Shout them out. When we get montage, y'all, we gotta ask him about that too. When we get him on there, we gotta ask him, where's your cat? I'ma text that fool too. I'm gonna text that fool right now. Caddey B: Uuuhhhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehheh DJ Rubbaban: I'ma I'm gonna tell I'm gonna use his real name. Now I ain't gonna use because he's gonna remind me. He's gonna be like, why you use my real name? Why you use my real name? Yeah. So what else you been doing? What kind Caddey B: huh, yeah, yeah, so, but you know, that and just... DJ Rubbaban: of music you listening to right now? Caddey B: just been running through a little bit of everything. I was really impressed though. I didn't think I was gonna like it. I didn't think I was gonna like it at all. Like I thought it was gonna be DJ Rubbaban: Who? Caddey B: just kinda, but Rick Ross, he kinda dug in his bag on that one. DJ Rubbaban: Man, let me get my paper on Rick Ross. Man, let me get my paper on Rick Ross. Let me get my paper on Rick Ross. Rick Ross. Caddey B: I just I didn't I didn't expect it but it was it was more of a Like an older Rick Ross, you know And he did his thing on there, you know, I did that and it was what else I've been feeling that that DJ Paul and and Pat that's DJ Rubbaban: You like Project Pat? You like that new Project Pat? Caddey B: Yeah, that yeah, yeah them boys so it is DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You broaden your horizons. You brought in your horizons with that. Caddey B: The them goats that juicy J a project, but no, that's just old. mean. DJ Rubbaban: yeah, yo yeah. I mean, dude, cause Caddey B: Eww. DJ Rubbaban: he sound the same. Remember when we had remember when Caddey B: yeah, yeah, no. DJ Rubbaban: we was listening to Lil Kiki? And I was like, damn, that sounded like, damn, that sounded like Lil Kiki would a better beat. You know what I'm saying? Remember? Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. It you know, this la Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: this last year has been a lot of good music from legacy artists. You know what I mean? It's been a lot of good music from and and that's the new word they use in legacy artists, but Really, it's just artists. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. And I think it's been like that. I think it's been like that for the past few years, though. I think since since that Rock Cam album came out, I think everybody, know, LL, everybody kind of did their albums over the past DJ Rubbaban: Mm-hmm. Caddey B: few years. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. And then you listen into the back and forth with 50 and Rick Ross and him making statements about you know about you know 50 Cent. Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: But when it really comes down to it, it's the album and the quality of the album. And is it worth listening to just in your car? And Rick Ross on this new album, on his new album starts off strong. and then the second song. Caddey B: And I liked it after like the first four to five. After that, that's when I got DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, yeah. Caddey B: into it. DJ Rubbaban: No, see the first one I was feeling that that that first one. And then the next one is the one with T.I. where they kind of going back to back, classic hip hop, you know, mahogany casket. Caddey B: That was good, you know. DJ Rubbaban: And then Minx in Miami was okay. Face Down with Rich the Kid, I was feeling that one. I felt that one a little bit. And then as he went down, when he did Maybach music. You know how he does a version of that on every album with Jeezy? He started to come back up. Caddey B: Yeah, that one went hard. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, he started to come back up. And then like songs like Purple Fentanyl. Caddey B: But I like to live in large too. And he did the Mr. Big sample from 8-Ball. That's homage. DJ Rubbaban: That's b but you know but you know what I I saw that as what he was doing was from Heavy D. Cause Heavy D's first album was called Living Large or first or second one. And Mr. Big Stuff, Caddey B: Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Mr. Big Stuff was also Heavy D, Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Livin' Large. So that so you know the old school in me, that's what I I ran to. But and then he's a big dude and he always pays homage to like Biggie, you know, you know, nigga, I'm bigger than you. Yeah. Caddey B: Yeah, and had Big X to plug on there and whatnot, so... DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, you ain't biggie, I'm biggie than you. but shout Caddey B: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: out Rick Ross. That was a that was a good one. Now, how do you feel about Caddey B: Yeah! DJ Rubbaban: how do you feel about in talking about new music right now? and we kind of briefly talked about this. Country's a big genre right now. Country and and and African Americans have always been part of country. You know what I mean? Have always been a we've had the Charlie Prize and the So-ons, and some will say that blues and other genres made country, right? And so country is the biggest selling art right now in terms of music. And so you see a few people, Beyonce got in there, a l a couple people got in there. Kate Michelle got in there, Nelly got in there, our boy Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Marty, our boy Marty from Northern California has had a lot of country Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: artists. so now we get Neo, and Neo, yes, RB Neo has a new album out. And it's called Highway Seventy Nine. And it's pretty much country, y'all. It's country, but with the same feel of traditional Neo. And you know what? I'ma give it. I'm gonna give it it's like about four songs I can, you know. He had a song called Miss Miss Tundra. Like the Tundra truck and about a big girl. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Might Caddey B: The Tundra. Yeah, I couldn't get behind it. had to I kind of had to walk away from that one. DJ Rubbaban: It's one of those ones you gotta absorb in layers. You gotta absorb that in layers. Cause remember when Nelly came out and Nelly did that one song? Dun dun dun dun. Remember when he did that country song and it blew up? He it blew up. Caddey B: Yeah, I'm just not I'm not I can't get behind country I DJ Rubbaban: You ain't feelin' no country? Caddey B: I'd rather listen to Drake. DJ Rubbaban: There you go, there you go. You rather listen to Drake than country music? Caddey B: I just can't do it. It's it's it's. DJ Rubbaban: So you need to listen to TikTok and listen to some of those white boys redo classic rap songs, country, and they tight. Caddey B: I've seen it, I'm just like, what? Maybe maybe it's the the cadence of it to where it's just and where where I live at here. It just doesn't work for me. DJ Rubbaban: It's country in Northern California. Caddey B: I know that's the problem. DJ Rubbaban: it's just your interpretation of it. Caddey B: Yeah, you know, I mean, you can only be you can you can only be. You know, when I was younger, when I was a kid, when I was a teen, you can only be followed by the rednecks and trucks blaring country saying, I'm gonna get you nigger. And, you know, not just hold on to that country music in your head or just don't. DJ Rubbaban: Yes and no. All music Caddey B: Ahem. DJ Rubbaban: is objective, right? And so I Caddey B: 100%. DJ Rubbaban: get it, you know, sometimes music is is formed kinda by our childhood, the music we listened to, middle school, elementary, and yeah, Caddey B: Yeah, because it's a feeling, you know, but... DJ Rubbaban: yeah. And so and then country's kinda always been kinda remember when country got mad when what was the little brother the little the little brother when he did that song, when he remade that one song? They was mad. Caddey B: Lil Nas X DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, they was mad. They was mad. But we didn't even really Caddey B: But he got he got he got a country cosigner with it. I mean, you know. Billy Ray Cyrus, it was right there, would have been cosigned on it. DJ Rubbaban: But even when Beyonce won that country award, they wanted to turn it over. And they had and if you went Caddey B: yeah! DJ Rubbaban: and remember on the internet, big girls went crazy Caddey B: yeah, they was mad. DJ Rubbaban: dressing like cowgirls for her for her show. Yeah. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. Caddey B: I just can't, I just can't feel it. DJ Rubbaban: Aye B aye. So no no no new Neo for you. Caddey B: Nah, but I think that the Dreams album was better. DJ Rubbaban: The Dreams album was more traditional R and B. Dream has been quietly Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: producing so much Rick Ross. He produced a lot on Pusha T. he always got his hands in a lot of people's stuff. The Dream as Mad producer. Matt pretty diverse too. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And then. Yeah, yeah, that album was good. His new one was good. And then, know, your boy, Jack Weiss, he pulled one out. DJ Rubbaban: Wait, hold up, hold up. So before we go to Jacque's, that's my yeah, my my nigga Jacqueese. So before we go to Jacqueese, you telling the people to go out and listen to the dream. Caddey B: I would listen to the Dream for sure. DJ Rubbaban: So you guys in the in the subscription, subscribe, all that, listen let us know how you felt about that new dream out. Caddey B: I mean, listen to the NEO album as well. you know, I ain't got no DJ Rubbaban: Okay, okay. Caddey B: hate. I ain't got no hate. You know what mean? It just, I couldn't feel it, you know? And I'll go back and I'll listen to it again. Cause generally if I don't like, if I first put it in and I'm like, I'm not really feeling this and I'll go to something else, I'll come back to it and try it again. DJ Rubbaban: Right. But if you don't like that genre, music. I got one for you at the end I'm gonna talk about, you're gonna be like, What? What? No, no, no. I think I think music being on music platforms and radio not really being as dominant as it used to be, and we got all these accesses to music that overtakes us, because it's so much new music that we just go, whatever. When I just put my Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: head into music, I'm like Damn, it's too much. Think about it, it's too much. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah, yeah, because there's the you can anybody can put it out. DJ Rubbaban: Like Project Pat. Like, I probably had two Project Pat albums. Like, and I can't remember a song until you reminded me of the song, the older song, you know? But Lil' Kiki, Caddey B: Yeah, yeah, yeah, DJ Rubbaban: but Lil' Kiki was in rotation. You know what I'm saying? So when you turned me on the little Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Kiki, the new Lil' Kiki, I was like, Man, that fool is hitting still. You know? He ain't 18 no more. Caddey B: yeah. He got some smackers on there. No, no, no, no. But that, that, that new ju that DJ Rubbaban: So now go to my so now go to Jock Quiz. Caddey B: new juicy J and that new juicy J and project Pat, since you said project Pat, them goats that that's got some slaps on there. DJ Rubbaban: Right. That's got some slap and they always had that. They always had that with all their stuff. They got some slap. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, no, but you know. DJ Rubbaban: So what would you recommend that? Out of out of all those songs, how many would you recommend? Half the album? Caddey B: on them goats? DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. Caddey B: I'll give it. I'd give it half out of the 20, because there's 20 tracks on that album. I'd give it half. DJ Rubbaban: Okay. Yeah, it's a lot. It's a lot. I would give it half. Caddey B: You know, they got some decent features on there. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, yeah. Now tell me this before we move on. Would you say you listen to your music on your phone and in your car or in your room? What's the best place for your music to sound good to you? Cause I want our listeners I I want to ask that in the comments, put in there where do you feel like the best place to listen to your music at? Cause it's different for me everywhere. Caddey B: Yeah, so I mean, I only listen, I listen to my earbuds. I listen to music all day long. DJ Rubbaban: Mm-hmm. Caddey B: Like literally, like I listen to music all day long. So I got my ear buttons in when I'm at home and I'm cleaning stuff up, whatever, I'm getting ready for bed or I'm doing stuff around the house. And then my truck, I mean, my truck is smacks. So. DJ Rubbaban: Now why you can't play Caddey B: If I want. DJ Rubbaban: it no at your at your place of business, why you can't hit why you can't put that Neo album on and just let it run? Caddey B: Now at my shop, we have everything playing. So we have Pandora on shuffle between all of my rap and hip hop. And then my boss, he likes eighties and nineties country and other country. And then we got hair, hair band metal playing. We got everything playing. You, you don't know what you're going DJ Rubbaban: So your boss is gonna Caddey B: to hear. DJ Rubbaban: your boss is gonna feel me on somebody that I'm gonna talk about that's coming up, that's country, that I've been feeling. Caddey B: yeah, when you texted me earlier, I asked him he was like what he got a new album. He's like, I'm have to look that up. DJ Rubbaban: yeah, yeah, yeah. Caddey B: You know, but. DJ Rubbaban: And the thing about this artist that we that I'm gonna talk about later, he doesn't have real strong vocals. He's a good artist. I probably like a handful of his songs. He's a country artist. But he but he he did it he did his thing. He did his thing on this one. And like I said, I'm not a big country person. I grew up, just like I grew up on Maze and Frankie Breverly, I listened to James Taylor. I listened to Eddie Rabbit because I was around. I listened to The Temptation. I listened to Blowfly. I listen to you know everybody and so Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: sometimes you get sprinkled with something and you go, Damn. Damn. So tell me about my boy Jack Quez. I'm gonna shut up. Shout out Jack Queese. Shout out Jackis and and Juvenile. They got a single on this album that I'm feeling. Caddey B: mood. DJ Rubbaban: Mood two. Is it mood two? Caddey B: Nah, it just says mood. DJ Rubbaban: I think it's moved too, but it don't matter. Jackquez. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: All I think all the singles aren't out yet for his full album, but it's songs on there that's gonna be on the album when you look at the platforms. It's a couple songs. Not all of them. It says the words, but they're not, they're not highlighted all of them. And so Caddey B: Yeah, and there is features on here that aren't listed because like you said, there is DJ Rubbaban: Right. Caddey B: a track with Juve on there, but it's not on here. He got Birdman credit and Dej Loaf, but not and Kirkel Bangs. But looking at it. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But he got a song called Lay Back. I'm feeling that. He got a song called Let You Go. he got a few songs that I know just from listening to that he's doing good. My next artist, this is one of your guys, is Bubba Sparks. Bubba Sparks had a big song back in the day called Booty Booty Booty Booty Booty Booty Booty, Booty Booty Booty. But he was a much deeper Better artist than that particular single, which was really his second win. His first win, he Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: was with Timbalyn. And he had a song called Was It Crazy? What was it called? Ugly. Caddey B: Ugly. Ugly. DJ Rubbaban: Ug Ugly was dope. Ugly. Look up Bubba Sparks and Ugly. They'll still go. And Booty, I Caddey B: That still goes hard. yeah. DJ Rubbaban: think Booty was independent. I don't know. I don't know if he didn't do that. He wasn't with Timbaland no more when he did Booty. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. and so go back to Jacques, there is there's mood to. DJ Rubbaban: Shot cleaf. Caddey B: But that that hasn't even fully dropped yet, there's only like four singles on it. Go back. Mood one is when he just dropped. DJ Rubbaban: okay, okay, okay, okay. Clear that up. It should it is it is a move two coming, but it's already Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: a move. Caddey B: Yeah. So 2026, he's right. He's dropping technically three because he did another one, but mood one as Birdman and other ones on there and then moved to this upcoming as Juvion and it's got a couple of singles off. DJ Rubbaban: And one of the things I want to say about Jacquis is he's a hard working RB artist. Jacquis will drop us if you put out a hit record, Jacqueese will do it over. And sometimes it's better than your version. Jacqueese will put out mixed tapes, he'll put out mixed twaves. Jacqueese is hungry. He does his thing. He presents as really nice, open. You see him a lot in the media. you know, I seen him he of short, too. You know, but shout out Jock Weeze, Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: you know what I'm saying? Shout out his new project. But go back and listen to some of his mixtapes. Like, he's crazy. He's cra he's singing hard too. Caddey B: Yeah, was digging in a lot of his older stuff. I like his older stuff better, for sure. DJ Rubbaban: Ri see, see, yeah. Jackquis. Caddey B: But I'm like that though. I like to go dig into somebody's discography. But yeah, that Bubba Sparks was good. DJ Rubbaban: 'Cause it kinda Caddey B: And then a bunch of people have been talking about that Rome Streets. Did you check that out? DJ Rubbaban: I didn't check that out, but I heard it at what did you listen to it? Caddey B: Yeah, he like, mean, the first probably eight tracks. 10 tracks, he coming out spitting hard. And I mean, he got Lloyd Banks on there. He got Westside Gun. It's a pretty decent body of work for lyricists. Lyricists rap. DJ Rubbaban: Right, right. So would you would you recommend that one? Or you would you recommend that one? Caddey B: yeah, definitely. DJ Rubbaban: So Caddey B: Definitely. And also another one for you that is out of what I would normally recommend would be the Eric Gales. DJ Rubbaban: What Caddey B: attribute to attribute to LJK. See, I get in my blues bag. I listen to a lot of blues too. DJ Rubbaban: Okay, okay, okay, you showing your emotional side, Caddy. Caddy, okay. Caddey B: See, don't do country, but I do blues, because, you know. DJ Rubbaban: They cousins. They cousin I mean one gave birth to the other one. Put in the comments Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: which one gave birth to the other one. I want you to be honest. Who did blues give birth or did country give birth? Or they or they I don't know, kissing cousins. I don't know. Caddey B: It's blues. It's blues. Blues, we gave it first. DJ Rubbaban: You let us know in the comments. Like, subscribe. Holla at your folks. So for me too, since we've been talking about that, I really kind of got into my RB bag and I started listening to people because we live in a singles world. Like, like we don't listen to albums as much. We listen to a single. yeah, I like so-and-so as a single. yeah, I like so-and-so as a single. And then we don't always listen to the album. Caddey B: I still like to listen to the whole album. I'm an album. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because we had to buy DJ Rubbaban: Cause you come from that generation. You come from that generation. Caddey B: them. DJ Rubbaban: We had to buy him. We had to buy him. Or we just listened to him. Caddey B: And a lot of artists, a lot of artists are changing. They're getting away from that streaming. Everybody wants to get away from it. DJ Rubbaban: Remember we were talking about that. CD sales are up. CD sales are up. Caddey B: Yeah. Yeah. CD sales, record sales. Artists are putting out full bodies of work and they're not having them for streaming at all. Hieroglyphics DJ Rubbaban: Even Caddey B: got an album coming. I see got an album coming. Cocaine been putting all his albums out only on his his website. DJ Rubbaban: And you know what too? I'm gonna hit you with this gym too. So my boy Madman X, my boy Steve, when I told him I was gonna give my daddy's real to real, he was like, Ben, Ben, I got something for you. I got something for you. So he sent me this website, and they selling new Reel to Reels. They high, is it? They high, they hella high. But there's new Real to Reels. He was like, Ben, Ben. You get you gotta get that black Moses. You gotta get that Black Moses. You gotta get that Parliament Funkadelic on real to real. It's a whole nother sound. Rubber. I was like, Caddey B: Mm-hmm. DJ Rubbaban: man, you get me hyper right now, but you're gonna me have me spending all my money on real to real tapes. But real to real's, I mean, that was that was big time classic back in the days, you know what I'm saying? So and then the sound Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: is on tape. It's like analog and digital. When when remember when DJ Quick was talking about producing, he put it on analog. And then when digital was more Caddey B: Mm-hmm. DJ Rubbaban: flat, but it was clearer, but it wasn't, you wanted that crackly, you wanted that, that, that sound. Caddey B: That warmth. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, that warmth. And then it's it it's subjective. Everything is subjective, depending on the music. Blues, like Caddey B: Yeah, of course. Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: remember when it was some of the stuff was mono, like in one speaker you heard two Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: and then even with James Browns and all that. If you listen to a lot of that Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: earlier James, that J B. Caddey B: Yeah, George Clinton, all that. DJ Rubbaban: it's crazy, crazy. Just look at the arrangements on Knee Deep and all that. Acid, P-Funk. Like, how Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: many takes did they do? How many artists? How'd they do that? It's just so much stuff going on. So much stuff going Caddey B: Yeah. Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: on. Now, who would you say is your favorite blues artist? I don't know if I have a Caddey B: buddy guy. DJ Rubbaban: What makes him your favorite though? Caddey B: For one, he's the last like old great. I DJ Rubbaban: Right, right. Caddey B: mean, you know, it's like my top three is probably Buddy Guy, BB King and Muddy Waters. DJ Rubbaban: Okay. Now can you listen to them when you're not depressed? Caddey B: And then, yeah, yeah, yeah. And then, I mean, there's new artists, too, that are coming out that are that aren't coming up, but have been around for a little while as well that are really good, like Joe Bonamassa, King Fish, Eric Gales, another old school one, Kev Moe. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Caddey B: You know, I get in my blues bag, DJ Rubbaban: Okay, I'm seeing it. I'm seeing it. I'm seeing it. So you like hardcore rap, certain regions, and blues? Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. Yeah. And then like another really dope album. I know if I sent it to you, but Slash from Guns N' Roses, he did a blues album and he paid homage to a bunch of people and he got everybody on there from Demi Lovato to Billy Gibbs from ZZ Top to, I mean, just a plethora of fucking people. And it's dope. DJ Rubbaban: Alright, since you hit me with that jewel, I'm gonna hit you with this one. Now, Keith Urban got a new album out. I know y'all gonna be like, what, Rama? Country? Keith Urban has a new album out. And what they call it is Yacht Rock. So Yacht Rock is a certain kind of rock, right? And so what he did on this new album is he did all remakes with one new song. And so he hit you with all of those songs from back in the days, like. remember the I don't know if you guys remember the group called Player. Baby Come Back. Any kind of fool. Caddey B: Mm-hmm. DJ Rubbaban: He he did all those. He did Michael McDonough. Yeah, Michael McDonnell. he Caddey B: I'm gonna have to add it for my boss at work, because we listen to lot of Yacht Rock. He loves some Yacht Rock. Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: did I think he did tattoo. I think he did Toto. He did remember the song? The first person to do it was the first person to do it was Seals and Croft, but but But then the Caddey B: Mm-hmm. DJ Rubbaban: IZ brothers redid Summer Breeze and made it real popular. Summer Breeze? Yeah, you know what I mean? Caddey B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: And so both of them really, really popular, but the original artists, you know. And so he redid that. And what I like about he did he did a song by Brad. He did a song by who else did he do a song by? It's really a good album and it's really, I wouldn't say it was country, even though he's a country artist. It's like 80s and 90s popular. Caddey B: That's that Yacht Rock, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And I don't know who came up with yacht rock, but I was like, I don't know. But it's a really if you like popular music from the eighties, a little bit of the seventies, you'll like this. It's even keel. Caddey B: I was going say a lot of that's mainly, a lot of those is mainly seventies, like, you know, the, the, the Christopher cross DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, yeah, it's it's even keel. It's not Caddey B: and all that. DJ Rubbaban: yeah, it's it's even keel. you know, he ain't giving you no major riffs. You know, it ain't it's just even keel. It's even keel. It's even keel. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: No, I played it, so I was listening to it, but then I played the whole album coming from Roseville last night. And when I parked, I went somewhere and I was bumping loud, I was like, Damn, I'm really got my grown man on. I'm bumping this. Yeah, I'm I'm Caddey B: Hehehehehe DJ Rubbaban: bumping this fool Keith. I'm bumping this fool Keith. But it was good though. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It was a shout out Keith Irvin. Caddey B: Yeah, that's what's up. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, yeah. Check out Keith Irvin's new album. It's cool. It's cool. Let me know. Let me know in the comments. Talk about your boy. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Talk about your boy. Talk about your boy. And I think it's called Flow State. It's called Flow State. The new album by him. It's called Flow State. But Caddey B: I'll even look it up and check it out myself. DJ Rubbaban: Tell your boss to listen to it. Tell me, tell me to tell me what your boss said. Like. Caddey B: yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: So it's not real twangy twangy. You know, some of the stereotypes about country music Caddey B: That's it. DJ Rubbaban: is it's not like that no more. White boys is basically, they they're trying to switch it up a little bit. Just a little bit. You know what I'm saying? You know? Caddey B: Yeah, yeah, like, like, I mean, you know, DJ Cass said, you know, hip hop didn't invent anything. It reinvented everything. DJ Rubbaban: yeah. yeah. yeah. So I got some other new R and B people that I'm really feeling right now. Alex Isley got a new album out. Max Keane. Keelani, even though she's popular, I think she won a Grammy. Keelani is just dope. She's just dope. Caddey B: I expected more from that last album. I wasn't really feeling it. Like I tried to get into it. It just wasn't. DJ Rubbaban: But I mean, I think she's just grown in her progression and then sometimes understanding the music business, certain singles, certain songs, they'll be like, no, I want this. No, put this out. It's only so Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: much real estate on the album. Put this out, put this out. Cause you want the the artist that you really like to just do the same thing. And being an artist is Caddey B: yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: very, you know, you're all over the place with what you want to put out. Caddey B: Yeah, because you growin' and stuff, you know, as a person, because that's how people work, but... DJ Rubbaban: Right, right. And then a artist by the name of San. Did I pronounce it right? San. Is that is that the right way to pronounce it? So San is a is Caddey B: Yeah. Yeah, yeah, it's like. DJ Rubbaban: an artist. She's had two albums out. Two albums out. This is her second album and it just came out. very soulful. R and B. I want you to look it up. This is how you spell her name. S-A-H A-N. Is it did I spell it right? Let me look on there. S-H-A. No, S-A-A- Caddey B: No, it's s-s-a-s-a-s-a-s-a-h-n and her new album is called The Guard And DJ Rubbaban: But yeah. Caddey B: the single is locked in from what it shows on iTunes. DJ Rubbaban: Now she now the new single has a video to it and it's cool, but the new album is nice. And you guys, I want you to listen to this album and I want you to look up on YouTube. she has this a cappella on there. I'm gonna try to I'm gonna try to get B to put it on the underneath on the thing where she's giving it up. Real sweet, soulful voice. I don't want to compare her to nobody because I don't want you to put in the comments she don't sound like her, she don't sound like her. But just like we need music that's just not cussing and and F you F you. You know, we got Jacquis for that. We love Jaquis for that. You know what I'm saying? But check her out. Check her out. And she's dope. She's dope. She's dope. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: I got one more. I got one more R and B one. I got one more new R and B one that I'm brilliant. It's it's called What is it called? What is it called? I can't think of it. I can't think of it. I did see a new song by Tory Lane's, but then when I did my research on it, it wasn't a new song. But a lot of the algorithms have been talking about new Tory Lane music. And even though he's still in jail. Caddey B: Yeah, cause he got an album out. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, even though, see, so okay, so it's true. So even though I like Tory Lane's music. I like his version of Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: auto-tune. I like his don't you like. Like nothing's wrong with autotune if it sounds good. Caddey B: Yeah, it's called, it's called Made You Think I Was Gone. But it's a double shows DJ Rubbaban: See, and he's in jail. Caddey B: it's showing us a double disc too. DJ Rubbaban: I'm gonna leave that one out. Yeah, yeah. And he in jail. He's still in jail. So, you know what I mean? Caddey B: Yeah. Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Isn't that something that you could put your album out still independent? You in jail. He had that much music. Caddey B: Amen. DJ Rubbaban: And Meghan Stallion was at the BET Awards giving it up. She was giving it up. They still got Caddey B: Mm-hmm. DJ Rubbaban: beef. They still got beef. Now let me ask you this. Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Let me ask you this, Caddy. How do you feel about RB? Not RB. How do you feel about hip hop? Rappers who only talk in terms of sexual. Like they major hit. Like every time you hear, even though it's banging, they got their tongue out, they got on shorts, and they talking about does the old man come out in you or you like it? Like, be objective with me. Cause you done told me about some ratchet dudes, you know what I mean? Caddey B: And you want to know what I'm all for the ladies having a turn to talk that. because men have been doing it forever. DJ Rubbaban: But do you wanna listen to a whole album of Megan Stallion? Okay. Caddey B: Let them talk, let them talk, talk. Let them talk, they talk. You know what mean? We had automobile, we had blow job Eddie, we had, you know what mean? The list goes on and on and on. Let them do their thing. DJ Rubbaban: I mean, we want to hear too short do what he do, right? We want to hear Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: too short. Even when we talk about when we transition into this new versus is coming out, a lot of people will say that the game who's gonna be in the new verses coming out, all he talk about is Compton. Caddey B: Him and him and YG DJ Rubbaban: All he talks about is Compton. All he talks about is bloods, all he talk is bloods and how hard he is. But when you listen deeper. Caddey B: But you wonder what, I was listening to the Versus Cheat Sheet that they got on iTunes, right? DJ Rubbaban: Mm-hmm. Right. Caddey B: And I'm for Game, because I think Game is a dope lyricist and he's got what, like 30 albums out. DJ Rubbaban: Right. Caddey B: And I think he has more hits than YG. But YG, he gangbangs more on his albums than Game do. DJ Rubbaban: You think it's all perception. It's all perception. You know what I'm saying? Caddey B: When I when I when I saw what I was listening to these I was listening to like the past two days or whatever since the versus thing came out. DJ Rubbaban: Mm-hmm. Caddey B: I started on Monday. I was like, right, cool. After today, I'm like, I'm starting to skip some of the YG shit just because I mean, he giving you all too much. I got got thrown some east side is some dub C for a minute. I'm like. DJ Rubbaban: You stole, you stole it. What you what you what you think about hip hop when it came at when s when hip hop came to Southern California and we and we took it over from the East, all it was Caddey B: no! DJ Rubbaban: was all it was was C you know CBs. That's all it was. Caddey B: Beer. DJ Rubbaban: King T, Easy E all of them. Caddey B: I kind of feel for y'all now for a minute. I was like, well, so that's how it felt, huh? DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, yeah, yeah. But see, again, when we go back to that DJ Quick interview, no matter how much growth you get, older you get, and Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: even though when you graduate from even that gang version of all of that, you still are who you are and see that how you see it. So when you see Snoop Dogg over the top with blue rag suits at the mega gala and all that. You say, damn, that's tight, but at the same time you go, Man. You know what I'm saying? Like, I don't know if it's a LA thing. I don't know if it's just a thing. You know. LA people, so a lot not all of us, but you we can be petty with that. You know what I'm saying? Caddey B: I think that's just Southern California in general, you know? DJ Rubbaban: Like blue laces, look, like blue laces by my boy Nipsey. Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: I done did two different versions of that off the instrumental and and and changed it up. You know what I'm saying? But I love that song. But like, damn, why this couldn't be another color laces? Damn. Caddey B: Cause y'all got game with one blood. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Caddey B: You know what I mean? So, you know, it all goes. I think I think it but but I think it's I think it's evened out now. You know, yes, back in the day, you know what I mean? We was giving it up like all you all you got was blue. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, listen look at Bluzzin'. Caddey B: except for quick. DJ Rubbaban: Look at Blu look look at look at Bangin' on Wax. Shout out my boy Rum who's on on Bangin' on Wax. Shout out Red Rum, my folks. Like, overall, that album, it was red. Red tore it up. Y'all had steady dipping. Y'all had steady dipping. But overall, Caddey B: We're here. DJ Rubbaban: you play man. Man, you play Power of Love, you play all the other ones. You was like, yeah. And secretly, you had Domino, who was from Long Beach, was on it. You had a lot of different Caddey B: Mm-hmm. DJ Rubbaban: hoods. It was a lot of it's a lot of blood hoods on there. It was some crit ones too. And most of the people on those albums didn't really live a long, long time. You know what I mean? D you know, DJ Caddey B: No, no, no. DJ Rubbaban: Battlecat produced a lot on that, but a lot of the folks Caddey B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: on there didn't, you know, shout out too. Caddey B: Y'all, y'all, y'all forgot about nationwide rip ride. DJ Rubbaban: look at you, look at you. Look at you. Look at we tryna stay country and R and B. Look, we tryna show the people that we diverse. Caddey B: I mean you get you had power love. I mean we got it. We got even it out with some days why we're right DJ Rubbaban: yeah, yeah, yeah. And you know what was crazy that Caddey B: You know. DJ Rubbaban: you realize back then, even when you go to San Diego, right? Even when you go to San Diego, it seems like it's a lot more B Dogs now in San Diego, but back then when Bullet Loco and all them other ones was coming out, man, Caddey B: yeah. DJ Rubbaban: the boss is on his own. All those. Who's really Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: cracking in Dago right now? Youngsters are or Caddey B: OG about OG about a low he out there. DJ Rubbaban: Okay, okay. Caddey B: He's still coming up. He's going to drop another one, I think, pretty soon. Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: And they pretty connected to Southern California. Like Dago and San Diego is pretty yeah, it's pretty, Caddey B: Yeah. yeah. DJ Rubbaban: you know, pretty Caddey B: Yeah, yeah, so... But now this is... DJ Rubbaban: You know. And then let's be objective too with with part of our culture from that time. Sometimes you don't want to hear that. And when you go to these neighborhoods, you know, maybe this is a therapist part of me. When I go back to those neighborhoods, those neighborhoods aren't, you don't see our faces in them neighborhoods no more. They taken over by somebody else, or they gentrified it. Or the ones that you Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: do see. You know what I mean? It's changed. Like drugs changed it. Caddey B: Mm-hmm. DJ Rubbaban: economics changed it. You know, you just can't blame it all on Reagan. Like they've changed so many neighborhoods. Like a friend of mine was just telling me I'm getting ready to rent a house on in in and towards the South Bay. And it's like $6,900 a month. I'm like, damn, you renting it? Who couldn't pay $6,900 a month and they just regular working? You know what I'm saying? And so you just Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: living in these communities, and these communities still have gang injunctions and all that. Because it looks nice. That's the thing about Southern California. It looks nice, and in the daytime, it Caddey B: yeah. DJ Rubbaban: looks nice, but it's off the hook. Caddey B: Don't walk that beach at night. DJ Rubbaban: It it's off the hook. It's off the hook. Dude, look, I ain't even I ain't gonna tell all the story. Caddey B: Yeah, there's still, you know, there's still stop signs you don't stop at in the hood. DJ Rubbaban: Dude, we caught the bus to go to Venice Beach, right? We this was this was in the 80s, right? We caught the bus to go to Venice Beach. So it was like four of us. So one of my my homeboy, I ain't gonna say his name because he's gonna call me if I say his name. So my homeboy, let's just call him crazy. That ain't his name, but let's call him crazy. We all had a little money, but not that much money, right? So we all go, we all go, you know, and so we get off the bus. We get off the bus, right? And he goes, I got some weed. Let's sell some weed on we in Venice Beach. Like, let's sell some I'm gonna sell some now. I don't smoke weed and whatever. And I didn't even know he had weed, but he said he wanna sell some weed. I was like, Who you gonna sell it to? You don't sell weed? So We walking down the beach and you basically walk down the beach, you see the you see the muscle people, you see the different people, and then you walk Caddey B: Mm-hmm. DJ Rubbaban: back the other way, right? So he seen some people and he asked them did they want to buy weed. He sells them the weed, but it was bunk weed. It wasn't real weed. So we keep walking, right? He sells them the weed. We keep walking. Weed la la la. I didn't sell the weed, he sold the weed, but he w he with us. So we get halfway down there, they must have smoked the weed. We in there getting some pizza or something. The dude comes in there, hits him. Now we all fighting. Turns out it was whatever, you know, the gang that's in that neighborhood, Caddey B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: right? Right. So remind you, we catch the bus. So we gotta go all the way back, walk across the street to get on the bus, and we don't know when the bus. So we we running through things, we go going through things. So we finally get back over there, and me and him get into a fight. I'm like, man, why you And he laughing, cause Caddey B: I'm DJ Rubbaban: he's crazy. He laughing. We finally get on the bus. He goes, Now tell me you didn't have a good time. Tell me, we still got some pizza. I still got $10. And those little stories like that, and I cleaned it up a lot, but that's how it was. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: You know what I'm saying? Like, stupid. So that's Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: how when I look at, Gang culture when we joke about it and laugh about it, it's so many nuances to the game. You know, both sides of it. It's so many nuances. So one of the things Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: about about when you grow up in neighborhoods with a lot of with not a lot of resources, what happens when people are depressed? They don't have any money. they're limited on resources. Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: kids need shoes, clothes, girls have questions, yeah, Caddey B: Books, bags, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: everything. And It's just all over the place. You know what I'm saying? When you're not that intelligent and you don't have that resource for to just say this or that. And so you make do, you know, and so the hood has changed. You know, tell us in the comments in your city how has the hood changed? Is the hood the same? I mean, I know in Southern California and in Texas, the hood is different. The hood is yeah, they move hoods. They move Caddey B: yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: so my grandmother lived In the CUNY homes in Houston, Texas. And the people that lived in the CUNY homes went to Jack Yates. And what other school did they go to? But Jack Yates was a big school. A lot of popular people went to Jack. It's right across the street from the project. So my grandmother lived there. Every summer we went to the projects. We went, I went and stayed with my grandmother, right? They closing them down and they relocating all those people. So think the CUNY home's been open since like the 40s. And it's right across the street from Texas Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Southern University. it's a lot of big col there's some black ones, but it's some big white ones too. So interesting as this communities change and evolve. Okay, one. Caddey B: And they to that whole community to another spot. The same politics from from that projects is going to go, it's going to move more. The gang DJ Rubbaban: They're gonna move somewhere else. Now Caddey B: moves, everything moves. DJ Rubbaban: Exactly. So one hood story about the projects, right? So this is back in the days, right? So we would get to the s like school would get out Friday. My mama had us on the plane to Houston Saturday morning, right? And we in the we there the whole summer, right? We there the whole summer. So me and my cousin, so me and my cousin used to go to the store to get candy or whatever. Back then you can go to little Jew joints, get candy, get the chips. You know, they had cigarettes in the little in the little machines at all the little spots. So you we go Caddey B: Mm-hmm. DJ Rubbaban: in there and get cigarettes, all that, right? So it was these drunk dudes. They used they was in the projects, you know, they got their own little and dude was drunk, and dude ran out of ho ran out the house with an ice pick at me and my cousin. So we ran back home. Never, never. This old fool at that house, that second house right by the so-and-so. Only this is can only happen in the projects, dude, in the 80s. Was that yeah the 80s? My grandmother said, What? What? Man, y'all acting like some pussies. Here, come on. She went and got a pistol. Me and my cousin walked down there. She had a pistol hanging out. Where they where they at? Where they at? And she know all the people. Everybody in the projects know anybody. And she, da da da da, Miss Grant, da-da-da-da-da-da. Dude came out. He said, Man, I was just playing with your with your With your people, man. I know there's when she cussed them out real good. And we walked back home. She gave us some money and we just walked to the store. Now n in no world today can anybody walk down the street with a big old pistol. And my grandmother was the sweetest woman, nicest woman, but she didn't play with her grandkids and her kids. And you know, them times is Caddey B: You can in Texas though, they got open carry still. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, see, see? Look at you. Yeah, yeah. Caddey B: different States, you know what mean? So, you know, but I DJ Rubbaban: And she Caddey B: mean, back in the eighties, yeah, you would see that in L.A. and San Diego as well, you know, but. DJ Rubbaban: I want somebody to make a movie about the projects, but fun. Like it's a lot like I didn't I didn't live in a lot of different projects, but it's fun stuff that's not killing and crazy. Like I'm gonna hit you with another another project story. So this is the same projects in Houston, Texas, in the CUNY home. So I had a cousin, a big cousin, right? He was like the oldest cousin. He was a little he's a little different, right? He was the one that always would get the girls that was kinda had little deformities, you know, one leg, maybe a eye was missing. she had that Katherine Jackson kinda limp. She always had something. He was scooping all of them up. He was scooping Caddey B: You DJ Rubbaban: all of them up. Now, mind you, when you young, when you in elementary school, you like, Ugh, you want the prettiest. You know, you you know, you ain't selling, you want Mary Lou or Laquita, you want somebody, you want the prettiest. So Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: we learn in the game, right? So one day we and my grandmother's her little kitchen area, so as soon as you and and in her project, as soon as you walk open the door, to the right it's a table and then a deep freezer. In the south they love a deep freezer. And then on the left, as soon as you walk in it's some stairs and go up the stairs, but then to the left it's the living room. So we all sitting at the table. So my cousin come in And this big old woman, she had to be threesome, threesome. Big old woman, come in. And she looked over at us and was like, How y'all doing? We was like, hi, hi. And so he looked over at us like, stay out my goddamn business. So she goes to the living room, right? And so she sit down in the living room and they're in there talking. So we laughing and joking, we talking mess. So my cousin, when I say he was a little off, I love him to death, rest in peace. He goes, Y'all badass kids, take y'all s ass outside. Take y'all ass outside. So we wind up going outside, you know what I'm saying? Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: My cousin took her upstairs. It took a minute to get her upstairs. Cause it's all cement. It's all rock and projects. Ain't no wood. It's all cement. Man, my cousin got upstairs in the room. They had my grandmother had hella like clothes and junk on the door, so the door wouldn't slap clothes all the way. And she had like a chest with with sheets, like a chest, like soon as you walk to the top. So we all sat on the chest and just stood at the door. And man, it looked like two big old bears wrestling, wrestling and screeching noises. And we all sitting there, dude, we all in elementary school. We all in elementary school. It was like, and you know my mom, man, man, dirty mic, man, damn. And she's scratching them the whole thing. So so we go back downstairs, we laugh, we go back downstairs, we doing what my grandmother gets home. Yeah, my grandmother ain't no Caddey B: Goony goo goo. DJ Rubbaban: joke, right? So my grandmother come home. And probably about two hours later, my grandmother come home and she go Who shit it in my house? Who shit in my house? And I said Mike was upstairs wrestling with a bear. I don't know. I don't know he was wrestling with a bear earlier. So he told me, shut your mouth. You don't know nothing. Shut your be in a child's place. So my grandmother went up there. She wound up cussing him out or whatever, whatever, whatever. So he kind of took care of us during the day, right? Because he'd a grown up, right? But he's crazy. Later on that day. The next day, he had that one that was blind. Because in the projects, you know, a lot of them disabilities and You know, there ain't nothing against nobody with no thing that's going on, but they need love too. Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: You know what I'm saying? My boy used to take them down in the projects. He world famous in the CUNY homes. If you had a limp, shit. Shit. I ain't gonna say his name, because if Caddey B: Yeah DJ Rubbaban: I say his name, you know, one of them ill-legitimate kids he might have produced might show up in our comments, but yeah. I got stories with, and these is all PG stories, but boy, he would just we would be getting on the bus, he'd be like, Is that Marlene? Is that I'm like, nigga, the lady that's living with them two bags and six kids. He was like, Man, better stay out of my business, man. Marlene knows what she's doing. I'm like, all right. So shout out to the women Caddey B: Mm-hmm. DJ Rubbaban: in the Q homes, all of them not like that. It's beautiful women making moves, moved on. I had a lot of family that still live in the CUNY homes. I got a cousin that's still living the CUNY homes right now. But man, they used to go down in the CUNY homes. Man, it should go down, B. B. I could have brought you to the CUNY homes, man. Would have treated you like a king, B. You would have came on home, B. You'd have been like, fuck it, I'm moving to Texas. I ain't going back. I ain't going back to Dago. But shout out to Kenny. Shout out even the Caddey B: on a bottle of that. DJ Rubbaban: ones, even the California ones. Shout them out. Shout them out. It was a different kind of Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: dangerous in California. It was a different kind of dangerous. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It was a different. All of them you had to fight. Caddey B: Yeah, Yeah, today, this was definitely different. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. The 90s too. Yeah, the 90s too. Yeah. The 90s was Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: really because they knew what they was doing by then. The 90s. I remember, I Caddey B: Yeah, yeah true that. DJ Rubbaban: remember, look, I remember Imperial Courts, one of my cousins. Lived in Imperial Courts. I remember my auntie told him when we would go over there, right? They wouldn't let us they we had to stay in the house, right? So he'd be like, no, I mean you can come outside, you can come outside. So he had to go to the store to get something. He didn't come back. She said, Y'all go around there and I was like, man. Man. And everybody knows everybody over Caddey B: You DJ Rubbaban: there. So he came running back and came in the house. And it was a girl that got it. It was a girl. She beat him up. So my uncle went back around there. So man somebody gotta do a really good movie on the projects, man. Make it a little funny, you know, not a lot of crime, you know. Caddey B: I think that I think that should be ice cubes next one after the Friday. He needs to do something like that. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, yeah. Maybe I need to do an AI one because I'm doing all this research on AI. I'm trying to step my game up in these little short films and whatnot. Cause there's so much stuff that goes on that's good. And there's so many people that want to get out of the projects and get out of those situations. And Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: yeah, you know. The phone and and and media has changed everything. You know what I'm saying? Caddey B: yeah, yeah, the internet, the internet's done that, you know, changed everything. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Look at us talking about blues, Caddey B: in social media and all that. DJ Rubbaban: country. Now, what's the last RB Caddey B: That's that's DJ Rubbaban: chick that you listen to? Not RB, but the last hip hop, female hip hop you listen to. Megan, Lotto. we was listening to Lotto one day, huh? Was? In the studio. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah, we was listening to that lotto. What was I was listening? Yeah, yeah. In the studio, we was listening to that. DJ Rubbaban: We listen to a lot of Caddey B: Where what? There was actually one that I was listening to. DJ Rubbaban: I feel like it's hard to be objective. I I feel like for me, it's hard for me to be objective other than a single that's good. I feel like the body of work currently with the major female artists. It stays at a certain kind of I don't know, I don't wanna get beat up in the comments, but you know what I mean? Like I don't wanna hear how good Caddey B: Yeah, I know what you're DJ Rubbaban: I don't wanna hear how good you have sex on every song. Give me one or two. about your booty hole being brown, but I don't Caddey B: That, DJ Rubbaban: want the whole album about your booty hole being brown. Caddey B: Well, so you got you got female artists like Samara Sen. DJ Rubbaban: See? Caddey B: She got some bars and she ain't talking about just, you know, she ain't talking about no ass shaking. You got a Shay Nor. DJ Rubbaban: Now where's she from? Where's she from? Is do it say where she from? Caddey B: Don't even get me lying. DJ Rubbaban: Okay, give me somebody else. Give me somebody else. Caddey B: what else I got? What else I got? DJ Rubbaban: Cause Megan Megan is good, making the stallion is good. Caddey B: I got to look, cause I sent, like I send my daughter a lot of stuff. Cause she's always DJ Rubbaban: Uhhuh. Caddey B: like, dad, send me some more, send me some more females, send me some more females. So on Instagram, just, I'm DJ Rubbaban: See? See? Caddey B: okay. So before next show, I'm going put together, cause I would think about doing this anyways. I will put together a hip hop rap female list of new artists that probably I can get no attention or not enough attention. DJ Rubbaban: That would be good. That would be good. And there's nothing wrong with the sexual stuff, but the whole album Caddey B: No. DJ Rubbaban: is they booty is brown. Caddey B: Yeah. Yeah, no, there's there's a there's actually a bunch of females out there that are spitters. Spitters, yeah, I mean. DJ Rubbaban: Okay. And I wonder what regions they from too. Caddey B: And Snowda products, she just dropped another album. DJ Rubbaban: See, I ain't heard her new album. Caddey B: And she got some bars and she just did it. She was just on with Angie Martinez. DJ Rubbaban: she was? Yeah, you gotta Caddey B: No. DJ Rubbaban: make a list. You gotta make a list, B. You gotta make a list. Yeah, yeah, you gotta make a list. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah, I guarantee I listen to more than I listen to more hip hop and stuff than a lot of our listeners probably. DJ Rubbaban: Right, right. We just gotta get you into some country, you know what mean? And you already you already you a Joaqueese fan, you know what I mean? You a Joaquise fan. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah, I'll stick to the R &B, the blues, you know, but the country, y'all can keep that. I'm not, I'm not feeling it. DJ Rubbaban: Man, I know your mom you well, your mom loved Jolene. That's country. Caddey B: No, moms used to listen to all kinds of countries. She loved her some Garth Brooks and Alan Jackson and you know. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. And country now Caddey B: All of that. DJ Rubbaban: is kinda poppy now. Like it's a lot of country that's really pop. Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: I think they just put a twang in there just to be in that genre too. So a lot of it that's just, she's country. Is she really? It's pop. You know what they say Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: that's driving up CD sales too? It's K-pop. K-pop is br is Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: is pushing it up. Like I listened to a a lot of the young kids. they love K-pop. That's crazy. And that's really RB music from the 80s to me. That they sped up. You know, Teddy Riley did some of that, 4Force did some of the Caddey B: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I need to get into that. DJ Rubbaban: producing. Caddey B: I need to get into that Anderson, Anderson pot. Cause he just did one. Cause he did a K-pop little movie. He did a whole little DJ Rubbaban: K pop song? Yeah, that's Caddey B: album, him and his son, he did it with his son. So he did this whole little K-pop thing. Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, that's big. That's big. Some of our K pop Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: listeners, send me and Caddy to we're gonna come over there to come over there to Korea and we're gonna do a whole thing, you know. We we we gonna do it up. Holler at us, holler at us. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, Caddey B: Okay. DJ Rubbaban: it's really like a little America over there. I mean, we support them, so you know what I mean? Like, long as you don't go to North Korea, you know, but South Korea, you know. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah, it's a whole nother world. DJ Rubbaban: yeah, yeah, yeah. But B, so you you what's what's the shirt you got on? I I see some of these people I know on there. I've heard about, I don't know Caddey B: But yeah, you know, gotta keep up, you know. DJ Rubbaban: That's why you don't like country today? That's why you don't like country today. Uh-uh-uh-uh. Yup, y'all. Caddey B: Yeah, we'll save this spot for a country artist. DJ Rubbaban: Damn, damn, somebody might take that as negative. Have Caddey B: Hahaha DJ Rubbaban: you heard have you heard any new news about the shooter that tragically, you know, killed a few people at the library in in Chico, California? Caddey B: The last thing I saw was that he was pleading not guilty. DJ Rubbaban: Isn't that crazy how everybody see you do it? Caddey B: I'm like, and they're saying that they're probably going to try to go for some DJ Rubbaban: Insanity plea. Caddey B: mental insanity, please, some mental break thing. I don't I mean, we don't know all the ins and outs, but. DJ Rubbaban: Marvin Gay, what's going on? Yeah, you we really don't. But I mean when people see you You know, there's Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: no reality, only the perception. Not to make this connection with this next person, I'm gonna say, but remember when President Clinton got into it with Lewinsky, and they said that he made Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: out with the girl and they found the suit. He said under oath, I did not have relations with that woman. I did not have relations with that woman. There's no reality. Caddey B: Yeah, I did not have sexual relations with that woman. DJ Rubbaban: No reality, only perception. He did something, Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: but maybe he didn't do that that particular act. But how he justified it was, I did not have sexual relationships with that woman. Caddey B: Meh, DJ Rubbaban: Man, what's going on in this world? We need more country. We need more, but yeah, yeah, yeah. Caddey B: Nah, I don't know about that. I don't know about that. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, yeah. I mean, some of this we have to laugh, B, because you know, once this is over and it's over now at the shooting, what happens next? How do we heal? How do we go back to that library? How do we feel safe in that library? What happens after that? What about Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: the people that were lost and all that other stuff in between? How do we come back together and do something? Do we need metal detectors now in the library? Do we need cause little kids get to run around in the kids' part? of the library. Like what do we do now? Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: And not just in Northern California, but all over. Like libraries are a safe place, but a lot of homeless people too. Like a lot of my old clients Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: used to go to the library to change clothes. And they sometimes you know what I mean? Different things. Libraries are safe. You can Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: get anybody can get a library card. You go sit down and read to relax Caddey B: Yeah, it's an open place. DJ Rubbaban: when it's cold, when it's raining, you know. Caddey B: in. DJ Rubbaban: Like shout out libraries and taking care of people. Caddey B: someplace to go and escape, know, those DJ Rubbaban: Mm-hmm. Caddey B: in movie theaters. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. Yeah. I used to go to the library in the hood. I used to go to the library in the hood to do my homework. That's a whole nother story. That's a whole nother story. But yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, building 341, y'all. Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Building 341, y'all. Like, Caddey B: Yeah, we still doing, we still doing a damn thing, you know. DJ Rubbaban: subscribe. Y'all gotta hit y'all gotta subscribe. Subscribe. Don't just check out a little little bit. Subscribe. Holler at us. Holler at us. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. Also follow. Follow our individual DJ Rubbaban: Comments. Shoot comments. Yeah. Caddey B: pages, follow, follow over bands page, follow my page, you know. DJ Rubbaban: And listen to my listen to my homegirl new album, San. San. It's dope. It's dope. Listen anyway. We're gonna try to put that in the comment. Caddey B: Yeah, definitely. DJ Rubbaban: Not the album, but her doing her little freestyle. Just soulful, y'all. Just soulful, man. Just soul. Just we need Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: we need more healing music. We need healing music. You know, not just the music about your booty ho being brown. We need healing music. We need more sade. We need more, you know. You know, what's that song that moms used to like? Caddey B: and give us DJ Rubbaban: Jolene's. We need more Jolene's. She'll she's gonna give us one of those. Less booties being brown. I don't even know if I wanna know the girl booty is brown. I don't know if she needs a wet wipe. You know what mean? Like, I had to listen to that song maybe six times when that song came out. I was like, Did she really just say her booty was brown? Man. Yeah, B. That was a number one Caddey B: Yeah, you know. DJ Rubbaban: hit too. That's why we gotta listen. To my folks, you know, and those other artists we talked Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: about today on Building 341. You know? Caddey B: Definitely, definitely. And give us some more artists too. Give us some more, you know, people that aren't getting enough recognition. I want to hear them. Let me know. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And I'm and I'm curious to listen to your list of female rappers, right? Cause it's gotta be hard to be a female rapper right now. It's so much to just sexualize and go sexual. It's just so remember Lotto, like Lotto, it took Lotto a minute before she really got because Lotto was just a freestyler. Lotto reminded me of the game. Like she could just spit. She still could spit, but she probably Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: has to do the sexual stuff in order to sell. Quite sure. You know. Caddey B: I mean, you know, we're all human. all have the same, you know, being you, have the same body. Women have the same bodies as other women. DJ Rubbaban: Right. Caddey B: So there's only things you, you know, you're going to talk that shit. You're going to talk that talk. So you can sit there and say, my dick, suck my clit, whatever. DJ Rubbaban: Right, right. Caddey B: you know, not everybody's booty hole is brand. DJ Rubbaban: Right, right. Some of them are pink, you know what I'm saying? Hopefully. Caddey B: Some of them are bleached. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. Yeah. Shout out Miami. Yeah. Caddey B: Some of them are hairy. You never know. DJ Rubbaban: Speaking of of bleach booties, Young Young Miami got a new hit out. And she's on Rick Roth's new album, I think too. You know how Young Miami Caddey B: There. DJ Rubbaban: must have really good PR? Cause she was caught up in that P. Diddy whole scandal. And she got a number one song out. Caddey B: Disappeared disappeared DJ Rubbaban: She ain't even affiliated with him. You know what I'm saying? Like, she did a song with Fat Joe. She did a s new song with Rick Ross. And she was at the BET Awards. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Everybody was giving her her peas. And she could've told. I ain't saying Caddey B: Damn. DJ Rubbaban: she told, but Caddey B: Inevita. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. Shout out young Miami. Caddey B: Never know. DJ Rubbaban: No no dissing, nothing but love, young Miami. You know what I'm saying? I hope she make your list. Caddey B: Even if. DJ Rubbaban: I hope she make your list, B. You you pausing. You pausing too long. You pausing too long. Caddey B: Nah, I'll guarantee you that most of that list you won't even ever have heard of. DJ Rubbaban: Now you being objective. Because look at look at somebody from back. I'm saying her same city, right? No disrespect. Trina. Trina's from Miami Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: too. Trina had a certain cadence of rap. Like she wasn't super lyrical, but she has songs that made you move. Trina did her thing. Caddey B: yeah, yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: You know what I'm saying? But Trina didn't tell us her booty was brown, though. But, you know, Trina did say, you don't know now. Yeah. Caddey B: She tell you some other things. She tell you some things she do. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, Trina was bad too. She was the baddest. Yeah. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah, yeah, she was hard. Yeah, for sure. She still got some flow. DJ Rubbaban: Yes she do. And doesn't she seem to Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: carry herself well? Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: I ain't putting I ain't I ain't saying nothing negative, but you know it was Tiny's birthday a couple days ago as we record this. It was Tiny's birthday a couple days ago. And You know what's crazy? Caddey B: You made it longer than I thought you would. You made it a whole hour before you brought it in. you get your piece on that. When I give it to you, go ahead, do your thing. Do your thing. Go ahead. What's up, Tiny? DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. Shout out Tiny. Shout out Tiny. Shout out Tiny. Shout out Tiny. Okay, I will say this. No, no, no. I will say this. And this this didn't happen recently, but at one point, Tip had a a club. He had a club a restaurant. And it's crazy, like some of my friends in the industry be like, man, I ain't getting on your podcast, man. I don't get on podcast because I'll get in trouble. Cause you know these people, everybody know each other, they connected, you know, this and that. And so my boy was telling me a story about when Tip had his restaurant. He sat and talked with Tip and drink. I was like, I never hear nothing but good stuff about Tip. I never hear nothing but good stuff about Tiny. And people usually tell me, because they know I love me some tiny, they'll go, She she's smaller in person, or she's real nice. She's I was like, damn, why you say it like that? No, I'm just saying, like, I didn't know she was gonna be nice. You know, both of them, you know, very engaging kind of people. And so Caddey B: Yeah DJ Rubbaban: and so it's just a trip, like nobody and a lot of people know that, you know, and they'll they'll be waiting to tell me something bad, like, man, man, I ran into so-and-so. Man, I ran into so-and-so. Man, like I Caddey B: Mm-hmm. DJ Rubbaban: like like one of my first DJ people that I looked up to probably was Grandmaster Flash, Grandmaster Flash and Afarious Five. Cause it was no it was no visual pictures in the beginning that you saw because it wasn't no internet. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: And just his style inventing the whole concept of that piece of genre that we still use today. and DJs talk. There's Caddey B: yeah. DJ Rubbaban: all kinds of DJ forms, other DJs, we all talk, and people know I you know, I send my, you know, and so I always hear stories that aren't too favorable about personalities with Grandmaster Flash. And a lot of people, when it's just DJs or music people, they'll go, Sometimes you don't want to meet your heroes in the music business. Like sometimes you really don't want to meet your heroes in the music podcast. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: And I tr and that's one of the things I try to do in radio, because sometimes, dude, I just didn't want to be bothered. And people come up and they want to take a picture or they want to talk to you about their brother that rap or I want to be on your show. And I'd be wanting to say, I mean, you know me. So you know me. I'm like, I want to say, get out of my face sometimes. You know, but you can't. And so Caddey B: Yeah, I'm a person just like you like DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, and so I I take all that with a grain of salt. So when my when my people told me this was a while ago when and then I T I I don't think he has that that club that bar open or whatever no more, but when he did, she was telling me how man he ch he smelled ti tip smelled good, he was nice and da da da da. But Tiny, she looked better than I thought she did. And I was like and I told my homegirl, I was like, bitch, she looked better than you. And she was like, I don't know what it is with you and her. Man, I don't know what it is with you and me. And don't you be calling me no bitch. And we start laughing, but shout out Tiny and her birthday. Caddey B: Uhhhh DJ Rubbaban: You know what I'm saying? Yeah, yeah. We're gonna get it out of you. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: We're gonna get it out of you, B, who you who you really like in the industry, who you got a crush on in the industry. We gonna get it out of you one of these days. We're gonna get it out. I see you pausing right now. We're gonna. Caddey B: I can't think of one, but I'll work on it for you. Just for you, I'll work on it. DJ Rubbaban: That's fucked up right there. See? I mean, Caddey B: Thanks. DJ Rubbaban: I got more than one, but I'm just saying. Yeah, I got more than one. But shout out. Yeah, shout out Tiny Man. Dude, okay, one last thing I'ma say. Let me say that about this girl before I get. Let me say this about this girl before I forget. When I was in Caddey B: I know, I know. We know, we know. Yeah. One more thing also. One last thing I was gonna ask you. Go ahead, go ahead. DJ Rubbaban: Texas, dude, I seen this girl. I don't know if I said it earlier. She had to be. And no shame. Three something, maybe five, two. Maybe five, five, two, five, one and a half. Makeup down, it's hot as hell in Texas. Makeup down, weave on, shades. She had about two, three inch heels on all that leg, thigh. And the bitch looked good. She wasn't my style, but the bitch looked good. And we was in the restaurant eating. And I kept looking over there, and my I was like, Is she real? He was like, nigga, that's how they grow them down here. I was like, Caddey B: You DJ Rubbaban: Damn, the South. The South, man. You know, you feel good. You feel good. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Like, like me, I felt good being a big dude and trying to be conscious of that. Cause Caddey B: Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. DJ Rubbaban: there it was it was a lot of big people. You know, in California, everybody's very health conscious, lose weight. I'm doing this. Here's my supplements. This and this and this Caddey B: yeah. DJ Rubbaban: in the South man. In the South Man. Three she had to be. I mean, when I say huge, I mean And no and I don't want nobody to get nothing wrong that I'm disrespecting nobody, but be happy who you are, embrace it, love it. You know what I'm saying? Caddey B: Definitely. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, B. Yeah. Caddey B: Definitely, you gotta embrace it, you gotta love that. DJ Rubbaban: Cause I know all your women you ever dated was a buckle five, B. I done seen some of the ones that I ain't never seen you in one that wasn't over a buckle five. Maybe 120. For real? What? Caddey B: Not true. Not true. Nah. Yeah. That was it. Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Aye, aye, aye. None over two though. Nobody Caddey B: There was one that... DJ Rubbaban: over two though. Look, I'm gonna throw two out there. None over two. Caddey B: There was this one, nobody ever saw her, but we used to call her Big Bird. DJ Rubbaban: Hey, hey, hey, that's how you do it. Look, that's how you do it. Full disclosure. Keep going. I'm shutting up. That's all I'm getting. That's all I'm getting on Big Bird, huh? Caddey B: Yeah, yeah, yeah That's that's that's it. That's it. That's So y'all I'm big bird That's all it But there was one more thing I want to bring DJ Rubbaban: Did she crackle? Caddey B: up DJ Rubbaban: Did she crackle? Did she make noise? Caddey B: She just shaped just like Big Bird with neck. DJ Rubbaban: All right, all right. Shout out Big Bird. Come on the show. Caddey B: Nah, but one more music tip that I wanted to share was the Forticulture part three. DJ Rubbaban: Say it again for me. Caddey B: for the culture part three. So Sway DJ Rubbaban: Okay. Caddey B: and Tech and DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. Caddey B: then they got that SKT network. Well, also they've DJ Rubbaban: Uh-huh. Caddey B: been putting on for the culture and I wanted to go. I was gonna see if we could try to go. It's on August 22nd, but it conflicts with something else I got going on so I can't go. But this one, they giving it up for Cypress Hill, Exhibit, Pharaoh. DJ Cash Money. What else we got? They got the LV super crude air. They got all kinds of things going on. DJ Rubbaban: And they've been growing and they've been growing in their channel too, huh? Yeah, they've been growing. Caddey B: yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: So it seemed like it just be like, Caddey B: Yeah, they've been, and they've been giving it up. DJ Rubbaban: yeah, like even after the show, it's just running Like, you know I mean? Like the footage. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah, it's always on SKT. Yeah, you can get it on their network and you can you can watch it later on. But it's down there at Avalon at the Hollywood tickets are only 50 bucks. DJ Rubbaban: That's it? Caddey B: Yeah. That would be that would be a lovely thing. Yeah. Caddey B: international little people. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. You know what you might do too, right? You need to be in one of those bars. We need to set it up. And you need to we need to do a show in one of them bars and walk around. Caddey B: So I'm gonna spend my birthday out there as well. So DJ Rubbaban: Okay. Caddey B: I might try to jump on our Instagram and go live while we out. DJ Rubbaban: Okay, okay. Caddey B: So let us know in the comments if y'all would tune into that if we go live. DJ Rubbaban: Romania, Romania and Caddey B: I'm going to be 10 hours ahead, so it's going to be probably like in the middle of the day. DJ Rubbaban: yeah. yeah. yeah. Caddey B: So that'll work for you. DJ Rubbaban: I need you to get somebody really unusual to come sit down and talk with us. I need I need that from Romania. Cause right now in my head, as much as I've heard stories about Romania and conversations about Romania, I know people from Romania. I'm needing more from Romania. I I'm needing more. It'll be live. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Mm-hmm. Caddey B: yeah. DJ Rubbaban: And fans of Building 341, we're gonna get a big bird story out of at some point. We're gonna get one out. You know, I shared, look, I shared and got weak. I shared and got weak. A tiny story, and I can't live it down. Caddey B: Watch, DJ Rubbaban: Building three forty one. Caddey B: I guarantee my boy, he's gonna see this and he's be like, he's gonna call me. He'll be like, Big Bird. He knows what's up. DJ Rubbaban: You stupid. That's she's all made up, y'all. We just playin'. We set this whole thing up for him to say that. None of that's real. We set that up, y'all. You know how we joke. We that's just how we joke. You know how we joke. It's really no big bird. I'm really not feeling tiny. Nothing bad about it. That's just a joke. Big bird and none of that. And not even equating that Tiny would be any part of what Big Bird was, but yeah. Yeah. Caddey B: Hahaha DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. And you know it was Tiny's birthday. couple days ago.
