- 0:00Speaker 1: But most importantly, addressing this crisis of election security demands
- 0:05Speaker 1: that Congress must pass the Save America Act. How easy
- 0:11Speaker 1: is that to do unless you want to cheat? The
- 0:14Speaker 1: only reason you wouldn't do it is you want to
- 0:17Speaker 1: cheat because your policies are so bad and your candidates
- 0:20Speaker 1: are so pathetic that you can't get away or can't
- 0:23Speaker 1: get elected any other way. This landmark bill requires that
- 0:27Speaker 1: all voters must show photo voter ID.
- 0:32Speaker 2: How simple is that.
- 0:33Speaker 3: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Good Friday morning.
- 0:38Speaker 4: Nice to have you with us on the forty seven
- 0:39Speaker 4: Morning Update, and we've got two.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Big stories for you.
- 0:42Speaker 4: First up, the President has a major update on the
- 0:45Speaker 4: straight of hormus and it now means that those tolls
- 0:49Speaker 4: that were promised that we're going to be paid they
- 0:51Speaker 4: may be disappearing because of a new deal. Also, the
- 0:55Speaker 4: media and the economists, yeah, they got it wrong. Inflation
- 1:00Speaker 4: numbers are out and it was a big drop, in fact,
- 1:03Speaker 4: the biggest drop in inflation in six years.
- 1:06Speaker 2: So where is it.
- 1:07Speaker 4: Now and how did the economists and everyone else get
- 1:09Speaker 4: it wrong? Could it be it's just because they hate
- 1:12Speaker 4: Donald Trump. We'll explain it to you now. Before we
- 1:15Speaker 4: get to both those stories, I want to talk to
- 1:17Speaker 4: you right now about how the stakes could not be
- 1:19Speaker 4: any higher. We finally have a president and administration fighting
- 1:23Speaker 4: hard for America first. But if conservatives like you and
- 1:26Speaker 4: I lose focus now, the same people who created this
- 1:29Speaker 4: mess are ready and waiting to resume their destruction their
- 1:32Speaker 4: progressive agenda. And protecting this momentum takes more than votes.
- 1:37Speaker 4: It takes every American like you staying in the fight
- 1:40Speaker 4: for our rights and freedoms. And that's why more and
- 1:43Speaker 4: more people I know are switching to Patriot Mobile. It
- 1:47Speaker 4: is America's only Christian conservative wireless provider now, Patriot Mobile,
- 1:52Speaker 4: which I use every day, and they're amazing. They offer
- 1:55Speaker 4: premium priority nationwide service on all three major US networks,
- 2:00Speaker 4: unlimited data plans, mobile hotspots, international roaming. They've got it
- 2:04Speaker 4: all and I love their team because it's one hundred
- 2:06Speaker 4: percent US based customer support.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Switching has never been easier.
- 2:11Speaker 4: You can do it in minutes while keeping your same
- 2:13Speaker 4: phone and the same phone number you've got right now. Now,
- 2:16Speaker 4: this is where the magic comes in. Unlike the other carriers,
- 2:19Speaker 4: Patriot Mobile they put their money towards causes that defend faith, family,
- 2:24Speaker 4: and freedom. They literally contribute millions of dollars each year
- 2:28Speaker 4: to organizations on the front lines fighting for our God
- 2:32Speaker 4: given rights. And that is why I love Patriot Mobile. So,
- 2:36Speaker 4: whether you've got a small business, or a bunch of
- 2:37Speaker 4: family lines, or just your phone number, switch it today.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Join the movement.
- 2:42Speaker 4: Go to Patriotmobile dot com slash Ben forty seven, Patriotmobile
- 2:47Speaker 4: dot com slash Ben forty seven or nine to seven
- 2:50Speaker 4: to Patriot and if you use the promo code Ben
- 2:53Speaker 4: forty seven, you're gonna get a free month of service.
- 2:56Speaker 4: That's Patriotmobile dot com slash Ben forty seven or nine
- 3:00Speaker 4: to seven to two Patriot To make that switch today,
- 3:03Speaker 4: it's the forty seven Morning Update and it starts right now.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Story number one.
- 3:07Speaker 4: The Strain of War moves remains one of the most
- 3:10Speaker 4: strategically important waterways on Earth. That's why we're talking about
- 3:14Speaker 4: it so much. As I've said before, about one fifth
- 3:18Speaker 4: of the world's all supply normally passes through the shipping
- 3:21Speaker 4: lane each and every day. President Donald Trump has continued
- 3:26Speaker 4: now to escalate pressure on Iran while also adjusting parts
- 3:31Speaker 4: of his strategy, and today Trump said no country should
- 3:35Speaker 4: be charging ships a fee to pass through the strain
- 3:38Speaker 4: of war moves backing away from that earlier proposal for
- 3:41Speaker 4: a US imposed transit fee.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Now.
- 3:44Speaker 4: I'm going to have more on that in a moment,
- 3:47Speaker 4: But the military situation remains extremely tense. The United States
- 3:52Speaker 4: has continued intense strikes against the Iranian military targets after
- 3:57Speaker 4: accusing Tehran of violating previous understandings and threatening shipping throughout
- 4:02Speaker 4: the Persian Gulf. Iranian forces have also responded with missile
- 4:07Speaker 4: and drone attacks targeting Golf Region facilities and maritime traffic,
- 4:12Speaker 4: keeping the entire region well on edge.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Now.
- 4:15Speaker 4: One of the biggest concerns right now is still very
- 4:19Speaker 4: much commercial shipping. Major shipping companies are continuing to monitor
- 4:23Speaker 4: the situation carefully, and vessel traffic through the strait has
- 4:27Speaker 4: slowed significantly. Why because the insurers and the cargo companies
- 4:32Speaker 4: and the tanker operators are now weighing the real growing
- 4:35Speaker 4: risk from Iran. Every reduction in shipping raises concerns about
- 4:40Speaker 4: higher energy prices and potential supply disruptions if the conflict worsens. Meanwhile,
- 4:47Speaker 4: Iran's political leadership is also signaling that it intends to
- 4:51Speaker 4: maintain quote unquote their pressure.
- 4:54Speaker 2: According to new reports.
- 4:56Speaker 4: Lawmakers in Tehran are advancing legislation really to Iranians con
- 5:01Speaker 4: over the Strait of hor Moves. That is a move
- 5:03Speaker 4: that analysts believe is intended to both strengthen Iran's negotiating
- 5:07Speaker 4: position and also demonstrate resolve domestically and send a clear
- 5:12Speaker 4: message of the US and the Middle East that they're
- 5:14Speaker 4: not done fighting.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Now.
- 5:16Speaker 4: From Washington, the Trump administration is continuing to argue that
- 5:20Speaker 4: freedom of navigation must be protected and that Iran cannot
- 5:24Speaker 4: be allowed to threaten one of the world's most important
- 5:27Speaker 4: maritime choke points. Now, military analysts also say the United
- 5:31Speaker 4: States now faces two well simultaneous objectives. Number one, protect
- 5:36Speaker 4: international shipping, and then number two, to prevent the conflict
- 5:41Speaker 4: from expanding into a broader regional war involving additional countries
- 5:46Speaker 4: that Iran would love to bring into the mix. Now
- 5:49Speaker 4: these goals are becoming increasingly difficult. Why because Iran continues
- 5:54Speaker 4: to act more and more erratic each and every day. Now,
- 5:57Speaker 4: the financial markets are also watching every development closely, and
- 6:01Speaker 4: this does have an impact on you and your family's budget.
- 6:05Speaker 4: Oil prices have climbed sharply amid the renewed fears of
- 6:08Speaker 4: supply disruptions, and investors are trying to determine whether this
- 6:12Speaker 4: becomes a prolonged confrontation or whether diplomacy can eventually reduce tensions.
- 6:18Speaker 4: Even rumors surrounding the Strait of hor moves can move
- 6:21Speaker 4: global markets instantly because of its enormous importance to international
- 6:26Speaker 4: energy and President Trump has also made it clear that
- 6:29Speaker 4: he believes America's role in protecting international shipping has come
- 6:33Speaker 4: at significant costs to the United States of America, and
- 6:37Speaker 4: that's why he talked about having a proposed transit fee. Well,
- 6:41Speaker 4: let's talk about what has happened with that in the
- 6:44Speaker 4: last twenty four hours now. President Donald Trump announced on
- 6:48Speaker 4: Tuesday afternoon that he has now decided to replace his
- 6:51Speaker 4: proposed twenty percent reimbursement fee on cargo ships transiting the
- 6:56Speaker 4: Straight of Hormus with trade and investment deals involving gulfs dates,
- 7:00Speaker 4: while maintaining a blockade on ships traveling to or from
- 7:04Speaker 4: Iranian ports or carrying Iranian cargo that would include their
- 7:08Speaker 4: oil quote. Oil is flowing like never before thanks to
- 7:12Speaker 4: the awesome power of the United States military Trump said
- 7:15Speaker 4: on true social He credited the Secretary of War Pete Headseth,
- 7:19Speaker 4: the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs and the US Central Command,
- 7:22Speaker 4: and American service members for the victory.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Trump said the sort of.
- 7:26Speaker 4: Ramus is open to all ships traffic except for Iran,
- 7:31Speaker 4: blaming Tehran saying they're lying violent and malicious leadership for
- 7:36Speaker 4: place in the country and a path towards quote total destruction,
- 7:40Speaker 4: the president saying, we will therefore have a full blockade,
- 7:43Speaker 4: but only on ships coming to and from Iranian ports
- 7:48Speaker 4: or carrying anything that has to do with Iranian cargo.
- 7:52Speaker 4: And The President announced then that he would replace that
- 7:55Speaker 4: twenty percent fee that he proposed Monday to reimburse the
- 7:59Speaker 4: United States for protecting international shipping through the waterway with
- 8:03Speaker 4: something different, saying, quote, based on highly productive conversations with
- 8:07Speaker 4: Middle East leadership, I've decided to replace the twenty percent
- 8:11Speaker 4: United States reimbursement fee with trade and investment deals that
- 8:16Speaker 4: the various Golf States will be making into the United
- 8:19Speaker 4: States of America. The President also described the planned investment
- 8:23Speaker 4: as massive and said they would also be extraordinarily good
- 8:28Speaker 4: for the Gulf States and their futures, as well as
- 8:31Speaker 4: everyone is aware. We have the largest dollar investment into
- 8:34Speaker 4: the United States of any country in history. But these
- 8:38Speaker 4: new investments will make the number even larger, and we
- 8:41Speaker 4: will see factories, plants, and equipment pour into the United
- 8:45Speaker 4: States at historic levels, which will then create additional millions
- 8:49Speaker 4: of high paying American jobs. The president said, America is
- 8:53Speaker 4: winning again, winning like never before. The days of Iran
- 8:57Speaker 4: killing hundreds of thousands of people fifty two thousand protesters
- 9:02Speaker 4: are over, and most importantly, Iran will never have a
- 9:06Speaker 4: nuclear weapon now. Trump's announcement also came after US forces
- 9:11Speaker 4: carried out a five hour mission targeting Iranian coastal defense systems,
- 9:16Speaker 4: missile and drone sites, and maritime capabilities to further degrade
- 9:20Speaker 4: Iran's ability to attack commercial shipping. US Central Command said
- 9:25Speaker 4: the strikes hit military targets across Iran, including many areas
- 9:29Speaker 4: that were very close to where the shipping channel is.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Now.
- 9:33Speaker 4: Trump had declared the ceasefire over and said the United
- 9:36Speaker 4: States would take over the Strait of Hormus and become
- 9:39Speaker 4: its guardian now. Trump first announced that twenty percent reimbursement
- 9:43Speaker 4: on Monday, declaring that the United States and the Straight
- 9:47Speaker 4: of hor moves would be open and it will remain
- 9:49Speaker 4: open with or without Iran. And that is when he
- 9:53Speaker 4: said the United States was reinstating that Iranian blockade, which
- 9:57Speaker 4: would only stop Iran ships or customer from entering or leaving,
- 10:01Speaker 4: while all other countries would have fair and open use
- 10:04Speaker 4: of the strait. Trump said the United States would expect
- 10:07Speaker 4: to be reimbursed for protecting international shipping at that rate
- 10:11Speaker 4: of twenty percent on all cargo ships. Now, the President
- 10:14Speaker 4: has clearly changed that. Now here's what's happened. When it
- 10:17Speaker 4: comes to the price of the pump. Oil prices have
- 10:20Speaker 4: risen four percent in early trading on Monday going into Tuesday.
- 10:24Speaker 4: Goldman Sachs came out and warned that the renewed escalation
- 10:28Speaker 4: would increase short term risk of higher prices by further
- 10:31Speaker 4: disrupting golf exports. And that is exactly why the President's
- 10:35Speaker 4: made it clear that in America, we have to continue
- 10:38Speaker 4: to drill, baby, drill. One thing is for sure, the
- 10:41Speaker 4: President is being very proactive right now making sure that
- 10:45Speaker 4: Iran doesn't hold the world hostage. And also the President
- 10:49Speaker 4: says the US will knock out Iran's power plants and
- 10:52Speaker 4: bridges next week unless the regime makes a deal. Take
- 10:57Speaker 4: a listen to what the President had to say in
- 10:59Speaker 4: his own worlds. Strikes were seen this week against Iran
- 11:03Speaker 4: will expand, are you considering hitting energy targets or other locations.
- 11:08Speaker 1: I'll save the energy targets for last, but ultimately we'll
- 11:13Speaker 1: hit energy targets. Yeah, but we're going to hit them
- 11:16Speaker 1: very hard. Tonight, We're going to hit them very hort.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Tomorrow night, we're gonna hit him very hard the night after.
- 11:22Speaker 1: And then next week it gets really bad for them
- 11:25Speaker 1: because next week comes the power plants. Next week comes
- 11:31Speaker 1: the bridges. We're going to knock out all their power plants.
- 11:34Speaker 1: We're going to knock out all the bridges unless they
- 11:36Speaker 1: get to the table and negotiate.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Do you believe the Iranians are serious about making a deal.
- 11:41Speaker 1: I think they have no choice.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Why haven't they yet?
- 11:44Speaker 1: I think if I didn't do the way I'm doing,
- 11:47Speaker 1: they would never make a deal.
- 11:48Speaker 4: So there's the President in his own words, saying that
- 11:51Speaker 4: next week the US will not out RAN's power plants
- 11:54Speaker 4: and bridges unless the regime makes a deal. We'll obviously
- 11:59Speaker 4: keep you updated on all of this. Next story Number two,
- 12:03Speaker 4: All sixty seven economists got Donald Trump's inflation report wrong.
- 12:09Speaker 4: That's right, America. They want you to believe the economy
- 12:13Speaker 4: is terrible. But real inflation it just dropped by zero
- 12:17Speaker 4: point four percent.
- 12:19Speaker 2: That is the biggest drop in six years.
- 12:22Speaker 4: Bloomberg surveyed sixty seven economists, and sixty seven of those economists,
- 12:27Speaker 4: like I said, got it wrong. Now, the latest consumer
- 12:31Speaker 4: price Index shows that inflation cooled much more than the
- 12:35Speaker 4: analysts had expected. Consumer price is following zero point four
- 12:39Speaker 4: percent from the previous month. Again, that is the largest
- 12:43Speaker 4: monthly decline since the early months of the COVID nineteen pandemic. Now,
- 12:48Speaker 4: while the annual inflation rate slowed also to three point five,
- 12:52Speaker 4: down from four point two in May. Economists had generally
- 12:55Speaker 4: expected inflation to well somewhat cool, but not the much
- 13:00Speaker 4: and certainly not this fast.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Now.
- 13:03Speaker 4: The financial markets, they reacted quickly. Stocks moved higher, Treasury
- 13:08Speaker 4: yields fell, and investors increased expectations that the Federal Reserve
- 13:13Speaker 4: could leave interest rates unchanged in the near term because
- 13:16Speaker 4: inflation came in cooler than forecasted by all the quote
- 13:20Speaker 4: unquote experts. Now, much of the improvement came from lower
- 13:25Speaker 4: energy costs, gasoline prices dropped sharply during June, contributing significantly
- 13:30Speaker 4: to the overall decline in inflation, and while lower fuel
- 13:33Speaker 4: prices were the biggest driver, the report also showed that
- 13:36Speaker 4: core inflation now that includes food and energy, was essentially
- 13:40Speaker 4: flat for the month and slow to two point six
- 13:43Speaker 4: percent over the past year. That's not just good news.
- 13:47Speaker 4: That is great news for all Americans. As for President Trump,
- 13:51Speaker 4: this report is an opportunity for him to argue that
- 13:54Speaker 4: the economy is moving in the right direction under his administration.
- 13:58Speaker 4: And throughout the year, he had made that inflation would
- 14:01Speaker 4: come down while economic growth remain resilient, and today's report
- 14:05Speaker 4: supports the view that inflation ease more than many forecasters
- 14:10Speaker 4: had anticipated. You got to ask yourself the question, is
- 14:14Speaker 4: it because the media and the economists they hate President
- 14:17Speaker 4: Trump and they want him to have a big loss
- 14:20Speaker 4: in the midterm elections.
- 14:21Speaker 2: That's why they keep preaching doom and gloom.
- 14:24Speaker 4: Even though I'll say it again, this is the biggest
- 14:27Speaker 4: inflation drop in six years. Now what this also means,
- 14:31Speaker 4: and it's also very important for you to understand that
- 14:34Speaker 4: this report represents meaningful progress compared with the elevated inflation
- 14:40Speaker 4: reading scene earlier this year. When you have lower monthly inflation,
- 14:44Speaker 4: that can translate into less pressure on household budgets, and
- 14:47Speaker 4: it also reduces the need for additional interest rate increases
- 14:50Speaker 4: if the trend continued. The bottom line is this, today's
- 14:55Speaker 4: inflation report came in much better than expected. That's why
- 14:59Speaker 4: the media is not going to be talking about it.
- 15:01Speaker 4: And if it was a bad report, it would have
- 15:04Speaker 4: been leading the news on every channel, but now they
- 15:07Speaker 4: don't want you to know this Now the markets they
- 15:10Speaker 4: also welcome the news. It also strengthened the argument that
- 15:14Speaker 4: inflation pressures ease significantly during June could be a real
- 15:19Speaker 4: sign of what's to come. Now, whether this marks the
- 15:22Speaker 4: beginning of a lasting trend, it's going to depend on
- 15:25Speaker 4: the future reports. It's going to depend on energy prices
- 15:29Speaker 4: and broader economic conditions. But one thing is for sure.
- 15:32Speaker 4: Today's data shows that were undeniably stronger as a country
- 15:37Speaker 4: than all the economists talking to Bloomberg had anticipated. And
- 15:42Speaker 4: the reason why is because President Donald Trump continues to
- 15:45Speaker 4: push policies that put the American worker ahead of everyone else.
