Recharge | Fall Week 1 | Boast of Christ's Accomplishments
John the Baptist's imprisonment led to doubts about Jesus fulfilling the role of Messiah, as his expectations of a political liberator were unmet. Jesus' response, emphasizing his miraculous works, teaches us that God's plan may differ from our expectations. The Gospel, Jesus explains, is revealed to the humble, while pride blinds the 'wise' from seeing their need for Christ. We are called to boast in Christ, not ourselves, and to embrace humility to fully accept the Gospel.
