- 0:00Speaker 1: It is time for us to go to God in prayer.
- 0:02Speaker 1: And as always, I invite you to join me in prayer.
- 0:05Speaker 1: And you know, October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
- 0:10Speaker 2: And I want to pray today for all of those affected.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Father God, in the mighty, matchless, and powerful name of Jesus,
- 0:17Speaker 1: we come before you lifting up every person affected by
- 0:20Speaker 1: domestic violence. Lord, this is a battle that is often
- 0:23Speaker 1: fought behind closed doors, hidden behind smiles, and concealed by shame,
- 0:28Speaker 1: by fear, by silence. But Father, you see every tear.
- 0:32Speaker 1: You hear every cry. You know every person who's suffering
- 0:35Speaker 1: in silence. And today, we ask you to intervene. Lord,
- 0:38Speaker 1: we pray for those who are still living in abusive situations.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Cover them. with your protection. Give them wisdom. Give them courage.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Give them access to safe people and resources where there
- 0:48Speaker 1: is immediate danger.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Help them reach safety.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Send trustworthy advocates, compassionate professionals, and people who will believe them,
- 0:55Speaker 1: support them, and help them make a safety plan without
- 0:58Speaker 1: putting them at greater risk. Father, remind every victim that
- 1:02Speaker 1: abuse is not love, that violence is not acceptable. Physical abuse,
- 1:06Speaker 1: emotional abuse, financial abuse, verbal abuse.
- 1:10Speaker 2: They do not deserve to be mistreated.
- 1:13Speaker 1: They are not responsible for another person's choice to hurt them.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Their lives have value, their voices matter, and they deserve
- 1:20Speaker 1: to live without fear. Lord, we lift up those who
- 1:24Speaker 1: are recovering from abuse. Heal the wounds that others cannot see.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Heal the anxiety, the shame, the shattered confidence, the sleepless nights,
- 1:32Speaker 1: and the fear that follows them even after they leave.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Restore their sense of worth. Help them understand that healing
- 1:39Speaker 1: takes time and that they do not have to apologize
- 1:41Speaker 1: for rebuilding their lives one day at a time. God,
- 1:45Speaker 1: we pray for the children who witness violence and those
- 1:48Speaker 1: who are directly abused. Protect their hearts and their minds, God.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Break cycles of violence that have continued through generations. Surround
- 1:55Speaker 1: these children with safe adults, loving support, and opportunities to heal. Father,
- 1:59Speaker 1: comfort the parents, the siblings, the relatives, and friends who
- 2:03Speaker 1: watch someone they love suffer. Give them wisdom to support
- 2:06Speaker 1: without judgment, patience to listen without blame, and courage to
- 2:10Speaker 1: seek appropriate help when danger is present. And Lord, we
- 2:14Speaker 1: pray for those who commit acts of abuse, confront their behavior,
- 2:17Speaker 1: break through denial, entitlement, rage, and the desire to control.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Lead them to genuine accountability, meaningful intervention, and lasting change.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Protect those they have harmed and do not allow apologies
- 2:30Speaker 1: or promises to replace safety and change behavior. Oh, Father,
- 2:33Speaker 1: strengthen every domestic violence shelter, hotline counselor, advocate, social worker,
- 2:38Speaker 1: law enforcement professionals, and organization serving survivors. Provide the funding, God, resource, staff,
- 2:45Speaker 1: and safe spaces they need to continue this life-saving work.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Your word declares in Psalm 74, 18, that you are
- 2:52Speaker 1: close to the brokenhearted. So Lord, draw near to every
- 2:54Speaker 1: wounded heart today. Let the silence be broken. Let shame
- 2:57Speaker 1: be lifted. Let help be accessible. Let survivors find safety, dignity,
- 3:02Speaker 1: and hope. Lord, replace fear with courage, isolation with support,
- 3:06Speaker 1: trauma with healing, and violence with peace. God, let every
- 3:09Speaker 1: person affected by domestic violence know that they are not forgotten.
- 3:13Speaker 2: They are not alone.
- 3:14Speaker 1: And their story does not have to end in pain in.
