- 0:16To love letters. Welcome to Love Letters from
- 1:06God. Today we're going to talk about
- 1:10change and how we want to do what we can to be better people
- 1:19than maybe we were yesterday. What can we do to be a better
- 1:27person and how can we use these love letters from God to help us
- 1:36know how to do that? I'm going to start off here with
- 1:42a little poem that I found. There's something inside of me
- 1:53that I don't see. Others say that they are proud,
- 2:00Proud of me. I haven't done anything heroic,
- 2:08I reply, mouth ajar. I haven't cured any ills or I
- 2:15haven't discovered any * It's your battle through journey
- 2:24making us proud. Silver lining on board
- 2:30destination all cloud. We worried and we fretted with
- 2:37your anxiety and woes. Now you're climbing as a bird in
- 2:46the Vulture of crows. You wore lifeless eyes, tracked
- 2:54tears on cheeks. Now it's our proud hearts that
- 3:02quietly weep. No, you haven't discovered A
- 3:06star. You haven't cured the ill,
- 3:11though you reach to inspire with mercy.
- 3:15And will I need to believe, believe more in me, look down
- 3:25the lens for what others may see?
- 3:28I'm not fond of looking how well I have done, but I'm beginning
- 3:35to see how far I have come. Let's take a look at ourself.
- 3:45You know, what have you done? What do you do during the course
- 3:49of the day? How does your day go?
- 3:52And what kind of influence, Girl of Red, if you had on others is
- 3:59how does your day look today? What are you going to be doing
- 4:03today in this competitive world that you and I live in?
- 4:08The IT demands that we should work hard and have appointments
- 4:16and attend meetings and so on. And sometimes we find a little
- 4:22time for the people and the things that we really love.
- 4:28Sometimes we're not only victims of our own competitive world,
- 4:32but we play along and we make life difficult for for
- 4:38ourselves. We want more and more.
- 4:44We want to climb the ladder of success and to be independent
- 4:47from everything and everyone. And that makes us very busy,
- 4:54busy people. Just stop for a minute and ask
- 5:00where you had, where's your life going and where does God fit in
- 5:09to that daily life? How has his love letter been
- 5:13involved in your life? Now I'm not talking about a kind
- 5:17of a life that you need to say how many hours that you pray or
- 5:22do you Bible study. The issue is rather this are our
- 5:30lifestyles is your lifestyle and the way you work and plan places
- 5:38where you allow the Spirit of God to fill and change you make
- 5:47you a better people. After all.
- 5:51Remember the Spirit is a creator of something beautiful in every
- 5:59one of us. In Paul, in rather God's Love
- 6:06letter, one of the writers, the apostle Paul said one time the
- 6:12Spirit of God is creating the image of Christ in US.
- 6:21His primary purpose in our lives is not to make us successful in
- 6:26a monetary way, but that Jesus Christ can be shown through our
- 6:35lives to other people. And that's why I want to read
- 6:40these particular Psalms today. We're going to read Psalms 4647
- 6:51and 48 Psalm 46. God is our refuge in strength, a
- 7:01very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even
- 7:08though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried
- 7:13into the midst of the sea, though its waters roar and be
- 7:18troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling, there
- 7:24is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God, the
- 7:31holy place of the Tabernacle of the Most High.
- 7:36God is in the midst of her. She shall not be moved.
- 7:42God shall help her. Just at the break of dawn, the
- 7:48nation's rage. The kingdoms were moved.
- 7:52He entered his voice and the earth melted.
- 7:57The Lord of hosts is with us. The God of Jacob is our refuge.
- 8:03Come, behold the works of the Lord who has made desolations in
- 8:08the earth. He makes wars cease to the end
- 8:12of the earth. He breaks the bow and cuts the
- 8:17spear in two. He burns the chariot in the
- 8:21fire. Be still, just be still for a
- 8:27moment and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the
- 8:34nations. I will be exalted in the earth.
- 8:40The Lord of hosts is with us, that the God of Jacob is our
- 8:43refuge. So is Psalm 46.
- 8:48Let's continue into 47. Oh, clap your hands.
- 8:54Oh, you peoples, shout to God with a voice of triumph.
- 9:00For the Lord Most High is awesome.
- 9:05He is a great king over all the earth.
- 9:09He will subdue the peoples under us and the nations under our
- 9:14feet. He will choose our inheritance
- 9:17for us the excellence of Jacob, whom he loves.
- 9:23God has gone up with a shout, the Lord with the sound of a
- 9:28trumpet. Sing praises to God, sing
- 9:32praises, sing praises to our king.
- 9:37Sing praises, for God is the King of all the earth.
- 9:43Sing praises with understanding. God reigns over the nations.
- 9:50God sits on his holy throne. The Princess of the people have
- 9:55gathered together the people of the God of Abraham, For the
- 10:00Shields of the earth belong to God.
- 10:04He is greatly exalted. So is Psalm 47.
- 10:10Let's read Psalm 48. Great is the Lord, and greatly
- 10:17to be praised in the city of our God, in his holy mountain,
- 10:24beautiful in elevation. The joy of the whole earth is
- 10:30Mount Zion in the sides of the north, the city of the great
- 10:35King. God is in her palaces.
- 10:38He is known as her refuge. For behold the kings assembled.
- 10:45They passed by together. They saw it, and so they
- 10:50marveled. They were troubled, they
- 10:54hastened away. Fear took hold of them there in
- 10:57pain as of a woman in birth bangs.
- 11:01And when you break the ships of Tarsus with an east wind, as we
- 11:07have heard, so we have seen in the city of the Lord of Hosts,
- 11:13in the city of our God, God will establish it forever.
- 11:21We have thought, O God, on your loving kindness in the midst of
- 11:25your temple, according to your name, O God, so is your praise
- 11:30to the ends of the earth. Your right hand is full of
- 11:34righteousness. Let Mount Zion rejoice, let the
- 11:39daughters of Judah be glad because of your judgments.
- 11:43Walk about Zion and go all around her.
- 11:47Count her towers, mark well her bulwarks, consider her palaces,
- 11:53that you may tell it to the generation following.
- 11:58For this is God, our God, forever and ever.
- 12:04He will be our guide even to death.
- 12:10Such is Psalm 48. We serve an awesome God.
- 12:19He wants ye to be the best person He knows you can be.
- 12:27And in His love letter, He'll help to show you how shall we
- 12:32pray? Our Father in Heaven, indeed,
- 12:38you are awesome. Thank you so much for all the
- 12:45blessings of life that you have given us.
- 12:49Help us to understand that you are there and that You're
- 12:54willing to make us into what you know we can be.
- 12:59We are thankful for your son. He came over and died.
- 13:05Through fire, we might be red. Storms, we throw this in his
- 13:11name. Amen.
- 13:14That's it for today, he wrote. I now.
- 13:20Recall. His voice was there.
