- 0:00I had a student once in New York.
- 0:02A man 43 years old, worked as a bookkeeper for a firm that paid
- 0:06him just enough to keep him grateful and never enough to
- 0:09make him free. He had been at that desk for 11
- 0:12years. He was, by every measure the
- 0:15outer world offered a man who had found his ceiling.
- 0:18He came to my lecture one Thursday evening in the winter
- 0:21of 1955. He sat in the front row, which I
- 0:25noticed because the men who sit in the front row are usually
- 0:29either very skeptical or very desperate.
- 0:32In his case I believe it was both.
- 0:34After the lecture he found me and said, Mr. Goddard, I have
- 0:38tried everything. I have worked harder.
- 0:40I have taken additional qualifications, I have applied
- 0:43for positions that I know I am capable of.
- 0:46Nothing changes. I am beginning to think there is
- 0:49simply a limit to what a man like me can achieve.
- 0:52I looked at him for a moment and I said, a man like you tell me,
- 0:56what exactly do you mean by that?
- 0:58He could not fully answer the question question.
- 1:00He began to describe his circumstances, his background,
- 1:04his history, and I stopped him. I said none of that is what I
- 1:08asked. I asked what you mean by a man
- 1:10like you. Because whatever you mean by
- 1:12that, that is your ceiling and it can change.
- 1:15Tonight, by the end of this hour, I will show you how.
- 1:18Let me tell you what this hour is not.
- 1:21It is not a motivation speech. I'm not going to tell you to
- 1:24work harder, dream bigger, believe in yourself more
- 1:27fervently, or take more action. The world has enough of those
- 1:31teachings, and if they were sufficient, the man I just
- 1:34described would already be free. What I am going to give you
- 1:37instead is an understanding of why the material world responds
- 1:41to wealth or to poverty. Not randomly, not based on
- 1:44effort or merit or moral worth, but based on a single, precise
- 1:49internal cause. The cause is the assumption, and
- 1:52the assumption in the matter of money, is almost always the
- 1:55deepest and most ancient one a person carries.
- 1:58My name is Neville Goddard. I was born in Barbados, came to
- 2:02New York in my youth, spent 30 years teaching a principal.
- 2:06I encountered first in Scripture, and confirmed through
- 2:10decades of direct experience that consciousness is the only
- 2:13reality. That what you deeply and
- 2:16habitually assume must crystallize in the world around
- 2:19you, and that the power to change this is always and only
- 2:22within your own imagination. I am not a financial advisor.
- 2:27I have no investment strategy to offer.
- 2:29What? What I have is something simpler
- 2:31and more powerful than any of that I have the law, the
- 2:35operating principle of consciousness applied
- 2:38specifically to the matter of wealth.
- 2:40And that law, properly understood and consistently
- 2:43applied, will reorganize your material circumstances with a
- 2:47thoroughness that no outer strategy can match.
- 2:50In this hour, we are going to examine precisely what
- 2:53assumption most people carry about money.
- 2:56We are going to see why that assumption persists even in
- 2:59people who consciously want things to be different.
- 3:02And we are going to give you the specific in a practice that
- 3:06changes it. The man from the front row of my
- 3:08Thursday lecture found his ceiling and smashed through it.
- 3:12By the end of this hour, you will understand exactly how he
- 3:15did it. Let us begin with the assumption
- 3:18you currently carry about money. Not the one you state
- 3:21consciously, the one you actually hold.
- 3:24There is, in almost every person who comes to this teaching with
- 3:27a desire for more material abundance, a deep contradiction.
- 3:32On the surface, they want money, They affirm they deserve it.
- 3:35They visualize having it. They feel genuinely entitled to
- 3:39more than they currently have. And below the surface, beneath
- 3:42all of that sincere, effortful wanting, there lives a different
- 3:46assumption. An assumption that feels not
- 3:48like a thought, but like a fact. The assumption that goes money
- 3:52is scarce, there is not enough. People like me don't simply have
- 3:56wealth. We earn it slowly against
- 3:59resistance, and even then it slips away.
- 4:01Or perhaps the assumption is wealth belongs to a category of
- 4:05person that I am not, and no matter how hard I try, some
- 4:09quality in me ensures that the ceiling remains.
- 4:12These assumptions were not chosen, they were formed.
- 4:15They were formed in childhood, watching how money moved or
- 4:18didn't move in the family. They were formed informative
- 4:21experiences of lack in moments when wanting something essential
- 4:25and being told there was not enough carved a groove in the
- 4:28subconscious that has been generating consequences ever
- 4:32since. And here is the important thing.
- 4:35These assumptions are not descriptions of reality.
- 4:38They are crystallizations of old assumptions maintained and
- 4:42confirmed by the law of consciousness, operating
- 4:45faithfully on whatever the habitual in a state presence to
- 4:48it. The law does not care whether
- 4:50the assumption is true or false in any objective sense.
- 4:54It cares only what you hold with feeling, what you inhabit deeply
- 4:58enough to treat as fact, and that is what it crystallizes
- 5:01around you. So when people people ask me why
- 5:04their financial situation does not change despite genuine
- 5:07effort, better skills, harder work, smarter choices, I always
- 5:12ask the same question I asked the bookkeeper.
- 5:15What do you mean by a person like you?
- 5:17Because the ceiling they describe in the outer world is
- 5:20almost always the direct reflection of an assumption held
- 5:23in the inner one. Now I want to tell you something
- 5:26that may be counterintuitive and that is essential to understand
- 5:30before any technique Ioffer will make sense.
- 5:34The outer world does not contain money waiting to be found,
- 5:37competed for, or earned through the right combination of effort
- 5:41and circumstance. The outer world is a mirror.
- 5:44It reflects back what you carry within you.
- 5:47This does not mean you do not take action, you do, but the
- 5:50action, the opportunity, the circumstance through which money
- 5:54flows into your life, these are arranged by consciousness, by
- 5:57the law of assumption, not by the random mechanics of a
- 6:01competitive world. This is that's why two people
- 6:04with identical skills, identical backgrounds, identical
- 6:07opportunities will arrive at dramatically different financial
- 6:11results. Not because one worked harder or
- 6:14was luckier, because one inhabited a different
- 6:17assumption. One carried the felt sense of
- 6:19sufficiency, of things working out, of their particular gifts
- 6:23being valued and sought, and the world arranged to confirm it.
- 6:27The other carried the subtle assumption of the ceiling that
- 6:30people like me don't simply have wealth and the world arranged to
- 6:34confirm that. I'm not blaming anyone for the
- 6:37assumption they carry. The assumption was formed in the
- 6:40only way. Assumptions are formed by
- 6:42experience absorbed without the knowledge of the law.
- 6:46Before you know that consciousness creates reality,
- 6:49you naturally form your assumptions from what reality
- 6:52presents to you. You cannot be blamed for
- 6:54operating according to a law you did not know existed.
- 6:58But now you know it, and knowing it, you can no longer claim that
- 7:01the ceiling is outside yourself. You can no longer say if only
- 7:06the economy were different, if only the opportunity were there,
- 7:09if only I had the right connections or the right start.
- 7:13The ceiling is an assumption, and assumptions change.
- 7:16The most important conversation you will ever have is the one
- 7:20you hold with yourself. And for most people, the most
- 7:23important and most unexamined conversation is the one about
- 7:27money, about what is possible for them, about what they
- 7:30fundamentally are in relation to material abundance.
- 7:34That conversation, held habitually in the inner world,
- 7:37is the cause. The financial situation, in all
- 7:41its apparent solidity and stubbornness, is the effect.
- 7:44Change the cause, and the effect must change, not might.
- 7:47Change must. This is the law.
- 7:50And in the next sections of today's teaching, I'm going to
- 7:53give you the specific practices that change the deep assumption,
- 7:57the conversations about money that run below the surface and
- 8:01begin to crystallize a new in reality, we have established the
- 8:05foundation. The financial ceiling you
- 8:07observe in the outer world is not a fact of your
- 8:10circumstances. It is the crystallization of an
- 8:13assumption held in the inner one.
- 8:15The assumption was formed, not chosen, through experience.
- 8:19And it can be changed not through effort in the outer
- 8:22world, but through the precise inner act of inhabiting a new
- 8:25assumption with genuine feeling. Now I am going to go into the
- 8:29specific mechanics of how the assumption about money is formed
- 8:33and why it is particularly sticky, and then I will give you
- 8:37the exact practices that dissolve it.
- 8:39What I'm about to show you will change the way you understand
- 8:42your entire financial life. Stay present.
- 8:45The assumption about money is particularly sticky for a reason
- 8:49that is worth understanding deeply, because understanding it
- 8:53is part of dissolving it. Money carries more emotional
- 8:56charge than almost any other the desire more than most
- 8:59relationships, more than most career aspirations, more than
- 9:03most health concerns. Because money is, in the modern
- 9:06world, the symbol of security, of freedom, of sufficiency, of
- 9:11the ability to protect yourself and those you love from the
- 9:15worst possibilities. This means that the assumption
- 9:18about money is never just about money.
- 9:21Beneath the assumption about money is always an assumption
- 9:24about safety, about worthiness, about the fundamental question
- 9:28of whether the world is a place in which there is enough for
- 9:32you. And assumptions about safety and
- 9:34worthiness are among the deepest, earliest formed
- 9:37assumptions a human being carries.
- 9:40They were formed, in many cases, before language, before the
- 9:43capacity for conscious reflection.
- 9:46They were formed in the felt experience of early childhood,
- 9:49in the quality of abundance or scarcity, security or precarity
- 9:54that surrounded the small consciousness in its most
- 9:57formative period. This is why intellectual
- 10:00understanding does not change the financial assumption.
- 10:03You can read every book about wealth, understand every
- 10:07principle I teach, affirm every morning that you are abundant
- 10:11and prosperous and the deep assumption can remain unmoved
- 10:15because the deep assumption is not stored as a thought.
- 10:18It is stored as a feeling, a visceral, pre verbal felt sense
- 10:22of what money is and what it means and whether there is
- 10:25enough and whether you are the kind of being who simply has it.
- 10:29To change it, you must work at the same level at which it is
- 10:32stored, which is the level of feeling, of genuine, embodied,
- 10:36inhabited sensation. This is why the technique of the
- 10:39state akin to sleep is so powerful for the specific case
- 10:43of money, because in that threshold state, at the
- 10:46borderline between waking and sleep, you have access to the
- 10:50subconscious in a way that bypasses the intellectual layer
- 10:53entirely. The conscious mind with its
- 10:56objections and doubts and evidence from the outer world is
- 11:00relaxed, and what you impress upon the subconscious in that
- 11:03state goes directly into the layer where the assumption
- 11:07lives. Now let me give you the specific
- 11:09scene for the money assumption. Most people, when they attempt
- 11:13to use the imaginal act for wealth, make a critical mistake.
- 11:16They imagine a number, a bank balance, a specific large
- 11:21amount, and they feel excitement.
- 11:23The excitement of imagining something they do not have.
- 11:26As I have told you before, excitement is the signature
- 11:29feeling of the thing being outside, being future, being not
- 11:33yet here. It is the wrong feeling, the
- 11:36right feeling for the wealth assumption.
- 11:38Is this the feeling of money being normal?
- 11:41I want you to think about what it actually feels like to have
- 11:44enough money. Not a fortune.
- 11:46Enough. Enough that money is not the
- 11:48primary variable in any decision you make.
- 11:51Enough that when a bill arrives, you pay it without a spike of
- 11:54anxiety. Enough that when you want to
- 11:56give something to someone you you love, you give it without
- 11:59the inner calculation of what you cannot then afford.
- 12:03The quality of that, the actual felt quality of money being a
- 12:06non issue, is the feeling you must inhabit in your imaginal
- 12:10act, not the excitement of southern wealth.
- 12:13The ease of sufficient, normal, established sufficiency.
- 12:17This is the state from which wealth grows, because the ease
- 12:21of sufficiency is not the state of someone who is just beginning
- 12:24to have money. It is the state of someone for
- 12:27whom having money is simply their life.
- 12:30And the law will crystallize around that state, the material
- 12:33reality that corresponds to it. Now I want to address something
- 12:36specific about how people who grew up in genuine scarcity,
- 12:40real scarcity, not imagined, need to approach this practice.
- 12:45If your earliest experience of money was truly difficult, if
- 12:49the anxiety about it was real and pressing and formative, then
- 12:53the felt sense of ease around money may feel not just
- 12:56unfamiliar but uncertainty safe. There may be a part of you that
- 13:00holds very deep down that allowing yourself to feel at
- 13:03ease about money is tempting fate, that vigilance and worry
- 13:07are somehow protective. I want to be direct with you
- 13:10about this. The vigilance is not protective.
- 13:13The worry does not prevent bad outcomes.
- 13:16It crystallizes them. The anxiety about money is not a
- 13:19safeguard. It is the very assumption that
- 13:22maintains the condition you are anxious about.
- 13:25The practice of ease is not recklessness.
- 13:28It is not ignoring legitimate responsibilities.
- 13:31It is the deliberate inhabiting of the state from which genuine
- 13:34material stability flows. You are not pretending there are
- 13:38no bills. You are practicing the felt
- 13:40sense of being the kind of person who pays bills easily,
- 13:44because that felt sense will crystallize a world in which you
- 13:47are. There is a phrase I used many
- 13:50times in my lectures. I said there to assume the
- 13:53feeling of the wish fulfilled. The word there is important.
- 13:57For many people, feeling at ease about money genuinely does
- 14:01require courage, The courage to release an old assumption, even
- 14:05a painful one, because it is the only assumption they have ever
- 14:09known. There, then there to feel the
- 14:11ease of sufficiency there to inhabit for the minutes of your
- 14:15imaginal act each night the felt quality of a person for whom
- 14:18money moves easily, abundantly, and as a matter of course.
- 14:23The law will do the rest. We have seen why the money
- 14:25assumption is particularly sticky, because beneath it lies
- 14:29the assumption about safety, worthiness, and sufficiency that
- 14:33was formed before language, before reflection, before you
- 14:37knew the law existed. We have seen that the imaginal
- 14:40act for wealth must target not the excitement of Southern
- 14:43riches, but the ease of normal, established sufficiency.
- 14:47And we have seen that for those who grew up in genuine scarcity,
- 14:51daring to feel that ease requires a specific kind of
- 14:54courage. Now in Part 2, I'm going to take
- 14:57you into the deep, deeper layer of the wealth assumption, the
- 15:00one that is rarely spoken of, and give you the complete set of
- 15:03practices for dissolving it. Stay with me.
- 15:07There is a teaching within the teaching of wealth that I want
- 15:09to give you now, something that the surface level approach to
- 15:13financial crystallization almost always misses it is this.
- 15:17The assumption about money is always also an assumption about
- 15:21deserving. Most people who struggle
- 15:24materially do not, at the deepest level, believe they
- 15:27deserve to be healthy, not because they are bad people.
- 15:30The opposite is often true. Some of the most generous,
- 15:33conscientious, morally serious people I have ever met have
- 15:37carried the deepest assumptions of unworthiness around money.
- 15:41The reason often is that they have absorbed a teaching,
- 15:44cultural, religious, familial that associates wealth with a
- 15:49kind of moral deficiency. The idea that spiritual people
- 15:53are not meant to be rich, that desiring money is at some level
- 15:57embarrassing or shallow, that those who have a great deal of
- 16:00money must have obtained it at someone else's expense.
- 16:04These ideas exist in every culture, in different forms, and
- 16:08for people who have absorbed them, the desire for wealth
- 16:11creates an internal conflict that the law can only resolve
- 16:14one way, by maintaining the condition of not having it,
- 16:18because having it would violate the deep assumption that good
- 16:21people don't. If any of this resonates, if
- 16:24there is any part of you that when you imagine yourself truly
- 16:28wealthy, feels a subtle discomfort, a sense of that's
- 16:31not really me or I would not want to become that kind of
- 16:35person. I want to address it directly.
- 16:38Wealth is not a moral quality. It is a material condition, and
- 16:42it responds to the law of consciousness with the same
- 16:45impartiality as any other condition.
- 16:48Wealthy people are not morally superior to poor people.
- 16:52Poor people are not morally superior to wealthy people.
- 16:55Wealth reflects an assumption. The assumption reflects the law.
- 16:59The law is neutral. The consciousness of abundance
- 17:02does not belong to a particular type of person.
- 17:06It is available to everyone because the law that creates
- 17:09wealth is identical to the law that creates any other
- 17:12crystallization of assumption. It is available to you right
- 17:16now, tonight. It does not require you to be a
- 17:19different kind of person. It requires you to inhabit a
- 17:22different kind of state, and inhabiting a different state
- 17:25does not compromise your values, your general generosity, your
- 17:29care for others. In my experience, it deepens
- 17:32those qualities because fear and scarcity produce contraction.
- 17:36They make the world feel smaller, more competitive, more
- 17:400 sum. Genuine abundance, genuine ease
- 17:43around sufficiency produces expansion.
- 17:46It makes generosity easy because there is always enough.
- 17:50It makes care for others natural because you are not operating
- 17:53from depletion. The consciousness of wealth is
- 17:56not the enemy of your better nature.
- 17:59It is the condition from which your better nature can express
- 18:02most fully. So release the conflict if you
- 18:04carry it. Release the idea that wanting
- 18:07financial abundance makes you less spiritual, less genuine,
- 18:11less morally serious. To replace it with this, I was
- 18:15made to have abundance. The creative power of
- 18:17consciousness that underlies all of reality is the same power
- 18:21that operates through me, and it is not a power that knows
- 18:25scarcity. Scarcity is a condition produced
- 18:28by the assumption of scarcity. The source itself is without
- 18:31limit. Now I want to go into the
- 18:33specific practice for dissolving the deep wealth assumption
- 18:37because I have given you the understanding which is necessary
- 18:40and now the practice must follow.
- 18:43The practice has three components that work together.
- 18:46The 1st is what I call the wealth state session.
- 18:49This is distinct from imagining a specific outcome.
- 18:52Each morning for 10 minutes. You do not imagine a bank
- 18:55account or a check or a business success.
- 18:59You inhabit the state, the felt quality of being someone for
- 19:02whom wealth is simply normal. You close your eyes, steal the
- 19:06body, and ask yourself, what does it feel like to be this
- 19:09person, the person for whom money is easy, for whom the
- 19:13bills are a formality, not an anxiety, for whom giving is a
- 19:16pleasure, not a calculation. Find that quality, not the
- 19:20words, the feeling. Let it permeate your awareness
- 19:23for 10 minutes. Then open your eyes and carry as
- 19:27much of it as you can into the day that follows.
- 19:30The second component is the before sleep imaginal act,
- 19:34separate from the morning practice.
- 19:36This one is a scene, one specific sensory scene that
- 19:39could only exist if your desired financial state were already
- 19:43your reality, not a number. A moment.
- 19:46Paying for something you previously could not afford with
- 19:49ease and without calculation. Writing a check for a 'cause you
- 19:53believe in feeling the pleasure of giving rather than the
- 19:57anxiety of cost. Looking at a figure on a page
- 20:00with the. The same mild, unremarkable
- 20:02feeling that you look at the time, inhabit the scene in the
- 20:05state akin to sleep. Feel it from the inside.
- 20:09Let it be normal. Repeat it gently until you drift
- 20:12into sleep within it. The third component is what I
- 20:15call assumption hygiene. Throughout the day, notice the
- 20:18conversations you have with yourself about money.
- 20:21Not the overt ones, those are easy to catch.
- 20:25The subtle ones, the automatic calculation that runs when you
- 20:28see something you want, The body response when the topic of money
- 20:32arises in a conversation. The habitual inner narrative
- 20:36about what is and is not available to you.
- 20:39When you notice these, do not fight them.
- 20:41Simply observe them and substitute return for 30 seconds
- 20:46to the felt quality of the wealth state.
- 20:48The ease, the normalcy, the simple established fact of
- 20:52sufficiency, this substitution done consistently throughout the
- 20:56day, is what changes the habitual assumption at the speed
- 21:00I described earlier. Because every moment of genuine
- 21:03inhabiting is a moment of planting, and every moment of
- 21:07the old assumption is a moment of not planting the new one.
- 21:10The ratio determines the pace of change.
- 21:13Now let me tell you what happened with the man from the
- 21:16front row. He did not change his job
- 21:18immediately. He did not suddenly receive a
- 21:21windfall. What changed first was the inner
- 21:24conversation. He told me, weeks into the
- 21:27practice that he had noticed something.
- 21:29He had stopped calculating. Not deliberately.
- 21:32Simply the automatic inner calculation that ran every time
- 21:35money was at stake had gone quiet.
- 21:38The ease was seeping in. Within three months, an
- 21:41opportunity appeared at his firm, a new position created
- 21:45specifically because someone in leadership had noticed qualities
- 21:49in him that had apparently always been there but had
- 21:52somehow not registered before. He was offered a salary that was
- 21:55nearly double what he had been earning.
- 21:57He called it luck. I told him it was law.
- 22:00Nothing about his skills had changed.
- 22:02His experience had not changed. The outer world had not changed.
- 22:06What had changed was the assumption, and the assumption,
- 22:10having changed, rearranged the outer world to conform to it.
- 22:14The people around him who are, as I have always taught,
- 22:17extensions of his own consciousness, began to see him
- 22:21differently because he was now inhabited, did differently
- 22:24because the eye and he clothed himself in each morning was a
- 22:27different 1. Persist in your assumption and
- 22:30the world must rearrange itself to conform.
- 22:33This is not poetic encouragement.
- 22:36It is a precise description of how the law of consciousness
- 22:39operates. We have covered the complete
- 22:41framework, the deep wealth assumption and why it is sticky,
- 22:45the assumption of deserving that underlies it and must be
- 22:48addressed. The three component practice,
- 22:51the morning wealth state, the before sleep imaginal scene, and
- 22:54the assumption hygiene throughout the day.
- 22:57We have seen in the story of the man from the front row how the
- 23:00law works in practice, not through dramatic outer events,
- 23:04but through the gradual quiet crystallization of a new
- 23:07assumption into a new material reality.
- 23:10Now the visualization, then the advanced teaching, and then the
- 23:14clothes stay present. The most important instruction
- 23:18comes last. The practical framework I want
- 23:20you to leave with today is concrete enough to begin to
- 23:23tonight, and flexible enough to adapt as your practice deepens.
- 23:27The first priority is the morning wealth State 10 minutes
- 23:31before the world begins, before you look at your phone, before
- 23:35the tasks of the day have colonized your attention.
- 23:38In those 10 minutes, close your eyes and do only one thing.
- 23:42Inhabit the felt quality of wealth as your normal state.
- 23:45Not a number, not a specific outcome.
- 23:48The quality, the ease, the spaciousness of someone for whom
- 23:52money is not the question in every equation.
- 23:54You may find this difficult at first.
- 23:57The mind will want to present evidence for why this is not
- 24:00true, the bills, the balance, the specific anxieties of your
- 24:04particular situation. Do not argue with this.
- 24:08Simply keep returning gently, the way you would redirect a
- 24:11child who keeps wandering off the path to the felt quality of
- 24:15the state. Each morning you do this you are
- 24:17depositing into a new account, not a financial one, an imaginal
- 24:22one, the account of of the new assumption, and over days and
- 24:25weeks it accumulates until the new assumption begins to have
- 24:29more weight behind it than the old one.
- 24:32The second practice is the before sleep scene, specific
- 24:35rather than general, one small quiet sensory moment that
- 24:40implies your desired financial state.
- 24:42I recommend rotating through two or three different scenes over
- 24:46time, not because variety is required, 1 scene used
- 24:49consistently will work, but because rotating helps you
- 24:53identify which scene carries the strongest feeling for you, and
- 24:56feeling is the engine of crystallization.
- 25:00The third practice, assumption hygiene, is the one that
- 25:03determines whether the 1st 2 hold their gains or lose them
- 25:06each day. Here is what I mean.
- 25:09You begin each morning with 10 minutes of the wealth state.
- 25:12You end each night with a before sleep imaginal act.
- 25:16But between those two practices, there are 16 hours in which the
- 25:20old assumption has many opportunities to assert itself.
- 25:24Every time you experience a financial friction, a bill, a
- 25:27price, a calculation, the old assumption sends a brief
- 25:31broadcast. This is how it is for you, and
- 25:34if you receive that broadcast without substituting the new
- 25:37assumption, you have effectively undone some of what the morning
- 25:41and evening practice built. Assumption hygiene is the
- 25:44practice of catching those broadcasts and replacing them
- 25:47not with denial, but with the felt quality of the new state.
- 25:51A brief return for 30 seconds to the ease of the wealth
- 25:55assumption, the settled sense that this is a passing detail in
- 25:59a life of abundance. There is a specific question I
- 26:02want to address here because it arises in nearly every serious
- 26:06student of this teaching when they apply it to money.
- 26:09The question is, should I take action while I am practicing the
- 26:13imaginal acts and the wealth state?
- 26:15Should I also be pursuing opportunities?
- 26:17Yes, of course, but with a specific attitude.
- 26:21The action is not the cause. The action is the channel.
- 26:25The cause is the assumption, and the assumption, when it
- 26:28genuinely changes, will organize the action in ways you cannot
- 26:32predict in advance. It will direct your attention to
- 26:35opportunities you are not looking for.
- 26:38It will make certain actions effortless and certain others
- 26:41unnecessary. It will connect you to the right
- 26:44people at the right moment through a chain of circumstance
- 26:47that will look from the outside like coincidence or luck.
- 26:51So take action, but take it from the state of the wealth
- 26:54assumption rather than the state of the scarcity assumption.
- 26:58Take it with the ease and the confidence of someone who knows
- 27:02that what they are moving toward is already theirs in
- 27:05consciousness, that the outer world is simply in the process
- 27:09of catching up. This attitude, the assumption of
- 27:12the thing already done, expressed in action, is
- 27:15completely different from the strained, desperate action of
- 27:19someone trying to force an outcome from a state of fear and
- 27:22lack. Both people may appear from the
- 27:25outside to be doing similar things, but the assumption
- 27:28behind the action is the determining factor, and the law
- 27:32will crystallize accordingly. Persist in your assumption even
- 27:36when the outer world continues to report the old condition,
- 27:40even when the bank balance has not yet moved, even when the
- 27:43circumstances have not yet shifted.
- 27:45The inner work is real, the law is operative, the
- 27:49crystallization is in process. Man's imagination is the only
- 27:53redemptive power in the world, and in the matter of money,
- 27:57which so many people treat as the one thing imagination cannot
- 28:00touch, this is precisely true. The imagination inhabited with
- 28:05the right feeling, in the right state, consistently and
- 28:08faithfully will reorganize the material world.
- 28:12I have seen it too many times to have any doubt about this.
- 28:15The law does not have exceptions.
- 28:17It has only faithful application or incomplete application.
- 28:21Apply it faithfully tonight. close your eyes, let the body
- 28:25settle completely, Feel the weight of it resting.
- 28:28Let the hands open, the shoulders drop, the jaw
- 28:32unclench. Take one slow breath, let it
- 28:35release fully. Now I want you to bring to mind
- 28:37the feeling. Not a thought, not an image, but
- 28:40a feeling of being at ease. Simply at ease.
- 28:43Nothing pressing, nothing anxious, The particular ease of
- 28:46someone who has enough. Let that quality begin to arise
- 28:50in the body. Perhaps it is a warmth in the
- 28:52chest. Perhaps a the kind of
- 28:53spaciousness in the shoulders, perhaps a particular quality of
- 28:57the breath, slower, fuller, less guarded.
- 29:00Let it come. Do not force it, Simply make
- 29:03room for it. Now let that ease specifically
- 29:05color the way you think about money.
- 29:07Not a balance sheet, not a number.
- 29:10Simply, money is fine. Money is normal.
- 29:13Money moves easily. In my life, there is enough.
- 29:16There has always been enough. There will always be enough.
- 29:19Let that not be a thing you say. Let it be a thing you feel in
- 29:22the body. Let it settle in as fact.
- 29:25Now bring to mind the specific scene you have chosen, the one
- 29:28quiet, ordinary moment that implies your desired financial
- 29:32state. Perhaps you are paying for
- 29:33something with ease, with pleasure, without calculation.
- 29:37Perhaps you are in a space that speaks of abundance,
- 29:40comfortable, well appointed, simply and naturally yours.
- 29:44Enter the scene from the inside, not watching from outside.
- 29:48You are there. What are your hands doing?
- 29:50What is the quality of the light?
- 29:52What is the particular, small, all sound of the moment?
- 29:54Feel the ease of it. This is your life.
- 29:57This is simply how it is. There is no anxiety in this
- 30:01moment, no calculation, no question about whether there is
- 30:05enough. There is simply the quiet,
- 30:07ordinary, established fact of abundance.
- 30:10Breathe slowly. Let the scene become real around
- 30:13you, the way familiar rooms are real.
- 30:15You stop noticing the details because they are simply home.
- 30:19Stay here. This is your life now, not in
- 30:21the future, now in consciousness and what consciousness holds.
- 30:26The law crystallizes. Let the feeling of normal,
- 30:29established, natural abundance settle into you deeply into the
- 30:33layer beneath thought, into the place where the assumption
- 30:36lives. This is the wealth state.
- 30:38This is the feeling you are planting.
- 30:40Breathe. When thoughts arise, return
- 30:42gently to the feeling, not the scene, the feeling, the ease,
- 30:46the normalcy, the doneness. Stay as long as this feels true.
- 30:51When you are ready, open your eyes.
- 30:53But carry the ease with you. Let it be the quality from which
- 30:56you move through the rest of your day and into tonight.
- 30:59This is the practice. This is the law at work.
- 31:03I want to share something with you now that goes beyond the
- 31:06standard application of what I have taught today, something for
- 31:09those of you who are ready to take this further.
- 31:12The ordinary teaching about money and the law of assumption
- 31:15says change your assumption about having money and you will
- 31:19have more money. This is true.
- 31:21This is the law operating at the level most people access.
- 31:25But there is a deeper layer. The deeper layer is this.
- 31:28The assumption about money is always at its root, an
- 31:31assumption about your relationship to the infinite, to
- 31:35the source of all supply, to the creative power of consciousness
- 31:39itself. When a person holds the
- 31:41assumption of scarcity, they are at the deepest level, assuming
- 31:45that the source from which their supply comes is limited, that
- 31:48there is only so much, that what goes to one person cannot also
- 31:53go to an another, that the abundance they want is finite
- 31:56and must be competed for. This assumption, the assumption
- 32:00of a limited source is the route.
- 32:02The specific money beliefs are only the branches.
- 32:05The most powerful imaginal work for wealth, then, is not the
- 32:09imagination of abundance at the level of outcomes.
- 32:12It is the imagination, the felt inhabiting of your relationship
- 32:16to the infinite as one of unrestricted access.
- 32:20I am the consciousness that underlies all of reality, and
- 32:23the consciousness that underlies all of reality knows no
- 32:27scarcity. It does not have a limited
- 32:29supply. What you call money is one form
- 32:32of the energy of creation moving through the channels available
- 32:36to it, and the channels available to it expand or
- 32:39contract in precise accordance with the assumption held by the
- 32:42consciousness through which they flow.
- 32:44When you inhabit the I am the bare pure awareness that is your
- 32:48deepest identity, and you hold that awareness as one of
- 32:51absolute alignment with definite supply, something shifts in the
- 32:55money assumption that no specific scene or affirmation
- 32:59can quite reach because you are working at the root, not the
- 33:02branch. The practice for this advanced
- 33:05work is simple but requires depth in your morning wealth
- 33:08state. After you have inhabited the
- 33:10feeling of ease and sufficiency, spend the last two minutes going
- 33:14deeper. Let the specific financial ease
- 33:17fall away and simply inhabit the felt sense of being, the
- 33:20consciousness that is always connected to supply, not wealthy
- 33:25in a material sense, connected, aligned, a channel through which
- 33:30abundance flows always a naturally because the channel is
- 33:33aligned with the source. Feel the quality of that.
- 33:36It is not the same as imagining money.
- 33:39It is quieter, more fundamental, less specific and more powerful.
- 33:44From this place. Material wealth is not something
- 33:46you pursue, it is something that flows because what you are
- 33:50aligned with, the creative power of consciousness, is the source
- 33:54of all supply in all forms, and when you are genuinely feelingly
- 33:58aligned with it, the forms it takes in your life will include
- 34:02the material abundance you desire.
- 34:04This is the edge of what most people reach, the advanced
- 34:08territory. Most people do not reach it
- 34:11because they are too focused on the specific outcome to go into
- 34:14the deeper alignment that makes the specific outcome inevitable.
- 34:18Go deeper. Behind the money belief is the
- 34:21source belief change. The source belief inhabit the
- 34:24felt sense of being a consciousness aligned with
- 34:27infinite supply, and the money belief changes automatically
- 34:31because the branch cannot survive if the route has
- 34:34changed. This is the teaching beneath the
- 34:37teaching, and it is yours now. I told you at the beginning
- 34:40about the bookkeeper, 43 years old, eleven years at the same
- 34:45desk, a ceiling that felt to him as fixed as the ceiling of the
- 34:49building he worked in. When I asked him what he meant
- 34:52by a man like me, he could not at first answer and I told him
- 34:56whatever you mean by that is your ceiling and it can change.
- 35:00Tonight what changed for him was not his skills or his
- 35:03connections or the policies of his employer.
- 35:06What changed was the assumption, the felt sense of what was
- 35:10possible for a man like him, the inhabited quality of what his
- 35:13life contained and could contain.
- 35:16And when that changed, when the morning practice and the before
- 35:19sleep imaginal act and the daily assumption hygiene began to
- 35:23genuinely shift, the habitual I am, He carried the outer world
- 35:28rearranged. People who had always been there
- 35:30began to see him differently. An opportunity that could have
- 35:33existed much earlier finally became visible to those who
- 35:37needed to see it because they were now looking at someone who
- 35:40inhabited abundance rather than limitation.
- 35:44The law is faithful. It does not play favorites.
- 35:47It does not hold grudges. It responds to what you present
- 35:50to it in consciousness with the same precision with which a
- 35:54mirror responds to what you hold before it.
- 35:56You have a ceiling. Perhaps you have felt it.
- 35:59Perhaps you have been pressing against it for years, wondering
- 36:02why effort and intention and even some previous application
- 36:06of these teachings has not dissolved it.
- 36:08The ceiling is an assumption. The assumption is in
- 36:12consciousness. Unconsciousness is the only
- 36:14reality. Change what is in consciousness,
- 36:17not the surface, the habitual deep felt assumption.
- 36:21Change it through practice, consistent, faithful, patient
- 36:25practice, and watch as the only ceiling that ever existed, the
- 36:29one within you, simply ceases to be there.
- 36:31Begin tonight, not with the ambitious scene of the fortune
- 36:35you desire. Begin with the ease, the simple,
- 36:38quiet, settled feeling of sufficiency of money being
- 36:41normal in your life, of the bills being paid and the
- 36:44breathing being easy and the future being open.
- 36:48Lie down. Enter the threshold of sleep.
- 36:50Inhabit that ease, and in the morning, 10 minutes before the
- 36:54world begins, the wealth state, the felt quality of normal,
- 36:58established natural abundance. Do these two things for 30 days,
- 37:0330 days of consistent, faithful practice, and then look at your
- 37:07outer world and tell me what you find.
- 37:09I say this not as a promise, but as an invitation.
- 37:13An invitation to test the law for yourself, as I have always
- 37:16invited people to do, not to believe me on faith, to try it,
- 37:21to inhabit the assumption genuinely and observe what the
- 37:24law does with it. The law does not fail.
- 37:27The practice fails sometimes when the feeling is not genuine,
- 37:31when the assumption is not truly inhabited.
- 37:34But the law itself does not fail.
- 37:36You are imagination, and imagination creates reality.
- 37:40In the matter of money, as in all other matters.
- 37:43Dare to assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled tonight and
- 37:47every night that follows. Come back when you are ready.
- 37:50There is always more here waiting for you, yeah.
