- 0:04Speaker 1: Come on, Uh huh, I sure will. Good morning, everybody.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Are you listening to the voice? Come on, dig me now,
- 0:17Speaker 1: one and only Steve Harvey got a radio show. Okay,
- 0:22Speaker 1: I got something for you today. I'm gonna have a
- 0:28Speaker 1: conversation this morning about my understanding of grace now that
- 0:33Speaker 1: I've gotten older and I've come into a better understanding
- 0:37Speaker 1: of a lot of things I didn't know about when
- 0:39Speaker 1: I was younger. This is just my interpretation of grace.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Now once again, y'all listen to me. I ain't nobody's pastor,
- 0:50Speaker 1: I ain't nobody's minister. So you know, I'm pretty sure
- 0:53Speaker 1: you can go to church and get a far more
- 0:56Speaker 1: extensive definition of one I'm giving you. I'm just talking
- 0:59Speaker 1: to people.
- 1:00Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Grace is this thing that God provides for us, and
- 1:09Speaker 1: grace is just things that you get that's really undeserving,
- 1:14Speaker 1: you know. I mean, I look at my life as
- 1:16Speaker 1: it is today and now, look, I work hard and
- 1:19Speaker 1: I have faith in God that I do so things
- 1:22Speaker 1: are going to happen in my life. But the way
- 1:24Speaker 1: my life is now, I don't don't. I don't deserve
- 1:28Speaker 1: all of this.
- 1:29Speaker 2: I don't. I don't.
- 1:30Speaker 1: I don't look at it that way. I have been
- 1:32Speaker 1: the beneficiary of God's grace. I have aligned myself in
- 1:37Speaker 1: a position to accept whatever grace God has for me,
- 1:43Speaker 1: and it will be far abundant and exceedingly in anything
- 1:48Speaker 1: you could think of. His grace supersedes anything you could
- 1:53Speaker 1: possibly imagine. You know, the goals that I set, and
- 1:56Speaker 1: the aspirations that I shoot for, and the things that
- 1:58Speaker 1: I have on my dream I have the faith that
- 2:01Speaker 1: God will give it to me. But what He does
- 2:03Speaker 1: with grace, he gives you far more than that. He
- 2:06Speaker 1: gives you what He has for you, not what you
- 2:10Speaker 1: can see. You can't see all He has for you.
- 2:13Speaker 1: It's impossible.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Who are you?
- 2:14Speaker 1: How can you possibly imagine what he can imagine? How
- 2:18Speaker 1: can you possibly think how he can think? How can
- 2:20Speaker 1: you possibly do what he can do? How can it
- 2:23Speaker 1: be that isn't a single mind living or a collection
- 2:27Speaker 1: of minds that could have thought of Earth? What in
- 2:31Speaker 1: your wildest imagination could have made you think of Earth?
- 2:35Speaker 1: The stars, the heavens, the oceans, the galaxy, the constellations?
- 2:41Speaker 2: What in your mind? What in any man's mind?
- 2:45Speaker 1: We can point at it and analyze it, but we
- 2:47Speaker 1: show couldn't have thought of it. So come on, now,
- 2:51Speaker 1: I'm talking about lining yourself up with God's grace, which
- 2:56Speaker 1: he will give.
- 2:57Speaker 2: To you if you.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Want some of it now. But now here's the thing
- 3:01Speaker 1: about grace. It can't be bought. If it could be bought,
- 3:05Speaker 1: I'm telling you, I would pull all the money I
- 3:09Speaker 1: have and dump it into grace, because, after discovering what
- 3:13Speaker 1: it is, it's this goodness that God shines on you
- 3:19Speaker 1: simply as a reward of some type for His love
- 3:23Speaker 1: for you and for you attempting, for you attempting to
- 3:29Speaker 1: do right.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Not because you get it right.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Because if He judged us purely on how we are
- 3:34Speaker 1: the right and wrong of it, we would all be doomed,
- 3:37Speaker 1: all of us, every last one of us would be
- 3:41Speaker 1: doomed because we all fall short, we all make mistakes,
- 3:46Speaker 1: we all sin, we all get.
- 3:48Speaker 2: It wrong from time to time. Nobody's perfect.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Man. Now I understand what my mother was saying about
- 3:55Speaker 1: cleaning the house. All I want is a little more grace.
- 3:59Speaker 1: All I need is a little more grace when the
- 4:02Speaker 1: last time you ask God for some grace. Now I'm
- 4:05Speaker 1: not talking to you like I know everything.
- 4:08Speaker 2: If you just.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Benefit from His grace, what you already have, But if
- 4:12Speaker 1: you're not aware of it, you don't know what's going on.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Become aware of grace, Get aware of the fact that
- 4:19Speaker 1: God does things for you simply because He loves you.
- 4:22Speaker 1: He does things for you that you don't even deserve. Somehow,
- 4:26Speaker 1: you just wonder how you just got over when you
- 4:29Speaker 1: didn't even do the things to get over. Sometimes you
- 4:33Speaker 1: don't even know how you got that job you got
- 4:35Speaker 1: when you ain't even really do the things to get
- 4:38Speaker 1: your job. How you end up where you are all
- 4:40Speaker 1: the education you thought you went and got, and hey,
- 4:43Speaker 1: how you end up where you are today in a
- 4:45Speaker 1: much better position than your education could have ever gotten you.
- 4:49Speaker 2: That's grace.
- 4:51Speaker 1: How I get every place I am today. I didn't
- 4:54Speaker 1: plan this, Man. If I could have planned my life
- 4:56Speaker 1: the way it is, don't you know, I'd have done
- 4:58Speaker 1: it when I was living in that car, if I
- 5:00Speaker 1: knew how to do it.
- 5:01Speaker 2: No, I've benefited from his grace.
- 5:04Speaker 1: I'm just a beneficiary of his grace, of his goodness
- 5:09Speaker 1: and his mercy. God's goodness is better than your goodness.
- 5:14Speaker 1: God's goodness is better than your mother's goodness. It's better
- 5:17Speaker 1: than your wife's or your husband or your Boo's goodness,
- 5:20Speaker 1: God's goodness is different. His goodness, man covers some stuff
- 5:25Speaker 1: you can't even imagine. So why are you trying to
- 5:29Speaker 1: put your life together when the last time you asked
- 5:32Speaker 1: him for just a little bit of grace? When have
- 5:36Speaker 1: you thought of your life in terms of the grace
- 5:39Speaker 1: that it has already benefited from?
- 5:42Speaker 2: Have you ever done that? Man?
- 5:44Speaker 1: Just thought about you know you hear songs like my soul,
- 5:47Speaker 1: look back and wonder how I got over?
- 5:49Speaker 2: That was grace.
- 5:50Speaker 1: That's all I can call it. Now, Like I said,
- 5:52Speaker 1: you can go to church or somewherever you want to,
- 5:54Speaker 1: and ministers at the window at school to teach this
- 5:57Speaker 1: thing way better than me. I'm just giving you from
- 5:59Speaker 1: a layman standpoint, Man, have you thought about his grace?
- 6:03Speaker 1: Would you not bewall to be a beneficiary of his grace?
- 6:07Speaker 2: Would it not?
- 6:08Speaker 1: Certain?
- 6:08Speaker 2: Now? Check this out.
- 6:10Speaker 1: The better you try to do, the more grace he'll
- 6:13Speaker 1: give to you. Now that grace can't be bought, Like
- 6:16Speaker 1: I said, it's free. You can't purchase grace. But the
- 6:21Speaker 1: better you try to become the more the more grace
- 6:23Speaker 1: he gets to put your way. So, man, just try
- 6:28Speaker 1: why don't you just try to do better? Look, man,
- 6:31Speaker 1: quit talking about it. I'm gonna start next week. I'm
- 6:33Speaker 1: gonna start at the new year, now you not, Yeah,
- 6:35Speaker 1: you do that every year ever at the new year.
- 6:38Speaker 1: I wanna eat better at the new year. I'm na.
- 6:40Speaker 1: I'm gonna go and get in here and the new year.
- 6:42Speaker 1: If you're gonna do it, you're gonna do it now.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Man, you're gonna do it.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Nothing. Stop trying do something. Do it, Stop talking about it,
- 6:51Speaker 1: do it now. The best way to benefit from his
- 6:54Speaker 1: grace is starting action now, n o W now, right
- 7:01Speaker 1: now today, what you waiting on, all you doing is
- 7:04Speaker 1: delaying his opportunity to bless you.
- 7:08Speaker 2: You know, man, you know? Do you know how many
- 7:10Speaker 2: times we do that?
- 7:11Speaker 1: We delay his opportunity to bless us by not starting now.
- 7:15Speaker 2: If you gonna get healthy, why don't you start now?
- 7:18Speaker 1: Now. You're gonna trip a little bit because the holiday's coming,
- 7:21Speaker 1: But you ain't got to eat bad all the time.
- 7:23Speaker 1: You could start eating correct today you could. You could,
- 7:28Speaker 1: and then guess what, there could be some grace on
- 7:30Speaker 1: the end of that. I'm just giving you a little
- 7:32Speaker 1: cheap analogy. But do you feel what I'm saying to you,
- 7:36Speaker 1: start thinking in terms of grace.
- 7:38Speaker 2: What he has done for you and provided for you
- 7:40Speaker 2: that you ain't even see coming.
- 7:42Speaker 1: That you know, you keep calling them blessings, and I
- 7:44Speaker 1: got that a lot of it OUs all it is,
- 7:46Speaker 1: But man, have you thought about the stuff that didn't
- 7:48Speaker 1: happen to you you can't account for. For me, that's
- 7:53Speaker 1: been grace and I'm beneficiary of it. And that's available
- 7:57Speaker 1: to everybody that won't sung. Next time you talking to him,
- 8:00Speaker 1: just check in with grace. See what that is. That's
- 8:03Speaker 1: that's better than money.
- 8:05Speaker 2: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
