No Hands
After school, Dudley Floyd and Mitchell Haywood ride around Coffman’s Landing for no reason better than wanting to stay on their bicycles.
Dudley has a cousin’s old bicycle with a long banana seat. Mitchell has a red bicycle he got for Christmas. Each is certain his is better.
Then Dudley takes his hands off the handlebars, and an ordinary ride becomes a contest. By the time they reach the Corner Market, Dudley is telling Mitchell that his cousin once rode the whole Main Street hill on one wheel—all the way down to the Minnow Bucket.
