What Did Jesus Write in the Dirt? (John 8:1-11) | Daily Devotional & Bible Study
Today we look at the moment in John 8 when Jesus bends down and writes in the dirt while a crowd waits to condemn a woman. We walk through the main ideas scholars have about what He wrote, but we spend even more time on what His silence and posture said to the accusers. This scene invites us to pause, look at our own hearts, and let His mercy shape how we see sin and judgment.
"But when they persisted in asking Him, He straightened up, and said to them, "He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." (John 8:7)
