  Thanks

• 1:25
  We
• 1:25

  great

  of

  my

  good

  friends,
• 1:31
  John
• 1:31
  Dudley
• 1:32
  in
• 1:32
  the
• 1:32
  house.
• 1:33
  Former
• 1:34
  contractor
• 1:35
  that
• 1:35
  I
• 1:35
  met
• 1:36
  25
• 1:37
  years
• 1:37
  ago.
• 1:37
  Probably
• 1:39
  we
• 1:39
  played
• 1:39
  in
• 1:39
  bands
• 1:40
  together.
• 1:40
  Now
• 1:40
  he
• 1:41
  is
• 1:41
  the
• 1:41
  brainchild
• 1:42
  behind
• 1:43
  the

  so
• 1:46
  many

  If

• 1:52
  welcome

• 1:55
  Brother.
• 1:55
  Thanks
• 1:56
  for
• 1:56
  having
• 1:56
  me,
• 1:56
  man.
• 1:56
  I'm
• 1:57
  a
• 1:57
  little
• 1:57
  camera
• 1:58
  shy.
• 1:58
  Believe
• 1:58
  it
• 1:58
  or
• 1:58
  not,
• 1:59
  for
• 1:59
  a
• 1:59
  guy
• 1:59
  that
• 1:59
  stands
• 1:59
  in
• 2:00
  front
• 2:00
  of
• 2:00
  people
• 2:00
  and
• 2:00
  screams
• 2:01
  his
• 2:01
  lungs
• 2:01
  out,
• 2:02
  dude,
• 2:02
  this
• 2:02
  is.
• 2:03
  The
• 2:03
  perfect
• 2:03
  topic
• 2:04
  today
• 2:04
  because
• 2:05
  I
• 2:05
  was
• 2:05
  sitting
• 2:05
  there
• 2:05
  last
• 2:06
  night
• 2:06
  at
• 2:06
  my
• 2:06
  buddy
• 2:06
  Cam's
• 2:07
  house
• 2:07
  and
• 2:07
  probably
• 2:08
  some
• 2:08
  video
• 2:08
  coming
• 2:09
  up
• 2:09
  on
• 2:09
  that
• 2:09
  we're
• 2:09
  walking
• 2:10
  through,
• 2:10
  and
• 2:10
  he's
• 2:11
  really
• 2:11
  trying
• 2:11
  to
• 2:12
  get
• 2:12
  this
• 2:12
  house
• 2:12
  dialed
• 2:13
  in
• 2:13
  because
• 2:13
  he
• 2:13
  bought
• 2:13
  it
• 2:13
  for
• 2:13
  the
• 2:14
  property.
• 2:14
  It
• 2:14
  was
• 2:14
  like
• 2:14
  1888
• 2:15
  makers.
• 2:16
  Having
• 2:16
  fun
• 2:16
  with
• 2:16
  it.
• 2:17
  It's
• 2:17
  totally
• 2:17
  cool,
• 2:18
  but
• 2:19
  it's
• 2:19
  also
• 2:19
  a
• 2:19
  blank
• 2:20
  slate.
• 2:20
  And
• 2:20
  he's,
• 2:21
  oh,
• 2:21
  my
• 2:21
  gosh,
• 2:22
  the
• 2:22
  guy
• 2:22
  can
• 2:22
  build
• 2:22
  some
• 2:23
  amazing
• 2:23
  furniture,
• 2:24
  but
• 2:24
  he's
• 2:25
  not
• 2:25
  a
• 2:25
  remodeling
• 2:26
  contractor,
• 2:26
  right?
• 2:26
  So
• 2:27
  he's
• 2:27
  like
• 2:28
  many
• 2:28
  homeowners.
• 2:29
  All
• 2:29
  right,
• 2:29
  I
• 2:30
  got
• 2:30
  a
• 2:30
  project.
• 2:31
  Where
• 2:31
  do
• 2:31
  I
• 2:32
  start?
• 2:33
  And
• 2:34
  as
• 2:34
  we've
• 2:35
  all
• 2:35
  done
• 2:35
  it
• 2:35
  ourselves,
• 2:36
  if
• 2:36
  you
• 2:36
  do
• 2:36
  that
• 2:36
  out
• 2:37
  of
• 2:37
  order,
• 2:38
  you
• 2:38
  end
• 2:38
  up
• 2:38
  doing
• 2:39
  stuff
• 2:39
  twice.
• 2:39
  Like,
• 2:39
  you
• 2:40
  go,
• 2:40
  oh,
• 2:40
  I'm
• 2:40
  going
• 2:40
  to
• 2:40
  remodel
• 2:41
  the
• 2:41
  bathroom.
• 2:42
  You
• 2:42
  do
• 2:42
  that
• 2:42
  first.
• 2:43
  And
• 2:43
  then
• 2:43
  when
• 2:43
  you
• 2:43
  go
• 2:43
  to
• 2:43
  remodel
• 2:44
  the
• 2:44
  next
• 2:44
  bathroom,
• 2:45
  you're
• 2:45
  like,
• 2:45
  oh,
• 2:45
  man,
• 2:45
  I
• 2:45
  gotta
• 2:46
  get
• 2:46
  to
• 2:46
  the
• 2:46
  bathroom
• 2:46
  wall
• 2:47
  that
• 2:47
  I
• 2:47
  just
• 2:48
  finished
• 2:49
  to
• 2:50
  get
• 2:50
  it
• 2:50
  tapped
• 2:50
  into
• 2:51
  that
• 2:51
  plumbing
• 2:51
  that
• 2:51
  I
• 2:51
  didn't
• 2:52
  think
• 2:52
  about.
• 2:52
  It's
• 2:53
  space.
• 2:54
  The
• 2:54
  blank
• 2:54
  slate
• 2:56
  without
• 2:56
  a
• 2:56
  brilliant
• 2:57
  plan
• 2:58
  is
• 2:58
  a
• 2:58
  dangerous
• 2:59
  playground,
• 3:00
  my
• 3:00
  friend.
• 3:00
  As
• 3:01
  we
• 3:01
  all
• 3:01
  have
• 3:01
  learned
• 3:02
  the
• 3:02
  hard
• 3:02
  way.
• 3:02
  Like,
• 3:03
  perfect
• 3:03
  example.
• 3:04
  Like,
• 3:05
  that's
• 3:05
  a
• 3:05
  beautiful
• 3:06
  wall
• 3:06
  that
• 3:07
  now
• 3:07
  I
• 3:08
  have
• 3:08
  to
• 3:08
  tear
• 3:08
  out.
• 3:09
  Oh,
• 3:09
  yeah,
• 3:10
  dude.
• 3:11
  And
• 3:11
  we've
• 3:11
  all
• 3:11
  done
• 3:11
  it.
• 3:12
  You
• 3:12
  know
• 3:12
  that
• 3:12
  electrician
• 3:13
  that
• 3:13
  comes
• 3:13
  in
• 3:13
  at
• 3:13
  the
• 3:14
  Last
• 3:14
  minute
• 3:14
  because
• 3:15
  somebody
• 3:16
  decided
• 3:16
  to
• 3:16
  add
• 3:16
  light
• 3:17
  sconces
• 3:17
  around
• 3:18
  the
• 3:18
  fireplace
• 3:18
  after
• 3:19
  the
• 3:19
  project's
• 3:19
  done
• 3:20
  that
• 3:20
  you've
• 3:20
  been
• 3:20
  trying
• 3:21
  to
• 3:21
  get
• 3:21
  them
• 3:21
  to
• 3:21
  do
• 3:21
  the
• 3:21
  light
• 3:22
  sconces
• 3:22
  on
• 3:23
  and
• 3:23
  they
• 3:23
  said
• 3:23
  no.
• 3:24
  And
• 3:24
  then
• 3:24
  they
• 3:24
  get
• 3:24
  it
• 3:24
  done
• 3:24
  and
• 3:24
  go,
• 3:25
  oh,
• 3:25
  that
• 3:25
  would
• 3:26
  have
• 3:26
  been
• 3:26
  awesome
• 3:26
  to
• 3:27
  have
• 3:27
  those
• 3:27
  light
• 3:27
  sconces.
• 3:28
  Now
• 3:29
  the
• 3:29
  electrician's
• 3:29
  in
• 3:30
  there
• 3:30
  poking
• 3:30
  holes,
• 3:30
  right?
• 3:31
  Poking
• 3:32
  holes.
• 3:32
  Or
• 3:32
  cutting
• 3:33
  out
• 3:33
  a
• 3:33
  6
• 3:33
  inch
• 3:34
  channel
• 3:34
  for
• 3:34
  4
• 3:35
  foot
• 3:35
  down
• 3:36
  on
• 3:36
  a
• 3:36
  burgundy
• 3:37
  wall
• 3:37
  that
• 3:37
  you
• 3:37
  had
• 3:38
  to
• 3:38
  5
• 3:38
  co
• 3:39
  paint
• 3:39
  because
• 3:39
  burgundy
• 3:40
  sucks.
• 3:41
  And
• 3:41
  you're
• 3:41
  like.
• 3:42
  And
• 3:42
  then
• 3:42
  it
• 3:42
  still
• 3:42
  won't
• 3:43
  match
• 3:43
  no
• 3:43
  matter
• 3:43
  how
• 3:44
  many
• 3:44
  coat.
• 3:44
  Now
• 3:44
  you're
• 3:44
  painting
• 3:45
  the
• 3:45
  whole
• 3:45
  room
• 3:45
  again.
• 3:46
  All
• 3:46
  over
• 3:47
  a
• 3:47
  sconce.
• 3:48
  Love
• 3:48
  it.
• 3:49
  Oh
• 3:49
  yeah,
• 3:50
  absolutely.
• 3:51
  Funny
• 3:51
  story,
• 3:51
  I
• 3:51
  was
• 3:51
  talking
• 3:52
  to
• 3:52
  the
• 3:52
  guy
• 3:52
  over
• 3:52
  who's
• 3:52
  doing
• 3:53
  a
• 3:53
  lot
• 3:53
  of
• 3:53
  the
• 3:53
  work
• 3:53
  on
• 3:53
  my
• 3:53
  house
• 3:54
  right
• 3:54
  now
• 3:54
  because
• 3:54
  I
• 3:54
  hate
• 3:55
  drywall.
• 3:55
  Probably
• 3:55
  like
• 3:56
  you
• 3:56
  hate
• 3:56
  drywall.
• 3:57
  And
• 3:57
  it's
• 3:58
  so
• 3:58
  nice
• 3:58
  when
• 3:58
  you
• 3:58
  get
• 3:58
  a
• 3:59
  guy
• 3:59
  that's
• 3:59
  good,
• 3:59
  he's
• 3:59
  overdoing
• 4:00
  the
• 4:00
  ceilings
• 4:00
  in
• 4:01
  my
• 4:01
  place
• 4:01
  right
• 4:01
  now
• 4:01
  so
• 4:02
  I
• 4:02
  can
• 4:02
  get
• 4:02
  that
• 4:02
  thing
• 4:02
  on
• 4:02
  the
• 4:02
  market.
• 4:03
  And
• 4:04
  he
• 4:04
  was
• 4:04
  just
• 4:04
  in
• 4:04
  a
• 4:05
  condo
• 4:05
  project
• 4:06
  and
• 4:06
  the
• 4:06
  glass
• 4:07
  went
• 4:07
  beyond
• 4:07
  the
• 4:08
  ceiling
• 4:08
  because
• 4:08
  the
• 4:08
  glass
• 4:09
  went
• 4:09
  between
• 4:09
  the
• 4:10
  units
• 4:10
  and
• 4:11
  so
• 4:11
  we
• 4:11
  is
• 4:12
  light.
• 4:13
  And
• 4:13
  it
• 4:13
  was
• 4:13
  a
• 4:13
  Level
• 4:13
  5
• 4:14
  finish
• 4:14
  on
• 4:14
  the
• 4:14
  ceiling.
• 4:15
  And
• 4:15
  the
• 4:15
  light
• 4:16
  when
• 4:16
  the
• 4:16
  sun
• 4:17
  was
• 4:17
  out
• 4:17
  during
• 4:17
  the
• 4:17
  day
• 4:18
  cut
• 4:18
  right
• 4:18
  across
• 4:19
  the
• 4:20
  line
• 4:20
  of
• 4:20
  the
• 4:20
  ceiling.
• 4:20
  He
• 4:21
  goes,
• 4:21
  you
• 4:22
  could
• 4:22
  only
• 4:22
  spray
• 4:22
  it.
• 4:23
  If
• 4:23
  you
• 4:23
  back
• 4:23
  rolled
• 4:24
  it,
• 4:24
  you
• 4:24
  could
• 4:24
  see
• 4:24
  the
• 4:25
  roller
• 4:25
  marks.
• 4:25
  No
• 4:25
  matter
• 4:26
  what
• 4:26
  paint?
• 4:26
  No
• 4:26
  matter
• 4:27
  what
• 4:27
  roller.
• 4:27
  Yes.
• 4:28
  It
• 4:28
  was
• 4:28
  a
• 4:28
  nightmare.
• 4:29
  He
• 4:29
  goes,
• 4:30
  and
• 4:30
  if
• 4:30
  somebody
• 4:30
  nicked
• 4:31
  the
• 4:31
  ceiling,
• 4:31
  you
• 4:31
  had
• 4:31
  to
• 4:32
  do
• 4:32
  the
• 4:32
  whole
• 4:32
  unit
• 4:33
  ceiling
• 4:33
  because
• 4:33
  it
• 4:33
  was
• 4:34
  all
• 4:34
  open
• 4:35
  and
• 4:35
  same
• 4:36
  kind
• 4:36
  of
• 4:36
  thing,
• 4:36
  you
• 4:36
  just
• 4:37
  couldn't
• 4:37
  ever
• 4:37
  get
• 4:37
  it
• 4:38
  100%.
• 4:39
  And
• 4:39
  that
• 4:39
  was
• 4:39
  an
• 4:39
  architectural
• 4:40
  design
• 4:40
  flaw
• 4:41
  really
• 4:41
  because
• 4:41
  they
• 4:41
  took
• 4:41
  the
• 4:41
  glass
• 4:42
  up
• 4:42
  too
• 4:42
  high
• 4:42
  to
• 4:42
  the
• 4:43
  ceiling.
• 4:43
  That
• 4:43
  just
• 4:44
  showed
• 4:44
  every
• 4:45
  little
• 4:45
  bit
• 4:45
  of
• 4:46
  wave
• 4:46
  in
• 4:46
  it
• 4:46
  or
• 4:46
  every
• 4:47
  little
• 4:47
  texture
• 4:48
  change
• 4:48
  from
• 4:48
  just
• 4:49
  from
• 4:49
  a
• 4:49
  paint
• 4:49
  roller
• 4:49
  putting
• 4:50
  on
• 4:50
  matte
• 4:50
  finish
• 4:51
  paint.
• 4:51
  And
• 4:52
  nobody
• 4:52
  brought
• 4:52
  out
• 4:52
  the
• 4:53
  airbrush.
• 4:53
  That's
• 4:54
  what
• 4:54
  I
• 4:54
  would
• 4:54
  have
• 4:54
  done.
• 4:55
  And
• 4:55
  it's
• 4:55
  funny,
• 4:55
  I've
• 4:56
  seen
• 4:56
  that
• 4:56
  too
• 4:56
  where
• 4:57
  all
• 4:57
  of
• 4:57
  a
• 4:57
  sudden,
• 4:58
  especially
• 4:58
  with
• 4:58
  slab
• 4:59
  on
• 4:59
  grade
• 4:59
  homes
• 5:00
  where,
• 5:00
  oh,
• 5:00
  I'm
• 5:00
  going
• 5:00
  to
• 5:00
  do
• 5:00
  this
• 5:01
  now.
• 5:01
  And
• 5:01
  all
• 5:01
  of
• 5:01
  a
• 5:01
  sudden
• 5:01
  the
• 5:01
  flooring
• 5:02
  that
• 5:02
  just
• 5:02
  went
• 5:02
  down
• 5:03
  and
• 5:04
  now
• 5:04
  you're
• 5:04
  channeling
• 5:05
  through
• 5:05
  the
• 5:05
  concrete
• 5:06
  a
• 5:07
  water
• 5:07
  line
• 5:07
  to
• 5:07
  get
• 5:08
  it
• 5:08
  through
• 5:08
  to
• 5:08
  the
• 5:08
  other
• 5:08
  room
• 5:08
  over
• 5:09
  there
• 5:09
  or
• 5:09
  something
• 5:09
  like
• 5:09
  that,
• 5:10
  or
• 5:10
  you're
• 5:10
  adding
• 5:10
  a
• 5:10
  circuit
• 5:11
  and
• 5:11
  those
• 5:11
  things
• 5:12
  can
• 5:12
  just
• 5:12
  be
• 5:12
  so
• 5:12
  crazy.
• 5:13
  And
• 5:13
  so
• 5:13
  what
• 5:13
  I
• 5:13
  talk
• 5:14
  about
• 5:14
  a
• 5:14
  lot
• 5:14
  and
• 5:14
  what
• 5:15
  I
• 5:15
  like
• 5:15
  to
• 5:15
  talk
• 5:15
  about
• 5:15
  is
• 5:15
  when
• 5:16
  you're
• 5:16
  dive
• 5:17
  into
• 5:17
  a
• 5:17
  project,
• 5:17
  let's
• 5:18
  say
• 5:18
  like
• 5:18
  A
• 5:18
  kitchen
• 5:18
  remodel,
• 5:20
  man,
• 5:20
  that
• 5:20
  plan
• 5:21
  for
• 5:21
  the
• 5:21
  whole
• 5:21
  house,
• 5:21
  you're
• 5:22
  better
• 5:22
  off
• 5:22
  to
• 5:23
  really
• 5:23
  dream
• 5:24
  the
• 5:24
  whole
• 5:24
  house
• 5:24
  up.
• 5:25
  So
• 5:25
  you
• 5:25
  know
• 5:25
  that,
• 5:26
  oh
• 5:26
  wait,
• 5:26
  I'm
• 5:26
  going
• 5:27
  to
• 5:27
  need
• 5:27
  four
• 5:27
  electrical
• 5:28
  circuits
• 5:29
  in
• 5:29
  the
• 5:29
  kitchen.
• 5:29
  But
• 5:30
  if
• 5:30
  all
• 5:31
  that
• 5:31
  electricity
• 5:31
  from
• 5:32
  the
• 5:32
  bathrooms
• 5:32
  to
• 5:32
  the
• 5:33
  bedroom
• 5:33
  has
• 5:34
  to
• 5:34
  go
• 5:34
  in
• 5:34
  there,
• 5:34
  you
• 5:35
  better
• 5:35
  leave
• 5:35
  a
• 5:35
  space
• 5:35
  to
• 5:36
  at
• 5:36
  least
• 5:37
  run
• 5:37
  some
• 5:37
  electrical
• 5:38
  over
• 5:38
  to
• 5:38
  those
• 5:39
  spaces
• 5:39
  so
• 5:40
  you're
• 5:40
  not
• 5:40
  tearing
• 5:41
  those
• 5:41
  walls
• 5:41
  back
• 5:41
  open
• 5:42
  again.
• 5:42
  Because
• 5:42
  so
• 5:42
  many
• 5:43
  times
• 5:44
  you
• 5:44
  end
• 5:44
  up
• 5:44
  having
• 5:44
  to
• 5:45
  go
• 5:45
  back
• 5:45
  and
• 5:45
  redo
• 5:45
  it,
• 5:45
  which
• 5:46
  means
• 5:46
  you're
• 5:46
  paying
• 5:46
  twice
• 5:47
  for
• 5:47
  it.
• 5:47
  It's
• 5:48
  another
• 5:48
  version
• 5:48
  of
• 5:49
  measure
• 5:49
  twice,
• 5:50
  cut
• 5:51
  once.
• 5:52
  And
• 5:52
  if
• 5:52
  you.
• 5:52
  That's
• 5:53
  exactly
• 5:53
  it.
• 5:54
  We
• 5:54
  talked
• 5:54
  a
• 5:55
  little
• 5:55
  bit
• 5:55
  about
• 5:55
  this
• 5:55
  before.
• 5:56
  If
• 5:56
  you
• 5:56
  don't
• 5:56
  plan
• 5:57
  from
• 5:57
  the
• 5:57
  first
• 5:57
  screw
• 5:58
  to
• 5:58
  the
• 5:58
  last
• 5:58
  screw,
• 5:59
  you're
• 5:59
  going
• 5:59
  to
• 5:59
  get
• 5:59
  screwed
• 6:00
  there'.
• 6:01
  No,
• 6:01
  you
• 6:02
  can't
• 6:02
  just
• 6:02
  willy
• 6:02
  nilly,
• 6:03
  you
• 6:03
  can't
• 6:03
  just
• 6:03
  focus
• 6:04
  on
• 6:04
  the
• 6:04
  kitchen
• 6:05
  and
• 6:05
  then
• 6:05
  realize,
• 6:06
  oh,
• 6:06
  you
• 6:07
  right.
• 6:07
  And
• 6:07
  you
• 6:07
  have
• 6:08
  to
• 6:08
  compensate
• 6:09
  for
• 6:09
  the
• 6:09
  fact
• 6:09
  that
• 6:09
  you're
• 6:10
  going
• 6:10
  to
• 6:10
  change
• 6:10
  your
• 6:10
  mind.
• 6:11
  These
• 6:11
  are
• 6:11
  lessons
• 6:11
  you
• 6:12
  don't
• 6:12
  learn
• 6:12
  until
• 6:13
  you've
• 6:13
  done
• 6:13
  it
• 6:13
  a
• 6:14
  few
• 6:14
  times
• 6:14
  or
• 6:15
  you
• 6:15
  consult
• 6:16
  with
• 6:16
  some
• 6:16
  good
• 6:16
  experts
• 6:17
  or
• 6:17
  you
• 6:17
  listen
• 6:17
  to
• 6:17
  your
• 6:18
  show
• 6:18
  and
• 6:18
  get
• 6:18
  some
• 6:18
  good
• 6:19
  tips.
• 6:19
  Run
• 6:20
  an
• 6:20
  extra
• 6:20
  conduit
• 6:21
  so
• 6:21
  you
• 6:21
  can
• 6:21
  get
• 6:22
  it
• 6:22
  from
• 6:22
  the
• 6:22
  ceiling
• 6:23
  or
• 6:23
  from
• 6:24
  the
• 6:24
  attic
• 6:24
  space
• 6:24
  and
• 6:25
  you
• 6:25
  don't
• 6:25
  have
• 6:25
  to
• 6:25
  carve
• 6:26
  a
• 6:26
  giant
• 6:26
  hole
• 6:26
  in
• 6:26
  your
• 6:27
  beautiful
• 6:28
  kitchen
• 6:28
  backsplash
• 6:29
  and
• 6:30
  things
• 6:30
  like
• 6:30
  that.
• 6:31
  And
• 6:31
  it.
• 6:32
  And
• 6:32
  again,
• 6:33
  unless
• 6:33
  you've
• 6:33
  done
• 6:34
  it
• 6:34
  a
• 6:34
  thousand
• 6:34
  times
• 6:35
  like
• 6:35
  us,
• 6:35
  you
• 6:36
  better
• 6:36
  plan
• 6:36
  and
• 6:37
  then
• 6:37
  plan
• 6:37
  again
• 6:37
  and
• 6:38
  then
• 6:38
  think
• 6:38
  about,
• 6:39
  think
• 6:39
  on
• 6:39
  it
• 6:39
  for
• 6:39
  a
• 6:39
  month
• 6:40
  and
• 6:40
  then
• 6:40
  plan
• 6:40
  again.
• 6:41
  It's
• 6:42
  always
• 6:42
  something.
• 6:43
  It's
• 6:43
  always
• 6:43
  something,
• 6:44
  always
• 6:44
  something.
• 6:45
  And
• 6:45
  for
• 6:45
  the
• 6:45
  homeowners
• 6:46
  out
• 6:46
  there
• 6:46
  that
• 6:46
  are
• 6:46
  like,
• 6:47
  oh,
• 6:47
  I've
• 6:47
  already
• 6:47
  done
• 6:48
  one
• 6:48
  kitchen
• 6:48
  model,
• 6:49
  I've
• 6:49
  already
• 6:49
  been
• 6:49
  through
• 6:49
  it.
• 6:50
  Building
• 6:50
  code
• 6:51
  changes
• 6:52
  so
• 6:52
  often
• 6:53
  now,
• 6:54
  like
• 6:54
  great
• 6:54
  example,
• 6:55
  I
• 6:55
  know
• 6:55
  you
• 6:56
  know,
• 6:56
  Johnny,
• 6:56
  you've
• 6:56
  been
• 6:56
  down
• 6:57
  in
• 6:57
  Colombia
• 6:58
  now
• 6:58
  for
• 6:58
  a
• 6:58
  while,
• 6:59
  but
• 6:59
  great
• 7:00
  example,
• 7:00
  back
• 7:00
  when
• 7:01
  you
• 7:01
  and
• 7:01
  I
• 7:01
  were
• 7:01
  doing
• 7:02
  kitchens
• 7:02
  together,
• 7:03
  you
• 7:03
  had
• 7:03
  to
• 7:03
  have
• 7:03
  the
• 7:04
  outlet
• 7:04
  in
• 7:04
  the
• 7:05
  side
• 7:05
  of
• 7:05
  the
• 7:05
  island.
• 7:06
  Got
• 7:06
  to
• 7:06
  have
• 7:06
  that
• 7:06
  outlet
• 7:06
  there
• 7:07
  on
• 7:07
  the
• 7:07
  side
• 7:07
  of
• 7:07
  the
• 7:07
  island.
• 7:08
  Now
• 7:08
  because
• 7:09
  enough
• 7:09
  people
• 7:10
  walk
• 7:11
  past
• 7:11
  the
• 7:11
  island
• 7:11
  and
• 7:12
  drug
• 7:12
  the
• 7:12
  cord
• 7:13
  off
• 7:13
  the
• 7:13
  side
• 7:13
  of
• 7:13
  the
• 7:13
  island,
• 7:14
  they
• 7:14
  won't
• 7:14
  allow
• 7:15
  you
• 7:15
  to
• 7:15
  put
• 7:15
  that
• 7:16
  outlet
• 7:16
  in
• 7:16
  the
• 7:16
  side
• 7:16
  of
• 7:16
  the
• 7:17
  island.
• 7:17
  So
• 7:18
  now
• 7:18
  you
• 7:18
  need
• 7:18
  something
• 7:19
  that's
• 7:19
  going
• 7:19
  to
• 7:19
  pop
• 7:20
  up
• 7:20
  in
• 7:20
  the
• 7:20
  countertop,
• 7:22
  some
• 7:22
  kind
• 7:22
  of
• 7:22
  a
• 7:22
  pop
• 7:22
  up
• 7:23
  that.
• 7:23
  And
• 7:23
  they
• 7:23
  make
• 7:23
  them
• 7:24
  to
• 7:24
  me
• 7:24
  code
• 7:25
  now
• 7:25
  that
• 7:25
  go
• 7:26
  through
• 7:26
  the
• 7:26
  countertop.
• 7:26
  But
• 7:27
  all
• 7:27
  of
• 7:27
  a
• 7:28
  sudden
• 7:28
  you
• 7:28
  were
• 7:28
  forced
• 7:28
  to
• 7:29
  put
• 7:29
  that
• 7:29
  side
• 7:29
  outlet
• 7:29
  in
• 7:30
  and
• 7:30
  you
• 7:30
  as
• 7:30
  a
• 7:30
  homeowner,
• 7:31
  you're
• 7:31
  looking
• 7:31
  at
• 7:31
  it
• 7:31
  going
• 7:31
  oh,
• 7:32
  we'll
• 7:32
  just
• 7:32
  put
• 7:32
  the
• 7:32
  outlet
• 7:32
  in
• 7:32
  the
• 7:33
  side
• 7:33
  of
• 7:33
  the
• 7:33
  island,
• 7:33
  and
• 7:33
  then
• 7:33
  you
• 7:33
  go
• 7:34
  get
• 7:34
  the
• 7:34
  inspection.
• 7:35
  And
• 7:35
  now
• 7:36
  you've
• 7:36
  cut
• 7:36
  a
• 7:36
  hole
• 7:36
  inside
• 7:37
  of
• 7:37
  your
• 7:37
  beautiful
• 7:37
  cabinets
• 7:38
  on
• 7:38
  the
• 7:38
  side
• 7:38
  of
• 7:38
  the
• 7:38
  island.
• 7:39
  And
• 7:39
  the
• 7:39
  inspector
• 7:40
  goes,
• 7:40
  nah,
• 7:40
  that
• 7:41
  was
• 7:41
  good
• 7:41
  two
• 7:41
  years
• 7:41
  ago.
• 7:42
  Not
• 7:42
  good
• 7:42
  now.
• 7:43
  Brutal.
• 7:45
  That.
• 7:45
  I
• 7:45
  did
• 7:45
  not
• 7:45
  know
• 7:46
  they
• 7:46
  changed,
• 7:46
  but,
• 7:46
  yeah,
• 7:47
  that's
• 7:47
  a
• 7:47
  suck
• 7:47
  up.
• 7:48
  Yeah,
• 7:49
  that's
• 7:49
  an
• 7:49
  $800
• 7:50
  cabinet
• 7:50
  you
• 7:50
  got
• 7:51
  to
• 7:51
  rip
• 7:51
  out
• 7:51
  and
• 7:51
  replace.
• 7:53
  Yeah.
• 7:53
  And
• 7:53
  you
• 7:53
  probably
• 7:53
  already
• 7:54
  got
• 7:54
  the
• 7:54
  stone
• 7:54
  on
• 7:54
  it.
• 7:55
  So
• 7:55
  now
• 7:55
  the
• 7:55
  can
• 7:56
  of
• 7:56
  worms
• 7:56
  comes
• 7:56
  in
• 7:57
  to
• 7:58
  do
• 7:58
  that.
• 7:58
  And
• 7:58
  we've
• 7:59
  all
• 7:59
  seen
• 7:59
  it.
• 7:59
  We've
• 7:59
  all
• 7:59
  had
• 8:00
  to
• 8:00
  deal
• 8:00
  with
• 8:00
  it.
• 8:00
  It's
• 8:01
  just
• 8:01
  crazy
• 8:02
  when
• 8:02
  you
• 8:02
  see
• 8:03
  this
• 8:03
  stuff
• 8:03
  because
• 8:04
  again,
• 8:04
  as
• 8:04
  a
• 8:04
  homeowner,
• 8:05
  you're
• 8:05
  just
• 8:05
  going,
• 8:05
  oh,
• 8:06
  man,
• 8:06
  I
• 8:06
  had
• 8:07
  no
• 8:07
  idea.
• 8:08
  If
• 8:08
  you're
• 8:08
  doing
• 8:09
  it
• 8:09
  as
• 8:09
  a
• 8:09
  DIY
• 8:10
  project,
• 8:10
  that's
• 8:10
  my
• 8:11
  first
• 8:11
  tip
• 8:11
  of
• 8:11
  the
• 8:11
  day
• 8:11
  here
• 8:12
  is
• 8:12
  plan
• 8:13
  the
• 8:13
  entire
• 8:13
  house
• 8:14
  project
• 8:14
  out
• 8:15
  from
• 8:15
  start
• 8:15
  to
• 8:16
  finish.
• 8:16
  Because
• 8:17
  if
• 8:17
  you've
• 8:17
  got
• 8:17
  water
• 8:18
  and
• 8:18
  electrical
• 8:18
  or
• 8:18
  even
• 8:19
  H
• 8:19
  vac
• 8:19
  going
• 8:19
  through
• 8:20
  there,
• 8:20
  you
• 8:21
  don't
• 8:21
  have
• 8:21
  to
• 8:21
  tear
• 8:21
  it
• 8:21
  out
• 8:22
  twice.
• 8:22
  And
• 8:23
  then
• 8:23
  I
• 8:23
  think
• 8:23
  the
• 8:23
  second
• 8:24
  one
• 8:24
  and
• 8:24
  I
• 8:24
  want
• 8:24
  to
• 8:24
  get
• 8:24
  your
• 8:25
  take
• 8:25
  on
• 8:25
  this
• 8:25
  is
• 8:26
  so
• 8:26
  many
• 8:26
  people
• 8:27
  don't
• 8:27
  pull
• 8:27
  building
• 8:27
  codes,
• 8:28
  they
• 8:29
  don't
• 8:29
  pull
• 8:29
  permits.
• 8:30
  They're
• 8:30
  not
• 8:30
  looking
• 8:30
  at
• 8:31
  it,
• 8:31
  but
• 8:32
  it
• 8:32
  can
• 8:32
  get
• 8:32
  them
• 8:32
  burned.
• 8:33
  And
• 8:33
  these
• 8:33
  days
• 8:34
  now,
• 8:34
  when
• 8:34
  you're
• 8:34
  seeing
• 8:34
  these
• 8:35
  home
• 8:35
  inspections
• 8:36
  being
• 8:36
  done
• 8:36
  and
• 8:37
  you
• 8:37
  haven't
• 8:37
  pulled
• 8:37
  permits,
• 8:38
  that
• 8:38
  can
• 8:38
  really
• 8:39
  come
• 8:39
  up
• 8:39
  and
• 8:39
  bite
• 8:39
  you
• 8:40
  because
• 8:41
  that
• 8:41
  home
• 8:41
  inspector,
• 8:42
  who
• 8:42
  isn't
• 8:43
  your
• 8:43
  realtor's
• 8:44
  best
• 8:44
  friend,
• 8:45
  shows
• 8:45
  up
• 8:45
  and
• 8:46
  goes,
• 8:46
  yeah,
• 8:47
  this
• 8:47
  kitchen
• 8:48
  looks
• 8:48
  brand
• 8:49
  new,
• 8:50
  but
• 8:50
  none
• 8:50
  of
• 8:50
  it's
• 8:50
  to
• 8:51
  code.
• 8:52
  And
• 8:52
  now
• 8:53
  you're
• 8:53
  in
• 8:53
  the
• 8:53
  middle
• 8:53
  of
• 8:54
  a
• 8:54
  sale.
• 8:54
  Right
• 8:54
  now
• 8:55
  you're
• 8:55
  in
• 8:55
  a
• 8:55
  world
• 8:55
  of
• 8:56
  hurt
• 8:56
  because
• 8:57
  you
• 8:57
  can't
• 8:57
  sit.
• 8:57
  You're
• 8:57
  trying
• 8:58
  to
• 8:58
  sit
• 8:58
  there.
• 8:58
  Oh,
• 8:58
  I
• 8:58
  have
• 8:58
  to
• 8:59
  put
• 8:59
  a
• 8:59
  brand
• 8:59
  new
• 8:59
  kitchen
• 8:59
  in,
• 9:00
  but
• 9:00
  I
• 9:00
  didn't
• 9:01
  pull
• 9:01
  any
• 9:01
  permits
• 9:01
  on
• 9:01
  the
• 9:02
  electrical.
• 9:02
  Kitchen's
• 9:03
  been
• 9:03
  here
• 9:03
  for
• 9:04
  years.
• 9:04
  What
• 9:04
  are
• 9:04
  you
• 9:05
  talking
• 9:05
  about?
• 9:06
  Absolutely.
• 9:07
  Absolutely.
• 9:08
  And
• 9:08
  those
• 9:08
  things
• 9:08
  are
• 9:09
  really
• 9:09
  messy.
• 9:09
  Put
• 9:09
  a
• 9:10
  couple
• 9:10
  of
• 9:10
  scratches
• 9:10
  in

• 9:11
  spill
• 9:12
  some
• 9:12

• 9:12
  somewhere,
• 9:13
  you'd
• 9:13
  be
• 9:13
  fine.
• 9:14
  Call
• 9:14
  it
• 9:15
  good.
• 9:15
  Call
• 9:15

  your

• 9:50
  Today's

• 9:58
  You
• 9:59
  know
• 9:59
  how
• 9:59
  tough
• 9:59
  it
• 10:00
  is

  They

• 10:03
  to

• 10:03
  But
• 10:04
  here's

  an
• 10:04
  easy
• 10:05

  over
• 12:41
  to
• 12:41
  that
• 12:41
  killer
• 12:42
  website
• 12:42
  that
• 12:43
  Dudley
• 12:43
  here
• 12:43
  designed.
• 12:44
  Roundthehouseonline.com.
• 12:47
  if
• 12:47
  you're
• 12:48
  just
• 12:48
  joining
• 12:48
  us.
• 12:48
  We
• 12:48
  got
• 12:49
  my
• 12:49
  buddy
• 12:49
  John
• 12:49
  Dudley
• 12:50
  here,
• 12:50
  contractor
• 12:51
  that
• 12:51
  I've
• 12:51
  known
• 12:51
  for
• 12:51
  years.
• 12:53
  We
• 12:53
  start
• 12:53
  to
• 12:53
  date
• 12:53
  ourselves
• 12:54
  if
• 12:54
  we
• 12:54
  start
• 12:54
  talking
• 12:55
  the
• 12:55
  decades.
• 12:56
  But
• 12:56
  he's
• 12:56
  also
• 12:56
  a
• 12:57
  website
• 12:57
  designer.
• 12:57
  He
• 12:58
  also
• 12:58
  works
• 12:58
  with
• 12:58
  a
• 12:58
  lot
• 12:58
  of
• 12:59
  companies
• 12:59
  out
• 12:59
  there.
• 12:59
  But
• 12:59
  today
• 13:00
  we've
• 13:00
  been
• 13:00
  talking
• 13:00
  about
• 13:01
  really
• 13:02
  just
• 13:02
  trying
• 13:02
  to
• 13:02
  get
• 13:03
  these
• 13:03
  projects
• 13:03
  off
• 13:04
  the
• 13:04
  ground
• 13:05
  and
• 13:05
  finished
• 13:06
  correctly.
• 13:07
  And
• 13:07
  again
• 13:08
  in
• 13:08
  the
• 13:08
  last
• 13:08
  hour,
• 13:08
  we
• 13:09
  were
• 13:09
  talking
• 13:09
  about
• 13:09
  really
• 13:10
  trying
• 13:10
  to
• 13:10
  plan
• 13:10
  these
• 13:10
  things
• 13:11
  out
• 13:11
  and
• 13:11
  plan
• 13:12
  the
• 13:12
  entire
• 13:12
  project.
• 13:13
  But
• 13:14
  Johnny,
• 13:14
  I
• 13:14
  had
• 13:14
  this
• 13:14
  one
• 13:15
  project
• 13:15
  I
• 13:15
  was
• 13:15
  working
• 13:16
  on
• 13:16
  that
• 13:16
  the
• 13:16
  contractor
• 13:17
  did
• 13:18
  everything
• 13:18
  right.
• 13:20
  Had
• 13:20
  a
• 13:20
  set
• 13:20
  of
• 13:20
  plans
• 13:21
  from
• 13:21
  the
• 13:21
  city
• 13:22
  of
• 13:22
  Portland.
• 13:22
  First.
• 13:23
  I
• 13:23
  don't
• 13:23
  believe
• 13:23
  you,
• 13:24
  but
• 13:24
  tell
• 13:24
  me
• 13:24
  about
• 13:24
  it.
• 13:26
  Pulled
• 13:27
  permits
• 13:27
  for
• 13:27
  a
• 13:28
  second
• 13:28
  story
• 13:29
  bathroom
• 13:29
  model
• 13:29
  in
• 13:30
  this
• 13:30
  old
• 13:30
  like
• 13:30
  1920s
• 13:31
  storybook
• 13:32
  Portland
• 13:32
  House.
• 13:33
  They
• 13:33
  had
• 13:33
  old
• 13:34
  plans
• 13:34
  of
• 13:34
  where
• 13:34
  the
• 13:35
  bathrooms
• 13:35
  and
• 13:35
  the
• 13:36
  second
• 13:36
  and
• 13:36
  the
• 13:37
  bedrooms
• 13:37
  up
• 13:37
  there
• 13:37
  had
• 13:37
  been
• 13:37
  added
• 13:38
  on
• 13:39
  stamped
• 13:40
  by
• 13:40
  the
• 13:40
  city
• 13:40
  of
• 13:40
  Portland.
• 13:41
  So,
• 13:42
  okay,
• 13:42
  we
• 13:42
  assumes
• 13:43
  there
• 13:43
  was
• 13:43
  a
• 13:43
  stamp
• 13:44
  on
• 13:44
  the
• 13:44
  plans
• 13:45
  that
• 13:45
  had
• 13:45
  been
• 13:45
  permitted
• 13:46
  at
• 13:46
  the
• 13:46
  time.
• 13:47
  Contractor
• 13:47
  goes
• 13:48
  in,
• 13:48
  I
• 13:48
  got
• 13:48
  it
• 13:48
  designed
• 13:49
  out.
• 13:49
  Cabinets
• 13:49
  are
• 13:49
  ordered,
• 13:50
  they're
• 13:50
  showing
• 13:50
  up
• 13:51
  at
• 13:51
  the
• 13:51
  job
• 13:51
  site.
• 13:52
  Demo
• 13:53
  comes
• 13:53
  in,
• 13:54
  tear
• 13:54
  it
• 13:54
  all
• 13:54
  out.
• 13:55
  They
• 13:55
  pull
• 13:56
  the
• 13:56
  permits,
• 13:56
  of
• 13:56
  course,
• 13:57
  do
• 13:57
  everything
• 13:57
  right.
• 13:58
  Inspector
• 13:59
  walks
• 13:59
  up
• 13:59
  the
• 13:59
  Stairs,
• 14:00
  walks
• 14:00
  into
• 14:00
  the
• 14:00
  bathroom
• 14:01
  for
• 14:01
  the
• 14:01
  rough
• 14:01
  in
• 14:01
  inspection
• 14:02
  and
• 14:02
  goes,
• 14:03
  yeah,
• 14:03
  we
• 14:03
  don't
• 14:04
  have
• 14:04
  any
• 14:04
  record
• 14:04
  of
• 14:04
  the
• 14:05
  second
• 14:05
  story
• 14:05
  addition.
• 14:06
  So
• 14:06
  we
• 14:06
  are
• 14:07
  red
• 14:07
  tagging
• 14:07
  this
• 14:07
  thing.
• 14:08
  And
• 14:08
  the
• 14:08
  whole
• 14:09
  thing
• 14:09
  needs
• 14:09
  to
• 14:09
  be
• 14:09
  brought
• 14:10
  up
• 14:10
  to
• 14:11
  2017,
• 14:12
  2018
• 14:13
  building
• 14:14
  code,
• 14:15
  whatever
• 14:15
  the
• 14:15
  year
• 14:15
  was.
• 14:16
  So
• 14:17
  this
• 14:17
  was
• 14:17
  that
• 14:18
  kind
• 14:18
  of
• 14:18
  1920.
• 14:19
  Yeah.
• 14:19
  For
• 14:20
  the
• 14:20
  entire
• 14:20
  second
• 14:21
  floor.
• 14:22
  Just
• 14:22
  because
• 14:22
  they
• 14:22
  brought
• 14:23
  them
• 14:23
  in
• 14:23
  for
• 14:23
  the
• 14:23
  bathroom.
• 14:23
  Here's
• 14:24
  the
• 14:24
  bad
• 14:24
  part.
• 14:24
  Now
• 14:24
  you
• 14:25
  had
• 14:25
  to
• 14:25
  meet
• 14:25
  all
• 14:25
  the
• 14:26
  sheep
• 14:26
  shot
• 14:27
  footings
• 14:28
  in
• 14:28
  the
• 14:28
  basement.
• 14:29
  So
• 14:30
  this
• 14:30
  had
• 14:30
  been.
• 14:31
  And
• 14:31
  from
• 14:31
  what
• 14:31
  we
• 14:32
  could
• 14:32
  tell,
• 14:32
  but
• 14:33
  we
• 14:33
  couldn't
• 14:33
  prove
• 14:33
  it.
• 14:34
  When
• 14:34
  the
• 14:35
  city
• 14:35
  of
• 14:35
  Portland
• 14:37
  converted
• 14:37
  from
• 14:38
  electronic
• 14:38
  from
• 14:38
  written
• 14:39
  to
• 14:39
  electronic
• 14:40
  building
• 14:40
  permits,
• 14:41
  they
• 14:41
  lost
• 14:42
  seven
• 14:42
  or
• 14:43
  eight
• 14:43
  years
• 14:43
  of
• 14:43
  building
• 14:44
  permit
• 14:44
  records.
• 14:45
  This
• 14:46
  was
• 14:46
  done
• 14:46
  in
• 14:47
  the
• 14:47
  middle
• 14:47
  of
• 14:47
  it.
• 14:48
  Now,
• 14:48
  it
• 14:48
  wasn't
• 14:49
  these
• 14:49
  homeowners
• 14:49
  that
• 14:50
  done
• 14:50
  it.
• 14:50
  They
• 14:50
  had
• 14:50
  bought
• 14:50
  the
• 14:50
  house.
• 14:51
  Wow.
• 14:52
  So
• 14:52
  at
• 14:52
  the
• 14:52
  time,
• 14:53
  that
• 14:53
  added
• 14:54
  $80,000
• 14:56
  to
• 14:56
  the
• 14:56
  bathroom
• 14:57
  remodel.
• 14:57
  Because
• 14:58
  they
• 14:58
  had
• 14:59
  to
• 14:59
  go
• 14:59
  down
• 14:59
  in
• 14:59
  the
• 14:59
  finished
• 15:00
  basement
• 15:01
  and
• 15:01
  there's
• 15:02
  posts
• 15:02
  in
• 15:02
  the
• 15:02
  floor.
• 15:03
  Like
• 15:03
  any
• 15:03
  1920s
• 15:04
  basement.
• 15:05
  They
• 15:05
  now
• 15:05
  had
• 15:06
  to
• 15:06
  make
• 15:06
  those
• 15:07
  like
• 15:07
  30
• 15:07
  inch
• 15:08
  by
• 15:08
  30
• 15:08
  inch
• 15:09
  footings
• 15:09
  that
• 15:09
  were
• 15:10
  almost
• 15:10
  3ft
• 15:10
  in
• 15:11
  the
• 15:11
  ground.
• 15:11
  They
• 15:12
  had
• 15:12
  to
• 15:12
  tear
• 15:12
  all
• 15:13
  this
• 15:13
  stuff
• 15:13
  up
• 15:14
  to
• 15:14
  carry
• 15:14
  the
• 15:14
  load
• 15:14
  all
• 15:15
  the
• 15:15
  way
• 15:15
  back
• 15:15
  up
• 15:15
  through.
• 15:16
  And
• 15:16
  then
• 15:16
  all
• 15:17
  of
• 15:17
  a
• 15:17
  sudden,
• 15:17
  because
• 15:17
  we
• 15:18
  had
• 15:18
  to
• 15:18
  have
• 15:18
  thicker
• 15:19
  floor
• 15:19
  joists,
• 15:19
  because
• 15:20
  guess
• 15:20
  what?
• 15:20
  That
• 15:21
  was
• 15:21
  originally
• 15:21
  framed
• 15:22
  as
• 15:22
  storage.
• 15:23
  But
• 15:23
  they
• 15:23
  didn't
• 15:24
  make
• 15:24
  it,
• 15:24
  didn't
• 15:25
  meet
• 15:25
  building
• 15:25
  code.
• 15:26
  So
• 15:26
  then
• 15:26
  we
• 15:26
  had
• 15:26
  to
• 15:26
  re
• 15:26
  insulate
• 15:27
  the
• 15:27
  whole
• 15:27
  space
• 15:28
  to
• 15:28
  meet
• 15:29
  the
• 15:29
  current
• 15:29
  building
• 15:29
  code.
• 15:31
  It
• 15:31
  was
• 15:31
  a
• 15:31
  gigantic
• 15:32
  can
• 15:33
  of
• 15:33
  worms
• 15:34
  and
• 15:34
  absolutely
• 15:36
  nothing
• 15:36
  was
• 15:36
  grandfathered.
• 15:37
  I
• 15:37
  was
• 15:38
  just
• 15:38
  gonna
• 15:38
  say,
• 15:38
  how
• 15:38
  does
• 15:38
  that
• 15:39
  so
• 15:39
  unfortunately
• 15:40
  fall
• 15:40
  on
• 15:41
  them
• 15:41
  that
• 15:42
  Portland
• 15:42
  lost
• 15:43
  records?
• 15:44
  Nothing
• 15:44
  was
• 15:45
  disclosed
• 15:45
  when
• 15:46
  they
• 15:46
  bought
• 15:46
  the
• 15:46
  place.
• 15:47
  Like
• 15:48
  how
• 15:48
  did
• 15:48
  they
• 15:49
  eat
• 15:49
  the
• 15:49
  ball
• 15:49
  on
• 15:50
  that?
• 15:50
  They
• 15:50
  must
• 15:51
  have
• 15:51
  really
• 15:51
  loved
• 15:52
  the
• 15:52
  house.
• 15:52
  And
• 15:52
  now
• 15:52
  you
• 15:53
  can't
• 15:53
  really
• 15:53
  sell
• 15:53
  a
• 15:53
  damn
• 15:54
  thing
• 15:54
  either
• 15:55
  without
• 15:55
  disclosing
• 15:56
  that.
• 15:56
  Like
• 15:57
  it
• 15:57
  will
• 15:57
  knock
• 15:57
  80k
• 15:58
  off
• 15:58
  the.
• 15:58
  Price
• 15:59
  and
• 15:59
  your
• 16:00
  ear
• 16:00
  upside
• 16:00
  down
• 16:00
  instantly.
• 16:01
  I've
• 16:01
  seen
• 16:01
  that
• 16:01
  happen
• 16:02
  so
• 16:02
  many
• 16:02
  times.
• 16:03
  Yeah.
• 16:04
  It's
• 16:04
  gonna
• 16:04
  take
• 16:04
  more
• 16:05
  than
• 16:05
  a
• 16:05
  bottle
• 16:05
  of
• 16:06
  whiskey
• 16:06
  with
• 16:06
  that
• 16:06
  inspector
• 16:07
  to
• 16:07
  fix
• 16:07
  that
• 16:07
  one.
• 16:08
  So
• 16:08
  that's
• 16:08
  one
• 16:08
  of
• 16:09
  those
• 16:09
  things
• 16:09
  that
• 16:09
  you
• 16:09
  look
• 16:09
  at
• 16:10
  and
• 16:11
  it
• 16:11
  can
• 16:11
  go
• 16:11
  so
• 16:12
  sideways
• 16:12
  so
• 16:12
  quickly.
• 16:13
  And
• 16:13
  the
• 16:13
  homeowners
• 16:13
  were
• 16:14
  doing
• 16:14
  everything
• 16:14
  right.
• 16:15
  Contractor
• 16:15
  was
• 16:16
  doing
• 16:16
  it.
• 16:16
  They
• 16:16
  had
• 16:16
  given
• 16:17
  the
• 16:17
  building
• 16:17
  permit
• 16:18
  for
• 16:18
  the
• 16:18
  bathroom.
• 16:19
  And
• 16:19
  as
• 16:20
  soon
• 16:20
  as
• 16:20
  the
• 16:20
  inspector
• 16:20
  walked
• 16:21
  up
• 16:21
  those
• 16:21
  stairs,
• 16:22
  all
• 16:22
  went
• 16:22
  sideways.
• 16:24
  And
• 16:24
  so
• 16:24
  that's
• 16:25
  something
• 16:25
  you
• 16:25
  see
• 16:25
  a
• 16:25
  lot.
• 16:26
  And
• 16:26
  I
• 16:26
  think
• 16:27
  it's
• 16:27
  something
• 16:27
  with
• 16:27
  your
• 16:27
  out
• 16:28
  purchasing
• 16:29
  your
• 16:29
  first
• 16:29
  home
• 16:30
  or
• 16:30
  purchasing
• 16:30
  your
• 16:31
  second
• 16:31
  home.
• 16:32
  I
• 16:32
  always
• 16:32
  say,
• 16:33
  go
• 16:33
  take
• 16:33
  a
• 16:34
  look
• 16:34
  at
• 16:34
  the
• 16:34
  building
• 16:35
  department
• 16:35
  before
• 16:36
  you
• 16:36
  sign
• 16:37
  and
• 16:37
  put
• 16:37
  the
• 16:37
  Offer
• 16:37
  in
• 16:38
  because
• 16:38
  what
• 16:39
  happens
• 16:39
  is
• 16:39
  that
• 16:40
  house,
• 16:40
  they
• 16:40
  would
• 16:40
  have
• 16:40
  caught
• 16:41
  that
• 16:41
  because
• 16:42
  the
• 16:42
  building
• 16:43
  department
• 16:43
  probably
• 16:43
  would
• 16:44
  have
• 16:44
  said
• 16:44
  it
• 16:44
  was
• 16:44
  a
• 16:44
  1300
• 16:45
  square
• 16:45
  foot
• 16:46
  house.
• 16:47
  But
• 16:47
  the
• 16:47
  house
• 16:47
  is
• 16:47
  being
• 16:48
  sold
• 16:48
  at
• 16:48
  like
• 16:48
  2800
• 16:49
  square
• 16:49
  feet
• 16:51
  and
• 16:51
  the
• 16:51
  building
• 16:51
  department
• 16:51
  is
• 16:52
  the
• 16:52
  ult.
• 16:52
  The
• 16:52
  tax
• 16:53
  man.
• 16:53
  If
• 16:53
  you
• 16:53
  tell
• 16:53
  them
• 16:53
  you
• 16:54
  got
• 16:54
  a
• 16:54
  40,000
• 16:54
  square
• 16:55
  foot
• 16:55
  house,
• 16:55
  they'll
• 16:56
  tax
• 16:56
  you
• 16:56
  for
• 16:56
  it,
• 16:56
  no
• 16:56
  problem.
• 16:57
  Oh,
• 16:57
  cool.
• 16:58
  And
• 16:58
  they'll
• 16:59
  put
• 16:59
  it
• 16:59
  on
• 16:59
  the
• 16:59
  tax
• 16:59
  record
• 16:59
  that
• 17:00
  you
• 17:00
  have
• 17:00
  a
• 17:00
  40,000
• 17:00
  square
• 17:01
  foot
• 17:01
  house
• 17:01
  because
• 17:01
  they
• 17:01
  want
• 17:02
  your
• 17:02
  money.
• 17:02
  Such
• 17:02
  a
• 17:03
  shame.
• 17:03
  But
• 17:03
  the
• 17:03
  building
• 17:03
  department
• 17:04
  is
• 17:04
  the
• 17:04
  only
• 17:05
  real
• 17:05
  one.
• 17:06
  It's
• 17:06
  a
• 17:06
  shame
• 17:06
  no
• 17:07
  one
• 17:07
  catches
• 17:07
  that
• 17:07
  out
• 17:08
  of
• 17:08
  all
• 17:08
  the
• 17:08
  folks
• 17:09
  poking
• 17:09
  around,
• 17:10
  the
• 17:10
  house
• 17:11
  inspector,
• 17:12
  the
• 17:12
  realtor,
• 17:14
  the
• 17:14
  appraiser,
• 17:16
  the
• 17:16
  building
• 17:17
  folks
• 17:17
  are
• 17:17
  the
• 17:17
  ones
• 17:18
  that
• 17:18
  lost
• 17:18
  the
• 17:19
  stuff.
• 17:19
  So
• 17:20
  maybe
• 17:20
  it
• 17:20
  was
• 17:20
  up
• 17:21
  to
• 17:21
  code
• 17:21
  back
• 17:22
  then.
• 17:22
  Which
• 17:23
  means
• 17:23
  it
• 17:23
  still
• 17:24
  would
• 17:24
  be.
• 17:24
  They
• 17:24
  can't
• 17:25
  make
• 17:25
  them
• 17:25
  up
• 17:25
  it
• 17:26
  to
• 17:26
  code
• 17:27
  just
• 17:27
  for
• 17:27
  adding
• 17:27
  a
• 17:27
  bathroom.
• 17:28
  I
• 17:28
  don't
• 17:28
  know,
• 17:28
  man.
• 17:29
  That's.
• 17:30
  Yeah,
• 17:30
  I
• 17:31
  don't
• 17:31
  know.
• 17:31
  So
• 17:31
  they
• 17:31
  did
• 17:32
  it.
• 17:32
  So
• 17:32
  they
• 17:32
  spent
• 17:32
  the
• 17:33
  80k.
• 17:33
  And
• 17:34
  I
• 17:34
  would
• 17:34
  have
• 17:34
  fought
• 17:35
  somebody.
• 17:35
  They
• 17:35
  spent
• 17:36
  the
• 17:36
  80k
• 17:36
  just
• 17:36
  to
• 17:37
  fight.
• 17:37
  At
• 17:37
  least.
• 17:37
  Yeah.
• 17:38
  At
• 17:38
  least
• 17:38
  I
• 17:38
  would
• 17:38
  have
• 17:38
  felt
• 17:38
  better.
• 17:39
  Yeah.
• 17:40
  It's
• 17:40
  just
• 17:40
  a
• 17:41
  good.
• 17:41
  But
• 17:41
  then
• 17:41
  they
• 17:41
  had
• 17:41
  their
• 17:41
  whole
• 17:42
  bathroom.
• 17:42
  They
• 17:42
  had
• 17:42
  the
• 17:42
  whole
• 17:43
  bathroom
• 17:43
  that
• 17:43
  was
• 17:43
  red
• 17:44
  tag.
• 17:44
  So
• 17:44
  they
• 17:44
  had
• 17:44
  their
• 17:45
  whole
• 17:45
  bathroom
• 17:45
  upstairs
• 17:46
  where
• 17:46
  they
• 17:46
  lived
• 17:47
  was
• 17:47
  gutted
• 17:47
  to
• 17:47
  the
• 17:48
  studs.
• 17:49
  And
• 17:49
  I
• 17:49
  think
• 17:49
  that's
• 17:49
  the
• 17:49
  biggest
• 17:50
  thing
• 17:50
  for
• 17:50
  homeowners
• 17:51
  out
• 17:51
  there
• 17:51
  is
• 17:51
  if
• 17:51
  you're
• 17:51
  going
• 17:51
  to
• 17:52
  look
• 17:52
  for
• 17:52
  a
• 17:52
  home.
• 17:53
  Just
• 17:53
  because
• 17:54
  it
• 17:54
  says
• 17:54
  it
• 17:54
  in
• 17:54
  the
• 17:54
  real
• 17:55
  estate
• 17:55
  listing
• 17:55
  doesn't
• 17:56
  mean
• 17:56
  it's
• 17:56
  right.
• 17:56
  Yeah.
• 17:57
  No.
• 17:57
  Do
• 17:58
  the
• 17:58
  diligence.
• 17:59
  Somebody
• 17:59
  there
• 17:59
  looking,
• 18:01
  check
• 18:01
  it
• 18:01
  out.
• 18:01
  Yeah.
• 18:02
  And
• 18:02
  nobody
• 18:02
  knows
• 18:03
  to
• 18:03
  do
• 18:03
  that.
• 18:03
  Heck,
• 18:04
  I
• 18:04
  never
• 18:04
  did
• 18:04
  that.
• 18:05
  No.
• 18:05
  You
• 18:06
  know
• 18:06
  what
• 18:06
  I
• 18:06
  mean?
• 18:07
  No,
• 18:07
  I
• 18:07
  do
• 18:07
  now.
• 18:07
  When
• 18:08
  I
• 18:08
  was
• 18:08
  buying
• 18:08
  property.
• 18:09
  I
• 18:09
  will
• 18:10
  now,
• 18:10
  but
• 18:10
  back
• 18:10
  when
• 18:11
  I
• 18:11
  was
• 18:11
  buying
• 18:11
  property.
• 18:12
  Yeah.
• 18:13
  I
• 18:13
  remember
• 18:13
  once
• 18:13
  out
• 18:13
  of
• 18:13
  county
• 18:14
  to
• 18:14
  check
• 18:14
  the
• 18:14
  real
• 18:14
  square
• 18:15
  foot.
• 18:15
  Maybe
• 18:16
  a
• 18:16
  time
• 18:16
  or
• 18:16
  two.
• 18:18
  But
• 18:18
  I'd
• 18:18
  look
• 18:18
  online
• 18:19
  and
• 18:19
  go
• 18:19
  away.
• 18:19
  It
• 18:19
  was.
• 18:19
  It
• 18:20
  say.
• 18:20
  Yeah,
• 18:20
  I
• 18:21
  guess
• 18:21
  it
• 18:21
  did.
• 18:21
  That
• 18:22
  was
• 18:22
  years
• 18:22
  ago,
• 18:22
  but
• 18:23
  yeah.
• 18:24
  Ah,
• 18:24
  man,
• 18:24
  what
• 18:24
  a
• 18:25
  shame.
• 18:25
  It's
• 18:26
  crazy.
• 18:26
  Yeah,
• 18:27
  it's
• 18:27
  crazy.
• 18:27
  And
• 18:27
  so
• 18:27
  that's
• 18:28
  one
• 18:28
  of
• 18:28
  those
• 18:28
  catch
• 18:28
  22s.
• 18:29
  You
• 18:29
  want
• 18:29
  it.
• 18:29
  And
• 18:30
  where
• 18:30
  I
• 18:30
  see
• 18:30
  it
• 18:30
  the
• 18:30
  most
• 18:31
  are
• 18:31
  like
• 18:31
  those
• 18:31
  1920s.
• 18:33
  Anything
• 18:33
  before,
• 18:34
  like
• 18:34
  1940s,
• 18:35
  it's
• 18:35
  those
• 18:35
  enclosed
• 18:36
  porches,
• 18:37
  it's
• 18:37
  the
• 18:37
  attic
• 18:38
  that
• 18:38
  was
• 18:38
  converted.
• 18:39
  Yeah.
• 18:39
  It
• 18:39
  was
• 18:40
  the
• 18:40
  basement
• 18:40
  that
• 18:40
  was
• 18:41
  finished.
• 18:41
  Yeah.
• 18:42
  That's
• 18:42
  where
• 18:42
  you
• 18:42
  start
• 18:43
  to
• 18:43
  get
• 18:43
  into
• 18:43
  those
• 18:43
  areas.
• 18:44
  And
• 18:44
  there's
• 18:44
  a
• 18:45
  large
• 18:45
  amount
• 18:45
  of
• 18:45
  square
• 18:45
  foot
• 18:46
  footage
• 18:46
  there.
• 18:46
  So
• 18:47
  that's
• 18:47
  where
• 18:47
  it
• 18:47
  gets
• 18:47
  you
• 18:48
  caught
• 18:48
  up.
• 18:48
  And
• 18:49
  it's
• 18:49
  such
• 18:49
  a
• 18:49
  shame.
• 18:50
  And
• 18:50
  you
• 18:50
  get
• 18:50
  caught
• 18:51
  with
• 18:51
  that,
• 18:51
  you're
• 18:52
  in
• 18:52
  trouble.
• 18:52
  And
• 18:52
  now
• 18:53
  we're
• 18:53
  seeing
• 18:53
  this
• 18:53
  here,
• 18:54
  which
• 18:54
  is
• 18:54
  crazy.
• 18:55
  For
• 18:55
  instance,
• 18:56
  you're
• 18:56
  seeing
• 18:56
  insurance
• 18:57
  companies
• 18:57
  now
• 18:58
  out
• 18:58
  there
• 18:59
  and
• 18:59
  building
• 18:59
  departments
• 19:00
  as
• 19:00
  well,
• 19:01
  using
• 19:01
  satellite
• 19:02
  or
• 19:02
  drone
• 19:03
  technology,
• 19:03
  hunting
• 19:04
  these
• 19:04
  things
• 19:04
  down.
• 19:04
  So
• 19:04
  technically,
• 19:05
  if
• 19:05
  you
• 19:05
  built.
• 19:06
  That's
• 19:06
  sick.
• 19:07
  Yep.
• 19:07
  So
• 19:08
  if
• 19:08
  you
• 19:08
  build
• 19:08
  too
• 19:08
  big
• 19:09
  of
• 19:09
  a
• 19:09
  deck
• 19:09
  or
• 19:09
  you
• 19:09
  build
• 19:10
  a
• 19:10
  storage
• 19:10
  shed
• 19:10
  in
• 19:11
  your
• 19:11
  backyard
• 19:11
  that's
• 19:12
  too
• 19:12
  big,
• 19:13
  technically
• 19:14
  your
• 19:14
  building
• 19:14
  department
• 19:15
  can
• 19:15
  go,
• 19:15
  hey,
• 19:16
  man,
• 19:17
  what's
• 19:17
  that
• 19:17
  building
• 19:17
  out
• 19:18
  back
• 19:18
  that
• 19:18
  just
• 19:18
  showed
• 19:19
  up
• 19:19
  on
• 19:19
  the
• 19:19
  scan?
• 19:20
  Because
• 19:20
  those
• 19:21
  satellites
• 19:21
  are
• 19:21
  going
• 19:21
  overhead,
• 19:22
  you're.
• 19:22
  Going
• 19:22
  to
• 19:22
  get
• 19:23
  on
• 19:24
  it.
• 19:25
  It's
• 19:25
  crazy
• 19:25
  that.
• 19:26
  It's
• 19:26
  crazy
• 19:27
  because
• 19:27
  we
• 19:27
  don't
• 19:27
  have
• 19:28
  better
• 19:28
  things
• 19:28
  to
• 19:28
  do
• 19:29
  than
• 19:29
  scan
• 19:30
  people's
• 19:30
  patios.
• 19:31
  Absolutely.
• 19:32
  It's
• 19:32
  what
• 19:33
  happens.
• 19:33
  And
• 19:33
  so
• 19:34
  again,
• 19:35
  we
• 19:35
  can
• 19:35
  say
• 19:35
  privacy,
• 19:36
  all
• 19:36
  those
• 19:36
  kind
• 19:37
  of
• 19:37
  things,
• 19:37
  but
• 19:37
  really
• 19:38
  they're
• 19:38
  going
• 19:38
  after
• 19:38
  that.
• 19:39
  I've
• 19:39
  had
• 19:39
  buddies
• 19:40
  that
• 19:40
  were
• 19:40
  doing
• 19:40
  just
• 19:40
  doing
• 19:40
  a
• 19:41
  window
• 19:41
  change
• 19:41
  out
• 19:42
  and
• 19:42
  the
• 19:43
  neighbor
• 19:43
  called
• 19:43
  the
• 19:43
  complaint,
• 19:44
  or
• 19:44
  the
• 19:44
  building
• 19:44
  inspector
• 19:46
  is
• 19:46
  driving
• 19:46
  by
• 19:46
  to
• 19:47
  another
• 19:47
  project
• 19:48
  and
• 19:48
  hey,
• 19:49
  what
• 19:49
  you
• 19:49
  doing
• 19:49
  there?
• 19:50
  It's
• 19:51
  insane.
• 19:51
  It's
• 19:51
  crazy.
• 19:52
  And
• 19:52
  I
• 19:52
  got
• 19:53
  a
• 19:53
  funny
• 19:53
  one
• 19:53
  that.
• 19:54
  That
• 19:54
  should
• 19:55
  be
• 19:55
  legal
• 19:56
  in
• 19:56
  my
• 19:56
  opinion.
• 19:57
  If
• 19:57
  you're
• 19:57
  a
• 19:58
  building
• 19:58
  inspector,
• 19:58
  you
• 19:59
  got
• 19:59
  your
• 19:59
  assignment.
• 19:59
  You
• 20:00
  don't
• 20:00
  just
• 20:00
  get
• 20:00
  to
• 20:00
  pull
• 20:01
  into
• 20:01
  any
• 20:01
  driveway
• 20:02
  and
• 20:02
  start
• 20:02
  pissing
• 20:03
  on
• 20:03
  people.
• 20:03
  Go
• 20:04
  away.
• 20:04
  Go
• 20:04
  do
• 20:05
  your
• 20:05
  job
• 20:05
  that
• 20:05
  you're
• 20:06
  assigned
• 20:06
  to.
• 20:07
  You
• 20:07
  know,
• 20:08
  you're
• 20:08
  not
• 20:08
  the
• 20:08
  police
• 20:10
  in
• 20:10
  a
• 20:10
  way,
• 20:10
  but
• 20:10
  even
• 20:11
  the
• 20:11
  police
• 20:11
  have
• 20:12
  their
• 20:12
  regions.
• 20:13
  Let's
• 20:13
  pull
• 20:14
  up
• 20:14
  because
• 20:14
  I'm
• 20:14
  painting
• 20:15
  my
• 20:15
  house
• 20:15
  and
• 20:15
  ask
• 20:15
  me
• 20:15
  if
• 20:16
  I'm
• 20:16
  using
• 20:16
  lead.
• 20:16
  Okay.
• 20:17
  When
• 20:17
  we
• 20:17
  come
• 20:17
  back,
• 20:17
  I
• 20:18
  got
• 20:18
  a
• 20:18
  story
• 20:18
  for
• 20:18
  you.
• 20:19
  And
• 20:19
  this
• 20:19
  was
• 20:19
  a
• 20:19
  crazy
• 20:20
  one.
• 20:20
  And
• 20:20
  this
• 20:20
  was
• 20:20
  the
• 20:21
  building
• 20:21
  department
• 20:21
  trying
• 20:22
  to
• 20:22
  go
• 20:22
  after
• 20:22
  me
• 20:23
  here
• 20:23
  a
• 20:23
  few
• 20:23
  months
• 20:24
  ago.
• 20:24
  Or
• 20:25
  they
• 20:25
  were
• 20:25
  poking
• 20:25
  around
• 20:26
  asking
• 20:26
  some
• 20:26
  questions.
• 20:27
  And
• 20:27
  this
• 20:27
  is
• 20:27
  quite
• 20:27
  the
• 20:27
  story.
• 20:28
  We'll
• 20:28
  talk
• 20:28
  about
• 20:28
  that
• 20:29
  just
• 20:29
  as
• 20:29
  soon
• 20:30
  as
• 20:30
  around
• 20:30
  the
• 20:30
  House
• 20:31
  returns.
• 20:32
  Do
• 20:32
  you
• 20:32
  want
• 20:32
  to
• 20:32
  find
• 20:32
  out
• 20:33
  more
• 20:33
  about
• 20:33
  the
• 20:33
  around
• 20:34
  the
• 20:34
  House
• 20:34
  show?
• 20:35
  Head
• 20:35
  to
• 20:35
  our
• 20:36

• 20:36
  that

  Dudley
• 20:37
  designed
• 20:37
  for
• 20:37
  us@aroundthehouseonline.com.
• 20:40
  heck,
• 20:40
  this
• 20:41
  is
• 20:41
  even
• 20:41
  his
• 20:41
  song
• 20:42
  he
• 20:42
  wrote.
• 20:43
  Around
• 20:43
  the
• 20:43
  House
• 20:43
  will
• 20:44
  be
• 20:44
  right
• 20:44
  back.
• 22:24
  Welcome
• 22:24
  back
• 22:24
  to
• 22:24
  the
• 22:24
  around
• 22:25
  the
• 22:25
  House
• 22:25
  show,
• 22:25
  the
• 22:25
  next
• 22:25
  generation
• 22:26
  of
• 22:26

• 22:26

• 22:27
  I'm
• 22:27
  Eric
• 22:27
  G.
• 22:28
  Thanks
• 22:28
  for
• 22:28
  joining
• 22:29
  me
• 22:29
  today.
• 22:29
  Hey,
• 22:30
  make
• 22:30
  sure
• 22:30
  you
• 22:30
  follow
• 22:30
  us
• 22:31
  on
• 22:31
  YouTube.
• 22:31
  If
• 22:31
  you're
• 22:32
  looking
• 22:32
  for
• 22:32
  videos
• 22:32
  and
• 22:32
  some
• 22:33
  fun
• 22:33
  stuff
• 22:33
  out
• 22:33
  there,
• 22:34
  you
• 22:34
  can
• 22:34
  always
• 22:34
  find
• 22:35
  it.
• 22:35
  Head
• 22:35
  over
• 22:35
  to
• 22:35
  aroundthehouse
• 22:36
  online.com
• 22:37
  you
• 22:38
  can
• 22:38
  find
• 22:38
  it
• 22:38
  there.
• 22:38
  Just
• 22:38
  when
• 22:39
  you're
• 22:39
  over
• 22:39
  in
• 22:39
  YouTube,
• 22:39
  just
• 22:39
  look
• 22:40
  at
• 22:40
  around
• 22:41
  the
• 22:41
  House,
• 22:41
  Eric
• 22:41
  G.
• 22:42
  And
• 22:42
  you'll
• 22:42
  find
• 22:42
  it
• 22:42
  right
• 22:43
  there.
• 22:43
  Because
• 22:43
  we've
• 22:43
  been
• 22:43
  putting
• 22:44
  some
• 22:44
  great
• 22:44
  Stuff
• 22:44
  up
• 22:44
  over
• 22:45
  there.
• 22:45
  Johnny
• 22:46
  and
• 22:46
  I
• 22:46
  have
• 22:46
  been
• 22:46
  having
• 22:46
  some
• 22:46
  fun
• 22:46
  here.
• 22:47
  Talking.
• 22:48
  Yes.
• 22:48
  Special
• 22:48
  note.
• 22:49
  Special
• 22:49
  note.
• 22:50
  On
• 22:50
  that
• 22:50
  note,
• 22:51
  they
• 22:52
  should
• 22:52
  check
• 22:52
  out
• 22:52
  the
• 22:53
  YouTube
• 22:53
  shorts
• 22:55
  every
• 22:55
  day
• 22:55
  this
• 22:55
  month
• 22:56
  because
• 22:58
  September
• 22:58
  2nd.
• 22:59
  But
• 23:00
  there
• 23:00
  will
• 23:00
  be
• 23:00
  a
• 23:01
  special
• 23:01
  surprise
• 23:02
  one
• 23:02
  day
• 23:03
  this
• 23:03
  month.
• 23:03
  Can't
• 23:04
  tell
• 23:04
  you
• 23:04
  the
• 23:04
  day.
• 23:05
  Might
• 23:05
  be
• 23:05
  the
• 23:05
  23rd,
• 23:07
  but
• 23:07
  can't
• 23:08
  tell
• 23:08
  you
• 23:08
  the
• 23:08
  day.
• 23:09
  And
• 23:09
  we
• 23:09
  will
• 23:09
  make
• 23:10
  Eric
• 23:10
  do
• 23:10
  a
• 23:10
  little
• 23:10
  dance
• 23:11
  for
• 23:11
  you
• 23:11
  while
• 23:11
  he
• 23:12
  gives
• 23:12
  you
• 23:12
  the
• 23:12
  tip
• 23:12
  of
• 23:12
  the
• 23:12
  day.
• 23:13
  And
• 23:14
  if
• 23:14
  you
• 23:15
  ain't
• 23:15
  seen
• 23:15
  Eric
• 23:15
  dance,
• 23:17
  you
• 23:17
  don't
• 23:17
  know
• 23:17
  what
• 23:17
  dancing
• 23:18
  is.
• 23:19
  Tune
• 23:19
  in
• 23:19
  daily.
• 23:20
  Could
• 23:20
  be
• 23:21
  the
• 23:21
  13th,
• 23:21
  could
• 23:22
  be
• 23:22
  the
• 23:22
  23rd,
• 23:23
  I
• 23:23
  don't
• 23:23
  know.
• 23:23
  But
• 23:23
  there
• 23:24
  will
• 23:24
  be
• 23:24
  a
• 23:24
  dancing
• 23:25
  Eric.
• 23:25
  Oh,
• 23:26
  man,
• 23:26
  that's
• 23:27
  not
• 23:27
  a
• 23:27
  good
• 23:27
  site.
• 23:29
  Oh,
• 23:29
  man,
• 23:30
  that's
• 23:30
  only
• 23:31
  because
• 23:31
  I
• 23:31
  love
• 23:31
  you,
• 23:31
  brother.
• 23:32
  This
• 23:32
  is
• 23:32
  one
• 23:32
  of
• 23:32
  those
• 23:32
  things.
• 23:33
  I'm
• 23:33
  better
• 23:34
  playing
• 23:34
  the
• 23:34
  bass
• 23:34
  than
• 23:34
  I
• 23:35
  am
• 23:35
  dancing,
• 23:35
  and
• 23:35
  I'm
• 23:35
  not
• 23:35
  that
• 23:36
  great
• 23:36
  a
• 23:36
  bass
• 23:36
  player.
• 23:36
  So
• 23:37
  there
• 23:37
  we
• 23:37
  go.
• 23:38
  We've
• 23:38
  been
• 23:38
  talking
• 23:38
  about
• 23:39
  planning
• 23:39
  on
• 23:39
  those
• 23:39
  projects
• 23:40
  and
• 23:40
  making
• 23:40
  sure
• 23:41
  you
• 23:41
  get
• 23:41
  them
• 23:41
  from
• 23:41
  start
• 23:41
  to
• 23:42
  finish
• 23:42
  and
• 23:42
  some
• 23:42
  of
• 23:43
  the
• 23:43
  things
• 23:43
  that
• 23:43
  can
• 23:43
  go
• 23:43
  sideways.
• 23:44
  And
• 23:45
  this
• 23:45
  was
• 23:45
  one
• 23:46
  that
• 23:46
  was
• 23:46
  interesting.
• 23:46
  I
• 23:47
  was
• 23:47
  sitting
• 23:47
  there.
• 23:48
  We
• 23:48
  had
• 23:48
  from
• 23:48
  my
• 23:49
  TV
• 23:49
  show
• 23:49
  when
• 23:49
  it
• 23:49
  was
• 23:49
  over
• 23:49
  on
• 23:50
  Fox
• 23:50
  12
• 23:50
  plus
• 23:50
  over
• 23:51
  there
• 23:51
  here
• 23:51
  in
• 23:51
  Portland,
• 23:52
  we
• 23:52
  had
• 23:52
  our
• 23:53
  Trailblazers
• 23:54
  night,
• 23:54
  where
• 23:54
  the
• 23:54
  TV
• 23:54
  station
• 23:55
  got
• 23:55
  a
• 23:56
  bunch
• 23:56
  of
• 23:56
  the
• 23:56
  advertisers
• 23:57
  or
• 23:57
  potential
• 23:57
  advertisers,
• 23:58
  and
• 23:58
  we
• 23:58
  got
• 23:59
  to
• 23:59
  spend
• 23:59
  time
• 23:59
  in
• 24:00
  the
• 24:00
  suite
• 24:00
  and
• 24:00
  watch
• 24:00
  Trailblazers
• 24:01
  game.
• 24:01
  I
• 24:02
  quit
• 24:02
  really
• 24:02
  watching
• 24:03
  basketball
• 24:03
  when
• 24:04
  the
• 24:04
  NBA
• 24:04
  stole
• 24:04
  my
• 24:04
  Sonics
• 24:05
  away.
• 24:05
  But
• 24:05
  I'll
• 24:06
  show
• 24:06
  up
• 24:06
  for
• 24:06
  work.
• 24:07
  So
• 24:08
  show
• 24:08
  up
• 24:08
  for
• 24:08
  work.
• 24:09
  And
• 24:09
  I'm
• 24:09
  like,
• 24:09
  hey,
• 24:10
  not
• 24:10
  supporting
• 24:10
  you
• 24:10
  until
• 24:10
  you
• 24:11
  fix
• 24:11
  that
• 24:11
  problem.
• 24:12
  Not
• 24:12
  gonna
• 24:13
  get
• 24:13
  off
• 24:13
  on
• 24:13
  that
• 24:13
  tangent.
• 24:14
  But
• 24:15
  I
• 24:15
  show
• 24:15
  up
• 24:15
  and
• 24:15
  this
• 24:16
  guy
• 24:16
  shakes
• 24:16
  my
• 24:16
  hand.
• 24:17
  Hey,
• 24:17
  Eric,
• 24:17
  love
• 24:18
  your
• 24:18
  stuff.
• 24:18
  Love,
• 24:19
  love.
• 24:19
  What's
• 24:19
  going
• 24:20
  on.
• 24:20
  This
• 24:20
  is
• 24:21
  great.
• 24:22
  And
• 24:22
  then
• 24:22
  starts
• 24:23
  poking
• 24:23
  at
• 24:23
  questions
• 24:25
  like,
• 24:25
  hey,
• 24:25
  man,
• 24:26
  I
• 24:26
  love
• 24:26
  what
• 24:26
  you're
• 24:26
  doing.
• 24:26
  It's.
• 24:27
  Oh,
• 24:27
  it's
• 24:27
  really
• 24:27
  good
• 24:28
  work.
• 24:28
  And
• 24:28
  so
• 24:28
  where.
• 24:29
  What.
• 24:29
  Where.
• 24:30
  What
• 24:30
  part
• 24:30
  of
• 24:30
  town
• 24:30
  are
• 24:31
  you
• 24:31
  doing
• 24:31
  these
• 24:31
  projects
• 24:32
  in?
• 24:32
  Where
• 24:33
  you
• 24:33
  at?
• 24:33
  What's
• 24:34
  going
• 24:34
  on
• 24:35
  over
• 24:36
  my
• 24:36
  house?
• 24:36
  Yeah,
• 24:37
  okay.
• 24:37
  Where
• 24:37
  is
• 24:37
  that?
• 24:39
  And
• 24:39
  he's
• 24:39
  poking.
• 24:40
  You're
• 24:40
  like,
• 24:40
  okay,
• 24:41
  my
• 24:41
  radar's
• 24:42
  up.
• 24:42
  Going,
• 24:42
  all
• 24:43
  right,
• 24:43
  what's
• 24:43
  going
• 24:44
  on
• 24:44
  here?
• 24:44
  Portland?
• 24:45
  I
• 24:45
  said,
• 24:46
  hey,
• 24:46
  my
• 24:46
  house
• 24:46
  in
• 24:46
  Lake
• 24:47
  Oswego.
• 24:47
  He
• 24:48
  goes,
• 24:48
  oh,
• 24:48
  okay.
• 24:49
  And
• 24:50
  I'm
• 24:50
  not
• 24:50
  gonna
• 24:50
  say
• 24:50
  the
• 24:50
  guy's
• 24:51
  name,
• 24:51
  but
• 24:51
  he
• 24:51
  went,
• 24:52
  hi,
• 24:52
  I'm
• 24:53
  X
• 24:54
  city
• 24:54
  of
• 24:54
  Portland
• 24:55
  building
• 24:55
  department.
• 24:56
  And
• 24:56
  I'm
• 24:56
  like,
• 24:57
  oh,
• 24:58
  you
• 24:58
  were
• 24:59
  trying
• 24:59
  to
• 24:59
  come
• 24:59
  in
• 24:59
  and
• 25:00
  trying
• 25:01
  to
• 25:01
  come
• 25:01
  in
• 25:01
  and
• 25:01
  do
• 25:02
  that.
• 25:02
  So
• 25:03
  I
• 25:03
  was
• 25:03
  just
• 25:04
  absolutely
• 25:05
  laughing,
• 25:06
  going,
• 25:06
  oh,
• 25:07
  you
• 25:07
  were
• 25:07
  poking
• 25:08
  the
• 25:08
  bear
• 25:08
  there
• 25:08
  a
• 25:08
  little
• 25:09
  bit.
• 25:10
  Trying
• 25:10
  to
• 25:10
  see
• 25:10
  what
• 25:10
  was
• 25:11
  going
• 25:11
  on.
• 25:11
  So
• 25:12
  I
• 25:12
  was
• 25:12
  just
• 25:12
  kind
• 25:13
  of
• 25:13
  like,
• 25:13
  you
• 25:13
  kidding
• 25:13
  me?
• 25:15
  Wow,
• 25:15
  that's
• 25:16
  a
• 25:16
  full
• 25:16
  shot.
• 25:17
  And
• 25:17
  I
• 25:17
  was
• 25:17
  like,
• 25:17
  hey,
• 25:18
  now,
• 25:18
  you
• 25:19
  know,
• 25:19
  I
• 25:20
  have
• 25:20
  really
• 25:20
  planned
• 25:21
  out
• 25:21
  like
• 25:21
  when
• 25:21
  I
• 25:21
  built
• 25:22
  my
• 25:22
  shed
• 25:22
  in
• 25:22
  the
• 25:22
  back
• 25:23
  here
• 25:23
  in
• 25:23
  my
• 25:23
  area.
• 25:23
  Local
• 25:24
  building
• 25:24
  code
• 25:25
  says
• 25:25
  as
• 25:25
  long
• 25:25
  as
• 25:25
  you're
• 25:26
  under
• 25:26
  a
• 25:26
  certain
• 25:27
  square
• 25:27
  footage,
• 25:28
  you
• 25:28
  can
• 25:29
  build
• 25:29
  it.
• 25:29
  I
• 25:30
  can
• 25:30
  build
• 25:30
  a
• 25:31
  patio
• 25:31
  cover
• 25:31
  as
• 25:32
  long
• 25:32
  as
• 25:32
  it's
• 25:32
  under
• 25:33
  200
• 25:33
  square
• 25:34
  feet.
• 25:35
  So
• 25:35
  I
• 25:35
  built
• 25:35
  it
• 25:35
  at
• 25:35
  199,
• 25:36
  tried
• 25:37
  to
• 25:37
  get
• 25:37
  away
• 25:37
  with
• 25:37
  the
• 25:38
  stuff,
• 25:38
  flying
• 25:39
  under
• 25:39
  the
• 25:39
  radar,
• 25:39
  following
• 25:40
  the
• 25:40
  rules,
• 25:41
  but
• 25:41
  still,
• 25:41
  it's
• 25:42
  one
• 25:42
  of
• 25:42
  those
• 25:42
  things
• 25:42
  I
• 25:43
  was
• 25:43
  like,
• 25:43
  oh
• 25:43
  man,
• 25:44
  he
• 25:44
  was
• 25:45
  poking
• 25:45
  around.
• 25:45
  And
• 25:46
  that's
• 25:46
  the
• 25:46
  thing
• 25:46
  you
• 25:46
  got
• 25:46
  to
• 25:47
  be
• 25:47
  careful
• 25:47
  with.
• 25:47
  All
• 25:47
  it
• 25:47
  takes
• 25:48
  is
• 25:48
  if
• 25:48
  you're
• 25:48
  the
• 25:48
  guy
• 25:49
  going
• 25:50
  or
• 25:50
  the
• 25:50
  girl
• 25:50
  going,
• 25:50
  I'm
• 25:51
  not
• 25:51
  going
• 25:51
  to
• 25:51
  sit
• 25:51
  there,
• 25:52
  pull
• 25:52
  permits,
• 25:52
  I'll
• 25:53
  be
• 25:53
  fine.
• 25:54
  All
• 25:54
  it
• 25:54
  takes
• 25:54
  is
• 25:55
  the
• 25:55
  guy
• 25:55
  for
• 25:55
  popping
• 25:56
  over
• 25:56
  next
• 25:56
  door
• 25:57
  to
• 25:57
  your
• 25:57
  house
• 25:57
  and
• 25:57
  drive
• 25:57
  by
• 25:58
  and
• 25:58
  go,
• 25:58
  hey,
• 25:58
  what
• 25:58
  you
• 25:58
  got
• 25:58
  going
• 25:59
  on?
• 26:00
  And
• 26:00
  there
• 26:00
  you
• 26:00
  go,
• 26:01
  there
• 26:01
  you
• 26:01
  go.
• 26:02
  The
• 26:02
  old
• 26:03
  same
• 26:03
  brother.
• 26:04
  You
• 26:04
  never
• 26:04
  know
• 26:05
  who's
• 26:05
  in
• 26:05
  the
• 26:05
  crowd.
• 26:06
  Very
• 26:06
  true,
• 26:07
  very
• 26:07
  true.
• 26:09
  That's
• 26:09
  a
• 26:09
  good
• 26:09
  one.
• 26:09
  Think
• 26:10
  about
• 26:10
  it.
• 26:10
  I
• 26:10
  mean
• 26:10
  it's.
• 26:10
  Oh
• 26:11
  man.
• 26:11
  And
• 26:11
  again,
• 26:11
  all
• 26:12
  it
• 26:12
  takes
• 26:12
  is
• 26:12
  the
• 26:12
  neighbor.
• 26:13
  Like
• 26:13
  in
• 26:13
  my
• 26:14
  neighborhood
• 26:14
  right
• 26:14
  now,
• 26:14
  I
• 26:15
  got
• 26:15
  three
• 26:15
  big
• 26:16
  two
• 26:16
  million
• 26:17
  dollar
• 26:17
  homes
• 26:17
  getting
• 26:18
  built
• 26:18
  right
• 26:18
  now,
• 26:19
  that
• 26:19
  building
• 26:19
  department
• 26:20
  is
• 26:20
  driving
• 26:20
  past
• 26:21
  the
• 26:21
  front
• 26:21
  of
• 26:21
  my
• 26:21
  house
• 26:22
  every
• 26:23
  single
• 26:24
  day,
• 26:24
  multiple
• 26:25
  times.
• 26:26
  So
• 26:27
  you
• 26:27
  look
• 26:27
  at
• 26:27
  that
• 26:28
  and
• 26:28
  go,
• 26:28
  man,
• 26:28
  it's
• 26:28
  not
• 26:29
  worth
• 26:29
  the
• 26:29
  risk.
• 26:29
  Pull
• 26:30
  the
• 26:30
  permits
• 26:30
  on
• 26:30
  it.
• 26:31
  I
• 26:31
  think
• 26:31
  it's
• 26:31
  good
• 26:31
  anyway
• 26:32
  just
• 26:32
  to
• 26:32
  have
• 26:32
  it
• 26:32
  because
• 26:33
  it
• 26:33
  defers
• 26:33
  liability.
• 26:35
  You
• 26:35
  know,
• 26:35
  if
• 26:35
  you
• 26:35
  go
• 26:35
  to
• 26:35
  sell
• 26:36
  the
• 26:36
  house
• 26:36
  and
• 26:36
  the
• 26:36
  house
• 26:37
  burns
• 26:37
  down
• 26:37
  and
• 26:38
  you
• 26:38
  did
• 26:39
  something
• 26:39
  that
• 26:39
  wasn't
• 26:40
  legal
• 26:40
  and
• 26:41
  they
• 26:41
  can
• 26:41
  come
• 26:41
  back
• 26:41
  and
• 26:42
  hit
• 26:42
  you
• 26:42
  with
• 26:42
  it.
• 26:42
  Because
• 26:43
  by
• 26:43
  the
• 26:43
  way,
• 26:44
  guys,
• 26:44
  just
• 26:44
  so
• 26:44
  you
• 26:44
  know,
• 26:44
  Romex
• 26:45
  and
• 26:45
  all
• 26:45
  the
• 26:45
  wires
• 26:47
  that
• 26:47
  was
• 26:47
  made
• 26:48
  stamped
• 26:48
  on
• 26:48
  it,
• 26:49
  you
• 26:49
  can
• 26:50
  get
• 26:50
  it
• 26:50
  back
• 26:50
  there.
• 26:51
  And
• 26:51
  there
• 26:52
  was
• 26:52
  a
• 26:52
  project
• 26:52
  that
• 26:52
  was.
• 26:53
  Yeah,
• 26:54
  always
• 26:54
  better
• 26:55
  to
• 26:55
  have
• 26:55
  a
• 26:55
  great
• 26:55
  example.
• 26:56
  There
• 26:56
  was
• 26:56
  a
• 26:57
  project
• 26:57
  that
• 26:57
  you
• 26:57
  were
• 26:58
  starting
• 26:58
  on.
• 26:58
  Probably
• 26:59
  don't
• 26:59
  even
• 26:59
  remember
• 26:59
  because
• 27:00
  it
• 27:00
  was
• 27:00
  probably
• 27:00
  20
• 27:01
  years
• 27:01
  ago,
• 27:02
  but
• 27:02
  it
• 27:02
  was
• 27:02
  a
• 27:02
  Tacoma
• 27:03
  house.
• 27:03
  These
• 27:03
  guys
• 27:04
  were
• 27:04
  trying
• 27:04
  to
• 27:04
  DIY
• 27:05
  it,
• 27:05
  but
• 27:05
  they
• 27:05
  were
• 27:05
  putting
• 27:06
  cabinets
• 27:06
  and
• 27:06
  stuff
• 27:07
  in.
• 27:07
  And
• 27:08
  it
• 27:08
  was
• 27:08
  like
• 27:08
  an
• 27:08
  1890s
• 27:09
  house
• 27:09
  in
• 27:09
  Tacoma
• 27:11
  and
• 27:12
  had
• 27:12
  a
• 27:12
  crawl
• 27:12
  space
• 27:13
  underneath
• 27:13
  it
• 27:13
  that
• 27:13
  was
• 27:13
  open
• 27:14
  in
• 27:14
  the.
• 27:14
  My
• 27:14
  house.
• 27:15
  Yeah,
• 27:15
  it
• 27:15
  had
• 27:15
  a
• 27:16
  crawl
• 27:16
  space,
• 27:16
  fire
• 27:17
  electrical
• 27:18
  or
• 27:18
  something
• 27:18
  down
• 27:18
  there.
• 27:19
  And
• 27:19
  the
• 27:19
  guy
• 27:20
  started
• 27:20
  sanding
• 27:20
  his
• 27:21
  own
• 27:21
  hardwood
• 27:21
  floors.
• 27:22
  And
• 27:22
  he
• 27:22
  sanded
• 27:23
  through
• 27:23
  and
• 27:23
  is
• 27:23
  getting
• 27:24
  into
• 27:24
  the
• 27:24
  soot
• 27:25
  on
• 27:25
  the
• 27:25
  backside.
• 27:26
  And
• 27:27
  so
• 27:27
  it
• 27:27
  had
• 27:28
  burned
• 27:28
  all
• 27:29
  the
• 27:29
  subfloor
• 27:30
  out
• 27:30
  and
• 27:31
  it
• 27:31
  was
• 27:31
  just
• 27:31
  left
• 27:32
  to
• 27:32
  the
• 27:32
  oak.
• 27:34
  And
• 27:34
  so
• 27:35
  they
• 27:35
  started
• 27:35
  getting
• 27:35
  into
• 27:36
  it,
• 27:36
  and
• 27:36
  they
• 27:36
  went
• 27:36
  downstairs,
• 27:37
  and
• 27:37
  the
• 27:37
  guy
• 27:38
  that
• 27:38
  had
• 27:38
  owned
• 27:38
  it,
• 27:38
  that
• 27:39
  was
• 27:39
  an
• 27:39
  electrician
• 27:39
  beforehand,
• 27:41
  had
• 27:41
  covered
• 27:42
  it
• 27:42
  up
• 27:42
  with
• 27:42
  drywall
• 27:43
  down
• 27:43
  in
• 27:43
  the
• 27:43
  crawl
• 27:44
  space
• 27:44
  under
• 27:44
  the
• 27:44
  kitchen.
• 27:45
  We.
• 27:45
  We
• 27:45
  never
• 27:45
  knew
• 27:46
  why
• 27:46
  they
• 27:47
  covered
• 27:47
  up
• 27:47
  the
• 27:47
  fire
• 27:47
  damage,
• 27:48
  didn't
• 27:48
  repair.
• 27:48
  But
• 27:49
  how
• 27:49
  did
• 27:50
  they
• 27:50
  catch
• 27:50
  it
• 27:50
  Was
• 27:50
  the
• 27:51
  previous
• 27:51
  homeowner,
• 27:52
  because
• 27:52
  the
• 27:52
  guy
• 27:52
  had
• 27:52
  rewired
• 27:53
  it
• 27:53
  and
• 27:53
  drilled
• 27:54
  through
• 27:54
  all
• 27:54
  the
• 27:54
  floor
• 27:55
  joists
• 27:55
  to
• 27:55
  put
• 27:55
  the
• 27:56
  wiring
• 27:56
  in.
• 27:57
  So
• 27:57
  he
• 27:57
  knew
• 27:58
  it
• 27:58
  because
• 27:58
  he
• 27:59
  had
• 28:00
  put
• 28:00
  the
• 28:00
  wires
• 28:00
  in,
• 28:01
  and
• 28:01
  the
• 28:01
  wires
• 28:02
  had
• 28:02
  the
• 28:02
  date
• 28:02
  code
• 28:03
  on
• 28:03
  it.
• 28:03
  So
• 28:03
  they
• 28:03
  went
• 28:03
  back,
• 28:04
  and
• 28:04
  they
• 28:04
  were
• 28:04
  like,
• 28:04
  I
• 28:04
  don't
• 28:05
  know
• 28:05
  how
• 28:05
  we
• 28:05
  can
• 28:05
  catch
• 28:05
  the
• 28:05
  guy.
• 28:05
  And
• 28:06
  I
• 28:06
  looked
• 28:06
  at
• 28:06
  it.
• 28:06
  I
• 28:06
  went,
• 28:06
  this
• 28:07
  wire
• 28:07
  was
• 28:07
  put
• 28:07
  in
• 28:08
  was
• 28:08
  made
• 28:09
  during.
• 28:09
  When
• 28:09
  the
• 28:09
  time
• 28:09
  guy
• 28:10
  owned
• 28:10
  a
• 28:10
  house.
• 28:11
  You
• 28:11
  just
• 28:11
  bought
• 28:11
  it.
• 28:12
  So
• 28:12
  went
• 28:12
  back
• 28:13
  through
• 28:13
  the
• 28:13
  realtor
• 28:13
  and
• 28:14
  said,
• 28:14
  hey,
• 28:14
  we're
• 28:14
  gonna
• 28:15
  have
• 28:15
  to.
• 28:15
  We
• 28:15
  got
• 28:15
  a
• 28:15
  problem.
• 28:15
  And
• 28:16
  so
• 28:16
  he
• 28:16
  ended
• 28:16
  up
• 28:16
  paying
• 28:17
  for
• 28:17
  that
• 28:17
  to
• 28:17
  be
• 28:17
  fixed
• 28:18
  correctly.
• 28:19
  But
• 28:20
  there's
• 28:20
  a
• 28:20
  lot
• 28:20
  of
• 28:20
  little
• 28:21
  tells
• 28:21
  if
• 28:21
  you're
• 28:22
  trying
• 28:22
  not
• 28:22
  to
• 28:22
  get
• 28:22
  caught.
• 28:23
  Wow.
• 28:23
  I
• 28:23
  don't.
• 28:24
  Yeah.
• 28:25
  And
• 28:26
  he
• 28:26
  probably
• 28:26
  didn't.
• 28:26
  Why?
• 28:26
  Because
• 28:27
  you
• 28:27
  had
• 28:27
  quoted
• 28:27
  it.
• 28:28
  And
• 28:28
  he
• 28:29
  decided
• 28:29
  to
• 28:29
  do
• 28:29
  most
• 28:30
  of
• 28:30
  it
• 28:30
  himself.
• 28:31
  So
• 28:32
  there
• 28:32
  was
• 28:32
  a
• 28:32
  homeowner
• 28:33
  up
• 28:33
  there
• 28:33
  that
• 28:33
  was.
• 28:34
  Oh,
• 28:34
  yeah,
• 28:34
  he
• 28:35
  dropped
• 28:35
  those
• 28:35
  like
• 28:35
  a
• 28:36
  bad
• 28:36
  habit.
• 28:37
  That
• 28:37
  just
• 28:38
  means
• 28:38
  you're
• 28:38
  in
• 28:38
  my
• 28:38
  way
• 28:39
  the
• 28:39
  whole
• 28:39
  time.
• 28:39
  I
• 28:39
  can't.
• 28:40
  Well,
• 28:40
  let's
• 28:40
  talk
• 28:40
  about
• 28:41
  that
• 28:41
  for
• 28:41
  a
• 28:41
  minute,
• 28:41
  man,
• 28:41
  before
• 28:42
  we
• 28:42
  go
• 28:42
  out
• 28:42
  to
• 28:42
  break
• 28:43
  here,
• 28:43
  because
• 28:43
  I
• 28:43
  think
• 28:44
  that's
• 28:44
  an
• 28:44
  important
• 28:44
  one.
• 28:45
  So
• 28:46
  many
• 28:46
  times
• 28:46
  you're
• 28:47
  starting
• 28:47
  that
• 28:47
  big
• 28:47
  project,
• 28:48
  and
• 28:48
  you're
• 28:48
  a
• 28:48
  homeowner,
• 28:49
  right?
• 28:49
  And
• 28:49
  you
• 28:49
  being
• 28:50
  the
• 28:50
  contractor
• 28:51
  and
• 28:51
  the
• 28:51
  homeowner
• 28:52
  goes,
• 28:52
  I
• 28:53
  want
• 28:53
  to
• 28:53
  do
• 28:53
  demo.
• 28:54
  I
• 28:54
  want
• 28:54
  to
• 28:54
  do
• 28:55
  this.
• 28:55
  I
• 28:55
  want
• 28:55
  to
• 28:56
  do
• 28:56
  that.
• 28:57
  You're
• 28:57
  putting
• 28:57
  up
• 28:58
  every
• 28:58
  red
• 28:58
  flag
• 28:59
  for
• 28:59
  that
• 28:59
  contractor,
• 29:00
  going,
• 29:00
  oh,
• 29:00
  there
• 29:00
  goes
• 29:01
  my
• 29:01
  schedule.
• 29:01
  There
• 29:02
  goes
• 29:02
  my
• 29:02
  project.
• 29:02
  And
• 29:03
  now
• 29:03
  you're
• 29:03
  hovering,
• 29:04
  and
• 29:04
  there's
• 29:05
  liability
• 29:05
  to
• 29:06
  it,
• 29:06
  and
• 29:06
  there's
• 29:07
  doing
• 29:07
  things
• 29:07
  wrong,
• 29:08
  and
• 29:08
  it's
• 29:08
  costing
• 29:09
  me
• 29:09
  time.
• 29:10
  And
• 29:11
  it.
• 29:12
  Look,
• 29:12
  I
• 29:12
  love
• 29:12
  it
• 29:13
  when
• 29:13
  the
• 29:13
  client
• 29:14
  feels
• 29:15
  involved
• 29:16
  and
• 29:16
  a
• 29:16
  part
• 29:16
  of
• 29:16
  the
• 29:16
  project.
• 29:17
  It's
• 29:17
  their
• 29:17
  project.
• 29:18
  It's
• 29:18
  their
• 29:18
  baby.
• 29:19
  I
• 29:19
  want
• 29:19
  to
• 29:19
  make
• 29:19
  them
• 29:20
  happy.
• 29:20
  That's
• 29:20
  absolutely
• 29:21
  my
• 29:21
  job.
• 29:22
  But
• 29:23
  if
• 29:23
  you
• 29:23
  don't
• 29:24
  trust
• 29:24
  me
• 29:24
  to
• 29:24
  get
• 29:25
  that
• 29:25
  done
• 29:25
  the
• 29:25
  way
• 29:26
  you
• 29:26
  tell
• 29:26
  me
• 29:26
  without
• 29:27
  standing
• 29:27
  over
• 29:27
  my
• 29:27
  shoulder
• 29:28
  and
• 29:28
  poking
• 29:28
  at
• 29:28
  stuff
• 29:29
  and
• 29:29
  asking
• 29:29
  the
• 29:29
  question,
• 29:30
  wouldn't
• 29:31
  it
• 29:31
  be
• 29:31
  better
• 29:31
  to
• 29:31
  do
• 29:32
  it
• 29:32
  like
• 29:32
  you.
• 29:33
  You
• 29:34
  can't.
• 29:34
  You're
• 29:34
  gonna.
• 29:35
  You're
• 29:35
  gonna
• 29:36
  piss
• 29:36
  off
• 29:36
  a
• 29:36
  contractor.
• 29:38
  You're
• 29:38
  gonna
• 29:38
  get
• 29:38
  your
• 29:39
  way
• 29:39
  sometimes,
• 29:40
  and
• 29:40
  things
• 29:40
  are
• 29:40
  gonna
• 29:40
  turn
• 29:41
  out
• 29:41
  worse
• 29:41
  for
• 29:42
  it
• 29:43
  80%
• 29:43
  of
• 29:43
  the
• 29:44
  time.
• 29:45
  Not
• 29:45
  saying
• 29:45
  everybody
• 29:47
  doesn't
• 29:47
  got
• 29:47
  common
• 29:48
  sense.
• 29:48
  But,
• 29:49
  guys,
• 29:49
  trust
• 29:50
  your
• 29:50
  contract.
• 29:50
  If
• 29:50
  you're
• 29:51
  gonna
• 29:51
  use
• 29:51
  a
• 29:51
  contractor,
• 29:52
  find
• 29:52
  a
• 29:53
  good
• 29:53
  one.
• 29:53
  Get
• 29:54
  good
• 29:54
  references.
• 29:55
  Look
• 29:56
  at
• 29:56
  his
• 29:56
  old
• 29:56
  work.
• 29:57
  Drive
• 29:57
  by
• 29:57
  houses
• 29:58
  he's
• 29:58
  worked
• 29:58
  on,
• 29:58
  like,
• 29:59
  legit.
• 29:59
  Look
• 29:59
  at
• 30:00
  his
• 30:00
  work.
• 30:00
  Don't
• 30:00
  just
• 30:00
  let
• 30:00
  him
• 30:01
  show
• 30:01
  you
• 30:01
  some
• 30:02
  website
• 30:03
  from
• 30:03
  somebody
• 30:03
  else,
• 30:04
  because
• 30:04
  they
• 30:05
  do
• 30:05
  it
• 30:06
  usually
• 30:06
  the
• 30:06
  guy
• 30:07
  with
• 30:07
  the
• 30:07
  biggest,
• 30:08
  longest,
• 30:10
  loudest
• 30:10
  truck.
• 30:11
  And
• 30:12
  then,
• 30:12
  man,
• 30:13
  it's
• 30:13
  like
• 30:13
  sending
• 30:14
  your
• 30:14
  kids
• 30:14
  to
• 30:14
  school.
• 30:15
  Like,
• 30:15
  you
• 30:15
  gotta
• 30:15
  trust
• 30:16
  that
• 30:16
  the
• 30:16
  teacher's
• 30:16
  gonna
• 30:17
  do
• 30:17
  the
• 30:17
  right
• 30:17
  thing.
• 30:17
  And
• 30:18
  if
• 30:18
  you
• 30:18
  find
• 30:18
  out
• 30:18
  halfway
• 30:19
  through
• 30:19
  second
• 30:19
  grade
• 30:20
  that
• 30:20
  the
• 30:20
  kid's
• 30:20
  beating
• 30:21
  everybody
• 30:21
  up
• 30:21
  because
• 30:22
  the
• 30:22
  teacher's
• 30:22
  not
• 30:23
  keeping
• 30:23
  them
• 30:23
  in
• 30:23
  line,
• 30:24
  maybe
• 30:25
  it's
• 30:25
  time
• 30:25
  to
• 30:25
  look
• 30:25
  for
• 30:25
  a
• 30:25
  change
• 30:26
  and
• 30:26
  get
• 30:26
  rid
• 30:27
  of
• 30:27
  that
• 30:27
  contractor.
• 30:28
  But
• 30:29
  too
• 30:29
  many
• 30:30
  chefs
• 30:31
  in
• 30:31
  the
• 30:31
  kitchen
• 30:32
  doesn't
• 30:33
  serve
• 30:33
  anybody.
• 30:34
  It's
• 30:34
  just
• 30:34
  soup,
• 30:35
  and
• 30:35
  it's
• 30:35
  not
• 30:35
  good.
• 30:36
  Excellent
• 30:36
  point,
• 30:37
  man.
• 30:37
  And.
• 30:38
  And
• 30:38
  I
• 30:38
  know
• 30:38
  that's
• 30:39
  hard.
• 30:39
  I
• 30:39
  know
• 30:39
  that's
• 30:39
  hard
• 30:40
  because
• 30:40
  there's
• 30:40
  so
• 30:40
  many
• 30:40
  people
• 30:41
  been
• 30:41
  burned
• 30:41
  by
• 30:42
  so
• 30:42
  many
• 30:42
  bad
• 30:42
  contractors
• 30:43
  and,
• 30:44
  yeah,
• 30:44
  you
• 30:44
  know,
• 30:45
  plumbers
• 30:45
  showing
• 30:46
  up
• 30:46
  drunk.
• 30:46
  Well,
• 30:47
  you
• 30:47
  know,
• 30:47
  before
• 30:48
  we
• 30:48
  go
• 30:48
  out
• 30:48
  to
• 30:48
  break
• 30:48
  here,
• 30:49
  that's
• 30:49
  one
• 30:49
  of
• 30:49
  the
• 30:49
  things
• 30:49
  that
• 30:50
  you
• 30:50
  see.
• 30:50
  90%
• 30:51
  of
• 30:51
  the
• 30:51
  contractors
• 30:51
  out
• 30:52
  there
• 30:52
  are
• 30:52
  great
• 30:52
  people,
• 30:52
  but
• 30:53
  it's
• 30:53
  that
• 30:53
  small
• 30:54
  percentage
• 30:54
  that
• 30:54
  ruins
• 30:55
  it
• 30:55
  for
• 30:55
  everybody
• 30:56
  that,
• 30:57
  you
• 30:57
  know,
• 30:57
  you
• 30:57
  find
• 30:58
  out
• 30:58
  you
• 30:58
  got
• 30:58
  the
• 30:59
  guys
• 31:00
  insulating
• 31:00
  upstairs
• 31:01
  in
• 31:02
  the
• 31:02
  attic
• 31:02
  space,
• 31:02
  that
• 31:03
  you
• 31:03
  go
• 31:03
  up
• 31:03
  there
• 31:03
  and
• 31:03
  it's
• 31:04
  like,
• 31:04
  where'd
• 31:04
  all
• 31:04
  these
• 31:04
  beer
• 31:04
  cans
• 31:05
  come
• 31:05
  from?
• 31:05
  Because
• 31:06
  it
• 31:06
  was
• 31:06
  hot
• 31:06
  and
• 31:06
  they
• 31:06
  were
• 31:07
  drinking
• 31:07
  beer
• 31:07
  up
• 31:07
  there
• 31:08
  while
• 31:08
  they
• 31:08
  were
• 31:08
  doing
• 31:08
  it.
• 31:08
  Those
• 31:09
  are
• 31:09
  things
• 31:09
  that
• 31:09
  happen
• 31:09
  that
• 31:10
  drives
• 31:10
  you
• 31:10
  crazy.
• 31:10
  We're
• 31:11
  gonna
• 31:11
  go
• 31:11
  out
• 31:11
  to
• 31:11
  break,
• 31:11
  guys.
• 31:11
  When
• 31:11
  we
• 31:12
  come
• 31:12
  back,
• 31:12
  we
• 31:13
  got
• 31:13
  a
• 31:13
  couple
• 31:13
  more
• 31:13
  stories
• 31:14
  you
• 31:14
  can
• 31:14
  probably
• 31:14
  learn
• 31:15
  from.
• 31:15
  We'll
• 31:15
  do
• 31:15
  that
• 31:16
  just
• 31:16
  as
• 31:16
  soon
• 31:16
  as
• 31:17
  around
• 31:17
  the

  just
• 33:25
  joining

  us,
• 33:25
  we've
• 33:25
  been
• 33:26
  talking
• 33:26
  here
• 33:26
  with
• 33:26
  my
• 33:26
  buddy
• 33:26
  John
• 33:27
  Dudley,
• 33:28
  former
• 33:28
  contractor,
• 33:29
  website
• 33:30
  designer.
• 33:31
  He
• 33:32
  helps
• 33:32
  contractors
• 33:33
  get
• 33:33
  through
• 33:33
  their
• 33:34
  business
• 33:34
  day
• 33:34
  and
• 33:34
  help
• 33:35
  them
• 33:35
  really
• 33:35
  get
• 33:35
  things
• 33:35
  dialed
• 33:36
  in.
• 33:36
  But
• 33:36
  today,
• 33:37
  we're
• 33:37
  talking
• 33:37
  about
• 33:38
  stuff
• 33:38
  that's
• 33:38
  going
• 33:38
  to
• 33:38
  help
• 33:38
  you
• 33:39
  get
• 33:39
  through
• 33:39
  that
• 33:39
  next
• 33:40
  project.
• 33:41
  And
• 33:41
  if
• 33:42
  you're
• 33:42
  just
• 33:42
  joining
• 33:43
  us,
• 33:43
  go
• 33:43
  back

  and
• 33:44

  sure.
• 33:44
  If
• 33:44
  you're
• 33:45
  listening
• 33:45
  to
• 33:46
  us
• 33:46
  on
• 33:46
  the
• 33:46
  talk
• 33:46
  media
• 33:47
  Network
• 33:47
  on
• 33:47
  the
• 33:47
  radio
• 33:47
  out
• 33:48
  there,
• 33:48
  grab
• 33:48
  the
• 33:48
  podcast.
• 33:49
  On
• 33:49
  your
• 33:49
  favorite
• 33:49
  podcast,
• 33:50
  Blair.
• 33:51
  Just
• 33:51
  look
• 33:51
  for
• 33:51
  the
• 33:51
  around
• 33:51
  the
• 33:51
  house
• 33:52
  show.
• 33:52
  But
• 33:53
  we've
• 33:53
  been
• 33:53
  talking
• 33:53
  about
• 33:53
  those
• 33:54
  things
• 33:54
  that
• 33:54
  trip
• 33:54
  up
• 33:55
  these
• 33:55
  projects
• 33:55
  that
• 33:56
  keep
• 33:56
  you
• 33:56
  from
• 33:56
  getting
• 33:57
  them
• 33:57
  finished.
• 33:58
  And
• 33:58
  so
• 33:58
  many
• 33:59
  things
• 33:59
  come
• 33:59
  down
• 33:59
  to
• 33:59
  planning.
• 34:00
  But,
• 34:00
  man,
• 34:00
  I
• 34:01
  tell
• 34:01
  you
• 34:01
  what,
• 34:01
  I
• 34:02
  have
• 34:02
  seen
• 34:03
  some
• 34:04
  nightmares
• 34:05
  when
• 34:05
  it
• 34:05
  comes
• 34:05
  to
• 34:06
  homeowners
• 34:07
  trying
• 34:07
  to
• 34:07
  help
• 34:08
  out
• 34:08
  contractors
• 34:09
  to
• 34:09
  get
• 34:10
  the
• 34:10
  job
• 34:10
  done.
• 34:10
  And
• 34:11
  one
• 34:11
  of
• 34:11
  the
• 34:11
  biggest
• 34:11
  ones
• 34:12
  was
• 34:12
  on
• 34:12
  a
• 34:12
  job
• 34:12
  site
• 34:13
  that
• 34:13
  my
• 34:14
  buddy
• 34:14
  was
• 34:14
  doing
• 34:14
  in
• 34:15
  Seattle,
• 34:16
  and
• 34:17
  he
• 34:17
  was
• 34:17
  helping
• 34:18
  out.
• 34:18
  And
• 34:19
  the
• 34:19
  home.
• 34:19
  It
• 34:19
  was
• 34:19
  a
• 34:20
  basement
• 34:20
  remodel.
• 34:21
  Okay.
• 34:21
  Seems
• 34:22
  pretty
• 34:22
  simple.
• 34:23
  Homeowner
• 34:24
  had
• 34:25
  hired
• 34:25
  a
• 34:25
  temp
• 34:25
  worker.
• 34:26
  I
• 34:27
  don't
• 34:27
  know
• 34:27
  if
• 34:27
  it
• 34:27
  was
• 34:27
  a
• 34:27
  cash
• 34:28
  deal
• 34:28
  or
• 34:28
  whatever
• 34:29
  it
• 34:29
  was,
• 34:29
  to
• 34:30
  do
• 34:30
  some
• 34:30
  stuff
• 34:30
  upstairs,
• 34:31
  like
• 34:32
  going
• 34:32
  through
• 34:33
  boxes
• 34:33
  and
• 34:34
  throwing
• 34:34
  stuff
• 34:34
  away.
• 34:35
  And
• 34:37
  the
• 34:38
  temp
• 34:38
  worker,
• 34:39
  who
• 34:40
  didn't
• 34:41
  have
• 34:41
  any
• 34:42
  conversation
• 34:42
  other
• 34:43
  than
• 34:43
  three
• 34:43
  or
• 34:44
  four
• 34:44
  sentences
• 34:44
  with
• 34:44
  the
• 34:45
  contractor
• 34:45
  that
• 34:45
  was
• 34:45
  working,
• 34:46
  came
• 34:46
  downstairs
• 34:47
  and
• 34:47
  went,
• 34:47
  hey,
• 34:47
  man,
• 34:47
  I
• 34:48
  got
• 34:48
  some
• 34:48
  trash
• 34:48
  can.
• 34:49
  I
• 34:49
  threw
• 34:49
  that
• 34:49
  in
• 34:49
  the
• 34:49
  dumpster.
• 34:50
  He
• 34:50
  was
• 34:51
  doing
• 34:51
  the
• 34:51
  right
• 34:51
  thing
• 34:51
  asking.
• 34:52
  He
• 34:52
  goes,
• 34:53
  yeah,
• 34:53
  go
• 34:53
  ahead
• 34:53
  and
• 34:53
  throw
• 34:53
  in
• 34:53
  the
• 34:53
  dumpster.
• 34:54
  That's
• 34:54
  good.
• 34:55
  A
• 34:55
  few
• 34:55
  minutes
• 34:55
  later,
• 34:56
  the
• 34:56
  kid
• 34:56
  falls
• 34:57
  off
• 34:57
  a
• 34:57
  ladder,
• 34:57
  gets
• 34:58
  hurt,
• 34:58
  has
• 34:58
  to
• 34:59
  go
• 34:59
  to
• 34:59
  the
• 34:59
  hospital.
• 35:00
  So
• 35:00
  now
• 35:01
  what
• 35:01
  happened
• 35:02
  is
• 35:03
  the
• 35:04
  kid
• 35:04
  tried
• 35:04
  to
• 35:04
  file
• 35:05
  a
• 35:05
  worker's
• 35:05
  comp
• 35:05
  claim
• 35:06
  on
• 35:06
  the
• 35:07
  contractor
• 35:08
  because
• 35:09
  he
• 35:09
  had
• 35:10
  gotten
• 35:10
  direction
• 35:11
  from
• 35:12
  the
• 35:12
  contractor
• 35:13
  on
• 35:13
  how
• 35:13
  to
• 35:13
  do
• 35:14
  something.
• 35:15
  So
• 35:15
  my
• 35:15
  buddy,
• 35:16
  the
• 35:16
  contractor
• 35:17
  had
• 35:17
  to
• 35:17
  go
• 35:17
  through
• 35:18
  about
• 35:18
  eight
• 35:19
  administrative
• 35:19
  court
• 35:20
  hearings
• 35:20
  with
• 35:20
  the
• 35:20
  state
• 35:21
  of
• 35:21
  Washington
• 35:21
  going,
• 35:22
  that
• 35:23
  wasn't
• 35:23
  my
• 35:23
  guy.
• 35:24
  And
• 35:25
  he
• 35:25
  finally
• 35:25
  had
• 35:26
  to
• 35:26
  go
• 35:26
  through
• 35:26
  three
• 35:26
  appeals
• 35:27
  through
• 35:27
  this
• 35:28
  whole
• 35:28
  process.
• 35:29
  Cost
• 35:29
  him
• 35:30
  a
• 35:30
  boatload
• 35:30
  of
• 35:30
  money
• 35:31
  just
• 35:31
  to
• 35:32
  get
• 35:32
  through
• 35:32
  that
• 35:32
  because
• 35:32
  he
• 35:32
  had
• 35:32
  attorneys
• 35:33
  and
• 35:33
  everything
• 35:33
  else.
• 35:34
  But
• 35:34
  this
• 35:34
  kid's
• 35:35
  medical
• 35:35
  bill
• 35:35
  was
• 35:36
  trying
• 35:36
  to
• 35:36
  show
• 35:37
  up
• 35:37
  on
• 35:37
  his
• 35:37
  workers
• 35:38
  comp
• 35:38
  insurance,
• 35:38
  which
• 35:39
  as
• 35:39
  an
• 35:40
  expensive
• 35:40
  part
• 35:41
  of
• 35:41
  an
• 35:41
  overhead
• 35:41
  for
• 35:41
  a
• 35:42
  contractor.
• 35:42
  And
• 35:43
  he
• 35:43
  had
• 35:44
  nothing
• 35:44
  to
• 35:44
  do
• 35:44
  with
• 35:45
  this
• 35:45
  guy
• 35:45
  other
• 35:45
  than
• 35:46
  saying,
• 35:46
  yeah,
• 35:46
  it's.
• 35:46
  Okay
• 35:47
  to
• 35:47
  throw
• 35:47
  in
• 35:47
  the
• 35:47
  dumpster
• 35:48
  wearing
• 35:48
  sweats.
• 35:49
  And
• 35:49
  I
• 35:49
  would
• 35:49
  have
• 35:49
  just
• 35:50
  bought
• 35:50
  another
• 35:50
  dumpster.
• 35:51
  That's
• 35:52
  what
• 35:52
  they
• 35:52
  do
• 35:52
  in
• 35:52
  Philly.
• 35:53
  Ooh,
• 35:53
  I
• 35:53
  get
• 35:54
  what
• 35:54
  you're
• 35:54
  saying
• 35:54
  there.
• 35:55
  Yeah,
• 35:55
  exactly.
• 35:56
  Exactly.
• 35:57
  But,
• 35:58
  you
• 35:58
  know,
• 35:58
  it's
• 35:58
  that
• 35:58
  insane.
• 35:59
  It's.
• 35:59
  And
• 36:00
  so
• 36:00
  this
• 36:00
  is
• 36:00
  where
• 36:01
  contractors,
• 36:02
  when
• 36:02
  you
• 36:02
  as
• 36:02
  a
• 36:02
  homeowner
• 36:03
  and
• 36:03
  you
• 36:03
  talk
• 36:03
  to
• 36:04
  them
• 36:04
  going,
• 36:04
  hey,
• 36:04
  I
• 36:04
  want
• 36:04
  to
• 36:04
  do
• 36:04
  part
• 36:05
  of
• 36:05
  it.
• 36:05
  This
• 36:05
  is
• 36:05
  why
• 36:06
  you
• 36:06
  see
• 36:06
  the
• 36:07
  eyes
• 36:07
  get
• 36:07
  wide.
• 36:08
  This
• 36:08
  is
• 36:08
  why
• 36:08
  you
• 36:08
  see
• 36:09
  them
• 36:09
  going,
• 36:09
  I
• 36:09
  don't
• 36:10
  know.
• 36:10
  This
• 36:11
  is
• 36:11
  where
• 36:11
  some
• 36:12
  contractors
• 36:12
  go,
• 36:13
  I
• 36:13
  want
• 36:13
  out.
• 36:13
  I
• 36:14
  want
• 36:14
  nothing
• 36:14
  to
• 36:14
  do
• 36:14
  with
• 36:14
  this.
• 36:15
  It's
• 36:15
  because
• 36:16
  of
• 36:16
  some
• 36:16
  of
• 36:16
  these
• 36:16
  things
• 36:17
  that
• 36:17
  happen.
• 36:17
  And
• 36:17
  especially
• 36:18
  in
• 36:18
  states
• 36:18
  like
• 36:19
  Washington
• 36:19
  state
• 36:20
  or
• 36:20
  Oregon
• 36:20
  where
• 36:21
  things
• 36:21
  get
• 36:22
  a
• 36:22
  little
• 36:22
  sketchy
• 36:22
  and
• 36:23
  it
• 36:23
  gets
• 36:23
  really
• 36:23
  gray
• 36:24
  when
• 36:24
  you
• 36:24
  start
• 36:24
  putting
• 36:25
  somebody's
• 36:26
  gig
• 36:26
  worker
• 36:27
  into
• 36:27
  a
• 36:27
  job
• 36:27
  site
• 36:28
  that
• 36:28
  the
• 36:28
  homeowner
• 36:28
  hired
• 36:29
  and
• 36:29
  has
• 36:30
  nothing
• 36:30
  to
• 36:30
  do
• 36:30
  with
• 36:31
  the
• 36:31
  remodeling
• 36:31
  contractor
• 36:32
  that's
• 36:32
  working.
• 36:32
  I
• 36:33
  fought
• 36:33
  for
• 36:34
  about
• 36:35
  three
• 36:35
  years
• 36:37
  for
• 36:37
  one
• 36:38
  of
• 36:38
  my
• 36:38
  guys
• 36:39
  that
• 36:40
  stepped
• 36:40
  off
• 36:40
  a
• 36:41
  four
• 36:41
  rung
• 36:41
  ladder,
• 36:42
  a
• 36:43
  four
• 36:43
  rung
• 36:43
  ladder
• 36:44
  that
• 36:44
  he
• 36:45
  put
• 36:46
  against
• 36:46
  the
• 36:46
  house
• 36:47
  unsafely.
• 36:49
  And
• 36:49
  he
• 36:49
  said
• 36:49
  when
• 36:50
  he
• 36:50
  stepped
• 36:50
  off
• 36:51
  it
• 36:51
  wrong,
• 36:52
  he
• 36:52
  developed
• 36:53
  plantar
• 36:54
  fasciitis
• 36:55
  that
• 36:56
  lasted
• 36:57
  for
• 36:57
  three
• 36:58
  years
• 36:59
  and
• 36:59
  so
• 36:59
  did
• 37:00
  his
• 37:00
  pain
• 37:01
  pill
• 37:01
  addiction.
• 37:02
  That's
• 37:03
  why
• 37:03
  they
• 37:03
  like
• 37:04
  to
• 37:04
  do
• 37:04
  that.
• 37:04
  Absolutely,
• 37:06
  absolutely.
• 37:07
  Even
• 37:07
  no
• 37:08
  names.
• 37:08
  Oh,
• 37:08
  yeah,
• 37:09
  absolutely.
• 37:10
  But
• 37:10
  with
• 37:11
  all
• 37:11
  the
• 37:11
  gall
• 37:12
  of
• 37:12
  I'll
• 37:12
  sue
• 37:13
  you
• 37:13
  and
• 37:13
  take
• 37:13
  everything
• 37:13
  you
• 37:14
  got.
• 37:14
  I'm
• 37:14
  like,
• 37:16
  well,
• 37:17
  and
• 37:17
  man,
• 37:17
  I
• 37:18
  tell
• 37:18
  you
• 37:18
  what,
• 37:18
  I've
• 37:18
  been
• 37:18
  standing
• 37:19
  too
• 37:19
  much
• 37:19
  on
• 37:19
  the
• 37:19
  ladder.
• 37:20
  And
• 37:20
  again,
• 37:21
  talk
• 37:21
  about
• 37:21
  wearing.
• 37:22
  You
• 37:22
  got
• 37:22
  to
• 37:22
  wear
• 37:22
  the
• 37:22
  right
• 37:22
  boots
• 37:23
  for
• 37:23
  that
• 37:23
  if
• 37:23
  you're
• 37:24
  going
• 37:24
  to
• 37:24
  be
• 37:24
  on
• 37:24
  the
• 37:24
  ladder
• 37:24
  all
• 37:25
  day.
• 37:25
  But
• 37:26
  right.
• 37:27
  This
• 37:27
  is
• 37:27
  guy.
• 37:27
  That's
• 37:28
  what
• 37:28
  I
• 37:28
  mean.
• 37:28
  It
• 37:28
  was
• 37:28
  just
• 37:29
  there.
• 37:29
  This
• 37:29
  is
• 37:29
  a
• 37:29
  guy
• 37:30
  been
• 37:30
  doing
• 37:30
  carpentry
• 37:31
  for
• 37:32
  30
• 37:32
  years,
• 37:32
  25
• 37:33
  years,
• 37:33
  something
• 37:34
  like
• 37:34
  that.
• 37:34
  But
• 37:35
  some
• 37:36
  somehow
• 37:36
  suddenly
• 37:38
  working
• 37:38
  for
• 37:38
  a
• 37:38
  guy
• 37:38
  that's
• 37:39
  got
• 37:39
  a
• 37:39
  little
• 37:39
  bit
• 37:39
  on
• 37:39
  a
• 37:40
  few
• 37:40
  properties
• 37:41
  and
• 37:41
  working
• 37:41
  on
• 37:42
  my
• 37:42
  own
• 37:42
  remodel
• 37:43
  at
• 37:43
  the
• 37:43
  time,
• 37:43
  the
• 37:43
  old
• 37:44
  1890s
• 37:45
  Victorian.
• 37:46
  Stepped
• 37:47
  off
• 37:47
  a
• 37:48
  four
• 37:48
  step
• 37:49
  ladder.
• 37:50
  Yeah,
• 37:50
  this
• 37:51
  stepped
• 37:52
  off
• 37:52
  six
• 37:52
  inches
• 37:53
  off
• 37:53
  the
• 37:53
  ladder.
• 37:54
  Not
• 37:54
  the
• 37:55
  other
• 37:55
  25
• 37:55
  years
• 37:56
  of
• 37:56
  abuse.
• 37:57
  Yeah,
• 37:57
  surely
• 37:58
  it's
• 37:58
  absolutely.
• 37:59
  Yeah,
• 38:00
  it's
• 38:00
  just
• 38:00
  that
• 38:00
  stuff
• 38:01
  that
• 38:01
  always
• 38:01
  gets
• 38:01
  you.
• 38:02
  But
• 38:02
  again,
• 38:02
  and
• 38:03
  then
• 38:03
  what
• 38:03
  happens
• 38:03
  is
• 38:04
  people,
• 38:04
  people
• 38:04
  go,
• 38:05
  oh,
• 38:05
  that
• 38:05
  can't
• 38:05
  be
• 38:05
  that
• 38:05
  big
• 38:05
  a
• 38:06
  deal.
• 38:06
  All
• 38:06
  of
• 38:06
  a
• 38:06
  sudden.
• 38:07
  That
• 38:07
  can
• 38:07
  add
• 38:07
  thousands
• 38:08
  of
• 38:08
  dollars
• 38:09
  a
• 38:09
  year
• 38:10
  in
• 38:10
  overhead
• 38:11
  for
• 38:11
  the
• 38:11
  business
• 38:11
  owner
• 38:12
  who's
• 38:13
  the
• 38:13
  remodeling
• 38:13
  contractor
• 38:14
  that
• 38:15
  panic
• 38:15
  attacks.
• 38:16
  It's
• 38:16
  crazy.
• 38:17
  It's
• 38:17
  crazy.
• 38:17
  I
• 38:17
  want
• 38:17
  to
• 38:18
  wrap
• 38:18
  a
• 38:18
  bow
• 38:18
  around
• 38:18
  this
• 38:19
  really
• 38:19
  well
• 38:19
  as
• 38:19
  we're
• 38:20
  getting
• 38:20
  into
• 38:20
  the
• 38:20
  last
• 38:20
  half
• 38:21
  of
• 38:21
  this
• 38:21
  last
• 38:21
  segment,
• 38:22
  but
• 38:22
  I
• 38:22
  think
• 38:22
  really
• 38:22
  for
• 38:23
  homeowners,
• 38:23
  if
• 38:23
  you're
• 38:23
  out
• 38:24
  there
• 38:24
  listening
• 38:24
  to
• 38:24
  us
• 38:25
  and
• 38:25
  you're
• 38:25
  like,
• 38:25
  man,
• 38:26
  I
• 38:26
  got
• 38:26
  these
• 38:26
  big
• 38:26
  projects.
• 38:27
  One
• 38:29
  plan
• 38:29
  it
• 38:29
  out
• 38:30
  too.
• 38:30
  If
• 38:31
  you're
• 38:31
  hiring
• 38:31
  a
• 38:31
  contractor,
• 38:33
  work
• 38:33
  with
• 38:33
  their
• 38:33
  designer,
• 38:34
  work
• 38:34
  with
• 38:34
  their
• 38:34
  team
• 38:35
  and
• 38:36
  let
• 38:36
  them
• 38:36
  do
• 38:36
  what's
• 38:37
  best.
• 38:37
  It
• 38:37
  might
• 38:38
  cost
• 38:38
  you
• 38:39
  more
• 38:39
  to
• 38:40
  try
• 38:40
  to
• 38:40
  do
• 38:40
  some
• 38:40
  of
• 38:41
  these
• 38:41
  things
• 38:41
  as
• 38:41
  a
• 38:41
  DIY
• 38:42
  project
• 38:42
  because
• 38:43
  that
• 38:44
  homeowner
• 38:45
  contractor
• 38:46
  relationship
• 38:46
  is
• 38:47
  touchy.
• 38:47
  They
• 38:47
  don't
• 38:47
  know
• 38:48
  your
• 38:48
  skills.
• 38:48
  You
• 38:49
  have
• 38:49
  done
• 38:49
  your
• 38:50
  research.
• 38:50
  You
• 38:50
  know
• 38:50
  theirs.
• 38:51
  But
• 38:52
  when
• 38:52
  you
• 38:52
  say
• 38:52
  I
• 38:52
  want
• 38:53
  to
• 38:53
  do
• 38:53
  demo
• 38:53
  on
• 38:53
  the
• 38:54
  kitchen,
• 38:54
  they're
• 38:54
  like,
• 38:54
  oh
• 38:55
  my
• 38:55
  gosh,
• 38:55
  there's
• 38:55
  going
• 38:56
  to
• 38:56
  be
• 38:56
  a
• 38:56
  job
• 38:56
  site
• 38:57
  mess.
• 38:57
  All
• 38:58
  the
• 38:58
  nails
• 38:58
  are
• 38:58
  still
• 38:58
  going
• 38:59
  to
• 38:59
  be
• 38:59
  left
• 38:59
  or
• 38:59
  screws
• 39:00
  are
• 39:00
  going
• 39:00
  to
• 39:00
  be
• 39:00
  left
• 39:00
  in
• 39:00
  from
• 39:00
  the
• 39:01
  drywall.
• 39:01
  It's
• 39:02
  not
• 39:02
  going
• 39:02
  to
• 39:02
  be
• 39:02
  cleaned
• 39:03
  up
• 39:03
  to
• 39:03
  what
• 39:03
  they
• 39:04
  want
• 39:04
  it.
• 39:05
  And
• 39:05
  so
• 39:05
  they're
• 39:06
  still
• 39:06
  going
• 39:06
  to
• 39:06
  probably
• 39:07
  charge
• 39:07
  you.
• 39:08
  They're
• 39:08
  not
• 39:08
  going
• 39:09
  to
• 39:09
  take
• 39:09
  off
• 39:09
  that
• 39:09
  demo
• 39:10
  bill
• 39:10
  off
• 39:10
  there
• 39:11
  because
• 39:11
  they
• 39:11
  still
• 39:11
  need
• 39:12
  to
• 39:12
  make
• 39:12
  sure
• 39:12
  things
• 39:12
  were
• 39:13
  demoed
• 39:13
  correctly.
• 39:14
  And
• 39:14
  so
• 39:15
  you
• 39:15
  can
• 39:15
  actually
• 39:15
  cost
• 39:15
  yourself
• 39:16
  more
• 39:18
  by
• 39:18
  doing
• 39:18
  this
• 39:18
  part
• 39:18
  wrong
• 39:19
  because
• 39:19
  they're
• 39:20
  going
• 39:20
  to
• 39:20
  upcharge
• 39:20
  it
• 39:21
  in
• 39:21
  that
• 39:21
  pain
• 39:22
  in
• 39:22
  the
• 39:22
  butt
• 39:22
  factor
• 39:23
  and
• 39:23
  go,
• 39:23
  oh
• 39:24
  my
• 39:24
  gosh.
• 39:24
  Or
• 39:24
  that
• 39:25
  contractor
• 39:25
  just
• 39:25
  goes,
• 39:26
  yeah,
• 39:26
  I'm
• 39:26
  out.
• 39:26
  I
• 39:26
  don't
• 39:27
  want
• 39:27
  to
• 39:27
  be
• 39:28
  sharing
• 39:28
  the
• 39:28
  job
• 39:29
  site
• 39:29
  with
• 39:29
  you
• 39:29
  as
• 39:29
  your
• 39:29
  own
• 39:30
  self
• 39:30
  contractor.
• 39:31
  The
• 39:31
  old
• 39:31
  joke
• 39:31
  used
• 39:32
  to
• 39:32
  be,
• 39:32
  if
• 39:33
  the
• 39:33
  client
• 39:33
  wants
• 39:34
  to
• 39:34
  help,
• 39:35
  it's
• 39:35
  double.
• 39:36
  And
• 39:36
  we
• 39:37
  weren't
• 39:37
  really
• 39:37
  joking.
• 39:38
  But
• 39:39
  the
• 39:39
  worst
• 39:39
  was
• 39:39
  when
• 39:39
  they
• 39:40
  were
• 39:40
  like,
• 39:40
  yeah,
• 39:41
  okay.
• 39:42
  You're
• 39:42
  like,
• 39:43
  I
• 39:43
  still
• 39:44
  gotta
• 39:44
  do
• 39:44
  it.
• 39:44
  Even
• 39:45
  for
• 39:45
  double.
• 39:45
  It
• 39:45
  hurts.
• 39:46
  I
• 39:46
  still
• 39:47
  gotta
• 39:47
  do
• 39:47
  it.
• 39:48
  Ah.
• 39:49
  So
• 39:49
  really
• 39:49
  just
• 39:50
  be
• 39:50
  careful
• 39:50
  with
• 39:50
  that.
• 39:51
  And.
• 39:51
  And
• 39:52
  one
• 39:52
  of
• 39:52
  the
• 39:52
  other
• 39:52
  things
• 39:52
  is
• 39:53
  if
• 39:53
  you're
• 39:53
  gonna
• 39:53
  do
• 39:53
  it
• 39:53
  as
• 39:54
  a
• 39:54
  DIY
• 39:54
  project,
• 39:55
  that's
• 39:55
  awesome.
• 39:56
  But
• 39:56
  pull
• 39:57
  the
• 39:57
  permits.
• 39:58
  And
• 39:58
  sometimes
• 40:00
  you
• 40:00
  can
• 40:00
  actually.
• 40:01
  Because
• 40:02
  like,
• 40:02
  insulation's
• 40:03
  a
• 40:03
  great
• 40:03
  one.
• 40:03
  For
• 40:03
  instance,
• 40:05
  I
• 40:05
  can
• 40:05
  almost
• 40:06
  hire
• 40:07
  an
• 40:07
  insulation
• 40:08
  company
• 40:08
  to
• 40:09
  come
• 40:09
  in
• 40:09
  and
• 40:09
  insulate
• 40:10
  the
• 40:10
  attic
• 40:11
  for
• 40:11
  the
• 40:11
  price
• 40:11
  of
• 40:12
  what
• 40:12
  the
• 40:12
  insulation
• 40:13
  is.
• 40:14
  So
• 40:14
  if
• 40:15
  you.
• 40:15
  There's
• 40:15
  so
• 40:16
  much
• 40:16
  markup
• 40:16
  in
• 40:16
  that,
• 40:17
  I've
• 40:18
  had
• 40:18
  it
• 40:18
  where
• 40:18
  it's
• 40:18
  300
• 40:19
  difference.
• 40:20
  And
• 40:20
  I'm
• 40:20
  like,
• 40:20
  I'm
• 40:21
  gonna
• 40:21
  crawl
• 40:21
  up
• 40:21
  and
• 40:22
  carry
• 40:22
  these
• 40:23
  three
• 40:23
  pallets
• 40:23
  of
• 40:24
  insulation
• 40:24
  up
• 40:24
  into
• 40:24
  the
• 40:25
  attic
• 40:25
  myself
• 40:26
  and
• 40:26
  spread
• 40:26
  them
• 40:26
  out,
• 40:27
  crawl
• 40:27
  around
• 40:27
  and
• 40:28
  it's
• 40:28
  300
• 40:28
  bucks.
• 40:29
  Take
• 40:29
  my
• 40:29
  money,
• 40:30
  come
• 40:30
  do
• 40:30
  it.
• 40:31
  I
• 40:31
  don't
• 40:31
  even
• 40:31
  walk
• 40:32
  down
• 40:32
  the
• 40:32
  insulation
• 40:32
  aisle
• 40:33
  in
• 40:33
  Home
• 40:33
  Depot.
• 40:34
  I
• 40:34
  refuse.
• 40:35
  Like,
• 40:35
  it
• 40:36
  makes
• 40:36
  me
• 40:36
  itch
• 40:36
  and
• 40:37
  choke.
• 40:37
  I
• 40:38
  can.
• 40:39
  I
• 40:39
  spent
• 40:39
  three
• 40:39
  days
• 40:40
  as
• 40:40
  a
• 40:40
  17
• 40:40
  year
• 40:41
  old
• 40:41
  doing
• 40:41
  insulation
• 40:42
  and
• 40:42
  I
• 40:42
  walked
• 40:43
  off
• 40:43
  the
• 40:43
  only
• 40:43
  job
• 40:43
  I
• 40:44
  ever
• 40:44
  walked
• 40:44
  off.
• 40:44
  I
• 40:45
  was
• 40:45
  like,
• 40:45
  I
• 40:45
  can't
• 40:45
  no
• 40:45
  more.
• 40:46
  My
• 40:46
  whole
• 40:46
  face
• 40:46
  was
• 40:47
  round
• 40:47
  and
• 40:47
  red.
• 40:48
  Oh,
• 40:48
  yeah,
• 40:49
  no.
• 40:49
  I
• 40:49
  don't
• 40:49
  know
• 40:50
  how
• 40:50
  you
• 40:50
  guys
• 40:50
  do
• 40:50
  it.
• 40:51
  Can't
• 40:51
  do
• 40:51
  it.
• 40:52
  Can't
• 40:52
  do
• 40:52
  it.
• 40:53
  And
• 40:53
  so
• 40:53
  drywall
• 40:54
  can
• 40:54
  be
• 40:54
  one
• 40:54
  of
• 40:54
  those
• 40:54
  things
• 40:54
  as
• 40:55
  well.
• 40:55
  I've
• 40:55
  had
• 40:55
  it
• 40:55
  where
• 40:56
  the
• 40:56
  drywallers
• 40:57
  get
• 40:57
  the
• 40:57
  drywall
• 40:58
  cheap
• 40:58
  enough.
• 40:58
  Our
• 40:59
  beach
• 40:59
  house
• 40:59
  out
• 40:59
  there,
• 41:00
  what
• 41:00
  was
• 41:00
  it?
• 41:00
  It
• 41:00
  was
• 41:00
  for
• 41:01
  us
• 41:01
  to
• 41:01
  get
• 41:01
  a
• 41:01
  price
• 41:01
  on
• 41:02
  half
• 41:02
  inch
• 41:03
  drywall
• 41:04
  to
• 41:04
  have
• 41:04
  that
• 41:04
  delivered
• 41:05
  in
• 41:05
  the
• 41:05
  house.
• 41:06
  The
• 41:06
  difference
• 41:07
  between
• 41:07
  my
• 41:08
  brother
• 41:08
  and
• 41:08
  I
• 41:08
  Doing
• 41:08
  it
• 41:09
  and
• 41:09
  having
• 41:09
  a
• 41:09
  guy
• 41:10
  come
• 41:10
  in
• 41:11
  and
• 41:11
  hang
• 41:12
  it,
• 41:12
  tape
• 41:13
  it,
• 41:13
  butt
• 41:14
  it,
• 41:14
  texture
• 41:15
  it,
• 41:16
  prime
• 41:16
  it
• 41:17
  for
• 41:17
  the
• 41:17
  whole
• 41:18
  house.
• 41:18
  The
• 41:18
  difference
• 41:18
  was
• 41:19
  $2,000.
• 41:20
  And
• 41:20
  I'm
• 41:20
  like,
• 41:22
  no,
• 41:22
  knock
• 41:23
  it
• 41:23
  out.
• 41:23
  Trust
• 41:23
  us,
• 41:24
  folks.
• 41:24
  We're
• 41:24
  old
• 41:25
  guys
• 41:25
  and
• 41:25
  we've
• 41:25
  tried
• 41:26
  all
• 41:26
  this
• 41:26
  stuff.
• 41:27
  We've
• 41:27
  tried
• 41:27
  the
• 41:27
  shortcuts.
• 41:28
  We've
• 41:28
  tried
• 41:28
  to
• 41:28
  do
• 41:29
  it
• 41:29
  ourselves.
• 41:30
  And
• 41:30
  if
• 41:30
  we've
• 41:30
  learned
• 41:31
  anything,
• 41:31
  it's
• 41:32
  work
• 41:32
  smarter,
• 41:32
  not
• 41:32
  harder.
• 41:33
  And
• 41:33
  it
• 41:34
  is
• 41:34
  always
• 41:34
  worth
• 41:35
  the
• 41:35
  money
• 41:35
  on
• 41:35
  certain
• 41:36
  things.
• 41:36
  If
• 41:36
  you
• 41:36
  love
• 41:37
  to
• 41:37
  paint
• 41:37
  away
• 41:37
  till
• 41:38
  your
• 41:38
  heart's
• 41:38
  content,
• 41:39
  but
• 41:39
  things
• 41:40
  that
• 41:40
  are
• 41:40
  just
• 41:40
  going
• 41:40
  to
• 41:41
  frustrate
• 41:41
  you
• 41:41
  and
• 41:41
  make
• 41:41
  you
• 41:42
  hate
• 41:42
  your
• 41:42
  own
• 41:42
  project
• 41:42
  and
• 41:43
  inevitably
• 41:44
  really
• 41:44
  not
• 41:44
  like
• 41:44
  it
• 41:45
  when
• 41:45
  it's
• 41:45
  done.
• 41:46
  Like,
• 41:46
  you
• 41:46
  should
• 41:47
  like
• 41:47
  it.
• 41:47
  Like,
• 41:47
  let
• 41:48
  the
• 41:48
  good
• 41:48
  guys
• 41:48
  do
• 41:49
  it.
• 41:49
  And
• 41:50
  so
• 41:50
  you
• 41:50
  can
• 41:51
  just
• 41:51
  show
• 41:51
  up
• 41:51
  and
• 41:51
  dance
• 41:52
  and
• 41:52
  cry
• 41:52
  in
• 41:52
  your
• 41:53
  new
• 41:53
  kitchen
• 41:53
  and
• 41:53
  be
• 41:53
  excited
• 41:54
  about
• 41:54
  it.
• 41:55
  Because
• 41:56
  a
• 41:56
  lot
• 41:56
  of
• 41:56
  the
• 41:56
  process
• 41:57
  is
• 41:57
  frustrating,
• 41:59
  as
• 41:59
  it
• 41:59
  will
• 41:59
  be
• 42:00
  if
• 42:00
  you
• 42:01
  aren't
• 42:01
  good
• 42:01
  at
• 42:01
  what
• 42:02
  you're
• 42:02
  doing.
• 42:03
  Really,
• 42:03
  it
• 42:03
  takes
• 42:04
  the
• 42:04
  luster
• 42:04
  off
• 42:04
  and
• 42:05
  wrecks
• 42:05
  it.
• 42:06
  Yeah.
• 42:06
  And,
• 42:06
  Eric,
• 42:07
  what's
• 42:07
  a
• 42:07
  good
• 42:07
  way?
• 42:08
  Let's
• 42:08
  say
• 42:09
  somebody's
• 42:09
  got
• 42:09
  a
• 42:10
  project
• 42:10
  out
• 42:10
  there,
• 42:11
  they're
• 42:12
  trying
• 42:12
  to
• 42:12
  start
• 42:12
  planning
• 42:13
  it.
• 42:13
  They're
• 42:13
  thinking
• 42:13
  what
• 42:14
  they
• 42:14
  want.
• 42:14
  They
• 42:14
  want
• 42:15
  the
• 42:15
  bathroom
• 42:15
  to
• 42:16
  look
• 42:16
  like
• 42:16
  this.
• 42:16
  They
• 42:16
  want
• 42:17
  this
• 42:17
  kind
• 42:17
  of
• 42:17
  tile.
• 42:17
  They
• 42:18
  want
• 42:18
  arch
• 42:19
  ceilings,
• 42:20
  peaked
• 42:20
  roof,
• 42:21
  flat
• 42:21
  roof,
• 42:22
  whatever.
• 42:23
  They've
• 42:23
  got
• 42:23
  a
• 42:23
  contractor
• 42:24
  in
• 42:24
  line
• 42:24
  that's

• 42:25
  some
• 42:25
  of
• 42:26
  the
• 42:26

• 42:26
  and
• 42:26
  starting
• 42:27
  to
• 42:27
  plan
• 42:27
  it
• 42:27
  out.
• 42:28
  What's
• 42:28
  a
• 42:28

• 42:30
  reach
• 42:30
  out
• 42:31
  to
• 42:31
  you
• 42:31
  or

• 42:40
  part
• 42:41
  of
• 42:41
  the
• 42:41

• 42:51
  like
• 42:51
  it
• 42:51
  would
• 42:51
  be
• 42:51
  cool
• 42:52
  if
• 42:52
  they
• 42:52
  could
