- 1:52Speaker 1: It's been a little while. It has been a while, man.
- 1:54Speaker 1: I feel like I think the last time we did
- 1:58Speaker 1: an interview or something, we did something online Instagram. During
- 2:00Speaker 1: the we did like an IG live. It was when
- 2:03Speaker 1: I was dropping music last year. Yeah, and then we
- 2:06Speaker 1: did the McQueen Summer Party thing. We did the McQueen
- 2:10Speaker 1: Party for sure, which was you know, the whole, the
- 2:12Speaker 1: whole entire pandemic had motherfuckers doing weird ass ship like
- 2:15Speaker 1: I was DJing. Huh, I said, you caught COVID didn't?
- 2:18Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I had it. You never caught it. I did,
- 2:22Speaker 1: he did. I feel like we all did. I caught
- 2:26Speaker 1: it that week when LA had like opened up like
- 2:28Speaker 1: pump faked on us, and I went to Noble and
- 2:31Speaker 1: I went to the studio and then I couldn't taste
- 2:34Speaker 1: and smell anything. I remember that. That was like I
- 2:37Speaker 1: remember it was like end of May or was it
- 2:41Speaker 1: June's It was early June. It was early June, and
- 2:43Speaker 1: everybody it was like, all of a sudden, this mental
- 2:46Speaker 1: thing happened where we all just thought it was over.
- 2:48Speaker 1: I was in fucking Scottsdale turning the fuck up DJing,
- 2:51Speaker 1: and I got I got caught with the pump fake yeah.
- 2:54Speaker 1: And then I was like, wait a minute, I can't smell.
- 2:57Speaker 1: That's the word. I mean. I could still taste and
- 3:00Speaker 1: I didn't really have any like crazy symptoms outside of that.
- 3:02Speaker 1: It was random. I was eating breakfast and I was like,
- 3:07Speaker 1: couldn't taste the orange juice. I'm like, this is weird.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Maybe it's just like bad orange juice or something. So
- 3:12Speaker 1: I'll go upstairs. I got all these essential oils and stuff,
- 3:15Speaker 1: and I'm like shoving peppermint up my nose and I'm like, no,
- 3:18Speaker 1: I can't smell nothing. Yeah. My wife was cooking and
- 3:22Speaker 1: I couldn't smell anything, and I was like, oh fuck,
- 3:25Speaker 1: I just got home from from like a weekend on dazy. Yeah,
- 3:29Speaker 1: and my dog has like this little piece of grass,
- 3:32Speaker 1: like artificial grass that he'd be shitting on sometimes, and
- 3:35Speaker 1: there was like a turret on it. And I was like, yo,
- 3:38Speaker 1: this is the ultimate test. So I got down. I said,
- 3:41Speaker 1: I was like, I don't smell this shit in front
- 3:43Speaker 1: of my I got COVID and then just the whole
- 3:46Speaker 1: crib ended up with it. So the shit test. Yeah,
- 3:48Speaker 1: we were locked down, man. But yeah, I mean it
- 3:51Speaker 1: feels like everybody's kind of finally getting through. Did you
- 3:55Speaker 1: get vaccinated? No, I didn't get vaccinated. Are you like
- 3:57Speaker 1: not going to do it or I'm not just hasn't happened,
- 4:00Speaker 1: totally against it? Yeah, it just hasn't happened yet. They
- 4:03Speaker 1: talking all that shit about traveling and stuff like that. Yeah,
- 4:06Speaker 1: it'll probably help you specifically, some of these countries. You know,
- 4:11Speaker 1: I'm not against it. I'm just not in any rush either.
- 4:15Speaker 1: I hear you. I get both sides, Like I got
- 4:17Speaker 1: homies that are like yo, like I want to see
- 4:19Speaker 1: the first year of this ship past that makes sense
- 4:22Speaker 1: and then let's see you know, because like a lot
- 4:23Speaker 1: of people got the Johnson and Johnson one and then
- 4:26Speaker 1: they pulled that ship off the shelf. Right, So yeah,
- 4:28Speaker 1: I got I just got my ship out the way though,
- 4:30Speaker 1: you got it? Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't think.
- 4:33Speaker 1: I'm not one of those people who think people are
- 4:34Speaker 1: stupid forgetting it. There's I mean, you know, it's probably
- 4:39Speaker 1: going to be some type of consequences. We'll fucking see.
- 4:44Speaker 1: What kind of consequences do you think though? Uh? Me personally? Yeah?
- 4:48Speaker 1: Population control, Yeah, I do. I mean, listen, the population
- 4:54Speaker 1: control dark hole is a serious one, especially when you
- 4:59Speaker 1: start considering, like just I feel like there's so much
- 5:03Speaker 1: shit going on. When we start talking about like elon
- 5:06Speaker 1: Musk and going to planets and you know, the resources
- 5:11Speaker 1: on Earth at the rate that we're creating people, it's
- 5:15Speaker 1: like it's some something's gotta give eventually. I don't know
- 5:18Speaker 1: if we're gonna be here when it happens, but I
- 5:22Speaker 1: could see that. Yeah, it's real. It's real. I mean,
- 5:25Speaker 1: and there's there's people that twisted to come up with
- 5:29Speaker 1: stuff to actually do that. Well, you know. And the
- 5:32Speaker 1: other thing too, is like the idea that COVID came
- 5:37Speaker 1: from a lab was so frowned upon initially when you
- 5:40Speaker 1: would say that, because you know, it's fucked up like nowadays,
- 5:45Speaker 1: like if you if you have any sort of perspective
- 5:48Speaker 1: or bring up any sort of opinion that doesn't go
- 5:50Speaker 1: with either side of you know, society, they label you
- 5:53Speaker 1: as the other side, you know what I mean. So
- 5:56Speaker 1: it's like, hey, there is some like real clues that
- 6:01Speaker 1: would make you think that this came from a lab.
- 6:04Speaker 1: But if you said that a year ago, people be
- 6:06Speaker 1: like you're a Maga Trump freak. But it's like, wait,
- 6:10Speaker 1: like it's not. It's possible to like think for yourself
- 6:13Speaker 1: sometimes without you having to be on you know. Yeah,
- 6:17Speaker 1: I mean, I mean, this thing it gave, It gave
- 6:19Speaker 1: a lot, even just the vaccinations. It just gives a
- 6:22Speaker 1: lot of people some ship to argue about everything. Man,
- 6:26Speaker 1: Oh I got one, Oh I don't have one. Oh
- 6:28Speaker 1: I want one. Oh you don't want one. Oh, you're
- 6:30Speaker 1: dumb for one and one oh, you're stupid for not
- 6:33Speaker 1: wanting one. I just want to stay off Twitter and
- 6:35Speaker 1: the internet. Man. It just gives people some ship to
- 6:37Speaker 1: argue about the brands of fucking uh vaccinations, give people
- 6:43Speaker 1: bragging rights and ship like that. I'm I'm aderna mommy.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Oh yo, you haven't heard again. It sounds about right.
- 6:51Speaker 1: I stay away from all that stuff. It's weird. I
- 6:54Speaker 1: stay away from I know you got to because you're
- 6:57Speaker 1: in it every day, like you have to report back
- 7:00Speaker 1: on that ship. But me, like, I keep it so
- 7:03Speaker 1: far away because like it becomes your reality after a while,
- 7:06Speaker 1: Like it also fucks with your energy. Yeah, I mean,
- 7:09Speaker 1: you know, I feel like I feel like you've done
- 7:11Speaker 1: a really good job of I don't like, I don't
- 7:15Speaker 1: ever see Whiz participating in just bullshit online. No, I
- 7:21Speaker 1: know my place, and you know, like you'll throw a
- 7:23Speaker 1: thought out there and then everyone else will react to it. Yeah,
- 7:27Speaker 1: you'll throw some shit out there, like, yo, don't be
- 7:30Speaker 1: around me if you're smoking backwards right, and then it'll
- 7:33Speaker 1: go on every fucking like hip hop meme page and
- 7:35Speaker 1: then everyone chimes in and then you're your price smoking
- 7:38Speaker 1: you know. I mean, like on some g ship, I
- 7:41Speaker 1: don't even look at this stuff afterwards, Like I'll say
- 7:44Speaker 1: something and then I'll just sit my phone down. That's
- 7:46Speaker 1: how you almost got to do it. Otherwise you drive
- 7:49Speaker 1: yourself crazy reading comment You drop fucking three interviews a week,
- 7:51Speaker 1: and if I dived into the comments on these interviews, nah, God,
- 7:55Speaker 1: but a culture vulture. I just go on about my day, like, yeah,
- 8:00Speaker 1: I don't even realize how many people I pissed off.
- 8:02Speaker 1: But it's cool though, because people need to be pissed off.
- 8:04Speaker 1: People need to you know, have conversations, like you said,
- 8:07Speaker 1: like alternative conversations with it. I just think that we've
- 8:10Speaker 1: gotten to the point. And you know, I think the
- 8:13Speaker 1: Trump shit is a lot to blame with this where
- 8:16Speaker 1: everyone is so tribal with their thoughts to where like,
- 8:21Speaker 1: you know, if you don't agree on everything over here,
- 8:24Speaker 1: that side will just tell you to go fuck themselves.
- 8:26Speaker 1: You know. I was talking to Killer Mike, and uh,
- 8:29Speaker 1: you know, Mike is a big gun advocate, right, which
- 8:32Speaker 1: is okay, but like he's also with Bernie Sanders in
- 8:37Speaker 1: Alabama advocating for unions for Amazon workers. But there's like
- 8:43Speaker 1: people who like agree with Killer Mike on everything else
- 8:47Speaker 1: that will hang him out the dry because he believes
- 8:49Speaker 1: in the Second Amendment, And it's like, what the fuck, Like, yeah,
- 8:53Speaker 1: you should be able to believe in whatever you want to.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Sometimes I just talk about it too. That's the real part,
- 8:59Speaker 1: is like you really can't say shit, you know what
- 9:02Speaker 1: I'm saying. It's like, it shouldn't be like that to
- 9:05Speaker 1: where one conversation will just spark everybody calling you these
- 9:09Speaker 1: names or thinking you're just like we can we can
- 9:12Speaker 1: just talk about it. Maybe I need to learn some
- 9:14Speaker 1: shit that I didn't even fucking know a point of
- 9:16Speaker 1: view on it or whatever whatever. But to be able
- 9:19Speaker 1: to bring the conversation up and not have to, you know,
- 9:22Speaker 1: be boxed in or labeled, Oh my god, and I
- 9:24Speaker 1: have your whole day ruin by you know, other people's
- 9:28Speaker 1: opinions that you don't deserve all of that. That's one
- 9:30Speaker 1: hundred percent. It's crazy. Did you you know? I'm a
- 9:33Speaker 1: big Joe Rogan fan, and I went there, uh with
- 9:36Speaker 1: up Freddie gibbson this podcast, like a couple of months ago.
- 9:39Speaker 1: We went out there, Yeah, did rooms with Joe? Oh sweet,
- 9:42Speaker 1: My fucking face was melted off. Y'all did this rooms
- 9:44Speaker 1: on the show. No, no, no, we did him that
- 9:46Speaker 1: night at a comedy show. I didn't get that. Look.
- 9:49Speaker 1: It was rough, y'all ate just like regular. So I
- 9:52Speaker 1: fucked up because I had an edible uh huh, like
- 9:55Speaker 1: a a pretty strong edible. And then I trooms and
- 10:00Speaker 1: I was drinking like a fish. And then we went
- 10:03Speaker 1: to sixth sixth Halve or sixth Street, sixth Street and
- 10:06Speaker 1: we went bar hopping and bro Texas. Yeah in Austin, Yeah,
- 10:10Speaker 1: because he moved his show down. Yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah.
- 10:12Speaker 1: So it was probably a really it was a really
- 10:14Speaker 1: rough trip for me because I really thought that like
- 10:16Speaker 1: we were gonna get killed. I was paranoid as fuck.
- 10:19Speaker 1: I thought everybody was trying to like smoke Freddy. I
- 10:22Speaker 1: was like, bro, we don't end up like pop smoke
- 10:24Speaker 1: out here. Bro. Like I was really freaking the fuck out.
- 10:26Speaker 1: And then I got and then I just woke up
- 10:28Speaker 1: in my hotel room. It was rough. But but you
- 10:31Speaker 1: went on the Rogan Show, which I thought was super dope.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Did you get like, I feel like that's another guy
- 10:36Speaker 1: who were talking about who like he just speaks freely
- 10:38Speaker 1: for three or four hours at a time, so he's
- 10:39Speaker 1: bound to say some ship that can piss any people off.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Did you get any like blowback from anybody? For no, man,
- 10:45Speaker 1: Actually I got a lot of love from that. Of course.
- 10:48Speaker 1: It was a great interview. Thank you appreciate it. You
- 10:50Speaker 1: guys were fun. We were I just woke up. I
- 10:53Speaker 1: was really excited to do it first of all, and
- 10:56Speaker 1: then when I got there, there was no like real
- 10:59Speaker 1: format or any thing. It was just like, yo, just
- 11:01Speaker 1: sit down and we just start talking. So yeah, I
- 11:05Speaker 1: mean the vibe that I got from him, and of
- 11:07Speaker 1: course is authentic and he's a cool ass dude. But
- 11:11Speaker 1: he just says what he thinks is real and what
- 11:14Speaker 1: he believes, and if he believes it, he believes it.
- 11:16Speaker 1: If he doesn't, he'll ask you and talk to you.
- 11:18Speaker 1: But he's not really going to challenge your opinion. He's
- 11:21Speaker 1: just going to say what he believes. And I'm I'm
- 11:25Speaker 1: cool with that, like everybody's standing on. Also, like the
- 11:28Speaker 1: fact he's very open to your perspective, right, like he'd
- 11:31Speaker 1: be like, oh shit, I didn't even look at it
- 11:33Speaker 1: that way, you know what I mean? Like he has
- 11:34Speaker 1: people from all sides. Nobody get on there and argue
- 11:37Speaker 1: with Joe, they just talk. Everybody just talks, but they
- 11:40Speaker 1: don't always agree. They're not saying the same exact thing,
- 11:44Speaker 1: but they're not fucking going back and forth. And shit,
- 11:46Speaker 1: I feel like if the world was like, they'd be
- 11:48Speaker 1: bad because we's just yelling at each other. Yeah, I mean,
- 11:51Speaker 1: we're tweeting at each other really with lots of caps. Man,
- 11:54Speaker 1: it's weird. I don't even fuck with a lot of
- 11:57Speaker 1: that type of stuff. Y'all are my homies, so it's
- 11:59Speaker 1: like y'all can get anything, you know what I mean.
- 12:01Speaker 1: But really, like on the outside and you know, just
- 12:06Speaker 1: shock value and all that stuff click bait. It's a dark,
- 12:10Speaker 1: real scary place. And I take that shit personally, like
- 12:14Speaker 1: for real, for real, if somebody uses me for a headline,
- 12:18Speaker 1: that's not cool. Like that's not what we're in it for.
- 12:20Speaker 1: So even try to set people up like that and
- 12:23Speaker 1: make things out of I've never been in it for that. Well.
- 12:26Speaker 1: I feel like you also don't do a lot of
- 12:28Speaker 1: like you do interviews, but you're not like you don't
- 12:31Speaker 1: do like a lot of sit down shit, like you
- 12:34Speaker 1: know what I mean. Like I feel like I was
- 12:35Speaker 1: just thinking about it earlier today. I don't. I don't
- 12:37Speaker 1: do a lot of that, but well I do, but
- 12:40Speaker 1: it doesn't go crazy because nobody fucks with me like nobody.
- 12:43Speaker 1: And I feel like you're very good. When someone tries
- 12:46Speaker 1: to hit you with one of those got your joints,
- 12:49Speaker 1: you just shut that shit down. Yeah, for sure. I
- 12:51Speaker 1: mean it's it's definitely a mutual respect where I'm like, Okay,
- 12:55Speaker 1: you gotta do what you gotta do. You got to
- 12:57Speaker 1: try to get these questions off. But I'm not gonna
- 13:00Speaker 1: break my character or you know, my integrity for your headlines.
- 13:04Speaker 1: You did what I'm saying. We're gonna keep it light,
- 13:06Speaker 1: We're gonna keep it cool. And if that's not interesting,
- 13:08Speaker 1: then you don't even want whiz. You know what I'm saying.
- 13:11Speaker 1: But I'm not coming here for no drama or no bullshit.
- 13:14Speaker 1: And I think people really understand that, and they don't
- 13:16Speaker 1: really approach me with that. They don't try to bring
- 13:18Speaker 1: that out. And yeah, I feel very fortunate to have
- 13:21Speaker 1: that be a part of my career. You dig, yeah
- 13:23Speaker 1: one hundred percent. Man, are you still heavy in the gym?
- 13:28Speaker 1: Because man, your transformation just as a dude, Yeah, it's
- 13:32Speaker 1: pretty serious. Little as hell, bro, I mean yeah, like
- 13:35Speaker 1: you know, you were whiz just skinny, skinny, tall, skinny
- 13:38Speaker 1: cat and then all of a sudden you're yoked up
- 13:41Speaker 1: doing kickboxing and all that, man, And it was definitely
- 13:45Speaker 1: like inspiring to see like how committed you were to
- 13:49Speaker 1: not only like getting bigger and getting like stronger, but
- 13:53Speaker 1: also just the the fighting shit. That's like it felt
- 13:56Speaker 1: like you were like you're all in on that. Yeah.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Like for me, like I'm not trying to be the
- 14:02Speaker 1: biggest dude in the world, the biggest gym freak or
- 14:05Speaker 1: anything like that. I think I just kind of started
- 14:08Speaker 1: just to learn. And the more that I started that
- 14:11Speaker 1: I would be able to put like the gym aspect
- 14:14Speaker 1: just into life or music or whatever, art, creativity, science,
- 14:19Speaker 1: excuse me, it all just made more sense and kind
- 14:22Speaker 1: of tied in. And of course you get the physical
- 14:25Speaker 1: benefits from it if you stick with it. Like you
- 14:27Speaker 1: can't just do what I did in like six to
- 14:30Speaker 1: eight months. It takes years to like transform your body,
- 14:34Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. And I'm still in the
- 14:36Speaker 1: process of you know, keeping it going. And because you
- 14:40Speaker 1: were you were trained with Jake lasers. Yeah, yeah, still
- 14:43Speaker 1: I still am there, yeh. And yeah. I mean, you know,
- 14:47Speaker 1: there's a lot of layers to that bro Like there's
- 14:50Speaker 1: there's the business layers. I became an owner in the
- 14:54Speaker 1: PFL that, Yeah, we got gems all over. I'm going
- 14:58Speaker 1: to have my own protein and shake and stuff like that.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Like based off of it, there's like the family aspect.
- 15:06Speaker 1: I know so many fighters around the country, around the world.
- 15:10Speaker 1: We can go to any gym, we can go to
- 15:11Speaker 1: any you know what I mean. It feels like when
- 15:13Speaker 1: you have something like that in common zone, it's almost
- 15:15Speaker 1: like a brotherhood because you're like in your most vulnerable
- 15:17Speaker 1: space with these guys training, sweating, like you know what
- 15:20Speaker 1: I mean. Like you're probably as a rapper, you're so
- 15:23Speaker 1: used to being in situations where you're that motherfucker, Like Yo,
- 15:27Speaker 1: you're headlining every show you're on, everyone's there to see you.
- 15:30Speaker 1: You go to a gym with a bunch of killers,
- 15:31Speaker 1: it's like, you know, you're in a different position. It's
- 15:34Speaker 1: definitely humbling. And you know, anybody who comes from like
- 15:38Speaker 1: our position, we just want to learn. So I feel
- 15:41Speaker 1: like that was always my goal. So when you get
- 15:44Speaker 1: to a point and rap where I'm at, where you're
- 15:46Speaker 1: not really learning too much right, anybody around here. You
- 15:50Speaker 1: want to be the new guy at something, and you
- 15:52Speaker 1: want to have you've mastered the rap game. You want
- 15:55Speaker 1: some OG's around you. You don't want to you know
- 15:57Speaker 1: what I mean, always be the one who everybody's looking
- 16:00Speaker 1: two for everything, And the gym definitely allows me to
- 16:03Speaker 1: do that. With the PFL, how did you get involved
- 16:06Speaker 1: in that? Because for people that there's like they just
- 16:08Speaker 1: did an ESPN dal my producers just did that's a
- 16:12Speaker 1: big deal, man, super big. Yeah. So it's been going
- 16:15Speaker 1: on for about two three years now, so you're you're
- 16:18Speaker 1: a part owner of PFL YEP And basically it's just
- 16:22Speaker 1: alternative to the other fighting leagues. And we have a
- 16:25Speaker 1: regular season and we have playoffs and we have a championship,
- 16:29Speaker 1: and other superstars who competed other places they can come
- 16:33Speaker 1: to the PFL and join the season and we go
- 16:36Speaker 1: off of a point system. So the people with the
- 16:39Speaker 1: most points, that's who advances in their weight class. Is
- 16:42Speaker 1: it similar to like I think a point system? I
- 16:45Speaker 1: think like the way NASCAR does it? Is it kind
- 16:47Speaker 1: of close to them about Nascar? I just know that
- 16:49Speaker 1: they do I just points. I mean I could learn
- 16:53Speaker 1: about NASCAR so essentially because that's a new way of
- 16:58Speaker 1: doing it because you're talking about season. You know, we're
- 17:00Speaker 1: so used to seeing UFC it's a pay per view thing.
- 17:02Speaker 1: It's like, so this is like more like like made
- 17:05Speaker 1: the best person win. Whoever's got the end of the
- 17:08Speaker 1: points goes to the play is it like? Yeah? Playoffs
- 17:10Speaker 1: for show and the champions Fire. You know Clarissa Shills, Yeah,
- 17:14Speaker 1: female boxers, she crossed over to the PFL, so she's
- 17:17Speaker 1: making her M and A the debut with us over there.
- 17:21Speaker 1: So it's gonna be a lot of stuff like that
- 17:22Speaker 1: where you see maybe people from other sports crossover, people
- 17:26Speaker 1: who are superstars in other other leagues they might not have,
- 17:31Speaker 1: you know, got their championship shot, but they come to
- 17:34Speaker 1: the PFL. Would would you guys take on like celebrity fights. Yeah,
- 17:39Speaker 1: Like if one of these Paul bros. Were like, hey man,
- 17:42Speaker 1: I'm trying to get into octagon, why not? I don't
- 17:45Speaker 1: see why not. We would train them up, we would
- 17:48Speaker 1: start him in the season and we see where they go. Yeah,
- 17:52Speaker 1: I mean, you gotta compete, like, it's not gonna be
- 17:54Speaker 1: like a popularity contest. So yeah, I think that that's
- 17:57Speaker 1: those dudes they bang like they really fight. That's what
- 18:00Speaker 1: I'm like. Look, man, like I'm a you know, if
- 18:02Speaker 1: you're a boxing fan, you got to at least be
- 18:03Speaker 1: excited that there's a tension on the sport again because
- 18:07Speaker 1: on the because on the undercards of these fights there's
- 18:09Speaker 1: some real boxing mode. I mean, and like the actual
- 18:12Speaker 1: fights that we've seen so far haven't been like real fights.
- 18:15Speaker 1: They've been more like exhibitions or right right right, you
- 18:18Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. It's like, you know, we get
- 18:20Speaker 1: in there, but the way that they train and what
- 18:23Speaker 1: they're prepared for that they really they're really fighting, you
- 18:26Speaker 1: know what I mean. They're not just taking pictures or
- 18:28Speaker 1: going to the gym and fucking warming up and looking
- 18:31Speaker 1: good like they're they're getting it in. Yeah, I think that, Uh,
- 18:35Speaker 1: that'd be crazy. So what what what do you think
- 18:38Speaker 1: would differentiate the PFL from Because you know, there's bellatour,
- 18:42Speaker 1: there's there's UFC. I would say those are probably the
- 18:44Speaker 1: big two, right right, But you guys got an ESPN deal,
- 18:46Speaker 1: which is automatically great because you know you've got eyes
- 18:50Speaker 1: behind it. But what what what kind of differentiates what
- 18:52Speaker 1: you guys do or makes what you guys do unique
- 18:55Speaker 1: compared to those two. It's more for the fighters and
- 18:58Speaker 1: for the fans. Not to say that take away from
- 19:02Speaker 1: any other corporation, but yeah, we just keep both in mind.
- 19:07Speaker 1: We want the fighters to make money as well as
- 19:10Speaker 1: game popularity, and we want the fans to get the
- 19:12Speaker 1: best bang for their buck. So you know, you have
- 19:15Speaker 1: your lower tier, you can start here, and then you
- 19:18Speaker 1: got your you mean, gets a little bit higher, and
- 19:21Speaker 1: then you got your top tier. So you're getting what
- 19:24Speaker 1: you spend your money on and what you spend your
- 19:26Speaker 1: time paying it. I do feel like that's one thing
- 19:28Speaker 1: we always hear about UFC is that the fighters kind
- 19:30Speaker 1: of get paid the fighters fairly. The fighters have issues,
- 19:36Speaker 1: they have yeah, yeah, yeah, because you'll see some of
- 19:39Speaker 1: these pay per view numbers and then you'll hear what
- 19:41Speaker 1: someone made who fought, and you'll be like, yeah, this happening.
- 19:45Speaker 1: I forget what the exact numbers are, but there's only
- 19:48Speaker 1: a handful of you know, those fighters who have actually
- 19:52Speaker 1: fought for a million dollars or more. And that's what
- 19:56Speaker 1: our main prize is is at the end of it,
- 19:58Speaker 1: you get a million dollars if you win andampionship. Oh
- 20:01Speaker 1: I mean Yeah, that's that's that's awesome. It's a no brainer. Trey,
- 20:07Speaker 1: hard Win and mill where are you at with music
- 20:10Speaker 1: right now? Because I feel like at this point in time,
- 20:12Speaker 1: you just do what you want. So sometimes we'll get
- 20:16Speaker 1: a random tape from you. Well, you know, you're you're
- 20:19Speaker 1: you're hopping on songs that with people who you fuck with?
- 20:24Speaker 1: Last year we got the EP, But like, what do
- 20:26Speaker 1: you how do you feel about I mean, by the way,
- 20:29Speaker 1: I love the fact Finally last year we got Cushian
- 20:32Speaker 1: or Juice on Spotify. That was a big fucking deal. Yeah, everybody,
- 20:37Speaker 1: But yeah, like, where are you at music wise? Man?
- 20:39Speaker 1: Are you still inspired? Are you still like, like, you know,
- 20:42Speaker 1: how do you feel about about the rap game right now?
- 20:44Speaker 1: I love the way that the rap game is moving now.
- 20:47Speaker 1: I think a lot of the work that I put
- 20:49Speaker 1: in and paved the way on is like paying off,
- 20:52Speaker 1: not only for me but for a lot of other
- 20:54Speaker 1: people facts. So you know, with that in mind, uh,
- 20:59Speaker 1: I just I see the next step in my evolution
- 21:03Speaker 1: and I'm always working on it. I'm always in the studio,
- 21:06Speaker 1: I'm always working with new artists and things like that.
- 21:08Speaker 1: But for my own personal project, the next thing for
- 21:12Speaker 1: me is to just you know, have another big moment
- 21:16Speaker 1: that is stand out not just to other people, but
- 21:18Speaker 1: really impresses me. And I know what I want to
- 21:22Speaker 1: talk about, and I know what I want the numbers
- 21:25Speaker 1: to look like, and I know what you know type
- 21:27Speaker 1: of people I want to impress, But I can't get
- 21:31Speaker 1: there until I actually create the project. So that's what
- 21:35Speaker 1: I'm doing, is I'm making the sound and I'm getting
- 21:38Speaker 1: the content and everything that I really think is gonna,
- 21:41Speaker 1: you know, take me to the next level in a
- 21:43Speaker 1: lot of different people's opinions as well as mine. And
- 21:48Speaker 1: you know, that's working with different production working with different writers,
- 21:52Speaker 1: just trying to put together not really trying, but putting
- 21:55Speaker 1: together a full ass project that's going to be the
- 21:58Speaker 1: evolution of you know who I am in my career. Yeah,
- 22:01Speaker 1: I feel like you've gotten to the place in your
- 22:04Speaker 1: career where like, sure you'll take another see You again, right,
- 22:07Speaker 1: because it's one of the biggest songs of all time.
- 22:10Speaker 1: But at the same time, you're with Khalifa like you're
- 22:12Speaker 1: a fucking you know. I think that there's probably three
- 22:16Speaker 1: other guys like in your category as far as just
- 22:19Speaker 1: like my grandma knows who you are, you know what
- 22:23Speaker 1: I mean. Like so like that's it gives you freedom
- 22:28Speaker 1: kind of because you can just make what you want
- 22:30Speaker 1: and you can, like you said, like you're trying to
- 22:32Speaker 1: craft a project or a new sound or like you
- 22:35Speaker 1: could be as patient as you want. Like my main
- 22:38Speaker 1: thing is the message. So if the message isn't right
- 22:42Speaker 1: or not even that it's not right, but if it's
- 22:44Speaker 1: not telling the message of the music, yeah, the message
- 22:47Speaker 1: in the music, yeah absolutely, if it's not. If it's
- 22:51Speaker 1: I don't want to just scratch the surface because I've
- 22:53Speaker 1: already done that. I'm in the game. I'm deep in
- 22:55Speaker 1: the game. So I'm just being really really conscious of
- 23:00Speaker 1: the things that I say. And I love what's being
- 23:04Speaker 1: made in music now. But there's no way that I
- 23:07Speaker 1: could say that and be completely fulfilled. And it takes time,
- 23:13Speaker 1: you know what I mean. It takes time to really
- 23:15Speaker 1: put together a full meal for a motherfuckers to really
- 23:19Speaker 1: digest and and enjoy. And you know, everything that I make,
- 23:24Speaker 1: I feel like it's fire. But it's like if you
- 23:28Speaker 1: go fishing, you can't catch every fish. I want that
- 23:31Speaker 1: big fish. So I'm really just shaving the fat and
- 23:35Speaker 1: figure what is the message that you want to like
- 23:37Speaker 1: put out there. There's a lot of different things with
- 23:40Speaker 1: with young artists. There's way too much violence with with
- 23:45Speaker 1: the younger artists. And I just had this kid Fullio
- 23:48Speaker 1: from Jacksonville here and I had to like, I was
- 23:51Speaker 1: like really trying to talk to him, like hey, man,
- 23:53Speaker 1: like I don't know if they got this beef going
- 23:55Speaker 1: on out there. That's it's so crazy disrespectful, Like the
- 23:59Speaker 1: violence is crazy, and it's there's so much of that,
- 24:01Speaker 1: and that's what these blogs are feeding our timelines too.
- 24:06Speaker 1: And it just feels like, yeah, it almost seems like
- 24:09Speaker 1: dudes are like getting into it to start beefing with
- 24:11Speaker 1: each other, Like that's why you got into rap, to
- 24:13Speaker 1: get like it's out of it yea. And if you
- 24:15Speaker 1: think about, like you know, resting peace of King Vaughan,
- 24:17Speaker 1: but like the issue between him and Kwando Rondo, like
- 24:20Speaker 1: those guys aren't even from the same city, so like
- 24:23Speaker 1: that was a rap beef rap beef. It'd be different
- 24:25Speaker 1: if like King Vaughan got into it with someone from
- 24:28Speaker 1: Chicago while he was in Atlanta. But yo, guys are
- 24:30Speaker 1: dying over rap beef. It's not productive for anybody. And
- 24:34Speaker 1: no one's like where are the companies that are behind
- 24:38Speaker 1: these guys or the big homies or you know what
- 24:40Speaker 1: I'm saying, Like, well, the labels are signing them, because
- 24:44Speaker 1: that's what's like fueling it and making it go further,
- 24:47Speaker 1: because it's it's not really in their hands. It's like
- 24:51Speaker 1: it gets like just this type of the songs that
- 24:54Speaker 1: they play and the words that they say, how disrespectful
- 24:57Speaker 1: they are the people's families. It's insane. It wouldn't be
- 25:01Speaker 1: it wouldn't affect the same if it wasn't mainstream. I agree,
- 25:05Speaker 1: if you had to dig deep to find that stuff,
- 25:08Speaker 1: then it wouldn't affect it the same. But you have
- 25:11Speaker 1: people who have nothing to do with any of that
- 25:15Speaker 1: pushing singing it in the club or riding around and
- 25:17Speaker 1: the car listening. He fuels it, puts so much more
- 25:21Speaker 1: onto it than actually would be there if it was
- 25:24Speaker 1: just beef. Did you see the Vanessa Carlton remix, A
- 25:29Speaker 1: thousand miles remix where they're like on the golf course.
- 25:32Speaker 1: You know it's it's it's crazy. Yeah, yeah, you should
- 25:35Speaker 1: have a reference here, but yeah, put it put it
- 25:37Speaker 1: in there. This kid young and age put out you know,
- 25:40Speaker 1: a thousand miles with the White Girl's song from White Chicks.
- 25:43Speaker 1: If I could what they redid that song and literally
- 25:49Speaker 1: just did a whole entire song three minutes straight just
- 25:51Speaker 1: talking about their ops dead friends by name. That's crazy.
- 25:55Speaker 1: It's insane, and it's it's like twenty five million views
- 25:59Speaker 1: and it's like, yeah, that's the type of shit, what
- 26:02Speaker 1: are we doing? Yeah, I mean you should like, yeah,
- 26:07Speaker 1: so you're so you kind of want to come in
- 26:09Speaker 1: and because I feel like there's no balance right now,
- 26:11Speaker 1: especially with the younger kids. Man, Like, you know, I
- 26:13Speaker 1: think there's like kids at Cordae that are amazing and yeah,
- 26:16Speaker 1: but as far as just like there, it feels like
- 26:19Speaker 1: there's a whole generation that's just well, I'm just speaking
- 26:21Speaker 1: from a perspective of not preaching to nobody because I'm
- 26:24Speaker 1: still living my life too, of course, but I'm just
- 26:27Speaker 1: I'm not no washed up nigga that you could just
- 26:30Speaker 1: be like, oh, shut the fuck up, we don't want
- 26:31Speaker 1: to hear what you got to say. It's like, now
- 26:33Speaker 1: you have a choice whether you want to listen to
- 26:35Speaker 1: what I'm saying. But I'm going to say it though,
- 26:38Speaker 1: So I'm definitely touching on subjects from a from a
- 26:44Speaker 1: perspective of I've been through it. I had to come
- 26:47Speaker 1: out of Pittsburgh to get to where I'm at, and
- 26:50Speaker 1: I would never want to go back to them circumstances
- 26:52Speaker 1: that man was in when I was, you know, coming up,
- 26:56Speaker 1: we had Chevy here, and Chevy told the story about
- 26:59Speaker 1: how they just try to kill him not too long, right,
- 27:01Speaker 1: and you know what I'm saying, the game and he's
- 27:03Speaker 1: been out here, he's been he's a OG. And you know,
- 27:05Speaker 1: we all know Chevy, Chevy's a great guy. But it's
- 27:07Speaker 1: like you just, you know, you just never know, man,
- 27:09Speaker 1: when you come from that world, especially when you're back home. Man,
- 27:11Speaker 1: it feels like back homes, are you always going to
- 27:13Speaker 1: get the most haters? Yeah, I mean, you know, the
- 27:15Speaker 1: goal is to try to be able to operate your
- 27:19Speaker 1: business without worrying about any of that stuff, right, And
- 27:22Speaker 1: I just want to definitely push people in the direction
- 27:27Speaker 1: of you can still be cool. You could still you know,
- 27:30Speaker 1: be that nigga. You can blah blah blah blah, be safe,
- 27:33Speaker 1: Like you don't have to show money, you don't have
- 27:35Speaker 1: to show guns, you don't have to disrespect anybody. And
- 27:38Speaker 1: if you really got a problem with somebody, there's a
- 27:41Speaker 1: place to take it where you could be tough. But
- 27:43Speaker 1: like that's another thing is a lot of dudes would
- 27:45Speaker 1: rather shoot than fight. Yeah, you can also try to
- 27:48Speaker 1: resolve the situation talking. I know you, I know you've
- 27:52Speaker 1: had situations that were resolved off camera. I've had a
- 27:56Speaker 1: lot of situations that people don't even know about one
- 27:58Speaker 1: hundred percent because it's not even that serious. You know,
- 28:01Speaker 1: if you really want to get to the bottom of it,
- 28:03Speaker 1: you can and yeah. So and that's what the gym
- 28:07Speaker 1: does too for me, because a lot of people do
- 28:11Speaker 1: think they're tough and they want to they want to fight,
- 28:13Speaker 1: they want to throw hands, and they'll say and the
- 28:15Speaker 1: hard beat. Oh I'm not going to know gym, I'll
- 28:17Speaker 1: shoot it out, blah blah blah. Sid I think that's
- 28:19Speaker 1: because you can't last three minutes. You don't have your
- 28:22Speaker 1: cardial skills. I've seen you swing like a bitch, So
- 28:26Speaker 1: you don't want to get embarrassed, you know what I'm saying.
- 28:29Speaker 1: So remove that from it and really get it off
- 28:33Speaker 1: your chest if it's really an issue. There's a lot
- 28:36Speaker 1: of rappers securities who be acting tough and you know
- 28:39Speaker 1: my big homies. Of course, they're like, look, we're starting
- 28:41Speaker 1: a security fight. I was going to say, you're security
- 28:43Speaker 1: for people who don't know his security got their own
- 28:46Speaker 1: fucking fighting league in Vegas. Like all your big motherfuckers
- 28:49Speaker 1: who want to be frowning in the club and all
- 28:51Speaker 1: that shit. They'll put arm bar quick, bring it to
- 28:54Speaker 1: the mat, be productive, you know what I'm saying. They
- 28:57Speaker 1: can all get money after that. We can get money
- 28:59Speaker 1: out of the situation. But you know, bring it, bring
- 29:02Speaker 1: it there. A lot of niggas ain't signing up, but
- 29:06Speaker 1: you know, we'll see what it is. But at least
- 29:08Speaker 1: there's an alternative, and we're trying to put it on
- 29:11Speaker 1: a mainstream level of We're not with that other shit.
- 29:15Speaker 1: We're with this. This is what we're doing. We're doing
- 29:16Speaker 1: martial arts. We're working together. We're doing this. We put
- 29:20Speaker 1: niggas on the road together, we work out when we're
- 29:22Speaker 1: on the road. And of course nigga's gonna have problems.
- 29:25Speaker 1: You're gonna have beef. But like you said, what's the
- 29:27Speaker 1: alternative to, you know, uh, resolving the situation. You've always
- 29:33Speaker 1: had the like one of the best ears in hip hop.
- 29:36Speaker 1: I feel like when it comes to just new talent,
- 29:39Speaker 1: like I feel like you're always you know, even when
- 29:42Speaker 1: you know, I just think back to all the times
- 29:45Speaker 1: like I first heard somebody was with you when you're
- 29:47Speaker 1: in DJ and in a bungalow, like, oh what's this?
- 29:50Speaker 1: Oh shit? You know, I think, I really think, like
- 29:54Speaker 1: the first time I ever heard Uzzi was with you
- 29:57Speaker 1: and this was a fuck I don't even know many
- 30:00Speaker 1: years ago. That was maybe twenty fifteen or something. Like,
- 30:04Speaker 1: you know, how tapped in do you try to stay?
- 30:06Speaker 1: I mean, obviously you have Taylor Gang, you sign artists
- 30:08Speaker 1: and all that, but like just as a fan, like,
- 30:10Speaker 1: do you do you still like, because sometimes I'll be
- 30:13Speaker 1: feeling like, man, I'm so busy, I can't even I
- 30:15Speaker 1: don't even got time to be a fan of this
- 30:17Speaker 1: shit no more. Yeah, you know what I mean as
- 30:18Speaker 1: far as just discovering new artists and you know, but like,
- 30:22Speaker 1: like do you still even have time to even be
- 30:24Speaker 1: a fan and try to find new artists? You know,
- 30:27Speaker 1: not even for your label, but just in general, yeah,
- 30:29Speaker 1: just in general. Yeah, I think just the game and
- 30:33Speaker 1: music consumption has changed a lot, and that race to
- 30:38Speaker 1: find that new shit has just become like everybody's so
- 30:42Speaker 1: thirsty now, like niggas is just digging and like reaching
- 30:46Speaker 1: for what's new or what's hot. And for me, I
- 30:50Speaker 1: like to just see what what I enjoy And a
- 30:55Speaker 1: lot of the time I just stumble on it, or
- 30:57Speaker 1: my homies will play it, or my son. Now he
- 31:01Speaker 1: plays a lot of new music and shit that I
- 31:03Speaker 1: never even heard before, and I don't even really have
- 31:07Speaker 1: to search for that shit no more. It comes to you. Yeah,
- 31:10Speaker 1: it just it just kind of pops up. But in
- 31:12Speaker 1: those days that you were talking about, like that was
- 31:14Speaker 1: a lot of fun because that was really, you know,
- 31:20Speaker 1: a selection of music. It was like, all right, I'm
- 31:22Speaker 1: not listening to none of that. This is the shit
- 31:24Speaker 1: that I like. And that was more what I like
- 31:27Speaker 1: to put out to the world is what I enjoyed,
- 31:30Speaker 1: whether people like it or not. Post Malone was one
- 31:32Speaker 1: of the moth first motherfuckers. Like there's a lot of
- 31:35Speaker 1: people whereas like I just supported them just because I know,
- 31:38Speaker 1: even twenty one Savage, I remember you playing twenty one
- 31:41Speaker 1: Savage super early, super early. Yeah, I pulled up to
- 31:43Speaker 1: him at one of his shows just because, like I
- 31:45Speaker 1: fucked with his vibe and I had been in Atlanta,
- 31:48Speaker 1: you know, recording some music, getting some tattoos and shit,
- 31:51Speaker 1: and it just, you know, it just rubbed off the
- 31:54Speaker 1: correct way. But I think it's really important to just
- 31:59Speaker 1: be open and sensitive to all of that shit. And

- 33:23Speaker 1: that they're presenting this podcast. Let's get back to it.
- 33:25Speaker 1: I feel like, too, what was dobe about the pandemic
- 33:28Speaker 1: is it made people listen to music differently. It made
- 33:30Speaker 1: us like, instead of standing on couches at the club
- 33:34Speaker 1: and you know, hearing shit that way. I think that
- 33:38Speaker 1: there was like a resurgence of you know, some real
- 33:41Speaker 1: rap shit popping off. You think so, I think so
- 33:44Speaker 1: because I think I just look at the Grammy nominations, right,
- 33:47Speaker 1: it was Freddie Gibbs. It was a hoist of five
- 33:51Speaker 1: nine d Smoke it was. It was. It was just
- 33:54Speaker 1: all some real, like real rap shit that I think
- 33:57Speaker 1: that might have gotten overlooked in other years because I
- 34:00Speaker 1: feel like we're listening in headphones, We're listening at home,
- 34:03Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. I think the content for
- 34:05Speaker 1: this year changed because everybody just became more conscious of
- 34:09Speaker 1: what was going on around them. Yeah, people tried to
- 34:11Speaker 1: make more songs that were geared towards that as opposed
- 34:15Speaker 1: to like, you know what I mean, different different things.
- 34:18Speaker 1: In my opinion, it made people dig a little bit deeper. Yeah,
- 34:22Speaker 1: I think, like, Yo, Griselda had a crazy year last year.
- 34:25Speaker 1: Like what I'm saying, Like, it's definitely like the vibe
- 34:28Speaker 1: has changed for sure due to like what you're saying,
- 34:33Speaker 1: people's attention span. But I want to get back in
- 34:35Speaker 1: the club though, like that, I know you do. I
- 34:39Speaker 1: want to stand on the couch. Yeah, for sure, to
- 34:41Speaker 1: be on the couch. That's inspiration. Hey, going back to
- 34:44Speaker 1: your Freshman cover in twenty ten that was, in retrospect,
- 34:50Speaker 1: one of the most historical covers I think they ever had.
- 34:53Speaker 1: A double exel was you, It was Nip, It was
- 34:56Speaker 1: Big Sean it was Fred, it was j Rock, Jay
- 35:00Speaker 1: Rock was on, Miss Cole was on there, like such
- 35:04Speaker 1: like like how crazy. Like do you ever like look
- 35:06Speaker 1: back and kind of reflect on like some of your
- 35:09Speaker 1: moments in hip hop, because that's like a historical moment. Man. Yeah, yeah,
- 35:13Speaker 1: it's dope. When you're coming up, you always you look
- 35:17Speaker 1: at the past and be like, oh, man, I wish
- 35:20Speaker 1: I would have came up during that time. But we
- 35:22Speaker 1: definitely had our own era where it was like that
- 35:24Speaker 1: was our golden era. You could say it was like
- 35:28Speaker 1: how it was when Tribe was out, and yeah, it
- 35:30Speaker 1: was like I was My favorite era was the blog era.
- 35:33Speaker 1: That was our own version of that, and we lived
- 35:35Speaker 1: it too. We were CouchSurfing, we were flight hopping, we
- 35:39Speaker 1: were a concert going, we were studio sleeping. We was
- 35:44Speaker 1: really thugging and everybody was helping each other out. So
- 35:46Speaker 1: it was all the like you said, the blog era.
- 35:48Speaker 1: We made the music and then the blogs put it out,
- 35:50Speaker 1: so we had it was the relationship. It was always
- 35:53Speaker 1: fun to find new artists on like Two Dope Boys
- 35:55Speaker 1: in those days. I was like it was just it
- 35:57Speaker 1: felt like that the curators there was more of a
- 36:00Speaker 1: selection to where you knew if you went to a
- 36:02Speaker 1: certain website you find some shit that you're looking for.
- 36:04Speaker 1: I feel like nowadays the curators, like a few people
- 36:07Speaker 1: at these DSPs, it was hard to get into those
- 36:11Speaker 1: things too, Like you really had to be dope, no
- 36:14Speaker 1: for sure, but it was like, but they would also
- 36:16Speaker 1: take chances on artists, Yeah, for sure. For show they
- 36:19Speaker 1: would post one thing and if it didn't get that meaning,
- 36:21Speaker 1: like they were still posting another one. Thinking, man, it's
- 36:25Speaker 1: popularity contest now, which is cool. It's not that bad,
- 36:29Speaker 1: but that shit only lasts what fifteen seconds? So yeah,
- 36:33Speaker 1: I feel like the streaming shit is cool, but it's
- 36:36Speaker 1: like also it's made it extremely I wouldn't say hard,
- 36:40Speaker 1: but I feel like harder than ever to start from
- 36:46Speaker 1: scratch and have a career because you really got there's
- 36:48Speaker 1: like a few so I'm some awesome independent shit. There's
- 36:51Speaker 1: you know, you got to get on Carl Cherry's radar,
- 36:52Speaker 1: You got to get on you know Whoever's to really
- 36:54Speaker 1: kind of break through some of those editorial playlists. And
- 36:58Speaker 1: I think so, I think so man, I think you
- 37:00Speaker 1: just gotta get good fifteen seconds? What do you mean,
- 37:04Speaker 1: like of the song that's it? You good. All right, Yeah,
- 37:08Speaker 1: you have the whole song. You have fifteen seconds, A
- 37:10Speaker 1: nice little hook, TikTok, a little something that loops put
- 37:13Speaker 1: it on, TikTok. You good. Hey you had a TikTok moment.
- 37:16Speaker 1: Something new. It made a look that's something new. But
- 37:19Speaker 1: I was like, oh shit, this shit is like two
- 37:21Speaker 1: years old exactly. Yeah, fans did that. That was cool
- 37:24Speaker 1: as hell. That happened during the pandemic too, It did.
- 37:27Speaker 1: It did. Everybody was at home with their families. Take
- 37:30Speaker 1: talking it up using the app and all that. You
- 37:34Speaker 1: mentioned your son Bash, who you know, I think is
- 37:38Speaker 1: probably intellectually like one of the smartest kids. That kid is.
- 37:43Speaker 1: How old is your son now? Eight? I would say
- 37:45Speaker 1: he's probably eight going on like fifteen as far as
- 37:47Speaker 1: his brain, like, he's a very smart kid. He's sharp. Yeah,
- 37:50Speaker 1: he's a very sharp kid. You know. I thought it
- 37:54Speaker 1: was dope to see you do the Oreo commercial recently.
- 37:57Speaker 1: What is it about how you and Amber have raised
- 38:00Speaker 1: him that you know? I think? I think to like
- 38:03Speaker 1: how I see a lot of fathers with their kids
- 38:06Speaker 1: and like, like, what do you think is special about
- 38:08Speaker 1: how you guys decided to raise him? Is there anything
- 38:11Speaker 1: like that you would give as far as like advice
- 38:13Speaker 1: to other parents out there, I think we both share
- 38:17Speaker 1: a lot of the same views, if not pretty much
- 38:20Speaker 1: all of them on how he should be raised. And
- 38:24Speaker 1: that's really important to be on the same page with
- 38:27Speaker 1: your partner because you're you're trying. You have to. There's
- 38:32Speaker 1: a push in a pool. Some people might want to
- 38:33Speaker 1: see their kid grow up this way, some people might
- 38:35Speaker 1: want to see it grow up that way. And from
- 38:39Speaker 1: what I've learned is that's really just personal with the parents,
- 38:42Speaker 1: and if you're grown enough and brave enough to let
- 38:45Speaker 1: that go for the better of the kid, then that's
- 38:49Speaker 1: when they're able to benefit. So, you know, there's some
- 38:52Speaker 1: days where he might not want to go to school
- 38:55Speaker 1: and she might be like, all right, cool, and if
- 38:58Speaker 1: he's with her, that her rules. You did what I'm saying,
- 39:01Speaker 1: all right cool? Your mom saying yeah. I'm like, oh
- 39:05Speaker 1: your mom, blah bah blah. You need to be let
- 39:08Speaker 1: you completely let that go. And it is what it is.
- 39:11Speaker 1: He's with me, Oh we eat McDonald's today. You know,
- 39:15Speaker 1: she's like, oh, cool, he deserves a cheeseburger. He's been good. Now,
- 39:19Speaker 1: don't be feeding my baby. You know what I mean
- 39:21Speaker 1: there's a lot of little stuff. This starts there, the
- 39:25Speaker 1: little stuff like you got to be able to get along,
- 39:27Speaker 1: and then when it comes to make big decisions, then
- 39:29Speaker 1: you right there on the same page and there's no friction.
- 39:33Speaker 1: And that's how me and her are is like we
- 39:35Speaker 1: we start with those little blocks, and he's a really
- 39:37Speaker 1: good kid, he's really understanding, he's really you know, fortunate.
- 39:41Speaker 1: We live right down the street from each other, so
- 39:43Speaker 1: he gets to spend a lot of time with both
- 39:45Speaker 1: of us. He's not really missing out on too much.
- 39:48Speaker 1: So is he on the roadblocks? Yo, he's roadblocks out, Yeah,
- 39:52Speaker 1: he's he's roadblocks in Fortnite for sure. I didn't realize
- 39:55Speaker 1: that Roadblocks was a publicly traded company until recently, and
- 39:59Speaker 1: I bought stock because I was like, I don't know
- 40:01Speaker 1: how much fucking buddy, I'll be putt into that roadblock
- 40:03Speaker 1: for by game for seven year old up and they
- 40:06Speaker 1: go up and down though, like, yeah, they find the
- 40:09Speaker 1: company that makes the game that makes all of them exactly,
- 40:12Speaker 1: because even Fortnite, like Fortnite's kind of you know, it
- 40:14Speaker 1: was a wave and now it's you know, listen, they
- 40:17Speaker 1: go up and down, bro, you know you're you're not
- 40:19Speaker 1: like a big game around Nah, man, I don't game.
- 40:21Speaker 1: That should take too much time out of my day.
- 40:23Speaker 1: Like yeah, it's a lot, dude, It's almost like it's fun,
- 40:27Speaker 1: but then you just feel like fuck man, like you're
- 40:29Speaker 1: not being very productive with your day. I used to
- 40:31Speaker 1: play games, but I started rapping when I was fourteen,
- 40:35Speaker 1: So like that whole muscle of sitting down and doing
- 40:38Speaker 1: that that I don't even have that, bro, Like I
- 40:41Speaker 1: just like I love seeing Snoop on Twitch when he
- 40:44Speaker 1: rage quits. Oh yeah, I love that shit. He really
- 40:47Speaker 1: means it too, like oh yeah, that's not no acting
- 40:50Speaker 1: or none of that ship Like he really be hot, bro,
- 40:53Speaker 1: Like Snoopy upset. When you're talking about mushrooms earlier, Yes,
- 40:58Speaker 1: talk to me about the crazy siest trip you've had,
- 41:01Speaker 1: because a lot of people take mushrooms, they microdose and
- 41:03Speaker 1: they get through their day and then there's other things
- 41:05Speaker 1: you do that what are they call it the master
- 41:07Speaker 1: dose or the no no no, like the super dose. Yeah,
- 41:10Speaker 1: supposed to change your life, like the God, Yeah, the
- 41:13Speaker 1: God do shit. I don't know, yeah, Like like what's
- 41:16Speaker 1: the what's the deepest like craziest trip you've ever been
- 41:19Speaker 1: on and what'd you get out of it? Probably when
- 41:22Speaker 1: I ate mushrooms for my mom. We went to Coachella
- 41:26Speaker 1: and I didn't know how to really dose it all
- 41:29Speaker 1: like that. So I took a ship ton and she
- 41:30Speaker 1: took a lot of them too, and Outcast was playing,
- 41:34Speaker 1: and we just have like this cool relationship with Outcasts
- 41:37Speaker 1: because when she we would go on road trips, we
- 41:40Speaker 1: would always listen to Equiminie, so it's like top five
- 41:43Speaker 1: album all time. Oh yeah, hell yeah. So we're like
- 41:46Speaker 1: Outcasts Coachella, we're doing shrooms. Hell yeah. And we took
- 41:50Speaker 1: the shrooms and they were really really really really really
- 41:52Speaker 1: really really strong, and we were both just like laying
- 41:56Speaker 1: down in the grass and shit like that, and it
- 41:59Speaker 1: was cool. It wasn't too much, but I couldn't move.
- 42:01Speaker 1: I didn't want to move. And I think the deepest
- 42:05Speaker 1: and realist thing that I took away from that was
- 42:08Speaker 1: just the fact that at one point was inside of
- 42:10Speaker 1: my mother's stomach, and I was like, wow, we were
- 42:13Speaker 1: like connected, you know what I mean. So when we
- 42:15Speaker 1: were laying down, I'm like, we're basically doing the same
- 42:17Speaker 1: thing we used to do. That's the same because we're
- 42:19Speaker 1: the same fucking person. I'm like, this is this is deep, bro,
- 42:23Speaker 1: and it you know you're always gonna be cool with
- 42:26Speaker 1: your moms, of course, but that's this is and your
- 42:28Speaker 1: mom for people don't know, like where's his mom will
- 42:30Speaker 1: be at the functions? For sure? Your mom? Your mom's
- 42:33Speaker 1: a g for sure for sure. So it just definitely
- 42:36Speaker 1: gave me a cool ass appreciation for moms. That's crazy.
- 42:40Speaker 1: You know, it's crazy you mentioned outcasts. I know you.
- 42:42Speaker 1: You've always been extremely high on paying homage to the
- 42:46Speaker 1: people who've influenced you. You You got the bone Thugs tattoo,
- 42:48Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. Like, obviously you and Snooper,
- 42:53Speaker 1: you know, I don't know what we call you. You You
- 42:55Speaker 1: guys are like hip hop tag team champs for the
- 42:58Speaker 1: last ten years. You know, Like you got to do
- 43:00Speaker 1: that tour. It was like it was crazy, No, it
- 43:02Speaker 1: was amazing. But like, is there someone who you know
- 43:06Speaker 1: you mentioned outcast and outcast, especially Andre kind of not
- 43:11Speaker 1: the most accessible and also really accessible at the same time,
- 43:14Speaker 1: because you might see Andre at like seven to eleven
- 43:16Speaker 1: and be like, oh shit, sharing ubers and shit. But
- 43:20Speaker 1: is there someone who who you looked up to? That
- 43:22Speaker 1: you haven't, because I feel like every way you're connected
- 43:25Speaker 1: with Cam, you've connect with a lot of peece. There
- 43:26Speaker 1: someone who who you really looked up to that you
- 43:29Speaker 1: haven't really got to like forge a bond with yet.
- 43:33Speaker 1: I was cool with DMX, Rest and Peace. I didn't
- 43:36Speaker 1: get to do no music with him. I want I
- 43:39Speaker 1: definitely was trying to do a track with him, like
- 43:41Speaker 1: because I seen him at Snoop's compound. We were both
- 43:44Speaker 1: locked in for like two weeks. I was in one room,
- 43:47Speaker 1: Snooper was in the other room, and Swiss and DMX
- 43:50Speaker 1: with another room. So we were just mixing, mingle, go upstairs,
- 43:52Speaker 1: play pool, be in the kitchen, eating together. So we
- 43:55Speaker 1: were supposed to collab like during that time, but we
- 43:58Speaker 1: were all just getting and having too much fun. I
- 44:01Speaker 1: know I was, but uh so I didn't get to
- 44:05Speaker 1: work with Eggs and jay Z. I want to. I
- 44:08Speaker 1: definitely want to, you know, be in the room with him,
- 44:11Speaker 1: even if it's just one track. But I feel like,
- 44:13Speaker 1: you know, just on a building type of level of
- 44:15Speaker 1: cracking some jokes. He's in a weird game now He's
- 44:19Speaker 1: chopped it up with Burns. So we got some mutual
- 44:21Speaker 1: friends and shit like that, so definitely Hove. Yeah, how
- 44:24Speaker 1: was how was it hanging out with DMX? I met
- 44:27Speaker 1: him once and he was like exactly who I'd hoped that,
- 44:29Speaker 1: you know, DMX dying man, probably just as a fan. Obviously,
- 44:34Speaker 1: Nit passing away really hit me hard because I knew Nip,
- 44:37Speaker 1: but as a fan. As a kid, you and I
- 44:40Speaker 1: around the same age. I remember going to the Hard
- 44:42Speaker 1: Knock Life tour and leaving after DMX got off stage.
- 44:46Speaker 1: This was like volume two HOVE, so he performed a
- 44:48Speaker 1: couple of songs that we left, but that shit really
- 44:50Speaker 1: fucked me up because I'm like, man, this dude was
- 44:52Speaker 1: like my world for like sixth and seventh grade. Yeah,
- 44:55Speaker 1: X was crazy bro like I had. I remember walking
- 44:58Speaker 1: to the store to go get his first album, well
- 45:01Speaker 1: a single before the album even came out. I have
- 45:04Speaker 1: to get at me dog. And when the album came out,
- 45:09Speaker 1: like that shit was so far. I remember my dad
- 45:11Speaker 1: took it away from me it was too explicit, but
- 45:13Speaker 1: then he ended up giving it back. He was like, nah,
- 45:15Speaker 1: you can listen to this one. This one was doge.
- 45:17Speaker 1: Like I fuck with X like but just cooling with him.
- 45:21Speaker 1: He's so he's so much fun. I have family from
- 45:23Speaker 1: New York and he acts just like them, like just
- 45:26Speaker 1: really outspoken. If you walk in the room, he's gonna
- 45:29Speaker 1: fuck with you. Like I had a cameraman at the time,
- 45:32Speaker 1: and he was like, yeah, I know you. That's my
- 45:34Speaker 1: camera right there. Thank you. I didn't even know you.
- 45:37Speaker 1: He knew I wanted one, like you know what I mean,
- 45:38Speaker 1: just fucking with niggas. Like he was a real, real
- 45:42Speaker 1: cool dude, real fun person to be around. So, and
- 45:45Speaker 1: you mentioned Jay getting involved in the wed game. Now
- 45:49Speaker 1: Jay's not no, like I don't I don't know jay Z,
- 45:54Speaker 1: but I don't know him to be a smoker. No,
- 45:57Speaker 1: well not before I think you know more now then yeah, yeah,
- 46:01Speaker 1: I mean, you know, you're one of the biggest weed
- 46:04Speaker 1: icons in hip hop history. So when guys like who
- 46:07Speaker 1: are kind of coming from the outside of that world
- 46:09Speaker 1: come in, like, how do you feel about that? Well,
- 46:13Speaker 1: when it's people like oh, I don't, I would never
- 46:17Speaker 1: feel it's like a boss move almost, it's like, of course,
- 46:20Speaker 1: why not not? Why It's like it's like him getting
- 46:22Speaker 1: mad because I wouldn't be a rapper. You sit down,
- 46:26Speaker 1: a little nigga, I got this. It's like, nah, fuck that.
- 46:30Speaker 1: But that's like I understand he probably you know, wasn't
- 46:37Speaker 1: at the forefront of it or like you know, putting
- 46:39Speaker 1: in the work on the on the side that we were,
- 46:41Speaker 1: but too be faces of it. He did what I'm
- 46:45Speaker 1: saying and do it the right way. I think that's
- 46:47Speaker 1: the real goal and just the I see the end
- 46:50Speaker 1: goal and the more you know, bosses and big people
- 46:54Speaker 1: and jay Z has a lot to do with, you know,
- 46:57Speaker 1: the jail system in the law man. So the fact
- 47:02Speaker 1: that there's people right now across this country that are
- 47:06Speaker 1: doing like serious prison time for like minimum amounts weeds
- 47:09Speaker 1: insane still, so he don't even have to smoke a joint.
- 47:13Speaker 1: I'll smoke it. You'll smoke it for him. Yeah, just
- 47:16Speaker 1: just keep us good. I mean, you're on your way
- 47:18Speaker 1: to like I mean, I feel like you've been making
- 47:19Speaker 1: so many mobile type moves of the last decade, Like
- 47:22Speaker 1: you know, you got the ship on post Mace, hot
- 47:25Speaker 1: Box by hot Box by Wiz. I mean, there's just
- 47:28Speaker 1: so much stuff that you have your hands in. Death
- 47:31Speaker 1: Liquid death, PFL. I'm on TV. I got a show
- 47:37Speaker 1: called Dickinson that's on Apple Plus. I play a character
- 47:41Speaker 1: that his name is death. I haven't gotten Apple plus yet.
- 47:44Speaker 1: Only you know what's funny is when you dropped your
- 47:46Speaker 1: uh was it last year? The year before? Yeah, that
- 47:49Speaker 1: was the only time I got I got fucking I
- 47:52Speaker 1: think I got everything but Apple. Yeah. But I was like,
- 47:55Speaker 1: I mean, I gotta go watch this. It's all good.
- 47:58Speaker 1: But so is the show on right now? Yeah? It's
- 48:00Speaker 1: in the second season. Yeah. See, I didn't even know
- 48:02Speaker 1: that ship were about to drop the third season. Well,
- 48:04Speaker 1: we about to start filming the third season. I leave
- 48:06Speaker 1: to you have iconic rapper actor moments, And I mean
- 48:10Speaker 1: that in the most respectful way if possible. I appreciate
- 48:13Speaker 1: it where it's like I wouldn't say you you've had
- 48:17Speaker 1: moments where you obviously weren't a great actor, but it
- 48:20Speaker 1: just works. That's what they called me to set to
- 48:24Speaker 1: do it. It's like Nas and Belly. It's like Nas
- 48:27Speaker 1: just showed up and was just Nas in the movie
- 48:30Speaker 1: and that's what for? What movie was it where you
- 48:33Speaker 1: were on a fucking horse? That was a movie with Amber? Yes? Yeah, yeah.
- 48:38Speaker 1: She was like it was like there were some other
- 48:39Speaker 1: girls in there, like the Gang, the Gangs of Roses.
- 48:43Speaker 1: Me and my me and my girl watched that ship
- 48:46Speaker 1: and we were like, this is hilariously bad, but it's good.
- 48:50Speaker 1: But that's what you gotta do, though, man, like look
- 48:52Speaker 1: at like Samuel, look at his motherfucker. Jackson was in everything, everything,
- 48:57Speaker 1: and then he became the goat later, but he did
- 49:00Speaker 1: everything all the way up to that point. You'll watch
- 49:02Speaker 1: some old ship like you got fucking killed. He was
- 49:04Speaker 1: a junkie like he's he's I think he's been killed
- 49:07Speaker 1: way more times than he's actually maybe than any actor ever. Yeah,
- 49:11Speaker 1: Samuel Jackson's been murdered multiple ways. Shout out to him. Yeah,
- 49:17Speaker 1: by multiple races of people too, so not just you
- 49:20Speaker 1: know in the seventies, like he got older and got
- 49:23Speaker 1: killed too. Because let's give some can we give some
- 49:26Speaker 1: flowers to uh to Burner man, Yeah, that's my dog, bro.
- 49:30Speaker 1: I think burn Is doesn't get enough love when it
- 49:33Speaker 1: comes to just like, yeah, that mother man he is.
- 49:38Speaker 1: He's built, he's built a lot. That's the thing. I think.
- 49:41Speaker 1: I think Burner actually does get enough love. He's just
- 49:43Speaker 1: he's just like the real goat. Like when you're really
- 49:46Speaker 1: the goat, you don't really see or hear or anything
- 49:49Speaker 1: like that. But he's always putting in work and all
- 49:51Speaker 1: the bosses go through burn Like I just seen a
- 49:53Speaker 1: video with Rick Ross on Berner's cookie tour bus, you know,
- 49:57Speaker 1: Burns walking him around him his dispensary that he just
- 50:01Speaker 1: opened in Vegas. You know what I'm saying. It's like
- 50:04Speaker 1: and shans Rick Ross because he's a boss, but Berner's not.
- 50:07Speaker 1: No little nigga, you feel me. And that's like you said,
- 50:10Speaker 1: the reason why he gets his flyers. That's facts. Man.
- 50:13Speaker 1: Talk about Taylor Gang, you know, obviously one of the
- 50:16Speaker 1: most iconic brands in hip hop. I mean you know
- 50:19Speaker 1: from having Juicy J on the label. I think back
- 50:22Speaker 1: to that double xel cover where it was it was you,
- 50:24Speaker 1: Juicy J was Lola, Lola, it was was tie on there.
- 50:29Speaker 1: I think, yeah, yeah, yeah, like the little Native American vibe. Yeah,
- 50:34Speaker 1: but like Marana vibe. You know who is currently on
- 50:38Speaker 1: the roster. Who are you excited about? I know you
- 50:41Speaker 1: have some new artists. Yep, we got tons of new artists.
- 50:43Speaker 1: You're always signed a new artist. I feel like, excuse me,
- 50:47Speaker 1: so we still got tying Juicy Chevy of course. Berner
- 50:51Speaker 1: of course the new artist skate. He's about to skate.
- 50:55Speaker 1: Nice guy. Skates real awesome working I started. I've known
- 51:00Speaker 1: Skate for a very long time because he used to
- 51:01Speaker 1: share a manager without Alden Smith from the forty nine ers,
- 51:04Speaker 1: which is random. That's a good crazy kid. That's a
- 51:08Speaker 1: crazy boy, be a wild guy. He just got back
- 51:11Speaker 1: on the thing. He's yeah, Jlaz helping get this. He's
- 51:15Speaker 1: an interesting camp. But now I love him. I'm glad
- 51:18Speaker 1: he's doing great. But Skate, I really was like, Okay,
- 51:21Speaker 1: I see you on some white boys ship. When I
- 51:23Speaker 1: saw his you know, he was daying the girl of
- 51:24Speaker 1: the Animal. I said, I see you bro making us
- 51:27Speaker 1: look good out here, because I too, am a white
- 51:30Speaker 1: guy who's with a girl who probably most people would
- 51:32Speaker 1: be like, nah, that ain't his good, you know what
- 51:35Speaker 1: I mean? So I respect the skates move man. Yeah,
- 51:37Speaker 1: good dude, man. So who else besides Skate Skate Young
- 51:40Speaker 1: Daji he's from Houston. He actually created the Whoe. We
- 51:44Speaker 1: were just talking about him. Yeah, yep, yeah, y'all y'all
- 51:47Speaker 1: on de Yeah yeah, Sosa man. He's from Houston. Yell,
- 51:51Speaker 1: he got the h town locked up. Chris Hollis he's
- 51:54Speaker 1: from Pittsburgh and fed the Guard. He's from Pittsburgh as well.
- 51:58Speaker 1: Pittsburgh is obviously you know. That's the sick shout out
- 52:02Speaker 1: to Will Who. Yeah, I don't think we'll ever move back. Yeah,
- 52:04Speaker 1: I know, man, he used the pandemics and excuse to
- 52:07Speaker 1: go home, and now he's he skated on us. Bro,
- 52:08Speaker 1: he just slid. I talked. I'm like, yo, when you're
- 52:11Speaker 1: coming back? He's like hopefully never. Nah, he ain't coming back.
- 52:13Speaker 1: It's cool though. He did his time here. It's like jail. Yeah,
- 52:17Speaker 1: he did his time. He's allowed to leave. Well, shit, man,
- 52:21Speaker 1: everyone should go obviously support. I mean, you got so
- 52:24Speaker 1: much stuff going on and you're working on new music.
- 52:29Speaker 1: You've always been known to kind of do some collab
- 52:31Speaker 1: projects here and there. Is there any any of that
- 52:33Speaker 1: kind of stuff? He works? Yeah, me and Juicy got
- 52:36Speaker 1: a smacker bro. Really yeah, we got a crazy album
- 52:40Speaker 1: and we got a crazy single for it already. So yeah,
- 52:44Speaker 1: that's it's gonna be sick. Would you and Tire ever
- 52:46Speaker 1: do another project? Me entire working on the album too,
- 52:48Speaker 1: but he's doing one with Mustard, and I feel like
- 52:51Speaker 1: that's more of a priority for him. Well, the last
- 52:54Speaker 1: project y'all put out, I think it just was on SoundCloud. No, well,
- 52:57Speaker 1: we did move into Apple to talk about it in
- 52:59Speaker 1: the morning. Oh it was. It's on Apple. It's not
- 53:01Speaker 1: on Spotify alright, No, I think it's on Spotify. We
- 53:04Speaker 1: shot a movie for that too that we never even released.
- 53:07Speaker 1: So maybe we'll dig dig that back up out of
- 53:09Speaker 1: the out of the archives. But yeah, me and Ty
- 53:12Speaker 1: are gonna do an album after him and Muster. Every
- 53:14Speaker 1: summer we get a tour from you usually, Yes, I
- 53:17Speaker 1: was going to talk about that. What's going on with that?
- 53:19Speaker 1: Let's talk abou We're gonna move it to the fall. Okay,
- 53:22Speaker 1: So that tour is coming, the tours on the way.
- 53:25Speaker 1: We're figuring out the lineup and it's gonna happen in
- 53:29Speaker 1: the fall. So there. So so for people, I mean,
- 53:32Speaker 1: you've I feel like every summer we get Whizz and
- 53:35Speaker 1: a plethora of amazing other artists. Right, there's gonna be
- 53:37Speaker 1: somebody new. Uh. Last last tour we had Jack Harlow
- 53:41Speaker 1: was the big opener, and you see what happened after.
- 53:45Speaker 1: I mean, I remember when Uzi was the first, like
- 53:47Speaker 1: base you know what I'm saying, You're pretty good. Before him,
- 53:49Speaker 1: it was Kendrick Wow, Yeah, money bag. Yo's open. Yeah,
- 53:55Speaker 1: so we've had some We've had some really iconic uh
- 53:59Speaker 1: movings on up in the rankings. So it'll be fun
- 54:03Speaker 1: to see who comes through this year and then who
- 54:05Speaker 1: smashes it afterwards. I would like to see Blast open.
- 54:09Speaker 1: I think Blast is the next guy out of the
- 54:11Speaker 1: whole West Coast, and I think I think the Blast
- 54:13Speaker 1: opening slot on a Whiz tour would be nice. Okay,
- 54:16Speaker 1: you know what I mean? Put them intentions in the air. Yeah,
- 54:18Speaker 1: I don't know, I don't know. I know, I'm always
- 54:20Speaker 1: like I ain't tripping. Yeah, I mean, you know, I
- 54:23Speaker 1: think I'm trying to think who else? Who are you
- 54:25Speaker 1: fucking with? It's like that you're like, yo, Like, let's
- 54:28Speaker 1: say there's a new artist that you're a fan of
- 54:30Speaker 1: right now that calls you, and you're you're just gonna
- 54:31Speaker 1: do the future just because you like them. Everybody everybody, Yeah,
- 54:36Speaker 1: I like everybody. I love everybody. Then there's also the fee,
- 54:39Speaker 1: So rappers, if you got your bag right, charge, yeah, listen,
- 54:43Speaker 1: I need that swap because when you go number one,
- 54:45Speaker 1: no no, no, no no, no, now you have charged. Recently,
- 54:49Speaker 1: I set up a play for you and you got
- 54:51Speaker 1: a bag off it. Oh, because it was a bag
- 54:54Speaker 1: on the table. It was a nice bag. It was
- 54:55Speaker 1: a bag on the table. I'm not gonna hit you
- 54:58Speaker 1: if you ain't you know what I'm saying, especially for well.
- 55:01Speaker 1: I want to say thank you to you because you
- 55:02Speaker 1: did a record for my artists in twenty nineteen and uh,
- 55:06Speaker 1: this ship went. We hit like a thousand spins and
- 55:08Speaker 1: radio we that man, that was a hell yeah. Shout
- 55:12Speaker 1: out to brown Boy Modu a Lexus that was. That
- 55:14Speaker 1: was a fun time. Yeah, very fun time. I'm we
- 55:17Speaker 1: always there because it's a relationship thing. Like you are.
- 55:20Speaker 1: You got to be able to depend on somebody. So
- 55:22Speaker 1: if you want to work, we could work what you're
- 55:24Speaker 1: working with. Hey, let me ask you this, what's one
- 55:27Speaker 1: of your records that you wish it would have been bigger?
- 55:30Speaker 1: That you was like, man, this is that shit, but
- 55:33Speaker 1: it just never really hit like one of your big hits.
- 55:36Speaker 1: Let me think. I feel like you got a bunch
- 55:39Speaker 1: of them, to be honest, but they've got to be
- 55:40Speaker 1: going to sticks out from Uh. I can't really say
- 55:47Speaker 1: because if it don't goes crazy, I just let it go.
- 55:50Speaker 1: I don't really trip off of it. I had a
- 55:53Speaker 1: lot of songs that could have could have picked up.
- 55:55Speaker 1: I feel like the record with Gucci was crazy, that
- 55:58Speaker 1: song was insane. I probably still went go older platinum,
- 56:00Speaker 1: you know what I mean. I definitely have a plaque
- 56:02Speaker 1: for it, or even the record with Uzi that pull
- 56:05Speaker 1: Up the pull Up. I thought pull Up was gonna
- 56:07Speaker 1: be like a number one record. Now it also you
- 56:10Speaker 1: got a plaque for it. For that, it's a great record.
- 56:13Speaker 1: But yeah, that was I think that's the one that
- 56:15Speaker 1: I always stuck out, like I was like, I remember
- 56:16Speaker 1: talking to beat Out like yo, this is here. I
- 56:19Speaker 1: remember going in the offices and like dancing on tables
- 56:22Speaker 1: to that song. I always put the intention out there
- 56:25Speaker 1: and the energy there and everything has to do with
- 56:28Speaker 1: politics and and you know whatever. All that performance. See
- 56:35Speaker 1: you again at Kobe's thing. Man, how tough was that
- 56:38Speaker 1: because that's I mean, were you even nervous to do that? Yeah?
- 56:41Speaker 1: I was nervous. That's a moment. I was nervous. It
- 56:43Speaker 1: was rough too, man. It was like it was hell
- 56:46Speaker 1: of people in there, but it didn't feel like it
- 56:48Speaker 1: just felt empty in that bitch. And that's like a
- 56:51Speaker 1: big honor, you know what I mean, That's like a
- 56:53Speaker 1: big to have to do something like that huge. Yeah,
- 56:57Speaker 1: So I was like, all right, just you know, get it,
- 57:00Speaker 1: make it, make it what it's supposed to be. It's
- 57:03Speaker 1: about him, you know what I'm saying, him and his family.
- 57:06Speaker 1: So yeah, it was crazy. You got a record like
- 57:10Speaker 1: See You Again, and it's almost like, yeah, I mean,
- 57:13Speaker 1: it's one of the biggest songs ever, isn't it like
- 57:16Speaker 1: the biggest song in YouTube history or some shit biggest
- 57:19Speaker 1: rap song, and it's it's it's a it's a forever
- 57:23Speaker 1: I call it. Like certain type of records are just
- 57:25Speaker 1: forever songs. You know. There's like songs that you'll hear
- 57:28Speaker 1: at every wedding or and that's just the forever song.
- 57:30Speaker 1: Like one hundred years from now, that song will get
- 57:32Speaker 1: played at someone's funeral, you know what I mean. Like,
- 57:35Speaker 1: did you get tired of that song? Nah? Hell nah?
- 57:38Speaker 1: He said, nope, hell no. That's the goal, man. I
- 57:41Speaker 1: want them them types of songs. Bob Marley has them
- 57:44Speaker 1: songs bad you know, Sloop got them songs, Prince got
- 57:47Speaker 1: them songs, got them songs. Hey, what do you what
- 57:53Speaker 1: do you think? You know, we always hear the term
- 57:55Speaker 1: mixtape whiz. You know, we've had so many classic moments
- 57:57Speaker 1: Man Taylor al their dies. We mentioned cushion oranges or
- 58:00Speaker 1: what what? What is the Do you even see a
- 58:04Speaker 1: difference in like your mentality when you're in mixed tape
- 58:06Speaker 1: tape wiz mode because that's a fan thing that was
- 58:08Speaker 1: made up. Yeah, like I could agree with the fans
- 58:11Speaker 1: on that, just from like stepping out and then looking
- 58:14Speaker 1: back in. There's there's a mixtape whiz just like there's
- 58:17Speaker 1: mixtape wheezy, Yeah, mixtay wheezy something else. You know what
- 58:20Speaker 1: I'm saying. I think there's a freedom to doing mixtapes,
- 58:24Speaker 1: and that freedom is slowly, you know, dying and being
- 58:28Speaker 1: pulled back away from us just because you can't release music.
- 58:31Speaker 1: You can't throw the same way you used to be
- 58:33Speaker 1: able to because one's c everything has to hit the
- 58:37Speaker 1: DSPs now, oh my gosh. Yeah, and and literally if
- 58:42Speaker 1: it doesn't reach the DSPs, it don't exist, and that's
- 58:45Speaker 1: not cool. Like, well that just happened with No Ceilings three,
- 58:48Speaker 1: the Little Wayne mixtape. I feel like we got that
- 58:51Speaker 1: record with Drake on the DSPs. But other than that,
- 58:53Speaker 1: I don't know anybody who was like riding around on
- 58:55Speaker 1: that PIF and shout out to that pitch. We're still
- 58:58Speaker 1: using that drop three mixtapes this year on that pith already. Yeah,
- 59:03Speaker 1: they just don't exist. I mean not to downplay that,
- 59:06Speaker 1: but it's like in the world and the music consumption,
- 59:09Speaker 1: it's hard. It's hard. Fans aren't trained these days like
- 59:13Speaker 1: we were, where we're like, yo, I gotta hit that pith.
- 59:16Speaker 1: I got you know what I'm saying, I gotta hit sound.
- 59:17Speaker 1: And then the same fans will acts for mixtape Whiz
- 59:21Speaker 1: or mix tape Wheezy. We'll drop it on whatever platform
- 59:24Speaker 1: that we can drop it, and they'll be like when
- 59:27Speaker 1: you put it on Apple Music and it's like, dude,
- 59:30Speaker 1: just get the fucking project. Is there any plans to
- 59:33Speaker 1: put some of the other classics up on the Spotify?
- 59:36Speaker 1: Because we got I mean, look, we got cushion rs shoes,
- 59:38Speaker 1: that's all the matter. It's a process because a lot
- 59:40Speaker 1: of those beats have samples in them that that won't
- 59:43Speaker 1: be cleared, and I don't want to put out, you know,
- 59:46Speaker 1: incomplete projects and things like that, so it takes a
- 59:50Speaker 1: minute to really go back and like monetize all of
- 59:52Speaker 1: that ship. And that's why we've just now released the
- 59:56Speaker 1: Thrill as a regular song. The Thrill. You know, that
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: song's been out for what ten years, and it just
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: now is starting to you could track what it's doing.
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: That is crazy. Would you ever go Indie Wiz? Yeah?
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: I mean you've been with Atlantic for so long. It's
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: been a good marriage. But you know, I feel like
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: you're the kind of artist that can. I mean, you
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: have an infrastructure and a team and every relationship possible,
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: and I feel like you're going independence and inevitable. Man,
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: I would I don't want to speak before you know.
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: My relationship with Atlantic is over with. I still got
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: a couple albums to do with them, but in the
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: grand scheme of things, you don't need a lot of
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: that to do. Yeah, things are different than they were
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: when you first signed, and I'm still cool all of course.
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: I love everybody in every department, the radio marketing. Of course,
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: I love everybody. They treat me so well over there.
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: But yeah, you just don't need You don't need to
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: do that stuff no more. All the bells and whistles,
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: it comes with a major. It's like a lot of
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: that you could do yourself, especially when you've been in
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: the game, especially when you're with Khalifa. Come on, now,
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: I've been in the game for a minute, a newer artist,
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: I see, I see the need for all of that.
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: You're still in training, you know what I'm saying. You
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: haven't even had your superstar moment yet. We didn't even
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: We didn't shout out your gin either, which is amazing.
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: I'm surprised I should have brought something from home. I
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: would have took a little shot with you, man, Little
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: d McQueen is amazing, by the way. Good look. I'd
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: like to thank you too, because I never now Me
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: and my wife's go to drink is gin and lemonade.
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: You go, which I never would have discovered for work
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: for partying with you guys in the Bombay days before
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: there was McQueen. But we're not going to say that now.
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: We're only fucking with McQueen now. McQueen and lemonade take
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: it to the head. Thanks later. Vegas Residency is probably
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: gonna be picking back up soon. I start on June four.
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: If I just put up the fly June fourth and
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: dresh tore this Fall Liquid Liquid Death PFL hot Box
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: by Wiz McQueen, Goddamn Taylor Gang Records. What's Duncanville. Oh
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: the TV show on Apple Plus. Yeah, yeah, there's nothing
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: this guy can't do. Man, man oreo commercials with his son.
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: Let's go, am I tripping? Or did you launch a
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: company based around your son? Did he do like a
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: clothing line or something? Yeah? I mean ship shout that out?
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, the Bash clothing line we about to be
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: re released for the summer. The Bash clothing line is
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: definitely out there. This guy Man, come on, Man, and
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: also Khalifa Cush, Khalifa Cush. Would you a whisk? I
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: feel like you could pretty much beat most people's asses
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: and hip hop? Would you ever do the celebrity fighting thing?
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: If trailer hit you with like a fucking stupid bag?
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: You never know. Man, I'm not gonna say no an
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: MMA fight, not even like a boxing fight because boxing
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: is different. But I feel like you're well versed. I
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: would do. I would definitely do kicking and punching. It
