- 0:40Speaker 2: What's what's up?
- 0:41Speaker 3: Sir?
- 0:42Speaker 5: Saying?
- 0:43Speaker 1: South Carolina's finest for sure for sure. Hey, now you're
- 0:46Speaker 1: gonna host the show with us. We will give your
- 0:47Speaker 1: business a little bit. Talk about what you got going on.
- 0:50Speaker 5: Let's do it.
- 0:51Speaker 6: Hey, let's get into this blog bag, y'all.
- 0:53Speaker 7: So everybody's talking about the Grammys and how rapid and
- 0:57Speaker 7: hip hop is like a young man's sport. But everybody
- 1:00Speaker 7: who won Grammys wasn't a young was not a young man.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Yeah, they were thirty five, and that's still young.
- 1:06Speaker 2: They're still young.
- 1:07Speaker 3: But you know, I mean, of course, not not in
- 1:09Speaker 3: a hip hop not in the hip hop community, that
- 1:11Speaker 3: they're considered young, but that that's still young.
- 1:13Speaker 6: We talk about teenagers in early twenties.
- 1:16Speaker 1: To you, young man, those those two thousand babies. Consider
- 1:19Speaker 1: anybody thirty and over old. Motherfucker.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Yeah, isn't it crazy that, like I see some of
- 1:25Speaker 3: Uzzi fans are considering him getting old.
- 1:28Speaker 2: I'm like, yes, not even thirty.
- 1:30Speaker 6: It's like Drake he o g now facts.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Yeah, he'll he'll triple ojan.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Future the same, maybe thirty nine.
- 1:36Speaker 3: But you know, I think, I think what these kids
- 1:38Speaker 3: don't understand is that you actually have to vote to
- 1:41Speaker 3: be a part of the Grammy committee and a lot
- 1:44Speaker 3: of the power to make your work right correct, right.
- 1:47Speaker 3: And you know, these kids don't vote. Like, let's be honest,
- 1:51Speaker 3: the kids do not vote. They listen to the music,
- 1:54Speaker 3: they consume the content, but they don't want to get
- 1:56Speaker 3: out and vote.
- 1:58Speaker 6: Well, you can't vote for the Grammys.
- 2:00Speaker 3: But you can you can try to be on the
- 2:01Speaker 3: committee of the of the people that are a part
- 2:04Speaker 3: of choosing who wins a Grammy.
- 2:06Speaker 2: And that's the thing that the kids don't understand. It's like,
- 2:09Speaker 2: but the thing.
- 2:10Speaker 7: About the Grammys is it goes from one large pool
- 2:15Speaker 7: to a secluded group of people who will select who
- 2:20Speaker 7: the Grammy goes to, and it's hard to get up
- 2:23Speaker 7: in there.
- 2:24Speaker 1: I do want to figure out how her loss And
- 2:28Speaker 1: keep in mind, Carrol Mike's album was good. I did
- 2:31Speaker 1: like it, I did enjoy it. I didn't listen to it.
- 2:34Speaker 6: Her lost didn't win any anything.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Her lost didn't win anything.
- 2:38Speaker 6: But you know what, I just feel snub for SISM
- 2:40Speaker 6: because I.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Feel man's a man the problem of the year. The
- 2:45Speaker 1: win though, yeah, you know, I mean it's Taylor Swift.
- 2:48Speaker 2: I'm talking a lot.
- 2:48Speaker 3: That was the only decision that besides her loss. I
- 2:53Speaker 3: was like, how this Sism not win that category. But
- 2:56Speaker 3: you gotta understand, they need Taylor Swift to win. The
- 2:59Speaker 3: reason why they need Tail Swift the win is because
- 3:01Speaker 3: of her fan base. They want her fan base to
- 3:03Speaker 3: continue watching the Grammys.
- 3:06Speaker 1: So and it was one of the most highest watch
- 3:09Speaker 1: Grammys in a very long time.
- 3:12Speaker 6: Well, you know, Jay Z said a lot of people
- 3:13Speaker 6: don't deserve.
- 3:14Speaker 1: To be in the category. I enjoyed his speech.
- 3:18Speaker 2: You how you feel about that?
- 3:19Speaker 5: Jay Z's speech I loved. I ain't gonna lie. I
- 3:22Speaker 5: ain't watch the Grammars, but I've seen the jay Z's
- 3:25Speaker 5: going viral. I love it, he said.
- 3:27Speaker 2: I text JD and I was like, Jad, who are
- 3:30Speaker 2: you talking about?
- 3:31Speaker 6: You know who you talking about?
- 3:33Speaker 1: Exactly?
- 3:35Speaker 5: So I love it too.
- 3:37Speaker 7: So in the building, you know, they hated when we
- 3:41Speaker 7: talk about signs here, but yeah, what do you feel
- 3:47Speaker 7: about the Grammys?
- 3:48Speaker 6: Do you want a Grammy one day?
- 3:49Speaker 5: It'll be dope to have it. Yeah, that's a goal.
- 3:52Speaker 2: You know that show price go up too.
- 3:56Speaker 1: To the winners, all of them being thirty five and older.
- 4:00Speaker 1: I just hope that the younger rappers, artists, musicians see
- 4:05Speaker 1: that as a sign like hey, bro, like you can
- 4:08Speaker 1: keep going with this because sometimes, you know, sometimes old rappers.
- 4:12Speaker 3: I don't like the age limitation because our culture is
- 4:15Speaker 3: the only culture that cares about age. You could go
- 4:18Speaker 3: to country, Yeah, they go to rock. These guys are
- 4:21Speaker 3: seventy years old. If they don't have to worry about
- 4:24Speaker 3: getting paid, they can go do it. Sold out concert.
- 4:27Speaker 3: Name one rapper that's sixty something years old that can
- 4:31Speaker 3: say I could go sell out, you know, Mercedes being Stateles, I.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Can think of it as jay Z. He's not sixty, but.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Yeah, but you got people and the other cultures, and
- 4:40Speaker 3: these guys are old and they're still selling out stadiums.
- 4:43Speaker 1: That's why I said, I like to see it. I
- 4:45Speaker 1: like to see the most recent winners, like loo Can
- 4:48Speaker 1: Killer Mike. He's our forties. Yeah, and he won. He
- 4:51Speaker 1: also went to jail too. We didn't go to jail,
- 4:54Speaker 1: but that's a whole other thing. It was a citizen interest.
- 4:57Speaker 1: He actually did not go to jail.
- 4:59Speaker 3: I was like, man, this man just won three Grammys
- 5:01Speaker 3: and he just shouted out Atlanta.
- 5:02Speaker 2: So crazy killing Mike.
- 5:05Speaker 1: But I didn't like Atlanta Adams out of Atlanta.
- 5:08Speaker 2: I didn't like consint reaction, his reaction.
- 5:13Speaker 1: He didn't even know who Killer Mike was at all,
- 5:16Speaker 1: which is fine, which he played it so left too.
- 5:18Speaker 1: I was like, damn, you have to play exactly what
- 5:20Speaker 1: did he do? He just didn't even acknowledge him at all.
- 5:23Speaker 1: He was just like, damn, who is that?
- 5:25Speaker 2: What what he did?
- 5:26Speaker 3: He did?
- 5:27Speaker 2: Like he did like a pump fake.
- 5:28Speaker 3: He was like, oh yeah, congratulations and all this stuff,
- 5:31Speaker 3: and then he was like, you know, just went left
- 5:33Speaker 3: and was like, man, who the hell.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Is killing Mike and all this stuff, And I was like.
- 5:37Speaker 6: At the same time, you can listen to whatever you want.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Now, But he's not a blogger, he's not a journalist.
- 5:42Speaker 1: He's a streamer. That's it, Yeah, for sure, But I'm
- 5:45Speaker 1: not him.
- 5:45Speaker 7: A lot of I'm not expecting a lot of these
- 5:47Speaker 7: people to know who everybody is in the Grammys, even
- 5:50Speaker 7: even black artists or black people know who certain white
- 5:53Speaker 7: artists is. Like a lot of people don't understand why
- 5:56Speaker 7: Taylor Swift would win or Moley Cyrus. That record was
- 6:02Speaker 7: everywhere and that record number one, but it was literally
- 6:07Speaker 7: everywhere on Top forty radio can played every single day,
- 6:10Speaker 7: but not everybody listens. And everybody nowadays can listen to
- 6:14Speaker 7: whatever they want. So whatever is in your playlist if
- 6:17Speaker 7: you are, you can stream on YouTube, whatever you like,
- 6:19Speaker 7: you can stream on Pandora, Spotify. Whatever is in your
- 6:23Speaker 7: thing is what you're gonna be hearing. So when you
- 6:26Speaker 7: see somebody winning an award, you wouldn't know if they
- 6:29Speaker 7: earned that spot or not because you're not.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Even listening, Like exactly who you're listening to right now?
- 6:43Speaker 5: For sure? Who else don't fucking right now listen to?
- 6:52Speaker 5: Oh boss Man? D Low. What's that Louis vu for?
- 7:04Speaker 2: He got? He got? He got a good song out
- 7:06Speaker 2: right now.
- 7:06Speaker 5: I'll be like coming up. I'll be like listening like
- 7:08Speaker 5: up and coming artists me too, you know what I'm saying.
- 7:10Speaker 2: That's when it's like I feel like that's what the
- 7:12Speaker 2: music really is.
- 7:13Speaker 5: It's really hungry. I don't want to hear about like
- 7:17Speaker 5: all the money and everything everybody else talk about it,
- 7:21Speaker 5: like I want to hear about you know what I'm saying, Like,
- 7:23Speaker 5: what's really is still going on?
- 7:25Speaker 6: Relative? It's all relative, like that's what jay Z said.
- 7:28Speaker 6: You know what I'm saying.
- 7:29Speaker 7: It's based off of what you like, you know, and
- 7:32Speaker 7: it's a whole bunch of metrics and all this stuff
- 7:34Speaker 7: going on. And how didn't Beyonce ever win the Album
- 7:37Speaker 7: of the Year.
- 7:38Speaker 1: That's wold got the most grammed and she never won
- 7:44Speaker 1: album of the year. That's crazy.
- 7:46Speaker 7: One person who probably will never want to grab me
- 7:48Speaker 7: Nicki Minaj, who you know they said one and didn't win.
- 7:52Speaker 1: It's like coming That was wild too.
- 7:53Speaker 3: It's crazy because it was on Google that it was
- 7:56Speaker 3: on Google that Nicki Minaj won.
- 7:59Speaker 1: Yeah, that she won and then she lost, then she
- 8:02Speaker 1: lost it to Killer Mike.
- 8:04Speaker 5: Yeah, that's crazy.
- 8:06Speaker 3: I don't see how Beyonce doesn't win that category, not
- 8:09Speaker 3: only because she all the Grammys that she has, but
- 8:11Speaker 3: did y'all see the line of celebrities that was lined
- 8:14Speaker 3: up to speak to the queen?
- 8:15Speaker 7: Of course, But I would say that it is kind
- 8:21Speaker 7: of hard to like for Beyonce, Like she's been in
- 8:24Speaker 7: this game for a long time, and you have newcomers,
- 8:28Speaker 7: you know, and people like the Swifties, and Taylor has
- 8:31Speaker 7: been in it a long time too, but she has
- 8:34Speaker 7: a lot of the youth, you know what I'm saying, So,
- 8:36Speaker 7: and they making up a lot of these numbers, like like,
- 8:40Speaker 7: for instance, the movie Taylor's movie with super Crazy. Beyonce's
- 8:45Speaker 7: movie did crazy too, but Taylor she had whole families
- 8:49Speaker 7: in there, you know. So it's kind of hard.
- 8:52Speaker 6: To compete sometimes.
- 8:54Speaker 7: So I kind of understand that. But I understand what
- 8:57Speaker 7: jay Z's saying too, Like come on.
- 8:59Speaker 1: He said he boy kind of it back in ninety
- 9:01Speaker 1: eight and then he ended up.
- 9:03Speaker 3: It was funny, Rory when I heard jay Z's speech,
- 9:06Speaker 3: and then I think it was like maybe like two
- 9:08Speaker 3: more announcements later, the President of the Grammys come out
- 9:11Speaker 3: and does a speech of job.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Did y'all see him the CEO of the Grammys?
- 9:16Speaker 1: I didn't.
- 9:16Speaker 3: I changed after jay Z was done. I changed Champ nothing.
- 9:20Speaker 3: He was just he was just present award. But I
- 9:22Speaker 3: never I never knew who the CEO of the Grammys
- 9:24Speaker 3: were was.
- 9:25Speaker 7: So he's he's new to the job, been there forever.
- 9:29Speaker 7: He's he's a black man, Harvey Mason Jr. He what,
- 9:32Speaker 7: he's a black man?
- 9:35Speaker 6: He's black?
- 9:37Speaker 1: Who you saw?
- 9:39Speaker 6: He's just light skinned.
- 9:40Speaker 1: He's black though, he's super duper duper light.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Color.
- 9:46Speaker 1: No, he.
- 9:48Speaker 6: Slight do your googles. He don't look black to you.
- 9:53Speaker 7: Look mixed though, Yeah, he looks mixed. But he a
- 9:56Speaker 7: black man. Still look at that.
- 9:57Speaker 6: Look at that. Look at that for all right?
- 9:59Speaker 2: There see I see why Patrick Mahomes.
- 10:04Speaker 6: A little more blacker than him.
- 10:05Speaker 7: But you know, speaking of Patrick Mahomes, let's get to
- 10:08Speaker 7: the player's ball.
- 10:10Speaker 2: I'm a foul up.
- 10:12Speaker 1: The big game, the big game, the big game. We
- 10:14Speaker 1: got the San Francisco forty nine ers versus the Kansas
- 10:17Speaker 1: City Chiefs. Who you got, big Zach.
- 10:19Speaker 5: I can't go against Pat Man, thank you, thank you.
- 10:22Speaker 1: They're gonna have a bad game. I'm just let you know,
- 10:24Speaker 1: but go ahead. You're going with Kansas City. I got
- 10:26Speaker 1: to bt I'm going with Kansas City.
- 10:29Speaker 2: I'm going with.
- 10:29Speaker 1: San Francisco forty nine ers.
- 10:30Speaker 3: You just always wanted to do well, that's you from
- 10:34Speaker 3: the bait, You from Florida.
- 10:36Speaker 1: You faan since I was a kid.
- 10:40Speaker 2: You just like to do it in Florida. Roy's gonna
- 10:42Speaker 2: say the total opposite. Everybody going for Pat.
- 10:44Speaker 3: Put your money on Pat and don't look back, because
- 10:48Speaker 3: Patrick Mahome is about to be the next Tom Brady.
- 10:50Speaker 1: No he's not, Yes he is. He's not winning seven chips.
- 10:53Speaker 2: He's gonna be the next time Brady.
- 10:54Speaker 1: How about this? Tom Brady beat him twice. That's never
- 10:56Speaker 1: gonna happen again.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Well, tom Brady was more experienced.
- 10:58Speaker 1: He's not going to get that, so he's never going
- 11:01Speaker 1: to beat seven.
- 11:02Speaker 5: Can't against man.
- 11:03Speaker 3: You can't go against Going against Patrick mahone right now
- 11:06Speaker 3: is like going against Tom Brady.
- 11:07Speaker 1: That's why would you want to go against Tom Brady?
- 11:11Speaker 1: You know what, he had a good two games. The
- 11:14Speaker 1: game that he beat the Buffalo Bills and then he
- 11:16Speaker 1: beat the Baltimore Ravens. His receivers were catching the Ball.
- 11:20Speaker 1: I don't think that they're gonna be like that in
- 11:23Speaker 1: the Super Bowl. I think they're gonna have a bad game.
- 11:26Speaker 3: Well, I think that that's what Patrick Mahone is going
- 11:28Speaker 3: to have a great game. I think Travis Kelsey, I
- 11:30Speaker 3: think they have a lot of new receivers.
- 11:32Speaker 1: And I think Taylor Swim's gonna have a good game
- 11:34Speaker 1: too because she's gonna be there.
- 11:36Speaker 6: And she wanted to grab me, so she's gonna be
- 11:37Speaker 6: extra lit.
- 11:38Speaker 1: She's gonna be That was the most uh she invented dance.
- 11:45Speaker 1: That was the most unseasoned swag surf I've ever seen.
- 11:49Speaker 6: She invented that day.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Nos on it, That's.
- 11:51Speaker 2: What I'm saying.
- 11:52Speaker 1: He was doing the swag surf like everybody else. It
- 11:55Speaker 1: was like this, okay, do that you have have you
- 11:59Speaker 1: ever seen life?
- 12:00Speaker 3: You know?
- 12:00Speaker 2: Have you ever seen drug people? Swat shirt.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Shirt?
- 12:05Speaker 2: They always bro.
- 12:08Speaker 3: No, it's man, they up there, trunk, I ain't nobody. Yeah,
- 12:13Speaker 3: ve off beer. Yeah, and we we had some sauce
- 12:19Speaker 3: with that guy.
- 12:20Speaker 6: No now because Taylor Swift be sipping now every ward.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Taylors what hey, man, all I know is God, I
- 12:27Speaker 1: hope f l y them boys fly. What's up with
- 12:31Speaker 1: them boys. They gave him a tutorial because touchdown you
- 12:35Speaker 1: already know performing a halftime.
- 12:38Speaker 6: It's Taylor's show, but Usher's performing on halftime.
- 12:42Speaker 1: Disrespect wanted to be Detroit because that would have been
- 12:45Speaker 1: because you know, would have been out Detroit.
- 12:47Speaker 3: That would have been crazy super Bowl, that definitely would
- 12:50Speaker 3: That's why Vegas ain't let them win.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Why South Carolina don't got.
- 12:53Speaker 5: A professional team, that's a good question.
- 12:55Speaker 1: I mean, y'all got the Carolina Panthers, but it's in
- 12:58Speaker 1: North Carolina that man.
- 12:59Speaker 5: And the crazy is we passed up on the Panthers
- 13:03Speaker 5: for the Gangs.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Y'all, y'all woman's South South Carolina basketball team.
- 13:09Speaker 5: Yeah, we go crazy.
- 13:10Speaker 1: I think they're gonna win the Chip this year.
- 13:12Speaker 3: It's Duke and that's South Carolina, right, North Carolina, North Carolina.
- 13:15Speaker 3: Why nobody told me Duke was in the hood.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Why nobody told me that is in the hood.
- 13:20Speaker 3: I did a party out there and I was like, oh, yeah, man,
- 13:23Speaker 3: I'm doing a party at Duke.
- 13:24Speaker 5: Yeah, I ain't in North Carolina.
- 13:26Speaker 1: The Tarhels is in a nice area.
- 13:29Speaker 2: Well I was. I was definitely I was caught off
- 13:32Speaker 2: guard because as.
- 13:32Speaker 3: Soon as I pulled up because I was hosting the
- 13:35Speaker 3: college concert out there.
- 13:36Speaker 2: They had the rose blocked. I'm like, why the rose blocker?
- 13:39Speaker 2: I was a shooting happen I said that, Duke.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, but that's your uh Carolina, y'all get that,
- 13:49Speaker 1: that is your players ball.
- 13:50Speaker 6: All right, we'll be right back with more of the
- 13:52Speaker 6: Butler Alert Show and Black Zach.
- 13:54Speaker 4: We'll be right back with more of the Baller Alert Show.
- 14:01Speaker 4: You're listening to a special edition of The Baller Alert
- 14:04Speaker 4: Show and.
- 14:04Speaker 5: Where to do? What the business is your boy? Black Zach?
- 14:07Speaker 5: And you now tuned into the ball of Alert Show.
- 14:09Speaker 2: That was more than the Brother of Alert Show.
- 14:10Speaker 6: We got Black Zack in the building. What's happening South Carolina?
- 14:16Speaker 1: Okay, well exactly where in South Carolina?
- 14:18Speaker 5: Uh? Columbia, Columbia.
- 14:21Speaker 6: How was it growing up for you? Like you know,
- 14:23Speaker 6: I know you said you haven't had money your whole
- 14:25Speaker 6: life before fifteen? What was it like?
- 14:28Speaker 3: Man?
- 14:29Speaker 5: I don't think I never told nobody this on the show,
- 14:31Speaker 5: but like when I was young, I never had a
- 14:34Speaker 5: good bed coming up. Like my bed used to be
- 14:36Speaker 5: like like like a damn, like a like it was broken.
- 14:40Speaker 5: Yeah in the middle park. So I used to always
- 14:43Speaker 5: tell myself, like, boy, when I get some money, I'm
- 14:45Speaker 5: gonna get me up a nice ad bed. So they
- 14:47Speaker 5: used to make me want a hustle like a lot too.
- 14:49Speaker 5: And then I always used to my mama used to
- 14:51Speaker 5: always tell me, I don't remember this. My mom used
- 14:52Speaker 5: to always tell me like I used to tell her,
- 14:55Speaker 5: I want a big house and I don't want to
- 14:56Speaker 5: live by nobody and stuff like that.
- 14:59Speaker 6: So did you grow up in the projects or you?
- 15:03Speaker 5: Yeah, Columbic Guarden that was a project, and then the neighborhood,
- 15:08Speaker 5: the neighborhood, bluff and states.
- 15:11Speaker 3: So you in South Carolina, don't go there, right, Huh,
- 15:14Speaker 3: don't go there if you in these spots, Yeah, don't
- 15:17Speaker 3: go there right.
- 15:17Speaker 5: Yeah, you ain't got no reason. Yeah, I ain't really
- 15:21Speaker 5: no reason to go there. But the crazy thing in
- 15:22Speaker 5: my neighborhood, like where I'm from, up the street from
- 15:24Speaker 5: the stadium where all the game costs and girls and
- 15:28Speaker 5: shit play was there.
- 15:30Speaker 7: Did you have any influences in your neighborhood? Uh, to
- 15:34Speaker 7: you know, make you believe in something other than what's
- 15:38Speaker 7: around you.
- 15:39Speaker 5: Artists like Hot Boy, the BOSSI and all them, they
- 15:43Speaker 5: was doing their thing like there was some people to
- 15:45Speaker 5: look up to because.
- 15:46Speaker 6: Your father wasn't in your household or was he?
- 15:49Speaker 5: Nah, he was, and my brothers and uncles they was
- 15:51Speaker 5: locked up.
- 15:52Speaker 6: So se is just you and your mom?
- 15:54Speaker 5: Yeah? Me and mom? Yeah, me and my MoMA.
- 15:56Speaker 6: Okay, what made you want to become a rapper?
- 16:01Speaker 5: I ain't gonna lie my step parts. He had a
- 16:03Speaker 5: studio in the crib and I used to always see
- 16:07Speaker 5: like people in the neighborhood in the studio. So I
- 16:11Speaker 5: just tried it one day because one of my homeboys,
- 16:14Speaker 5: he was like, man, you gotta rap an image while
- 16:16Speaker 5: you're on rock. So I just tried it, and then
- 16:19Speaker 5: from that that's when.
- 16:22Speaker 6: This is good.
- 16:23Speaker 5: My neighbor It was like my neighborhood was rocking with
- 16:26Speaker 5: it at first, and it went from that to just
- 16:28Speaker 5: moving around. But I never wanted to be like the
- 16:32Speaker 5: biggest I was like, in my mind was already competing
- 16:36Speaker 5: with like who was like the hottest people at that time,
- 16:39Speaker 5: because I used to do in my mind, be like
- 16:41Speaker 5: if I can't go to the club and see these
- 16:43Speaker 5: type people, they shouldn't be able to go to the
- 16:45Speaker 5: club and see me every time or be in the
- 16:48Speaker 5: club all the time. I need to work to be
- 16:50Speaker 5: in the same light as these type people. So I
- 16:53Speaker 5: ain't never really want to be the biggest light in Carolina.
- 16:56Speaker 5: So I always knew, like, okay, it's time to travel.
- 16:59Speaker 5: As soon as I started rapping, like I say, like
- 17:01Speaker 5: a year or two in or whatever, probably not even
- 17:04Speaker 5: that long. We just me and my brothers went straight
- 17:06Speaker 5: into coming up and down the road from here to
- 17:08Speaker 5: Atlanta and ship It's.
- 17:10Speaker 3: Fine, yeah, but you are one of the biggest out
- 17:12Speaker 3: of there. So how do how do you feel now
- 17:15Speaker 3: about your situation and going home?
- 17:17Speaker 6: Do they treating the king now?
- 17:20Speaker 5: It's yeah, like right now I get the most love
- 17:22Speaker 5: I feel like I ever got. Yeah, right now. But
- 17:24Speaker 5: you know it's it been hat of course, but yeah,
- 17:27Speaker 5: they always like showed me love like where I nowhere,
- 17:30Speaker 5: you know. But you know, I just feel like the
- 17:35Speaker 5: what you're saying as far as being the biggest out
- 17:36Speaker 5: of there now that she just came with me having
- 17:38Speaker 5: that mentality not even wanting to be the biggest round
- 17:42Speaker 5: here or whatever. You feel what I'm saying. And it's
- 17:45Speaker 5: still the same way.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Now. You were Were you ever signed to a major?
- 17:49Speaker 1: Were you always independent?
- 17:51Speaker 5: Yeah? I was signed to a major.
- 17:52Speaker 1: Who were you signed to? Now correct me if I'm wrong.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Was this through anyone?
- 17:58Speaker 5: Or uh? It was? I got it through on South
- 18:01Speaker 5: Coast Music.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Group South Coast Music Group because I did kind of
- 18:04Speaker 1: hear A couple of people said, because you was around
- 18:09Speaker 1: the baby a little.
- 18:09Speaker 5: Bit, right, Yeah, that's my boy.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Did did big did the big dog? What's what's the
- 18:15Speaker 1: big dog over the south Southeast arm reach out to you?
- 18:19Speaker 1: Or who?
- 18:19Speaker 2: Who?
- 18:19Speaker 1: Gras?
- 18:20Speaker 5: I was doing business with Honor like on some radio
- 18:22Speaker 5: type tip at first, and then he just reached back
- 18:25Speaker 5: out to me. It was like, let's run it and
- 18:27Speaker 5: we just put together something and.
- 18:28Speaker 1: That make you go to North Carolina? Or did you stay?
- 18:31Speaker 5: He came? He came down in South Carolina. You know,
- 18:33Speaker 5: charlot ain't number our way. Okay, you don't want that
- 18:36Speaker 5: bridge that ship together like they always to say, because
- 18:39Speaker 5: people probably already don't know the difference unless you really know.
- 18:42Speaker 5: We don't want to just put it together. A's just
- 18:44Speaker 5: just made it one like the Carolinas.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Now, how was that situation because you were recording with them, guys,
- 18:49Speaker 1: You was with them, guys? Did that mold you into
- 18:53Speaker 1: who you are now? Or were you kind of already
- 18:55Speaker 1: self sustained ship.
- 18:57Speaker 5: I was already like having mostly just just hungry with it,
- 19:00Speaker 5: not having real guidance stuff, you know what I'm saying.
- 19:02Speaker 5: They came and made it more like organized from structure
- 19:07Speaker 5: and stuff like that.
- 19:08Speaker 1: So what was your what was your first big signal
- 19:12Speaker 1: single that just took you to the next level?
- 19:16Speaker 5: Like before, My first single that really got me in
- 19:19Speaker 5: emotion was the song I had with Young dalh Long
- 19:22Speaker 5: Little Doll. It was a song called honeyd Bands and
- 19:25Speaker 5: the radio just started playing it and that, and then
- 19:28Speaker 5: it went from a song called Richard Rapper and then
- 19:31Speaker 5: after that it just went just went up from them.
- 19:34Speaker 3: Now that's it hard for up and coming artists in
- 19:37Speaker 3: the Carolina area.
- 19:39Speaker 5: Hell yeah, because it ain't nothing, you know, ain't nothing. Now.
- 19:43Speaker 1: It's not like it's no labels there, it's not really no,
- 19:46Speaker 1: it's it's nobody really looking for me.
- 19:48Speaker 5: But it's it's crazy though, because like soon as like
- 19:50Speaker 5: somebody from out of town get get in emotion, like
- 19:53Speaker 5: get a bus going, Caroline's be the first one to
- 19:55Speaker 5: run them all through, you know.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean that's just that's that circuit.
- 20:00Speaker 2: I don't like it.
- 20:00Speaker 3: I don't like that because I feel the same way
- 20:02Speaker 3: about Arkansas because that's where I'm from. I'm like, how
- 20:05Speaker 3: do y'all support people that's not even from here.
- 20:08Speaker 2: One of y'all support your own people.
- 20:10Speaker 5: It's just I usually try to figure that out, but
- 20:12Speaker 5: I don't.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Even I mean, I think I have an idea because
- 20:15Speaker 1: I'm from West I'm from a small town in Florida
- 20:17Speaker 1: that's close to for a lot of the Miami West
- 20:18Speaker 1: Palm Beach, Florida, and I remember, I remember Little Boozie
- 20:22Speaker 1: used to come to my city at least want some money,
- 20:25Speaker 1: and he was one of my favorite rappers because he
- 20:28Speaker 1: came to the city. I just always think that those
- 20:30Speaker 1: small towns mean something to artists and make the artists.
- 20:34Speaker 1: That's why they Carolina is a very important state for anyone.
- 20:38Speaker 1: It definitely is to go through, especially if you're a
- 20:41Speaker 1: Southern artist. You have to go through. You got to
- 20:43Speaker 1: go through the Carolina before i'd say Atlanta or anything
- 20:47Speaker 1: like that, because Atlanta suck you dry. I feel like
- 20:50Speaker 1: South Carolina, Mississippi, they're gonna suck your drive.
- 20:57Speaker 7: Can you talk about the grind to get to get
- 21:00Speaker 7: getting that record with Dolf? Like, what did you have
- 21:02Speaker 7: to do to to even meet with him to get
- 21:06Speaker 7: that that record finally on the radio.
- 21:08Speaker 5: I ain't gonna lie, Like dog was coming to the
- 21:11Speaker 5: city and I knew the promoter that I was bringing them.
- 21:13Speaker 5: I just told him, like shit, when he gets his
- 21:15Speaker 5: just tell him I want to get a verse. So
- 21:17Speaker 5: I just paid him for the verse back then. And
- 21:20Speaker 5: as far as getting on the radio, much did you
- 21:22Speaker 5: pay him at the time, I think it was like
- 21:26Speaker 5: I think like five thousand, and then I pay him
- 21:28Speaker 5: another five to come to the city shoot the udo
- 21:31Speaker 5: the video. It was a long time ago.
- 21:33Speaker 1: But I would say, did he start fucking with you
- 21:35Speaker 1: after that? Because he's known.
- 21:36Speaker 5: For yeah, hell yeah, he's start locked in. He was
- 21:39Speaker 5: the first person like to stay locked in with me,
- 21:41Speaker 5: Like I donet got featured from a lot of people.
- 21:43Speaker 5: Him and Little Baby was like they was the ones
- 21:45Speaker 5: that stayed locked in with me. So like when I
- 21:48Speaker 5: did that, it just it's just that's what it went
- 21:51Speaker 5: from that, and then that's when I As far as
- 21:54Speaker 5: the radio, I don't know how it got on the radio.
- 21:56Speaker 5: It probably was uh Loyd V for real because on
- 22:02Speaker 5: the radio, yeah, he was there, LOUV being random ship.
- 22:06Speaker 5: So it had to be him.
- 22:07Speaker 7: I did want to ask you real quick, how did
- 22:10Speaker 7: Doff's death impact you when he passed away, since he
- 22:16Speaker 7: was like the first one to really, you know, give
- 22:18Speaker 7: you a chance with the music.
- 22:20Speaker 5: I remember exactly we was in Atlanta when when we
- 22:22Speaker 5: got the phone call. I ain't really believe it, but
- 22:24Speaker 5: that sh it just really just made me just really like,
- 22:28Speaker 5: of course, appreciate life. But it's like, damn, just like
- 22:34Speaker 5: I was me. I don't know, like how to fuck.
- 22:35Speaker 5: I don't really know how it felt, because at the
- 22:37Speaker 5: end of the day, I just felt like that shit
- 22:39Speaker 5: showed you that shit can happen to anybody. Then it
- 22:41Speaker 5: kind of just how you like, like, damn, is it.
- 22:44Speaker 6: Really the way he passed, the way he passed?
- 22:47Speaker 2: How you paranoid?
- 22:48Speaker 5: Of course, like just coming from where you come from.
- 22:50Speaker 5: We be pairing on it already, but it's like, damn,
- 22:52Speaker 5: Like it just put me like damn, this's the type
- 22:54Speaker 5: of vibe everybody in with all this killing in the
- 22:56Speaker 5: industry period, Like I don't get it.
- 23:00Speaker 3: It seems like the to me, the streets is bleeding
- 23:05Speaker 3: more into like the industry more than ever, because I
- 23:09Speaker 3: feel like, you know, I know a lot of people
- 23:12Speaker 3: have their opinions on it, but I feel like hip
- 23:14Speaker 3: hop beef is always just kind.
- 23:15Speaker 5: Of like being you know, cap it was like entertainment.
- 23:18Speaker 5: It was entertainment, but now it's like, if you know
- 23:21Speaker 5: what I'm saying, numboys really got beef. Yeah, it's like
- 23:25Speaker 5: it kind of take the fun out of that ship.
- 23:27Speaker 5: I feel like all the deaths and shit and the
- 23:29Speaker 5: industry and took the fun out of it. Then it's
- 23:30Speaker 5: like everybody overpriced, like the artists overpriced. And then it's
- 23:34Speaker 5: like the killing with this shit is like it ain't
- 23:36Speaker 5: even really fun, you know what I'm saying, And.
- 23:39Speaker 3: A lot of artists don't even want to do club
- 23:40Speaker 3: appearances anymore because of the vulnerability of you know, posting
- 23:45Speaker 3: in the club versus doing a concert.
- 23:48Speaker 2: It's a little bit different.
- 23:49Speaker 3: But yeah, I just you know, I don't I don't
- 23:53Speaker 3: you know, promote violence or you know, conduct violence anything.
- 23:56Speaker 3: But I would rather see females beef then male rappers
- 24:03Speaker 3: beef because now I'm kind of seeing it now to
- 24:05Speaker 3: where like off these people say somebody each other on
- 24:08Speaker 3: a song or whatever, like.
- 24:09Speaker 5: It was like damn. Then it's just more people just
- 24:11Speaker 5: back to back, like then I think because before DOF
- 24:15Speaker 5: wasn't in like pop smoke or something like that. Yeah,
- 24:18Speaker 5: I smoked, yeah yeah, And then it was just like
- 24:21Speaker 5: it's just too many people, Like I just feel like
- 24:24Speaker 5: so when that just seeing that and just hearing about it,
- 24:28Speaker 5: like damn like DOF and then it's like you can't
- 24:31Speaker 5: really speak on it too much because I got relationship
- 24:33Speaker 5: with the other side too, But I don't get in
- 24:35Speaker 5: the middle of that ship, you know what I'm saying,
- 24:38Speaker 5: whatever supposed to be going on down there.
- 24:39Speaker 6: So it's like, and you still clear of beef your
- 24:42Speaker 6: whole career so far.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I don't really. I don't really see any Like.
- 24:47Speaker 1: I've never heard of any smoke with black.
- 24:50Speaker 2: They don't never heard anything bad about you either.
- 24:52Speaker 5: I don't want them small. I don't want to smoke
- 24:55Speaker 5: with nobody. Let's get the money. We ain't get in
- 24:59Speaker 5: the game to go to war.
- 25:02Speaker 1: Now is this black Zack? And what what's going on
- 25:05Speaker 1: with you mentally at the time when the music is popping?
- 25:07Speaker 1: Like do you have any kids or in a relationship
- 25:09Speaker 1: at that particular?
- 25:10Speaker 7: Your name black Zach? Or is your name Zach my
- 25:13Speaker 7: real name Zach? And I'm black Zachary or Zach okay, zachtly.
- 25:19Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 25:20Speaker 7: I know a lot of black Zach's. Yeah, like a
- 25:23Speaker 7: lot of in my school, like elementary and stuff.
- 25:27Speaker 5: A lot of big that's. I used to hate my
- 25:29Speaker 5: name because I used to be like, it's like I
- 25:30Speaker 5: got like a white name and I never seen I
- 25:32Speaker 5: never met nobody else. I never met nobody else names.
- 25:37Speaker 6: At least three Zachary's who are black.
- 25:39Speaker 2: I don't know anything. I didn't know anybody black names.
- 25:42Speaker 3: I'm like, man, that sounds that sounds like a nurse,
- 25:45Speaker 3: might be the first.
- 25:47Speaker 7: I mean, I'm also an army brad too, so I
- 25:49Speaker 7: moved around every zach that I met. I've never met
- 25:52Speaker 7: a white Zack. Besides the scene the TV.
- 25:56Speaker 1: You're the first black Zach I met. Yeah, see, damn
- 26:00Speaker 1: that's it black Zack. Damn Okay.
- 26:03Speaker 5: A girl gave me that name man in school, A
- 26:06Speaker 5: girl trying to She probably was trolling me, but she
- 26:09Speaker 5: was kind of like she was. She wasn't like no
- 26:11Speaker 5: mean girls. I don't know what she was doing. She
- 26:13Speaker 5: probably asked you some money right now, So I gave
- 26:17Speaker 5: you that name. You old the lit that my camera
- 26:20Speaker 5: shout out you sing, does chandelier.
- 26:23Speaker 2: Yeah, chandelier.
- 26:24Speaker 5: Wow, Okay, she never met nobody name Sandelia, but you
- 26:27Speaker 5: meant some name. That's crazy chandelier.
- 26:31Speaker 6: Never met anybody named Chandelier. Yeah.
- 26:35Speaker 1: Now does Black Zach have any kids?
- 26:37Speaker 5: Yeah? I got three kids? Okay.
- 26:39Speaker 1: How how is it being a father and being in
- 26:42Speaker 1: the industry and doing.
- 26:42Speaker 5: What you do? Oh, it's it's it's fun. But you know,
- 26:45Speaker 5: it'd be like right now, it's like because I'm more
- 26:49Speaker 5: like situated. But at first I was like, be going.
- 26:52Speaker 5: I still be going, but like now it's like, should
- 26:54Speaker 5: I just bring my kids with me? If I got too?
- 26:57Speaker 5: But you know, it's just it's great being the father
- 27:01Speaker 5: for sure.
- 27:01Speaker 6: When did you start having kids?
- 27:04Speaker 5: Think I had my first child? I was like nineteen okay, yeah, was.
- 27:09Speaker 6: This before rap? Or and that's what made you want
- 27:11Speaker 6: to take it serious?
- 27:12Speaker 5: Or I had just started rapping? Okay mm fresh out
- 27:15Speaker 5: of school type shoot.
- 27:16Speaker 1: Mm okay, Now I'm super cool with this, uh, young lady.
- 27:21Speaker 1: I've been a part of her beginning of her artist
- 27:24Speaker 1: street when she started blowing up and all of a sudden,
- 27:26Speaker 1: scroll down my timeline and I see Black Zach and
- 27:30Speaker 1: Renne Root. I said, oh shit, Okay, that's what we're
- 27:34Speaker 1: doing now. So how the hell did black Zack and
- 27:38Speaker 1: Renny Root you become a couple? Did you slider her?
- 27:40Speaker 5: DM?
- 27:42Speaker 1: Y'all both from South Carolina?
- 27:43Speaker 5: Yeah, for sure. I was fucking I was at the club.
- 27:48Speaker 5: Were both in the club, and I think one of
- 27:49Speaker 5: her home girls had a birthday birthday party, and I
- 27:53Speaker 5: went to the club and she she came up on
- 27:54Speaker 5: and she was like, uh, you still talk to her,
- 27:58Speaker 5: old girl, damn. And I was like, nah, you still
- 28:01Speaker 5: talk to old boy. And I got a number. We
- 28:05Speaker 5: put each other, you know, okay, and then from there
- 28:07Speaker 5: we've just been together every day, damn, every day and day.
- 28:11Speaker 2: That's crazy for sure, that's crazy.
- 28:13Speaker 1: Well when did you say I had we together? Now?
- 28:15Speaker 1: Like you my lady, because y'all had Did y'all even
- 28:18Speaker 1: have a conversation?
- 28:20Speaker 5: We ain't even really have conversation? For it was in
- 28:22Speaker 5: Vegas one day. I was on the phone with somebody
- 28:24Speaker 5: and I was like, I'm a kaye when I got
- 28:26Speaker 5: to colm with my girl or whatever, and she was like,
- 28:28Speaker 5: you got a girl, and then it just went from
- 28:31Speaker 5: I guess that was the way it yo.
- 28:33Speaker 3: So she she she pressed you, you know, that's women
- 28:36Speaker 3: way of pressing a man is when they said you
- 28:39Speaker 3: still talk to old girl.
- 28:40Speaker 5: Oh girl.
- 28:43Speaker 1: Now this definitely is different for you because is this
- 28:45Speaker 1: your first relationship with an artist.
- 28:48Speaker 5: Yeah, with the artists for sure and public public.
- 28:51Speaker 2: Was you nervous about going public?
- 28:53Speaker 5: I wasn't nervous. But it's like she done taught me,
- 28:55Speaker 5: like about the trolls and the internet.
- 29:00Speaker 3: Yeah, all that type, like you're gonna getting weird dms.
- 29:02Speaker 3: Don't worry about that stuff.
- 29:03Speaker 5: Hell yeah, I ain't, you know, I ain't. I want
- 29:06Speaker 5: to really into all that shit, but I see as
- 29:08Speaker 5: far as that how that shit goes.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Do we got some music with y'all, Yeah, for sure,
- 29:13Speaker 1: like this little joint project or some Nah.
- 29:15Speaker 5: We ain't got no joint project yet. Yeah, okay, but
- 29:17Speaker 5: we gotta. We got a record on the ALM. I
- 29:20Speaker 5: just put out the four to eight hours. We got
- 29:21Speaker 5: to know we're about to actually shoot that video on.
- 29:24Speaker 1: The second in the second like today, nah, like three
- 29:28Speaker 1: four days okay, Okay.
- 29:30Speaker 7: Taking it back to the music, in twenty nineteen, you
- 29:32Speaker 7: signed to deal with Interscope. What's the biggest difference that
- 29:35Speaker 7: you found being an independent artist versus being on a
- 29:38Speaker 7: major label.
- 29:40Speaker 5: It's supposed to be more organized, but I don't really
- 29:43Speaker 5: feel like it was no difference because like even with
- 29:46Speaker 5: the deal, like you still got to move like an
- 29:48Speaker 5: independent artist. I feel like like I wasn't gonna sit
- 29:52Speaker 5: around like wait on them to set videos up and
- 29:56Speaker 5: shit like that. Like I just got relationships and just
- 29:59Speaker 5: just kept going.
- 30:00Speaker 6: Did they want you to wait on them or try
- 30:03Speaker 6: to position you to make you wait?
- 30:05Speaker 5: Yeah, for sure. You know they played a little whatever game.
- 30:08Speaker 5: Try to blame it on this personal we're gonna get
- 30:11Speaker 5: this person to do this, But I just always used
- 30:14Speaker 5: to just get it done and then collect later.
- 30:16Speaker 6: What was your deal with them?
- 30:17Speaker 7: What was the details of the deal, Like did you
- 30:20Speaker 7: have a distribution or were you Is it a.
- 30:23Speaker 5: Three sixty on five hour five album deal type shit?
- 30:27Speaker 5: But I did all the albums and then ship. It
- 30:30Speaker 5: was cool.
- 30:32Speaker 6: Oh you already did your real fast like more year?
- 30:35Speaker 5: No?
- 30:35Speaker 1: No, no, like two years, so you drive five projects
- 30:39Speaker 1: of two years?
- 30:40Speaker 2: Damn.
- 30:40Speaker 6: Yeah, they promote them heavy, or.
- 30:43Speaker 5: That's why I said what it was supposed to be
- 30:45Speaker 5: more organized, but hell no, I don't feel like they
- 30:47Speaker 5: promoted them heavy. That's why I got out of this
- 30:49Speaker 5: situation because I'm like, shit, if I'm a continue to
- 30:52Speaker 5: move like independent artists, I might as well just get
- 30:55Speaker 5: get them out my business. Yeah, I mean, or was
- 30:57Speaker 5: like this in the type of situation we had, It
- 30:59Speaker 5: wasn't on the aren't gonna really go against that.
- 31:01Speaker 3: I feel like being signed with a major label is
- 31:03Speaker 3: different from different artists, you know what I mean, like
- 31:06Speaker 3: if you really pay attention, Like some artists get on
- 31:09Speaker 3: a major label and it works out. Some artists get
- 31:11Speaker 3: on a major label and they say, well, you know,
- 31:13Speaker 3: I still feel independent. What was I know you was
- 31:16Speaker 3: talking about, you know, them scheduling video shoots and other
- 31:19Speaker 3: stuff like that. What was some of the things that
- 31:21Speaker 3: was difficult for you coming up as an independent artist
- 31:24Speaker 3: now being with a major.
- 31:25Speaker 2: Label, Like, what was some of the things? But you
- 31:27Speaker 2: was like, man, I don't like this.
- 31:28Speaker 5: I feel like with a major label, if you're an
- 31:32Speaker 5: upcoming artist, I don't think it's good to sign to
- 31:35Speaker 5: a major if you know, if you don't got too
- 31:38Speaker 5: But for like an artist that really got motion and
- 31:41Speaker 5: you need bigger platform that it's good for bigger platforms
- 31:44Speaker 5: and shit like that, and it may work as far.
- 31:47Speaker 5: In my situation, I just feel like I wasn't getting
- 31:50Speaker 5: to push and the certain opportunities and platforms that you know,
- 31:56Speaker 5: I was supposed to get. You know what I'm saying,
- 31:59Speaker 5: I don't hate. I ain't bitter for that. I just
- 32:02Speaker 5: just wanted to get my business together so I can
- 32:04Speaker 5: It was a great learning Expench feel.
- 32:07Speaker 3: Do you think that being on a roster with other
- 32:10Speaker 3: artists that are you know, that are big in the mainstream,
- 32:14Speaker 3: do you feel like that plays a part and you
- 32:17Speaker 3: know you're getting that pushes coming in as as the
- 32:19Speaker 3: new guy that's you know, coming from the independent ground.
- 32:22Speaker 5: Of course, of course, because I mean that's what's having
- 32:24Speaker 5: the emotion and with me like I had man like
- 32:29Speaker 5: I feel like not to be on CACA shit like
- 32:32Speaker 5: I had paper. So it's like I feel like they
- 32:34Speaker 5: ain't they felt like they ain't had the word about me,
- 32:37Speaker 5: you know what I'm saying, Like they ain't had like
- 32:39Speaker 5: to hold my hand, you feel what I'm saying because
- 32:42Speaker 5: at the time, I ain't knowing about tour support. I
- 32:44Speaker 5: ain't knowing about none of these budgets that I really got.
- 32:47Speaker 5: I'm just booking my home. You know, you got your
- 32:49Speaker 5: own money to do it. Yeah, I'm doing all this shit.
- 32:51Speaker 5: I'm on the whole tour paying all this shit out
- 32:54Speaker 5: of my pocket when I got tour support, but I
- 32:57Speaker 5: got all that back like with my Lord shut out, Lauren,
- 33:00Speaker 5: you got a good lawyer, yeah too. But that type ship,
- 33:05Speaker 5: it was just more to learn what.
- 33:06Speaker 3: They didn't even tell. They didn't even tell you, like
- 33:08Speaker 3: like you ain't. But see, that's why sometimes it's a
- 33:11Speaker 3: problem when you're coming in in the game as an
- 33:13Speaker 3: independent artist, and labels and other people know like, man,
- 33:16Speaker 3: they got their own money, like we ain't really got
- 33:18Speaker 3: to put too much behind this artist. Because when you
- 33:22Speaker 3: when you when you are up and coming and you
- 33:24Speaker 3: just home, you're like, man, I ain't got no money.
- 33:25Speaker 2: I'm just trying to make it. I feel like, yo,
- 33:27Speaker 2: that's crazy.
- 33:28Speaker 5: I'm just going to see I'm on another person tour.
- 33:30Speaker 5: So I'm thinking, like ship, it's an opportunity. It's just
- 33:33Speaker 5: an opportunity. I just got to look at like the
- 33:35Speaker 5: opportunity ship I have been on. It was on Baby
- 33:39Speaker 5: Tour and money Ball Tour. Who wasn't want on? I
- 33:44Speaker 5: think that was it. We don went on like pad
- 33:50Speaker 5: like my flight Psion.
- 33:53Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, but they looking like he already got money.
- 33:58Speaker 3: He'll be all right, just telling him like, come.
- 33:59Speaker 5: On right right, And that was the That's why I
- 34:02Speaker 5: feel like the major downfall for me was too like
- 34:05Speaker 5: and really not knowing the game all the way, like
- 34:09Speaker 5: not knowing the business all the way, you know what
- 34:11Speaker 5: I'm saying. Me and my brothers came in and shit,
- 34:13Speaker 5: just trying to figure it out.
- 34:15Speaker 1: Verst you probably wasn't even complaining or nothing.
- 34:17Speaker 3: Nah.
- 34:18Speaker 1: You know, usually when the artist is broke, they complained up,
- 34:22Speaker 1: they complained.
- 34:23Speaker 5: But it made sense though it But that's how I
- 34:25Speaker 5: get it now, I get it. That's sort of God,
- 34:27Speaker 5: I get it now.
- 34:28Speaker 7: This was you signed in twenty nineteen, you had the pandemic,
- 34:32Speaker 7: twenty twenty, twenty twenty one, twenty two. It's you know,
- 34:35Speaker 7: everybody's trying to figure everything out. Do you feel like
- 34:39Speaker 7: that was another part of your your downfall with the
- 34:43Speaker 7: major label?
- 34:44Speaker 5: Most definitely, Almost definitely think because like we had a
- 34:48Speaker 5: good momentum at the time, and then it because we
- 34:50Speaker 5: did the Caroline Knocko then we dropped the short feelm
- 34:54Speaker 5: with it, and we was planning on and we had
- 34:57Speaker 5: great motion at that time. It was a great momentum,
- 34:59Speaker 5: and then it's just like the words just shut down.
- 35:01Speaker 2: Because you had the election all coming up, the pandemic,
- 35:05Speaker 2: you know, and.
- 35:06Speaker 6: People were scared to come outside, so you can't do
- 35:08Speaker 6: any shows.
- 35:09Speaker 5: You couldn't do no show. But we still had to
- 35:10Speaker 5: fight through it and drop music and try to scream
- 35:13Speaker 5: even through that. Excuse me, I think we dropped like
- 35:15Speaker 5: two albums during that time, two three hours during that time.
- 35:18Speaker 5: And like you say, you couldn't really like couldn't really
- 35:21Speaker 5: like to put it out there like that for real,
- 35:25Speaker 5: you know what I'm saying. But throughout that whole time,
- 35:27Speaker 5: I was just really trying to figure out my situation,
- 35:30Speaker 5: figure out, you know what I'm saying, just getting a
- 35:32Speaker 5: business side right. And I was going through a lot
- 35:34Speaker 5: of personal stuff too that had my mind smoky. So
- 35:38Speaker 5: by trying the world open back up for real, and
- 35:40Speaker 5: I dropped started dropping more music for real, Like it
- 35:44Speaker 5: was perfect time.
- 35:45Speaker 6: When you say you were going through a lot, was
- 35:47Speaker 6: it mentally internally yourself or family, your kids or anything.
- 35:53Speaker 5: It was like a lot of sid situations with people
- 36:00Speaker 5: around me that ain't really had nothing to do with me,
- 36:05Speaker 5: kind of put me in a kind of a spot
- 36:07Speaker 5: I ain't never really been there, so I had to
- 36:09Speaker 5: kind of like fall back and really just readjust and
- 36:14Speaker 5: that's how it was. So it's just kind of like
- 36:17Speaker 5: just you know, that shit can mentally kind of kind
- 36:20Speaker 5: of fucked with your love bit when you used to
- 36:22Speaker 5: be around a lot certain people, a certain amount of
- 36:25Speaker 5: certain kind of people, you know what I'm saying, and
- 36:27Speaker 5: then they just get taken away from.
- 36:29Speaker 6: Me, and then like they passed away, not even.
- 36:31Speaker 5: Passed away, but just certain situations happened where people just
- 36:35Speaker 5: got to go away for a little whit, like jail
- 36:38Speaker 5: type shit.
- 36:39Speaker 6: Okay, so you went to jail.
- 36:40Speaker 5: Yeah, I went to jail.
- 36:42Speaker 6: How did you get through that? Were you talking to somebody?
- 36:46Speaker 5: My girl helped me get through that shit for sure,
- 36:50Speaker 5: and shit, just just just staying like believing in myself.
- 36:55Speaker 5: Like I'm real strong minded too, so like shit, I
- 36:57Speaker 5: know I was gonna ready to get through that shit.
- 37:00Speaker 3: And I know it's probably hard to especially you, you know,
- 37:03Speaker 3: you starting to gain success and momentum in the rap
- 37:06Speaker 3: industry and then it kind of kind of like a
- 37:08Speaker 3: slippery slow when the streets because your homeboys may still
- 37:11Speaker 3: be doing what they doing and you like right, I'm
- 37:14Speaker 3: legit man, Like you know, I'm doing the music and
- 37:16Speaker 3: stuff like that, and you know, I know it's probably
- 37:18Speaker 3: kind of hard, especially when they like, you know, they
- 37:22Speaker 3: still doing what they doing, but they're homie, so they
- 37:24Speaker 3: still gonna be around you, right.
- 37:26Speaker 5: Yeah, And and it kind of put it kind of
- 37:28Speaker 5: put a target on your back that you ain't ask for.
- 37:30Speaker 5: But then at the end of the day, it's your
- 37:32Speaker 5: partners too, right.
- 37:33Speaker 6: Yeah, Well today you have forty eight hours.
- 37:36Speaker 5: Forty eight hours out right now, we're probably gonna do
- 37:39Speaker 5: like a deluxe to that. And then I want to
- 37:41Speaker 5: get back into that Caroline Knockout ship and shoot that film,
- 37:44Speaker 5: finish that film and shit, and I want to do
- 37:47Speaker 5: ship that trapelize that part too.
- 37:49Speaker 6: You want to be doing any acting other than you know, Yeah.
- 37:53Speaker 5: We did that, that Caroline Knocko film. We shot that
- 37:56Speaker 5: whole shit in like three days. It was a great
- 37:58Speaker 5: expense just just doing that sh it was like twelve
- 38:00Speaker 5: hours shooting them shits like twelve hours a day. So
- 38:04Speaker 5: I really like that again, Carler Perry film. That was
- 38:07Speaker 5: the first my first time doing that ship. But it
- 38:09Speaker 5: was a good it was a good spend.
- 38:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, let us know, if you need some extras, you.
- 38:12Speaker 1: Know radio a little podcast scene.
- 38:19Speaker 5: You know what I'm saying, Let's do it. We got
- 38:21Speaker 5: Nola coming out. What's Nola saying? I like Nola featuring
- 38:25Speaker 5: me ring and Big Lecks.
- 38:27Speaker 1: That's already on the project.
- 38:30Speaker 2: About how the girls going crazy in the club.

- 39:00Speaker 1: have kids and he said he does too. But when
- 39:04Speaker 1: we have sex, he wears protection. If we both want kids,
- 39:07Speaker 1: why are we using protection? What's his deal? You think
- 39:12Speaker 1: that man don't want kids? That's what it sounds like,
- 39:16Speaker 1: right to be there with him?
- 39:18Speaker 5: I mean something right, he don't want to take it off.
- 39:20Speaker 3: You know, sometimes men just agree with what women want
- 39:25Speaker 3: just to just you know, have good standing in a relationship.
- 39:29Speaker 1: Should say this with my camera. That's my camera right there.
