- 0:36who creates great beard care products, definitely checking
- 0:39out at Gunfighter Beard Co. Here are the special repeat
- 0:43guest. It's been a long time since he's
- 0:45been on because he's a traveling musician, travels all over the
- 0:48country, but primarily Florida based.
- 0:51And y'all, the big dog Hyman coming back on the show because
- 0:55man, did we have a crazy. I mean, it was probably one of
- 0:59the best weekends in college football I've seen in a super
- 1:02long time. And he wanted to come on and
- 1:05talk about it. So I appreciate you coming on,
- 1:07good Sir. Aw, man, Tony, it's always good
- 1:10to be be here. It was a yeah.
- 1:12Saturday was nuts. Saturday was insane.
- 1:14I just kept checking my phone and my gig and be like, what?
- 1:17What, what, what? This this blown away, blown
- 1:20away. But you know, as but I sent you
- 1:22that, that little clip after the BYU Notre Dame game that I I've
- 1:26been on the Mormon Saturday night and I'm like, I felt it.
- 1:29You did I I was expecting it, but I was like man, and and
- 1:33here's kind of the crazy thing. I find myself more and more as
- 1:37like the as I get more dive deep into college football and
- 1:42whatnot. It's like, man, after Saturday,
- 1:44I was like, Sunday can't even compete.
- 1:46Like I hope you're all. I still like the NFL.
- 1:48It's like it, it doesn't have the magic.
- 1:50It doesn't have this that college football had on.
- 1:54No, no. And especially this Sunday, this
- 1:56Sunday, I mean, it was good, but it it was you couldn't, you
- 1:59can't compare it. No, it was completely.
- 2:01You can't compare it because Saturday's college football was
- 2:03insane and so much to get to man.
- 2:06So yeah, let's get to it. Absolutely.
- 2:09So we'll start with probably the two biggest headliners in.
- 2:14We had five of the top seven teams in the AP Top 25 fall.
- 2:21One of those being #1 Georgia falls to Auburn on the last
- 2:24second field goal of 27 to 24. And of course, Texas in Austin
- 2:31gets upset by the Florida Gators of all teams, who, you know,
- 2:35destroys Ole Miss, gets whipped by Mizzou, gets stunned by the
- 2:41Gamecocks of all teams. But then they rolled into Austin
- 2:44like they just never left the Swamp and just took it with them
- 2:46there to Texas. So when I was making this
- 2:49graphic, not only was it a lot to make the individual graphics
- 2:54that we'll talk about here in a little bit for some of the other
- 2:56teams that won and lost, but I, I, I felt like really out of
- 3:01this topic, there's two things we can talk about and one of
- 3:06them, I mean, we can, but I'm not really as worried about
- 3:10Georgia. Like I didn't leave this game
- 3:12feeling like, oh man, Georgia has a problem.
- 3:14Like there, there was really nothing out of this.
- 3:17I'm like, oh man, Georgia's in trouble.
- 3:19This is just one of those. I feel like Georgia tripped.
- 3:22It was kind of a trap game. And it's also one of those that
- 3:26because it's still 12 team, 12 team playoff, they're still
- 3:30going to be in contention for the SEC championship barring
- 3:33just an absolute collapse at mid season.
- 3:36Georgia losing isn't really the end of the world.
- 3:39But man, Texas falling to Florida has opened a whirlwind
- 3:45of questions. As far as Texas Arch Manning,
- 3:48there's talks of Steve Sarkeesian.
- 3:50You know, he said at the end of the game, we're looking at
- 3:52everybody. And that includes even giving
- 3:54Texas's backup quarterback first team reps over Arch, which has
- 4:01then led to guys speculating that Arch should potentially
- 4:04enter the transfer portal next year.
- 4:06And so there. So let me just get your first
- 4:10initial, you know, thoughts and reactions to this whole Texas
- 4:14game as a whole. All right, well, my, you know,
- 4:18going into this year, my opinion of Arch was like, OK, stayed in
- 4:22college another year. He definitely needed to stay in
- 4:24college. Let's see how he excels under
- 4:28Sarkeesian. Because, you know, I mean,
- 4:30Sarkeesian is known to be an offensive guru and not so much a
- 4:34quarterback whisperer, but at least someone who could coach
- 4:37quarterbacks up. And you don't get them ready for
- 4:40the next level. And obviously you're thinking
- 4:42the the manning the lineage, the family name.
- 4:45Yep. I don't know if he has it.
- 4:49I really, really don't. You know, I, I, I watch him, I
- 4:53watch his, the way he plays. He makes, you know, some, some
- 4:56good decisions, like every quarterback, but there's
- 4:58decisions that he's making that there are passes that you, you
- 5:02just, you just can't throw, you know, and especially at the
- 5:04college level and the way it is, you know, I'm not impressed with
- 5:09him. I definitely see his draft stock
- 5:12will fall because of his performances.
- 5:15I mean, he's got a pretty much turn do a complete 180 the rest
- 5:18of the season if he still starts.
- 5:19I mean, you know, if if, if they get off to a slow start this
- 5:24week against Ole Miss and you know, and Ole Miss is no, no, no
- 5:28walk in the park. You know, Ole Miss is ranked
- 5:297th. Their Ole Miss is quarterback is
- 5:34phenomenal. So you know, they're definitely
- 5:35be able to run their offense. You know, the Sarkeesian teams
- 5:38aren't really known for their defense, although they're
- 5:39playing defensively decently this year.
- 5:42But in general, yeah, this Texas team is hardly what people
- 5:46thought it was going to be. You know, going in, losing the
- 5:48Red River robbery like they did, and then getting the Gators, who
- 5:52I don't think have ever been to Austin.
- 5:54I don't recall them ever playing at Austin before.
- 5:57Coming into Austin after getting blown out the way the Gators
- 6:00have gotten blown out this season twice going in there and
- 6:03completely just, you know, just, yeah, this Texas team is
- 6:08they're, they're almost like, you know, they're almost like
- 6:11the, the, the LA Rams of college football.
- 6:12Then on paper. And everyone was saying, oh,
- 6:14they're going to be great, they're going to have a great
- 6:16year, blah, blah, blah. And Nah, it's, it's just not
- 6:19there. And I don't if if I don't, I
- 6:22don't know. They might not make the playoff
- 6:24only because of their losses and who they've lost to.
- 6:28You know, these are not good losses.
- 6:29These are bad losses because Oklahoma's unranked.
- 6:33I mean, Florida is going to be up and down, you know, I mean,
- 6:35if Florida's ranking goes up, maybe, but compared to the other
- 6:38teams in the SECI, don't see them jumping over Bama, Georgia
- 6:42or Ole Miss right now. You know, even if they beat and,
- 6:45and if they beat Ole Miss, but I don't, I don't think they can
- 6:48even in Austin, I don't think they can beat Ole Miss.
- 6:49I really don't. And, and the thing with Ole Miss
- 6:53too, is especially from that last game, Ole Miss's defense
- 6:56has significantly improved. I mean, they're, and that was
- 7:00kind of one thing that I, when I even watched the first game
- 7:02against Louisville, it was like, man, their defense might be
- 7:05something that they have to worry about, which is ironic
- 7:08given Pete Goulding as a defensive guy and how well that
- 7:11defensive did last year. And plus, if you look at Texas's
- 7:16remaining schedule, it's not easy.
- 7:19They've got they've got Old Miss coming into town.
- 7:22They have Mississippi State on Halloween and then you have to
- 7:25go to Missouri or Missouri, Missouri, Missouri, Missouri.
- 7:31Then you have to go to Death Valley in LSU, then you host
- 7:36Arkansas and then you finish the year going to Texas A&M.
- 7:39Now, albeit Texas A&M is a shell of what we thought that they
- 7:43were going to be, it's still a rivalry game.
- 7:46And if anybody meets Texas more, it's Texas A&M.
- 7:49So I mean. An old Southwestern Conference
- 7:52robbery. Absolutely, and Texas has got
- 7:56the smack down on them no matter how bad they've been the last
- 7:58couple of seasons. And you know, Texas A&M is, is
- 8:02not a fan of that. So I mean, I, I, I'll say this
- 8:06about large. I think part of it is the, is
- 8:09the pressure and a lot of people brought up and, and I even I
- 8:12would agree with them. He's used to the pressure
- 8:15because it's all he's ever known.
- 8:17Like he's been born a Manning. That's all he's ever been his
- 8:20entire life as a Manning. The expectations have always
- 8:23been set forth for him that he's supposed to come in, he's
- 8:26supposed to do great. And I, I have kind of pushed
- 8:30back and defended because it's like, OK, well, he still has to
- 8:33learn like it. When, when you dominate in high
- 8:37school, that's one thing because you know, you're, you're kind of
- 8:40the big fish in a small pond kind of scenario is how I
- 8:43compare it to then you go to college and especially a big
- 8:47college like Texas, who has historically always recruited
- 8:50well, they've always brought in, you know, big type of players.
- 8:54Texas moves from the Big 12 into the SEC.
- 8:57So now you're moving into one of the, you know, one of the two.
- 9:01However you want to rank them premier conferences to compete
- 9:03in and you are playing up against some of the best of the
- 9:07best guys that are going to be even the best as they move on to
- 9:11the next level. He's he's not used to doing
- 9:14that. And and honestly, I I feel bad
- 9:18for him because I do agree when I sit here and I watch arch and
- 9:22you know, his draft stock falls. I don't see an NFL franchise
- 9:26quarterback right now. Like I feel like if you threw
- 9:28him into any NFL franchise, I think unfortunately he would be
- 9:32the first Manning labeled as a bust.
- 9:35Now, I think I think people would still give him a shot
- 9:38because of his last name Manning, whether he's a first
- 9:40round pick or not, But I mean just just how it sits right now.
- 9:46I don't see it. And I think what also hurts him
- 9:50is because I think Arch gets compared more to Peyton than he
- 9:54does Eli. And you being a Giants fan, you
- 9:57know, you you probably know Eli significantly better than I do.
- 10:01Like Peyton was cerebral. You know, he was obsessed with
- 10:05the game. Like he was going to dissect
- 10:07your team. He was going to know your plays,
- 10:09your emotions, your tendencies, all of that.
- 10:12He was going to do that hand over fist, you know, 10 out of
- 10:1510 times. Now, it doesn't mean always mean
- 10:17he was successful in doing that. We've we've seen Peyton Manning
- 10:21have some pretty rough games to start with, but it seemed like
- 10:25Eli was more of kind of that like loose.
- 10:28I'm just going to kind of go out and ball.
- 10:30Like Eli was never the cerebral dude.
- 10:33He was never really going to pick apart your defense.
- 10:35Like he was just going to go out and basically have a good time.
- 10:39Arch kind of reminds me more of Eli than he does Peyton.
- 10:43But I think the standard that they have them set at is he's
- 10:46supposed to be this like super combination of Peyton's IQ.
- 10:51But Eli, you know, Eli's athleticism plus, and I don't
- 10:56think that's necessarily fair because I don't think we have a
- 10:59true, I guess, gauge on Arch Manning as it sits.
- 11:05And if you look at his collegiate career, he's let's
- 11:07see, I think he's he started all last season.
- 11:09He went like 9 and 3, not including the bowl game, I don't
- 11:14think. I don't even remember what bowl
- 11:15game they played in. And then I know we had a couple
- 11:17starts for him prior to that, which he won.
- 11:20And then they're sitting here at 4:00 and 2:00 now.
- 11:23So I mean, he has an outstanding record for Texas.
- 11:26And I think if he was any other quarterback name other than
- 11:28Manning, they'd be like, he's a damn good quarterback for them.
- 11:33But it's still Texas and Texas is expecting, you know, winning,
- 11:37you know, they, they transferred to the, to the SEC because of
- 11:40the notoriety at the conference, obviously because of the money
- 11:42and all that stuff. But you know, they're expecting
- 11:44to, to win this conference, not just finish 3rd or 4th or
- 11:47whatever and stuff like that. You know, but it's interesting
- 11:51you, you said, you know, him being cerebral and it's, and
- 11:53it's funny because, you know, I basically saw Eli's entire pro
- 11:57career as a giant fan, you know, yeah, he won us 2 Super Bowls.
- 12:00But the mistakes he makes are definitely Eli mistakes.
- 12:04They're not painting mistakes. He's Coopers kid, right?
- 12:07Coopers, his father. Yeah.
- 12:09No, he's definitely making more Eli mistakes than painting.
- 12:13Definitely painting. Saw the field like almost like a
- 12:17point guard in basketball can see all the moving parts.
- 12:20I know and trust me, Eli could read the defense, you know,
- 12:23naturally, you know, but yeah, he's the mistakes he makes,
- 12:26those interceptions he throws, those are Eli mistakes.
- 12:28I definitely see the. I definitely see the parallel
- 12:30there for. Sure.
- 12:32And and I think what also hurts him is we haven't really seen a
- 12:36big game where we say arch is the reason why they won kind of
- 12:40thing like when you when and I think.
- 12:43Even the Ohio State game, it wasn't so much arch.
- 12:45I mean, Ohio State, their defense collapsed in the.
- 12:47Fourth quarter and it was Ohio State, just like, hey, we're
- 12:50going to try to do everything we can to not lose the game.
- 12:53Like that's all like we've built this up.
- 12:55This is all we're trying to protect.
- 12:56Like we're trying just not to screw up.
- 12:58And yeah, it's like when when I sit here and I look at it and I
- 13:03think about it, it's like he he doesn't have those big game
- 13:06moments. You know, Peyton had those big
- 13:08game moments where it's like he made the plays and they
- 13:10mattered. You know, like you said, now Eli
- 13:13made a lot of mistakes, but you know, he did win 2 Super Bowls
- 13:17and he made the plays that needed to happen in order to win
- 13:20those Super Bowls. And I feel like with Arch right
- 13:23now, he doesn't have one of those big win quality games to
- 13:27be able to say that, you know, the Ohio State game, obviously
- 13:30the Ohio State game last year, all the games he's played so
- 13:33far, heck, the multitude of times they faced Georgia, it's
- 13:37like, yeah, Arch, you're, you're not really the reason we won.
- 13:40If anything, you're the reason why we lost.
- 13:44But real quick before we finish on it, though, it did lead to
- 13:47the question of several people of should Arch Manning transfer
- 13:52and it and a couple people brought up two different things.
- 13:56They said one, if he transfers, then there's almost the stigma
- 14:00of, well, you couldn't get it done here.
- 14:03What makes you think that you could get it done somewhere
- 14:06else? And do you really feel that you
- 14:08need that much more help in order to do it?
- 14:12And of course, the other one, if he does, where does he go?
- 14:17I've, you know, one, one that I heard was Miami, because Miami
- 14:20likes to pay, you know, transfer quarterbacks.
- 14:22There's AI don't know if Derry Mintzel would stay one more year
- 14:26or if he'll decide to go into the draft or not.
- 14:29I think he has one more year if I remember right.
- 14:33But I mean, that's the other thing, you know, where does he
- 14:35go? I feel like there is a plethora
- 14:36of schools would be open to taking him, but I also feel he's
- 14:40not going to downgrade himself to like a lesser school.
- 14:46I think if if we sit here, maybe look at the landscape of teams
- 14:49that might be quarterback Meanie, you could say Oregon
- 14:54because maybe they move on from Dylan Rayola because this is
- 14:56obviously Dante Moore's last year.
- 14:59Maybe Ohio State, because this could be Julian Sayings last
- 15:03year. We don't know yet.
- 15:04Injury. Yeah, exactly.
- 15:06He's injured and Ohio. State, the UCLA quarterback went
- 15:09down today, too. I don't know if you saw that.
- 15:11Oh yeah, Nico. Yeah, he went down today too.
- 15:14Nico, they're. Having a hell of a year, which
- 15:16is, you know, which is amazing for USUCLA.
- 15:19They are. Does he go to USC with Lincoln
- 15:21Riley? And you know.
- 15:23That would be interesting. You know, get get that kind of
- 15:26an offensive mind, you know, old miss will probably look be
- 15:30looking for a quarterback post Trinidad Chambliss.
- 15:33He he wouldn't go, he wouldn't go to Eli's school.
- 15:35There's no doubt with that legacy of the name.
- 15:37No, you. Can't.
- 15:37I wouldn't think so. I don't think, I don't think
- 15:40he'll stay in the SEC if he transfers.
- 15:41I think he will go out of I don't think he would stay
- 15:44because he knows the competition and you know, he's not.
- 15:47George is not going to take him. You know, I mean, he's not.
- 15:50I think he would. I don't know.
- 15:52I don't know, you know, if, if he can play at Texas, he can
- 15:56play at Georgia. I mean the pressure at Georgia
- 15:58is just as big as Texas think. About it, it is.
- 16:00But here's the other argument I would make though, like where
- 16:04when you look at the transfer portal and you look at guys who
- 16:07are available, you know, how many of those guys have played
- 16:10at a big school and have played in the SEC like that and have
- 16:13that type of experience that, OK, if we bring you in, we know
- 16:17we've got a guy that that can make plays, that knows what he's
- 16:21doing. Yeah, it's going to be an
- 16:23interesting offseason for him because he's going to have a lot
- 16:25of decisions to make because it all it really depends on how
- 16:27much, what kind of season he has the rest of the way going over
- 16:30going the rest of the way. You know, if he if he steps up,
- 16:33if he plays well, increases the pro stock.
- 16:35I mean, he's he's got one more year eligibility, as we're
- 16:38saying, but he is a senior. He is a red shirt, you know, so
- 16:42he's age wise. But you know, as we know, these
- 16:44quarterbacks keep trying to go. Chambliss has been in school
- 16:46like what, for 45 years now? It's crazy, you know.
- 16:49So it, it'll be it'll be interesting to see how what he
- 16:55does the rest of the year. And I mean, if he gets benched,
- 16:59Oh yeah, do the whole transfer for sure.
- 17:00But if he doesn't get benched, he can start the rest of the
- 17:02season. They're being interesting to
- 17:04watch. I want to talk about Georgia
- 17:06real quick. I watched some of the the
- 17:09highlights again on the on the Georgia game.
- 17:11And it blows me away how a Kirby Smart team could play so sloppy
- 17:15with a bye week. I mean, they have a bye week
- 17:17this week. So it's not like it's not like
- 17:19you're like looking ahead past Auburn.
- 17:21You know, you've got the Florida game in two weeks.
- 17:24You've got the buy in between how a Kirby Smart team plays as
- 17:27sloppy as they did and and then the turnovers that Stockton
- 17:30made. It just you know, I was like
- 17:32this. They they just, they just, I
- 17:34don't know where their heads were this game, but you know,
- 17:36it, it was definitely that was not a typical Kirby Smart
- 17:39Georgia team for sure. I, I think they got bit by the
- 17:41complacency bug. They, they probably looked at
- 17:45Auburn and and they looked at them like I would look at Auburn
- 17:48this year. Like I honestly, the first game
- 17:51against Baylor, the game against Florida where they got, you
- 17:54know, demolished. I was kind of sitting here like
- 17:58maybe maybe Golish isn't the guy to be able to fix Auburn and I
- 18:01and I don't necessarily blame that on Golish.
- 18:03I think it's just they're they're you know, they drew the
- 18:06short straw of being the the quote UN quote second school in
- 18:09Alabama. And you know, they he has a huge
- 18:12mess that he has to try to has to try to clean up.
- 18:15That hasn't really been good since Hugh Freeze was the head
- 18:18coach, to be honest with you. So not Hugh Freeze, Gus Malzy.
- 18:23Sorry, Gus Malzy, I mean, they haven't really been relevant
- 18:26since he was the head coach. So it it was one I was kind of
- 18:30surprised. I think, like I said, I think
- 18:32Georgia just fell to complacency of Owens Auburn.
- 18:35We should have a pretty easy win and I I really think Auburn is
- 18:39is playing and kind of fighting their hearts out.
- 18:41But I also think it's a lot of the guys that came over from USF
- 18:45are learning to play in the SEC because I mean, you know, you go
- 18:49from USF, the American to the SEC, that's a, that's a big
- 18:53jump. There's a lot of lot of pain, a
- 18:55lot of grit, a lot of adjustment.
- 18:56And really they're just playing for a successful season.
- 18:59Like they're not there. There's no, I would say playoff
- 19:02intentions. There's no SEC championship
- 19:04hopes. There's definitely no national
- 19:06title contention hopes. I, I think it's just purely, you
- 19:10know, hey, let's have a good season.
- 19:11Let's see what we can do and give Alex ghoulish, you know,
- 19:15something positive to build off of.
- 19:17But yeah, I I think Georgia got bit by the by the complacency
- 19:21bug. Yeah, they're trying to get to
- 19:22the Pop Tart, the Pop Tart bowl or something.
- 19:25Absolutely. I will say real quick on back on
- 19:29the Arch thing before we move on.
- 19:31I did see a meme, of course, being here in Indiana.
- 19:33Somebody said the Arch needs to transfer to Indiana and be a
- 19:38coach. Signetti's prospect to coach to
- 19:41see how see how well he does for the Hoosiers.
- 19:45That would be, that would be interesting.
- 19:47I think that would be really interesting.
- 19:49To be honest, I'm not impressed with this Indiana quarterback
- 19:52this year at all. Not impressed.
- 19:53Now nothing. Now I I do want to throw one
- 19:56more school out there that I think would be, it'd kind of be
- 19:59a full circle moment. And I'm kind of surprised none
- 20:02of the Mannings went to it because they're from Louisiana.
- 20:06I'm really surprised LSU isn't thrown in there for
- 20:09consideration. And if old arch would wear the
- 20:11purple and gold or not. Now, being an LSU fan for love
- 20:15God, don't be a Sam Levitt and just turn the ball over every
- 20:17flipping game. We'll get to that in a little
- 20:20bit. We will get to that in a little
- 20:22bit. But first let's let's move on
- 20:26though to the to the other big game.
- 20:28The weekend Ohio State gets their revenge from the Big 10
- 20:32championship game going to Bloomington taking on the
- 20:36Hoosiers and they get a big win, but it's at a cost because they
- 20:41lose Julian San for possibly several weeks and the prognosis
- 20:47so far is not looking good. But this is some of the stats
- 20:50that they had so far for the game.
- 20:52I mean, it was it was pretty close for both sides.
- 20:57And honestly, aside from Nick Marsh just kind of making a
- 21:02bonehead decision of he was wide open, he stepped out of bounds
- 21:06before he could secure the ball and basically taking that
- 21:09touchdown off the board. Indiana had this game won and it
- 21:13just didn't seem like Ohio State wanted to win it.
- 21:16But you know, that leads to the real big question of what does
- 21:21Ohio State do without Julian San with their schedule moving
- 21:24forward? Because they they have a tough
- 21:27schedule. Like I know everybody kind of
- 21:29mocks the Big 10, but their their schedule does not get any
- 21:33easier as this as this goes on. So they are in a buy this week.
- 21:38They they go to USC on Halloween, then they host
- 21:43Oregon. They host a very feisty
- 21:45Northwestern team. They go to Nebraska, which
- 21:49Nebraska is like this close to. I think really being back and
- 21:53being kind of a a formidable team to deal with.
- 21:57And then of course the game at the end of the year, they host
- 22:00Michigan, who they haven't beat in Columbus since like 2019.
- 22:06So it's been a long time since they've beaten the Wolverines
- 22:10there in the Horseshoe. But what?
- 22:12What was your thoughts on this Buckeyes and Hoosiers game?
- 22:15Well, I I sat and watched the entire first half just that's on
- 22:20my couch and even moved and didn't get up.
- 22:22Nothing. I saw two things.
- 22:25One, as I said before, this, this Hoover kid does not impress
- 22:30me at all. He he's, he's not Mendoza.
- 22:32His accuracy is terrible. He was 20 of 4020 of 4050%
- 22:37accuracy. There were about four plays in
- 22:39the first step where he completes those passes.
- 22:42And it wasn't even the receiver's fault.
- 22:44They were overthrown. Poorly thrown balls.
- 22:47He completes those passes. It's a whole different ball
- 22:49game. I'll tell you because, you know,
- 22:50there were third down plays where they should have converted
- 22:53to 1st downs, you know, and but it was, I mean, it was a tale of
- 22:57two halves, obviously. And obviously with the Ohio
- 22:59State quarterback going down, you know, Indiana, Indiana made
- 23:03the adjustments, which I was impressed.
- 23:04I see that he was able to make those adjustments, you know,
- 23:07definitely, you know, are they still a top ten team?
- 23:11Yeah, they're definitely a top ten team, but you know, with
- 23:16with Hoover at the helm, I don't I don't see them definitely.
- 23:19I don't see them having the success that they had last year.
- 23:22They're just not they're just not as impressive looking.
- 23:24They're not you know, they they they don't, they don't, they
- 23:27don't look like they out man. And physically out out physical
- 23:32out physically and physically you I can't think of a word, but
- 23:35you know what I mean? You know, they're not, they're
- 23:37not pushing teams around. You know, they, they do need to
- 23:42run the ball definitely a little better.
- 23:43You know, Turbo Richard having only 16 carriers or 46 yards,
- 23:49that's not going to get it because you know, the Big 10,
- 23:50it's not going to get it done. There's some, definitely some
- 23:52good teams in the Big 10 this year besides Ohio State and
- 23:55Indiana, said Northwestern spike, the weather spike.
- 23:58See, Iowa's having a much better year.
- 24:01UCLA is having a good year, and even USC, you know them.
- 24:06Ohio State going to USC should be really interesting because
- 24:09yes, you know that that team and that program has made the West
- 24:12Coast trip before, but this is a primetime game in the Coliseum.
- 24:17You know, I'm sure it'll probably, it'll probably be
- 24:21probably in either. No, no, it'll probably be Acbs
- 24:24game 'cause it's a it's a big, it's a big 10 game.
- 24:26So it might be, it might be or NBCI don't know.
- 24:28It's going to be a natural television game.
- 24:30Yeah. Oh, absolutely.
- 24:31But but. Without.
- 24:32Without their starting quarterback, it definitely
- 24:35changes the whole spectrum of the rest of the at least the
- 24:38next three to five weeks for them for sure.
- 24:41Well, it also, it also kind of gives, it'll be an interesting
- 24:45'cause it'll kind of be a tale of two games because you have
- 24:49what does the Ohio State offense look like?
- 24:51Because US CS defense is basically non existent of what
- 24:55paper bag is a tougher defense than US CS.
- 24:58But then on the flip side, Ohio State's defense is legitimate.
- 25:02You know, obviously as they made Indiana struggle throughout the
- 25:05entirety of that game. So can they do the same thing to
- 25:08US CS offense and make US CS offense, you know, kind of a
- 25:11stalemate. So I wonder if we don't get a
- 25:13repeat of kind of a low scoring game like we did here against
- 25:17IU, if it's if. It's low scoring.
- 25:20It favors Ohio State for sure. Absolutely, yeah.
- 25:24I will say for IU, they do get, they get kind of a break as far
- 25:28as their schedule goes. So they go, they go to Michigan
- 25:32this coming Saturday, which isn't the end of the world
- 25:34because Michigan's been very hot and cold.
- 25:36I think if there's ever a chance for Indiana to have kind of a a
- 25:40get right game, it's that then they host Minnesota.
- 25:44That'll be fairly decent. I mean, PJ Fleck obviously
- 25:47coaches that team very well. Then they host USC on November
- 25:5214th. So they get a buy before they
- 25:55host USC and they kind of get the benefit.
- 25:58Does USC farewell in cold weather or not?
- 26:01Because it'll be November and it's going to be chilly here in
- 26:04Indy at that time. And also, that might be the big
- 26:08noon kickoff game for Fox. More than likely.
- 26:10Those those teams will both be high ranked in Indiana Big 10
- 26:14game, a noon start, 9:00 AM West Coast time.
- 26:18Yeah, it's rough. And then they then they go to
- 26:21Washington the following week and then they end the year
- 26:24hosting Purdue. So I mean, their schedule is is
- 26:28more than manageable for them to, I would say even if they
- 26:33have maybe one more loss thrown in there, that they're not only
- 26:37still viable for the College Football Playoffs because of the
- 26:40loss to Ohio State, but they're I would think for sure
- 26:43contenders at least for I would say the Big 10 championship.
- 26:48Now, Iowa, as you mentioned, I think Iowa's kind of that third
- 26:51team thrown in there that nobody's really talking about.
- 26:55They might sneak in there just because of maybe having the
- 26:58tiebreaker over Indiana. I don't know how how great those
- 27:04tiebreakers go into, but I and I think part of it might come down
- 27:10to does Iowa beat Minnesota and if they do, by how much?
- 27:15Same with Washington because they basically faced the same
- 27:17opponents. They faced Michigan, they faced
- 27:19Ohio State. They also lost, they faced
- 27:22Washington, Minnesota and Purdue.
- 27:25So I mean, those are the ones that they all have in common.
- 27:27So I think depending on how Iowa does will depend if I think to
- 27:31me if they're able to get in. But if Ohio State drops any of
- 27:35these games because of Julian Zayn being out, maybe we have an
- 27:38Iowa versus Indiana Big 10 championship, which I think
- 27:41would be cool. No, no, definitely.
- 27:43It would definitely be different.
- 27:45It'll be it'll be definitely good, good.
- 27:46Good to watch for a change and not see Ohio State in that game
- 27:49because, yeah, well, Ohio State's a is is a blue blood.
- 27:52You know, they're top five all the time.
- 27:54But you know, I'm I'm sick of seeing them.
- 27:55Let's see someone else let's someone else get old piece of
- 27:57the pot. You know, that's why it was so
- 27:58great to see Indiana do well last year.
- 28:01I think Indiana's biggest hiccup, though, not not not
- 28:04hiccup. Biggest challenge is going to
- 28:06the big house this week because, yes, they're coming off a loss
- 28:09and Michigan's been hot and cold, but Michigan plays well at
- 28:13home no matter what. And you know, it's a big game,
- 28:16spotlight game. I think the line is like 6 1/2.
- 28:20I don't know if I do bet the game I might take Michigan and
- 28:24the points just because it's in Michigan and not sure if Indiana
- 28:27can, you know, blow them out. You know, especially coming off,
- 28:30coming off this loss, being tight, knowing OK, we have to
- 28:33win, we have to win. We can't afford a second loss.
- 28:36Michigan's, you know, playing just is going to play the string
- 28:39out and they're they're playing for Ohio State in a couple
- 28:41weeks, obviously. So.
- 28:42Oh, absolutely. It's yeah.
- 28:44It it it'll, it'll be, it'll be another good one this Saturday
- 28:47for sure. Another good new Big Noon kick
- 28:49off on Fox. Absolutely.
- 28:51And we'll and we'll get to that here in a little bit.
- 28:54Let's talk. We don't have to go super in
- 28:56depth in this one because even as a LSU fan, it's really not a
- 29:00whole lot to talk about with this game.
- 29:01LSU beats Mississippi, Mississippi State now, albeit
- 29:04that's with without Camario Taylor.
- 29:06That's how without Mississippi State star running back like it
- 29:13starts with ABI. Think both of them are both
- 29:15well, I think is his name. I think that's his name, yeah.
- 29:18Nonetheless, though, they beat them 31 to nothing.
- 29:22It was kind of nice because for once, Sam Levitt didn't turn the
- 29:26flipping ball over this whole entire game.
- 29:28And he's had at least one turnover every single game so
- 29:32far, 31 to 38289, four touchdowns.
- 29:38And it was kind of interesting to see Mississippi State, dude,
- 29:42every time there is a third or fourth down, they were going for
- 29:45it. They were like, we got nothing
- 29:46to lose at this point. Like we have to try to make this
- 29:49work. They were going for it and they
- 29:51were getting close to their kid, their quarterback Puckett, He
- 29:54had a massive run, which is why, you know, they have 170 yards on
- 29:58the ground. It makes it look a whole lot
- 30:00more inflated than than what the actual game shows.
- 30:04But but overall, though, I mean, this this is one it was kind of
- 30:08a get right game for LSU. They actually go to Auburn this
- 30:12coming week before they get a buy.
- 30:16And then of course when they come out of the buy, they get
- 30:18the toughest game. They get their toughest stretch
- 30:20of having to. They host Alabama, they host
- 30:24Texas, they go to Tennessee, and then they end the year having to
- 30:27face Arkansas. So they also have a tough
- 30:30stretch of games coming up that they have to deal with.
- 30:32They are very Jekyll and high because as you see, they're five
- 30:35and O and home O and two on the road.
- 30:37And. Three out of their last five
- 30:39games are on the road. So even, I mean, you know, the
- 30:42the hardest game to go to is I think is Tennessee.
- 30:45Obviously going into Tennessee. I mean, Auburn's no, no, no walk
- 30:48in the park. But you know, Auburn coming off
- 30:50a big win against Georgia, you know, they're going to be yeah,
- 30:55they'll be fired up. But there there could be, you
- 30:58know, the the come down off of that and you know, LSUSLSUS
- 31:01going to come in there strong off a 31 nothing win.
- 31:04But yeah, having to go to Tennessee because you know, the
- 31:06way Tennessee was able to beat Alabama at home and that LSU
- 31:10Tennessee game I think is going to is going to make or break
- 31:12their season if you ask. Me.
- 31:14I think so. And I mean.
- 31:15They go three, they go 3 losses, they're out of the play offs.
- 31:18I think so and and it's kind of funny too.
- 31:20And we'll, and I'll probably, well, actually we'll, we can go
- 31:24ahead and move on to the next one because it'll tie into this.
- 31:28I don't know if you watch Paul Finebaum or not, but Paul
- 31:30Finebaum predicted the Alabama Crimson Tide schedule back in
- 31:36August and he had them actually losing against, against Georgia
- 31:42and Tennessee. He predicts them winning this
- 31:46week against Texas A&M, but then losing to LSU and finishing the
- 31:53year 9 and three because he predicts that they went out from
- 31:56that point. But he's been perfect on the
- 31:59year so far, which is kind of crazy.
- 32:02I, I truly think that Alabama game, if they, if they escape
- 32:06this game from Auburn with a win, they're sitting there six
- 32:09and two. I think that Alabama game is the
- 32:13is the determining factor because.
- 32:15For both teams. For both teams, because both
- 32:17teams will come in with two losses.
- 32:19You can't afford 1/3? You know game day is going to be
- 32:24down there. Game day is more than likely
- 32:26going to be down there and for I think more for Alabama than
- 32:31LSULSU at least has a couple more chances.
- 32:35If as long as Texas stays ranked, there's there's a chance
- 32:39that, you know, LSU maybe sneaks in if they're able to get a
- 32:43quality win against Texas or Tennessee, either one.
- 32:48But and but you know, Alabama, they don't have many other
- 32:53chances after that. So let's say they hypothetically
- 32:55lose to LSU. These are their last five games.
- 32:59Texas A&M, they go to LSU and Death Valley, to Vanderbilt, to
- 33:05Chattanooga, and then they host Auburn.
- 33:08Like, there's not a whole lot of chances if you lose out at that
- 33:11point to say, yeah, we have a quality win.
- 33:14Against who? They have quality losses, but.
- 33:17Yeah, you know, yeah, you have quality loss against Georgia,
- 33:20Tennessee and hypothetically against LSU.
- 33:23Like that's it. Like your best all on the road?
- 33:27Like your best win would be Kentucky and that was on the
- 33:30road and that was at the beginning of the season.
- 33:32Exactly. You know, it's, it's
- 33:34interesting, all all this chaos this weekend.
- 33:36You know, it, it's brought up the argument of of the 2014
- 33:39playoff. And I don't know if we're going
- 33:41to touch on that later. But basically it's showing me
- 33:45that even though they're saying, oh, you know, with 20, with 24
- 33:49teams, you know, how good are these bottom ranked teams going
- 33:52to be the the teams 18 through 24 or whatever, and how are they
- 33:55going to have a chance to actually win?
- 33:57Well, it's showing you that there's a lot, even though you
- 34:00have your blue bloods, there's a lot more variety and parity in
- 34:06college football than people think because of these upsets,
- 34:08because of these big teams, like losing at home or being able to
- 34:14beat an A rank team at home or even a rank team on the low on
- 34:17the road. You know, the Kentucky beating
- 34:18LSUA couple weeks ago, big win there.
- 34:21You know, it's, it's, it's, it's interesting to show and it's
- 34:24obviously proving that the transfer portal is basically has
- 34:29changed college football. I mean, it's, it's, it's, it's
- 34:32crazy to see, you know, and, you know, it's, and I also find that
- 34:35hard, you know, almost hard to identify with some of these
- 34:38teams because you're not seeing the same guy there year after
- 34:41year. You're like, well, who's it
- 34:42going to be this year? I mean, the only one, the only
- 34:44one I can really identify was is Chamblisset, Ole Miss, because
- 34:47he's been, he said. He's been there forever, you
- 34:49know, and especially in the SEC, you know, and then Stockton has
- 34:52been at Georgia for a couple years now.
- 34:54Yeah, and honestly, the the only thing I have two issues with the
- 35:00the whole 24 teams. The positive is it does bring
- 35:06about 99% relevancy to the AP top 25.
- 35:11For all the flaws that it has, for all the weird voting things
- 35:15that they have, like when Mississippi State got blown out
- 35:18by Bama, the one dude moved them up to like 10 because of a
- 35:22blowout loss is like I've I've never understood this whole
- 35:25like, man, you got your ass kicked by the best.
- 35:28Like God, you got to move up for that.
- 35:30I'm like, I don't I don't understand their logic with
- 35:32that. But at the same time too, it
- 35:37does suck because if you're the 2015 right, first team to lose,
- 35:42like first team to just. It's like, it's like the bubble
- 35:45with the with, with March Madness being on the ball.
- 35:48You know it. But and it's going to be
- 35:50interesting how once they finally finalize the format and
- 35:54how they do it and they're saying, oh, it's going to make
- 35:56the the the regular season irrelevant, irrelevant.
- 36:00And I completely disagree with that.
- 36:01And the reason I say that is because I think having home
- 36:05field advantage in the play offs is going to be huge, especially
- 36:08if you're a cold weather school and you've got a West Coast team
- 36:11coming to you. And, and, and look, in the play
- 36:14offs in Indiana went to Notre Dame and they they got killed,
- 36:17you know, because I mean, yeah, Notre Dame was better, but it
- 36:19was also, I mean, it was freezing, it was snowing the
- 36:22weather home. These home games, the 1st 2
- 36:25rounds at this at the Asheville schools are going to be huge
- 36:29because these schools playing at home are going to be, it's going
- 36:31to be a big thing. Their fans are going to be riled
- 36:33up. The weather is going to be a big
- 36:34thing. It's, it's going to, it's going
- 36:37to work. And you know, obviously it's a
- 36:38money grab for ESPN and college football.
- 36:41But at the same point, I really think teams are going to be
- 36:43like, all right, we want to get that hungry or we want to get
- 36:45that by because we want to be healthy.
- 36:47So you're going to want to finish one through 8 rather than
- 36:509 or 10, you know. So it's going to make the the
- 36:53regular season more relevant because those quality wins are
- 36:56going to factor into the rankings, I think.
- 36:59Well, yes, but here's what I would also say.
- 37:02And and I think we do benefit somewhat because then we can
- 37:05have more out of conference game schedule because then you can
- 37:08have like an Alabama versus Ohio State and it's like OK, we can
- 37:12afford to take a potential extra loss or two and then we can
- 37:15still get in. Here's my only thing that I
- 37:18would I would push back on. I was more OK with like 16 teams
- 37:24because if you look at last year, you could have made the
- 37:26argument like if Notre Dame got in, who knows what Notre Dame
- 37:30is. Same with BYU.
- 37:32If you're the 20th ranked team, I'm really not looking at you
- 37:36like man, if they get hot, they're going to make a run.
- 37:40Like and I'll, I'll pull up the the rankings right now.
- 37:44Just so just for like a hypothetical, if the season
- 37:47ended right now. So you've got Wake Forest at 17,
- 37:53LSU at 18, Texas at 19, Florida at 20, Boise State at 21, Mizzou
- 37:58at 22, SMU at 23, Northwestern at 24.
- 38:02And then Arizona would technically be the first team
- 38:04out because they were sitting there at 25.
- 38:06Right. So Boise State's, Boise State's
- 38:08a Group of Five team that gets in.
- 38:10Yep. They're the Group of Five team.
- 38:12I mean, Mizzou could, but I mean, they just got absolutely
- 38:15destroyed by, you know, Ole Miss SMU.
- 38:20Kevin Jennings turns the ball over way too much for me to sit
- 38:24here and be like, I think SMU would be competitive.
- 38:26And don't get me wrong, Northwestern is kind of having a
- 38:28little bit of a Cinderella run right now.
- 38:31But you know, they're not a team that if I put them up against
- 38:34like Utah or if I put them up against the Georgia, like I'm
- 38:37going to sit here by hole. This is going to be a game like
- 38:40no, that's going to be a a slaughter.
- 38:41That's the only thing I would sit here and say like, oh man,
- 38:44if the number 22 team gets in like they're if they get hot,
- 38:47like it's like, no, I don't. I personally don't see that.
- 38:51Like if you go to 16, like you've got the 6th.
- 38:55So obviously Miami, BYU, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Georgia,
- 38:59Indiana will miss Texas Tech, UCLA and Utah.
- 39:01That's your top 10 then Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama,
- 39:05Houston, Iowa, and USC if you would have 16 teams.
- 39:10Well, and I guess actually USC would be the first one out if
- 39:12they include the group of 6. So technically Boise State would
- 39:15be thrown in there instead. That would still be a pretty
- 39:18damn good playoff and that would still be pretty interesting all.
- 39:21But I, I think some of these teams are underranked and
- 39:23overranked. I think Texas Test is definitely
- 39:25overranked because yes they are because they did.
- 39:28Not look like Texas Tech of last year.
- 39:30By the. Imagination.
- 39:32But if you look at the 24 and it's interesting, yeah, most of
- 39:35the first round games aren't that good, but the way they have
- 39:37it set up, it would be like 99 versus 24/10/23.
- 39:41But if you keep going down, you have a first round game of LSU
- 39:45going to Iowa. That's a hell of a ball game.
- 39:48That's a hell of a ball game. That would that.
- 39:51'D be a very ugly ball game, honestly.
- 39:55Because they bet the under on that one.
- 39:57That would be so ugly. But it but it but it'd be it'd
- 40:01be a good watch. And then you have a Texas going
- 40:05to Houston Interstate. Interesting, you know, so there
- 40:09will be some some interesting first round games.
- 40:12You know, and then the teams, obviously the first eight teams
- 40:15getting the bye week, it'll definitely favor the bye week
- 40:18teams because of playing at their home stadiums.
- 40:21And then the the, the quarter, you know, then the next round,
- 40:24then they go to the bowl games and stuff like that.
- 40:28But, and they're also saying it's going to eliminate the
- 40:30conference championships, which I'm totally fine.
- 40:33I don't see a purpose in that. I'm saying I'm not opposed to
- 40:37that. It's a money grab is what it is.
- 40:39And I would say make if they are going to try to copy like the
- 40:43NCAA, like the basketball tournament, you know, format of
- 40:46how they're doing it, make it just Co champions, you know, the
- 40:49regular season. Like, hey, if you win, you know,
- 40:52if you go let's see, there's nine games and like the SEC and
- 40:56the Big 10. If you go like 817 and two and
- 40:59there's two teams and they're, you know, if you want to do a
- 41:01tiebreaker, like a coin flip, sure.
- 41:03But otherwise, yeah, you, you guys are.
- 41:05Well, they'll, they'll put tiebreaker parameters like head,
- 41:07head to head, you know, common opponents the same way the NFL
- 41:11does, you know, they'll, they'll put those kind of things into
- 41:14it, you know, But yeah, it'll when, when and if and when, if,
- 41:18when it happens. It's going to definitely be
- 41:20interesting to see the process and, and I definitely think this
- 41:24year's playoff is going to be good because if we're looking at
- 41:26the rankings right now, you've got an ACC team and a Big 12
- 41:28team as 1-2, but are they going to stay there?
- 41:31You know the the game of the year right now is going to be
- 41:34the Miami Notre Dame game in a couple.
- 41:35Weeks Oh, yeah, absolutely. Which Speaking of, let's let's
- 41:39talk about the the Catholics versus the Mormons.
- 41:43And the the Mormons got to soak in their win in more ways than
- 41:47one of being able to beat Notre Dame with a little bit of
- 41:52controversial help with the refs, especially, you know, at
- 41:55the end of the game. And and of course, I I always
- 41:58have mixed feelings on that because as as a fan, I see why
- 42:01you'd be upset. But at the same time, you've got
- 42:0460 minutes to beat that team. Refs are included no matter what
- 42:08you do. Like you had 60 minutes to
- 42:10figure it out. You couldn't do it to say, I'll
- 42:14pull up some of the some of the stats and whatnot.
- 42:17I mean, overall these teams were pretty damn similar.
- 42:20You know, BYU was just able to capitalize more as far as the
- 42:23turnovers go. 3rd down conversion, big factor.
- 42:28That and it did. It played a massive factor and
- 42:32but but I'll be honest though, and this this is probably going
- 42:35to be a little bit of a bias against the Cougars.
- 42:41I have never been very high on BYU because looking at them over
- 42:47the years, they they never live up to like all of these over
- 42:52expectations and the over hype that everybody gives them.
- 42:56Like I've seen them rank BYU in the top ten several times before
- 43:01and they poop the bed every single time they do it and it
- 43:06happens. And it's like, I, I have never
- 43:09bought into the BYU hype. And I'll be honest, I don't
- 43:14really buy into it now for a couple of reasons.
- 43:17One, as many people argue, Notre Dame's a bit overrated.
- 43:22Like they have a, they have a cupcake schedule.
- 43:24They yes, they have power for wins and they beat Michigan
- 43:28State, they beat Wisconsin, they beat Purdue, like you know, and
- 43:32they beat North Carolina like you have quality wins and you
- 43:36beat other powerful opponents, which is better than what
- 43:39they've done recently. But the first, you know, true
- 43:42ranked opponent that you've had, you do kind of poop the bed
- 43:46again, just like you did last year when you lost to Texas A&M
- 43:49and then you lost to Miami, who you'll face again this, you
- 43:52know, this year. So to you after I guess post
- 43:57this game, do you look at either one of these teams think hey,
- 44:00they they could, they're built to make an actual national title
- 44:03round? As far OK, as far as BYU goes,
- 44:08you know, it was a big win, big win for their program.
- 44:11They haven't really had a hard schedule.
- 44:12They don't really have a hard schedule.
- 44:14They're they're only their their next toughest game is going to
- 44:16go on November 7th when they go to Utah.
- 44:18So that's like, you know, the big the big in state rivalry,
- 44:21the. The Holy War.
- 44:22Yeah, the holy war, you know, you know, beautiful country out
- 44:26there in Utah, by the way, I really.
- 44:27Already got there. I love Utah.
- 44:29I went out there a couple years ago.
- 44:31Love, Utah? Really, really nice.
- 44:32Really. Nice, maybe have a helmet for
- 44:34the utes. Oh, there you go.
- 44:36Yeah, there it is. Cool, awesome.
- 44:38But yeah, I, I, I mean, look, you know, they, they had a great
- 44:41game, but in general, I don't know if they're the number two
- 44:45team in the country for sure, but I don't know if Notre Dame's
- 44:48in #8 team in the country because they haven't played
- 44:50anybody good and their season's going to come down to the to the
- 44:53Miami game. Although it is in Notre Dame,
- 44:55it's going to be a lot colder there, so it's weather will
- 44:58definitely have a big factor in that.
- 45:00Notre Dame's going to want the revenge for last year, not only
- 45:02for losing, but for about making the playoff.
- 45:05And then, you know, BYU wanted the revenge of this because they
- 45:08were supposed to play BYU in that bowl game, which never been
- 45:10turned down. So that was that was a big, a
- 45:13big motivation for them. But in the end, will these two
- 45:16teams end up in the top eight in the playoff?
- 45:19I I don't think so. I mean, Notre Dame's got got the
- 45:22bodies they've got, you know, the, the physically, you know,
- 45:25they're physically a bigger, better team, but I don't think
- 45:28much of their quarterback. I do love their coach, though.
- 45:30I think free, you know, Freeman's a Freeman's a great
- 45:32coach, but I don't think much of their quarterback.
- 45:35I don't really see the quality in his play.
- 45:37I don't see what, you know, what he brings to the table.
- 45:40So I mean, Notre Dame to me is going to have to really, OK, get
- 45:45over this loss and go ahead and beat, you know, beat up.
- 45:49You know, they play Navy in two weeks and then they're home from
- 45:51Miami. So, you know, they'll have their
- 45:53little scrimmage against Navy and then they'll be ready for
- 45:56Miami. And then, you know, if they
- 45:58lose, then if they, But even if they lose, I think they might
- 46:01get in because the committee's going to want to make up for
- 46:03last year. They're going to, they're going
- 46:05to, they're going to want them in.
- 46:06They do have kind of a redemption shot as long as as
- 46:11long as SMU stays. Ranked.
- 46:14Then they have at least another shot of, Hey, we beat a good and
- 46:19competitive team that is ranked. So I I do agree.
- 46:22And I, and again, kind of the other thing is, like I said, as
- 46:26we sit here and kind of look at it and, and as much as these
- 46:28will fluctuate, we don't know who the last teams that are
- 46:31going to potentially be in are. So maybe that's the other thing
- 46:34that kind of factors in of like, well, yeah, you, you played a
- 46:38couple teams, you lost and you didn't really play anybody else
- 46:41kind of thing. Right.
- 46:42But we. Will well, Miami doesn't have
- 46:45that. I mean, doesn't have that easy
- 46:46to schedule because they you know, they they play at home
- 46:48this week against Pittsburgh and that's a noon game.
- 46:51It's gonna be hot. So, you know, the weather would
- 46:53definitely have that. Then they have to go to Carolina
- 46:56and the Fighting Belichicks and they haven't looked that.
- 47:00I can't believe I said the Fighting Belichicks.
- 47:02They. Haven't Chapel Bill?
- 47:03Exactly. Chapel Bill.
- 47:04And they haven't looked that bad.
- 47:06So they have the UNC game before the Notre Dame game, both Rd.
- 47:10games. So there is a definite mountain
- 47:12for them. And then they play Duke,
- 47:15Virginia Tech and Boston College all at home.
- 47:17So they get past these next three and I think they're home
- 47:20free for sure for the number one seed in the tournament.
- 47:23But I'll be honest, I I think Virginia Tech will give them a
- 47:26bit of a run because I mean, don't be wrong.
- 47:28I'm not expecting, you know, Virginia Tech and James Franklin
- 47:30to make a run, but he definitely has them in a better spot than
- 47:34you see Virginia Tech in a long, long time.
- 47:37Back when James Franklin, that is James Franklin, and he
- 47:41doesn't win. He does not win the big game.
- 47:43He just never has. Absolutely, he poops the bed and
- 47:48and it currently isn't Sands. I mean, obviously we're we're a
- 47:51month away from this game because it's on November 21st.
- 47:55The match up predictor right now gives Miami a 94% chance of
- 47:59winning according to ESP NS Analytics.
- 48:04But let let's move on real quick though to some of the other
- 48:07games. We'll just kind of give some
- 48:09quick predictions on them. We did talk about it a little
- 48:12bit. Indiana travels to Michigan to
- 48:15take on the Wolverines. Obviously a big new kick off on
- 48:18Fox. Who do you have winning in this
- 48:21game? I like Indiana, but I like them
- 48:24close. OK.
- 48:26So you're probably, so like you said, you're going to take the
- 48:28points because it's that all in Michigan.
- 48:30I would definitely. Take the 6 1/2 an inch, I think.
- 48:32I think the line's 6 1/2 now, at least it was yesterday.
- 48:34But I haven't, I haven't. I haven't put the money down
- 48:36yet. I'll wait for the last minute
- 48:37and see what the what happens with the line does.
- 48:39Say 'cause they do make a lot of adjustments between now and now
- 48:42and then. It's IU by 7 right now.
- 48:46OK, yeah, I would definitely, I would definitely take the
- 48:48sevens. That's yeah.
- 48:50It's going to be a one score game in my opinion.
- 48:55So then we have LSU going to Auburn to take on Tigers versus
- 49:00Tigers in a Tiger Bowl, also at noon on ABC as LSU by 7 1/2 as
- 49:06it sits right now. I think Auburn, even though
- 49:10coming off with the Georgia game is on a high and like, all
- 49:13right, we beat Georgia now we got LSU coming in.
- 49:16I think LSU is on a roll right now.
- 49:19And I think there he, I think Kiffin knows, OK, we cannot lose
- 49:23another game. We cannot lose another game on
- 49:25the road especially. So I think LSU will go in there,
- 49:29go in there strong and dominate this game.
- 49:31And I think the other thing too, when I, I don't know if other
- 49:34LSU fans feel the same way or not, I'll, I'll have to ask
- 49:37around. I think now that it's post old
- 49:39miss and the whole stress and all of that is over, they can
- 49:44look at the rest of the season to see how the rest of the
- 49:46season, you know, moves forward from there.
- 49:50Well, MJI, appreciate you tuning in.
- 49:52Ma'am. How are you she?
- 49:54So MJ is a huge Penn State fan. Oh wow, it's.
- 49:58Penn State, I'm sorry, say she She has not commented much on my
- 50:03shows this year. And.
- 50:05That I don't think that's for lack of her watching and I don't
- 50:07think that's still for her lack of love for the Nittany Lions,
- 50:10but it's it's just been a rough year.
- 50:13Do you know, for years when I was younger, I thought they were
- 50:15called the nifty lines, not the nifty.
- 50:19I grew up. I'm like, wait a minute, they
- 50:21were called Nitney. Well, and I'm not gonna lie,
- 50:23when I first heard that name, it's like, oh, we're the Nitney
- 50:26line. I was like, is this a British
- 50:27thing? Like what the hell is Nitney?
- 50:29Like what? What is this?
- 50:31I know. One game that unfortunately
- 50:35isn't going to be as big as I thought it was going to be at
- 50:37the beginning of the year. Texas A&M has to roll into
- 50:40Tuscaloosa against more than likely what is a very pissed off
- 50:44Alabama. Crimson Tide coming off of
- 50:46back-to-back losses for the first time since I believe they
- 50:49said the 2013 season. So it's been a long time.
- 50:55The current line for that Alabama by 14.
- 50:58Which, yeah, they're going to cover that for sure.
- 51:00There's no way. Alabama's going to go hard.
- 51:02They're not going to get blown out.
- 51:05They're pretty nifty. That's yes, you guys are.
- 51:08Or at least you are MJ. At least you are.
- 51:10Man, Yeah, no, Alabama's going to go in, going to go in there.
- 51:13It's like, all right, 3rd home. We just got beat by Tennessee.
- 51:16We can't afford another loss either.
- 51:18We've got LSU coming up. We got a basically this game is
- 51:22going to be a. We need to get ready for LSU is
- 51:25what it's going to be for them. So they're going to go.
- 51:26They're Texas A&M. Yeah.
- 51:28Have fun, enjoy. Yeah.
- 51:29I I feel bad for them and MM and Marcel Reed because I feel like
- 51:33Marcel Reed has gotten a big, big brunt of this, which I get
- 51:37it, he's the quarterback, but I don't know if it's necessarily
- 51:40deserved this one little ACC match up.
- 51:44You've got Virginia Tech going to Clemson and as it stands
- 51:48right now, this line is it's Clemson by 2 1/2, which is a
- 51:56little surprise. So that means they also believe,
- 51:59you know, James Franklin and them might be a little bit close
- 52:02when it comes to taking on Dabo swinging the Tigers, who, albeit
- 52:06they're not, they don't look great.
- 52:07They do have the benefit of, you know, they kind of had the
- 52:11scheduling break and honestly, even though the the score was 41
- 52:15to 13, they did play Miami hard. I mean, they played them
- 52:18extremely hard. Again, the score doesn't reflect
- 52:21that. But when you look at the stats
- 52:22and you watch the game, Clemson did give them a run for their
- 52:25money. So maybe they're kind of turning
- 52:27the turning the tide here and they got a, you know, kind of
- 52:31cupcake win against Charleston South of 37 and nothing.
- 52:35So maybe they come into this a little bit and I would say
- 52:39refresh, but a little bit more refined and fine-tuned.
- 52:42Usually in a game like this, I would say take the better coach,
- 52:46although it's kind of hard to say that about Dabo right now,
- 52:49but my radar would lean a little more towards Dabo than James
- 52:54Franklin. See, MJ says the Nittany Lion is
- 52:56a fictional creation based on real mountain lions, or Cougars,
- 53:00to historically roam central Pennsylvania around Mount
- 53:03Nittany, OK, near Penn State's campus.
- 53:06Penn State's unofficial early mascot was a work mule named Old
- 53:09Coley who helped haul limestone to build the campus.
- 53:14Well, now we know. We learned.
- 53:16Something today all. Right, Absolutely shout out to
- 53:19MJ for helping us and helping. People learn.
- 53:21All right. Cool.
- 53:22'Cause I, I did, I thought at first it was like a British
- 53:24thing. I'm like, that was.
- 53:26But now that makes a whole lot more sense.
- 53:29I know we talked about this a little bit, but we've got Ole
- 53:32Miss travelling to Austin to take on Texas and kind of the
- 53:36big question, you know, what Texas team do we get?
- 53:39Do we get one that does have a fairly dominant defense and just
- 53:43the offense is a question mark? And then on the other end, you
- 53:45know, while Ole Miss, their offense can be prolific when
- 53:51Trinidad Chambliss is really, you know, rolling it hot, their
- 53:55defense has been a little bit more of a liability.
- 53:59So who do you and the line for this?
- 54:01Because I, of course, moved off of it.
- 54:04This one is going to be a late game.
- 54:06You've got the line is believe it or not, they have Texas
- 54:10favored by three. Because it's the home field as
- 54:13you get 3 points for the home field.
- 54:14That's the only reason. If this game was on a neutral
- 54:16side, it'd be a picking game for sure.
- 54:19You know, this is this is an interesting game.
- 54:20This is a tale of two quarterbacks kind of game.
- 54:22It's also the tale of two defensive.
- 54:24We talked about old miss defense getting better as the season's
- 54:26gone along. Tessa's defense has always
- 54:28played well this year. You know, if in practice, I'm
- 54:33sure Sarkeesian is basically having like whoever's playing
- 54:38Chris Trinidad Chambliss on, you know, you know, when you put,
- 54:40when you play the spot spot and you spot the quarterback in, in,
- 54:43in practice, that's, that's the way they need to prepare for
- 54:46this game. You know, because Chambliss is
- 54:48to me is The X Factor of the of this game because he's looked
- 54:52really good. I think if he keeps it up, I
- 54:55don't know if he'll win the Heisman, but he'll he in my
- 54:58opinion, is probably the best quarterback coming out since
- 55:00Dante Moore. So if Moore didn't get hurt,
- 55:02then it might have been more. But I think it's definitely
- 55:04Chambliss right now as far as, you know, pro prospect and pro
- 55:08pro abilities. You know, a night game in Austin
- 55:13should be interesting for Ole Miss.
- 55:15But Ole Miss has, you know, been in these kind of games, handled
- 55:18the pressure. Chambliss, you know, is like
- 55:20what, 72 now? So he's old enough to know to
- 55:22know what it's like. Should know better anyway.
- 55:25I'm sorry I'm making fun of this, but I shouldn't do that,
- 55:27man. But anyway, yeah, give me Ole
- 55:31Miss in this game. OK.
- 55:33OK. One that I think will be
- 55:36interesting just because honestly, at the beginning
- 55:39during the offseason, I expected this coach to get fired and that
- 55:42was Luke Fickle for Wisconsin just because of how poorly
- 55:45Wisconsin has done. But he has Wisconsin actually in
- 55:49a really good situation right now.
- 55:51I believe they're five and one, no four and two, sorry, because
- 55:55they did lose to UCLA what ended up being a 17, seven game.
- 56:00But they would good against just about everybody they faced, even
- 56:04competitive against Notre Dame. Obviously, the second-half of
- 56:06the Notre Dame game did not agree with that.
- 56:09But they got their first big kind of upset win against Penn
- 56:12State. And believe it or not, even even
- 56:15the betters have a bit of respect for Wisconsin because
- 56:18it's a home game they have. They have USC only favored by
- 56:23three as it sits right now. Yeah, did you see any of the
- 56:28Wisconsin UCLA game on Saturday at all?
- 56:31I did not. Yeah, Wisconsin is not on the
- 56:35same level as UCLA or USC offensively, in my opinion.
- 56:39And in this kind of game, I just looked at the weather in
- 56:44Madison, it's going to be 50 to 52° that night.
- 56:47Pleasant. That's how it can be in
- 56:49California. These California kids are not
- 56:51going to be cold. They're not going to be
- 56:53intimidated by the the red in Wisconsin.
- 56:56And even though my cousins are both Wisconsin alumni, sorry
- 57:00Heather, I got to go with the Trojans.
- 57:03Although I will say the Midwest 52 is different from the West
- 57:07Coast. 52° it. It is it is definitely it is
- 57:11definitely different, but I just think this Trojan team
- 57:13offensively cannot muscle this Wisconsin defense.
- 57:17And I mean, those are big boys. You know, those, those are
- 57:19cheese fed, grass fed boys. But no, give me the Trojans.
- 57:23OK. And then the last game that I
- 57:25feel like is actually getting the respect it deserves because
- 57:28apparently game day is going to stay in Utah for this game.
- 57:33You've got Houston travelling to Utah.
- 57:36And currently, the line right now is Utah by 6 1/2 against the
- 57:41Houston Cougars. That's a that's a big line.
- 57:44It's a big line. This Houston team is very
- 57:46underrated. I've seen a couple of their of
- 57:49their games. They're quick.
- 57:50They know how to move the ball. They're defensively, they're a
- 57:54little bit better than people think they are.
- 57:57Again, in Utah, you know, the the Big 12 is, is not that
- 58:01strong a conference as we've seen this year.
- 58:03You know, they've got a couple of good teams.
- 58:04I would say BYU and Utah but and Texas Tech we said is way
- 58:08overrated. And that was Houston's only
- 58:11lost. They only lost to them because
- 58:13they couldn't convert 2 point conversion.
- 58:14Exactly, exactly. So I like Houston to win, but I
- 58:18think I'm sorry, I like Utah to win, but I think Houston will
- 58:21cover. So if I would have bet this
- 58:23game, I probably won't bet this game, but I'll I would take
- 58:25Houston in the points here. And I am kind of surprised that
- 58:28they have this as late as they do and game day is going to be
- 58:30there because I'm like, I don't see, I don't see Kirk, Herb St.
- 58:34and Chris Fowler calling this game.
- 58:37Because no, they're going to, they're going to call whatever
- 58:38the 7:30 ABC game. Is yeah, it's like that's super
- 58:41late. Oh, that's Texas and Ole Miss is
- 58:44the 730 game. So.
- 58:45Yeah, her Herb, she's going to take his private jet and go to
- 58:47go down to Austin. Definitely.
- 58:49Yeah. But yeah, no, no, this this 10.
- 58:51I mean, I guess this is when it was scheduled, but I guess
- 58:53because of the way the rankings worked out this week, they were
- 58:56like, you know what, we're here, It's, it's 2 ranked teams, you
- 58:59know, the, the, the Texas story, I guess kind of they figured,
- 59:02let's, let's cover this other story, you know, and it's good
- 59:05because, you know, ESPN is all about the SEC.
- 59:07We know that because of their contract.
- 59:09But the fact that they're giving some the Big 12 a little bit of
- 59:11love for two weeks in a row is definitely good.
- 59:13Well, and it's cool because I think, I think they I highly
- 59:16doubt they have, but I feel like they've finally given the fans
- 59:20what they want of it's like we're not going to the same 4
- 59:23campuses basically like every single time.
- 59:26You know, we're going to other places.
- 59:28You know, they're they're kind of expanding their Rd. out.
- 59:30Like obviously they were in Provo, now they're going to be
- 59:32in Salt Lake City. Both super gorgeous.
- 59:35I'm glad that they're going to, you know, highlight that and,
- 59:38you know, really entertain that. But yeah, and I'm I'm excited.
- 59:41Like I said, I went out to Utah a couple years ago, loved it.
- 59:44I have a old supervisor, really good friend that he, he's from
- 59:48Utah, grew up rooting for the utes.
- 59:50Funny enough, got his degree from the University of
- 59:52Washington, though, and moved to Seattle for his wife before he
- 59:57joined the service. But he's part of the reason why
- 1:00:00I have the have the utes helmet up there is is for him because I
- 1:00:03was like, I need a little bit of a connection.
- 1:00:05I just like the utes like. They're.
- 1:00:07They're fun. They're a different program.
- 1:00:09And it was one of those. It's like, OK, I can kind of
- 1:00:11pick a team from each conference to be a fan of.
- 1:00:14So it's like the utes will be my, the utes will be my my PAC
- 1:00:1812 team. Now they of course moved into
- 1:00:20the Big 12. So now, now I got to look for a
- 1:00:24couple of Big 12 teams. So cool, now it, it should be a
- 1:00:29good week. Well, well, you know, I don't
- 1:00:30know if it won't be the chaos that this past week was
- 1:00:33definitely some some good, good rank, good rank versus ranked
- 1:00:36teams playing. That'll be some important games
- 1:00:39as far as the standing as far as playoff standings go.
- 1:00:42So, you know, another week in college football I've done, I've
- 1:00:44done pretty well betting on college football this year.
- 1:00:46So hopefully I can keep that string up for sure.
- 1:00:49I will say my my picks this past weekend though, they took a
- 1:00:53major hit. Yeah, usually.
- 1:00:56What was your record for this week?
- 1:00:57Usually pretty well. I'm about to pull it up.
- 1:01:00Hold on. If think if I remember right, it
- 1:01:02was like 13 and 13. It was bad, dude.
- 1:01:07You've ever gone 13 like that? Dude, It was, I was like, you've
- 1:01:11got to be kid like, yeah, 'cause I was like, I've never done that
- 1:01:14bad. Like I've gotten close.
- 1:01:16I was 14 and 14. My bad.
- 1:01:19Yeah, I was right at 500. And, and what kind of hurt me
- 1:01:25was of course, all the all the upsets I expected Wake Forest to
- 1:01:29go in and like dominate Cal. That didn't happen.
- 1:01:34And then it was like Nebraska versus Oregon.
- 1:01:36I was like, OK, Nebraska's up. There's only like 2 minutes
- 1:01:38left. And Dilly Riola said, you know
- 1:01:40what, I'm going to beat my old team.
- 1:01:41Hold on. And pulls out the.
- 1:01:43Pulls out the. That was a great ending.
- 1:01:45I saw a replay of that. That was crazy.
- 1:01:47So yeah, those those picks were a little bit rough, but I mean,
- 1:01:52I'm still OK on the season. I'm 97 and 54 so far in the.
- 1:01:56Season. If you were betting straight up
- 1:01:58you'd be ahead of the game, so you're doing good.
- 1:02:00Yeah, absolutely. I'm, I'm, you know, about two
- 1:02:03wins to everyone loss. It's like, OK, I'll, I'll take
- 1:02:06that. I can run with that.
- 1:02:07Not a bad way to go. Better than some of my NFL
- 1:02:09picks. Man, I don't even know how I'll
- 1:02:11wigger here my NFL picks. Right now, I had a bad NFL week,
- 1:02:14man. I I got Washington backdoor
- 1:02:16covered with me last night again.
- 1:02:17So I had Frisco -7 and they backdoor covered me.
- 1:02:20I was so pissed off. Say I have to look and see what
- 1:02:24my I need to look and see real quick what my NFL picks are so
- 1:02:28far for the for the year, because I feel like that's the
- 1:02:33only bad part. I don't.
- 1:02:34I guess I don't care for about the NFL this year is it's like
- 1:02:37every time I make a pick, I don't freaking know who's going
- 1:02:39to win or not. Right.
- 1:02:41Yeah, that's that's the NFL for you.
- 1:02:44Let's see, prior to this week I was 51 and 28.
- 1:02:48And now this week with these pics, I haven't moved that.
- 1:02:55I haven't moved that screenshot into there yet.
- 1:02:58It's 12345678. I'm at 59 and 456, yeah, 59 and
- 1:03:1134 in my NFL picks, so all. Right.
- 1:03:13That's pretty good. So, well, I started my usual $50
- 1:03:17on the Hard Rock Live app here in Florida and I'm up to 120, so
- 1:03:20I'm definitely doing pretty good this year.
- 1:03:22There you go. OK, so there.
- 1:03:23So there is some positives. Here we're going to Sizzler.
- 1:03:26There we go. There we go.

- 1:03:31appreciate having you. If you like, you'll check him

- 1:03:51show and check it out. But you know I'm I'm a sports
- 1:03:54geek and I don't know if any of you know what this hat is.
- 1:03:56If you do message Tony and they'll send you like AT shirt.
- 1:03:59No, you won't. Say, I don't even have those
- 1:04:02made yet, I'm not that popular. I know you sold me AT shirt.
- 1:04:06I do. I do still owe you AT Shirt.
- 1:04:07You're right. You wanted it Navy and you
- 1:04:09wanted it in I think in XL2XL2XL.
- 1:04:12That's right. That's why they call me the big
- 1:04:14dog. Yeah, it's alright.
- 1:04:15I'm still working on that one. It's like, it's like, I am.
- 1:04:17I forgot about that. Awesome.
- 1:04:21All right, well, I appreciate everybody tuning in.
- 1:04:23Big shout out to Military Broadcast Radio for helping
- 1:04:26sponsor this, helping give veterans boys.
- 1:04:27Definitely check them out. MJ, one of the ladies that was
- 1:04:31nice enough to comment and watch on the show.
- 1:04:33She has a great podcast where she talks about the conscious
- 1:04:36mind of positive thinking. I remember right, MJ, If I'm
- 1:04:39wrong, correct me on that, but she gives a very good idea of
- 1:04:43like a very holistic approach of how to deal with medication, how
- 1:04:47to deal with response. She does a lot and focuses a lot
- 1:04:49on mental health and how you approach that and how you deal
- 1:04:52with it, how it connects to a lot of the cosmic and universal
- 1:04:56energy out there. We have several others like into
- 1:04:59the weed. So if you ever love the tea, if
- 1:05:01you ever love like Gypsy Rose drama, anything like that,
- 1:05:04definitely check out into the weeds.

- 1:05:15dot US. And again, if you want great
- 1:05:17beard care products, if you think I have a great beard,
- 1:05:19which I'm a little bit biased, I think I do check out Gunfighter
- 1:05:23Beard Co. Like I said, he's Marine out of
- 1:05:24South Carolina. All his ingredients are natural
- 1:05:27and you don't even have to just use it for your beard.
- 1:05:28If you want a great, you know, skin care product, all of these
- 1:05:31beard oils, bombs, beard butters, all great for your skin
- 1:05:34too, as far as keeping you nourished, healthy, even having
- 1:05:37you, you know, keep kind of a younger look.
- 1:05:39Like if I shave this beard off, I might look 14 again.
