- 0:00Speaker 1: I think my mindset shifted when I stopped competing and
- 0:04Speaker 1: being competitive and comparing myself to others, And now I
- 0:07Speaker 1: just like compare myself to myself, like I want to
- 0:10Speaker 1: outdo me, Like I'm my biggest competition, Like I don't
- 0:13Speaker 1: care who you put in front of me. I know
- 0:15Speaker 1: everything about myself. I know my good and I know
- 0:17Speaker 1: my bad, and I'm my biggest competition.
- 0:34Speaker 2: What's going on? Everyone?

- 1:11Speaker 3: She is a w NBA player for the Phoenix Mercury
- 1:16Speaker 3: and honestly an all around powerhouse. We chat about so
- 1:21Speaker 3: much goodness in today's episode, from what it was like
- 1:24Speaker 3: growing up in Missouri and indulging in the farm life
- 1:29Speaker 3: to coming into her own as an athlete, what it
- 1:32Speaker 3: felt like to put the blinders on, shut out the
- 1:35Speaker 3: quote unquote haters, and focus on her craft, working as
- 1:39Speaker 3: hard as possible day in and day out through college.
- 1:44Speaker 2: All the way to the WNBA.
- 1:46Speaker 3: Sophie talks to me about her passion for volunteering to
- 1:50Speaker 3: lift up the next generation through both the tournament that
- 1:54Speaker 3: she contributes to called the Sophie Cunningham Classic, as well
- 1:58Speaker 3: as her work with young women's basketball teams. She also
- 2:02Speaker 3: shared with me how amped she is to get her
- 2:05Speaker 3: feet wet with some broadcast work, getting behind the mic
- 2:09Speaker 3: to work with the Phoenix Suns broadcast team, a new
- 2:13Speaker 3: venture for the twenty six year old, and of course
- 2:16Speaker 3: we talk about nutrition. We were brought together by her
- 2:20Speaker 3: sponsor at Quest, so naturally we talk about our favorite
- 2:23Speaker 3: Quest Bar flavors, and how it feels for her to
- 2:26Speaker 3: be playing in Phoenix alongside some of the greats in
- 2:30Speaker 3: the game. I'm talking about both Diana Torrassi and Brittany Griner.
- 2:35Speaker 3: Many of you know Brittany's story from over the past
- 2:38Speaker 3: year two years. Sophie opens up about what it was
- 2:41Speaker 3: like to stand by her teammate and how they all
- 2:44Speaker 3: truly have one another's backs. I love her attitude, I
- 2:48Speaker 3: love how fierce she is, and most of all, I
- 2:52Speaker 3: adore this conversation. Make sure if you're not yet subscribed

- 3:43Speaker 3: get to hurdling.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Today.
- 3:54Speaker 3: I am sitting down with Sophie Cunningham. She is a
- 3:57Speaker 3: pro WNBA player for the Phoenix. How are you doing today, Sophie,
- 4:02Speaker 3: so good.
- 4:02Speaker 4: I'm so excited for this and to chat with you
- 4:04Speaker 4: a little bit.
- 4:05Speaker 2: I am so excited for this too.
- 4:07Speaker 3: You are a busy person by the nature of the
- 4:09Speaker 3: fact that you typically play so many games every week,
- 4:13Speaker 3: so I just want to like take a down step
- 4:15Speaker 3: really quick and ask you, how are you doing really today?
- 4:20Speaker 4: Well? Thank you.
- 4:21Speaker 1: I'm so happy you asked that, because I think when
- 4:24Speaker 1: you get when you are in the school terms like hey,
- 4:26Speaker 1: how are you?
- 4:27Speaker 4: Oh? Good bye?
- 4:28Speaker 1: You know, so it's just kind of a small talk.
- 4:29Speaker 1: But to be honest, I'm good. Like it's hot here
- 4:32Speaker 1: in Arizona. I was at the pool yesterday. My only
- 4:36Speaker 1: downfalls I have a broken finger right now, it's part
- 4:39Speaker 1: of it, but no, my family's coming down soon, and
- 4:41Speaker 1: so I'm in a good spot.
- 4:43Speaker 2: I'm happy with the broken finger.
- 4:45Speaker 3: How does that impact your game and does that tweak
- 4:47Speaker 3: you being able to get on the court?
- 4:49Speaker 1: Not really, to be honest, because it's my off hand
- 4:51Speaker 1: and so if people watch me play, I have like
- 4:53Speaker 1: a claw out there, like it looks awful and I
- 4:55Speaker 1: should probably get my nails done because you know it's
- 4:57Speaker 1: drawing attention, but whatever.
- 4:58Speaker 4: But no, it's good.
- 4:59Speaker 1: I mean, the pressure of the ball sometimes hurts, but
- 5:02Speaker 1: when you're in it and your agentalin's going, it's all good.
- 5:04Speaker 2: It's all good. Yeah.
- 5:06Speaker 3: I've watched your like your shooting style lately, and it
- 5:09Speaker 3: is certainly a little bit different.
- 5:12Speaker 4: Yeah, a little bit.
- 5:13Speaker 1: I let that thing fly, you know, I don't sometimes
- 5:17Speaker 1: I'm not set.
- 5:17Speaker 4: You know, it is what it is.
- 5:19Speaker 1: But as long as it goes in, I'm not worried
- 5:20Speaker 1: about it.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Is it safe to say that you love what you're
- 5:24Speaker 2: doing right now?
- 5:25Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, yes, Like, I just think, to be honest,
- 5:29Speaker 1: we're going through a heck of a year right now.
- 5:31Speaker 1: We got a new head coach, we just got a
- 5:33Speaker 1: new GM, we got new ownership last year with matt
- 5:37Speaker 1: Ishbia and he's absolutely amazing and the people he's brought
- 5:39Speaker 1: in are really, really good people. And I think we're
- 5:43Speaker 1: just kind of in that transition year where it's a
- 5:45Speaker 1: grind right now and it's just one of those years
- 5:47Speaker 1: that you kind of have to find the joy in it,
- 5:50Speaker 1: find the beauty. It's definitely in a valley. But I
- 5:53Speaker 1: think there's so much growth and so much beauty when
- 5:57Speaker 1: when you're struggling, and so it's just kind of that
- 6:00Speaker 1: growth mindset, that positive mindset through these times. It's definitely
- 6:04Speaker 1: testing our character. But for me, I don't look at
- 6:07Speaker 1: failures as a negative thing. I think when you're kind
- 6:10Speaker 1: of going through it is when you learn a lot
- 6:12Speaker 1: about yourself and about the culture and environment that you're
- 6:15Speaker 1: working in.
- 6:16Speaker 3: You're on the right podcast, lady, So talk to me
- 6:19Speaker 3: a little bit about where that mindset comes from for you.
- 6:24Speaker 3: Have you always been the kind of person that's able
- 6:26Speaker 3: to see the silver lining and the positives from a
- 6:29Speaker 3: struggle or has this been a thought process or a
- 6:32Speaker 3: mindset that has been acquired with time.
- 6:36Speaker 1: It's definitely been. Our family are very positive people. We're
- 6:39Speaker 1: actually farmers. I grew up in Columbia, Missouri, and so
- 6:43Speaker 1: farming there's a lot of beauty in it, but it's
- 6:45Speaker 1: hard work. Like I think everyone in their lives should
- 6:48Speaker 1: go be a farmer for.
- 6:49Speaker 4: Two days two and a half days, and I.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Think you'd have a different perspective on life just a
- 6:53Speaker 1: little bit. But our family, we're all very competitive. We
- 6:58Speaker 1: have a lot of positive people, a lot of positive
- 7:00Speaker 1: male figures in our life, a lot of positive female
- 7:02Speaker 1: figures in our life, and so me and my sister
- 7:04Speaker 1: got very blessed with our environment growing up, and so yeah,
- 7:07Speaker 1: we always kind of saw the positive and things, but
- 7:10Speaker 1: it's not always easy, and especially when you're really going
- 7:13Speaker 1: through it, it's hard. Like before All Star Break, I
- 7:16Speaker 1: was like, what am I doing with my life? Like
- 7:18Speaker 1: this is not fun. I was going through a rut.
- 7:20Speaker 1: I couldn't throw the ball into the ocean. I swear
- 7:23Speaker 1: to God I couldn't. And I was just like, this
- 7:25Speaker 1: is awful, Like why did I work so hard for this?
- 7:28Speaker 1: But for me, you know, I have a great faith
- 7:31Speaker 1: in God, and I know that you know you're not
- 7:34Speaker 1: going to stay down there and you're learning something through
- 7:36Speaker 1: those things. And so for me, that's what keeps me going,
- 7:38Speaker 1: that's what keeps me motivated, is because I'm learning something
- 7:41Speaker 1: through these valleys and through these hard times. And for me,
- 7:45Speaker 1: I want to be a great leader. I want to
- 7:46Speaker 1: be a great teammate. I want to be someone who's
- 7:48Speaker 1: great in the community. And you're not always going to
- 7:51Speaker 1: be on top. Not everything is always going to be
- 7:53Speaker 1: rainbows and butterflies, And so I think that when you
- 7:55Speaker 1: can really embrace those struggles, that's part of the story,
- 7:58Speaker 1: and that the struggle is what makes it even more beautiful.
- 8:01Speaker 3: Definitely, No, totally makes sense. You talk about this sentiment,
- 8:05Speaker 3: what did I work so hard for for this? Why
- 8:07Speaker 3: did I work so hard? And if it's going to
- 8:08Speaker 3: be like this, talk to us a little bit about
- 8:11Speaker 3: that work. When did you know that this was going
- 8:15Speaker 3: to be the path that you would be pursuing.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Yeah, to be honest, I think from a very young age,
- 8:21Speaker 1: I always wanted to be a professional basketball player, and
- 8:25Speaker 1: I found success at a really young age. You know,
- 8:27Speaker 1: even at the age of five, I was playing soccer
- 8:30Speaker 1: on a boys team and the boys parents were getting
- 8:33Speaker 1: mad at me, and my parents are like, she's too aggressive,
- 8:35Speaker 1: she's too physical, And my parents had to carry my
- 8:37Speaker 1: birth certificate around and be like, no, she's actually the
- 8:40Speaker 1: boy's age. You know, she's just a great athlete. So
- 8:43Speaker 1: you know, give her some props a little bit. And
- 8:45Speaker 1: so I wish I was better at school. I wish
- 8:48Speaker 1: I took it more seriously because when I put my
- 8:50Speaker 1: mind as something, I can do it right. But my
- 8:52Speaker 1: mind was always making it to the WNBA. You know,
- 8:56Speaker 1: there's a lot of ups and downs. There. There's a
- 8:58Speaker 1: lot of moments in high school that were hard. You
- 9:01Speaker 1: missed out on a ton of things. There's a lot
- 9:03Speaker 1: of stuff in college. There are people who were giving
- 9:06Speaker 1: me threats to take my life and to take my parents' life.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Like I really stirred the pot in college, Like I
- 9:10Speaker 1: don't know what I did, but I mean, it's part
- 9:12Speaker 1: of it, right. And then once I got here, you know,
- 9:16Speaker 1: I think through the struggle. My first couple of years
- 9:19Speaker 1: in the WNBA, I really didn't play much. I was
- 9:21Speaker 1: Diana Tarassi's sub when she was hurt. I would go
- 9:24Speaker 1: in when she needed a breathere, I went in and
- 9:26Speaker 1: I've never been something to come off the bench, and
- 9:28Speaker 1: so it was like a whole new territory for me
- 9:30Speaker 1: because I've always been a starter through high school through college,
- 9:34Speaker 1: and so it was something I had to learn. But
- 9:36Speaker 1: through that process, I got in the gym every single
- 9:38Speaker 1: day and I made sure I got one percent better.
- 9:41Speaker 1: And so I stayed persistent, even though I didn't like
- 9:43Speaker 1: where I was at. I still had to put in
- 9:44Speaker 1: the work because I knew that eventually it was my
- 9:47Speaker 1: hard work was going to show and it was going
- 9:49Speaker 1: to pay off, and during this runt a couple or
- 9:52Speaker 1: a month ago, I had to have that same mindset
- 9:54Speaker 1: I had five years ago, because I was like, what
- 9:56Speaker 1: the heck is going on? Like I'm known as a shooter,
- 9:59Speaker 1: and I sears I could even make a layup, like
- 10:01Speaker 1: I have no idea what was going on. But I
- 10:03Speaker 1: still got in every day and I just made sure
- 10:06Speaker 1: that I was putting in the work because the ball
- 10:08Speaker 1: doesn't lie. And I hated putting in the work, but
- 10:10Speaker 1: sometimes you have to still do it even when it's
- 10:12Speaker 1: not fun.
- 10:14Speaker 3: So much to double click on here first and foremost
- 10:16Speaker 3: were people coming for you because of the way that
- 10:18Speaker 3: you played in high.
- 10:19Speaker 1: School that I was just feisty. I still am, but
- 10:24Speaker 1: really was in college. I just didn't back down. And
- 10:27Speaker 1: I'm the ultimate competitor, and I'm someone who loves to compete.
- 10:30Speaker 1: And when I'm out on the floor, like I smile
- 10:32Speaker 1: and I laugh and like if you say something to me,
- 10:34Speaker 1: I'm coming right back at you, Like I'm someone who
- 10:36Speaker 1: has to have the last word. And I'm not saying
- 10:38Speaker 1: that's a good thing. It's got me into a bull
- 10:40Speaker 1: a couple of times, but that's what makes me me,
- 10:43Speaker 1: Like I'm sassy, I'm feisty. I'm gonna have my team's
- 10:46Speaker 1: back and do whatever it takes to win, and so
- 10:48Speaker 1: I'll never apologize for that.
- 10:50Speaker 3: I remember I was reading an article on Britney Griner
- 10:54Speaker 3: was talking about how she also.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Has your back, right.
- 10:56Speaker 3: I forget what game it was in, but someone had
- 11:00Speaker 3: think like shoved you to the core and it was
- 11:01Speaker 3: like all hands on deck, like we've got your back,
- 11:04Speaker 3: just like you've got ours.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Oh yeah, And that is such a fun environment to
- 11:09Speaker 1: be a part of, and a culture to be a
- 11:10Speaker 1: part of is when you know your whole team supports
- 11:13Speaker 1: you and has you, then you can put your kind
- 11:16Speaker 1: of neck on the line when something happens for them too.
- 11:18Speaker 1: But when everyone has each other, it's a it's a
- 11:20Speaker 1: fun place to.
- 11:21Speaker 2: Play in, definitely.
- 11:22Speaker 3: And you mentioned you know, and thank you for your
- 11:25Speaker 3: vulnerability here talking about being in these difficult moments. Talk
- 11:29Speaker 3: me through where your mind goes when these challenges arise.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Is it straight to this place.
- 11:35Speaker 3: Where you're like all right, like put in the work,
- 11:38Speaker 3: I've got this whatever, or do you have some time
- 11:40Speaker 3: where you actually feel your feelings as well?
- 11:44Speaker 1: Oh Sistar, here we go. We're about to unpack this.
- 11:49Speaker 1: So normally I'm a very much like go with the
- 11:52Speaker 1: flow type person, like I, no matter what's going on,
- 11:55Speaker 1: I want to have fun. I want to make sure
- 11:57Speaker 1: people feel good, and that's just who I am. But
- 12:01Speaker 1: I just started working with a sports psychologist because honestly,
- 12:04Speaker 1: at this point, everyone is good. Everyone are elite athletes.
- 12:09Speaker 1: I mean, we're in the toughest league in the whole
- 12:11Speaker 1: entire world, and so what are you doing to set
- 12:13Speaker 1: yourself apart? And for me, that's my mental game. Like
- 12:16Speaker 1: if if my mental is on, I don't care who
- 12:18Speaker 1: you put in front of me, I'm beating them, you
- 12:21Speaker 1: know what I mean. But that's part of the process
- 12:22Speaker 1: of what I'm going through right now is getting to
- 12:24Speaker 1: that point. And so a couple of weeks ago, when
- 12:27Speaker 1: I was in the rut, I called my sports side guy,
- 12:29Speaker 1: poor Zach.
- 12:30Speaker 4: You probably think I'm crazy.
- 12:31Speaker 1: I've just started working with him, and I was like,
- 12:34Speaker 1: I am in a rut and I think I'm going
- 12:35Speaker 1: to kill someone, Like I have cried so much. I
- 12:39Speaker 1: am just frustrated, like I don't know what is going on,
- 12:41Speaker 1: and I don't I'm not a crier, and I normally
- 12:45Speaker 1: see the positives but like for a couple of days,
- 12:47Speaker 1: like I was just like in my feelings and to me,
- 12:50Speaker 1: like looking back, it's funny now, but I'm so glad
- 12:52Speaker 1: that I let myself go there, because like I let
- 12:55Speaker 1: myself feel like that's part of this journey and a
- 12:57Speaker 1: part of being a professional athlete is you have thousands
- 13:00Speaker 1: of thousands of people always watching your every single move.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Like I can't go anywhere. It's a blessing. I can't
- 13:06Speaker 1: go anywhere out here without someone being like, oh are
- 13:09Speaker 1: you soaphy from the Phoenix Mercury, and so like you always.
- 13:12Speaker 4: Have to dot your eyes, cross your t's, you know
- 13:14Speaker 4: what I mean.
- 13:15Speaker 1: And so it's a lot of pressure sometimes and so
- 13:17Speaker 1: for me just to kind of stay home and feel
- 13:19Speaker 1: my feelings right down in my journal and honestly pray
- 13:22Speaker 1: and just get away from people was probably the best
- 13:24Speaker 1: thing I did. And now I'm back, you know, like
- 13:26Speaker 1: I let myself feel, put it aside, and now here
- 13:28Speaker 1: you go.
- 13:29Speaker 3: You're rewarded with the fact that you were allowing yourself
- 13:33Speaker 3: to go through all of those different emotions. Clearly, working
- 13:37Speaker 3: with this sports psychologist is certainly having an impact on you.
- 13:42Speaker 3: Is this the first time that you've worked with a
- 13:43Speaker 3: sports psychologist, and what would you say are some of
- 13:47Speaker 3: the best takeaways that you've had from your collaboration so far.
- 13:51Speaker 4: Yeah, no, it's not.
- 13:52Speaker 1: We had a great sports psychologist in college, Scott and Mooreton.
- 13:56Speaker 1: She was absolutely phenomenal and she helped me a lot
- 13:59Speaker 1: through college. And I think what I've taken away from
- 14:01Speaker 1: her and from Zach and Brett Ledbetter so far is
- 14:06Speaker 1: like this is this is life. Like You're not always
- 14:09Speaker 1: going to be on top of the mountain, You're not
- 14:10Speaker 1: always going to be in the valley. So you can't
- 14:12Speaker 1: allow yourself to get so high and get so low.
- 14:14Speaker 1: And it's okay to feel and the hard times are
- 14:16Speaker 1: never gonna last. The good times are never gonna last.
- 14:18Speaker 1: And so I think for me, it's just putting my
- 14:22Speaker 1: best foot forward every day and if I can try
- 14:24Speaker 1: to be better every single day, sometimes that's gonna look different.
- 14:27Speaker 1: It's gonna look different every single day. But if I
- 14:31Speaker 1: am am trying to be better every single day, then
- 14:33Speaker 1: eventually this long journey, I'm going to get who I
- 14:36Speaker 1: want to be. And you know that I have a
- 14:37Speaker 1: lot of goals. But again I keep saying this, but
- 14:41Speaker 1: it's so true, because I think people think that when
- 14:43Speaker 1: you're a professional athlete that everything always goes your way
- 14:46Speaker 1: and that you don't have hard days, you don't have
- 14:48Speaker 1: hard months or hard years or hard seasons, and that's
- 14:51Speaker 1: just not true at all. We're still human and this
- 14:54Speaker 1: is still our job, and everyone's job is not always fun,
- 14:56Speaker 1: and so it's just part of the beauty putting your
- 14:59Speaker 1: best foot forward every single day and trying to get
- 15:01Speaker 1: one percent better every day.
- 15:02Speaker 2: One percent better every day.
- 15:03Speaker 3: I love that he's touched on the fact that you
- 15:06Speaker 3: have a lot of eyes on you. Those eyes, the
- 15:08Speaker 3: number of eyes have been growing every year every season.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Was there an adjustment period for that for you? Not really.
- 15:17Speaker 1: I think I was, like I've always wanted to be, honestly,
- 15:21Speaker 1: like a singer, like a country music singer. Like I
- 15:23Speaker 1: always wanted to be on stage singing, you know, like
- 15:26Speaker 1: having the crowd out in front of me. So I
- 15:27Speaker 1: think I was like born to kind of entertain a
- 15:29Speaker 1: little bit. But with that it's hard, man, Like, you
- 15:33Speaker 1: can't offend people who don't have an ego, And that's
- 15:36Speaker 1: something that I've really held onto because when you have
- 15:38Speaker 1: good games and you let all these people praise you
- 15:41Speaker 1: and it makes you feel so good. Well, when you
- 15:43Speaker 1: have a bad game, you're still going to look at
- 15:45Speaker 1: these same people who are going to be, you know,
- 15:47Speaker 1: kind of shitting on you a little bit, and there
- 15:49Speaker 1: you're gonna let that take the heart too. So I
- 15:51Speaker 1: just kind of block it out. I try to be
- 15:53Speaker 1: a positive influence with all my social media's. I just
- 15:56Speaker 1: try to bring light to people, bring a smile to people,
- 15:59Speaker 1: and I try not to take it too seriously. But
- 16:02Speaker 1: then I think there are important topics like mental health
- 16:05Speaker 1: and kids and teenagers who are in sport that need
- 16:09Speaker 1: to hear things that are the truth. And so I
- 16:11Speaker 1: think the older I get, I want to kind of
- 16:13Speaker 1: take on that mentor roleshift a little bit to help
- 16:15Speaker 1: people with their journey. But also like it's so fun,
- 16:18Speaker 1: Like I think mental health people are always like, oh,
- 16:20Speaker 1: it's so tight and scary to talk about, but I
- 16:22Speaker 1: think it's honestly kind of really fun to talk about.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Well, then let's talk about it. Let's do it.
- 16:27Speaker 3: So what has your experience been when it comes to
- 16:31Speaker 3: taking care of your mental health?
- 16:33Speaker 2: Would you say that you've always been able?
- 16:36Speaker 3: I know I asked you before about upkeeping with this
- 16:38Speaker 3: positive mindset. But have you had experiences in your life
- 16:42Speaker 3: where getting to that place has been challenging for you?
- 16:46Speaker 1: Sometimes in the middle of season when you don't when
- 16:49Speaker 1: you're traveling a lot and you can't get that balance,
- 16:51Speaker 1: is sometimes when it kind of turns into a grind
- 16:54Speaker 1: and you can't appreciate that you could do dribble orange
- 16:56Speaker 1: basketball for a living. And so I've always been someone
- 16:59Speaker 1: I promise from a very very young age. I think
- 17:02Speaker 1: everyone's like, oh, she had to be a gym rat
- 17:03Speaker 1: if she made it to the league, or the way
- 17:05Speaker 1: she shoot, she has to be in the gym six
- 17:06Speaker 1: hours a day. And that's honestly the absolute opposite thing
- 17:09Speaker 1: I ever did. Like I when I went to practice
- 17:11Speaker 1: and I got in my extra shots, and when I'm
- 17:13Speaker 1: in the gym, I'm in the zone and I'm going
- 17:15Speaker 1: one hundred and ten percent.
- 17:16Speaker 4: No one is outworking me. I promise you that. But
- 17:18Speaker 4: then when.
- 17:19Speaker 1: Practice is done, I'm going straight to the pool, I'm
- 17:22Speaker 1: going to the lake, I'm going somewhere outdoors. I'm hanging
- 17:24Speaker 1: with my friends and I'm not doing anything with basketball.
- 17:27Speaker 1: And I think that's why I have found success is
- 17:30Speaker 1: because I have that healthy balance of I put in
- 17:33Speaker 1: my work and I go super super hard, and I
- 17:36Speaker 1: feel good about what I did, and then I get
- 17:38Speaker 1: to go lay out at the pool tan and turn
- 17:41Speaker 1: my brain off and just enjoy life. And so I
- 17:44Speaker 1: do think it is very important to kind of have
- 17:46Speaker 1: that balance.
- 17:47Speaker 3: So then what does mentorship look like for you right
- 17:50Speaker 3: now when it comes to either speaking out about mental
- 17:54Speaker 3: health or other topic areas that you are enthusiastic about.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I think just sharing as much as that. Well,
- 18:02Speaker 1: we're traveling a time right now, so it looks a
- 18:04Speaker 1: little different than it does in the off season. But
- 18:07Speaker 1: right now, I think it's just like kind of showing
- 18:09Speaker 1: my day to day, showing what I eat, showing what
- 18:12Speaker 1: our practices look like. I'm at the pool all the time,
- 18:15Speaker 1: showing people like, hey, you know I'm here, I'm chilling,
- 18:18Speaker 1: I'm getting my time in, my balance in and for me,
- 18:23Speaker 1: I have a lot of people reach out and I
- 18:24Speaker 1: try to get back with them. In the off season,
- 18:27Speaker 1: we host a Sophia Hunningham Classic back home in Columbia, Missouri,
- 18:31Speaker 1: and we make sure we talk with every team and
- 18:34Speaker 1: make them ask us questions like let us help mentor
- 18:37Speaker 1: you because it is hard being a teenage girl, especially
- 18:39Speaker 1: when you're tall and you have bigger shoulders than the
- 18:42Speaker 1: guys and you have bigger muscles than the guys. Like,
- 18:45Speaker 1: it's hard, and sometimes it does take a mental kind
- 18:48Speaker 1: of beaten on you because you just don't feel girly
- 18:52Speaker 1: or you just feel bigger than everyone. But we're like, no, sister,
- 18:55Speaker 1: that is your superpower. And one day you were going
- 18:57Speaker 1: to love your shoulders. You're gonna love how tall you are,
- 18:59Speaker 1: so embracing your shoulders back.
- 19:01Speaker 3: Did you go through a period where you had difficulty
- 19:03Speaker 3: accepting yourself for what you had to offer?
- 19:07Speaker 1: Honestly, this is so funny because I'm six to one
- 19:10Speaker 1: and I'm like anywhere from one hundred and sixty five
- 19:12Speaker 1: to one hundred and seventy two pounds, Like I do
- 19:15Speaker 1: not hide that, Like I am.
- 19:16Speaker 2: A big girl a specific range.
- 19:19Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Like well that's like that's the brain TIM
- 19:21Speaker 1: always in. And I say one hundred and seventy two
- 19:23Speaker 1: because like that could be the highest. But I proudly
- 19:26Speaker 1: say that. But I am so blessed because I had
- 19:29Speaker 1: an aunt who was six y three, my mom was
- 19:32Speaker 1: five eleven, my grandma was five ten. We have really
- 19:35Speaker 1: tall athletic women and we're not we're we're not petique,
- 19:39Speaker 1: and so they're always like, you know, embrace that, like
- 19:42Speaker 1: that is your superpower, Like this is what's going to
- 19:44Speaker 1: make you stand out. And I think from a very
- 19:47Speaker 1: young and our father figures, I also want we always
- 19:51Speaker 1: kind of are really hard on men. But my dad
- 19:54Speaker 1: is the best girl dad that I have ever seen.
- 19:57Speaker 1: My uncles are the best girl uncles. My grandpa, like
- 20:00Speaker 1: everyone really embraced us and like put us on this
- 20:02Speaker 1: pedestal to like be beautiful, strong, tall women, And that's
- 20:06Speaker 1: going to be your superpower. That's what's going to make
- 20:08Speaker 1: you stand out and become who you want to be.
- 20:10Speaker 1: And so for me, I've just carried that message on.
- 20:13Speaker 1: I tell young girls that all the time, and I
- 20:15Speaker 1: also tell young boys that because I think that they
- 20:18Speaker 1: deal with a lot of mental health issues that we
- 20:20Speaker 1: don't give them credit for or try to help them
- 20:22Speaker 1: as much. And so for me, I do want to
- 20:25Speaker 1: help the young girls as much as possible, but I
- 20:27Speaker 1: do think it is important to help the young boys
- 20:29Speaker 1: as well, who are in.
- 20:30Speaker 3: Sports, yeah, being able to open up about this stuff
- 20:33Speaker 3: that they may not feel necessarily safe to do.
- 20:36Speaker 2: So all of the time. You mentioned in being a mentor.
- 20:40Speaker 3: That part of that for you is showing balance across
- 20:43Speaker 3: your social platform, showing both the practice and the hard efforts,
- 20:47Speaker 3: but also kicking back as well. And you talked about
- 20:50Speaker 3: what I eat. Talk to me a little bit about
- 20:53Speaker 3: how at your height, your stature, your performance level, you
- 20:58Speaker 3: are fueling on the right.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Okay, I'm going to start because I'm going to be
- 21:03Speaker 1: I'm a very authentic person. Like I'm just gonna throw
- 21:06Speaker 1: it out there that I used to eat a big
- 21:08Speaker 1: Mac and ten Peace Chicken McNuggets before games in.
- 21:12Speaker 2: College and high school.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Like I was disgusting, and so I like I just
- 21:19Speaker 1: didn't care, like I was finding success. But when you're
- 21:22Speaker 1: at a young age and you're at a fun college,
- 21:25Speaker 1: like you're not really caring about what you put into
- 21:27Speaker 1: your body. And about three years ago at the pro level,
- 21:31Speaker 1: like I was like, dang, I'm feeling old, Like my
- 21:33Speaker 1: knees are hurting, my back is hurting.
- 21:35Speaker 4: I'm like, what is going on?
- 21:36Speaker 1: And so I really started to like dial in on
- 21:40Speaker 1: my on my diet, and I saw my body transform,
- 21:44Speaker 1: especially this past year, Like I got tests to see
- 21:47Speaker 1: what I'm sensitive to, allergic to. I've really cleaned up
- 21:50Speaker 1: my diet, and I promise you everyone who knows me,
- 21:54Speaker 1: they think it is like they don't even know what's
- 21:56Speaker 1: me anymore, because I used to eat McDonald's Wendy's talk
- 21:58Speaker 1: about all the time and I'm that stuff is so grossed,
- 22:01Speaker 1: like why are you eating that? But now I've been
- 22:04Speaker 1: working with Quest a lot. They've helped me get the
- 22:07Speaker 1: protein I need. Absolutely phenomenal. I've really used them every
- 22:11Speaker 1: single day with my coffee, with my snacks, with bars
- 22:14Speaker 1: because we're traveling all the.
- 22:16Speaker 4: Time, and I'm making sure that I mean.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Healthy, I mean clean, because that's what you need to
- 22:21Speaker 1: treat your body like elite motors, and that's what I
- 22:24Speaker 1: haven't been doing, but I have been doing the past
- 22:26Speaker 1: couple of years, and I see a nine day difference
- 22:29Speaker 1: in my game as well.
- 22:30Speaker 2: For sure.
- 22:30Speaker 3: I'm definitely a cookie dough quest curly, what's yours?
- 22:35Speaker 4: Okay?
- 22:35Speaker 1: So have you tried the new blueberry bar?
- 22:37Speaker 2: Oh? I haven't yet.
- 22:39Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. It is like a blueberry muffin. Like
- 22:41Speaker 1: and I'm not someone who really liked all the protein
- 22:45Speaker 1: stuff because like it's too chalky to me. But they're
- 22:48Speaker 1: new products that they have put out lately. Oh my gosh,
- 22:51Speaker 1: like it is like a moist blueberry muffin. I'm not
- 22:53Speaker 1: even kidding. So I'm gonna send you something.
- 22:55Speaker 4: You gotta try it.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Not getting the deal deal.
- 22:57Speaker 4: You know.
- 22:58Speaker 3: The thing that's funny about you is I think it's
- 23:00Speaker 3: on your Twitter page.
- 23:01Speaker 2: The caption is God and food are all in need. Yes, ma'am,
- 23:07Speaker 2: I love that. I love that.
- 23:09Speaker 3: So okay, we're making sure that we're getting that protein in.
- 23:11Speaker 3: Are you big on hydration now as well?
- 23:15Speaker 4: I am?
- 23:16Speaker 1: And I set the record at Miszoo for the worst
- 23:19Speaker 1: hydration test of all sports of any year. And so again,
- 23:23Speaker 1: like I'm gonna just be honest because I used to
- 23:26Speaker 1: suck at it. I used to suck with my diet,
- 23:28Speaker 1: and now, especially living out here in Arizona, you've got
- 23:31Speaker 1: to be on your hydration. And I've had some back issues.
- 23:36Speaker 1: I tour both my elbows with some Tommy John if
- 23:40Speaker 1: you know what that is with baseball, so I'd have
- 23:42Speaker 1: to get both of those done, and hydration plays a
- 23:44Speaker 1: huge role in my recovery. So hydration and protein are
- 23:48Speaker 1: my two biggest things that I've got to keen on.
- 23:51Speaker 3: I just want to make sure that we establish for
- 23:54Speaker 3: those that may be out of the loop that Sophie
- 23:56Speaker 3: is currently twenty six and she feels old.
- 24:02Speaker 1: I'm starting to feel younger because I'm treating my body
- 24:05Speaker 1: more like a temple. But you know, there's those weekends
- 24:07Speaker 1: where it's just, you know, you feel like you're eighteen again.
- 24:10Speaker 1: You know, then you wake up and you feel fifty six.
- 24:13Speaker 4: So you're trying to find that balance.
- 24:14Speaker 2: You know, I'm more often than not feeling fifty six.
- 24:17Speaker 2: So I hear you, I hear you. I have a
- 24:19Speaker 2: few years on you.
- 24:20Speaker 3: So then talk to us a little bit about what
- 24:23Speaker 3: excites you right now with the work that you're doing,
- 24:27Speaker 3: both in and outside of basketball.
- 24:30Speaker 1: All right, we'll start within basketball. For me, I am
- 24:33Speaker 1: twenty six. It is my fifth year in the league,
- 24:36Speaker 1: and what is so exciting for me? And I'm not
- 24:39Speaker 1: a patient person and so it kind of sucks sometimes,
- 24:42Speaker 1: but it's exciting right now that people don't reach their
- 24:45Speaker 1: best basketball until they're thirty two years old in the league,
- 24:49Speaker 1: and so for me, like I'm making big strides. I
- 24:53Speaker 1: am staying here in the off season and I'm getting
- 24:55Speaker 1: a trainer, I've worked on my diet, I'm in the
- 24:57Speaker 1: weight room, my conditioning level. I'm doing some NBA TV
- 25:03Speaker 1: for the Suns, and that's actually opened up my perspective
- 25:06Speaker 1: of basketball off the court, of watching film almost and
- 25:09Speaker 1: so there's a lot of exciting things on the court. Hopefully,
- 25:13Speaker 1: you know, I can be a part of the three
- 25:14Speaker 1: v three Olympics with the USA Basketball, so I know
- 25:17Speaker 1: I'll get a shot at that. And so there's a
- 25:19Speaker 1: lot of exciting things basketball wise. But again, it's all
- 25:23Speaker 1: nice and shiny, but you still have to put in
- 25:25Speaker 1: the work and you have to get there, and so
- 25:27Speaker 1: I'm looking forward to that. I'd say, off the court, yeah, yeah,
- 25:32Speaker 1: everything looks nice, but it's the journey of getting there
- 25:35Speaker 1: and all the ups and downs, and but I'm looking
- 25:37Speaker 1: forward to it. And then off the court, I have
- 25:41Speaker 1: two AU teams. They're called Team Sophie Cunningham, and that
- 25:45Speaker 1: is like one of my biggest things that I love
- 25:47Speaker 1: is because I get to talk to these girls, I
- 25:49Speaker 1: get to help mentor you get to go to all
- 25:52Speaker 1: these tournaments around the country. Well let me say, all
- 25:55Speaker 1: these guys get to go to all these country or
- 25:57Speaker 1: all these tournaments around the country, and they get all
- 25:59Speaker 1: these they get like shoes they get bags, they get
- 26:03Speaker 1: all this gear and all that type of stuff, and
- 26:05Speaker 1: we just didn't like growing up. I know, like that
- 26:08Speaker 1: was ten years ago for me, but we just didn't
- 26:09Speaker 1: get that stuff. And so I'm an Adidas athlete, I'm
- 26:13Speaker 1: also a Quest athlete, and now I get to kind
- 26:16Speaker 1: of collab with these really two big companies and give
- 26:19Speaker 1: it back to these.
- 26:20Speaker 4: Girls who deserve it, and so I get really excited
- 26:23Speaker 4: about that.
- 26:25Speaker 1: And then I have the Sophie Cunningham Classic, which is
- 26:27Speaker 1: a all girls tournament pretty much, and we get to
- 26:31Speaker 1: throw a lot of cool people are there. ESPN is
- 26:35Speaker 1: going to be involved. We get to talk to these teams,
- 26:38Speaker 1: we get to help mentor these girls, and it's a
- 26:40Speaker 1: very interactive, hands on experience for these young athletes. So
- 26:44Speaker 1: it's super exciting, super fun, and I'm looking forward to
- 26:47Speaker 1: it again this year.
- 26:48Speaker 3: He touched on you know, women playing their best basketball
- 26:52Speaker 3: at age thirty two and older. We've already mentioned Diana
- 26:55Speaker 3: Trassi and Britney Griner. What is it like for you
- 26:58Speaker 3: to play on a team with these two incredible humans?
- 27:05Speaker 1: Oh gosh, there's just like not a lot of words
- 27:07Speaker 1: to put into it, because they are Diane is.
- 27:09Speaker 4: The goat of the WNBA of.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Women's basketball in general, and so just to kind of
- 27:14Speaker 1: get a little piece of her mind and her mentorship
- 27:17Speaker 1: has been unbelievable. The way she thinks, like her and
- 27:20Speaker 1: Kobe are on the same level. And I always try
- 27:22Speaker 1: to tell people that because everyone knows Kobe, but she
- 27:25Speaker 1: is the woman Kobe, and like they are crazy, but
- 27:29Speaker 1: they are so freaking smart at the same time. And
- 27:31Speaker 1: then you have VEG who's the best post player in
- 27:33Speaker 1: the whole world, and you know, last year was super
- 27:36Speaker 1: tough for her family, for her, for us, and just
- 27:39Speaker 1: to kind of have her back and see her smile
- 27:41Speaker 1: and being able to play with one of the posts
- 27:45Speaker 1: the best post players that ever go through women's basketball
- 27:48Speaker 1: has also been super fun. But my relationships with both
- 27:51Speaker 1: of them are so so different. BVG is more chill,
- 27:54Speaker 1: She's more like me. She has a balance of when
- 27:56Speaker 1: she's done with practice, she's done, and then d you know,
- 28:00Speaker 1: he's always thinking. She's always thinking how we can get better,
- 28:02Speaker 1: what she can do to grow her game, and so
- 28:04Speaker 1: just kind of having the balance of both of them
- 28:06Speaker 1: have been fantastic.
- 28:07Speaker 3: If you're comfortable talking about it, I'd be so interested
- 28:10Speaker 3: to know from the inside looking out, like how just
- 28:14Speaker 3: all of I don't need to go into BG's story.
- 28:17Speaker 2: I think everyone's familiar with it now.
- 28:19Speaker 3: But now that you're in season, how that has impacted
- 28:21Speaker 3: your team as you're kind of moving forward here.
- 28:24Speaker 1: It is actually kind of hilarious because we've had her
- 28:28Speaker 1: back for a while, Like we see her every single day,
- 28:31Speaker 1: but every time we play a new team, So we
- 28:33Speaker 1: have eleven teams that we go to their home gym,
- 28:36Speaker 1: and every single time it's a new homecoming for VG
- 28:39Speaker 1: and so it's like hilarious because it's like eleven times
- 28:42Speaker 1: it's over and over, which it is so well deserved,
- 28:44Speaker 1: Like the w fans fully deserved. They got behind her,
- 28:47Speaker 1: they got behind us, but it's just like funny to
- 28:50Speaker 1: us because we're like, oh, we haven't been here, Here
- 28:52Speaker 1: we go again, B And so she gets through standing ovation,
- 28:55Speaker 1: she gets her way, her moment.
- 28:57Speaker 4: Of fame, and it's just hilarious.
- 28:59Speaker 1: But to have her back and just to see the
- 29:02Speaker 1: support that not only the w gave us, but the
- 29:05Speaker 1: NBA men and women's soccer leagues, other sports and then
- 29:09Speaker 1: people who just aren't in sports has been absolutely unbelievable.
- 29:13Speaker 1: And I know that people have their different views about it,
- 29:16Speaker 1: and I get both sides of it, but I think
- 29:19Speaker 1: a lot of people only know ten percent of the
- 29:21Speaker 1: story and what really happened. And I promise you that
- 29:24Speaker 1: if they had a loved one over there in that situation,
- 29:26Speaker 1: that they would want them home regardless too. And so
- 29:28Speaker 1: I think it is a great way to just show
- 29:31Speaker 1: grace and love and to kind of hold your loved
- 29:34Speaker 1: ones closed because there's a lot of stuff that people
- 29:36Speaker 1: just don't know.
- 29:42Speaker 3: Taking a break from today's episode to give some love
- 29:45Speaker 3: to my sponsor at you Can Now. Are you tired
- 29:49Speaker 3: of the spike and crash and gi distress that comes
- 29:52Speaker 3: with sugar based sports nutrition, Well, then it is time
- 29:57Speaker 3: that you give you Can a try. I cannot get
- 30:01Speaker 3: enough of their Edge Energy gel. It is my new
- 30:05Speaker 3: go to for my long run fueling. The strawberry banana
- 30:10Speaker 3: flavor truly brings me back to my childhood. It feels
- 30:14Speaker 3: like I'm eating my favorite yogurt from when I was
- 30:17Speaker 3: Oh my god.
- 30:17Speaker 2: I don't know seven.
- 30:19Speaker 3: Anyway, I am taking one of these every thirty to
- 30:22Speaker 3: forty five minutes on the run and it helps me
- 30:25Speaker 3: stay energized and give my muscles what they need to
- 30:29Speaker 3: keep on moving to keep on performing at their best.
- 30:32Speaker 3: I don't know if you know this, but some of
- 30:34Speaker 3: the top marathon runners in the US, I'm talking Kira Tomatto,
- 30:37Speaker 3: Emily Sissen, Sarah Hall, Emma Bates.

- 31:58Speaker 3: many assumptions, right, But you get on that face to
- 32:01Speaker 3: face level with someone, you never really know what's going
- 32:04Speaker 3: on behind. Maybe it's the screen if you're looking on Instagram,
- 32:08Speaker 3: the TV, if you're watching your game on TV or
- 32:10Speaker 3: whatever media and you're kind of taking a look through.
- 32:13Speaker 3: Now you talked about the AU team, Sophie Cumming hand,
- 32:17Speaker 3: the Sophie Cunningham classic. Can I just like stop you
- 32:20Speaker 3: for a second when you say stuff like that, like
- 32:22Speaker 3: does it shake you?
- 32:23Speaker 2: Are you like, Holy, isn't it insane?
- 32:26Speaker 4: No?
- 32:27Speaker 1: Because it is so like if people actually knew me,
- 32:30Speaker 1: and I promise you my best friends are like, if
- 32:33Speaker 1: these kids just knew you, or like these fans just
- 32:36Speaker 1: knew you, they would think you were the biggest work.
- 32:37Speaker 1: And I'm like I know, and I'm like I don't
- 32:39Speaker 1: try to hide it, like I don't know. And that's
- 32:42Speaker 1: like one of the first things I tell people, like
- 32:43Speaker 1: when they are like starstruck and I that's weird enough,
- 32:47Speaker 1: that's weird to say but when they are, I'm just like,
- 32:50Speaker 1: I promise you I'm not that cool, Like I swear,
- 32:52Speaker 1: you're probably way cooler than me. And so I just
- 32:54Speaker 1: always just try to greet people with hugs and make
- 32:56Speaker 1: them feel comfortable because I didn't have a WNBA player who.
- 33:00Speaker 4: Was given back to us when we were younger.
- 33:02Speaker 1: Like, I just think it's so cool being from the
- 33:04Speaker 1: Midwest and being able to like go back and give
- 33:07Speaker 1: back and show kids that even if it's not basketball,
- 33:09Speaker 1: to like dream big whatever is like setting your soul
- 33:12Speaker 1: on fire, go for it.
- 33:13Speaker 4: And that's my biggest thing for him.
- 33:15Speaker 3: Who did you look up to when you were growing up?
- 33:18Speaker 3: And who would you say? Maybe some of your biggest
- 33:21Speaker 3: mentors are now.
- 33:23Speaker 4: Okay, that is a great question.
- 33:25Speaker 1: I just have always been a super competitive kid, and
- 33:28Speaker 1: so like when people are like who did you look
- 33:30Speaker 1: up to? I was just so dang stubborn. I was like,
- 33:33Speaker 1: no one, because like I'm going to be better than them?
- 33:35Speaker 1: I'm like, why am I like that? Why am I
- 33:38Speaker 1: like that? Like be nicer, be better? But if I
- 33:41Speaker 1: had to pick one, I'd pick me a ham Like
- 33:44Speaker 1: I thought I was going to be a soccer player.
- 33:46Speaker 1: My sister had the opportunity to play dual sport basketball
- 33:50Speaker 1: and college basketball and soccer in college, and I actually
- 33:53Speaker 1: did too, And I always wish that we would have
- 33:55Speaker 1: done it, Like I always think that would have been
- 33:56Speaker 1: so kind of badass with us, but it's too much.
- 33:59Speaker 1: So I think Mayaham was probably a mentor because she
- 34:02Speaker 1: was just a badass woman and she put USA women's
- 34:07Speaker 1: soccer on the map, like she was just like the it.
- 34:09Speaker 1: You know. Now, I think mentorship, I don't have one
- 34:12Speaker 1: specific person, but I have a lot of people from
- 34:17Speaker 1: from different areas, so, like I don't know if that
- 34:20Speaker 1: made sense. So I have like people for sport, I
- 34:22Speaker 1: have people for life. I have people for my finances,
- 34:25Speaker 1: for my mental health, for my diet, for doing outdoorsy stuff,
- 34:28Speaker 1: for doing country stuff or doing city stuff. Like I
- 34:31Speaker 1: just like the more that I get older, I just
- 34:33Speaker 1: think it is so important to not just choose one thing,
- 34:39Speaker 1: like kind of get your hand in everything that you're
- 34:41Speaker 1: passionate about, like try to learn as much as possible.
- 34:44Speaker 1: And I think having a growth mindset in every little
- 34:47Speaker 1: thing just like helps you be a well rounded human.
- 34:50Speaker 1: So I don't know if that's the answer you're looking for, but.
- 34:53Speaker 3: That's kind of I mean what I'm what I'm hearing
- 34:55Speaker 3: you say in this is you went from this place
- 34:57Speaker 3: where you were like I'm not going to look up
- 34:58Speaker 3: to anyone, to now being someone who's so open to
- 35:04Speaker 3: looking up to others and having mentors and asking for advice.
- 35:08Speaker 3: So would you say or can you articulate maybe like
- 35:11Speaker 3: a point where that change for you?
- 35:14Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 35:14Speaker 1: I think in college I was just like super competitive
- 35:17Speaker 1: and like I just wanted to I feel like I
- 35:20Speaker 1: just had so much to prove, but like for who
- 35:23Speaker 1: for what?
- 35:23Speaker 4: Right?
- 35:24Speaker 1: Like I I oh, no one anything like my I
- 35:28Speaker 1: think my mindset shifted when I stopped competing and being
- 35:32Speaker 1: competitive and compare myself to others, And now I just
- 35:36Speaker 1: like compare myself to myself, like I want to outdo me,
- 35:39Speaker 1: like I'm my biggest competition, Like I don't care who
- 35:41Speaker 1: you put in front of me. I know everything about myself.
- 35:44Speaker 1: I know my good and I know my bad, and
- 35:46Speaker 1: I'm my biggest competition. And so I think that's when
- 35:49Speaker 1: my mind shifted, is because I stopped comparing myself to others.
- 35:52Speaker 1: And I don't even know how to explain it, like
- 35:54Speaker 1: I'm my biggest competition and so I think the older
- 35:58Speaker 1: that I'm getting, I want to learn from successful people,
- 36:02Speaker 1: Like I want to learn what they did to get
- 36:03Speaker 1: where they're at. I want to find true happiness, true piece,
- 36:07Speaker 1: true joy, Like I want to genuinely give back and
- 36:09Speaker 1: help people be genuinely happy and successful. And I think
- 36:13Speaker 1: that when you're just stuck in your own way, you're
- 36:16Speaker 1: never going to get there. And so that's why I
- 36:18Speaker 1: try to like learn and listen to as many people
- 36:20Speaker 1: as possible who are successful or where I want to
- 36:23Speaker 1: be one day to see what they did and kind
- 36:25Speaker 1: of take multiple pieces from different people and kind of
- 36:29Speaker 1: take what I want and make it myself.
- 36:31Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure, I really resonate with that. So for
- 36:34Speaker 3: someone who may be listening to this that really struggles
- 36:37Speaker 3: with falling into the comparison trap, as we love to
- 36:40Speaker 3: call it, do you have any advice for them?
- 36:43Speaker 4: Man?
- 36:44Speaker 1: I have been around the most famous people you can know,
- 36:48Speaker 1: people who have a lot of money, people who might
- 36:51Speaker 1: seem to have it all, and they are some of
- 36:53Speaker 1: the most unhappiest humans that you will ever meet. And
- 36:57Speaker 1: it's sad because I had a teammate who is a
- 37:01Speaker 1: very well known teammate and me as a rookie making
- 37:04Speaker 1: forty thousand dollars. She came up to me and she goes,
- 37:07Speaker 1: how are you so happy and full of life? Like
- 37:09Speaker 1: what I'm like, Give me your millions of dollars and
- 37:12Speaker 1: I'll be happy.
- 37:13Speaker 4: Like let's switch lives for a second.
- 37:15Speaker 1: And I just think that there are so many things
- 37:19Speaker 1: you can't put your your heart into two earthly things.
- 37:22Speaker 1: I think for me, I rely a lot on my faith,
- 37:24Speaker 1: and that's where my true joy, in my my identity
- 37:28Speaker 1: truly comes from is God. And I think that when
- 37:30Speaker 1: you try to put your identity into basketball, into money,
- 37:34Speaker 1: into fame, into being prettier or nicer or skinnier than
- 37:38Speaker 1: all these other girls or even guys, you're always gonna
- 37:42Speaker 1: feel empty. It's like chasing the wind. And so for me,
- 37:45Speaker 1: I put my identity in Christ, and I think that's
- 37:47Speaker 1: what really keeps me grounded and what makes me be
- 37:51Speaker 1: able to like truly be my authentic Haffy self.
- 37:55Speaker 2: It's interesting for me that I'm going to ask you
- 37:57Speaker 2: this question.
- 37:57Speaker 3: Be you, guys, I don't have, like us strong relationship
- 38:01Speaker 3: necessarily a strong religious affiliation.
- 38:03Speaker 2: Although I was raised Jewish.
- 38:05Speaker 3: So with being on the road with kind of being
- 38:08Speaker 3: all over the place all the time, how do you
- 38:10Speaker 3: anchor yourself in that religion and what do you do
- 38:12Speaker 3: to kind of keep up with your faith?
- 38:15Speaker 1: Yeah, And I think that's a great point because a
- 38:17Speaker 1: lot of people don't have religion. But I think for me,
- 38:20Speaker 1: it's like love conquers all. And I think that when
- 38:23Speaker 1: you can like truly love, and when you say love,
- 38:26Speaker 1: everyone's always like, oh like love other people, No, love yourself,
- 38:29Speaker 1: like love your flaws, love what makes you unique and
- 38:31Speaker 1: you different because other people will be looking at you
- 38:34Speaker 1: and wish they had that. And so I think for me,
- 38:37Speaker 1: you do travel all over the place, and I've been
- 38:40Speaker 1: here for two days and I'm about to leave for
- 38:42Speaker 1: six more days, right, so, like in in season is
- 38:45Speaker 1: just crazy. But for me, I just try to get
- 38:48Speaker 1: a routine. I take my Bible with me everywhere. Sometimes
- 38:51Speaker 1: I read it, sometimes I don't. But I think the
- 38:53Speaker 1: biggest thing for me is be a light, like shine
- 38:56Speaker 1: your light wherever you are and just try to be
- 38:58Speaker 1: a positive influence because I do think love and you
- 39:02Speaker 1: can just love people where they're at and meet them
- 39:04Speaker 1: where they're at, then that kind of show that helps
- 39:07Speaker 1: them love themselves as well. And so it's hard, especially
- 39:10Speaker 1: when when you are on this crazy schedule like we are.
- 39:14Speaker 1: It is hard to kind of have a routine and
- 39:16Speaker 1: find a community of people that might have the same
- 39:18Speaker 1: beliefs as you or have the same morals as you.
- 39:21Speaker 1: At the end of the day, I think when you
- 39:23Speaker 1: can just love people, that's the biggest thing.
- 39:25Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, when you said, like when you can
- 39:28Speaker 3: get to a place where you just meet yourself with
- 39:29Speaker 3: where you're at, it rings to me or it makes
- 39:32Speaker 3: me think about, you know, coming of age right and
- 39:35Speaker 3: getting to this point where it's so easy during your
- 39:38Speaker 3: teenage years too, Like we were talking about play that
- 39:40Speaker 3: comparison game and judge yourself so harshly. Do you remember
- 39:45Speaker 3: when you personally turn that corner and really just embraced
- 39:49Speaker 3: what it was that you had to offer instead of
- 39:51Speaker 3: judging yourself.
- 39:53Speaker 1: Oh gosh, I'm laughing because I'm such a late blimmer,
- 39:57Speaker 1: Like I promise you, I'm still like trying to g
- 40:00Speaker 1: bow up, you know what the girls says, like blow
- 40:02Speaker 1: up still because oh my god, I'm funny sack, because
- 40:05Speaker 1: I'm still like trying to like become the you know,
- 40:09Speaker 1: the best version of yourself.
- 40:10Speaker 4: Whatever.
- 40:12Speaker 1: But I think in high school, we just had a
- 40:14Speaker 1: good group of boys and girls that there wasn't a
- 40:18Speaker 1: lot of comparison. But you do find yourself in those
- 40:21Speaker 1: times of as an athlete and in high school when
- 40:25Speaker 1: like you're going through the weird puberty age, like you
- 40:28Speaker 1: you just look weird, right, Like everyone goes through it
- 40:31Speaker 1: and it's just like part of life. But I did
- 40:33Speaker 1: find myself sometimes like, man, like I wish I was skinnier,
- 40:37Speaker 1: Like why isn't my hair longer, thicker? Like why why
- 40:40Speaker 1: is her skin way clearer than mine?
- 40:42Speaker 4: You know what I mean.
- 40:43Speaker 1: Like, you do find yourself going through those things, and
- 40:46Speaker 1: it's like, wait a second, if I was that petite
- 40:48Speaker 1: or if I was that skinny, I'd be get my
- 40:51Speaker 1: butt kicked on the basketball court, like I would not
- 40:53Speaker 1: be who I was created to be. And so I
- 40:56Speaker 1: think for me, it's just finding the strength within yourself
- 40:59Speaker 1: and really like coming to terms and like enjoying who
- 41:02Speaker 1: you are and like whatever makes you weird or different
- 41:05Speaker 1: from everyone else, like that's what's cool, That's what attracts
- 41:08Speaker 1: people to you. And so I think just like embracing
- 41:11Speaker 1: that and being confident and finding a really small, good
- 41:14Speaker 1: group of people to like, love you and support you
- 41:16Speaker 1: regardless is huge.
- 41:19Speaker 4: You're too huge.
- 41:21Speaker 3: Aside from the fact that you say you're still in
- 41:24Speaker 3: your glow up era, although I would say like you
- 41:27Speaker 3: are glowing, what else makes you unique? Instellar and different
- 41:32Speaker 3: from everybody else?
- 41:34Speaker 1: Oh? Man, I don't know if I would use all
- 41:37Speaker 1: those terms, but I just don't try to fit in anymore.
- 41:41Speaker 1: And I think that's so important for I think young
- 41:45Speaker 1: guys to hear, because I think young athletes in general,
- 41:48Speaker 1: male or female, you miss out on a lot of
- 41:51Speaker 1: a lot of stuff. You miss out on prom you
- 41:54Speaker 1: missed out on school dances. You don't maybe get to
- 41:57Speaker 1: go hang out or go to the party or whatever
- 42:01Speaker 1: you want to call it with all your people because
- 42:03Speaker 1: you have games or I remember au ball, I wasn't
- 42:06Speaker 1: home all summer. I was home for three days my
- 42:09Speaker 1: junior year of summer. So you missed out on a bunch.
- 42:13Speaker 1: But with great things comes with great sacrifice. And I
- 42:16Speaker 1: think that that's something that I just had to like
- 42:18Speaker 1: hang my hat on. Is like I'm putting in the
- 42:20Speaker 1: work for something greater and I might not see the
- 42:22Speaker 1: benefits of it now, but in six years when I'm
- 42:25Speaker 1: the WNBA and I'm on ESPN and I get to
- 42:28Speaker 1: do these cool things, I'll know that it's worth it.
- 42:30Speaker 1: And so for me, sometimes you have to think big
- 42:34Speaker 1: picture and then sometimes you have to think small picture.
- 42:36Speaker 4: And so.
- 42:38Speaker 1: I don't know, I just try not to fit anymore.
- 42:40Speaker 1: I think when I laugh at on the court, I
- 42:43Speaker 1: smile a lot on the court. I'm feisty on the court,
- 42:45Speaker 1: and sometimes that gets me in trouble. But that's what
- 42:48Speaker 1: makes me me, and that's why the fans gather around me.
- 42:51Speaker 1: That's why I love the fans, because they're all a
- 42:53Speaker 1: lot more like than the things.
- 42:54Speaker 3: So what would you say one of the most difficult
- 42:57Speaker 3: sacrifices you've had to make in your come up in
- 43:01Speaker 3: sport has been.
- 43:04Speaker 1: A thousand thousand percent being away from my family and friends.
- 43:08Speaker 4: Like I get to.
- 43:10Speaker 1: Do really cool things, you know, you get to play
- 43:13Speaker 1: in all these cool stadiums, you get to go to
- 43:15Speaker 1: these cool cities, you get invited to full events. Yet
- 43:19Speaker 1: you don't get to ever have your best friends coming
- 43:22Speaker 1: along with you. You don't get to have your parents come
- 43:24Speaker 1: along with you. And I'm someone who I got really
- 43:27Speaker 1: blessed with a great family and a really good group
- 43:29Speaker 1: of friends. And I missed them like crazy, and so
- 43:32Speaker 1: if I could move all them out here, it would
- 43:34Speaker 1: be a million times better because I just know that
- 43:36Speaker 1: people would out here in Phoenix would fall in love
- 43:39Speaker 1: with my family friends, just kind of how they fell
- 43:40Speaker 1: in love with me. But I think just being away
- 43:43Speaker 1: from home and missing out on weddings, missing out on
- 43:47Speaker 1: your close friends having kids, missing out on family dinners,
- 43:51Speaker 1: friends hanging out, going to the lake like it is
- 43:54Speaker 1: the small things and big things that it kind of sucks.
- 43:58Speaker 1: But then again, you know you can't live this lifestyle forever,
- 44:01Speaker 1: so you have to embrace it and put your best
- 44:03Speaker 1: foot forward.
- 44:03Speaker 3: And put your best foot forward. How often would you
- 44:05Speaker 3: say that you get back to where you grew up.
- 44:09Speaker 1: As much as possible. And so if I have a
- 44:11Speaker 1: couple of days off, I'm going back home. And sometimes
- 44:14Speaker 1: I wish I would go to Cabo and just hang out,
- 44:16Speaker 1: But I know that going back home and see my
- 44:19Speaker 1: friends and family is going to fill my cup up
- 44:21Speaker 1: a lot more than you know, probably tequila on the beach.
- 44:26Speaker 3: Heard heard, Yeah, I mean, speaking of filling up your cup.
- 44:30Speaker 2: What else do you do to take care of Sophie?
- 44:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I make sure I know I really do live
- 44:39Speaker 1: a very kind of simple life, like to fill my
- 44:42Speaker 1: cup up and to make sure I'm in a good
- 44:43Speaker 1: mental zone. I need to get to the pool, I
- 44:45Speaker 1: need to get a tan, I need to maybe go
- 44:48Speaker 1: to the hair slan make sure my hair is a
- 44:49Speaker 1: little blonder, because if you look good, you play good.
- 44:52Speaker 1: And I do need to get my nails done. Already
- 44:54Speaker 1: showed you that. But outside of that, I think one
- 44:58Speaker 1: of the other things that really makes me feel good
- 45:02Speaker 1: is helping out with the Ronald McDonald House, helping out
- 45:06Speaker 1: with the Boys and Girls Club, like giving back the
- 45:09Speaker 1: Children's Hospital is a huge, big thing that I love
- 45:12Speaker 1: to do. And it's just like give to others that
- 45:15Speaker 1: maybe things that they won't be able to do when
- 45:17Speaker 1: they're older because of difficulties that they had to go
- 45:20Speaker 1: through that I never got to go through or had
- 45:22Speaker 1: to go through, I should say. And so I think
- 45:24Speaker 1: giving back is really what helps my heart grow fonder
- 45:29Speaker 1: and helps me really enjoy where I'm at, because sometimes
- 45:32Speaker 1: it is easy to complain. It's easy to kind of
- 45:34Speaker 1: get caught up in the grind. It's easy to you know,
- 45:38Speaker 1: kind of like sometimes because you do get you do
- 45:41Speaker 1: miss out on so much especially during the summertime and
- 45:43Speaker 1: you get a lot of fomo. It's like, what can
- 45:45Speaker 1: I do to help someone else feel good? And then
- 45:48Speaker 1: that's kind of what helps me feel good.
- 45:49Speaker 3: Yeah, and especially in a sport or so often, like
- 45:52Speaker 3: y'all are traveling all over the place and even in
- 45:54Speaker 3: the off season going overseas, so you know, it's something
- 45:58Speaker 3: that so many athletes, regardless of order, are navigating all
- 46:01Speaker 3: the time.
- 46:03Speaker 1: Absolutely, and I think that's something a lot of people
- 46:05Speaker 1: don't know, is WNBA players. We're here from you know,
- 46:10Speaker 1: early May until mid October, and then you're shipped off overseas.
- 46:14Speaker 1: You're in Turkey, used to be Russia, anywhere in Europe
- 46:18Speaker 1: and Australia and you're there for solid seven months. And
- 46:21Speaker 1: so that's where we make our money. That's where it's crazy,
- 46:25Speaker 1: because the WNBA is like the most elite level basketball,
- 46:27Speaker 1: but you get paid the worst and so that's why
- 46:29Speaker 1: you have to go overseas in order to know kind
- 46:32Speaker 1: of to make your money.
- 46:33Speaker 2: How has that experience been for you traveling overseas?
- 46:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I am the wrong person to ask those wildvan
- 46:42Speaker 1: it is what it is. I think my rookie year,
- 46:45Speaker 1: I went over to Australia, absolutely fantastic, loved it, loved
- 46:49Speaker 1: the culture. My sister actually came with me. We had
- 46:52Speaker 1: like the time of our lives. And then COVID happened,
- 46:57Speaker 1: and then my third year I went over to France
- 47:00Speaker 1: how to love the girls, how a good experience got injured,
- 47:04Speaker 1: And once you get injured over there, they don't want
- 47:07Speaker 1: anything to do with yet. And so my good experience
- 47:09Speaker 1: turned bad really quick. And then after that I was
- 47:13Speaker 1: like done, Like I just it just wasn't my thing.
- 47:17Speaker 1: I don't know, I just feel like I wanted to train.
- 47:19Speaker 1: I wanted to be home. My grandparents are getting older,
- 47:22Speaker 1: you know, and they have a huge family farm, and
- 47:24Speaker 1: so I wanted to help out there as much as possible.
- 47:27Speaker 1: And then last year, when I just kind of hurt
- 47:30Speaker 1: my other elbow, I just decided to stay out here
- 47:32Speaker 1: in Arizona, and I kind of got into broadcasting and
- 47:35Speaker 1: I absolutely loved it, and so I'm going to probably
- 47:37Speaker 1: be doing that and training the off season from here
- 47:40Speaker 1: on out.
- 47:41Speaker 2: I love that. I love that.
- 47:42Speaker 3: Just for context, can you give us some examples of
- 47:45Speaker 3: things that you are doing on the farm.
- 47:49Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, girl, I should have brought you out
- 47:52Speaker 1: there and we could have done it firsthand. But okay,
- 47:56Speaker 1: so it depends on the season. So we have planting
- 48:01Speaker 1: season and harvesting season and so planting season like you're
- 48:04Speaker 1: out in the field until like six am, excuse me,
- 48:08Speaker 1: six am until you know, probably around seven whenever it
- 48:11Speaker 1: gets dark.
- 48:12Speaker 4: So not bad.
- 48:13Speaker 1: But my first year like legit farming farming was during COVID,
- 48:18Speaker 1: and like we just to go out there just like
- 48:20Speaker 1: for you know, gigs and whatnot and not like really
- 48:23Speaker 1: doing anything. Like, oh, we were on the farm helping
- 48:25Speaker 1: our pawpall, but during COVID we were actually like farming
- 48:28Speaker 1: and we had to get up at like five am
- 48:30Speaker 1: and to not go to sleep until one am. And
- 48:33Speaker 1: my grandpa is like seventy nine years old doing this,
- 48:36Speaker 1: you know, since he was six years old, and I'm like,
- 48:38Speaker 1: I don't know, he's way stronger than me, just like
- 48:41Speaker 1: he just has a I don't know. Farmers are just
- 48:43Speaker 1: smart because they have to know a little bit about
- 48:46Speaker 1: the economy, the weather, plant like all that type of stuff.
- 48:49Speaker 1: And I just I just didn't realize how hard it was.
- 48:52Speaker 1: And I will never be a farmer again.
- 48:56Speaker 3: Just a little insight into what farming looks like for
- 48:59Speaker 3: the wmbas so Vahr. Well, right now, I know we
- 49:05Speaker 3: talked a little bit about social media and Instagram before.
- 49:08Speaker 3: You've got something like one hundred and eighteen thousand followers
- 49:12Speaker 3: on Instagram. When they come to your page, they see
- 49:15Speaker 3: a WNBA player, they see an Adidas athlete. What you
- 49:20Speaker 3: look in the mirror? What is it that you see
- 49:22Speaker 3: looking back at you?
- 49:25Speaker 4: I love I love that question.
- 49:27Speaker 1: When I look at myself in the mirror, I'm proud
- 49:30Speaker 1: of everything I've been through, but I'm not satisfied like
- 49:33Speaker 1: I want to. I just have so many goals that
- 49:35Speaker 1: I haven't accomplished. But I'm also just so grateful and
- 49:38Speaker 1: so happy with where I'm at. And then, like I said,
- 49:41Speaker 1: it's not always easy, and there's hard days. There's things
- 49:44Speaker 1: that just don't go my way. I don't feel like
- 49:46Speaker 1: it's fair. But at the end of the day, I'm
- 49:48Speaker 1: very blessed, I'm very grateful, and I'm just here to
- 49:51Speaker 1: give back. And so I hope when people come to
- 49:53Speaker 1: my page they feel a sense of happiness, they feel
- 49:55Speaker 1: like they belong there.
- 49:56Speaker 4: When I look in the mirror.
- 49:58Speaker 1: I see a lot of growth, see where I want
- 50:00Speaker 1: to be but I'm content but not satisfied. And so
- 50:04Speaker 1: I don't know. Again, I'm a hot mess. I see
- 50:06Speaker 1: a whole bunch of stuff.
- 50:08Speaker 2: Content but not satisfied.
- 50:09Speaker 3: You know, that's the second time in our conversation today
- 50:12Speaker 3: that you said I have a lot of goals.
- 50:15Speaker 2: Do you care to elaborate.
- 50:20Speaker 4: I'll give you one.
- 50:21Speaker 2: I don't have to give away all the secrets. It's cool.
- 50:23Speaker 1: No, No, There's just been something in my gut ever
- 50:26Speaker 1: since I was a young girl that I want to
- 50:28Speaker 1: be an Olympian, Like I just want to be an Olympian,
- 50:31Speaker 1: and so that is a main goal of mine. I
- 50:33Speaker 1: don't care if it's three v three. I don't care
- 50:35Speaker 1: if it's five on five, like, I don't care what
- 50:38Speaker 1: it is. But I want a gold medal. And so
- 50:40Speaker 1: that is a goal, and you best believe I'm going
- 50:43Speaker 1: to be working my tail off until I get it.
- 50:45Speaker 2: I love that. I love that.
- 50:47Speaker 3: You know, it's one of those things that you put
- 50:49Speaker 3: it into the universe, and the universe conspires to work
- 50:53Speaker 3: with you to get you to where you want to be.
- 50:54Speaker 3: So I doubt that's the first time you've said that
- 50:57Speaker 3: out loud. But now all of these people that are listening,
- 51:00Speaker 3: are going to help hold you accountable, and they're going
- 51:02Speaker 3: to want it for you as well.
- 51:04Speaker 1: Okay, but if I don't, then you guys can just
- 51:06Speaker 1: meet me at the pool and we can hang out
- 51:07Speaker 1: and we can watch it.
- 51:08Speaker 3: So we're going to Arizona. Yeah, perfect. I already asked you,
- 51:14Speaker 3: like what excites you right now? But what else are
- 51:17Speaker 3: you looking forward to in the immediate future besides working
- 51:19Speaker 3: your tail off to get maybe to Paris or who knows,
- 51:22Speaker 3: La twenty twenty eight.
- 51:23Speaker 1: Man, I think getting my feet a little bit more
- 51:26Speaker 1: wet in the broadcasting industry. I think I have a
- 51:29Speaker 1: great opportunity here with the Suns. They have a stacked
- 51:32Speaker 1: roster this year, and I think it's going to be
- 51:33Speaker 1: a lot of fun, a lot of hype around the
- 51:35Speaker 1: valley out here in Arizona. I just think, get my
- 51:38Speaker 1: feet wet in industries that I think I'll want to
- 51:40Speaker 1: do when I'm done playing basketball, which is another you know,
- 51:43Speaker 1: fifty years right, Like, I don't want to retire anytime soon,
- 51:46Speaker 1: but I do think the broadcasting area is kind of
- 51:50Speaker 1: where I want to go, and so just trying to
- 51:52Speaker 1: get better at that. It's a lot harder than it looks.
- 51:54Speaker 1: And to be honest, I tried starting a podcast and
- 51:56Speaker 1: that's hard too, Like being flowy and and your questions
- 52:00Speaker 1: on par and doing all that, Like you do a
- 52:03Speaker 1: fantastic job, and it's a lot harder than people think.
- 52:05Speaker 2: It is, so so sweet.
- 52:06Speaker 4: Steps to you, Sis, thank you.
- 52:08Speaker 1: Well.
- 52:08Speaker 3: You and I can jam about podcasting whatever you want.
- 52:10Speaker 3: We'll have to have a one on one. I'm here
- 52:12Speaker 3: to help, I'm here to mentor you.
- 52:13Speaker 2: Sophie, there a GOALSI.
- 52:17Speaker 3: All right, girl, Well, right now you have an opportunity
- 52:20Speaker 3: to offer yourself a piece of advice. Let's go back.
- 52:23Speaker 3: You talked about that rut that you were in not
- 52:25Speaker 3: all that long ago, you knowing what you know. Now
- 52:28Speaker 3: you have an opportunity to offer yourself a piece of advice.
- 52:31Speaker 3: Going through a period where you're just not satisfied with
- 52:35Speaker 3: the work that you're putting out. What do you tell
- 52:38Speaker 3: yourself during that hurdle moment?
- 52:41Speaker 1: For me, I'm just stubborn and I don't have patience,
- 52:44Speaker 1: and that's something that I know I need to work on,
- 52:46Speaker 1: Like everyone knows that. But for me, even though I'm
- 52:49Speaker 1: frustrated and annoyed, my piece of advice is still put
- 52:53Speaker 1: in the work, even if the work is ugly, even
- 52:55Speaker 1: if you know you're in the gym and you're not
- 52:57Speaker 1: making your shots, at least you're in there at least
- 53:00Speaker 1: like putting in the work. And I do feel like
- 53:02Speaker 1: that if you are the hardest worker and you genuinely
- 53:07Speaker 1: want to get better and put in that work. It's
- 53:10Speaker 1: not always fun, but you have to then the ball
- 53:13Speaker 1: won't lie and you're not gonna be stuck in a
- 53:15Speaker 1: rep forever. And I think that's the biggest advice that
- 53:17Speaker 1: they gave me.
- 53:18Speaker 4: At the time.
- 53:18Speaker 1: They were like, my mentors were like laughing at me
- 53:20Speaker 1: because I knew how frustrated and they're like, girl, this
- 53:23Speaker 1: happens to everyone. Like I'm like, I'm gonna like stay
- 53:26Speaker 1: like this for like ever because I'm just drama, you know.
- 53:29Speaker 1: And they're like, no, like this happens to everyone. Just
- 53:31Speaker 1: keep putting in the work, like you're fine. It's not
- 53:33Speaker 1: gonna last forever. And I think that's the biggest piece
- 53:36Speaker 1: of advice is don't get too high.
- 53:37Speaker 3: Don't get too high, don't get too low. Sophie Cunningha'm
- 53:40Speaker 3: so happy that we were able to make this happen.
- 53:42Speaker 3: A huge sponsor a huge thank you to your sponsor
- 53:45Speaker 3: at Quest for connecting us. For those of the hurdlers,
- 53:47Speaker 3: that's what I call my audience that don't follow along
- 53:50Speaker 3: with you just yet.
- 53:52Speaker 2: How do they keep up with you? How do they
- 53:53Speaker 2: follow along with you? Give us your details?
- 53:56Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, Well, you can go to my end Instagram,
- 54:00Speaker 1: you can go to my TikTok. I promise you that
