Transcript
- 0:07Speaker 1: Music often comes from a very deep and personal place.
- 0:11Speaker 1: People express emotions, dreams, and pain from their lives, frequently
- 0:16Speaker 1: drawing upon experiences that bring their lyrics and performances to life.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Robert Camu tried to do just that one evening when
- 0:24Speaker 1: at an open mic, he freestyle wrapped something that would
- 0:28Speaker 1: drop the jaws of those around him. His song wasn't
- 0:32Speaker 1: about struggles, though, or life lessons. Robert instead chose to
- 0:37Speaker 1: rap about killing and burying his girlfriend, Amanda Custer, who
- 0:42Speaker 1: was a missing person. My name is Ben, I'm.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Nicole, and you're listening to Wicked and.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Grim, a true crime podcast.
- 0:53Speaker 2: The following.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Material intended for a mature audience. Listener discuss.
- 1:23Speaker 2: That was like a little bit piercing into the ears.
- 1:26Speaker 1: The smell just immediately hit my nose and oh my god,
- 1:29Speaker 1: it smells good. Oh and it tastes good too. So good.
- 1:36Speaker 1: How's it going everyone? Thank you for coming back once again.
- 1:39Speaker 1: You guys are incredible as always. I didn't make any
- 1:44Speaker 1: notes of anything we have to talk about prior to
- 1:46Speaker 1: Do you have anything you want to discuss?
- 1:47Speaker 2: Oh boy, we're waiting it.
- 1:49Speaker 1: We're winging it today. Apparently I can start by thanking
- 1:52Speaker 1: our patrons, because I mean, they're pretty awesome, So let's
- 1:55Speaker 1: do that. We had a couple of amazing people sign
- 1:57Speaker 1: up for a Patreon this week. If you want to
- 1:58Speaker 1: get the exclusive content, you can do the same thing.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Link is down below. So those that did sign up
- 2:04Speaker 1: this week, we have Alex Homie, Lucy Elliott, Marine, Curtin,
- 2:08Speaker 1: Christy J. Lawson. You guys are incredible. Thanks so much
- 2:12Speaker 1: for supporting us.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Yeah, that's freaking awesome.
- 2:14Speaker 1: It is means a lot. They get that extra content,
- 2:17Speaker 1: the extra episode at the end of the month, and
- 2:19Speaker 1: they even just recommended a case to us that I
- 2:22Speaker 1: am doing a deep dive into here. Just ordered a
- 2:25Speaker 1: book that I'm going to do a read on. So yes,
- 2:27Speaker 1: that case is coming up in the in a few
- 2:29Speaker 1: weeks when I get all that research done.
- 2:31Speaker 2: That's awesome.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Yeah, it is awesome. I just I'm sitting right beside
- 2:36Speaker 1: our stove here in the tiny home, and it is
- 2:39Speaker 1: still really really warm because I just made a bunch.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Of it's hard. You know when I say that it's
- 2:44Speaker 2: fucking hot.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Well, I think it's like twenty five celsius in here
- 2:47Speaker 1: right now, which is absurd. Ye, so we might be
- 2:49Speaker 1: sweating through this podcast just saying that. But yeah, I'm
- 2:53Speaker 1: sitting right next to the stove. But yeah, bread, it'll
- 2:57Speaker 1: be delicious. It's going to make for an awesome breakfast
- 2:59Speaker 1: the night.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Mm hmm. I actually think I want to learn. I'm
- 3:02Speaker 2: ready to learn to make sour though, are you. Yeah.
- 3:05Speaker 2: I don't know why I've taken up my sweet time,
- 3:08Speaker 2: but I'm ready.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Okay, Well, I will take you on as my apprentice.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Welcome to the dark side.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I'm honestly most interested. I feel like in
- 3:18Speaker 2: using the discard for other things.
- 3:21Speaker 1: You can do a lot with discard. Yeah, so, which
- 3:25Speaker 1: I never do, And once in a while I'll do
- 3:26Speaker 1: like I call them discard pancakes.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Pancakes for the chickens.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Yes, I just fra up the discard in a pan
- 3:33Speaker 1: and just give it to the chickens, which we you
- 3:35Speaker 1: can add a little salt or cheese and scallions on top,
- 3:38Speaker 1: and yeah, got yourself a little little breakfast thing going too.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know. I like Pinterest, and I see
- 3:45Speaker 2: a lot of shit you can do with discards.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Well, let's uh discard all these pre topics and get
- 3:52Speaker 1: to the case, shall we.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Wow, that was smooth. Was it that was terrible?
- 3:58Speaker 1: Okay? I thought it was pretty puney myself.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Oh boy, it just gets worse.
- 4:05Speaker 1: It always gets worse with this show. Let's let's just
- 4:07Speaker 1: be honest, okay. So today we're doing a case one
- 4:11Speaker 1: that's been on my list for a little while. It
- 4:12Speaker 1: is a relatively more recent event. It has occurred in
- 4:17Speaker 1: twenty nineteen. It involves a woman by the name of
- 4:22Speaker 1: Amanda Kathleen Custer and her boyfriend, Robert.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Camou right before the world changed.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Yeah, right on the cusp of that good old COVID. Yeah,
- 4:32Speaker 1: so yeah, you ready for this one?
- 4:34Speaker 2: I am. Let's do her.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Okay. Well, today we are covering the story of the
- 4:38Speaker 1: missing woman, like I said, named Amanda Kathleen Custer. There
- 4:42Speaker 1: isn't a whole lot of coverage out there on this case,
- 4:44Speaker 1: which is a shame to say the least, and to
- 4:46Speaker 1: make matters worse, when you do look up her story online,
- 4:50Speaker 1: you'll find much more information regarding her boyfriend. Usually her
- 4:54Speaker 1: is the one responsible for what happened to her. So
- 5:00Speaker 1: that's unfortunate, some bullshit it is. And like, we are
- 5:03Speaker 1: firm believers in trying to tell the victim story whenever
- 5:07Speaker 1: we can more often than not. So that's exactly what
- 5:09Speaker 1: I'm going to be trying to do here with the
- 5:11Speaker 1: little information that I do have. So while we tell
- 5:15Speaker 1: her story, we're going to be talking about the perpetrator
- 5:17Speaker 1: as well. But keep that in mind. This is Amanda's story,
- 5:22Speaker 1: and if you can help provide any information in recovering Amanda,
- 5:26Speaker 1: please contact authorities. Okay, laying that out there right now,
- 5:30Speaker 1: because she still is missing right now.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Oh shit, Yes, that was like the way that you
- 5:36Speaker 2: went to vote. That was kind of I don't know,
- 5:40Speaker 2: fuck with me for some reason. I don't know why.
- 5:42Speaker 2: I just wasn't expecting that expecting it.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Okay, Well, I really wanted to lay this home. She
- 5:48Speaker 1: is a current missing person.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Dang Okay, okay, okay.
- 5:53Speaker 1: So Amanda was born on April twenty eighth, nineteen eighty eight,
- 5:56Speaker 1: same month and year's my birthday. So she from Bakersfield
- 6:01Speaker 1: but was living in Monrovia, California. Now, I don't know
- 6:06Speaker 1: much about the kind of person that Amanda was, and
- 6:08Speaker 1: I don't want to create false images while talking about
- 6:11Speaker 1: her either, But what I do know is that she
- 6:13Speaker 1: was a person who's trying to do her best and
- 6:16Speaker 1: better herself now. The available public posts on her Facebook
- 6:20Speaker 1: profile don't tell us very much, but there are two
- 6:24Speaker 1: pictures in particular that do stand out to me, and
- 6:27Speaker 1: they're ones of her standing next to a young boy
- 6:31Speaker 1: who would presumes her son. They seem very very lovingly together,
- 6:35Speaker 1: and in the comments on one of those photos, Amanda
- 6:38Speaker 1: had written this as a comment quote, he is an
- 6:42Speaker 1: Idaho with my parents now, but I'm not giving up.
- 6:46Speaker 1: He is in good hands and I'm thankful for that.
- 6:49Speaker 1: I'm going to get it right and be the best
- 6:51Speaker 1: for him so I can give him the best life
- 6:53Speaker 1: he deserves. That was my last visit with him before
- 6:57Speaker 1: they left. Okay, so she is I mean, it seems
- 7:02Speaker 1: to me a struggling mother who just wanted nothing more
- 7:06Speaker 1: to better herself so she could provide better for her son. Yeah,
- 7:09Speaker 1: assuming that is her son. I mean, it's pretty obvious
- 7:13Speaker 1: it is, but it doesn't actually explicitly say so. I
- 7:15Speaker 1: just don't want to say one hundred percent, you know
- 7:18Speaker 1: what I mean.
- 7:18Speaker 2: So that makes this even harder though, the fact that
- 7:22Speaker 2: she was a parent, you know, a mom.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Yeah, And I mean I think again, judging by what
- 7:28Speaker 1: little information we do have, she seems like she's being
- 7:30Speaker 1: a single parent, so I don't think the father is
- 7:34Speaker 1: in the picture. Otherwise, why wouldn't he have the child
- 7:36Speaker 1: as well rather than like you know, right, So, her
- 7:40Speaker 1: parents looking after her son, don't know where the dad is,
- 7:43Speaker 1: and she is just looking forward to when she is
- 7:45Speaker 1: capable of having him back with her. Yep. So now.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Her Facebook page also shows that she was pursuing further
- 7:54Speaker 1: education by studying at Lyle's College of Beauty. She also
- 7:59Speaker 1: posted another picture that showed a book that was given
- 8:02Speaker 1: to her by her parents, and the book was called
- 8:05Speaker 1: The Rock, the Bible for Making Right Choices.
- 8:08Speaker 2: Hmm. Wow, that's quite a title, right, I haven't heard
- 8:12Speaker 2: of that book.
- 8:13Speaker 1: It's one that I think I might want to look
- 8:15Speaker 1: up and give it a read, if I'm.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Being honest, I mean, I don't think it could hurt anyone.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Yeah, but to Shae to sche we can all use
- 8:22Speaker 1: little bit of guidance for making the right choices from
- 8:24Speaker 1: time to time. And again, just hammering that home she
- 8:28Speaker 1: was trying to better herself. I don't know if there's
- 8:30Speaker 1: much more proof that would need to really prove that
- 8:33Speaker 1: seeking further education. She's got a book on it, and
- 8:35Speaker 1: she's made a post about what she wants to achieve
- 8:38Speaker 1: goals for her son.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, well, I mean also with that book. Decisions
- 8:44Speaker 2: are hard.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Oh, they definitely are hard.
- 8:46Speaker 2: Making decisions sometimes, like being an adult kind of sucks.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Sometimes, well, especially when those decisions are not just going
- 8:52Speaker 1: to impact you.
- 8:53Speaker 2: Yeah, you have someone who's.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Relying on you, and your decisions are going to impact
- 8:57Speaker 1: down that line. Right, So it's definitely a big part
- 9:00Speaker 1: in everyone's life, and even more so potentially when you
- 9:03Speaker 1: are a parent, especially to a young child. So apart
- 9:06Speaker 1: from that, Amanda's personal life has been kept well just
- 9:09Speaker 1: that personal right. She was, however, in a relationship dating
- 9:13Speaker 1: an individual kind of on and off for at least
- 9:17Speaker 1: about two years, and that's according to Lieutenant Scott Hogland
- 9:20Speaker 1: of the La County Sheriff's Department, and according to him,
- 9:25Speaker 1: their relationship wasn't exactly a good and healthy one. According
- 9:28Speaker 1: to a press statement he made, he said, quote, there
- 9:32Speaker 1: have been numerous domestic violence incidences between them, which is
- 9:37Speaker 1: not good.
- 9:38Speaker 2: No, I freaking hate that. That's terrible.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Yeah, And the individual she was involved with was a
- 9:43Speaker 1: man by the name of Robert Camu.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Robert Camu Camu.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Camo c Amou. I'm pretty sure it's Camu, But either way,
- 9:53Speaker 1: I don't really care about Well, yeah, name correctly either
- 9:55Speaker 1: so I think.
- 9:56Speaker 2: He's he's not the fan or we're not a fan him.
- 10:00Speaker 1: No, we definitely are not a fan of Robert now.
- 10:04Speaker 1: According to Robert's Facebook page, Robert attended the State University
- 10:08Speaker 1: in Los Angeles, where he studied communications. His page seems
- 10:12Speaker 1: to be a rather boastful one, where he posts often
- 10:17Speaker 1: about his achievements or praises that he's gained, such as
- 10:20Speaker 1: he worked as a quote wildland firefighter at the United
- 10:23Speaker 1: States Forest Service. His LinkedIn page states that he is
- 10:26Speaker 1: an quote aspiring project manager seeking employments to gain the
- 10:30Speaker 1: hourly experience for the PMI PMP, which is a project
- 10:35Speaker 1: professional test, and also reads quote, I have high standards
- 10:40Speaker 1: of excellence and am a hard working, dedicated individual with
- 10:44Speaker 1: a commitment to self improvement through using my skills to
- 10:47Speaker 1: actualize my talents. I love life and I'm looking forward
- 10:51Speaker 1: to the future. In various locations, he has written that he.
- 10:57Speaker 2: So.
- 10:57Speaker 1: In various locations, he's written multiple different things. He's written
- 11:00Speaker 1: that he was an intern for the campus newspaper, underwent
- 11:03Speaker 1: police and fire agility training, made the Dean's List and
- 11:08Speaker 1: was awarded into scholarship for teacher preparation and urban learning.
- 11:14Speaker 1: He was on a forensics and debate team at a
- 11:17Speaker 1: city college in Los Angeles, Los Angeles, Los Angeles. I've
- 11:22Speaker 1: heard it pronounced like that before, Los Angeles. Some people
- 11:24Speaker 1: do like that. It's okay, don't don't at me.
- 11:27Speaker 2: I do.
- 11:28Speaker 1: I heard that little huff under your breath. It was there.
- 11:33Speaker 2: Is that what he did?
- 11:35Speaker 1: He had listed five different colleges that he had claimed
- 11:39Speaker 1: to have attended, studying everything from forestry to business administration.
- 11:43Speaker 1: He claims to have competed, completed sorry high school early,
- 11:48Speaker 1: and to top it all off with a nice little
- 11:50Speaker 1: cherry to it, he also claimed to be a professional
- 11:52Speaker 1: sponsored skateboarder.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Holy shit. Yeah, that's a lot.
- 11:56Speaker 1: That's a lot of accolades for sure.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:58Speaker 1: And now, to be fair, this might all be very true.
- 12:03Speaker 1: It might be true. I do not know. There is
- 12:05Speaker 1: no evidence out there to either support or refute these claims.
- 12:08Speaker 1: They simply just come right off what he claims to
- 12:11Speaker 1: be on social media. But I mean, after all, no
- 12:15Speaker 1: one ever lies or embellishes things on social media, not
- 12:18Speaker 1: at all, not like you can. If it's on the internet,
- 12:21Speaker 1: you can believe it.
- 12:22Speaker 2: It's a fact, definitely.
- 12:24Speaker 1: So he is, without a doubt in my mind, a
- 12:27Speaker 1: professional skateboarder for sure.
- 12:29Speaker 2: You know, it's interesting though, I've never really thought about this,
- 12:32Speaker 2: but yeah, you could put whatever the shit you wanted
- 12:34Speaker 2: on LinkedIn, couldn't you.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Yeah you can, huh. But to be fair, if you
- 12:39Speaker 1: get a job from LinkedIn, Like, if you get a
- 12:42Speaker 1: job and they're like looking at your LinkedIn profile, that's
- 12:45Speaker 1: no different than lying in a resume, Like you're gonna
- 12:47Speaker 1: get screwed over. You're probably gonna lose the job.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Yeah, but I mean also like, if you're relying on
- 12:52Speaker 2: shit like that, I mean I think you could probably
- 12:54Speaker 2: get away with it. But if there might be.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Legal ramifications to that too.
- 13:00Speaker 2: True, So yeah, true, don't line in your LinkedIn. Yeah,
- 13:03Speaker 2: don't do it. Don't do it. I'm just like exploring
- 13:07Speaker 2: the possibility.
- 13:08Speaker 1: Nicole's out here just giving tips and tricks on how
- 13:10Speaker 1: to get your next job.
- 13:11Speaker 2: No, not at all, Okay, well for yourself, there don't Well, yeah,
- 13:18Speaker 2: you work.
- 13:18Speaker 1: A lot more trustless than that. But anyways, yeah, we
- 13:21Speaker 1: don't know because that all that stuff might be true.
- 13:24Speaker 1: But anyways, regardless the relationship between him and Amanda, it
- 13:29Speaker 1: was a rough one. A neighbor, actually a neighbor by
- 13:33Speaker 1: the name of Hosey Ellis, said he had seen them
- 13:36Speaker 1: arguing before, but it was nothing they found particularly concerning,
- 13:40Speaker 1: and then he never really had any indication that Robert
- 13:43Speaker 1: was capable of assaulting or hurting Amanda. Right, there's no
- 13:47Speaker 1: real reason to make a report be concerned for anyone's safety.
- 13:50Speaker 1: But clearly there was a side to it that neither
- 13:53Speaker 1: he or anyone was able to see, because something dark
- 13:59Speaker 1: was looming ahead. Now, the first incident between the two
- 14:04Speaker 1: that involved maybe we'll say physical harm, it was an
- 14:08Speaker 1: incident that took place on April twenty second, in twenty
- 14:12Speaker 1: and nineteen, which is yeah, that's COVID time, like right then.
- 14:16Speaker 2: And there, Well, the next year more so, isn't it.
- 14:19Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure it's twenty nineteen. When I start twenty twenty,
- 14:22Speaker 1: I thought it was spring of twenty nineteen.
- 14:24Speaker 2: It started, well, I think it started in twenty nineteen
- 14:27Speaker 2: for some people, but I think it was the twenty twenty,
- 14:31Speaker 2: wasn't it.
- 14:32Speaker 1: I'm almost certain it was April of twenty nineteen.
- 14:37Speaker 2: I don't know I could be wrong, and it's the
- 14:39Speaker 2: other the next year.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Someone out there right now is yelling at us. Nineteen
- 14:45Speaker 1: or twenty, it's one of those years. But regardless, both
- 14:48Speaker 1: Amanda and Robert they were arguing between one another. It
- 14:52Speaker 1: was a domestic dispute, and things began escalating more past
- 14:56Speaker 1: beyond just a dispute. It began to get to the
- 15:00Speaker 1: point where Robert allegedly tried to strangle Amanda in their home,
- 15:04Speaker 1: and then he also began threatening to attack her with
- 15:07Speaker 1: a taser.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Oh that's fucking scary.
- 15:09Speaker 1: Yeah, no shit, oh man. So Amanda was clearly afraid
- 15:12Speaker 1: for her own safety and well being, so she managed
- 15:15Speaker 1: to escape their home and ran. So she ran to
- 15:18Speaker 1: the neighbor's house nearby to try and seek safety with
- 15:20Speaker 1: someone else, someone who might be able to, you know, houser,
- 15:23Speaker 1: call for help or even help defend her, whatever the case.
- 15:27Speaker 1: So she ran to this neighbor and Robert he didn't
- 15:30Speaker 1: like this. He didn't like her running away, whether it
- 15:32Speaker 1: was leaving the house, leaving a getting away from him.
- 15:36Speaker 1: He went after her, and he went right after into
- 15:41Speaker 1: the neighbor's house as well.
- 15:42Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, yes, so.
- 15:44Speaker 1: An elderly man led Amanda inside, and Robert chased right
- 15:48Speaker 1: past him into his home to get to Amanda. Now,
- 15:51Speaker 1: the man tried to intervene and help Amanda, but he
- 15:54Speaker 1: himself ended up being battered by Robert in the process.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Yes, it's brutal.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Yes, So Robert ended up I don't know to what
- 16:04Speaker 1: extent the terminology that was being used in articles and
- 16:08Speaker 1: information that I was reading from was quote battered, so
- 16:13Speaker 1: to the degree I do not know, But he beat
- 16:16Speaker 1: up an old man.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Yeah, that's fucking brutal. Like this man was just trying
- 16:21Speaker 2: to help.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Yeah, and Robert just runs into his home and just
- 16:26Speaker 1: doesn't care. Yeah, not a single fuck given.
- 16:28Speaker 2: Like he was just in the way of what he
- 16:31Speaker 2: was trying to do. Yeah, brutal.
- 16:34Speaker 1: So Now, as a result of this incident, Robert was
- 16:37Speaker 1: thankfully arrested and charged with four felony counts, including burglary
- 16:43Speaker 1: and assault and battery. And this was on May twenty ninth. Now,
- 16:50Speaker 1: Amanda had filed a restraining order against Robert. She feared
- 16:55Speaker 1: for her safety. She didn't want anything else to happen,
- 16:59Speaker 1: so the restraining order. The document contained some writings directly
- 17:04Speaker 1: from her, Some quotes said I'm going to read, and
- 17:06Speaker 1: she had written on this document, quote he has made
- 17:09Speaker 1: over one hundred phone numbers to verbally bash me. It
- 17:13Speaker 1: went on to describe another time when Robert had once
- 17:16Speaker 1: quote turned around, came running at my window and broke
- 17:19Speaker 1: my double pane window with the hatchet.
- 17:22Speaker 2: Oh gosh.
- 17:24Speaker 1: He also quote took the hatchet and smashed the side
- 17:27Speaker 1: mirrors off my grandmother's car. Yeah, so where he was
- 17:33Speaker 1: already finding him because of this, He was already finding
- 17:36Speaker 1: himself facing misdemeanor charges foresaid incident, which of course he
- 17:39Speaker 1: was pleading not guilty for. So that had occurred, he
- 17:42Speaker 1: was finding himself facing these charges. Now this incident where
- 17:45Speaker 1: he's trying to strangle her, threatening to tase her, running
- 17:49Speaker 1: into this old man's home after her, he's now also
- 17:51Speaker 1: facing the charges from that on top.
- 17:53Speaker 2: That's so scary, I know.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Now as a whole Robert had filed a counter restraining order.
- 17:59Speaker 2: And oh my gosh, and.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Amanda's grandmother had also filed a.
- 18:03Speaker 2: Restraining order against who Robert against Robert, yes, because he
- 18:07Speaker 2: had like smashed her h shit, and she was fearing
- 18:10Speaker 2: for her safety and her granddaughter's safety like lots.
- 18:12Speaker 1: So it was this triangle of restraining orders. Now, I'm
- 18:16Speaker 1: not too certain exactly which way this played. I read
- 18:18Speaker 1: two different ways that Amanda did get her restraining order
- 18:21Speaker 1: and the other two did not get theirs. And I
- 18:24Speaker 1: also read that no restraining orders went through. Okay, so
- 18:28Speaker 1: either no one got them or Amanda did.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Well, what the hell is Robert putting in a restraining order?
- 18:35Speaker 2: I don't know, just to be a dick probably Okay, Well.
- 18:38Speaker 1: If she's doing it, I'm doing I'm gonna claim she's
- 18:41Speaker 1: the fucking crazy one, like you know, like that sort
- 18:43Speaker 1: of shit. But I mean they already have the incident
- 18:46Speaker 1: where he's already facing charges like, and now here's a
- 18:50Speaker 1: second one. And I'm assuming she's got some sort of
- 18:52Speaker 1: proof to back some of the shit up. I mean,
- 18:54Speaker 1: she has a witness, she has her.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Grandma, well, and she has that older man.
- 18:59Speaker 1: Yeah, the older man now too, So there's witnesses. But
- 19:03Speaker 1: there's always another side that people might not see.
- 19:05Speaker 2: That's true.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Just devil's advocate here, I'm saying right now, I believe Manda,
- 19:09Speaker 1: not Robert, But just say, what about what happened in
- 19:12Speaker 1: their home before Amanda ran to the neighbors? That could
- 19:16Speaker 1: be where Robert's being like, yeah, but she did some
- 19:18Speaker 1: shit then, probably making it up. But anyways, now it
- 19:23Speaker 1: would only be a couple months later, on on July
- 19:25Speaker 1: twenty ninth, twenty nineteen, when Robert was led out of
- 19:28Speaker 1: prison on bail. You're shaking your head.
- 19:31Speaker 2: Well, that is no time. No, it's not that is
- 19:34Speaker 2: no time whatsoever.
- 19:37Speaker 1: But since he was led out on bail, he was
- 19:39Speaker 1: required to wear an ankle monitor.
- 19:40Speaker 2: Though, Okay, cool, what the hell is that going to do.
- 19:44Speaker 1: So they know where he is and stuff? Right, Okay,
- 19:48Speaker 1: Now it would be that very same day, the same
- 19:51Speaker 1: day that Robert was led out of jail, on July
- 19:53Speaker 1: twenty ninth, twenty nineteen, that Amanda Custer would last be
- 19:57Speaker 1: seen alive.
- 19:59Speaker 2: Oh god, wow.
- 20:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Well, I mean that whole time that he was in jail,
- 20:04Speaker 2: the two months or whatever the hell it was, he
- 20:06Speaker 2: was probably just you know, plotting some serious avenge or something.
- 20:11Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, he was sitting on it. He was thinking
- 20:13Speaker 1: the whole time, and the moment he had the opportunity
- 20:17Speaker 1: he struck.
- 20:18Speaker 2: Gosh, I'm surprised that it was such a little amount
- 20:21Speaker 2: of time.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Well, like I think like he hadn't gone to court
- 20:25Speaker 1: for the charges. Yet he had only been held he
- 20:27Speaker 1: was being charged, and he hadn't been tried, so he
- 20:31Speaker 1: has not, you know, being charged with it. It's just
- 20:35Speaker 1: you know, he's out on bail in the meantime. So yeah. Now,
- 20:40Speaker 1: Amanda was last seen at around eight fifteen AM at
- 20:44Speaker 1: her home in the six hundred block of Vaquero Road.
- 20:48Speaker 1: I believe that's how you pronounce it in Marnovia, California.
- 20:52Speaker 1: What happened again isn't clear, but a neighbor reported seeing
- 20:55Speaker 1: her boyfriend Robert at the home and he was seen
- 21:00Speaker 1: dragging something out of the home and placing it into
- 21:04Speaker 1: the trunk of his gray twenty seventeen Toyota Prius.
- 21:08Speaker 2: Holy shit.
- 21:09Speaker 1: The person made a report. They called the police, and
- 21:14Speaker 1: they reported for potential domestic violence, and they said it
- 21:17Speaker 1: looked like it could have been a body that Robert
- 21:20Speaker 1: was stuffing into the trunk of his car.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, Ay, Okay, I feel you said boyfriend,
- 21:26Speaker 2: But I'm assuming at that time was probably ex boyfriend.
- 21:29Speaker 1: Well, I mean I assume, I assume, but I also
- 21:33Speaker 1: am like, have they a fish? Like I don't. It's
- 21:37Speaker 1: been so long since I've dated.
- 21:38Speaker 2: We've been married for like how long, like a million years?
- 21:41Speaker 1: Yeah, so I don't like when do you, like, do
- 21:44Speaker 1: you can have to have a consensual breakup to be
- 21:46Speaker 1: x or is it just like, oh he's in jail,
- 21:48Speaker 1: he's my ex and like I don't know, I don't
- 21:50Speaker 1: know semantics.
- 21:51Speaker 2: On dating, I don't know. But also a fucking Prius
- 21:55Speaker 2: like that is the most shocking a vehicle, Like I
- 21:59Speaker 2: just I just have was just say something about that.
- 22:02Speaker 2: A Prius, A Prius.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Yes, there's nothing wrong with a Prius, but I get you.
- 22:08Speaker 1: It's just like this like murderer shoving a body into
- 22:12Speaker 1: a Prius. It's like that's an odd picture because usually
- 22:15Speaker 1: people drive a Prius for like you know, environmental benefits
- 22:18Speaker 1: or like the gas mileage. Yeah yeah, but I'm going
- 22:20Speaker 1: to bury a body, so I need a Prius. It's
- 22:22Speaker 1: got a good trunk space.
- 22:23Speaker 2: I wasn't expecting it to be a Prius.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Fair enough, fair enough anyways, So this I really get
- 22:31Speaker 1: over that. The neighbor made the report for the site
- 22:34Speaker 1: that they just saw, and the police quickly arrived at
- 22:37Speaker 1: the home. However, by this time Robert had already left.
- 22:41Speaker 1: The next step was, of course, though, to do a
- 22:43Speaker 1: welfare check. So they entered the home to see if
- 22:47Speaker 1: Amanda was okay. They knocked, no answer. They entered and
- 22:52Speaker 1: they called her name again, no answer. As they made
- 22:57Speaker 1: the way through the home, it became clear to authorities
- 22:59Speaker 1: that this welfare was turning into something much more. Amanda
- 23:03Speaker 1: was nowhere in sight, but it was very clear some
- 23:05Speaker 1: sort of struggle had occurred inside and there was evidence
- 23:09Speaker 1: of blood as well. They speculated that Robert had taken
- 23:14Speaker 1: Amanda away unconscious and against her will. So the reason
- 23:21Speaker 1: why I think they speculated that they took her, that
- 23:24Speaker 1: he took her away unconscious, was because of the amount
- 23:27Speaker 1: of blood found inside. There wasn't a whole lot. It
- 23:29Speaker 1: wasn't like there's like pools of blood streaks on the
- 23:32Speaker 1: wall like that sort of stuff. I think they had
- 23:34Speaker 1: found like a few drops of blood here and there,
- 23:36Speaker 1: sort of thing. Okay, like maybe someone was struck over
- 23:38Speaker 1: the head and knocked out and yeah, drug outside.
- 23:42Speaker 2: You can like kill someone without a lot of being present.
- 23:46Speaker 1: You definitely can.
- 23:48Speaker 2: You like strangled her or something.
- 23:49Speaker 1: You definitely can. But I think the lack of blood,
- 23:53Speaker 1: I'm presuming is why they assume she was unconscious.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Okay, I wonder if she knew that he was getting
- 23:59Speaker 2: out on that day.
- 24:01Speaker 1: I honestly doubt it. I really do. Potentially, if she
- 24:07Speaker 1: did actually have a restraining order put in place, there
- 24:10Speaker 1: could be a potential that she might have been contacted
- 24:12Speaker 1: by authorities, maybe his parole officer or whatever it is,
- 24:15Speaker 1: or I don't know if it's parole if you're on bail,
- 24:17Speaker 1: but you know what I mean, she might have been
- 24:19Speaker 1: contacted by someone. But I think it would probably have
- 24:22Speaker 1: been only if that restraining order was something that went through.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Well then either way too, like she probably wouldn't have
- 24:29Speaker 2: expected that he would just you know, get out and
- 24:31Speaker 2: instantly be at her house.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Yeah, right, kid, Which like this was, like I said,
- 24:36Speaker 1: eight fifteen in the morning when she was last seen,
- 24:39Speaker 1: oh man.
- 24:40Speaker 2: Like getting ready for work kind of thing.
- 24:41Speaker 1: Yeah, And I'm going to be talking about some time
- 24:44Speaker 1: here again a little bit like we're we're not too
- 24:47Speaker 1: far away from fifteen right now, Like it's very early
- 24:50Speaker 1: still that he was there and this all went down.
- 24:53Speaker 1: But before we get to that other time I was
- 24:55Speaker 1: talking about, there's another piece of information I do want
- 24:57Speaker 1: to discuss.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Robert was wearing an monitor, right, okay, right.
- 25:03Speaker 1: So he still had this on, and authorities were able
- 25:05Speaker 1: to go ahead and start quickly tracking him down. Unfortunately,
- 25:11Speaker 1: the readings were not the most accurate of readings, and
- 25:16Speaker 1: I mean he was He ended up being outside of
- 25:19Speaker 1: the city a bit. He was sixteen miles outside of
- 25:22Speaker 1: the city into an area in between Mount Baldy and
- 25:26Speaker 1: Little Creek. So he's kind of out in this remote area.
- 25:32Speaker 1: They don't really have the best signal and the reading
- 25:35Speaker 1: oh but did.
- 25:36Speaker 2: They also were able to tell that he was at
- 25:38Speaker 2: the house too.
- 25:41Speaker 1: Well, I mean someone reported and saw him. Yeah, but
- 25:44Speaker 1: I think like they were like trying to track where
- 25:46Speaker 1: is he right now? Yeah, and they were able to
- 25:48Speaker 1: determine that, yes, he was out in this area somewhere.
- 25:51Speaker 2: But a large area kind of thing.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Very large area.
- 25:54Speaker 2: But also he just doesn't give a shit. Then I
- 25:56Speaker 2: forgot that he had this frickin' break this ankle thing on.
- 25:59Speaker 1: Yeah, not a single fuck is given here clearly.
- 26:02Speaker 2: Wow.
- 26:04Speaker 1: So shortly thereafter, when he was done in this area,
- 26:07Speaker 1: they were able to find that he had then driven
- 26:09Speaker 1: to town. They found footage on security cameras where they
- 26:14Speaker 1: knew he had gone through and had been He had
- 26:17Speaker 1: stopped at a Del Taco at a shell gas station
- 26:19Speaker 1: where he bought cigarettes. There were a few other camera
- 26:21Speaker 1: locations that he was captured on as well, all of
- 26:24Speaker 1: which showed him and no sign of Amanda anywhere. And
- 26:29Speaker 1: not long after that, at around nine thirty am, so
- 26:33Speaker 1: he had already gone out of town into this remote location,
- 26:38Speaker 1: come back, and around nine thirty am he removed the
- 26:41Speaker 1: ankle bracelet and dumped it.
- 26:43Speaker 2: Oh gosh, Okay, what the fuck's the point of an
- 26:46Speaker 2: ankle bracelet? It's clearly not working on him whatsoever.
- 26:50Speaker 1: Well, I don't think it's like we need to track
- 26:53Speaker 1: him down where he is, like immediately right now. I
- 26:55Speaker 1: think it's more so like, let's look back and where
- 26:57Speaker 1: have you been? Like I think I'm assuming, I.
- 26:59Speaker 2: Guess, but I mean, it's not working on this dude
- 27:02Speaker 2: at all.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Touche. But by the time I'm pretty sure by the
- 27:04Speaker 1: time he had already dumped it is when authorities were
- 27:08Speaker 1: already tracking like where he had been too, right so,
- 27:12Speaker 1: because it's going to take some time to look up
- 27:13Speaker 1: and process and everything. So now Robert was officially by
- 27:19Speaker 1: this time a wanted man, and police were making statements
- 27:23Speaker 1: to the public asking for help and his whereabouts. If
- 27:25Speaker 1: you see him. Give us a call. Here's what he
- 27:27Speaker 1: looks like. He's twenty seven years old. He looks like
- 27:30Speaker 1: a complete douchebag. Call us if you see that he's
- 27:32Speaker 1: driving a Prius. He looks like a born.
- 27:34Speaker 2: Gosh, that is like probably one of the worst descriptions ever,
- 27:38Speaker 2: because I feel like I see numerous people like that daily.
- 27:43Speaker 2: Am I allowed to say that?
- 27:44Speaker 1: No, it's fair, it's fair?
- 27:46Speaker 2: Oh man?
- 27:47Speaker 1: Yeah, okay. So thankfully, it wouldn't be too long before
- 27:51Speaker 1: police were actually able to find Robert. They would only
- 27:56Speaker 1: be about well, there would be about a small window
- 27:59Speaker 1: from where where he actually removed the ankle monitor to
- 28:01Speaker 1: where he would actually be seen. Next this time, not
- 28:05Speaker 1: only was he reported to be seen, but he was
- 28:08Speaker 1: actually recorded on video. So the very same day that
- 28:12Speaker 1: Amanda went missing, very same day where he was out
- 28:15Speaker 1: on bail, the very same day where police are trying
- 28:17Speaker 1: to track him down, he's a wanted man. Robert made
- 28:19Speaker 1: his way to a bar called King Eddie Saloon. He
- 28:23Speaker 1: was there for the evening. I'm just trying to have
- 28:24Speaker 1: a good time here. He was enjoying his night and
- 28:27Speaker 1: having you know, just fun, enjoying what was an open
- 28:30Speaker 1: mic event with some local rappers performing, so it was
- 28:33Speaker 1: like an open mic freestyle event, right, Okay, everyone's having
- 28:37Speaker 1: a good time. The rappers are up there on the mics,
- 28:39Speaker 1: you know, taking their turn, and there is this video
- 28:42Speaker 1: that is being taken and is currently available online. You
- 28:44Speaker 1: can go watch it if you'd like, where two rappers
- 28:46Speaker 1: appear to be kind of like facing off each other
- 28:48Speaker 1: a bit, going back and forth. A few people are
- 28:50Speaker 1: standing around, and Robert is one of those people. At
- 28:55Speaker 1: one point in the video, the mic seems to be
- 28:56Speaker 1: getting passed back and forth between more than just the
- 28:58Speaker 1: two people. You know, it's like whoever kind of wants
- 29:01Speaker 1: to take it, whoever's gonna grab it, And Robert decides
- 29:03Speaker 1: he wants to take a try at the mic, wants
- 29:05Speaker 1: to throw something down. First off, it's horrible, his rhyme,
- 29:11Speaker 1: his flow, all of it fucking terrible. He should never
- 29:14Speaker 1: have ever had a mic in his hand, and it's
- 29:16Speaker 1: just the worst. But worst of all are the lyrics
- 29:21Speaker 1: that he came up with on the fly. His short
- 29:24Speaker 1: rap verse went I'm not gonna wrap it, I'm just
- 29:28Speaker 1: gonna say it, but it went as such, right here,
- 29:31Speaker 1: I'm gangster in this house. I fucking cut the EMP
- 29:35Speaker 1: off my fucking leg and then I'm out, motherfucker, you
- 29:38Speaker 1: don't even know I'm on the fucking news. I killed
- 29:42Speaker 1: my bitch and buried that bitch in the fucking dirt.
- 29:47Speaker 2: Holy shit.
- 29:49Speaker 1: Yeah, that's about the same face that everyone else in
- 29:51Speaker 1: the room had when he fucking started saying that. Now
- 29:55Speaker 1: he had one more line that he did say. It's
- 29:57Speaker 1: a little bit harder to discern something about the police
- 30:01Speaker 1: are after him and he needs to like not talk
- 30:03Speaker 1: or something like that. I know, as he just fucking
- 30:06Speaker 1: says everything, wow, but like someone's like kind of like
- 30:10Speaker 1: trying to take the microme like casually, and so it's
- 30:13Speaker 1: like kind of hard to discern what he's really saying.
- 30:16Speaker 1: But I was just like, this is this guy's a
- 30:18Speaker 1: fucking idiot?
- 30:19Speaker 2: Is he drunk out of his mind?
- 30:21Speaker 1: He might be drunk then, I'm not certain. But like
- 30:24Speaker 1: I said, you can see everyone just same shock that
- 30:28Speaker 1: you just had in your face. Everyone's just like what
- 30:31Speaker 1: the fuck did he just say? Like what? Yeah, like
- 30:34Speaker 1: trying to like process this.
- 30:36Speaker 2: So shocking, so awkward, so fucked up. Yeah, So like
- 30:41Speaker 2: what do I do now?
- 30:42Speaker 1: Yep? So the man who shot the video, Michael Moore
- 30:46Speaker 1: later did an interview and said quote. At first, I
- 30:49Speaker 1: was like, did he say that? He said that? And
- 30:53Speaker 1: he said it was he said it with such force.
- 30:56Speaker 1: I think that everyone in the bar that hurt him
- 30:59Speaker 1: kind of stopped. Time just stopped, and there were some
- 31:04Speaker 1: hardcore wrappers in there and they stopped.
- 31:09Speaker 2: Oh my gosh.
- 31:12Speaker 1: Yeah, no one really knew what to do, how to
- 31:14Speaker 1: take it in And the video was quickly posted on
- 31:18Speaker 1: social media, where authorities were notified and soon came asking
- 31:23Speaker 1: questions with Michael at the bar who recorded it, and
- 31:27Speaker 1: all this sort of stuff. But even before they were
- 31:30Speaker 1: able to talk with anyone, because I mean, hey, this
- 31:32Speaker 1: is late at night, gets posted by the time they
- 31:34Speaker 1: got there, bar is probably closed down, right, So before
- 31:39Speaker 1: they were able to talk with anyone in the morning,
- 31:41Speaker 1: police just so happened to cross paths with Robert.
- 31:46Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, this guy, I mean, he's getting what's
- 31:49Speaker 2: coming to him?
- 31:50Speaker 1: Oh is he?
- 31:51Speaker 2: Welly well, actually no, he should never even been out
- 31:55Speaker 2: of jail. Like this is one of those things where
- 31:59Speaker 2: you gotta serious regret or like, look at some shit
- 32:02Speaker 2: for someone like this to be out.
- 32:05Speaker 1: Yeah, you're right, seriously, but that's not how it played
- 32:09Speaker 1: out unfortunately. No, we're gonna talk about how it played
- 32:14Speaker 1: out though, okay with going forward in this case. So
- 32:17Speaker 1: here we go. So police early in the hours on
- 32:21Speaker 1: July thirtieth, which is the very next day after Manda
- 32:24Speaker 1: went missing, at approximately two forty five am, so real
- 32:28Speaker 1: early in the morning. Yeah, LA police officers on patrol
- 32:31Speaker 1: located Robert's twenty seventeen gray Toyota.
- 32:34Speaker 2: Prius, his fucking prius, his.
- 32:36Speaker 1: Fucking prius, parked on Hill and Second Street in downtown LA.
- 32:42Speaker 1: The police approached the car and lo and behold inside
- 32:46Speaker 1: was Robert sleeping?
- 32:47Speaker 2: Well, yeah, he probably doesn't have anywhere to.
- 32:49Speaker 1: Go, probably not, so his Prius is now his home
- 32:53Speaker 1: on the street here. They woke him up and they
- 32:55Speaker 1: tried to talk to him, but rather than a conversation
- 32:58Speaker 1: or anything of the like, what happened instead was a
- 33:01Speaker 1: five hour long standoff with Robert inside of the vehicle.
- 33:06Speaker 1: He was not compliant, He refused to exit, and I'm
- 33:09Speaker 1: sure they feared that he could drive away in a
- 33:11Speaker 1: chase that could pose danger to the public, so they
- 33:15Speaker 1: quickly did their best to ensure that he couldn't do
- 33:17Speaker 1: that by bringing in the SWAT team to barricade him in.
- 33:23Speaker 2: Wow, yeah, this is like this guy is causing some
- 33:27Speaker 2: serious freaking commotion.
- 33:29Speaker 1: Oh is he? Ever? So still, though they got the
- 33:32Speaker 1: swat team, he's barricaded. He can't go anywhere. Still, As
- 33:36Speaker 1: the hours ticked by, they could not get him to cooperate.
- 33:40Speaker 1: So finally, at around seven to forty five am, authorities
- 33:43Speaker 1: decided they were going to make him leave the vehicle,
- 33:47Speaker 1: not by force though. They didn't want to open the
- 33:49Speaker 1: door go in, like what if he has a knife
- 33:50Speaker 1: or something he could shift someone. That's not the way
- 33:53Speaker 1: they wanted to play this. What they ended up doing
- 33:57Speaker 1: is they pumped a chemical agent into his I'm assuming
- 34:00Speaker 1: something along the lines of like tear gas to force
- 34:04Speaker 1: him out. And that's exactly what happened. He quickly came
- 34:07Speaker 1: out of that car real fast once that was being
- 34:09Speaker 1: pumped inside, and he was quickly apprehended, seeked. They sought
- 34:14Speaker 1: him medical tension for the chemicals. Now, so after a
- 34:17Speaker 1: little bit of medical attention, then boom, he is in
- 34:20Speaker 1: jail with this time no possibility of bail.
- 34:24Speaker 2: Okay, but like, what do they even have on him? Really?
- 34:28Speaker 1: Well, his vehicle was searched and inside detectives found blood
- 34:32Speaker 1: that was a match to Amanda in the trunk. Okay, now,
- 34:35Speaker 1: they also found reportedly a tarp and what was described
- 34:39Speaker 1: as only a quote digging tool, which I presume is
- 34:43Speaker 1: a shovel. But again, one of those terms that I
- 34:47Speaker 1: could not find of complete definition, digging tool is the
- 34:50Speaker 1: same term that was used over and over and over again.
- 34:53Speaker 2: Okay.
- 34:54Speaker 1: Robert refused to say anything to investigators in regards to
- 34:58Speaker 1: Amanda's whereaboats, and he just continued to maintain his innocence
- 35:02Speaker 1: even in the face of the overwhelming evidence that they had, like,
- 35:05Speaker 1: for example, a wrapping video where he describes killing and
- 35:09Speaker 1: burying the missing woman.
- 35:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean that is quite a bit, but I
- 35:14Speaker 2: guess it's always harder if they didn't find like if
- 35:18Speaker 2: they don't find the body, right, touche.
- 35:21Speaker 1: So. In the following September, Robert was officially charged with
- 35:25Speaker 1: capital murder, which means, if convicted, he could face up
- 35:30Speaker 1: to life in prison or even the death penalty. From here, unfortunately,
- 35:36Speaker 1: the information on the case is very few and far between.
- 35:40Speaker 1: I presume that much of the evidence against Robert is
- 35:44Speaker 1: being held for his trial, which means they're not really
- 35:47Speaker 1: making it public. Hence things like quote digging tool are
- 35:51Speaker 1: the tombs that are being used. So I do think
- 35:54Speaker 1: that they are hiding as much evidence as they can
- 35:56Speaker 1: in preparation. Yeah, in preparation for court. Most of the
- 36:01Speaker 1: articles and updates I could find were from twenty nineteen,
- 36:04Speaker 1: the year that this actually occurred. But I did find
- 36:07Speaker 1: one document from February of twenty twenty three, a document
- 36:11Speaker 1: directly from the Court of California where a request for
- 36:15Speaker 1: review of Robert was denied by the court. So it
- 36:19Speaker 1: is still an ongoing case. He is indeed currently behind
- 36:23Speaker 1: bars awaiting trial. Good Unfortunately, as we discussed before in
- 36:27Speaker 1: other cases on the show, and as you just mentioned
- 36:30Speaker 1: a moment ago, it is very hard to convict someone
- 36:34Speaker 1: of murder without a body to prove said person is
- 36:38Speaker 1: indeed murdered.
- 36:40Speaker 2: So, and I'm imagining too that I mean, they had
- 36:43Speaker 2: a general I don't know exactly like how big of
- 36:46Speaker 2: the scope of the area, but idea of where he went,
- 36:50Speaker 2: and I'm assuming they probably searched the shit out of it.
- 36:53Speaker 1: Oh yeah, they've been searching the shit out of it,
- 36:55Speaker 1: I'm sure. But the thing is, I can't imagine how
- 36:58Speaker 1: many hectares it would be that this is because he
- 37:01Speaker 1: drove off sixteen miles. I'm not sure which direction it
- 37:04Speaker 1: was from the city specifically, but he drove off towards
- 37:07Speaker 1: where there's like a couple of different mountain ranges with
- 37:09Speaker 1: like he's over here somewhere, So I'm pretty sure like
- 37:13Speaker 1: the radius you're probably looking at, like at least a
- 37:15Speaker 1: ten mile radius or something like that.
- 37:18Speaker 2: How at least probably Yeah, how do you.
- 37:20Speaker 1: Find a fucking grave in a remote ten mile radius
- 37:25Speaker 1: of the wilderness? You can't luck that night.
- 37:28Speaker 2: I mean, I also feel like this guy doesn't seem
- 37:31Speaker 2: like he's the sharpest knife in the drawer.
- 37:34Speaker 1: No, I don't think so.
- 37:35Speaker 2: So, like, I don't know, I can't envision him walking
- 37:39Speaker 2: in there.
- 37:40Speaker 1: Too far, but touche well, especially considering his time frame,
- 37:46Speaker 1: because he was back right the town already ditched his
- 37:49Speaker 1: ankle monitor by ninety thirty, so he didn't spend too
- 37:52Speaker 1: long out there burying her, which also speaks to me
- 37:55Speaker 1: that her grave is probably pretty shallow.
- 37:58Speaker 2: Yeah, so, I mean I could see it getting found
- 38:00Speaker 2: one day.
- 38:01Speaker 1: Hey, I am on that same page. I mean, honestly,
- 38:06Speaker 1: maybe all we really need is a really good fucking
- 38:08Speaker 1: like monsoon downpour rain on top of where he potentially
- 38:12Speaker 1: buried her to uncover her.
- 38:14Speaker 2: Yeah, which would be I mean, just devastating. But it's
- 38:18Speaker 2: also nice for families and stuff to get closure, right then, Yes.
- 38:22Speaker 1: Like closure is unknown, Closure isn't everything, but closure is
- 38:26Speaker 1: something for.
- 38:27Speaker 2: Sure because it very much so sounds like she is
- 38:31Speaker 2: no longer alive, you know, most probably, which is awful.
- 38:38Speaker 1: So Robert is currently planning on entering a plea deal.
- 38:42Speaker 1: Yeah sorry, not not a plea deal, entering a plea
- 38:45Speaker 1: of not guilty, my apologies. So he is planning on
- 38:48Speaker 1: going into court saying he is not guilty, which means
- 38:51Speaker 1: he claims he did not kill Amanda and is not
- 38:54Speaker 1: providing any information on where he may have buried her remains.
- 38:58Speaker 1: As of right now, Amanda Kathleen Custer is currently still
- 39:03Speaker 1: missing and unless Robert comes clean, as we just talked about,
- 39:07Speaker 1: she may never be found.
- 39:10Speaker 2: Wow. Fucking Robert, fucking.
- 39:12Speaker 1: Robert and his fucking prius.
- 39:15Speaker 2: Yeah, no shit. The visual I was like having trouble
- 39:18Speaker 2: sometimes focusing because all I could see was this prius
- 39:21Speaker 2: and all this shit going down around it and stuff. Yeah,
- 39:24Speaker 2: very interesting.
- 39:25Speaker 1: So that is the current story of Amanda Custer. I
- 39:31Speaker 1: could not find a date on when his trial is set.
- 39:33Speaker 1: To me, it does not sound like there is a
- 39:35Speaker 1: date set, but with the review request denied by the
- 39:43Speaker 1: Court of California, I would presume that we are looking
- 39:46Speaker 1: at within a year or two. I'm hoping it sounds
- 39:50Speaker 1: like it's like, no, they're wanting to get this moving on.
- 39:52Speaker 1: So hopefully that is the case, and hopefully the evidence
- 39:56Speaker 1: that is being collected, that is being withheld is enough
- 40:00Speaker 1: to prove what really happened, and then if Robert did
- 40:04Speaker 1: in fact do this, that he pays the fucking price.
- 40:07Speaker 2: M yeah, it's too bad. I mean, gosh, yeah, he's
- 40:11Speaker 2: I don't envision him saying anything so.
- 40:15Speaker 1: Well, he already said it all though that well no.
- 40:17Speaker 2: But I mean, like where the body is or anything, right,
- 40:20Speaker 2: Like he's just keeping his mouth shut now at this point.
- 40:23Speaker 1: Well, who knows, because with something like that, maybe there
- 40:26Speaker 1: will be a plea deal offered, because they're like, hey,
- 40:29Speaker 1: if you show us where she's buried, we can enter
- 40:32Speaker 1: a plea deal of like you know, a half sentence
- 40:36Speaker 1: or it was an act, Like we'll pretend like it
- 40:39Speaker 1: was an accident sort of thing and you won't have
- 40:41Speaker 1: like be charged with capital murder or something. Maybe it'll be,
- 40:45Speaker 1: like hate to say it, something low is like manslaughter
- 40:48Speaker 1: or something like that. But yeah, depending what's offered, it's
- 40:53Speaker 1: a possibility. We've seen stuff a little like before.
- 40:56Speaker 2: Yeah. Wow, poor Amanda.
- 40:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel for her. Yeah. Like I said, at
- 41:04Speaker 1: the very beginning, she was only wanting to do better
- 41:05Speaker 1: for herself. Yeah, and then this asshole drug her down.
- 41:10Speaker 2: Robert's another name, like Carl, A that just seems like shitty.
- 41:14Speaker 1: I have no problem with anyone named Robert, with anyone
- 41:17Speaker 1: named Carl, but it just seems like there's there's there's
- 41:20Speaker 1: a pattern, there's certain names.
- 41:22Speaker 2: I feel like that if you're you're having a baby
- 41:25Speaker 2: and you're thinking about naming your kid, just like, don't
- 41:29Speaker 2: name them that douche, just because I feel like there's
- 41:33Speaker 2: names on here that come up more often than not.
- 41:36Speaker 2: Sometimes I like bad people, but not saying if your
- 41:39Speaker 2: name is that that you'll be a bad person. No.
- 41:42Speaker 1: I think if anyone out they're listening right now, if
- 41:44Speaker 1: your name is Robert, just be one of the good Roberts.
- 41:48Speaker 1: Please just do it.
- 41:50Speaker 2: There's going to be more good Roberts than that.
- 41:52Speaker 1: Oh, there definitely will be. But you need to overshadow
- 41:55Speaker 1: this asshole.
- 41:56Speaker 2: Yeah, this guy's nasty.
- 41:58Speaker 1: Yeah. No, I fully believe that Roberts can can out
- 42:03Speaker 1: what's the word outdo his negativity with positivity.
- 42:07Speaker 2: Yeah. I also feel like we were a tape terrible
- 42:10Speaker 2: advertisement for Prius.
- 42:14Speaker 1: I fully said, there's nothing wrong with the fucking Prius,
- 42:17Speaker 1: it's just the situation that's painted here. Yeah, because like
- 42:21Speaker 1: Priuses are also known for the trunk space and it's
- 42:23Speaker 1: all like, hey, oh man, you can fit fit a
- 42:26Speaker 1: lot in there.
- 42:27Speaker 2: It looks like the camera just turned off. It's done
- 42:30Speaker 2: with us.
- 42:30Speaker 1: Oh I didn't replace the battery, okay, forgot to do that.
- 42:34Speaker 1: So anyways, this is the end of the episode. Thank
- 42:37Speaker 1: you for being here. We really appreciate all of you
- 42:41Speaker 1: supporting us NonStop. If you want to give a show

- 42:53Speaker 1: five stars. Ooh uh yeah. So we got a lot
- 42:57Speaker 1: of stuff coming down the pipe here soon. Like I said,
- 42:59Speaker 1: I'm gonna be doing deep dive on a good old
- 43:01Speaker 1: Patreon case here that well a Patreon requested case.
- 43:04Speaker 2: Okay. I was like, that's gonna be on Patriot.
- 43:05Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a Patreon requested case. So it will be
- 43:08Speaker 1: a public case for here. It'll be a good deep dive.
- 43:11Speaker 1: And I'm excited for doing that one. Yeah yeah, yeah.
- 43:15Speaker 2: Well well done on this. This is this is something
- 43:17Speaker 2: I need to get out there.
- 43:18Speaker 1: It's one. It was a case that I came across
- 43:20Speaker 1: a couple of months ago and I'm like, I really
- 43:22Speaker 1: want to cover it. So and I'm glad I did. Yeah,
- 43:26Speaker 1: Amanda's name needs to get out there.
- 43:28Speaker 2: It does.
