- 0:08Speaker 1: Hey, what's going on, everybody? Welcome in to another episode
- 0:11Speaker 1: of the Checo Daily. It's Andrew DiCecco, Eagles beat reporter
- 0:14Speaker 1: for InsideTheBirds.com. And it was a wild Thursday at the
- 0:19Speaker 1: Jefferson Health Training Complex because the Eagles received some very
- 0:24Speaker 1: difficult news. They will be without quarterback Jalen Hurts, certainly
- 0:29Speaker 1: for Sunday, but indefinitely with a superficial blood clot. The
- 0:35Speaker 1: team released an announcement earlier this afternoon, and I'll read
- 0:39Speaker 1: it for you because it's very important. It says, on Thursday,
- 0:44Speaker 1: October 8th, Jalen visited the training room after practice requesting
- 0:47Speaker 1: treatment for his calf. He informed the medical staff he
- 0:50Speaker 1: had been cleated during the Rams game.
- 0:52Speaker 2: On October 4th.
- 0:53Speaker 1: This was just the first treatment session for the calf
- 0:56Speaker 1: injury following the game after having practice in full both
- 1:00Speaker 1: Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday, Jalen received treatment practice in
- 1:04Speaker 1: full and was added to the practice report. Out of
- 1:07Speaker 1: an abundance of caution, an ultrasound was performed on Saturday
- 1:10Speaker 1: following the team's flight to London and walkthrough. The ultrasound
- 1:15Speaker 1: revealed a superficial blood clot. our medical staff and doctors
- 1:19Speaker 1: in London reviewed the results and concluded that activity and
- 1:22Speaker 1: mobility were important and that Jalen could safely play. Doctors
- 1:27Speaker 1: recommended a follow-up ultrasound within 72 hours of the game
- 1:30Speaker 1: and the return flight to Philadelphia. Jalen played without limitation
- 1:34Speaker 1: in the game Sunday, received treatment on Monday and Tuesday,
- 1:38Speaker 1: and practiced in full on Wednesday as reflected in the
- 1:40Speaker 1: practice report. Throughout our time in London, the end this week,
- 1:45Speaker 1: we have remained in communication with the league office regarding
- 1:48Speaker 1: the matter. On Wednesday night, a follow-up ultrasound revealed movement
- 1:52Speaker 1: in the small blood clot. Jalen will be out for
- 1:55Speaker 1: Sunday's game versus the Panthers as we determine the appropriate
- 1:57Speaker 1: course of treatment. His health and safety are our highest priority.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Scary situation, needless to say, with Jalen Hurts. And going
- 2:08Speaker 1: back to last week, On Friday, he popped up on
- 2:12Speaker 1: the injury report with a calf injury and he was
- 2:15Speaker 1: listed as a full participant. Played in the game, though
- 2:18Speaker 1: I can't imagine traveling to London on a six, seven
- 2:22Speaker 1: hour flight is good for anyone. But of course, when
- 2:27Speaker 1: you're dealing with an injury of that magnitude and.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Ben, you play the.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Game, and I understand that there's been a lot of
- 2:34Speaker 1: discourse this week as to why Jalen Hurts didn't run
- 2:37Speaker 1: as much.
- 2:37Speaker 2: He ran twice for, I think, two yards.
- 2:41Speaker 1: And Sean Mannion earlier this week mentioned that the game
- 2:43Speaker 1: plan really focused on being more pass-oriented against the Jacksonville Jaguars,
- 2:49Speaker 1: and this probably explains the rationale behind it. But Jalen
- 2:53Speaker 1: Hurts talked a little bit about the injury. And he
- 2:57Speaker 1: mentioned that he got quote unquote nicked against the Rams.
- 3:00Speaker 1: And as you heard there in the team's announcement, he
- 3:04Speaker 1: got cleated in the Rams game and he spoke about
- 3:06Speaker 1: it very briefly on Wednesday, the injury.
- 3:09Speaker 2: And he said, it was a very unique experience to
- 3:11Speaker 2: say the least.
- 3:13Speaker 1: I don't want to get into the details of kind
- 3:16Speaker 1: of leading up to the game and whatnot or whatnot, but.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Got nicked up in the Rams game.
- 3:21Speaker 1: And, for those who were at the game, they mentioned
- 3:24Speaker 1: that Jalen was slow to get to the practice to,
- 3:28Speaker 1: to get to the game field, um, on Sunday at
- 3:32Speaker 1: Tottenham Hotspur stadium. And he got there, you know, he
- 3:36Speaker 1: took the field right before kickoff and really all he
- 3:40Speaker 1: offered on Wednesday about that was trying to rest. So
- 3:43Speaker 1: clearly he was hampered by that and he played the
- 3:46Speaker 1: full game and he toughed it out.
- 3:48Speaker 2: I think he deserves a lot of credit for that.
- 3:50Speaker 1: That's, That's a warrior out there battling, and he put
- 3:54Speaker 1: the Eagles in position to win that game. Then you
- 3:57Speaker 1: get to practice this week, Wednesday. He was still listed
- 4:02Speaker 1: with the calf injury, but he was a full go.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Then this injury news drops like a bombshell Thursday around
- 4:10Speaker 1: just before 1 o'clock in the afternoon. Obviously, the priority
- 4:15Speaker 1: here is for the Eagles and you always feel for
- 4:19Speaker 1: the person first on a human level, but it's about
- 4:21Speaker 1: getting him the proper treatment and figuring out the most
- 4:24Speaker 1: appropriate course of action to ensure that he can make
- 4:27Speaker 1: a healthy and speedy recovery here.
- 4:30Speaker 2: I mean, the hits keep coming for the Eagles.
- 4:34Speaker 1: I know Jordan Mailata after the game mentioned that last
- 4:38Speaker 1: week was like a week from hell.
- 4:41Speaker 2: You see your right tackle retire, your.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Left guard slash center who you've worked with for years
- 4:48Speaker 1: and he gets traded away. There's a lot of attrition
- 4:52Speaker 1: parsing through the roster. And Jordan, my lot is pretty
- 4:55Speaker 1: much the last man standing. And he said, yeah, I
- 4:59Speaker 1: think I spoke too soon. I think I jumped the
- 5:00Speaker 1: gun there. And, you know, Jordan, my lot is someone
- 5:04Speaker 1: that is more or less that the team spokesperson, he's
- 5:09Speaker 1: the guy that you go to when you, Want to
- 5:12Speaker 1: hear about sort of the state of the team and
- 5:15Speaker 1: he's keeping everything together as best he can. I think
- 5:18Speaker 1: that he has really done a good job of helping
- 5:21Speaker 1: a lot of the younger players remain focused and instill
- 5:24Speaker 1: confidence in them. Jake Majors, for example, spoke to me
- 5:28Speaker 1: about Jordan and how he sort of helped him. prepare
- 5:32Speaker 1: for that first game and settle him in and get
- 5:35Speaker 1: him locked in and in those situations but this is
- 5:39Speaker 1: a really challenging time for the Eagles and you may
- 5:42Speaker 1: look at it as you know something you know another
- 5:47Speaker 1: injury that they're dealing with but it's it really speaks
- 5:51Speaker 1: to a lot of the adversity that they're going through
- 5:53Speaker 1: they they've now lost their leader their starting quarterback for
- 5:58Speaker 1: an undetermined amount of time.
- 5:59Speaker 2: You can't put a timeline on that.
- 6:01Speaker 1: You don't quite know what the scenario is, but it's
- 6:04Speaker 1: a very serious injury and pretty scary. So I want
- 6:09Speaker 1: to find what Jordan Mailata had to say because.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Some of his quotes here are really strong and.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Here, there it is. You did call it the week
- 6:22Speaker 1: from hell. Do you have to manufacture? And the question
- 6:26Speaker 1: was trying to manufacture the positivity, the energy, and all that.
- 6:31Speaker 1: And Jordan, before he says that, he goes, I think
- 6:32Speaker 1: I was a little early. I might have jumped the
- 6:35Speaker 1: gun on that one. Holy cow. Yeah, it's the NFL, man.
- 6:38Speaker 1: It's the gift that keeps on giving. Might have jumped
- 6:41Speaker 1: the gun on that one. And he mentioned, when talking
- 6:45Speaker 1: about his energy, he said, again, I think it's, it
- 6:49Speaker 1: comes naturally. I think it's just, you know, authenticity. It's
- 6:53Speaker 1: just who I am. You know, I reflect on how
- 6:56Speaker 1: I handled the week last week, you know, and then
- 6:58Speaker 1: correct even, uh, not just the game, but just how
- 7:02Speaker 1: I led during the week. And I thought, you know,
- 7:04Speaker 1: I should just come in with high energy this week, regardless.
- 7:07Speaker 1: And this is before the news. And he talked about
- 7:10Speaker 1: a lot of the younger players and, and what his
- 7:14Speaker 1: focus is right now. So he said that, He's focused
- 7:18Speaker 1: on getting guys like Jake Majors and Willie Lampkin and
- 7:24Speaker 1: all those guys dialed in and making sure that he's
- 7:27Speaker 1: that steadying presence that keeps things moving forward and he
- 7:31Speaker 1: knows how to really respond to different challenges. And I
- 7:36Speaker 1: can't say enough about what I've observed from Jordan Milata
- 7:39Speaker 1: this season in terms of just his leadership being a
- 7:42Speaker 1: pillar of stability, a calming presence, and a tremendous mentor
- 7:47Speaker 1: and resource for a lot of young players, but also
- 7:50Speaker 1: an example for maybe some veteran players who haven't gone
- 7:53Speaker 1: through this. And as we sort of pivot to what
- 7:56Speaker 1: this means in the immediacy, well, that means that Tanner
- 8:00Speaker 1: McKee is going to be the starting quarterback. And Tanner
- 8:04Speaker 1: mentioned that Jalen sort of turned to him in the
- 8:07Speaker 1: locker room and said, looks like you're going to be
- 8:08Speaker 1: the guy.

- 10:04Speaker 3: abundant local power is already helping lower utility bills and
- 10:08Speaker 3: creating jobs. But depending on where you live, you may

- 10:30Speaker 1: And Tanner said that they spoke about the reason why,
- 10:33Speaker 1: and he said he appreciated it. J-Win instilled confidence in him.
- 10:36Speaker 1: And he mentioned that he's ready for this opportunity. He's
- 10:40Speaker 1: comfortable with this offense. What's different now compared to some
- 10:44Speaker 1: of the week 18 games that he's gone out there
- 10:46Speaker 1: and played. He said, I'm a little older. I know
- 10:49Speaker 1: a little bit more. He mentioned his comfort level and
- 10:51Speaker 1: Sean Mannion's offense. And, He also mentioned that when asked
- 10:55Speaker 1: about the quarterback competition between himself and Andy Dalton, that
- 10:59Speaker 1: it was healthy.
- 11:00Speaker 2: And he noted how good of a teammate Andy was.
- 11:03Speaker 1: And if he saw something that he reflected back on,
- 11:06Speaker 1: maybe that he saw in 2018, he would say, this
- 11:09Speaker 1: is what I saw back in 2018. And this is
- 11:13Speaker 1: what I liked versus this. And sort of just being
- 11:16Speaker 1: a good teammate amidst the positional battle they were going through.
- 11:21Speaker 1: So Tanner McKee, We'll take the field Sunday afternoon, a
- 11:25Speaker 1: different quarterback. We'll see what he has in store. Now,
- 11:29Speaker 1: he did not have a particularly good training camp. Neither
- 11:32Speaker 1: did Andy Dalton. Andy Dalton was named the number two quarterback.
- 11:36Speaker 1: And then leading up to the Rams game, they flip-flopped
- 11:40Speaker 1: and they went with Tanner McKee as the number two.
- 11:42Speaker 1: And then last Friday, they released Andy Dalton. So right now,
- 11:48Speaker 1: they have Tanner McKee and they have Cole Payton. So
- 11:51Speaker 1: what I'm most curious to learn about Tanner McKee in
- 11:54Speaker 1: this matchup is how is he in terms of processing?
- 11:57Speaker 1: Because it looked like he was thinking quite a bit
- 12:00Speaker 1: in training camp. Maybe his mind was racing. You have
- 12:04Speaker 1: to make quick decisions. You have to throw with anticipation.
- 12:07Speaker 1: And it seemed like for someone who was going through
- 12:09Speaker 1: a totally new system, something that he hasn't really been
- 12:13Speaker 1: asked to do at the NFL level.
- 12:14Speaker 2: It looked like he was swimming a little bit.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Now, I don't say that to alarm anyone. I say
- 12:18Speaker 1: that to tell you where he was at that time. Now,
- 12:22Speaker 1: full transparency, we don't get to see the quarterbacks in action.
- 12:26Speaker 1: We don't see practice like we did in training camp.
- 12:28Speaker 2: And that's.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Sort of standard practice that's par for the course that's
- 12:33Speaker 1: how it is everywhere but we don't get to see
- 12:36Speaker 1: the full allotment of practice so I can't tell you
- 12:39Speaker 1: how he's responded since then or how he's really taken
- 12:42Speaker 1: to this offense what's different about his game all I
- 12:46Speaker 1: have to go off of is what I saw in
- 12:47Speaker 1: training camp in the preseason now this is interesting because
- 12:51Speaker 1: a lot of the players this week that Tanner repped
- 12:53Speaker 1: with in the preseason he's going to be out there
- 12:56Speaker 1: with so I I'm talking about Darius Cooper, potentially Jake Majors.
- 13:01Speaker 1: And if Jake does, in fact, become the center for
- 13:04Speaker 1: the second week in a row, well, he's worked a
- 13:07Speaker 1: ton with Tanner McKee in the preseason.
- 13:09Speaker 2: So there's a little bit of a bonus there.
- 13:12Speaker 1: He's handed off to Damian Pierce in the summer and
- 13:17Speaker 1: briefly in the preseason. Pierce only played in the final
- 13:20Speaker 1: preseason game and had four carries there.
- 13:22Speaker 2: So... it's not doom and gloom, but this is another
- 13:28Speaker 2: shot to.
- 13:28Speaker 1: The body for a team that it feels like couldn't
- 13:32Speaker 1: afford to withstand another injury. And now it's at the
- 13:35Speaker 1: most important position in all of sports quarterback. And it's,
- 13:39Speaker 1: it's not a hamstring. It's not a shoulder. It's a
- 13:42Speaker 1: blood clot. So I just want to reiterate the importance
- 13:45Speaker 1: of this injury. And first and foremost, beyond his contributions
- 13:49Speaker 1: on the field, you have to, feel for Jalen Hurts,
- 13:52Speaker 1: the person on a human level, this is a scary
- 13:55Speaker 1: situation and you hope he's able to.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Make a healthy and speedy recovery, as I mentioned.
- 14:00Speaker 1: And then the on-field stuff is all secondary, but it
- 14:03Speaker 1: was certainly a shock to a lot of the teammates
- 14:07Speaker 1: that were speaking in the locker room on Thursday. And
- 14:11Speaker 1: it just adds another element to this season that just
- 14:15Speaker 1: when you think there can't be any more curve balls thrown,
- 14:18Speaker 1: certainly this early and here we are week six and
- 14:20Speaker 1: we're now having this conversation. So, I mean, there's not
- 14:25Speaker 1: a whole lot that that can happen that will surprise
- 14:28Speaker 1: me at this stage, but the Eagles just have two
- 14:30Speaker 1: quarterbacks on the roster and Tanner McKee and Cole Payton. Now,
- 14:35Speaker 1: Andy Dalton was released and yeah, I mean, he apparently
- 14:40Speaker 1: has other options. That's what some of the reports out there.
- 14:43Speaker 1: So not a slam dunk that he comes back, certainly
- 14:46Speaker 1: not a slam dunk. And that would put the Eagles
- 14:48Speaker 1: in a, and a predicament because you can't go into
- 14:51Speaker 1: a game with just two quarterbacks, and there's no one
- 14:54Speaker 1: that you can really sign this late in the game,
- 14:56Speaker 1: especially if they don't have any experience in the system,
- 14:58Speaker 1: that's going to be able to give you sort of
- 15:01Speaker 1: a comfort level of having them on hand. You don't
- 15:04Speaker 1: have any practice squad quarterbacks. There's nobody that's signed to
- 15:08Speaker 1: this point, and we're going on Friday. So it puts
- 15:13Speaker 1: the Eagles in a really difficult spot, and it's ironic
- 15:16Speaker 1: because– They carried four quarterbacks for so long. They release
- 15:20Speaker 1: Andy Dalton, and then Jalen Hurts comes up with the
- 15:26Speaker 1: blood clot.
- 15:27Speaker 2: So just a really odd and.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Tricky situation that the Eagles are going to have to
- 15:36Speaker 1: find a way to navigate through. One thing I will say,
- 15:39Speaker 1: and I know that Nick Sirianni has gotten quite a
- 15:41Speaker 1: bit of criticism this week based off of his late-game scenario.
- 15:45Speaker 1: decision making, game management and all that. And rightfully so,
- 15:50Speaker 1: rightfully so. But you also have to say that the
- 15:53Speaker 1: team came out there ready to play. And given all
- 15:56Speaker 1: that had gone on the previous week, the retirements, the trades,
- 15:59Speaker 1: the attrition, the team was locked.
- 16:02Speaker 2: In and ready to go. And they didn't come out flat.
- 16:05Speaker 2: They didn't pack it in.
- 16:06Speaker 1: They didn't look like they would rather be elsewhere or
- 16:09Speaker 1: they didn't have a woe was me. mentality they went
- 16:13Speaker 1: out there and they they took it to the Jacksonville
- 16:15Speaker 1: Jake they gave him their best shot and for a
- 16:18Speaker 1: half of football that first half they look like a
- 16:21Speaker 1: team that wanted it more and they were taking advantage
- 16:23Speaker 1: of the coaching shortcomings of Liam Cohen and Trevor Lawrence
- 16:28Speaker 1: not playing his best and they just couldn't get the
- 16:31Speaker 1: job done but they had that game one and I
- 16:33Speaker 1: think if Nick Sirianni is going to be criticized for
- 16:35Speaker 1: his late game decision making he also has to be
- 16:38Speaker 1: recognized for his voice resonating and having the guys ready
- 16:43Speaker 1: to play in a really challenging spot. So that's where
- 16:47Speaker 1: the Eagles are going into this game against the Carolina Panthers.
- 16:50Speaker 1: And they're a, they're a decent football team and they
- 16:53Speaker 1: have some good players on that side, namely quarterback Bryce Young,
- 16:57Speaker 1: who has done a really nice job this season. He's
- 16:59Speaker 1: sort of coming into his own. You saw the growth
- 17:02Speaker 1: last season a little bit, especially late in the year.
- 17:05Speaker 1: And now you're seeing it really the, just come to fruition.
- 17:08Speaker 1: But again, Let's get to the injury report, because not
- 17:11Speaker 1: practicing on Thursday, running back Saquon Barkley, hamstring, defensive back
- 17:15Speaker 1: Michael Carter, abdomen, outside linebacker A.J. Epinesa, back, outside linebacker J.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Lux Hunt, knee, ankle, quarterback Jalen Hurts, calf, running back
- 17:25Speaker 1: Will Shipley, foot, and wide receiver Dontabian Wicks, hamstring.
- 17:29Speaker 2: So Wicks was listed as limited with.
- 17:31Speaker 1: The hamstring on Thursday, on Wednesday, excuse me, and then
- 17:35Speaker 1: today he was a non-participant, or a Today he was
- 17:40Speaker 1: a non-participant. Now, last week, last Thursday, he was limited
- 17:46Speaker 1: with the hamstring, and then on Friday he was full go.
- 17:51Speaker 1: So we'll see where things stand on Friday, but that
- 17:55Speaker 1: pop-up on a Thursday to not practice, that's another body
- 18:01Speaker 1: shot that the Eagles are going to have to see
- 18:04Speaker 1: what it all means moving forward.
- 18:05Speaker 2: These hamstring injuries, man, keep popping up.
- 18:08Speaker 1: And that's a position right there that the Eagles can't
- 18:10Speaker 1: afford to be light at.
- 18:13Speaker 2: They already have.
- 18:14Speaker 1: Devontae Smith, and I'll get to him in a second,
- 18:16Speaker 1: who was listed as limited, so that was an upgrade.
- 18:18Speaker 2: But we'll get to it. Limited.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Cornerback, Ja'Corian Bennett, knee. Wide receiver, Hollywood Brown, ankle. Tight end,
- 18:23Speaker 1: Grant Calcaterra, back. Guard, Landon Dickerson, knee. Outside linebacker, Jonathan Grenard, ankle.
- 18:29Speaker 1: Tight end, EJ Jenkins. So you don't have Dontavion Wicks
- 18:43Speaker 1: available for Thursday's practice, but you do get Devontae Smith.
- 18:48Speaker 1: And what I will say about Devontae is that he
- 18:51Speaker 1: has been visible in the portion of practice open to
- 18:55Speaker 1: reporters for the past couple of weeks. He was working
- 18:57Speaker 1: on a jugs machine on Wednesday on a far field
- 18:59Speaker 1: when we were out there. And today he was also
- 19:02Speaker 1: spotted on a far field.
- 19:04Speaker 2: And obviously, if.
- 19:05Speaker 1: He got some limited work, that's a positive development. But again,
- 19:09Speaker 1: with these hamstring injuries, they can be tricky. And I
- 19:12Speaker 1: want to always throw that out there because sometimes, you know,
- 19:16Speaker 1: you have.
- 19:19Speaker 2: To be careful with that.
- 19:20Speaker 1: And we also don't know what limited means in terms
- 19:23Speaker 1: of like how much work were they actually.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Doing out there?
- 19:26Speaker 1: And all of that, but clearly he got a minimal
- 19:29Speaker 1: amount of work, and that is certainly progress relative to
- 19:32Speaker 1: where he's been the past week and a half. Of course,
- 19:35Speaker 1: he missed the previous two games with this hamstring injury,
- 19:39Speaker 1: and he sustained it back in the summer, so it
- 19:41Speaker 1: has lingered a little bit. You've got to be careful
- 19:44Speaker 1: with that because you don't want to further aggravate it
- 19:48Speaker 1: or make things more... challenging in terms of getting back
- 19:52Speaker 1: to full strength. So we'll see where Devante Smith lands on,
- 19:56Speaker 1: on Friday.
- 19:58Speaker 3: Fall is the season where everyone gets busier, more calls,
- 20:01Speaker 3: more customers, more chances for something to slip through the
- 20:04Speaker 3: cracks and staying ahead means having the right system, not
- 20:08Speaker 3: just working harder, That's why today's episode is brought to

- 21:36Speaker 3: Camden Apothecary, top quality cannabis, great prices, and an experience
- 21:41Speaker 3: made for Philly fans 21 and up.
- 21:44Speaker 1: Drew Kendall being back on the practice field was a
- 21:46Speaker 1: huge boost for the Eagles. Again, listed as limited with
- 21:49Speaker 1: the knee, so we don't know what that means. Anytime
- 21:55Speaker 1: you're dealing with a knee or anything like that, I
- 21:57Speaker 1: would imagine that you would want to slow play it
- 22:01Speaker 1: and be careful and take all the proper precautions with
- 22:04Speaker 1: that and just get him back out there moving around
- 22:07Speaker 1: is a good sign. If not Drew Kendall this week,
- 22:11Speaker 1: maybe it's Jake Majors. But that's not a slam dunk
- 22:13Speaker 1: either because you could potentially have Landon Dickerson back in
- 22:17Speaker 1: the mix. And who knows how they feel about Willie
- 22:20Speaker 1: Lampkin at center. So that is a little tricky. Now,
- 22:24Speaker 1: so if it were me, the offensive line that I
- 22:27Speaker 1: would roll with would be Jordan Milata at left tackle,
- 22:31Speaker 1: Landon Dickerson at left guard, Jake Majors at center, assuming
- 22:35Speaker 1: Drew Kendall doesn't play.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Right guard Tyler Steen, right tackle Markel Bell.
- 22:40Speaker 1: That's the lineup that I would roll with, and if
- 22:42Speaker 1: Markel Bell was struggling, I would not hesitate to get
- 22:45Speaker 1: Fred Johnson in there, knowing that the Carolina Panthers have
- 22:48Speaker 1: Jalen Phillips and some players who can really wreak havoc,
- 22:52Speaker 1: and when you have a guy like Tanner McKee back
- 22:54Speaker 1: there who is not mobile, you maybe have to make
- 22:58Speaker 1: some alterations that you wouldn't ordinarily have to do if
- 23:01Speaker 1: Jalen Hurts were back there. Just some of my early
- 23:04Speaker 1: thoughts about this game, and we'll see with those players
- 23:07Speaker 1: who had their practice window opened whether or not the
- 23:10Speaker 1: Eagles choose to activate them to the 53 which players
- 23:15Speaker 1: some none who would be but I can tell you
- 23:18Speaker 1: that they need Landon Dickerson and they need Grant Calcaterra
- 23:21Speaker 1: and yes they could use rookie Eli Stowers as well
- 23:24Speaker 1: because he is a pass catching tight end and in
- 23:27Speaker 1: a game like this you want to get him some
- 23:29Speaker 1: reps and maybe build some confidence, get him the ball.
- 23:33Speaker 1: But before we get ahead of ourselves, the Eagles would
- 23:35Speaker 1: have to first activate those players. But they were again limited,
- 23:39Speaker 1: so no setback there. They were limited on Wednesday as well.
- 23:42Speaker 1: And then your full goes were linebacker Zach Vaughn, shoulder,
- 23:46Speaker 1: linebacker Jahad Campbell, knee, wrist, defensive tackle Jalen Carter, wrist,
- 23:50Speaker 1: outside linebacker Arnold Ebikedi, shoulder, safety Marcus Epps, groin, tackle
- 23:55Speaker 1: Fred Johnson, knee, and safety Andrew Makuba, shoulder. Epps is
- 24:00Speaker 1: important that he's a full participant because they are light
- 24:03Speaker 1: at that position, and Michael Carter, again, didn't practice with
- 24:07Speaker 1: the abdomen injury.
- 24:08Speaker 2: So having Epps available is a boost.
- 24:12Speaker 1: You also have Kenny Moore, who could potentially jump back
- 24:16Speaker 1: there if you need him to play some safety for you,
- 24:18Speaker 1: and they have Cooper DeGene and Drew McCuba.
- 24:21Speaker 2: So not ideal. It's not an ideal group. You're really razor.
- 24:24Speaker 1: Thin there, but I think the fact that you have
- 24:27Speaker 1: Epps now on hand helps them a little bit, even
- 24:30Speaker 1: though he hasn't been playing.
- 24:32Speaker 2: Particularly well when he was available.
- 24:34Speaker 1: So this has been one heck of a week, really
- 24:38Speaker 1: one heck of a two weeks for the Philadelphia Eagles,
- 24:40Speaker 1: and we'll see what Friday holds. We'll see what the
- 24:42Speaker 1: injury report bears out, and I'll have all that for
- 24:45Speaker 1: you on DiCecco Daily, and of course on InsideTheBirds.com. That's
- 24:50Speaker 1: going to do it for this episode of DiCecco Daily.
- 24:53Speaker 1: I'm Andrew DiCecco, and I'll catch you all on the
- 24:56Speaker 1: next one.
