A 27-year-old woman, Venus Flores, has pleaded guilty in the 2020 murder of 25-year-old Christopher Alderete, wrapping up a six-year legal saga. She’s now facing a 20-year prison sentence — with 987 days already credited — after taking a deal for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Her co-defendant, Fabian Hernandez, received a 40-year sentence last year. The shooting occurred on West Ridgewood Court, where Flores allegedly fired a shot during an argument with Alderete, though his girlfriend in the car was unharmed.
