Arizona State University is pulling its eminent domain lawsuit to keep a historic 1902 home in downtown Phoenix, after owner Robert Young refused to sell and vowed to fight all the way to trial. The Louis Emerson House, a small 8,300-square-foot gem on a tenth of an acre, may have been saved thanks to pressure from country singer John Rich, who’s acting as a special envoy for landowners — though ASU hasn’t confirmed his role.
