- 0:59Speaker 3: because we talked about having you come through most definitely
- 1:02Speaker 3: short line Mafia o GZ. Phoenix Flexon is here. He
- 1:06Speaker 3: real pandemic energy with the Pooshi sty.
- 1:08Speaker 2: That's what the first is. This our first interview. Now
- 1:12Speaker 2: we have a bus.
- 1:12Speaker 1: I haven't came out yet. Yeah, okay, we're staffed right now.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Yeah, you guys have been running around, man, motherfucker. Yeah, no,
- 1:18Speaker 3: fucking Coachella.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Coachella this week. It's Coachella weeks. Listen hotel, are you guys?
- 1:24Speaker 3: I mean, that's gotta be just growing up as kids
- 1:26Speaker 3: in La Coachella is like one of them thangs like you.
- 1:30Speaker 3: I mean, it's like a championship belt. It's like an
- 1:31Speaker 3: oscar damn near you know what I mean? You guys.
- 1:34Speaker 3: Are you guys doing the airbnbing all that out there?
- 1:37Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah, we got some normal ship, but I'm for
- 1:40Speaker 2: the free style of finously was cracking to go to
- 1:42Speaker 2: the after party.
- 1:43Speaker 3: This guy's balls are shaved, he's ready.
- 1:47Speaker 1: On the lowest key.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Yo. No, I feel like I feel like that's just
- 1:51Speaker 3: a big deal. Man. Are you guys, like, how how
- 1:54Speaker 3: long is your sat forty five minutes. That's a fucking
- 1:57Speaker 3: that's a serious out real in a real way. Yo,
- 2:02Speaker 3: it's been crazy to just kind of watch, like, you know,
- 2:04Speaker 3: obviously at the last four or five years, like some
- 2:07Speaker 3: of the I mean, the last time you were here,
- 2:09Speaker 3: I was like, Yo, what would it take? And You're
- 2:10Speaker 3: like a big ass bag for us to get back together.
- 2:13Speaker 3: So I'm sure there's a bag involved. You guys are
- 2:16Speaker 3: getting money together.
- 2:17Speaker 2: But we was already getting money separate, No, for sure.
- 2:20Speaker 1: For sure, successful tours a type of shit.
- 2:23Speaker 3: Know, you guys are each your own industry, is a
- 2:26Speaker 3: solo artist.
- 2:27Speaker 2: But I think I think that's why it all came
- 2:29Speaker 2: together even perfect, because I was at a point, we
- 2:32Speaker 2: were both at points where it was like, then we're
- 2:34Speaker 2: already making money, Like let's just do this just together.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Like it became like more than just that.
- 2:40Speaker 3: It was like, say, did John damn near like have
- 2:42Speaker 3: to live a lot of life because I see you
- 2:44Speaker 3: Jez talking about like just your personal growth and and
- 2:47Speaker 3: you know, I feel like when when groups break up,
- 2:50Speaker 3: there's egos involved, and then like you kind of have
- 2:53Speaker 3: to have a point of recollection where you kind of a.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Little I feel like both of us went on. You know,
- 2:58Speaker 1: we both had our spiritualney too, you know what I mean,
- 3:01Speaker 1: which is a big part of it. You know, I
- 3:03Speaker 1: got humbled in many ways over the last couple of years,
- 3:05Speaker 1: you know, to you know what I'm saying, This is blessing,
- 3:08Speaker 1: you know what I mean. It feels good, nothing but
- 3:09Speaker 1: good energy.
- 3:10Speaker 3: We at what point in times, y'all feel like y'all
- 3:11Speaker 3: like kind of healed whatever, Like weird tension was there.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Just like linking back up and just like a lot
- 3:17Speaker 2: of the first time we met up, it was yeah,
- 3:20Speaker 2: we fucking we spent so much time apart, and that
- 3:23Speaker 2: whole time was like healing time. So when we link
- 3:25Speaker 2: back up, like you get you could easily tell what
- 3:28Speaker 2: someone is on. Like, yeah, it was just like we're
- 3:30Speaker 2: both different now different, we both like more mature different.
- 3:35Speaker 2: It's easy to communicate, Like, you know, we're not kids.
- 3:38Speaker 3: No more, right, right, right y'all as hell, y'all got
- 3:41Speaker 3: fucking kids, you know what I'm saying, Like a motherfucker.
- 3:44Speaker 2: And that's another thing, Like we both do everything we
- 3:46Speaker 2: do for our kids, right, So it's like it's like, bro,
- 3:49Speaker 2: why not like do the most that we can for kids?
- 3:52Speaker 1: Make sure to established a legacy that our kids could
- 3:55Speaker 1: look back at, like, Damn, it's crazy. Pops was Joints.
- 3:59Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure, it's crazy too because I feel like
- 4:02Speaker 3: your guys chemistry in the studio picked like right back up,
- 4:05Speaker 3: because I remember going over bringing out some pizza maybe
- 4:08Speaker 3: like a month and a half or two ago. And uh,
- 4:12Speaker 3: I mean with the dope thing about this album, it's
- 4:14Speaker 3: just you guys, but it felt like you guys were
- 4:17Speaker 3: just like flowing, like it was just so cohesive.
- 4:20Speaker 2: It was that you came by. It was like the
- 4:22Speaker 2: last week to turn in.
- 4:23Speaker 1: The album and cranking them out.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Yeah. Me, And it was just like on a whole
- 4:28Speaker 2: different level, like like the connection.
- 4:31Speaker 3: Was like Dwyane Wade and Lebron Yeah, it was.
- 4:33Speaker 2: It was higher than ever. Like we were just back
- 4:35Speaker 2: to back on songs like going crazy.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Like you said, it was already going crazy on all
- 4:39Speaker 1: It's like go cooling Vegeto when they turning to go Gito. Man.
- 4:43Speaker 3: Yeah, my son would get that reference, not me, but
- 4:45Speaker 3: my kid wouldn't.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Like Dragon ball Z.
- 4:48Speaker 3: I like, the only anime I watched is The.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Boondocks That Don't Count, And I like that inn invincible
- 4:55Speaker 1: dope that's one of my favorite shows right Now's crazy?
- 4:57Speaker 3: It's crazy. Do you guys feel like because uh, I
- 5:01Speaker 3: gotta say, your album is fucking crazy, it's your best album.
- 5:04Speaker 3: And then I was.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Thinking, so I was like, the best slap, bestuck work
- 5:08Speaker 2: I've done.
- 5:09Speaker 3: And then like a month later, we get this shortline album,
- 5:11Speaker 3: which is you know, I mean front to back is crazy.
- 5:15Speaker 3: I listened to it on my drive last week or
- 5:18Speaker 3: like literally Thursday night and night had dropped. I was
- 5:19Speaker 3: driving Phoenix. I do that ship. I'm like, damn, do
- 5:22Speaker 3: you guys feel like this the best ship?
- 5:24Speaker 2: Like most just vibes like our rapist polished, We we
- 5:29Speaker 2: at a different level in our career, and like it's
- 5:31Speaker 2: just vibes like we make party trap music. You feel
- 5:34Speaker 2: me and I feel like we brought that.
- 5:35Speaker 1: We brought that to And don't get me wrong, with
- 5:37Speaker 1: all our projects, I've definitely listened. I'll listening to our music,
- 5:40Speaker 1: you know what I mean. But this project in particular,
- 5:42Speaker 1: I really and like, I really like I could. I
- 5:44Speaker 1: listened to it a lot, you know, I really like.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Uh, we we more polished, we focused, we at the
- 5:49Speaker 2: I feel like we at the best stays in our life.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Right now for SURETI the next days we get better.
- 5:55Speaker 3: My favorite is the shortline twin song, Yeah video coming
- 5:59Speaker 3: to Yeah, we got to talk about I've heard about
- 6:05Speaker 3: this place that you place.
- 6:08Speaker 2: I'm missing a few places in the song.
- 6:11Speaker 3: Like Hong Kong and Hong Kong and China on Chicken
- 6:15Speaker 3: it's in Mexico. Oh how Yeah? How is that good?
- 6:21Speaker 1: Red outfits? You been there? I've heard about it though.
- 6:24Speaker 3: Yeah. I always wondered what was like like a Chinese restaurant.
- 6:29Speaker 2: I had experts come in and let me know.
- 6:32Speaker 3: You had a consultant all about it.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Yeah, so we got right to put the verse.
- 6:35Speaker 3: It makes sense you had someone go do recon. Yeah
- 6:39Speaker 3: that's fair.
- 6:40Speaker 1: The hommies want to go check it out.
- 6:42Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, but Yo shout out. You also shout it
- 6:44Speaker 3: out of my place, man, Jaguars and Phoenix.

- 7:06Speaker 1: for the cluse.
- 7:07Speaker 3: What is your guys on the hard worker? What do
- 7:09Speaker 3: you guys think is the best strip club in the
- 7:11Speaker 3: United We'll keep it to the US US.
- 7:14Speaker 1: My favorite was probably the Well I've had the most
- 7:17Speaker 1: fun at, you know, because I don't really like strip clubs,
- 7:19Speaker 1: to be honest. But Uh, he's got good ass food.
- 7:23Speaker 2: She's got the Lobster.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Detroit got good strip club food too.
- 7:28Speaker 2: They got frid Lobster.
- 7:30Speaker 3: Uh.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Booby Trap Like when I was hell a younger, we
- 7:33Speaker 1: was out there.
- 7:34Speaker 2: I remember, I've had some good life for Roland Loud
- 7:36Speaker 2: Week and I have some good ass times that booby
- 7:38Speaker 2: Trap with all the hommies, Like all the hommies are RP.
- 7:40Speaker 2: It's not even here no more, Like I've gone up
- 7:42Speaker 2: with them.
- 7:43Speaker 1: So it was us. I think it was us, and
- 7:44Speaker 1: I've had've been I've been to.
- 7:46Speaker 2: I've been a booby trap with a lot of hommies.
- 7:49Speaker 2: Is not here no more, like I'm thinking about it.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Like the last time I was there, I was with
- 7:52Speaker 2: myhummy Can for his birthday week RPN, Can you can man,
- 7:55Speaker 2: I've been there with awful Josh everybody. So I've had
- 7:58Speaker 2: some good ass times of movies. I gonna say movie
- 8:00Speaker 2: trap because I've been with her with all my booby traps.
- 8:03Speaker 3: The place where you walk out and it's like right
- 8:06Speaker 3: outside it's six in the morning, and then you're like.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Contemplator life, what did we just?
- 8:13Speaker 3: The whole world is like the stock market's open right now,
- 8:15Speaker 3: Like what are we doing? Like we just left the
- 8:17Speaker 3: Tick club? Like what? Nah?
- 8:21Speaker 2: No?
- 8:21Speaker 3: For sure, yo, I wonder, like I always say when
- 8:25Speaker 3: I think of like, uh, this entire era of I
- 8:30Speaker 3: mean from like twenty seventeen to now, you guys, I say,
- 8:35Speaker 3: you guys and Draco are the most influential artists in
- 8:40Speaker 3: the West Coast.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Appreciate that much.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Love everybody sounds like spinoff inspired. I don't want to
- 8:47Speaker 3: be disrespect y'all, Hey, don't talk to interview my boy.
- 8:53Speaker 3: But I wonder because because because I don't want to
- 8:55Speaker 3: be disrespectful everybody, but does sound like everybody's kind of
- 8:57Speaker 3: like a Draco or a shoreline you know inspired it
- 9:04Speaker 3: keep a respect like that?
- 9:06Speaker 2: It's flattering for sure, Like that that's what we set
- 9:09Speaker 2: out to do. We set out to inspire. But even
- 9:11Speaker 2: next generation, next group of people, whoever gonna do that
- 9:14Speaker 2: shit for me, but to y'all because I mean wearing Yeah,
- 9:18Speaker 2: we was inspired by other people facts.
- 9:20Speaker 1: What do they say imitation is the biggest form of
- 9:23Speaker 1: flat like that.
- 9:24Speaker 3: Yeah, I just wonder because if you guys are y'all
- 9:27Speaker 3: like it's like damn like I feel like when these
- 9:29Speaker 3: conversations are had about Like there was a point.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Though when we was like like twenty eighteen nineteen where
- 9:36Speaker 2: everyone's making NonStop like shortline music and that made us
- 9:39Speaker 2: not want to make that.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Yeah, like yo, everybody's on our ship. Let's just some
- 9:42Speaker 3: new ship.
- 9:43Speaker 1: It was like a hundred musty bottle service type beats.
- 9:46Speaker 3: It's going around like, Yeah, I just wonder, like if
- 9:49Speaker 3: do you guys care about getting your flowers in terms
- 9:52Speaker 3: of just y'all's.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Like places I feel like we do, like we get
- 9:55Speaker 1: our flowers, like.
- 9:55Speaker 2: Besides people telling us, like a lot of people do
- 9:58Speaker 2: tell us, and even if you don't tell us, we see.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Like like going out everywhere we go to the mall,
- 10:02Speaker 1: it's like love everywhere, like a damn near a meet
- 10:04Speaker 1: and greet wherever we go, you know, right.
- 10:06Speaker 3: Now, just like because you know, there's like these like
- 10:08Speaker 3: bigger hip hop mouthpieces that aren't necessarily like very very
- 10:13Speaker 3: like well versed on like la hip hop whatever. It's
- 10:16Speaker 3: like the academics of the world or the you know,
- 10:18Speaker 3: the rap radars of the world. I'm like, nah, I
- 10:20Speaker 3: don't really understand, Like this is like Shortline and Draco
- 10:22Speaker 3: for real show.
- 10:24Speaker 1: I'll go to meet on that for sure, I know,
- 10:25Speaker 1: you know.
- 10:25Speaker 2: What I mean. I feel like that's like Internet though,
- 10:28Speaker 2: Like we feel real lifelove right, like we're a world love.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Like for sure around the globe too, not just California,
- 10:33Speaker 1: like everywhere one hundred percent.
- 10:35Speaker 3: Man, how do you guys feel like you improved each
- 10:39Speaker 3: being separate from each other? Was it just because, like
- 10:42Speaker 3: you said, you guys each have done tours and albums
- 10:44Speaker 3: and mixtapes and features, and you know, I know that
- 10:49Speaker 3: uh together as a group you guys. Obviously, the plaques
- 10:53Speaker 3: are crazy, the tours are crazy, all that shit. But
- 10:55Speaker 3: like being a part and having to kind of build
- 10:58Speaker 3: up your solo brands.
- 11:00Speaker 1: I'd say, sonically, like ship this the sound overall, like
- 11:04Speaker 1: this the complete So I feel like he completely established
- 11:07Speaker 1: his sound, you know what I mean, both of us.
- 11:09Speaker 1: I feel like this completely found our sound, you know
- 11:11Speaker 1: what I mean? So when we come together with our
- 11:13Speaker 1: refined sound for the both of us, it just makes
- 11:16Speaker 1: it that much more of a polished product.
- 11:18Speaker 2: I feel like it makes it all better working together.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Definitely.
- 11:21Speaker 3: Was there a solo record that each of you guys
- 11:23Speaker 3: saw that you were like, fuck, that ship is too tough, man.
- 11:26Speaker 3: I wish I could have been on that A couple
- 11:29Speaker 3: couple for sure for sure. Yeah, like this fucking guy's
- 11:32Speaker 3: got fucking number one records of radio.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Still come on, going crazy, still.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Fucking Geeka League is like never going to go away
- 11:38Speaker 3: on LA radio.
- 11:39Speaker 1: That sit so much that's just crazy.
- 11:41Speaker 2: That's it's stuck on the radio.
- 11:42Speaker 1: And then now I got a.
- 11:43Speaker 3: Heat stick which literally will not stop being like on
- 11:46Speaker 3: real ninety two to three dollars sticks like fucking eighty
- 11:49Speaker 3: times a week.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Just he stick just entered like the top fifty like
- 11:53Speaker 2: something on radio.
- 11:53Speaker 3: Like no, but they like won't go away here. I
- 11:56Speaker 3: don't know where everyondhere else but in LA that shit
- 11:58Speaker 3: is going up. It just went golder.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Platinum congrats shout out the DJ spinning Man.
- 12:03Speaker 3: First record back is gold.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Yeah, how to do it?
- 12:06Speaker 3: Yeah? On the way to plat was there any sort
- 12:08Speaker 3: of with the back with the back of Business album cover.
- 12:11Speaker 3: It reminded me a little bit of the component reference.
- 12:16Speaker 2: That's the exact reference was that a Board and Raised
- 12:18Speaker 2: meeting coming up with designs for the Board and Raised collapse.
- 12:21Speaker 2: And then one of the hummies from Board and Raised
- 12:23Speaker 2: was just like, you know, because we're like, what do
- 12:25Speaker 2: you guys want to do with the cover like obviously
- 12:28Speaker 2: like something like nineties two thousand, like woo tang, like
- 12:32Speaker 2: that whole error, and then he's like, oh, y'all got
- 12:33Speaker 2: to do it, like cnn.
- 12:35Speaker 1: I'm like oh, And the shot was so perfect, like
- 12:37Speaker 1: the way it panned out, like it just was so perfect,
- 12:39Speaker 1: so easy.
- 12:40Speaker 2: That was a real like car explosion behind us literally
- 12:43Speaker 2: for real, Like the guy risked his life doing this ship.
- 12:46Speaker 3: Like where do you go to explore the car for now?
- 12:48Speaker 2: Texas?
- 12:50Speaker 1: The dude had to he had to, like he had.
- 12:52Speaker 2: To wire fucking the ship to detonate. It didn't work
- 12:58Speaker 2: the first time he had to go rewired, didn't work
- 13:00Speaker 2: the second time he had to do it at third
- 13:02Speaker 2: I said, yo, I said, we love he don't need
- 13:04Speaker 2: to shot that bro, my boy like so I said it,
- 13:06Speaker 2: I said it. I'm like yo, I'm like yo, we
- 13:08Speaker 2: don't need to shot.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Every time he went back, everybody he could have died,
- 13:12Speaker 1: like for real.
- 13:13Speaker 3: It's like some real like bomb squash.
- 13:16Speaker 1: They got paid for that, so they're like, damn, we
- 13:18Speaker 1: gotta make this happen, you know what I mean.
- 13:19Speaker 2: And then the director, our director shout out, he's like,
- 13:22Speaker 2: we need the shot, we need it man, And I
- 13:25Speaker 2: was faded, so I smoke it on said, and I
- 13:27Speaker 2: don't really smoke like that, so I'm just faded. Like
- 13:30Speaker 2: the nerve. It was a nerve ragging, like.
- 13:32Speaker 3: You're in Texas? Does this guy have any nubs already?
- 13:35Speaker 3: Like what do you mean? I feel like you could
- 13:37Speaker 3: take it, Like in my head, I'm picturing a red
- 13:39Speaker 3: neck who's already blown off two fingers as a kid.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Profession it was like a professional.
- 13:46Speaker 2: I know. He was like it could it could be
- 13:49Speaker 2: over In the car was it like a limousine limousine?
- 13:51Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 13:52Speaker 3: Oh wow, So you guys had to pay for the car, Well,
- 13:55Speaker 3: we paid for the whole ship. That's worth it.
- 13:57Speaker 2: It was like one hundred and forty fifty REX with
- 13:59Speaker 2: a video.
- 14:01Speaker 3: Obviously, you've had a lot of experience as solo artists
- 14:03Speaker 3: with Atlantic, but as a group together. You guys that
- 14:05Speaker 3: were with Atlantic for years coming over to three hundred
- 14:09Speaker 3: and bringing all the business to a new label, what's
- 14:11Speaker 3: that been like for you?
- 14:12Speaker 2: I feel like it's been like night and day. Like
- 14:13Speaker 2: how much love and support we're getting from the new
- 14:16Speaker 2: team is crazy. The superhans on and then like Atlantic
- 14:19Speaker 2: was stacked with like superstars.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Way too much going on.
- 14:22Speaker 3: They had no idea what to do with you guys.
- 14:23Speaker 3: By the way, they're from the East Coast.
- 14:25Speaker 2: They're stacked the superstars, and we're making them so much
- 14:28Speaker 2: money and they don't have to spend money.
- 14:29Speaker 3: They're like, wait, we don't even have to push the ship.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Exact exactly exactly.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Yeah, with three hundred, I feel like they're actually excited
- 14:34Speaker 1: about what we got going on and want to want
- 14:36Speaker 1: to you know, they're focused and focus on this.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Yeah, because I think about like some of y'all's records
- 14:40Speaker 3: that like they never really pushed the radio, like like Musty,
- 14:43Speaker 3: like all these songs should have been have been cracking
- 14:45Speaker 3: on the radio for sure, Like these fools weren't really
- 14:48Speaker 3: like pressing the button. They were like pushing the button
- 14:49Speaker 3: on like Cardi B and Ship, which is fine.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Carty, no reason.
- 14:55Speaker 3: So we love Carty shots Cardy, but I'm saying like
- 14:57Speaker 3: they have like you know, I think what Uzie at
- 14:59Speaker 3: the time.
- 15:00Speaker 2: They had everywhere, they had everyone that you could think of,
- 15:02Speaker 2: And I feel like if it wasn't for the hard
- 15:03Speaker 2: work that we put in there, like we would have
- 15:05Speaker 2: never made it to this point in our life, you
- 15:07Speaker 2: feel me. We like DM there almost ten years in.
- 15:09Speaker 3: Like, is it weird being ogs when you guys like
- 15:13Speaker 3: are I mean, you still look like you're twelve, But
- 15:17Speaker 3: is it like you guys are like OG's now.
- 15:18Speaker 1: Like type shit shit like Yellow G's young OJS.
- 15:23Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure, but it's got to be kind of
- 15:24Speaker 3: crazy because it's like there's all these kids.
- 15:26Speaker 2: I honestly think it's like it's a compliment. It's like, Yo,
- 15:31Speaker 2: not too many people can make it this long and
- 15:33Speaker 2: this far. You feel me right, and we still really
- 15:36Speaker 2: scratching the sir, Like they got so much more shit
- 15:38Speaker 2: to do, and we got so much shit that we're
- 15:41Speaker 2: planning on doing and that we're gonna do.
- 15:43Speaker 3: So you guys also are like very when I think
- 15:46Speaker 3: of like that twenty seventeen twenty sixteen eighteen, like era
- 15:52Speaker 3: of like SoundCloud rap that had it started sound having
- 15:55Speaker 3: heavy drug use the perk thirty fucking jerseys. Blazzi shot
- 16:05Speaker 3: to him, Man, I had an astray here. Someone stole
- 16:08Speaker 3: my fucking astray that he made. Was it a Lexus
- 16:11Speaker 3: bastard he stolen? I think.
- 16:14Speaker 1: The bend over back blass. He gets down with the
- 16:16Speaker 1: little trinkets. Yeah, he's got all the trinkets. He's the drinking.
- 16:19Speaker 3: But it's crazy. But like back then, like you guys
- 16:22Speaker 3: were obviously doing a lot of drugs and ship it
- 16:25Speaker 3: was kind of before like people were too worried. Obviously
- 16:28Speaker 3: a lot of people overdose during that era. You know
- 16:30Speaker 3: a lot of people. We lost a lot of artists
- 16:31Speaker 3: who were.
- 16:31Speaker 1: Don't do drugs kids.
- 16:33Speaker 3: But like fetanohl wasn't necessarily like I wasn't a thing
- 16:36Speaker 3: like that, right, So like you, you weren't as worried
- 16:39Speaker 3: about like.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I don't even know I around like that.
- 16:43Speaker 1: Like we don't got to worry about it because I
- 16:44Speaker 1: wouldn't even put myself in the position where I'd have
- 16:46Speaker 1: to be even thinking about something like that. I get
- 16:48Speaker 1: it hot, just ain't worth it overall right now, Like
- 16:50Speaker 1: for one, if you're buy a lean it's like fucking
- 16:52Speaker 1: three hundred dollars for a couple of lean Like, that's ridiculous,
- 16:55Speaker 1: you know what I mean?
- 16:56Speaker 3: Yeah, when did y'all because you know, when did y'all
- 17:00Speaker 3: get y'all's habits kind of you know where you come from? No,
- 17:04Speaker 3: I'm saying, like, at what point in time did y'all
- 17:05Speaker 3: realize like, yeah, we.
- 17:06Speaker 1: Got For me, it just had to get so far
- 17:08Speaker 1: out of hand that I had to really take a
- 17:09Speaker 1: step back and look what's going on in front of me,
- 17:11Speaker 1: like and what I really wanted to do and which
- 17:13Speaker 1: way I wanted to take, you know what I mean?
- 17:14Speaker 1: It was really another option, but to clean up a bit,
- 17:17Speaker 1: you know what I mean. I got kids and shit too, Bro.
- 17:19Speaker 3: It's an expensive habit. You want to play with your life, and.
- 17:22Speaker 1: I want to be present, you know what I mean.
- 17:23Speaker 1: I don't like feeling like I'm I don't like feeling
- 17:26Speaker 1: like I'm thinking from a third like you know what
- 17:27Speaker 1: I mean, and not knowing what's going on forgetting shit
- 17:29Speaker 1: like No, I like to be present and I like
- 17:31Speaker 1: to be I like clarity.
- 17:32Speaker 3: What about you, Jesu?
- 17:34Speaker 2: I felt like I always pretty much had it, like.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Yeah, he was never you're never too bad.
- 17:38Speaker 2: I feel like I was always trapping and like grinding
- 17:40Speaker 2: it out so much that I couldn't even take time
- 17:43Speaker 2: to enjoy it. Like I was always on top of everything.
- 17:45Speaker 1: We didn't sit drink a couple of times, but he
- 17:47Speaker 1: never had no like, yeah, I was always to move
- 17:49Speaker 1: with that ship.
- 17:50Speaker 3: You were never like fucking depending on the ship. Yeah.
- 17:54Speaker 2: I was always like when we was younger, younger, I
- 17:56Speaker 2: was always selling shit, so I definitely wasn't doing nothing. Yeah,
- 17:59Speaker 2: and then that's like we got into like the party
- 18:01Speaker 2: in stage and fucking the shoreline and everything. I was
- 18:04Speaker 2: just fucking around from time to song.
- 18:06Speaker 1: That's in peace to all you know what I mean.
- 18:07Speaker 1: All the loved ones didn't gone. You know what I mean?
- 18:09Speaker 1: It's crazy people, straight up, it ain't worth it.
- 18:12Speaker 3: Do you guys ever think like, because I feel like
- 18:14Speaker 3: you guys are associated a lot with like perks and
- 18:16Speaker 3: ship obviously, like like your fans obviously have probably grown
- 18:21Speaker 3: with you, but you guys have also grown a lot.
- 18:22Speaker 3: Do you guys ever think back like, damn, we was
- 18:24Speaker 3: really pushing some bullshit, like.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Not really because I feel like we wasn't. We wasn't
- 18:28Speaker 2: thinking about it, like we wasn't trying to push some
- 18:31Speaker 2: shit we were just talking about.
- 18:33Speaker 1: Yeah, it's different.
- 18:34Speaker 2: What's going on around is like there's artists not.
- 18:36Speaker 1: Days that come out and use it as a gimmick,
- 18:38Speaker 1: you know what I mean. We was really rapping, like
- 18:39Speaker 1: what was in front of us, you know what I mean.
- 18:41Speaker 1: So it's not like we were just coming up with
- 18:42Speaker 1: shit to say it and then people.
- 18:44Speaker 2: And I didn't think about the influence at all.
- 18:46Speaker 1: And right, you're not thinking because you guys are kids,
- 18:48Speaker 1: and as we also speak out on it, like you know,
- 18:50Speaker 1: more than a like more than enough, you know what
- 18:52Speaker 1: I mean saying not to.
- 18:53Speaker 3: Do you mentioned that word gimmick. You guys rose out
- 18:56Speaker 3: of an era of just gimmicks for sure.
- 19:00Speaker 2: And I feel like that's apart from everybody, is that
- 19:03Speaker 2: we've never been like our name has never been in
- 19:05Speaker 2: no bullshy, right, We'll need like fucking stunts to fucking Yeah.
- 19:10Speaker 3: It's crazy because y'all were just doing dope ship. You
- 19:12Speaker 3: guys are pretty like low key, you know, in the
- 19:15Speaker 3: group's heyday in the middle of like artists getting signed
- 19:19Speaker 3: based off of Instagram stunts or like there was I
- 19:23Speaker 3: always say that's like the darkest era of the music
- 19:25Speaker 3: industry in terms of hip hop, because motherfuckers were just
- 19:27Speaker 3: getting signed, getting signed just because they that kids. Supreme
- 19:31Speaker 3: Patty had a record deal though by the way, I
- 19:35Speaker 3: think it was three hundred sign um. I don't know,
- 19:38Speaker 3: but yeah, it's like if you think back to that era,
- 19:40Speaker 3: it's like, damn, they were just like they were handing
- 19:41Speaker 3: out fucking money, bro. But it's like, where are those folks? Like,
- 19:44Speaker 3: I think that's what why you guys are able to
- 19:47Speaker 3: sit here, you know, damn near ten years ten years later,
- 19:49Speaker 3: because we were.
- 19:49Speaker 2: Real artists and like we just.
- 19:53Speaker 3: You guys weren't dependent on a gimmick or like some
- 19:56Speaker 3: sort of like stunt to like sell. You know, just
- 20:00Speaker 3: you guys made. The music was good. That's the other thing.
- 20:02Speaker 3: A lot of that ship was garbage.
- 20:04Speaker 1: I said.
- 20:05Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying, like shit, like great music
- 20:07Speaker 3: is timings.
- 20:08Speaker 2: For so yeah, our fucking records are old records, still
- 20:12Speaker 2: keep getting plaques, they keep going double platinum.
- 20:14Speaker 3: Still hear them in the club ship.
- 20:16Speaker 2: This is about to go triple platinum.
- 20:18Speaker 3: Like what's your guys's biggest record sales wise?
- 20:20Speaker 1: I think Major Bends.
- 20:22Speaker 2: I think Major Bends and Musty, those three and I
- 20:24Speaker 2: think they're all going triple platinum if they're not already
- 20:26Speaker 2: triple lating them and just not certified yet.
- 20:28Speaker 3: That is crazy. That last tour you guys went on.
- 20:32Speaker 3: I know I talked to you and you said that
- 20:33Speaker 3: was kind of like what like after that tour, you
- 20:35Speaker 3: guys kind of broke essentially win your ways.
- 20:39Speaker 1: There's too much going.
- 20:39Speaker 2: On to too many people. Too many Like we all
- 20:43Speaker 2: had our own group of friends as well as the group,
- 20:45Speaker 2: so it's like everybody they don't click on the road.
- 20:47Speaker 2: So it's like it's like thirty people involved in like
- 20:50Speaker 2: right really and it'll be all and everyone, a lot
- 20:53Speaker 2: of people, everyone on drugs and getting fucked us. So
- 20:57Speaker 2: it's just like it's just had to be too much
- 20:59Speaker 2: miscommune occasion, too much people in people's ears, like you
- 21:02Speaker 2: feel me, Yeah, So when everybody sucking up backstairs.
- 21:05Speaker 3: You guys have like learned those lessons now, so it's
- 21:08Speaker 3: now when you guys hit the road together, it's gonna
- 21:10Speaker 3: be smooth.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Yeah, very good things.
- 21:13Speaker 2: And we're like just on different type of time and
- 21:15Speaker 2: so like when I hit them up, we're like, bro,
- 21:17Speaker 2: let's do something healthy, center positive. You feel me, like
- 21:20Speaker 2: it's not like let's go fuck around, Let's go do this,
- 21:22Speaker 2: Let's go do that right right.
- 21:23Speaker 1: Right, going for hikes and going to equalox ship like that,
- 21:27Speaker 1: get some marijuon okay, get good ginger shot.
- 21:31Speaker 3: Ginger shots and wheat grasses.
- 21:32Speaker 2: Well this shot all that?
- 21:34Speaker 3: Are you still uh? Do you still have the uh?
- 21:37Speaker 3: The what's the lip gloss you were doing?
- 21:40Speaker 2: I was doing all types of ship you make up
- 21:42Speaker 2: some ship eyelash is all types of doing all that.
- 21:45Speaker 3: No, not really.
- 21:46Speaker 2: I haven't been too involved in my merch, Like I
- 21:49Speaker 2: dropped from time to time, but I'm not involved as
- 21:51Speaker 2: I was because the music just has it's consuming all
- 21:53Speaker 2: my time.
- 21:54Speaker 3: Is your mom still helping you a lot with all that? Yeah?
- 21:55Speaker 2: She do all my merch. She do all the merch
- 21:56Speaker 2: on the road still and she shipping it out.
- 21:59Speaker 3: Yeah. So when you go on the road, your mom
- 22:01Speaker 3: is at the table. That's pretty sick.
- 22:03Speaker 2: I should like she'ld just with us in the club
- 22:05Speaker 2: at Penthouse last night.
- 22:07Speaker 1: She was in the section going to that's the Big Homegirl.
- 22:10Speaker 3: What'd you say? Oh this one? Sorry? That's crazy? Mom
- 22:15Speaker 3: at the strip club? Are you able to like be yourself?
- 22:18Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 22:18Speaker 3: For sure?
- 22:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm turned through regardless. That's all I'm saying. I
- 22:22Speaker 2: never like, I'm not like forced to do drugs, to
- 22:25Speaker 2: drink alcohol because I'm just turned up.
- 22:27Speaker 3: My mom is around, I'm like, but yeah, when.
- 22:31Speaker 2: We're on tours, she keeps me, she kind of keeps
- 22:33Speaker 2: me in check.
- 22:33Speaker 3: You no, I mean, yeah, you got your mama on
- 22:35Speaker 3: the road.
- 22:35Speaker 1: That's great.
- 22:36Speaker 3: Yeah, you ain't gonna do nothing too stupid.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Yeah, nothing too stupid.
- 22:38Speaker 3: Chilling, Yo, How dope is it been? I think to
- 22:42Speaker 3: like the tour you had, the Mexicano t opened on, yeah,
- 22:47Speaker 3: and then like after that ot goes crazy. It feels like,
- 22:49Speaker 3: you know, uh, being a Latin rapper these days is not.
- 22:55Speaker 3: It used to be like a thing you had to
- 22:57Speaker 3: kind of like a mountain. You had to get over.
- 22:59Speaker 1: There to get it for sure.
- 23:01Speaker 2: Now it's like a think about think about how many
- 23:03Speaker 2: critics there was when I came out, Like and not
- 23:05Speaker 2: even just because I'm not regularly looking hispanics, Like when
- 23:07Speaker 2: I first came out, exactly people, there's a lot of
- 23:11Speaker 2: people's first time seeing me, right, Yeah, I think I
- 23:14Speaker 2: for sure thought your music was just so good and
- 23:16Speaker 2: you can I thought you were a median or white,
- 23:18Speaker 2: and you could tell, like by the way I speak it,
- 23:20Speaker 2: anything I'm talking about in the way I talk about it,
- 23:23Speaker 2: like it's authentic, right, just had to respect it.
- 23:25Speaker 3: But how cool has it been to just watch the
- 23:27Speaker 3: whole scene?
- 23:28Speaker 2: Kind of that's amazing. We just had We just had
- 23:30Speaker 2: paced on brother in the club with us last night,
- 23:31Speaker 2: so I left.
- 23:32Speaker 3: Was sucking on a balloon. Jesus Christ. He came to
- 23:36Speaker 3: the studio the other night with Alexus. Motherfucker looked like
- 23:38Speaker 3: he was about to go to a kid's birthday party.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Balloons and everybody on the balloons, anybody else see something
- 23:45Speaker 2: doing that? Something not doing sip.
- 23:47Speaker 3: Like like what are we doing? Fucking your brain up?
- 23:51Speaker 3: It's the craziest. Like I just wonder how long it's
- 23:54Speaker 3: gonna go before they're like.
- 23:55Speaker 1: Just been going on for fucking ever though, Like I
- 23:57Speaker 1: was at the.

- 24:07Speaker 1: just go to the fucking smoke shop and grab that
- 24:09Speaker 1: ship is not.
- 24:10Speaker 3: And it's flavored. Yeah, Like why are we doing It's
- 24:13Speaker 3: obvious what.
- 24:13Speaker 1: It's for, right, it's for with cream.

- 24:19Speaker 3: diabolical man for sure. Yeah. Shout out to Bravo though
- 24:22Speaker 3: Bravo Also Bravo is also one of the ones too
- 24:25Speaker 3: who I feel like doesn't get enough love in terms of.
- 24:27Speaker 1: Just you don't have to have to see it, you know.
- 24:29Speaker 1: I played a big part of that, you know what
- 24:31Speaker 1: I mean back then when he only had like shh. Yeah,
- 24:33Speaker 1: they've been doing like two together and Forever did a
- 24:37Speaker 1: project with him and he only had like twenty twenty
- 24:38Speaker 1: five hundred followers. I've been fucked with bro music.

- 25:50Speaker 3: just happened that way?
- 25:51Speaker 1: Yeah, so that people could really see and understand like
- 25:54Speaker 1: we that like this that.
- 25:56Speaker 2: And we didn't want to know and to be like,
- 25:57Speaker 2: you guys have big features. So that's why y'all popping in. Yeah,

- 26:27Speaker 1: Right now, it's like he's breast head Like right now
- 26:28Speaker 1: we kind of fully dialed down with the group with
- 26:31Speaker 1: the what we got going on in front of us
- 26:33Speaker 1: right now. But uh yeah, we're definitely working on our
- 26:35Speaker 1: own endeavors still.
- 26:36Speaker 3: Sure Geze, I had this conversation with somebody recently. We're
- 26:39Speaker 3: talking about the greatest Mexican rappers of all time in
- 26:42Speaker 3: terms of just success and influence, and uh, you're like
- 26:47Speaker 3: on the motherfucking Mount Rushmore dog Like, it's like it's you,
- 26:53Speaker 3: it's Cypress Hillo.
- 27:01Speaker 2: I think Cyrus Cuban.
- 27:03Speaker 3: I don't know, Rory might know. He's a I think
- 27:05Speaker 3: the Cuban or something, Cyper Cuban.
- 27:07Speaker 2: I don't think they're Mexican. Yeah, he'll be basically Mexican
- 27:11Speaker 2: burner to burn, But in terms of like, Bro, I
- 27:14Speaker 2: just I don't.
- 27:15Speaker 3: I mean, you might be the goat when it comes
- 27:17Speaker 3: to the Mexican rappers.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Bro, I feel like it. I feel I feel like
- 27:23Speaker 2: we influenced so many like and especially we influenced the Mexicans.
- 27:27Speaker 2: It's not even rappers, just how we like arrested Pluma
- 27:31Speaker 2: and all the cord Thos guys like these fools dressed
- 27:35Speaker 2: like you.
- 27:35Speaker 1: To see the love that we get from that from
- 27:37Speaker 1: that crowd too, you know.
- 27:39Speaker 3: Yeah, it's funny because there was that whole Cordino's way
- 27:41Speaker 3: that started popping. Wants to do his name, I'm a
- 27:43Speaker 3: mispronounce his name because I'm just gonna readly. I know
- 27:45Speaker 3: it's Nathaniel Cano, but I know that that's not how
- 27:47Speaker 3: you say it. Yeah nothing, Yeah, but that motherfucker was
- 27:50Speaker 3: dressed like he was in Shortline Mafia Whole Double Cups
- 27:54Speaker 3: in like two thousand and Like.
- 27:55Speaker 2: We we really we really like inspired a lot of
- 27:58Speaker 2: people like you when you hip hop, and I think
- 28:01Speaker 2: that's what's beautiful about Like when we started.
- 28:03Speaker 3: When you guys you got to link up with JLP
- 28:05Speaker 3: and ship, did he give you guys love?
- 28:06Speaker 2: Yeah, Jafp's been showing love like someone had told me
- 28:10Speaker 2: to check out his page because they been he had
- 28:13Speaker 2: been following me for a minute. I didn't even know
- 28:15Speaker 2: who he was. And then, uh, and I'm not talking
- 28:17Speaker 2: about right now, I'm talking about years ago. So they're like, Bro,
- 28:20Speaker 2: he's always playing your music. He's like next to do
- 28:22Speaker 2: this shit. So I've been following JAILV for a minute.
- 28:25Speaker 1: I remember Barber Hector. I think it was twenty nineteen.
- 28:27Speaker 1: He had got a FaceTime with Bro. He was put
- 28:29Speaker 1: in my face time with me. He was telling me
- 28:30Speaker 1: he fucked our citing shit back then.
- 28:32Speaker 3: Yeah, what they got going is crazy. Yeah, you really
- 28:34Speaker 3: don't feel like obviously I'm not. I know some of
- 28:38Speaker 3: the music, but it's not like I'm fucking old white.
- 28:41Speaker 3: You know what. I remember going to that show in Vegas.
- 28:46Speaker 3: I took I took Mexicano tea to meet him, you know,
- 28:49Speaker 3: and uh, they sold out the Tmobile arena and that
- 28:51Speaker 3: ship was lit. I was like, God, it's crazy.
- 28:54Speaker 2: I let us see it. I let to see everybody
- 28:56Speaker 2: winning like fat for sure.
- 28:58Speaker 3: And now all these labels are like thirsty to sign Mexican.
- 29:02Speaker 1: Yeah it's a thing right now.
- 29:03Speaker 3: Yeah, where would you guys put like obviously man you know,
- 29:06Speaker 3: shot shot too many science Swaye who obviously passed away before.
- 29:09Speaker 1: His time recipe, I got him tatted on me right here.
- 29:12Speaker 3: He was somebody who you know also was very much
- 29:15Speaker 3: ahead his time.
- 29:16Speaker 1: He's also that was my boy for real. I brought
- 29:18Speaker 1: him on his first tour. Yeah.
- 29:20Speaker 3: Well, I mean, can you guys talk about just kind
- 29:22Speaker 3: of him as an artist and and like, you know,
- 29:24Speaker 3: I feel like his legacy was cut short.
- 29:26Speaker 1: No, definitely, he was different, Bro. Like his sound and
- 29:28Speaker 1: everything it was it was dope. It was so dope
- 29:30Speaker 1: to see it because it was so original. He didn't
- 29:32Speaker 1: sound like nobody else that was out. He wasn't like
- 29:34Speaker 1: kind of getting behind anybody else, you know what I mean.
- 29:37Speaker 1: He was really like coming and coming with shit that
- 29:40Speaker 1: like I sound nobody's ever heard before, you know what
- 29:41Speaker 1: I mean, right from everything to the dancing, the way
- 29:44Speaker 1: he dressed, to his music. You know what I mean? Bro,
- 29:46Speaker 1: is really that resting piece of hommy for real.
- 29:48Speaker 2: I never I never got to meet him, but uh
- 29:51Speaker 2: but I know Phoenix rocked with him. I know a
- 29:53Speaker 2: bunch of my people used to listen to his music
- 29:55Speaker 2: and shit, so I used to I ended up listening
- 29:56Speaker 2: to the ship.
- 29:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I saw the video of him and y'll just
- 30:00Speaker 3: like got posted like probably but one of the last videos.
- 30:03Speaker 3: I'm like, damn, what such a sad situation.

- 30:07Speaker 3: Man, what what what? What's are you guys so in
- 30:10Speaker 3: contact when any of the other guys used to be around?

- 30:16Speaker 3: I know you guys are the two guys, you know
- 30:17Speaker 3: what I'm saying.
- 30:18Speaker 1: I gotta feel like we both got like a whole
- 30:20Speaker 1: I mean, we got like our day one homies. Of course,
- 30:23Speaker 1: that's like our homies from high school and ship are
- 30:25Speaker 1: still there, you know what I mean? And we did.
- 30:27Speaker 1: You guys go to high school together, no, like within
- 30:31Speaker 1: a couple of miles up from each other, because you're
- 30:33Speaker 1: from Hollywood. Where you from Hollywood grew up for the
- 30:36Speaker 1: he went to Marshall Yeah okay, and then uh I
- 30:39Speaker 1: bounced around though. You know what I'm saying, East Hollywood
- 30:42Speaker 1: is like fucking gnarly b Yeah. People don't understand that.

- 30:47Speaker 1: Comments people like are they from like all right, come
- 30:50Speaker 1: down here, just walk down the block or something.
- 30:52Speaker 2: You know. East Hollywood is griary, Yeah, like you'd be driving,
- 30:56Speaker 2: but I like it. I think that's what made this difference,
- 30:58Speaker 2: because you could be in the all that and then
- 31:00Speaker 2: you go to Hollywood Boulevard. Sure it's right there.
- 31:03Speaker 3: Yeah, to Hollywood High.
- 31:05Speaker 1: We had fun. I ain't gonna lie. Growing up, we

- 31:16Speaker 2: Yeah, there's so much shit to do, so much.
- 31:18Speaker 3: It's like like I had, like I lived in Vegas forever,
- 31:21Speaker 3: and all my homies who grew up there, they're like, bro,
- 31:22Speaker 3: you understand, like the money we get off these tourists.
- 31:25Speaker 2: For sure. That's how I was trapping it out over there.

- 31:44Speaker 3: sell CDs.
- 31:45Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 31:46Speaker 3: And I'm like yeah, and shout out to my son
- 31:49Speaker 3: was a real piece of ship because we were walking.
- 31:50Speaker 3: We went to U David Busters recently, the other one
- 31:54Speaker 3: right there, and my son's a dick, and he like
- 31:56Speaker 3: goes up to the rappers. He's like, hey, right there,
- 31:59Speaker 3: that's crazy. Dude tries to bring me and see, I'm like, buddy,
- 32:04Speaker 3: i'ma be honest with you. I don't know what I'm
- 32:05Speaker 3: gonna do with this.
- 32:06Speaker 1: I got a TD player.
- 32:07Speaker 3: Where am I supposed to play it at? It's just
- 32:11Speaker 3: a while.
- 32:12Speaker 2: Uh.
- 32:12Speaker 3: You gotta have a certain type of resilience to be
- 32:14Speaker 3: like I'm gonna stand on this street.
- 32:16Speaker 1: And trap these CDs out.
- 32:17Speaker 2: I think they more so trying to get bread music.
- 32:21Speaker 3: Right. The crazy ship is how fucking how offended and

- 33:28Speaker 1: of them.
- 33:28Speaker 3: That's big man.
- 33:30Speaker 1: That ship three six Mafia. They played a big part,
- 33:32Speaker 1: and you know musically, you know what I mean, we
- 33:33Speaker 1: both listened to them growing up, and uh even like
- 33:36Speaker 1: with the name. It was coming up with a name
- 33:37Speaker 1: that'special one of the things that was like, you know, I.
- 33:39Speaker 3: Mean, they also kind of were like early in the
- 33:41Speaker 3: drug ship too. They're the first motherfuckers I remember rapping
- 33:44Speaker 3: about syrup and like certain tales and.
- 33:45Speaker 2: Ship and that's that's where you can hear the inspiration of.
- 33:50Speaker 1: Her nose up full of that dust grade.

- 35:00Speaker 2: gotta start a label, bro.
- 35:02Speaker 1: Yeah do you.
- 35:05Speaker 3: What do you guys think you could provide to the
- 35:07Speaker 3: marketplace that's missing because y'all been through so much yourself.
- 35:10Speaker 2: Just like I feel like, just like a guy whoever
- 35:12Speaker 2: we signed the right way and just just make their
- 35:15Speaker 2: career go to real gas. They're like, you can avoid
- 35:18Speaker 2: so much bullshit with the game that we have, Like.
- 35:20Speaker 1: And I feel like we're like one of the few
- 35:22Speaker 1: West Coast artists who really got like shows and tor
- 35:24Speaker 1: and down pack. So it would be cool to like
- 35:26Speaker 1: show show like how to really do that ship?
