- 2:57Speaker 7: three five five zero zero eight. Our good buddy, Evan
- 2:59Speaker 7: Ozmy or from Capital Market is here. Good morning, sir.
- 3:01Speaker 5: How are you fantastic? Aside from the snow in.
- 3:04Speaker 7: The weather, well, I mean with the winner that we've had,
- 3:07Speaker 7: this is not really there. I mean I walk up
- 3:09Speaker 7: this morning, look out the window. I had a little
- 3:11Speaker 7: bit of snow on the on the roof of the car.
- 3:13Speaker 7: Not even any in the grass or anything. But you
- 3:15Speaker 7: know it's but I'm like you, I'm over next. Brian
- 3:18Speaker 7: Hughes tells me like next Wednesday could be near eighty
- 3:21Speaker 7: next Wednesday. I'll take it. I'll take it, all right. So,
- 3:24Speaker 7: speaking of which, speaking of the weather report from Capital Market,
- 3:29Speaker 7: so this time of year, you know spring's not officially here.
- 3:32Speaker 7: I guess the meteorological spring is here. We switched the
- 3:36Speaker 7: clocks spring forward this weekend, and think about it. There
- 3:40Speaker 7: for a moment exciting time for Capital Market.
- 3:43Speaker 8: Absolutely, and you know, if you were to consult the
- 3:45Speaker 8: Capital Market Farmers Almanac, the unofficial beginning the spring all
- 3:49Speaker 8: kicks off every year with the Green Chili shootout.
- 3:51Speaker 5: Yeah, it's coming up March fifteenth.
- 3:53Speaker 7: And that's that'll be next next weekend, right prior to
- 3:57Speaker 7: Saint Patrick's Day. But talk about spring in general, though,
- 3:59Speaker 7: a capital market. I mean this is and I know
- 4:02Speaker 7: this because a lot of folks every year when spring
- 4:05Speaker 7: gets here, they say, oh, I'm gonna get you know,
- 4:07Speaker 7: I'm gonna work out in the yard and I'm going
- 4:08Speaker 7: to do this and that, and the place they go
- 4:11Speaker 7: usually is here in the area is capital market.
- 4:13Speaker 8: Absolutely, and traditionally we spend the winter months, you know,
- 4:18Speaker 8: in preparation for you know, a very busy outdoor market season.
- 4:23Speaker 8: We've always sort of kicked that off right around April first.
- 4:26Speaker 8: It is agriculture. It fluctuates usually within you know, two
- 4:29Speaker 8: to three week window. Number of variables, most importantly being
- 4:35Speaker 8: temperature throughout the winter depends on when and just how
- 4:39Speaker 8: much product we're going to get in starting at the season. Fortunately,
- 4:42Speaker 8: most of the spring stuff is all produced in a greenhouse,
- 4:44Speaker 8: so we do have a degree of control over it.
- 4:46Speaker 8: But officially we open outside April first. Past couple of years,
- 4:53Speaker 8: as things have shifted, we may have stuff a week
- 4:57Speaker 8: or two ahead of schedule or but you can generally
- 5:01Speaker 8: safely assume that come mid April we're going to be
- 5:04Speaker 8: full with all of your ferns, hanging baskets.
- 5:07Speaker 7: Flowers are closer to Easter too, that's always a big
- 5:09Speaker 7: that's always a big thing too. Talking to Devin Osborne
- 5:12Speaker 7: again from Capitol Market. But day Island show in five
- 5:14Speaker 7: eighty lives brought to you a part by Fresh Air

- 5:23Speaker 7: Air Filters dot us because everyone deserves fresh air? Are
- 5:26Speaker 7: you alluded to it? The Green Chili Cookoff Cookout does?
- 5:29Speaker 7: What do you call it? The Green ChIL It's official
- 5:31Speaker 7: name Green Chili, the Capital Market Green Chili Shootout. I
- 5:34Speaker 7: got the shootout. That was the word I was missing there.
- 5:36Speaker 7: It's going to be a week from.
- 5:37Speaker 8: Saturday, absolutely, and it is for those that aren't familiar
- 5:41Speaker 8: with the event, we'll have more than forty professional and
- 5:46Speaker 8: amateur chili enthusiasts. It is an International Chili Society sanctioned event,
- 5:52Speaker 8: so the winner in the pro category will go on
- 5:54Speaker 8: to the World Championships in October.
- 5:56Speaker 7: That's really a big deal because we have a couple
- 5:58Speaker 7: of events like that around here in the I mean,
- 6:00Speaker 7: we talk all the time about how Charleston is becoming
- 6:04Speaker 7: the kanaw Valley region is becoming like a culinary destination.
- 6:07Speaker 7: We got at least at least two that I know of,
- 6:09Speaker 7: maybe more of these events here in the area that
- 6:13Speaker 7: are international competitions, and they people come here from all
- 6:16Speaker 7: over to enter their chili's and people locally win and
- 6:19Speaker 7: they move on to other.
- 6:20Speaker 8: Places I know at this point, and obviously we've got
- 6:22Speaker 8: a little over a week to go for registration, but
- 6:24Speaker 8: we have participants from six different states, so it's it's
- 6:28Speaker 8: a big draw in terms of, well, one, these folks
- 6:33Speaker 8: take this incredibly oh yeah, and it's sanctioned by very
- 6:37Speaker 8: strict rules and so on the pro side, it is
- 6:41Speaker 8: a very regiment and serious process. And then on the
- 6:45Speaker 8: flip side, we have the amateur category, which is really
- 6:50Speaker 8: it does not have to be green, it does not
- 6:52Speaker 8: have to use traditional ingredients. We award prizes for the
- 6:56Speaker 8: best booth. It's just a whole lot of fun and
- 6:58Speaker 8: so we have live music, craft beer, and then starting
- 7:03Speaker 8: last year the addition of Capital Market Mayhem will be
- 7:07Speaker 8: returning and that's part of the Regatta Pro Wrestling Series,
- 7:10Speaker 8: and that was really born out of the triumvit of
- 7:13Speaker 8: local wrestling enthusiasts. Matt Sutton, Tim Brady and mister Adam Harris,
- 7:18Speaker 8: and it's been exciting to one launch that event really
- 7:24Speaker 8: not shock per se, but bring something wildly different to
- 7:28Speaker 8: the outdoor market, and so we're excited to bring that
- 7:31Speaker 8: back this year.
- 7:31Speaker 7: It was a huge hit last year. I was over
- 7:34Speaker 7: there last year, as several other station folks were there
- 7:37Speaker 7: last year with the Green Chili cook Off. And you know,
- 7:39Speaker 7: I know a little bit about the wrestling business. I
- 7:41Speaker 7: was in it, you know, for something like twenty five years,
- 7:44Speaker 7: thirty thirty years. I was actually in it, And yeah,
- 7:48Speaker 7: I don't do shows much anymore, but I did see
- 7:52Speaker 7: a lot of people that I knew and they're like, oh,
- 7:54Speaker 7: you know, I was ready to head home after having
- 7:56Speaker 7: all that chili and stuff, and they were like, oh,
- 7:58Speaker 7: you know, Dave, you gotta come come over to hang
- 7:59Speaker 7: out for a while. And man, I mean, the wrestling
- 8:04Speaker 7: crowds are always big in West Virginia anyway. But I
- 8:08Speaker 7: guess I just wasn't prepared that there'd be that many
- 8:10Speaker 7: people on a Saturday afternoon at what was like two
- 8:13Speaker 7: o'clock or whatever, at well one o'clock, two o'clock whatever
- 8:15Speaker 7: that would come out for that event. And they really
- 8:18Speaker 7: really got into it.
- 8:20Speaker 8: The yeah, the amount of attendees, and I did want
- 8:25Speaker 8: to reader. This is free, open to the public, absolutely really.
- 8:28Speaker 8: The only cost associated is if you want to buy
- 8:31Speaker 8: either craft beer or a tasting cup for the event,
- 8:34Speaker 8: and those are ten dollars if you buy them in advance,
- 8:36Speaker 8: and then fifteen dollars.
- 8:37Speaker 7: And where do you get the tickets?
- 8:38Speaker 8: Capital Market dot net you can stop buy our office
- 8:42Speaker 8: or then again you can purchase some day up.
- 8:45Speaker 5: So it's but.
- 8:46Speaker 7: The wrestling itself. If you want to bring the family
- 8:48Speaker 7: out for the wrestling event itself, it's absolutely free. You
- 8:51Speaker 7: just walk through the Capital Market and hopefully chances are
- 8:54Speaker 7: though you're going to buy something there at the Capitol Market.
- 8:56Speaker 7: You're going to go to the you know, take home
- 8:59Speaker 7: some chocolate or some wine or something from one of
- 9:01Speaker 7: the delicious restaurants that are there. You know you're probably
- 9:05Speaker 7: gonna buy some but you don't have to.
- 9:07Speaker 5: I don't have to, but I strongly encourage.
- 9:09Speaker 7: Because it keep because it pays your salary. And when
- 9:12Speaker 7: is the cutoff for people to enter the chili cookoff?
- 9:15Speaker 5: I believe that's going to be this Thursday.
- 9:17Speaker 7: That would be next Thursday, Yes, yes, a week from
- 9:20Speaker 7: the day, okay, because they got to have plenty of
- 9:22Speaker 7: time and approximately give me a ballpark. How many how
- 9:25Speaker 7: many different chilis you had last year? And the pro
- 9:27Speaker 7: and the amateur?
- 9:28Speaker 5: So last year we had right at forty and I
- 9:30Speaker 5: think we're on pace to top that this year.
- 9:31Speaker 7: Right, And we were there last year. I was there
- 9:34Speaker 7: with our a couple of our sister stations ninety eight
- 9:36Speaker 7: seven a month and also ninety six one KWS was there.
- 9:40Speaker 7: Rob and I are going to be there. Steve Animal
- 9:42Speaker 7: is going to be there because there's food and I
- 9:44Speaker 7: have I don't know. I talked to Canvas Monday night.
- 9:47Speaker 7: I don't know whether she actually needs us or not.
- 9:49Speaker 7: But we put it out there that if you need
- 9:51Speaker 7: judges for the chili Cookoff, we're there. We did it
- 9:54Speaker 7: last year.
- 9:54Speaker 8: Of the other duties as assigned, I can think of
- 9:56Speaker 8: coorselines look exactly right, exactly right, and I love it.
- 10:00Speaker 7: I am a chili aficionado, I mean I really and
- 10:03Speaker 7: one of the and I've judged. I probably judged one
- 10:04Speaker 7: hundred chili contests in my in my career, and I
- 10:09Speaker 7: will say the thing about chili is is that there's
- 10:11Speaker 7: so many different varieties. I mean, you know, we you
- 10:14Speaker 7: and I could sit here and I could think. And
- 10:16Speaker 7: even when my wife and I make chili at home,
- 10:18Speaker 7: we don't always make it the same way.
- 10:20Speaker 5: I don't think I've ever made it the same way.
- 10:22Speaker 7: Because you try different things, you know, you try to
- 10:23Speaker 7: put different things in it. And there's a lot of
- 10:25Speaker 7: different kinds of chili. And this is serious business. And
- 10:27Speaker 7: as I said, we started off by talking about the weather.
- 10:30Speaker 7: You know, long range forecasts are just what they are like,
- 10:32Speaker 7: and this is March we're talking about. I do realize that,
- 10:35Speaker 7: but long range the meteorologists say that next week and
- 10:38Speaker 7: in the next weekend looks looks pretty good. And uh,
- 10:41Speaker 7: you know, you want to have a little chill in
- 10:43Speaker 7: the air. You know, you don't want to be like
- 10:44Speaker 7: ninety five degrees. You want to have a little chill
- 10:46Speaker 7: in the air. And of course you got the craft
- 10:48Speaker 7: beer and everything that goes along with it. It's just
- 10:50Speaker 7: another thing, another feather in the cap for Charleston and
- 10:53Speaker 7: the kanav Valley as a food destination.
- 10:56Speaker 8: Absolutely, it's been an incredible couple of years, just context
- 11:00Speaker 8: of our local culinary scene and just to see it
- 11:04Speaker 8: progress further like right now, like we're just a couple
- 11:08Speaker 8: of weeks away, I think from finding out if our
- 11:11Speaker 8: second ever local chef is going to be a finalist
- 11:14Speaker 8: for the James Beards Chef Chase Collier at a Britzzi
- 11:17Speaker 8: and it's it's you look back five years and.
- 11:21Speaker 7: It's insane to me that a town the size of
- 11:23Speaker 7: Charleston would would have not one I mean with you know,
- 11:29Speaker 7: and Chef Paul's amazing, and he've been on the show
- 11:31Speaker 7: numerous times and Chef Paul is amazing and and so
- 11:34Speaker 7: so it's so it's Chase, Uh, but a city the
- 11:38Speaker 7: size of Charleston would have not not one, but two
- 11:41Speaker 7: folks nominated. Of course, you know, Chef Paul won and
- 11:44Speaker 7: uh and we hope that Chase Collier does as well.
- 11:46Speaker 7: I mean, that's that's pretty amazing for the capital city.
- 11:48Speaker 8: We're fortunate, you know, to have Paul Smith as the
- 11:51Speaker 8: culinary ambassacre, not only for the market, I mean obviously
- 11:53Speaker 8: he's a tremendous representative for the culinary community statewide, but
- 11:58Speaker 8: the opportunity to really now that he's brought home the hardware,
- 12:04Speaker 8: to talk about what we can do to continue to
- 12:07Speaker 8: elevate and lift up you know, other young up and
- 12:10Speaker 8: coming talent and it's sky's the limit really with the
- 12:14Speaker 8: group of folks we have right now.
- 12:15Speaker 7: Yeah, good stuff, all right, give us the details again
- 12:18Speaker 7: on the Green Chili Chili.
- 12:19Speaker 8: Shootout Saturday, March fifteenth, Capital Market starts out, starts into
- 12:25Speaker 8: four ish Okay. Tickets available at capital market dot net.
- 12:28Speaker 8: Ten dollars in advance, fifteen at the door. Plenty of
- 12:32Speaker 8: craft beer, lots of other food. Chili's not your thing,
- 12:34Speaker 8: hop inside, plenty of food fro.
- 12:36Speaker 7: And you said there at least six states have been represented,
- 12:39Speaker 7: I mean the six states, and there is the amateurs too.
- 12:41Speaker 7: So you folks that are listening to us that are
- 12:43Speaker 7: locally that may not be professional chefs, but think you
- 12:45Speaker 7: makes some pretty dang good chili. This is open to you,
- 12:47Speaker 7: even if you.
- 12:48Speaker 5: Make terrible chili out.
- 12:50Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 12:50Speaker 5: I have a great time.
- 12:51Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean it's it's a great time. And to
- 12:52Speaker 7: stick around for the wrestling afterwards, for sure, all right.

- 16:39Speaker 7: later on, I want to welcome to Justin Williams now
- 16:41Speaker 7: from the West Virginia Building and Construction Trades Organization. Good morning, sir,
- 16:44Speaker 7: welcome to the show. Good morning, thanks for having me,
- 16:46Speaker 7: Thank you for being here. And you came down a
- 16:47Speaker 7: little bit early, and I'll let you sit in on
- 16:49Speaker 7: that interview there with with Evan Osborne. And I thought
- 16:55Speaker 7: that that was really really cool that you set there
- 16:58Speaker 7: and didn't drool when we were talking to all that chili.
- 17:01Speaker 12: I'm very jealous that you get to judge so many
- 17:03Speaker 12: competitions and eat all that chili. I will be there
- 17:07Speaker 12: and trying the chili. But you know, I've not had
- 17:09Speaker 12: the privilege of being a judge yet, but maybe one day.
- 17:12Speaker 7: All right, all right, well, we'll see if we can
- 17:14Speaker 7: get I'll bump off Steve Animal for you. He's more
- 17:17Speaker 7: interested in the craft beer anyway. So well, all right,
- 17:19Speaker 7: so you finds just recently released an economic impact study.
- 17:23Speaker 7: What did you What did you learn in the study? Sure?
- 17:26Speaker 12: So, you know, I represent union construction workers across the
- 17:30Speaker 12: entire state of West Virginia, and we know historically it's
- 17:33Speaker 12: kind of been anecdotal. You know, all the jobs we do,
- 17:36Speaker 12: all the work we do, have a really big impact
- 17:38Speaker 12: on the economy of West Virginia. But we partnered with
- 17:41Speaker 12: Marshall University's Center for Business and Economic Research on a
- 17:44Speaker 12: study to get the actual numbers of the economic impact
- 17:47Speaker 12: that construction workers in West Virginia do to help move
- 17:51Speaker 12: our state forward. You know, we're seeing all these announcements
- 17:54Speaker 12: for big projects, and you know, the people, the men
- 17:56Speaker 12: and women that build those projects are the members that
- 17:59Speaker 12: I get a represent and we're excited to talk about that.
- 18:02Speaker 12: In the years twenty two and twenty three, there was
- 18:04Speaker 12: eight billion dollars of economic activity driven out of the
- 18:09Speaker 12: construction industry. You know, that's direct wages somewhere in the
- 18:12Speaker 12: neighborhood of two billion dollars of wages and benefits, money
- 18:16Speaker 12: going into pension plans and retirement accounts, health insurance for
- 18:20Speaker 12: union members, and those people are really the drivers of
- 18:24Speaker 12: our communities and this money really shows that an investment
- 18:28Speaker 12: into infrastructure, into facilities, when you whether you're building new
- 18:33Speaker 12: or remodeling or maintaining some of our historic facilities up
- 18:37Speaker 12: and down the Canal Valley, you know, those investments with
- 18:39Speaker 12: union workers really paid dividends to the state of West Virginia.
- 18:43Speaker 7: Have these numbers and what was the year that you
- 18:45Speaker 7: referenced again, twenty two and twenty three? Okay, all right,
- 18:47Speaker 7: so those are latest numbers available, are they Are they
- 18:49Speaker 7: going up? Are they? What's your take on the numbers? Sure?
- 18:53Speaker 12: So, you know right now we're hopeful that they'll continue
- 18:55Speaker 12: to go up over the less several years. We've seen
- 18:58Speaker 12: major announcements for different type of projects all over the
- 19:01Speaker 12: state of West Virginia.
- 19:02Speaker 7: Right.
- 19:02Speaker 12: So, we've got workers at form Energy and you know,
- 19:05Speaker 12: Toyota's always doing expanding and up and down maintenance work.
- 19:10Speaker 12: We work in the power generation sector, so we're seeing
- 19:13Speaker 12: a number of different power generation projects that are on
- 19:16Speaker 12: the horizon. You know, we hear it all the time,
- 19:19Speaker 12: the demand for data centers and then the power that's
- 19:21Speaker 12: going to power those data centers. So whether it be
- 19:24Speaker 12: natural gas powerhouses, maintaining our current coal fire powerhouses, solar wind,
- 19:29Speaker 12: you know, it's it's all the above for us.
- 19:31Speaker 7: Are our members build it all?
- 19:33Speaker 3: Uh?
- 19:33Speaker 12: And that's what we're excited about. So I'm hopeful that
- 19:35Speaker 12: will continue to go up. With the opportunities ahead of
- 19:38Speaker 12: West Virginia. I think we're kind of a blank slate
- 19:41Speaker 12: for for continuing to grow and prosper in West Virginia.
- 19:44Speaker 7: I don't want to turn this into a political thing
- 19:46Speaker 7: because I know you folks are you know, a non
- 19:47Speaker 7: part of this organization, but you would you know, you
- 19:50Speaker 7: have to be living under a rock if you hadn't
- 19:52Speaker 7: seen the stories about tariffs and things of that nature.
- 19:54Speaker 7: Is that something that concerns you folks?
- 19:57Speaker 12: Sure, I mean obviously if they're going to build something,
- 19:59Speaker 12: so a lot of material comes from different places, right,
- 20:02Speaker 12: you know, we always support buy American first. Right, We've
- 20:05Speaker 12: got still mills in West Virginia and different products that
- 20:07Speaker 12: are made right here in West Virginia. We want to
- 20:09Speaker 12: buy here in West Virginia. That's part of our goal
- 20:12Speaker 12: is about local workers, local workforce, the more you can
- 20:15Speaker 12: do locally, you know this day, the better it is
- 20:17Speaker 12: for all of us. Right, I mean, it keeps our
- 20:20Speaker 12: car lots in business, it keeps our hospitals and doctor's
- 20:22Speaker 12: offices full, it keeps well.
- 20:24Speaker 7: These are the people that also donate to your church,
- 20:27Speaker 7: your little league, your things of that nature, buy and large.
- 20:29Speaker 7: These are the people that do that stuff, buy the
- 20:31Speaker 7: signs for the little League fields and things like that.
- 20:33Speaker 7: That's right.
- 20:34Speaker 12: And anytime they need the you know, the lights of
- 20:36Speaker 12: the little League field fixed, who do they call. They
- 20:38Speaker 12: call one of our union contractors and they volunteer their
- 20:40Speaker 12: time and their workers to go out there and fix
- 20:42Speaker 12: those lights. So it is you know, it really is
- 20:44Speaker 12: about the community. And when you invest in local, skilled,
- 20:48Speaker 12: drug free trained workers, it just makes our whole community better.
- 20:51Speaker 7: Right.
- 20:52Speaker 12: Good jobs helps solve a lot of other issues out there.
- 20:55Speaker 7: Absolutely talked about working with Marshall University on the So
- 21:00Speaker 7: exactly how did you what was the work like And
- 21:03Speaker 7: you don't have to boris with the details of how
- 21:05Speaker 7: the sausage was made, but basically how did you arrive
- 21:07Speaker 7: at these? Sure?
- 21:08Speaker 12: So you know the Marshall's Center for Business and Economic
- 21:11Speaker 12: Research is what they do.
- 21:12Speaker 7: They do economic studies.
- 21:13Speaker 12: They do studies for businesses, for developers, for the university itself.
- 21:16Speaker 12: But kind of the basis of it is, you know,
- 21:18Speaker 12: you look at the man hours, the work hours that
- 21:21Speaker 12: we've done over the last couple of years. You take
- 21:24Speaker 12: the collective bargaining agreements to the wages the benefits that
- 21:26Speaker 12: are paid to those workers, and you put that together
- 21:29Speaker 12: and that gives you the direct you know, economic impact.
- 21:32Speaker 12: So that's the two billion in wages, the fifty eight
- 21:34Speaker 12: million dollars that's invested into our training and apprenticeship facilities
- 21:38Speaker 12: every year.
- 21:39Speaker 7: And so that's those numbers.
- 21:40Speaker 12: And then you you know, there's these model data scientists
- 21:44Speaker 12: do and then they put these numbers in there and
- 21:46Speaker 12: that spits out all this other information about you know,
- 21:49Speaker 12: kind of the indirect job. So that's the car lots,
- 21:51Speaker 12: the grocery stores, the doctor's offices, you with health benefits.
- 21:55Speaker 7: We're providing you.
- 21:56Speaker 12: Know, doctors and our members and their families with the
- 21:58Speaker 12: opportunity to get that ca that they need, be cold
- 22:01Speaker 12: and flu season or whatever the case may be.
- 22:04Speaker 7: We're talking to Justin Williams again from the West Virginia
- 22:06Speaker 7: Building and Construction Trades organization, but Dave Island Show on
- 22:09Speaker 7: five any Live Bright to you in part by your
- 22:11Speaker 7: hometown baseball team, the Charleston Dirty Birds. Birds having a
- 22:14Speaker 7: big old party at Ballpark this coming Saturday noon to six.
- 22:18Speaker 7: You can get your season tickets, stand all sorts of giveaways,
- 22:20Speaker 7: free mini golf, inflatables for the kids, and again it's
- 22:23Speaker 7: absolutely free of charge unless you want to, you know,
- 22:26Speaker 7: visit the concession stand, which many of us do, then
- 22:28Speaker 7: you have to pay for that. But just to bring
- 22:29Speaker 7: the kids out for all the inflatables, there's no charge
- 22:31Speaker 7: for that. Dusty the mascot will be there as well,
- 22:34Speaker 7: and tomorrow Jill Garin from the Dirty Birds will be
- 22:36Speaker 7: on the show to talk about Saturday's activities. If you
- 22:39Speaker 7: need more between now and then, you can visit their
- 22:41Speaker 7: Facebook page or dirty Birds Baseball dot com. Justin I
- 22:43Speaker 7: want to ask you about the numbers that we have
- 22:46Speaker 7: filling these jobs, these construction workers. I mean, we hear
- 22:49Speaker 7: about West Virginia having the lowest workforce participation in America.
- 22:54Speaker 7: We are the oldest population and a lot of folks
- 22:57Speaker 7: that have that are on the on the old scale,
- 23:00Speaker 7: which I'm getting close most of them, not me, but
- 23:03Speaker 7: others have done a lot of the manual labor that
- 23:06Speaker 7: we talk about with these jobs or whether it's coal
- 23:09Speaker 7: industry or whatever, so you know, their body's starting to
- 23:11Speaker 7: break down a little bit. How are we doing in
- 23:14Speaker 7: getting people to fill these jobs in West Virginia? Couse
- 23:17Speaker 7: there and I talk to my friends in industries like
- 23:20Speaker 7: yours and any industry. It's a struggle to try to
- 23:22Speaker 7: find people. How are you guys doing it? It is,
- 23:24Speaker 7: I mean, and we're we're doing everything just like everyone else.
- 23:26Speaker 12: You know, we've been for the last several years really
- 23:29Speaker 12: ramping up our advertising aspects of trying to recruit people
- 23:34Speaker 12: into the trades. You know, historically it was kind of
- 23:38Speaker 12: you know my generation, you're told go to college, go
- 23:40Speaker 12: to college.
- 23:40Speaker 7: Go to talk about it almost every day.
- 23:42Speaker 12: Yeah, and so you know, we're working with we want
- 23:45Speaker 12: to partner with our colleges, our community and technical colleges,
- 23:47Speaker 12: because as you know, it takes everybody. We can't build
- 23:50Speaker 12: a hospital if we don't train doctors and nurses. So
- 23:53Speaker 12: we have to have the doctors and nurses to fill
- 23:55Speaker 12: that facility. We've got to have workers that go to
- 23:57Speaker 12: work in the factories to build the manufacturing facility. So
- 24:00Speaker 12: it's we have to work together, right. For so long
- 24:03Speaker 12: people were competing against one another. Oh, don't go there,
- 24:07Speaker 12: don't go there. We you know, this week it was
- 24:09Speaker 12: WU Day at the legislature and w and Marshall are
- 24:11Speaker 12: working together now, not competing, right, And that's what we
- 24:14Speaker 12: have to do with with manufacturing people, with health care facilities,
- 24:19Speaker 12: with roads and bridges. We have to be able to
- 24:20Speaker 12: build it because we need all that. And we're talking
- 24:23Speaker 12: you know, right before housing. Right, there's got to be
- 24:26Speaker 12: investments from you know, the state, from private industry, from
- 24:30Speaker 12: developers coming in here because we are open book and
- 24:35Speaker 12: I think we can really make a difference there and
- 24:37Speaker 12: getting people into these trades that are really good careers
- 24:41Speaker 12: for people, you know, good wages, benefits, a pension and
- 24:45Speaker 12: you can make a whole career out of that and
- 24:47Speaker 12: provide for your family and give back to your community,
- 24:51Speaker 12: your churches, your little leagues, like we talked about it,
- 24:53Speaker 12: and that's what our members do and and so it
- 24:55Speaker 12: is it's a good opportunity. We have to get out
- 24:58Speaker 12: of the mindset that everybody should go to college. People
- 25:00Speaker 12: should do what they are good at, what they enjoy,
- 25:03Speaker 12: you know, as the old thing goes. If you enjoy
- 25:05Speaker 12: what you do, you never work a day in your life.
- 25:07Speaker 12: And so that's what we want. We want people that
- 25:09Speaker 12: are hard working individuals who like to work with their hands.
- 25:12Speaker 7: You know, it's not easy work.
- 25:13Speaker 12: You're right, you're outside, it's cold, it's hot, it's rainy,
- 25:16Speaker 12: it's muddy, you know, but you look around and just
- 25:20Speaker 12: in the Kanaal Valley that the things that our members
- 25:22Speaker 12: have built, training facility for the hospital over in Kanas City, historically,
- 25:26Speaker 12: the Clay Center, they're working on, the TC Energy building.
- 25:29Speaker 12: It is it's everything. It's community, it's education, it's industry
- 25:34Speaker 12: and commercial development and growth. And so the more we
- 25:38Speaker 12: get to go to work, the more other people get
- 25:39Speaker 12: to go to work. And so it has to be
- 25:41Speaker 12: a partnership.
- 25:42Speaker 7: And I like and you know, frequently I have people
- 25:44Speaker 7: like doctorK Cy Saxlebridge Valley on. I have Erict Cage
- 25:47Speaker 7: from West Virginia State. I have Marty Roth from UCE
- 25:50Speaker 7: some of these other institutions, and when they come on,
- 25:53Speaker 7: without failure, they come on every time and they talk
- 25:56Speaker 7: about these partnerships that they're doing with the business community
- 25:59Speaker 7: and how they're working with some of these major folks,
- 26:02Speaker 7: the you know, the camcs, the Toyotas and some of
- 26:05Speaker 7: these people uh to to train up the kind of
- 26:08Speaker 7: workers that they need, and in turn, those people have
- 26:12Speaker 7: to be employed by someone. They're going to be employed
- 26:14Speaker 7: by them, but a lot of them are going to
- 26:16Speaker 7: be as you said, justin they're going to be building
- 26:19Speaker 7: those facilities. And that's what you that's what you folks do,
- 26:22Speaker 7: that's right, and that's what we need, right.
- 26:24Speaker 12: We need investment into all the above, right, it's just
- 26:28Speaker 12: like the all of the above energy.
- 26:29Speaker 7: We need all the above jobs.
- 26:31Speaker 12: Like you know, we should never turn down any jobs
- 26:33Speaker 12: in West Virginia where everybody needs one and everybody needs
- 26:35Speaker 12: a good one, and so you know, that's what we
- 26:37Speaker 12: want to do. That's why we did this study to
- 26:39Speaker 12: talk about how the construction industry really is a major
- 26:43Speaker 12: part of the economy in West Virginia and the careers
- 26:46Speaker 12: that that our members have are really helping to move
- 26:49Speaker 12: West Virginia forward and keep driving that opportunities for their families,
- 26:53Speaker 12: their kids and grand kids in the future. So they're
- 26:56Speaker 12: putting themselves on a path of prosperity with jobs that
- 27:00Speaker 12: have good wages, benefits where they can take care of
- 27:03Speaker 12: their families.
- 27:05Speaker 7: And if you had one takeaway from this study, wrap
- 27:09Speaker 7: it up at about thirty seconds. Tell me what would
- 27:11Speaker 7: that takeaway be from this economic study that you got.
- 27:15Speaker 12: Sure, it's just that there's a lot of opportunity in
- 27:18Speaker 12: the construction industry going forward for people to get into
- 27:22Speaker 12: this industry, for these jobs to be there, and for
- 27:25Speaker 12: our developers and for people looking at West Virginia. We
- 27:28Speaker 12: have a skilled, train, drug free workforce ready to build
- 27:32Speaker 12: your industry. So work with us, Partner with us. We're
- 27:34Speaker 12: here to help you. We're here to be a partner
- 27:36Speaker 12: in these construction projects. You with our partner, our signatory
- 27:40Speaker 12: contractors who help train up our workers with journey workers
- 27:44Speaker 12: and apprentices on the job, educating that next generation of workers.
- 27:47Speaker 12: So it really as a partnership and that's what we're
- 27:49Speaker 12: looking for.
- 27:50Speaker 7: If people want to read the findings of the study
- 27:52Speaker 7: for themselves, as there are a place this is.
- 27:53Speaker 12: Available or it's going to be up on our website
- 27:55Speaker 12: at West Virginia Trades dot org.
- 27:57Speaker 7: All right, West Virginia Trades dot org. Justin Willyer from

- 31:38Speaker 7: I had Joe Stevens from the City of Nitro on
- 31:41Speaker 7: last week's show talking about a big, big movie screening
- 31:44Speaker 7: tonight at the Regal Nitro Theater. It's the screening of
- 31:49Speaker 7: the film Brothers After the War and it's a documentary.

- 32:02Speaker 7: if you're a veteran, I have somebody that's served in
- 32:05Speaker 7: your family, whatever, it's free to you, six o'clock tonight
- 32:08Speaker 7: at the Regal in Nitro. Vaccines are your best protection

- 32:17Speaker 7: get started, vaccines dot CoV people by the US Department
- 32:19Speaker 7: of Health and Human Services. Greg Thomas is here. How
- 32:22Speaker 7: are you, my friend? I'm doing well. Good morning. How
- 32:24Speaker 7: are you and the belly of the Beast? Today? You're
- 32:25Speaker 7: leaving here and you're heading over to the Capitol, right, Well,
- 32:28Speaker 7: you're there pretty much every day. I guess you're in
- 32:29Speaker 7: the session, not every day. You can only handle so much.
- 32:33Speaker 15: Yeah, I mean I couldn't. I can't watch it, that's
- 32:35Speaker 15: for sure.
- 32:36Speaker 8: All right.
- 32:37Speaker 7: I want to go ahead and get this out here
- 32:38Speaker 7: to you, all right, you know you h And by
- 32:42Speaker 7: the way, I'll say anytime during this interview, Greg, if
- 32:44Speaker 7: you're upset with me on anything, you may stand in
- 32:47Speaker 7: defiance and shake your cane at me if you want it,
- 32:50Speaker 7: will not have you removed.
- 32:51Speaker 15: Well, I brought a little you know, I brought my
- 32:53Speaker 15: little thing to be able to say, liar, what a
- 32:56Speaker 15: little side, little pattle, a little battle, little pat are.
- 32:59Speaker 7: You said me a text Greg last night, and you said,
- 33:02Speaker 7: and I'm going to quote your text here, the National
- 33:04Speaker 7: Democrats are doubling down on being left wing crazy. End
- 33:09Speaker 7: quote as was evidence. This is my part during the
- 33:13Speaker 7: President's speech of the Joint Session on Tuesday night. That's
- 33:15Speaker 7: me saying that part. So you say they're doubling down
- 33:19Speaker 7: on being this is National Democrats being left wing crazy.
- 33:22Speaker 15: Yeah, I mean, I look, I think that what you're
- 33:25Speaker 15: seeing going on in America and here and especially here
- 33:30Speaker 15: in West Virginia is a reaction to this lurch to
- 33:34Speaker 15: the left that's been going on. I mean, let's be
- 33:36Speaker 15: honest for twenty years. But I mean it it got
- 33:38Speaker 15: really to a fever pitch during you know, Obama is
- 33:41Speaker 15: really what brought it. Funds front and center, and then
- 33:44Speaker 15: the Biden people, you know, kind of just really were
- 33:46Speaker 15: shoving it down your throats, right. I mean, it was
- 33:48Speaker 15: the climate change hoax, you know, which was a you know,
- 33:51Speaker 15: way to create this big green new deal where they
- 33:53Speaker 15: all made a bunch of money. The transgender nonsense, and
- 33:57Speaker 15: it is nonsense. I mean, it's just absolutely crazy. The
- 34:00Speaker 15: boys and girls sports, which to me, the fact that
- 34:03Speaker 15: they're out there still I mean, like that's supported by
- 34:06Speaker 15: like five percent of the world, right, I mean, like,
- 34:08Speaker 15: you know, it's crazy that they're still doing that. You know,
- 34:12Speaker 15: the federal government overspending, and that's really both parties, but
- 34:16Speaker 15: I mean the Democrats really stepped on the gas with that.
- 34:19Speaker 15: Growing the size of the federal government during the Obama
- 34:22Speaker 15: administration and during Biden it just went out of control, right,
- 34:25Speaker 15: And that's what this that's what's caused this, the need
- 34:29Speaker 15: for this doze, you know, Department of Government efficiency. And
- 34:33Speaker 15: you know, you just heard Trump the other night during
- 34:35Speaker 15: his speech, you know, rattle off some of the most
- 34:37Speaker 15: outrageous spending things you could I mean, you couldn't even
- 34:41Speaker 15: like most people wouldn't even imagine that could possibly be true,
- 34:45Speaker 15: all these things that they're spending millions and billions of
- 34:47Speaker 15: dollars on. And so I think, you know, that extremism
- 34:52Speaker 15: from the left, which which I share the rights reaction
- 34:57Speaker 15: to being frustrated with it, right, I mean, they're you know,
- 35:00Speaker 15: they're trying to blow up the traditional family. They're you know,
- 35:04Speaker 15: attacking business, they're attacking capitalism, you know, you know, trying
- 35:10Speaker 15: to replace religion with all these other sort of things.
- 35:15Speaker 15: So I share the frustration. But what that has caused
- 35:18Speaker 15: is sort of the far right right to come out
- 35:21Speaker 15: and instead of like, all right, you know, what's our plan?
- 35:23Speaker 15: What are we going to do? Every single thing they
- 35:26Speaker 15: talk about is just a reaction to, well, what do
- 35:29Speaker 15: we do to stop that? And so I'm for the
- 35:33Speaker 15: stopping that part, right. I think it's just that is
- 35:36Speaker 15: you know, that whole it's at this point, it's like
- 35:39Speaker 15: a visceral, like emotional reaction to doing something about it.
- 35:43Speaker 7: But would you agree, Greg, let me jumping in, would
- 35:45Speaker 7: you agree that that the right's taking it way too far?
- 35:47Speaker 7: Many right, not all the right? Yes, I mean, and
- 35:50Speaker 7: this and what I saw the other night in this speech,
- 35:55Speaker 7: although this is probably the most out of control one
- 35:57Speaker 7: I've ever seen, I harken back to a few years ago.
- 35:59Speaker 7: Would Marge Taylor Green? You know, I think like a
- 36:02Speaker 7: hyena in there. So Jesus is about as far right
- 36:05Speaker 7: as they go. So this is not I understand what
- 36:08Speaker 7: you're saying, but I don't think that we can say
- 36:10Speaker 7: that the lunacy is only on the left. There's a
- 36:13Speaker 7: lot of loons on the right too.
- 36:14Speaker 15: Look, I think what you're seeing is sort of the
- 36:19Speaker 15: right fringe yell at like It's like, it's like the
- 36:21Speaker 15: rest of America is caught in the middle of the
- 36:24Speaker 15: right fringe yelling at the left fringe, right and the
- 36:27Speaker 15: left set.
- 36:27Speaker 7: I'll say that every day.
- 36:30Speaker 15: We're here where I really do believe, you know, if
- 36:33Speaker 15: you would look at I've kind of been that. I've
- 36:35Speaker 15: seen a I've got a couple of different clients that
- 36:37Speaker 15: have been doing some polling, and so I've been neck
- 36:39Speaker 15: deep in that for a little bit looking at it.
- 36:41Speaker 15: But if you would on a scale of one to ten, say, okay, well,
- 36:44Speaker 15: how conservative are you or how liberal are you? You know,
- 36:47Speaker 15: with ten being conservative and one being liberal. You know,
- 36:50Speaker 15: West Virginia, I think America is at like a six right,
- 36:53Speaker 15: maybe six six and a half. I think West Virginia
- 36:56Speaker 15: is a seven and a half. For whatever reason, a
- 36:59Speaker 15: lot of our legislative leaders, leaders here in Charleston, they
- 37:02Speaker 15: think we're at like a twelve and we're not at
- 37:05Speaker 15: a twelve, right, I mean.
- 37:06Speaker 7: You're talking about Republicans. I'm talking about republic You can't
- 37:09Speaker 7: be talking about Democrats. So I'm talking about Republicans right now.
- 37:12Speaker 15: I'm talking about people that are registered Republican. I think,
- 37:17Speaker 15: and you know this is you hear a lot of
- 37:19Speaker 15: those really far right Republicans will say, oh, these guys
- 37:21Speaker 15: are rhino because he doesn't support I think the person
- 37:25Speaker 15: that says you're a rhino is usually somebody that was
- 37:28Speaker 15: a Democrat like six years ago. I mean, honestly, that
- 37:32Speaker 15: is who they are, right. I think I would guess
- 37:35Speaker 15: that a quarter of the Republican Party in West Virginia
- 37:38Speaker 15: right now, or at least a quarter of the legislators
- 37:40Speaker 15: up there are former Democrats that were always social conservative
- 37:45Speaker 15: that weren't with us on economic issues.
- 37:47Speaker 13: You know.
- 37:47Speaker 15: These are people that take money from personal injury lawyers,
- 37:50Speaker 15: These are people that support labor unions. These are people
- 37:54Speaker 15: that essentially were Democrats that didn't support that extreme liberal
- 37:58Speaker 15: social agenda, but they agreed with them on all of
- 38:01Speaker 15: the other policies that had been in place in West
- 38:04Speaker 15: Virginia for eighty four years, which drove us into the
- 38:06Speaker 15: ground and made us last and everything and made us
- 38:08Speaker 15: you know, I know you were talking with the last guest,
- 38:10Speaker 15: is you know brought up you know we're last and
- 38:12Speaker 15: worksforce participation because we had these leftist sort of economic
- 38:16Speaker 15: policies for decades.
- 38:19Speaker 7: And I think that's.
- 38:20Speaker 15: Why you know, you're not seeing that at the forefront
- 38:23Speaker 15: of this current legislature. You know, right now you've got
- 38:27Speaker 15: you know, they're they're they're leading with the social issues
- 38:32Speaker 15: as a reaction to the national stuff. You talk to
- 38:35Speaker 15: people at the Capitol and said, too, but two wrongs
- 38:38Speaker 15: make a right though, Well, I think some of it
- 38:41Speaker 15: is writing. I'm with them on like half of that stuff, right,
- 38:46Speaker 15: I mean I think half of that stuff is like, hey,
- 38:48Speaker 15: we yeah, we should do that. That's probably something we
- 38:50Speaker 15: should do. You know, we got to get the boys
- 38:52Speaker 15: out of girls sports. And I'm for a lot of
- 38:55Speaker 15: those things. But then they take it and like keep
- 38:58Speaker 15: going right. It's like it's like you could, you know,
- 39:00Speaker 15: let's let's use abortion as the issue. Right, Most West
- 39:03Speaker 15: Virginians support the exceptions for abortion for rape and cess
- 39:09Speaker 15: life of the mother. That's where most West Virginians are exactly.
- 39:12Speaker 15: I'll bet you a quarter to a third of this
- 39:15Speaker 15: legislature wants to make it no exceptions at all, and.
- 39:17Speaker 7: Why want the Republicans put it on the ballot.
- 39:19Speaker 15: Which is a fringe position, right, I mean it's it's
- 39:22Speaker 15: you know, I've seen it's fringe.
- 39:24Speaker 7: Actually, I just saw a pulled the other day.
- 39:26Speaker 15: Ten percent of West Virginians don't think they think you
- 39:29Speaker 15: should be able to get an abortion whenever you want,
- 39:31Speaker 15: and ten percent don't think you should be able to
- 39:34Speaker 15: get abortion at all, even life of the mother, right,
- 39:37Speaker 15: that's the French.
- 39:38Speaker 7: The minority is being made up by the two fringe positions, correct, Yeah, exactly.
- 39:41Speaker 15: And so that's sort of what happens, and I think
- 39:43Speaker 15: that's what drives that overreach where right now, especially here
- 39:47Speaker 15: in Charleston. Now, you do have some you do have
- 39:49Speaker 15: some of these people that i'd refer to them as
- 39:51Speaker 15: center right, right. I mean, these are your seven and
- 39:53Speaker 15: a half out of ten conservatives that that are for
- 39:55Speaker 15: the conservative social issues but also support conservative economic shoes.
- 40:00Speaker 15: And what they're what you hear from them is, hey,
- 40:03Speaker 15: we just got to get this social conservative stuff out
- 40:05Speaker 15: of the way, and then we're going to get to
- 40:07Speaker 15: the pro jobs bills.
- 40:10Speaker 7: I know there's some out there.
- 40:11Speaker 15: I mean, you know, you had mentioned I do work
- 40:13Speaker 15: with citizens against lawsuit Abuse.
- 40:14Speaker 7: We have a couple.
- 40:15Speaker 15: Medical monitorings one and we have some other ones that
- 40:19Speaker 15: that would really help improve the job climate here and
- 40:23Speaker 15: and there's other organizations that have some out there too.
- 40:26Speaker 15: Morrisey's got Morse He's got a permitting bill on the
- 40:28Speaker 15: House side that would be that will be helpful for jobs.
- 40:32Speaker 15: He's got a licensing bill on the Senate side that
- 40:34Speaker 15: would be helpful.
- 40:36Speaker 7: But I'm with you.
- 40:38Speaker 15: Though, Dave, and that people look at this and say, Okay, hey,
- 40:40Speaker 15: I'm you know, I'm with you on some of the stuff.
- 40:43Speaker 15: But what are you doing about jobs? What are you
- 40:45Speaker 15: doing about roads? What are you doing about schools?
- 40:47Speaker 7: And this is where I am Greg, because it's not
- 40:50Speaker 7: that I don't think that those other things are important.
- 40:52Speaker 7: I've said it on the show a couple of days ago,
- 40:54Speaker 7: But I don't think that the average person when they
- 40:57Speaker 7: get up every morning, thinks about I mean the one
- 41:00Speaker 7: on the fringe. I don't think that they think about, well,
- 41:02Speaker 7: what I'm going to be pissed off today about about
- 41:04Speaker 7: boys playing girls sports. No, they're trying to buy bread,
- 41:07Speaker 7: They're trying to they're trying to go to their jobs.
- 41:09Speaker 7: I just wish our legislators would focus on the stuff
- 41:12Speaker 7: that value that that is a value to every day
- 41:15Speaker 7: West Virginians, not this, not this fringe crap.
- 41:18Speaker 15: If they don't focus on it, there's a remedy for that. Elections, right,
- 41:23Speaker 15: and so I think I think what happened.
- 41:26Speaker 7: I think you.
- 41:26Speaker 15: I think that people elected some very conservative legislators that
- 41:30Speaker 15: were were just pro Trump. Right, I'm pro Trump, I
- 41:33Speaker 15: support Trump's agenda, I want to do it. And they're
- 41:35Speaker 15: up here in Charleston saying I'm pro Trump, I'm going
- 41:38Speaker 15: to support Trump's agenda, and a lot of the bills
- 41:40Speaker 15: that they're doing sort of try to mirror things that
- 41:42Speaker 15: Trump is doing. And some of it you can do
- 41:45Speaker 15: some of it, you know. I think a lot of
- 41:47Speaker 15: these new legends, and we've talked about this before, I
- 41:49Speaker 15: think a lot of these new legislators ran because they
- 41:52Speaker 15: supported Trump, they want a new direction for the country,
- 41:55Speaker 15: and then all of a sudden they end up in
- 41:56Speaker 15: Charleston and it's like, oh, gosh, I'm not in the
- 41:59Speaker 15: US Senate.
- 41:59Speaker 7: I guess I don't have to tell don't get to
- 42:01Speaker 7: vote on that. I'm serving out of Wetzel County. I
- 42:03Speaker 7: can't build a wall.
- 42:04Speaker 15: You know, and so but it but it takes a
- 42:07Speaker 15: little But look, that's just part of this process. I'm
- 42:09Speaker 15: not against those guys. I'm for a lot of those guys.
- 42:12Speaker 15: I'm not against them. It's just it's going to be
- 42:13Speaker 15: a process. So will they be able to figure out
- 42:16Speaker 15: though here in the next thirty days, which is about
- 42:19Speaker 15: all they have left in the session, will they be
- 42:21Speaker 15: able to figure out in the next thirty days? All
- 42:25Speaker 15: my my constituents do want the social conservative stuff to
- 42:29Speaker 15: a degree. They want to, you know, reasonable social conservatives,
- 42:34Speaker 15: reasonable con social conservative bills.
- 42:36Speaker 7: But what have I got? Am I going to be able.
- 42:39Speaker 15: To go back in May, in June and go to
- 42:42Speaker 15: the fourth of July parade and see people in my
- 42:46Speaker 15: community and tell them, here's what I did to create jobs,
- 42:49Speaker 15: Here's what I did to improve the roads, Here's what
- 42:51Speaker 15: I did to improve the schools. And my suggestion is
- 42:57Speaker 15: a long as you know, probably one of the longest
- 43:00Speaker 15: serving political consultants here in West Virginia, to them is
- 43:05Speaker 15: you better do something, You better have something to say,
- 43:07Speaker 15: and you got thirty days, right, So they need to
- 43:09Speaker 15: get on the stick. They need to get after it.
- 43:12Speaker 15: You know, this session isn't lost. You're always going to
- 43:14Speaker 15: have a couple of weeks of trying to figure it out.
- 43:16Speaker 15: They've picked up the pace a little bit, which could
- 43:21Speaker 15: be good if they would focus on some other stuff.
- 43:24Speaker 15: But they have an opportunity to focus on jobs, roads
- 43:27Speaker 15: and schools, and I really encourage them to do so.

- 46:52Speaker 15: didn't have last?
- 46:53Speaker 7: Year why won't The republicans put it on the? Ballot, well,
- 46:56Speaker 7: okay because they know they know they. Lose, YEAH i, mean,
- 46:58Speaker 7: look and that's what. See but, here this is my
- 47:01Speaker 7: point though with This, texter, right it's, like, HERE i
- 47:03Speaker 7: am with a position that The republican parties held for
- 47:07Speaker 7: decades that we wanted to, have we would have done
- 47:11Speaker 7: anything in the world to have for fifty, years and
- 47:14Speaker 7: we have, it and it's not enough for certain people
- 47:17Speaker 7: because that's their, focus, right that's their, focus all, right

- 48:02Speaker 15: a lot of fraud In Social security And, Medicaid medicare
- 48:06Speaker 15: and all that, stuff. RIGHT i, MEAN i think what
- 48:07Speaker 15: they don't understand is like somebody is filled out of
- 48:10Speaker 15: paper somewhere and said that it's not like we actually
- 48:13Speaker 15: believe there's somebody out there acting like they're one hundred
- 48:15Speaker 15: and twenty. Five there is fraud to a huge, degree
- 48:19Speaker 15: and they're going to get to the bottom of. It
- 48:21Speaker 15: and for those of, us, WELL i don't know THAT
- 48:23Speaker 15: i receive so, security but for those people that are
- 48:25Speaker 15: receiving soial security or one day hope to receive so.

- 48:30Speaker 15: want to cut out fraud within social?
- 48:32Speaker 7: Security, WELL i think the point is is that there's
- 48:34Speaker 7: been a lot of inaccuracies reported that that's come. Out
- 48:37Speaker 7: fact checkers of all kinds of, said, yeah there's not
- 48:40Speaker 7: as much of this as people think there, is and
- 48:41Speaker 7: there's some. Extremes let me knock through. That these greg
- 48:45Speaker 7: is just running down the list of cultural war conservative
- 48:47Speaker 7: propaganda talking. Points nothing, new same old story of the
- 48:50Speaker 7: left Destroying america while the right comes to save. It
- 48:52Speaker 7: culture war bs as the wealth gap widens and the
- 48:55Speaker 7: majority Of americans lives get worse while a handful of
- 48:58Speaker 7: folks consolidate wealth and.
- 49:00Speaker 15: Power what Did what did the? Left the left had
- 49:02Speaker 15: total control of our federal government for four years and
- 49:06Speaker 15: they did nothing but have out of control, inflation raised,
- 49:10Speaker 15: taxes grew the size of, government and people's, lot people's
- 49:14Speaker 15: lives got. Worse and that's that's the. Reality that's that's

- 49:36Speaker 7: helping folks sitting around their kitchen. Table that sounds. Familiar
- 49:39Speaker 7: H and costs are still going up knock, down and
- 49:41Speaker 7: that Ain't biden's fault. Anymore.
- 49:43Speaker 15: UH i guess that person wrote this text in the
- 49:46Speaker 15: first half of our, discussion naughty second half BECAUSE i
- 49:49Speaker 15: actually agree with you on some of that that we
- 49:52Speaker 15: need a, plan Especially, LOOK i Think trump has a.
- 49:54Speaker 15: Plan he's doing a ton of. STUFF i think here
- 49:57Speaker 15: In West, virginia what they've done so far has just
- 50:00Speaker 15: been a reaction to getting back At. Democrats this, legislature
- 50:05Speaker 15: the leaders in this legislature need to come up with
- 50:07Speaker 15: a plan to increase, jobs to fix the, roads and
- 50:11Speaker 15: to get better school better results out of our.
- 50:13Speaker 7: Schools, Texas, dave we Support israel And israel supports. Abortion
