  Don Armstrong: Yes, sir.
• 0:52
Don Armstrong: When you were in school.
• 0:55
  Jeff Dziekan: Oof.
• 0:56
Don Armstrong: I know it was a long, long time ago, and you probably don't remember, but I want you to kind of go back.
• 1:01
Jeff Dziekan: Specifically third grade the fourth time.
• 1:03
Don Armstrong: Yeah, yeah, that one.
• 1:04
Don Armstrong: Third grade, and it's the end of the day.
• 1:07
  Don Armstrong: It's 329.
• 1:09
  Don Armstrong: Okay?
• 1:10
Don Armstrong: School's out at 3.30.
• 1:12
Don Armstrong: Were you that kid that I can remember going, oh teacher, I had one more thing before we go home for the day.
• 1:20
Don Armstrong: Were you that guy that all of the class wanted to get up and kill?
• 1:26
Mike Marrs: I'm holding the door open for everybody else, is what I'm doing.
• 1:30
  Mike Marrs: Yeah.
• 1:30
  Don Armstrong: Yeah.
• 1:31
Don Armstrong: And then over there at the door going, oh teacher, oh, I have one more question.
• 1:36
Jeff Dziekan: We're just we're just he's picking on you, Mike.
• 1:39
Jeff Dziekan: He's picking on you, buddy.
• 1:41
  Don Armstrong: That's all.
• 1:42
  Jeff Dziekan: He's speechless.
• 1:43
Jeff Dziekan: We left him speechless.
• 1:44
Don Armstrong: And he's got it, he's got his head tilted to one side, like what did I do?
• 1:49
Mike Marrs: No, I know, I know what you're talking about.
• 1:51
Mike Marrs: I'm just not gonna respond in public like this.
• 1:56
Don Armstrong: But I noticed that you're not laughing.
• 1:58
  Jeff Dziekan: I know.
• 1:59
Jeff Dziekan: Hey, we all been there.
• 2:02
Jeff Dziekan: We used to do that in meetings.
• 2:14
  Jeff Dziekan: Crazy.
• 2:15
  Jeff Dziekan: Anyways, fun times.
• 2:19
Jeff Dziekan: Mike was still rubbing his chin.
• 2:21
Don Armstrong: He wants to kill me, I think.
• 2:22
Don Armstrong: I didn't I didn't know that it would upset him that bad.
• 2:26
Don Armstrong: Uh okay, so we're gonna do some recalls so everybody can settle down.
• 2:30
Don Armstrong: Um incorrect front wheel hub bolts.
• 2:37
Don Armstrong: That's specifically the front wheel hub bolts.
• 2:39
  Don Armstrong: Okay, I know.
• 2:40
Don Armstrong: Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Suburban 1500, Tahoe, UConn, UConn XL for 25 and 26.
• 2:49
Don Armstrong: It's being recalled for the bolts.
• 2:52
  Mike Marrs: I I don't understand.
• 2:53
Mike Marrs: A bolt screws in, you bolt it in to something, or you put a nut on the end of it, how do you do that on a car and send it out the assembly line?
• 3:03
Don Armstrong: Well, I don't know either, because you know, you would think that all of that was inspected.
• 3:08
Don Armstrong: Well, you see it wouldn't work.
• 3:11
Mike Marrs: How do you if it doesn't matter?
• 3:12
Don Armstrong: Well, we're not talking about the nut, it'd be the bolts, so those are those are pressed in usually.
• 3:18
Don Armstrong: So you're talking about a wheel stud, the stud for the wheel.
• 3:20
  Mike Marrs: Well no.
• 3:22
Don Armstrong: Well, yes, I don't know.
• 3:24
Don Armstrong: That's well, that's yes, that's what but here in this, they're calling it an incorrect front wheel hub bolts.
• 3:31
Don Armstrong: Those would be the bolts that are pressed into the rotor of the front brake.
• 3:35
  Don Armstrong: They're pressed in.
• 3:36
  Jeff Dziekan: Yeah.
• 3:36
  Don Armstrong: Okay.
• 3:37
Don Armstrong: Well, what would make them incorrect?
• 3:40
Don Armstrong: The wrong size, or if the nut screwed on it okay, you would think it would be the length that would be the issue.
• 3:47
Jeff Dziekan: It could be, but then you would notice that right off when you're putting it on.
• 3:50
Jeff Dziekan: Or maybe because they're pressed in.
• 3:51
Jeff Dziekan: Is it the right uh PSI, the right pressure going on?
• 3:55
Don Armstrong: You're giving it way too much thought, but um, whatever.
• 3:57
Mike Marrs: Well, just confusing, but go ahead.
• 3:59
Mike Marrs: Just take it out.
• 4:00
  Mike Marrs: I don't own a cat.
• 4:00
Mike Marrs: I don't own an escalate, so it matters not to me.
• 4:03
Don Armstrong: Uh vehicle roll away risk, Ford Escape 2026, and the Lincoln Corsair roll away risk.
• 4:11
Don Armstrong: Martha, did I just see the car leave the driveway and run down the hill?
• 4:16
  Don Armstrong: Yeah.
• 4:17
Don Armstrong: Over there at Mars House, right in front.
• 4:19
  Don Armstrong: We're visiting Mars.
• 4:20
Mike Marrs: We're right by the window.
• 4:21
Don Armstrong: Yeah, and we're is somebody driving that?
• 4:24
Don Armstrong: Wait, there's nobody there.
• 4:25
Jeff Dziekan: So is that your car going down the street?
• 4:27
  Jeff Dziekan: Yeah, exactly.
• 4:28
Jeff Dziekan: The Ford Escape in the what?
• 4:29
  Don Armstrong: Corsair.
• 4:30
  Don Armstrong: The LinkedIn Corsair.
• 4:32
  Don Armstrong: Yeah.
• 4:33
Don Armstrong: They go down the same assembly line.
• 4:34
  Don Armstrong: Yeah.
• 4:35
  Don Armstrong: Uh Ford Bronco.
• 4:37
  Jeff Dziekan: Uh-oh.
• 4:38
Don Armstrong: For 21 and 22.
• 4:40
Don Armstrong: Now, this is a problem that they've recalled before.
• 4:42
Don Armstrong: The hard top may crack and detach.
• 4:44
  Don Armstrong: Oh.
• 4:44
Don Armstrong: They've had problems with these tops on these Broncos.
• 4:48
Don Armstrong: Now, not the Bronco sport, but the Bronco, the one that comes off.
• 4:51
  Don Armstrong: Right.
• 4:52
Don Armstrong: And I remember the the first recall was the fact that the color was fading.
• 4:56
Jeff Dziekan: The gel coat or whatever they call that.
• 4:58
  Jeff Dziekan: Yeah.
• 4:58
Don Armstrong: I I don't know how they did it, but whatever.
• 5:00
Jeff Dziekan: I'm interested to think that what parts of the country?
• 5:03
Jeff Dziekan: Is it colder winter areas?
• 5:05
Jeff Dziekan: Is it uh areas where it can delaminate like in Arizona?
• 5:08
Jeff Dziekan: I mean, that's they don't give that information.
• 5:13
  Don Armstrong: Sunbaked.
• 5:14
Don Armstrong: They've had nothing but problems with those tops.
• 5:16
Don Armstrong: Uh seatbelt warning system malfunction.
• 5:19
Don Armstrong: Land Rover, Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, and Range Rover V Lar for 2026.
• 5:25
Jeff Dziekan: Is that the electric one?
• 5:26
  Jeff Dziekan: The VLR?
• 5:27
Don Armstrong: I couldn't tell you.
• 5:28
  Don Armstrong: I don't know.
• 5:28
Don Armstrong: I'm not I'm not up to my up to Parl.
• 5:31
Jeff Dziekan: Yeah, you're up to here with your electric, hey.
• 5:33
  Jeff Dziekan: Yeah.
• 5:33
  Don Armstrong: Hey.
• 5:34
Don Armstrong: Rear view camera may display distorted or blank image.
• 5:38
Don Armstrong: Wouldn't it be funny if they put some naked woman in there?
• 5:41
  Don Armstrong: Yeah.
• 5:41
Jeff Dziekan: And all of a sudden, clown pictures or something.
• 5:44
  Don Armstrong: Something, yeah.
• 5:45
Jeff Dziekan: Well, people do that.
• 5:46
Jeff Dziekan: They put pictures behind it, and then when their wives or girlfriends put it in reverse, that scary picture pops up.
• 5:51
Jeff Dziekan: Is that what it is?
• 5:52
Don Armstrong: Well, anyway, the rear view camera may display a distorted or blank image.
• 5:56
Don Armstrong: Uh Acura ZDX and Honda Prologue, 24 to 25 model years.
• 6:01
Don Armstrong: Airbag inflator may rupture.
• 6:03
  Don Armstrong: That's not good.
• 6:04
Don Armstrong: Hyundai Elntra and Elantra GT 2015 to 2016.
• 6:08
Don Armstrong: And the Hyundai Ellantra hybrid, 24 to 26.
• 6:12
Don Armstrong: Hybrid power control unit may overheat.
• 6:15
Don Armstrong: They didn't say it would catch fire, but it can overheat.
• 6:17
  Jeff Dziekan: Get pretty warm.
• 6:18
Don Armstrong: Loose rear suspension fasteners in the Hyundai Ionic 5 and Ionic 9 for 25 and 26 model years.
• 6:26
Don Armstrong: Here's a bunch more.
• 6:27
Don Armstrong: Forward collision avoidance system may activate the brakes unexpectedly.
• 6:32
Jeff Dziekan: Oh, that's not good.
• 6:34
  Don Armstrong: No.
• 6:34
Don Armstrong: Mars, so you're doing 70 on your uh freeway entrance ramp test that you that you're well well known for, and all of a sudden the brakes go, you're not going any further.
• 6:47
  Don Armstrong: Uh-huh.
• 6:48
Don Armstrong: You hope and pray that nobody is behind you.
• 6:51
  Jeff Dziekan: Exactly.
• 6:52
Jeff Dziekan: Now, you have that I have that feature where you back up and there's a the sensor, the seat vibrates and all that if you're getting close to something or the lake.
• 6:59
  Don Armstrong: This ain't that.
• 6:59
  Jeff Dziekan: No, I know.
• 7:00
Jeff Dziekan: But if when I back out of my garage and it's raining, my car will actually dead stop because the rain is hitting the sensors.
• 7:06
  Jeff Dziekan: Uh-huh.
• 7:07
Jeff Dziekan: And it's it's scary.
• 7:09
Jeff Dziekan: It's scary as heck because you're backing up in a nice, comfortable one mile an hour and all of a sudden it locks up.
• 7:14
Don Armstrong: Well, this forward collision avoidance system uh is now functioning on the Hyundai Santa Cruz Tucson, Tucson hybrid, Tucson plug-in hybrid, 25 and 26 mile years.
• 7:24
Don Armstrong: Wheelchair restraint retractor may not lock.
• 7:27

• 7:31
Don Armstrong: Ford Odyssey and Ford Terra Transit, whatever that is.
• 7:35
Don Armstrong: And the Toyota Tundra for 2024.
• 7:38
Don Armstrong: Debris in the engine may cause a stall.
• 7:41
Jeff Dziekan: Debris in the engine.
• 7:46
  Jeff Dziekan: Yeah.
• 7:47
Don Armstrong: Okay, so are you ready to run down the Yeah.
• 7:52
Don Armstrong: So Mars pointed out to me.
• 7:53
Don Armstrong: I see I said it's complicated the way that we do this, but boy's kind of to be.
• 7:59
  Mike Marrs: No.
• 7:59
Mike Marrs: We can't do it simple.
• 8:01
Don Armstrong: Mars pointed out to me after I sent him the sold car roundup this week that the prices are all wrong.
• 8:06
Don Armstrong: I'm going, well, not to my knowledge.
• 8:10
Don Armstrong: So and he starts quoting all this other stuff, and I'm going, I can't go with all that.
• 8:15
Don Armstrong: They're close, let me put it that way.
• 8:17
Don Armstrong: But what I get from Hemings is what we're going to go with today.
• 8:21
  Don Armstrong: So, first up.
• 8:22
Don Armstrong: So we can make up our own prices on this?
• 8:24
  Don Armstrong: No, we can't.
• 8:25
Don Armstrong: This is what they sold for.
• 8:26
Don Armstrong: So, first up, on the sold car roundup, uh, everybody get ready to chime in.
• 8:31
Don Armstrong: Your guess as to what the car sold for.
• 8:32
Don Armstrong: Oh, this, ladies and gentlemen, is the biggest 1959 Cadillac Series 75.
• 8:42
Don Armstrong: This is as big as they come, ladies and gentlemen.
• 8:45
Don Armstrong: So, how much do you think that this beauty sold for?
• 8:48
  Jeff Dziekan: 175.
• 8:50
Don Armstrong: 175 is what Jeff.
• 8:53
  Mike Marrs: $175?
• 8:54
  Mike Marrs: Yeah.
• 8:57
  Don Armstrong: It's gorgeous.
• 8:58
  Don Armstrong: It is.
• 8:58
Don Armstrong: It looks like it is an all-original, even with the wide whites, everything about it.
• 9:03
Don Armstrong: Look at the size of those fins.
• 9:04
  Don Armstrong: Yeah.
• 9:05
Don Armstrong: How much do you think that this car sold for on the Hemings sold car?
• 9:10
  Jeff Dziekan: George says$39,999.
• 9:12
Jeff Dziekan: And this is pre-Dagmars.
• 9:14
Don Armstrong: Yeah, there's no Dagmar's on Dagmar's.
• 9:16
Jeff Dziekan: Yeah, but it does have a great set of fins.
• 9:18
Jeff Dziekan: Yeah, it's got it's got some training Dagmar's.
• 9:21
  Don Armstrong: Yeah.
• 9:22
Don Armstrong: So I I don't know whether uh Heitzman's with us.
• 9:24
Jeff Dziekan: Is Heitzman with us?
• 9:26
  Jeff Dziekan: Oh, okay.
• 9:26
Jeff Dziekan: The uh the Lusk family says 33K.
• 9:29
  Don Armstrong: 33,000.
• 9:30
  Jeff Dziekan: David and Stacey.
• 9:31
  Don Armstrong: Okay.
• 9:32
Don Armstrong: So do we wait for Mr.
• 9:33
  Don Armstrong: Heitzman?
• 9:34
Don Armstrong: He might not even be there.
• 9:35
Jeff Dziekan: He's probably working on Artemis.
• 9:37
Don Armstrong: Yeah, on the uh Blue Origin thing that blew up this week.
• 9:40
  Jeff Dziekan: That's not his.
• 9:41
Mike Marrs: No, that's not his, but I'm not seeing him on in an earlier two weeks.
• 9:45
Don Armstrong: Okay, so the the sold car price for the 59 Cadillac Series 75 was 19,950.
• 9:53
Don Armstrong: The only problem is you're gonna have to spend$40,000 in redoing the garage to get it inside there that long.
• 9:59
Jeff Dziekan: Get to buy a new house for$175.
• 10:01
  Jeff Dziekan: Pretty much.
• 10:02
  Jeff Dziekan: All right.
• 10:03
Don Armstrong: Next up, another Cadillac.
• 10:05
Don Armstrong: But I thought that this was an interesting because I I never knew that in 1973 they made a Cadillac Calais.
• 10:13
  Jeff Dziekan: Mm-hmm.
• 10:13
  Jeff Dziekan: Yeah.
• 10:14
  Don Armstrong: You're familiar.
• 10:15
  Don Armstrong: Yeah, yeah.
• 10:15
Don Armstrong: So where does this fit in between the Sedan de Ville and the Coupe Deville?
• 10:19
Don Armstrong: It's like uh it's like the Fleetwood.
• 10:21
Jeff Dziekan: It's like the the Buick GMC version in that category, the the in in betweener.
• 10:27
Jeff Dziekan: Uh the Calais was sort of uh sporty and luxury.
• 10:33
Don Armstrong: That is not a sporty car.
• 10:34
  Don Armstrong: Okay, 78.
• 10:36
Jeff Dziekan: Like an extended cab?
• 10:38
Jeff Dziekan: Fender skirts on it.
• 10:39
Jeff Dziekan: So you had a little bit of classier stuff.
• 10:41
  Jeff Dziekan: Okay, well, whatever.
• 10:42
Don Armstrong: Um, so so does anybody want to guess how much this car sold for?
• 10:46
Jeff Dziekan: I'm gonna go 12.
• 10:47
Jeff Dziekan: Uh look at uh the last family says 127.
• 10:50
Jeff Dziekan: Yeah, I'm in that range, 12 to 15.
• 10:51
  Jeff Dziekan: I'll go 15.
• 10:52
  Don Armstrong: Okay.
• 10:53
  Jeff Dziekan: George says 21,999.
• 10:55
Don Armstrong: This is a George car.
• 10:57
  Don Armstrong: Yeah.
• 10:57
Don Armstrong: This car sold for$1,700.
• 11:03
Don Armstrong: It looks like it needs a little upholstery work, or is that just a reflection down there?
• 11:07
Mike Marrs: No, it's it needs some state work, yes.
• 11:10
  Mike Marrs: Okay.
• 11:10
Don Armstrong: Oh, look at that.
• 11:11
Don Armstrong: Next up is the 1981, it 1981 Chevy Blazer.
• 11:17
Don Armstrong: This is the old square body blazer.
• 11:19
Don Armstrong: Uh, yes, the rear roof does come off, but what a pain.
• 11:24
Don Armstrong: You had you have to unbolt it if you want it off.
• 11:26
Mike Marrs: Well, yeah, but it didn't come off going down the highway like that it did not, that it did not.
• 11:31
Don Armstrong: So an 81 blazer, what do you think that that sold for?
• 11:34
Jeff Dziekan: Oh gosh, those things are hot.
• 11:36
  Jeff Dziekan: And it's lifted.
• 11:37
  Jeff Dziekan: Yeah.
• 11:38
Jeff Dziekan: Got a little chrome under the nose.
• 11:40
Don Armstrong: I I like the uh wood wood green.
• 11:42
Jeff Dziekan: I'm gonna go 39.
• 11:44
  Jeff Dziekan: 39?
• 11:44
Jeff Dziekan: Yeah, I'm gonna go 39.
• 11:45
Jeff Dziekan: Wow's uh 59, says the Les family.
• 11:48
  Jeff Dziekan: That's beautiful.
• 11:49
  Jeff Dziekan: I agree.
• 11:49
  Don Armstrong: 59?
• 11:51
  Don Armstrong: Okay, anybody else?
• 11:54
  Don Armstrong: George?
• 11:54
  Jeff Dziekan: 1499.
• 11:56
  Jeff Dziekan: 1499.
• 11:56
Don Armstrong: Okay, so it's sold for 23,625.
• 12:01
Jeff Dziekan: Well, we've all got a range, but you know what?
• 12:02
Don Armstrong: This is this has all been redone.
• 12:04
Don Armstrong: You don't have to do anything to it, just run it down the road.
• 12:06
Mike Marrs: Oh no, you do it's just a climb up and get in it.
• 12:09
  Don Armstrong: That's it.
• 12:09
  Don Armstrong: Okay, next up.
• 12:10
Don Armstrong: This is a school teacher, Mrs.
• 12:12
  Don Armstrong: Rogers car.
• 12:14
Don Armstrong: Uh, this is a 1972 Volvo 1800.
• 12:19
Don Armstrong: Remember the little sports car that they made for a very short period of time?
• 12:22
Don Armstrong: Yeah, that was hot.
• 12:23
  Don Armstrong: Yep.
• 12:23
Don Armstrong: And so is Mrs.
• 12:24
  Don Armstrong: Rogers.
• 12:25
  Don Armstrong: Golly.
• 12:26
Don Armstrong: Uh, so what do you think that this Volvo 1800 from 1972 sold for?
• 12:31
Don Armstrong: It looks like aftermarket wheels on there.
• 12:33
Jeff Dziekan: I'm gonna say, I'm gonna say uh 19,000.
• 12:36
  Jeff Dziekan: 19,000.
• 12:37
Jeff Dziekan: Jeffs in with 19.
• 12:40
Jeff Dziekan: It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood for her.
• 12:42
  Jeff Dziekan: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 12:43
Mike Marrs: It has a uh it's got a manual transmission, but if you look at that engine picture, it's it's almost like a wankel or rotary or something.
• 12:52
  Mike Marrs: It's really a four-cylinder.
• 12:54
Jeff Dziekan: George says 12999, and I think I missed the Les family.
• 12:57
Jeff Dziekan: Uh they might be coming up.
• 12:59
  Jeff Dziekan: Here we go.
• 12:59
Jeff Dziekan: Uh 265 from them.
• 13:01
Don Armstrong: It's sold for$21,000 either.
• 13:03
Jeff Dziekan: We're all in the park.
• 13:04
  Don Armstrong: Yeah.
• 13:04
  Don Armstrong: Yeah.
• 13:04
  Don Armstrong: Everybody's kind of.
• 13:05
Jeff Dziekan: Well, my uh brother-in-law Jerry had a Capri.
• 13:07
Jeff Dziekan: He rallied a Capri and had the same kind of wheels on that.
• 13:10
Jeff Dziekan: It was very cool wheels.
• 13:12
  Don Armstrong: All right.
• 13:12
Don Armstrong: Next up, and I had to put this in here because it's kind of surprising to me.
• 13:16
Don Armstrong: A 2015 Porsche Cayman.
• 13:19
  Don Armstrong: Okay.
• 13:20
  Don Armstrong: All right.
• 13:20
Don Armstrong: Uh Porsche Cayman for 2015.
• 13:24
  Don Armstrong: Um 70.
• 13:26
  Don Armstrong: Really?
• 13:27
  Jeff Dziekan: Yeah.
• 13:28
  Don Armstrong: A 2015.
• 13:29
Don Armstrong: So that this car is 11 years old, Jeff.
• 13:31
  Jeff Dziekan: Right.
• 13:31
  Jeff Dziekan: It's a Cayman.
• 13:32
  Don Armstrong: All right.
• 13:33
  Don Armstrong: It's a Cayman.
• 13:34
Jeff Dziekan: Should I go more?
• 13:36
Don Armstrong: Um, what did you guess?
• 13:37
  Jeff Dziekan: This is 70.
• 13:38
Jeff Dziekan: Uh Lost Family says 80.
• 13:41
  Don Armstrong: Really?
• 13:42
  Jeff Dziekan: Yeah.
• 13:42
Don Armstrong: Well, you all are going to be surprised.
• 13:44
  Jeff Dziekan: Yeah.
• 13:45
Jeff Dziekan: Probably went for 12 or something.
• 13:47
  Don Armstrong: 16.8.
• 13:48
  Don Armstrong: Ah.
• 13:49
Don Armstrong: What uh my question is, what's wrong with it?
• 13:51
  unknown: Yeah.
• 13:53
  Don Armstrong: That little?
• 13:53
  Don Armstrong: I don't know.
• 13:54
  Don Armstrong: It looks clean.
• 13:56
  Don Armstrong: All right.
• 13:57
Don Armstrong: This one here is for George.
• 13:58
  Don Armstrong: Next up.
• 13:59
Don Armstrong: A 1932 Chevrolet Custom.
• 14:04
Don Armstrong: Do we have that?
• 14:05
Don Armstrong: Yeah, he's coming up.
• 14:06
Mike Marrs: I'm not sure why it's not coming out.
• 14:07
  Mike Marrs: There it is.
• 14:08
  Mike Marrs: There you go.
• 14:09
Don Armstrong: A 1932 Chevrolet Custom.
• 14:12
  Mike Marrs: George.
• 14:14
  Don Armstrong: George, I'm sorry.
• 14:15
Don Armstrong: I I didn't I'm not trying to offend you, but I thought.
• 14:18
Don Armstrong: Well, this is a George car.
• 14:19
Jeff Dziekan: George sent, uh I just noticed on the George sent a picture of his first car, so we're gonna have to put that up for next week.
• 14:24
  Don Armstrong: Okay.
• 14:24
Jeff Dziekan: Uh I'm looking at 17,000.
• 14:29
  Jeff Dziekan: I'm way off.
• 14:30
  Don Armstrong: Really?
• 14:30
Jeff Dziekan: I'm thinking way off.
• 14:31
Don Armstrong: Well, it does not have the stock engine in it.
• 14:34
Don Armstrong: It looks like it's got a Chevy or something.
• 14:38
  Jeff Dziekan: Yep.
• 14:38
  Don Armstrong: How much?
• 14:40
  Jeff Dziekan: 17.
• 14:40
  Don Armstrong: 17.
• 14:41
  Don Armstrong: All right.
• 14:42
  Jeff Dziekan: 32 from George.
• 14:44
Jeff Dziekan: Uh David and Stacy said 5K.
• 14:47
Don Armstrong: Well, you well, they they win.
• 14:49
  Don Armstrong: Yeah.
• 14:50
  Don Armstrong: $5,320.
• 14:53
Don Armstrong: So don't tell me you can't afford to get into a hot rod.
• 14:56
Jeff Dziekan: Or are you going to spend another 60 grand tubbing it out and put an LS?
• 15:00
Don Armstrong: This one here is Mars Car of the Week.
• 15:02
  Don Armstrong: Next up.
• 15:03
  Jeff Dziekan: It's coming up.
• 15:05
  Jeff Dziekan: I love this.
• 15:07
  Mike Marrs: I'm telling you.
• 15:09
Don Armstrong: The only problem with that is that on-ramp accelerator test that you uh have happened to have.
• 15:15
Don Armstrong: I'm not thinking of real good thoughts there.
• 15:17
Mike Marrs: Do I see a Briggs and Stratton stencil on that end?
• 15:19
Mike Marrs: Could very well be.
• 15:22
Mike Marrs: This is your own personal clown car you can have here.
• 15:25
  Don Armstrong: 1960 Vespa 400.
• 15:28
  Don Armstrong: Wait a minute.
• 15:29
Don Armstrong: Vespa, didn't they make those fucking little Italian motorbikes?
• 15:32
  Jeff Dziekan: There you go.
• 15:33
Jeff Dziekan: David and Stacy said 25.
• 15:35
Jeff Dziekan: I was going to go around four.
• 15:37
  Jeff Dziekan: I'll do four.
• 15:38
Don Armstrong: Well, David and Stacy, I'm telling you, they got it together.
• 15:41
  Don Armstrong: Yep.
• 15:42
  Don Armstrong: 821.
• 15:44
  Don Armstrong: Wow.
• 15:44
Don Armstrong: The only problem is you have to ask yourself, can I fit in it?
• 15:48
Mike Marrs: Yeah, I don't think.
• 15:48
Mike Marrs: The other thing I was thinking about, if you had, if it's got a, I couldn't find it in the picture, but if it's got a like a moonroof or a sunroof that you can open up and stick your head out the top of your head.
• 15:58
Jeff Dziekan: You know, it does look like it, Mike.
• 15:59
  Jeff Dziekan: It's got something.
• 16:00
Don Armstrong: That would be one of those that the that big humongous guy in all of those Bond movies with the with the braces teeth.
• 16:07
  Don Armstrong: Yeah.
• 16:09
Don Armstrong: All right, uh, so that sold for$18,821.
• 16:13
Don Armstrong: Next up is a 2005 Chrysler Crossfire.
• 16:19
Don Armstrong: When that thing came out, that was the hottest looking little thing.
• 16:22
Don Armstrong: And the problem is it had no leg room in it whatsoever.
• 16:26
Don Armstrong: Because it was based.
• 16:27
Don Armstrong: This is back when uh Chrysler was owned by Mercedes-Benz, and they took their I don't know, what whatever little car that they had at the time and re-badged it.
• 16:38
Don Armstrong: Then re-badged it with uh whatever it whatever it was in the Mercedes Benz form and called it the Cross or Christfire.
• 16:45
  Jeff Dziekan: 12,000.
• 16:46
  Don Armstrong: 12,000, Jeff says.
• 16:49
  Don Armstrong: Anybody else?
• 16:50
  Jeff Dziekan: They're coming up.
• 16:52
  Jeff Dziekan: George says$12,999.
• 16:54
  Don Armstrong: Okay.
• 16:55
Mike Marrs: Still talking about the clown car that we just looked at.
• 16:59
  Jeff Dziekan: I think so.
• 17:01
  Don Armstrong: All right.
• 17:02
Don Armstrong: The actual sold price was$9,500.
• 17:05
  Jeff Dziekan: There you go.
• 17:10
Don Armstrong: So what have we learned today?
• 17:11
Don Armstrong: Don't let me buy your car.
• 17:13
Don Armstrong: And also, don't buy the Vespa automobile before you sit in it.
• 17:19
Mike Marrs: I would have to, I would have to buy that.
• 17:22
  unknown: Yeah.
• 17:23
Mike Marrs: Because I can fit that in my garage.
• 17:25
Mike Marrs: I got a little corner over in the, I could put it in the garage.
• 17:28
Don Armstrong: You take all the crap out of the garage and then put that in and then put all the crap on the top of it.
• 17:33
Mike Marrs: I bet it didn't take up as much room as a golf cart.
• 17:36
Don Armstrong: Oh, I bet not.
• 17:37
Mike Marrs: Yeah, you're probably right.
• 17:38

  Don Armstrong: Sure.
• 19:44
  Don Armstrong: Okay.
• 19:45
Don Armstrong: We're gonna do you first.
• 19:46
Mike Marrs: You're gonna do me first?
• 19:48
Don Armstrong: We're gonna do you first.
• 19:49
  Don Armstrong: So Mr.
• 19:50
Don Armstrong: Mars has this week in auto history.
• 19:52
Don Armstrong: And um we're ready when you are, Mike.
• 19:55
  Mike Marrs: All righty.
• 19:56
Mike Marrs: This week we found a few stories that we thought were rather interesting.
• 19:58
Mike Marrs: And of course, the Indianapolis 500 was just finished up.
• 20:03
Mike Marrs: Excuse me, and and I found another little story about it.
• 20:07
Mike Marrs: But actually, the very first Indianapolis 500 was on May the 30th of 1911.
• 20:12
Mike Marrs: Now, it may it that's the start of the most famous race in American history.
• 20:17
Mike Marrs: Now, the car winning car was a Marmon Wasp.
• 20:20
Mike Marrs: This was a revolutionary single-seat car, had one of the earliest rear view mirrors, and that's significant because that's another thing that came out of the racing world and became into production cars, as well as some of the other features for the engineering advancements on this car that kind of influenced cars made for the public sector for the next several centuries.
• 20:41
Mike Marrs: So the also this week was the introduction of the diesel passenger car.
• 20:48
Mike Marrs: Now at the Berlin Motor Show, Mercedes Benz introduced the 260D, which is generally recognized as the first series production diesel passenger car.
• 20:58
Mike Marrs: There were diesel engines obviously out in trucks and uh tractors and railroad gear, but this was the first one that was set up for everyday automobiles and improved the efficiency and the reliability of the diesel motor in that in the category.
• 21:14
Mike Marrs: Now, it's long been held over in Europe.
• 21:16
Mike Marrs: They've always used diesels a lot more than what we would here, but this is where it started and where it brought it into uh common usage.
• 21:24
Mike Marrs: Now in 1934, this was really interesting.
• 21:27
Mike Marrs: I did not know this existed, but it was the birth of the Chrysler Airflow era.
• 21:32
Mike Marrs: Now they started production of this automotive design thinking that Chrysler engineers were going to use the wind tunnel testing and the airflow, which was actually a model of a car that was produced from nineteen thirty four to nineteen thirty seven, and it was a unibody vehicle that I did not even know existed back then.
• 21:52
Jeff Dziekan: So uh Sir I said I like it.
• 21:56
  Mike Marrs: Yeah.
• 21:57
Mike Marrs: It it's got a lot of features on it, including the Uh it sits down low, it's got a waterfall type grill to it.
• 22:04
Mike Marrs: The uh windshield was technology advanced because instead of it being one piece of glass that was flat, it's two pieces that come up to that V that you can see sections off right there.
• 22:14
Mike Marrs: Uh it sets a little lower, it's got the wheel wheel coverings that kind of come over the tires.
• 22:18
Mike Marrs: There's a lot of things that were done because of the wind tunnel testing that they developed on this car.
• 22:24
Mike Marrs: And it's a shame they only produced it for three years, but they also produced one over in the DeSoto line as well as the Chrysler line, but it just never was publicly accepted.
• 22:36
Mike Marrs: I mean, they just couldn't sell many of them.
• 22:38
Mike Marrs: I think it was only like about 7,000, was actually they ended up selling it across three years and uh they pulled it from production.
• 22:45
Mike Marrs: But it was another one of those things ahead of its time.
• 22:48
Mike Marrs: Yes, in 1986, Henry Ford's quadricycle hits the road.
• 22:52
Mike Marrs: Now, this was the first one.
• 22:54
Mike Marrs: Wait a minute, you just said 1986?
• 22:56
  Mike Marrs: 1886.
• 22:58
  Mike Marrs: 1896.
• 22:59
Mike Marrs: Yeah, there you go.
• 22:59
  Jeff Dziekan: 1896, okay.
• 23:00
Mike Marrs: Yeah, let me let me turn my glasses around.
• 23:03
  Mike Marrs: Okay.
• 23:03
Mike Marrs: So this was uh in Detroit, and this was a four-wheeled vehicle powered by a small gasoline engine.
• 23:09
Mike Marrs: Now, this is Ford's earliest practical automobile, and this is what he started off building the whole Ford Motor Company from.
• 23:17
Mike Marrs: It's absolutely very primitive, but if you think about it, some of the things that as kids that we tried to build little go-karts, our own little motorized powers, it was basically that four wheels and a motor with some sort of steering.
• 23:29
Mike Marrs: In uh 1928, Chrysler produced purchases the Dodge Brothers.
• 23:35
Mike Marrs: Now, the interesting thing about this is the Dodge Brothers were originally parts suppliers to all of the manufacturers at the time, including Ford.
• 23:45
Mike Marrs: So in 1914, they decided to start building their own automobiles.
• 23:50
Mike Marrs: And so through that production, and then it came up in 1928 after both brothers had uh died for one of them was under the Spanish flu, and the other one they're not really sure, but they think it was related to that.
• 24:02
Mike Marrs: So the family then ended up selling it, and Chrysler ended up buying it through a couple of other transactions, and what it did, it gave Chrysler, expanded their production ability to bring things in and make Chrysler that started Chrysler into becoming one of the big three of Detroit.
• 24:19
Mike Marrs: Uh and uh yeah, and that's the things that I found that were interesting.
• 24:23
Mike Marrs: Some of them I didn't even know existed in automobile history.
• 24:26
Don Armstrong: I saw the Marmon Wasp, it's in the uh Indianapolis Museum uh at the Indianapolis Speedway, and I got to see, and I think you did too, Mike, that uh that Chrysler Airflow.
• 24:36
Don Armstrong: That was in the Chrysler Museum there in Auburn Hills when we went to visit.
• 24:41
  Don Armstrong: That's very cool.
• 24:42
Don Armstrong: Yeah, yeah, and that those cars are around, but you have to seek them out.
• 24:46
Don Armstrong: You just you know they don't show up at at the cruise in or something.
• 24:49
Mike Marrs: No, yeah, they're they're very special cars and they treat them that way, fortunately.
• 24:53
Don Armstrong: All right, time now for the racing calendar, sponsored by the Texas Muscle Car Club Challenge.
• 24:57
Jeff Dziekan: Thank you for that.
• 24:58
Jeff Dziekan: Now going on the indie theme, Doug Taylor.
• 25:00
Jeff Dziekan: You got indie going on tomorrow.
• 25:02
Jeff Dziekan: I watched a little bit of the NXT series this morning.
• 25:05
Jeff Dziekan: They're uh practicing and qualifying today.
• 25:08
Jeff Dziekan: They're gonna qualify for the Detroit Grand Prix.
• 25:12
Jeff Dziekan: It's gonna be awesome.
• 25:13
Jeff Dziekan: Uh Detroit used to run it on Belle Isle.
• 25:15
Jeff Dziekan: Now they went on to the mainland around the streets of Detroit.
• 25:17
Jeff Dziekan: It's gonna be fantastic.
• 25:19
Jeff Dziekan: 11:30 tomorrow morning on Fox Local.
• 25:21
Jeff Dziekan: I want everybody to tune in for that.
• 25:23

• 25:29
Jeff Dziekan: It's going on this weekend.
• 25:31
Jeff Dziekan: Uh I don't know any qualifying aspects or anything, so uh you have to tune in and watch that.
• 25:36
Jeff Dziekan: Uh Formula One is in uh actually not gonna be too to June 7th, so they're another week out in Monaco.
• 25:44
  Jeff Dziekan: Uh NASCAR.
• 25:45
Jeff Dziekan: Let's talk a little bit about NASCAR.
• 25:47
Jeff Dziekan: Uh just gonna give you some stats here and move on.
• 25:50
Jeff Dziekan: They're gonna Nashville, all three series.
• 25:52
Jeff Dziekan: Uh they kind of paraded uh uh Kyle Bush's wife out there, and it was kind of embarrassing, I think, for NASCAR.
• 25:58
Jeff Dziekan: So shame on you, NASCAR, and that's it.
• 26:01
Don Armstrong: Okay, well, thank you.
• 26:02
Don Armstrong: Uh for America's 250th birthday, Chevy gave itself the honor of blowing out the candles.
• 26:08
Don Armstrong: GM set up an 188-foot-long birthday cake topped with 250 oversized candles at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, then used a 1,250 horsepower Corvette ZR1 X to extinguish the flames at 90 miles an hour.
