Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: You know what's why?
- 0:02Speaker 2: He tells you why Mark Simone. He's on seven ten WI.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Hey, Jimmy Tayla does a great show here every night
- 0:13Speaker 1: nine to midnight on seven ten WR nine to midnight.
- 0:17Speaker 1: It's interesting, funny, love, and he also does the best
- 0:21Speaker 1: late night show in television Saturday nights at ten on
- 0:25Speaker 1: the Fox News channel. President Trump tweeting out he's a
- 0:28Speaker 1: big fan of that show. It's the best monologue in TV.
- 0:31Speaker 1: And he's with us now, Jimmy Fayla, how you doing good.
- 0:35Speaker 2: I got a lot of pressure this weekend because the
- 0:37Speaker 2: whole cabinet is going to be watching my show on
- 0:40Speaker 2: the way back from China.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Yeah, think of that President watches it. He's gonna make
- 0:46Speaker 1: them all watch it.
- 0:47Speaker 2: And yeah, he always watches it. He never he always listened.
- 0:50Speaker 2: He watches the whole show Saturday and then Sunday he
- 0:53Speaker 2: rewatches the monologue. Yeah, so depending on the time zone
- 0:57Speaker 2: they're in when the reair comes, you know, I I
- 1:00Speaker 2: take shots at everybody on that show. So you know
- 1:03Speaker 2: there's a chance that if I hit Pete Hegseth with
- 1:05Speaker 2: a fastball, my house is getting hit by a drone.
- 1:07Speaker 2: By Sunday morning, but you gotta be careful this week.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Mark, you do what Johnny Carson did the monologue. It's
- 1:14Speaker 1: kind of it's not partisan, and you do both sides.
- 1:17Speaker 1: You make fun of everybody.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Yep. And you know what, you'll appreciate this last week,
- 1:21Speaker 2: I was on the road in Nebraska doing stand up.
- 1:24Speaker 2: I was in Omaha, wonderful town. The problem is everybody
- 1:27Speaker 2: in Omaha here's my accent, and thinks I'm in the
- 1:29Speaker 2: witness protection program, which is challenging. I got more offers
- 1:34Speaker 2: to kill an in law last week. Let's take her.
- 1:36Speaker 2: I can't. I'm out of the business. But I went
- 1:38Speaker 2: to when I was out in Nebraska with a Johnny
- 1:40Speaker 2: Carson's boyhood home in Norfolk, Nebraska, and tried to soak
- 1:44Speaker 2: up a little bit of that vibe because I think
- 1:46Speaker 2: if you've been watching this Colbert victory lap this week,
- 1:49Speaker 2: which is my favorite thing in the world, He's you know,
- 1:52Speaker 2: when a team wins the Super Bowl, they dumped the
- 1:54Speaker 2: gatorade on the on the coach. Colbert is getting fired
- 1:58Speaker 2: and they're jumping the gatorade on for his Super Bowl.
- 2:01Speaker 2: It's so bizarre. But again, everything on that couch, and
- 2:05Speaker 2: I know you saw it and talk about it. It was,
- 2:07Speaker 2: you know, five liberal white guys who are all doing
- 2:09Speaker 2: the exact same show, and that's why Late night is dying.
- 2:13Speaker 2: They called themselves the strike for US five and it's
- 2:15Speaker 2: accurate because every Late Night viewers been on strike ever since.
- 2:19Speaker 2: These guys got a show.
- 2:20Speaker 1: You know. Also, they have no audience. You know, this
- 2:23Speaker 1: Hollywood reporter story came out most powerful influential people in media,
- 2:28Speaker 1: Seth Myers. He's got like twelve viewers. He's on at
- 2:30Speaker 1: one in the morning. I mean even.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Nobody is watching there. I'm not making this up. There
- 2:36Speaker 2: are more people watching a commercial for the Guinnesshu knife
- 2:40Speaker 2: all these years later than there are for Seth Myers.
- 2:43Speaker 2: And yeah, somebody might have taken that knife and cut
- 2:45Speaker 2: his audience in half because he's rating behind the U
- 2:48Speaker 2: log right now. Now, that's shows terrible. And again it's
- 2:52Speaker 2: all activism. It's just he comes on in a flannel
- 2:55Speaker 2: shirt and drums the devil and here's what he did,
- 2:58Speaker 2: and they cheat every angle. The thing about Trump that's
- 3:01Speaker 2: so fascinating is he's such an unconventional politician and if
- 3:05Speaker 2: they would have covered him honestly when he came down
- 3:08Speaker 2: the escalator. He might not have won, but because they
- 3:12Speaker 2: lied and misrepresented he said crazy things, but they tried
- 3:16Speaker 2: to make them crazier in an effort to damage him more,
- 3:19Speaker 2: and that allowed him to go, look, this is fake news.
- 3:22Speaker 2: I didn't say that exact thing, Like you know the
- 3:24Speaker 2: famous quote he goes, Mexico, They're not sending their best,
- 3:26Speaker 2: they're sending drugs, they're sending crime. They're sending rapists and
- 3:29Speaker 2: the rest I assume are good people, which is kind
- 3:31Speaker 2: of a funny Trump throwaway, but the media reported it
- 3:34Speaker 2: as Trump said all Mexicans are drug dealers and rapists,
- 3:37Speaker 2: which wasn't true, and it allowed the average person, because
- 3:40Speaker 2: of the Stephen Colberts of the world, to go, hey,
- 3:42Speaker 2: am I not getting a fair shake from the media
- 3:44Speaker 2: on this election. And that's what kind of built the
- 3:47Speaker 2: resistance movement that allowed Trump to overcome so many institutions.
- 3:51Speaker 2: It's guys like Colbert that are misrepresenting his words and
- 3:55Speaker 2: his deeds.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Very interesting. You know, if you checked the record when
- 3:59Speaker 1: he made that speech, nobody said a word. Everything was fine.
- 4:01Speaker 1: It was two weeks later when the first poll came
- 4:04Speaker 1: out showing him in the lead. That's when they went
- 4:06Speaker 1: back and they dug up that Mexican comment and started
- 4:09Speaker 1: using him against him.
- 4:10Speaker 2: So it's like, it's like, Spencer Pratt, why they yelling?
- 4:14Speaker 2: You know, if you've seen this whole story with CMZ
- 4:15Speaker 2: and Spencer Pratt, did you catch that by any chance?
- 4:17Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Spencer Pratt is of course a reality star running from
- 4:21Speaker 2: mayor in La. He's got these you know commercials talking
- 4:25Speaker 2: about all you know, his where he lives now because
- 4:27Speaker 2: his house burnt down, and he shows a picture of
- 4:29Speaker 2: his Bulfstream trailer on his vacant property loss. It goes,
- 4:34Speaker 2: this is where I live, and TMZ jumps in to go, well,
- 4:37Speaker 2: you know, he also lives in a hotel. I'm like,
- 4:39Speaker 2: the point is his house burnt down and he's running
- 4:42Speaker 2: for election against the people who let it happen. The
- 4:45Speaker 2: fire hydrants were empty, you know what was full? The
- 4:48Speaker 2: swim up bar where Karen Vans was vacationing in Ghana,
- 4:52Speaker 2: that was full. Yeah, good luck getting a drink in
- 4:54Speaker 2: a hurry in that place. But the city was on
- 4:57Speaker 2: fire a double So it's like when you look at
- 5:00Speaker 2: it through that lens, that's why Democrats are losing so
- 5:03Speaker 2: many people, is because they're taking their fighting the wrong battle.
- 5:07Speaker 2: It's like the average person in Los Angeles. If seven
- 5:09Speaker 2: thousand homes got burnt down are a matter about the
- 5:12Speaker 2: homes being burnt down, then where Spencer Pratt is being
- 5:15Speaker 2: forced to hold up temporarily?
- 5:18Speaker 1: Hey, Jimmy Faylow, let's get back to these late night guys. Now.
- 5:20Speaker 1: If I didn't know who you were and I just
- 5:22Speaker 1: put on your show, you look like a comedian. You
- 5:25Speaker 1: look like a fun guy. If I put on them,
- 5:28Speaker 1: I didn't know who that. They look angry, they look nasty.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Clbert looks like a nasty Kimmel looks like he wants
- 5:34Speaker 1: to choke you, and they all look so nasty. Seth
- 5:38Speaker 1: Meyers looks like a bitter and nasty, twisted guy. How
- 5:42Speaker 1: did these people? How do you be a comedian and
- 5:44Speaker 1: be that angry?
- 5:46Speaker 2: Well, I mean that's the biggest challenge they have is
- 5:49Speaker 2: they're selling us the opposite of motion because they are
- 5:52Speaker 2: selling as anger. They are selling as judgment and comedy.
- 5:56Speaker 2: You know, by definition is ridiculous. Like you're not supposed
- 6:00Speaker 2: to be there as an alpha. You're supposed to be
- 6:02Speaker 2: there like Rodney Gagerfield. You get no respect. You're a
- 6:05Speaker 2: hot mess, and you're there to make everybody feel better
- 6:08Speaker 2: about their own shortcomings. That's the biggest problem with them
- 6:12Speaker 2: trying to say they're good at things and they know what.
- 6:14Speaker 2: None of us in comedy know what we're doing. Mark,
- 6:17Speaker 2: this is a real sor. When my identity got stolen
- 6:19Speaker 2: two years ago, my credit score went up thirty eight points. Okay,
- 6:25Speaker 2: I clearly don't have life figured out, but the Albanians
- 6:28Speaker 2: who hacked my email did, and I want to thank
- 6:31Speaker 2: them because now I can get a mortgage of the
- 6:33Speaker 2: fine work they did.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Let's get back that Johnny Carson. You know, I'm the
- 6:38Speaker 1: biggest Johnny Carson fan, historian, scholar. I've studied everything, but
- 6:43Speaker 1: I don't know why I have no interest in this
- 6:44Speaker 1: boyhood home.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Well, yeah, yeah, you.
- 6:50Speaker 1: Went there, you went there. I mean, what do you
- 6:52Speaker 1: get out of it? It's just.
- 6:55Speaker 2: This is what I like, Okay, and this is something
- 6:57Speaker 2: I'm heavily invested in. It's because I'm on the road
- 7:00Speaker 2: doing comedy. So when I land and I don't have
- 7:02Speaker 2: a show till APM, I will usually google something of
- 7:06Speaker 2: local interest and just go see it. So it wasn't
- 7:08Speaker 2: like I took a separate trip to go, but the
- 7:10Speaker 2: fact that I was one hundred miles away was like, yeah,
- 7:12Speaker 2: get in the car, we're going. And the reason I
- 7:15Speaker 2: get something out of it is because it's really a
- 7:18Speaker 2: reminder and this is true of like the spectacular possibilities
- 7:22Speaker 2: of life. I'm one of those people. It's like when
- 7:25Speaker 2: you go to Corning, Iowa, which is where he was born.
- 7:28Speaker 2: I was there two weeks ago because I was in
- 7:30Speaker 2: Des Moines. So I went to Corning. I saw the
- 7:32Speaker 2: house he was born and he lived until he was three.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Then this week I was in Nebraska, and so the
- 7:35Speaker 2: house he moved into in Nebraska. And when you go
- 7:38Speaker 2: to those places and you look at them and you
- 7:40Speaker 2: don't see the Tonight Show anywhere in the neighborhood, you
- 7:44Speaker 2: don't see how it would be possible to go from
- 7:46Speaker 2: that house to the Tonight Show sitting next to Jackie
- 7:49Speaker 2: Gleason or Frank Sinatra in that desk. But you realize
- 7:52Speaker 2: the thing that's bridging the gap is the country we
- 7:55Speaker 2: live in. Okay. That stuff makes me like a super patriot.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Like when I was in Commerce, Oklahoma, I went to
- 8:00Speaker 2: Mickey Mannon's boyhood home where his dad would get drunk
- 8:02Speaker 2: and throw baseballs at him till he learned how to
- 8:04Speaker 2: hit him. And it's an incredible story because you realize
- 8:08Speaker 2: the thing started there. Like whatever we know Mickey mannle
- 8:12Speaker 2: to be, he's on a postage stamps. The most famous
- 8:14Speaker 2: human being driver lived, he started next to that barn.
- 8:16Speaker 2: You know, whatever you know. Johnny Carson to be, he
- 8:18Speaker 2: started on that little porch in Corning, Iowa. And when
- 8:21Speaker 2: you see the possibilities for a guy like me, I mean,
- 8:24Speaker 2: I mean it, you know who is really driving a cab,
- 8:27Speaker 2: it really reminds you that you could get anywhere. And
- 8:30Speaker 2: you know, I've obviously made it a lot further than
- 8:32Speaker 2: where I started as a cab driver, but the going
- 8:35Speaker 2: to those places for me reminds me I could probably
- 8:37Speaker 2: go further than I have already. I don't know how.
- 8:39Speaker 2: I don't know where, because most jobs that are bigger
- 8:41Speaker 2: than this one require a drug test, which is going
- 8:43Speaker 2: to be a problem for me. But we'll see.
- 8:47Speaker 1: That's a pretty interesting answer. I never thought of it, though,
- 8:49Speaker 1: I see. I always like to walk by the un
- 8:51Speaker 1: Applaza apartment building First Avenue. That's where Johnny Carson lived
- 8:54Speaker 1: when he did The Tonight Show in New York. But
- 8:57Speaker 1: now you're right. That tells you really what you can
- 9:00Speaker 1: do in this country. So Jimmy Fail is on wor
- 9:05Speaker 1: every night nine to midnight. It's a wonderful show, very funny.
- 9:08Speaker 1: And what do you have tonight?
- 9:10Speaker 2: Ooh, you better get ready for this. Jenny Fail is
- 9:13Speaker 2: coming on. We're gonna try to sober up my wife
- 9:16Speaker 2: to do a radio she's got to talk about She's
- 9:19Speaker 2: on the show this weekend. Jenny's on the TV show
- 9:21Speaker 2: with Neil de graft Tyson. So I usually have a
- 9:24Speaker 2: little sparring session with her before I put her on TV.
- 9:26Speaker 2: So fifteen minutes of me insulting my wife, eight hours
- 9:30Speaker 2: of me sleeping on a couch, You've got a great
- 9:32Speaker 2: TV show on Saturday.
- 9:33Speaker 1: She has become the new Joy Philbin.
- 9:36Speaker 2: I like that great, as long as I don't get
- 9:41Speaker 2: Joy Bahar. Yeah, that's fine.
- 9:44Speaker 1: And the TV show, it's the best late night show
- 9:47Speaker 1: there is. It's the number one best monologue in television.
- 9:51Speaker 1: It's Saturday nights at ten on the Fox News channel
- 9:54Speaker 1: and you can be in the audience. It's free if
- 9:55Speaker 1: you want to. It's a great date night thing. If
- 9:58Speaker 1: somebody wants to bring somebody or come and sit in
- 10:00Speaker 1: the audience. Where do they get the tickets?
- 10:03Speaker 2: So free tickets at foxacross America dot com. And it
- 10:07Speaker 2: is everyone is taking our advice on this being a
- 10:10Speaker 2: cheap date because I've I've met so many young couples
- 10:12Speaker 2: at your at my show that are listening to your
- 10:14Speaker 2: show and they always tell me, yeah, I heard John
- 10:17Speaker 2: Simone and all of that jazz. So if we were
- 10:19Speaker 2: charging for these tickets, I owe you a kickback, but I.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Owe you nothing. But it's a great way you can.
- 10:25Speaker 1: You can go see the Jimmy. You do it Friday nights,
- 10:27Speaker 1: right like six o'clock or so. So it's very convenient
- 10:30Speaker 1: Friday nights at six. And when you take your date
- 10:33Speaker 1: or whoever, don't tell them it was free. Act like
- 10:35Speaker 1: you went out of your way to get these tickets,
- 10:36Speaker 1: these special tickets.
- 10:38Speaker 2: And uh yeah, And it looks it looks expensive, Like
- 10:40Speaker 2: you're gonna walk into a TV studio and it makes
- 10:43Speaker 2: my show look a lot more credible than it is.
- 10:45Speaker 2: You're gonna be like, wow, now, yeah, I cannot if
- 10:48Speaker 2: you're going out on the date, you're trying to knock
- 10:50Speaker 2: somebody's socks off. Take them to a TV taping especially
- 10:52Speaker 2: mine because I talked to them during commercial breaks. And
- 10:55Speaker 2: it's a friendly show. It's not a hostile own the
- 10:58Speaker 2: Libs show. That's gonna upset your liberal that you're dating.
- 11:00Speaker 2: She's gonna get a cake out of it.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Yeah, So you meet Jimmy Fayleer, you'll meet the guest.
- 11:04Speaker 1: It's a great thing. What do you Go to Fox

- 11:59Speaker 1: exactly what happened. And don't forget Curtis is here. Curtis
