Kingston’s Role in America’s Revolution
Kingston’s Senate House just reopened after a $2.5 million makeover, unveiling a new exhibit called “The Revolution Comes to Kingston” to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States. The historic site, once the venue for New York’s first constitutional convention and the state Senate before British troops forced its evacuation, hosted a “Let Freedom Ring” kickoff event. Site manager Aaron Robinson reflected on America’s founding ideals and the ongoing struggle to live up to them as the nation marks two and a half centuries of independence.
