Transcript
- 0:09Speaker 1: Hello, everyone, Welcome to the Inside the Birds NFL weekly
- 0:13Speaker 1: preview show. I am Jeff Mosher and it is week fifteen,
- 0:18Speaker 1: and once again, just like last week, we have a
- 0:21Speaker 1: ton of balance of power type games. You have some
- 0:26Speaker 1: games this week between teams that are still trying to
- 0:30Speaker 1: jostle to either get a playoff seed, win a division,
- 0:33Speaker 1: get a top seed. And if you look at both conferences,
- 0:37Speaker 1: the cool thing is right now is that there's not
- 0:41Speaker 1: a lot of I mean, we're fifteen, this is Week fifteen.
- 0:45Speaker 1: There will be three games left after this week for everybody,
- 0:50Speaker 1: and you look at the seedings and nobody can really
- 0:54Speaker 1: coast Denver and the Patriots entered this weekend both eleven
- 0:59Speaker 1: and two atop the AFC, and obviously both have enormous games.
- 1:04Speaker 1: The Patriots have to play their division rivals now, the
- 1:07Speaker 1: Buffalo Bills, and that is an enormous game with not
- 1:10Speaker 1: only seeding, not only playoff seeding ramifications, but also AFC
- 1:17Speaker 1: East Division title ramifications. So you're looking at Buffalo right
- 1:22Speaker 1: now sitting as the sixth seed, and New England as
- 1:25Speaker 1: the AFC leader with eleven wins as the two seed
- 1:29Speaker 1: right there with Denver really same record it's just coming
- 1:32Speaker 1: down to a conference schedule. Denver has the lead over there,
- 1:36Speaker 1: I believe, but either way can't afford to slay. In
- 1:40Speaker 1: two weeks from now, you might see the Patriots down
- 1:43Speaker 1: and the Bills in the two seed because the Bills
- 1:45Speaker 1: are playing good football and have figured some things out.
- 1:48Speaker 1: So that is an enormous, enormous game. If the Patriots
- 1:52Speaker 1: win the game, that will be the second time sorry, yeah,
- 1:56Speaker 1: the second time this year that they've beaten the Bills.
- 1:59Speaker 1: It's in New England, so they already have They'll be
- 2:02Speaker 1: at home, and they have the advantage there. They've won
- 2:05Speaker 1: a bunch of games in a row. We'll get to
- 2:07Speaker 1: that in a second. So but if they lose this game,
- 2:10Speaker 1: their streak goes. Then all of a sudden, the Bills
- 2:13Speaker 1: are within one game, and then it comes down to
- 2:16Speaker 1: you know, even though the tiebreaker would be even, and
- 2:19Speaker 1: then it'll come down to how they perform over the
- 2:22Speaker 1: last two weeks. And we know the Bills have to
- 2:23Speaker 1: play the Philadelphia Eagles in week seventeen, so really very
- 2:29Speaker 1: very important game right there. That is the game of
- 2:31Speaker 1: the week, the Patriots and the Bills. That you have
- 2:34Speaker 1: Denver at eleven and two. They've also won a bunch
- 2:38Speaker 1: of games in a row. They are on fire right now.
- 2:41Speaker 1: They don't win by very big margins, but they win.
- 2:45Speaker 1: They remind me a little bit of the Eagles last year. Defense.
- 2:48Speaker 1: They don't have the same run game that the Eagles had,
- 2:51Speaker 1: but they can run the ball. Their quarterback is athletic,
- 2:55Speaker 1: very a lot of commonalities there right between Stylistically, maybe
- 3:00Speaker 1: not as much, but just in how they play the game.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Bo Nicks limits his turnovers, makes the throws he needs
- 3:09Speaker 1: to make. He has a penchant for getting hot in
- 3:11Speaker 1: fourth quarters, like you saw him against the Eagles. But
- 3:14Speaker 1: basically he is second fiddle to the defense, to the
- 3:18Speaker 1: head coach, to the offensive line. But it's worked for them.
- 3:21Speaker 1: And they're eleven to two, and they have to play
- 3:24Speaker 1: a Packers team right now that is absolutely on fire.
- 3:29Speaker 1: They are nine to three to one. They are in
- 3:32Speaker 1: this two pole right now behind the Rams, who are
- 3:36Speaker 1: as hot as hot can be and maybe in the
- 3:39Speaker 1: Super Bowl, but the Packers are absolutely a team that
- 3:44Speaker 1: is on fire. They have played really well. They have
- 3:46Speaker 1: found their offensive spark there one four in a row.
- 3:50Speaker 1: They've beaten the Bears, the Lions, Vikings, Giants. They've really
- 3:53Speaker 1: snapped out of that two game losing streak they had
- 3:56Speaker 1: Week nine to ten versus the Panthers and the Eagles
- 3:59Speaker 1: where they only scored twenty points total in those two
- 4:02Speaker 1: games last four twenty seven to twenty three, thirty one,
- 4:06Speaker 1: twenty eight. So the big thing with the Packers right
- 4:09Speaker 1: now is that while they're not an you wouldn't call
- 4:12Speaker 1: them an explosive team. They're a methodical team. They're deliberate.
- 4:16Speaker 1: They run the ball with Josh Jacobs, but Jordan Love
- 4:20Speaker 1: has brought He's played really well. They've got an explosive
- 4:24Speaker 1: elopment back. Jaden Reid is back. He had a couple
- 4:27Speaker 1: of catches, hasn't really asserted himself, but I mean Bo Melton,
- 4:31Speaker 1: who they had playing cornerback at one point, is moved
- 4:34Speaker 1: back to receiver. He had a forty five yard touchdown pass.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Christian Watson has come back very strong. Christian Watson is
- 4:42Speaker 1: having the best year of his career coming off the
- 4:44Speaker 1: ACL injury, or at least he hasn't had the whole
- 4:46Speaker 1: season and he's played now about five or six games,
- 4:49Speaker 1: but he has unquestionably been a huge asset. So now
- 4:53Speaker 1: the Packers have a very good defense. They have a
- 4:56Speaker 1: closer player in Micah Parsons, who if you go look
- 4:59Speaker 1: and just looking at you might say he's not up
- 5:01Speaker 1: there with Miles Garrett, but he's still up there. He's
- 5:03Speaker 1: got a lot of sacks, a lot of tackles for
- 5:05Speaker 1: a loss. But this guy has dominated games in the
- 5:08Speaker 1: fourth quarter. He's like a closer in baseball. He just
- 5:11Speaker 1: comes in and gets the sack when you need him
- 5:14Speaker 1: to get the sack. And honestly, this game between the
- 5:18Speaker 1: Broncos and the Packers could be a Super Bowl preview.
- 5:22Speaker 1: That's how well both teams are playing. I don't think
- 5:24Speaker 1: anybody could argue that you could see in this wide
- 5:27Speaker 1: open NFL you could see both of these teams making
- 5:31Speaker 1: it to the Super Bowl. Denver probably has I would
- 5:35Speaker 1: say the least amount to lose if they lose the game, Yes,
- 5:38Speaker 1: they'll go to eleven and three. Yes, they could potentially
- 5:41Speaker 1: fall behind the Patriots, I suppose in seeding there. I
- 5:48Speaker 1: mean that that's why it is important for them. But
- 5:51Speaker 1: they are going to win the AFC West. They're they're
- 5:55Speaker 1: they're almost definitely locked in unless they really slide here
- 5:58Speaker 1: over the last four weeks to at least a top
- 6:01Speaker 1: two seed. Obviously they want the number one seed. Their
- 6:05Speaker 1: schedule is a little tricky in that after the Packers
- 6:09Speaker 1: they have to play the Jaguars, who are right by
- 6:12Speaker 1: are sitting in the number three slot right now. They
- 6:14Speaker 1: have to play the Chiefs in Kansas City, and then
- 6:16Speaker 1: they finished against the Chargers. So I would say they
- 6:22Speaker 1: could lose to the Packers and still be okay. But
- 6:24Speaker 1: with those three games Jags, Chiefs, Chargers on their schedule,
- 6:28Speaker 1: they would have to at least go three to oher
- 6:31Speaker 1: in those games to probably get back to being the
- 6:34Speaker 1: number one seed, depending on how the Patriots finished, depending
- 6:37Speaker 1: on how the Jaguars wind up finishing. Kind of unbelievable
- 6:40Speaker 1: to me that the Jaguars at nine wins are right there.
- 6:44Speaker 1: I mean, if the Broncos and the Patriots slide here,
- 6:47Speaker 1: it's not likely, but wow, the Jacksonville Jaguars, a team
- 6:50Speaker 1: I have thought is fraudulent all year long, to be
- 6:54Speaker 1: very fair, is sitting at the number three seed, just
- 6:57Speaker 1: waiting for other teams to slide. And they have to
- 6:59Speaker 1: play the that's in Jacksonville this week, So hard to
- 7:04Speaker 1: imagine that they're going to lose that game. So you
- 7:07Speaker 1: gotta think that the Jaguars will be ten and four
- 7:09Speaker 1: and they'll be rooting for the Packers and they'll be
- 7:12Speaker 1: rooting for the Bills in this game. I mentioned the Rams.
- 7:18Speaker 1: They are atop the NFC right now. They're playing excellent football.
- 7:22Speaker 1: They did what you would thought they would do after
- 7:24Speaker 1: they lost to the Panthers a couple of weeks ago.
- 7:27Speaker 1: They had a great response. They won their game against
- 7:31Speaker 1: the Cardinals forty five seventeen, and now they play the Lions.
- 7:35Speaker 1: So again, another tough game. It's not maybe game of
- 7:40Speaker 1: the week the way Packers, Broncos or Bills Patriots might be,
- 7:44Speaker 1: but it's right, it's right there. Four to twenty five.
- 7:47Speaker 1: You have a Lions team that has really beat up
- 7:50Speaker 1: man really really beat up, and they are right now,
- 7:54Speaker 1: right on the outside looking in. There are in the
- 7:56Speaker 1: eighth seed, which there is no eight seed. Obviously you
- 7:58Speaker 1: don't top seven. Make it game behind the Bears, game
- 8:02Speaker 1: behind the forty nine Ers, but still in it, absolutely
- 8:06Speaker 1: still in it. Could they get hot and you know
- 8:10Speaker 1: they'll be rooting for the Broncos to beat the Packers
- 8:13Speaker 1: and they will be rooting for Chicago to lose to
- 8:17Speaker 1: the Browns. Right, So they're gonna be big fans of
- 8:19Speaker 1: the AFC and hope that they can beat the Rams
- 8:22Speaker 1: get to nine and five and that division. That division
- 8:26Speaker 1: is still very much up in the air, with the
- 8:30Speaker 1: Packers leading it at nine three and one, the Bears
- 8:32Speaker 1: at nine and four, and Detroit right behind at eight
- 8:35Speaker 1: and five. I just think Detroit's banged up in a way.
- 8:38Speaker 1: They've lost obviously some of their punch from last year,
- 8:41Speaker 1: There's no doubt about it. They're banged up on the
- 8:44Speaker 1: O line, they're banged up on defense, and they're playing
- 8:47Speaker 1: a Rams team that right now, I believe. I do
- 8:50Speaker 1: a power rankings every week on Philly Voice. I didn't
- 8:54Speaker 1: look at that Panthers lost a couple of weeks ago
- 8:56Speaker 1: as a death knell for them. They turned the ball
- 8:59Speaker 1: over way they don't normally turn the ball over. You
- 9:02Speaker 1: know how I feel on the show I talk about
- 9:04Speaker 1: all the time, sometimes turnovers are flucish and don't really
- 9:08Speaker 1: show what kind of team you are. The Rams don't
- 9:10Speaker 1: typically turn the ball over. I feel the same way
- 9:12Speaker 1: about Jalen Hurts and the Eagles and that loss to
- 9:15Speaker 1: the Chargers. So this game is in Los Angeles, it's
- 9:20Speaker 1: a rematch of a game last year, and this is
- 9:23Speaker 1: kind of when the Rams were really starting to make
- 9:25Speaker 1: their mark. I think they play, yeah, they No, I'm sorry,
- 9:28Speaker 1: I'm thinking of the Rams Bills game from last year
- 9:32Speaker 1: that was right around this time, and the Rams won
- 9:34Speaker 1: forty four to forty two, and that was part of
- 9:38Speaker 1: their second win in a five game win streak in December.
- 9:41Speaker 1: That really cemented that people started to look at the
- 9:44Speaker 1: Rams a lot differently. But this game kind of could
- 9:47Speaker 1: be like that too, in that it wouldn't surprise me
- 9:49Speaker 1: if it was a high scoring game. It's going to
- 9:51Speaker 1: be obviously indoors. Both teams have a lot of explode well.
- 9:56Speaker 1: The Lions have more explosive players in Jamiir Gibbs and
- 9:59Speaker 1: Jameson Wiilliams. The Rams are not necessarily an explosive team,
- 10:04Speaker 1: but they're a bigger play team than they were last year. Obviously,
- 10:07Speaker 1: the switchover from Cooper Cup to DeVante Adams has made
- 10:11Speaker 1: them so complete. Their defense is playing so well. They've
- 10:16Speaker 1: managed to overcome the loss of a couple of starters
- 10:19Speaker 1: on defense for a little bit. They really haven't shown
- 10:23Speaker 1: any sign of let down. I would say the Rams
- 10:26Speaker 1: are a control here but they're playing a very hungry
- 10:30Speaker 1: Lions team. And again you're talking about what there is
- 10:35Speaker 1: to lose if you lose. Could the Rams lose and
- 10:37Speaker 1: be okay, Well you got the Seattle. They have the
- 10:41Speaker 1: same record as the Seattle Seahawks. They're both ten and three.
- 10:44Speaker 1: So if Seattle wins and Seattle gets basically a gift
- 10:48Speaker 1: this weekend at home against a Colts team that's going
- 10:51Speaker 1: to be starting I'm sighing. What I'm saying, going to
- 10:54Speaker 1: be starting Philip Rivers. I almost can't believe it. It's
- 10:59Speaker 1: a gift for the Seahawks. So the Rams, if they
- 11:01Speaker 1: want to be the number one seed, they can't really
- 11:03Speaker 1: let down. And that's what you got to like about
- 11:06Speaker 1: this last three weeks. There's not going to be a
- 11:08Speaker 1: whole lot of resting of starters or teams taking it easy.
- 11:12Speaker 1: There's major, major games all throughout the next three weeks.
- 11:16Speaker 1: And the margin no one's got like twelve thirteen wins
- 11:21Speaker 1: right now, and it's two or three games ahead of
- 11:22Speaker 1: somebody else, And to me, that's really impressive. It feels like,
- 11:27Speaker 1: you know, like last year the Chiefs were fifteen to one,
- 11:29Speaker 1: you knew by this year they were probably going to
- 11:31Speaker 1: be the number one seed in the AFC. The NFC
- 11:35Speaker 1: was still wide open. It felt like the Lions were
- 11:38Speaker 1: going to get the number one seed, and they did.
- 11:41Speaker 1: But they yeah and yeah, they were looking around this
- 11:44Speaker 1: time last year as the best team, and they did
- 11:47Speaker 1: get the number one seed. They just weren't able to
- 11:50Speaker 1: win the game. Obviously the Eagles did. But this year
- 11:53Speaker 1: much more wide open. And one of the more fascinating
- 11:57Speaker 1: fascinating races now is the NFC South because in losing
- 12:04Speaker 1: in Tampa Bay, losing on Thursday night to the Saints,
- 12:07Speaker 1: which to me was an unconscionable loss for the Buccaneers,
- 12:12Speaker 1: they have fallen completely out of the playoff picture toninth.
- 12:17Speaker 1: They have the ninth best record at seven and seven,
- 12:20Speaker 1: and the Panthers at seven and six leapfrog them just
- 12:23Speaker 1: because they're one short game they haven't played, obviously yet
- 12:26Speaker 1: into the fourth seed as the NFC South leader right now.
- 12:31Speaker 1: And who do the Panthers play. They are playing the Saints.
- 12:35Speaker 1: So I'm sorry I said the Bucks lost to the Saints.
- 12:38Speaker 1: What I met was Bucks lost to the Falcons, an
- 12:40Speaker 1: unconscionable loss that I you know, Listen, I'm a big
- 12:45Speaker 1: Todd Bowles fan. He's old school. He threw his team
- 12:50Speaker 1: under the bus in a way that most coaches now,
- 12:53Speaker 1: younger coaches don't do. I don't think he's wrong. I
- 12:57Speaker 1: think the execution looked terrible. I think thought they had
- 13:02Speaker 1: drops that hurt them. I thought they had sacks that
- 13:05Speaker 1: hurt them. I know Mayfield looks numerically, looked like he
- 13:07Speaker 1: had a good game. Don't think he did great. They
- 13:11Speaker 1: had every opportunity to win that game in the fourth quarter.
- 13:13Speaker 1: They couldn't put it away. They allowed a huge fourth
- 13:17Speaker 1: down conversion to David Sills, I mean Kirk Cousins, David Sills.
- 13:20Speaker 1: No Drake London in this game. They had no response
- 13:24Speaker 1: for Bajon Robinson. This Bucks defense has played poorly. The
- 13:29Speaker 1: offense has been banged up and injured, and even getting
- 13:31Speaker 1: Godwin back and Evan's back, I mean Mayfield probably still
- 13:35Speaker 1: dealing with that that injury to his left shoulder that
- 13:38Speaker 1: he has been dealing with. They're not the same Bucks
- 13:41Speaker 1: team from September and October. Remember how I always say,
- 13:45Speaker 1: you got to watch these South Florida teams in September October.
- 13:48Speaker 1: They enjoy such a great advantage because it's still so
- 13:51Speaker 1: hot and so muggy, and they're playing so Northeast teams
- 13:54Speaker 1: that are feeling that shill. Well, they have really struggled
- 13:58Speaker 1: since since basically late October early November, and I'm very
- 14:03Speaker 1: curious to see how they respond to how Todd Bowles
- 14:08Speaker 1: threw them under the bus. They have now lost five
- 14:10Speaker 1: of six games. Their only win in that stretch is
- 14:14Speaker 1: a three point win over the Cardinals. All right, they
- 14:18Speaker 1: have a chance here, but the Panthers are in the
- 14:21Speaker 1: driver's seat. The Panthers get to play the Saints. Now.
- 14:25Speaker 1: The Panthers are a wonky team that if they lost
- 14:27Speaker 1: to the Saints, nobody would probably be surprised. But you
- 14:31Speaker 1: got to give them a lot of credit for the
- 14:34Speaker 1: way they started one and four, one to three, I'm sorry,
- 14:37Speaker 1: won a couple of games in a row, then lost
- 14:39Speaker 1: to the Bills badly, then responded with a big win
- 14:42Speaker 1: over the Packers at Lambeau. Then they lost to the Saints,
- 14:46Speaker 1: all right, so you know they're gonna be revenge minded.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Then they beat the Falcons, lost like lost by more
- 14:53Speaker 1: than a possession, lost twenty to nine against the Niners,
- 14:56Speaker 1: and then they came back and beat the Rams before
- 14:58Speaker 1: going into the by They are a team that is
- 15:02Speaker 1: very hard to figure out. But they have an opportunity
- 15:05Speaker 1: now because the NFC South Championship and that fourth seed
- 15:08Speaker 1: most likely goes through Carolina, and they have got to
- 15:13Speaker 1: take care of business against the Saints this weekend. They
- 15:16Speaker 1: absolutely have to four to twenty five game in New Orleans.
- 15:20Speaker 1: They've got to take that control of that game. If
- 15:23Speaker 1: they do, they will go to eight and six, all right. Now,
- 15:26Speaker 1: it doesn't put Tampa Bay out of it. Tampa Bay
- 15:28Speaker 1: will be a game behind. But guess what, They play
- 15:31Speaker 1: each other twice in the final three weeks, all right.
- 15:35Speaker 1: They play the game in Carolina next week, Week sixteen,
- 15:41Speaker 1: and then week eighteen. And by the way, the Panthers
- 15:44Speaker 1: have the Seahawks sandwiched between these those two games, all right,
- 15:49Speaker 1: So they have to beat the Saints to get to
- 15:51Speaker 1: eight and six and then go Bucks Seahawks Bucks to finish.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Not gonna be easy, Absolutely not gonna be easy. Whereas
- 16:01Speaker 1: the Bucks, they're reeling. They got thrown under the bus
- 16:05Speaker 1: by their coach. They get Panthers Dolphins Panthers, So you'd
- 16:09Speaker 1: obviously rather play the Dolphins, even in Miami than Seattle, anywhere.
- 16:15Speaker 1: So the Bucks are not out of it, but it's
- 16:18Speaker 1: very important that they respond well. And I thought it
- 16:23Speaker 1: was very interesting that Todd Bowles and he's old school.
- 16:27Speaker 1: I got to know Todd Bowles when he was with
- 16:28Speaker 1: the Eagles. I like him a lot. I think is
- 16:31Speaker 1: a really good coach, a really good football mind. But
- 16:34Speaker 1: I even felt this way back when I had conversations
- 16:37Speaker 1: with him with the Eagles. He is it's the player's
- 16:41Speaker 1: job to execute kind of guy. We do everything we
- 16:46Speaker 1: can as a coaching staff to put our players in
- 16:48Speaker 1: position to succeed. Now it's on them to do it,
- 16:51Speaker 1: and if they don't, it's on them. A lot of
- 16:53Speaker 1: coaches feel that way, but they won't publicly challenge their
- 16:57Speaker 1: team in the media. Nick Sirianni would never ever have
- 17:00Speaker 1: a profanity laced press conference where he says he's done
- 17:03Speaker 1: everything he could, it's up to the players and they failed.
- 17:06Speaker 1: But that's what Todd Bowles did. I believe in his
- 17:09Speaker 1: heart of heart he meant it. I don't think he
- 17:11Speaker 1: meant it disrespectfully. He is just old school, all right.
- 17:16Speaker 1: He went to Temple, grew up in North Jersey, Elizabeth,
- 17:20Speaker 1: New Jersey. If I'm not mistaken, all right. He is
- 17:23Speaker 1: a guy who's played for a lot of coaches who
- 17:26Speaker 1: were old school coaches. I don't think he was making
- 17:31Speaker 1: some kind of calculated decision. I think he was just
- 17:33Speaker 1: being Todd Bowles. But it could backfire against him because
- 17:37Speaker 1: that is not how the modern player expects to be
- 17:41Speaker 1: talked about in the media now. I don't know that
- 17:44Speaker 1: Todd threw any single person or player under the bus,
- 17:48Speaker 1: but it doesn't matter. The players these days expect the
- 17:51Speaker 1: coaches to have their backs, to support them, to make
- 17:55Speaker 1: it a Wii, not I, and Todd Bowles is not
- 17:58Speaker 1: that kind of guy. So it'll be very interesting to
- 18:01Speaker 1: see how the Bucks respond to losing that game, what
- 18:05Speaker 1: kind of pride they do have veterans I don't. I
- 18:07Speaker 1: think guys like Mike Evans probably mayfield trying to think
- 18:12Speaker 1: who else vita Vea. They may not be upset by
- 18:15Speaker 1: what Todd Bowles said, They may agree with him, but
- 18:17Speaker 1: it's still an unconventional route for a head coach to
- 18:21Speaker 1: go these days, to step to that podium, curse a lot,
- 18:25Speaker 1: let his emotions out, and then throw a team under
- 18:28Speaker 1: the bus, and if they lose badly over these next
- 18:31Speaker 1: three weeks. If they lose two or three all three,
- 18:33Speaker 1: they don't win this division that they once had control
- 18:35Speaker 1: of when they were six and two. If they lose,
- 18:39Speaker 1: I would wonder about Todd Bowles's future. I would because

- 21:42Speaker 1: big games, you know, you got Cleveland at the Bears.
- 21:45Speaker 1: That's just big for the Bears. You know, the Bears
- 21:47Speaker 1: went from being the number one seed in the AFC
- 21:51Speaker 1: to losing to the Packers and now they're staring at
- 21:53Speaker 1: the seven seed. But there's you know, they can still
- 21:56Speaker 1: get the number one seed. But they've got to keep winning.
- 21:58Speaker 1: They got to keep pace with Green Bay. They have
- 22:01Speaker 1: to worry about the Lions and what the Lions might do.
- 22:05Speaker 1: So Cleveland, it should be a winnable game. Cleveland's all
- 22:07Speaker 1: banged up on the offensive line. The games in Chicago,
- 22:10Speaker 1: the Bears are seven and a half point favorites. Shad
- 22:12Speaker 1: Orge Sanders coming off a very impressive start last week
- 22:16Speaker 1: through for a bunch of yards, showed some promise connected
- 22:19Speaker 1: with fan in and looks like Nijok will be out.
- 22:22Speaker 1: I know they have all sorts of injuries on their
- 22:25Speaker 1: offensive line, so this is a team that the Browns.
- 22:29Speaker 1: I'm sorry that the Bears have to be able to handle.
- 22:32Speaker 1: They're not too banged up. They should be good. It
- 22:34Speaker 1: sounds like Rome would will be okay, and so the
- 22:38Speaker 1: Bears have to win that game. Baltimore Cincinnati. So I
- 22:42Speaker 1: haven't talked about the AFC North yet. And listen, I
- 22:47Speaker 1: have said for quite a while that I don't believe
- 22:50Speaker 1: in the Steelers, but I have to give them a
- 22:52Speaker 1: ton of credit. They beat the Ravens. I thought the
- 22:55Speaker 1: Ravens about four weeks ago, were making their move. They
- 22:57Speaker 1: were gonna win the AFC North. They were I didn't
- 23:01Speaker 1: think the Steelers. I thought the Steelers were frauds. We
- 23:03Speaker 1: knew the Bengals weren't going anywhere. When Burrow came back,
- 23:07Speaker 1: he won a game, then they lost. Yeah, I just
- 23:08Speaker 1: didn't I thought this thing was gonna be Ravens all
- 23:11Speaker 1: the way. But the Steelers are now in the driver's seat.
- 23:15Speaker 1: They're seven and six, They're currently sitting in that fourth seed.
- 23:20Speaker 1: I still don't love them. They're running the ball better.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Aaron Rodgers challenged some teammates, then they went out and
- 23:26Speaker 1: they beat the Ravens. Who just I guess the Ravens
- 23:30Speaker 1: just haven't been right. Lamar just looks like he's still
- 23:33Speaker 1: not one. It's not that he's he's not running as much,
- 23:37Speaker 1: but it's not like he's doing anything all that egregiously wrong.
- 23:40Speaker 1: But man, they lost to the Bengals, and they've lost
- 23:43Speaker 1: to the Steelers back to back, and the Ravens will
- 23:46Speaker 1: play the Bengals again this weekend. That is, this is
- 23:48Speaker 1: an enormous stretch of games here for the AFC North,
- 23:52Speaker 1: and if the Bengals win and get to five and
- 23:57Speaker 1: nine with Dolphins, Cardinals, Browns, they can get to say
- 24:01Speaker 1: eight and nine. I mean that's they can play spoiler
- 24:03Speaker 1: here for the Ravens, right, the Ravens gotta win this
- 24:08Speaker 1: game and the Steelers. I think the Steelers need to
- 24:11Speaker 1: show that they're not frauds. They had lost two in
- 24:14Speaker 1: a row, they have lost three out of four, then
- 24:17Speaker 1: they beat the Ravens. So you've got the Dolphins. The
- 24:20Speaker 1: Dolphins are in prime position here to be a great spoiler.
- 24:23Speaker 1: They're running the ball really well. They've won four straight games,
- 24:27Speaker 1: including a win over the Bills. Everybody else they beaten.
- 24:30Speaker 1: And then you just shrug and say, Commanders, Saints, Jets. Okay,
- 24:33Speaker 1: but you know all these teams, like the Commanders played
- 24:35Speaker 1: the Broncos stuff. I just talked about the Saints beating
- 24:38Speaker 1: the Panthers. The Jets had won three games out of
- 24:41Speaker 1: like five or six, so the Dolphins were one in six.
- 24:44Speaker 1: So we can't dismiss the fact that they've won four
- 24:47Speaker 1: games in a row just because three of those wins
- 24:49Speaker 1: were against bad teams. They have a real opportunity to
- 24:52Speaker 1: go into Pittsburgh win this game, get back to seven
- 24:55Speaker 1: and seven, they're doing an excellent job of playing a
- 24:59Speaker 1: playing way better be running the ball. Eight Chan has
- 25:02Speaker 1: been phenomenal this year. They even got Jalen right in
- 25:05Speaker 1: last week. They are hiding to and this is Mike
- 25:09Speaker 1: McDaniel's way of saying, look, we can win. I've got
- 25:13Speaker 1: a blueprint. I needed a better quarterback. I do believe
- 25:17Speaker 1: he feels he'll need not like I've spoken to him.
- 25:20Speaker 1: But I think the way they're hiding to a right now,
- 25:23Speaker 1: Mike McDaniel is making a case to keep his job.
- 25:26Speaker 1: But for the Dolphins to figure out a way to
- 25:28Speaker 1: get a better quarterback. And if they beat the Steelers
- 25:30Speaker 1: and get to seven and seven with the Bengals, Bucks,
- 25:32Speaker 1: and Patriots last three, could they go two to one there?
- 25:35Speaker 1: I mean, could they get nine wins and actually finished
- 25:37Speaker 1: with a winning record. Would not surprise me either way.
- 25:41Speaker 1: But I think you have to be impressed with what
- 25:43Speaker 1: Miami's done. And if you're the Steelers, you're looking at
- 25:46Speaker 1: this game saying we have to absolutely have to win
- 25:51Speaker 1: this game if we want to prove that we're really
- 25:53Speaker 1: a playoff team and we're legit. It's at our home.
- 25:57Speaker 1: Weather might be bad, so we'll see if the Dolphins
- 25:59Speaker 1: going and beat the Steelers. I think it'll show that
- 26:03Speaker 1: the Steelers are frauds, and maybe it just means that
- 26:05Speaker 1: both the Steelers and the Ravens are frauds. And the
- 26:08Speaker 1: AFC North, for the first time in a long time,
- 26:12Speaker 1: is just not a very good division. By the way.
- 26:15Speaker 1: The Ravens, well, let me finish it off with the
- 26:20Speaker 1: Steelers here in this game against Miami, which by the way,
- 26:23Speaker 1: is the Monday night game. The Steelers are three point
- 26:26Speaker 1: favorites in that game and the Ravens are two and
- 26:30Speaker 1: a half point favorites in Cincinnati. Look, Cincinnati may not
- 26:34Speaker 1: have much to play for, but Zach Taylor is trying
- 26:37Speaker 1: to keep his job, Joe Burrow is trying to finish
- 26:39Speaker 1: on a good note. They won't have t Higgins, he's
- 26:42Speaker 1: out concussion. That's gonna be tough, So we'll see what
- 26:46Speaker 1: they can do. But now or never for Baltimore, lose
- 26:49Speaker 1: this game, and I don't see if they lose this game,
- 26:53Speaker 1: the only way that you see a pathway to anything
- 26:55Speaker 1: for them is if the Steelers also lose. But I
- 26:57Speaker 1: think you'll just feel in general that neither of those
- 26:59Speaker 1: teams is very super Bowl worthy excuse me, Chargers at Chiefs.
- 27:05Speaker 1: Chiefs are six point favorites. Look, the Chargers have done.
- 27:09Speaker 1: They did an incredible job of overcoming all of their
- 27:12Speaker 1: obstacles against the Eagles, and their obstacles right now are
- 27:16Speaker 1: an offensive line that is down to like a fifth
- 27:18Speaker 1: string left tackle, a fourth string right tackle. They're beat up,
- 27:23Speaker 1: they're banged up. Herbert is playing with a broken hand.
- 27:26Speaker 1: Their defense is still amazing, but I just have to
- 27:29Speaker 1: feel that when you're playing a Chiefs defense that can
- 27:33Speaker 1: come at you with that kind of offensive line, that
- 27:39Speaker 1: you just can't expect to win another game like that
- 27:42Speaker 1: the way they did Monday night against the Eagles. I
- 27:44Speaker 1: think the Chiefs, even at six and seven, are still
- 27:47Speaker 1: thinking they're in this thing. I hope that things happen
- 27:51Speaker 1: to break their way, but the Chiefs are not going
- 27:53Speaker 1: to roll over. I like the Chiefs got their own
- 27:56Speaker 1: offensive line injuries too. This could be a very very
- 27:58Speaker 1: low scoring game. The total over under forty one and
- 28:01Speaker 1: a half, which is pretty low for these two teams.
- 28:04Speaker 1: But I like the Chiefs. I like them only because
- 28:08Speaker 1: only because I just don't think the Chargers can continue
- 28:10Speaker 1: to live the way they're living with that offensive line
- 28:14Speaker 1: Washington at New York. The Giants are two and a
- 28:17Speaker 1: half point favorites. The Commanders did the right thing. They're
- 28:20Speaker 1: shutting down Jayden Daniels. They shouldn't play them. I misjudged them.
- 28:25Speaker 1: I thought that they would show up in Minnesota based
- 28:27Speaker 1: on how they played against the Broncos, and this is
- 28:29Speaker 1: a division game, and I think they'll show up and
- 28:31Speaker 1: this will be a fun game. But there's really nothing
- 28:34Speaker 1: on the line. It's just too NFC East rivals with
- 28:38Speaker 1: nothing to play for other than Pride Giants two and
- 28:40Speaker 1: a half point favorites. Either team one wouldn't surprise me.
- 28:43Speaker 1: I already covered Eagles Vegas on the inside the Birds
- 28:47Speaker 1: pregame show. Check that out myself. Adam Kaplan great cosal.
- 28:51Speaker 1: We really really broke it down. Obviously. It goes without
- 28:54Speaker 1: saying huge game for the Eagles, and it feels like
- 28:57Speaker 1: they're twelve and a half point favorites. It feels like
- 29:00Speaker 1: the Eagles have to cover for people to get some
- 29:03Speaker 1: kind of confidence in them again, like winning this game
- 29:06Speaker 1: twenty to thirteen, like I think a lot of people
- 29:10Speaker 1: expect will be one of those wins that feels like
- 29:13Speaker 1: a loss. And of course a loss would just completely
- 29:16Speaker 1: lead to an unraveling if it hasn't already yet for
- 29:19Speaker 1: the Eagles, Jets, and Jaguars. You know who's not talked
- 29:24Speaker 1: about enough for I guess assistant coach of the Year
- 29:26Speaker 1: is the Jaguars defensive coordinator, Anthony Campeely, Campiell Campinelli, Anthony Campanelli.
- 29:32Speaker 1: It's done an excellent job. This Jaguars defense is fast,
- 29:36Speaker 1: it's athletic, they create turnovers. They're thirteen and a half
- 29:39Speaker 1: point favorites over the Jets. I think the Jets are
- 29:42Speaker 1: are starting Bratty Cook again, So Jags are in cruise
- 29:46Speaker 1: control here. They should win the game, like we mentioned,
- 29:49Speaker 1: and stay in that hunt for a top two seed
- 29:52Speaker 1: in the AFC. I have given my mia koppa on them.
- 29:55Speaker 1: I've called them frauds for about ten or eleven weeks.
- 29:58Speaker 1: They had some losses that I didn't they had some
- 30:01Speaker 1: wins that I thought were unimpressive. But I will say
- 30:06Speaker 1: they're not out of the water yet because they are
- 30:08Speaker 1: being chased by the Houston Texans, which you know if
- 30:11Speaker 1: you listen to my show every week. I've even when
- 30:15Speaker 1: they were struggling, I was so upset with their offense
- 30:18Speaker 1: because their defense, to me, is the best. It's the
- 30:20Speaker 1: most complete in the AFC. The Broncos may have the
- 30:24Speaker 1: more prolific pass, well, they may have the more prolific
- 30:27Speaker 1: all around defense. I think Houston's defense is just as good.
- 30:31Speaker 1: And if their offense can continue to move the put
- 30:35Speaker 1: points on the board the way they have right now,
- 30:37Speaker 1: they're eight and five, the Jaguars eight and I'm sorry
- 30:42Speaker 1: right now, excuse me. Jaguars are nine and four. The
- 30:47Speaker 1: Texans are eight and five. So again, like I've been
- 30:51Speaker 1: saying in this show, there are teams right now that
- 30:54Speaker 1: just can't afford any slippage, the Texans have to play
- 30:56Speaker 1: the Cardinals. They're gonna win that game barring some crazy
- 30:59Speaker 1: class They have won five in a row. They are
- 31:02Speaker 1: putting some major heat on the Jaguars. By the way,
- 31:06Speaker 1: five in a row includes a win over the Jaguars,
- 31:09Speaker 1: So those two teams have already played twice. They're one
- 31:12Speaker 1: and one, so there is no tiebreaker for them head
- 31:14Speaker 1: to head, and the Texans continue to win. If they
- 31:19Speaker 1: beat the Cardinals, they will go to nine and five,
- 31:21Speaker 1: and then they finish up Raiders, Chargers, Colts, and the
- 31:25Speaker 1: Colts suddenly look like a very bad team. So you
- 31:28Speaker 1: gotta like the Texans putting pressure on the Jacksonville Jaguars
- 31:32Speaker 1: in that game. Carolina and New Orleans talked about at Detroit,
- 31:39Speaker 1: Green Bay talked about them, Tennessee at San Francisco. Look,
- 31:42Speaker 1: Niners are right there. They can win the NFC West.
- 31:44Speaker 1: We've been talking about that for a while. They're kind
- 31:46Speaker 1: of a forgotten team, but they shouldn't be. They've had
- 31:49Speaker 1: a cake walk schedule, but they've also had a ton
- 31:51Speaker 1: of injuries, and they've performed really well despite those injuries.
- 31:56Speaker 1: And they still haven't had Brandon Ayu come back, and
- 31:58Speaker 1: I don't think he's coming back. But they are nine
- 32:00Speaker 1: to four. They're looking up at ten and three Rams,
- 32:03Speaker 1: ten and three Seattle. I believe they've beaten both of
- 32:06Speaker 1: those teams at least once this year. No, No, no,
- 32:09Speaker 1: definitely Seattle. I forget. I'll check in one second. But
- 32:13Speaker 1: the bottom line is they're hanging in there, and you
- 32:16Speaker 1: can't afford any slippage against Tennessee, who's coming off a
- 32:19Speaker 1: win probably feeling its oats. The Niners are good. They've
- 32:22Speaker 1: gotten so much healthier. Yeah, they beat the Niners beat
- 32:24Speaker 1: Seattle and the Rams earlier in the year, So it's
- 32:27Speaker 1: going to be a very interesting NFC West finish here
- 32:30Speaker 1: over the last three games. And you know, you can't
- 32:34Speaker 1: count out the forty nine ers. They have an easier schedule.
- 32:36Speaker 1: They get the Titans right, then they get the Colts
- 32:39Speaker 1: after that, and then they finish Bears Seahawks. So NFC
- 32:43Speaker 1: West is going to be fantastic. And then there's Minnesota
- 32:48Speaker 1: at Dallas. Dallas is five and a half point favorites.
- 32:51Speaker 1: They should be. I know, the Vikings just beat the Commanders,
- 32:55Speaker 1: little signs of life from JJ McCarthy. But if Dallas
- 32:58Speaker 1: is going to be real and if they are gonna
- 33:01Speaker 1: put some pressure on the Eagles, they have to win
- 33:03Speaker 1: this game. If they don't win this game, I think
- 33:06Speaker 1: you can look at them and say you're not in there.
- 33:08Speaker 1: You're not gonna be making it unless the Eagles continue
- 33:11Speaker 1: to slide as well. Dallas is six to six and one.
- 33:14Speaker 1: There would be the tenth best record right now, so
- 33:16Speaker 1: there are several games outside. I think that Dallas's only
- 33:20Speaker 1: shot really is to hope that the Eagles collapse here
- 33:23Speaker 1: and they win these games and they win the NFC
- 33:26Speaker 1: East because making a wild cards can be very, very
- 33:28Speaker 1: difficult for them, but they should be able to beat Minnesota.
- 33:32Speaker 1: If they don't, it's lights out for the Cowboys. Hey,
- 33:36Speaker 1: Philly fans, game day is stressful enough. Parking, traffic, long lines,
- 33:40Speaker 1: We've all been there, But when it comes to your cannabis,
- 33:44Speaker 1: Camden Apothecary makes it easy. This is the dispensary for
- 33:48Speaker 1: sports fans, just minutes outside of Philly, with plenty of
- 33:52Speaker 1: free parking. You'll be in and out fast, no hassle,
- 33:55Speaker 1: no waiting, and they don't just care about convenience. Camden
- 33:58Speaker 1: Apothecary is all about the guest experience. Their staff makes
- 34:03Speaker 1: sure you feel taken care of every time you walk in. Plus,
- 34:07Speaker 1: they carry only the best quality cannabis at the fairest prices,
- 34:11Speaker 1: so whether you're stocking up for the tailgate, the watch party,
- 34:15Speaker 1: or celebrating a big win, you know you're getting the
- 34:18Speaker 1: good stuff without overpaying. They even show love to the
- 34:21Speaker 1: community with specials for fans, students, service members, and healthcare pros.
- 34:27Speaker 1: Cammed inn Apothecary top quality cannabis, great prices, and an
- 34:31Speaker 1: experience made for Philly fans twenty one and up right.
- 34:36Speaker 1: So let me get to my picks that I did so.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Last week, I did six picks to make up for
- 34:41Speaker 1: not doing any the week before, and I was terrible.
- 34:43Speaker 1: I went two and four. I am now sixteen and
- 34:46Speaker 1: twenty six on this show. I say it every week
- 34:48Speaker 1: in my pick and pool on top three in this show,
- 34:52Speaker 1: I'm awful sixteen and twenty six. So take my picks
- 34:55Speaker 1: with a grain of salt. But I like the Chiefs
- 34:57Speaker 1: over the Chargers at six point favorites. Mention that I
- 35:00Speaker 1: just think the Chargers are headed for a real slide
- 35:03Speaker 1: with their offensive line issues to have a this is
- 35:05Speaker 1: actually their most winnable game over the next three weeks
- 35:08Speaker 1: because they are going to they been playing the Broncos.
- 35:10Speaker 1: They're gonna be playing some really tough games over the
- 35:13Speaker 1: last three weeks. The Chargers will, so Chiefs might be
- 35:17Speaker 1: able to get in it. And there's a lot on
- 35:19Speaker 1: this line on the line for this game, So I
- 35:21Speaker 1: like the Chiefs in Kansas City minus six. I like
- 35:25Speaker 1: the Texans over the Cardinals, even though it's a big
- 35:27Speaker 1: number nine and a half point favorites. It's this is
- 35:29Speaker 1: a risky pick by me because the Texans don't score
- 35:32Speaker 1: a lot of points, so it's hard for them to
- 35:34Speaker 1: win by two possessions, but that's just how bad the
- 35:36Speaker 1: Cardinals have been. And I like the Texans and the
- 35:39Speaker 1: way they're playing. I think it's gonna be tough for
- 35:41Speaker 1: the Cardinals to score. And I will take the Panthers
- 35:44Speaker 1: in New Orleans as two and a half point favorites
- 35:47Speaker 1: because they're in the driver's seat, because this is the
- 35:49Speaker 1: moment for them to seize. I think Dave Canalis has
- 35:51Speaker 1: done an unbelievable job coming out of the buy. They
- 35:54Speaker 1: see it, they saw the Tampa Bay loss. They have
