- 0:04- Welcome to Pop Culture Junkie podcast.
- 0:07I'm Shuana, and I'm Olivia.
- 0:10- This week we are talking about
- 0:12some of the very best characters Pop Culture has to offer.
- 0:16The goodest boys, the bestest girls,
- 0:18the funny, furry, extra chonky,
- 0:21the pets in pop culture.
- 0:24I can't believe we've talked about
- 0:25Pop Culture pets before.
- 0:26I was kind of surprised.
- 0:28- Yeah, I feel like we've had some honorary mentions
- 0:31just with things happening within Pop Culture
- 0:34where a pet is involved.
- 0:36I think the biggest mention of pets that we've had
- 0:40is truly does this dog die,
- 0:43which is does this dog die.com?
- 0:46- It does, it does. - Shauna should have come.
- 0:47- Yeah, there you go.
- 0:48Yeah, and Shauna taught me about this
- 0:50because she is infamous for spoiling a movie.
- 0:53And sometimes she sees a pet just to know does the dog die?
- 0:57They have expanded their offerings into cats,
- 1:00all animals, right? - Or horses,
- 1:02like does a baby get hurt, which like whatever.
- 1:06(laughing)
- 1:08- Fucking kids, fucking kids.
- 1:10There's all sorts of animal triggers,
- 1:12but honestly, I really only care about the dogs.
- 1:15Now that I wanna see any other animals die,
- 1:18but like I'll get over it.
- 1:20I wouldn't watch John Wittbury.
- 1:22- Bye. - Bye.
- 1:23- Right? - Bye.
- 1:25- Oruses, bye.
- 1:26- You can't watch the Lord of the Rings if you're not okay
- 1:29with horses dying.
- 1:30So yeah, just the dog die.com.
- 1:33I think I mentioned that in the first episode
- 1:35of the podcast, like ever.
- 1:37(laughing)
- 1:39- Well, you're their biggest fan, their most avid user.
- 1:42- I think so, they should sponsor us, honestly.
- 1:45- Yeah. - Yeah.
- 1:46- We'll circle back on that.
- 1:47- Circle back on the sponsor. - Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:50- Right that time, right that time.
- 1:51- Right that time, right that time.
- 1:52- Producer, right that time.
- 1:53(laughing)
- 1:54- So, what do you feel makes?
- 1:57Okay, I should tell the viewers.
- 1:59I think the viewers, the listeners.
- 2:01I guess some people are viewing us.
- 2:03Hi, Patreon.
- 2:04- And YouTube.
- 2:07- And YouTube, hey.
- 2:08Do you like talking animals?
- 2:13Okay, wait, let me circle back.
- 2:14This is the thing I was gonna tell the listeners.
- 2:17We're gonna be talking about fictional pop culture pets
- 2:20and then some real pop culture pets.
- 2:21So, I'll go back and forth a little bit.
- 2:24Speaking of fictional pets, do you like talking animals, Olivia?
- 2:28- So, when we decided we were gonna do this episode,
- 2:32I realized all of my favorite pop culture pets
- 2:36are animated animals and they do talk.
- 2:40I don't love a, like, I guess they would just be
- 2:44like an animatronic pet.
- 2:46- Yeah.
- 2:47- Who is talking, like I don't want them to be lifelike
- 2:50and talking, which is odd because if Ziggy could talk
- 2:54to me right now, I would love that.
- 2:56- Oh yeah, absolutely.
- 2:57I wanna know exactly what Buffy's thinking.
- 2:59One of my favorite pets that I will get to
- 3:01after our first break is an animatronic talking animal.
- 3:05But you'll like this one, I promise.
- 3:08Everybody likes this one.
- 3:09- Yeah, yeah.
- 3:10Like I think of the Lion King,
- 3:13where John Oliver is that frickin' toucan.
- 3:16- Oh God, and Beyonce is Nala.
- 3:18I don't think those are pets though,
- 3:20but I feel you, I'm not hey.
- 3:22- They could be.
- 3:23- They could be.
- 3:24- If not pet, why pet size?
- 3:25(laughing)
- 3:26- If not pet, then why friend shape?
- 3:29Why, yeah.
- 3:30- Exactly.
- 3:31- Exactly.
- 3:32- If I die trying to pet something
- 3:34that will probably eat me, then that's fine.
- 3:37Like, yeah.
- 3:39- I've died doing what I love.
- 3:41- Yeah, if a dog tears my face off,
- 3:43I'm still gonna call it a good boy.
- 3:45It's just honkeys.
- 3:46It's just honkeys, it's fine.
- 3:49It had a need at that moment in time
- 3:51and I was happy to fulfill it.
- 3:53- It's fine, take what you need from me.
- 3:55(laughing)
- 3:57- Okay, but what if it was like the pet,
- 3:59the lion from...
- 4:01- What was that lion movie we watched?
- 4:03I can't even remember the name.
- 4:04We did a collab, so don't I?
- 4:05- Oh my God, the like most violent movie ever made
- 4:08or whatever it was called.
- 4:09Oh yeah, no, for those.
- 4:11- Yes, for.
- 4:13- No, I don't want them.
- 4:14'Cause they're not friend shaped.
- 4:16Lions are not friend shaped.
- 4:17- Absolutely not.
- 4:19- No.
- 4:20- They're not gonna follow a lion though.
- 4:22- Yeah, I guess that's true.
- 4:23- I don't know, those lions were 19.
- 4:25- There are plot holes in this, but you know.
- 4:27- Yeah, let's listen.
- 4:29- They weren't talking, they weren't talking.
- 4:32So maybe that's why.
- 4:34- And you and I have never been ones
- 4:36for continuity, so.
- 4:38(laughing)
- 4:39Just here for the vibes always.
- 4:42(laughing)
- 4:43So some famous pop culture pets that don't talk.
- 4:47We have Beethoven.
- 4:49Beethoven doesn't talk, but I guess he's real.
- 4:52Snoopy doesn't talk.
- 4:54- Snoopy doesn't talk, but is animated.
- 4:56He's like the plot device there, I guess.
- 5:00- Yeah.
- 5:01- Snoopy is a quality cartoon pet.
- 5:04And then Clifford the big red dog.
- 5:06Does he talk?
- 5:07I don't remember.
- 5:08I don't know.
- 5:10I know he's humongous.
- 5:11I don't know why he's humongous.
- 5:13He's a big boy.
- 5:14- He's a big boy.
- 5:15- He's a big boy.
- 5:16And Snoopy do like kind of talks?
- 5:20- Yeah, he's got like a Ruby.
- 5:22- Yeah. - Wow.
- 5:23- Scoopy do is definitely on my list
- 5:25of like favorite animals.
- 5:28Mainly because he's like a stoner.
- 5:30And he just wants to like hang out
- 5:32and eat some sandwiches with his stoner friend.
- 5:36- Oh yeah.
- 5:37- So he's a much smaller size,
- 5:39but when I could smoke weed, I really embraced that.
- 5:42I was like, where are you my Scoopy?
- 5:44Just enjoying some Scoopy snacks together, man.
- 5:47- Absolutely.
- 5:48- Yeah.
- 5:49- Dude, yeah, Buffy has definitely had,
- 5:52she's not like partaken in any like substances with me,
- 5:56but she's always like getting the good bits out of it
- 6:00because I'll be eating like Taco Bell
- 6:02and stuff will fall on the floor.
- 6:03I'll be like, you want a fry?
- 6:05You know, she's like, oh thank God, mom's drunk again.
- 6:08I'm gonna eat half of that.
- 6:09- I feel like it. - I feel like I need to say
- 6:12that I'm also not getting my dog high, but.
- 6:15(laughing)
- 6:16- Disclaimer, pop culture junkie does not agree
- 6:18with getting your pets high or drunk.
- 6:20- When trucking your animals, I'm not drunk at your head.
- 6:24- Unless it's like for travel, you know.
- 6:26- Been a drunker than a beer later.
- 6:27- Been a drunker than a beer later.
- 6:28- Or something, yeah.
- 6:29- Yeah, there you go.
- 6:30- Yeah, there's some iconic pets that we know
- 6:33and think about all the time.
- 6:35Like we have lassie, we have Beethoven,
- 6:37we have Lady in the Tramp.
- 6:40There are so many good ones that we see throughout
- 6:42and Rinton Tinn from the 1920s.
- 6:46So animals have really been through movies, pop culture
- 6:51since the beginning of Hollywood almost.
- 6:55- Yeah, that's true.
- 6:56Oh, Rinton Tinn, that's a nice throwback.
- 7:00Do you think that the best pop culture animals are dogs?
- 7:03Then I feel like we're mentioning a lot of dogs.
- 7:06I think that I gravitate towards dogs,
- 7:10but my list is actually not filled with dogs.
- 7:14- So maybe.
- 7:15- Yeah, so I think that, you know, it depends.
- 7:18Like I think there's some memorable other animals
- 7:23that exist within pop culture,
- 7:25but dogs are so pervasive in, I guess,
- 7:29just like American culture.
- 7:30- Yeah, that's true.
- 7:32Two minor dogs and one cat.
- 7:34I will say, I just thought of an iconic pet
- 7:37that I should have added to my list of breakdowns,
- 7:40Garfield, man.
- 7:41What an icon.
- 7:43All this guy wants to do is eat lasagna and like sleep.
- 7:47Same.
- 7:48- Absolutely.
- 7:49- Same.
- 7:50- He hates Mondays.
- 7:51- Yeah, this Monday, I was like the older I get,
- 7:53the more I am becoming just Garfield in general.
- 7:57Like I really thought about it for a while on Monday.
- 8:01- It was a particularly rough Monday.
- 8:03- Yeah, I mean Garfield hates Mondays.
- 8:05I love the prevalence of those like really fucked up
- 8:09like Garfield, minor Levin.
- 8:11- I know Levin Garfield.
- 8:12- Yeah.
- 8:12- Have you seen that?
- 8:13- Yes.
- 8:14It was like a Garfield cartoon strip
- 8:19that was in the New York Times on the morning of
- 8:22the September 11th and it's like John,
- 8:24that's the guy is pet.
- 8:26Oh yeah, John Arbuckle gets a phone call
- 8:29and he's like, what have you done, Garfield?
- 8:32(laughing)
- 8:34It just got to Garfield face like.
- 8:37(laughing)
- 8:39- I'm not saying Garfield did September 11th,
- 8:44but who knows, who knows?
- 8:47- Maybe.
- 8:48- Where are we to say?
- 8:50- Are there any pop culture pets that you don't like?
- 8:54There are species of animals that you don't like
- 8:57'cause I have one large species of animal
- 8:59and if I see them in a movie,
- 9:01I'm not gonna watch the movie.
- 9:03- Interesting.
- 9:03I don't know if I have ones that I don't like.
- 9:07I mean, curious George was a little bit of a terrible
- 9:12animal to own, but I feel like that might be
- 9:15just monkeys in general.
- 9:17Oh my gosh, have you seen no?
- 9:19- When the monkey riffs everyone the shreds on the movie set.
- 9:23- Yeah, or like that.
- 9:24- Like what was the sequel to the Tiger King
- 9:28with the Tanya lady, with the chimps?
- 9:31- Oh yeah.
- 9:33- Shoot, I didn't watch it, but I know what you're talking about.
- 9:35That is my thing though, I don't like monkeys.
- 9:38Like they creep me out, they're violent.
- 9:42I just, I don't like them.
- 9:43If I see a movie and it's about monkeys,
- 9:45no, no.
- 9:48- It's called Chimp Crazy.
- 9:49- Yeah. - Like no.
- 9:50- Those chimps were crazy.
- 9:51They were ripping people's ears off.
- 9:53They were ripping people to shreds.
- 9:56- Yeah, chimps suck.
- 9:57- Yeah, and anything that can suck.
- 9:58- They suck.
- 9:58- With opposable thumbs.
- 9:59- No. - Yeah.
- 10:00- I don't trust it.
- 10:01- Not for me.
- 10:02- I don't want that in my home.
- 10:03I don't want that near my face,
- 10:05for my children or my dog.
- 10:07I remember watching Oprah as a kid and there was a lady on there
- 10:11who had her like face ripped off by a chimpanzee.
- 10:14And it was pretty graphic for being on three o'clock
- 10:19daytime television.
- 10:21- So stuck with you forever.
- 10:22So I did, you know.
- 10:23- Fuck them monkeys man.
- 10:25- Sometimes those pop culture pets are iconic.
- 10:27Not just we love them and we want to own them, you know.
- 10:30They're just causing chaos.
- 10:32- I never want to see a monkey ever again.
- 10:34And that would be too soon.
- 10:36(laughing)
- 10:37So let's take a quick break and then talk about the pop culture pets
- 10:40that we do actually like.
- 10:42(dramatic music)
- 10:45Before we go any further,
- 10:49now is an awesome time to remind you that we have a Patreon.

- 11:14- Or is it?
- 11:16- Or is it?
- 11:17- That's all Shana.
- 11:20- She's a farting queen.
- 11:22- Oh my God.
- 11:23If I sold my Farts and Charrs,
- 11:25I would be so rich, you guys.
- 11:27- I'm so messy. - I'm so messy.
- 11:28- So messy. - Why not?
- 11:30- Yeah.
- 11:31- Who's stopping me?
- 11:32- Yeah.
- 11:33- You, your own, your own, your own limitations.
- 11:36- That's pretty deal-holding you back.
- 11:38- My husband doesn't listen to the podcast.
- 11:40He doesn't need to know.
- 11:41I'm gonna sell my Farts.
- 11:42- Yeah.
- 11:43- Yeah.
- 11:44- The economy's nose diving,
- 11:45trumps the president.
- 11:46- Farting with Char.
- 11:48(laughing)
- 11:49- Anyway, we'll remind you at the end of the episode
- 11:52how to sign up for Patreon so we can keep bringing you
- 11:55the best of pop culture.
- 11:57So speaking of the best,
- 11:59Olivia, what pop culture pets do you wish that you could
- 12:03cuddle up waiting, give some script to you?
- 12:06- So I don't know if I wanna cuddle with them,
- 12:09given everything that has happened recently
- 12:13with the iconic killer whale, saga.
- 12:17But I wanted to talk about Kiko the Orca.
- 12:20- Yeah, don't cuddle with the cuddle with the whale.
- 12:22- Yeah, maybe not.
- 12:24Maybe the ones that are crashing all the yachts.
- 12:27Like we could, we could, you know, swim by each other.
- 12:30- Oh, solid, so great.
- 12:31- Yeah, solidarity with the women who are attacking the yachts.
- 12:35Eat the rich, baby.
- 12:37Eat that branch.
- 12:37- I think, I think one thing that makes a pop culture pet
- 12:42iconic really is the memorability of that pet.
- 12:47And when I think of Free Willy and Kiko the Orca,
- 12:52not only did they spawn so many kids in the 90s
- 12:57in the 2000s wanting to be a marine biologist.
- 13:00- Oh my God, why did all of us wanna be marine biologists?
- 13:02Do you think it was Free Willy?
- 13:04I think it was Free Willy and the other pet that I'm gonna talk about.
- 13:08- I don't think that like, Jindzi gets it.
- 13:11We all wanted to be marine biologists.
- 13:14I took like the marine biology class in high school
- 13:17for like college credit.
- 13:19Why did I do that?
- 13:20- Yeah, it's not a science girl.
- 13:22Not a science girl at all.
- 13:24And yeah, I was like, I wanna be a marine biologist, no.
- 13:29But one of the things about Free Willy the movie
- 13:34is not just it made us all wanna be marine biologists.
- 13:37It actually started the animal conservation movement
- 13:42around killer whales.
- 13:44It started a big discussion around
- 13:46what the hell we were doing at SeaWorld.
- 13:48Oh my God, right.
- 13:49- Of course, now blackfish?
- 13:52- Yeah, blackfish was that big.
- 13:54- Yeah, so it really was kind of like an introductory
- 13:57to us really caring about these animals
- 13:59and getting down with them.
- 14:01And then ultimately what came from blackfish as well.
- 14:04And so I think that when I think of an iconic pet,
- 14:08it brings awareness to it.
- 14:09And it just sticks in memory.
- 14:12And so for, you know.
- 14:14- That's a good idea. - I got that.
- 14:16- Yeah, not for cuddles, but for memory and childhood,
- 14:21definitely have Free Willy up there on my iconic pets.
- 14:25- I love that.
- 14:26I remember watching Free Willy on like a school trip to San Diego.
- 14:31And we all took a Greyhound bus and had Free Willy playing
- 14:34on like the tiny little TVs in the bus.
- 14:37And then at one point we had to pull over
- 14:39in like every kid in the bus at Devama.
- 14:41It was great.
- 14:42(laughing)
- 14:43- Just a bunch of barfing tenials.
- 14:45- I was from trying to watch the movie on like this tiny
- 14:48little screen.
- 14:49- Yeah.
- 14:49And like it's a six hour ride.
- 14:51We're all like car sig.
- 14:53(groaning)
- 14:54- I have that.
- 14:55- Just from the Italian job on a road trip with my friends mom.
- 14:59Like, 'cause the cars are going like,
- 15:01woo, like swerving.
- 15:03So I guess Italian job in Free Willy has some more.
- 15:06- Free Willy. - Yeah.
- 15:07- Motion of the ocean in the Italian job.
- 15:10(laughing)
- 15:12- So I teased this a little earlier,
- 15:14but my first pet I'm gonna talk about
- 15:16is an animatronic talking cat.
- 15:18Salem from Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
- 15:21So we also saw a Salem in chilling adventures of Sabrina,
- 15:26but he was just a black cat.
- 15:28I'm not saying he wasn't a good boy,
- 15:29but he was just a cat, right?
- 15:30- He was, like a country little cat
- 15:33that we all know and love.
- 15:34- Oh my God.
- 15:35Salem from Sabrina the Teenage Witch
- 15:37is such a conty icon, right?
- 15:39- Yeah. - Okay.
- 15:40- So he's a warlock who is sent
- 15:42to spend 100 years as a black cat
- 15:44as punishment for trying to take over the world.
- 15:47He is sarcastic and wise cracking.
- 15:51He is voiced by Nick Bake.
- 15:53And sometimes it's an actual cat.
- 15:55Sometimes there'll be a black cat that runs by her
- 15:57that Sabrina will be holding.
- 15:59- But for the most part,
- 16:00it is this like animatronic puppet cat.
- 16:03And it is so funny.
- 16:06And it dresses up and it does spells
- 16:09and it gets really fat and it causes mischief.
- 16:12And it is Sabrina's familiar and best friends.
- 16:17- Very queer coded in the 90s, 2000s.
- 16:21For like a kid teen show,
- 16:24it really did give us kind of like this slightly evil gay
- 16:28character who you just love because they're sassy.
- 16:32Like most 90s, 2000s.
- 16:34- Yeah, like he always had a good comeback to Sabrina.
- 16:37As much as you could tell he loved her in the spellments,
- 16:40he was always just kind of a little bitch to them.
- 16:44But he loved him for it.
- 16:45I remember him just fracking me up when I was watching.
- 16:48I would watch Sabrina with my mom like every Friday
- 16:51on TGIF.
- 16:53It came on with boy meets world.
- 16:56- So yeah, Salem the cat and animatronic talking animals.
- 16:59I wish I had one.
- 17:00I wish I had a robot cat right now.
- 17:02- Oh, that's mean to my actual cat.
- 17:05Toes can hang out with Salem.
- 17:07- Yeah, yeah, they would get along.
- 17:08- Maybe friends.
- 17:09Toes does a big gun too, so.
- 17:11(laughing)
- 17:14- They're gonna hate us for saying the C words, sorry.
- 17:19- Yeah.
- 17:20- Toes does a big bitch too.
- 17:22- It's with love as the Gen Z would say.
- 17:26- We're like blaming it.
- 17:28- So my next one, which feels like just a continuation
- 17:35of Kiko La Orca, I gotta say flipper.
- 17:38I don't know about you.
- 17:40- I like that flipper.
- 17:42- So much more.
- 17:43A, like I love dolphins when I was younger.
- 17:46And I still do love dolphins.
- 17:49I think I've told the story about how I got to swim
- 17:51with wild dolphins when I was in Hawaii
- 17:53on the hot cast before.
- 17:55- So cool.
- 17:55- Yeah.
- 17:56- But that was like really something that I always had.
- 17:59Like my aunt and I both loved dolphins.
- 18:01I actually like when she passed away,
- 18:03it took a bunch of like the dolphin stuff

- 32:48That was the most action I got.
- 32:50- Yeah, I love that.

- 32:52I also immediately every time I think of a donkey,

- 33:04- 'Cause I'd just be like, don't get the whole time.
- 33:07We should go, but in our slutty Shrek cosplay.

- 33:19Just hammered ready to.
- 33:21- Well, find a donkey bell.

- 33:52- I think the most famous real life celebrity pet
- 33:56is probably Tinkerbell, Harry Potter, and it's Chihuahua.
- 33:59- Yeah.
- 34:00- I'm sure there has been midi Tinkerbells
- 34:02through the years.
- 34:03- Yeah, I think that, like what other real life pet
- 34:08has a South Park episode?
- 34:09- Literally.
- 34:11- Oh my God, doesn't it like shoot itself in the head?
- 34:13- Yeah, it's so fun.
- 34:15(laughing)
- 34:17It's so fun.
- 34:18- I remember that so much.
- 34:20- I mean, Perseultin, when she was like first becoming famous,
- 34:25she was just notoriously hated.
- 34:28And so people like hated her dog as an extension.
- 34:32And people would always say like,
- 34:33she's like adopting all these dogs and losing them.
- 34:37And I think she actually, one of them like went missing
- 34:39for a while.
- 34:40- She's a consultant.
- 34:41- Perseultin has had like 15 animals.
- 34:43- So when you do that rich and you have that much money,
- 34:45you can really afford multiple pets.
- 34:49- Oh, for sure.
- 34:49She has an Instagram account called Hilton Pets.
- 34:53And it says, "Efficial account for Perseultin's fur kids.

- 35:17- I'm so sorry, Buffy.
- 35:19I'm sorry I can't do that for you.
- 35:22- And she was offering a $10,000 reward in 2022
- 35:26for her puppy Diamond Baby who went missing.
- 35:29- No, I don't think was ever found unfortunately.
- 35:33But yeah, Tinkerbell.
- 35:35- Yeah, and you'll know this better than me.
- 35:38I always think of like missing pets.
- 35:41I always think of Lady Gaga.
- 35:43So, her dog walker.
- 35:46Yeah, so she had two French bull dogs.
- 35:48Her dog walker was walking the dog and he got robbed
- 35:52for the dogs, right?
- 35:54- Mm-hmm.
- 35:55- They did like ransom or what happened?
- 35:58- I think she got the dogs back.
- 36:00Oh God, I'm not sure if I do know
- 36:02if she got them back or not.
- 36:03Lady Gaga.
- 36:05- She had dogs.
- 36:06- She had like a 10k reward.
- 36:07I remember that.
- 36:08- Yes, okay.
- 36:09- And we were later, okay, they were recovered.
- 36:12And was the dog walker in on it?
- 36:17- No, he was shot.
- 36:18Oh, that's right.
- 36:19Oh my God, I'm so sorry.
- 36:21He was shot.
- 36:22(laughing)
- 36:23He was shot.
- 36:24And so two of the dogs were stolen.
- 36:26Their names were Koji and Gustav.
- 36:28She offered a $500,000 reward.
- 36:31And they were recovered two days later
- 36:33and five people were arrested in connection.
- 36:36And then her dog walker who was shot did recover.
- 36:40So yes.
- 36:42- Okay, yeah, that's crazy.
- 36:44I do remember all of that.
- 36:462021.
- 36:47- Yeah.
- 36:50- The whole lifetime ago.
- 36:52(laughing)
- 36:54- And speaking of animals that are way richer
- 36:57than you and I will ever be,
- 37:00we have to have an honorary mention of Taylor Swift
- 37:04and her famous cat.
- 37:06So Meredith Gray is officially a millionaires.
- 37:10- Oh no, she's not my god.
- 37:12- Yes, so she has Meredith Gray, Olivia Benson,
- 37:16which are Gray's Anatomy and SVU characters.
- 37:20- Yes.
- 37:21- And then we all know that from Hayley.
- 37:23- Yes, and then we have Benjamin Button,
- 37:27who was actually in the Me Music video.
- 37:31It's the song with Brandon Urie and--
- 37:34- Oh, I'm sorry.
- 37:35- Yeah, it is annoying a song.
- 37:39It's an ear worm as well.
- 37:40- Oh yeah.
- 37:41- And so they met on the set of--
- 37:46- They met the cat in her.
- 37:48- Her in the cat.
- 37:49- Her in the cat.
- 37:50- Yeah, on the set of it.
- 37:51And she ended up adopting Benjamin Button.
- 37:54And the time magazine cover that she did last year
- 37:59is with Benjamin Button.
- 38:01- I do have a Meredith Gray is like a very smushed cat face.
- 38:06And I can't--
- 38:07- Will forever be richer than us forever and always.
- 38:13- Different then.
- 38:14- Yeah.
- 38:15- Also, if Taylor Swift wants to adopt me as one of her cats,
- 38:17I will dress up like one of the cats from the cat's musical,
- 38:21which Taylor Swift was in.
- 38:23- Yes.
- 38:24- Just to remove me.
- 38:26- I will live in her as I will.
- 38:27- Just to remove me.
- 38:28- Just to remove me.
- 38:29- Just to remove me.
- 38:30- I will shit in a box as long as I can be rich.
- 38:31- Yeah.
- 38:31But Benjamin Button, one of the most pretty cats in the entire world.
- 38:35Like, it's a rag doll cat with the most piercing blue eyes.
- 38:39And I'm not a cat person, but that's a gorgeous cat.
- 38:43I mean, I will, if I were to pet a cat,
- 38:45I would go into like anaphylactic shop.
- 38:47- You say it's against your will that you're not a cat person.
- 38:50- Yes, yes.
- 38:51I give cat person energy.
- 38:54- You do.
- 38:55- But unfortunately.
- 38:56- I think that's just my sexual millennial bookworm energy though.
- 38:59- Yeah.
- 38:59- Yeah, you know.
- 39:01- Stuff with a dog who thinks he's a cat.
- 39:04- Oh, he's a good kitty.
- 39:06- He's got big cat energy.
- 39:08- But he does too.
- 39:09She can't play fetch.
- 39:10Yeah, she just wants to like be pat and cuddle and eat.
- 39:14- Sleep.
- 39:15- I always say, so Ziggy was a street dog.
- 39:18Before I adopted him, they found him on the streets.
- 39:20And I say that Ziggy survived the streets
- 39:23by hanging with a packet cat who took care of him.
- 39:26And that's why he's so cat-like.
- 39:28Because this dog will not let you, like he gives cat
- 39:32where if you want to pet him, he doesn't want you to pet him.
- 39:35If you ignore him, he's all about it.
- 39:38And he does a lot of like what I like to call pet drive buys
- 39:42where he runs up to you.
- 39:43And then when you give him attention, he runs away.
- 39:45So.
- 39:46- He really does.
- 39:47And when you go into a apartment,
- 39:49he has to run to the bed for you to pet him.
- 39:51- Yeah.
- 39:52- You have to come into his space.
- 39:53- Yes.
- 39:54- Meet him at eye level and you know,
- 39:56worship the crown that he walks on.
- 39:58And that's very cat-like.
- 39:59- I appreciate that.
- 40:00And I respect it.
- 40:01And I will do that every time I see him.
- 40:03Because he deserves it.
- 40:04- Because he's the bestest boys.
- 40:06- And buffy to buff this girl.
- 40:08And he's the bestest boys.
- 40:10- Yes.
- 40:11- And everybody who's listening,
- 40:12your pets are the bestest too.
- 40:13Everybody is the bestest.
- 40:15- On one note, I do have to say this speaking of,
- 40:19and now that I said the thing about Paris Hilton,
- 40:21I'm wondering if this is just a throughline
- 40:24of people hating women.
- 40:26And hating iconic influencer like celebrities
- 40:31who have a lot of money and come from family wealth.
- 40:36- Oh God, we're talking about a Kardashian.
- 40:38- Yeah, Kaya, Jenner is notoriously like,
- 40:42I would say she's like the Gen Z Paris Hilton
- 40:46in a lot of different ways.
- 40:48But she has adopted like 20-ish pets over the course of-
- 40:53- Did she ever get to keep it?
- 40:55- Yeah, she did.
- 40:56- But the Kardashians.
- 40:57- I don't get that at all when you're that rich
- 40:59and you travel that much.
- 41:00Like you adapt to a dog, but they never-
- 41:03- You have a cat that you take hers.
- 41:04- Yeah, like caretakers.
- 41:06But so she, like over the course of like a couple years,
- 41:10she have like adopted like eight dogs.
- 41:13And then they were never seen again.
- 41:15Like not even on Instagram, like not in the show.
- 41:18And we're like, okay, is she just like getting puppies
- 41:21and then rehoming these things?
- 41:23Like are they dying?
- 41:24Like what's happening here?
- 41:25I bet they're just like prop dogs.
- 41:28They're just props for the episodes to look cute
- 41:30and for her to hold a puppy.
- 41:31I bet, I don't know.
- 41:33- Yeah, so she had like these gray hounds for a while.
- 41:35Now I think she has like French bulldogs.
- 41:37Yeah, I think so.
- 41:38- Someone who maybe we put on the,
- 41:41do not adopt another animal to this person.
- 41:44But you know she's buying them.
- 41:46She's not adopting them.
- 41:47- So Chloe like adopted a dog or an animal
- 41:50and then immediately like give it up.
- 41:52I'd ever like for adoption and everybody got really mad at her.
- 41:55- I think that was Kim.
- 41:56- That was Kim.
- 41:57- I don't know, one of them.
- 41:59- Yeah, so no one part we don't love that.
- 42:02- We don't love that.
- 42:02- We can't take care of them.
- 42:03Yeah.
- 42:04- Yeah.
- 42:05- Only.
- 42:06- There's little soap box.
- 42:08Get your pets spayed and neutered, Bob Barker.
- 42:11And only adopt pets if you're gonna keep them for life.
- 42:15- Yeah.
- 42:16- I think that's fair.
- 42:17- Forever friends.
- 42:18- Well there are so many pets that we could talk about
- 42:21and so many tips to give people about animal adoptions.
- 42:26But we'd be neglecting our own for babies.
