- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey friends, this is DJ Daniel. The following episode contains
- 0:03Speaker 1: spoilers for the show OBI one. If you would like
- 0:06Speaker 1: to avoid these spoilers, they begin five minutes and fifteen
- 0:10Speaker 1: seconds after I'm done speaking. The spoiler conversation ends at
- 0:14Speaker 1: fifteen minutes when the theme song kicks. In a special note,
- 0:17Speaker 1: these timings do not include the ads place at the
- 0:20Speaker 1: beginning of the episodes. Those are placed by region, and
- 0:23Speaker 1: therefore I do not know how long they may be,
- 0:26Speaker 1: So to keep it simple, five minutes and fifteen seconds
- 0:29Speaker 1: after I'm done speaking is when the spoilers begin, and
- 0:32Speaker 1: fifteen minutes after I Am done speaking is when the
- 0:35Speaker 1: theme song begins. If you want to hear the conversation
- 0:37Speaker 1: spoilers at all, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show. Wait,
- 0:41Speaker 1: so how do we talk about this without any spoilers? Okay,
- 0:46Speaker 1: so you got to be in Star Wars. That's really exciting,
- 0:49Speaker 1: ABI one. Okay, I got to be in an episode
- 0:52Speaker 1: of OBI one and you get to talk about let's
- 0:55Speaker 1: talk about seeing your name in the start with the
- 0:58Speaker 1: Star Wars background. Very exciting. It was very exciting, and um,
- 1:03Speaker 1: I'm not in person as myself, I can say I'm
- 1:06Speaker 1: a creature. Okay, that's not really a spoiler, and we
- 1:10Speaker 1: can talk about how that was really cool because the
- 1:12Speaker 1: way the creatures designed it was a puppet UM with
- 1:16Speaker 1: a person inside and then two puppeteers using UM. It
- 1:22Speaker 1: had like seventy servos in its head and there's two
- 1:25Speaker 1: different puppeteers using like RC remotes that are moving. All
- 1:28Speaker 1: the features of the seventy servos in its faces are
- 1:32Speaker 1: gears that operate the puppet. Yeah, they're like little motors
- 1:36Speaker 1: and UM and and this, you know, the different tents,
- 1:40Speaker 1: the tentacles and the eyebrows and you know, UM and
- 1:43Speaker 1: UM and then and then the way it's rigged is
- 1:46Speaker 1: that I wear this headpiece I posted on in my
- 1:48Speaker 1: Instagram if you're curious what it looks like. And when
- 1:50Speaker 1: I talk UM, the jaw moves. And so that was
- 1:54Speaker 1: what was so cool about UM getting to do it.
- 1:57Speaker 1: It wasn't you know, I would have I would have
- 1:58Speaker 1: flipped out if it was just a voiceover assignment. UM,
- 2:01Speaker 1: But I got to be on set. You're you had
- 2:04Speaker 1: the character, had your mannerisms in your face. Even though
- 2:11Speaker 1: it did it looked nothing like you, you know what
- 2:15Speaker 1: I mean, But it still felt like you you know
- 2:19Speaker 1: what I mean? And that's what that's what makes that
- 2:22Speaker 1: so cool, you know, because it's like you're acting. You're
- 2:25Speaker 1: acting with somebody else's face kind of, but your face
- 2:32Speaker 1: still shines through through it, you know what I mean?
- 2:34Speaker 1: And your and because your voice is different, Like there's
- 2:36Speaker 1: so many things that were really spectacular about this for me. One,
- 2:41Speaker 1: your voice is different, but you're still telling the story
- 2:44Speaker 1: so well. You play us a pro Empire character. But
- 2:51Speaker 1: that's a bit of a spoiler, isn't it, Joel, Not
- 2:54Speaker 1: really the line of it. We got a lot of
- 2:57Speaker 1: tweets asking how does Donald feel? People were really worried
- 3:00Speaker 1: about the friendship. Yes, well I know I saw that
- 3:05Speaker 1: on my Instagram too, because I don't read Twitter anymore.
- 3:07Speaker 1: But Donald, um all our fans because they know this
- 3:11Speaker 1: is your fantasy. I saw fun The funniest version of
- 3:13Speaker 1: it was um someone wrote, did you and Donald accidentally
- 3:16Speaker 1: mix up your whiteboards? I hope I'm directing something real good,
- 3:25Speaker 1: real soon. I do want to say that Donald um
- 3:29Speaker 1: and and and he can he can make jokes about
- 3:33Speaker 1: hating it, but he has been and I was nervous
- 3:36Speaker 1: to tell him that I got I got the part.
- 3:39Speaker 1: But of course, but he as as every good best
- 3:43Speaker 1: friend should be, was nothing ever more than holy shit,
- 3:47Speaker 1: I'm so excited for you. Oh. I cried for like
- 3:50Speaker 1: a day. Don't get it twisted, all right, I was wrong.
- 3:55Speaker 1: I cried. I cried for a day. But then my
- 3:58Speaker 1: fucking once, my ego let it go. I was like, dude,
- 4:01Speaker 1: Zach has an opportunity to do something that's so fucking cool,
- 4:05Speaker 1: and you let me finish. Dude, let me finish. And
- 4:09Speaker 1: you know he's gonna fricking kill it. And he's gonna
- 4:13Speaker 1: and you know he's gonna freaking kill it, you know,
- 4:16Speaker 1: And dude, you you were amazing. Man, it was really
- 4:19Speaker 1: it was a It was um refreshing to say, not
- 4:23Speaker 1: only for that, but you brought my kids back to
- 4:25Speaker 1: Star Wars. Also, my kids, you know, they adore you
- 4:28Speaker 1: and they love you tremendously, and I shoved Star Wars
- 4:33Speaker 1: down their throats so hard that they were turned off
- 4:36Speaker 1: by it to the point where they won't watch Marvel.
- 4:39Speaker 1: If you could be in a Marvel movie next, that
- 4:41Speaker 1: would be great. First of all, because they don't like,
- 4:45Speaker 1: Thank you, they don't like they don't like uh, Star
- 4:48Speaker 1: Wars anymore. Or they didn't like Star Wars anymore, and
- 4:51Speaker 1: they won't watch Marvel because I obsess over it too much. Right,
- 4:56Speaker 1: And so when you so Cheaper Boy Doesn't came out
- 5:00Speaker 1: and my kids went to the premiere, and you are
- 5:03Speaker 1: now like an a lister in our house. You're not
- 5:06Speaker 1: you know, you are like freaking to you know how
- 5:10Speaker 1: Dindell and Harrison Ford was to me. You're that to
- 5:13Speaker 1: my children right now. And so I've seen Cheaper by
- 5:17Speaker 1: the Doesn't quite a few times, and you are the
- 5:19Speaker 1: king of sauce. I get you know what I mean,
- 5:22Speaker 1: I get all of that, right. And so Star Wars
- 5:26Speaker 1: comes out, and I haven't told anybody about this at all.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Obi Wan comesn't told anyone either, because I'm so afraid
- 5:32Speaker 1: of uh, you know obviously on the podcast, these guys
- 5:35Speaker 1: knew forever and uh we were being a little bit
- 5:38Speaker 1: cheeky about saying, ohbi obi Wan looks really good, but
- 5:41Speaker 1: we would have said that anyway because Donald and you know,
- 5:43Speaker 1: I'm a freak about it and you know well about it,
- 5:47Speaker 1: and so we had to keep it under wraps because
- 5:51Speaker 1: you know, it was supposed to be a surprise, top
- 5:54Speaker 1: secret thing, but we've known about it since before you
- 5:57Speaker 1: shot it, I was doing it actually simultaneously with Cheaper
- 5:59Speaker 1: by the Does, And we're gonna talk about a little
- 6:01Speaker 1: bit more in depth. So if you don't want to
- 6:02Speaker 1: know anything about Obi wan h, if you haven't watched
- 6:05Speaker 1: any of it, I guess step ahead before you go on.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Spoiler alert, spoiler alert or spoiler alert alert. Okay, So, um,
- 6:21Speaker 1: so that's so fucking cool. I'm sorry, dude, that's the
- 6:24Speaker 1: coolest shit ever. When you're done with this, let me
- 6:26Speaker 1: finish my story too. Go ahead. Oh it's sorry, I
- 6:28Speaker 1: don't story but anyway, Um, like the Mandalorian, a lot
- 6:32Speaker 1: of this stuff is shot on that this thing called
- 6:34Speaker 1: the Volume, which is the state of the art stage
- 6:36Speaker 1: where it's not green screen, it's it's live projected, you know,
- 6:40Speaker 1: four K resolution. And so when you're in this thing
- 6:42Speaker 1: called the Volume, it's all really there, all that stuff
- 6:45Speaker 1: with the in the fish in that wacky market where
- 6:48Speaker 1: Laya escapes and it's you know, in the in the
- 6:51Speaker 1: it's sort of futuristic marketplace where they have the chase
- 6:54Speaker 1: scene in episode two, that's like a small only a
- 6:57Speaker 1: few set pieces. Everything you're seeing is the is a
- 7:01Speaker 1: volume screen. Wow, so it's just insane technology, even her
- 7:05Speaker 1: jumping on across the roof and all of that. I'm saying,
- 7:08Speaker 1: anything like they're interacting with is a set piece, like
- 7:11Speaker 1: a roof would be a set piece, but like anything
- 7:13Speaker 1: beyond it, like where a green screen would be, is
- 7:16Speaker 1: projected live. So when you're on, when you're in the volume,
- 7:19Speaker 1: I've never been, but Deborah said, you've got to come
- 7:21Speaker 1: check it out. It's it's the most insane thing you've
- 7:23Speaker 1: ever seen. Because what's crazy is it's happening. It's live.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Like you're just saying, they're looking at it, and she
- 7:28Speaker 1: could be like, oh, those two extras deep in the background,
- 7:31Speaker 1: can you delete them? And the guy at the computers
- 7:32Speaker 1: like do do dude, and then they're gone, and it's like,
- 7:35Speaker 1: you know, we should probably add like a spaceship landing
- 7:37Speaker 1: on that building, and like do do do doo doo.
- 7:39Speaker 1: All of a sudden, there's a spaceship landing on that
- 7:41Speaker 1: building and you're watching you dude, that's so cool. It's
- 7:44Speaker 1: so cool. And I believe Mandalorian was the first big
- 7:48Speaker 1: show to develop this, but now it's becoming a new
- 7:52Speaker 1: if you can afford it, the new way to do futuristic, well,
- 7:56Speaker 1: any sort of anything, anything with a budget, anything with
- 7:59Speaker 1: a budget that can afford it. But anyway, so the
- 8:01Speaker 1: point is that my scenes, though, um we're all lighting
- 8:06Speaker 1: and everything, my my scenes were actually shot out in
- 8:10Speaker 1: the desert, on this ranch ranch desert thing about. She
- 8:14Speaker 1: had the most practical part in the right and it
- 8:17Speaker 1: was so hot. I felt so bad for the gentleman
- 8:19Speaker 1: in the suit because it was really hot, and they
- 8:22Speaker 1: had like things going inside the suit to help him
- 8:25Speaker 1: be cool, like cool air being pumped in. But um,
- 8:30Speaker 1: but it looks so everything you're seeing on the on
- 8:33Speaker 1: on my scenes were shot on location and and and
- 8:37Speaker 1: I remember turning to Deborah and there's just that expansive,
- 8:40Speaker 1: incredible view and I go, you know, people are gonna
- 8:42Speaker 1: think this is fake, right, the people are gonna think
- 8:44Speaker 1: this is the volume. She's like, I know, we spend
- 8:47Speaker 1: all this time and money and effort bringing this enormous
- 8:50Speaker 1: crew out here, and they're gonna think it's fake because
- 8:52Speaker 1: it looked so beautiful. But it was just so cool
- 8:55Speaker 1: and I had to be so top secret about it.
- 8:57Speaker 1: But they wouldn't even let me to take my sides,
- 9:00Speaker 1: Like sides are the things, Um, an actor gets on
- 9:02Speaker 1: the day, they're like a small script of just what
- 9:04Speaker 1: you're what you're saying that day, and like, never in
- 9:08Speaker 1: my life has a PA come up to me and like, hey,
- 9:10Speaker 1: we have to take those I was like, hey, I
- 9:12Speaker 1: was like, I came have these other superir She's like, no,
- 9:15Speaker 1: you know that's that's that's that's the crazy thing though,
- 9:18Speaker 1: when would you ever take sides home as a super No, No,
- 9:21Speaker 1: of course not. That ship goes in the trash when
- 9:24Speaker 1: you're done anyway, after her days of work. Yeah, man,
- 9:27Speaker 1: it's really interesting. Man. Like I was saying, my kids
- 9:31Speaker 1: now are back on Star Wars because cheaper by the doesn't.
- 9:34Speaker 1: It is such a huge success in my household. All
- 9:37Speaker 1: I had to say was Uncle Zach's and Star Wars
- 9:41Speaker 1: this morning. That is a good sentence though, to say
- 9:43Speaker 1: to you, my godchildren, right, and they go he is,
- 9:50Speaker 1: and my son then goes because I forced them to
- 9:53Speaker 1: watch episode one and they were like, oh god, that's
- 9:57Speaker 1: your nightmare. Yeah, at least you got him on basketball, dude,
- 10:00Speaker 1: at least you got that, no doubt. He's he's totally
- 10:02Speaker 1: playing basketball. And so he goes to me after he
- 10:05Speaker 1: hears that he goes, maybe I should watch episode two
- 10:08Speaker 1: first good And I was like a word yeah, And
- 10:14Speaker 1: I was like, all right, let's put an episode two. Now.
- 10:16Speaker 1: I could watch this ship all day, It's me, you
- 10:18Speaker 1: know what I mean. I could watch the Great, I
- 10:20Speaker 1: could watch the Bad, I could watch the so so
- 10:23Speaker 1: it doesn't matter to me. It's Star Wars. I'm in right.
- 10:26Speaker 1: He sits down and he starts watching. Now he's laughing
- 10:30Speaker 1: through the ship too, you know what I mean. So
- 10:32Speaker 1: now he's getting the jokes that, uh, I don't want
- 10:36Speaker 1: to spoil anything. We're still in the spoiler mode. You
- 10:38Speaker 1: can talk? Are we still in the spoiler mode? Okay? Cool?
- 10:40Speaker 1: All right. So he's saying he's laughing at the ship.
- 10:42Speaker 1: The Ley is saying, So now I'm like, wow, this
- 10:45Speaker 1: little girl's really make it. So now the impact after
- 10:49Speaker 1: watching it the second time that this little girl has
- 10:51Speaker 1: on my son is like, oh, snap, she's she works
- 10:55Speaker 1: perfectly for this, right, you know what I mean? And
- 10:58Speaker 1: so uh and so and so now every speech Ce has,
- 11:02Speaker 1: I'm listening to what she's saying instead of listening to
- 11:06Speaker 1: what you know, Obi wan and and and what everybody
- 11:10Speaker 1: else is saying. And so that's scene where he talks
- 11:12Speaker 1: about how you know, you know, you remind me of someone.
- 11:16Speaker 1: It hits home all of a sudden. Now it's like, oh,
- 11:19Speaker 1: it's gut wrenching, you know what I mean. It's right anyway,
- 11:21Speaker 1: So let me finish. Okay, so let me finish. So
- 11:26Speaker 1: we get through that episode, and we watched the next episode,
- 11:33Speaker 1: which has you in it, and he's freaking over well, actually,
- 11:38Speaker 1: he goes away. I put on the next episode. I say,
- 11:42Speaker 1: this is the part Uncle Zach's, and he comes running in.
- 11:45Speaker 1: They sit down and watch the rest of the episode
- 11:47Speaker 1: from that moment on right right, and so uh then anyway,
- 11:51Speaker 1: so this morning I'm sleeping, he comes down. He wakes
- 11:55Speaker 1: up early every morning. I walk into we call it
- 11:58Speaker 1: the Cool Room. It's the room we have the video
- 12:00Speaker 1: games where we have the arcade. It's like the arcade, right.
- 12:03Speaker 1: It started off as the kid's room and he named
- 12:06Speaker 1: it the cool room as a kid. So I walk
- 12:08Speaker 1: into the room and he's in there watching Obi Wan
- 12:12Speaker 1: Kenobi and it's your part. He goes, this is one
- 12:15Speaker 1: of my favorite shows. Dad. Yes I brought them back, Yes,
- 12:22Speaker 1: I brought them backing zib he came through all I
- 12:27Speaker 1: want now I'm just praying for an action figure, that's
- 12:30Speaker 1: all I all I want, or a Lego set. Well
- 12:33Speaker 1: you have, you have the opportunity to come thinks gonna
- 12:36Speaker 1: get a figure. I'm not dead, so i'man I could
- 12:38Speaker 1: come back in. And that was a freaking awesome scene too.
- 12:41Speaker 1: If you're listening to this, please write in. Um uh
- 12:46Speaker 1: you guys better bring back Frek. He was amazing. Anyway,
- 12:52Speaker 1: I gotta think Deborah Chow and Joel is wearing a
- 12:55Speaker 1: directed by Deborah Chow t shirt which is very cute. Um,
- 12:58Speaker 1: it's just incredible the amount of pressure that was on
- 13:01Speaker 1: her shoulders. She directed every single one of these episodes.
- 13:05Speaker 1: She should get a movie. Man, she should get a movie. Oh,
- 13:08Speaker 1: I'm sure she'll get They should do an over. I mean,
- 13:10Speaker 1: I don't know how this ends, so I don't want to,
- 13:12Speaker 1: you know, if this is it, if this is a
- 13:13Speaker 1: limited series, I don't want to. But this would be
- 13:16Speaker 1: a dope movie. Also, all I can say is, uh,
- 13:19Speaker 1: you know, most of these shows, as you know, several
- 13:23Speaker 1: directors do them, and she did them all. And she's
- 13:26Speaker 1: just the amount of pressure on this woman's shoulders. And
- 13:30Speaker 1: she was always cool and always calm, and you know,
- 13:35Speaker 1: she's just the number one stream show ever in Disney
- 13:38Speaker 1: Plus history. Yeah ever, Yeah, And she had all the
- 13:43Speaker 1: pressure of the fans desires and the studio's desires and
- 13:47Speaker 1: Ewan's desires and everyone all down on her shoulders and
- 13:51Speaker 1: every doing every single episode. So she's a pretty incredible
- 13:54Speaker 1: person and filmmaker, and I want to give her a
- 13:57Speaker 1: shout out all right before we before we in the
- 14:01Speaker 1: spoiler section, there is one thing that we have to
- 14:03Speaker 1: talk about. We can't talk about the positive without talking
- 14:06Speaker 1: about the little bit of negative. First of all, all
- 14:08Speaker 1: of these people out there that are bullying or talking
- 14:12Speaker 1: shit about young Moses. You can eat a capital d
- 14:19Speaker 1: I c K or your racist comments, dude. Uh, it's
- 14:23Speaker 1: one thing to not like a performance, but to go
- 14:26Speaker 1: in on her because of the color her skin. It's
- 14:28Speaker 1: some bullshit, dude, And or whatever the fuck you identify
- 14:33Speaker 1: as you can eat and you can that's so that's horrible.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Then this also happened to the the the Asian woman
- 14:42Speaker 1: who was the star of the horrible aspect of the
- 14:47Speaker 1: fan base that that uh, that that of some of
- 14:50Speaker 1: the fan base obviously that that happens. It's it's really disheartening,
- 14:54Speaker 1: but it makes it. I mean, come on, this is
- 14:56Speaker 1: supposed to be somebody's big break, and your idea a
- 15:00Speaker 1: fandom is unnecessary and not wanted and not needed. So
- 15:05Speaker 1: please keep that to yourself. If ever you feel like
- 15:10Speaker 1: the way I'm gonna express how I feel about somebody's
- 15:14Speaker 1: performances to go directly at their heart and feelings or
- 15:19Speaker 1: at their race. You are not a fan. You are
- 15:22Speaker 1: a fucking piece of shit. That's how I go ahead
- 15:26Speaker 1: like that. There good here here here, WU tank forever
- 15:31Speaker 1: I think we should. I fell. That's the end of
- 15:33Speaker 1: the boiler section down. You'll figure out the time there.
- 15:37Speaker 1: And now let's get into the show. Donal count us
- 15:39Speaker 1: in five six seven eight about show we made about
- 15:45Speaker 1: a bunch of doc nurses and stories. So gata around here,
- 15:57Speaker 1: yeata around here for you. Well, the first thing we
- 16:05Speaker 1: have to say is Judy Rays. Judy Rays, Judy Rays
- 16:08Speaker 1: in this episode. Holy, I mean, I just think that
- 16:14Speaker 1: Judy Ray is that she's just her real of actors
- 16:19Speaker 1: should just be this scene. Yes, she's just so talented,
- 16:24Speaker 1: and I'm excited it will have already happened when you
- 16:26Speaker 1: hear this. But we are all going down to Austin
- 16:31Speaker 1: and we're all going to reunite and I'm so excited, um,
- 16:34Speaker 1: Donald to have fun with you. Bill is coming, um uh,
- 16:37Speaker 1: Donald Knight and Sarah we're planning on going down a
- 16:40Speaker 1: night early just to have some some fun together. And
- 16:43Speaker 1: Bill just texted me that he's going to join us
- 16:45Speaker 1: a day early. Um. And then the whole cast, the
- 16:49Speaker 1: whole lead, all the leads except for Ken Um, Um
- 16:52Speaker 1: understandably are are going down to do this panel and
- 16:56Speaker 1: we're all going to have dinner Saturday night together. Which
- 16:59Speaker 1: is I mean, we have a dinner together probably? I
- 17:02Speaker 1: mean ever know, well, yeah, remember after we lost, well
- 17:07Speaker 1: remember a few times, you know, every time we lost
- 17:10Speaker 1: an Awards show, we would go to dinner right after
- 17:12Speaker 1: we lost. I remember that was the one thing that
- 17:15Speaker 1: I was like, I appreciate Bill for this so much.
- 17:18Speaker 1: We'd lose and he'd be like, you are ready to go?
- 17:22Speaker 1: We feel like yeah, it's like we're not, we're not
- 17:25Speaker 1: sitting here. Well. I couldn't help but think that Judy
- 17:28Speaker 1: should have been nominated for her performance in this episode.
- 17:31Speaker 1: Absolutely see it's just so heartbreaking at the end. And um,
- 17:36Speaker 1: and but we'll get there. Um. So Laverne. If you
- 17:39Speaker 1: recall this is a to be continued episode, this is
- 17:42Speaker 1: what's the name of it, Joel. This episode Goye My Long,
- 17:45Speaker 1: Goodbye and Um, written by Dave Tennant and directed by
- 17:49Speaker 1: Victor Nella Junior. Um. Laverne is in a coma from
- 17:54Speaker 1: her car accident and UM, and everybody is dealing Yeah,
- 18:00Speaker 1: go ahead, we're just saying to say. Everybody's dealing with
- 18:03Speaker 1: the grief of it in their own different way. Right.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Elliot's fucking like crazy. Elliot just decided to fuck like crazy. Yeah,
- 18:11Speaker 1: that's her. That's her go to and we know that
- 18:14Speaker 1: she's doing it by the number of scratches on Keith's back, right,
- 18:19Speaker 1: And she gets to the cross mark comes five? Yeah,
- 18:26Speaker 1: what do they call that? When you're doing the it's
- 18:30Speaker 1: the cross mark? I thought, right, No, what do they
- 18:32Speaker 1: call that thing? When you do one, two, three, four?
- 18:34Speaker 1: And then you put a hash to the five marks? Hash? Hash?
- 18:41Speaker 1: I keep wanting to say hash, but not hashtag comes
- 18:45Speaker 1: up in Google is accurate? Oh, hashtag does tally marks?
- 18:49Speaker 1: Tally marks? Okay, there you go. Okay, so we put
- 18:52Speaker 1: so she's she's had sex with them five times, so
- 18:54Speaker 1: she's put she puts the fifth tally mark on, but
- 18:56Speaker 1: then wants to go again. Then yeah, then wants to
- 18:59Speaker 1: go again. Remember the Penis doctors, Doctor Penis, he told
- 19:03Speaker 1: us that that that's called the refractory period. How I
- 19:06Speaker 1: believe how quickly the man can go again? Keith has
- 19:09Speaker 1: a very low refractory period. Yes, it is, it is,
- 19:12Speaker 1: it is. One would say lightning quick. I would say
- 19:16Speaker 1: it's seconds, because she says, let's go again, and Kee's
- 19:19Speaker 1: ready and he yes, I do not have. I do
- 19:25Speaker 1: not have that. It's quick, but it's not that quick. Well,
- 19:28Speaker 1: you're also forty eight. When I was young, it wasn't
- 19:32Speaker 1: that quick. Yeah, I was young. My refractory period wasn't
- 19:35Speaker 1: that quick either. I think only in the movies and
- 19:38Speaker 1: TV it's that quick, right, especially on this, But I
- 19:41Speaker 1: don't know. There's probably someone listening who's like, no, my
- 19:44Speaker 1: refractory period is like five seconds, man. And that person
- 19:52Speaker 1: has a lot of kids. Yeah, that person has a
- 19:54Speaker 1: lot of kids. So um JD and Turk have decided
- 19:59Speaker 1: to do something they've always want to do, which is
- 20:02Speaker 1: mailbox baseball at Kelso's house. Yes, and Kelso has reinforced
- 20:10Speaker 1: his mailbox with titanium because Enid, what did she do?
- 20:15Speaker 1: She hit it with the RV too many times driving.
- 20:19Speaker 1: I don't think though she had dementia. Sorry, I'm not
- 20:24Speaker 1: laughing at dementia. I'm laughing at the fact that Enid
- 20:26Speaker 1: with dementia is driving the RV. I don't think she
- 20:29Speaker 1: should be. No, I don't think that's a good idea.
- 20:33Speaker 1: But anyway, you you get kicked off. Now you're stunt man.
- 20:37Speaker 1: I went back and froze. Frame doesn't look anything like you.
- 20:41Speaker 1: Um Now, Now, of course, when you're watching something in
- 20:44Speaker 1: normal speed, you would never notice this. Wow, But I
- 20:47Speaker 1: was curious by the way the fellow, whoever he is,
- 20:49Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I don't have your name, he did take
- 20:52Speaker 1: a very nice uh fall off a scooter. But um,
- 20:56Speaker 1: but I but I saw that it was clearly not you. Well,
- 20:58Speaker 1: you know there's the most infamous not the person stunt
- 21:02Speaker 1: man from Beverly Hills Cop when Eddie Murphy throws the
- 21:05Speaker 1: guy over the table. The stunt man looks like Richard Pryor,
- 21:09Speaker 1: and at least the dude had a bald head in
- 21:11Speaker 1: this one. Yeah, Anie in a mustache. I don't know
- 21:13Speaker 1: if it was fake or not. Wait and Beverly and
- 21:16Speaker 1: Beverly Hills cop. No in this one, Oh no, they
- 21:19Speaker 1: really did the Beverly Hills cop maneuver. Well, just put
- 21:21Speaker 1: a mustache on the guy. No, if you did, I
- 21:24Speaker 1: have a much I didn't have a mustache at this
- 21:26Speaker 1: point this episode. You have a mustache? Really, I'm not.
- 21:30Speaker 1: I only knew. I only knew because I went back
- 21:33Speaker 1: and looked at it. I was like, the guy looks
- 21:34Speaker 1: nothing like him. But I froze frame and it was like, Wow,
- 21:36Speaker 1: at least they put the mustache on him. Wow. Do
- 21:40Speaker 1: you remember me rocking a mustache all the time? I
- 21:43Speaker 1: just remember that sometimes you would and sometimes you wouldn't,
- 21:46Speaker 1: and when we when we needed to highlight them all,
- 21:49Speaker 1: we would shake it off. Right, you didn't shake the mustache.
- 21:53Speaker 1: I thought that was Lonnie playing the guy who gets
- 21:56Speaker 1: bad news, didn't you? I did, But then I realized
- 21:59Speaker 1: it was a Lonnie look alike. Yes, because Bill was
- 22:02Speaker 1: pretty good about not repeating characters ever. Um, I think
- 22:06Speaker 1: there's like a handful of examples. Maybe, but I was like,
- 22:10Speaker 1: why is Lonnie getting the bad news from the bad
- 22:13Speaker 1: news robot? Now the bad news robot is pretty funny.
- 22:17Speaker 1: It's made of a garbage I don't know what it's
- 22:20Speaker 1: made of, but that's a freaking very funny soap opera
- 22:24Speaker 1: fantasy of that with the robot yeah the kid, wait,
- 22:31Speaker 1: don't get it first. That starts with the guard for
- 22:33Speaker 1: the first of all, it's the bad news robot. It
- 22:35Speaker 1: comes in and it's a garbage can with like a
- 22:37Speaker 1: scooter handabar. Johnny almost have made this thing. It's well, okay, right,
- 22:44Speaker 1: and it comes in to give bad news, to give
- 22:47Speaker 1: bad news, and it gives a kid the news that
- 22:50Speaker 1: he has cancer, and then it dies. No. Wait, and
- 22:52Speaker 1: then it says, press the button for a pep talk,
- 22:57Speaker 1: or press the button if you give up. Yeah, And
- 23:00Speaker 1: the kid presses the button for the pep talk, and
- 23:02Speaker 1: the robots you have pressed the button for a pep talk.
- 23:06Speaker 1: You are going. You are strong, you are And then
- 23:10Speaker 1: he starts smoking because because it breaks him. And then
- 23:15Speaker 1: the robot dies, and then we cut to the robots
- 23:19Speaker 1: now in the bed right, and and I had to
- 23:23Speaker 1: give his robot kids two little smaller robots bad news.
- 23:29Speaker 1: And then one takes out a laser and blasts you
- 23:32Speaker 1: and shoots me. Yeah, and then the other one, the
- 23:36Speaker 1: other one comes through and that was very funny. That
- 23:45Speaker 1: was yeah, that was very very ston very stonery hilarious. Yeah,
- 23:50Speaker 1: Jordan and Cox are having the baby. They don't want
- 23:53Speaker 1: anyone to know about it. She didn't even tell him, right.
- 23:57Speaker 1: I like that he puts on a Rutger's T shirt
- 23:59Speaker 1: to represent Jerseys. But I did. I got Rutgers. I
- 24:05Speaker 1: don't know. I know he went to ny Uh. I
- 24:08Speaker 1: think it went to Syracuse too, I'm not sure. I
- 24:10Speaker 1: don't know. But I got in the Rutgers I remember, dude.
- 24:12Speaker 1: I remember getting into Rutgers. And this the only college
- 24:15Speaker 1: that I got into. And I only got in because
- 24:17Speaker 1: my mom went to Rutgers. This is such a bad story,
- 24:19Speaker 1: but my mom went to Rutgers and her her college professor,
- 24:23Speaker 1: her drama professor, was Avery Brooks. Right, And so anyway,
- 24:27Speaker 1: I go out for Rutgers. My grades in the high
- 24:30Speaker 1: school are shit. I didn't go to high school. I
- 24:33Speaker 1: was a horrible I mean high school. I cut a
- 24:38Speaker 1: lot and I have a lot of teachers there that
- 24:41Speaker 1: helped push me through, and I appreciate you all, but um,
- 24:44Speaker 1: in all honesty, I wasn't a good student. And so
- 24:47Speaker 1: my mom's dream was for me to go to Rutgers.
- 24:50Speaker 1: I went, and I did the audition and I got in,
- 24:53Speaker 1: and I remember my guidance counselor's face, mister Nap, when
- 24:57Speaker 1: I told him, Oh, I'm not going to go to college.
- 24:59Speaker 1: My dream was to go to LA and make it
- 25:01Speaker 1: as an actor. And I remember his face when I
- 25:03Speaker 1: said that shit. He was like, oh, Donald, don't you
- 25:07Speaker 1: oh man like? And I was like nah. He was
- 25:08Speaker 1: like my My guidance counselor, who was also my history teacher,
- 25:13Speaker 1: couldn't believe that I got into college. Also, so when
- 25:16Speaker 1: I saw Johnny See with that Rutgers shirt hunt, I
- 25:19Speaker 1: was like, holy shit, this is full circle. Man. I
- 25:22Speaker 1: remember this moment. I remember the moment when I told
- 25:25Speaker 1: him and my mom that not that should ain't happening.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Asked Johnny when we see him, why why he decided
- 25:31Speaker 1: to give Rutgers a shout out. He must have some
- 25:33Speaker 1: connection to it. There has to be a Jersey pride,
- 25:35Speaker 1: Jersey Pride Rutgers represent. My dad taught law at Rutgers,
- 25:40Speaker 1: and he was very loyal, very loyal to UH to
- 25:43Speaker 1: their football team. He would actually go to the games,
- 25:45Speaker 1: even though I don't even know if Rutgers was any
- 25:47Speaker 1: good ever, Oh gosh, yeah, they were absolutely At one
- 25:50Speaker 1: point they won an into or were in the NC
- 25:53Speaker 1: double a game, okay, championship, how little line though, right,
- 25:58Speaker 1: I think they played for I think they played for.
- 26:00Speaker 1: My stepfather was a professor there too. Uh yeah, let's
- 26:04Speaker 1: take a break. We'll be right back after these fine words.
- 26:13Speaker 1: By the way, did you notice that, um it's a
- 26:14Speaker 1: small little easter egg, but when Kelsel comes out of
- 26:17Speaker 1: his house after you on the grounds, he's holding a
- 26:19Speaker 1: plum Ox mug, which is the from yeah, yeah, I
- 26:25Speaker 1: like the little easter egg that he's still rocking a
- 26:27Speaker 1: plum Ox mug. Um. So Carr, Cox and Jordan don't
- 26:33Speaker 1: want anyone to know about there that they're having the
- 26:36Speaker 1: C section, and um, they've asked JD for a favor,
- 26:40Speaker 1: but he's so worked up in his head about trying
- 26:44Speaker 1: to be the godfather and and the fact that he's
- 26:47Speaker 1: going to be the only one who knows the secret
- 26:48Speaker 1: that he doesn't hear what Cox is one request is
- 26:53Speaker 1: and um, and so he misses it. But he's like,
- 26:57Speaker 1: don't But he's like, should I ask again? No? No No, no,
- 26:59Speaker 1: And then he'll think he trust you. So he has
- 27:02Speaker 1: a plan too, well, he was. He remembers he was
- 27:07Speaker 1: still looking at Cox while he's daydreaming. He just wasn't listening.
- 27:12Speaker 1: So he goes he has a plan to go to
- 27:15Speaker 1: some doctor, an audiologist. I guess, right, who can read
- 27:19Speaker 1: the lips here? Right? He tries to recreate you remembering, Yeah,
- 27:29Speaker 1: I do a Cox impression, and then I try and
- 27:31Speaker 1: recreate which is which is bizarre that Jad has such
- 27:35Speaker 1: a memory that he can remember Cox is what Cox's
- 27:38Speaker 1: lips were doing. And then the audiologist says, yes, he
- 27:42Speaker 1: wants you to go buy some more film for his camera.
- 27:46Speaker 1: And that makes perfect sense because there's a baby on
- 27:49Speaker 1: the way, so right, So Jad believes that and goes
- 27:51Speaker 1: to good and for your kids out there. You used
- 27:54Speaker 1: to put film in a camera. Now what camera used
- 27:58Speaker 1: to be separate from your eye phone? It used to
- 28:02Speaker 1: be a whole another apparatus actually. So Elliot's the first
- 28:06Speaker 1: person to go say goodbye to Laverne. Uh she just
- 28:10Speaker 1: in case, uh something bad happens before the the cat
- 28:16Speaker 1: scan comes back. Elliot's the first person to go in
- 28:19Speaker 1: and she you know, it's a wonderful job. Everybody who
- 28:23Speaker 1: went into the room to say goodbye to nurse Roberts,
- 28:28Speaker 1: that's such a wonderful job, including you. You were you were,
- 28:30Speaker 1: you were very good in your scene. Thank you very much.
- 28:33Speaker 1: But when Elliott goes, this is what Laverne daughter, Yeah,
- 28:40Speaker 1: this is Laverne. I want to thank you for all
- 28:43Speaker 1: the things that you taught me, Like when why do
- 28:46Speaker 1: people come out of the rain? They smell like wet dog?
- 28:52Speaker 1: And then Elliott gets caught up in Now Elliot's moved
- 28:59Speaker 1: by that, and she goes, they do they really do
- 29:04Speaker 1: we do? Or did she say we do? And then
- 29:08Speaker 1: there's another moment and she goes, we really do? It
- 29:15Speaker 1: was great. It was a very funny moment, very hard.
- 29:18Speaker 1: But also we learned that when uh, we learned that
- 29:22Speaker 1: when uh, when Carl is being followed around by this ghost,
- 29:27Speaker 1: that also Cox is followed around by a ghost as well.
- 29:32Speaker 1: He's followed around by the ghost of Nicole Sullivan's character. Yes,
- 29:35Speaker 1: and I read on scrubs Wiki that it was originally
- 29:37Speaker 1: supposed to be bred in Frasier Um, but he was unavailable,
- 29:40Speaker 1: and so they asked Nicole Sullivan. Oh wow, well scrubs
- 29:45Speaker 1: WICKI trivia there for you. I think this rumor they
- 29:48Speaker 1: don't know how did they know? It may have been
- 29:51Speaker 1: something Sometimes scrubs Wiki, I think gets stuff off the
- 29:54Speaker 1: DVD commentaries. Um we did um uh so that I
- 30:00Speaker 1: have been something Bill said uh in he commentary something um.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Todd says, if doing you right now, gosh, that's the
- 30:07Speaker 1: best one. When the trio is in there, When that
- 30:10Speaker 1: trio is in there, that is the best one. Todd's
- 30:14Speaker 1: Todd's sweet words of of of of Do you want
- 30:17Speaker 1: to know what he says of pep talk is if
- 30:19Speaker 1: he goes, you know, he goes, you were the woman
- 30:22Speaker 1: I'd never do because you're a big girl. But if
- 30:26Speaker 1: doing you right now would save your life? What is that?
- 30:32Speaker 1: What do you say? I would right? Doing you right
- 30:34Speaker 1: now could help? Right? I would like like so sincere
- 30:38Speaker 1: I would? Um so. We also learned the janitor was
- 30:47Speaker 1: the lifeguard at LaVerne's pool party party. Yea, even though
- 30:52Speaker 1: he's not a strong swimmer, right, and he made abundant
- 30:55Speaker 1: but she somehow made abundantly clear. Yes. And then he
- 31:00Speaker 1: and he says something that that really is twisted. If
- 31:03Speaker 1: you see your dog up there, please tell him I'm
- 31:06Speaker 1: sorry sorry, which means that LaVerne's dog was killed at
- 31:10Speaker 1: her at one of her no in the pool when
- 31:16Speaker 1: the janitor was supposed to be a lifeguard. Yes, but
- 31:19Speaker 1: he couldn't do but he couldn't say the dog because
- 31:21Speaker 1: he couldn't swea I'm sorry, oh man, Okay, so then
- 31:30Speaker 1: he then the janet reveals that he converted to the
- 31:32Speaker 1: Norse religion, right because he thinks that LaVerne's going to Valhalla. Yes, okay,
- 31:41Speaker 1: we got to go back. Also, what Carla? Also, Carla
- 31:46Speaker 1: isn't such denial, but she also reveals that there was
- 31:49Speaker 1: a mister Wang in the hospital who went into a
- 31:54Speaker 1: coma in nineteen eighty four and just woke up. Yeah,
- 31:58Speaker 1: but when he woke up, he moonwalking into Michael Jackson
- 32:01Speaker 1: outfit and says, where's the beef? I love that he
- 32:10Speaker 1: had all that in his room for for for several years. Yeah,
- 32:13Speaker 1: look he's moonwalking in in was it the Michael Jackson. Yeah,
- 32:17Speaker 1: he's in the red Michael Jackson out fit. Thriller from
- 32:22Speaker 1: from Thriller. It's the Thriller or it was thriller. It
- 32:25Speaker 1: was thriller because Billy Jean is black. And then um
- 32:30Speaker 1: and then he and then he got the ruby scube.
- 32:32Speaker 1: And then he says Where's the beef? For those of
- 32:33Speaker 1: you who are too young. That was a famous Wendy
- 32:37Speaker 1: where this old woman would would open up her burger
- 32:41Speaker 1: button from different from various burger UH fast food place
- 32:47Speaker 1: and she became famous all around. It was like a
- 32:49Speaker 1: very very famous, very famous campaign. And she or the
- 32:52Speaker 1: burger meat was too small, and she go, where's the beef?
- 32:56Speaker 1: Where's the beef? Yeah? I do remember. The woman was
- 33:00Speaker 1: like nine years old. I had a T I had that.
- 33:03Speaker 1: I had one of those T shirts. You didn't have
- 33:04Speaker 1: it where's the Beef T shirt? When you had a
- 33:07Speaker 1: Where's the Beef? T shirt? Absolutely? I had Simpson. I dude,
- 33:10Speaker 1: I had a collection of Simpsons T shirts. And I
- 33:13Speaker 1: had never watched the Simpsons. But Bart Simpson was so
- 33:15Speaker 1: popular that fucking I had his face play. You were
- 33:18Speaker 1: a poser, dude. I said this many times in high school. Dude,
- 33:23Speaker 1: I walked around dressed as Bell bib de Vot. I
- 33:25Speaker 1: had hammer pants on. I was. But no, but you
- 33:28Speaker 1: at least loved those things. You're saying. You were a
- 33:30Speaker 1: Bart Simpson T shirt and didn't watch the Simpsons. Oh no,
- 33:33Speaker 1: I love Bart Simpson, but I didn't watch the Simpsons.
- 33:35Speaker 1: Because I didn't watch I love Bart Simpson because when
- 33:38Speaker 1: you would go to the movies and they would have
- 33:40Speaker 1: that those little shorts before the movies and it would
- 33:43Speaker 1: be the Simpson cartoon and that's how I knew who
- 33:46Speaker 1: they were. But as far as I remember, it starting
- 33:49Speaker 1: on the Tray Show as well. Yeah, but if you
- 33:52Speaker 1: went to the movies, like a couple of movies I
- 33:54Speaker 1: went to, there was like one where the Simpsons go
- 33:56Speaker 1: to uh therapist and they're all sitting on a therapist
- 34:00Speaker 1: chair and by the end of it, uh, Homer's choking
- 34:03Speaker 1: the shit out of Bart. But right, anyway, I had.
- 34:07Speaker 1: My favorite shirt was one where Bart a rasta man
- 34:10Speaker 1: and he's holding a blunt. Oh, I see, that would
- 34:14Speaker 1: made you look cool with your friends. This is right.
- 34:15Speaker 1: This is in high school too, So I got a
- 34:17Speaker 1: lot of like yearbook pictures with me wearing that shirt.
- 34:21Speaker 1: Really only only in a Manhattan school. Could only at
- 34:26Speaker 1: the professional children's school? Was that? Possibly at the professional
- 34:29Speaker 1: Children's School Manhattan? Can you take your class picture with
- 34:32Speaker 1: Bart as a roster man with a joints? Well, it
- 34:34Speaker 1: wasn't a class picture. It was like me on a
- 34:36Speaker 1: freaking uh. It was like a field day and where
- 34:39Speaker 1: the whole school was on a field. You know, it
- 34:41Speaker 1: was like in Central Park. We let's digress from and
- 34:44Speaker 1: how did you feel about the Miami Heat Celtics game.
- 34:47Speaker 1: I know how you felt. You felt it was over
- 34:49Speaker 1: after the first five minutes. I was trying to I
- 34:52Speaker 1: was tiring to convince donaland I was watching. So I
- 34:55Speaker 1: watched the first five minutes when they where they were
- 34:57Speaker 1: up by like ten, and I go, it's over. I
- 35:02Speaker 1: can't watch anymore. It's over. It's over. The lead's too big,
- 35:08Speaker 1: there's not enough, there's no it was. It was Guel
- 35:11Speaker 1: It was there really like the first two minutes of
- 35:12Speaker 1: the game, Dude, that game was. It's such a good
- 35:15Speaker 1: game until the last Listen, I'm gonna say one thing
- 35:21Speaker 1: and I'll probably get heat for it, no pun intended, right,
- 35:25Speaker 1: But he my dude, but he is my favorite player
- 35:29Speaker 1: in the NBA. But the decision he made at the
- 35:33Speaker 1: end of the game to pull that three, I'm sure
- 35:37Speaker 1: he's tired, and I know Al Horford is a beast
- 35:40Speaker 1: of a defender, but he had Al Horford backing up
- 35:44Speaker 1: on his heels and Jimmy Butler decided to pull almost
- 35:49Speaker 1: from the logo A three and you disagree with the decision.
- 35:56Speaker 1: I don't think that was the right decision. I thought
- 35:57Speaker 1: he should have put it in Al Horford's and tried
- 36:00Speaker 1: to get the M one at least, Dald do you
- 36:03Speaker 1: did you watch the game? Do you agree with Donald's assessment?
- 36:06Speaker 1: I mean, I definitely agree with Donald's assessment. Um, I
- 36:10Speaker 1: did not watch the game. I watched the highlights. I'm
- 36:12Speaker 1: a big Jimmy Butts fan. I love Jimmy Buckets, but
- 36:16Speaker 1: it's like the Michael Jordan quote, you're past the ball
- 36:18Speaker 1: to make that shot like forty times. You'll miss it
- 36:21Speaker 1: thirty times, but it's not going to stop you from trying. Right,
- 36:25Speaker 1: He missed it on the biggest stage to go to
- 36:26Speaker 1: the finals, though they would, Yeah, they would if he
- 36:30Speaker 1: made it, they go to the finals. Yeah, it's a
- 36:32Speaker 1: rat and he's freaking sports top ten for the year,
- 36:35Speaker 1: oh my for the for the year. It's freaking Kawhi Leonard.
- 36:39Speaker 1: When he did it to Joel and beating Jimmy Bucket
- 36:41Speaker 1: with the bounds, with the bounce, you know what I mean? Yeah, totally,
- 36:45Speaker 1: I'm gonna pose back. This went beyond anyway you asked
- 36:49Speaker 1: you asked, No. I wanted for those sports lovers out
- 36:52Speaker 1: there who listen, I wanted to give you your your
- 36:54Speaker 1: your little little moment to talk about it. I tried.
- 36:59Speaker 1: I want you to know I tried. I gave it
- 37:02Speaker 1: a solid when the score, I'm happy for the Celtics.
- 37:06Speaker 1: When the Celtics were had seventeen points. Uh, I don't
- 37:10Speaker 1: think it ever got that big or ten points up whatever.
- 37:13Speaker 1: I was like, it's over, donaldon. But I was having
- 37:16Speaker 1: fun with all my friends being like this, I need this,
- 37:18Speaker 1: this is this is a big one, so stupid. All
- 37:24Speaker 1: right back, let's take a break. We're gonna say a
- 37:26Speaker 1: quick break and we'll be right back with some more
- 37:28Speaker 1: talk about the TV show Scrubs and we're bad. Yeah,
- 37:46Speaker 1: woo Tank forever, woo Tank forever. What you're trying to
- 37:50Speaker 1: get into a day of shoom. What you're trying to do, hey, speaking,
- 37:55Speaker 1: what you're trying to get into, Make sure you pace
- 37:57Speaker 1: tomorrow because I don't want you, Woozy. I can picture
- 38:00Speaker 1: you're getting on the plane. Oh you don't know, bro,
- 38:03Speaker 1: but you don't know. You ain't heard. I'm using this
- 38:08Speaker 1: trip to get off the marijuana. Okay, good, But you're
- 38:13Speaker 1: still I imagine going to have a mimosa or something
- 38:16Speaker 1: on the plane. Yeah, but I can't drink like I
- 38:19Speaker 1: used to be able to drink like that. You know.
- 38:20Speaker 1: That's why I'm telling you to pace, because you don't
- 38:22Speaker 1: need to tell me to pace. I'm already. I'm a
- 38:24Speaker 1: grown ass man. I know you still want You're gonna
- 38:27Speaker 1: get boozy. That's not fun for me. It's my point.
- 38:31Speaker 1: I don't like the feeling of the room spinning. I
- 38:34Speaker 1: don't like the feeling of I'm about to throw up.
- 38:37Speaker 1: So I'll have a drink and if that shit's too sweet,
- 38:39Speaker 1: I'm not gonna finish it. You honor me, listen. I
- 38:42Speaker 1: want to make sure that you don't mimosa out too
- 38:46Speaker 1: much on the plane. Yes, hope they die, and I
- 38:50Speaker 1: hope they burn in hell. What's that airplane? No? Sam Jackson?
- 38:57Speaker 1: Oh oh the snakes? No? Do you remember an airplane?
- 39:01Speaker 1: When they when they when they cut to the counterpoint segment,
- 39:03Speaker 1: and the guys like they bought their tickets, they knew
- 39:07Speaker 1: what they were getting into. I say, let him crash
- 39:17Speaker 1: um all right, as long as you promise not to
- 39:19Speaker 1: get woozy, because I got a nice dinner reservation for us.
- 39:22Speaker 1: Where are we eating? Is it me you, Sarah and Bill?
- 39:26Speaker 1: It's me you, Sarah and Bill and Ryan our friend
- 39:29Speaker 1: Ryan and right, Okay, we're gonna have fun. Just don't
- 39:33Speaker 1: get too woozy. I can't believe Sarah's coming. She never
- 39:36Speaker 1: does anything spontaneous. No, no disrespect to Sarah. But she's
- 39:41Speaker 1: sure sheptain. I'm sure she's sick of being in Canada. Well,
- 39:45Speaker 1: all I gotta tell us. I guarantee you. We've told
- 39:48Speaker 1: you on the podcast that, um, there's always a story
- 39:52Speaker 1: with Sarah, and I know that she's going to show
- 39:54Speaker 1: up and be like, you guys are not gonna believe
- 39:56Speaker 1: what happened. My COMMI citizenship is no longer. Yeah, I
- 40:01Speaker 1: guess the airport they had revoked my Canadians citizens my passport.
- 40:06Speaker 1: I didn't know it was expired. There's gonna be some
- 40:08Speaker 1: you never you will never not see Sarah with like
- 40:10Speaker 1: you're not gonna believe what happened today. It won't even
- 40:15Speaker 1: be yesterday. It'll be like today. I'm about then they're
- 40:19Speaker 1: about my passport and it falls through a great in
- 40:22Speaker 1: the floor. It's all. Sometimes it gets really action in
- 40:31Speaker 1: the adventury too, man like one time the car one time, Yeah,
- 40:34Speaker 1: one time it was a car was barreling down a
- 40:38Speaker 1: hill towards a picnic where Sarah and the kids were eating.
- 40:46Speaker 1: It was her car. She didn't put the brake on, right,
- 40:48Speaker 1: she didn't put the brake on, and so is it?
- 40:51Speaker 1: Was it her sister's husband or was it I don't know,
- 40:55Speaker 1: but anyway, somebody jumps in the car and you know,
- 41:00Speaker 1: the car's park, so the wheel is hard to turn
- 41:04Speaker 1: now and rips the wheel and the car spins out
- 41:08Speaker 1: and barely misses them. Yeah, this is a this is
- 41:12Speaker 1: a there's never there was, this is never dull moment
- 41:14Speaker 1: when when we story at lunch on our next segment,
- 41:16Speaker 1: on our next episode, we'll tell you what what Sarah's
- 41:21Speaker 1: assuming we're allowed to, We'll tell you what Sarah's drama
- 41:24Speaker 1: for the day was when we see her and she's
- 41:27Speaker 1: always had a breath for some reason. When she tell it,
- 41:29Speaker 1: and then listen, I'm so excited to see her. I
- 41:35Speaker 1: can't wait. I can't wait. We're gonna have fun. All right.
- 41:38Speaker 1: Back to the show. Um, So, we learned that Kelso
- 41:43Speaker 1: and Laverne had sex a bit. For a bit, he
- 41:48Speaker 1: goes to kiss her, which feels inappropriate. Um, But then
- 41:53Speaker 1: LaVerne's ghost tells Carlo like, I don't mind. We once
- 41:56Speaker 1: did it before, right before I was with mister Roberts. Roberts,
- 42:02Speaker 1: let me tell you something that man loves him some
- 42:04Speaker 1: brown sugar. Yeah, but remembered it fondly. It seemed like,
- 42:09Speaker 1: you know, the audience is a little bit like creeped
- 42:12Speaker 1: out at first, like why is Kelsel Kissinger? And then
- 42:14Speaker 1: you cut LaVerne's ghost revealing like it wasn't, as if
- 42:18Speaker 1: to imply like it was. It was, Oh, no, we
- 42:20Speaker 1: had a good Yeah, we had a good couple of
- 42:22Speaker 1: we had a good run. Yeah, we had a good
- 42:24Speaker 1: we had some good sessions. Yea. Unfortunately I couldn't get
- 42:28Speaker 1: past the racism and the misogyny. So then JD frantically
- 42:37Speaker 1: realizes that when Cox says did you go did you
- 42:40Speaker 1: do what I said? That the lip reading was very
- 42:42Speaker 1: off and it was will you go pick up my son? Yes,
- 42:45Speaker 1: So he frantically texts Lloyd, Wow. The fact that Lloyds
- 42:49Speaker 1: why did he choose Lloyd of all people? The fact
- 42:52Speaker 1: that Lloyd's go to I mean, I you know, ever
- 42:54Speaker 1: since Lloyd's reliable, well he's reliable on his with the job,
- 43:01Speaker 1: and he's reliable with the kid. It turns out to
- 43:04Speaker 1: I know, but he he yah, well he comes through. Yeah,
- 43:08Speaker 1: and we cut to Lloyd Um cranking speed metal? Is
- 43:11Speaker 1: that what it's called, Daniel speed metal? That is a
- 43:15Speaker 1: form of metal? Yeah, I think I think that's what
- 43:16Speaker 1: it was. I have to go back. I can't think
- 43:27Speaker 1: of a kind of music I like that kind of
- 43:30Speaker 1: what I can't think of. No disrespect to all the
- 43:33Speaker 1: wonderful artists who created it's just, you know, it's each
- 43:36Speaker 1: their own. I'm sure you don't like slow, sad, singer
- 43:39Speaker 1: songwriter music, but I just don't understand. No, no, no, no, no,
- 43:49Speaker 1: dann do you listen to any of that? At one point,
- 44:00Speaker 1: at one point, at one point, there's somebody that always
- 44:04Speaker 1: does this in that song, I get a good pig
- 44:08Speaker 1: squeal going, what's that called? What's that kind of music called?
- 44:12Speaker 1: I mean, it's it's metal. There's there's there's also that's
- 44:15Speaker 1: not metal. It's it's some type type of metal. There's
- 44:18Speaker 1: there's like guar is that gar? I'm trying to skip
- 44:22Speaker 1: to the point in the episode so I could hear
- 44:23Speaker 1: it again because I'm having trouble to remembering exactly what
- 44:25Speaker 1: the actual music part sounded like. But well, just cuts
- 44:28Speaker 1: a Lloyd. The kid loves it. The kid is jamming out.
- 44:31Speaker 1: The kid would not love that, no but really, I
- 44:34Speaker 1: think some kids anyway, what's cute in this in the
- 44:36Speaker 1: episode is that Cox's kid is jamming out to it.
- 44:39Speaker 1: He loves it. You're your kids love noise because they
- 44:45Speaker 1: make so much of it. So I like, look, I
- 44:50Speaker 1: love this song. My kids love this song even more
- 44:53Speaker 1: than I do now. And we don't play the we
- 44:56Speaker 1: don't play the dirty version, but U Drick Lamars be humble, Yeah, grates.
- 45:03Speaker 1: They want that song so loud because that bass kick
- 45:06Speaker 1: in that ship is so hard that I'm telling you,
- 45:10Speaker 1: kids love that that whatever that is, they love that,
- 45:16Speaker 1: and speed metal has that hardcore. I just don't know,
- 45:23Speaker 1: and I'm sure our listeners are. Some of our listeners know.
- 45:25Speaker 1: I feel like there's probably a more specific term than
- 45:28Speaker 1: speed metal for the drum behind it, ra ra And
- 45:37Speaker 1: then it goes into the can you imagine can you
- 45:40Speaker 1: imagine coming home from work? Can you imagine coming home
- 45:43Speaker 1: from working? You put on that speed metal track? I
- 45:45Speaker 1: love what is it? Daniel? Did you hear it, I
- 45:54Speaker 1: think of speed Metal. Okay, there you go, good call.
- 45:58Speaker 1: All right, Well I didn't we reference it in the show,
- 46:01Speaker 1: so we can't take credit for that. Then we learned
- 46:03Speaker 1: Laverne from the chart and the CT scan is officially
- 46:07Speaker 1: brain dead. And and when Cox says by Laverne, I'm
- 46:11Speaker 1: getting goose bumps on my thighs as I as I
- 46:13Speaker 1: say it, because it was a very powerful moment. And
- 46:16Speaker 1: then I have the flashback to the pilot when um,
- 46:20Speaker 1: which was which was a really beautiful thing that Bill did.
- 46:24Speaker 1: Um cutting to the very first episode when she's like,
- 46:27Speaker 1: will you just pronounced him? So I can go home?
- 46:29Speaker 1: And then she hasn't a pilot too, isn't it is that? Um? No,
- 46:35Speaker 1: I think she's got another one. Okay, um maybe, but
- 46:39Speaker 1: we remember when we had a Loma on she said
- 46:41Speaker 1: she just thought she she didn't know she was going
- 46:42Speaker 1: to come back. Yeah, um, oh wait no, no, I
- 46:46Speaker 1: know you're right, you know what, because didn't the Loma
- 46:48Speaker 1: say she had two lines? And then when the episode
- 46:50Speaker 1: airs she had one or something? You just him? Will
- 46:55Speaker 1: you just pronounced him? So I can go home? And
- 46:57Speaker 1: then I and then jad so Cheesley goes you can
- 47:00Speaker 1: finally go home and she said that, she said that, yeah,
- 47:04Speaker 1: and she says, that's so cheesy. Do you Okay, if
- 47:08Speaker 1: you had to choose out of the whole show what
- 47:11Speaker 1: your favorite joke was in the show, what would it be?
- 47:14Speaker 1: I have too, Well, my mom had a uterus, I
- 47:17Speaker 1: lived in it. I think I improved that. And I
- 47:20Speaker 1: thought that was pretty funny. That it's very jd and
- 47:23Speaker 1: very random. I take it back, I have three jokes
- 47:26Speaker 1: that I thought it was funny. I thought because of
- 47:29Speaker 1: my geeked him, are you on call tonight? Are you
- 47:31Speaker 1: going to fight Superman? Because you look like Lex Luthor
- 47:34Speaker 1: was one of the funniest jokes. And it's so fast
- 47:38Speaker 1: and nobody picks up on it, right. Yeah. And by
- 47:41Speaker 1: the way, just I read on scrubs WICKI that if
- 47:43Speaker 1: you recalled Johnny c was bald headed um in the
- 47:47Speaker 1: previous episode or or was it the last one or
- 47:50Speaker 1: one before? It was just random? Yeah, yeah, because and
- 47:53Speaker 1: it was never explained because they changed the order. So
- 47:55Speaker 1: this was the episode where he shaved his head, Well,
- 47:59Speaker 1: this was that. So what Johnny showed up with the
- 48:01Speaker 1: shaped head? No, in the very top of this episode,
- 48:04Speaker 1: he shaves his head, he goes, He goes, Yeah, there
- 48:07Speaker 1: must have been a reason behind it. I feel like why,
- 48:09Speaker 1: why did I wonder why? I don't think Bill would
- 48:12Speaker 1: have written that in Johnny Seen may me hap. No,
- 48:13Speaker 1: that's what I'm trying to say. Johnny came in with
- 48:15Speaker 1: a shaved head. Oh, and that's how that happened. That's
- 48:19Speaker 1: where this saw comes from. Oh was it from a
- 48:21Speaker 1: roll or do he just decide to shake his head?
- 48:23Speaker 1: I don't know, that's a Johnny question. But yeah, I
- 48:26Speaker 1: remember they had to they had to figure out wheyd
- 48:28Speaker 1: to write it in. But anyway, it's it's it's it's
- 48:32Speaker 1: explained in this episode. So that was one of my favorite.
- 48:37Speaker 1: The other favorite one, other favorite one is when all
- 48:39Speaker 1: you guys are in the room and you're doing the
- 48:41Speaker 1: Shadow Public poly shit. We recreate Pearl Harbor. You recreate
- 48:51Speaker 1: pretty impressively. It's very impressively with planes crashing and fucking Ted. Yeah,
- 49:00Speaker 1: can't help it. It brings in the alligator. It has
- 49:03Speaker 1: to bring in the alligator. Yeah, and I go, Ted,
- 49:05Speaker 1: there were no alligators in Pearl Harbor. Oh, And then
- 49:09Speaker 1: I go, we can also do the get We can
- 49:11Speaker 1: do the Gettysburg and the first active Missigan. I would
- 49:16Speaker 1: have loved to see them do the first active mission,
- 49:18Speaker 1: or at least a number that would have been amazing.
- 49:21Speaker 1: And then finally, my last one was the one you said,
- 49:25Speaker 1: but it's when Elliot's uterus starts glowing like ET made
- 49:29Speaker 1: me laugh. So yeah, it was like phoning home. It
- 49:34Speaker 1: was like that. It was like that the uterus phoned home.
- 49:36Speaker 1: Did somebody just have a baby? Elliot? Elliot can always
- 49:40Speaker 1: sends and it's just like eats his finger. I've said
- 49:45Speaker 1: that before in life and forgot that it was a
- 49:47Speaker 1: scrubs joke. No, but freaking eats chest lights up too.
- 49:50Speaker 1: It's not his heart like that's I forgot about that.
- 49:54Speaker 1: I always thought it was just his finger. No, no, no,
- 49:56Speaker 1: it's chest. That's what freaking turn on your heart lights about.
- 50:00Speaker 1: Don't turn on your hot light. I think let it
- 50:03Speaker 1: shine wherever you go. Don't you think Neil Diamond wrote
- 50:07Speaker 1: that before ET. No, he wrote that for ET. It's
- 50:10Speaker 1: an ET. No, look it up, it's about turn on
- 50:15Speaker 1: your hot light. Well, this is mind blowing if true,
- 50:20Speaker 1: let it shine wherever you go. You're telling me that
- 50:25Speaker 1: Neil Diamond's heart Light song is about eat. He was
- 50:28Speaker 1: so inspired by et that he wrote turn on Your
- 50:33Speaker 1: Hot Light, a reported twenty five thousand dollars in Lawyers
- 50:41Speaker 1: for MCA felt this song infringed upon the copyright of
- 50:43Speaker 1: the film What Let It Shine Wherever You Go? Wait
- 50:48Speaker 1: a second, they suit him, so yeah, succoring Rolling Stone
- 50:52Speaker 1: they did. Wait, ain't this dude wrote the song inspire
- 50:58Speaker 1: inspired by eat See and then they sued it. What
- 51:05Speaker 1: a dumb lawsuit turn on your Hot Light. Sorry you
- 51:09Speaker 1: can't talk about her alien that way, but a stupid lawsuit. Um,
- 51:15Speaker 1: all right, shoutout puppet theater. Elliot's uterus is glowing. My
- 51:18Speaker 1: mom had a uterus, I lived in it. Um. And
- 51:22Speaker 1: then Jad finally gets to be godfather, and then then
- 51:25Speaker 1: he gets to name the baby's name is Jennifer Dillon,
- 51:29Speaker 1: and that was that was the best squeal ever in
- 51:31Speaker 1: the history of squeals. So thrilled, He's so thrilled. Um.
- 51:42Speaker 1: And then, of course, as we mentioned at the top,
- 51:44Speaker 1: it's just beautiful. And I cued up thirty seconds of
- 51:47Speaker 1: the song because it's a beautiful song by Keene, which
- 51:49Speaker 1: is a band that's disappeared. And I just used to love,
- 51:52Speaker 1: I still love. I woke alone. It's to plus yo.
- 52:04Speaker 1: You know what my song is? Oh Sep, where have
- 52:11Speaker 1: you gone? Fire? Yeah? You know why it's fired. It's
- 52:17Speaker 1: fired because it was it dude that that band was
- 52:21Speaker 1: so dope. They had so many dope songs. Man. Yeah,
- 52:23Speaker 1: if you don't know, Keen, go back and listen to
- 52:25Speaker 1: keene that band. We need more from you, Keeneen, come back.
- 52:29Speaker 1: Let's get back together. I don't know what happened. I
- 52:32Speaker 1: had a great time backstage with y'all. Keen. If your
- 52:35Speaker 1: manager's listening, I please get back together. Do you remember
- 52:39Speaker 1: that time we hung out backstage with them at that
- 52:42Speaker 1: and they freaking when they tore down the house with
- 52:45Speaker 1: and if we have a man, and why don't we go?
- 52:49Speaker 1: The lead singer had the sickest voice. And do you
- 52:54Speaker 1: remember when they came and ate lunch at scrubs? No, yeah, dude,
- 52:58Speaker 1: they came to the whole, came to visit and sat
- 53:02Speaker 1: down and we ate lunch with them, This British band, dude.
- 53:05Speaker 1: And that's how and then me you raiden U Bill
- 53:10Speaker 1: was Bill with us when we went I think he was.
- 53:13Speaker 1: But we went to the freaking see that they met
- 53:15Speaker 1: that in New York. I told the story on here. Anyway,
- 53:19Speaker 1: I love them, and if anyone listening knows them, please
- 53:22Speaker 1: tell them to get back together. They're so talented. Um.
- 53:25Speaker 1: But anyway, I digress. That beautiful song um that's titled
- 53:31Speaker 1: a bad Dream if you want to listen to it,
- 53:33Speaker 1: I'm only allowed to play a little bit. Um is
- 53:36Speaker 1: underscores Judy's beautiful Goodbye to Laverne that I always see
- 53:42Speaker 1: people mentioning that's one of the most moving moments in
- 53:45Speaker 1: Scrubs Judy's Goodbye to Laverne. If anyone's ever lost someone
- 53:52Speaker 1: and and and had to say goodbye, is is I
- 53:55Speaker 1: have too many times? I H. It's just really so
- 54:00Speaker 1: elegantly done and so beautifully acted and h and I
- 54:04Speaker 1: just think Judy is such a gifted artist Scrubs. Wicky
- 54:08Speaker 1: mentioned that you can see a tear falling out of
- 54:12Speaker 1: Aloma's eye. I remember, which I remember, which is just
- 54:17Speaker 1: so beautiful, because I mean, the actress Aloma right was
- 54:25Speaker 1: so moved that she cried from from Judy's monologue. Dude,
- 54:31Speaker 1: I remember, I remember watching it and seeing Aloma crying
- 54:36Speaker 1: and being like, oh shit, because we were right there
- 54:39Speaker 1: for when for one of the shots we're right there.
- 54:42Speaker 1: It's a continuous shot. When she turns around, the three
- 54:45Speaker 1: of us are standing there and Judy comes out and
- 54:47Speaker 1: I hugger and everything like that. But I remember during
- 54:50Speaker 1: in that take you could see the tear coming down
- 54:55Speaker 1: Aloma's face. That was a very powerful moment. It was
- 54:58Speaker 1: a really really not only was the scene acted, not
- 55:02Speaker 1: only was the scene acted well, she she was very
- 55:08Speaker 1: strategic on how she did it too. I don't know
- 55:11Speaker 1: if Judy worked on I don't know what it was instinct,
- 55:13Speaker 1: I don't know what it was. But to be able
- 55:15Speaker 1: to start a scene and keep it on a joking
- 55:20Speaker 1: side and trying to be funny the whole way through,
- 55:24Speaker 1: and then getting to a moment where you can't be
- 55:27Speaker 1: funny anymore because it hurts so much, and being able
- 55:30Speaker 1: to convey that through camera is very, very difficult. It's
- 55:34Speaker 1: a very very challenging exercise in any form of acting
- 55:39Speaker 1: to do that. To be happy happy, I'm gonna project happiness,
- 55:43Speaker 1: but really I'm hurting, and then the tears come through, because,
- 55:46Speaker 1: at least for an actor, at least for me, when
- 55:48Speaker 1: I'm set on crying, I'm gonna trying get to crying,
- 55:51Speaker 1: you know what. I mean she didn't do that. She
- 55:53Speaker 1: started off. She had to start the scene, you know,
- 55:56Speaker 1: being in denial and trying to make some jokes and
- 55:59Speaker 1: just really elegantly done and uh and beautifully directed by
- 56:03Speaker 1: Victor Nelly. Yeah, well done. What else do we want
