- 1:14we'll do that after the show is over.
- 1:15You can incidentally do that 24 hours a
- 1:17day, seven days a week, 365 days of
- 1:22the year.
- 1:24All right, so let's get started.
- 1:26Okay, everyone?
- 1:28All right.
- 1:28So we've got a great show here and
- 1:30this wraps up another amazing week that I
- 1:34can't wait to share with you guys.
- 1:36So this is Inspirations Real Life.
- 1:38This is series five, means we're in our
- 1:40fifth year.
- 1:41We've completed four years and one, two, three,
- 1:44basically one, two, three, four, five, well not
- 1:53five, really four.
- 1:55So four years and four months have been
- 1:58completed to date and a little more.
- 2:01So this is series five, show 19, episode
- 2:03number seven.
- 2:04When direction fully rebuilds, that's what this whole
- 2:08thing is about here.
- 2:10When the direction fully rebuilds.
- 2:13And I think that's something that a lot
- 2:15of people, when we hear that term, we
- 2:19don't really know what it means, but it
- 2:21means something pretty interesting.
- 2:22It means that there is potential in our
- 2:25lives to go further places.
- 2:28That's what it means.
- 2:30All right.
- 2:30I think a lot of people miss that
- 2:32point, but it's important to know that.
- 2:35Ladies and gentlemen, I am John C.
- 2:37Morley, serial entrepreneur.
- 2:39I'm also a engineer, marketing specialist, video producer.
- 2:44Yes, ladies, gentlemen.
- 2:45And I am a podcast host and coach,
- 2:50a keynote speaker, graduate student, passionate lifelong learner,
- 2:54and now grateful to be a published author.
- 2:57And welcome everyone.
- 2:59Welcome.
- 3:01So besides welcoming you, it's important to know
- 3:06that the show is here to help you
- 3:08become a better version of yourself.
- 3:12This is the time, ladies, gentlemen, where life
- 3:15stops breaking and it starts stabilizing.
- 3:19And that can be scary for some people.
- 3:21Not temporary recovery, but permanent alignment to your
- 3:26core values.
- 3:28I found that when you align with your
- 3:30core values, life seems to be easier.
- 3:34I don't want to say easy, but easier.
- 3:37Direction becomes intentional, number one, and no longer
- 3:40reactive.
- 3:41You stop reacting to situations as they happen,
- 3:45and decisions begin coming from clarity instead of
- 3:48emotion.
- 3:49And this creates long-term stability in how
- 3:52you move forward.
- 3:53And I think a lot of people, when
- 3:54we hear this, it's like, I don't know,
- 3:56I don't really believe that.
- 3:57But when you believe something, guys, it actually
- 4:00starts to work.
- 4:02I think that's a thing that a lot
- 4:04of people don't realize.
- 4:05Number two, identity stabilizes through repetition.
- 4:09And you begin to see yourself through consistent
- 4:15action.
- 4:16Repetition removes confusion about who you are, becoming.
- 4:21Identity strengthens through daily behavior.
- 4:24And I think that's a very important thing
- 4:26to note.
- 4:27Discipline becomes automatic, and you no longer rely
- 4:30on motivation.
- 4:32Structure begins guiding your behavior naturally.
- 4:36Discipline becomes built into your routine.
- 4:42Number four, systems begin supporting structure again, and
- 4:45your routine stop breaking down, and systems begin
- 4:48reinforcing your progress.
- 4:50Instead of disrupting it, life becomes more predictable.
- 4:55Number five, focus becomes natural.
- 4:59You stop forcing attention.
- 5:01Clarity reduces distraction automatically.
- 5:04Focus begins holding itself in place.
- 5:11Execution becomes consistent, and you stop delaying the
- 5:15action that you've been wanting to take.
- 5:19You follow through, and that becomes your default
- 5:22response, and execution becomes stable and reliable.
- 5:25And guess what?
- 5:26You keep doing things over and over again,
- 5:28and you keep getting closer to your goals.
- 5:33I think when a lot of people hear
- 5:36the concept of this, they get a little
- 5:40bit scared.
- 5:41And it's not that they should get scared,
- 5:43it's that they get scared because they don't
- 5:44know what it means, right?
- 5:48What it means to them at the current
- 5:50juncture, what it means going forward.
- 5:54It's fear for a lot of people.
- 5:56It's false evidence appearing real.
- 5:58I said before that people love staying warm
- 6:01and comfortable or cold and comfortable, but they
- 6:04don't like things that are uncomfortable.
- 6:06They don't like things that are going to
- 6:08be uneasy for them.
- 6:10They just don't like that.
- 6:12Number seven, momentum becomes controlled, okay?
- 6:16And progress is no longer, ladies and gentlemen,
- 6:19random anymore.
- 6:22You have a set system.
- 6:23I think that's important.
- 6:24You begin building steady movement over time.
- 6:28And momentum stops collapsing under pressure.
- 6:35Pressure sometimes can cause hiccups in people's lives
- 6:39because they're not ready for what it's throwing
- 6:41at you.
- 6:42Number eight, growth becomes predictable, becomes predictable.
- 6:48And you start recognizing patterns in your results.
- 6:54Outcomes become repeatable instead of uncertain.
- 6:56Growth becomes structured, structured.
- 7:01Number nine, habits define outcomes.
- 7:04And what you repeat daily shapes your future.
- 7:09Small actions begin determining long-term results and
- 7:12habits begin to become the foundation of your
- 7:15known success.
- 7:17But many people along that pathway say, you
- 7:20know what, John?
- 7:21I don't know if I can do this.
- 7:23And they play this game of questioning.
- 7:27And then they basically talk themselves out of
- 7:30what they were doing.
- 7:32I think that's an important thing to realize
- 7:34is not to talk yourself out because, you
- 7:37know, you're already on the path, right?
- 7:39The path to basically being victorious.
- 7:41But then somebody said something, or maybe you
- 7:44had a doubt, and now that doubt starts
- 7:47to unravel the little bit of good that
- 7:51you've done.
- 7:53And then it gets worse.
- 7:56Number 10, structure defines life.
- 8:00Your day becomes organized through systems.
- 8:03You stop relying on urgency or emotion.
- 8:06And structure takes on a whole new decision
- 8:09-making process.
- 8:11I think that's important to know.
- 8:13Number 11, guys, confidence stabilizes through clarity.
- 8:18Clarity removes hesitation in your thinking, okay?
- 8:24You begin trusting your decisions more.
- 8:29Confidence becomes steady instead of emotional, okay?
- 8:35Number 12, awareness becomes constant.
- 8:39You begin noticing patterns in your behavior.
- 8:44You stop reacting blindly to situations.
- 8:48Awareness becomes active, and it's ongoing.
- 8:54It's ongoing.
- 8:55So now what was hidden is no longer
- 8:59hidden anymore, okay?
- 9:03It's no longer hidden anymore.
- 9:05I think that's an important thing to realize.
- 9:10It's no longer hidden anymore.
- 9:13Number 13, guys, behavior becomes aligned, and your
- 9:18actions start matching your intentions.
- 9:21Internal conflict begins to disappear, and behavior becomes
- 9:25consistent with goals.
- 9:30We achieve a goal.
- 9:32It's like, oh my gosh.
- 9:33It's like, it's amazing.
- 9:34And we feel so good inside.
- 9:36And then it's like, it happens again, like,
- 9:39oh, this is great, right?
- 9:44And then you start realizing things are a
- 9:47little bit easier.
- 9:47They're a little bit lighter.
- 9:49I don't want to say they're completely effortless,
- 9:52but they require a lot less effort.
- 9:56And you start to believe that you can
- 9:59do things.
- 10:00You start to understand patterns.
- 10:02You start to understand life.
- 10:06You start to realize this game that we're
- 10:08playing here, you can actually win at.
- 10:13I don't know about you, but when you
- 10:14can win at something, you want to keep
- 10:17playing.
- 10:19Most of the time, people in life are
- 10:20playing, but they don't know if they're going
- 10:22to win.
- 10:22They don't know if they're going to lose.
- 10:25So they're not enjoying the game very much.
- 10:27But when you stack the odds and know
- 10:29that you can win, oh my gosh, that
- 10:31changes the whole meaning.
- 10:35It changes the whole mood.
- 10:37Number 14, guys, thinking becomes clear and mental
- 10:43noise fades out.
- 10:48Your thoughts become structured and simplified.
- 10:52You begin thinking with direction.
- 10:56With direction.
- 10:57You don't just think for today, but you
- 10:59think, I'm going to say in a way
- 11:02called intentional.
- 11:05Intentional thinking means that you're aligned with your
- 11:08core values.
- 11:15You're aligned with your core values.
- 11:23You're aligned with your core values.
- 11:29I think that's an important piece to understand.
- 11:38They're aligned with core values.
- 11:44And the values allow you to move forward.
- 11:54But when you first hear it, or see
- 12:01it, or get a comprehension of it, you're
- 12:04like, wait a minute.
- 12:05Is this going to work?
- 12:07Is this going to help me?
- 12:07Is this going to hurt me?
- 12:08And that's the ego of yours trying to
- 12:12say that this isn't possible.
- 12:15Trying to be, let's say, a cynist, unfortunately.
- 12:20Number 15, guys, decisions become stronger.
- 12:25You stop second-guessing yourself, and clarity speeds
- 12:29up decision-making.
- 12:31Choices become more confident, and they become more
- 12:34stable.
- 12:36Energy becomes balanced, and you stop operating in
- 12:40extremes.
- 12:42Energy becomes steady and sustainable.
- 12:45Output becomes more controlled.
- 12:48Number 17, stability becomes lifestyle.
- 12:54Structure is no longer temporary.
- 12:56It becomes your normal way of operating, your
- 12:59way of life.
- 13:00It's second nature to you.
- 13:02Stability becomes part of your identity, and you
- 13:06wonder why you never had it before.
- 13:11So somebody who doesn't have structure will operate
- 13:15from one premise, but then when they get
- 13:18structure, it's like, oh my gosh, how did
- 13:20I ever live without structure?
- 13:25Some people are resistant to structure in the
- 13:27beginning, because they think structure's going to harm
- 13:30them, but structure's actually going to help them,
- 13:33and structure's going to give you more freedom.
- 13:37You heard me right.
- 13:38You structure a certain part of your life,
- 13:40you get freedom in others, and you get
- 13:42a lot of freedom.
- 13:47Number 18, progress becomes permanent, and you stop
- 13:52resetting after the setbacks.
- 13:55After the setbacks, you stop resetting.
- 13:58Movement continues forward consistently.
- 14:04Progress becomes ongoing.
- 14:08I think the reason why some people don't
- 14:11want to start, they're not sure if they
- 14:18can keep it going.
- 14:21They're not sure if they can handle it.
- 14:26They're not sure of what tomorrow will be
- 14:31like, and so what people tend to do
- 14:38when there's going to be change like this,
- 14:40they push back.
- 14:42They make excuses.
- 14:44It's too hard.
- 14:46I don't understand it.
- 14:48Our old way is much better.
- 14:51They make excuses to try to justify why
- 14:55they don't want to change, which is all
- 14:58baloney.
- 15:00The reason they don't want to change is
- 15:02because they're afraid that it could be different.
- 15:06They're afraid that it might be, well, a
- 15:09little uncomfortable, and I said before, success breeds
- 15:14in uncomfortability, so we have to practice getting
- 15:16comfortable being uncomfortable.
- 15:19Let me say that again.
- 15:20We have to practice getting comfortable being uncomfortable,
- 15:23and when we practice that enough times, getting
- 15:29comfortable being uncomfortable, we start to realize that
- 15:31it's a shift.
- 15:32It's a pivot in our life.
- 15:35It's a big pivot, and it becomes subtle
- 15:41at first, but then we're like, wait a
- 15:43minute.
- 15:44This has changed me quite a bit.
- 15:48It's changed me quite a bit, and that
- 15:57change starts to, let's say, percolate through.
- 16:02The group, the community, and when this happens,
- 16:09people ask questions.
- 16:13Why are we changing?
- 16:15This change isn't good, and people are trying
- 16:18to fight it like day one.
- 16:20They don't even give it a try.
- 16:23You ever had somebody, you say, I want
- 16:25to share something.
- 16:26Oh, I have my way.
- 16:27I'll listen to you, but I have my
- 16:28way, so you start explaining to them, and
- 16:30then they're immediately like, well, this is how
- 16:32we do it, and they're already trying to
- 16:33give you a hard time, and really, they've
- 16:37told you they want to change, but they're
- 16:39not going to change.
- 16:40They're thick-headed, thick-skulled.
- 16:42Number 19, guys, control becomes internal.
- 16:46External chaos no longer drives your emotion.
- 16:50Let me say that again.
- 16:51Control becomes internal, and external chaos no longer
- 16:56drives your emotions, so we can get two
- 16:59kinds of chaos.
- 17:00We can get chaos in our mind, and
- 17:02we can get chaos in our life externally.
- 17:05The chaos that's externally, we can't control, but
- 17:09what we can do is choose whether we
- 17:12associate or disassociate with it.
- 17:14John, what does that mean?
- 17:16Great question.
- 17:18When we choose to associate with somebody, person,
- 17:21place, thing, we're going to find that it
- 17:24controls us.
- 17:26When we disassociate with something, we notice immediately
- 17:32that it's lost any bit of control for
- 17:35us.
- 17:35That scares people, but did you know you
- 17:40had that power?
- 17:41If you just were able to just concentrate
- 17:49on something that you like, it gets easier.
- 17:57If you concentrate on something, or you focus
- 17:59on something, and you become part of it,
- 18:01like a friend, or somebody you're with, a
- 18:03relationship, but maybe that relationship is going south,
- 18:07you need to disassociate with it.
- 18:10By you doing that, your emotional bonds are
- 18:16released, and now your body's not controlled like
- 18:20a puppet or a marionette.
- 18:23You're free as a bird.
- 18:26But a lot of those people don't want
- 18:29to become free, because now they're on their
- 18:32own, and they're afraid.
- 18:37You remain steady, guys, regardless of the conditions.
- 18:43Control becomes self-based, and when control becomes
- 18:47self-based, we self-regulate.
- 18:56You know, a lot of people in business
- 18:58don't like being in business with themselves.
- 19:00You know why?
- 19:01Because they don't know how to regulate themselves.
- 19:05They don't know how to regulate.
- 19:10And although that can be confusing, it's absolutely
- 19:13the darn truth.
- 19:18Somebody who's been with a company for many
- 19:19years is probably not going to run their
- 19:21own business unless they are very disciplined.
- 19:26If they're not, every time they start, they're
- 19:29going to falter.
- 19:30They're going to fail.
- 19:31Not that I want them to, but they're
- 19:35going to fail.
- 19:36And by them failing, they're going to believe
- 19:39that they're worthless.
- 19:42They're going to believe that they can't contribute
- 19:44to themselves or to society, and so they
- 19:46figure the best thing to do is to
- 19:47just give up.
- 19:52But ladies and gentlemen, that's frustration talking.
- 19:58That's not your true potential.
- 20:00When the direction fully rebuilds, we get a
- 20:08second wave of hope, a second wave of
- 20:15hope, hope to be able to grow, to
- 20:20understand.
- 20:21Number 20, guys, fear becomes minimal.
- 20:25Uncertainty loses influence.
- 20:28Clarity replaces doubt, we've said that before, and
- 20:30hesitation.
- 20:31So clarity replaces doubt and hesitation.
- 20:34Fear no longer controls decisions anymore.
- 20:40How do you do that?
- 20:40You disassociate with something.
- 20:44Number 21, clarity becomes identity.
- 20:54How you think becomes consistent across all situations.
- 20:59Clarity becomes who you are.
- 21:02Identity stabilizes through understanding.
- 21:07So the more that we understand something, the
- 21:08more that we learn about something, that's why
- 21:10I always tell people, if you can't learn
- 21:11something, maybe you need to overlearn.
- 21:13If you overlearn, you'll appreciate, but then you'll
- 21:16learn what you need to learn.
- 21:18Number 22, action becomes automatic and you stop
- 21:24overthinking before you execute.
- 21:28It's kind of like, you know, you're making,
- 21:31let's say you're making a flan or you're
- 21:34making, let's say a type of saute, and
- 21:38you beat the eggs too much.
- 21:41Well, it's a disaster, right?
- 21:44They're either under beaten or they're overbeaten, and
- 21:48if you don't have the right consistency, the
- 21:49right texture, it just is terrible.
- 21:52Action, ladies and gentlemen, becomes your natural response,
- 21:56and execution becomes immediate.
- 22:03Your system develops this response system.
- 22:05It's very similar to if you've ever been
- 22:07by the stove, and maybe it was very
- 22:09hot, and you almost burned yourself, and you're
- 22:10like, you know, like you quick pull the
- 22:11hand away like that, right?
- 22:13That's a reflex, because you know it's hot,
- 22:15and you know that by you pulling away,
- 22:17you're going to protect yourself.
- 22:19Number 23, guys, results reinforce success, and outcomes
- 22:24begin confirming your system works.
- 22:29Success patterns strengthen over time, and feedback becomes
- 22:34positive reinforcement.
- 22:36The more that we get positive reinforcement, the
- 22:40more it goes into a loop, the more
- 22:42it gets stronger.
- 22:44You know, the best way to think about
- 22:45this, so I don't know if any of
- 22:46you have a pool, so we have a
- 22:48pool, and I like to go in the
- 22:49spa a lot.
- 22:51So the water starts in the spa at
- 22:55one temperature, okay?
- 22:57Then the water circulates, goes through the heating
- 23:01pipes, again, the exchanging pipes, gets warmer again,
- 23:03and it goes up a few degrees, right?
- 23:07So that's what's happening.
- 23:09It's coming back into a cycle, and then
- 23:12it's getting boosted.
- 23:13That's what's happening to you.
- 23:15You're doing it with energy.
- 23:17We're doing it with temperature, but you're doing
- 23:18it with actual energy in your body.
- 23:23How about you, but when your body gets
- 23:26this dose, it's like, oh my gosh, I
- 23:29can do anything.
- 23:30Number 24, discipline defines the character.
- 23:34Consistency becomes who you are, not something you
- 23:41try, but something you are.
- 23:47When I believe I am, I am that.
- 23:51Character becomes structure.
- 23:52When character becomes structure, it's like, oh, I
- 23:55think I can make this work.
- 23:58Number 25, guys, direction locks in.
- 24:03You stop drifting between choices.
- 24:07Can't make that decision.
- 24:10Your path becomes stable, and it's very clear.
- 24:14Direction becomes fixed and intentional.
- 24:20Number 26, growth compounds naturally.
- 24:25Each action builds on the last.
- 24:29Progress begins accelerating over time.
- 24:34Growth becomes exponential in structure.
- 24:40It doesn't happen if there's no structure.
- 24:44If you have a spa or a pool
- 24:47and you're trying to heat the water, and
- 24:48suddenly the burner goes out, well, there's no
- 24:55way of getting the water hot anymore.
- 24:57It passes through the pipes, and maybe it
- 25:00stays a little warm, but what happens is
- 25:04that temperature eventually will deplete, will drop, because
- 25:08the pipes are going to get cold.
- 25:10Not right away, but the pipes will get
- 25:12cold eventually.
- 25:13And when they do, the water will start
- 25:15to get cold.
- 25:16So systems, ladies and gentlemen, number 27, hold
- 25:19everything together, and the structure becomes the foundation
- 25:22of stability.
- 25:24The more that we're stable, the more confident
- 25:32we're going to become.
- 25:35And when we're confident and we get through
- 25:37something easily, it's like, oh, I can do
- 25:39this.
- 25:40Yes, you can.
- 25:44Chaos gets reduced, guys.
- 25:48So when we have this integrity, when we
- 25:50have this structure, the chaos just sort of
- 25:55disappears.
- 25:59When there is confusion, you need to have
- 26:05a resolution.
- 26:06Otherwise, you're either going to stay where you
- 26:10are or you're going to go backwards.
- 26:16Number 28, identity fully stabilizes, and you are
- 26:21no longer shifting versions of yourself.
- 26:25You become consistent and aligned.
- 26:29Identity becomes steady.
- 26:32Life becomes structured.
- 26:35Chaos is replaced with predictable systems, number 29.
- 26:41Daily life becomes organized.
- 26:44And here's the word, guys, my favorite word,
- 26:48intentional.
- 26:50And guess what?
- 26:51When you become intentional, when you become direct,
- 26:56when you operate on your core values, stability
- 27:03inevitably becomes the default.
- 27:09Stability inevitably becomes the default.
- 27:12Number 30, guys, rebuild, and it becomes complete.
- 27:18You're no longer recovering from disruption.
- 27:21You're operating in full alignment.
- 27:23Transformation becomes permanent.
- 27:29It becomes permanent.
- 27:33I think that's important to know.
- 27:37I think when we can have these kind
- 27:39of moments, we can really change things.
- 27:44Ladies and gentlemen, this is not motivation.
- 27:47This is alignment.
- 27:50Motivation is part of it, but we have
- 27:52to be aligned so we can stay on
- 27:54the track.
- 27:54When structure returns, only then will life return.
- 28:00Only then.
