  Oh Father, here we are again. Lord, we're coming in with
• 0:13
  praise and Thanksgiving. God, we thank you for another
• 0:17
  day. Lord, we thank you for waking us
• 0:19
  up. We thank you that we can come
• 0:21
  and learn from you, that we can come and dine and Sup with you.
• 0:26
  Father, I pray that you'll clear the air today.
• 0:29
  God, I pray that you will bind the enemy from off of this time.
• 0:33
  God, I pray in the name of Jesus that you will shut the mouths of
• 0:37
  the lion. God, I pray that you'll silence
• 0:41
  the accusations of the enemy. God, I pray that we'll be
• 0:46
  peacemakers today. God, I pray that we'll be more
• 0:49
  than conquerors today. God, I pray that somebody gets
• 0:52
  saved today. God, I pray that you'll keep
• 0:55
  leading them home. God, I pray that we'll be your
• 0:58
  hands and feet today. Lord, just help us.
• 1:02
  Help us to know that you're near.
• 1:04
  Help us to know that you're fighting our battles.
• 1:06
  God, strengthen us as we put on the full armor today.
• 1:11
  Lord, I pray that you'll give us crystal clear direction.
• 1:16
  Lord, I pray that your words will jump off the page.
• 1:21
  God, your words are alive and active.
• 1:23
  They're sharper than any 2 edged sword.
• 1:26
  So I decrease as you increase. Holy Spirit, teach us and guide
• 1:30
  us. Give us discernment.
• 1:33
  Help us to know what it is that you want us to do today.
• 1:36
  Lord, we just want to perform your will today.
• 1:40
  Strengthen us, Lord, in your mighty and holy precious name.
• 1:44
  I pray, Amen. Let's start in verse one.
• 1:51
  This. Know also that in the last days,
• 1:55
  perilous times shall come. So it's going to be worse than
• 2:00
  it's ever been ever. And we're starting to see those
• 2:05
  outer bands today. We're starting to see all of the
• 2:09
  things that we're about to read happening, and they're going to
• 2:13
  grow worse and worse and worse as time goes on.
• 2:17
  And we could experience revival. We could experience these waves
• 2:22
  of the most amazing revival where people return back to the
• 2:27
  Lord and He heals their land because of their repentance.
• 2:30
  Praise God for that, but just know that we are on a definitive
• 2:37
  timeline and because God said it, it's going to happen and
• 2:42
  there's nothing that mankind can do to thwart prophecy from
• 2:46
  coming to fruition. It just does not work that way.
• 2:50
  We can hit pause while revival breaks out, but church history
• 2:56
  will show you that every time the revival breaks out, it is
• 3:00
  met on the other side by an amazing amount of persecution.
• 3:05
  So this is what we ought to do. We ought to believe the Word of
• 3:10
  God for what it says. We need to take the Word of God
• 3:14
  seriously and literally, friends.
• 3:17
  And you're going to find that as you do that, you're going to see
• 3:21
  everything in the world happening exactly in full
• 3:26
  accordance with what God Almighty has said.
• 3:29
  And here God is going to show us what it is that we need to look
• 3:34
  out for these little indicators of the last days that are going
• 3:40
  to be perilous to. For men shall be lovers of own
• 3:46
  selves, covetous boasters, proud blasphemers, disobedient to
• 3:53
  parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection,
• 3:59
  trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce despisers of
• 4:06
  those that are good, traitors, heady, high minded, lovers of
• 4:11
  pleasure more than lovers of God, having a form of godliness,
• 4:16
  but denying the power thereof from such turn away.
• 4:20
  This is apostasy, friends. This is what it looks like
• 4:24
  whenever people fall away from the faith.
• 4:28
  This is the byproduct of a society who cares nothing for
• 4:33
  the Word of God, and they're just wanting to cherry pick
• 4:37
  verses to fit their own theology.
• 4:39
  They're wanting to cherry pick verses because they have fear of
• 4:43
  man, because they're twisting scripture just like Satan did to
• 4:47
  fit their own lifestyle. And it does not work that way.
• 4:51
  These people are lovers of their own selves.
• 4:54
  You can see it happening all around.
• 4:57
  You can see the selfie movement. You can see where everybody
• 5:01
  wants to hear their own selves. You can see covetous.
• 5:05
  These people want what everyone else has.
• 5:09
  They're looking and they are not content boasters.
• 5:12
  Look at how we actually applaud those that are proud and haughty
• 5:18
  and boast about what they can do.
• 5:20
  Look at how these they're blasphemers.
• 5:22
  They have No Fear of God. They say whatever they want
• 5:26
  against God and they don't think that they're going to have to
• 5:28
  pay the penalty. They're disobedient to parents.
• 5:32
  You can see it now. Parents authority has been
• 5:35
  stripped from them and they are not disciplining their children.
• 5:39
  And now we're seeing an entire generation of children that are
• 5:43
  very disobedient towards their parents.
• 5:46
  Look at how they're unthankful. There's no gratitude.
• 5:50
  They expect it. They are those that are entitled
• 5:54
  and you can see it all around us.
• 5:57
  They're unholy. They disregard anything that is
• 6:01
  set apart. They think that they can mix in
• 6:06
  the profane with the holy and it does not work that way without
• 6:11
  natural affection. You can see it friends,
• 6:13
  especially within the family unit where parents do not have
• 6:19
  affection towards their children.
• 6:22
  They call them all kinds of names and they are crude and
• 6:27
  rude. And it is this sin cycle of the
• 6:30
  disobedient children, the parents who refuse to
• 6:34
  discipline, and then their hands are tied and they are without
• 6:39
  natural affection towards their own children.
• 6:43
  They're truce Breakers, which means that they don't even hold
• 6:46
  their word. Their word means nothing.
• 6:49
  They're false accusers. They just accuse people so that
• 6:53
  they can keep climbing the corporate ladder, so they can
• 6:56
  get out of the trouble that they're in.
• 6:59
  They accuse people wrongly to try to dis, to defame them and
• 7:05
  to dishonor them and for themselves to look better than
• 7:11
  the other. You can see that they are
• 7:15
  incontinent. They can't even hold themselves
• 7:19
  back. It is as if they have no
• 7:21
  self-control. They're fierce, meaning that
• 7:24
  they are brutal people, that they are always stirring up
• 7:30
  strife. They're stirring up anger and
• 7:32
  rage. They're despisers of anything
• 7:35
  that's good. And the Bible tells us, woe to
• 7:38
  you who call evil good and good evil traitors, which means that
• 7:44
  they go off on the wrong side, heady.
• 7:48
  That means that they are too high minded.
• 7:52
  They're too lofty. They do not come down from their
• 7:57
  high position to actually try to understand the common ground.
• 8:02
  They're high minded. They think of themselves as
• 8:05
  better than others. They're lovers of pleasure more
• 8:08
  than lovers of God. They are addicted to pleasure,
• 8:12
  pleasure and pleasantries, and they do not care for the holy
• 8:16
  things of God Almighty. They have a form of godliness,
• 8:20
  but they deny the power of it. And God tells us from such
• 8:24
  people we have the permission to turn away from them.
• 8:28
  We're going to learn and Titus, that whenever somebody is
• 8:31
  divisive, we warn them and we warn them again and then we have
• 8:35
  nothing to do with them because they are warped and self
• 8:40
  condemned and God gives us an out after we have already spoken
• 8:45
  to those and already told them the error of their ways.
• 8:48
  If they will not change, then God tells us to stay away from
• 8:52
  such 6/4 of this sort are they which creep into houses, lead
• 8:58
  captive, silly women, laden with sins and LED away with diverse
• 9:03
  lust. You can see what it all boils
• 9:05
  down to. This lustful, perverse, wicked
• 9:13
  culture that is steeped in sexual idolatry and you can see
• 9:20
  that they creep in to houses and they lead many people astray. 7
• 9:28
  Ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the
• 9:31
  truth. That is apostasy in a nutshell.
• 9:34
  Friends, they hold and they house and they look the part of
• 9:38
  the word of God, but deep down they're teaching the things that
• 9:43
  are opposite of God, and they never come to the saving
• 9:47
  knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ and the atonement for
• 9:51
  their sins. Friends, they never come to the
• 9:54
  saving knowledge that Jesus Christ is enough.
• 9:58
  They are ever learning, but they're so completely chaotic
• 10:03
  and confused. 8 Now as Jan's and John Braves withstood Moses, so
• 10:10
  do these also resist the truth. Men of corrupt minds reprobate
• 10:14
  concerning the faith. So we can see back in Romans
• 10:18
  chapter 1 where God gives them over to a reprobate mind because
• 10:23
  they refuse the truth. They refuse to love God, Their
• 10:27
  love themselves, they love the world, they love pleasure, they
• 10:31
  love twisting scripture to lead people astray, and God gives
• 10:36
  them over because they delighted themselves in evil and refused
• 10:40
  to love the truth. 9:00 But they shall proceed no further, for
• 10:47
  their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also
• 10:52
  was. So God has an expiration date
• 10:55
  and he's going to bring it all to the light.
• 10:57
  And they don't just keep going and going and going.
• 11:01
  It is a satanic revolt. There are people who are
• 11:04
  hijacked by the enemy and they sure look the part, but deep
• 11:08
  down they're leading people astray.
• 11:10
  And those are the ones we need to be careful.
• 11:13
  Those are the ones we need to stay away from.
• 11:15
  Those are the ones we need to warn people about friends.
• 11:19
  And there are many denominations.
• 11:20
  There are many people. And it's no wonder that people
• 11:24
  have fallen away from the true faith because they've been
• 11:28
  burned by the these ravenous wolves in sheep's clothing,
• 11:32
  They've been burned by these false teachers.
• 11:35
  They've been burned by these false prophets.
• 11:37
  And you can see it. But that is why we need to be
• 11:40
  rooted and grounded in God's Word.
• 11:43
  That is why we need to read God's Word for ourselves, house
• 11:46
  it and hold it and hide it, friends, within your heart and
• 11:49
  your mind and the recesses of your entire psyche, and bury it
• 11:54
  deep within your heart, so that whenever the counterfeit comes,
• 11:58
  you'll know it. And that is why we study the
• 12:01
  entirety of God's Word from Genesis to Revelation, so that
• 12:05
  we're not duped and we're not LED astray. 10 But you have
• 12:12
  fully known my doctrine, the manner of life, purpose, faith,
• 12:16
  long-suffering, charity, patience, 11 persecutions,
• 12:21
  afflictions which came unto me at Antioch and Iconium and
• 12:25
  Lystra, What persecutions I endured, but out of them all the
• 12:29
  Lord delivered me. So Paul is wanting Timothy to
• 12:33
  hearken back to the time where Paul was persecuted and stoned,
• 12:39
  and whenever he was in Lystra, which was Timothy's hometown,
• 12:43
  and he would make Timothy remember that time of all the
• 12:48
  things that Paul has suffered for the gospel sake.
• 12:51
  And it is worth our laying down of our lives for our brother's
• 12:56
  friends. And Paul was spared then, but he
• 12:58
  knows that it's time here in the prison that is coming to a
• 13:03
  close, and he's about to have to give up the ghost.
• 13:07
  And he's counted the cost. He's run the race well.
• 13:10
  And he's letting Timothy know that it was all for the gospel.
• 13:14
  It was for the propagation of the Lord Jesus Christ as our
• 13:19
  Savior, the Son of God. And there is no other way to God
• 13:23
  Almighty than through Jesus Christ.
• 13:25
  And whenever we come to the Lord Jesus Christ, we're covered in
• 13:29
  the blood of Jesus, and God doesn't see any of our sins.
• 13:33
  And whenever we finally realize that we'll want to do the things
• 13:36
  that God desires of us, it's not that we have to.
• 13:40
  And there are, there's the apostate church here that Paul
• 13:45
  is wanting Timothy to know about, that they preach and
• 13:49
  teach things that are counter to the saving of the Lord Jesus
• 13:53
  Christ because they want to Lord over people.
• 13:56
  They're only using the word of God for their own selfish,
• 13:59
  greedy gain. And they're lording over people
• 14:03
  taking their money and they're wanting to keep them in a
• 14:06
  suspended state of questioning of where they're going to spend
• 14:10
  eternity. And it's the gospel is simple,
• 14:13
  friends, but it's man who complicates it.
• 14:16
  It's all about Christ and Christ crucified. 12 Yeah.
• 14:22
  And all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer
• 14:26
  persecution. It's on the table, friends.
• 14:29
  You don't get around it. You can't skirt around it.
• 14:32
  If you love the Lord God Almighty with all your heart,
• 14:35
  with all your mind, with all your strength, you will be
• 14:39
  persecuted. And it might be subtle
• 14:41
  persecution where you get passed over for the promotion.
• 14:45
  It might be the jeers and the Snickers of people who care
• 14:48
  nothing for God, those that are steeped in worldly idol worship.
• 14:54
  And whenever they see you, you convict them and they don't like
• 14:57
  it, and so they say all kinds of nasty things towards you.
• 15:02
  And Jesus Christ told us to count it all as joy.
• 15:07
  They hated Him first, so it's no wonder that they hate you.
• 15:10
  They persecuted Him first, so it's no wonder that they'll
• 15:13
  persecute you. And Paul here is letting us know
• 15:17
  that if we will truly follow after the Lord Jesus Christ, you
• 15:23
  will have persecution. 13 But evil men and seducers shall grow
• 15:29
  worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.
• 15:33
  It could not be any more plain in Scripture that from the time
• 15:38
  that Christ left this earth 2000 years ago, things have gotten
• 15:43
  worse and worse. And there are many who would
• 15:46
  say, well, no, we've had times of growth and times of revival.
• 15:51
  And that is true in the sense that we had a season where
• 15:56
  things seemed to get better, but in the grand scale of things,
• 16:04
  things have only gotten worse and worse.
• 16:06
  And it's like birth pains. You're starting to see these
• 16:10
  major cataclysmic events happening closer and closer and
• 16:15
  closer together. Friends, before the head crowns,
• 16:18
  and the Son of glory comes back, Hallelujah, Jesus Christ. 14 But
• 16:26
  continue you in the things which you have learned, and have been
• 16:30
  assured of knowing of whom you have learned them. 15 and that
• 16:36
  from a child. You have known the Holy
• 16:38
  Scriptures, which are able to make you wise unto salvation
• 16:42
  through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
• 16:45
  So Timothy was brought up in the Old Testament and Eunice and
• 16:49
  Lois, they taught him the grandmother and the mother, they
• 16:52
  trained him up in the way they should go.
• 16:54
  And now he is is older and he will not depart from it.
• 16:57
  And Paul is stirring him back up into remembrance of how all the
• 17:01
  Old Testament pointed towards Jesus Christ.
• 17:05
  It pointed towards him coming in the way that he did.
• 17:09
  And so many of the Jews missed it.
• 17:13
  But just like today, there were some Jews who actually got it.
• 17:17
  And when they did, they were blessed because they could see
• 17:20
  all the scriptures of old pointing towards Christ Jesus.
• 17:26
  16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is
• 17:33
  profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for
• 17:44
  instruction in righteousness. So we can see here that all the
• 17:49
  Scripture from Genesis all the way to Malachi and then from
• 17:55
  Matthew all the way to revelation is God's Word.
• 18:01
  It is God breathed, it is inspired by the Holy Spirit
• 18:06
  penned by men, and it is profitable for people to be
• 18:12
  saved. We do not need to add anything
• 18:15
  and we do not need to subtract anything.
• 18:18
  And it does not matter if you believe that it's true or not.
• 18:23
  It does not change the facts. It does not change the reality
• 18:29
  that Scripture is completely reliable and completely
• 18:35
  trustworthy, and it is the only piece of literature on planet
• 18:42
  Earth that is alive and active and has the ability to predict
• 18:46
  itself to the degree that it has and that it will.
• 18:50
  Friends, this is unlike any other book on planet Earth.
• 18:55
  And that is how we know that we know that we know that.
• 18:58
  We know that it is God's word on a page.
• 19:01
  And if you are hostile towards it, it is because the Lord God
• 19:05
  Almighty is not indwelling you and allowing you to see the
• 19:11
  totality, the completion of God's Word, that we do not have
• 19:16
  anything in this Bible that shouldn't be there.
• 19:19
  And there's nothing that's not here that needs to be.
• 19:23
  Everything else is just historical.
• 19:26
  Everything else is opinion. And it is only the word of God
• 19:30
  that is reliable and true. 17 that the man of God may be
• 19:37
  perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
• 19:44
  So that is what the purpose of the Word of God is.
• 19:48
  It is all that we need. It is everything in completion
• 19:53
  that we need for ministry. We do not need to waver, we do
• 19:59
  not need to second guess, and we also don't need to apologize for
• 20:04
  what the Bible says. It says what it says and that
• 20:09
  settles it. It means what it says.
• 20:13
  We read it literally, friends if it is.
• 20:19
  A poem, or if it is allegory, we read it literally in the sense
• 20:26
  that it means what it says and it says what it means, and we
• 20:31
  take it seriously. And when you will approach the
• 20:34
  word of God like that, then every little piece of the puzzle
• 20:39
  starts fitting together. And whenever you turn on the
• 20:43
  nightly news, when you turn on wherever you get your
• 20:48
  notifications from, you will see as new events spring up.
• 20:54
  They all line up perfectly with God's Word.
• 20:58
  And we can bank on it. We can build our life on it.

  The chief cornerstone. I hope you've been blessed by

  this amazing chapter in God's Word.
