Transcript
- 0:25Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome to Fandominium, a Pandemonium mini episode that
- 0:30Speaker 1: we keep on the books in case real life or
- 0:33Speaker 1: my poor scheduling has gotten in the way of releasing
- 0:36Speaker 1: a full episode. Which one is it? I'll never tell.
- 0:41Speaker 1: I'm your games master and person with poor scheduling, Matt
- 0:44Speaker 1: Watson and joining me today at two of my favorite
- 0:49Speaker 1: gate sleepers. You know them, you love them. It's Audra Stephenson. Hello,
- 0:53Speaker 1: and Drew Shulman.
- 0:55Speaker 2: How doy everyone?
- 0:56Speaker 1: Hello?
- 0:57Speaker 3: Hello?
- 0:57Speaker 1: How are you both doing?
- 0:58Speaker 2: I'm doing lovely?
- 1:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm doing good.
- 1:02Speaker 4: I got ginger ale Cranberry mocktail, beautiful, living my best life.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Thank you for making me one as well.
- 1:09Speaker 4: Of course I had to split the can and so
- 1:15Speaker 4: I might as well have made a second one.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Are you you drinking anything?
- 1:18Speaker 2: DRNK. I have a little white wine here. It's a
- 1:21Speaker 2: little bottle we opened up. It's Friday night. The wife
- 1:24Speaker 2: had half a glass, so she's already in bed, so
- 1:26Speaker 2: the rest of the bottle is mine to not finish.
- 1:29Speaker 2: But I have a few more SIPs of of course.
- 1:31Speaker 3: Of course, why do you think I have mocktails?
- 1:36Speaker 1: First off, up top gang, Fandominium. What do we think
- 1:40Speaker 1: of that. I think that's quite clever branding.
- 1:42Speaker 2: I was gonna make a joke about how like did
- 1:44Speaker 2: you rebrand the show just so you'd have that as
- 1:46Speaker 2: a joke you can make down the line, because then
- 1:48Speaker 2: it's too good.
- 1:51Speaker 4: Honestly, I can't believe it took us this long to
- 1:54Speaker 4: come up with it. Between Pandemonium and Fandominium, Like, ooh ooh,
- 1:59Speaker 4: it's so cute, it's.
- 2:00Speaker 2: So truly truly love it, and I also just picture
- 2:03Speaker 2: it like it's a little witty podcast. You can even
- 2:05Speaker 2: your little park in your genes that like you can
- 2:08Speaker 2: only put like lipstick in or something.
- 2:11Speaker 4: Either that or an apartment. You can buy.
- 2:17Speaker 1: A Fandominium a fandominium, and.
- 2:20Speaker 2: The fan is fantasy because we can afford apartments in
- 2:22Speaker 2: this universe.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Oh good stuff. Well, thanks guys, thanks for the compliments
- 2:28Speaker 1: on the On the branding, we're.
- 2:29Speaker 3: All out of compliments. We will not compliment the games.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Yeah no, it's it's harsh criticism here on out good.
- 2:36Speaker 1: I wouldn't expect anything less, And the branding might not
- 2:39Speaker 1: even make sense because this will this will probably still
- 2:41Speaker 1: go an hour, So thank you for joining me for
- 2:45Speaker 1: these general knowledge fandom games. That's what we're we're going
- 2:49Speaker 1: to do here today. We're going to hit some popular
- 2:51Speaker 1: fandoms with a lot of mash up style games and
- 2:55Speaker 1: trial out some new games that you know might be
- 2:58Speaker 1: barely fit for public consumption. They might not work.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Hey, if anyone here is comfortable with games that might
- 3:05Speaker 2: not work, it's me.
- 3:08Speaker 3: I'm just I'm doing my best. I think it's fun.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Just high on the mocktail.
- 3:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm just having a fun time.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Okay, what's the next part of my notes here? I
- 3:17Speaker 1: coupled together this script in the last couple of days
- 3:19Speaker 1: and it's new. Oh yeah, and I should say we're
- 3:23Speaker 1: either releasing this the week that we record it or
- 3:26Speaker 1: like a year from now. So if we make any
- 3:29Speaker 1: topical reference that's old, you know, your Roman Empire.
- 3:37Speaker 3: We recorded this in twenty twenty three.
- 3:40Speaker 2: I was like, what is something from like five years ago?
- 3:42Speaker 2: I could reference it's but I feel like anything I
- 3:45Speaker 2: think it was either like three weeks old or three
- 3:47Speaker 2: million years old. There's no way.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Between just a reference from before we even met.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Like this dress I'm wearing that is blue and black?
- 3:54Speaker 2: Or oh.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Now, am I saying Yanny or Laura?
- 4:00Speaker 2: Yanny? A Laurel, do you do you see do you
- 4:03Speaker 2: see two people kissing? Or a vase? I don't know.
- 4:07Speaker 1: That was my elementary school man's that's been around since
- 4:11Speaker 1: the Victorian I think anyway, that's what this is. This
- 4:16Speaker 1: is a bit more loose. This is a bit more casual,
- 4:19Speaker 1: and with that it says casual opening chat here on
- 4:22Speaker 1: my so I've prepared some opening chat questions for you.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Both answer them in kind. My first question, do you
- 4:31Speaker 1: have a favorite mug that you use all the time
- 4:33Speaker 1: if it's clean?
- 4:34Speaker 2: Okay, we just had a conversation about muggs today. This
- 4:37Speaker 2: is such a weirdly topical thing. My wife and I
- 4:40Speaker 2: have like this. We refuse to get new mugs because
- 4:44Speaker 2: we have enough already, including several that almost never get used.
- 4:49Speaker 2: But the pantry that they're in is full. So like
- 4:53Speaker 2: if someone gives us one and it's like, ca, do
- 4:55Speaker 2: we like regift and donate this or do we actually
- 4:59Speaker 2: cycle it? Old went out for this one and like
- 5:01Speaker 2: we got one recently. It's like really personal and like
- 5:04Speaker 2: really cute with the family photo on. That's like as
- 5:06Speaker 2: a gift, we gotta keep this one. But which one
- 5:09Speaker 2: do you get rid of? And I'm weirdly using now
- 5:12Speaker 2: one that my wife recently got as a gift exchange gift,
- 5:15Speaker 2: like separate from the gift exchange. Someone saw ihunka mug
- 5:18Speaker 2: and was like, you're Jewish, and that's the thing I
- 5:21Speaker 2: know about you that is kind of unique to you
- 5:23Speaker 2: in this area. Sure, but it's a really good mug.
- 5:29Speaker 4: It's it's like all overlook your characterization.
- 5:33Speaker 3: It's like this is a real good mug.
- 5:36Speaker 2: It's like it was meant well, it's cute. I'm not
- 5:38Speaker 2: going to blame anyone for like seeing a hunka thing
- 5:40Speaker 2: and being like, I know a Jewish person, let me
- 5:43Speaker 2: get this for them. But it's like it's a good mug.
- 5:46Speaker 2: But it's also one of those like ray Dune mugs
- 5:47Speaker 2: that I just don't like on principles because it's like
- 5:49Speaker 2: that chatske like bullshit your mom. Yeah, but it's like
- 5:54Speaker 2: a weird shape and it feels so good to use.
- 5:57Speaker 2: It's like it's it's it was made for me.
- 6:00Speaker 4: You were talking about regifting mugs, and I was just like,
- 6:03Speaker 4: I would love to be regifted someone's mug that was
- 6:07Speaker 4: like cherished. And so they're like, I liked this mug,
- 6:10Speaker 4: but I just don't have room for it, but I
- 6:11Speaker 4: don't want to send it to a thrift store like I.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Would love that regifted mugs.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Imagine like a Christmas party with like secret Santa, but
- 6:20Speaker 2: you just like it's all like a mug with a
- 6:22Speaker 2: story of why you're like, why you've had it for
- 6:24Speaker 2: so long and while you're finally ready to let it go.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Uh huh mug swap. Elephant mug swap. Yeah, why elephant
- 6:31Speaker 1: mug swap.
- 6:31Speaker 4: I love that we're organizing one of these.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Absolutely, write it down for the gate leaf is Christmas
- 6:38Speaker 1: posse Yes much could be it, which could be in
- 6:41Speaker 1: a week from now, depend who knows.
- 6:44Speaker 2: I'll go let evan user scrooge. Oh no, I have
- 6:46Speaker 2: timestamped us.
- 6:51Speaker 3: Ora.
- 6:51Speaker 4: Have you got a mug that you like to use
- 6:53Speaker 4: all the time, I'm finding something out and I'm trying
- 6:56Speaker 4: to do something about it in my life where I
- 6:58Speaker 4: find I don't use my favorite things as much. So
- 7:02Speaker 4: I love we have a mug. It's a big mug
- 7:05Speaker 4: and it has brass knuckles on the side. It is
- 7:07Speaker 4: my favorite mug. I have not used this mug in
- 7:09Speaker 4: a year and a half because I'm just like, oh no,
- 7:13Speaker 4: I have to be balanced in all things, and so
- 7:16Speaker 4: I'm like, I can't use that one because I always
- 7:19Speaker 4: want to use that one, so it feels like I
- 7:21Speaker 4: always use it. Yeah, When I was a kid, I
- 7:23Speaker 4: had to wear like certain clothes that had animals on them.
- 7:27Speaker 4: I had to make sure that I wore those a
- 7:29Speaker 4: regular routine amount because the animals needed to go outside.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Oh that is so precious. I was like, I was
- 7:38Speaker 2: legit having the moment of like, oh, you didn't want
- 7:40Speaker 2: to wear the thing out, so we got like used
- 7:42Speaker 2: up too much and you had to then replace it,
- 7:44Speaker 2: and like you didn't want to lose that shirt. You
- 7:45Speaker 2: want to give as much longevity as possible to like
- 7:47Speaker 2: find that balance. No, no, you're just cuter and more doorable.
- 7:50Speaker 4: It was a push and pull because I was like,
- 7:52Speaker 4: I can't wear this out, and I think that's what
- 7:54Speaker 4: it is with a mug. But I had to time
- 7:56Speaker 4: it perfectly because that blue gingham top with a goose
- 8:00Speaker 4: on it, like it had to be walked at regular.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Interviw So just the mok need to go outside.
- 8:08Speaker 3: Maybe maybe that'll break the spell.
- 8:10Speaker 4: There you go, just go on a hike with the
- 8:12Speaker 4: brass knucklenuck after we bond.
- 8:17Speaker 2: The looks you would get that would be so well earned.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Oh those are some hilarious responses to that question, is
- 8:25Speaker 1: what I have written down here. I've got another question
- 8:29Speaker 1: for you. Which VHS did you watch the second most
- 8:33Speaker 1: in your childhood?
- 8:34Speaker 4: I may have mentioned it on the podcast, I probably haven't.
- 8:37Speaker 4: Why would I? I wore out The Cutthroat Island VHS,
- 8:43Speaker 4: a pirate movie that single handedly delayed Geena Davis's career.
- 8:47Speaker 1: But was that the one that you wore out that much?
- 8:49Speaker 3: I would say the second?
- 8:51Speaker 4: Okay, okay, after that would probably be The Great Mouse Detective.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Oh that's a good.
- 8:58Speaker 3: I watched the ship out of The Great Mouse Detective.
- 9:01Speaker 1: They've got English accents in that right, technically in trust.
- 9:06Speaker 2: I think they were Americans doing British accents, or at
- 9:08Speaker 2: least one of them.
- 9:09Speaker 4: Was British and Scottish accents to mix a miss.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Okay, should I get mousies or.
- 9:19Speaker 4: I will talk about it. It's Christmas now, Valentine's Day,
- 9:23Speaker 4: I'll be coming up soon, we'll talk about it.
- 9:27Speaker 2: I would actually say so one. I believe I'm gonna
- 9:29Speaker 2: fact check here. You did mention that VHS being worn out.
- 9:32Speaker 2: I can't remember what episode you brought it up on,
- 9:34Speaker 2: but I do remember it from a conversation I.
- 9:36Speaker 3: Felt like I had mentioned it and.
- 9:38Speaker 2: Then funny enough, I'm like trying to think, like what
- 9:41Speaker 2: are like because I know my brothers and I each
- 9:43Speaker 2: had like that movie we watched over and over and
- 9:45Speaker 2: over again. So like my like top tier, I definitely
- 9:49Speaker 2: wore this one out. Would have been The Jungle Book.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Oh yeah, But I'm trying to think of my second
- 9:55Speaker 2: most one, and I'm genuinely convinced it might be The
- 9:58Speaker 2: Rescuers down Under, the a sequel to yours like that,
- 10:03Speaker 2: because I love that movie.
- 10:06Speaker 4: Were both well swap mugs, We'll get mouse ears just
- 10:10Speaker 4: it's just mouse based.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Problem solving movies.
- 10:15Speaker 3: I guess. Yeah.
- 10:16Speaker 2: I think for me it was the villain in that
- 10:18Speaker 2: movie had a pet like Iguana. I'm her name, but
- 10:21Speaker 2: it's like she was the most like well animated and
- 10:24Speaker 2: was just like so well characterized and like in an
- 10:27Speaker 2: animated film. She was like, they're like the same way
- 10:31Speaker 2: the Genie is more animated than the rest of Aladdin.
- 10:34Speaker 2: She was more animated than the rest of the characters
- 10:36Speaker 2: who were meant to be a little more realistic. And
- 10:39Speaker 2: I guess adored her for it.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Yeah, it's I remember. I have not seen that movie
- 10:43Speaker 1: in since childhood, and I remember that iguana as soon
- 10:47Speaker 1: as soon as you said, I was like that iguana
- 10:49Speaker 1: was the star of the show.
- 10:50Speaker 2: Trying to think when the last one I would have
- 10:52Speaker 2: seen that movie is, but definitely like it might be
- 10:54Speaker 2: times we watched. Honestly, you managed to convince me to
- 10:56Speaker 2: go watch it tonight.
- 10:58Speaker 4: I will need to rewatch it because I think our
- 11:02Speaker 4: neighbor had it, but we didn't, And so I will
- 11:04Speaker 4: have seen it in my early youth, or I will
- 11:07Speaker 4: have seen it at some point in time in my youth,
- 11:09Speaker 4: but I don't know if I will have seen it since.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Interesting, so the iguana isn't as strong in the mind.
- 11:17Speaker 3: It's just fidget the bat.
- 11:19Speaker 2: Oh my god?
- 11:20Speaker 1: Yes, all right, Well before we start getting horny for
- 11:23Speaker 1: bats as well as here's a question for you both,
- 11:28Speaker 1: who is the most famous person you've ever had a
- 11:31Speaker 1: sex dream about?
- 11:32Speaker 2: Oh? Did not see that? Taking that twist at the
- 11:34Speaker 2: end there.
- 11:35Speaker 3: Uh, I guess the famous person I haven't did?
- 11:39Speaker 1: Well, here's the most famous Then that's the question. Because
- 11:43Speaker 1: I don't want to know about the dream I don't
- 11:44Speaker 1: know the details about the dream. I want to know
- 11:46Speaker 1: who you think the most famous person you've had a sex.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Here's the thing is I I'm very much one of
- 11:51Speaker 2: those people where I don't remember many of my dreams.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Like I I like weirdly one the other night that
- 11:57Speaker 2: really stuck with me. That was just a weird like
- 11:58Speaker 2: it was a horror movie that was like fully being
- 12:00Speaker 2: narrated and like the is if the shot list was
- 12:02Speaker 2: being read out as what was happening, So it was
- 12:04Speaker 2: more like filmmaker than scary. But it was clearly a
- 12:07Speaker 2: horror movie. But aside from like that, I haven't had
- 12:09Speaker 2: a dream I can recall in years. So the only
- 12:13Speaker 2: famous person I could think about having a sex dream
- 12:17Speaker 2: is Rid, a repulse of the main villain from the
- 12:19Speaker 2: original Power Rangers, at.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Least once so famous.
- 12:25Speaker 2: I'm stretched there, but only when that comes to mind.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Honestly, No, thank you for I appreciate you for answering
- 12:31Speaker 1: that is that if that's the most famous person you
- 12:33Speaker 1: can remember, then that is the most famous person.
- 12:35Speaker 4: Yeah, I have dreams where I have like close encounters.
- 12:40Speaker 4: I do not have a sex dream about every celebrity,
- 12:42Speaker 4: but I do have dreams about close encounters?
- 12:44Speaker 1: Have you got one wed at the close encount I
- 12:45Speaker 1: got a little closer.
- 12:47Speaker 2: Did you have one where it was with the guy
- 12:49Speaker 2: who's who's the star of Close Encounters? The third kind?
- 12:51Speaker 2: Something I can't remember right now because I can't remember
- 12:53Speaker 2: movie actors.
- 12:53Speaker 1: A close encounter, A close encounter?
- 12:56Speaker 2: Guess was it with et? Oh? I mean like creepy
- 13:06Speaker 2: but like probably like they're like really like, I don't know,
- 13:10Speaker 2: Yeah either way on that.
- 13:11Speaker 1: One, I think there's a reason there's not eighty sex toys.
- 13:15Speaker 2: Yeah that you know of.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that I know of. That's true.
- 13:19Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I cannot pinpoint anything in particular, but wow,
- 13:26Speaker 4: because of our shared I do know there's been a
- 13:28Speaker 4: couple of gens and ackles ones.
- 13:30Speaker 3: I do know that for sure.
- 13:32Speaker 1: He's pretty yeah, and I think.
- 13:34Speaker 3: That if he was just I guess super nap.
- 13:37Speaker 4: But like the boys, he's continuing on in his like prevalence,
- 13:42Speaker 4: less so than Jared Padillaki.
- 13:44Speaker 3: When what is the last thing we heard.
- 13:46Speaker 2: From supporting gun rights in Texas? So yeah, no over him?
- 13:52Speaker 1: Bye, Well, thank you for answering the questions, both of you.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Tree's answer was a little braveer then was Aldrip that's okay.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Just before we get to the games, is it okay
- 14:03Speaker 1: to cry? Yeah? Yes, that's the correct answer. On with
- 14:08Speaker 1: the games. Our first game we'll be playing today. It's
- 14:11Speaker 1: a bit of an experiment and it feels too chaotic
- 14:15Speaker 1: to trial with four players, so we're trialing it with
- 14:18Speaker 1: two to see if it upscales.
- 14:20Speaker 2: Okay, I'm atrigued.
- 14:22Speaker 1: In turn, I will spin this wheel. Each color represents
- 14:26Speaker 1: a category. The player will have thirty seconds to name
- 14:30Speaker 1: as many things from that category as possible, all while
- 14:34Speaker 1: the other player, on a quieter distrack, is allowed to
- 14:38Speaker 1: say anything they want to distract the player offering answers.
- 14:44Speaker 2: I am so prepared for neither of these, but so excited.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Oh this this game is called Distracts. Yeah, I like it.
- 14:55Speaker 2: That makes sense.
- 14:56Speaker 1: Yes, branding, praise me.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Question for you, Matt, how name of the game before
- 15:01Speaker 2: the game itself.
- 15:03Speaker 1: In the case of this episode, it was the title
- 15:06Speaker 1: first and then the game second.
- 15:08Speaker 2: I do kind of love that because I've also done
- 15:10Speaker 2: that for press play.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Yeah, because I normally think about it, not so much
- 15:17Speaker 1: for this one. This we're getting experimental, baby, Okay, so
- 15:22Speaker 1: I guess I should get like thirty seconds upon here,
- 15:24Speaker 1: so this is ready to go.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Well, he's doing that. I will at Chiner right now
- 15:28Speaker 2: that whatever is between the brown and the yellow and
- 15:32Speaker 2: the yellow and the peel are the same color to
- 15:34Speaker 2: me because my color blindness.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Oh yes, see that the number of things that this
- 15:40Speaker 1: podcast is implemented in last year, that's not not friendly.
- 15:44Speaker 2: At the end of the day, I don't think it's
- 15:45Speaker 2: going to affect it because you're going to see the
- 15:47Speaker 2: color and tell me what the category is. Yes, but
- 15:50Speaker 2: tell me it lands on green, and I want know
- 15:52Speaker 2: which one it was. You can lie to me.
- 15:54Speaker 3: I'm not gonna. I can't. I simply can't mean dissing
- 16:00Speaker 3: is going to be uh.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Who I'm very that goes with that order. I think
- 16:04Speaker 1: you're gonna diss first. Okay, So Drew, I will spin
- 16:08Speaker 1: the wheel for you and we'll find out what can't agree.
- 16:11Speaker 1: You get that looks like the yellow to me, there.
- 16:13Speaker 2: That's a color I can color difference of bonus, Drew,
- 16:19Speaker 2: you have thirty seconds to name as many nouns in
- 16:22Speaker 2: the lyrics to the SpongeBob SquarePants theme song Pineapple.
- 16:27Speaker 4: See hi, I'm just trying to name sponge Weren't all
- 16:31Speaker 4: nouns weren't all announced, but you know, who even knows
- 16:38Speaker 4: what any.
- 16:41Speaker 3: Like what is an a yellow? Should have prepared me
- 16:47Speaker 3: for this.
- 16:48Speaker 2: No, just described sponge, but.
- 16:53Speaker 1: I add for that's your time.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Both.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Okay, that was like absolute audio chaos, but I can
- 16:59Speaker 1: already see it adding editing together perfectly. That is exactly
- 17:02Speaker 1: what I wanted to do.
- 17:03Speaker 2: I was seeing myself. I'm pretty sure, sorry, which is
- 17:07Speaker 2: not good.
- 17:08Speaker 1: It was so good. You got four, You got the
- 17:13Speaker 1: big hitters from right up top. Because yes, like I
- 17:17Speaker 1: will accept pants and sponge they are nouns. I think
- 17:22Speaker 1: it was just more than nouns in the second half
- 17:24Speaker 1: of the song that you were missing of getting to
- 17:26Speaker 1: that bit so like deck and fish.
- 17:28Speaker 2: Oh, get down the deck and flop like a Yes.
- 17:31Speaker 2: For some reason, my mind got to the second line,
- 17:33Speaker 2: which was just describing SpongeBob as yellow and porous, and
- 17:36Speaker 2: I'm like, if you're just describing the same dude, it's
- 17:39Speaker 2: all adjectives, all adjectives, adjectives all the way down.
- 17:43Speaker 3: That was literally all I was talking about.
- 17:46Speaker 2: I tuned you out so well, but all I heard
- 17:49Speaker 2: was you complaining those word nows.
- 17:53Speaker 4: Honestly, what is a noun? Anyway, did we know, like,
- 17:56Speaker 4: what's like Schoolhouse Rock should have prepared me for this?
- 17:59Speaker 3: What's an advert?
- 18:00Speaker 2: I know?
- 18:00Speaker 3: A conjunction?
- 18:02Speaker 2: Yeah, seriously, adverbs are the weird ones, like no one
- 18:04Speaker 2: really knows for sure. Yeah, oh, I'm excited for my
- 18:06Speaker 2: iron to this.
- 18:08Speaker 1: You're it's gonna get a turn of revenge here, And
- 18:12Speaker 1: I'm now thinking maybe a full lineup would be fun
- 18:15Speaker 1: because you'd have other people who are reacting to the disses. Yes,
- 18:20Speaker 1: which is very entertaining.
- 18:22Speaker 2: The team discing could be really fun too, uh huh.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Okay, Oldra, Let's let's find out what color you've got here?
- 18:28Speaker 1: That's like pink to me?
- 18:29Speaker 3: Pink?
- 18:30Speaker 1: Okay, what's the one next to the pink?
- 18:32Speaker 3: Then it's weird?
- 18:33Speaker 1: This one here that's like brown, Yeah, that's like a
- 18:36Speaker 1: brownie red. And the other one is This one's orange.
- 18:40Speaker 1: They look very similar on cara. Yeah, they are very
- 18:43Speaker 1: close to each other on camera. They are almost indistinguishable
- 18:47Speaker 1: from me.
- 18:48Speaker 2: Okay, so it might it might be less than just me.
- 18:51Speaker 4: Okay, good to know it's multiple factors at play.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Okay, Drew, are you ready to diss?
- 18:57Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 18:58Speaker 1: And Odra, you'll have thirty seconds to name as many
- 19:02Speaker 1: named Barbie's in Greta go makes Bobby, this.
- 19:05Speaker 2: Is perfectly so. Essentially what science party where you have
- 19:12Speaker 2: over your head. Essentially, what you're trying to do is
- 19:16Speaker 2: get to a solution, experiment, experiment, you're approving hypothesis, the hypothesis.
- 19:24Speaker 3: Usually designer Nobel laureate.
- 19:27Speaker 2: You might do experiments, you might take polls, you might
- 19:29Speaker 2: talk to people. Standard part of a lab is a
- 19:32Speaker 2: place where you do experiments with test tubes.
- 19:35Speaker 3: And the time.
- 19:40Speaker 4: I don't I'm trying to think of what was I
- 19:44Speaker 4: didn't want the crazy.
- 19:47Speaker 3: It's not crazy, Barbie, it's.
- 19:49Speaker 1: The music, Barbie. Well, yeah, you you threw out a
- 19:55Speaker 1: couple of there that weren't in it, but for the
- 19:57Speaker 1: for the most part, they were. And you even go
- 20:00Speaker 1: in just standard Bobby at the end, which I'll have
- 20:02Speaker 1: as well as just Bobby, Bobby, you got six damn hmm.
- 20:09Speaker 2: My man's plating science to you incorrectly didn't distract you enough.
- 20:15Speaker 3: Just like you said, I was locked in.
- 20:18Speaker 2: You get so focused on your own bullshit like everything
- 20:20Speaker 2: else is like it was the fact that my logic
- 20:23Speaker 2: was like I was like, what do I do? What
- 20:24Speaker 2: do I do to do?
- 20:25Speaker 3: Oh?
- 20:25Speaker 2: What if I just like man's play, like it's an
- 20:27Speaker 2: annoying thing'll get on your nerves. And then it was
- 20:30Speaker 2: literally about Barbie, and I'm like, oh, that just adds
- 20:32Speaker 2: so much to the pain.
- 20:35Speaker 4: It's Barbie. I'll tell you about science. I am in
- 20:39Speaker 4: pink top and bottom right now.
- 20:42Speaker 1: This is my Bobby.
- 20:43Speaker 3: This is my nurse Barbie.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Because these are scrubs, Nurse Bobby, Nurse Barbie, not one
- 20:49Speaker 1: of the ones on the list. I'm afraid she's a
- 20:51Speaker 1: doctor in that film exactly.
- 20:52Speaker 2: I was gonna say, like, she's she's a full doctor.
- 20:55Speaker 2: Barbies can be doctors.
- 20:57Speaker 1: To matt Y, Yeah, God, matt the doctor was his mom.
- 21:04Speaker 2: He stood on a block of ice matting. You like
- 21:09Speaker 2: old like obvious answers to the riddles.
- 21:11Speaker 4: You let the air out of the tires. God, I
- 21:15Speaker 4: feel so force was named Friday. I don't know what
- 21:20Speaker 4: that one is.
- 21:20Speaker 2: I don't know the tire would either, will be honest
- 21:22Speaker 2: to catch up later on that one.
- 21:25Speaker 1: All right, Well, in the meantime, do you want another
- 21:27Speaker 1: spin each another? Absolutely?
- 21:31Speaker 2: This is fun to redeem myself.
- 21:33Speaker 1: Okay, so Audrey, you'll be back to dissing Drew. Let's
- 21:37Speaker 1: uh let's get you a new category here.
- 21:39Speaker 2: I'm just named Pokemon. Give me that one.
- 21:42Speaker 1: Well, let's find out what purple represents here, Drew, you
- 21:45Speaker 1: have thirty seconds to name as many what each of
- 21:49Speaker 1: the Hunger Games districts are known for.
- 21:53Speaker 3: I freaking love games. Collins is an I've.
- 21:57Speaker 2: Seen the movie. I could not tell you anything about it.
- 22:00Speaker 2: District nine is the one I think she's strum or
- 22:03Speaker 2: is that the movie with the aliens? Ever?
- 22:05Speaker 3: District for.
- 22:08Speaker 2: District one has to be government officials and rich idiots.
- 22:12Speaker 2: Thirteen is like the highest numbers. That's where all the
- 22:15Speaker 2: slaves ARC are being to be like slaves. They're not
- 22:18Speaker 2: actually slaves because it's a system. Two was going to
- 22:21Speaker 2: be like the rich party people. Yeah, people with money.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Was just saying they were all cocaine.
- 22:31Speaker 2: Like cocaine. I'm like, what am I missing?
- 22:35Speaker 3: Drew?
- 22:35Speaker 1: I'm going to give you one point because you did
- 22:38Speaker 1: say District one was about rich idiots, and that pretty
- 22:41Speaker 1: much is what District one is about.
- 22:43Speaker 2: What is what is her?
- 22:44Speaker 1: District Catinus is uh, mining like a.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Coal coal? What number is she?
- 22:53Speaker 1: Twelve?
- 22:55Speaker 2: I knew like thirteen was gonna be like the people
- 22:57Speaker 2: you like that get shipped on by all the rich people.
- 22:59Speaker 4: I think thirteen I say that I loved these and
- 23:02Speaker 4: when I was dissing.
- 23:03Speaker 1: I think thirteen was like nuclear Yeah, thirteen was like
- 23:06Speaker 1: the hidden secret one that was yeah nukes.
- 23:09Speaker 2: Oh yeah, No. I saw the movies and again they
- 23:12Speaker 2: went over my head a little. They were like one
- 23:13Speaker 2: of those I saw them because they were like in
- 23:15Speaker 2: the Zeit case.
- 23:15Speaker 1: But it wasn't oh yeah, that's it. And that's the
- 23:17Speaker 1: randomness of the wheel can It can just get you,
- 23:20Speaker 1: but it does lead you to saying the things that
- 23:22Speaker 1: you said. And for Adro to say cocaine, it's cocaine.
- 23:25Speaker 3: It's cocaine. That one's the cocaine one.
- 23:28Speaker 2: District four is the cocaine bear district. I also legit
- 23:32Speaker 2: believe District nine was a thing that was like no,
- 23:34Speaker 2: ain't the movie, Yeah that was great. Legitimately was like, oh,
- 23:38Speaker 2: I know, district I've heard it before. It has to
- 23:40Speaker 2: be one of them. Wait, no, I'm conflating my media.
- 23:44Speaker 1: That's the South African alien one.
- 23:48Speaker 2: That one.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Okay, now we're gonna have Drew be the distract Dissa
- 23:55Speaker 1: uh and Odra be the spinner.
- 23:58Speaker 2: I'm very ready for this one.
- 23:59Speaker 1: I spun it quite intensely. Let's you say Orange, Yes, Drew,
- 24:04Speaker 1: are you ready to diss?
- 24:05Speaker 2: Yeah? I was a rapper there for a second.
- 24:08Speaker 1: I don't know what it's because I've introduced the concept
- 24:11Speaker 1: of a disc track. There you go, okay, and you
- 24:16Speaker 1: will have thirty seconds to name as many songs from
- 24:21Speaker 1: the Lion King?
- 24:23Speaker 3: Can you feel?
- 24:24Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 24:25Speaker 3: Yeah, one the Circle of Life.
- 24:31Speaker 2: There's also the one one day Jungle.
- 24:37Speaker 3: Where's who is.
- 24:42Speaker 2: Small? Because names.
- 24:52Speaker 3: I don't know any time?
- 24:53Speaker 1: That's your time. You got a good run in there.
- 24:57Speaker 1: You named three big hitters up top to give you
- 25:00Speaker 1: three points, and then you remember the ditties and jingles
- 25:03Speaker 1: from it, but not actually the names of them. You
- 25:05Speaker 1: just said pumba hula and of you because you and
- 25:11Speaker 1: I know which two songs you mean. They're not soundtracked,
- 25:16Speaker 1: but I would have accepted.
- 25:17Speaker 4: Did you own the soundtrack? Sazu's reprise?
- 25:24Speaker 2: That was funny enough? Blin king my brother's worn out
- 25:27Speaker 2: a VHS.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Oh, there we go.
- 25:29Speaker 2: I know that soundtracked very well.
- 25:31Speaker 1: I chose those opening questions on purpose.
- 25:36Speaker 2: Planting the seeds.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Okay, Well, that's that game, which I guess I'm calling
- 25:42Speaker 1: distracts maybe we'll play it on the main Pandemonium someday
- 25:47Speaker 1: I like it, or maybe we've already played it. Okay,
- 25:52Speaker 1: and with that, let's take a look at the scores,
- 25:54Speaker 1: because this is a game and it matters. Drew you're
- 25:57Speaker 1: on five points or Drew you're on nine points.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Damn, I go you deficit to make up?
- 26:04Speaker 1: All right, And I guess I've not written my usual
- 26:06Speaker 1: little jokes that are themed on the fandoms for the commercials.
- 26:09Speaker 1: There's probably going to be a commercial right now. I
- 26:12Speaker 1: would bet you a million dollars welcome back.
- 26:22Speaker 2: That ad was crazy?
- 26:24Speaker 1: What an ad? Buy those products?
- 26:27Speaker 2: I hope you definitely use the coupon code we provided
- 26:30Speaker 2: in the ad that we all know right now.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Yeah, anyway, here's another game. These transitions are slick, Yes,
- 26:39Speaker 1: this extra emergency episode. Okay, I got another brand new game.
- 26:45Speaker 1: This game I'm calling really PO Come on, and that
- 26:50Speaker 1: will make more sense in a few seconds after I.
- 26:53Speaker 2: Okay, before he explained, arder, are you putting money on that?
- 26:55Speaker 2: It's Po as an Edgar Allen Poe or Poe as
- 26:58Speaker 2: in the Teletubby.
- 27:00Speaker 3: Oh. I was thinking PO from Star Wars.
- 27:04Speaker 2: Oh. And then the technical is also the ghosts in
- 27:06Speaker 2: Legend of Zelda are called pose. That's also a possibility,
- 27:09Speaker 2: although I'm thinking it's a bit of a stretch.
- 27:10Speaker 1: There are so many pop culture.
- 27:13Speaker 2: Pose No, no, that's all four of them were.
- 27:15Speaker 1: Done exhaustive list. One of you is correct in terms
- 27:22Speaker 1: of what I'm referencing in the rules. So here we go.
- 27:25Speaker 1: In this game, I will give our players a popular
- 27:27Speaker 1: IP or media franchise. I will then ask both Audra
- 27:31Speaker 1: and Drew to pitch me a Pokemon evolution style tree
- 27:35Speaker 1: from that property, justifying their answer as to why it works. So,
- 27:41Speaker 1: for example, if I said Star Wars, you could say
- 27:44Speaker 1: Cassian and Or evolves into Hands Solo evolves into Poe
- 27:48Speaker 1: Damarin Ordra was right, and then I would say, really, Poe,
- 27:52Speaker 1: come on, because it sounds like Pokemon, and that's why
- 27:57Speaker 1: this game works.
- 28:00Speaker 2: I'm convinced with the top down design name to game.
- 28:04Speaker 1: What gave it away? So we'll take turns. Who goes first,
- 28:10Speaker 1: But I'd like an answer from each ip from each
- 28:13Speaker 1: of you, but you'll each have a go at getting
- 28:15Speaker 1: the good one. Okay, and the first property Nintendo, so
- 28:21Speaker 1: you like your mainline Nintendo characters, the people who they
- 28:24Speaker 1: would would be considered mascots, not Pokemon.
- 28:28Speaker 2: That's game for you wouldn't count very good. Who's going
- 28:31Speaker 2: first on this one?
- 28:32Speaker 1: I think I'd say fastest thought first on this one,
- 28:35Speaker 1: and then we'll just go back and forth.
- 28:36Speaker 4: I'm going to say starter, Pokemon is my animal crossing character,
- 28:44Speaker 4: and that evolves into another gap probably probably Zelder, probably Selder,
- 28:52Speaker 4: and then I think we're probably gonna end with Yoshi.
- 28:56Speaker 2: Yo.
- 28:57Speaker 3: She's the final evolution in any circum that.
- 29:01Speaker 2: Has very digital energy to me of like little Child
- 29:05Speaker 2: Woman Dinosaur. All you needed was guns.
- 29:10Speaker 3: America we're living in.
- 29:12Speaker 1: So just justification for her Nintendo Evolution tree is America.
- 29:18Speaker 2: Yeah, you can give them guns almost Like I want
- 29:21Speaker 2: to see like a personification version of like the consoles.
- 29:25Speaker 2: I want like the game boyl like floating cute game
- 29:27Speaker 2: Ward with a face on the screen and it becomes
- 29:29Speaker 2: an NES and then becomes the Super Nes and it
- 29:32Speaker 2: gets a little bigger and there's a second controller.
- 29:34Speaker 3: Now, oh yeah, cute.
- 29:37Speaker 1: This is This is the outside the box thinking we
- 29:41Speaker 1: needed on this game. So I'm sorry, are you don't
- 29:43Speaker 1: win that one?
- 29:43Speaker 3: Mine is a little too outside the fix.
- 29:47Speaker 1: No, that's perfect, Drew, that's like because they a lot
- 29:50Speaker 1: of the gaming companies, they like to make the console's
- 29:53Speaker 1: mascots as well. They like to say, hey, these guys
- 29:56Speaker 1: are personified. These are little friends in your home.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I like, honestly my ds like it's the cutest
- 30:03Speaker 2: thing I own. It's just this little little guy.
- 30:06Speaker 1: Yeah, and now is in a is in a Pokemon
- 30:09Speaker 1: evolution tree, go lovely a couple of points there for Drew,
- 30:14Speaker 1: I'm gonna say two points is up for grabs and
- 30:17Speaker 1: maybe I'll throw out maybe I'll go to one if
- 30:19Speaker 1: it's like super super close, experimenting with the points as
- 30:23Speaker 1: we go. Okay, this time I'd like to hear Drew's
- 30:26Speaker 1: answer first for the Lord of the Rings.
- 30:29Speaker 2: Oh, I honestly think this one's a little bit again
- 30:34Speaker 2: like weird. But it's Sam in the Shire, then it's
- 30:40Speaker 2: Sam in the Adventure of the Fellowship, and then it's
- 30:44Speaker 2: Sam carrying Froto at the Oh, that's Sam is everything.
- 30:51Speaker 1: Yeah, Sam is everything.
- 30:52Speaker 3: Sam's pretty much everything.
- 30:55Speaker 2: Also, he would just have more potatoes each time you
- 30:57Speaker 2: have all was like he'd have like just holding one,
- 30:59Speaker 2: then he had one each arm, then you have like
- 31:01Speaker 2: one over one shoulder with Froto over the other.
- 31:04Speaker 1: I'm was like the Charizad of it, and it's just
- 31:07Speaker 1: the constantly printing male versions.
- 31:08Speaker 2: With that, then we get Mega Sam and then we
- 31:13Speaker 2: get Sam.
- 31:13Speaker 1: Why if you call the giant Potato.
- 31:16Speaker 2: Sam Potato Max Sam.
- 31:22Speaker 1: Oh that's great, oldra Can I hate your submission?
- 31:25Speaker 3: Yeah? I want to do one of those, you know how,
- 31:28Speaker 3: like meta gross.
- 31:30Speaker 4: Those are the ones where it's like the plugging in
- 31:32Speaker 4: of the like multiple versions of the same thing.
- 31:34Speaker 3: Yea to make it.
- 31:35Speaker 4: I just want to make a mech suit out of hobbits.
- 31:41Speaker 4: It's gonna be you got Pippin and Marry down there
- 31:46Speaker 4: as the legs obvious, and then the arms it's gonna be.
- 31:54Speaker 4: It's gonna be Froto is like the front the front
- 31:59Speaker 4: jab he's going for it and like Sam's in the back.
- 32:02Speaker 4: But you gotta watch out for that like hook.
- 32:05Speaker 3: That's that's what I think. Yeah, you get help me.
- 32:10Speaker 2: I'm trying to go over the pun of either megasord
- 32:12Speaker 2: Er Vultron with them and I can't do it.
- 32:15Speaker 1: There's got to be some so close hop its name Sackville, Vultron,
- 32:24Speaker 1: sack Vultronaut, sack tr trn Oh, okay, that's I can't
- 32:31Speaker 1: not give that the two points, but I'm still going
- 32:33Speaker 1: to give you one point because I did like the increasing.
- 32:35Speaker 2: Sam incredible respect.
- 32:37Speaker 1: Yes, okay, next, next up, we've got Batman. Oh Batman,
- 32:44Speaker 1: and I guess brought we'll say broadly, DC, we'll bro
- 32:46Speaker 1: will broaden it out as long as you don't throw
- 32:49Speaker 1: in some Marvel names in there, you know, never.
- 32:53Speaker 4: I think mine's pretty gonna be pretty straightforward. I think
- 32:56Speaker 4: it's probably we start with the Harley Quinn from the
- 33:01Speaker 4: Harley Quinn ev Show, voiced by Kaylee Quoco. That's the
- 33:05Speaker 4: starter Pokemon. Yes, and then we're probably gonna have I
- 33:11Speaker 4: didn't think this through. We're probably gonna have the suicide Squad,
- 33:16Speaker 4: like the second version of it that they did.
- 33:21Speaker 3: That's gonna be Harley Quinn. That Harley Quinn.
- 33:24Speaker 1: Okay, all of the suicide Squad.
- 33:27Speaker 4: Yeah, the third one, it's probably gonna be the entire suicides.
- 33:36Speaker 2: It's like Magni magnemite, magneton and then like just like
- 33:38Speaker 2: it's more than plumped on. I love that.
- 33:40Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, like phalanx almost.
- 33:43Speaker 2: Yes, this is where in my mind went. But I
- 33:44Speaker 2: was like, who's done a phalanx? Thank you? Actually, yeah,
- 33:48Speaker 2: I got you. So I'm gonna pull another weird Pokemon
- 33:51Speaker 2: as a reference point. But Gen two's baby Pokemon ty Rogue,
- 33:56Speaker 2: who can evolve into any of the three fighting types
- 33:58Speaker 2: and that hitm on chant hit only hit on top.
- 34:02Speaker 2: I'm gonna say it's a little Robin that can either
- 34:04Speaker 2: become a Batman, a night Wing, or a red Hood.
- 34:08Speaker 1: That's oh, that's that's low accurate.
- 34:11Speaker 3: That's so good.
- 34:13Speaker 2: I was trying to think of, like how do I
- 34:15Speaker 2: work Robin or like a weird mix, and I was like, wait, no,
- 34:18Speaker 2: oh my god.
- 34:18Speaker 4: I have it.
- 34:20Speaker 1: That's the one I want to say. That's the one
- 34:22Speaker 1: I want to see in a Batman Pokemon game.
- 34:25Speaker 2: And you just have to decide, like you know, which
- 34:26Speaker 2: trauma to inflict on to see which way it.
- 34:28Speaker 1: Goes, Like the Stones like it exactly.
- 34:33Speaker 3: Trauma.
- 34:34Speaker 2: Do we do we like murder your parents? Do we
- 34:36Speaker 2: have you been nearly to death by the Joker? Or
- 34:39Speaker 2: do we ostracize you and make you think that you
- 34:42Speaker 2: can't be as good as me. You have to leave
- 34:43Speaker 2: to another city and become your own Batman. Yeah, the
- 34:46Speaker 2: options are plentiful orpen violence, ostracize. Those are the three
- 34:51Speaker 2: types of stone in this world.
- 34:53Speaker 1: Gotta catch them all. Brilliant. Two points to you, Drew
- 34:57Speaker 1: Ouldra No points that if that's fair, only because the
- 35:00Speaker 1: punchline I suggested was the one you ended up going with.
- 35:03Speaker 3: So yeah, I was.
- 35:04Speaker 4: I was gonna go with liv Morgan dressed up as
- 35:08Speaker 4: Carly Quinn.
- 35:10Speaker 3: That's just a.
- 35:10Speaker 1: Deep cut, less deep than Phalanx, I think fair. Okay,
- 35:14Speaker 1: I've got one last one here, and hopefully it's broad
- 35:17Speaker 1: enough that you can use your imaginations, because I think
- 35:20Speaker 1: a lot qualifies as it. But I'm gonna say classic Disney,
- 35:25Speaker 1: so I'm just not I'm not wanting your marvels, your
- 35:27Speaker 1: style wars. I want like your mainline Disney World and
- 35:30Speaker 1: characters and that kind of thing.
- 35:32Speaker 3: Mm hmmm, hmmm.
- 35:33Speaker 2: I'm gonna got a little crazy here, let's hear it.
- 35:36Speaker 2: Steamboat Willie okay, into modern Mickey Okay, into the really
- 35:42Speaker 2: horrifying nightmare esque like frozen mechanical contraption holding Disney's head
- 35:48Speaker 2: that is revealed to me running the puppet strings of
- 35:50Speaker 2: the Mickeys. Oh my god, so like a little a
- 35:55Speaker 2: little crazy horrbe. I'm thinking there's like really like for
- 35:57Speaker 2: some reason, my mind goes to like the mother from
- 35:59Speaker 2: Coraline almost, which is horrifying, but like that level of creepy,
- 36:02Speaker 2: but just like puppets. Hearing that both Mickey's we're now
- 36:05Speaker 2: like clearly just puppets and not looking too good. Which
- 36:08Speaker 2: is that creepy frozen head wearing the ears.
- 36:12Speaker 1: Oh mouse is on sound in so sexy.
- 36:14Speaker 2: Now they drive, Oh this is working for me?
- 36:20Speaker 1: Uh that's horrifying, but brilliant, Ultra. What's your offering?
- 36:25Speaker 4: Mine's probably gonna be starter. Pokemon is the Pixar lamp.
- 36:30Speaker 2: Nice.
- 36:31Speaker 4: My midvolution is the light that they shine on Cinderella's
- 36:36Speaker 4: castle at the Disney Parks, like and like Kicklebell comes
- 36:40Speaker 4: down into the light.
- 36:41Speaker 3: It's that one. And then I think the third evolution
- 36:44Speaker 3: is just the sun.
- 36:47Speaker 1: Wait, which Disney now owns.
- 36:50Speaker 2: I mean, would you be surprised.
- 36:52Speaker 4: If they released paperwork tomorrow that was like surprise, we
- 36:55Speaker 4: bought this one.
- 36:57Speaker 1: We'll be like, yes, that's fair.
- 37:00Speaker 2: I'd be more surprised that it took this long for
- 37:02Speaker 2: it to happen.
- 37:03Speaker 1: Yeah, oh god, yeah no, that's good. I like them
- 37:07Speaker 1: both for different reasons. I'm gonna cop out and give
- 37:10Speaker 1: two points to each of you.
- 37:11Speaker 2: I accept that because I loved Andre Sorry with the
- 37:13Speaker 2: Pixar lamp. I love I love your good luck.
- 37:16Speaker 4: I loved yours as well. I was looking for like
- 37:18Speaker 4: a like. I was like a Mickey Mouse feels like
- 37:21Speaker 4: a good I just couldn't find the third beat.
- 37:25Speaker 2: I see. I knew where I wanted to end, but
- 37:26Speaker 2: I was like, how do I get there? And I'm like, oh, puppeteering, Mickey,
- 37:29Speaker 2: that's horrifying. Yeah, I will say, I feel like, if
- 37:32Speaker 2: I feel like the one we all missed, I need
- 37:34Speaker 2: to make sure we all think about is Pluto to goofy.
- 37:36Speaker 2: I don't know the middle stages, but it's horrifying.
- 37:40Speaker 1: Oh yeah, the middle stage that Okay? If I said,
- 37:45Speaker 1: like that old Disney drawn wolf, would you know what
- 37:48Speaker 1: I mean?
- 37:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I know exactly what.
- 37:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:54Speaker 1: It's like a pro too, both of them, but not
- 37:56Speaker 1: quite either.
- 37:58Speaker 2: He's wait, is this a whole situation?
- 38:01Speaker 1: Oh my god, it.
- 38:03Speaker 4: Feels uncanny in my memory. I don't know if I'm
- 38:05Speaker 4: even remembering the same thing that you guys are remembering,
- 38:08Speaker 4: but I am remembering an uncanny looking wolf.
- 38:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll have to drop what I'm thinking in the
- 38:13Speaker 1: chat after he.
- 38:14Speaker 2: Hardly watched the video about Mold Disney animation. So I
- 38:17Speaker 2: saw this wolf recently too. There we go getting too weird.
- 38:21Speaker 1: Well if it before it gets too weird, let's look
- 38:23Speaker 1: at the scores. There's a segue. Drew caught up a
- 38:26Speaker 1: bit in that round. Drew is on twelve points or
- 38:28Speaker 1: is on thirteen points?
- 38:31Speaker 3: Hell?
- 38:31Speaker 2: Yes, the race should be closer. Why did I go
- 38:35Speaker 2: piratey all this sudden? Yeah, I don't know what happened.
- 38:38Speaker 1: We'll be back after the East commercials Meat Hearties. Okay,
- 38:48Speaker 1: we're back with another experimental game that I definitely named
- 38:51Speaker 1: and then made the rules. Because this game is called
- 38:55Speaker 1: hot Potato topped with Kevin Bacon. Sounds delicious?
- 39:01Speaker 2: Oh I need that.
- 39:04Speaker 1: Look, we're in the game lab. We're cooking up some
- 39:06Speaker 1: games here. So this is a mashup of hot potato
- 39:10Speaker 1: and six degrees of Kevin Bacon with a bit of
- 39:12Speaker 1: gate Looper's fun thrown in. Our players will want to
- 39:16Speaker 1: pass a verbal hot potato back and forth across an
- 39:20Speaker 1: undisclosed amount of time. That verbal hot potato can be
- 39:25Speaker 1: a character, a person, a media release, a location, a thing,
- 39:29Speaker 1: as long as it's related to pop culture or fandom culture.
- 39:32Speaker 1: I don't care. I'll allow it, but it must have
- 39:35Speaker 1: some kind of connection to the previous thing that has
- 39:39Speaker 1: been said. Oh fun, or a degree of separation if
- 39:45Speaker 1: you want to think of it like that. Each player
- 39:47Speaker 1: gets a point for each connection or pass of the potato. Now,
- 39:50Speaker 1: you don't want to be holding the hot potato when
- 39:53Speaker 1: the timer goes off, or you'll lose three points, So
- 39:56Speaker 1: don't spend too much time thinking about it, because otherwise
- 39:59Speaker 1: the timer go off. But you can also win the
- 40:02Speaker 1: game instantly and score five points by saying Kevin Bacon,
- 40:07Speaker 1: providing Kevin Bacon has a reasonable link to the previous thing.
- 40:12Speaker 1: So if you can justify the link, I'll give it
- 40:15Speaker 1: to you.
- 40:15Speaker 3: I don't know anything Kevin Bacon's done except for Footloose,
- 40:18Speaker 3: but he's the only person I know in that movie.
- 40:21Speaker 2: I was gonna say too him, like I have like
- 40:22Speaker 2: three references him in my mind, and none of them
- 40:24Speaker 2: are good.
- 40:25Speaker 1: Oh this is gonna be fine, so I said, as
- 40:28Speaker 1: a little bit of an example, I think you both
- 40:29Speaker 1: understand what's going on here, But as a bit of example.
- 40:32Speaker 3: If we didn't, how would you describe it?
- 40:35Speaker 1: If I made the starting thing Catnus Everdeen, then one
- 40:40Speaker 1: of you said Robin Hood, both fictional archers. Then the
- 40:44Speaker 1: next person said Zootopia, both starred Disney Fox's. Then the
- 40:49Speaker 1: next person said Futurama. Both feature non human law enforcement.
- 40:54Speaker 1: Then the next person said Richard Nixon, who is featured
- 40:56Speaker 1: heavily in Futurama. Then the next person said John F.
- 40:59Speaker 1: Kennedy because they're both presidents. But then that next person
- 41:02Speaker 1: says Kevin Bacon because he starred in JFK, and instantly
- 41:06Speaker 1: wins is how that now we know about JFK And
- 41:10Speaker 1: now you've got that one. So I guess I'm just
- 41:13Speaker 1: gonna choose a random amount of time here.
- 41:16Speaker 2: Okay, it's gonna be sixty nine seconds.
- 41:19Speaker 3: Oh my god.
- 41:21Speaker 1: Nice, And you can obviously take as long as you
- 41:24Speaker 1: want to think of the next connection and say it
- 41:28Speaker 1: with the risk of the tim and may go off.
- 41:31Speaker 3: Okay, I'm gonna like zone in.
- 41:34Speaker 2: Do we want to do like a like a like
- 41:35Speaker 2: a basketball, I'll jump ball. Just first person to get
- 41:38Speaker 2: your connection starts it. Oh. I like that.
- 41:41Speaker 1: That's a great addition to the game.
- 41:42Speaker 2: Yeah. Almost. It almost acts like a buzzing in type feature. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 41:46Speaker 2: it starts the chain. I like that.
- 41:47Speaker 1: I like that, and I'll start the timer when the
- 41:49Speaker 1: first answer is said as well, cool, okay, with that,
- 41:53Speaker 1: I should think of a starting thing to lay you
- 41:56Speaker 1: up with, tip you off with. That's the process.
- 42:00Speaker 5: Basketball knowledge three points not really, let me just think
- 42:09Speaker 5: of something real quick.
- 42:10Speaker 1: Dwayne the Rock, Johnson, John Cena both professional wrestlers ww
- 42:16Speaker 1: wrestling just WW yeah, I'll like that.
- 42:19Speaker 4: Wrestling Batista, he's a wrestler, okay.
- 42:24Speaker 2: Yeah, and he was in Guardians of the Galaxy.
- 42:27Speaker 1: Yes, he was with Chris Pratt from Parks and Recreation.
- 42:33Speaker 1: Very good with Leslie Nope, a character.
- 42:37Speaker 2: Who got her started on SNL.
- 42:40Speaker 1: Very good, Saturday Night Live.
- 42:43Speaker 4: Oh shit, back to me. Tina Fay wrote on that
- 42:48Speaker 4: I think she was on it.
- 42:50Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yes, and then Tina Fay did thirty.
- 42:53Speaker 3: Rock very good with Alec Baldwin, who.
- 42:58Speaker 2: Did an Old West movie. So the Old West.
- 43:02Speaker 1: Let's drill down on this one for a second. You
- 43:04Speaker 1: saying the concept of the Old West, the place the
- 43:06Speaker 1: Old West is the setting of a movie. Yeah, yeah, ill,
- 43:10Speaker 1: and that's it. That's in many movies.
- 43:12Speaker 3: I'll say, Doc Doc Brown, Doctor Emmitt Brown.
- 43:17Speaker 4: Why from because of the third Back to the Future
- 43:20Speaker 4: film is that in the wild.
- 43:21Speaker 1: In the Old West. Okay, I'll give you that.
- 43:23Speaker 2: And Brown Edmon Brown is a scientist, just like Jimmy
- 43:29Speaker 2: Neutron is a scientist.
- 43:30Speaker 1: Yep, I'll allow it. Jimmy is a scientist about scientists.
- 43:34Speaker 3: To Jimmy, Neutron is about Adams.
- 43:37Speaker 4: So Oppenheimer is also about Adams.
- 43:41Speaker 1: Yeah, oh fine that that.
- 43:43Speaker 2: Oppenheimer starred one of my favorite actors, Robert Donny Jr.
- 43:48Speaker 1: I certainly did.
- 43:49Speaker 3: He also was in Ali McBeal.
- 43:53Speaker 2: Robert Bial is a show about lawyers, just like Twelve
- 43:57Speaker 2: Angry Men. It's a movie about lawyers.
- 43:59Speaker 1: Very good.
- 44:01Speaker 3: Twelve Angry Men.
- 44:04Speaker 4: I would say Sons of Anarchy probably also has twelve anger.
- 44:09Speaker 2: Sons of Anarchy is a show about motorcycles and the
- 44:14Speaker 2: biker mice from Mars Road Motorcycles they've dead.
- 44:18Speaker 3: Did Mars is the setting of the film The Martian.
- 44:23Speaker 3: I assume right. That can't not be right?
- 44:26Speaker 2: It is, yes, And the Martian he fames the gross
- 44:28Speaker 2: potatoes just like Sam wizs Sam through potatoes.
- 44:35Speaker 1: Wise by a potato. I'll allow it you.
- 44:38Speaker 4: And Sean Aston was in The gooniesh.
- 44:44Speaker 2: And the Goonies. They see a giant pirate ship like
- 44:47Speaker 2: the Black Pearl from Party.
- 44:50Speaker 4: And the Black Pearl has Orlando Bloom in it, and
- 44:55Speaker 4: he's a guy that is on the Black Pearl.
- 44:59Speaker 2: And I was doing a Blue on onion joke. But
- 45:02Speaker 2: I don't want to connect anything Orlando Blue. Give me
- 45:05Speaker 2: something here. Oh my god, he done. Let's be boring
- 45:12Speaker 2: or date someone interesting. Oh my god, I can't even
- 45:17Speaker 2: ca you.
- 45:19Speaker 4: Girl.
- 45:20Speaker 2: Was he in the music for California?
- 45:23Speaker 3: That's his famous partner that he had.
- 45:25Speaker 2: Oh he dated Katy Perry apparently.
- 45:27Speaker 3: Why did I say that? Katy Perry sang.
- 45:32Speaker 5: P O D.
- 45:34Speaker 4: Wait, she's saying for po D. She was a backup
- 45:37Speaker 4: singer for that. Okay, Christian new metal band.
- 45:41Speaker 1: Thanks for giving Drew some more context. There your your
- 45:44Speaker 1: pop culture a factory that you have to pick a
- 45:46Speaker 1: connection to, mister Christian new metal band.
- 45:49Speaker 2: P O D.
- 45:51Speaker 3: We are we are?
- 45:55Speaker 2: Uh? P O D is three letters, just like something
- 46:02Speaker 2: three syllables like wu tang clan music. Yeah, that'll do.
- 46:06Speaker 1: I'll take it.
- 46:09Speaker 4: Musicians like literally any musicians, and that's.
- 46:13Speaker 1: The potential bomb has gone off.
- 46:14Speaker 3: I just wouldn't think of a musician.
- 46:16Speaker 2: I feel that was guilty.
- 46:22Speaker 3: I gave you po D.
- 46:26Speaker 2: I also need to mention I gave you two incredibly
- 46:29Speaker 2: clear connections to Kevin bacon and panicked.
- 46:32Speaker 1: Yep, I I actually picked up on. I picked up
- 46:35Speaker 1: on three, I thought, but no, I was very confident on.
- 46:38Speaker 4: I was hoping that you would go for like a
- 46:40Speaker 4: blooming onion, and then I would say, served with some
- 46:43Speaker 4: Kevin bacon, and then I was gonna argue my point.
- 46:46Speaker 2: I honestly are I honestly almost said blue an onion.
- 46:50Speaker 2: Think he would be a funny connection, but I was like, no,
- 46:52Speaker 2: that's side, that's too crazy. You will only connect Orlando
- 46:55Speaker 2: bloom to a food item.
- 46:57Speaker 1: If if you'd have argued the control significance of it,
- 47:01Speaker 1: then maybe.
- 47:01Speaker 4: A bloomin onion is a trademark that we all know
- 47:04Speaker 4: they've transcended.
- 47:06Speaker 2: True.
- 47:07Speaker 1: Let's let's now discuss what I'm calling the MBOs, which
- 47:10Speaker 1: are the misst bacon opportunities.
- 47:13Speaker 4: I told you I only know footloose, but I was
- 47:19Speaker 4: locked in. I would never have seen footlooths because I
- 47:21Speaker 4: also don't know anybody else that was in Footlasts.
- 47:24Speaker 2: So I will say the one that I know I
- 47:26Speaker 2: set up and I was going to see if there
- 47:27Speaker 2: was no one. You'd spin it back to me maybe
- 47:29Speaker 2: in a way that would work. Was the Guardians of
- 47:31Speaker 2: the Galaxy because their Christmas special is literally about them kidnapping.
- 47:35Speaker 1: Yeah, god, it was because it was like your third
- 47:38Speaker 1: it was like the third answer in the sequence or
- 47:40Speaker 1: something was Guardians of the gal I went like this, I.
- 47:45Speaker 4: Impletely missed that, and I've that's one of the Guardians
- 47:49Speaker 4: of the Galaxies that I've seen.
- 47:52Speaker 2: It's so good. What were the other ones? Remember? It was?
- 47:56Speaker 1: There was another one that I'm now forgetting that I
- 47:59Speaker 1: will hear back when I edit this. That was that
- 48:01Speaker 1: felt like a lock. That was like, oh, I know
- 48:03Speaker 1: Kevin Bacon is in that. Hello there, this is Matt
- 48:06Speaker 1: in the present or the past as you're listening to this. Hmm. Confusing.
- 48:12Speaker 1: The other answer I was thinking of that Drew mentioned
- 48:15Speaker 1: that could be linked to Kevin Bacon is thirty Rock.
- 48:18Speaker 1: I believe Kevin Bacon is a recurring character playing himself
- 48:23Speaker 1: in thirty Rock. Correct me if I'm wrong. Back to
- 48:26Speaker 1: the show. The one that was a bit of a
- 48:28Speaker 1: punt is the one I remember, which is SNL. I
- 48:31Speaker 1: figure he might have hosted NL.
- 48:33Speaker 2: Oh my god, yeah, just kind of kind of I
- 48:37Speaker 2: thought was like the Robert Ganny Junior there must have been
- 48:40Speaker 2: a way to spin that end too him or something
- 48:42Speaker 2: like again back to p Yeah.
- 48:43Speaker 3: I was thinking Goonies. There was probably someone in Goonies.
- 48:48Speaker 4: The film was Kevin Bacon, and I was like, I'm
- 48:50Speaker 4: saying Goonies, and maybe it'll be I.
- 48:53Speaker 2: Will reveal a deep, dark secret. I've never seen the Goonies.
- 48:57Speaker 2: It's like one of those weird blind spots in my
- 48:59Speaker 2: history of media.
- 49:00Speaker 1: Get a tape, wear it out.
- 49:03Speaker 4: I think it is good because I really liked it.
- 49:06Speaker 4: I watched I didn't watch it in my youth, but
- 49:08Speaker 4: I watched it when I was reclaiming my youth.
- 49:11Speaker 3: Ah.
- 49:12Speaker 4: Yes, And so I was like, I'm reading all the
- 49:14Speaker 4: Harry Potters, I'm going to watch the Goonies like that
- 49:16Speaker 4: type of thing.
- 49:17Speaker 3: And it was thoroughly enjoyable at that time.
- 49:19Speaker 2: We're gonna give it a watch one of these days.
- 49:21Speaker 1: And I can say that Kevin Bacon did host Saturday
- 49:24Speaker 1: Night Live. So if you'd have thrown that one out, Udra.
- 49:27Speaker 3: Missed Bacon opportunities, miss.
- 49:29Speaker 1: Bake an opportunity there, But hey, that's how you play
- 49:33Speaker 1: a hot potato with a side of ke.
- 49:36Speaker 3: What did I call this hot potato?
- 49:38Speaker 1: Tapped with hopped with Kevin Bacon, like how some people
- 49:41Speaker 1: do have potato, so it makes sense.
- 49:44Speaker 2: Yes, that's why I have my potatoes lovely.
- 49:49Speaker 1: Now you'll think of this game every time every time.
- 49:52Speaker 1: I think this has potential as like an emergency game,
- 49:55Speaker 1: like a good parlor game. It could just last for
- 49:57Speaker 1: ages between a group of people.
- 50:00Speaker 2: I think so, And I think on the main show
- 50:02Speaker 2: with four people going in like a round kind of
- 50:04Speaker 2: thing could also be really good.
- 50:05Speaker 3: Yeah, it's hard.
- 50:07Speaker 4: It's one of those games where it's like hard to prepare,
- 50:09Speaker 4: so the other person, like sitting there for a little
- 50:11Speaker 4: bit of time, doesn't have too much of an advantage.
- 50:14Speaker 2: Exactly, you you could because just like whatever the previous
- 50:18Speaker 2: person is that you don't know, it could be po.
- 50:21Speaker 4: D it could be And it was literally I I
- 50:25Speaker 4: gave you Kate, I gave you Katy Perry, and but
- 50:27Speaker 4: didn't have anything for Katy Perry.
- 50:30Speaker 2: It was really funny. It was so fun it was
- 50:34Speaker 2: like he was in the music vide for California. That
- 50:39Speaker 2: movie picture came in like booty shorts with the popsicles.
- 50:44Speaker 1: It'd be the least done.
- 50:46Speaker 3: Yeah, there we go.
- 50:47Speaker 1: Suddenly, Okay, let's get to the final skulls of Fandominium.
- 50:52Speaker 1: Let's let's see what I've got written down here. And
- 50:54Speaker 1: it's very interesting. It all came down to that potato
- 50:59Speaker 1: take because the lead from early in the episode, Uldra
- 51:04Speaker 1: finishes on twenty four points and Drew wins with twenty
- 51:07Speaker 1: six points.
- 51:08Speaker 3: The comeback, gosh, come back of the century.
- 51:13Speaker 2: Look at me go unstoppable. The year is nineteen ninety two.
- 51:18Speaker 2: Oh no, I again, Oh no, damn.
- 51:23Speaker 3: Where it's nineteen ninety three.
- 51:25Speaker 2: One hundred percent? Yeah, everyone started calling your your local
- 51:28Speaker 2: airlines are more than a few years from now.
- 51:33Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I'll leave that one and Drew that one
- 51:36Speaker 1: can stay in because we currently outnumber the Americans on
- 51:38Speaker 1: this record.
- 51:39Speaker 2: Ah, we can make those jokes.
- 51:43Speaker 1: And look it's it's twenty twenty five and the Americans
- 51:45Speaker 1: don't care about anything anymore, Sona exactly. Okay, Well that
- 51:50Speaker 1: was Fandominium. I hope you, uh, you had a good
- 51:52Speaker 1: time listening to this. I hope you both had a
- 51:54Speaker 1: good time playing this.
- 51:55Speaker 2: This was so much fun.
- 51:57Speaker 1: Glad you had a blast. It's very press play. Let's
- 52:01Speaker 1: just do a thing for press Play because no matter
- 52:04Speaker 1: when this comes out, you will be at some point
- 52:06Speaker 1: in the history of video.
- 52:07Speaker 2: Games, Jason and I will be going through the history
- 52:11Speaker 2: of all the video game movies in chronological order. So
- 52:14Speaker 2: we'll likely have just watched a pretty shitty movie and
- 52:16Speaker 2: we sit together, we banter about it. We try to
- 52:19Speaker 2: make sure you understand why it was so bad and
- 52:21Speaker 2: how maybe we can improve it. And then, because we're
- 52:24Speaker 2: part of the gate Leapers network, we like to throw
- 52:26Speaker 2: in a little game at the end, which I found
- 52:28Speaker 2: to be a really fun challenge. Although I have sold
- 52:29Speaker 2: a few of your games in the past and I
- 52:30Speaker 2: might steal some of these.
- 52:32Speaker 1: Oh yeah, please Dave the open sauce. Yeah, Brett, I'm
- 52:39Speaker 1: loving press Play as the person editing the episodes because
- 52:43Speaker 1: I just get a podcast of my friends having a
- 52:45Speaker 1: conversation about a movie that I want to have roasted
- 52:49Speaker 1: so badly.
- 52:51Speaker 2: It's almost like a little bonus the fact that they
- 52:53Speaker 2: generally are not well received movies, so we can shit
- 52:57Speaker 2: on them a little more freely, not worry about we're
- 52:58Speaker 2: going to upset somebody, because I challenge someone to come
- 53:02Speaker 2: forward and tell me Double Dragon was their favorite movie. Yeah,
- 53:05Speaker 2: And then I will just send you right to jail.
- 53:08Speaker 2: That is a criminal offense.
- 53:10Speaker 1: I've decided, yeah, yeah, not fan jail, real jail, real jail.
- 53:14Speaker 2: Which in Canada is just like a Tim Hortons was
- 53:16Speaker 2: a stale or donuts, the normal take us.
- 53:21Speaker 3: We gotta get to Canada.
- 53:24Speaker 1: And OLDROI it's probably universal to just say send your
- 53:27Speaker 1: muses into gateleapers at gmail dot com, because then you'll
- 53:30Speaker 1: read them a funny voice.
- 53:32Speaker 4: I will read them. I will only read them in
- 53:34Speaker 4: a funny voice if directed by you. So if you
- 53:38Speaker 4: want to hear me read your muses in a funny voice,
- 53:40Speaker 4: you know I'm working on my voice acting reel. And
- 53:43Speaker 4: if you guys could give me some inspiration, both in
- 53:46Speaker 4: the sense of a muse like a show and tell
- 53:49Speaker 4: whatever your most exciting little nugget or heartwarming nugget or
- 53:54Speaker 4: funny little nugget. How many times can I say the
- 53:56Speaker 4: word nugget nuggets? Send those into gate leapers at gmail
- 54:04Speaker 4: dot com. You don't have to give me voice directions
- 54:07Speaker 4: in order to send one in, but if you want to,
- 54:10Speaker 4: if you want to make me do.
- 54:11Speaker 3: It, go for it.
- 54:12Speaker 1: It's it's more fun that way.
- 54:13Speaker 2: I send a musing and I included directions.
- 54:16Speaker 3: Mm hmmm, yes, Drew did the extra credit.
- 54:20Speaker 1: And that either will or won't have been out yet,
- 54:23Speaker 1: depending on.
- 54:25Speaker 2: Guys.
- 54:25Speaker 1: I'm caught in a time leap. Let's just end this record.
- 54:28Speaker 2: It's Grownhog's Day. Yay.
