- 0:21Let it begin. Let it begin. No. No. No? Okay. Hi, Noah. Noah! Noah.
- 0:30Happy birthday Noah! And it's a little busy. Look at this.
- 0:37Noah. This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it.
- 0:42This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it.
- 0:46This little light of.
- 0:49I'm gonna let it. Let it.
- 0:53Let it. Let it.
- 0:57Yeah! Daddy, I'm so excited, but I have one question. What's your question?
- 1:03I'm going to be a pastor or a minister.
- 1:06Good question. I don't know, but it is all in God's hands.
- 1:09Good morning. You're listening to Have Faith, Let Begin. And it starts right now.
- 1:15Good morning, everyone. And welcome to the July 1st edition of Have Faith, Let It Begin.
- 1:22My name is Angel. I just got done watching the Tuesday episode.
- 1:26The beat of hope that is from Clinton Knapp. If you haven't had a chance to
- 1:29listen to that podcast, you know, Clinton, he was on our personal testimonies.
- 1:34We'll be doing those again eventually as we'll run, you know,
- 1:37run through these holiday weeks. But yeah, beat of hope is on fire.
- 1:40They're doing a great job. And if you haven't subscribed, you haven't liked
- 1:44them, please do so immediately.
- 1:46Also the crock podcast is back with a new episode this Sunday at 9am.
- 1:51That's right. Citizens reunited to overcome cancer with Dr. Ian Ellie,
- 1:55the host. I'm telling you, you don't want to miss it.
- 1:58All right, guys. So here's the deal. We are just starting off on July 1st, right?
- 2:03And we're now getting to the point of firework, 4th of July.
- 2:08What do you want to do for your 4th of July week? What are you doing for the 4th of July weekend?
- 2:13You know, when I was in my 20s living in Providence, Rhode Island,
- 2:17we used to go to these cookouts and they're very, very big Boston Red Sox fans.
- 2:22And we'd go there and the the key ingredient or the key factor that you have
- 2:28to have when you arrive at these cookouts is you have to bring a Yankee hat.
- 2:33And the reason why is that when they do the bonfire, they throw the Yankee hats in the bonfire.
- 2:38Yeah. And the funny thing about it is you're not supposed to touch the Yankee hat.
- 2:42They were superstitious. If you touch the Yankee hat with your bare hands,
- 2:46then you could declare the Red Sox season a failure.
- 2:49So you go in there with gloves. They pull them out of whatever bags they brought it in.
- 2:53Some people bought it right from the store. They told the person to put in the
- 2:57bag and they just brought it and they dumped the, the, you know,
- 3:00the hat tag and all right in the bonfire.
- 3:04As a Mets fan, I thought it was kind of funny, but you know,
- 3:06Hey, that's, that's, that's what they wanted to do.
- 3:09So that's one of my memories of the 4th of July that I thought was kind of funny.
- 3:14Another great thing is it's my father's birthday. You know, he'll be 81 years old.
- 3:18Dad, I'm so happy that you're here with us and that you've come so far over
- 3:22all these last crazy year that we've had.
- 3:26So for me, this will be the first time, unfortunately, I'm not going to be with
- 3:29my dad as original plans were that he was going to be in Florida.
- 3:33So I booked a planned trip to be somewhere else.
- 3:38But I will be celebrating his birthday either today or tomorrow before we venture
- 3:43off our daily excursions.
- 3:45We do daily trips. So we go away and then we come back.
- 3:48We go away and we come back all on the same day. We don't like to leave our
- 3:51dog unattended since he will be watched by our fellow dog whisperer, Paula.
- 3:56Yeah. So we don't like to get away. We like to come back and do day trips.
- 4:02It's a very simple episode. What do you plan on doing for your 4th of July?
- 4:06What is your favorite memory of 4th of July?
- 4:10I would like you to share that with us so that tomorrow's episode I can share
- 4:14with the audience and share with the Have Faith, Let It Begin family.
- 4:17But the message is clear.
- 4:19As you travel, as you get to your next destination, always remember that there
- 4:24are other people on the road.
- 4:25If you're going to drink, please don't drive. If you're going to be irresponsible,
- 4:32do it in a place where it is controlled.
- 4:35If you're going to feel like you're being immature, try your very best not to
- 4:40light a firecracker in your hand.
- 4:42Let the professionals do it. And most importantly, spend time with your family.
- 4:48Spend time with your loved ones.
- 4:51Enjoy every second that you have with them because you just don't know what
- 4:55tomorrow will bring. But what will happen is you'll have another great memory,
- 5:01another opportunity for us to get together.
- 5:03And I leave you with another crazy story talking about firecrackers and my brother being the way he is.
- 5:11I was not there for this, but I know the story. My father's birthday,
- 5:15as you know, was on 4th of July.
- 5:17Oh, so it's on 4th of July. And my brother thought it'd be a funny gag to switch
- 5:22one of the candles one year with a firecracker.
- 5:26So what typically happens is we'll light the
- 5:28cake before anybody gets into the room this kind
- 5:31of backfired because the cake was put on the picnic table
- 5:34and they lit the candle prematurely
- 5:37and you know what happened boom cake
- 5:41everywhere cake all over anyone but you know in that moment it was like shock
- 5:48and then laughter because of course nobody got hurt it was just a fond memory
- 5:53yeah So I don't encourage anyone to do that because that could have ended really badly.
- 5:59So I'm telling the story because it didn't.
- 6:02Hopefully it does not give anybody any ideas, but it was a moment that,
- 6:06you know, that my family said was pretty funny.
- 6:09So let's pray together and let's pray for those that are traveling and let's
- 6:13pray for our good friend, Kyle, who stays, who's still in the hospital and trying
- 6:17to get him home as well. Let's do that together. Let's pray.
- 6:24Heavenly Father, we thank you so much for all that you give us.
- 6:27Lord, we pray that everyone that is traveling, that they arrive to their destinations safely.
- 6:36As I drove into work this morning, my goodness, I was in the safety lane,
- 6:42as we call it, and I was getting high-beamed.
- 6:45Actually, not high-beamed. I was getting, what's that expression?
- 6:50When they're riding your back. Oh my God, tailgating.
- 6:57And people are just clearly in a rush.
- 7:01Let's not rush. Let's get to our destinations respectfully. Let's plan accordingly.
- 7:07And let's be on the lookout for all the crazy drivers that are out there.
- 7:12May each and every one of you have an amazing 4th of July.
- 7:16We are back tomorrow with another episode, but may your July 1st and our month
- 7:20of July be filled with happiness, joy, love, and compassion.
- 7:27And we leave you with the words that our Heavenly Father taught us.
- 7:31As Jesus says, pray to me by praying this prayer.
- 7:35Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
- 7:39Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
- 7:46Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.
- 7:53Lead us not into temptation, deliver us from evil.
- 7:57For yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever and ever.
- 8:03In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
- 8:06May God be with you. May he shine his light upon you and grant each and every
- 8:09single one of you peace on earth. And never forget, have faith,
- 8:15let it begin. Happy July 1st everyone.
- 8:21Music.
