- 0:41champions let's.
- 0:44Go anyways i'm a little bit uh what can i say to you i'm still reeling i'm still
- 0:48like processes i'm i'm still like wow i can't believe,
- 0:53and i believe that my new york knicks at one point in my lifetime and i just want to even,
- 0:58touch bases on a couple of things because it was a beautiful day on saturday,
- 1:02and it started beautiful and i'm just gonna tell you a couple of things off the bat,
- 1:07shout out to all these knicks fans out there that did the journey did the track
- 1:12so more good that you know they they mortgage their house they quit their jobs
- 1:16what i said that new york knicks knowing new york city and some of these folks
- 1:20here in New York City, whether you're born in New York City or not,
- 1:23or in New York or not, hey, listen, come on, J-Lo.
- 1:26Come on, J-Lo, get that together. As long as you live here, hey,
- 1:29you're a New Yorker, it don't matter where you come from.
- 1:33I think somebody kind of mentioned, based on the logic that if you're not living
- 1:37in New York or you was not born here or New York City, whatever it is that she
- 1:41said in that interview, that means that you're not Puerto Rican, J-Lo.
- 1:44But anyways, I digress. That's a whole different topic, but shout out to everybody.
- 1:48You know what I mean? All those things found that put in the work.
- 1:51Y'all already know one of some of the notorious famous known Knicks fan,
- 1:55the Spike Lees and the Fat Joes and the Timmy, whatever the Timmy the Timmy can.
- 2:01Y'all already know. The dude that goes out with one of those,
- 2:03you know, Jenner Kardashian people. Y'all already know.
- 2:07But so much to talk about. So much to talk about for sure, for sure.
- 2:11Welcome to my legendary podcast, the Deca Shrugged and Topic Podcast.
- 2:16I had a trip looking at these videos and even in, I could not say,
- 2:20which I did not talk, though I did kind of talk about, I don't know.
- 2:23I'm still kind of like, hey, let's go.
- 2:26NBA champions, we are here.
- 2:28I do want to tell a story, a couple of stories here.
- 2:31And it's funny because, where was it? A very endearing sister in arms of mine
- 2:37who the other day said, you know what, I'm jumping on the next bandwagon.
- 2:41I said to myself, and I've seen a lot of people, There's no such thing as jumping
- 2:45to the Knicks bandwagon.
- 2:47People know that when there's something special, you know you have to ride the
- 2:51wave, ride the magic carpet. Because you know what?
- 2:55This Knicks run inspires so many people, especially in New York City and throughout
- 3:00the New York State and the tri-state with Jersey.
- 3:03You already know Connecticut. We got a lot of bunch of Knicks fans going through
- 3:07and that crazy. You know, Knicks fans are savages.
- 3:10Savages was not a big fan of the destruction. But, hey, listen,
- 3:14we got savaging them for those people out there.
- 3:16And there's a different sister in arms of mine who said, you know what?
- 3:20You know, I'm jumping the bandwagon and so on. And she laughs and all that.
- 3:26But then I said, you know what's crazy? Because he's always have had a knickknack
- 3:29of saying, que tienen que ser real los New York Knicks.
- 3:33They need to shut this team out.
- 3:35They need to close them. And that was like years ago.
- 3:38And I'm like, you know what? I'm going to forgive you one day when the New York
- 3:41Knicks becomes champion.
- 3:44And she said, you know, you're a Yankee fan. So I get it. She's,
- 3:46you know, one of those sport Yankee fans, but not necessarily a New York Knicks
- 3:49fan like I am. And I'll talk about that. 1990.
- 3:52Let's go. And the fact that she apologized to me, you know, hey,
- 3:56listen, you know, it's the bandwagon, whatever.
- 3:59Okay, I'm sorry. They don't need to shut down. And I said, look,
- 4:01listen, no such thing as a bandwagon.
- 4:04The fact that this person in the last three years, I've gone to Master Garden,
- 4:09a couple of times doing the watch party type of thing.
- 4:13Have gone out there and crowd-served with the crazy, savage New York Knicks
- 4:17fan. And I said to myself, hey, sister, don't break a leg out there,
- 4:21you know? We're not a spring chicken.
- 4:23But the fact that her energy in the last three years, she has and is officially
- 4:29a goddamn New York Knicks fan. Let's get in and shout out to that sister.
- 4:32Because for years, she just kept on saying the Knicks is gone, you know, shut it down.
- 4:36But yet you're over here doing the 34th Street, doing the, you know,
- 4:39the shopping and all that. until once that she started doing the shopping around
- 4:4334th Street, she started seeing how the Knicks fan and our success in the last three years.
- 4:49And she see that the Knicks fans are special and a little bit of savagery in
- 4:54that. But let's make it happen.
- 4:56Let's start with Saturday. And shout out to MD Hussein, who's the Bangladesh
- 5:00viral YouTube person who says.
- 5:03My man is Muslim, my beggar is still Jewish, the Pope is on our side,
- 5:08and the Knicks at five, And the fact that when you bring these folks from Bangladesh,
- 5:13there's a lot of Bangladesh that I know.
- 5:15I live in a community with a lot of Bangladesh. And then the fact that you have different people.
- 5:20I myself, Puerto Rican, will talk about that. You got some of the white folks.
- 5:24Hey, the black community, the Puerto Rican, Dominican, Mexican,
- 5:28Salvadorian, Central America, South America, globally.
- 5:31Look, New York City's a melting pot. Why can't you not find in New York City? regardless.
- 5:38Because Redi Hassan is kind of right.
- 5:40Hey, listen, in my understanding, I believe that he is Muslim.
- 5:43And if you look at current mayor, New York City mayor, Andani,
- 5:46he's Muslim. But the fact that, hey, listen, they're going to enjoy their little,
- 5:49you know, bagel on and on, little bagel, Jewish bagel. I'm just saying.
- 5:54But the fact that on Saturday, when I woke up, I woke up early and I actually
- 5:59headed to the 116th Street Puerto Rican Food Festival, shout out.
- 6:05Ooh, to all the vendors, the good people that was out there.
- 6:08That's how I started my day. I started my day Saturday morning.
- 6:12More Puerto Rican than anything. As a matter of fact, my New York City man is Puerto Rican.
- 6:16Big was Puerto Rican. The Pope is Puerto Rican. And you know what?
- 6:20The whole New York Knicks who won the championship this year,
- 6:23they're all Puerto Rican. Hey, I forgot. I'll see you. But the fact is this.
- 6:27It's one of those things where that's what New York City is.
- 6:30And that's what this New York Knicks team was bringing to the,
- 6:33you know, with this magic run or determined run or this mission to finally bring
- 6:38a championship after 53 years.
- 6:40And I headed, you know, to 160th Street, El Bajro, you already know.
- 6:44I actually went to 109th. And shout out to this local spot or at least kind
- 6:50of known spot, you know, Cocotazo. They had their little thing going on,
- 6:54Black Party. Black Party. Did I say Black Party?
- 6:57Yeah. Don't want to say Black Party. Hey, come on, man. But Black Party. We had a good time.
- 7:03And the fact that I went there and, you know, feeling the good vibe of,
- 7:06you know, the Puerto Rican food, the food, the Pelil. Or I say lechon,
- 7:11the morcilla, all that, the ensalada de papa, ensalada de codito.
- 7:17You already know we are over here making moves. And this is about this energy
- 7:21that's already setting the tone. The fact that we already doing the Puerto Rican
- 7:25weekend because Sunday was the Puerto Rican parade.
- 7:27But you know what? The 116th Street Food Festival is where it's at because you
- 7:32see a lot of people, many people, not just Puerto Ricans, many people who are
- 7:36enjoying the good food and the good labor.
- 7:39Matter of fact, there was a kiosk that was half Puerto Rican,
- 7:42half Colombian, and I tried my best.
- 7:45And I'm going to do a podcast on the festival, what I thought about.
- 7:49What are things that could be done better.
- 7:51Because the food is delicious.
- 7:53But there are things that I tend to kind of see. But anyways,
- 7:57that's neither here nor there, because we are talking about New York Knicks.
- 8:00And we're talking about that day for me, in my point of view,
- 8:03in my perspective, that reset the tone.
- 8:06The energy was already there. You already know Puerto Ricans energies is crazy energies. Viva.
- 8:11Born in Puerto Rico, my energy's off the whole. And many times,
- 8:15let's start the morning like that at 3.30 in the morning. Let's go. Let's make it happen.
- 8:19But the fact that the energy was there and there was a vibe in there,
- 8:22I'm going to say that there was like about 20 to 30% people rocking the New
- 8:26York Knicks something. It was just a Knicks affair. We was ready.
- 8:30And I myself, you know, enjoying the adult beverage.
- 8:33I mean, that Colombian place, I actually picked up a nice little turkey.
- 8:36You know, the fact that I went to that festival, not to just network,
- 8:42Because I got a podcast. I got to promote my podcast. And I got to meet new
- 8:45people. And I network it with a couple of people, especially in Cocotazo over
- 8:49there that are 109 between 1st and 2nd Avenue. But the fact is this.
- 8:54I was just all over the place having my adult beverage.
- 8:58And somewhere down the line, I'm like, I need a little bit of energy.
- 9:01And shout out to Weeper Cafe.
- 9:03Weeper Coffee Company. Pretty good. Woo. So let's get it. So the energy is already
- 9:08evolving to about 20%, 30% people.
- 9:11And I want people to understand where you've been at, the reason why I'm doing this podcast.
- 9:16Because, you know, I want to, you know, we could always talk about,
- 9:19like, you know, the Knicks. We're going to talk about all that. We are talking about it.
- 9:22But I want people to kind of go back, especially if you're one of those Knicks
- 9:26fans that have been through and through watching the New York Knicks just stink
- 9:30up the joint, losing to Michael Jordan in the 90s, Patrick Jorwin's layup,
- 9:35the little fight with the Miami Heat.
- 9:381999 NBA Finals that we went there, Patrick got hurt, and we went there against
- 9:43the Spurs, the San Antonio Spurs, that same team.
- 9:46Not the same players, though. That was a long time.
- 9:48But we went there like, hey, we got here. Did I, as a Knicks fan,
- 9:52did I feel like we had a shot? Hey, I'm a Knicks fan. Of course.
- 9:56But where, is it in the same confidence as this one?
- 9:59No, no. Because, you know, with all due respect, and shout out to many of the
- 10:03alumni that are actually Marcus Canby, Larry Johnson, Latrell,
- 10:07Patrick, Charles Oakley, John Starks,
- 10:10Gerard Wilkins, Gerald Wilkins, I'm sorry. I saw Chris Dully, if I'm not mistaken.
- 10:15Shout out to many of the New York Knicks alums that been there and could have
- 10:19have made it and couldn't, you know, climb over that little hump that we have had.
- 10:25We had Carmelo, you know, Carmelo ain't listening.
- 10:27Carmelo tried to do his work. But again, when you come to a place like New York,
- 10:32the Mecca, it ain't easy to try to get this team to a championship.
- 10:38Because this New York Knicks team and these organizations kind of remind me
- 10:42of that kind of person who has all the values that you can to make it,
- 10:46but you just seem to fall short.
- 10:48You make a lot of bad moves, and then you're back in that, you know,
- 10:52hitting the rock bottom in a sense. And that's what the Knicks has been in the
- 10:55last 20 years. We've been talking, talking, talking. And then something happened.
- 11:00And we signed Jalen Bronson. And I want people to kind of hear as they listen to this podcast.
- 11:05As I was mentioning, for those Knicks fans out there who have a lifelong,
- 11:11suffering Knicks fan, even if you're 20, 15, 35, 40, 45, 50,
- 11:1765, 70, 75, whatever your age is, always remember, is it June 13th?
- 11:24Look at the calendar, let me confirm. I want to go a little bit too crazy.
- 11:27That's correct. June 13th, that's why I'm doing this podcast.
- 11:31For this little episode with a little mix of everything. What were you doing on June 13th?
- 11:34How did they start it for? I went to the gym. I went to the gym early at 7.30
- 11:39in the morning because I know that I got to burn some.
- 11:41I got to burn some something. I got to burn some calories. I got to sweat because
- 11:45I'm going to have a long day. My mission to go to the Puerto Rican festival
- 11:48is not just to go there to rep and to support my local shops out there.
- 11:52There's a couple of places.
- 11:54Shout out to Freaky Rican. I'll put the links in the description.
- 11:58I mean, him and I, you know, were creating comments on his page.
- 12:03And, you know, I was like, hey, listen, if you if you start smelling like somebody
- 12:06smelling like donku, that might be me. That might be my fragrance of the day somewhere, somehow.
- 12:11But the fact is this, that I went on a mission to.
- 12:14Get some food, eat some good food, and take some food home. I was about to,
- 12:19I had a budget. I'll be honest, I over budget.
- 12:23Shout out to the good food out there. But geez, I did the over budget thing that I'm like, come on.
- 12:28I do kind of regret they didn't pick up a nice dessert. Arro con dulce when
- 12:32flying. You know, the heat was crazy.
- 12:35You know, it was hot, you know. And then especially if you got like a lot of
- 12:39stuff, I had, you know, my book bag, my content bag, My New York Knicks had a hallelujah.
- 12:45I mean, I'm seeing a lot of beautiful people, men and women over here showing their skins.
- 12:48I'm like, damn, I'm just saying. I got to do content here.
- 12:52I got to promote myself. I can't be carrying stuff like that,
- 12:56you know, over here, being a little bit close to being a little bit of Buck Nick, you know.
- 13:01The boy needs to promote his stuff. But the fact that on June 1st,
- 13:04I mean, June 13th, I apologize.
- 13:06That's where I was making moves. And you feel it. You feel it.
- 13:10So up in the air tonight, every conversation, everywhere you go,
- 13:15everywhere. And that 116th Festival was a Nick's talk. A Nick's talk.
- 13:19Everywhere. I think they had a public bathroom somewhere in the park.
- 13:23Even there, they was having conversation. Everywhere we went.
- 13:26Once again, shout out to Whereby Coffee.
- 13:29They had a nice, nice coffee. And listen, and I, you know, I enjoy my coffee black.
- 13:33Funny stuff. The fact that us Puerto Ricans, and I always tell that story,
- 13:37I was telling the story. I was visiting my family back in Thanksgiving,
- 13:41and, you know, we got to have coffee with everything in the morning.
- 13:44For some reason, I get it. And my aunt is like, oh, you know,
- 13:47quiere café con leche. And I'm like, no, no, no, me lo negro.
- 13:50Give it to me black. Again, no funny stuff. She's looking at me like, who does that?
- 13:55And I'm like, I mean, got a little bit of Americanized here.
- 13:58So shout out to the brother who gave me the iced coffee.
- 14:01And he's looking at me, you sure you don't want milk? Or you want some oat milk?
- 14:05Or are you trying to find me whatever alternative that he had?
- 14:09I'm like, no, I just want it black. Or that sucker like, or iced up.
- 14:13Like bloop, bloop, bloop, bloop.
- 14:15That gave me some energy again. Because, you know, I was working against the
- 14:18elements here. You know, the food, the drinks under me, the fact that I was
- 14:22carrying like two bags because I was just racking up on food.
- 14:25You know, me and my brother, we got to eat that lechon, that mochillo,
- 14:27the pig blood sauces. You already know. For those people who don't eat that
- 14:31out there, hey, I respect that. The mochillo be tasting good.
- 14:35You know what I mean? Yeah. And that's where the energy was at.
- 14:38And then once I'm done there, I'm like, you know what? Let me get out of here,
- 14:41do the over thing. Once I get home, shout out to one of my brothers in arms
- 14:46that told me, hey, listen, I'm going to pick up some more sillas for you.
- 14:49And he dropped me some chili I'm making. That will come in handy.
- 14:55You know, because sometimes I love me some good foods, especially the Puerto
- 14:58Rican, the whole pork and all that. But, hey, I don't want to do it.
- 15:02Sometimes you'd be like, hold on, hold on, hold on. Let me just at least put
- 15:05a little bit of chili on or some bread and just pause on the other stuff.
- 15:09And then, you know, that's basically the day. And then that's the time.
- 15:12It's passing, passing, and it's game time. And once again, I'm going to be straight
- 15:16up. As I'm watching the game, I'm already up since like 4 o'clock in the morning.
- 15:20I already had a couple of cocktails in me, more than a couple.
- 15:24I already ate the good food And it's somewhere Third quarter and we lose it
- 15:28And I'm saying to myself Keep up Come on This happened to me already Come on And I fall out,
- 15:34And I can hear the game in the background And I can hear the announcers go Yeah
- 15:38The New York Knicks And I'm like What is going on? And what am I looking?
- 15:42The New York Knicks came back Once again Down by whatever digits it is It ain't
- 15:46matter I think we would have been down by Three digits I mean I kid I kid,
- 15:50Let's be realistic here With the perseverance of this Knicks team and the way
- 15:54they play, and it was on Saturday where we are celebrating something with the
- 15:59Puerto Rican food and the culture that extends to all the cultures that are more than welcome,
- 16:04to the Puerto Rican parade Sunday.
- 16:07Because you know what was interesting? Last year, so I was born in Bayamon,
- 16:12Puerto Rico. Shout out to Bayamon.
- 16:15And we got a basketball league in Puerto Rico. Bajon Sesto Superior.
- 16:19Shout out. And the fact that my home team, which I'm a fan of,
- 16:22watching Gallinari, Renata Borkman, and a couple of other places in there,
- 16:27the fact that they won the championship last year,
- 16:31They kind of told me, okay, maybe this basketball thing for me is going to,
- 16:34you know, translate to the New York Knicks in the United States.
- 16:37You know, local, local affairs. You already know.
- 16:40It's in the universe. The five call is coming. So you kind of feel it.
- 16:44You kind of sense it all the way to see boom, boom, boom.
- 16:47But the fact that, you know, this energy, which is thriving throughout the city,
- 16:52with different people, different cultures, different backgrounds,
- 16:55whatever it is, unified.
- 16:56And saluting this New York Knicks scene after 53 years.
- 17:00This is not just the New York Knicks. This is a different team.
- 17:03This is a team where people down the line will say, you know what? They're inspired big.
- 17:08And again, I want people to understand where I'm giving you your perspective
- 17:13into where I was at in June 13, 2026, how my day started.
- 17:17Because by all means, if this goes on where we don't get a championship,
- 17:22and I think this team has the great talent, the great heart to make it back-to-back,
- 17:26but by all means, if we don't, five, ten years from now, 15 years from now,
- 17:31us Knicks fans will remember June 13, and we're going to try to remember 2026.
- 17:37Where we was at. What did you do when you started the day?
- 17:40What did you eat? What did you drink? What did you pray for?
- 17:43Who was around you? Who was happy? Who was not? How you was feeling?
- 17:47How you was not feeling the whole thing?
- 17:48And I think this little episode of my podcast not only is a salute to the NBA
- 17:53champions, New York Knicks, but it's more or less of a little salute,
- 17:57more thanking the Knicks for giving me a memory of a lifetime.
- 18:00It is up there amongst my favorite championship. Hey, listen,
- 18:03I'm going to spoil the New York Yankees. And I'm going to say spoiler because
- 18:06it's more like the 90s. Come on, Nick. I mean, Yankees. Let's make it happen.
- 18:11New York Rangers, they got me the Stanley Cup, 1994. After 40 years.
- 18:15Interesting, number 11, Mark Messier.
- 18:17The captain of that team. Shout out to him. And somebody said shout out to number 11, Jalen Brunson.
- 18:23The captain of the Knicks. Bringing a championship after a 53-year drought.
- 18:28Matter of fact, 53-54 for the New York Rangers in 94.
- 18:32I'm a New York Giants fan. Eli Banning. Victor Cruz, David Tyree,
- 18:35Justin Tuck, Michael Strahan.
- 18:38Where the boys is at? Let's go.
- 18:41My first championship as a sports fan, especially New York Giants fan,
- 18:45but New York Giants, 1990, the 1990-91 season. Shout out to that team,
- 18:49Jeff Hosteller, OJ Anderson.
- 18:52People are going to say OJ Anderson. Sure, it's not OJ Simpson,
- 18:55though. It's OJ Anderson.
- 18:56You know, that whole team, like I said, LT, Lawrence Tater.
- 19:00But right now, I'm just thinking about this New York Knicks team and what happened on June 13, 2026.
- 19:07Hit the like button. Feel free to comment on where were you on that day when
- 19:12the New York Knicks won the championship? Where were you when you woke up?
- 19:15Where were you throughout the day when you was thinking, let's make it happen?
- 19:19Was there anything in you that said, we got this?
- 19:23But you know what? I felt it. Being close to many wonderful people.
- 19:27Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, Mexican, black folks, a few white folks here and
- 19:31there, everybody, Jewish, Muslims, everybody.
- 19:35Look, Puerto Ricans love that meat. Well, we got a lot of people that we ate.
- 19:39Listen, we got some of the beans here. If you don't want the meat, we got you.
- 19:45For those out there who do not eat meat, much respect, because I saw a lot of,
- 19:49you know, I saw some few people out there. Hey, shout out to you.
- 19:52But guess what? You guys also had Knicks jersey. You had Knicks something.
- 19:57You had that spirit of New York City going in your blood that this is the year and this is the night.
- 20:02Because I'll be honest with you, I would have doubted the Knicks if they would have lost that game.
- 20:06Because San Antonio, if there's one thing about San Antonio,
- 20:10shout out to San Antonio, they let a lot of stuff fall through the cracks,
- 20:15let a lot of leads fall through their fingers.
- 20:17But one could say how much more games one would play for San Antonio to do safe.
- 20:22So we had to end this on Saturday.
- 20:24Please feel free to share with any of your Knicks fan, non-Knicks fan,
- 20:28or whoever it is that just happened to just kind of felt special following the

- 20:46Shout out to the Knicks and itself and the Knicks players out there and the coaches and the fans.
- 20:50Obviously, we will not be here. Knicks Nation will be here.
- 20:54If those Knicks fans out there who went out there to the street and for the
