- 0:10Speaker 1: Winter insurance spit true, I'm a check up things. Wait
- 0:17Speaker 1: the aut Hey, everybody, welcome to motherfucking Conspiracy the Show.
- 0:37Speaker 1: I am your host, Adam Todd Brown joining me as
- 0:40Speaker 1: co host. Connor mcspadden is in the cut. How's it going, man?
- 0:45Speaker 2: Am I being detained? Probably at some point it's gonna happen.
- 0:49Speaker 2: I get the feeling that I'm being detained.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Do you ever wonder if things are gonna get bad
- 0:53Speaker 1: enough that this podcast is the reason we end up
- 0:57Speaker 1: in guantanmo someday?
- 0:58Speaker 2: I do often, and I think about, Well, they've got
- 1:01Speaker 2: the data scraping technology. They can go through every podcasts
- 1:04Speaker 2: on iTunes and find out, you know, which ones are
- 1:07Speaker 2: talking shit with robots fairly reliably. I can imagine, you know,
- 1:11Speaker 2: I mean, seems like just a matter of time and.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Will I'm pretty sure at one point Spotify ran an
- 1:17Speaker 1: AI thing to see if anyone had unlicensed music in
- 1:21Speaker 1: their podcasts, because it turned out we had like three
- 1:25Speaker 1: that had been up for years and years and years,
- 1:27Speaker 1: and then all of a sudden Spotify sent me notifications
- 1:30Speaker 1: about all three at the same time. They had to
- 1:33Speaker 1: have run some sort of AI thing, sure identified it
- 1:37Speaker 1: and yeah, it can definitely be fine tuned to catch
- 1:41Speaker 1: us calling Trump a fascist, I'm sure. But until then,
- 1:45Speaker 1: let's get this money talk about Yeah, Ice, all the
- 1:49Speaker 1: money we're raking in doing this podcast, fucking setting us up.
- 1:53Speaker 2: We'd be better off if we just became Ice agents.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, at least we'd have that signing bonus. All.
- 1:59Speaker 1: That's good stuff to look forward to, provided we didn't
- 2:02Speaker 1: get hanged in the Hague somewhay.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Are you gonna spend your signing bonus on? I'm gonna
- 2:06Speaker 2: buy a fully loaded forward Ranger.
- 2:08Speaker 1: That's a good choice. I would probably spend it on
- 2:11Speaker 1: something stupid like graded sports cards, hoping they go up
- 2:15Speaker 1: in value. Then that player will blow out as ACL
- 2:17Speaker 1: the next day, and then I'm just out. That's a
- 2:20Speaker 1: thing I've discovered investing in sports cards. There's a thing
- 2:23Speaker 1: I call the Adam just bought a bunch of your
- 2:25Speaker 1: rookie cards curse, and it befalls everyone I invest in.
- 2:31Speaker 1: They get some sort of grizzly ass injury, or decide
- 2:35Speaker 1: they've given up on sports, like Naomi Osaka. It's fine.
- 2:38Speaker 1: We're not talking about sports cards.
- 2:40Speaker 2: We're talking about Yu gi oh cards. The only successful
- 2:42Speaker 2: commodities trading. I've ever done is when I bought a
- 2:44Speaker 2: bunch of Gateway to the Dark World structure decks and
- 2:47Speaker 2: I sat on them for like five years, and I
- 2:50Speaker 2: went back to my local card show and I flipped
- 2:52Speaker 2: them off for it was at least double my money. Yeah.
- 2:55Speaker 1: I do that with sports cards a lot. It's good times.
- 2:57Speaker 1: So let's talk about the broad View. That is what
- 3:01Speaker 1: this week's episode is about. The Broadview six and Operation
- 3:06Speaker 1: Midway Blitz, which vaguely rhymes but not enough. Operation Midway
- 3:12Speaker 1: Blitz was an ICE slash CBP slash fucking National Guard FBI,
- 3:19Speaker 1: basically an invasion of Chicago started September ninth, twenty twenty five,
- 3:25Speaker 1: and the original intent, as stated by DHS, was to
- 3:29Speaker 1: arrest undocumented immigrants with criminal records, which, for the record,
- 3:34Speaker 1: that's all they do. Connor show some respect.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Yeah, they're not out there targeting anybody who is darker
- 3:43Speaker 2: than Mario Lopez.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Yeah, those school kids had it coming. They were a
- 3:47Speaker 1: threat to this nation. Reminder, Trump sent an ICE along
- 3:51Speaker 1: with National Guard troops to La DC and Chicago and
- 3:54Speaker 1: all those other cities I think Memphis, Charlotte. At one
- 3:58Speaker 1: point it came hot on the heels of him and
- 4:00Speaker 1: Pete hag Seth's meeting in front of eight hundred top
- 4:04Speaker 1: military officials, where Trump told them they should view being
- 4:07Speaker 1: deployed to American cities as quote training grounds for our
- 4:10Speaker 1: military end quote, and that some Americans are fighting a
- 4:14Speaker 1: war from within, and that identifying the enemy would be
- 4:18Speaker 1: difficult because they don't wear uniforms.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Almost as if to say, just shoot whoever.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, anyone who seems mad, just shoot them. And
- 4:27Speaker 1: to the military's credit, it didn't really come to that.
- 4:31Speaker 1: I even heard suggestions that the military would be used
- 4:35Speaker 1: to protect protesters from ice, which I don't think that
- 4:39Speaker 1: ever happened either. But at least the National Guard wasn't
- 4:42Speaker 1: gunning down protesters in the streets.
- 4:45Speaker 2: It's just the picture of the two spider mans pointing
- 4:47Speaker 2: at each other. I mean, isn't that real.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Yeah, And it's a low barred across to not murder
- 4:53Speaker 1: protesters in the street. It's the kind of thing we
- 4:55Speaker 1: claim we invade countries over. Just ask Iran, yes we cares.
- 5:00Speaker 1: He cares so much about doing that. Yeah, we really
- 5:03Speaker 1: are a humanitarian project, most moral military in the world,
- 5:07Speaker 1: I say, yeah, absolutely so. When they announced the launch
- 5:11Speaker 1: of Operation Midway Blitz in Chicago. DHS said the operation
- 5:15Speaker 1: was to be carried out in honor of quote a
- 5:17Speaker 1: Chicago area woman end quote named Katie Abraham.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Just say Roseville, this Roseville like that.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Well, it's not even that Katie Abraham was killed earlier
- 5:27Speaker 1: in the year by an undocumented drunk driver in Urbana, Illinois.
- 5:33Speaker 1: And listen, that is clearly a tragedy. But Urbana is
- 5:37Speaker 1: nowhere near Chicago. That is deep southern Illinois. You might
- 5:42Speaker 1: as well be in Missouri. They probably had slaves in
- 5:46Speaker 1: Urbana during the fucking Civil War.
- 5:49Speaker 2: I thought you're going to say in twenty twenty five.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Yeah, probably that. But I mean, Illinois is generally a
- 5:55Speaker 1: pretty progressive place for being in the heart of the Midwest.
- 6:00Speaker 1: People of that when they're like, oh the flyover States, motherfucker.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Detroit is in the Midwest, Chicago is in the Midwest.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Like all these huge cities with huge diverse populations.
- 6:12Speaker 2: You've really got to get down to Metropolis before you
- 6:14Speaker 2: find some real racist Yeah, have you ever been to Metropolis, Illinois?
- 6:18Speaker 2: Giant Superman statue so you would probably remember it.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think I've been to Metropolis, Illinois.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Crazy, it's kind of an ironically named It's their tiniest
- 6:26Speaker 2: town called Metropolis.
- 6:28Speaker 1: I could, I could see that. I have to check
- 6:29Speaker 1: it out next time I'm in Illinois. Haven't been back
- 6:31Speaker 1: to Illinois other than doing comedy. I haven't returned to
- 6:35Speaker 1: Illinois like to visit since I think the fucking nineties.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Wow, it's it's.
- 6:40Speaker 1: An interesting town where I'm from Peoria.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Look it up. Oh, I know about it. Richard PRIs
- 6:45Speaker 2: from there.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Yeah. So I will never be the most famous comedian
- 6:48Speaker 1: from the You're Screwed Illinois. There's absolutely no chance. But
- 6:54Speaker 1: I also, I guess dedicating this operation to Katie Abraham
- 6:58Speaker 1: makes sense because Operation Midway Blitz was described as Trump
- 7:02Speaker 1: sending ice to Chicago, but it actually covered all of
- 7:06Speaker 1: Illinois and neighboring Lake County, Indiana, which Lake County is
- 7:10Speaker 1: where Gary, Indiana is, and if you know, you know,
- 7:15Speaker 1: Gary is a wild fucking place.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Wild fucking guy too.
- 7:21Speaker 1: It's where the Jackson family is from, if nothing else,
- 7:24Speaker 1: So argue with the wildness there.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Do you think that these ice agents were listening to
- 7:29Speaker 2: Kanye West to get just pumped up for their trip
- 7:31Speaker 2: to Chicago? You know, probably Blast and Homecoming and Touch
- 7:35Speaker 2: the Sky.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Wouldn't surprise me through the wire. All the fucking hits.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Can't tell me nothing. The early stuff actually annoying ICE agents.
- 7:44Speaker 2: They probably liked the They probably like a certain era
- 7:47Speaker 2: of Kanye with the Heile Hitler era.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Oh I'm sure. Yeah, his most recent stuff. Probably not
- 7:54Speaker 1: the George Bush doesn't care about black people era, but
- 7:58Speaker 1: bring that Kanye back.
- 7:59Speaker 2: God.
- 8:00Speaker 1: So, protests started over this operation pretty much as soon
- 8:04Speaker 1: as it launched, probably in large part due to Trump
- 8:07Speaker 1: posting an AI generated image of himself as an officer
- 8:11Speaker 1: from the film Apocalypse Now with the caption Chicago is
- 8:15Speaker 1: about to find out why it's called the Department of War.
- 8:18Speaker 1: I could see how that would put a population on
- 8:20Speaker 1: edge a little.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Bit via wrestling promo. That's his own kind of executive order.
- 8:27Speaker 2: It's a post it's government by post.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Truth Social should have a dot gov web address.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a state service.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Yeah, it's state media, is what it is. I know
- 8:38Speaker 1: we're supposed to not have that in this country, but
- 8:42Speaker 1: that's absolutely what truth Social is. It is a mouthpiece
- 8:46Speaker 1: of the American government, but so is Twitter twe The
- 8:50Speaker 1: revolution is on threads and blue sky. You're on blue
- 8:55Speaker 1: sky at all? Oh, I hate it the woke scolds.
- 8:58Speaker 2: I was about to say, it's always kind of struck
- 8:59Speaker 2: me as a bit like an MSNBC crowd.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it's it's an interesting place in the wrong way.
- 9:06Speaker 2: That's why the true revolutionaries are on threads.
- 9:09Speaker 1: At least people don't make fun of you for using
- 9:11Speaker 1: fancy words like on threads. I posted a picture of
- 9:16Speaker 1: I bought a used iPod like the clip on kind
- 9:20Speaker 1: with the touchscreen, and I didn't realize that the one
- 9:25Speaker 1: I bought had words of encouragement from some dude's wife
- 9:29Speaker 1: engraved on the back. And I posted about that, and
- 9:33Speaker 1: I used the word emblazoned, and man, people were up
- 9:36Speaker 1: in arms about me using that word.
- 9:38Speaker 2: That's not even a five dollars word.
- 9:40Speaker 1: No, someone actually said, who uses the word emblazoned. It's
- 9:44Speaker 1: like people who are accurately describing a thing that's happening.
- 9:47Speaker 2: People that feel like the word written is not strong enough.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Yeah. Nuts. So back to these protests. They got significantly
- 9:56Speaker 1: larger on September twelfth after ICE agents in frank Glenn
- 10:00Speaker 1: Park shot and killed Silverado Viegas Gonzalez during a traffic stop.
- 10:05Speaker 1: Silverado is a cool fucking name. I've never heard that before.
- 10:09Speaker 2: For a guy. Yeah, he's a full truck of a guy.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I've only heard that in relation to trucks. DHS
- 10:15Speaker 1: claimed Gonzalez struck an agent with his car and dragged
- 10:19Speaker 1: him before being shot, but bodycam footage from a different
- 10:22Speaker 1: ICE agent later refuted that claim, showing no ICE agents
- 10:27Speaker 1: were injured in the altercation. Go figure.
- 10:30Speaker 2: They got another angle from his buddy f one fifty Ramiroz.
- 10:34Speaker 1: About three weeks into the operation, on September thirtieth, ICE
- 10:38Speaker 1: conducted a late night raid in the South Shore neighborhood
- 10:41Speaker 1: of Chicago.
- 10:42Speaker 2: You remember this shit, Yeah, this was pretty uh fucking disturbing.
- 10:46Speaker 1: They used a fucking Blackhawk helicopter to repel agents down
- 10:52Speaker 1: into a high rise apartment complex for clout.
- 10:57Speaker 2: They didn't need to do that. They did this for
- 10:59Speaker 2: Op Cloud.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Yeah, this was absolutely a showing off kind of thing. This,
- 11:05Speaker 1: I believe is where that famous fuck them kids moment
- 11:09Speaker 1: from ICE history happened where someone was like, hey, some
- 11:13Speaker 1: of the people you got hog tied and zip tied
- 11:16Speaker 1: in front of the building, those are kids, and an
- 11:18Speaker 1: ICE agent said, fuck them kids. It's like, wouldn't you
- 11:21Speaker 1: like to you fucking pedophile. After the raid was announced,
- 11:25Speaker 1: Stephen Miller said the building was filled with trend de
- 11:28Speaker 1: Aragua gang members. DHS said they arrested thirty seven people
- 11:33Speaker 1: during the raid. Later statements by DHS identified only two
- 11:37Speaker 1: of those arrested as actual gang members. I wonder how
- 11:41Speaker 1: much taxpayer money went into rounding up those two gang.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Members for one nineteenth of their operation to be successful.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Yeah, that is where your tax dollars are going. Just
- 11:53Speaker 1: a reminder, ICE has the largest budget of any law
- 11:57Speaker 1: enforcement agency in the fucking world right now.
- 12:01Speaker 2: One nineteenth is like a five percent success ratio. So
- 12:04Speaker 2: for every twenty people they round up, one of them
- 12:07Speaker 2: is actually a gang member or someone with a criminal record.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's absolutely how it has been going lately.
- 12:14Speaker 1: They say they're out here arresting gang members and violent offenders.
- 12:18Speaker 2: They're not.
- 12:19Speaker 1: They're arresting the wives of military members. In shit, They're
- 12:23Speaker 1: arresting landscapers and high school kids. It's fucking wild. So,
- 12:29Speaker 1: in addition to mostly not rounding up violent criminals like
- 12:33Speaker 1: DHS said it would, Operation Midway Blitz also resulted in
- 12:38Speaker 1: a bunch of arrests for non immigration related offenses, and
- 12:43Speaker 1: if you can believe it, the prosecution in those cases
- 12:45Speaker 1: are not going well for the government. On March twenty sixth,
- 12:50Speaker 1: the Chicago Sun Times reported that there have been thirty
- 12:53Speaker 1: two known defendants accused of non immigration crimes in relation
- 12:58Speaker 1: to Operation Midway Bloit. A lot of those people were
- 13:01Speaker 1: accused of assaulting or resisting federal officers. Twenty of those
- 13:05Speaker 1: defendants have already been cleared, with grand jury's refusing to
- 13:09Speaker 1: indict at least three, and one defendant whose case actually
- 13:12Speaker 1: went to trial was acquitted. And we'll talk about that
- 13:15Speaker 1: one in a second. So it's not going great or
- 13:18Speaker 1: the government when it comes to trying to convince the
- 13:22Speaker 1: courts that protesting is an act of terror, which is
- 13:25Speaker 1: kind of what they're doing. Yay, we did in America.
- 13:32Speaker 2: We're down to checks and balance. We only got one
- 13:35Speaker 2: balance left.
- 13:37Speaker 1: While three of the defendants at least signed deferred prosecution agreements,
- 13:42Speaker 1: meaning they promised to abide by the law for the
- 13:45Speaker 1: foreseeable future in exchange for not being prosecuted, the vast
- 13:48Speaker 1: majority whose cases aren't still pending, we're just straight up
- 13:52Speaker 1: dismissed by courts. I know it's a shocking allegation, but
- 13:56Speaker 1: it could maybe lead one to believe that the government
- 13:59Speaker 1: is not being depletely honest about the facts when sending
- 14:02Speaker 1: these cases for prosecution in outlandish claim. I know, but
- 14:06Speaker 1: on my government, Yeah, not my president at all. Let's
- 14:10Speaker 1: talk about one of the most ill fated prosecutions that
- 14:15Speaker 1: emanated from Operation Midway Blitz. Sorry to use such a
- 14:19Speaker 1: big word like emanated for the Red's crowd out there,
- 14:23Speaker 1: This is maybe the scariest of them all. That is
- 14:25Speaker 1: the prosecution of Juan Espinoza Martinez. He was arrested on
- 14:30Speaker 1: October six, twenty twenty five, in burr Ridge, Illinois, on
- 14:34Speaker 1: charges of participating in an attempted murder for higher plot
- 14:38Speaker 1: tarding then Customs and Border Patrol Chief Greg Bovino. This
- 14:43Speaker 1: is a guy who was prosecuted for sending a text
- 14:47Speaker 1: message essentially. There is a quote in the indictment that
- 14:52Speaker 1: DHS put out. It says HSI Chicago received a screenshot
- 14:56Speaker 1: of a Snapchat conversation from a user named Wan appearing
- 15:00Speaker 1: to place a two thousand dollars bounty for information quote
- 15:05Speaker 1: Kuondo lo Agarin, which translates to when they catch him
- 15:09Speaker 1: and a ten thousand dollars reward if you take him down.
- 15:12Speaker 1: A third text says lk on him, which is a
- 15:15Speaker 1: reference to Latin King's gang being the ones who put
- 15:18Speaker 1: out the call for the hit. Does that sound like
- 15:21Speaker 1: someone calling for a hit or someone saying, hey, I
- 15:24Speaker 1: heard this gang put out a hit on someone.
- 15:26Speaker 2: I know that when I was wrong with the Latin Kings,
- 15:28Speaker 2: we were a lot more discreet than this.
- 15:30Speaker 1: There's nothing in these text messages where this guy is like, hey,
- 15:35Speaker 1: I will give you ten thousand dollars to kill Greg Bovino.
- 15:39Speaker 1: I will give you two thousand dollars for information about
- 15:42Speaker 1: where Greg Bovino is. He is literally just telling people
- 15:45Speaker 1: a thing he heard.
- 15:47Speaker 2: Well, it's almost like, can you get arrested for being
- 15:49Speaker 2: invited to a cockfight? I was just invited. I didn't go,
- 15:52Speaker 2: I just got the invite.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Yeah. And what's really unfortunate here? And just another sign
- 16:00Speaker 1: of how don't ever think it's too crazy that the
- 16:02Speaker 1: government might have people in your circle of influence somewhere.
- 16:07Speaker 1: The reason this guy got found out is one of
- 16:09Speaker 1: the friends he texted, it turns out, was a government informant,
- 16:12Speaker 1: and that person passed this information on to his government
- 16:16Speaker 1: handlers and now here. This guy is on trial for
- 16:20Speaker 1: murder for hire because he sent a couple text messages.
- 16:24Speaker 1: They're everywhere. Fucking spies are everywhere.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Ops man.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Yeah, they I bring it up all the time, Department
- 16:31Speaker 1: of Justice. They have a sixty thousand strong team of
- 16:36Speaker 1: spies in the United States that they've been building for
- 16:39Speaker 1: more than a decade. Only Newsweek ever reported on it.
- 16:43Speaker 1: I guess we just don't care.
- 16:44Speaker 2: Yeah, how many Okay, roughly three hundred million people fight
- 16:48Speaker 2: about sixty thousand. That's one spy for every five thousand people.
- 16:52Speaker 2: That's pretty good coverage.
- 16:53Speaker 1: And then you take those five thousand people and whittle
- 16:56Speaker 1: it down to how many would the government actually want
- 16:58Speaker 1: a spy on, not all five thousands, So then it
- 17:02Speaker 1: becomes way easier to cover everyone you would want to cover.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Some of those people are going to be babies, some
- 17:08Speaker 1: of them are just going to be people you know
- 17:09Speaker 1: you don't need to spy on. So yeah, sixty thousand
- 17:12Speaker 1: is a lot. It's more agents than the CIA has undercover,
- 17:17Speaker 1: and those motherfuckers cover the whole globe. So yeah, if
- 17:20Speaker 1: you ever get that sink and feeling that someone knew
- 17:23Speaker 1: who showed up in your life might be a fed
- 17:25Speaker 1: fucking go with it. What's it cost to cut that
- 17:27Speaker 1: person out of your life? Nothing? Nothing at all.
- 17:31Speaker 2: Should listen to every paranoia and stay isolated and alone
- 17:35Speaker 2: kind of it is the safe way to go.
- 17:37Speaker 1: You have enough friends. So this case actually made it
- 17:42Speaker 1: all the way to trial, which is rare for these
- 17:46Speaker 1: and a jury deliberated for all of four hours before
- 17:50Speaker 1: returning a not guilty verdict. This is a quote from
- 17:55Speaker 1: Martinez's lawyer sending a message about gossip that you heard
- 17:58Speaker 1: in the neighborhood. It's not murder for hire and quote.
- 18:02Speaker 1: And despite that, the government did still smear this guy
- 18:06Speaker 1: as being a depraved gang member after word of this
- 18:10Speaker 1: prosecution came out, because if you can't find him guilty,
- 18:13Speaker 1: at least try him in the media. And I'm sure
- 18:15Speaker 1: he's going to get deported.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Also, if wanting to know sketchy should makes you a
- 18:19Speaker 2: depraved gang member, then aren't we all depraved gang members?
- 18:22Speaker 1: So one of the prosecutions that is still pending is
- 18:26Speaker 1: that of the Broadview six. And once you got a
- 18:30Speaker 1: number after your name, you're a pretty big deal, like
- 18:33Speaker 1: the Chicago was it the Chicago eight?
- 18:36Speaker 2: I thought it was well, I know, no, I'm thinking
- 18:38Speaker 2: of the Central Park five, right.
- 18:40Speaker 1: There's also from the sixties. There's a really good Netflix
- 18:44Speaker 1: movie about it. I believe it's called the Chicago either
- 18:46Speaker 1: the Chicago Eight or the Chicago Nine because there was
- 18:49Speaker 1: a certain number and then one of them got dropped
- 18:51Speaker 1: off the prosecution at one point. But it's a similar
- 18:55Speaker 1: thing where the government was trying to sort of make
- 18:58Speaker 1: up charges in relation to protesting to make it seem
- 19:02Speaker 1: like it was terrorism. There's a Netflix movie about it.
- 19:04Speaker 1: It's really good star Sasha Baron Cohen, but it's not
- 19:07Speaker 1: a comedy.
- 19:08Speaker 2: Good stuff.
- 19:08Speaker 1: So the Broadview six Broadview is the name of an
- 19:11Speaker 1: ICE facility in the Chicago area where a lot of
- 19:15Speaker 1: protests related to Operation Midway Blitz have happened. It's the
- 19:19Speaker 1: spot where in twenty twenty five, journalist and congressional candidate
- 19:24Speaker 1: kat Aboo Gazela was violently slammed to the ground by
- 19:28Speaker 1: ICE agents on video during the protest. Wasn't her last
- 19:32Speaker 1: high profile interaction with the government. In October twenty twenty five,
- 19:36Speaker 1: the DOJ brought federal charges against her and five other
- 19:40Speaker 1: activists in relation to a protest outside the Broadview facility
- 19:44Speaker 1: that happened on September twenty six, twenty twenty five. According
- 19:47Speaker 1: to the indictment quote, the defendants and others allegedly crowded
- 19:51Speaker 1: together in the front and side of the government vehicle,
- 19:55Speaker 1: stood in its path, banged on the car and windows,
- 19:59Speaker 1: and pushed again to hinder and impede its movement. The
- 20:02Speaker 1: conspirators broke one of the vehicle's side mirrors and the
- 20:07Speaker 1: rear windshield wiper, and etched a derogatory message into the
- 20:11Speaker 1: body of the vehicle end quote. That derogatory message pig.
- 20:16Speaker 1: What's especially wild about this is that this obviously spontaneous
- 20:22Speaker 1: act of protest was charged as a conspiracy. As if
- 20:26Speaker 1: these six people planned in advance to crowd around this
- 20:30Speaker 1: one vehicle to make it move a little bit slower
- 20:34Speaker 1: for a while. That would be such an insane amount
- 20:36Speaker 1: of coordination and planning for a thing that just happens
- 20:39Speaker 1: naturally at these protests.
- 20:41Speaker 2: It's an expression of love, like blowing a kiss. Yeah
- 20:46Speaker 2: it just did. You do it when you feel like
- 20:47Speaker 2: doing it.
- 20:49Speaker 1: The five others who were charged in this Michael Babbitt
- 20:52Speaker 1: sixty two, Andrew Martin twenty seven, Catherine Sharp twenty nine,
- 20:57Speaker 1: Brian Straw thirty eight, Joscelyn Walsh thirty one. This is
- 21:01Speaker 1: a quote from Kat a Boogazela in a statement to
- 21:04Speaker 1: the Intercept. This is a political prosecution and a gross
- 21:07Speaker 1: attempt at silencing dissent, a rite protected under the First Amendment.
- 21:12Speaker 1: This case has he had another attempt by the Trump
- 21:14Speaker 1: administration to criminalize protest and punish those who dare to
- 21:18Speaker 1: speak up. That's why I'm going to fight these unjust charges.
- 21:22Speaker 1: End quote that does seem like what this is. This
- 21:25Speaker 1: is I think not just the Trump administration trying to
- 21:28Speaker 1: prosecute people for protesting, but also trying to scare other
- 21:33Speaker 1: people into not protesting it.
- 21:35Speaker 2: Thim really is thinking that one of these guys was
- 21:37Speaker 2: sixty two. He should have just been like, what, how
- 21:39Speaker 2: could I possibly know for thirty year olds?
- 21:42Speaker 1: Yeah, that's the thing.
- 21:43Speaker 2: When would that happen?
- 21:44Speaker 1: I guess there is some connection between four of these people.
- 21:48Speaker 1: I think they all sort of worked on Kat's campaign
- 21:52Speaker 1: a little bit. But just the idea that this would
- 21:55Speaker 1: be a conspiracy, that you would get together and plan
- 21:58Speaker 1: something like this, that's insane. If you're getting together to conspire,
- 22:03Speaker 1: you're going to do some real shit. You're not just
- 22:06Speaker 1: going to stand in front of a car and bang
- 22:07Speaker 1: on the hood for a little while. It's not like
- 22:10Speaker 1: they even stopped the car from leaving. They just made
- 22:14Speaker 1: it a little more difficult or a while, which would
- 22:16Speaker 1: be an insane thing to conspire to.
- 22:19Speaker 2: Just kind of what a protest is. You go block
- 22:20Speaker 2: the freeway and you make it a little more difficult
- 22:22Speaker 2: to use the freeway for a while.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Yeah, it's one of the most common protesting tactics you see.
- 22:28Speaker 1: And in her statement to the Intercept a boogaze La
- 22:31Speaker 1: also called out the irony of the Trump administration prosecuting
- 22:35Speaker 1: people for violence at protests. Here's a quote. As I
- 22:39Speaker 1: and others exercised our First Amendment rights, ICE has hit, dragged, thrown,
- 22:44Speaker 1: shot with pepper balls and tear gas hundreds of protesters,
- 22:48Speaker 1: myself included, simply because we had the gall to say,
- 22:52Speaker 1: masked men abducting our neighbors and terrorizing our community cannot
- 22:57Speaker 1: be the new normal. End quote, and just a reminder,
- 23:00Speaker 1: broadview is also where ICE agents shot a pastor in
- 23:04Speaker 1: the head with a pepper ball while standing on a rooftop.
- 23:07Speaker 2: Well, he was praying, So yeah, you never know what
- 23:10Speaker 2: he could have been summoning a gin to attack us.
- 23:13Speaker 1: Yeah, or what if Jesus came back and intervened on
- 23:16Speaker 1: that guy's behalf?
- 23:18Speaker 2: That would have been fair.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Yeah, you got to put a stop to that with
- 23:21Speaker 1: a fucking pepper bomb to the head. So in February,
- 23:26Speaker 1: a federal judge set the trial date for the Broadview
- 23:29Speaker 1: six as May twenty sixth, with jury selection starting that day.
- 23:33Speaker 1: The judge agreed with both sides that a questionnaire should
- 23:36Speaker 1: be sent out to potential jurors beforehand. Here's a quote,
- 23:39Speaker 1: it would be kind of nice to have a pre
- 23:41Speaker 1: screened pool coming in that Tuesday end quote.
- 23:45Speaker 2: Well gee.
- 23:47Speaker 1: She also mentioned that it would be good to know
- 23:49Speaker 1: how jury selection worked. In a different Midway Blitz related prosecution,
- 23:53Speaker 1: Juan Espinoza Martinez. That was actually a bit of unfortunate
- 23:59Speaker 1: foreshadowing for the prosecution, seeing as how Jan Espinoza Martinez
- 24:04Speaker 1: is the one defendant who has actually gone to trial
- 24:07Speaker 1: and he was acquitted. If convicted, the protesters here could
- 24:11Speaker 1: face up to six years in prison for the conspiracy
- 24:14Speaker 1: charges in eight years for the intimidation charges. Who knew
- 24:18Speaker 1: intimidation carries that kind of prison sentence. So like, if
- 24:23Speaker 1: I'm like Connor, I'm going to punch you in the stomach,
- 24:25Speaker 1: you don't shut up, I go to prison for eight
- 24:28Speaker 1: years for that.
- 24:28Speaker 2: I was going to say, every woman I ever met
- 24:30Speaker 2: could go to jail for eight years.
- 24:33Speaker 1: That does seem like a long, long sentence for something
- 24:36Speaker 1: like that. In the article will link to about the
- 24:39Speaker 1: trial date, it's noted that it will happen well after
- 24:42Speaker 1: the March seventeenth Democratic primary in Illinois that has obviously
- 24:46Speaker 1: since coming gone, And sadly kat Abugazela did not win
- 24:51Speaker 1: that primary. So I don't know. Does she still get
- 24:53Speaker 1: to run? I don't even I don't know how that works.
- 24:55Speaker 1: Maybe she gets to run as an independent, was it?
- 24:58Speaker 2: Yeah? I guess so if it was a primary, would
- 24:59Speaker 2: have for the nomination of her party. So yeah, yeah,
- 25:02Speaker 2: maybe she wants to run as a wig.
- 25:05Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, so joined the Green Party or something.
- 25:08Speaker 2: No one's using the no one's using the wig brand.
- 25:11Speaker 2: You can honestly have it mean whatever you wanted. You
- 25:13Speaker 2: could take the whole ip in any direction you felt like.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm surprised, just because of the old timey connotations
- 25:20Speaker 1: that there hasn't been an offshoot of the Trump faction
- 25:24Speaker 1: that it's like we're the Whig Party again.
- 25:26Speaker 2: Mahwah.
- 25:27Speaker 1: Yeah. So, even though it hasn't gone to trial yet,
- 25:31Speaker 1: the Broadview six case already seems to be falling apart
- 25:35Speaker 1: under the considerable might of how fucking weak it is.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Shortly after the trial date was set, prosecutors agreed to
- 25:42Speaker 1: narrow the scope of the case and remove language from
- 25:45Speaker 1: the indictment alleging that the six conspired to injure the
- 25:50Speaker 1: Ice agent in the vehicle they surrounded. They were also
- 25:53Speaker 1: accused of conspiracy to prevent the agent from discharging his
- 25:57Speaker 1: duties and conspiracy to injure his prop That's the.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Most American thing I've ever heard in my life. Injure
- 26:03Speaker 2: your property like property has it.
- 26:06Speaker 1: The first of those two is likely to stay in
- 26:08Speaker 1: the indictment, but prosecutors did indicate they'd maybe be reviewing
- 26:12Speaker 1: the injure his property language also, and that's probably because
- 26:17Speaker 1: video of this incident has come out and it shows
- 26:19Speaker 1: none of what they say happened. In that same hearing,
- 26:24Speaker 1: the prosecution admitted that the scope of the conspiracy was
- 26:27Speaker 1: just that one day of the protest, and that it
- 26:30Speaker 1: happened as a spontaneous thing with no evidence of explicit agreement.
- 26:36Speaker 1: Maybe I just have a loose grasp of the definition
- 26:39Speaker 1: of words, but I think they're describing the opposite of
- 26:42Speaker 1: a conspiracy. I think a conspiracy has to have some
- 26:45Speaker 1: level of planning an agreement to be a conspiracy.
- 26:49Speaker 2: They're describing as spontaneousy whatever.
- 26:52Speaker 1: That is also the lead prosecutor in the case, Assistant
- 26:55Speaker 1: US Attorney Sherry Mecklenberg, withdrew from the case on February.
- 27:01Speaker 2: Mecklenburg, sorry, I just said that this sounded like a
- 27:04Speaker 2: good name to shout with contempt in.
- 27:06Speaker 1: Your bodycam footage of the incident that was released during
- 27:10Speaker 1: these preliminary hearings is also likely to hurt the prosecution's case.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Shows that the defendants were walking back and forth across
- 27:17Speaker 1: a public sidewalk, doing something called a jericho walk, which
- 27:21Speaker 1: is apparently a very common protesting tactic, when the suv
- 27:25Speaker 1: chose to drive directly into the crowd. It shows no
- 27:29Speaker 1: evidence that the crowd tried to surround the vehicle. That
- 27:32Speaker 1: just happened naturally because a car was driving through them.
- 27:35Speaker 1: The video even shows kat A Boogazela warning other protesters
- 27:39Speaker 1: to move when they'd inadvertently crossed over into private property.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Some of the defendants are literally seen walking or running
- 27:47Speaker 1: away from the car. So someone's lying here and I
- 27:51Speaker 1: think it's the government.
- 27:52Speaker 2: Sounds pretty open and shit.
- 27:53Speaker 1: Yeah. In March, things got even worse for the prosecution
- 27:57Speaker 1: when they had to drop charges against two of the
- 27:59Speaker 1: six odd view defendants. That would be Catherine Sharp, a
- 28:02Speaker 1: former candidate for Cook County Commissioner, and Joslyn Walsh, a
- 28:07Speaker 1: musician and garden store owner who had no connection to
- 28:11Speaker 1: any of the defendants at all. Both were cleared of
- 28:14Speaker 1: any wrongdoing in the charges were dismissed without prejudice, meaning
- 28:18Speaker 1: they can't be refiled again.
- 28:20Speaker 2: Is Joslyn Walsh single? She sounds cool, She's a musician,
- 28:23Speaker 2: she's into playants, Yeah, pecifcally involved.
- 28:26Speaker 1: She did bring a guitar to the protest, never mind. Yeah,
- 28:30Speaker 1: which don't bring uninvited acoustic guitars to gatherings.
- 28:33Speaker 2: No one, Yeah, any gathering, Yeah.
- 28:36Speaker 1: Unless it's like an acoustic show.
- 28:38Speaker 2: Yeah, then you're under the shade of your own particular
- 28:41Speaker 2: freak flag. But not none of my gathering toots.
- 28:45Speaker 1: No thanks, or unless you're famous like I remember Springsteen
- 28:48Speaker 1: showed up and played some acoustic songs at a protest once.
- 28:51Speaker 2: That's fine, Springsteen ain't listening, Yeah.
- 28:54Speaker 1: Exactly so. Even the former lead prosecutor, Mecklenburg Berg, who
- 29:00Speaker 1: left the case in February, admitted in front of the
- 29:03Speaker 1: judge presiding over the case back in January that the
- 29:07Speaker 1: charges are at least a little politically motivated, which is
- 29:10Speaker 1: probably why she's not on this case anymore. I would guess, I.
- 29:14Speaker 2: Would hope maybe that old Mecklenberg's got half a crumb
- 29:17Speaker 2: of principles after all.
- 29:19Speaker 1: Could be so with that, the four remaining defendants in
- 29:23Speaker 1: March asked the judge to force prosecutors to hand over
- 29:26Speaker 1: records that might show the White House improperly influence this indictment.
- 29:31Speaker 1: Here's a quote from a court filing. The record readily
- 29:34Speaker 1: shows how the Trump administration and its allies have expressly
- 29:38Speaker 1: targeted mis Aboogazela on numerous occasions in response to her
- 29:42Speaker 1: public criticisms of it and its aggressive immigration enforcement tactics.
- 29:48Speaker 1: End quote. The motion came one day after the charges
- 29:50Speaker 1: against Sharp and Walsh were dropped. Motion also noted that
- 29:54Speaker 1: Laura Lumer, a far right influencer who for sure has
- 29:57Speaker 1: access to Trump praised the agent who body slammed cat
- 30:01Speaker 1: Abugazela during the September nineteenth protest outside the Broadview Facility.
- 30:06Speaker 1: It also pointed to allegations that Abougazela had been added
- 30:10Speaker 1: to Trump's enemies list. According to some media reports, Man,
- 30:15Speaker 1: what a feather in your cap. I know President's enemy.
- 30:18Speaker 2: All you did was you went for a walk in
- 30:20Speaker 2: the park, you bought your reusable water bottle, you went
- 30:24Speaker 2: to go walk three miles because you don't like the
- 30:26Speaker 2: government or whatever, and now you're an enemy of the state. Yeah,
- 30:29Speaker 2: that's kind of amazing.
- 30:30Speaker 1: I'm going to be bummed if I'm not on the
- 30:33Speaker 1: enemy's list. I gotta at least be on like the
- 30:36Speaker 1: second team. I'm the.
- 30:38Speaker 2: B tier foes.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I gotta at least be a benchwarmer on
- 30:42Speaker 1: that list.
- 30:43Speaker 2: You gotta be on the nuisance list.
- 30:45Speaker 1: I told you, I'm convinced Trump mentioned me at a
- 30:48Speaker 1: campaign rally once.
- 30:50Speaker 2: Yes, you did. You did break that down for me once,
- 30:51Speaker 2: and I believe you, and.
- 30:53Speaker 1: I fucking stand by it. So I know I'm on
- 30:56Speaker 1: the radar, But am I on the list? That's what
- 31:00Speaker 1: I need to know. And if not, put me on
- 31:03Speaker 1: the fucking list already.
- 31:04Speaker 2: What the hell you've been downgraded from a nuisance to
- 31:07Speaker 2: a bother.
- 31:08Speaker 1: Here's another quote from the court filing. No defendants scratched
- 31:13Speaker 1: the vehicle. No defendant etched the word pig onto the vehicle.
- 31:17Speaker 1: No defendant pulled the wiper blade off the vehicle. The
- 31:20Speaker 1: one commonality among these four defendants is that, via social
- 31:24Speaker 1: media platforms and public statements, they were all outspoken critics
- 31:29Speaker 1: the Trump administration. Then, in early April, it came to
- 31:32Speaker 1: light that the ICE agent whose vehicle was involved in
- 31:36Speaker 1: the incident texted a Facebook post about the charges to
- 31:40Speaker 1: unidentified associates. He texted the post along with the words
- 31:44Speaker 1: well we'll see how long I stay unnamed. Someone wrote back,
- 31:47Speaker 1: You're going to be famous, brah, and he texted back
- 31:50Speaker 1: only among the lefties. They also found that days before
- 31:53Speaker 1: the indictment was made public, the same agent texted senior
- 31:56Speaker 1: ICE officials to let them know that quote several public
- 32:00Speaker 1: office holders and political candidates were indicted in this case
- 32:04Speaker 1: because of my testimony. He also added quote of note.
- 32:08Speaker 1: Among the six defendants, there is a US congressional candidate,
- 32:11Speaker 1: a forty fifth Ward Committee person, and a Oak Park
- 32:15Speaker 1: slash Oakbrook Board of Trustees member. So that makes it
- 32:19Speaker 1: seem like someone somewhere told someone that they should be
- 32:23Speaker 1: trying to identify and target political candidates.
- 32:26Speaker 2: Did you seem to have had that idea?
- 32:28Speaker 1: Yes, this is a quote from the defense motion put plainly,
- 32:33Speaker 1: one would have to be living under a rock to
- 32:35Speaker 1: not recognize that in these unprecedented times, the current administration
- 32:39Speaker 1: has repeatedly placed its heavy thumb on the scales of
- 32:43Speaker 1: justice in an effort to use the department's formidable criminal
- 32:47Speaker 1: apparatus as a weapon against those views as its political enemies.
- 32:52Speaker 1: I think that's right. Unfortunately, the judge in this case
- 32:55Speaker 1: ultimately dismissed the motion that claimed the Trump administration exiit
- 33:00Speaker 1: undue influence in the prosecution. But the fact that those
- 33:04Speaker 1: text messages were released and the content of those messages
- 33:07Speaker 1: does not bode well for the prosecution. That's because text
- 33:11Speaker 1: messages sent by a Customs and Border Patrol agent were
- 33:14Speaker 1: instrumental to another failed prosecution that stemmed from Operation Midway Blitz.
- 33:19Speaker 1: That would be the prosecution of Merimar Martinez, a woman
- 33:23Speaker 1: who was shot five times by a CBP agent in
- 33:27Speaker 1: Chicago last year. She was accused of using her car
- 33:30Speaker 1: to assault a federal law enforcement officer before the case
- 33:34Speaker 1: was ultimately dismissed in November. That dismissal made a whole
- 33:37Speaker 1: lot more sense when the judge in the case agreed
- 33:39Speaker 1: to release evidence from the case in February, including text
- 33:43Speaker 1: messages from the agent who did the shooting. That would
- 33:46Speaker 1: be CBP agent Charles Exum. Wasn't wearing a body cam
- 33:50Speaker 1: during the shooting. Go figure. Text to and from Exom
- 33:53Speaker 1: show him describing the big time support he got after
- 33:57Speaker 1: the shooting. In one exchange, he said, quote, everyone one
- 34:00Speaker 1: has been including Chief Bovino, Chief Banks, Secretary Nome, and
- 34:04Speaker 1: el Hefe himself. According to Bovino end quote, I'm guessing
- 34:08Speaker 1: el Hefe is Trump. If you call any American president
- 34:13Speaker 1: el Hefe, you are the biggest dork walking the fucking planet.
- 34:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:18Speaker 1: Presidents work for us. We pay their goddamn salaries. We
- 34:24Speaker 1: decide who they are. You should not be fawning over
- 34:28Speaker 1: any fucking president, not Obama, not Biden, not Trump, not Clinton,
- 34:33Speaker 1: maybe Clinton a little bit. That guy sure was a charmer.
- 34:37Speaker 2: You're allowed to be persuaded by Bill Clinton. It's your
- 34:39Speaker 2: only human.
- 34:40Speaker 1: Yeah, Yeah, who among us has not been. But don't
- 34:44Speaker 1: love any president this much. God, they don't love you
- 34:48Speaker 1: that much. Yeah, exactly. He also sent a text to
- 34:51Speaker 1: a group of friends that said I fired five rounds
- 34:54Speaker 1: and she had seven holes. Put that in your book, boys,
- 34:57Speaker 1: What does that even fucking mean?
- 34:59Speaker 2: Is he maybe a I don't even want to speculate.
- 35:02Speaker 1: Yeah. In an email hours after the shooting, Greg Bovino
- 35:07Speaker 1: wrote to Charles ExHAM, quote, I'd like to extend an
- 35:10Speaker 1: offer for you to extend your retirement beyond age fifty seven.
- 35:13Speaker 1: In light of your excellent service in Chicago. You have
- 35:17Speaker 1: much left to do. End quote. That's pretty fucking grim.
- 35:21Speaker 2: This is your big congratulations. Would you like to work more?
- 35:24Speaker 1: Yeah? Exactly, which I bet this guy would well exim. Yeah.
- 35:29Speaker 1: I bet he would love to keep shooting brown people
- 35:31Speaker 1: in the streets at the behest of el he fa.
- 35:34Speaker 2: Yeah, that's probably right where he wants to be. This
- 35:36Speaker 2: is his glory days.
- 35:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 35:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 35:38Speaker 1: Also, video of the shooting was included in the evidence
- 35:41Speaker 1: that was released, and it shows Marra mar Martinez doing
- 35:46Speaker 1: none of the things she was accused of. This woman
- 35:49Speaker 1: was a school teacher who was on her way to
- 35:51Speaker 1: donate clothes to a local charity when she happened to
- 35:55Speaker 1: drive into an area where a protest was happening and
- 35:58Speaker 1: got shot by the government. After the evidence was made public,
- 36:02Speaker 1: Martinez issued a statement saying, quote the mental scars will
- 36:05Speaker 1: always be there as a reminder of the time my
- 36:08Speaker 1: own government attempted to execute me, and when they failed,
- 36:12Speaker 1: they chose to vilify me. End Quote at your government
- 36:15Speaker 1: at work, everybody.
- 36:16Speaker 2: Could not have been doing anything more wholesome either. She
- 36:18Speaker 2: might as well have been going to give sponge baths
- 36:21Speaker 2: to the homeless.
- 36:22Speaker 1: Yeah. And I believe there's video where the ICE agent
- 36:27Speaker 1: who shot her before it happens, he was filming her
- 36:30Speaker 1: driving behind them and was like, she's following us. How
- 36:34Speaker 1: do you know you're not just going the same direction.
- 36:36Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, they get these guys so amped up in
- 36:38Speaker 2: conditioned to respond with forrest that they're like jumping at shadows,
- 36:43Speaker 2: ready to fucking blow someone's head off twenty four hours
- 36:46Speaker 2: a day.
- 36:46Speaker 1: Yeah. What color do you think the thin line on
- 36:49Speaker 1: the ice flag is going to be when those fuck
- 36:52Speaker 1: faces eventually developed their own version of the thin blue line.
- 36:56Speaker 2: It's going to be like a light blue kind of
- 36:57Speaker 2: ice color.
- 36:58Speaker 1: I think I could see that like a teal yeah, very.
- 37:03Speaker 2: Uh, kind of like a pastel, sort of fruity color.
- 37:06Speaker 1: Yeah. My favorite will always be the thin red line
- 37:10Speaker 1: that's firefighters.
- 37:11Speaker 2: Right.
- 37:11Speaker 1: Who do you think is mad at you firefighters?
- 37:14Speaker 2: Yeah? And it's like we already liked you. You don't
- 37:16Speaker 2: need to come up with this float like everybody who
- 37:19Speaker 2: hates firefighter.
- 37:20Speaker 1: Yeah, No one's mad when the fire department shows up
- 37:22Speaker 1: to put out a fucking fire.
- 37:24Speaker 2: No one's ever like the fight the fucking firefighters shot
- 37:27Speaker 2: my cousin.
- 37:28Speaker 1: These fucking fascist stopped my house from burning down. No
- 37:32Speaker 1: one says that. Fucking Relax, but Ice, we do fucking
- 37:36Speaker 1: hate you. Oh we hate you so much, so so much,
- 37:39Speaker 1: and this kind of shit is part of the reason why.
- 37:42Speaker 1: So that's where we are with the Broadview six, which
- 37:45Speaker 1: is now the Broadview four. Like we said, their trial
- 37:48Speaker 1: starts next month. I feel like it's not gonna go
- 37:51Speaker 1: well for the government, but anything could happen, you never know, you.
- 37:55Speaker 2: Know, Yeah, I never thought I'd be sitting around just
- 37:57Speaker 2: rooting for our court system, but you know, here we
- 38:00Speaker 2: are tough times.
- 38:01Speaker 1: Yeah, and it does seem like that's the one thing
- 38:05Speaker 1: keeping this from being as bad as it could be.
- 38:07Speaker 2: Well, we don't have a real opposition party in this country,
- 38:10Speaker 2: but we do have a judiciary, it seems on some
- 38:13Speaker 2: some level, and.
- 38:14Speaker 1: It seems like even the judges Trump appointed in a
- 38:18Speaker 1: lot of cases are like, okay, this is like much. Yeah,
- 38:24Speaker 1: so that's a good sign for now at least, and
- 38:28Speaker 1: we'll see how this case unfolds. But until then, that
- 38:31Speaker 1: is our episode. We did it, Connor, thank you so
- 38:33Speaker 1: much for doing the pod. As always, what do we
- 38:36Speaker 1: gotta plug before we get out of here? Ah, there's
- 38:39Speaker 1: new subscription levels patreon dot com, slash on pops go
- 38:41Speaker 1: check those out, Connor, what do you want to plug?
- 38:43Speaker 2: I want to plug the Midway Blitz promo video that
- 38:47Speaker 2: the government put out of them rating the quote unquote
- 38:49Speaker 2: trendy Arragua house in the middle of the night because
- 38:52Speaker 2: you paid for it, you know, as the government made
- 38:54Speaker 2: this video with your money, you might as well watch it. Yeah,
- 38:57Speaker 2: see what they've been up to.
- 38:59Speaker 1: It is such a fucking debacle. We almost did a
- 39:01Speaker 1: whole episode about that because of just how pointless that
- 39:06Speaker 1: whole operation was. But it would have just been us
- 39:09Speaker 1: for an hour going man, this was stupid. This didn't
- 39:11Speaker 1: make any sense.
- 39:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I like to. I think if I grew up
- 39:15Speaker 2: as I think, if I was an eighth grader in
- 39:17Speaker 2: a house where the only eight Tyson Chicken products, I
- 39:20Speaker 2: would probably think it was the coolest thing ever.
- 39:22Speaker 1: Yeah, but alas we did not, and hey, that is
- 39:27Speaker 1: all we got. Connor say goodbye to the people.
- 39:30Speaker 2: Goodbye everybody.
- 39:30Speaker 1: Goodbye everybody. We love you.
