- 0:25lies, hidden realities, and
- 0:28the blending of fact from mythos.
- 0:31Join our hunters as they seek out the truth and
- 0:34find those who are missing in today's story
- 0:37of music mayhem.
- 0:41Welcome to episode one of
- 0:44well, this is we're calling Hunter's Haven, which is inspired
- 0:46from a YouTube series we did. But we're just taking that name,
- 0:49placing it here. So Hunter's Haven and the
- 0:52name of this campaign is music, uh,
- 0:55Mayhem. So I have that.
- 0:58Um, uh, I'm going to just
- 1:01break us into right from the start. If you don't know who these
- 1:04characters are, I'm going to just have everyone introduce themselves real quick.
- 1:06Starting to my left.
- 1:08Yeah, I'm Kenny Whitlock, uh, the boy
- 1:11Detective. Right here in Devil's Lake, North
- 1:13Dakota. Um, here to solve
- 1:16mysteries and
- 1:19eat some coughle
- 1:22crackers that I make myself.
- 1:24Nice and played by Skylar.
- 1:27Oh, yeah. Played by Skyler. He's the other guy. He has a
- 1:30more normal, uh uh.
- 1:33Next I'm picking up some
- 1:35hiccups
- 1:39as.
- 1:39I was driving home from work, testing out the voice, I thought to myself,
- 1:42kind of sounds like a young J bear shell.
- 1:46It is. Very close. Jay bear shell.
- 1:49So, Dave, um,
- 1:52so I am playing,
- 1:55uh, not sure what the voice we're going to use yet. Maybe I'll just use
- 1:58my regular voice. Go for it.
- 2:01Maybe we'll slay accent.
- 2:03We'll go for something with
- 2:06an accent, I guess.
- 2:09Uh, names. Danny, uh, Rogers
- 2:12is the name. Uh,
- 2:15playing the Snoop character. Don't you
- 2:17know?
- 2:21Got this nifty new camera
- 2:24here.
- 2:27Want it from the Radio Shack grand opening.
- 2:30Perhaps you heard about it in the paper.
- 2:34That's great.
- 2:37Okay, finally. Uh, Emily, I'm not going
- 2:40to do.
- 2:40A voice because I don't do good voices.
- 2:43You're doing a voice.
- 2:43This is my voice.
- 2:44Exactly. Also the voice of Bobby.
- 2:47Anyways, I'm, um, playing Bobby Eastwood,
- 2:51also known as Bob E. I'm playing the
- 2:53Crooked. I steal stuff for
- 2:55funsies. That's it.
- 2:58Sorry.
- 2:59Probably steal somebody's homemade
- 3:01crackers.
- 3:02Yeah, I'll take my kuggler crackers, man.
- 3:05Excellent. All right. And with that, now we all
- 3:08know the characters. Now I'm going to dive us into this
- 3:11world. Got ourselves a little intro here
- 3:14in the small, sleepy town of Devil's
- 3:17Lake, North Dakota. You best be careful of what
- 3:20lurks around the corner. Rumors and whispers
- 3:23of things going awry. A modern day menace
- 3:25preying from the shadows. This town of Woe filled
- 3:28with more tragedy than joy. This week's
- 3:31news, three kids have gone missing this
- 3:34morning. That number now has jumped to nine.
- 3:37The front page of the local news reads
- 3:40sam and Max Parker, kids of the mayor,
- 3:43have gone missing. Alongside them are four other kids who
- 3:46all were at the same party thrown by the local boy,
- 3:49Tony McCook, who has also gone
- 3:51missing. Mayor Samuel Parker has set a reward
- 3:54for anyone who can find his kids and their whereabouts for
- 3:57$25,000. The newspaper article
- 4:00continues, but for the most part, that's all you need
- 4:03to know. With that now known, you now have a
- 4:05mission. All three of you, for all your own personal
- 4:08reasons, find these missing
- 4:11kids. Their lives are ticking through
- 4:14the hourglass like
- 4:17Days of Our Lives. We find
- 4:20our three quote unquote heroes. We'll call
- 4:23them, uh, at the local bowling alley.
- 4:25Uh, we're going to call it, uh, Bob's Bowls.
- 4:29Just call them Bob's bowls. Bob's Bowls is the name of the
- 4:32local alley. Uh, we find
- 4:35Dennis, uh, Rogers, or Denny, as he likes to be called, uh,
- 4:38bowling with his nephew Kenny.
- 4:41Uh, it is Kenny's birthday, or was
- 4:44Kenny's birthday a few days past. And Dennis
- 4:47wanted to bring old Kenny for a fun game of bowling.
- 4:50Uh, Bobby is here
- 4:53alongside them, not by choice, but rather
- 4:56came to just have a night to herself to bowl a solo
- 4:58game of bowling. But Bob's Bulls is a
- 5:01packed place tonight, and she got tossed into
- 5:04their row and is playing a game with the two
- 5:07of them.
- 5:08The more you practice, the less it hurts your arm.
- 5:12And this is where we find our three characters
- 5:14with Dennis, uh, having just read this
- 5:17article out loud to them while they're bullying a.
- 5:21Was. I was looking to snag some
- 5:24coupons from the paper here and I turned it
- 5:27over to this front page story,
- 5:30don't you know? And I saw
- 5:33those zeros in my eyes. They went wide,
- 5:36like a couple of zeros themselves.
- 5:41And I thought, oh, gee, sure bad about them
- 5:44kids, but that's a lot of dough they're laying
- 5:47out.
- 5:49What was it, $25,000?
- 5:53You bet you.
- 5:54Oh, uh, my gosh, that's a lot of
- 5:57dough. Wow.
- 5:59That's what I was seeing.
- 6:01What would I do with Uncle Danny? What would you do
- 6:04with all that money?
- 6:07I don't know. I mean,
- 6:11probably upgrade the mower, I suppose.
- 6:13Yeah, you could probably get a real nice one.
- 6:17Uh, uh, Kenny's very
- 6:21nervously, uh, looking back and forth over at Denny or
- 6:24sorry, bobby kind, uh, of, like, nervous
- 6:27because, uh, he knows
- 6:30how we got in this situation where she's bowling with us, but
- 6:33he's not excited about it
- 6:36after her bullying of him back in
- 6:39school. Um, so he's just kind
- 6:42of hesitant in trying just to not talk to
- 6:45her. Hey, uh, I don't mean to
- 6:47switch a topic or anything, but, um, whose turn is it to
- 6:50bowl?
- 6:52It's mine.
- 6:54Oh.
- 6:54How about move?
- 6:57Okay. Kenny sits down.
- 7:00Uh, the blue one's mine,
- 7:02but I don't know if you brought your own ball over
- 7:05here.
- 7:06You brought your own ball?
- 7:07No, just, like, from the rack.
- 7:09Then it's not yours.
- 7:10Well, that's the one I was using.
- 7:13It's the right size for my fingers.
- 7:15It's the right size for my fingers, too, so I'm going to use
- 7:18it.
- 7:23Uh oh, wow. What a kawinky dinky.
- 7:26You guys have the same finger
- 7:29know, the grip is very
- 7:32important in bowling, don't you know?
- 7:34Yeah, that's right. That's what you always taught me, uncle denny.
- 7:36It's a really average finger size.
- 7:39Lots of, uh, people have that.
- 7:41Sure.
- 7:42It's not the size of the fingers, it's what you do with
- 7:45them.
- 7:50Kenny.
- 7:51Kenny, why don't you step out of you're still in frame
- 7:53there. As, uh, denny holds up
- 7:58his new camcorder, kenny
- 8:00steps out of the way.
- 8:01But then he leans into whisper. He's like, are we supposed to
- 8:04be recording people that we aren't related
- 8:07to? I mean, I already thought it was kind of weird that you were
- 8:10recording me, but she's not even, like, in our
- 8:12family.
- 8:13Kenny, the way I sees it, this is a great
- 8:16learning opportunity for you.
- 8:20No, you can compare your form
- 8:23to.
- 8:23Bob, uh, learning opportunity. Wait a minute, are you saying
- 8:26bob is good? Hold on. And then at this point, kenny just stops
- 8:29and watches his body goes to bowl because
- 8:32he doesn't think that she's that good and worth
- 8:35learning from.
- 8:36I ignore both of them because they're annoying
- 8:39and weird. And I pick up the little
- 8:42man's ball and I go up to throw
- 8:44it and I kind of slip a little bit and it
- 8:47bounces.
- 8:48The talon style?
- 8:50Yeah, the classic and bounces. But did
- 8:53you have the bumpers up or not?
- 8:54No, it stayed in the lane, though. I hit one
- 8:57pin.
- 8:58I think denny's pretty hardcore.
- 8:59He wouldn't put the bumpers up. Well, no one has
- 9:02bumpers up, people, um, of
- 9:05taste and honor. I see.
- 9:06Okay, uh, if we fail, we fail with our check.
- 9:09You knock over one pin, and then the ball comes
- 9:12back and you throw a second one. How's that one go?
- 9:15Um, it doesn't bounce, but improvement m
- 9:17really hurts my shoulder. I think I put too much too much yank in
- 9:20that. Um, I didn't hit any with that. I guess the
- 9:23bounce was better.
- 9:25I think this is the 10th frame.
- 9:26Huh.
- 9:28See, I don't think that there's much I can learn from that, uncle
- 9:31denny.
- 9:32That's where you'd be wrong there, kenny. You
- 9:35see, from where I'm standing, it
- 9:38looks like she's keeping her thumb in there
- 9:41too long, throwing off the release.
- 9:44Uh, so ah, it's a video of
- 9:47what not to do, guys.
- 9:48So then I turn around with the ball and I just kind
- 9:51of roll it. Hoping to hit your
- 9:54toes.
- 9:55Oh.
- 9:57Backwards. We bowling.
- 10:01But do you jump and do I.
- 10:03Jump and spin and go?
- 10:06No, I kind of dodge out of the way of this ball rolling
- 10:09towards.
- 10:09Are you trying to 100%.
- 10:12Okay, that's not groovy there.
- 10:16The balls aren't supposed to touch this side of the floor.
- 10:19I wanted to bowl by myself.
- 10:21Well, I don't know why we have to suffer for
- 10:24that.
- 10:25I don't even have my steel toes on.
- 10:32Kenny picks up that. He goes to sit down
- 10:35and picks up that newspaper because I think Denny is
- 10:37next on, um, the
- 10:40frame. And he's just looking at the article about the
- 10:43missing kids and thinking about what it would be like for
- 10:45him to get his big, uh,
- 10:49glory, uh, back if he were to solve such a
- 10:52mystery. And that's what's kind of going through his mind of
- 10:55like, what if I did,
- 10:58man, everybody would love me again.
- 11:01Um, and I'm just looking through to see
- 11:04if there was anything, any really key details in
- 11:07there about maybe the party, uh, that
- 11:10was going on. Uh, what was the name of the kid who was
- 11:13throwing the party?
- 11:14Yeah. His name was Tony
- 11:17McCook.
- 11:17Tony McCook.
- 11:18Yeah. Also, the newspaper article does go into way more detail.
- 11:21I just didn't say it. So if you have any questions about
- 11:24any of the kids also if you have any questions about
- 11:28the past kids that went missing.
- 11:30So the whole point is we're trying to find these kids
- 11:34alive.
- 11:35Well, the newspaper article says they're
- 11:37whereabouts.
- 11:39So you'd get paid if they were not alive.
- 11:42Uh, I mean, he would prefer if they were
- 11:45alive when you found I don't find these kids and then just
- 11:48kill them. Because you can you
- 11:51don't do that.
- 11:51You get paid if you find one kid, not m
- 11:54all of the kids.
- 11:56What if we find part of a kid?
- 11:57Okay, so the newspaper article, as you read it,
- 12:01the way the mayor because it has a quote from the mayor, it
- 12:03seems like he only cares about his two kids being
- 12:06found. But also, what if we find the
- 12:09other kids? The article also
- 12:11assumes, like, if you find his two kids, you're
- 12:14probably going to find all the other kids. There's not like multiple
- 12:17kidnappers.
- 12:18If I are there kidnapper, I wouldn't keep them all in the same m
- 12:21place. See, that's what all the cops think. If you
- 12:23find one, you'll find them all.
- 12:25Oh, spoken m like a true professional,
- 12:27huh?
- 12:29Hypothetically.
- 12:30Hypothetical. You are the crooked after all. You got to
- 12:33always be thinking the angles.
- 12:36Really put some thought into her character.
- 12:42I didn't even tell her beforehand we're doing a kidnapping
- 12:45kind of game.
- 12:47It's all that true crime.
- 12:48I watched.
- 12:50Out of curiosity, does it say so is
- 12:53Tony one of the kids that's missing or was it just he was.
- 12:56One of the six kids that went missing over the
- 12:58weekend. So the date is Sunday.
- 13:01Okay.
- 13:01Those kids went missing the, uh, two, uh,
- 13:04nights before a Friday evening. So the, uh,
- 13:07newspaper article goes briefly into they were having a Friday night party.
- 13:10Yeah, it went late into the night. The parents woke
- 13:13up to none of the kids being home and they can't find
- 13:15any of the six kids that were at the party.
- 13:18And then does it say if
- 13:21there were more than just those six kids at this
- 13:23party, or were those six, uh, the only six?
- 13:26Those were the only six kids. It was a small party
- 13:30and it's more like a close knit of friends kind of party.
- 13:33Yeah.
- 13:34Sounds like our party.
- 13:36More like a fun slumber party, if you will.
- 13:39Yeah.
- 13:39And there was three boys, three girls. So, you know those kind of fun
- 13:42high school slumber parties.
- 13:44A one to one ratio.
- 13:46Yeah.
- 13:47So back to the bowling alley.
- 13:50A familiar sight if you're a regular at, ah,
- 13:53Bob's Bowl. But
- 13:55Denny's unconventional
- 13:58approach to
- 14:01bowl the ball.
- 14:02Oh, boy.
- 14:03Uh, Denny's kind of talking to himself. It's all
- 14:06about the approach. There Kenny, and he's set
- 14:08up the camera on the table.
- 14:16Set up the camera to record himself.
- 14:19It's like resting on the table right
- 14:22next to the chili cheese fries.
- 14:25It's got a couple of fries in frame.
- 14:29You can see a little blob of chili.
- 14:32It's very out of focus, uh, on
- 14:35the fry, not the bowl.
- 14:38So if you've ever seen
- 14:40the movie, uh, not the Extremely
- 14:43Goofy Movie, but the Goofy Movie.
- 14:46The first one. Yeah. The first
- 14:49one, he's going off, not.
- 14:51Shrek two kind of that kind of.
- 14:53Vibe with the perfect cast. So he got
- 14:56the perfect bowl. So he
- 14:59steps up, uh, he blows
- 15:02on the ball. Huff huff waxes
- 15:05it with his sleeve of his
- 15:08bowling jersey.
- 15:10Um, a little step to the right,
- 15:13a step to the right. 1212.
- 15:17Takes three steps forward, one step
- 15:20back. Little cha cha. Uh,
- 15:23get the booty bopping. And
- 15:25then with a swing of the hips, he steps
- 15:28forward and releases.
- 15:31Yeah. Roll those dice for me. Oh,
- 15:34yeah.
- 15:37No, this is 100% Sammy pinsey. Knocks over
- 15:42seven. Knocks over seven.
- 15:48Bummer.
- 15:50Hey, that's still pretty good, though. What is it, nine? It's
- 15:52nine pins, right? Ten.
- 15:54That's still pretty good.
- 15:57Yeah, beef the one sorry, he got.
- 16:00A little bit of indigestion from those chili
- 16:03cheese fries and
- 16:06then he goes ahead and finishes.
- 16:08Do I have to roll?
- 16:09Yeah, roll. I'm going to see, this is a straight.
- 16:12I mean, assume he's getting a what's.
- 16:14Your, uh, add your
- 16:16cool.
- 16:18It's going to be a plus one for my cool. Making it a
- 16:20seven.
- 16:21Yeah. Um, you can do
- 16:24it. It's just ah.
- 16:26Um, I'm going to give you a choice
- 16:29here. Uh, either you knock over and you save the
- 16:32spare, but you also slip and fall
- 16:35in the process, or you catch yourself at the
- 16:38last second from falling, but you gutterball it.
- 16:40Denny always picks up the okay.
- 16:43Okay. So, yeah, you make a total fool of yourself.
- 16:46And, uh, this is mind you right when the camera finally
- 16:49gets in focus,
- 16:53it just adjusted just in time.
- 16:56Kenny leans over, he's like uncle. I don't even think you had this
- 16:58adjusted.
- 17:03Whoa. Hey, Spur. Kenny, are you
- 17:06okay?
- 17:08Oh, I'm all right.
- 17:09There.
- 17:10I wonder if he got that on camera. We could turn that into
- 17:13AFV don't you know?
- 17:19Uh, that might have been nine.
- 17:24I've got this idea for a new show.
- 17:28Yeah, we, uh, could get 25,000 without having to
- 17:31go find kids. Missing kids.
- 17:36I think that's how much they give out too.
- 17:38A lot for the winner. It is a lot.
- 17:42As Kenny's picking up uncle or helping Uncle
- 17:45Denny to his feet. He, uh,
- 17:48know, I think
- 17:50maybe just because you said it's Sunday,
- 17:53right?
- 17:53Yeah.
- 17:53Oh, shoot. I, uh, mean, I don't have
- 17:56work this week know? I'm still
- 17:59really focused on, uh, my career as a
- 18:02kid detective. Which is doubly
- 18:05weird when you're an adult. Sorry. Uh, he didn't say
- 18:08that.
- 18:08But what did he say?
- 18:10I'm still focused on my career as a kid detective.
- 18:13Uh, I don't know if you got work, but maybe we could
- 18:16try sleuthing around. That would be a real birthday
- 18:19present to me.
- 18:22You know what? I got some sick days
- 18:25and, man, those chili trees fries are
- 18:28really upsetting my stomach. Wink,
- 18:31wink. Might have to call in sick
- 18:34tomorrow.
- 18:35Oh, man. Uh,
- 18:38I don't think you should eat those anymore, Uncle J.
- 18:41I think you might have an acid reflux problem. Um,
- 18:44maybe stick to some things that are a little less
- 18:46acidic.
- 18:49Yeah, Bobby, maybe you should finish those
- 18:52off. Can't help myself.
- 18:54I'm lactose intolerant.
- 18:57Okay. Well, it's like that fake cheese, I think. Um,
- 19:00so I don't think there's a speck of lactose in there. If
- 19:03I'm being honest, was lactose and.
- 19:06Cholera a thing back in the 80s?
- 19:10It's not new.
- 19:12I don't know. I didn't see it anywhere on my
- 19:141980s
- 19:16popular things.
- 19:17Um, think me and Kenny ate most of the ones with cheese
- 19:20on the top.
- 19:22Also, Pepto was definitely around by this
- 19:25point, just for
- 19:27safety. Yeah, sure. Bobby,
- 19:30if you want to eat some of these fries yeah, go for it. I don't care.
- 19:34I could freeze my favorite number.
- 19:38I'm just trying to think how we get
- 19:40Bobby to join.
- 19:42Bobby, if you have any questions, uh, you can
- 19:45ask the guy holding the
- 19:48newspaper.
- 19:49Maybe rough sauce, because Bobby just thinks
- 19:52you're
- 19:5425K inadequate.
- 19:56I'm just saying, Uncle Danny. I mean twenty five k? I mean, that would really
- 19:59make up for missing days of work, no less.
- 20:01Uh, what makes you guys think that, uh, you've got what it
- 20:04takes to find these kids?
- 20:07Well, um, you probably remember back
- 20:09in the day. You remember the whole mystery of the missing
- 20:12mayor's dog. The MMM.
- 20:15You are so unlikable.
- 20:18That's what he was going for.
- 20:24As long as you're referring to in game and not out
- 20:27of game I.
- 20:30Can'T see a world in which my character
- 20:33would ever want to associate with yours.
- 20:35Then maybe she focuses more on Uncle Denny.
- 20:38To be fair.
- 20:42You could see him as such a big pushover that you could
- 20:45just take the 25K straight up form from
- 20:47him. Fair enough. That could be your in on
- 20:50it.
- 20:50Just like I pushed him in high school.
- 20:52I also really like the idea that after I say the whole
- 20:55bit about the missing mayor's thing, you immediately turn
- 20:58to Uncle Denny and say, what are your qualifications?
- 21:05That's good. We'll play with that. Yeah,
- 21:08let's go from there.
- 21:11Well,
- 21:14I've got a successful marriage,
- 21:20partially raised, three kids, and very,
- 21:24uh.
- 21:28Well.
- 21:28Just for example, just the other day, uh,
- 21:32I saw Bigfoot.
- 21:33Whoa.
- 21:34You saw bigfoot.
- 21:36Yeah, I was out in the woods
- 21:39on one of my lunch breaks. I mean, my lunch break.
- 21:42I don't take multiple lunch breaks.
- 21:45But you do take them in the woods?
- 21:49Well, yeah.
- 21:51You got to enjoy nature, Kenny.
- 21:54Oh, yeah, I forgot. You're like a lumberjack or something.
- 21:57I look work at the lumber mill. So
- 21:59I'm out in that neck of the woods, so to
- 22:02speak.
- 22:04Oh, my gosh.
- 22:06Anyways, I was metal detecting
- 22:10and caught, uh, a glimpse of
- 22:13something running through the trees.
- 22:18Pretty sure it was bigfoot.
- 22:22And your immediate thought was bigfoot, not
- 22:25a, uh, large hairy man?
- 22:28What is yours? Well, usually a large hairy man. Is
- 22:31your first thought a large hairy typically, yeah.
- 22:34Yeah, I thought it might have been Tim going on his lunch
- 22:37break jog. But he actually
- 22:40is a lumberjack. He cuts down the trees.
- 22:42Yeah, he's an interesting fellow, for sure.
- 22:45Uh, but when I went over there and investigated for
- 22:48boot prints, uh,
- 22:50it's just a big old bare
- 22:53footprint. Not a bare uh,
- 22:57uh.
- 23:04Uh, in North Dakota.
- 23:07No, all the people on Meth are over in
- 23:10South Dakota.
- 23:13Yeah, they like the warmer climate,
- 23:15but it's not out of the question, I suppose.
- 23:21But then I went to, uh,
- 23:23rewatch the tape because I film
- 23:26all my metal detecting. Well, at least since I won
- 23:29that camera before, I just took a picture with the
- 23:32Polaroid.
- 23:35It's true. He has many
- 23:38tapes of his metal detecting.
- 23:40Oh, Kenny loves them.
- 23:42So, do these guys have any experience
- 23:45with the unknown at all,
- 23:48or are you just a dad and you're just
- 23:51annoying?
- 23:52I think that's just what you ask them.
- 23:57Yeah.
- 23:57Are you just asking
- 24:00out of character?
- 24:03In character?
- 24:04Just say that. Okay.
- 24:06Well, I mean, I'm insulted, but you're
- 24:09asking about my experiences with the
- 24:11paranormal. Uh, man,
- 24:14I, uh, think I've seen some weird stuff, but I don't know if I've come to
- 24:17enough conclusive evidence to suggest that anything's
- 24:19paranormal, necessarily. Although there's a
- 24:22part of me that really believes in aliens. But I
- 24:25also will admit that that part of me was ignited after
- 24:28I saw Star Wars Return of the Jedi,
- 24:31and it was pretty dang awesome.
- 24:34So maybe it's just wishful thinking.
- 24:36Is your weapon the metal detector?
- 24:42I didn't know we were talking about weapons, but no, that's a delicate
- 24:45instrument. I wouldn't, uh, want
- 24:48to damage my, uh, technics Mark One
- 24:50model.
- 24:51He's got a special case for it and everything.
- 24:54I believe it.
- 24:55They call it the Coin computer.
- 24:58What about you, Bobby? Do you think the supernatural
- 25:01exists?
- 25:03It could.
- 25:06You know, I had an Aunt Linda. Uh,
- 25:10she used to say she could talk to her dead dog.
- 25:15So there's that
- 25:18I'm pretty sure I saw.
- 25:19I don't think I got to meet.
- 25:20Her the dog
- 25:23either.
- 25:27I don't think I talked to Aunt Linda. Why are the dead
- 25:29dogs
- 25:33what did it say?
- 25:35Oh, yeah, well, maybe that was
- 25:38before your mom married Mark.
- 25:41Yeah, it must have been. Well, uh,
- 25:44are you adopted? What?
- 25:47No, just have
- 25:49stepdad
- 25:53situation.
- 25:54Uh, anyways, the dog, uh, was
- 25:57always going on about stuff. It buried in the
- 26:00backyard. I found a few of the things, actually, with my metal
- 26:03detector.
- 26:03Hey, yeah, if you could talk to dogs more often, they're always
- 26:06burying stuff all over the place. That'd be a great way to get
- 26:09all kinds of cool stuff while you're metal detecting.
- 26:13Maybe me and Linda are
- 26:16related by blood. Perhaps I got a bit of the
- 26:19touch.
- 26:19Oh, hey, there you go. Hey, you think maybe we could
- 26:22find a dog that is dead
- 26:25that knows something about these missing
- 26:28mhm? Know, the more I think about what I just said there, that doesn't make a
- 26:31whole lot of sense. Like why is the dog dead and
- 26:34why does it know it would have had to die in the last two
- 26:37days?
- 26:37Maybe it knew too.
- 26:38Oh, and then it died.
- 26:42Or alternatively, maybe what if we went
- 26:45snooping around over at Tony's house and,
- 26:48uh, we brought your metal detector along and
- 26:51maybe one of the kids dropped something that'd be a
- 26:54clue as to what happened to.
- 26:57So, uh, what's Tony's last name?
- 26:59McCook. McCook.
- 27:01Yeah, McCook.
- 27:02M over at the M McCook house.
- 27:05I think his older brother might have been in our class.
- 27:09Stefan.
- 27:12Stefan also.
- 27:13Or was it Steven?
- 27:15The article was continued onto the second page.
- 27:18And if you kept reading, rather read
- 27:21more about the party incident stuff. Um,
- 27:24the only kid who wasn't reported missing
- 27:27by his parents was Tony. That's because his
- 27:29parents were out of town. He was throwing
- 27:32a party at their place. They don't get back till
- 27:35Monday. And they don't know if their kid
- 27:38they don't even know their kid is correct. They don't know any of this.
- 27:41Actually.
- 27:42The police haven't paged them.
- 27:44They are in the Bahamas.
- 27:47Yeah, those international calls are expensive.
- 27:50Yeah, they're cheaper after seven.
- 27:54Yeah, no, but they know their kids kidnapped. They just,
- 27:57uh, can't find a soon enough flight to get
- 27:59back.
- 28:01You're not going to leave the Bahamas.
- 28:03They're really racing back.
- 28:06Um, but yeah, so, uh,
- 28:09there was no adults around when they were throwing that
- 28:11party. So technically the house
- 28:14is empty. They don't get back till Monday.
- 28:17But, uh, Bobby, as to what else we have to
- 28:20offer what else I have to offer. I got this, uh,
- 28:24great new camcorder here. It's
- 28:27a JVC video movie, don't you
- 28:29know? You see,
- 28:32it's equipped with a video
- 28:35playback. You look in the site here
- 28:38the viewfinder. I'm getting a little
- 28:44look in the site here, and
- 28:47you can see what you just
- 28:50recorded without a
- 28:52television.
- 28:55Huh. And it records the tape. So then if you want to watch
- 28:58it on a television layer, you just pop that tape right out, put it in the
- 29:01VCR.
- 29:05So if we
- 29:08want to review whatever we find out at
- 29:10the McCook place, can view it back
- 29:13through this video?
- 29:17Yeah, I just want to loop back around.
- 29:20Bobby, uh uh, are you trying
- 29:23to volunteer with us or you
- 29:25why are you getting in on our detectiving?
- 29:29Well, you've been really invasive with me since I've
- 29:32been here.
- 29:33You came to our bowling alley.
- 29:35Really? All up in my grill. So
- 29:39I was just returning that to you.
- 29:41Um, I think
- 29:44out of the two of you, I really have the most
- 29:47experience here. Um, I have a lot of experience
- 29:50with missing things, and
- 29:53missing kids are
- 29:56basically the same.
- 30:00So I feel like I would be able to
- 30:02find them and I could potentially
- 30:06use your help.
- 30:07I mean, if you just need a ride back home, I'm sure we
- 30:10can give you a ride back home. You don't have to tack along.
- 30:14I remember your experience with missing
- 30:17things.
- 30:18Like that time
- 30:21oh, no.
- 30:25Like that time I came out to my shed.
- 30:28But, uh, I helped you find that, didn't I?
- 30:34Yeah.
- 30:34You're trying to steal my
- 30:37rack off of my mower right
- 30:40off the hood where I attached it with the
- 30:42paxi potato potato.
- 30:45You said you were looking for your lost
- 30:48frisbee or something. Like I don't know how it
- 30:51would have gotten into my locked shed, but
- 30:54he's right. Seems a little suspicious.
- 30:56But, uh.
- 31:01That shed just opened right up for me, so
- 31:03I feel like maybe you didn't lock it as well
- 31:06as you thought you did.
- 31:09I suppose Doug could have left it open.
- 31:12Doug's? My son. One of my sons.
- 31:16But what sort of, uh, experience
- 31:18with missing things do you have?
- 31:23Um, I like to
- 31:26set people up so that they can
- 31:29find their things. It's a good learning
- 31:31experience for everybody. So
- 31:34I foster those situations in which people
- 31:37have to look.
- 31:38Oh, perfect. You're like a secretary.
- 31:42You're just helping out the rest of us.
- 31:45Mhm.
- 31:49Well, I tell you what. If
- 31:51anything, if you can take some notes for
- 31:54us while we kind of take a look around
- 31:57and maybe dig some stuff up and find some clues,
- 32:00I guess that would be of use.
- 32:02Um.
- 32:06You would be good with, uh, cameras there.
- 32:10I know how to point and shoot
- 32:12things.
- 32:15That was very foreboding.
- 32:20Well, you see, sometimes with, uh, this fancy
- 32:23new gizmo, uh, I can't always get it to
- 32:26record. I press the record button, but it
- 32:29won't record. I kind of just press all the buttons at the
- 32:32same time and it works most of the time.
- 32:36Does it have batteries?
- 32:39Oh, yeah, I
- 32:41got a backup one too. In the
- 32:44car? M.
- 32:46Well,
- 32:49trying to remember if Denny has a car he doesn't
- 32:52have.
- 32:55In your backpack. You have a backup battery.
- 32:58We walked.
- 33:00You offered me a ride.
- 33:02I didn't know we didn't have a.
- 33:03Car until you don't remember walking.
- 33:06We took the mower.
- 33:11That would have looked so awkward. But also that
- 33:14definitely feels like small town.
- 33:16Also, the Bullet la is like two blocks down
- 33:19from Denny's, uh, house.
- 33:20So it looks like we'll take my car.
- 33:23Oh, well, at least she has a car.
- 33:25We don't have to oh, you got a right.
- 33:27All right, all questions answered.
- 33:30One why
- 33:33does she make everything make me feel
- 33:35uncomfortable? Everything she
- 33:38says just makes me feel nervous.
- 33:41I shouldn't talk to Sheriff, uh,
- 33:43Steve about what I did after
- 33:46Balling got.
- 33:47To rename the Sheriff.
- 33:52Is that sort of a feeling like a
- 33:54butterfly in your stomach?
- 33:56No, Uncle Denny, it's not like a butterfly
- 33:59in my stomach. I know what you're trying to do, Uncle Danny.
- 34:03You're trying to tell me that I need friends.
- 34:07I already told you that. I
- 34:10go home and I get on
- 34:13my oh shoot. What kind of computers
- 34:16they have? Do they have a computer?
- 34:17Macintosh.
- 34:19The old Macintosh.
- 34:20I get onto my Macintosh, version
- 34:231.0. I type out
- 34:26some TXT documents as I solve some
- 34:29mysteries. I write down a lot of notes, I switch
- 34:32over and I write my Star Wars fan fiction.
- 34:35And that's what I do.
- 34:38I don't need friends because that just distracts
- 34:41me from my publishing.
- 34:43Were they even called fan fictions back then?
- 34:46Oh gosh, she's listening.
- 34:53I said, uh, no, they're like
- 34:56mysteries. They're Star Wars mysteries just set in
- 34:59the Star Wars universe. But it's like, uh oh,
- 35:02where did my missing
- 35:04lightsaber? Uh, uh oh, what happened
- 35:07to Luke Skywalker's?
- 35:09Missing, you
- 35:12know, crazy stuff like, like they got to go find it. Like
- 35:15Han Solo is like, oh man, you know, I got to smuggle something
- 35:18somewhere.
- 35:19I feel like you're the type of person that writes stories,
- 35:22um, and you don't care that Luke and Leia, uh, are
- 35:25siblings.
- 35:26Okay, look, okay,
- 35:29we're not going into this.
- 35:32Let's get in your car and you drive us over to
- 35:34the what was it again?
- 35:36The McCook house.
- 35:37I almost said
- 35:40McCook.
- 35:40That's a different house. That's over in
- 35:43California.
- 35:44Let's go over to the Mansion Cook house
- 35:47and let's just look around and see if we can find some stuff. I mean, we're not going
- 35:50to be probably able to get into the house. Uh, that's
- 35:53breaking and entering. And as a professional
- 35:56kid detective, emphasis, uh,
- 35:59on kid. We
- 36:02don't do things the illegal way. We got to do things the
- 36:05right way. So we'll dig around outside the house, see. If we can
- 36:08find some clues and then, hey, man,
- 36:12we'll find a way to split the 25,000 if we find
- 36:15these kids. We'll figure that out later.
- 36:18All right? So I'm okay to go, guys.
- 36:21All head to the car.
- 36:22Dennis finished up the last, uh,
- 36:25we.
- 36:26Get into my car and I just kind of shove a
- 36:28screwdriver in, uh, the keyhole and kind of jiggle
- 36:31it around a little bit and it turns on.
- 36:34Nice. Yeah. Do you listen to
- 36:37any music while you, uh, drive?
- 36:39Whatever the person who owned the car.
- 36:41Previously was listening to, there's,
- 36:44like, uh.
- 36:46Change it credence tapes.
- 36:48Yeah.
- 36:51Like my old cher.
- 36:54Cher. That's accurate. Yeah, it's pretty good. She's
- 36:57popping some share. Nice.
- 36:58Would this fall under
- 37:01this observation of her
- 37:04starting the car like that? Would that fall under read a
- 37:07bad situation?
- 37:08If you want to roll Read a bad situation, you 100%
- 37:10could, um.
- 37:16That'S sharp. That is
- 37:18an eight mhm.
- 37:21So you could ask one question from that list.
- 37:25Uh.
- 37:29What'S my best way out.
- 37:34The door? Uh,
- 37:38I guess when you see that, you
- 37:41make, ah, kenny sit in the middle. I guess
- 37:47I'm imagining an old school pickup truck here where it's
- 37:49like, just three seats. There's no back.
- 37:52There's no back. So Kenny's just squashed in the
- 37:55middle.
- 37:56Kenny 100% sees her jam,
- 37:58um, the screwdriver into the keyhole and turned
- 38:01it.
- 38:01To start the car.
- 38:02And just thinks, man, look at how far you've come since school. You got
- 38:05an old beater truck here that you have to start with a
- 38:07screwdriver.
- 38:09Completely obliterated detective
- 38:13he notices the details.
- 38:15It's just interpreting them scenario
- 38:18that he.
- 38:18Has a lot of difficulty with.
- 38:21I crank my window down, get some
- 38:24air. A lot of smells going on in here.
- 38:26Got some share, bopping.
- 38:28Those chili cheese farts are really filling it.
- 38:30Um, up yours,
- 38:37Lactose.
- 38:40So you guys drive along and you get to the McCoy, like I
- 38:43said, like, three blocks away. This house, though, very
- 38:46big cooks, do well for themselves.
- 38:49Not as good as the Macintosh family.
- 38:51Not good as the Macintosh family. Uh, but you guys get
- 38:54to the house, and when you get there, uh, do you see, uh, the
- 38:57front door has got
- 38:59some yellow tape on it says Crime
- 39:02Scene.
- 39:03Yes, that's exactly what I like to see.
- 39:05Our Devil's Lake finest doing their
- 39:08job, getting things all situated
- 39:11up for the crime scene. Uh, obviously,
- 39:14I still have this, so we won't have a problem. And he
- 39:17takes out this child's plastic,
- 39:20uh, deputy badge that the police gave.
- 39:23Him way back when he did his
- 39:25milk.
- 39:26It means literally nothing to anyone. That's
- 39:29not just a child. It
- 39:32doesn't actually give me any extra power, but in
- 39:35mind, he still thinks it was
- 39:38legit.
- 39:38So do you just walk up to the door and just open it
- 39:41while you're holding the badge?
- 39:45Uh, I'm here to solve the case. Just open
- 39:48the door. And walk, right?
- 39:49No, but if there's any tape
- 39:52outside the house, that's, like, blocking the front yard or something,
- 39:55he just goes right under it.
- 39:56Oh, yeah, because he established earlier he's.
- 39:58Like, I'm not going to there wasn't.
- 39:59Any tape outside of the house. It was just on the door.
- 40:02Well, nobody will ask us any questions as long as I've got
- 40:05this. You guys are all, uh, the deputies,
- 40:08honorary deputies tonight, so come
- 40:11on with me. And I go out, and I start
- 40:13skulking around.
- 40:14Um, just walking around the house.
- 40:17Yeah.
- 40:18Is it still light outside at all, or is it kind of
- 40:20dark?
- 40:21It's near dark. It's around, like, 730, but in North
- 40:24Dakota. Uh, also ah, I did say in the
- 40:27start we're in mid August.
- 40:28Yeah.
- 40:28So 730. Sundown near now,
- 40:32uncle, uh, Kenny, I'm.
- 40:33Going to hand you this, and I hand him one of my walkie
- 40:35talkies. I said, just in case you're
- 40:38looking at one spot. If you find anything, radio in. I'm going to
- 40:41look here.
- 40:44Yeah, Bobby, I don't care what you
- 40:46do.
- 40:48So he's searching around the outside of the house. What are you doing here?
- 40:51Uh, Danny's getting all of his gear out of the back of the
- 40:53pickup truck. So he's got his camera on his shoulder.
- 40:57He slung his metal detector.
- 40:59You walked to the bowling alley with
- 41:02your metal detector?
- 41:05The lawnmower to the bowling alley. Uh, he
- 41:07never goes anywhere.
- 41:12He's got, like, this small case
- 41:15that he tucks into his jacket pocket.
- 41:18And, uh, he's got, like, a
- 41:20Polaroid camera around his neck.
- 41:24That's basically his equipment.
- 41:27I'm just putting on some black leather
- 41:29gloves. I start walking towards the
- 41:32house.
- 41:32Okay. Do you go right to the front door?
- 41:35Sure.
- 41:36Do you try it?
- 41:37Isn't he already inside?
- 41:38No, he's on the outside just wandering around.
- 41:40Wandering around the yard.
- 41:41All right. Sure.
- 41:41I'll try the unlocked.
- 41:43Okay, cool.
- 41:44I'll just go in?
- 41:45Sure, go right ahead.
- 41:46I'll look around. What do I walk into? Is it the living
- 41:49room?
- 41:49It's a front entryway. There's not
- 41:52much not much to note in the front
- 41:55entryway. Uh, but to your right, you can see,
- 41:58like, a living room area. And you do see, like,
- 42:00cups. And, uh, the further
- 42:03into the living room you go, if you go that way, uh, you get
- 42:06back here, and there's, like, a den where there's, like, a TV.
- 42:09And is the TV on? TV
- 42:12is not on, but there is
- 42:15a speaker system that's on in the background. It's just playing some
- 42:18music. Just on in the background.
- 42:20Share, uh, on for two days.
- 42:22It's plugged in, but yeah, it's been on
- 42:25for two days. It's currently
- 42:28playing a song by Tears for Fears called
- 42:31Shout.
- 42:32I love that song.
- 42:33Yes. Do, uh, you want to listen to the radio or
- 42:36not?
- 42:38Because I'll go
- 42:41mosey around the living room.
- 42:42Yeah, you just look around. Uh,
- 42:45and do you want to roll? Investigate a mystery.
- 42:48Sure.
- 42:49You just roll two D six, then you add sharp. That's
- 42:51not the best.
- 42:53So I got six.
- 42:55That's a fail. Well, so you just
- 42:58get nothing. You walk around and you just see what I'm
- 43:01telling you. Nothing else? You don't really see any other
- 43:03clues.
- 43:05Is there anything, um, nice
- 43:09in this living room?
- 43:10Yeah, there's a coffee table. And on the coffee table, there is
- 43:13a gold plated cigarette
- 43:16tray.
- 43:17Uh, relatively small
- 43:21palm of your hand. Can I steal that?
- 43:23Of course. You're the only one inside, too?
- 43:26Yeah, absolutely.
- 43:27No one's going to notice a thing.
- 43:29Slip that, uh, into my inner pocket,
- 43:32ash and all.
- 43:33Honestly, probably the best house to steal from, because
- 43:37cooks are going to get back so worried about their kid being gone, they won't even
- 43:39notice missing.
- 43:42They might want to have a cigarette.
- 43:43That's true. They might be a little stressed.
- 43:46They're smokers. They've got more than one ashtray. So I
- 43:49keep an eye out for any more gold plated ashtrays.
- 43:52Denny, you saw
- 43:55Bobby, uh, walk inside, and you finished getting all
- 43:58your stuff. Did you follow Bobby in, or are you going to
- 44:01follow your nephew around the outside?
- 44:06I am going to start sweeping the front
- 44:08yard with my metal detector.
- 44:13Okay.
- 44:15I get on the walkie. Uh, don't worry, Kenny.
- 44:18I'm just going to sweep the front yard here with the
- 44:21metal detector.
- 44:22All right.
- 44:22The old coin computer.
- 44:23Oh, sorry, I got to wait till you say, like, Rogers on our
- 44:26over. There we go. All right, that's
- 44:29great news. Uh, let me know if you find anything. Now,
- 44:32I think, uh, that could point us in any kind of
- 44:35direction going further over.
- 44:39So, as for Kenny, you were walking around
- 44:42the back.
- 44:43Yes.
- 44:43And you spot that the back
- 44:46door is wide open and
- 44:49has a crime scene tape over it
- 44:52as well. And you look through the back
- 44:54door and you see someone inside.
- 44:57Oh, my gosh, that could
- 45:00be Bigfoot. I get on the walkie
- 45:03talkie. Danny.
- 45:06Uncle Danny, why did you say that Bigfoot
- 45:09looked like again? Over.
- 45:11So while he's, uh, talking to his
- 45:14uncle, I'm just kind of moseying into the den area.
- 45:17Yeah.
- 45:18Would you say you're looking for jewels? Clues?
- 45:21Yeah, clues.
- 45:22Clues.
- 45:22Clues, yes. Uh, you wander back and you find, like,
- 45:25a nice little back, little area.
- 45:28Uh, it's not like a den, but it's like a room
- 45:31that's in between the den and the outside patio.
- 45:34A foyer.
- 45:35That sounds about right. Foyer, yes. A little area. There's
- 45:38a table out there. Um, and you're looking around that room,
- 45:41and you, uh, hear a voice out the sliding
- 45:44door talking about Bigfoot.
- 45:48Oh, my gosh, Uncle Danny. It's going
- 45:50up towards the foyer.
- 45:52So, uh, I'm just going to start growling
- 45:58for funsies.
- 45:59Okay. You hear growling?
- 46:01Oh, my gosh, Uncle Danny, I'm, like, 98%
- 46:04sure.
- 46:05Bigfoot start stomping my
- 46:07feet.
- 46:08How big are its feet? Over.
- 46:10Uh, I can't see its feet right now. Hold on, I'll get a closer look.
- 46:12You're stomping a feet. It sounds
- 46:15like Bigfoot's wearing boots because this room doesn't have
- 46:18carpet, so it very clearly sounds of boots
- 46:21stomping.
- 46:21Danny is making his way towards the front of the house.
- 46:24And he's like, oh, gee, I can hear
- 46:27something.
- 46:29Does Denny
- 46:30runs
- 46:33inside.
- 46:36I'll get you this tank.
- 46:42So are you coming inside?
- 46:44I'm slowly coming in from the back door.
- 46:47Diddy's seriously smashing all the buttons on.
- 46:49The camera to turn on record.
- 46:52So as you guys surround Bigfoot,
- 46:55you guys both run into the same foyer at the same
- 46:58time to see Bobby just stomping around
- 47:01growling.
- 47:02Oh, my God. Got you.
- 47:03This time, as Kenny comes
- 47:06in around the corner, I hit him with one of those.
- 47:09Oh, my God. You're not
- 47:11bigfoot. Where's the beef?
- 47:18Oh, Kitty, that was a funny look on your face there.
- 47:21Oh, um man. Did you get that on camera?
- 47:23Let me see.
- 47:26I like the viewport. Yes, you caught it
- 47:29on camera. That's actually just what you caught.
- 47:33You finally got it turned on right when you get his space. Getting
- 47:36shocked. I do like the idea that the only clear
- 47:39shots you're getting on this camera is basically the blooper
- 47:42reel of this adventure.
- 47:46Guys. Bobby, what are you doing in the house? Look,
- 47:49this badge only gives me so much permission.
- 47:52If the police came here and saw us in here, we'd
- 47:55all be in a lot of trouble. I'd probably get my badge taken
- 47:58away. I really can't lose.
- 48:00Hurry.
- 48:02Yeah, yeah, let's hurry up.
- 48:05So are you guys going to search that?
- 48:07I was going to say, uh, somebody with better Role.
- 48:09Since you're inside now, Kenny takes a quick look
- 48:12around. So you guys kind of look back and
- 48:15you, uh, ran through the room, but he looks back.
- 48:18I'm just going to tell you, I already looked back there. I didn't see
- 48:20nothing.
- 48:21Yeah, I can't trust your non detective.
- 48:23You see the room filled with red solo cups.
- 48:26Oh, my gosh.
- 48:27Some of them are tipped over some spilled
- 48:30liquid. And, uh, then you see the TV's
- 48:32turned off, but you do hear the radio going on.
- 48:35Kenny picks up one of the red, uh, solo cups and just
- 48:38sniffs it.
- 48:39Um, if you want to roll. Both of you two want to investigate a mystery.
- 48:42What does it smell like?
- 48:43You were just disgusting.
- 48:44Alcohol.
- 48:45Oh, my God. Adult
- 48:47beverages. These
- 48:50kids were committing a crime.
- 48:53Are they even worth saving?
- 48:57Here's the part we have to consider now, if it weren't for the
- 48:59$25,000 reward, I'd be questioning whether
- 49:02these kids are even worth saving at this point, to be honest,
- 49:05they've gone too far down the wrong
- 49:08path.
- 49:08Should we not present them to the police?
- 49:12Uh, yeah. Then they can suffer the adequate punishment for their
- 49:15actions.
- 49:15Jury of your peers?
- 49:17Yeah, peers. All ah. Right. And then
- 49:19with that he's going to start
- 49:22investigating Dennis.
- 49:24Investigating mystery.
- 49:25It's a good thing we're not using that mic.
- 49:26You're rolling sharp.
- 49:29I got a total of seven, so.
- 49:31You can ask one question from that list.
- 49:34I got a six.
- 49:35Oh, that shrucks huh.
- 49:38Sure is dark in here. Is it dark
- 49:41in here?
- 49:42The lights on? No, it's dark. Only if it's the light you
- 49:45guys have. Actually, no, because they left the scene as
- 49:47is. So there is some lights on this room. Funny enough,
- 49:50this is like, one of the only rooms that actually had lights on.
- 49:54Uh, m, I'm going to
- 49:56kick things.
- 49:57Off with asking what is being
- 50:00concealed here? What am I missing?
- 50:02That's a good question.
- 50:03Or what is being hidden from my sight
- 50:06amidst this first area of our
- 50:09mystery, per se?
- 50:10Okay, so you are starting to look around and you start to
- 50:13lift some pillows, some throw pillows that were on the
- 50:16couches. And you lift up the throw
- 50:19pillow and you find a wallet.
- 50:21Oh, man, I better keep this away from Bobby.
- 50:24I open up the wallet.
- 50:26The wallet is for Mr. Uh,
- 50:29Sam Parker.
- 50:30Sam Parker. That was one of the kids that's been missing.
- 50:33That's the mayor's son.
- 50:34The mayor's? Didn't he have two? Was it Sam and Max?
- 50:37Yep. Son and Max. Son and daughter.
- 50:40Yep. I come walking up to, uh, Denny, and I say, Denny, look,
- 50:43I found Sam's wallet was underneath the couch cushions.
- 50:46Why do you think he would have left his wallet
- 50:50if he was getting kidnapped? How do you think? I mean, who
- 50:52takes their wallet out, right? I mean, unless it's slid out.
- 50:55Maybe I'm looking at it. Uh, what
- 50:58do I see inside this wallet?
- 51:00Not much, because it's a wallet of a
- 51:0317 year old kid. He's got his driver learner's
- 51:06permit in it. Uh, he's got, like, $5
- 51:08and a couple of coupons to, uh, a couple of gift
- 51:11cards to the local Pizza Ranch.
- 51:14Are you going to use those coupons here?
- 51:16Well, I wasn't going to steal from his wallet. I'll
- 51:19tell you what.
- 51:19Well, check the expiration date. Maybe if
- 51:22they expire at the end of the week, he's probably not going to
- 51:25use them.
- 51:26I suppose that's a fair point. What does the expiration date say?
- 51:29Uh, August 25. That's a week
- 51:32from now.
- 51:32Oh, man. All right, well, if we haven't found them by then, we'll definitely
- 51:35have to use these.
- 51:36Yeah, I'll just have to hang on to these for safekeeping.
- 51:39Well, here, you hold on to the wallet.
- 51:40But, you know, the wallet being here, uh,
- 51:44makes it seem like this is definitely the
- 51:47last place he was. I mean, if you would have left somewhere on
- 51:49his own wheel, he'd probably take his wallet.
- 51:52That's right. Now, here's my other question, right?
- 51:55So let's say these kids are in here. They're having a party inside
- 51:57the house. Someone kidnaps them. That means they're
- 52:00going to have to take them outside the house, right? To take
- 52:03them wherever they're at. I mean, unless they're still here, which seems
- 52:06unlikely, but also seems slightly possible
- 52:09since parents are gone. But anyway, let's stick with the first
- 52:12possibility that they got taken out of the house. What
- 52:15if we go check outside the house where we're
- 52:18supposed to be, just to be clear, and see
- 52:21if there's anything that, uh, suggests that anyone was, like,
- 52:23hauled away. Any kind of tire
- 52:26tracks, maybe even or something along those
- 52:29lines. Uh, maybe it'll give us an idea where we should go
- 52:32next.
- 52:33That's a good idea there, Denny. Uh, it's getting
- 52:36dark outside.
- 52:37Uh, yeah, that's true.
- 52:39Let me see if I can find some.
- 52:44Going to hey, Bobby, I'm going to go
- 52:47rummage up some flashlights. Maybe in the kitchen. I don't
- 52:50know.
- 52:50Okay. Can I go upstairs?
- 52:52Sure. Go for.
- 52:53Uh, wait, Bobby. Oh, okay.
- 52:55All right. Uh, I do want to point out one
- 52:58thing that I should make kind of clear.
- 53:01As you guys are looking through this room,
- 53:04you notice something odd.
- 53:07If these kids were kidnapped,
- 53:10there is no signs of a struggle
- 53:12whatsoever.
- 53:15Uh, maybe they ran away. Can I find the kids
- 53:18room?
- 53:18Yeah, go for it.
- 53:19Okay. I want to look around in there
- 53:22for maybe a journal
- 53:26for this.
- 53:26Um, as you're leaving the room, you hear a
- 53:29Shock DJ starting to talk over the radio. Uh,
- 53:33um, all three of you
- 53:36hear, uh, you do you guys want to listen to the Shock
- 53:39DJ or not?
- 53:40I know that Kenny isn't I mean, he's just waiting for the
- 53:43flashlight, so there's no reason why he wouldn't I'll.
- 53:45Listen because I really liked that last
- 53:49maybe maybe they're they're coming to town.
- 53:51Oh, yeah, maybe. Yeah, that's a good point.
- 53:52Rummage up ticket.
- 53:54As you guys hear a, uh, Shock DJ kind of comes
- 53:57over the radio as the end of Shout
- 53:59by Tears for Fear. You hear him go, uh,
- 54:02hey there, folks. That was Shout
- 54:05by Tears for Fears, coming at you
- 54:08live from the Siren Song radio
- 54:11station. My name is DJ Re
- 54:14Pip, and I am bringing you today's and
- 54:17tomorrow's in yesterday's hits.
- 54:20Next up on this playlist, we got ourselves
- 54:23a classic. A billboard topping hit, the Power
- 54:26of Love by the Huey Lewis and the
- 54:28News. Hit it, Huey. And then you guys
- 54:31hear the iconic Huey Lewis thing. It
- 54:34just goes back to music, right?
- 54:35Is that our monster?
- 54:38Was that Tears for Fears, just a siren
- 54:41song?
- 54:42Well, it didn't get.
- 54:47Uh you cracked the case. It's the shock. DJ.
- 54:51You guys wander around. Uh, you guys separate to
- 54:54your different spots. Bobby, we're going to cut to you walking
- 54:57upstairs. You're looking for the kids rooms.
- 54:59Yeah, it's just a is
- 55:02the stairs carpeted?
- 55:04This house is very nicely furnished.
- 55:07Carpeted. Stairs are hard for me. I kind of trip a little bit,
- 55:11but I catch myself. I'm fine.
- 55:12Good. There's good railing there for a reason. You make it up to the top
- 55:15of the stairs and you see a few rooms, so you
- 55:18go around opening them. Are you looking for anything particular?
- 55:21I'm, um, looking for the missing kids room.
- 55:23Okay, so you open up first room and uh, it's like
- 55:26a master bed. Um, so you
- 55:29assume adult. So you go on the next one and
- 55:32you open it and it's like a, ah, spare guest
- 55:35room. Doesn't look like there's any posters, nothing in it. So you kind of
- 55:38think not, probably not. And then you open the last room and it
- 55:41is filled with like posters of athletes.
- 55:44Okay. I'll go in there. I'm just kind
- 55:46of rummaging, maybe for like a
- 55:49journal or a backpack or something.
- 55:52Uh, you start looking through uh, folders,
- 55:55bags and stuff and you don't find much of anything. And then you look
- 55:58in, uh, the cubby. Well, you do find
- 56:01a bunch of his belongings. Like
- 56:04everything's here in place. There's nothing really missing. You also notice his
- 56:07wallet is also here. This is Tony McCook's. His
- 56:10wallet's up here. But that kind of makes sense because it's his house,
- 56:13so he wouldn't have it downstairs with him. Uh,
- 56:16and uh, you go to his.
- 56:18Uh can I check his wallet?
- 56:21Yeah, go for it.
- 56:21Does he have any, uh, same thing, coupons or
- 56:24money?
- 56:25Just straight up $30.
- 56:27Okay. Can I take that?
- 56:28Oh, yeah, of course. Uh, same thing as what we saw.
- 56:31Sam's, he's around same age as Sam. He's got his learner's permit.
- 56:34Uh, and same, uh, thing. He's got a few gift cards,
- 56:37but most of them are to like your local
- 56:39arcade. And also a gym
- 56:42membership for his own high school
- 56:44gyms. Kind of weird. Uh,
- 56:47and you just kind of I don't know what you do with the wallet afterwards, but
- 56:50I'll just kind of toss it. And then you
- 56:53go over to a dresser to keep looking.
- 56:56Blank on what they're called, but the dresser right next to,
- 56:59uh, right by.
- 57:00The bed, the bedside table.
- 57:02Thank you. And you open that and you find a dream journal.
- 57:05Yeah, he's been logging his dreams.
- 57:08It's even called Tony's dream journal.
- 57:10All right.
- 57:12Can I read some of his dreams? Do you have
- 57:15any dreams for me?
- 57:16Prepped? No, but I will tell you
- 57:19just briefly looking at more recent ones. Right. You probably flip
- 57:22to the back and read from the recent versus start at the
- 57:25front. Makes more sense doing that.
- 57:26I want to know what he's been dreaming about since he was
- 57:29okay, well.
- 57:30You'Re going to be here a while if that's what you're doing,
- 57:32because it's packed. This thing has been written since
- 57:35twelve. Uh, no, you start the back. Not really much
- 57:38to know. His dreams are wild and
- 57:41imaginary. Very,
- 57:44uh, sexually
- 57:46themed, uh, due to the fact he is a
- 57:49teenager. Uh, but uh, for the most
- 57:52part, nothing out of the ordinary. For a teen. He doesn't have
- 57:55like reoccurring themes of monsters or something like that.
- 57:58It's just teeth falling out.
- 58:00Teeth falling out. A lot of being laughed at for showing up at
- 58:03school in his know, a lot of public embarrassment.
- 58:06You think Tony might have a problem with humiliation?
- 58:09Uh, I have a big fear of that.
- 58:11Sounds like he's got some anxiety.
- 58:13That too. Fear of being rejected by his
- 58:15peers. That's why he's hosting a party. Maybe we're diving
- 58:18too deep into town. He's gone
- 58:21missing.
- 58:22I read that a little bit. I just kind of
- 58:25chuckle. Throw that on the bed too,
- 58:27because I don't want to put stuff back. It
- 58:30doesn't matter. He's missing.
- 58:33You, uh, keep looking around. Not much else to note. You do notice that he has
- 58:36a giant duffel bag, uh, just sitting in his closet.
- 58:39When you open his closet. Duffel bag filled with no clothes
- 58:42though. So you would assume if he
- 58:45was to go somewhere plan, he would have filled the duffel bag
- 58:48with stuff.
- 58:48So it was just empty?
- 58:49Just empty. Just sitting there. All his clothes are in place. Doesn't
- 58:52look like he would have wasn't planning on going
- 58:55anywhere anytime soon.
- 58:58Um, that's it. There's not much else to note in this
- 59:01room. Very empty. Lights are off.
- 59:03Ah.
- 59:03I'll mosey out of this room and
- 59:06back to that master bedroom.
- 59:08Yeah.
- 59:09Is there any kind of jewelry box?
- 59:11Yeah, there's a jewelry box. Are you going to take
- 59:14a lull.
- 59:14Of it or just like, um, I don't know. She
- 59:17looks like she got any diamonds.
- 59:18It's a nice pearl necklace.
- 59:19I'll take that.
- 59:20Okay. Nice pearl necklace. You just stash that away and then slide the
- 59:23jewelry box back. All right, we're going to go to Denny in the
- 59:26kitchen. You are just rummaging
- 59:29around. Anything in particular you're
- 59:32looking for besides flashlights?
- 59:33Coupons.
- 59:34More coupons? Huh?
- 59:36Uh, ham sandwich,
- 59:39glass of milk.
- 59:41Really? Yeah. Okay. Yeah. No, you open the fridge,
- 59:44it is filled to the brim with food.
- 59:47You think maybe they filled the fridge up before, uh,
- 59:50they left? They didn't want old Tony to starve himself,
- 59:52apparently.
- 59:54Uh, did I notice on Tony's driver's
- 59:57license? Wait, kiddicks.
- 59:59No.
- 59:59We found Sam.
- 1:00:00Sam's.
- 1:00:00How old is Sam?
- 1:00:0117. Okay. Yeah.
- 1:00:04Learner's permit.
- 1:00:05Mind you. The newspaper article actually said the ages of
- 1:00:08all the kids too that went missing. I didn't say that. But
- 1:00:11if you wanted, you have the newspaper.
- 1:00:12How old was Tony?
- 1:00:1417. Is Tony
- 1:00:1717?
- 1:00:18Do we have like a young one or are they all the same age?
- 1:00:2017. Okay, just going through the age. Also if you guys just want
- 1:00:23me to name the kids too. Sam Parker, age
- 1:00:2617. Max Parker, age 16. Tony,
- 1:00:29age 17. Hannah grower.
- 1:00:32Grover. Hannah Grover, age 16.
- 1:00:35Tim Redding, age 15. And then Michelle
- 1:00:38Mitchell, also age 15. Now I do want
- 1:00:41to point out if this is you reading the article,
- 1:00:44Denny, you recognize the name Tim
- 1:00:46Redding, for that is the name of your neighbor's kid.
- 1:00:49All right. Um, then Denny
- 1:00:52looks, finds like the junk drawer. He's
- 1:00:55looking through the drawers, the cabinets for, uh,
- 1:00:58flashlights, maybe under the sink.
- 1:01:00Yeah, you look around and it doesn't take you too
- 1:01:03long. Uh, just opening a couple of drawers, you find a
- 1:01:06drawer that's filled with batteries and flashlights and
- 1:01:08scissors and all sorts of stuff.
- 1:01:12There is exactly three flashlights,
- 1:01:15believe it or not. All working.
- 1:01:18Wow. Isn't that who would have thought?
- 1:01:20So, uh, he, uh, grabs the flashlight, set those
- 1:01:23on the counter. He's like, oh, scissors, I was
- 1:01:26needing those before. And, uh, he takes the scissors and takes
- 1:01:29the paper back out and turns it over and
- 1:01:32starts clipping out those coupons.
- 1:01:35Initially it all comes together.
- 1:01:38And then as he's flipping it back over,
- 1:01:41he notices like he takes a closer look at the names
- 1:01:44and he sees, oh,
- 1:01:46jeepers, that's Tim Reddings.
- 1:01:50That's Jeff's kid.
- 1:01:55It is now.
- 1:01:59Jeff and Patty. Jeff and Patty.
- 1:02:03Oh, man, that's hitting a little too close to
- 1:02:06home, literally. And I come back out to the
- 1:02:09living room. I found some flashlight
- 1:02:11skiing. Thanks, but oh,
- 1:02:14bad news. It's real bummer. Tim
- 1:02:17Reddings was one of the kids who went missing. That's my
- 1:02:19neighbor.
- 1:02:20Oh, Timmy. Oh, um, man, that means that he
- 1:02:23was drinking too.
- 1:02:26That's so disappointing. Kids these days, I tell you what. I
- 1:02:29mean, I might just be a kid detective myself, but
- 1:02:32I'm not somebody that really, uh, partakes in the
- 1:02:35beverages of the adult variety.
- 1:02:37Like some real Michael Jackson energy
- 1:02:40over here.
- 1:02:42Same time this is happening, Bobby walks.
- 1:02:44Back into the room and says, you got
- 1:02:47some real Michael Jackson energy going on
- 1:02:50here.
- 1:02:50Oh, I love thriller. It's a great music
- 1:02:53video.
- 1:02:53It's a great mhm
- 1:02:56to. Can I take the flashlights?
- 1:02:59Yeah, I want to
- 1:03:02just start clicking through them, make sure none of them.
- 1:03:04Are like, oh, I don't know
- 1:03:07why.
- 1:03:07That Michael fella always grabbing his
- 1:03:10package, though. I don't get that.
- 1:03:12I think it helps him hit those high notes.
- 1:03:14Oh, that's a theory there. Yeah, there those
- 1:03:17flashlights. Did they pass your inspection there,
- 1:03:20Bobby?
- 1:03:21They'll do. I'll take one.
- 1:03:23All right, I take one as well.
- 1:03:26I take another one. And, uh,
- 1:03:29I run back to the kitchen and grab some tape
- 1:03:32from that drawer and I
- 1:03:34tape the flashlight to my camera.
- 1:03:38Nice.
- 1:03:39Why didn't I think of this before?
- 1:03:41Well, it's like you got night vision almost.
- 1:03:44Yeah. Real night
- 1:03:47prowler.
- 1:03:48Yeah. And then with that, Kenny's going to head
- 1:03:50outside to check on his theory about,
- 1:03:53uh, the kidnapping. Yeah.
- 1:03:56And with that, I'm going to have, uh, all of you are going to start
- 1:03:58walking outside to follow up on Kenny's
- 1:04:01theory of there's got to be some more
- 1:04:04information outside the house. And with that, we're going to
- 1:04:07end this episode.
