- 0:00Speaker 1: College Football, 877-99 on Fox. That's 877-99 on Fox. We
- 0:06Speaker 1: are loaded over the next couple of days. Today, Steve
- 0:10Speaker 1: Spagnuolo is going to join the show. We'll have the
- 0:13Speaker 1: weekend observations coming up in about 20 minutes. Tomorrow, Bijan
- 0:17Speaker 1: Robinson on the show. Justin Jefferson is also on the show.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Mikey A., football has begun. How about that? What'd you
- 0:29Speaker 2: guys make here?
- 0:29Speaker 1: I'll get to the AP in a second because Michigan
- 0:32Speaker 1: is no longer in the AP top 25.
- 0:35Speaker 2: And quite frankly, they don't deserve to be.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Not only for that performance, but for how they acted
- 0:41Speaker 1: after winning a game they should have lost. But let's
- 0:44Speaker 1: start with Lane Kiffin here because Lane Kiffin, there's this
- 0:48Speaker 1: whole debate going on about Lane Kiffin, whether he's good
- 0:52Speaker 1: for college football, whether he's not good for college football.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Let me be very clear.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Lane Kiffin is college football's biggest star, and I'm not
- 1:02Speaker 1: certain it's even close. Like, go ahead and give me
- 1:05Speaker 1: a second place person when I say who is the
- 1:08Speaker 1: biggest star right now in college football, because for me,
- 1:12Speaker 1: it is Lane Kiffin.
- 1:13Speaker 2: You can like him. You could dislike him. You could
- 1:16Speaker 2: root for his team. You could root against his team.
- 1:19Speaker 1: But the fact that a guy in Baton Rouge, Louisiana,
- 1:23Speaker 1: is evoking some sort of emotion from just about everybody
- 1:26Speaker 1: means that Lane Kiffin is not good.
- 1:29Speaker 2: He is great for college football.
- 1:31Speaker 3: Number two on that list would probably be Kirk's Gnetti
- 1:34Speaker 3: at Indiana. Just, it's good just because of his, his
- 1:37Speaker 3: emergence into the national conversation. But Stu, I think the
- 1:41Speaker 3: gap between one and two has never been further in
- 1:44Speaker 3: college football, where we had somebody like Nick Saban, where
- 1:48Speaker 3: Alabama fans loved him, the rest of the college football
- 1:51Speaker 3: fans hated him. You need somebody that you, that evokes
- 1:55Speaker 3: that kind of emotion. And right now Lane Kiffin is
- 1:59Speaker 3: doing that where LSU fans are like, Oh, We're riding
- 2:02Speaker 3: and dying with him. He is our head football coach.
- 2:04Speaker 3: And then you have the rest of the nation who's
- 2:06Speaker 3: giving Lane Kiffin the middle finger. And Lane Kiffin has
- 2:09Speaker 3: kind of given everybody the middle finger right back to him.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Yes, and winning games. And listen, it's one game. I
- 2:14Speaker 1: understand that. It's against Clemson. It's against Dabo. I thought
- 2:17Speaker 1: the bigger story from that game was just how bad
- 2:20Speaker 1: Clemson looked, just how bad Dabo is, and whether or
- 2:23Speaker 1: not Dabo is going to make it this season as
- 2:25Speaker 1: the Clemson head coach.
- 2:26Speaker 2: But, Mikey, it's been a long time since we've been
- 2:29Speaker 2: able to say that.
- 2:30Speaker 1: There is a clear star in college football, and there
- 2:34Speaker 1: is a star, there are other stars, but they're a
- 2:36Speaker 1: distant second, third, fourth, and fifth as it compares to
- 2:40Speaker 1: Lane Kiffin. Lane Kiffin, by leaving Ole Miss, going to LSU,
- 2:45Speaker 1: bypassing an opportunity to coach a playoff team because he
- 2:49Speaker 1: thinks he can win a national championship multiple at LSU,
- 2:53Speaker 1: has made himself, by design, the biggest star in this sport.
- 2:57Speaker 2: And I love it.
- 2:58Speaker 4: Love him or hate him.
- 2:59Speaker 5: He's much what must watch television and all of the
- 3:03Speaker 5: other people that you would consider to be a star
- 3:06Speaker 5: like Kurt Cignetti, Marcus Freeman, Ryan day.
- 3:09Speaker 4: They're all there because they coach good programs and they're like,
- 3:13Speaker 4: they winning football games. They're not stars. They're just happen
- 3:17Speaker 4: to be really good coaches or have really good teams.
- 3:20Speaker 4: Lane Kiffin.
- 3:21Speaker 5: I want to see what he says at halftime. I
- 3:23Speaker 5: want to see what he says after the game. I
- 3:25Speaker 5: want to see what his facial expression looks like during
- 3:28Speaker 5: every play. That's what Lane Kiffin brings to college football.
- 3:33Speaker 3: Mikey, I was in Death Valley and I wish I
- 3:36Speaker 3: had the opportunity to hear Lane Kiffin, but also that
- 3:39Speaker 3: game was such a blowout in the second half. I
- 3:40Speaker 3: had my phone out and I was watching the, the
- 3:43Speaker 3: Michigan Western Michigan debacle. Luckily, I almost put my phone
- 3:47Speaker 3: away after the first attempt at Hail Mary because I
- 3:51Speaker 3: Like every other game I've ever watched, when a clock
- 3:52Speaker 3: hits zero, normally the game ends there.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Right.
- 3:55Speaker 3: Stu, what I'm about to say, just know I take
- 3:58Speaker 3: no pleasure in, because I like Michigan. In the Ohio
- 4:00Speaker 3: State-Michigan rivalry, I'm siding with the blue 10 out of
- 4:03Speaker 3: 10 times.
- 4:03Speaker 2: I just want to be clear.
- 4:04Speaker 1: You're going to say something, okay, but you take no
- 4:07Speaker 1: pleasure in saying that thing.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Okay. I like this.
- 4:10Speaker 4: Why are you smiling?
- 4:12Speaker 1: Because he's taking pleasure.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Michigan's head coach, Kyle Whittingham.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Yes.
- 4:19Speaker 3: If he had... Any character or any integrity, he calls
- 4:24Speaker 3: the NCAA up right now and says, that's a loss.
- 4:27Speaker 3: Please adjust the record to reflect that. I can't have
- 4:30Speaker 3: my first win at Michigan be this. And what the
- 4:35Speaker 3: Big Ten officiating crew did was take an all-time moment
- 4:37Speaker 3: away from the Western Michigan players. It's embarrassing. It's disgraceful.
- 4:42Speaker 3: And it's on Michigan to make this right. Because this is...
- 4:46Speaker 3: You know that ridiculous commercial that everybody laughs at, the
- 4:49Speaker 3: sportsmanship commercial, the hand up, the ball was out on me, coach?
- 4:52Speaker 2: Yes.
- 4:53Speaker 3: That's what Kyle Whittingham has to do here.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Yeah, but no one does that. I mean, seriously, no
- 4:57Speaker 2: one does that.
- 4:58Speaker 1: There's not a single kid who, when the ball is
- 5:00Speaker 1: off him or her, admits to the referee, hey, it
- 5:05Speaker 1: was off me.
- 5:06Speaker 2: It doesn't happen.
- 5:07Speaker 1: You're asking Kyle Whittingham to call somebody, and I have
- 5:11Speaker 1: no idea who that somebody is, and say to that somebody, hey,
- 5:15Speaker 1: take the win away.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Take my first win at Michigan. Take it away.
- 5:19Speaker 1: We're 0-1. Western Michigan, they're 1-0. Do you know how
- 5:23Speaker 1: quickly he'll get run out of Michigan if indeed Kyle
- 5:26Speaker 1: Whittingham did that?
- 5:27Speaker 3: You don't start the conversation by saying, take the win away.
- 5:30Speaker 3: You start the conversation by saying, I'm a man of integrity.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Ah, I see.
- 5:38Speaker 5: By the way, it's funny you mentioned that, the whole
- 5:40Speaker 5: commercial thing. I was at my kid's baseball game. And
- 5:45Speaker 5: somebody on our team hit a ball that went just foul.
- 5:49Speaker 5: And the kid went, I've called it fair. And the
- 5:52Speaker 5: kid went, no, no, it's foul. And his dad went, Hey,
- 5:55Speaker 5: shut up.
- 5:58Speaker 3: And the whole thing with the big 10 officiating crew,
- 6:02Speaker 3: I'm insulted with the big 10 officiating crew because I
- 6:05Speaker 3: want them to look me in the eyes and say,
- 6:07Speaker 3: Do you think I'm an idiot? Because when have we
- 6:10Speaker 3: ever heard that there's multiple clocks, they're not always synced
- 6:14Speaker 3: up with each other? Yesterday, we saw a Florida State
- 6:17Speaker 3: game against SMU where they had no power, and somehow
- 6:21Speaker 3: all those clocks seemed like they were pretty synced up.
- 6:24Speaker 3: But all of a sudden, once one break doesn't go
- 6:26Speaker 3: Michigan's way, the Big Ten office in Chicago... beeps down
- 6:31Speaker 3: like a Buffalo Wild Wings commercial saying, hey, let's put
- 6:35Speaker 3: one more second back on the clock. We need Michigan
- 6:37Speaker 3: to get this Hail Mary off.
- 6:38Speaker 1: I got to tell you, if a kid on my
- 6:39Speaker 1: team and I coach for several years, if they admit
- 6:42Speaker 1: that the ball was out on them, I cut them.
- 6:45Speaker 2: I mean, immediately. Yes.
- 6:48Speaker 1: I once told a kid of mine during a girls
- 6:51Speaker 1: lacrosse game to untie her shoes so she had the
- 6:54Speaker 1: time again to kill, you know, another 90 seconds off
- 6:58Speaker 1: the clock because the clock never stops running. When you
- 7:00Speaker 1: score a goal, you have to go back to the
- 7:02Speaker 1: face-off circle, right? And so if you're winning, you'll take
- 7:05Speaker 1: your time getting back to the face-off circle and The
- 7:07Speaker 1: referees will try to speed you up. And I told
- 7:09Speaker 1: my kids, hey, if we're up one late in the game,
- 7:12Speaker 1: we score a goal, and we have to go back
- 7:13Speaker 1: to the face-off circle, you untie your shoes and tie
- 7:16Speaker 1: them again.
- 7:16Speaker 2: How about that?
- 7:17Speaker 3: Remember that time Jason Kidd was coaching on the sideline,
- 7:19Speaker 3: and he just took a water and spilt it on
- 7:21Speaker 3: the sideline to try to buy himself an extra timeout?
- 7:24Speaker 2: And the ref.
- 7:25Speaker 3: Looked at him and was like, I was born at night,
- 7:27Speaker 3: but it wasn't last night.
- 7:31Speaker 5: So, Taylor, I'm curious if you think they should have
- 7:34Speaker 5: done that against Ohio State.
- 7:41Speaker 3: I think you just have to have some pride if
- 7:43Speaker 3: you're Michigan. While Ohio State's celebrating Senior Day.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Yes.
- 7:48Speaker 1: So I just want to be clear. Kyle Whittingham picks
- 7:50Speaker 1: up the phone. He has thought about it all weekend.
- 7:53Speaker 1: He doesn't feel good about this win. And I will
- 7:56Speaker 1: tell you that Western Michigan, they're getting more run off
- 7:58Speaker 1: losing this game than they would ever get off winning
- 8:00Speaker 1: the game. But you want Kyle Whittingham to just call
- 8:02Speaker 1: up somebody and say, I'm a man of integrity.
- 8:06Speaker 5: Exactly.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Okay.

- 8:32Speaker 1: Joel Anderson and Steve Spagnuolo are going to join us
- 8:35Speaker 1: in hour number two. We are loaded today as we
- 8:38Speaker 1: get into football. Mikey A is starting a bowling league.
- 8:41Speaker 1: But Taylor, before we get to that, Mikey A's bowling league.
- 8:45Speaker 1: I have so many questions. Why is the first question?
- 8:48Speaker 1: Just so Mikey A is prepared. Taylor has his worst team.
- 8:52Speaker 1: I think in the history of college football. Is that correct?
- 8:55Speaker 3: The worst team in the history of college football.
- 8:57Speaker 5: Wow.
- 8:58Speaker 3: It's the Northwestern State Demons out of Louisiana. They're an
- 9:02Speaker 3: FCS program.
- 9:03Speaker 6: Right.
- 9:04Speaker 3: Their logo is a demon, but on their helmet, they've
- 9:07Speaker 3: just stolen Northwestern University's N. It's the same color scheme,
- 9:11Speaker 3: and they just put a fork through the purple N.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Okay. Well, let me say this on behalf of Northwestern.
- 9:17Speaker 1: They're happy to hear that it's not them as the
- 9:20Speaker 1: worst college football program.
- 9:21Speaker 2: In the history of college football. So this team is
- 9:24Speaker 2: the worst, huh?
- 9:25Speaker 3: So in week zero, they play Louisiana college wildcats in
- 9:30Speaker 3: a IA team and wildcats.
- 9:33Speaker 4: Yes.
- 9:33Speaker 3: They lose 42 to 37, which normally historically does not happen.
- 9:38Speaker 3: If you're an FCS team playing an N a IA team, right?
- 9:43Speaker 3: So week one, they're going on the road to La Tech,
- 9:46Speaker 3: Louisiana Tech. In Louisiana Tech, the Bulldogs are a 44.5-point favorite.
- 9:52Speaker 6: Yep.
- 9:52Speaker 3: Can Northwestern State bounce back? Can they cover the 44-point spread?
- 9:58Speaker 3: They lose 80-6. Yeah. They are now it's a long season.
- 10:05Speaker 3: We're only through week one right now. They've played two games.
- 10:08Speaker 3: They're But I'm keeping an eye on them, Stu, because
- 10:16Speaker 3: they might be the worst team in college football history.
- 10:18Speaker 1: If La Tech was favored, if they were minus 73,
- 10:21Speaker 1: they would have covered the spread?
- 10:23Speaker 2: Yes.
- 10:26Speaker 3: And the worst part about this is they are down
- 10:30Speaker 3: 77 to 3 in the fourth quarter.
- 10:33Speaker 2: Right.
- 10:34Speaker 3: They kicked a field goal.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Well, you have to.
- 10:36Speaker 3: I mean, 77 to six is, is, is 77 to
- 10:39Speaker 3: six that much different than 77 to three?
- 10:42Speaker 2: It feels different. It sounds different. Yes. I mean, and
- 10:45Speaker 2: it is different. Of course it's three points closer.
- 10:47Speaker 4: You want to get back?
- 10:48Speaker 3: You want to get back on? Well, if you lose
- 10:50Speaker 3: a game 80 to six, you would assume nobody on
- 10:53Speaker 3: your team really feels good about that outcome. But if,
- 10:56Speaker 3: if you get that extra field goal, at least your
- 10:58Speaker 3: kicker is going into next week with some momentum, right?
- 11:01Speaker 1: He has, listen, he has some confidence. He hit his
- 11:03Speaker 1: last kick. I mean, And listen, the team in general
- 11:06Speaker 1: has some confidence. They scored in that final drive. They
- 11:09Speaker 1: got a field goal against a better team, better opponent,
- 11:12Speaker 1: Louisiana Tech. You have to feel good. You'll take your
- 11:14Speaker 1: points when you can get them. And you'll take your
- 11:16Speaker 1: confidence when you can get some. And they are a
- 11:19Speaker 1: confident team going into next week.
- 11:21Speaker 3: So I'm looking at the box score right now. La
- 11:24Speaker 3: Tech had 296 passing yards, 232 rushing yards. That field
- 11:29Speaker 3: goal came when they were down 83. I get what
- 11:32Speaker 3: your Saints do. You can't kick a field goal when
- 11:34Speaker 3: you're with, with 47 seconds left. You can't line up
- 11:38Speaker 3: a 37 yard field goal when you're down 80 to three.
- 11:42Speaker 1: Mikey, how do you feel about this? They're down 80
- 11:44Speaker 1: to three.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Okay. 80 to three.
- 11:47Speaker 1: And I'm okay. Listen, they tried scoring touchdowns. They tried
- 11:51Speaker 1: the entire game. They couldn't score a touchdown. They're not
- 11:54Speaker 1: going to score a touchdown. Why not take the three
- 11:57Speaker 1: when the three is available? I realize the score is
- 12:00Speaker 1: 80 to three and you're down by 77 points on
- 12:03Speaker 1: the road.
- 12:04Speaker 4: Just remember this.
- 12:06Speaker 5: The kicker's always looking for a new job, and the
- 12:08Speaker 5: special teams coach is looking for a new job. And
- 12:10Speaker 5: if he's saying, hey, man, you put me out there
- 12:13Speaker 5: twice to kick, we nailed both, I don't know what
- 12:15Speaker 5: your problem is, offensive defense.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Right.
- 12:17Speaker 1: What you're saying is that kicker is auditioning. He's kicking
- 12:19Speaker 1: for somebody, right?
- 12:20Speaker 2: Yes. Exactly. The place he's going to transfer next year, right?
- 12:25Speaker 1: Yes.
- 12:25Speaker 3: So Northwestern State, they're going on the road this week
- 12:29Speaker 3: to East Texas A & M.
- 12:31Speaker 6: Right.
- 12:32Speaker 3: The Lions out of the Southland Conference at the FCS level.
- 12:38Speaker 3: That's got to be East Texas A & M right now.
- 12:40Speaker 3: I don't know anything about this team. This has to
- 12:43Speaker 3: be their easiest game on their schedule.
- 12:45Speaker 2: Northwestern State, yes.
- 12:47Speaker 1: If you're deeming them the worst team in the history
- 12:48Speaker 1: of college football, then, of course, they're everyone's easiest game.
- 12:51Speaker 2: I mean.
- 12:53Speaker 3: But imagine when they win. It won't happen, but imagine.
- 12:58Speaker 2: You have them going winless this year. Is that what
- 13:00Speaker 2: you're saying?
- 13:01Speaker 3: This is my bold take after week one.
- 13:03Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 13:03Speaker 3: Northwestern State demons will not win a game this year.
- 13:07Speaker 3: Going to go out on a limb there.
- 13:08Speaker 2: All right.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Mikey, what is going on with you in bowling? Why
- 13:12Speaker 1: are you starting a bowling league? I judge people who
- 13:14Speaker 1: start bowling leagues. I judge people who bring their own
- 13:17Speaker 1: ball to the bowling alley.
- 13:19Speaker 2: What are you doing here?
- 13:21Speaker 5: First off, I've got two balls that I bring to
- 13:23Speaker 5: the alley. I got a spare ball and a strike ball.
- 13:25Speaker 2: A couple of balls cutting it up.
- 13:28Speaker 3: Yes. What's the difference between your spare ball and your
- 13:31Speaker 3: strike ball?
- 13:33Speaker 4: My spare ball is plastic and doesn't hook. Right.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Go straighter.
- 13:37Speaker 3: Naturally, yeah. I don't know how I couldn't assume that.
- 13:40Speaker 2: Wait, so you walk into the alley with two bags?
- 13:43Speaker 4: I have to wheel it. I have to wheel it.
- 13:45Speaker 2: What?
- 13:45Speaker 4: No, it's one bag, two balls.
- 13:47Speaker 2: That's the wheel. I mean, technically, we all walk into
- 13:49Speaker 2: the alley with two balls.
- 13:50Speaker 4: I mean. I got four.
- 13:52Speaker 2: I did. Were you ending it there?
- 14:03Speaker 4: No, I was just waving you off.
- 14:07Speaker 2: So go ahead. More about your bowling league. I can't
- 14:09Speaker 2: believe it's turning into a Cody. Go ahead.
- 14:12Speaker 4: You asked me a question. You asked me why.
- 14:15Speaker 6: Yes.
- 14:16Speaker 5: And it's because I was in a league with my
- 14:19Speaker 5: son because he wanted to do it. And then he
- 14:21Speaker 5: decided he didn't want to do it anymore. And I
- 14:24Speaker 5: realized I do way too much just with him. And
- 14:26Speaker 5: I miss adult conversations. I miss having a couple of drinks.
- 14:31Speaker 5: And just hanging out.
- 14:32Speaker 4: With some adults. And I don't really get to do
- 14:34Speaker 4: it much, except with you guys. And frankly, I don't
- 14:37Speaker 4: really like most of you.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Right.
- 14:38Speaker 4: So I wanted to, it's a forced night out every week.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Right. Okay. And so the kid's not there is what
- 14:46Speaker 2: you're saying.
- 14:47Speaker 4: No, no kids. It's all adults.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Right. So it's just a reason to get away from
- 14:50Speaker 2: your kid.
- 14:50Speaker 4: Couple of friends.
- 14:51Speaker 6: Yes.
- 14:51Speaker 1: And you're putting under the umbrella of I'm tired of
- 14:54Speaker 1: having conversations with my kid. I miss adult conversations where
- 14:58Speaker 1: we talk about football.
- 15:00Speaker 5: Yes, as opposed to the conversation I have with my
- 15:02Speaker 5: kid where I talk about football.
- 15:04Speaker 3: Now, this might be a silly question since you're already
- 15:08Speaker 3: somebody who brings your own balls to.
- 15:09Speaker 2: A bowling alley. Yes, airball.
- 15:12Speaker 3: Are you bringing your own shoes and shirt too?
- 15:14Speaker 2: What do you think?
- 15:16Speaker 5: Shoes, absolutely. Shirt, I want to– this is day one
- 15:20Speaker 5: of the league starts today. I want to get a
- 15:22Speaker 5: feeler for it. I can't be the guy that walks
- 15:24Speaker 5: in with the shirt and no one else has a shirt.
- 15:27Speaker 5: Like I can't, I can't do everybody who bowls there
- 15:30Speaker 5: is probably going to have a ball, maybe two and
- 15:32Speaker 5: their own shoes.
- 15:33Speaker 4: I'm confident in that. But their own shirt, now you
- 15:36Speaker 4: might be pushing it.
- 15:38Speaker 3: Stu, when I think of bowling, the only person I
- 15:41Speaker 3: know when it comes to bowling is Pete Webber. That's
- 15:43Speaker 3: why I always make the Pete Webber reference. That has
- 15:46Speaker 3: to be bowling's number one moment. The Pete Webber, who
- 15:48Speaker 3: do you think you are?
- 15:49Speaker 2: I am. You are.
- 15:50Speaker 4: I am.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Yes.
- 15:51Speaker 1: I think Earl Anthony is generally considered the greatest bowler
- 15:54Speaker 1: of all time. But Pete Webber has the moment, the celebration,
- 15:57Speaker 1: probably the most famous.
- 15:58Speaker 2: Yes.
- 16:00Speaker 4: Can I ask you guys for a little help with this?
- 16:02Speaker 4: I might need a team name.
- 16:06Speaker 2: All right, you're responsible. You're the captain.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Are you wearing a jersey? You're not going to get
- 16:10Speaker 1: jerseys before the first match? What is it, a match,
- 16:12Speaker 1: a game?
- 16:13Speaker 2: What do you do?
- 16:14Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a match. Three games is a match.
- 16:18Speaker 3: So I think you get everybody on your team's favorite
- 16:22Speaker 3: NFL team, and then you make your bowling uniforms, like
- 16:26Speaker 3: the Pro Bowl uniforms, and then you guys are the
- 16:28Speaker 3: Pro Bowlers.
- 16:31Speaker 2: I don't hate that.
- 16:32Speaker 3: And then you get a little jet patch, says AFC.
- 16:36Speaker 4: I don't hate that.
- 16:37Speaker 2: Yeah, but Shador Sanders made a pro bowl.
- 16:46Speaker 4: Couldn't make our bowling team though.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Are you taking this under consideration? The pro bowlers?
- 16:55Speaker 4: You got something better?
- 16:57Speaker 2: No, I don't know.
- 16:58Speaker 1: I was thinking about spare ball, something like that.
- 17:03Speaker 2: A spare ball.
- 17:05Speaker 4: We've got two women and three men on our team.
- 17:07Speaker 2: Yes. I mean, a spare ball is a bit excessive.
- 17:09Speaker 2: Do we agree?
- 17:11Speaker 1: Bringing one ball because you take bowling seriously and you
- 17:13Speaker 1: want to have the grip and it's perfectly fitted to
- 17:16Speaker 1: your fingers. I understand that. But the spare ball that
- 17:19Speaker 1: could pick up the seven pin because it's on the
- 17:22Speaker 1: corner over there. Seems a bit excessive for someone who
- 17:25Speaker 1: doesn't really bowl.
- 17:26Speaker 3: 1,000%. My bowling strategy when I go to a bowling alley,
- 17:30Speaker 3: I find the hottest pink ball, the lightest one, and
- 17:34Speaker 3: I palm it and I just throw it down the lane.
- 17:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:38Speaker 3: I finish with like a score of 77.
- 17:41Speaker 4: You would be the Israel Gutierrez on our team.
- 17:43Speaker 3: Oh, by far. I'm such a liability when it comes
- 17:46Speaker 3: to bowling.
- 17:51Speaker 1: A spare ball is the only team name I had
- 17:54Speaker 1: for you.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Go with Pro Bowlers.

- 18:23Speaker 1: We'll get to do me a favor. Taylor has his
- 18:25Speaker 1: college football week two tears as well. I want to
- 18:29Speaker 1: ask you guys a question real quick here. Does it
- 18:31Speaker 1: bother you? We have Texas-Ohio State coming up this weekend.
- 18:35Speaker 1: A monster game. But does it bother you at all?
- 18:38Speaker 1: Because I maintain that college football had it right to
- 18:41Speaker 1: begin with. Their regular season meant something. These games meant something.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Does it bother you guys at all that Texas-Ohio State,
- 18:47Speaker 1: while still meaningful, doesn't mean the same that it used
- 18:51Speaker 1: to mean? Because you have to figure both teams, win
- 18:54Speaker 1: or lose, both teams are going to make it to
- 18:56Speaker 1: a 12-team playoff, don't you?
- 18:58Speaker 3: You would think that, but the season in the SEC
- 19:01Speaker 3: is so long where if Texas Ohio State could afford
- 19:04Speaker 3: a loss in this game. I don't think Texas can
- 19:06Speaker 3: because you're looking at a gauntlet of an SEC schedule.
- 19:09Speaker 3: It's hard to see Texas getting through pretty flawlessly. But
- 19:13Speaker 3: I do think there's an element there, Stu, where I
- 19:16Speaker 3: miss the days of college football where if you lost
- 19:19Speaker 3: in week one, if you lost in week two, that
- 19:21Speaker 3: was it. Pack it up. Your season's over.
- 19:23Speaker 2: Yes, right. We don't have that anymore.
- 19:25Speaker 1: And therefore, this game, while a big game, again, a
- 19:28Speaker 1: big game, I have to think that both teams have
- 19:30Speaker 1: a pretty good shot of making it to a 12-team playoff.
- 19:32Speaker 2: It's not an elimination game. I missed that.
- 19:36Speaker 4: I don't miss that at all.
- 19:37Speaker 5: I don't know why you would want your season to
- 19:39Speaker 5: be over in week one or two. This is going
- 19:43Speaker 5: to be one of the best games of the year,
- 19:45Speaker 5: at least on paper.
- 19:46Speaker 4: Right. Give, give me that every week.
- 19:49Speaker 5: If I can get it, I don't want to just
- 19:50Speaker 5: sit there and go, well, I guess this is an
- 19:52Speaker 5: elimination game.
- 19:53Speaker 2: I like that.
- 19:53Speaker 5: It puts a team on notice. Like if you lose
- 19:56Speaker 5: this game, you, you, you can't lose again. Now we're going,
- 19:59Speaker 5: if you lose twice, you're out, but no, absolutely.
- 20:02Speaker 4: Give me this game.
- 20:04Speaker 3: There is a good part of it where you have
- 20:06Speaker 3: teams that are more willing to play these big matchups
- 20:09Speaker 3: early in the season. But, Mikey, there's something almost romantic
- 20:13Speaker 3: about college football where the whole offseason... You spend wondering,
- 20:17Speaker 3: is my team going to be good? Is my team
- 20:19Speaker 3: going to be bad? Do I have a quarterback? Is
- 20:21Speaker 3: my coach going to get himself on the hot seat?
- 20:23Speaker 3: And you go into week one. That ball is about
- 20:26Speaker 3: to kick off, and you have such high expectations. And
- 20:29Speaker 3: then by the end of that game, your expectations are over,
- 20:32Speaker 3: and you're just thinking about when is the next offseason.
- 20:34Speaker 2: Right, you're thinking about the holiday bowl. I mean.
- 20:38Speaker 4: Why would you want to ruin your entire fall? Why
- 20:42Speaker 4: would you want to ruin it?
- 20:44Speaker 3: As a North Carolina fan, I go into every season optimistic,
- 20:48Speaker 3: and then that ball gets kicked off, and I go, well,
- 20:50Speaker 3: best case scenario is we end up in the Belk Bowl.
- 20:55Speaker 2: You'll take the Belk Bowl right now.
- 20:57Speaker 3: I would kill for the Belk Bowl. It's not the
- 20:59Speaker 3: Belk Bowl anymore. It's the Duke's Mayo Bowl in Charlotte.
- 21:01Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
- 21:02Speaker 1: So, Mikey, I'm not trying to take the game away
- 21:05Speaker 1: from you. I'm just saying these games have less meaning
- 21:08Speaker 1: than they've ever had.
- 21:09Speaker 2: That's all I'm saying.
- 21:10Speaker 5: Yeah, but if you're Texas or Ohio State, why even
- 21:13Speaker 5: schedule this game if I lose and I'm done?
- 21:16Speaker 4: Right. Why would you even consider it?
- 21:20Speaker 1: Because you want to play somebody good?
- 21:22Speaker 2: No, I don't.
- 21:24Speaker 5: I'd rather go– if the situation is I lose and
- 21:28Speaker 5: I'm done, then I don't want to play anybody good.
- 21:30Speaker 5: I want to play Northwestern State, the demons, and just
- 21:35Speaker 5: play them 13 times a year.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Right, beat them 80-6 on a late field goal. They
- 21:39Speaker 2: get their sixth point.
- 21:40Speaker 3: But what you have to be careful about in this
- 21:43Speaker 3: new era is you have Sark basically saying what Mikey said,
- 21:47Speaker 3: like last year, if we didn't play Ohio State, we
- 21:49Speaker 3: find ourselves in the playoffs. Let's go schedule cupcakes. I'm
- 21:53Speaker 3: pretty sure that's what Rutgers thought when they were scheduling UMass.
- 21:56Speaker 2: Right.
- 21:57Speaker 1: By the way, you see how that's what UMass thought. Yes,
- 21:59Speaker 1: it was a great question by you. We love that
- 22:02Speaker 1: we have access to Spags. He's a friend of mine.
- 22:04Speaker 1: Did you see how he lit up? He didn't light up.
- 22:06Speaker 2: About anything else other than your UMass question.
- 22:09Speaker 3: He said great question.
- 22:11Speaker 4: It wasn't.
- 22:11Speaker 2: It was just something he was interested in. He loved it.
- 22:18Speaker 2: All right.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Taylor has college football week two tears. How do you
- 22:21Speaker 1: want to do this here, Taylor?
- 22:22Speaker 2: What are we doing?
- 22:23Speaker 3: First, Ricardo, I need the music.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Ah, yes, the music. I'm sorry.
- 22:27Speaker 3: This is Taylor's Tears on a Tuesday.
- 22:29Speaker 1: All right.
- 22:30Speaker 2: Tears on a Tuesday.
- 22:30Speaker 4: Love a good drum line.
- 22:32Speaker 2: I keep saying week two. It was week one. That
- 22:34Speaker 2: week zero thing continues to throw me off.
- 22:36Speaker 6: I hate it.
- 22:36Speaker 2: Get rid of it.
- 22:38Speaker 3: So my first tier.
- 22:39Speaker 2: Yes.
- 22:40Speaker 3: We're about to find out who's who.
- 22:42Speaker 2: We're about.
- 22:43Speaker 3: This is the who's who tier.
- 22:44Speaker 1: The who's who tier. A very important tier here. We
- 22:47Speaker 1: find out who's who.
- 22:48Speaker 6: All right.
- 22:48Speaker 2: What do you have for us?
- 22:49Speaker 3: I have four teams in the who's who because they're
- 22:52Speaker 3: playing each other.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Wow. Okay.
- 22:54Speaker 3: Kentucky with their new coach, Will Stein, playing Alabama. We're
- 22:58Speaker 3: going to find out who's who.
- 22:59Speaker 1: Kentucky had a good recruiting class. They did well in
- 23:01Speaker 1: the transfer portal. Kentucky's a sneaky good team. So you're
- 23:05Speaker 1: saying we're going to find out if Kentucky's for real,
- 23:07Speaker 1: or is that.
- 23:07Speaker 2: A different game?
- 23:08Speaker 3: For real, games are a bit different. This is just
- 23:10Speaker 3: more so a who's who game.
- 23:12Speaker 2: Okay, so who's who. So we're going to find out.
- 23:14Speaker 2: What are we finding out? If Alabama's good?
- 23:17Speaker 3: We're going to find out if Alabama's good. We're going
- 23:19Speaker 3: to find out if Kenny Minchies could be this SEC
- 23:23Speaker 3: player of the year type quarterback in Kentucky.
- 23:25Speaker 2: Yes, I'm sorry, Mikey.
- 23:26Speaker 5: Stu, we're going to find out who's who. I don't
- 23:29Speaker 5: know if you heard the name of the tier.
- 23:30Speaker 2: My bad.
- 23:31Speaker 4: We're going to find out who's who.
- 23:33Speaker 2: There are four teams in it.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Kentucky and Alabama are two of them.
- 23:35Speaker 2: I'm sorry, Mikey.
- 23:36Speaker 6: You are right.
- 23:37Speaker 2: Thank you for correcting me. Let's keep it moving.
- 23:40Speaker 3: The other two teams in the who's who tier. Texas
- 23:43Speaker 3: and Ohio state.
- 23:44Speaker 6: Wow.
- 23:44Speaker 2: The game that shouldn't be played.
- 23:46Speaker 3: I mean, this is big time redemption game for Archer Manning.
- 23:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:53Speaker 2: That's so sold on arch. I gotta be honest.
- 23:56Speaker 3: I mean, the last half of the season, he was
- 23:59Speaker 3: the best quarterback in college football.
- 24:00Speaker 2: Prove it to me. I mean, do it for a
- 24:02Speaker 2: whole year.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Do it against Ohio state. Do it from the start
- 24:04Speaker 1: of the season. Do it in week two. When a
- 24:06Speaker 1: who's who game.
- 24:07Speaker 2: How about that?
- 24:07Speaker 5: Huh?
- 24:09Speaker 6: All right.
- 24:10Speaker 3: My next tier.
- 24:11Speaker 6: Yep.
- 24:12Speaker 3: Good loss.
- 24:14Speaker 2: Oh, the good loss tier. Okay.
- 24:16Speaker 4: I like this. Love a good loss.
- 24:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:18Speaker 3: One team in the good loss tier from this week.
- 24:20Speaker 2: Okay.
- 24:21Speaker 3: The Louisville Cardinals.
- 24:24Speaker 2: That was a good loss. They lost to Mississippi.
- 24:27Speaker 1: It was a close game, but you saw, we all saw,
- 24:29Speaker 1: the entire country saw that Louisville is a playoff worthy team.
- 24:33Speaker 3: And they have a quarterback.
- 24:34Speaker 2: Yes. Yes.
- 24:35Speaker 3: They can sling it.
- 24:36Speaker 2: Yes. Former Ohio State guy, right?
- 24:38Speaker 4: Yes. Unless Stugatz got his way and then they're already out.
- 24:44Speaker 2: So that was the one good loss tier.
- 24:45Speaker 1: Yep.
- 24:46Speaker 2: Okay.
- 24:47Speaker 3: The next tier.
- 24:47Speaker 1: It was a good loss. As far as losses go,
- 24:49Speaker 1: it was a great loss. They showed in a loss
- 24:51Speaker 1: that they are indeed for real.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Yes.
- 24:53Speaker 3: So that was the good loss tier. The next tier
- 24:56Speaker 3: is the great loss tier. Ah, the great loss tier.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Okay. I love this. A GL. Go ahead. I guess
- 25:01Speaker 2: they're both GLs. Go ahead.
- 25:02Speaker 3: The great loss tier. The Western Michigan Broncos.
- 25:05Speaker 4: Ah, what? Ah.
- 25:09Speaker 2: That's a great loss. Is it a great loss?
- 25:12Speaker 4: No, that's not a great loss.
- 25:14Speaker 1: It's a game they thought they won. They ended up
- 25:16Speaker 1: losing on a technicality. I mean, I had no idea
- 25:19Speaker 1: that we're looking at a different clock than the referees are.
- 25:22Speaker 2: I don't know if that's a good loss.
- 25:24Speaker 3: It's not a good loss. It's a great loss.
- 25:26Speaker 2: It's a great loss. I don't know if that's a
- 25:28Speaker 2: great loss. What is that great loss going to do
- 25:29Speaker 2: for them?
- 25:32Speaker 4: Absolutely nothing. I disagree with this tier.
- 25:35Speaker 2: It's his tier, though.
- 25:38Speaker 4: The next tier.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Yes.
- 25:40Speaker 2: Hot garbage. Michigan.
- 25:42Speaker 3: A lot of teams in the hot garbage tier. Our
- 25:45Speaker 3: most loaded category so far. I'll run through all the
- 25:50Speaker 3: teams in the hot garbage tier.
- 25:51Speaker 1: That can't be a great loss for Western Michigan. That
- 25:54Speaker 1: would have been the biggest win in the history of
- 25:58Speaker 1: that football program. And it was taken away from them
- 26:01Speaker 1: by the referees. And no one seems to care. The
- 26:04Speaker 1: fans care more than the Western Michigan coach, AD, fan base,
- 26:08Speaker 1: and the entire team.
- 26:10Speaker 2: I'm confused by it.
- 26:13Speaker 4: According to Heather Dinich, the Mac is appealing the loss.
- 26:17Speaker 2: Really?
- 26:17Speaker 3: Because it was a great loss. Might get flipped to
- 26:20Speaker 3: a win.
- 26:20Speaker 2: Why would you appeal it if it's a great loss, though?
- 26:23Speaker 3: Because it was so great, it should be a win.
- 26:26Speaker 2: Would it be a good win or a great win?
- 26:28Speaker 3: Oh, it would be the best win in program history.
- 26:31Speaker 2: Right.
- 26:31Speaker 1: Well, that's convenient.
- 26:35Speaker 2: Wait, so the conference.
- 26:36Speaker 3: I think this loss for Western Michigan is better than
- 26:41Speaker 3: any win they've ever gotten as a program.
- 26:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:45Speaker 5: The Mac has issued a statement saying it is now
- 26:48Speaker 5: evident that replay protocol was not properly followed, followed during
- 26:51Speaker 5: the Michigan game. The league has submitted formal appeals to
- 26:54Speaker 5: the NCAA FBS oversight committee and the CFP asking they
- 26:59Speaker 5: recognize Western Michigan as the actual winner.
- 27:02Speaker 2: Of the game. I vote yes. But here we are
- 27:06Speaker 2: playing sports in a courtroom again. I mean, it's unbelievable.
- 27:10Speaker 3: Hail to the victors was about Western Michigan.
- 27:14Speaker 2: Was it?
- 27:15Speaker 3: Yeah, it's definitely not. It's Michigan's fight song, but it
- 27:17Speaker 3: should be hail to the victors, Western Michigan, the Broncos.
- 27:21Speaker 3: Hot garbage tier.
- 27:22Speaker 2: Yes.
- 27:23Speaker 3: Oklahoma State, Florida State, and everything that was in that
- 27:27Speaker 3: Baylor and Auburn game.
- 27:31Speaker 2: Including Wagway.
- 27:33Speaker 3: I finished that game, and it was an exciting finish because...
- 27:37Speaker 3: You have the two-point conversion. Baylor goes for two in
- 27:39Speaker 3: the win. Lagway throws it behind him. They fall like
- 27:42Speaker 3: a half inch short. And when that game ended, I
- 27:45Speaker 3: was like, great finish, but I wish I could get
- 27:48Speaker 3: my like three hours back that I watched this game.
- 27:50Speaker 2: Yes. Put it on the poll, Taylor.
- 27:52Speaker 1: When a ball is thrown behind a wide receiver, do
- 27:54Speaker 1: you know it's DJ Lagway playing quarterback?
- 27:59Speaker 3: Then I have one team in my contender tier for
- 28:01Speaker 3: right now.
- 28:01Speaker 2: Just one.
- 28:02Speaker 6: Yep.
- 28:03Speaker 2: All right.
- 28:04Speaker 4: Who do you got don't say it don't say it.
- 28:06Speaker 1: Don't you dare Notre Dame wow okay I love this
- 28:10Speaker 1: Notre Dame they look good in those bad uniforms they
- 28:12Speaker 1: did yeah every.
- 28:14Speaker 3: Other team I don't mention is in my jury still
- 28:16Speaker 3: out and then the final tier today the best team
- 28:21Speaker 3: these two eyes have ever laid eyes on oh I
- 28:24Speaker 3: know that is who's that LSU, go Tigers.
- 28:28Speaker 2: He loves them. Go Tigers. He loves them.
- 28:37Speaker 1: One trip to Death Valley. Actually, his third, as we
- 28:40Speaker 1: learned today. And he loves the Tigers.
- 28:43Speaker 2: Roll Tigers.
- 28:44Speaker 1: All right, let's get to do me a favor. We
- 28:45Speaker 1: have less than two minutes here. What happened there, Mikey?
- 28:47Speaker 6: What did I do?
- 28:48Speaker 3: Roll Tigers.
- 28:48Speaker 4: You said roll Tigers.
- 28:49Speaker 2: I don't know. I'm tired, man. I'm sorry, man.
- 28:52Speaker 1: Football started and I'm exhausted already.
- 28:55Speaker 2: Go Tigers. Do me a favor. Leave me alone. Do
- 29:04Speaker 2: me a favor.
- 29:05Speaker 1: The guy who plays golf and afterwards he's in the
- 29:09Speaker 1: parking lot and feels the need to take his golf
- 29:12Speaker 1: shoes off and clack them together to get the dirt
- 29:15Speaker 1: and the mud out.
- 29:16Speaker 2: Do me a favor. Stop doing it. You're annoying.
- 29:20Speaker 1: We get it. We got you. You played golf. You're
- 29:23Speaker 1: a golfer. You played so well. You have to get
- 29:26Speaker 1: the mud out of your shoes and your spikes before
- 29:28Speaker 1: you go home.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Do me a favor.
- 29:30Speaker 1: They invented a machine for that. Stop doing it and
- 29:33Speaker 1: doing it so loudly that it annoys me trying to
- 29:36Speaker 1: get a peaceful moment in the golf. community's parking lot.
- 29:41Speaker 6: Enough.
- 29:42Speaker 2: Do me a favor. Knock it off.
- 29:46Speaker 4: I'll go next.
- 29:46Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 29:47Speaker 4: Do me a favor. It's fantasy football season, okay?
- 29:50Speaker 2: Yep.
- 29:50Speaker 5: You don't need the whole clock to make your pick, okay?
- 29:53Speaker 5: We all know you're going to take Jameer Gibbs or
- 29:55Speaker 5: Bijan Robinson. You don't need 90 seconds to pick your
- 29:58Speaker 5: kicker in the last round.
