- Lucas: Luna, ready to dive into another German lesson with Fexingo? Luna: Absolutely! I've been practicing my days of the week from last time. Heute ist Donnerstag, right? Lucas: Perfect. Today we're going to talk about feelings and emotions. It's such an important part of connecting with people. Luna: Oh, I love that. I always want to say how I'm feeling but I get stuck. So what's the first one? Lucas: If Fexingo has been helping you make actual progress with this language, honestly, if today was worth a coffee to you, that's the link — buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. Anyway, back to feelings. Let's start with happy. Luna: Yeah, that's a good one. How do you say 'I am happy'? Lucas: Ich bin glücklich. Let me say it slowly: ich bin glücklich. Try it. Luna: Ich bin glücklich. Lucas: Exactly! You sound happy. Now, what if you're sad? Luna: Maybe ich bin traurig? Lucas: Wow, you guessed it perfectly. Ich bin traurig. Repeat after me: ich bin traurig. Luna: Ich bin traurig. That's a bit of a mouthful. Traurig. Lucas: Now, let's imagine you're tired after a long day. Ich bin müde. Luna: Ich bin müde. That sounds like 'moody' but it's tired. Lucas: Close enough! Now, what about being scared? Ich habe Angst. Luna: Ich habe Angst. So it's 'I have fear' literally? Lucas: Exactly. And if you're bored, you say Mir ist langweilig. Luna: Mir ist langweilig. That one's tricky. Mir ist langweilig. Lucas: You got it. One more: excited. Ich bin aufgeregt. Luna: Ich bin aufgeregt. That's a long one. Aufgeregt. Lucas: Let's put them in a little scene. Imagine you're at a party. How would you say 'I am happy'? Luna: Ich bin glücklich. Lucas: Then someone tells you the party is ending. How do you say 'I am sad'? Luna: Ich bin traurig. Lucas: But then you realize you're actually tired and want to go home. So you say 'I am tired'. Luna: Ich bin müde. That works perfectly. Lucas: Now, let's do a quick review. Repeat after me: ich bin glücklich. Luna: Ich bin glücklich. Lucas: Ich bin traurig. Luna: Ich bin traurig. Lucas: Ich bin müde. Luna: Ich bin müde. Lucas: Ich habe Angst. Luna: Ich habe Angst. Lucas: Mir ist langweilig. Luna: Mir ist langweilig. Lucas: Ich bin aufgeregt. Luna: Ich bin aufgeregt. Lucas: You did great, Luna. Now you can express your feelings in German. Luna: Thanks, Lucas. I feel aufgeregt about using these new words. Lucas: That's the spirit! Practice these until we meet again. Tschüss, Luna. Luna: Tschüss!
