- 0:01Speaker 1: Now on the Voice of New York Kate still Mark
- 0:04Speaker 1: Simone Show on seven to ten.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Woor Hey, lots to get through today. We'll get to
- 0:15Speaker 2: the President's amazing press briefing yesterday. The rescue operation he
- 0:21Speaker 2: went into detail was so powerful and moving describing that
- 0:24Speaker 2: rescue operation. For those of you to watch the NBC
- 0:26Speaker 2: Nightly News, I'm just telling you about this because if
- 0:29Speaker 2: you watch the NBC Nightly News, you wouldn't have known
- 0:31Speaker 2: about it. They didn't they didn't feel it was worth covering.
- 0:34Speaker 2: We'll get to that. We'll get to Stephen Colbert, he's gone,
- 0:37Speaker 2: he's fired, he's out. We'll get to what the replacement
- 0:40Speaker 2: will be. We'll get to Savannah Guthrie and there's more
- 0:44Speaker 2: on the Mother and we'll get to Mom Donnie. We'll
- 0:46Speaker 2: get to the Cross Bronx, We'll get to Artemis and
- 0:51Speaker 2: all of that just ahead. President tonight at eight o'clock
- 0:56Speaker 2: says that's the deadline. If Iran doesn't agree to every
- 1:01Speaker 2: he will start taking out all the bridges and power plants.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Now we're getting a report, not absolutely confirmed, but we
- 1:07Speaker 2: are getting a report that Iran at the moment has
- 1:10Speaker 2: cut off all talks. We talked through third parties. But
- 1:13Speaker 2: we'll see what happens now. Also, earlier this morning, the
- 1:17Speaker 2: US did attack carg Island, crucial piece of real estate there.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Carg Island is the hub of all of the Iranian
- 1:25Speaker 2: oil industry. It's their main oil depot. For them to
- 1:28Speaker 2: be in the oil business, sell oil, it has to
- 1:31Speaker 2: take place on carg Island. Now, we hit it this
- 1:34Speaker 2: morning with about fifty strikes, but we didn't touch the oil,
- 1:38Speaker 2: that sort of infrastructure. All we hit were the military
- 1:41Speaker 2: things on carg Island. We took out the air defense,
- 1:44Speaker 2: we took out all the defense systems, we took out
- 1:47Speaker 2: the bunkers, we took out all the military operations there.
- 1:52Speaker 2: This could just be symbolic, or it could be preparation
- 1:55Speaker 2: for taking over carg Island, getting rid of all defense
- 1:58Speaker 2: and military stuff on the island. So eight o'clock tonight,
- 2:02Speaker 2: we'll see what happens. The President threatening to take out
- 2:06Speaker 2: all the bridges, power plants. Now, if you're we just
- 2:09Speaker 2: have to as a public service do this. If you're
- 2:12Speaker 2: an MS NOW viewer or a CNN viewer, you have
- 2:14Speaker 2: no idea what's going on. You're being told this would
- 2:17Speaker 2: be a war crime to hit bridges, and it's the
- 2:19Speaker 2: worst war crime. This is an absolute war crime. This
- 2:22Speaker 2: is absolutely not a war crime. If you talk to
- 2:25Speaker 2: any expert, on real expert, not an MSNBC one, but
- 2:29Speaker 2: a real legal expert, it's not a war crime. It's
- 2:32Speaker 2: done all the time in every war. Bridges and power
- 2:35Speaker 2: plants are a very common target in war. We do
- 2:39Speaker 2: it all the time. We've done it that We've taken
- 2:41Speaker 2: out entire cities. World War two, we took out Dresden,
- 2:45Speaker 2: firebomb the whole city. Hirotima is a good example. These
- 2:49Speaker 2: are not war crimes. You can do this in war.
- 2:53Speaker 2: So we'll see what happens at eight o'clock tonight. Now,
- 2:57Speaker 2: you know, he is flexible as president. It could be
- 3:01Speaker 2: another extension. He likes these extensions. But we'll see what happens.
- 3:05Speaker 2: The briefing yesterday was pretty powerful describing exactly how this
- 3:10Speaker 2: guy was rescued. It was an incredible operation. You know,
- 3:14Speaker 2: they spent about three hundred and fifty million dollars to
- 3:18Speaker 2: get this guy back, and a lot of presidents wouldn't
- 3:21Speaker 2: do anything like that. Remember Clinton leaving Americans and Somalia,
- 3:26Speaker 2: Obama leaving troops in Libya, Biden leaving people in Afghanistan.
- 3:31Speaker 2: It's happened a lot, and apparently, as Trump confirmed, a
- 3:36Speaker 2: lot of the military did not want to do the
- 3:38Speaker 2: rescue operation. Not that they wouldn't like to rescue the guy,
- 3:41Speaker 2: they just thought it was too risky. You'd be putting
- 3:44Speaker 2: hundreds of lives at risk because it took hundreds of
- 3:47Speaker 2: people to go in there and get the guy back.
- 3:49Speaker 2: So a lot of the military argued against it, a
- 3:53Speaker 2: lot of them Hexith and General Kin, they were fully
- 3:57Speaker 2: on board with it, but it was the President who
- 4:01Speaker 2: micro managed the thing, stayed on top of it. That's
- 4:03Speaker 2: why he canceled his weekend trip to Palm Beach and
- 4:07Speaker 2: decided it had to be done, whatever the cost. And
- 4:11Speaker 2: it took. Now listen to this, one hundred and fifty
- 4:13Speaker 2: five military aircraft were on that rescue. One hundred and
- 4:17Speaker 2: fifty five aircraft, including four bombers, sixty four fighters, forty
- 4:23Speaker 2: eight refueling tankers, thirteen rescue aircraft. A lot of it
- 4:27Speaker 2: was a subterfuge. One of the reasons they did this.
- 4:30Speaker 2: A lot of these aircraft went to other locations just
- 4:33Speaker 2: to confuse the Iranians about where the airman was and
- 4:38Speaker 2: where the rescue was, and it was really tough. They
- 4:41Speaker 2: had to fly very very very low on some of this.
- 4:45Speaker 2: As President Trump pointed out, we've got helicopters with bullet
- 4:48Speaker 2: holes in him. It was about a three hundred and
- 4:50Speaker 2: fifty million dollar rescue. When they say boots on the ground,
- 4:54Speaker 2: We've already had boots on the ground, and I ran twice.
- 4:57Speaker 2: We did it for the first pilot that was rescued
- 4:59Speaker 2: a few days ago, and we did it again this weekend.
- 5:02Speaker 2: There were about one hundred commandos on the ground and
- 5:05Speaker 2: they had to scale that mountain seven thousand feet. The
- 5:09Speaker 2: pilot badly wounded. First had to take care of his wounds.
- 5:13Speaker 2: This is all in the training, how to dress your wounds,
- 5:16Speaker 2: and then how to mountain climb. He had to climb
- 5:20Speaker 2: seven thousand feet, find a crevice a cave to hide in,
- 5:24Speaker 2: which he did. And then they knew his location because
- 5:28Speaker 2: he kept sending out a beacon, which is very accurate,
- 5:31Speaker 2: like right down to the inch where he is. When
- 5:33Speaker 2: they tried to land all these heavy aircraft, they were
- 5:35Speaker 2: landing on at times very wet sand and they were
- 5:38Speaker 2: sinking into the sand. Very very difficult to operation, but
- 5:43Speaker 2: a lot of boots on the ground. They got it done,
- 5:46Speaker 2: They got him out of there. It was an amazing thing.
- 5:49Speaker 2: The press conference was so moving and so powerful that
- 5:52Speaker 2: a lot of the network news made sure not to
- 5:54Speaker 2: show it, not to let anybody see it, not to
- 5:58Speaker 2: let anybody know about it. Think about what happened. The
- 6:01Speaker 2: guy is shot down on a Friday, on Good Friday,
- 6:03Speaker 2: shot down hiding in a cave, and rescued on Easter Sunday,
- 6:09Speaker 2: flown out as the sun was rising on Easter Sunday.
- 6:12Speaker 2: An amazing thing. You know, this would be an incredible movie.
- 6:16Speaker 2: This is the kind of story. Every producer in hollywould
- 6:20Speaker 2: be going nuts with the check book trying to buy
- 6:23Speaker 2: the rights to this. But because Trump is a hero
- 6:26Speaker 2: in this, because it was Trump, no movie. There'll be
- 6:31Speaker 2: no movie about this. There'll be no books about it,
- 6:33Speaker 2: There'll be no movie about it. If it were Obama's president,
- 6:37Speaker 2: there'd be seventeen movies on the drawing boards, forty two
- 6:40Speaker 2: books would be in the works. Now, nobody was killed
- 6:43Speaker 2: in this operation. You gotta remember there's an important statistic.
- 6:46Speaker 2: More people have been killed in Chicago in the last
- 6:48Speaker 2: five weeks that we've had this war. More people have
- 6:51Speaker 2: been killed in Chicago with the gunfire all over the streets.
- 6:54Speaker 2: More people have been killed in Chicago than in our
- 6:58Speaker 2: war and Iran. In fact, how many soldiers were losing
- 7:01Speaker 2: the last week is zero. How many people were killed
- 7:03Speaker 2: in Chicago in the last week. I think it's eleven
- 7:05Speaker 2: were shot. It's not even close. So we'll see what
- 7:10Speaker 2: happens later. President yesterday was no, here's another thing they're after.
- 7:16Speaker 2: We put out this false story through the CIA. It
- 7:18Speaker 2: leaked it out through all kinds of sources that would
- 7:21Speaker 2: get back to Iran. This is when the pilot was
- 7:24Speaker 2: still missing. We leaked out that we've got him, that
- 7:27Speaker 2: he's been rescued, and we were taking him out in
- 7:30Speaker 2: an amphibious operation at the sea that was to throw
- 7:33Speaker 2: off the enemy. Well, somebody in the Pentagon started leaking
- 7:36Speaker 2: out that it's not true that the pilot was still missing.
- 7:40Speaker 2: He was still hidden somewhere in Iran. Whoever, the leaker
- 7:44Speaker 2: has put everybody in danger, and President Trump says they're
- 7:48Speaker 2: hunting for this leaker. They will find this leaker. Somebody
- 7:51Speaker 2: in the government leaked it to the Washington Post, to CBS,
- 7:55Speaker 2: to Reuters, and the presidents as they'll track him down.
- 7:58Speaker 3: We have to find that leaker, because that's a sick person.
- 8:01Speaker 3: Probably didn't realize the extent of how bad it was.
- 8:04Speaker 3: I can't imagine that the person did. But we're going
- 8:07Speaker 3: to find out. It's national security and the person that
- 8:11Speaker 3: did the story will go to jail if he doesn't
- 8:14Speaker 3: say and that doesn't last long. And I think everybody
- 8:17Speaker 3: would understand that they put this mission at great risk.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Yeah, now you got to reveal the source, now that
- 8:22Speaker 2: this happened before where they threatened to put you in
- 8:25Speaker 2: jail if you don't reveal, you know, the press, they
- 8:27Speaker 2: never want to reveal their source. You're never supposed to
- 8:29Speaker 2: do that. But this is different. This is serious, serious,
- 8:32Speaker 2: serious national security. So they won't fool around with us.
- 8:35Speaker 2: They'll put the person in jail. It's happened. Remember the great,
- 8:38Speaker 2: great journalist Judith Miller went to jail over that. Remember
- 8:43Speaker 2: Mary Tyler Moore in one episode went to jail over
- 8:45Speaker 2: not really leaker. But so somebody from CBS or the
- 8:50Speaker 2: Washington Post or somewhere will end up going to jail
- 8:53Speaker 2: over this. Hey, a good news is this is very
- 8:56Speaker 2: good news. They say there's no good news anymore. Well,
- 8:59Speaker 2: here's some Stephen Colbert has been fired. He'll be thrown
- 9:02Speaker 2: off the air May twenty first. That'll be the last
- 9:05Speaker 2: time you'll ever see this guy on network television. Now,
- 9:08Speaker 2: what's going to replace Colbert? Well, it's going to be
- 9:12Speaker 2: Byron Allen, the comedian. Byron Allen, over the last couple
- 9:16Speaker 2: of decades, built a television empire, became a billionaire by
- 9:22Speaker 2: I sometimes you've seen these shows through the years, these
- 9:24Speaker 2: comedian shows with Byron Allen. What's part of a massive
- 9:27Speaker 2: production company. He built in a massive empire that's now
- 9:31Speaker 2: made him a billionaire. And he's a great negotiator, very
- 9:36Speaker 2: powerful force out there in Hollywood. So he's convinced CBS
- 9:39Speaker 2: to hand him the hour and there'll be two things
- 9:44Speaker 2: in the eleven thirty slot. It'll be Comics Unleashed with
- 9:48Speaker 2: Byron Allen, and they're going to try something different in
- 9:51Speaker 2: late night. They're going to do actual comedy. Now, you
- 9:55Speaker 2: got to remember, Colbert's not a comedy show. It's a
- 9:58Speaker 2: political shows, a hate filled show. They call it the
- 10:01Speaker 2: Late Show, they should call it the Hate Show. It's
- 10:03Speaker 2: a raging Trump derangement syndrome. Guy with like unbelievable hate
- 10:08Speaker 2: for President Trump, and that's his whole halfen, and then
- 10:11Speaker 2: Jimmy Kimmel copied that. So Byron Allen's going to take
- 10:14Speaker 2: it back to what Late Night was supposed to be,
- 10:17Speaker 2: just actual comedy entertainment. Laughs. Now this comic's unleashed every
- 10:24Speaker 2: night has a group of comedians and they're all very funny.
- 10:27Speaker 2: But here's the thing he has told them. The panel
- 10:31Speaker 2: has been told no politics. Quote. I tell the comedians
- 10:36Speaker 2: we're doing I Love Lucy. We want something that's in Evergreen.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Don't want to hear any political humor. Just be funny,
- 10:42Speaker 2: family friendly, advertiser friendly, funny. Now that's the first half hour.
- 10:49Speaker 2: The second half hour is going to be a comedy
- 10:51Speaker 2: game show, also produced by Byron Allen, called Funny you
- 10:55Speaker 2: Should Ask. So it'll be this comedy show, no political jokes,
- 10:59Speaker 2: nothing political, and then a game show that will replace Colbert.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Now prediction it'll do very well in the ratings. Now,
- 11:08Speaker 2: I remember these late night shows have tiny audiences. Colbert
- 11:10Speaker 2: has a tiny audience. Kimmel has an even smaller audience.
- 11:14Speaker 2: So when they see this, this do well. If it
- 11:18Speaker 2: gets triple, which it probably will probably get triple. Colbert's ratings.
- 11:22Speaker 2: You'll see Kimmel go pretty soon because then ABC will
- 11:25Speaker 2: do something like that. Fallon is a different sort of
- 11:28Speaker 2: a guy. He's gotten into that Colbert kind of a trap.
- 11:32Speaker 2: But Fallon is really deep down. He's just a great
- 11:36Speaker 2: comedian Saturday Night Live and great impression. So Fallon can
- 11:40Speaker 2: convert back to a comedy show. He'll drop all the
- 11:43Speaker 2: politics and go back to a straight comedy show. So
- 11:46Speaker 2: this will be the last chance to save Late Night.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Colbert and Kimmell absolutely destroyed it. It was created That's
- 11:54Speaker 2: a Night Show by Steve Allen and then Jack Parr
- 11:57Speaker 2: and Johnny Carson was just comedy entertainment. Jay Leno continued
- 12:01Speaker 2: the tradition. Then these guys just took it right down
- 12:03Speaker 2: into the sewer, just made it hatefield political. Also, remember
- 12:08Speaker 2: when you do that kind of left wing, crazy partisans,
- 12:11Speaker 2: you're chasing away half the audience right away. Your half
- 12:15Speaker 2: of America can't watch. It's a crazy business model. Hey,
- 12:18Speaker 2: Savannah Guthrie was back yesterday on The Today Show. What
- 12:22Speaker 2: did it sound like? Her first moment on the air
- 12:24Speaker 2: had a sun coming up.
- 12:25Speaker 3: Good morning, Welcome to Today on this Monday morning. We
- 12:28Speaker 3: are so glad you started your week with us, and
- 12:31Speaker 3: it is good to be home.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Yes, it is good to have you back at home.
- 12:34Speaker 3: Well, here we go, ready or not, let's do the news.
- 12:37Speaker 2: Yes, so good to have you back. Yeah. So while
- 12:40Speaker 2: this is going on, there was a guy who, way
- 12:43Speaker 2: back when was sending ransom letters. A lot of different
- 12:45Speaker 2: ransom letters coming in, but there were a couple they
- 12:48Speaker 2: thought might be legitimate. There was one long ago. There
- 12:50Speaker 2: was weeks and months, a couple of months ago when
- 12:53Speaker 2: this happened, sending ransom notes to TMC. Well, the guy
- 12:56Speaker 2: was back yesterday sending new ransom notes, and this time's
- 13:03Speaker 2: saying he wants money to let them he can tell
- 13:06Speaker 2: them where the body is and who the kidnapper was.
- 13:10Speaker 2: And he said she's dead in the ransom she's dead,
- 13:13Speaker 2: but I can tell you where you'll find the body.
- 13:16Speaker 2: It went to Harvey Levin. He immediately turned it over
- 13:20Speaker 2: FBI and everything. TMZ got the letter here there.
- 13:23Speaker 1: We got another letter today from this person, an email
- 13:28Speaker 1: saying I know where her body is and who the
- 13:31Speaker 1: kidnapper is. Give us, give me half a bitcoin and
- 13:35Speaker 1: I'll tell you. And this person has been really persistent,
- 13:39Speaker 1: knowing that if it's a scam.
- 13:42Speaker 2: It's a federal crime. That's pretty interesting. I mean, you
- 13:46Speaker 2: got to assume she's dead. It's sixty five days without
- 13:50Speaker 2: her heart medicine, blood pressure medicine, everything else. She's got
- 13:55Speaker 2: a pacemaker. Absolutely hard to believe she could you live
- 14:00Speaker 2: after sixty five days. So hey, the Artemis space capsule
- 14:05Speaker 2: orbiting the Moon took that great picture as they came
- 14:08Speaker 2: around the Moon. You see the Moon and way off
- 14:10Speaker 2: in the distance, up in the sky, little thing up
- 14:13Speaker 2: until you see the Earth. It's an incredible Instagram picture.
- 14:18Speaker 2: I know, you try to put up yourself at some
- 14:20Speaker 2: amazing shot for Instagram, you can't top that one. It
- 14:24Speaker 2: costs like eight billion to get this Instagram shot. But
- 14:27Speaker 2: outside of that, I don't know what we're going to
- 14:28Speaker 2: do over there, but hey, we'll take some calls. Next.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten is the number.
- 14:35Speaker 2: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten
