- 0:07Speaker 1: From carrying each other to and Natty to carrying each
- 0:11Speaker 1: other on the air live from the Mercedes Benz Baton
- 0:19Speaker 1: Rouge Studio.
- 0:20Speaker 3: It's off the bench.
- 0:29Speaker 4: How did you carry me? All you did was turn
- 0:31Speaker 4: around and hand the football off to me. I literally
- 0:34Speaker 4: carried the football.
- 0:35Speaker 5: I had to tell you where to go. He never
- 0:37Speaker 5: knew what to do.
- 0:38Speaker 4: Yeah, every time we broke the Yeah, hey, the five
- 0:42Speaker 4: thirty pounds white running back didn't know where to go.
- 0:44Speaker 3: That's why he was in there.
- 0:47Speaker 6: Carried each other mutual.
- 0:50Speaker 4: I mean I tacked out blitzing linebackers from you know
- 0:54Speaker 4: as what Weeks put it going straight through your face.
- 0:58Speaker 5: Oh, he was trying to go to your face, but
- 1:00Speaker 5: he's trying to crush you.
- 1:02Speaker 4: So I love someone who feeds wit Weeks and all
- 1:06Speaker 4: the Weeks brothers and all of the LSU football team.
- 1:09Speaker 4: I got chef Michael Johnson, executive chef over at LSU
- 1:12Speaker 4: joins us for your monkey's questions.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Jeff, what's going on? Brother? How are we doing? Doing? Fantastic?
- 1:20Speaker 3: Looking forward to this segment, as we always do Uh.
- 1:23Speaker 4: So this is gonna be the first time for Flynn,
- 1:26Speaker 4: so I'm actually excited for him. So, Flynn, before we
- 1:30Speaker 4: get our monkey's questions.
- 1:32Speaker 5: Can I say this has been one of my favorite
- 1:34Speaker 5: segments that y'all do. Okay, we'll go crush it, and
- 1:37Speaker 5: I'm excited to be part of it now.
- 1:39Speaker 7: Yeah, well, you know I was. I was going to say,
- 1:43Speaker 7: I have a really great picture when I first opened
- 1:46Speaker 7: this place up in twenty nineteen of me Jake Matt
- 1:51Speaker 7: Richard Dixon. Oh yeah, it's one of my favorite pictures
- 1:54Speaker 7: that I have of because I mean it was all new,
- 1:56Speaker 7: and you know, like I'm standing here with some of
- 1:58Speaker 7: my some of my face ls you guys, and so
- 2:01Speaker 7: it's to be a part of.
- 2:03Speaker 4: It as well with Yeah, that's right, man, I did
- 2:05Speaker 4: forget about we do a show. I think we did
- 2:07Speaker 4: in the Corner.
- 2:08Speaker 3: Yeah, in the corner. We did show in the Corner. Yeah, absolutely,
- 2:13Speaker 3: I need to go over there.
- 2:14Speaker 5: Actually, this segment has been so good for so long.
- 2:16Speaker 5: I'm actually kind of like a little bit nervous about
- 2:19Speaker 5: this one.
- 2:20Speaker 4: I don't want to find the segment chef Chef he's interviewed.
- 2:23Speaker 4: I mean, we've had baseball Hall of Famers, we've had
- 2:26Speaker 4: head coaches, we've had basically a little bit of everything.
- 2:30Speaker 4: Since this week, you know, had a ton of big guests.
- 2:33Speaker 4: That's the first time he said he's been nervous and
- 2:35Speaker 4: it's talking.
- 2:36Speaker 3: To you chef. Food is a big deal to me.
- 2:41Speaker 4: All Right, I'll start this thing off. Then I was
- 2:43Speaker 4: gonna let Flynn, but he's already talked too much. Hashtag munchies.
- 2:47Speaker 4: What is the best cut of meat for a meat head? Look,
- 2:53Speaker 4: I'm a meathead, So like what when you think like grit, mean, nasty, tough?
- 2:56Speaker 3: What do you what are you cutting there? You know?
- 2:58Speaker 7: I don't know why, but when you said me said
- 3:00Speaker 7: like that, I went to I don't know who was
- 3:02Speaker 7: the who is the singer? Was it a Lady Gaga
- 3:06Speaker 7: that went wrapped in Oh yeah?
- 3:07Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah for sure shoot in Awards show straight up
- 3:11Speaker 4: like a meat skirt.
- 3:12Speaker 7: And I remember thinking to myself, like, man, that's gotta
- 3:15Speaker 7: be like flank or skirt stake. You know, you know
- 3:20Speaker 7: you can't do that with blay.
- 3:21Speaker 3: You know that's true.
- 3:23Speaker 7: Yeah, there you go. There's your answers.
- 3:25Speaker 3: OK, fair enough, all right.
- 3:26Speaker 5: Jeff, all right, hashtag munchies. Here what is and maybe
- 3:30Speaker 5: it's a restaurant setting, it's a catering centum. Maybe what
- 3:33Speaker 5: is the angriest that you've ever got at a customer?
- 3:37Speaker 8: Oh?
- 3:37Speaker 7: Man, that's a good one. I mean, you know, it's
- 3:40Speaker 7: usually that that like last minute, come in at the
- 3:44Speaker 7: at the at the break of cleaning up, you know.
- 3:48Speaker 7: And I used to be a much more temple, temperamental
- 3:50Speaker 7: human being than I am.
- 3:51Speaker 4: Now.
- 3:52Speaker 7: I practiced my patience. But when I was in the
- 3:54Speaker 7: restaurant business, you know that that's walk in at ten
- 3:58Speaker 7: fifteen when you close it in and have high expectations,
- 4:02Speaker 7: you know, like, I don't even care if you come
- 4:04Speaker 7: in at ten fifteen, if you're just like, feed me
- 4:06Speaker 7: whatever you can. But when people come in and they
- 4:09Speaker 7: get particular about hey, and and it's always a well
- 4:12Speaker 7: done steak, oh my god, it's just brutal. I'll tell
- 4:18Speaker 7: you this. So this is kind of funny. We had
- 4:20Speaker 7: a we had a radio personality out of I think
- 4:24Speaker 7: he was out of Chicago, and he was, you know,
- 4:29Speaker 7: like he was he also was in Kansas City, Like
- 4:33Speaker 7: the radio was broadcast in Kansas City to man Man
- 4:37Speaker 7: Cow in the morning. I don't know if you ever
- 4:40Speaker 7: ever ever heard man cow in the morning or not,
- 4:41Speaker 7: but he was, Yeah, so he was. I was working
- 4:45Speaker 7: in Warrensburg, Missouri, and he was calling us out because
- 4:48Speaker 7: he was coming to Heroes, which was the name of
- 4:49Speaker 7: the restaurant, and he was like, you know, these guys
- 4:52Speaker 7: they think that they have the best food, but you
- 4:54Speaker 7: know they talk about they have the hottest wings, and
- 4:57Speaker 7: you know, I'm gonna go there and I'm gonna eat.
- 4:59Speaker 7: I'm gonna eat like thirty wings. And I had just
- 5:02Speaker 7: gotten back from New Orleans and I had picked up
- 5:04Speaker 7: this stuff called endorphin rush, and you know, like two
- 5:07Speaker 7: drops of this stuff in a and a wing sauce
- 5:10Speaker 7: turns it from you know, like tolerable to freaking out
- 5:15Speaker 7: and having you know, like and it literally an endorphin rush,
- 5:19Speaker 7: like it kicks in, you know, like you go panicky hot,
- 5:22Speaker 7: you're sweating like it's it's it was comparable to taking
- 5:27Speaker 7: pepper spray like it it's manufactured cap station, right. And
- 5:32Speaker 7: so instead of making us, instead of making the whole
- 5:36Speaker 7: table taste that, we dipped two of those wings and
- 5:39Speaker 7: this super super hot sauce and when we placed the
- 5:41Speaker 7: wings down, we put it right in front of him
- 5:44Speaker 7: with those two two wings front and center, right in
- 5:46Speaker 7: front of him, and it worked out perfectly, like the
- 5:48Speaker 7: first two wings that he grabbed for those two wings
- 5:51Speaker 7: dowst and sauce, and everybody else is eating the wings.
- 5:53Speaker 7: They're like, what are you freaking out about?
- 5:55Speaker 3: That?
- 5:56Speaker 7: Hot Nancy?
- 5:58Speaker 3: Right?
- 5:58Speaker 7: So yeah, rather than getting angry, we got even.
- 6:03Speaker 3: Right, that's good.
- 6:05Speaker 5: Let me piggyback that on. That like a kind of
- 6:07Speaker 5: a stigma that restaurant goers have. I got a lot
- 6:10Speaker 5: of friends like this people. There's all these people that
- 6:13Speaker 5: are nervous. Like if you're going to a nice restaurant
- 6:15Speaker 5: and you get a steak or something that is not
- 6:17Speaker 5: cooked the way you you ask for, it's not even close,
- 6:20Speaker 5: like it's way under cooked or something like that. It's
- 6:22Speaker 5: how comfortable How comfortable or uncomfortable should people be by
- 6:27Speaker 5: just telling the waiter or waitress, hey man, you can
- 6:30Speaker 5: I send it back.
- 6:32Speaker 7: You should never feel uncomfortable about it. I think you
- 6:34Speaker 7: should be polite about it, you know, because there's people
- 6:36Speaker 7: who there's people who you know, get really rude with
- 6:40Speaker 7: the wait staff and get really rude with the staff
- 6:42Speaker 7: and mistakes happen, right, but you should I mean, you're
- 6:46Speaker 7: exchanging your money for a product and that that restaurant
- 6:48Speaker 7: is responsible for providing the product that you of your expectation.
- 6:52Speaker 7: You know, I think that there's there's a mouthful and
- 6:55Speaker 7: expectation of you know, when you order a steak, I
- 6:58Speaker 7: don't I like to describe I have the center versus
- 7:01Speaker 7: calling it medium, rare or medium, because everybody's idea of
- 7:05Speaker 7: what medium, rare and medium is just a little bit different. Right,
- 7:08Speaker 7: So a lot of the companies now have have described
- 7:12Speaker 7: you know, the warm pink center, you know, cool cool, cool,
- 7:15Speaker 7: red center, so on and so forth. I'll go in
- 7:17Speaker 7: there and say I wanted one hundred and thirty five degrees,
- 7:19Speaker 7: bring it out one hundred and thirty five degrees, right
- 7:21Speaker 7: because I know where I like it. And there's it's
- 7:25Speaker 7: interesting because some of the weight staff are like these
- 7:28Speaker 7: particular does this guy? I just don't want a steak
- 7:32Speaker 7: over cooked? And but to your point, yeah, you shouldn't
- 7:35Speaker 7: specifically if it's you know, like it's it's understandable if
- 7:40Speaker 7: it's underdone, and you can take it up. But what's
- 7:42Speaker 7: really frustrating is when they take it over and you've
- 7:45Speaker 7: got to order a brand new steak and you know,
- 7:47Speaker 7: like that's an avoidable I would rather have an undercooked
- 7:50Speaker 7: steak rather than an overcook stak.
- 7:54Speaker 4: Flynn, this is very important to the future of our relationship,
- 7:58Speaker 4: even though we've been friends for long, over twenty years.
- 8:01Speaker 3: How do you take your steak?
- 8:02Speaker 5: Look, I'm going to I'm kind of second guessing the
- 8:04Speaker 5: way I order this now because it seems a little uppity. Well,
- 8:06Speaker 5: I say medium rare plus.
- 8:10Speaker 7: There you go. I like that?
- 8:12Speaker 3: You like that?
- 8:13Speaker 7: I do? I like that because you know, medium rare
- 8:16Speaker 7: plus is just at the edge of medium. That's actually
- 8:18Speaker 7: how I like my steak. And and you know, people
- 8:21Speaker 7: don't understand that there is a medium rare plus. It's
- 8:24Speaker 7: at the edge of going from medium rare to medium.
- 8:26Speaker 7: That's a medium rare plus. Now does everybody understand that?
- 8:29Speaker 3: No?
- 8:29Speaker 7: But you know, like I do, I like like, I
- 8:32Speaker 7: like what you just said. There.
- 8:33Speaker 5: I do get some weird looks from from the wait
- 8:36Speaker 5: staff sometimes on order that because they haven't heard that
- 8:38Speaker 5: plus term. So if you were to describe medium or
- 8:40Speaker 5: plus and a color, I guess.
- 8:42Speaker 3: What would that be.
- 8:42Speaker 7: Yeah, Well, it's somewhere between a warm red center and
- 8:45Speaker 7: a cool cool red center and a warm warm red center. Right,
- 8:49Speaker 7: like somewhere in between there you don't want I mean, yeah, well,
- 8:54Speaker 7: how do you are you a medium guy?
- 8:56Speaker 4: Jake me, No, cut off the horns, wipe its nasty
- 8:58Speaker 4: ass and throw it on a plate.
- 9:00Speaker 7: Well that's tolerable too, you know what I mean? Like,
- 9:02Speaker 7: I think anything below medium is okay. Medium well is
- 9:06Speaker 7: questionable and well done. It is like you're you're you
- 9:08Speaker 7: need to you need.
- 9:09Speaker 3: To go, chef. You got a question that chef.
- 9:11Speaker 4: I just I just like you. I've told you this before.
- 9:14Speaker 4: Just lean down and whisper heat to the steak and
- 9:16Speaker 4: then throw it on a plate.
- 9:18Speaker 7: Now do you like Pittsburgh style?
- 9:20Speaker 4: Yeah, that's that's not bad. No, for sure, like you
- 9:22Speaker 4: know when in Rome, for sure. But man, I don't
- 9:25Speaker 4: want that thing like anywhere, even medium like is too
- 9:29Speaker 4: much for me. And I know, look, I know, I know,
- 9:30Speaker 4: no pun intended. I'm in rare air there, but yeah,
- 9:34Speaker 4: I don't want that thing done at all.
- 9:36Speaker 7: Beef I will be fully rare like that. But and
- 9:39Speaker 7: I used to eat ram that way. But you know,
- 9:41Speaker 7: like there's certain red meats that I won't say because
- 9:43Speaker 7: lamb gets a little chewy. I used to eat duck
- 9:46Speaker 7: that way. But I've gotten even to the place where
- 9:49Speaker 7: I like the texture better on a medium, rare plus
- 9:53Speaker 7: whatever red what you know like red meat. Now, there
- 9:56Speaker 7: is something to be said about the nutrient value because
- 10:00Speaker 7: the meat has its you know, like optimal amount of
- 10:04Speaker 7: nutrient at raw. Right, you're cooking it specifically over a
- 10:07Speaker 7: super high heat. It's drawing nutrient out by the minute. Right,
- 10:12Speaker 7: So yeah, there's there's there's health benefit to it as well.
- 10:17Speaker 3: I loving the chat.
- 10:18Speaker 4: Chef Joey says, yep, going to rus Chris, and I'm
- 10:21Speaker 4: gonna confirm that center. I'm saying, gonna totally say one
- 10:24Speaker 4: hundred and thirty five degrees next time.
- 10:27Speaker 3: I love that.
- 10:28Speaker 4: That's gonna be. That's gonna be the way what I heard,
- 10:31Speaker 4: thirty five degrees. Please whip out a thermometer. It's gonna
- 10:33Speaker 4: be so good. That's gonna be like the ultimate ultimate
- 10:36Speaker 4: flex there, uh, Chef, so Lsu has got a super
- 10:40Speaker 4: regional coming up. We just had Jay Johnson on the
- 10:42Speaker 4: show right before you. And so if you incredible human,
- 10:47Speaker 4: if you were going to throw a tailgate at the
- 10:49Speaker 4: box for a super regional matchup, you know the box
- 10:53Speaker 4: is going to be turned up to an eleven. Everybody's
- 10:55Speaker 4: going to be excited. What are we throwing down at
- 10:58Speaker 4: the tilgate.
- 11:00Speaker 7: For the team or.
- 11:01Speaker 4: No, no, for the fans for the tailgate to get them
- 11:04Speaker 4: in the right mindset to go cheer on the Tigers.
- 11:06Speaker 7: Yeah, well it's got to be celebratory, right yeah, I think. Sorry,
- 11:10Speaker 7: I'm saying hello to some guys here.
- 11:12Speaker 3: Hey morning, all good tell them we said good morning
- 11:14Speaker 3: as well.
- 11:14Speaker 7: You know, I don't know, you know, like I'm kind
- 11:18Speaker 7: of a bougie guy at the at the baseball park
- 11:20Speaker 7: when I worked for the Sea or when I worked
- 11:21Speaker 7: for the Mariners and at the miner League stadium, Like
- 11:24Speaker 7: we had a we had a coffee rub ribbi that
- 11:26Speaker 7: we served there and it was on a swirl jewish
- 11:29Speaker 7: and pumper nickel rye and we we we uh we
- 11:33Speaker 7: put I'm on uh sorry, uh we we we were brother. Sorry,
- 11:38Speaker 7: I just whispered it. We would brush honey on the
- 11:41Speaker 7: bread here and also it was brown and then rubbed
- 11:44Speaker 7: you like that. The ribbi was rubbed with honey, It
- 11:47Speaker 7: had coffee in the it had spice and cayenne and
- 11:50Speaker 7: we actually put some cocoa powder in there, and you know,
- 11:53Speaker 7: like it was one of the best sandwiches that I've
- 11:55Speaker 7: ever executed at the baseball stadium, and I think Tiger
- 11:58Speaker 7: fans would love it, you know, you know, something hearty
- 12:01Speaker 7: to drink your beer with.
- 12:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, I know.
- 12:07Speaker 5: I got a question of the huddle. I'm gonna change it.
- 12:09Speaker 5: The question of the huddle was who's your like celebrity
- 12:12Speaker 5: chef crush? But I'm gonna change it, like, what is
- 12:15Speaker 5: one celebrity chef that you see on television that you
- 12:17Speaker 5: actually like, respect their skill and what they do. Because
- 12:19Speaker 5: I'm sure there's a lot of clowns out there that
- 12:21Speaker 5: are famous because of their TV personality. But from a
- 12:23Speaker 5: chef talking about a famous celebrity chef, who's who's an
- 12:28Speaker 5: actual person that's got the chops.
- 12:31Speaker 7: Anthony Bourdain used to be my guy, you know, like
- 12:33Speaker 7: he just talked it real, he said it real. He was.
- 12:36Speaker 7: He was controversial in that manner, you know, he talked
- 12:38Speaker 7: about addiction and stuff in the kitchens. I love not
- 12:41Speaker 7: that just he was a foodie, but he was a
- 12:44Speaker 7: chef guy, you know, real chef, and he told it.
- 12:46Speaker 7: He told it just the way that it was. But
- 12:49Speaker 7: as far as people who were still in existence, the
- 12:53Speaker 7: Jacques de pan is my guy, Like he is a
- 12:55Speaker 7: true and tried, just through and through French chef that
- 12:59Speaker 7: doesn't screw around. He's not flamboyant. He's just a wonderful
- 13:02Speaker 7: human being and he loves to cook. He uses his hands,
- 13:05Speaker 7: you know, like and he takes time to explain. He
- 13:09Speaker 7: by far is you know, Landslide for me is one
- 13:12Speaker 7: of my favorites, you know on TV personality chefs.
- 13:17Speaker 3: Chef.
- 13:18Speaker 4: I actually just watched Ratituey with my daughter. It had
- 13:21Speaker 4: no business going that hard, by the way, incredible maybe, Yeah.
- 13:25Speaker 7: The more time you watch it and the more you understand,
- 13:28Speaker 7: like it's.
- 13:29Speaker 4: Incredible, Like I'm sitting there like the whole time like
- 13:32Speaker 4: a me wantech chef, oh text Like it was actually
- 13:35Speaker 4: like I don't know a kitchen like you do. Obviously,
- 13:38Speaker 4: it felt like how a kitchen is ran doing good?
- 13:43Speaker 3: Great? Thanks?
- 13:45Speaker 7: Well, yeah, a lot going on. Shouldn't be quiet groves
- 13:51Speaker 7: of people right now?
- 13:51Speaker 4: Yeah, no, chef, you were good. We appreciate your time
- 13:55Speaker 4: every single week. Chef Michael Johnson good enough to join
- 13:58Speaker 4: us for munchies, Chef, we look for or to every
- 14:00Speaker 4: single week.
- 14:01Speaker 3: We'll catch up again soon.
- 14:02Speaker 7: Take care of guys, I mean it's.
- 14:05Speaker 3: Trying to feed the team. They're coming in from breakfast.
- 14:07Speaker 3: He's like dapping them up, Like what's those guys.
- 14:11Speaker 5: These guys just don't know that he's currently on a
- 14:13Speaker 5: worldwide radio show.
- 14:16Speaker 4: If they knew he was on the seventh ranked mid
- 14:19Speaker 4: market morning radio show, there's no way they would interrupt.
- 14:23Speaker 3: It's no way. So uh right, it too. He's great.
- 14:27Speaker 3: By the way, it is a good movie.
- 14:30Speaker 5: You're right though, Like I've only watched it one time.
- 14:31Speaker 5: I never had kids like watch like.
- 14:33Speaker 4: I was the same way like I kind of it
- 14:35Speaker 4: was the same way like when my older boys.
- 14:36Speaker 3: We never really watched it.
- 14:37Speaker 4: So Harlowe actually like rat Rat, so she like liked
- 14:40Speaker 4: it and she was like, I'm like, yeah, we're gonna
- 14:42Speaker 4: watch this great.
- 14:43Speaker 5: He does go hard right, thought about it that way,
- 14:47Speaker 5: But no business could cook.
- 14:50Speaker 4: They could throw me. We're gonna throw it down with
- 14:53Speaker 4: Mikey Matuk. Let's go LSU Baseball legend MLB player host
- 14:58Speaker 4: of Mike though. Damn fine American always in forever right
- 15:01Speaker 4: here on O TV. Off the bench, all right, go
- 15:06Speaker 4: to central plumbing dot org. Since plumbing dot org is
- 15:08Speaker 4: the website for Central Plumbing. Uh but it's not only
- 15:12Speaker 4: in Central, right, do not allow the name to fool you. Now,
- 15:15Speaker 4: if you're in Central, obviously they can be able to
- 15:17Speaker 4: take care of you. But we're talking to the greater
- 15:19Speaker 4: Baton Rouge area. Everybody here in this area. Central Plumbing
- 15:23Speaker 4: can help you with that emergency. Twenty four seven three
- 15:25Speaker 4: sixty five week in holiday game day does not matter. Right,
- 15:29Speaker 4: If you were watching the Tigers play at midnight thirty
- 15:32Speaker 4: the other night and it was a weekend, doesn't matter.
- 15:36Speaker 4: You call them.
- 15:37Speaker 3: They would have been there if you.
- 15:38Speaker 5: Had What if it's the bottle of the night, doesn't matter.
- 15:41Speaker 3: Doesn't matter.
- 15:42Speaker 4: They're going to be there because twenty four to seven
- 15:44Speaker 4: truly means twenty four to seven. That number two two

- 15:55Speaker 5: have an experience it, call them, you take a shower,
- 15:58Speaker 5: You can stay in there as long as you want.
- 16:00Speaker 5: It never runs out. Central Plumbing dot Org two two
- 16:03Speaker 5: five nine eight five five two.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Two thousand and seven. Champs Purple and Gold to the core.
- 16:21Speaker 1: This is off the bench with Hester and Flynn, Matt
- 16:24Speaker 1: and Rouge's go to for all things Louisiana sports, Big Voice.
- 16:29Speaker 3: Lady, don't ruin the song with that. I love gold
- 16:32Speaker 3: that liner, I don't do that. What are we doing?
- 16:36Speaker 3: Have we found the clipp it of gold member?
- 16:38Speaker 8: Uh?
- 16:38Speaker 4: That haven't found it yet, but we have linked up
- 16:40Speaker 4: with our guy, Mikey Matu, former LSU Tiger MLB player.
- 16:45Speaker 4: You can catch him as the host of micd up
- 16:47Speaker 4: as well. Mikey, what's going on?
- 16:49Speaker 3: Brother? How we doing?
- 16:50Speaker 8: What's happening? Guys, y'all doing?
- 16:52Speaker 3: Doing fantastic?
- 16:53Speaker 4: Before we get to LSU, though, I have to ask
- 16:56Speaker 4: you about this. So Paul Skeins has allowed only nineteen
- 17:01Speaker 4: earned runs in thirteen starts this year, but the Pirates
- 17:04Speaker 4: have lost eight of those games. Sir, you played at
- 17:08Speaker 4: the highest level in the big leagues. That is hard
- 17:11Speaker 4: to fathom. Have you ever seen something like that playout?
- 17:16Speaker 8: I've never been a part of anything like that personally, Like,
- 17:19Speaker 8: I've never been you know, I think I can say
- 17:22Speaker 8: thank God that I've never been a.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Part of that.
- 17:23Speaker 8: That'd probably be out a fall on my shoulders as
- 17:26Speaker 8: an offensive guy. But yeah, uh man, that's a that's
- 17:29Speaker 8: a tough situation to being. I mean, he's doing out
- 17:31Speaker 8: there and he's doing his job every fifth day, and
- 17:34Speaker 8: he's doing it to at the highest level. And you know,
- 17:37Speaker 8: his offense can't scratch on one run across to even
- 17:40Speaker 8: give him the no decision. That's a that's a tough deal.
- 17:42Speaker 8: And I think I think in twenty eighteen, I want
- 17:46Speaker 8: to say that Jacob deGrom was ten and nine with
- 17:49Speaker 8: like a one point seven five yard eight. Yeah, and
- 17:53Speaker 8: that may be the only other time that I've seen
- 17:55Speaker 8: anything like this, But I think this has urged. I
- 17:56Speaker 8: mean I don't I don't think like at least he
- 17:58Speaker 8: had a winning record. Seem like Paul is gonna get
- 18:01Speaker 8: to that that winning record because he's either gonna lose
- 18:04Speaker 8: it or get the no decision. That's a tough tough
- 18:06Speaker 8: situation to be empired. I don't want to say sell
- 18:09Speaker 8: the team, but go spend some money off from off
- 18:11Speaker 8: the place.
- 18:12Speaker 3: Yeah, It's like.
- 18:14Speaker 5: Paul's got to say all the right things he's got
- 18:17Speaker 5: and he's going to but this is like one of
- 18:20Speaker 5: those situations where hey, agent, go make some noise, like.
- 18:26Speaker 3: Under the blanket over here.
- 18:27Speaker 8: Come on, listen, And if they do that, that is
- 18:30Speaker 8: a disaster for Pittsburgh. Like the I mean Pittsburgh fans
- 18:33Speaker 8: are russ And if they if they finally got a
- 18:35Speaker 8: guy they can they can get behind. If they if
- 18:37Speaker 8: they trade him out, they're not. They might as well
- 18:42Speaker 8: sell the team at that point.
- 18:42Speaker 5: Yeah, the Pittsburgh fans like, if you love something, yeah,
- 18:45Speaker 5: let it go.
- 18:46Speaker 3: Yeah right, let him go to a better situation.
- 18:49Speaker 4: The trade packages I've seen, like they don't even come
- 18:51Speaker 4: close to like Paul Schemes, who I think is like generational.
- 18:54Speaker 4: But you know, I just I had to ask Mikey
- 18:56Speaker 4: that question because man, I just I can't remember something
- 18:59Speaker 4: like that where you've been so dominant but you've lost
- 19:02Speaker 4: like eight of those games because you can't score any run.
- 19:05Speaker 8: So might if he goesg I mean, I don't even
- 19:08Speaker 8: know if that's gonna win the game.
- 19:09Speaker 4: I know, dude, he went eight the other nine like
- 19:13Speaker 4: in I mean, held him the three hits in one
- 19:15Speaker 4: run and lost the game. Like, what are you doing?
- 19:18Speaker 4: It's it's it's a hard at it is. That's a
- 19:21Speaker 4: great way to put it. It is embarrassing. What's not embarrassing?
- 19:24Speaker 3: Uh? The LSU Tigers, they find a way in the regional.
- 19:27Speaker 4: So before we go to Super Regional talk, I do
- 19:29Speaker 4: want to kind of look back. Look, I understand that
- 19:32Speaker 4: you lost the game to Little Rock on Sunday, but
- 19:34Speaker 4: it's about how did you finish? And the game was close.
- 19:37Speaker 4: The game was tight. Little Rock had all the momentum.
- 19:40Speaker 4: But credit to LSU and credit to Jay Johnson for
- 19:43Speaker 4: switching the lineup around because if Ethan Fries not batting
- 19:46Speaker 4: second in that game, Mikey, I'm not sure we're talking
- 19:48Speaker 4: about LSU baseball and a Super regional right now. So
- 19:52Speaker 4: he pushed all the right buttons there in that game
- 19:54Speaker 4: seven in the regional.
- 19:55Speaker 8: Correct, you know, it was a it was a you know,
- 19:59Speaker 8: pretty you know people people look at a Little Rock
- 20:04Speaker 8: and they you know, they say always they've got a
- 20:06Speaker 8: losing record and all this. Well, you know, playoff baseball
- 20:09Speaker 8: is different. And Little Rock was in the championship game
- 20:11Speaker 8: of the regional. It wasn't like they were just beating Alisher.
- 20:13Speaker 8: They beat you know, the other teams they had to
- 20:15Speaker 8: put they had to face in that regional. So they're
- 20:17Speaker 8: scrabby team and they are a really good team. And
- 20:20Speaker 8: uh yeah, I mean credit j for for making the
- 20:22Speaker 8: moves in the lineup and you know Eaton Fry they
- 20:25Speaker 8: issued the first game on Sunday, was you had opportunities
- 20:29Speaker 8: to score runs and you didn't have anybody come through
- 20:31Speaker 8: and you had you know they were able, they weren't
- 20:33Speaker 8: able to come through with with RBI based this and
- 20:36Speaker 8: Eathan Fry did that with the base of loaded double
- 20:38Speaker 8: and you know he had won four for four, then
- 20:40Speaker 8: you reach base six times and so that was a
- 20:43Speaker 8: huge moment. But for me that game, you have one
- 20:48Speaker 8: guy in your in your bullpen that you probably trust
- 20:53Speaker 8: to go long in the game, right and that that
- 20:56Speaker 8: guy was Caason Evans. He was your last guy. So
- 21:01Speaker 8: for him, for Caseon Evans to do that in that moment,
- 21:04Speaker 8: in that situation as a true freshman, I mean, that's
- 21:07Speaker 8: that's legendary stuff right there. And he went struck out
- 21:10Speaker 8: nine straight guys. He had twelve strikeouts, and I have
- 21:14Speaker 8: to have it moment, not like, hey, get us through three.
- 21:17Speaker 8: We got another guy behind you.
- 21:18Speaker 7: I can go four, Like.
- 21:19Speaker 8: I don't know, you're the only guy. I can get
- 21:20Speaker 8: us six innings right now if we got we have
- 21:22Speaker 8: to have it. And he does that, and so it
- 21:25Speaker 8: was also a pretty impressive feet by him. And you
- 21:29Speaker 8: know a bunch of other guys. Obviously Louis Hernandez is
- 21:32Speaker 8: the two homers catching four straight games. I mean, that's
- 21:35Speaker 8: what you gotta do to move on. And then those
- 21:36Speaker 8: guys did it.
- 21:37Speaker 3: Yeah, And.
- 21:39Speaker 5: More about Case and Evans. As a hitter, Mikey, when
- 21:43Speaker 5: you are a team like Little Rock that was on
- 21:48Speaker 5: fire that weekend, like they're playing out of their mind.
- 21:50Speaker 5: They're hitting great, they're playing in the defense great, and
- 21:53Speaker 5: you are you kind of dinged up the starting pitcher
- 21:56Speaker 5: that's more of a traditional thrower. Then all of a sudden,
- 21:59Speaker 5: you got the true freshman run out there who's pitching fast.
- 22:03Speaker 5: His mechanics aren't real traditional as a hitter and as
- 22:07Speaker 5: a lineup, like, how like big of a difference mindset?
- 22:10Speaker 5: How how big of a change does that make to
- 22:13Speaker 5: your timing and and just everything that you're doing from
- 22:15Speaker 5: a hitting standpoint, Oh, it's you.
- 22:18Speaker 8: I mean it's like as a as a hitter, as
- 22:20Speaker 8: a as a defender. You love when the pictures got
- 22:22Speaker 8: that type of tempo. As a hitter, you hate it
- 22:24Speaker 8: because you don't have time to get I mean, you
- 22:26Speaker 8: could look at some of the pictures looking backwards. You
- 22:28Speaker 8: know some of the batters looking backwards because he wasn't
- 22:31Speaker 8: able to throw until they made eye contact right like
- 22:33Speaker 8: he was getting the ball, he was going and his
- 22:35Speaker 8: the tempo was was pretty outraged. As a hitter, that
- 22:38Speaker 8: that really gets rushes you through what you're trying to do.
- 22:41Speaker 8: You know, we're hitters with creatures of habit, and they
- 22:43Speaker 8: have a routine in the box and they like to
- 22:45Speaker 8: take their time, and so when you get rushed, you know,
- 22:49Speaker 8: you it really really does affect your way you approach
- 22:53Speaker 8: that at that and you know he did that and
- 22:56Speaker 8: he worked quick. I mean there's a couple of moments
- 22:57Speaker 8: where you know, Luis is trying to saw him down
- 23:00Speaker 8: and she's just give me the damn ball.
- 23:01Speaker 3: Yeah, and uh.
- 23:03Speaker 8: You know, so like that is that is a you
- 23:05Speaker 8: know that that's his advantage. And you know, as like
- 23:08Speaker 8: I said, as a defender, you love that because you're
- 23:10Speaker 8: always in the in the moment in the game. But yeah,
- 23:13Speaker 8: I mean that that makes a huge difference, Mike.
- 23:17Speaker 4: In game number three, they did start Zach Cowen and then
- 23:19Speaker 4: they went to case Evans like we're talking about, and look,
- 23:22Speaker 4: I can understand you know, making a case because Zach
- 23:24Speaker 4: had been a Friday night starter.
- 23:26Speaker 3: He had success in the postseason a year ago.
- 23:28Speaker 4: If they get to that situation again, right, and let's
- 23:32Speaker 4: say for whatever reason, game one, Game two doesn't go
- 23:34Speaker 4: your way, You're playing a game three.
- 23:37Speaker 3: How do you think Jay will handle that?
- 23:40Speaker 8: So, you know, it's gonna be interesting to see how
- 23:44Speaker 8: he goes. I really do think he still has a
- 23:46Speaker 8: lot of confidence in that count. Look, you know where everybody,
- 23:49Speaker 8: I mean, I talked about it too, is are they
- 23:51Speaker 8: going to be a little rusty not throwing for two weeks?
- 23:54Speaker 8: And what I saw from Zach was a little russ
- 23:56Speaker 8: you know, because he hadn't done that all year. He
- 23:58Speaker 8: hadn't walked a ton of guys. He had hit guys,
- 24:00Speaker 8: you know, wasn't like they were banging the ball over
- 24:02Speaker 8: the field off of him. It was just, you know,
- 24:04Speaker 8: he just wasn't as sharp. Now, obviously Cason was as
- 24:07Speaker 8: sharp as he's been all year. So I think if
- 24:09Speaker 8: they get in that situation, you know, I think that
- 24:12Speaker 8: if they have an opportunity to win that Friday or
- 24:14Speaker 8: Saturday and Sunday, you're gonna throw the guys to win
- 24:17Speaker 8: those two games, because in the Super jowing you to
- 24:19Speaker 8: win two games right, and you know, if one of
- 24:21Speaker 8: those games goes you know, hey, why and they're they're
- 24:23Speaker 8: not in it and they don't have a chance to
- 24:25Speaker 8: win it. You know, I think they're gonna hold off.
- 24:27Speaker 8: They're gonna hold case In off and you keep him
- 24:31Speaker 8: in that situation to be able to start on that
- 24:33Speaker 8: if necessary game. But they're not gonna stave him for
- 24:36Speaker 8: the if necessary game unless the game kind of dictates
- 24:38Speaker 8: them to do that. I think there's an opportunity for
- 24:41Speaker 8: them to win. They're gonna go out there and do
- 24:42Speaker 8: everything they can to win the game and try to
- 24:44Speaker 8: win the win that series in two.
- 24:47Speaker 5: All right, Mikey, let's uh, let's flip the script. Let's
- 24:50Speaker 5: turn two, let's turn this week. Let's start to West
- 24:53Speaker 5: Virginia coming in.
- 24:54Speaker 3: All right.
- 24:54Speaker 5: So we talked to Jay earlier. Obviously he's not gonna
- 24:58Speaker 5: give us anything. But if Mikey Matuk he's coaching this
- 25:01Speaker 5: coaching football team, he is coaching this baseball team.
- 25:04Speaker 8: Yeah, I don't want me to coach a football dive.
- 25:11Speaker 5: Who is Mikey putting on the mound? If this game
- 25:14Speaker 5: goes to the game three.
- 25:16Speaker 8: Man, Honestly, who if if if it goes to a
- 25:20Speaker 8: Game three and you haven't thrown Cason. I think he
- 25:26Speaker 8: starts now if you do throw him on Saturday or Sunday.
- 25:32Speaker 8: You know, I'm honestly, I'm comfortable with that count on
- 25:35Speaker 8: the mountain start in the game. He has the experience,
- 25:37Speaker 8: he has the ability to do it. You know, he
- 25:40Speaker 8: can lead. He pitches off a location and off of
- 25:44Speaker 8: you know, mixing and matching and changing ve lows and
- 25:47Speaker 8: changing high level. And you know, West Virginia is a
- 25:49Speaker 8: really scrappy team. I mean, they don't have a ton
- 25:52Speaker 8: of homers, but they have a ton of doubles as
- 25:54Speaker 8: a team, and so they're gonna go out there and
- 25:55Speaker 8: they're gonna put together some of my bats. And to me,
- 25:58Speaker 8: I'm not worried about like was that count on the Maud?
- 26:01Speaker 8: Like that doesn't really scare me because you know, you're
- 26:04Speaker 8: not going to give up the big homer, and so
- 26:06Speaker 8: you just if you have a guy that can throw strike.
- 26:08Speaker 8: I like our defense trying to make plays and putting
- 26:10Speaker 8: these ability these guys fit the ball and play.
- 26:13Speaker 4: And Mikey then we start talking about the lineup changes
- 26:16Speaker 4: as well. So yeah, game three, you saw, you know
- 26:19Speaker 4: what the rotation maybe looks like with Cowen and Evans
- 26:21Speaker 4: and how they finished that game. But we talked about
- 26:24Speaker 4: it earlier, like if Ethan Fri is not hitting second,
- 26:26Speaker 4: I don't know that you win that game, and then
- 26:28Speaker 4: Mylem's swinging it well, and you got Hernandez in the
- 26:31Speaker 4: eight hole. He hits two home runs. I really like
- 26:34Speaker 4: how they formatted that game three lineup. Bear Jones struggling
- 26:37Speaker 4: a little bit, you put him in the six hole,
- 26:38Speaker 4: hits a home run to kind of give you that
- 26:40Speaker 4: breathing room late in the game. I would fully expect
- 26:43Speaker 4: them to run out that same lineup on Saturday, right.
- 26:47Speaker 8: Yeah, I think you're going to see very similar to
- 26:49Speaker 8: the lineup to be very so. I love Luis Hernandez
- 26:52Speaker 8: in the eight hole, not because he's an eight ol hitter,
- 26:55Speaker 8: but because he kind of gives you a little bit
- 26:56Speaker 8: thump in the bottom of the lineup. And you know,
- 26:59Speaker 8: I like I like Ethan Fry at the top and
- 27:03Speaker 8: in the second or third. I don't know if they're
- 27:04Speaker 8: gonna keep Barret Jones in the sixth hole, but if
- 27:07Speaker 8: they move him back up, I would like Fry either
- 27:10Speaker 8: for him or behind them, like I want, I need
- 27:12Speaker 8: them to go back to back. You know, I think
- 27:14Speaker 8: that gives that kid's Garrett a little bit of protection
- 27:18Speaker 8: and allows the other guy to kind of do some
- 27:20Speaker 8: of the things that they want to do. You know,
- 27:22Speaker 8: Dickinson likes to handle the bat a little bit. He
- 27:24Speaker 8: likes you know, Tobyville square around the front.
- 27:26Speaker 3: He saits three.
- 27:26Speaker 8: Thirty in the year, and I think that the wild
- 27:29Speaker 8: card honestly is mile and you know mileon. It was
- 27:33Speaker 8: the first time we've seen Milomb at an extended period
- 27:35Speaker 8: of time this year really get going, you know, even
- 27:38Speaker 8: as alts were hard outs, and uh, you know, to
- 27:41Speaker 8: see him do that and kind of get back in
- 27:43Speaker 8: the format that he was last year, I think that's
- 27:45Speaker 8: gonna be huge row shoots in the region, in the
- 27:47Speaker 8: Super Regional and then going to nom A hopefully.
- 27:51Speaker 3: All right there. He is our guy.
- 27:52Speaker 4: Mikey Matzek, former LSU Tiger, LSU legend MLB player.
- 27:56Speaker 3: You can catch him on miked up as well. Him
- 27:58Speaker 3: and j Mitch do a fantastic stick job there. Mikey.
- 28:01Speaker 3: We always appreciate the time, sir, I appreciate you.
- 28:04Speaker 8: I can't believe it. Let y'all hang out.
- 28:05Speaker 3: Together and we get paid to hang out.
- 28:11Speaker 8: You know what good for You'll thank you.
- 28:12Speaker 3: I appreciate that. I told you last night. Man. We
- 28:14Speaker 3: got to get you in studio soon.
- 28:16Speaker 8: Whenever, whenever, I'm ready, all right, figure it out.
- 28:19Speaker 3: Appreciated Mikey.
- 28:20Speaker 8: All right, boys, thank y'all.
- 28:21Speaker 4: All right, great insight from Mikey Matuk there and so
- 28:24Speaker 4: many different options for j Johnson. Man, Yeah, great dude,
- 28:31Speaker 4: good baseball player, doing big things in the media game
- 28:34Speaker 4: as well. And he had a doctor's appointment and he's like,
- 28:37Speaker 4: I'm gonna find a way to figure it out to
- 28:38Speaker 4: join y'all.
- 28:39Speaker 3: It's been nice. Like in the background they said.
- 28:41Speaker 4: Uh, Mikey, Mikey, Mikey should ask him what kind of
- 28:48Speaker 4: doctor is it.
- 28:49Speaker 3: I've been pretty personal though, Yeah, what's wrong? Like you like,
- 28:53Speaker 3: what's up? Did you get good news or bad?
- 28:57Speaker 8: Dudes?
- 28:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I hope he's okay.
- 28:59Speaker 2: Yeah up, all right, Well full fool, I'll take it.
- 29:10Speaker 4: Actually says in the Bible you shouldn't call people fools.

- 31:05Speaker 5: You gotta get it off when I hear this song
- 31:08Speaker 5: and anything about the beds. Think about Sister Act two.
- 31:12Speaker 5: Oh my god, that's a great movie.
- 31:14Speaker 3: Film, my, what a film. Incredible. Have we seen Sister
- 31:19Speaker 3: one or two? Across the table? Seen one? Okay, okay,
- 31:22Speaker 3: all right, all right, who's good?
- 31:24Speaker 5: Though one's great? To see two is legendary.
- 31:29Speaker 11: Got to see Broadway as well. We were in New
- 31:32Speaker 11: York and Raven Simone played the Whoope gold Burn was good?
- 31:35Speaker 3: All right? You know what g o? Do you know me?
- 31:42Speaker 3: What a great movie singing? You know, I gotta pay
- 31:47Speaker 3: the I gotta singing.
- 31:48Speaker 4: I got add something food on the table, probably not
- 31:51Speaker 4: gonna probably not gonna shock anybody. But I have tried
- 31:55Speaker 4: so many Broadway plays, multiple even like the Million Dollar,
- 32:00Speaker 4: which is like Elvis, Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis
- 32:03Speaker 4: and Pearl Perkins like my jam like stuff that I
- 32:07Speaker 4: I came.
- 32:09Speaker 3: I'm not into them.
- 32:10Speaker 6: Have you seen Chicago?
- 32:11Speaker 3: Uh No, I've seen Lion King Chicago.
- 32:14Speaker 4: I've seen all the like whatever the big ones are
- 32:16Speaker 4: you know everything Hamilton, like we try to go. I've
- 32:20Speaker 4: not seen Hamilton. I've not seen Hamilton. I feel like
- 32:22Speaker 4: I have seen it because I've seen all the clips.
- 32:24Speaker 4: Yeah sure, but man, I want it to be like
- 32:27Speaker 4: this thing. I really really do.
- 32:28Speaker 6: And I just I mean, I saw one last time
- 32:31Speaker 6: I was there. It's called Oh Mary. It was really good.
- 32:33Speaker 6: It was a little too.
- 32:35Speaker 12: Much for me at some points, but it was it
- 32:37Speaker 12: was good though, like it was about Mary Todd Lincoln, Okay,
- 32:41Speaker 12: but it was funny again.
- 32:43Speaker 4: This is look it's me. Yeah, not y'all play. I
- 32:47Speaker 4: seen Phantom good on you have before, not in not
- 32:50Speaker 4: like in New York.
- 32:50Speaker 6: I think like if you see Phantom on Broadway.
- 32:53Speaker 4: I saw that at the Strand Theater in Shreveport, Louis
- 32:56Speaker 4: And the shout out.
- 32:56Speaker 3: To the streams.
- 32:57Speaker 5: You saw the legit version.
- 32:59Speaker 11: It's a actively great Yeah.
- 33:03Speaker 5: Credit to you for like wanting to like I want
- 33:05Speaker 5: to like I do like I feel like that person
- 33:07Speaker 5: is like you're trying experiencing the cool things.
- 33:10Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 33:10Speaker 4: Yeah, my title brain comprehend it is I just don't
- 33:13Speaker 4: like that cup of music.
- 33:14Speaker 5: I know so that that kind of love.
- 33:17Speaker 4: But I love like, look, I'm not gonna do movies
- 33:19Speaker 4: like I like Elvis movies, all of me singing in them.
- 33:22Speaker 11: So we saw Jersey Boys last time, and that was
- 33:25Speaker 11: that was probably the best one I've seen. That was
- 33:27Speaker 11: the one that I really liked.
- 33:29Speaker 5: Can I tell you that Amanda Flann would punch you
- 33:31Speaker 5: in the face.
- 33:32Speaker 9: I know she Yeah, she's always been music in musical theater,
- 33:39Speaker 9: but she has lived in New York for years and years,
- 33:41Speaker 9: and she's a voice teacher, voice coach for Broadway.
- 33:44Speaker 4: I know people on Broadway, but it's not me hating
- 33:47Speaker 4: on them, no, I know myself. Yeah, because you want to,
- 33:50Speaker 4: I want to. I want I woul experience what everybody else.
- 33:52Speaker 3: I'm gonna make it sound like you hate it. True,
- 33:55Speaker 3: I would do the same to you. Oh yeah, clearly.
- 33:59Speaker 5: I mean you have no culture, uncultured swine. I love
- 34:04Speaker 5: musical theater always, but I kind of grew up with
- 34:06Speaker 5: my two older sisters, so they both did it like
- 34:09Speaker 5: in middle school, high school, and my sister did its
- 34:11Speaker 5: like after after high school, of course.
- 34:13Speaker 3: But I was a dancer sign. I mean I grew
- 34:15Speaker 3: up you know, fan of the odds. Yeah, no, I
- 34:19Speaker 3: know that. I know that about your super culture.
- 34:21Speaker 4: That's very worldly, the most cultured person you've ever met.
- 34:25Speaker 3: From Tyler, Texas. You know, City of Roses.
- 34:29Speaker 11: What the Nutcracker has an opening for particle party?
- 34:33Speaker 3: Dad does?
- 34:37Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, unless I'm the lead ballerina guy.
- 34:43Speaker 3: Yeah, that's real, big QB one energy.
- 34:45Speaker 5: A ballerinas, a.
- 34:46Speaker 3: Guy having a shirt. This is grit on. You think
- 34:51Speaker 3: I know that?
- 34:52Speaker 5: Well, I figured y'all might have talked about it with
- 34:54Speaker 5: T Bob.
- 34:55Speaker 4: If he did, I would no offense when he started
- 34:57Speaker 4: talking about that.
- 34:58Speaker 3: I mean I didn't know anything about it, so like
- 35:00Speaker 3: I wasn't hon Is that man ballerine? Is it all?
- 35:04Speaker 4: It is?
- 35:04Speaker 6: Ballerino?
- 35:05Speaker 5: Is a ballerina?
- 35:05Speaker 3: Look, you knew that you're in.
- 35:07Speaker 5: I kind of halfway said it as a joke.
- 35:09Speaker 3: To start with.
- 35:11Speaker 12: In French, a male ballet dancer can be called a
- 35:13Speaker 12: dance sour.
- 35:16Speaker 5: I gotta tell you though, that the tights to me
- 35:18Speaker 5: are are a bit much like for the dudes.
- 35:21Speaker 3: Look we just cover up the crotch. Is This is
- 35:24Speaker 3: a hell.
- 35:24Speaker 4: Of an idea from Daniel says Jake should make his
- 35:28Speaker 4: own Broadway production following the story of a full back.
- 35:31Speaker 3: Call it fourth and Goal. Now, if you had.
- 35:35Speaker 4: A Broadway play that featured Mike Alstott, Moose Johnson, Lorenzo O'Neill,
- 35:42Speaker 4: and Tom Rathman in tights.
- 35:44Speaker 3: I'm there. I don't care what they're wearing. No baby
- 35:47Speaker 3: cakes there, No.
- 35:49Speaker 4: You make it about the West Coast offense full back? Yep,
- 35:53Speaker 4: that's interesting.
- 35:54Speaker 3: So what's your what's.
- 35:55Speaker 11: Your your whole plot though, like, what what's your problem
- 35:59Speaker 11: in the school?
- 36:00Speaker 3: Too gritty to be pretty?
- 36:01Speaker 5: I would say something like a Captain America type thing,
- 36:04Speaker 5: like you start out as scrawny little.
- 36:05Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, get picked on. Yeah, you have all
- 36:08Speaker 3: these like depressing songs about it. I got pushed to
- 36:10Speaker 3: the ground.
- 36:11Speaker 4: You gotta have a problem in it too, and like
- 36:14Speaker 4: the little bully, like always walk around with your benching.
- 36:17Speaker 3: Yeah, and if you're not you know enough, wait, like
- 36:21Speaker 3: he's shaming you.
- 36:22Speaker 5: Yeah, little dumb Mike, you all start over there stuff
- 36:26Speaker 5: you're in the locker.
- 36:27Speaker 11: Or you could do something like a guy grew up
- 36:30Speaker 11: watching those. Not many people carry a full back anymore.
- 36:34Speaker 11: He's trying to make a name for himself bringing them.
- 36:36Speaker 11: He gets a spot at the end. I love that too.
- 36:40Speaker 3: It's a good idea, Cole South says.
- 36:41Speaker 4: Hester finally admitted he didn't pay attention to most of
- 36:44Speaker 4: what you've about. I paid attention. I paid attention. I
- 36:50Speaker 4: just didn't have to talk a lot. Which it took
- 36:53Speaker 4: me some getting used to that because you're full of it,
- 36:56Speaker 4: because I've always been over here. And then when I
- 37:00Speaker 4: sat over there, initially like I, you know, you go
- 37:03Speaker 4: to talk, and then so I just I learned my
- 37:06Speaker 4: way and T Bob did a great job, did a
- 37:10Speaker 4: fantastic job. I loved every minute of it.
- 37:14Speaker 5: I'm glad you can't talk because I'm I'm not a talker.
- 37:17Speaker 3: Hey, I do love this, Okay.
- 37:18Speaker 4: So like typically in the radio profession, the radio world,
- 37:22Speaker 4: like as the lead, like when you're done talking, that
- 37:26Speaker 4: gives the other person an opportunity, right, And again, like
- 37:30Speaker 4: that was something like I had to kind of figure
- 37:31Speaker 4: out sitting in that chair.
- 37:32Speaker 3: It's like, all right, when does tea Bob want me
- 37:33Speaker 3: to talk? Whatever? Whatever? But typically that's how it happens.
- 37:37Speaker 3: I do love that.
- 37:38Speaker 4: Sometimes I'll finish talking and Flynn will just sit there
- 37:41Speaker 4: and look at me and he'll go, yep, yeah.
- 37:46Speaker 3: That's it.
- 37:46Speaker 4: Eborate on that when I got talking, that's that's when
- 37:50Speaker 4: you pick it up.
- 37:50Speaker 3: Like I'm John Stockton, you're crawling Malone.
- 37:53Speaker 5: Well, I'm just like, yeah, you need to finish that
- 37:55Speaker 5: point a little bit more. Jacob, you didn't. You didn't
- 37:57Speaker 5: land that plane an opportunity.
- 38:00Speaker 3: On that All seven years we've done radio together, just
- 38:03Speaker 3: looks at me.
- 38:04Speaker 5: It's kind of fun. I mean, one day we're gonna
- 38:06Speaker 5: get that chemistry, dude. If we don't, we're gonna be
- 38:09Speaker 5: hamming egging it.
- 38:10Speaker 6: One day he was like, can I say something?
- 38:14Speaker 3: Please do? Yeah?
- 38:16Speaker 5: I think that was segment one minute, one day one.
- 38:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 38:23Speaker 4: I do like where this play is going though the
- 38:25Speaker 4: last fullback.
- 38:28Speaker 3: I like that. Yeah, God, that could be like a let.
- 38:33Speaker 4: Me let me get a credit writing a Broadway play.
- 38:36Speaker 4: Won't be able to tell me nothing.
- 38:42Speaker 3: I thought you talked a lot.
- 38:43Speaker 4: Now, That's why I said, like I yes, absolutely, and
- 38:50Speaker 4: we just go to like no doubt.
- 38:53Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, we're all going to get our credit.
- 38:56Speaker 4: But that's that's why I say, like the Big Voice
- 38:59Speaker 4: lady should say yappers, Like if you didn't watch me
- 39:02Speaker 4: before I went on O TV, and if you don't
- 39:05Speaker 4: listen to Off Campus, you probably I didn't know that
- 39:09Speaker 4: I am a yapper.
- 39:11Speaker 3: I do like to talk. Do you enjoy it? I
- 39:14Speaker 3: don't really feel like you've always been like that though.
- 39:17Speaker 3: It's a learned.
- 39:21Speaker 4: Like if you would have told me, like this is
- 39:23Speaker 4: what I picked as a profession, Like you're crazy.
- 39:26Speaker 3: It's no way.
- 39:27Speaker 5: It's a a j hit it when we had a
- 39:29Speaker 5: it's the same way.
- 39:29Speaker 3: He wasn't a talk.
- 39:31Speaker 1: I think.
- 39:31Speaker 4: I think AJ and I found this media world kind
- 39:35Speaker 4: of in the same way.
- 39:36Speaker 5: So I make this commitment to all of our listeners
- 39:39Speaker 5: into the wolf Pack. I will get better at the
- 39:41Speaker 5: end of talk.
- 39:43Speaker 3: I will.
- 39:45Speaker 4: No, no, no, you're great at talking. The only time you
- 39:47Speaker 4: don't talk is when I passed.
- 39:51Speaker 5: There's some awkward exchanges. You got to work until you
- 39:53Speaker 5: have to hear, you know what. Like in football, we
- 39:57Speaker 5: practiced the exchange we do.
- 40:00Speaker 3: We do every day.
- 40:01Speaker 5: We just center quarterback yeah, and quarterback running back yeah.
- 40:04Speaker 5: Handoffs yeah.
- 40:05Speaker 12: I think you're doing great. You see more reps. You're
- 40:08Speaker 12: gonna do a lot better. But I think you're doing
- 40:10Speaker 12: really well.
- 40:11Speaker 5: You can't replicate repetitions people exactly.
- 40:14Speaker 3: It's very true.
- 40:15Speaker 6: See even the aggressively have gotten better throughout the week.
- 40:19Speaker 5: I mean, I'd be shocked if there hadn't been all
- 40:22Speaker 5: store fifty sales and all these lives from today.
- 40:25Speaker 4: All right, well let's see how good you've gotten, because
- 40:28Speaker 4: we're gonna take our last break, finish the show like
- 40:30Speaker 4: we always do.
- 40:32Speaker 3: Ask the bench, Oh yeah.
- 40:35Speaker 6: Your next live is All Star.
- 40:38Speaker 5: Okay, all right, so look, apparently I got a little
- 40:42Speaker 5: bit of an issue.
- 40:43Speaker 3: Ask the bench.
- 40:44Speaker 4: When we come back to the bench, would you like
- 40:48Speaker 4: to tell the people Matt Flynn about All Star Toyota.
- 40:52Speaker 3: Dot com Toyota tell the people about it. I mean,
- 40:56Speaker 3: tell them about it. It speaks for themselves.
- 40:58Speaker 4: Well yeah, but they also want you to speak about them.
- 41:01Speaker 3: You know.
- 41:01Speaker 4: You can go the buying new angle where everything's available,
- 41:05Speaker 4: multiple options, multiple SUVs, midsis, full size van, multiple trucks,
- 41:09Speaker 4: multiple sedans, hybrid.
- 41:10Speaker 3: You can go to the leasing route.
- 41:12Speaker 5: Where can I tell you the leasing route? I called
- 41:15Speaker 5: Miss Lisa a couple of years ago after watching this show. Yeah,
- 41:18Speaker 5: because we had a flight book the whole family. We
- 41:20Speaker 5: were going. I think we were going to North Carolina.
- 41:22Speaker 3: This feels like it's going to be a rental, not
- 41:24Speaker 3: a lease.
- 41:25Speaker 5: Yeah, it was a real leased it for a couple
- 41:27Speaker 5: of days. Anyway, my little girl was sick and like
- 41:33Speaker 5: her head was all stopped up and she was like
- 41:35Speaker 5: she was three or four years old. I'm like, I'm
- 41:37Speaker 5: not putting on a plane, and so I called, rented
- 41:40Speaker 5: a car, drove North Carolina back. It was one of
- 41:42Speaker 5: the best trips we ever had. All Star All Star
- 41:45Speaker 5: Toyota with.
- 41:51Speaker 10: Your boy fan.
- 41:52Speaker 3: We love rap music.
- 41:54Speaker 5: Listen, we got a call.
- 41:56Speaker 1: From players to legends, Hester and Flynn breakdown, l shoot
- 42:00Speaker 1: football like only champions can.
- 42:06Speaker 10: Got just what you need Chris Brown tea pain. You
- 42:10Speaker 10: heard it here First Radio, We love you.
- 42:31Speaker 3: All right, welcome again, o TV ass the bench. Uh,
- 42:37Speaker 3: the internet is like creeping crawling.
- 42:41Speaker 5: I've been on the hot spot all morning.
- 42:43Speaker 4: Okay, so do you have asked the bench questions? Because
- 42:46Speaker 4: my internet is just a quarreling.
- 42:49Speaker 5: We got the sound like a hashtag situation.
- 42:51Speaker 12: Yeah, oh my gosh, that's the best.
- 42:57Speaker 5: I got one here. That's the bitch. I'll come here,
- 43:00Speaker 5: like twenty monitors but use cardboard cutouts for the sponsor display.
- 43:04Speaker 6: Wait, what do you mean?
- 43:05Speaker 4: So we have monitor, monitor, monitors, monitors.
- 43:08Speaker 5: But these even cardboards. It's it's more premium than cardboard.
- 43:13Speaker 5: Mean those yeh, why it's not a digital budget, I
- 43:18Speaker 5: mean it's monitor.
- 43:20Speaker 3: That's just a good question. But it's actually like a custom.
- 43:23Speaker 12: But we switch we switch them out, but I guess
- 43:25Speaker 12: you could switch them.
- 43:27Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe more like a screen in the shape. That
- 43:31Speaker 3: would be like it'd be a one time by a
- 43:35Speaker 3: one time by.
- 43:37Speaker 5: Uh, but it's better than cardboard.
- 43:41Speaker 3: It's much more.
- 43:43Speaker 4: Favorite football play while at l s U, like one
- 43:48Speaker 4: singular play I would say my favorite why I was
- 43:54Speaker 4: there was Flinda Bird.
- 43:56Speaker 3: Against Auburn for a touchdown.
- 43:58Speaker 4: The the mechanics of that play, Will Muschamp running a
- 44:03Speaker 4: defense that we couldn't believe he was running, Matt recognizing
- 44:06Speaker 4: it immediately and kind of changing up some of the
- 44:10Speaker 4: stuff in the back end, and then me and Sean
- 44:13Speaker 4: picked it up.
- 44:14Speaker 3: You delivered a strike.
- 44:17Speaker 5: We've we've that's over that whole place, and like we're
- 44:20Speaker 5: gonna do it more.
- 44:21Speaker 3: But I mean, that would be probably that's my favorite.
- 44:24Speaker 4: That'd be probably tops because if if you would have
- 44:26Speaker 4: had like a camera and us miked up like during
- 44:28Speaker 4: that whole process, Yep, it's almost like that's the only
- 44:32Speaker 4: way you would believe how I can played out ye stuff,
- 44:36Speaker 4: that would be that would be. But taking a knee
- 44:39Speaker 4: National Championship, my first touchdown, passing the peach Bowl to
- 44:44Speaker 4: Bluster Davis.
- 44:45Speaker 3: I think it was volunteer and Go was in play.
- 44:49Speaker 5: It was just like a man, yeah I'm here type
- 44:51Speaker 5: of flight moment, like I can yeah, I can do
- 44:53Speaker 5: this on a big stage. Like that's a good, good feeling.
- 44:56Speaker 5: You always believe you can do it, but actually go
- 44:58Speaker 5: and do.
- 44:58Speaker 4: It my like for like I guess the play that
- 45:01Speaker 4: I carried the ball like the florist does the easy answer.
- 45:03Speaker 4: But SEC championship game we put in ISO that week
- 45:07Speaker 4: twenty ISO Tennessee talked so much trash to me the
- 45:10Speaker 4: year before, one player even asking me why I wasn't
- 45:14Speaker 4: playing at a service academy because I was a white
- 45:15Speaker 4: running back.
- 45:17Speaker 3: Uh So the first play of that.
- 45:18Speaker 4: Game, I wanted to set a tone, and a tone
- 45:20Speaker 4: was set and let's go. I told him, a grown
- 45:22Speaker 4: man's gonna be coming down these tracks all day long,
- 45:25Speaker 4: so get ready. Uh probably like individuals maybe like tech run. No,
- 45:30Speaker 4: I mean that I disrespect to the go dogs.
- 45:32Speaker 5: What's this four seven?
- 45:34Speaker 3: Uh? Look look up to that?
- 45:36Speaker 4: Remember ran a faster forty between the two of us
- 45:38Speaker 4: at the Nike camp. I don't care what camp you go,
- 45:40Speaker 4: Nike Combine doesn't matter, but all right, we'll see you tomorrow.
- 45:43Speaker 3: I'll let your boys and girl.
- 45:46Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 45:49Speaker 4: I go to KDZ Blinds dot com. Kt o Z
