out
- 21:05Speaker 12: who our two starters are for this week. It's Keiva
- 21:07Speaker 12: Sampson and Christopher Rogondo. Both of them have big league experience.
- 21:11Speaker 12: So it's it's an amazing league to be a part of.
- 21:13Speaker 3: And let's talk about the guys that have been called up.
- 21:15Speaker 3: As you said, you know, you had an amazing first
- 21:17Speaker 3: half of the season, and with that comes the you know,
- 21:19Speaker 3: the plucking way of the players. You know, they get
- 21:21Speaker 3: caught up. Talk about some of the guys that did
- 21:23Speaker 3: get a call.
- 21:24Speaker 12: Yeah, none of them have made it to the major
- 21:27Speaker 12: league just yet, exactly. They're in affiliated. A lot of
- 21:30Speaker 12: them are in double A, triple A on the first
- 21:31Speaker 12: one that comes to mind is Kevin Maton where he
- 21:34Speaker 12: is now with the Twins. And he wasn't even our
- 21:37Speaker 12: opening day starter. He was on the bench for opening
- 21:40Speaker 12: day and then he played first base and he hit
- 21:42Speaker 12: amazing and he did not sit another day until he
- 21:46Speaker 12: got picked up by the Twins. So he was a
- 21:48Speaker 12: great pick up for them. We had some amazing starters.
- 21:52Speaker 12: Kevin McGowan, a former Big leaguer. He got picked up,
- 21:54Speaker 12: so did Trey Shuepock. And when those two got picked up,
- 21:57Speaker 12: that was when we started having a little downfall because
- 22:00Speaker 12: we needed some more pictures. But we're again. We're excited
- 22:03Speaker 12: for them. We keep up with their careers as much
- 22:04Speaker 12: as possible, and we wish them nothing but the best.
- 22:07Speaker 3: All right, let's review again, Jill before we let you go,
- 22:09Speaker 3: because I know you got a lot to do to
- 22:10Speaker 3: get ready for the So we're playing two games to
- 22:12Speaker 3: Go Ballpark tomorrow night and Wednesday, six thirty five. Start
- 22:17Speaker 3: time gates open at thirty five thirty and it's all
- 22:20Speaker 3: the two dollars promotions that you love, from the popcorn,
- 22:23Speaker 3: to the beer, to the water, to the sodas and
- 22:26Speaker 3: kids twelve and under get in.
- 22:28Speaker 12: For free, yes and to bark in the park where
- 22:30Speaker 12: you can bring your dogs both nights.
- 22:31Speaker 3: Again, we want to make sure people realize that that
- 22:33Speaker 3: the promotions we talked about are good Tuesday night into
- 22:36Speaker 3: Wednesday night, so definitely we've got two and then you
- 22:39Speaker 3: head down to Gastonia after that, and we need to
- 22:42Speaker 3: pack the ballpark tomorrow night to make sure that the
- 22:45Speaker 3: Birds continue what's been an amazing season for them. Jill Garren,
- 22:49Speaker 3: little miss everything for the Dirty Birds. I appreciate you
- 22:52Speaker 3: being here. We'll see at the ballpark tomorrow night.
- 22:54Speaker 12: Absolutely, thank you.

- 26:11Speaker 3: well since he was here last. He started his own podcast,

- 26:19Speaker 3: to talk about it. Tony, good morning, Welcome to the show.
- 26:21Speaker 16: Good morning, Dave.
- 26:22Speaker 4: It's good to be here, and I do want to
- 26:23Speaker 4: tell you right now I'm serving as Secretary of the WHA.
- 26:26Speaker 3: Okay, I'm sorry, Secretary.
- 26:29Speaker 4: We've switched up roles. But anyway, still an officer in
- 26:31Speaker 4: the West Virginia Republican Party. And I want to say
- 26:33Speaker 4: this real quick. I'm actually feeling good this morning. I'm
- 26:37Speaker 4: uplifted because your previous guest said that they have players
- 26:41Speaker 4: on their professional baseball team that range from their twenties
- 26:45Speaker 4: all the way into their forties.
- 26:46Speaker 16: And as a man in his forties, I'm.
- 26:48Speaker 4: Glad to know that I am still could be eligible
- 26:51Speaker 4: to play professional baseball.
- 26:52Speaker 16: So I'm feeling invigorated today.
- 26:53Speaker 3: You know, she didn't say anything about fifties, which is
- 26:55Speaker 3: where I am. Right, that's kind of the cutoff.
- 26:57Speaker 16: Yeah, that's uh, you'll have to do with that.
- 26:59Speaker 3: I guess.
- 27:00Speaker 9: I guess.
- 27:01Speaker 3: Let's get right to it. And I want to hear
- 27:02Speaker 3: about this podcast. First of all, what's it called.
- 27:05Speaker 16: It's called Viewpoint with Tony Hodge?
- 27:07Speaker 3: Okay, and what is the subject? Where it's available? Give
- 27:09Speaker 3: us all the details.
- 27:10Speaker 4: Yeah, so the subject matter. What we do on Viewpoint
- 27:13Speaker 4: is we talk about worldview issues. And worldview is kind
- 27:18Speaker 4: of like just what it says, it's how people view
- 27:20Speaker 4: the world, and so people have different worldviews. You may
- 27:23Speaker 4: have a Christian worldview, you may have a non religious worldview.
- 27:26Speaker 4: Your worldview you know your religion, may be politics, I
- 27:29Speaker 4: don't know, but everybody has a worldview, and what we
- 27:31Speaker 4: like to do is we like to dissect people's worldviews
- 27:34Speaker 4: and then see how worldviews intersect with our politics, how
- 27:39Speaker 4: it intersects with our daily life. And so it was
- 27:43Speaker 4: kind of a negative space that I detected. Especially in
- 27:46Speaker 4: West Virginia, we don't have a lot of programming that
- 27:50Speaker 4: covers that kind of thing, and so I thought, well,
- 27:52Speaker 4: if there's no one doing it, why not do it?
- 27:54Speaker 4: And I'll tell you I've been very, very pleased with
- 27:57Speaker 4: the results. I was just looking this morning before I
- 28:00Speaker 4: came on the air because I wanted to have my
- 28:01Speaker 4: facts in order. But we, believe it or not, are
- 28:04Speaker 4: now coast to coast. We have listeners in Pennsylvania, Chicago, Texas, Oregon,
- 28:09Speaker 4: even Mexico. So we're in one other country, but we're
- 28:14Speaker 4: in almost all fifty states. I think it's about forty
- 28:17Speaker 4: some states now. Of course all over West Virginia that's
- 28:20Speaker 4: our most popular listening area. But yeah, we have we
- 28:23Speaker 4: try to have interesting guests on and it's so let
- 28:27Speaker 4: me tell you, so one thing that you do and
- 28:30Speaker 4: what hopy does you Guys play a very important role
- 28:34Speaker 4: for the public. You bring people on, just like the
- 28:37Speaker 4: guests you've had today, and you put forth, you know,
- 28:39Speaker 4: information that's interesting to the public. Let people know what's
- 28:41Speaker 4: going on out there.
- 28:42Speaker 3: Well, that's the that's the plan. Doesn't always work out
- 28:44Speaker 3: that way.
- 28:45Speaker 16: Well until you had me on, Yeah, and then everything changed.
- 28:47Speaker 3: Yeah we're going.
- 28:49Speaker 16: But no, what you guys do is very is very important.
- 28:51Speaker 16: But me coming on.
- 28:53Speaker 4: So I come on your show from time to time,
- 28:55Speaker 4: and I go on and interviewed in other places. And
- 28:58Speaker 4: a lot of times when I come on, am interviewed
- 29:01Speaker 4: in short, you know, twenty minute bits or whatever the
- 29:03Speaker 4: case may be. A lot of times it's talking points.
- 29:06Speaker 7: You know.
- 29:07Speaker 4: I'll come in, I'll and I'll have talkers prepared. That's
- 29:09Speaker 4: what we call them in the business, talkers. I'll have
- 29:10Speaker 4: some prepared.
- 29:11Speaker 3: I love that he's using he's using the lingo now, right,
- 29:14Speaker 3: we have talkers.
- 29:15Speaker 16: Yeah, I'm coming along so but but but everybody does.
- 29:19Speaker 4: Just like your previous guests, I know that they came
- 29:21Speaker 4: in prepared with the information that they can get out
- 29:24Speaker 4: in a specified period of time.
- 29:26Speaker 16: And that's important and there's a role for that. But
- 29:28Speaker 16: I found a lot of times when I would come on.
- 29:29Speaker 4: Let's say, for instance, on this program, we would get
- 29:32Speaker 4: textures or callers, and you know, there may be something
- 29:36Speaker 4: that I'm trying to put forth that I don't quite
- 29:38Speaker 4: have enough time to fully explain.
- 29:42Speaker 3: You know what, most some of the guests on my
- 29:44Speaker 3: show are in ten to fifteen minute segments for the
- 29:46Speaker 3: most part.
- 29:46Speaker 4: Sure, and a lot of times people's ideas take longer
- 29:49Speaker 4: than that to get out, and so we come on
- 29:50Speaker 4: and we try to get out as quickly as possible.
- 29:52Speaker 4: But with the podcast format, which doesn't compete with this
- 29:56Speaker 4: at all, what we do is we may take one
- 29:58Speaker 4: guest and do a de I may have some interesting
- 30:01Speaker 4: person on and say, okay, let's sit down and talk
- 30:03Speaker 4: for an hour two hours. You know, however, you however
- 30:06Speaker 4: long you want to sit down and talk, and then
- 30:07Speaker 4: let's dig deeper than just your talking points. I don't
- 30:10Speaker 4: I want to know your talking points. But then once
- 30:12Speaker 4: you release those, I want to know, Okay, why do
- 30:14Speaker 4: you believe that, what's the worldview behind that? Why are
- 30:17Speaker 4: you saying?
- 30:19Speaker 16: Why do you have the position that you have?
- 30:20Speaker 4: And so so far it's been very popular where we
- 30:24Speaker 4: have high listenership, and it's growing and growing every day.
- 30:26Speaker 3: Give me an example of some of the shows. I mean,
- 30:28Speaker 3: just a couple of guests that you've had, a couple
- 30:30Speaker 3: of topics that you've gotten into, because I did want
- 30:32Speaker 3: to reiterate that you're doing, Tony, this podcast totally separate
- 30:36Speaker 3: from your role as now secretary with the State Republican Party.
- 30:39Speaker 3: This is not sanctioned in any way by the State
- 30:41Speaker 3: Republican Party. This is just Tony the dude.
- 30:44Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 30:44Speaker 3: The other wise it's you're kind of independent on this.
- 30:47Speaker 3: So give me an example of some of the topics
- 30:49Speaker 3: some of the guests that you've had on the show.
- 30:51Speaker 4: Yeah, So it is independent from the Republican Party. Our chairman,
- 30:53Speaker 4: Matt Herritch, he he also has plans to do something,
- 30:57Speaker 4: but his will be more in his role with Chairman
- 30:59Speaker 4: of the Publican Party, so he'll cover that space.
- 31:01Speaker 16: This is me on my own, separate from that. So
- 31:04Speaker 16: a few examples.
- 31:05Speaker 4: So one of my early guests was an author by
- 31:09Speaker 4: the name of Leonidas Johnson.
- 31:11Speaker 3: He's been on the show before.
- 31:12Speaker 4: Yeah, he's actually been on the show before. He's very good.
- 31:15Speaker 4: And he wrote a book called Raising Victims, The Pernicious
- 31:18Speaker 4: Rise of Critical Race Theory, and it talks about just that,
- 31:23Speaker 4: and so I had him on the show to talk
- 31:24Speaker 4: about critical race theory. The interesting thing about him is
- 31:27Speaker 4: he's a black man, and so I hear him speak
- 31:30Speaker 4: about it from his point of view, from his worldview,
- 31:32Speaker 4: and he brings a whole perspective that maybe I don't
- 31:35Speaker 4: always see all those angles, you know, that he sees.
- 31:38Speaker 3: A perspective that you or I or maybe others could
- 31:40Speaker 3: not understand.
- 31:41Speaker 16: Right, Yeah, exactly.
- 31:42Speaker 4: And it's interesting because you know him and I, I mean,
- 31:45Speaker 4: we agree on these things. But so he came on
- 31:47Speaker 4: and talked spoke about critical race theory, the history of it,
- 31:52Speaker 4: the Marxist worldview that's behind it, and then how it's
- 31:56Speaker 4: affecting our culture today. So we talked about that from
- 31:59Speaker 4: all different respectives. But the interesting thing about him was
- 32:02Speaker 4: is we didn't just talk about that. He's also a
- 32:05Speaker 4: very interesting fellow because he does theater work. He writes screenplays,
- 32:11Speaker 4: he writes theater plays, he does all these things.
- 32:13Speaker 16: So we talked about that too. So and then we
- 32:15Speaker 16: talked about why do you do that, what interests you?
- 32:18Speaker 12: What?
- 32:18Speaker 4: What role does theater and things like this have in
- 32:21Speaker 4: our society, you know, So we go deeper than just
- 32:24Speaker 4: talking about your talking points, so to speak. Another individual
- 32:28Speaker 4: that I had on was Aaron Wren. He he authored
- 32:31Speaker 4: Life in the Negative World, which I talked about on
- 32:33Speaker 4: a little bit on this show the last time I
- 32:34Speaker 4: was on, and he talks about how how America no
- 32:39Speaker 4: longer uh sees Christianity as a positive and he talks
- 32:43Speaker 4: about the history of that and going into how you know,
- 32:46Speaker 4: America when we were founded, most of our founders cited
- 32:52Speaker 4: the Bible more than any other work of writing ever
- 32:57Speaker 4: by far, by, far, far far, And he talks about
- 33:00Speaker 4: that in the book.
- 33:01Speaker 16: But but that was at a time.
- 33:02Speaker 4: Whether or not you believe this nation is a Christian nation,
- 33:05Speaker 4: we can all agree, I mean, because it's history. I mean,
- 33:08Speaker 4: it's it's just fact. We can all agree that the
- 33:10Speaker 4: nation was founded on biblical principles.
- 33:13Speaker 16: That's a fact. I mean, there's just no getting around it.
- 33:16Speaker 4: So but now today a lot of our Christian principles
- 33:20Speaker 4: are seen negatively, and so we talked about that with
- 33:23Speaker 4: Aaron Ren, and we we kind of we got into that. Now,
- 33:25Speaker 4: the program normally, unless something breaking happens, the program normally
- 33:29Speaker 4: will come out every Tuesday morning, and so tomorrow Tuesday morning,
- 33:33Speaker 4: we'll have a new program out and I talk with
- 33:34Speaker 4: the doctor Jeff Myers. He he runs a program called
- 33:41Speaker 4: Summit out in Colorado, and we're going to talk about
- 33:43Speaker 4: the Israel conflict with Hamas and the terrorist organization Hamas,
- 33:49Speaker 4: how they came in and and uh and you know,
- 33:52Speaker 4: bombed and raped and killed people there in Israel. And
- 33:55Speaker 4: we're going to talk about the world views behind that,
- 33:57Speaker 4: why that's happening, the history of it, how long it's
- 33:59Speaker 4: been going on, and why this problem still persists today.
- 34:02Speaker 3: Talking to Tony Hodge again about this podcast. Now, last time,
- 34:06Speaker 3: Tony that you were on the show, I had you on,
- 34:08Speaker 3: not necessarily again to talk about politics, although there's a
- 34:12Speaker 3: lot of the two things to touch each other a lot,
- 34:15Speaker 3: but this was not about politics. This was just about
- 34:17Speaker 3: faith and family and things of that nature. Boy, did
- 34:21Speaker 3: we get the response when you were on the show.
- 34:23Speaker 3: Has there been negative response to your show? Because here's
- 34:26Speaker 3: the thing about podcasts, there's so many of them out there.
- 34:30Speaker 3: People generally speaking, they don't It's not like terrestrial radio
- 34:33Speaker 3: or even television or whatever, or a newspaper where people
- 34:36Speaker 3: pick it up and they read it. And so I
- 34:37Speaker 3: don't agree with that or whatever. People that are looking
- 34:40Speaker 3: for a podcast, whether it's yours or whether it's sports
- 34:43Speaker 3: related or food related or whatever, they're going to go
- 34:45Speaker 3: out looking for what interests them. So I would imagine
- 34:48Speaker 3: you'd get a lot of negative. But it's kind of
- 34:53Speaker 3: a it is kind of a different dynamic, I guess,
- 34:55Speaker 3: than what radio is. But the last time that you
- 34:58Speaker 3: were on the show, we you listened a lot of texts,
- 35:02Speaker 3: you know, some some pro and some and some con
- 35:06Speaker 3: And I know that you listened to the show daily.
- 35:09Speaker 3: Was there anything that you didn't touch on last time
- 35:11Speaker 3: you were here that you'd like to touch on today? Well,
- 35:14Speaker 3: I mean you stated that America I'm going to very
- 35:18Speaker 3: very greatly paraphrase here that it's your belief that America
- 35:21Speaker 3: has gotten way way far away from its founding, from
- 35:25Speaker 3: its Judeo Christian principles, and you stand by that.
- 35:28Speaker 16: Yes, I do.
- 35:29Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean again, like I said that, that's not
- 35:31Speaker 4: just our country being founded on biblical principles, the Holy Bible,
- 35:36Speaker 4: our country being founded on those principles.
- 35:38Speaker 16: It's it's not even up for debate.
- 35:40Speaker 4: I mean, I guess if people don't read history books,
- 35:43Speaker 4: you know, I guess they could come up with their
- 35:45Speaker 4: own conclusion. But the fact is the Bible is the
- 35:48Speaker 4: foundation of our system. As I said, the founders cited
- 35:51Speaker 4: the Bible more than any other writings ever, by far.
- 35:54Speaker 4: I mean, it's far in a way, it's not even close.
- 35:57Speaker 4: But you know, I mean when I come on show
- 36:00Speaker 4: and I talk about these types of things, faith and
- 36:02Speaker 4: family and all that, and I get all the negative
- 36:04Speaker 4: response that goes just to prove what I was just
- 36:07Speaker 4: talking about with my guest Aaron Wren, that we do
- 36:09Speaker 4: live in life in the negative world. We do live
- 36:11Speaker 4: in a world now where Christianity is not seen as
- 36:15Speaker 4: a positive force in the world. Of course, yes, Christians
- 36:17Speaker 4: think that it is. And right here in West Virginia,
- 36:19Speaker 4: I mean, you know, we are insulated a little bit.
- 36:22Speaker 4: You know, a lot of people in West Virginia still
- 36:24Speaker 4: revere the Bible, still revere the Christian way of life.
- 36:29Speaker 4: But that's it's not like that everywhere else in the country.
- 36:32Speaker 4: And you know, when you come on and you start
- 36:36Speaker 4: telling things that come from that Christian worldview and you
- 36:39Speaker 4: get those negative responses, that's just evidence that we are
- 36:43Speaker 4: heading in the wrong direction. You could come on this
- 36:45Speaker 4: show and say those same things forty years ago, and
- 36:48Speaker 4: it wouldn't even make a headline. Nobody would even think
- 36:52Speaker 4: agree with that, yeah, because that would just it'd be
- 36:54Speaker 4: like coming on the radio and saying, hey guys, the
- 36:57Speaker 4: sky outside is blue, Hey guys, the grass outside is
- 37:00Speaker 4: you would just be speaking things that aren't unusual. But
- 37:03Speaker 4: now when you come in and you talk about the
- 37:05Speaker 4: Christian worldview, it's just a whole different world. And one
- 37:09Speaker 4: thing that the podcast is going to help do. H
- 37:12Speaker 4: you did ask about if I got any negative response.
- 37:14Speaker 4: First of all, let me say the podcast will help
- 37:17Speaker 4: people who have that Christian worldview to be able to
- 37:20Speaker 4: navigate this negative world better. As far as negative response,
- 37:25Speaker 4: I haven't gotten any negative response. Now, I do always
- 37:27Speaker 4: say at the end of every program, I say, look,
- 37:29Speaker 4: if you like us, you know, follow us, subscribe, if
- 37:33Speaker 4: you really like us, give us a review.
- 37:34Speaker 16: If you don't like what we're doing, don't listen. Just
- 37:37Speaker 16: don't listen. I mean, you know, that's fine.
- 37:39Speaker 4: It's a podcast, Like you said, you search these things out.
- 37:42Speaker 4: It's not like it's getting crammed down your throat. If
- 37:44Speaker 4: you don't like it, just don't listen, you know.
- 37:46Speaker 3: And I will follow that up with what you said
- 37:48Speaker 3: about living in a negative world. Regardless of your belief system,
- 37:52Speaker 3: we do live in a negative world. It's like, we
- 37:54Speaker 3: live in a world now where we want to be
- 37:57Speaker 3: offended and we want to argue with people, and all
- 38:01Speaker 3: you got to do is just go on any social
- 38:03Speaker 3: media feed and it's just And I do not think
- 38:08Speaker 3: that it's healthy. I mean, I'm not a psychologist or
- 38:11Speaker 3: physician or anything like that, but I will say I
- 38:13Speaker 3: don't think that it's help I mean I have seen
- 38:15Speaker 3: people nearly have strokes and aneurysms by something that they
- 38:19Speaker 3: read on Facebook. Keep in mind, before you get all
- 38:23Speaker 3: upset about something on Facebook that was probably written by
- 38:25Speaker 3: somebody setting on the toilet, keep that in mind. Okay,
- 38:29Speaker 3: So let's you know, I mean, I think we need
- 38:32Speaker 3: to dial it back a little bit. And okay, scroll on, brother,
- 38:36Speaker 3: you know, scroll on. And I'm seeing right now in
- 38:40Speaker 3: our world of the world that we live in now,
- 38:43Speaker 3: this is and this is I'm going to put this
- 38:46Speaker 3: totally on social media. And then we've all seen the meme.
- 38:49Speaker 3: And I don't advocate violence many stretch of the imagination,
- 38:52Speaker 3: but the meme that says that what Mike Tyson may
- 38:54Speaker 3: or may not have said. Nobody knows whether actual said
- 38:56Speaker 3: it or not. Social media has made people way too
- 38:59Speaker 3: comfortable for saying something not getting punched in the mouth,
- 39:01Speaker 3: you know, for it. And I'm very much paraphrasing that,
- 39:04Speaker 3: but I think that's kind of where we live. People
- 39:07Speaker 3: just live to be offended, and it's just not healthy, man,
- 39:12Speaker 3: It's just not healthy in my opinion.
- 39:14Speaker 4: Well, I like to comment on that because you bring
- 39:16Speaker 4: up social media. I actually talked about this on the podcast,
- 39:18Speaker 4: so I have a little thought on this social media thing.
- 39:21Speaker 4: So a lot of people will blame the negativity and
- 39:24Speaker 4: all this on social media and things of that nature. Twitter, Facebook,
- 39:30Speaker 4: all of this, but I actually like to take a
- 39:32Speaker 4: step back. I don't think it's social media per se.
- 39:36Speaker 16: And I'll tell you why.
- 39:37Speaker 4: We had social media way back in the late nineties,
- 39:41Speaker 4: in the early two thousands. Okay, we had MySpace. A
- 39:44Speaker 4: lot of millennials will remember that. Facebook came out very
- 39:49Speaker 4: early two thousands, and then Twitter later on. But we
- 39:52Speaker 4: had social media and the negativity wasn't quite there yet.
- 39:56Speaker 4: What is the difference. Well, later on in the two
- 40:00Speaker 4: thousands was the release of the smartphone, and I think
- 40:04Speaker 4: the smartphone is actually the car prit.
- 40:06Speaker 16: And here's why.
- 40:07Speaker 4: When before when we had when we had social media,
- 40:09Speaker 4: before the smartphone, what you would have to do is
- 40:12Speaker 4: get off work, go home, dial into your internet connection. Yeah,
- 40:16Speaker 4: pull up your social media, look at it, see pictures,
- 40:19Speaker 4: say what you want, and then you have to log
- 40:21Speaker 4: back off. Now, the immediacy of it, there's so many
- 40:25Speaker 4: emotional responses.
- 40:26Speaker 16: I've done it myself. I'm guilty of it.
- 40:28Speaker 4: If you'll see something, you'll you'll have an emotional response,
- 40:30Speaker 4: you'll immediately pull out your phone and you'll just vomit
- 40:33Speaker 4: into your social media.
- 40:35Speaker 16: I've done it.
- 40:36Speaker 3: I'm not And it's available. As I said earlier, I
- 40:38Speaker 3: used the example of setting on the toilet, but it's available.
- 40:41Speaker 3: And I'll give you a good example of where social
- 40:43Speaker 3: media has gone where I think it's gone way too far.
- 40:47Speaker 3: Yesterday my wife and I went out for breakfast yesterday morning.
- 40:50Speaker 3: We are setting at a local establishment, having having breakfast
- 40:54Speaker 3: very early because we're early people, very early yesterday morning,
- 40:56Speaker 3: having breakfast across from us. There were three people sitting there.
- 41:00Speaker 3: I don't think that they got off their phones the
- 41:02Speaker 3: entire time. Here here's the kicker. They were all I
- 41:05Speaker 3: would say sixty plus. Oh well, and that group. So
- 41:08Speaker 3: this don't don't look at young people and say, you
- 41:11Speaker 3: young people in your you know, mommy's daddy's grandparents are
- 41:14Speaker 3: just as guilty as well. It's we're not designed to
- 41:16Speaker 3: be connected, yeah all the time, and we're not designed
- 41:18Speaker 3: to go around being offended by what by by certain connectivity.
- 41:22Speaker 16: So to speak.
- 41:23Speaker 4: Yeah, it's the immediacy of the smartphone. The smartphone is
- 41:25Speaker 4: what changed the world. It changed the world on the
- 41:27Speaker 4: level of like the model t Ford. That's how uh
- 41:31Speaker 4: impactful the smartphone has been. Before, before the smartphone, you
- 41:34Speaker 4: would have a time filter, but before you could go
- 41:37Speaker 4: on social media and vomit out your stuff.
- 41:40Speaker 3: That's I've never really thought about it.
- 41:41Speaker 4: Yeah, it's the smartphone, that's the culprit. It's not necessarily
- 41:44Speaker 4: so everybody wants to blame social media because that's where
- 41:46Speaker 4: we see it. But but you got to back up
- 41:48Speaker 4: a step and that's where it's at. Hey, I do
- 41:50Speaker 4: want to say one thing before we go.
- 41:52Speaker 3: Well, you know you've got text waiting here too, right, Oh.
- 41:54Speaker 4: Okay, all right, well we can get to the text.
- 41:56Speaker 4: I do want to I do want to tell the
- 41:57Speaker 4: listeners this, So tomorrow on the podcast to be talking
- 42:00Speaker 4: about Israel. Next Tuesday on the podcast, we're going to
- 42:02Speaker 4: be talking about assistance suicide in euthanasia. I don't know
- 42:06Speaker 4: if West Virginia voters are aware, but on your ballot
- 42:08Speaker 4: this November the fifth, there will be an amendment to
- 42:11Speaker 4: our constitution that would protect West Virginians against euthanasia. And
- 42:16Speaker 4: it's something that conservatives everywhere will support. But we're going
- 42:21Speaker 4: to talk about next Tuesday on the podcast. If you
- 42:23Speaker 4: point with Tony Hodge, We're going to talk about why
- 42:27Speaker 4: we should protect West Virginia's against euthanasian.
- 42:30Speaker 3: It's already illegal in West Virginia.
- 42:32Speaker 4: It is, Yeah, it is the constitutional part of it.
- 42:34Speaker 4: Would bolster, would put wait? Wait, put weight behind that
- 42:37Speaker 4: by the people?
- 42:38Speaker 16: Is all it is.
- 42:39Speaker 3: Yeah, but it'll be on the ballot November.
- 42:41Speaker 16: Yeah, it is already illegal.
- 42:42Speaker 2: Yes.
- 42:42Speaker 3: Let me knock out a couple of texts here, will
- 42:44Speaker 3: we let you go? This is for Tony Hodge. Is
- 42:45Speaker 3: a texture I suspect my wife has committed adultery? What
- 42:48Speaker 3: is the recipe for the tabernacle water described in numbers
- 42:51Speaker 3: five seventeen through twenty eight, And how will I know
- 42:54Speaker 3: if the water produced a miscarriage and cause my wife's
- 42:56Speaker 3: fighs to rot, so that she shall be cursed to
- 43:00Speaker 3: her people. Somebody taking something literally there, But do you
- 43:02Speaker 3: want to comment on them?
- 43:03Speaker 4: Well, I mean I do take a lot of what's
- 43:05Speaker 4: in the Bible literally. But one thing I will say
- 43:07Speaker 4: is that's you know that Numbers is old covenant. The
- 43:10Speaker 4: old covenant has has ceased to exist, as it says
- 43:12Speaker 4: in Hebrews, it's it is, it's ceased.
- 43:16Speaker 16: We are now under a new covenant.
- 43:17Speaker 4: So a lot of a lot of that stuff people
- 43:20Speaker 4: pull out of Numbers in Leviticus was literally for an
- 43:22Speaker 4: old covenant that Christians, through through the blood of Jesus Christ,
- 43:26Speaker 4: no longer have to live under.
- 43:27Speaker 16: Thank God, you know, because it would be tough.
- 43:29Speaker 3: Thick, says Dave. If it takes you more than fifteen
- 43:31Speaker 3: minutes to explain how an idea isn't racist or sexist,
- 43:34Speaker 3: your idea may be the problem.
- 43:37Speaker 16: Well, I haven't heard any racism or sexism on the
- 43:40Speaker 16: show today, So.
- 43:40Speaker 3: Tex says Dave. Does he have a deep dive episode
- 43:43Speaker 3: on Hitler was actually a decent guy?
- 43:45Speaker 4: That Hitler was not a decent guy at all, And people,
- 43:48Speaker 4: let me tell you something. People who say that they
- 43:50Speaker 4: are and people who platform them. That kind of stuff
- 43:53Speaker 4: has got to stop. We can't have revision as history. Look,
- 43:58Speaker 4: you know, I'll call I don't care what side you're on,
- 44:00Speaker 4: I will call you out. If it goes against the truth,
- 44:03Speaker 4: then no, you shouldn't be platformed. We shouldn't be talking
- 44:06Speaker 4: about it.
- 44:06Speaker 16: Hitler was bad.
- 44:08Speaker 4: Churchill did a lot of good things and was allied
- 44:10Speaker 4: with the Americans at World War two to stop the
- 44:13Speaker 4: Nazi regime. And we did a good thing by doing that.
- 44:16Speaker 4: Anybody who comes in and tries to revise the history
- 44:18Speaker 4: on that is crazy.
- 44:20Speaker 3: Tex says. A new episode this week find folks on
- 44:23Speaker 3: both sides. Tex says, oh good, tomorrow's episode can cover
- 44:26Speaker 3: the fine points of starred them out of Gaza Nice.
- 44:29Speaker 3: This is a texture.
- 44:30Speaker 4: Well, you know the Gozzins. We're going to talk about
- 44:32Speaker 4: this on the podcast. But the Gozzins came into Israel
- 44:35Speaker 4: and not only raped the women, but they mutilated them.
- 44:40Speaker 4: They raped them in front of families, they cut off
- 44:42Speaker 4: their breasts. There was a lot of things that the
- 44:44Speaker 4: Gosins did that is well documented, not in obscure, documented
- 44:50Speaker 4: in obscure places, documented by the mainstream media. Go look
- 44:53Speaker 4: it up, Go look up the terms I just talked about,
- 44:55Speaker 4: and you'll see what really happened over there. Their terrorists
- 44:58Speaker 4: came in and and harmed innocent people. And for that,
- 45:04Speaker 4: you know, then you start getting into just war theory.
- 45:06Speaker 4: Is it just to go in and is it just
- 45:09Speaker 4: to go in and stop these homosterists?
- 45:12Speaker 16: I believe it is.
- 45:13Speaker 3: Tex says America has gotten away from its founding principles.
- 45:16Speaker 3: Black people are free and women can vote. We need
- 45:18Speaker 3: to get back to the founding principles of this great country.
- 45:20Speaker 3: Using Christianity to justify racial and gender superiority.
- 45:24Speaker 4: Well, you know, that's you know, a lot of crazy
- 45:27Speaker 4: people will use their religion to promote crazy ideas. And
- 45:31Speaker 4: the texture is correct. Although he's trying to be snid
- 45:34Speaker 4: towards me, he is correct. He well true, but it
- 45:39Speaker 4: is true that some Christians try to use the religion
- 45:43Speaker 4: to promote slavery and things like this, which is ridiculous.
- 45:46Speaker 16: We look back at that, we come on, it is
- 45:48Speaker 16: absolutely ridiculous and things like that.
- 45:50Speaker 4: Like I said, anything that goes against the truth should
- 45:52Speaker 4: be called out, and that's ridiculous.
- 45:53Speaker 16: But he has no standing. Obviously he's just trying to
- 45:57Speaker 16: fool with me.
- 45:58Speaker 3: Tex says, biggest victim complex out there is from Christians.
- 46:02Speaker 3: Their existence is wrought with persecution, says a Texture.
- 46:06Speaker 4: I will say, we don't have a lot of persecution
- 46:08Speaker 4: in the United States. And the way you would define
- 46:11Speaker 4: persecution as actually physical you know where your your livelihood
- 46:15Speaker 4: is threatened. We don't have a lot of that in
- 46:18Speaker 4: the United States. But Christianity is seen as a negative
- 46:21Speaker 4: now in this country, and we need to reverse that.
- 46:22Speaker 3: Final text here says Tony doesn't want revision is history ironic.
- 46:26Speaker 3: His entire history of the US and Christianity is revisionists.
- 46:30Speaker 16: Prove it, prove it. Let's go, let's come on the show.
- 46:34Speaker 16: Let's prove it all right.

- 51:27Speaker 3: to make something that is illegal more illegal, sort of redundant,

- 51:33Speaker 3: to get into this a little bit later on. When
- 51:35Speaker 3: voters go to the polls in November, they are going
- 51:37Speaker 3: to be looking at a constitutional amendment having to do
- 51:40Speaker 3: with physician assisted suicide in West Virginia, and a lot
- 51:43Speaker 3: of people have said, well, it's already illegal, but they

- 51:48Speaker 18: Again.
- 51:49Speaker 3: I'll have more on that as we get closer to
