- 0:05Speaker 1: And now the mob guys creak on your knees and
- 0:19Speaker 1: wing Dolce Fino on KSV Radio.
- 0:40Speaker 2: This is the Mob Guys on KSV Radio. I am
- 0:44Speaker 2: Craig Colonese. He is Wayne Dolcefino, and he's not here today,
- 0:49Speaker 2: which is my bad, actually.
- 0:51Speaker 3: He travels a lot on Friday. I think it's what
- 0:53Speaker 3: he told me a while back, maybe when this thing
- 0:56Speaker 3: first started. And yet he was just texting me this
- 0:58Speaker 3: morning saying, He's like, hey, man, we got this guest
- 1:00Speaker 3: coming up today. We got this going on. And he
- 1:03Speaker 3: was like, Craig, it's Friday. I'm going somewhere else for
- 1:06Speaker 3: some business things.
- 1:07Speaker 2: And then he said, I like this. This is from
- 1:09Speaker 2: Wayne Dolcefino. You got spoiled by having me all this week.
- 1:12Speaker 2: That's true.
- 1:13Speaker 4: I did.
- 1:14Speaker 3: So Wayne Dolcefino is on special assignment is what I
- 1:16Speaker 3: usually call it. There is a lot of stuff out
- 1:19Speaker 3: there to talk about. I will preview a few things
- 1:23Speaker 3: on today's show. Orlando Sanchez will be here at 735.
- 1:27Speaker 3: One of the biggest conversations we'll be talking about with
- 1:29Speaker 3: Orlando is the ridiculous amount of additional property taxes that
- 1:34Speaker 3: Harris County is trying to throw on all of us,
- 1:37Speaker 3: anybody that lives here. It is the largest, I think,
- 1:40Speaker 3: tax hike in the history or maybe second largest in
- 1:43Speaker 3: the history of the county. It is something that even
- 1:47Speaker 3: Lena Hidalgo had voted no, which says something very loud.
- 1:52Speaker 3: And I think she actually skipped the final vote. So
- 1:54Speaker 3: I don't think there was a no vote in the
- 1:56Speaker 3: final voting. But it's kind of amazing that even Lena
- 1:59Speaker 3: Hidalgo was saying that this is probably too much, too far,
- 2:03Speaker 3: and we shouldn't do it, which, by the way, is
- 2:05Speaker 3: incredible when you watch a politician who no longer cares
- 2:09Speaker 3: about being reelected change some of their positions on things,
- 2:14Speaker 3: actually act a little bit more reasonable, not a lot
- 2:16Speaker 3: more reasonable, still mostly crazy and insane and skipping out
- 2:20Speaker 3: all the time on even doing the work itself. But
- 2:23Speaker 3: beyond that, there are some moments where where you hear
- 2:26Speaker 3: a politician break ever so slightly from the stuff that
- 2:30Speaker 3: they normally do. And I find that pretty fascinating. I
- 2:33Speaker 3: find that pretty interesting when that happens. But anyway, that
- 2:37Speaker 3: is some of what's coming up on today's show. I
- 2:40Speaker 3: will continue to play anything and everything I find from
- 2:45Speaker 3: James Tallarico. And a lot of what I'm finding actually
- 2:49Speaker 3: has been put out there by Amuse. who, as I
- 2:52Speaker 3: said the other day, does a weekly, I think it's
- 2:55Speaker 3: like a Wednesday night show.
- 2:57Speaker 2: With Chris Salcedo.
- 2:59Speaker 3: They call it The Third Rail, I think is the
- 3:01Speaker 3: name of that show. And you can find it all
- 3:02Speaker 3: over social media. And both those guys are awesome. Obviously,
- 3:06Speaker 3: we think Salcedo is incredible in his long run here.
- 3:09Speaker 3: But Amuse is a pretty influential person in the world
- 3:14Speaker 3: of at least social media, and if not more than that,
- 3:18Speaker 3: in the world of politics. But he has been helping
- 3:21Speaker 3: to either discover or push out a bunch of additional
- 3:26Speaker 3: Tallarico stuff that voters need to hear and see. And
- 3:30Speaker 3: I thought this one was kind of interesting because there's
- 3:33Speaker 3: another one now. James Tallarico needs thoughts and prayers for Texans.
- 3:38Speaker 3: Paxson needs their votes. Tallarico isn't fit to serve was
- 3:42Speaker 3: the post that Amuse put up. And then here, I
- 3:45Speaker 3: can play some of this audio because I do think
- 3:47Speaker 3: it's pretty interesting.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Here we go.
- 3:50Speaker 5: I think having a rainbow in class is considered indoctrination.
- 3:55Speaker 5: What if we ran our world like we run a
- 3:58Speaker 5: kindergarten classroom? Because at the end of the day, aren't
- 4:01Speaker 5: we all just really big kindergartners? The American flag is
- 4:05Speaker 5: such a complicated symbol for most of us in many ways,
- 4:08Speaker 5: like Jesus, like the cross. It's been co-opted and and
- 4:12Speaker 5: and and no. And in some ways, its true meaning
- 4:16Speaker 5: has been betrayed. For me, prophetic voices like Jesus have
- 4:19Speaker 5: helped me reckon with my own whiteness, my own masculinity,
- 4:23Speaker 5: my own certainty, my own ego. It's a never-ending process,
- 4:28Speaker 5: and it's a painful process.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm not in pain at all. By the way,
- 4:31Speaker 2: I want to play that first one again.
- 4:32Speaker 5: And I guess I'm just confused why having a rainbow
- 4:36Speaker 5: in class is considered indoctrination.
- 4:38Speaker 2: What is it?
- 4:40Speaker 3: So I really like that first one because the rainbow symbol,
- 4:44Speaker 3: the way it's used and the way that they talk
- 4:46Speaker 3: about it is 100 percent about more than just some
- 4:51Speaker 3: sort of, hey, we're trying to help. We're trying to
- 4:54Speaker 3: do this or that or something to be, you know,
- 4:57Speaker 3: it's 100 percent about LGBTQ.
- 4:59Speaker 2: They know it. They don't care.
- 5:01Speaker 3: It's amazing to hear them make these arguments that they
- 5:03Speaker 3: make all the time. And it's it's mostly just amusing
- 5:07Speaker 3: to me, to be totally honest with you. that these
- 5:09Speaker 3: kind of things happen because, darn it, it's always the
- 5:14Speaker 3: freaking same. And there doesn't seem to be a way
- 5:19Speaker 3: to convince most people on that side that what.
- 5:24Speaker 2: We're saying is just simply logical.
- 5:25Speaker 3: They have to attack it as racist or they have
- 5:28Speaker 3: to attack it as hateful. It has to be something
- 5:31Speaker 3: beyond being just simply what most of us would consider obvious.
- 5:37Speaker 3: That's not the only thing out there, though, but I
- 5:39Speaker 3: do love the fact that more and more of this
- 5:41Speaker 3: stuff is becoming mainstream. And I also, I'll say one
- 5:46Speaker 3: last thing, because I'm not going to talk about Tallarico
- 5:48Speaker 3: all day again.
- 5:49Speaker 2: We did a lot of that yesterday after Wayne left.
- 5:52Speaker 3: But I will tell you that one thing that I
- 5:53Speaker 3: do like is watching Tallarico try to completely shift from
- 5:57Speaker 3: what he said in the past to what he claims
- 6:00Speaker 3: to believe now.
- 6:02Speaker 2: And the reason I like that is twofold.
- 6:05Speaker 3: First, it will make some of the left mad, the
- 6:08Speaker 3: people who love him the most for the crazy things
- 6:11Speaker 3: he says, which there are some people out there. I
- 6:13Speaker 3: don't know if a whole lot of them actually live
- 6:15Speaker 3: in Texas, but the most ridiculous people will start to
- 6:18Speaker 3: get upset that he continues to say things that actually
- 6:22Speaker 3: disregard their radical ideology. That is one reason that I
- 6:27Speaker 3: like that he's trying to pivot. The other reason, it
- 6:29Speaker 3: just outs him as a giant liar. The last thing
- 6:33Speaker 3: I think that we should accept, although it's the most
- 6:36Speaker 3: common thing that happens all the time in the world
- 6:38Speaker 3: of politics, is people who are blatantly and obviously lying
- 6:42Speaker 3: to us on a myriad of issues, especially on core
- 6:46Speaker 3: beliefs of theirs.
- 6:47Speaker 2: I've said it before and I'll say it again.
- 6:49Speaker 3: This is, to me, the most obvious thing for us
- 6:52Speaker 3: to push back on, is that when you can tell
- 6:56Speaker 3: someone is a consistent and constant piece.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Of crap liar, that you're like, all right, that's too much.
- 7:02Speaker 3: We're going to go ahead and try to pull back
- 7:04Speaker 3: on this And we're not going to elect you to
- 7:06Speaker 3: some sort of office that you don't deserve because this
- 7:09Speaker 3: is the point that we can all definitively say we
- 7:12Speaker 3: agree that you've been outed as completely inauthentic.
- 7:16Speaker 2: That should matter more.
- 7:18Speaker 3: And it sounds almost naive, to be honest with you,
- 7:21Speaker 3: to complain about politicians and lies like that. That sounds
- 7:25Speaker 3: in the society we live in now. I'm I'm willfully
- 7:28Speaker 3: admitting this myself, even though I'm the one saying it.
- 7:31Speaker 2: It sounds silly to say that. How dare we expect
- 7:35Speaker 2: politicians to tell the truth?
- 7:38Speaker 3: And yet we should. What we should be doing is
- 7:41Speaker 3: continuing to demand this of these people, that they behave
- 7:45Speaker 3: the way we expect them to behave, the way.
- 7:48Speaker 2: That we hold all other people accountable. And yet it
- 7:51Speaker 2: doesn't happen here.
- 7:52Speaker 3: I want to play one other piece of audio, though,
- 7:54Speaker 3: before we take our first break and then we get
- 7:56Speaker 3: set up for Orlando Sanchez at 730.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Gail King.
- 8:00Speaker 3: Upon hearing there was a black man who was the
- 8:03Speaker 3: holdout juror in the Lindsay Clancy case, really struggled with
- 8:08Speaker 3: that information. More audio has been going viral of the
- 8:11Speaker 3: morning show, CBS Mornings, excuse me, and some of their
- 8:15Speaker 3: discussion about this.
- 8:17Speaker 2: And it's really interesting. Here, let's play this clip.
- 8:20Speaker 3: But they actually told the judge through that note that
- 8:22Speaker 3: the holdout juror they believed.
- 8:24Speaker 6: Did have reasonable doubt and wasn't following the law.
- 8:27Speaker 7: So even now they're telling conflicting stories.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Correct.
- 8:29Speaker 7: The jurors are saying and what he is saying.
- 8:31Speaker 2: He sounds sound in his reasoning.
- 8:32Speaker 1: I'm glad he's.
- 8:32Speaker 8: Speaking up because everybody wants to know where he was
- 8:35Speaker 8: coming from.
- 8:36Speaker 7: Exactly.
- 8:37Speaker 3: What's amazing to me about that, what I love so
- 8:39Speaker 3: much about that audio, is that all of.
- 8:41Speaker 2: A sudden the holdout juror. They actually told the judge
- 8:43Speaker 2: through that. Stop, stop.
- 8:44Speaker 3: All of a sudden, the holdout juror is someone that
- 8:46Speaker 3: they might be able to understand.
- 8:48Speaker 2: He sounds like he had some good reasons.
- 8:50Speaker 3: He sounded like he made a lot of sense, is
- 8:53Speaker 3: what a couple of the panelists, including Gayle King, are saying.
- 8:56Speaker 2: That's incredible to me.
- 8:58Speaker 3: And the reason why I guess it is before we
- 9:01Speaker 3: actually do hit our break, I'll just say this quickly,
- 9:04Speaker 3: is it's so obvious, just like how we should demand
- 9:07Speaker 3: politicians tell the truth.
- 9:09Speaker 2: It's an obvious demand. and one that we don't get
- 9:11Speaker 2: a lot of, it's so obvious that the.
- 9:13Speaker 3: Minute that this person looks like them, looks like Gayle King,
- 9:18Speaker 3: looks like Michael Duraville, I don't even know how to
- 9:21Speaker 3: say his name, but anyway, looks like those people, those
- 9:24Speaker 3: individuals on that show, I don't mean those people as
- 9:26Speaker 3: in all black people, I mean the people speaking on
- 9:29Speaker 3: the television show, as soon as he looks like someone
- 9:32Speaker 3: with an opinion, that opinion changes. The person immediately says, well,
- 9:37Speaker 3: maybe this could be more reason, maybe I could understand
- 9:39Speaker 3: this better, It's obvious that the thing before was rooted
- 9:43Speaker 3: in some sort of racist thought. You don't have to
- 9:45Speaker 3: be a full on racist to have racist thoughts and behaviors.
- 9:50Speaker 3: And I do think a lot of times when we
- 9:52Speaker 3: see certain media members talk about the assumed white conservative,
- 9:57Speaker 3: they say it in a way that almost feels unapologetic.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Racist.
- 10:01Speaker 3: And so it's amazing to actually hear the transition when
- 10:05Speaker 3: someone thinks it's not a white conservative who is actually
- 10:09Speaker 3: the person responsible for what they had been upset about
- 10:12Speaker 3: just a few days ago.
- 10:13Speaker 2: All right, we'll take a break.
- 10:14Speaker 3: A lot, like I said, to get to, a lot
- 10:16Speaker 3: to talk about on The Voice of Texas. KSEV, the
- 10:21Speaker 3: Mob Guys Morning Show. We are going to try to
- 10:23Speaker 3: have some fun, and we are going to talk to
- 10:25Speaker 3: a veteran at 8.30 for a.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Veteran Voices segment. And also, my cousin Vinny will be
- 10:30Speaker 2: on at 8.15.
- 10:30Speaker 3: This is The Voice of Texas, 700 a.m.
- 11:08Speaker 2: And now for the bonus round. Who imposes property taxes?
- 11:13Speaker 2: State government. Nice try, but no. Local governments.
- 11:18Speaker 9: Correct.
- 11:19Speaker 10: And we have a winner.
- 11:21Speaker 6: Here's Governor Greg Abbott on his plan to control property taxes.
- 11:25Speaker 11: The state of Texas does not impose a property tax.
- 11:28Speaker 11: Only local governments impose property taxes. One of the reasons
- 11:32Speaker 11: why your property taxes are going up is because local
- 11:35Speaker 11: governments are increasing their spending. So the first thing we
- 11:39Speaker 11: got to do is to stop the spending that leads.
- 11:42Speaker 2: To property tax increases.
- 11:44Speaker 11: You should have a say on whether or not your
- 11:46Speaker 11: property taxes go up. It should be a vote that
- 11:49Speaker 11: requires two-thirds vote before any property tax increase can ever
- 11:53Speaker 11: be imposed on our fellow Texans. You're going to be
- 11:56Speaker 11: able to live in your home for the rest of
- 11:58Speaker 11: your lives without being priced.
- 12:00Speaker 12: Out of it.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Protecting homeowners, lowering property taxes. That's Governor Greg Abbott.
- 12:05Speaker 11: Political ad paid for by Texans for Greg Abbott.
- 12:08Speaker 13: This is Kevin O'Hara with O'Hara & Company Real Estate.
- 12:11Speaker 13: At O'Hara & Company Real Estate, we believe in God, family,
- 12:14Speaker 13: and country. In the past 50 years, people have been
- 12:16Speaker 13: trying to remove all three of those from our thinking.
- 12:19Speaker 13: Fight for what you believe in and protect your freedoms
- 12:21Speaker 13: before they're all taken away. Don't let anyone infringe on
- 12:25Speaker 13: your rights. If you need a real estate company, call
- 12:27Speaker 13: O'Hara & Company Real Estate, 281-373-3393, or look us up
- 12:33Speaker 13: on the web at oharare.com. I'm Kevin O'Hara. God bless America,
- 12:38Speaker 13: and God bless Texas.
- 12:39Speaker 12: The best in financial talk and more. Money Matters, every
- 12:42Speaker 12: Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. till noon, here on
- 12:45Speaker 12: AM700 KSCV and streaming online at kscvradio.com.
- 13:04Speaker 2: This is KSEV, The Voice of Texas, 700 AM.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Thrilled to have you with us. I am one of
- 13:11Speaker 3: the mob guys. My name is Craig Colonese. You have
- 13:15Speaker 3: Wayne Dolcefino on special assignment today. I always debate how
- 13:20Speaker 3: much I should talk about Hasan Piker because I do
- 13:23Speaker 3: think he's someone.
- 13:25Speaker 2: And I listen to The Dana Show a lot. The
- 13:27Speaker 2: Dana Show is from 2 to 4 o'clock. I fill
- 13:29Speaker 2: in on it occasionally.
- 13:30Speaker 3: Actually, I have fill-in shifts coming up on that show
- 13:32Speaker 3: that I should probably let Russell know about at some point.
- 13:35Speaker 3: I got to find the text from Kane for what
- 13:38Speaker 3: those were. But anyway, I listen to her show a
- 13:41Speaker 3: lot and she goes after Hassan often because he deserves
- 13:44Speaker 3: it because he's an insane, crazy person who is very influential.
- 13:48Speaker 3: If you don't know who the guy is, he is
- 13:50Speaker 3: a Twitch streamer out of California, but he's more than that.
- 13:53Speaker 3: He's very influential on the left and especially with younger Democrats.
- 13:57Speaker 2: He did a CNN interview in.
- 14:00Speaker 3: Which he said typical crazy stuff And he tried to
- 14:03Speaker 3: couch it in sounding more logical than he actually is.
- 14:07Speaker 3: But this, to me, is terrifying because I've heard this
- 14:10Speaker 3: sort of belief or a version of it, what I'm
- 14:12Speaker 3: about to play as an answer to a question from
- 14:15Speaker 3: Hasan Piker.
- 14:17Speaker 2: I've heard this sort of belief from some of our listeners.
- 14:19Speaker 3: And I don't think that those listeners are actually on
- 14:21Speaker 3: the same side of the political aisle as I am.
- 14:24Speaker 3: But I've definitely heard some of the listeners say things
- 14:27Speaker 3: that mirror this. And I'm terrified that these are our thoughts.
- 14:31Speaker 3: that are gaining wider acceptance because they're so idiotic. But here,
- 14:36Speaker 3: let's play one of these. Hold on, actually, I've got
- 14:39Speaker 3: to make sure that you can hear this audio. That's
- 14:40Speaker 3: a me problem because I was screening it. Because sometimes
- 14:43Speaker 3: CNN drops an F-bomb, which I'm not used to, but
- 14:46Speaker 3: that does happen.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Jake Tapper loves the F-bomb. Here we go. Do you
- 14:49Speaker 2: think the Middle East would be more stable if Iran
- 14:51Speaker 2: had a nuclear weapon? I believe yes.
- 14:53Speaker 14: I think that the Middle East would be more stable.
- 14:55Speaker 14: Having said that, once again, I'm not advocating. I'm not
- 14:58Speaker 14: trying to send Iran enriched nuclear uranium. Nuclear-grade enriched uranium.
- 15:04Speaker 14: But with respect to Iran, I think the nuclear conversation.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Is a distraction. Stupid.
- 15:10Speaker 14: Time and time again, they have shown the Iranian government,
- 15:13Speaker 14: regardless of whether you want to trust them or not,
- 15:14Speaker 14: you can just look at their actions.
- 15:16Speaker 2: You can't trust them.
- 15:16Speaker 14: They have proven that they are utilizing the conversation of
- 15:21Speaker 14: enriched uranium as a point of leverage to bring America
- 15:24Speaker 14: back to the table to get sanctions relief.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Yeah, so no. No part of that. actually makes sense.
- 15:31Speaker 2: And here's the reason why.
- 15:32Speaker 3: They hide centrifuges all over their country. They put them
- 15:39Speaker 3: in places that would be very difficult for us to find,
- 15:41Speaker 3: very difficult for any organization, any agency that's trying to
- 15:45Speaker 3: make sure that Iran is being transparent about their nuclear capabilities,
- 15:50Speaker 3: finding them.
- 15:51Speaker 2: There have been countless amounts.
- 15:53Speaker 3: Of stories over the last several years where Iran has
- 15:56Speaker 3: been deceptive, we found stuff in bunkers, all kinds of
- 15:59Speaker 3: places that it wasn't supposed to be, all of that
- 16:02Speaker 3: is an attempt to further enrich uranium to make it
- 16:06Speaker 3: nuclear weapon capable. And Hassan Piker started the answer by
- 16:10Speaker 3: saying the most dangerous thing that he could, that it
- 16:13Speaker 3: would actually be a safer place if Iran had a
- 16:15Speaker 3: nuclear weapon, which when I judge that country.
- 16:19Speaker 2: By its actions.
- 16:20Speaker 3: I know definitively that would not make any part of
- 16:25Speaker 3: any of the world safer. The world would not be
- 16:28Speaker 3: any safer. The United States, of course, would not be
- 16:30Speaker 3: safer if Iran had a nuclear weapon. It's idiotic to
- 16:34Speaker 3: hear it said. But then also, the other thing that's
- 16:37Speaker 3: a through line on the left is some desire to
- 16:40Speaker 3: trust Iran more than our country. And look, I'm not
- 16:45Speaker 3: going to tell you that we don't lie, that politicians
- 16:48Speaker 3: don't lie. I'm not going to tell you that there
- 16:49Speaker 3: aren't a bunch of rhinos who pretend they're something that
- 16:52Speaker 3: they're actually not. None of those things are things that
- 16:55Speaker 3: I'm going to disagree with if I have a conversation
- 16:59Speaker 3: about the flaws within our country and our political system.
- 17:04Speaker 2: But we're still not Iran.
- 17:06Speaker 3: And anyone that compares us to that country or pretends
- 17:08Speaker 3: that we're similar or an Hassan Piker or In the
- 17:12Speaker 3: case of Hassan Piker, he actually went even further to
- 17:14Speaker 3: compare us to al-Qaeda.
- 17:15Speaker 2: That's ridiculous. That's insane.
- 17:19Speaker 3: And that's the kind of thing, the dangerous kind of thing,
- 17:21Speaker 3: that I think is causing more people to actually hate
- 17:24Speaker 3: our country than be proud to be a part of
- 17:27Speaker 3: the United States.
- 17:28Speaker 2: And it's simply not true.
- 17:30Speaker 3: It's also based so ridiculously in lies, so ridiculously in
- 17:35Speaker 3: things that these people can't prove. They'll say it, but
- 17:38Speaker 3: they definitely can't prove it. And it's sort of amazing here.
- 17:42Speaker 3: I want to play one other thing. Piker said that
- 17:44Speaker 3: America was worse than Al Qaeda. And Abdul Al Saeed
- 17:49Speaker 3: is someone that has to defend himself now with using
- 17:52Speaker 3: Hassan Piker as much as he does. But I do
- 17:55Speaker 3: think what's amazing is the other Democrats out there who
- 17:57Speaker 3: all want to say that this Hassan Piker guy, it's fine,
- 18:00Speaker 3: whatever he says, even if it's crazy.
- 18:03Speaker 2: Let's just not think about it.
- 18:04Speaker 3: But they love the influence and the ability for this
- 18:07Speaker 3: person to push people to vote. on the side of
- 18:10Speaker 3: the aisle they want them voting on. Here's a little
- 18:11Speaker 3: bit from Fox.
- 18:12Speaker 15: Democrats on the Hill forced to respond to that earlier today.
- 18:15Speaker 11: Hassan Piker told Axios that America is pound for pound.
- 18:20Speaker 16: Worse than Al Qaeda.
- 18:22Speaker 11: He's wrong.
- 18:23Speaker 2: He's been on the campaign.
- 18:24Speaker 16: He's wrong.
- 18:25Speaker 15: I don't know this guy, but obviously that's a sentence
- 18:28Speaker 15: that makes no sense.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Obviously, he's an issue that came up in the Abdul campaign.
- 18:34Speaker 5: And Abdul is going to have to be addressing that.
- 18:37Speaker 2: Yeah, he will.
- 18:37Speaker 3: He'll have to address it more because Abdul had him
- 18:40Speaker 3: all over the place. And Hassan Piker is someone who is,
- 18:42Speaker 3: as I said, gaining a whole lot of influence within
- 18:44Speaker 3: the Democratic side of the aisle, which also tells you
- 18:47Speaker 3: something else, something very important. It shows you the reality
- 18:52Speaker 3: of the feelings, the thoughts that Democrats have. When you
- 18:57Speaker 3: watch someone spike in popularity on the left, like Hassan Piker,
- 19:01Speaker 3: You have to assume that some of those people ideologically
- 19:05Speaker 3: agree with them. You don't have to assume everybody does.
- 19:08Speaker 3: I'm not going to pretend that, say, everyone that flocked to, say,
- 19:11Speaker 3: the Candace Owens podcast agreed with the crazy thing she
- 19:15Speaker 3: was saying. There are people that want to watch the
- 19:17Speaker 3: cars that are, you know, in the accident off on
- 19:20Speaker 3: the side of the road that'll.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Just stare at them as you drive by.
- 19:24Speaker 3: Those people exist, and those people certainly go to social
- 19:27Speaker 3: media things and view stuff that they may not agree
- 19:30Speaker 3: with because— They find it interesting. But I do think
- 19:34Speaker 3: there's people that have to agree with that. It's not
- 19:37Speaker 3: all popularity based on people that are just watching the
- 19:40Speaker 3: car crash. It is people that think that these things
- 19:43Speaker 3: are accurate. And actually, you know what's really interesting to
- 19:46Speaker 3: me about that? I'll say something kind of a little
- 19:49Speaker 3: bit different. and then we probably got to take a
- 19:51Speaker 3: break in a couple minutes so that we're ready for
- 19:53Speaker 3: Orlando Sanchez to call in just after 7.30. But I
- 19:56Speaker 3: will say part of the misunderstanding with President Trump and
- 20:02Speaker 3: the value of Donald Trump, the politician, was that a
- 20:06Speaker 3: lot of people, and this was maybe true more in
- 20:09Speaker 3: his first campaign than his second time in office. But
- 20:12Speaker 3: a lot of people would tell me that he created
- 20:14Speaker 3: thoughts on the right that they didn't like, that these beliefs,
- 20:19Speaker 3: these whatever, and I didn't agree with the premise at all.
- 20:21Speaker 3: I don't think the right is, certainly I'm a part
- 20:23Speaker 3: of it, is hateful or racist or any of that stuff.
- 20:25Speaker 3: So most of the argument was crap. But the thing
- 20:28Speaker 3: I would always say to someone when they said that
- 20:31Speaker 3: is that simply doesn't make sense. An individual who rises
- 20:34Speaker 3: in popularity like that is actually saying things that a
- 20:38Speaker 3: vast majority of the party already thought or believed and
- 20:41Speaker 3: wanted to hear. And what actually I think was really
- 20:44Speaker 3: attractive about President Trump from a you-wanted-to-vote-for-him standpoint was the
- 20:49Speaker 3: amount of times he just said the simple thing or
- 20:52Speaker 3: attacked the politician on the stage for being a piece
- 20:55Speaker 3: of crap and how many people applauded that because of
- 20:58Speaker 3: how rarely we saw that in the world of politics.
- 21:00Speaker 3: Politicians pretended that everybody in that profession was honorable when
- 21:05Speaker 3: we know the vast majority of people are not. So
- 21:07Speaker 3: I think the refreshing thing that President Trump did when
- 21:11Speaker 3: running for office is he he dropped the fake version
- 21:14Speaker 3: of respect that they all seem to have for each other.
- 21:17Speaker 3: But nonetheless, I've said that before and I'll say it again.
- 21:19Speaker 2: I don't think that a politician, any politician invents ideology
- 21:25Speaker 2: that people then flock to. I think people feel and
- 21:29Speaker 2: think certain things. And the politician who wins an election best,
- 21:34Speaker 2: you know, captures those thoughts and those beliefs. And right
- 21:37Speaker 2: now on the left, you are seeing a lot of
- 21:39Speaker 2: people rise in popularity that think ridiculous and insane things
- 21:45Speaker 2: very far on the left in socialist ideology and Marxist ideology.
- 21:49Speaker 2: And so you say to yourself, how?
- 21:51Speaker 3: Like the other thing that I'll say just quickly about
- 21:53Speaker 3: this is you ask yourself the simple question, how is
- 21:56Speaker 3: this becoming more popular? And the only answer I've ever
- 21:59Speaker 3: been able to come up with is anger. There's a
- 22:02Speaker 3: lot of people who are angry that they haven't gotten
- 22:04Speaker 3: in life what they thought they were supposed to get.
- 22:06Speaker 3: what they were promised, whether they think they were promised
- 22:09Speaker 3: that by society or, I don't know, their family. There
- 22:13Speaker 3: are a lot of young people who feel like their
- 22:15Speaker 3: life is not where it's supposed to be at whatever
- 22:17Speaker 3: age they are, and they're upset about that.
- 22:19Speaker 2: So anger is one thing.
- 22:21Speaker 3: The other thing is stupidity or lack of knowledge and
- 22:25Speaker 3: a lack of understanding of history and what happens when
- 22:29Speaker 3: you put people in power that want control of everything
- 22:33Speaker 3: through the government and claim they're going to do it
- 22:35Speaker 3: to benefit you. communists, Marxists fail time and again. Most
- 22:41Speaker 3: of us who actually have any semblance of history know that.
- 22:44Speaker 3: I think some of the youngest people who haven't really
- 22:45Speaker 3: seen it firsthand or any story about it firsthand all
- 22:49Speaker 3: over the news, for some reason, seem to not know that.
- 22:51Speaker 2: But I think those are the two reasons that that
- 22:53Speaker 2: has spiked in popularity.
- 22:54Speaker 3: But anyway, like I said, we should take a break
- 22:57Speaker 3: because Orlando Sanchez will be coming up in just a
- 22:59Speaker 3: little bit.
- 23:00Speaker 2: I think he's going to be on right at 730
- 23:02Speaker 2: on the show.
- 23:04Speaker 3: And I very much look forward to talking to him
- 23:05Speaker 3: about a a tremendous amount of stuff, but we will
- 23:07Speaker 3: focus a lot specifically on the increase in property taxes
- 23:14Speaker 3: that's been suggested here in Harris County and been voted
- 23:17Speaker 3: on and they're shoving through because of how terrible it is,
- 23:21Speaker 3: how awful it is at this time for the Democrats,
- 23:25Speaker 3: the people that are winning some arguments. I'm not sure
- 23:29Speaker 3: if they're actually going to win the races when it
- 23:31Speaker 3: comes to November, but they're winning some arguments on a
- 23:35Speaker 3: national stage by pretending that they're the people that will
- 23:38Speaker 3: do more for you financially, that they'll protect you more,
- 23:41Speaker 3: that they'll help you more. They're claiming that they're the
- 23:44Speaker 3: individuals who will make things better for you. And we're
- 23:47Speaker 3: seeing firsthand in Harris County the ways that they're refusing to.
- 23:51Speaker 2: Do that and the ways that they're doing exactly the opposite.
- 23:54Speaker 3: The Biden policies, the Democratic policies, at whatever level you
- 23:58Speaker 3: want to talk about them, absolutely harm us more than
- 24:01Speaker 3: help us.
- 24:02Speaker 2: And we have a really easy example here.
- 24:05Speaker 3: And a really great politician running for office in Orlando
- 24:08Speaker 3: Sanchez who wants.
- 24:09Speaker 2: To stop that stuff.
- 24:10Speaker 3: So we'll take a break, we'll come back, and we'll
- 24:11Speaker 3: talk to him just after this quick commercial break on
- 24:17Speaker 3: The Voice of Texas, KSEV, 700 a.m.

- 25:30Speaker 7: What do we really know about James Tallarico? Tallarico said.
- 25:34Speaker 5: Defending trans Texas is something we have to do every day.
- 25:38Speaker 8: Tallarico supported using taxpayer dollars for sex change surgeries on
- 25:42Speaker 8: young children, claimed denying their child's gender identity is abusive,
- 25:46Speaker 8: said the trans community needs abortion care too, and even
- 25:50Speaker 8: called Jesus a radical feminist and said God is non-binary.
- 25:55Speaker 5: Defending trans Texas is something we have to do every day.
- 25:58Speaker 7: But it gets worse.
- 26:00Speaker 8: James Tallarico voted to allow biological men access to women's
- 26:03Speaker 8: bathrooms in schools and for biological boys to play in
- 26:07Speaker 8: girls' sports, saying some things are more important than fair
- 26:11Speaker 8: competition in sports.
- 26:13Speaker 5: Defending trans Texas is something we have to do every day.

- 28:13Speaker 2: This is 700 AM, The Voice of Texas, KSEV Radio.
- 28:19Speaker 3: We call ourselves the Mob Guys. I am Craig Colonese.
- 28:22Speaker 3: He's Wayne Dolcefino, two Italians from the East Coast. And
- 28:27Speaker 3: oftentimes what I actually see in the world of politics
- 28:29Speaker 3: feels much more like the mob.
- 28:31Speaker 2: Than what we actually joke about here on this show.
- 28:33Speaker 3: But one guy who I think would actually fight the
- 28:36Speaker 3: political mob is Orlando Sanchez. Orlando Sanchez, thank you very
- 28:40Speaker 3: much for making some time.
- 28:41Speaker 2: Welcome to the show.
- 28:42Speaker 3: I want to start immediately by asking you about the
- 28:45Speaker 3: property tax, historic property tax.
- 28:47Speaker 2: Hike that happened just yesterday, I think was voted on yesterday.
- 28:52Speaker 9: Well, first of all, good morning. It's wholly unforgivable when
- 28:56Speaker 9: you start looking at the Harris County budget. You know,
- 28:58Speaker 9: when I was county treasurer, We left with money in
- 29:02Speaker 9: the bank. We hadn't increased property taxes in 26 years.
- 29:09Speaker 9: And in just a short period of time, since the
- 29:12Speaker 9: conservatives were escorted out of office, they doubled the county budget,
- 29:16Speaker 9: which used to be about a billion and a half
- 29:19Speaker 9: to now about 3.5 billion. That's just the general fund. And,
- 29:24Speaker 9: you know, when you look at, it's just intellectual dishonesty.
- 29:27Speaker 9: You know, when the left is talking about affordability, What
- 29:31Speaker 9: happens at the local government is they've increased our property
- 29:34Speaker 9: taxes back to back to back for years in a row,
- 29:38Speaker 9: doubled the budget. And our salaries have not increased. Our
- 29:42Speaker 9: salaries haven't doubled. And there are more people now paying
- 29:46Speaker 9: more in taxes than they did for their principal and
- 29:50Speaker 9: interest on their homes. Basically, you are now renting your
- 29:53Speaker 9: house from Harris County.
- 29:56Speaker 2: It's crazy.
- 29:57Speaker 3: And honestly, the thing that shocked me most about this topic, Orlando,
- 30:01Speaker 3: and I think Lena Hildago just skipped the vote yesterday,
- 30:04Speaker 3: but she even said something negative about it. And it
- 30:06Speaker 3: feels like it gets to a certain place. And granted,
- 30:09Speaker 3: she's not running for office anymore. And of course, your
- 30:12Speaker 3: competition would probably greenlight a crazy tax increases even beyond this.
- 30:17Speaker 3: But it's just interesting to even hear one of those voices,
- 30:20Speaker 3: one that the rest of the Democrats don't care about anymore,
- 30:23Speaker 3: actually saying some semblance of But I love what you
- 30:26Speaker 3: just called it because it is, in every sense of
- 30:29Speaker 3: the word, completely illogical for us right now. And Bill
- 30:33Speaker 3: King made a really good point on what's your point
- 30:36Speaker 3: over the I think that was on Friday or Saturday
- 30:38Speaker 3: of last week where he said there's so many ways
- 30:41Speaker 3: in which Harris County is doing worse, not better. And
- 30:44Speaker 3: so how could you possibly think now's the right time
- 30:46Speaker 3: to try to take more money, increase the budget more
- 30:49Speaker 3: like none of that makes sense from the position of
- 30:52Speaker 3: what's actually going on day to day within the county?
- 30:56Speaker 9: Well, and I watched Bill, and I actually met with
- 30:59Speaker 9: him last week. We went over the budget. And his
- 31:02Speaker 9: comment is, if you noticed, he said on What's Your Point,
- 31:07Speaker 9: that of the $ 325 million additional revenue, none of it,
- 31:14Speaker 9: because the Democrats are claiming that this was mandated by
- 31:18Speaker 9: the state of Texas, none of the $ 325 million.
- 31:23Speaker 9: Is mandated by the state. In fact, he pointed out
- 31:27Speaker 9: that they're hiring 98 new staff members, 70 of which
- 31:31Speaker 9: are going to be employed by Precinct 4. That's just unacceptable.
- 31:37Speaker 2: Yes, it's unacceptable. It's crazy.
- 31:38Speaker 3: Beyond the conversation about taxes and those issues and what
- 31:43Speaker 3: you would do if you actually become the next judge,
- 31:47Speaker 3: I would also ask you about something that I think
- 31:49Speaker 3: you don't get enough credit for because it's talked about
- 31:50Speaker 3: a lot, being much, much tougher.
- 31:53Speaker 2: On criminals and the criminal justice policies that we have.
- 31:56Speaker 3: Do you mind talking a little bit about that as
- 31:59Speaker 3: one of your stances as Harris County judge?
- 32:02Speaker 9: Well, to quote my former colleague, because if you remember,
- 32:05Speaker 9: I started my career at Harris County as a probation officer,
- 32:09Speaker 9: so I have a little experience in the criminal justice system.
- 32:12Speaker 9: But Andy says that victims are not volunteers in the
- 32:17Speaker 9: criminal justice system. They didn't ask to participate. But it's
- 32:19Speaker 9: all upside down, Craig. Today, we have an increase of
- 32:23Speaker 9: 126% in the public defender's office. Now, think about this.
- 32:29Speaker 9: The lawyers for criminal defendants are now paid for by
- 32:33Speaker 9: the taxpayers. The breathalyzer machines for DWI, those charged with DWI,
- 32:39Speaker 9: used to be paid by the defendant. Now they're paid
- 32:42Speaker 9: for by the taxpayer. And in the old days, when
- 32:46Speaker 9: a judge would order an ankle monitor to monitor your location,
- 32:53Speaker 9: that was paid for by the defendant. Today, the taxpayer
- 32:56Speaker 9: pays for it. And to make matters worse, if you recall,
- 32:59Speaker 9: a couple of months ago, a gentleman in the Heights
- 33:02Speaker 9: area murdered his wife, cut off his ankle monitor. And
- 33:05Speaker 9: the department that we fund, which is pretrial services... didn't
- 33:11Speaker 9: work Friday night, Saturday night, Sunday night, until Monday morning
- 33:15Speaker 9: did they not notify the judge, the sheriff, or the
- 33:18Speaker 9: bail bond company that the defendant was in Italy after
- 33:22Speaker 9: murdering his wife. That is a complete failure of the
- 33:26Speaker 9: criminal justice system.
- 33:27Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 33:27Speaker 3: No, absolutely you're right. And it's the kind of thing
- 33:29Speaker 3: that we need to do. We need to profoundly change.
- 33:32Speaker 3: And we should have here in Harris County and throughout
- 33:35Speaker 3: all of Texas. I actually want to ask you a
- 33:37Speaker 3: little bit differently about, then maybe you've heard it before,
- 33:41Speaker 3: probably a question you've been asked. I think one of
- 33:43Speaker 3: the biggest travesties of Harris County, and I'm a fairly
- 33:46Speaker 3: new Texan. I moved here about a year and a
- 33:48Speaker 3: half ago from Chicago, and I thought I was fleeing
- 33:51Speaker 3: insanity in Illinois and Chicago and getting to reason and
- 33:56Speaker 3: logical thought by going to Texas. And yet Harris County
- 34:00Speaker 3: specifically is so disappointing as far.
- 34:03Speaker 2: As that goes.
- 34:04Speaker 3: What other things can we do to better reflect the
- 34:06Speaker 3: values of Texas and Texans that are not at all
- 34:10Speaker 3: apparent within day-to-day life here in this county?
- 34:15Speaker 9: Harris County, like every other county in the state of Texas,
- 34:20Speaker 9: operates under state statutes. In other words, we operate for
- 34:25Speaker 9: the benefit of the state of Texas. As you know,
- 34:27Speaker 9: our legislature only meets once every two years, so they
- 34:30Speaker 9: created 254 counties to manage the business of the state.
- 34:34Speaker 9: We've gone way above and beyond what the state mandates.
- 34:38Speaker 9: We've gotten into all kinds of activities at taxpayer expense
- 34:43Speaker 9: that we have no business being involved in, whether it's
- 34:46Speaker 9: child care or providing legal aid at taxpayer expense to
- 34:51Speaker 9: criminal undocumented aliens in the Harris County Jail, to providing
- 34:57Speaker 9: free lawyers for violent criminals. It's completely upside down, Craig.
- 35:02Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 35:03Speaker 2: No, you're right about that. It's absolutely upside down.
- 35:05Speaker 3: One last question that I want to ask you about,
- 35:07Speaker 3: or one last topic that we can discuss, energy and
- 35:10Speaker 3: energy policies and some of the crazy stuff that's going on.
- 35:14Speaker 3: I think the G20 Energy Summit happened here in Houston.
- 35:18Speaker 2: Just a few days ago.
- 35:19Speaker 3: We had Doug Burgum on the show talking a little
- 35:22Speaker 3: bit about it. How would you, in that role as
- 35:25Speaker 3: Harris County judge, help the energy overregulation discussion? Because there's
- 35:31Speaker 3: so many people, and Doug was saying this, that don't
- 35:33Speaker 3: understand how much red tape was created during the Biden
- 35:36Speaker 3: administration on a national level and in places like California
- 35:40Speaker 3: that actually are restricting a lot of what would be
- 35:43Speaker 3: valuable energy and lower costs in our county, in our country,
- 35:47Speaker 3: in our society. They don't seem to understand it's not
- 35:51Speaker 3: just some conflict going on in the Middle East. It's
- 35:53Speaker 3: a lot of policy decision making over the last few
- 35:55Speaker 3: years that needs to be fixed.
- 35:59Speaker 9: We have to create an environment that's good for all businesses.
- 36:02Speaker 9: But as you probably have heard by now, we are
- 36:05Speaker 9: the energy capital of the world. Not only does the
- 36:09Speaker 9: G20 come here, but all of the energy companies come
- 36:13Speaker 9: to Houston once a year at the OTC, the Offshore
- 36:17Speaker 9: Technology Conference. We have to make sure that we don't
- 36:20Speaker 9: tax our businesses out of existence. You know, this tax increase,
- 36:24Speaker 9: by the way, people think it just affects your home. Craig,
- 36:28Speaker 9: it doesn't. If you're an apartment dweller, you're going to
- 36:30Speaker 9: pay more.
- 36:31Speaker 2: When you go to.
- 36:32Speaker 9: Home Depot and buy materials, you're going to pay more.
- 36:35Speaker 9: And Kroger and HEB and our grocery stores aren't going
- 36:39Speaker 9: to absorb that property tax increase. Guess who they're going
- 36:42Speaker 9: to pass it on to? Those of us that are
- 36:45Speaker 9: trying to feed our families. So this tax increase, it
- 36:49Speaker 9: has tremendous tentacles that are going to affect the cost
- 36:53Speaker 9: of living. And again, intellectual dishonesty from the left. They
- 36:57Speaker 9: talk about affordability, but they hammer us at the local
- 37:01Speaker 9: level with billions of dollars in increase in budgets, 30
- 37:06Speaker 9: percent tax increase over the last 36 months. And frankly,
- 37:10Speaker 9: it's just out of control.
- 37:11Speaker 2: Yeah, no, you're right about that. Is there anything else
- 37:12Speaker 2: you want to talk about? I don't want to let
- 37:14Speaker 2: you go.
- 37:15Speaker 3: Without giving you the floor to discuss a topic that's
- 37:17Speaker 3: maybe not in my brain, but something you've been talking
- 37:19Speaker 3: about or hearing from people as you're going around and campaigning.
- 37:25Speaker 9: Five and a half million residents live in Harris County
- 37:29Speaker 9: and just under 700,000 will decide the direction of Harris
- 37:33Speaker 9: County beginning October 19th during early voting and on election day,
- 37:38Speaker 9: November 3rd. It'll take you 15, 20 minutes to go vote.
- 37:44Speaker 9: Make a difference for your family, your children, and your grandchildren.
- 37:48Speaker 9: We cannot continue down this route. of our young people
- 37:53Speaker 9: embracing socialism. I came to Houston in 1962. I've been
- 37:57Speaker 9: here a little longer than you. And the reason I
- 38:01Speaker 9: came here is fleeing communism and socialism. And I tell
- 38:04Speaker 9: people all the time, in my 68 years of life,
- 38:07Speaker 9: I'd never thought I'd be running against socialists wanting to
- 38:12Speaker 9: be at the helm of Harris County. Make sure and
- 38:16Speaker 9: go vote. It's all about turnout.
- 38:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 38:19Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I do think that that's before I let
- 38:21Speaker 2: you go.
- 38:21Speaker 3: I do think that that's true, that a lot of
- 38:23Speaker 3: the left's rhetoric, especially on a local level, they seem
- 38:27Speaker 3: to expect a lot of the rational, sane people to
- 38:31Speaker 3: stay home. They want to radicalize that small amount of
- 38:34Speaker 3: very active people that they have, get a lot of
- 38:36Speaker 3: them to turn out and vote in elections that profoundly
- 38:40Speaker 3: change things for us. And I know on a national level,
- 38:42Speaker 3: part of the argument on the left has been change
- 38:45Speaker 3: the leadership because you're not happy with this or that.
- 38:49Speaker 3: And I'm fascinated with that idea on a local level
- 38:52Speaker 3: because Democrats have been in charge for a while in
- 38:54Speaker 3: Harris County.
- 38:55Speaker 2: Democrats have done a lot of bad things in Harris County.
- 38:58Speaker 3: And if you do want to see change happen, maybe
- 39:01Speaker 3: you have to start locally and maybe you have to
- 39:03Speaker 3: put people in a position of power like you to
- 39:06Speaker 3: make things better, to make things to make spending just
- 39:09Speaker 3: wholeheartedly more logical and less insane. I don't know if
- 39:14Speaker 3: there's really even a question there, but I'd love for
- 39:16Speaker 3: you to respond to the idea that I find it
- 39:18Speaker 3: so amazing that these crazy radical people on the left
- 39:21Speaker 3: can be screaming they want change at the top of
- 39:24Speaker 3: their ticket while ignoring all the change that probably should
- 39:27Speaker 3: be happening toward the bottom of it.
- 39:30Speaker 9: Well, I think you ask yourself one question. I spent
- 39:33Speaker 9: 12 years as the Harris County treasurer. By the way,
- 39:36Speaker 9: never arrested. But Frankly, I tell people, be intellectually honest.
- 39:46Speaker 9: Are you better off today than you were when the
- 39:50Speaker 9: conservatives ran Harris County? We never raised the tax rate.
- 39:54Speaker 9: We had money in the bank. Our bond ratings were excellent.
- 39:59Speaker 9: the criminal justice system was working, are you better off
- 40:02Speaker 9: today than you were in 2018? And if you're intellectually honest,
- 40:06Speaker 9: you will say absolutely not.
- 40:08Speaker 2: Yeah, no, absolutely.
- 40:09Speaker 3: Well, thank you very much for the time, Orlando Sanchez.
- 40:12Speaker 3: Where do people go to get information about you? They
- 40:14Speaker 3: just go to, what's the website again?
- 40:17Speaker 9: OrlandoSanchez.com.
- 40:18Speaker 12: That's it.
- 40:19Speaker 2: That's easy. All right.
- 40:20Speaker 3: Well, thank you so much, sir. I hope to talk
- 40:21Speaker 3: again soon. I know you're busy, but it was a
- 40:24Speaker 3: real pleasure to talk to you today.
- 40:26Speaker 9: Enjoy the weekend, Craig.
- 40:27Speaker 15: You too.
- 40:28Speaker 2: That is Orlando Sanchez. He is running for the Harris
- 40:30Speaker 2: County judge position, and he deserves it, man. He does.
- 40:36Speaker 2: My favorite thing that Orlando Sanchez said just a moment
- 40:39Speaker 2: ago was we just.
- 40:40Speaker 3: Need to be more rational. And you know who he
- 40:43Speaker 3: agrees with so much on that? Wayne Dolcefino and myself.
- 40:46Speaker 3: When we say we just have to go back to
- 40:49Speaker 3: common sense thinking, common sense approaches to a lot of
- 40:52Speaker 3: our challenges.
- 40:53Speaker 2: And not blast another horrible.
- 40:55Speaker 3: And historically large property tax increase into all of Harris County,
- 41:01Speaker 3: which is going to be terrible, as you just heard.

- 42:26Speaker 17: When it comes to garage doors, no one knows.
- 42:29Speaker 7: More than the doctor.
- 42:33Speaker 10: If there's just one piece of advice I could give
- 42:36Speaker 10: every homeowner, it's this. If your garage door spring breaks,
- 42:39Speaker 10: don't try to fix it. Those springs are under incredible tension.
- 42:43Speaker 10: They're designed to lift the garage door that can weigh two, three,
- 42:46Speaker 10: or even 400 pounds. When they fail, they can be
- 42:49Speaker 10: dangerous without the right tools and the right training. Hi,
- 42:52Speaker 10: I'm Tommy Mello, CEO of Garage Door Doctor. The good news,
- 42:56Speaker 10: most spring replacements are very straightforward when performed by an
- 42:59Speaker 10: expert technician. We use high-quality springs designed to last a lifetime.
- 43:03Speaker 10: And we stand behind our work so you can have
- 43:05Speaker 10: confidence every time your garage door opens. When it comes
- 43:09Speaker 10: to springs, leave it to the professionals. Locally operated, focused
- 43:13Speaker 10: on serving families and the community better. Save $ 100 on
- 43:16Speaker 10: a new spring replacement today. From repairs to upgrades, call

- 43:40Speaker 16: On KSCV, The Voice of Texas.
- 43:51Speaker 2: This is KSCV Mornings. On The Voice of Texas, my
- 43:56Speaker 2: name is Craig Collins. Wayne Dolcefino is on special assignment today.
- 44:00Speaker 2: My name is Craig Collins. I just did it. The
- 44:02Speaker 2: fake name, it's still in there. It bounces around in
- 44:05Speaker 2: my brain. I don't know why.
- 44:07Speaker 3: I should have asked Orlando Sanchez about some of the
- 44:09Speaker 3: controversies of his competition because Dr. Letitia Plummer is terrible
- 44:16Speaker 3: and has a lot of different issues. But two of
- 44:19Speaker 3: my favorite that have been more recent were all the
- 44:21Speaker 3: campaign finance things she was accused of.
- 44:24Speaker 2: This happened back in July.
- 44:25Speaker 3: I think they submitted a correction a couple weeks ago
- 44:29Speaker 3: in early September where they essentially admitted.
- 44:32Speaker 2: That they got a lot of stuff wrong.
- 44:35Speaker 3: But it was a anonymous complaint that was actually sent
- 44:38Speaker 3: in to the Texas Ethics Commission in July that caused
- 44:42Speaker 3: the plumber campaign and someone who has a history of
- 44:46Speaker 3: being accused of financial and medical and all kinds of malpractice.
- 44:52Speaker 3: But it's interesting to watch that complaint pop up, and
- 44:56Speaker 3: then eventually a few months later, watch the corrections all
- 44:59Speaker 3: demonstrate the validity of said complaint. And then Plummer's campaign
- 45:03Speaker 3: claimed that they just, they made some accidents or some
- 45:06Speaker 3: whoopsies in the world of math. And then also the debate,
- 45:09Speaker 3: the virtual debate that didn't happen, that was supposed to happen,
- 45:12Speaker 3: I think, earlier this month. And I think there will
- 45:16Speaker 3: be another debate and how both sides claim different things.
- 45:19Speaker 3: Orlando connected to a virtual debate Easily. You know, this
- 45:23Speaker 3: makes me crazy, actually. I really should ask Orlando about this.
- 45:26Speaker 3: I regret not doing this now. Because I wanted to
- 45:29Speaker 3: focus on his campaign stuff and not necessarily this. But
- 45:32Speaker 3: as a guy who really loves technology, I'm a technology nerd,
- 45:36Speaker 3: it's so easy to prep someone effectively, especially if you
- 45:41Speaker 3: can be in the same place as them, to do
- 45:44Speaker 3: the technology things.
- 45:45Speaker 2: We have today well.
- 45:47Speaker 3: You have to prep them. You have to be around them.
- 45:49Speaker 3: And if you're to the degree... where you're running for
- 45:51Speaker 3: an office like county judge in Harris County and you
- 45:55Speaker 3: claim you've raised hundreds of thousands of dollars, you have
- 45:58Speaker 3: the ability to spend a little bit of money on
- 46:00Speaker 3: a tech savvy person that can even just like be
- 46:02Speaker 3: there with you to set up your Zoom call or
- 46:06Speaker 3: whatever it is. And that still didn't go well. That
- 46:08Speaker 3: is a myriad of technical issues. And so then Plummer's campaign,
- 46:12Speaker 3: I think, claimed that Orlando eventually was like, I'm not
- 46:16Speaker 3: coming back if you finally fixed your issues. And Orlando
- 46:19Speaker 3: said they had a ton of time and they had
- 46:21Speaker 3: a lot of technical issues and they never were fixed.
- 46:23Speaker 3: And she just kept dropping out and disconnecting. And so,
- 46:26Speaker 3: you know, you can't do that. And so I found
- 46:29Speaker 3: that uniquely entertaining earlier this month, again, that that was
- 46:33Speaker 3: a problem where the virtual debate dispute became a thing
- 46:37Speaker 3: because it shows the seriousness of one candidate and the
- 46:40Speaker 3: lack of seriousness of the other. And actually, it shows
- 46:43Speaker 3: something worse. I will say this in regards to this election.
- 46:48Speaker 3: There are people on the left who just assume they're
- 46:50Speaker 3: going to win. They just assume it. Plummer's campaign believes
- 46:55Speaker 3: she can't possibly lose. They think that right now. They
- 46:59Speaker 3: behave that way when they show up or fail to
- 47:02Speaker 3: show up for a digital debate because they don't put
- 47:06Speaker 3: the effort in to make sure the technology works effectively, which, again,
- 47:10Speaker 3: easy to do with prep time in our society. Wayne
- 47:13Speaker 3: Dolcefino does the show every day right now from his office.
- 47:17Speaker 3: At least he did most of the show's I think
- 47:19Speaker 3: he's only done a few shows here in person, and
- 47:21Speaker 3: then it's been almost entirely in his office. And sure,
- 47:23Speaker 3: we've had technical ups and downs a little bit, but again,
- 47:27Speaker 3: he's also figuring that out completely on his own on
- 47:30Speaker 3: a daily basis because we're not forcing somebody else to
- 47:32Speaker 3: be in the room over there. And for a one-off
- 47:35Speaker 3: political debate, you'd think you'd have a tech-savvy person standing
- 47:39Speaker 3: near Plummer if she doesn't know what she's doing.
- 47:41Speaker 2: But it's just amazing because what.
- 47:44Speaker 3: We need to do, and actually I'll Say it away that, again,
- 47:50Speaker 3: I think a lot of people on the left are
- 47:52Speaker 3: saying certain things, and some people, unfortunately, on the far
- 47:55Speaker 3: right are saying this too. We need to wake up
- 47:58Speaker 3: our politicians by kicking a lot of them out of
- 48:01Speaker 3: these jobs that they think that they're just going to get.
- 48:05Speaker 3: There are a lot of entitled behaving politicians. Like something
- 48:08Speaker 3: that actually drives me crazy, and it's driven me crazy
- 48:11Speaker 3: for a long time in the world of politics, is
- 48:13Speaker 3: how every year, whether it's a presidential election or whether
- 48:16Speaker 3: it's something like this, a midterm election season. So many
- 48:20Speaker 3: of the races are assumed over before they start. Actually,
- 48:26Speaker 3: Carmen Montiel was running for office here in Harris County
- 48:29Speaker 3: and didn't wind.
- 48:30Speaker 2: Up being successful.
- 48:31Speaker 3: But I think something that really made her go crazy, too,
- 48:34Speaker 3: in conversations I had with her is how often people
- 48:37Speaker 3: just assumed they were going to lose and how we
- 48:39Speaker 3: need the politicians.
- 48:41Speaker 2: To stop believing, especially at a local level. that they're
- 48:44Speaker 2: just guaranteed these positions.
- 48:46Speaker 3: And all the people who complain, all the people who say, like,
- 48:50Speaker 3: this isn't going well, that hasn't gone well over the
- 48:53Speaker 3: last six years, my life and financially, this has gotten worse.
- 48:57Speaker 3: You need to try to show people, at least show
- 49:01Speaker 3: the people that are currently in power, that they're not
- 49:04Speaker 3: just entitled to that power and to do whatever they
- 49:06Speaker 3: want with it by forcing them out. It would wake
- 49:09Speaker 3: up the Democrats on the left and maybe make them
- 49:12Speaker 3: behave more like a John Whitmire Democrat to have them
- 49:16Speaker 3: lose more of these races locally. It's probably not going
- 49:19Speaker 3: to happen, which is a shame, but it drives me crazy.
- 49:22Speaker 3: It drives me crazy that we talk about the House
- 49:24Speaker 3: and the Senate and we talk about these four, five,
- 49:26Speaker 3: six competitive races and even the fact that Texas is
- 49:31Speaker 3: surprisingly or shockingly a competitive race. And I find that
- 49:36Speaker 3: mostly to be true because Tallarico doesn't reflect at all
- 49:39Speaker 3: the value system of the average Texan, which probably should
- 49:43Speaker 3: be a reason that he can't win this election.
- 49:44Speaker 2: But darn, it doesn't matter.
- 49:46Speaker 3: But I just think it's amazing that so many people
- 49:49Speaker 3: out there, especially people in my generation and a younger generation.
- 49:55Speaker 2: I'm 40, though, now, so I'm middle aged, I think.
- 49:57Speaker 3: But nonetheless, like millennials, Gen Zers, they all want things
- 50:01Speaker 3: within our political system to change. And yet the thing
- 50:04Speaker 3: they don't do well is demonstrate to the politicians that
- 50:08Speaker 3: they work for us.
- 50:09Speaker 2: Because if we did that better as a society, as
- 50:12Speaker 2: a as a group.
- 50:13Speaker 3: Of people, if we often demonstrated and I think Cornyn
- 50:17Speaker 3: has learned that lesson. John Cornyn, one of the few
- 50:19Speaker 3: examples of someone that I thought absolutely didn't deserve a
- 50:24Speaker 3: shot at reelection that was told by the the voters
- 50:27Speaker 3: in in our community and in our state that he
- 50:31Speaker 3: wasn't going to get that shot at reelection.
- 50:33Speaker 2: And that's a good thing to me. But that can't
- 50:36Speaker 2: be the exception to the rule. That has to become
- 50:38Speaker 2: the rule.
- 50:39Speaker 3: We need more of these people to be easily voted
- 50:42Speaker 3: out of office if they fail us. And there are
- 50:45Speaker 3: so many people in Harris County is a great example
- 50:47Speaker 3: to go back to it one more time and talk about, again.
- 50:50Speaker 2: The property tax hike, the historic one.
- 50:53Speaker 3: If I rewound the tape like two months, three months, whatever,
- 50:57Speaker 3: I'd need to rewind it for that to not be
- 50:59Speaker 3: a discussion that was in the public eye that a
- 51:01Speaker 3: lot of people weren't paying attention to at, say, a
- 51:04Speaker 3: local level.
- 51:05Speaker 2: Local news wasn't talking about it. None of that.
- 51:08Speaker 3: And I asked you what's one thing that people in
- 51:11Speaker 3: power could do right now to hurt you. You would
- 51:14Speaker 3: say it was to raise prices on stuff, to make
- 51:17Speaker 3: things more expensive. And a property tax hike that hits
- 51:21Speaker 3: the entirety of Harris County, that as Orlando Sanchez pointed out,
- 51:24Speaker 3: will make things more expensive for businesses who will pass
- 51:27Speaker 3: that cost on to you. But a property tax hike
- 51:30Speaker 3: is going to make things worse, not better. raising costs here,
- 51:34Speaker 3: raising costs there, all of it is worse. And historically so,
- 51:39Speaker 3: raising the cost of your day-to-day living is uniquely bad
- 51:43Speaker 3: in our society. I'm laughing as I say this because
- 51:45Speaker 3: I'm amazed that these are the kind of things we
- 51:47Speaker 3: need to try to point out to people. And yet
- 51:50Speaker 3: I feel like we do need to try to point
- 51:51Speaker 3: this out more often because the only reason it happens
- 51:55Speaker 3: is the politicians think they're completely safe in their jobs,
- 51:59Speaker 3: that they can do whatever they want and they can't
- 52:02Speaker 3: possibly be kicked out of office. And we have to
- 52:05Speaker 3: show them it's wrong. You know what it's like to me?
- 52:08Speaker 3: This is a rant, and we'll move on to national
- 52:11Speaker 3: or other.
- 52:12Speaker 2: Topics after the hour.
- 52:14Speaker 3: It's sort of like if you had a boss that
- 52:16Speaker 3: didn't give a crap about your company, like just didn't
- 52:18Speaker 3: care at all, like a boss who barely ever shows up,
- 52:21Speaker 3: who doesn't really yell at anybody or act like anything
- 52:24Speaker 3: about the company matters.
- 52:26Speaker 2: How would the employees inevitably behave?
- 52:28Speaker 3: At a company where the guy at the top or
- 52:30Speaker 3: the woman at the whoever's at the top doesn't give
- 52:33Speaker 3: a crap about anything, they would also stop giving a
- 52:36Speaker 3: crap about anything.
- 52:37Speaker 2: It would be the type of.
- 52:39Speaker 3: You know, just infectious sort of idea that would cause
- 52:44Speaker 3: everyone to do something terrible. Like businesses would easily fail
- 52:48Speaker 3: if the person at the top just assumed no matter
- 52:51Speaker 3: what we do as a business, I stay in power,
- 52:53Speaker 3: we stay in power.
- 52:55Speaker 2: Everything keeps working out for all of us.
- 52:57Speaker 3: That is a death sentence to so many companies throughout
- 53:01Speaker 3: our country and our society. Politicians every day play by
- 53:06Speaker 3: different rules. They play by the rules of I can
- 53:08Speaker 3: do whatever the hell I want. The people that I
- 53:10Speaker 3: work for, I can ignore. I can pretend as though
- 53:13Speaker 3: their voices and their opinions completely don't matter. And I'll
- 53:17Speaker 3: stay in power. I'll stay in charge. And I'll keep
- 53:19Speaker 3: doing whatever I want to do.
- 53:22Speaker 2: We need to show them that's not true.
- 53:25Speaker 3: And the founding fathers built our system accurately and effectively
- 53:31Speaker 3: in order for us to be able to do that.
- 53:33Speaker 2: And yet the biggest takeaway I.
- 53:35Speaker 3: Think I had from the conversation with Orlando Sanchez that
- 53:38Speaker 3: happened a little bit ago, and we'll put up some
- 53:40Speaker 3: of it on social media, but the biggest one is
- 53:42Speaker 3: how few people will vote. Five million people live in
- 53:46Speaker 3: Harris County, and not even a fifth of them are
- 53:49Speaker 3: expected to vote in an election for the person who's
- 53:52Speaker 3: in charge of the budget, of the financial spending decisions
- 53:56Speaker 3: here in this community.
- 53:58Speaker 2: That is recklessly stupid.
