- 0:04Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Outspoken.
- 0:06Speaker 2: It's your dose of the hottest influencer and pop culture
- 0:09Speaker 2: news twice a week. I'm Kate Torber and coming up
- 0:12Speaker 2: on today's show, Talia Skane shocks followers by listing Dream
- 0:16Speaker 2: Bali Villa for sale. The surprise contestants set to appear
- 0:19Speaker 2: on the new Bachelor spinoff and Meghan Markle's Mad March continues.
- 0:24Speaker 2: But first, Molly Mae and Tommy Fury have all but
- 0:27Speaker 2: confirmed their back together after jetting off on a family
- 0:30Speaker 2: holiday to their happy place, Dubai. The reunion comes seven
- 0:33Speaker 2: months after the shock split following Tommy's issues with alcohol.
- 0:37Speaker 2: So if an eagle-eyed fan was the first to raise
- 0:40Speaker 2: the alarm on Thursday, spotting them at Manchester airport. Yeah,
- 0:43Speaker 2: this photo was all over my For You page and
- 0:45Speaker 2: it showed the family of three lining up to board
- 0:48Speaker 2: their flight. Now, UK tabloid The Sun ran with the
- 0:51Speaker 2: photos straight away, reporting that they were accompanied by a
- 0:54Speaker 2: nanny so they could spend more alone time together. The
- 0:58Speaker 2: tabloid also spoke to onlookers. One source said, Another said,
- 1:20Speaker 2: I wonder if this was a situation where people just
- 1:23Speaker 2: felt too awkward.
- 1:24Speaker 1: To ask for a photo. Yeah, I would not have
- 1:26Speaker 1: gone up.
- 1:26Speaker 2: I think a lot of people aren't really socially aware
- 1:29Speaker 2: when they come across celebrities and they wouldn't have respected
- 1:31Speaker 2: that it was awkward. Well, they don't appear to be
- 1:34Speaker 2: hiding the fact they're away together because both of them
- 1:37Speaker 2: are posting about being in Dubai. They haven't yet posted
- 1:40Speaker 2: any photos of them together. But all of their photos
- 1:43Speaker 2: are in the same resort. It's with their daughter, Bambi. Well,
- 1:46Speaker 2: that's the thing, because straight away, the mainstream media started
- 1:49Speaker 2: touting this as a secret reconciliation holiday. So I think
- 1:53Speaker 2: that they both thought, well, everyone's talking about it. We
- 1:56Speaker 2: may as well post about the trip. Did anyone notice
- 1:59Speaker 2: that Tommy's photos were a lot better now on his
- 2:01Speaker 2: Instagram story?
- 2:02Speaker 1: I was like, clearly Molly has taken this photo.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not a shot of his Sunday roast with
- 2:06Speaker 2: a Coca-Cola. Well, he's been taking some pretty nice photos
- 2:09Speaker 2: of her as well. And you can read a lot
- 2:11Speaker 2: into the captions because Molly keeps calling this her special place.
- 2:15Speaker 1: And Tommy also.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Uploaded a video of him with Bambi and he was
- 2:19Speaker 2: floating on a pool toy with her and he said,
- 2:21Speaker 2: the dream. So I just think that they are trying
- 2:25Speaker 2: to soft launch that they're back on.
- 2:26Speaker 1: This is not a soft launch. This is a hard launch.
- 2:29Speaker 2: I wonder if they are contractually obligated not to publicly
- 2:33Speaker 2: say that they're back together. Perhaps Perhaps Prime has said
- 2:37Speaker 2: you can't say it until we air this doco.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Otherwise, no one's going to want to watch it.
- 2:40Speaker 2: I think they know that they're giving the fans what
- 2:43Speaker 2: they want as well. I think they're confident that everyone's
- 2:45Speaker 2: going to be ecstatic. Well, most people are going to
- 2:47Speaker 2: be ecstatic that they're back together.
- 2:49Speaker 1: So they feel.
- 2:50Speaker 2: okay to be posting it because it looks like the
- 2:52Speaker 2: most wholesome trip. I just hope they're vlogging it. You know,
- 2:54Speaker 2: maybe they can't put it out right away, but come on.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Can you imagine if you were at the resort watching this?
- 2:59Speaker 2: Like this would be the best people watching ever. Well,
- 3:02Speaker 2: Molly actually put up a photo of Bambi playing with
- 3:04Speaker 2: this older group of kids and was gushing about how
- 3:07Speaker 2: beautiful it was and they took such good care of her.
- 3:09Speaker 1: I wonder if the parents.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Of those kids were like, go over there and find
- 3:12Speaker 2: out what's going on.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Another photo on Molly's story caught my eye.
- 3:16Speaker 2: It was of like a can of Coke and then
- 3:18Speaker 2: what looked like two watermelon cocktails.
- 3:20Speaker 1: And I was like, are they mocktails or cocktails? Surely
- 3:23Speaker 1: they're mocktails.
- 3:24Speaker 2: At first I thought maybe the soft drink was for Bambi,
- 3:26Speaker 2: but now I'm thinking maybe it was for the nanny.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Maybe they were all just having a drink together and
- 3:30Speaker 2: maybe they were mocktails. Look. They're pretty loaded. They might
- 3:33Speaker 2: just have bought two drinks. Like Molly might have bought
- 3:35Speaker 2: two drinks for herself. Oh, I was just more concerned
- 3:38Speaker 2: about the alcohol and it just had her mum in
- 3:40Speaker 2: the doco ringing in my ear that every occasion seemed
- 3:43Speaker 2: to turn negative with Tommy and alcohol. So I'm very
- 3:46Speaker 2: much hoping that they are mocked as it's kind of
- 3:48Speaker 2: a strange thing to.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Post if you're back with Tommy.
- 3:51Speaker 2: It seems like they've chosen Dubai for a specific reason.
- 3:54Speaker 2: It was the first holiday that they went on with
- 3:57Speaker 2: their daughter Bambi. She was only three months old when
- 3:59Speaker 2: they took her there. And at the time, Molly described
- 4:02Speaker 2: it as the happiest time of her life since she'd
- 4:04Speaker 2: given birth to Bambi. I feel like they're trying to
- 4:07Speaker 2: recreate the magic.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Of the first trip. Wait, are they filming for Prime still?
- 4:11Speaker 2: Like you mentioned about a YouTube, but is this going
- 4:14Speaker 2: to be on the show? Hopefully. Surely it will be
- 4:16Speaker 2: part of the documentary. Maybe that will be the winding
- 4:19Speaker 2: up shots. It will be like, and they all lived
- 4:21Speaker 2: happily ever after. Imagine if Tommy proposes over there and
- 4:25Speaker 2: that's the next series. So does he have to propose
- 4:27Speaker 2: again now that they've broken up or? If they get
- 4:30Speaker 2: back together, does that mean they're still engaged? Look, I
- 4:33Speaker 2: know we're all very excited about it, but I do
- 4:35Speaker 2: have a few concerns. This relationship only broke up seven
- 4:38Speaker 2: months ago. I wonder if there has been enough time
- 4:40Speaker 2: to iron out a lot of the issues that Tommy's
- 4:42Speaker 2: had with alcohol. It seems like there were further issues
- 4:45Speaker 2: with their relationship with his partying as well and potential
- 4:48Speaker 2: women that he'd been with. Well, we'll probably find out
- 4:51Speaker 2: more in the documentary. And Kate, to answer your question,
- 4:53Speaker 2: I think if you've broken up for seven months, you
- 4:55Speaker 2: have to do another proposal.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Another ring? Surely not. That ring is big enough.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Well, Molly seemed really happy in a recent vlog and
- 5:02Speaker 2: she actually gushed about the upcoming holiday saying this.
- 5:06Speaker 3: Going to Dubai with Bambi and we are going for
- 5:10Speaker 3: a little holiday, but I feel like I'm going to
- 5:16Speaker 3: really have some fun. like, nice time off and just, like,
- 5:20Speaker 3: really switch off. Like, I'm still going to post and stuff.
- 5:22Speaker 3: It's needed, this little trip. And I'm actually, like, very much,
- 5:26Speaker 3: as you guys know, like, a home girl. I love
- 5:29Speaker 3: my time at home. I never really crave the need
- 5:32Speaker 3: to go away. Like, I'm so content when I'm at home. It's, like,
- 5:35Speaker 3: my happiest times. But recently, I have been craving a
- 5:39Speaker 3: little getaway and just some time to kind of just, like, escape.
- 5:46Speaker 2: I saw there were so many comments and they were
- 5:48Speaker 2: all like, I'm so happy to see you with Tommy.
- 5:50Speaker 1: Have a great time in Dubai with Tommy.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Well, she did admit the fact that she was going
- 5:54Speaker 2: with Tommy. And again, it really does make me think
- 5:56Speaker 2: that they have signed something with Prime. Well, the general
- 5:58Speaker 2: consensus I feel on TikTok is that everyone is happy
- 6:01Speaker 2: about this news. There was a TikToker who actually spotted
- 6:04Speaker 2: the couple in Dubai and she shared a post saying,
- 6:07Speaker 2: may or may not have just witnessed our favorite blonde
- 6:09Speaker 2: with her baby girl and man in Dubai mall. And
- 6:12Speaker 2: this led followers to write, I genuinely feel like they're
- 6:15Speaker 2: on a make or break holiday. We're all rooting for them.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Whilst another said, I love this. One couple I want
- 6:21Speaker 2: to work. There are, however, some people who don't actually
- 6:25Speaker 2: think that this means that they're back together and maybe
- 6:28Speaker 2: they're just very mature and a co-parenting, but there is
- 6:32Speaker 2: no way you wouldn't be talking about how special this
- 6:36Speaker 2: holiday is. You'd be talking about how challenging it is
- 6:39Speaker 2: to be there with your ex.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Well, spare a.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Thought for the nanny, regardless of what kind of trip
- 6:43Speaker 2: this is or what relationship status they are.
- 6:46Speaker 1: It'd be fucking awkward, wouldn't it?
- 6:48Speaker 2: But maybe it's good that there's someone else there to
- 6:51Speaker 2: bounce off and You know, you kind of put more
- 6:53Speaker 2: of an effort in when there's a third party. Yeah,
- 6:56Speaker 2: but she's probably off with Bambi doing stuff, letting them
- 6:59Speaker 2: have their alone time.
- 7:00Speaker 1: I don't know if they're travelling around as this. Also,
- 7:02Speaker 1: I think you need to spare a thought for Molly's
- 7:04Speaker 1: sister Zoe.
- 7:05Speaker 2: It has got to be really awkward for her because
- 7:08Speaker 2: she was very vocal on the Prime doco about how
- 7:11Speaker 2: she didn't think that they should get back together and
- 7:13Speaker 2: that he was bad news and that she clashed with him. Well,
- 7:16Speaker 2: what's even more awkward is that Zoe recently put out
- 7:19Speaker 2: a vlog where she revealed that she and Danny are
- 7:22Speaker 2: actually moving into Molly's house with her. So they live
- 7:25Speaker 2: in quite a small apartment or it looks like an
- 7:28Speaker 2: apartment or a unit at the moment. And she said
- 7:30Speaker 2: that now that she's an influencer, she's so inundated with
- 7:33Speaker 2: packages and receiving goods that they actually don't have room
- 7:36Speaker 2: in their house.
- 7:37Speaker 1: They don't have enough storage. So they were going to.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Rent a house and Molly called her up and said, well, hey,
- 7:43Speaker 2: have you ever just considered temporarily moving in with me?
- 7:45Speaker 1: So a lot of people are saying, Well, does this mean.
- 7:48Speaker 2: That Tommy and Molly aren't getting back together if they've
- 7:50Speaker 2: got their sister moving in? Yeah, but this is also
- 7:52Speaker 2: because Zoe and her husband are looking to buy a house. Yes.
- 7:56Speaker 2: I mean, maybe it'll be for the short term. Maybe
- 7:58Speaker 2: they need a buffer, Kate, as you were saying with
- 7:59Speaker 2: the nanny. Like maybe they need Zoe and Danny there.
- 8:02Speaker 2: You're not going to bring in a buffer who does
- 8:04Speaker 2: not like your partner or ex-partner. I think it's just
- 8:07Speaker 2: a temporary fix while Molly needs the help of other babysitters, really.
- 8:13Speaker 3: Spend the morning with me as a self-employed Australian living
- 8:15Speaker 3: in Bali.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Talia Skanes has shocked her followers by revealing her three-story
- 8:21Speaker 2: villa in Iluatu is up for sale. The Bali-based influencer
- 8:25Speaker 2: has been documenting the build for the past two years
- 8:28Speaker 2: and touted the luxury villa as her permanent home. Now,
- 8:31Speaker 2: so this villa was featured heavily in Talia's content. Yeah,
- 8:34Speaker 2: because a huge part of Talia's channel has been documenting
- 8:37Speaker 2: this villa build. So she moved to Bali with her boyfriend,
- 8:41Speaker 2: Jake Sajano, over two years ago, and they've really taken
- 8:44Speaker 2: followers along for the ride.
- 8:46Speaker 1: We've been a.
- 8:46Speaker 2: Fly on the wall for all of the site checks,
- 8:48Speaker 2: the slab being laid. We've seen the pool going in. Recently,
- 8:52Speaker 2: we also saw a bunch of custom furniture being installed.
- 8:56Speaker 2: And in true influencer style, they also made up a
- 8:58Speaker 2: home account for the villa, which has 6,000 followers. And
- 9:02Speaker 2: they gave it a name because we know that Talia
- 9:04Speaker 2: likes naming her village because she had a villa with
- 9:06Speaker 2: her ex-boyfriend, Mitch Third, which was called Villa Tami.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Was that a combination of their names?
- 9:10Speaker 2: I can't remember.
- 9:11Speaker 1: It was Mitch and Talia.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Yeah. Now this villa is called Casa Su, which means
- 9:16Speaker 2: home at the end of the river. So Even in
- 9:18Speaker 2: the name, it has the word home in it. So
- 9:20Speaker 2: there was a general vibe that this was going to
- 9:22Speaker 2: be their, maybe not forever home, but their home for at.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Least a couple of years. Why does it just remind
- 9:27Speaker 1: me of Ekansu? Ekansu. Well, it's bloody nice.
- 9:30Speaker 2: When you say villa, you kind of think of a small,
- 9:32Speaker 2: maybe one or two bedrooms. This place is massive and
- 9:35Speaker 2: the view is absolutely insane.
- 9:37Speaker 1: It is so luxurious.
- 9:38Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, I would love to live in this house.
- 9:41Speaker 1: It looks incredible.
- 9:42Speaker 2: Talia said that she wasn't actually planning on opening up
- 9:45Speaker 2: about the sale so soon because she said there's still
- 9:48Speaker 2: several months until they officially move out. But she said
- 9:51Speaker 2: that she'd been inundated with so many questions about the villa,
- 9:54Speaker 2: she felt as though she needed to open up. So
- 9:57Speaker 2: she wrote in a Q & A on Instagram, Cass's
- 9:59Speaker 2: suit actually just up for sale so many bittersweet conflicting
- 10:02Speaker 2: emotions Sue is the most incredible home I am beyond
- 10:06Speaker 2: obsessed and she exceeded sorry for some reason it cracks
- 10:08Speaker 2: me up they refer to the house as a woman
- 10:10Speaker 2: and she exceeded all expectations I've honestly dreaded this day
- 10:14Speaker 2: since before we even started building but I'm also super
- 10:17Speaker 2: excited for the future. That's a bit of a weird
- 10:20Speaker 2: thing because it gives off the impression that they were
- 10:21Speaker 2: always going to sell. Well, it comes as a shock
- 10:24Speaker 2: to a lot of people because they only just completed
- 10:27Speaker 2: the villa in September of last year. So they've really
- 10:30Speaker 2: only lived there for a couple of months when it's
- 10:32Speaker 2: been completed. And there was a lot of speculation that
- 10:34Speaker 2: maybe Talia and Jake might be moving back home, but
- 10:38Speaker 2: they later confirmed that they're staying put in Bali. Well,
- 10:40Speaker 2: he is a property developer and this is his bread
- 10:43Speaker 2: and butter. But as you said, it was always touted
- 10:45Speaker 2: as being their home. I wonder if they just got
- 10:48Speaker 2: an offer that was too good to turn down. Yeah,
- 10:50Speaker 2: it's really confusing, Kate, because they never promoted it as
- 10:53Speaker 2: an investment property. As you said, he is part of
- 10:55Speaker 2: a development company in Bali, which describes itself as his
- 10:58Speaker 2: premier property developer called the Local Villa Group. And as
- 11:03Speaker 2: you said, maybe it shouldn't come as such a surprise,
- 11:04Speaker 2: but They never said it was an investment property. They
- 11:07Speaker 2: said it was their dream home that they were building.
- 11:09Speaker 2: And even up until recently, Talia created a broadcast channel
- 11:13Speaker 2: for Casa Su and she wrote that she was struggling
- 11:15Speaker 2: to sleep at night because she's that excited about.
- 11:18Speaker 1: The new house. And she said, it's my dream home.
- 11:20Speaker 2: And she just can't believe that she gets to wake
- 11:23Speaker 2: up to this every day. Something is going on behind
- 11:25Speaker 2: the scenes. I mean, I remember when Leah Acenas put
- 11:28Speaker 2: her house up on the market and then suddenly she's
- 11:31Speaker 2: obviously moved to the Gold Coast.
- 11:32Speaker 1: So There's always something going on behind the scenes.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Or maybe she doesn't want to be in Iluatu anymore.
- 11:37Speaker 2: I wonder if either a really great opportunity for land
- 11:41Speaker 2: in a better spot has opened up or there's a
- 11:44Speaker 2: villa that they really want to renovate. Because she mentioned
- 11:46Speaker 2: in a recent YouTube video that she's working on a
- 11:49Speaker 2: new project that she's not going to open up about
- 11:51Speaker 2: until the end of the year. And she teased, if
- 11:53Speaker 2: you like the journey of Kasasu, you will like the
- 11:56Speaker 2: latest project. So maybe they see developing these villas as
- 12:00Speaker 2: part of content strategy and as part of her brand.
- 12:03Speaker 2: And now that it's done, are people going to lose
- 12:05Speaker 2: interest in her content? So how do they actually make money?
- 12:08Speaker 2: Because I understand if you are not a Balinese local,
- 12:11Speaker 2: you can't actually purchase land in Bali. Yeah, it's really
- 12:13Speaker 2: interesting because Australians can't own land outright in Bali. They
- 12:18Speaker 2: have to be listed as a leaseholder. So they can
- 12:20Speaker 2: only acquire property rights through this leasehold agreement where basically
- 12:25Speaker 2: the property owner grants them the right to use and
- 12:28Speaker 2: manage the property for a fixed period of time. In
- 12:30Speaker 2: the case of Casa Su, the property has a leasehold
- 12:33Speaker 2: until December 2056. Wow, that's a long time away. You
- 12:38Speaker 2: touched on before, Kate, that maybe Jake and Talia got
- 12:40Speaker 2: an offer on the villa that was too good to
- 12:42Speaker 2: be true, but they've actually listed it through a very
- 12:46Speaker 2: popular Balinese realtor at the moment.
- 12:48Speaker 1: So it's all over their social.
- 12:49Speaker 2: So it looks like they don't have a current buyer
- 12:51Speaker 2: and they're putting a lot of marketing into trying to
- 12:54Speaker 2: get the best price possible.
- 12:55Speaker 1: It doesn't mean that they haven't.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Been inundated with offers though, because Georgie Stevenson recently had
- 13:01Speaker 2: some trouble selling her Gold Coast mansion. She's now actually
- 13:05Speaker 2: renting it out, but it was actually passed in an
- 13:07Speaker 2: auction for the first time they put it up for
- 13:09Speaker 2: sale and But she had said that they had had
- 13:11Speaker 2: so many different offers over the time that they owned
- 13:14Speaker 2: the house and they were really big offers. So they
- 13:17Speaker 2: probably had a few offers come in that they're like,
- 13:19Speaker 2: we actually can't turn these down. Let's put it on
- 13:21Speaker 2: the market and see how many more come in and
- 13:24Speaker 2: pit these people against each other. I get the vibe
- 13:26Speaker 2: that they plan to just sell this property all along,
- 13:29Speaker 2: but maybe they thought Talia's followers would buy in more
- 13:31Speaker 2: if they thought we're following the journey of you building
- 13:34Speaker 2: your dream home as opposed to We're following the journey
- 13:36Speaker 2: of you building an investment portfolio on property.
- 13:39Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 13:39Speaker 2: I think that's a pretty earnest look at it. I
- 13:41Speaker 2: think that there's more going on behind the scenes than
- 13:43Speaker 2: we know.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Well, they might have run out of money and need
- 13:45Speaker 1: to sell.
- 13:47Speaker 2: It's a heritage brand, but we're bringing it forward into 2025.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Anticipation is growing for Nine's new spin-off of The Bachelor.
- 13:56Speaker 2: The new series called The Golden Bachelor will see older
- 13:59Speaker 2: contestants competing for love with one familiar face getting viewers excited. Yeah,
- 14:04Speaker 2: so none other than Abby Chatfield's mum, Laura, has been
- 14:07Speaker 2: packed on the set of the.
- 14:08Speaker 1: New series, which is being filmed in Sydney. What an
- 14:11Speaker 1: absolute get from the producers.
- 14:13Speaker 2: Yeah, well, it seemed like it was only going to
- 14:14Speaker 2: be a matter of time before we saw Abby's mum
- 14:17Speaker 2: popping up on a reality show because In 2021, Abby
- 14:20Speaker 2: actually created a petition for her mum to become the bachelorette.
- 14:24Speaker 1: Oh, I forgot about that.
- 14:25Speaker 2: And then in 2023, Abby did an interview with the
- 14:28Speaker 2: Sydney Morning Herald and she was talking about how amazing
- 14:31Speaker 2: her mum would be if there was a golden bachelorette.
- 14:34Speaker 2: So this was off the back of the golden bachelor
- 14:37Speaker 2: being commissioned in the US. So they've obviously headhunted her
- 14:40Speaker 2: for the show. I've seen a lot more of Laura
- 14:42Speaker 2: also popping up on Abby's Instagram and TikTok. There was
- 14:45Speaker 2: this funny video where Laura had purchased Adam and Abby
- 14:49Speaker 2: this like sex.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Dice, basically.
- 14:51Speaker 2: It had all these different positions for them to drive.
- 14:53Speaker 1: For her daughter.
- 14:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:55Speaker 1: And I was like, oh my God, what a character.
- 14:57Speaker 2: It's very clever because Channel 9 are going to get
- 14:59Speaker 2: so much free social media publicity with Abby sharing about
- 15:03Speaker 2: this series. And I think the connection to Abby is
- 15:06Speaker 2: going to draw a lot of viewers in. Well, Abby
- 15:09Speaker 2: has a connection with Channel 9. She is a judge
- 15:11Speaker 2: on the show, The Masked Singer. So it ties in
- 15:13Speaker 2: really nicely for them. What's amusing is that the casting
- 15:17Speaker 2: director has come out and said what a struggle it
- 15:19Speaker 2: was to actually find contestants for this show. And it
- 15:22Speaker 2: has a lot to do with the age demographics. So
- 15:24Speaker 2: the original call out said that they were looking for
- 15:27Speaker 2: people between 60 and 75 who were looking for the last.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Great love of their life.
- 15:33Speaker 2: The issue is that a lot of the people who
- 15:35Speaker 2: applied apparently didn't know how to upload photos and videos online.
- 15:41Speaker 2: So they've had to go to quite desperate attempts. So
- 15:43Speaker 2: they've started contacting retirement homes. They also handed out business
- 15:47Speaker 2: cards to race goers at Royal Randwick and started advertising
- 15:51Speaker 2: on the oldie radio stations like 2GB and 3AW.
- 15:55Speaker 1: To fill out this cast.
- 15:56Speaker 2: I suppose the oldies also don't give a shit about
- 15:58Speaker 2: their social media following. So They really do need to
- 16:01Speaker 2: find older people who actually want to fall in love.
- 16:04Speaker 2: And I think that's what's actually going to make this
- 16:06Speaker 2: show good. People are going to be there for the
- 16:08Speaker 2: right reasons and not to get fame on social media.
- 16:11Speaker 2: That's one of the big reasons why The Bachelor got
- 16:14Speaker 2: axed from Channel 10, because people had enough of this
- 16:16Speaker 2: series because they were finding that most of the people
- 16:19Speaker 2: who went on were only going on to become influencers.
- 16:22Speaker 2: And people were actually missing that true love story. Surely
- 16:26Speaker 2: a lot of these people's kids are applying for them. Well,
- 16:28Speaker 2: in the initial call out, it did say if anyone
- 16:30Speaker 2: knows of anyone that should be on the show. So
- 16:33Speaker 2: surely these people's kids or grandkids can help them upload
- 16:36Speaker 2: a video. Yeah. Well, ironically, the Golden Bachelor himself is
- 16:40Speaker 2: actually a lot younger than what the casting agencies originally wanted.
- 16:44Speaker 2: So he's only in his 50s. He's an infrastructure engineer
- 16:47Speaker 2: from Sydney and he's been dubbed as a passionate sailor
- 16:51Speaker 2: who has three sons between the ages of 17 and 21.
- 16:53Speaker 2: And it's a sad story because his wife, Audrey, passed
- 16:57Speaker 2: away in 2011 after being diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour.
- 17:01Speaker 1: Oh, that's awful.
- 17:02Speaker 2: What I found funny about the marketing of this show
- 17:05Speaker 2: is they're trying to portray it's like all these oldies.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Coming on, but this guy... He's not your typical 50-year-old.
- 17:12Speaker 1: He looks a bit like Tim Robards. He's got a six-pack.
- 17:15Speaker 1: The 50's not even that old.
- 17:16Speaker 2: I was going to say, 50's pretty young. But the
- 17:18Speaker 2: fact they were going around to retirement villages to try
- 17:21Speaker 2: and cast for this show, I wonder how he's going
- 17:23Speaker 2: to feel about it. I wonder if it's going to
- 17:24Speaker 2: have a bit of a cougar vibe, if the cast
- 17:26Speaker 2: of females are going to be in their 70s and
- 17:28Speaker 2: he's only in his 50s.
- 17:29Speaker 1: It would be a bit weird.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Well, apparently a source told the Daily Mail that his
- 17:32Speaker 2: sons are always complaining that he's bringing around the wrong
- 17:35Speaker 2: kind of girls that are too young and hot for him. Oh,
- 17:38Speaker 2: so he's into the younger ones. Maybe he's on there
- 17:41Speaker 2: to build his profile then.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Maybe. Well, he is a.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Lot younger than the US's Golden Bachelor. So he was
- 17:47Speaker 2: 72 and he ended up marrying one of the contestants
- 17:50Speaker 2: on a TV special, but they got divorced a few
- 17:53Speaker 2: months later. But the Golden Bachelor was a massive success
- 17:57Speaker 2: in the US. It brought in over 6.1 million viewers
- 18:01Speaker 2: for its finale episode. And that was the most watched
- 18:04Speaker 2: Bachelor episode in three years. So I think nine are
- 18:07Speaker 2: hoping for the same success. It's because we want some
- 18:09Speaker 2: good personalities. We want a real love story. And I
- 18:12Speaker 2: think that it's something.
- 18:14Speaker 1: A little bit different.
- 18:15Speaker 2: Well, I think they're going for a bit more of
- 18:16Speaker 2: a feel-good vibe because they've got rid of Osher. Samantha
- 18:19Speaker 2: Armitage is hosting the show.
- 18:21Speaker 1: I don't know if I like that change.
- 18:22Speaker 2: She recently hosted Farmer Wants a Wife, and that was
- 18:25Speaker 2: very popular for being a bit more wholesome and authentic.
- 18:29Speaker 2: They just need to get the casting right and also
- 18:31Speaker 2: the promotion because I always think the Aussie Bachelor has
- 18:35Speaker 2: never been as good as the US one because they
- 18:37Speaker 2: didn't go there with like the fantasy suite. They never
- 18:40Speaker 2: had the fantasy suite and the opportunity to forgo their
- 18:43Speaker 2: separate bedrooms. I feel like The Bachelor was pretty good
- 18:46Speaker 2: in the early stages. Like the series where Matty J
- 18:49Speaker 2: got his heart broken was probably one of my favourites.
- 18:52Speaker 2: It was good but that's because we didn't have a
- 18:54Speaker 2: streaming service and everyone was was watching it at home together.
- 18:58Speaker 1: And it was like that water cooler moment.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Like I remember at work, before The Bachelor would air,
- 19:03Speaker 2: everyone would have kind of like the Melbourne Cup where
- 19:04Speaker 2: they cut up all.
- 19:05Speaker 1: The faces of the contestants and everyone would get one
- 19:07Speaker 1: and see who won.
- 19:08Speaker 2: But I think these contestants are going to be so
- 19:10Speaker 2: much more likable because as you said, Kate, they're not
- 19:12Speaker 2: going to be looking for Instagram followers. And also the
- 19:15Speaker 2: older you get, the less shit you give. Like I
- 19:18Speaker 2: feel like there's going to be a lot of people
- 19:19Speaker 2: who are going to be really genuine on there. And
- 19:21Speaker 2: that's what people are calling out for. I mean, we've
- 19:23Speaker 2: even seen it with Love Island UK. There was a
- 19:25Speaker 2: lot of talk about how People aren't really wanting to
- 19:28Speaker 2: tune into it anymore because a lot of the contestants
- 19:31Speaker 2: are second guessing themselves because they know so many people
- 19:34Speaker 2: are watching. I feel like the oldies know that people
- 19:36Speaker 2: are watching.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Maybe they just don't care as much.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Yeah, but look at say Molly Mae's grandma on her doco.
- 19:42Speaker 2: Like she was performing to the camera, but it was
- 19:46Speaker 2: comedy gold. Like they just don't even know how funny
- 19:48Speaker 2: they're yeah and there was that popular reality show i
- 19:51Speaker 2: think it was called my mom your dad remember where
- 19:53Speaker 2: the kids would watch their parents interact i feel like
- 19:55Speaker 2: it's going to be a bit like that queen what
- 19:58Speaker 2: are you saying queen queen you're queen so i'm not
- 20:01Speaker 2: hip i'm not queen q-u-e-e-n oh queen.
- 20:05Speaker 1: I'm actually a duchess now.
- 20:08Speaker 2: Meghan Markle's Mad March continues. In the space of a month,
- 20:12Speaker 2: she's released her Netflix lifestyle show and announced a second season,
- 20:16Speaker 2: as well as rebranded her product range. This week, she
- 20:19Speaker 2: also revealed she's dropping a brand new podcast on April 8th.
- 20:23Speaker 2: For those following Meghan closely, it's probably not a huge
- 20:26Speaker 2: surprise because in February, she signed with an American podcast
- 20:30Speaker 2: distributor called Lemonader Media. I had never heard of them before,
- 20:34Speaker 2: but they're best known for producing Julia Lewis Drivers podcasts,
- 20:38Speaker 2: Elaine from Seinfeld, and they also have about 40 other
- 20:41Speaker 2: podcasts within their network. Now, at the time, Megan said
- 20:45Speaker 2: that she was happy to be supporting a female-founded company
- 20:48Speaker 2: and continue her love of podcasting. It is unclear, though,
- 20:52Speaker 2: how much this deal is worth. So her previous deal
- 20:55Speaker 2: with Spotify for archetypes was.
- 20:56Speaker 1: Worth $ 20 million.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Well, they ended up dropping Megan's podcast in 2022. Well,
- 21:01Speaker 2: the claim was that they mutually parted ways. But it
- 21:05Speaker 2: was later reported that Megan and Harry had failed to
- 21:08Speaker 2: meet Spotify's productivity benchmarks. But that's despite the fact that
- 21:12Speaker 2: it seemed to actually rate quite well. I mean, I
- 21:14Speaker 2: think there was probably a bit of hate listening going on. Yeah,
- 21:17Speaker 2: I mean, I personally... listened to a few episodes and
- 21:20Speaker 2: I was like, I don't really, I don't have an
- 21:22Speaker 2: interest in listening anymore. But if people do want to
- 21:25Speaker 2: listen to a part of this new deal with Lemonader,
- 21:28Speaker 2: they're actually redistributing archetypes.
- 21:30Speaker 1: Remember there was.
- 21:31Speaker 2: A huge break between podcast episodes because I think it
- 21:34Speaker 2: was when the Queen passed away and out.
- 21:36Speaker 1: Of respect, they paused the series for a while.
- 21:39Speaker 2: So it was really difficult for her to build any
- 21:41Speaker 2: sort of momentum.
- 21:42Speaker 1: Yeah. And it's kind of like her lifestyle show.
- 21:44Speaker 2: A lot of people were annoyed that it was just
- 21:46Speaker 2: this place to push her famous friendships, because she had
- 21:49Speaker 2: Serena Williams and Mariah Carey, Mindy Kaling. I was interested
- 21:53Speaker 2: to see what Megan would come out with for her
- 21:55Speaker 2: next podcast. And the show is called Confessions of a
- 21:58Speaker 2: Female Founder, and it will be released weekly. So it's
- 22:01Speaker 2: an eight-part series, and it's set to feature candid conversations
- 22:05Speaker 2: between Megan and other females who have launched successful businesses.
- 22:09Speaker 2: Because as we know, Megan is launching her new business.
- 22:12Speaker 2: So The podcast is basically her picking the brains of
- 22:15Speaker 2: other women who had great success in business.
- 22:18Speaker 1: I kind of like that.
- 22:19Speaker 2: As someone who is a female that has two businesses,
- 22:23Speaker 2: I'm really excited to hopefully hear some insightful interviews.
- 22:26Speaker 1: But it does have that 2016 vibe. girl boss vibes,
- 22:31Speaker 1: which I don't like.
- 22:32Speaker 2: What I find amusing about the whole thing is even
- 22:34Speaker 2: in Megan's new show, they were kind of acting like
- 22:36Speaker 2: she just started this small business, but it's like you
- 22:39Speaker 2: are literally the Duchess. Well, to be fair, when you
- 22:42Speaker 2: look at it, she started off by selling jam. So
- 22:44Speaker 2: that is a very small local type of business with
- 22:47Speaker 2: a huge inbuilt following. She's got a bit of a
- 22:48Speaker 2: headstart on some of the smaller businesses or business owners
- 22:52Speaker 2: that might be listening. I'm interested to see who she's
- 22:54Speaker 2: going to interview because she has been criticized for the
- 22:58Speaker 2: guests that she's had on her TV show. A lot
- 23:00Speaker 2: of people have said, oh, these are meant to be
- 23:02Speaker 2: your best friends, but it seems like none of you
- 23:03Speaker 2: know each other. And then when it came to her
- 23:06Speaker 2: podcast archetypes, it was that she had two bigger celebrities
- 23:10Speaker 2: on there. So I'm wondering what sort of entrepreneur she's
- 23:13Speaker 2: going to have on there. One thing that Megan and
- 23:15Speaker 2: her team seem really good at is inclusivity.
- 23:18Speaker 1: We saw it on the show.
- 23:19Speaker 2: I think we're going to hear from a wide range
- 23:21Speaker 2: of women from all walks of life, which will be great. Well, unsurprisingly,
- 23:25Speaker 2: she's already been called a copycat by the media. Everything
- 23:27Speaker 2: Megan seems to do, they seem to say, oh, someone
- 23:29Speaker 2: else has done that.
- 23:30Speaker 1: It's like, no shit. It's a podcast. Well, it's an
- 23:32Speaker 1: interview format. I mean, yeah, it's pretty run of the mill.
- 23:35Speaker 2: Some people are saying it's very similar to the podcast
- 23:37Speaker 2: Confessions of a CEO, while others are saying that she's
- 23:40Speaker 2: stolen the podcast idea from YouTuber Katie Meart, who has
- 23:44Speaker 2: a YouTube series called Confessions of a Female Founder, which
- 23:47Speaker 2: is the exact name of Megan's podcast. I'm guessing the
- 23:50Speaker 2: press just Googled the name of the podcast and then
- 23:52Speaker 2: they came across this YouTube and they're like, right. Well,
- 23:55Speaker 2: Katie has publicly stated in her opinion that it's just
- 23:57Speaker 2: a coincidence. And when asked about the similarity, she said,
- 24:01Speaker 2: I completely understand why people are drawing connections and truly
- 24:04Speaker 2: appreciate the support and understand their intention. But I also
- 24:07Speaker 2: understand coincidence as well. It's highly unlikely Megan ever came
- 24:11Speaker 2: across my channel and but I am flattered by the thought.
- 24:14Speaker 2: What does concern me is how quickly this is turning
- 24:16Speaker 2: into another reason to drag a woman down. That's not
- 24:19Speaker 2: something I want to contribute to. I know firsthand what
- 24:22Speaker 2: it feels like to have my work actually copied. This
- 24:24Speaker 2: isn't that.
- 24:25Speaker 1: I love that she stood up for her.
- 24:27Speaker 2: I know.
- 24:27Speaker 1: That's so nice. And it's very true what she said.
- 24:30Speaker 2: It's like every time Megan releases something new, everyone's on
- 24:34Speaker 2: this witch hunt to find a problem with it. Well,
- 24:36Speaker 2: particularly for Katie, who's built a YouTube channel called on
- 24:39Speaker 2: uplifting other women in business. She wouldn't want to look
- 24:41Speaker 2: like she's dragging anyone down. And can I point out
- 24:43Speaker 2: she has just over 2,000 subscribers.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not like this big thing, is it?
- 24:48Speaker 2: It's not like Megan's probably one of those and has
- 24:50Speaker 2: copied it. She's probably loving the exposure for her YouTube
- 24:53Speaker 2: channel being mentioned in these articles.
- 24:55Speaker 1: And, I mean, at this point in podcasting, nothing is
- 24:58Speaker 1: a new idea.
- 24:59Speaker 2: I mean, this market is so oversaturated and there's only
- 25:02Speaker 2: so many ideas that actually suit an audio platform.
- 25:06Speaker 1: So many podcasts overlap.
- 25:08Speaker 2: I mean, I remember when we first started and we
- 25:09Speaker 2: were told that we were copying Shameless and Shameless were
- 25:12Speaker 2: told that they were copying Mamma Mia and The High Low.
- 25:15Speaker 2: It's like, you know, people can have an interview podcast
- 25:19Speaker 2: where they talk to female founders. It's going to be different.
- 25:21Speaker 2: It's not going to be exactly like the other ones
- 25:23Speaker 2: out there. The drawcard is Megan. That's why people are
- 25:25Speaker 2: going to listen. Yeah, as you say, Kate, it's just
- 25:27Speaker 2: a genre of podcasting. But do you notice that this
- 25:30Speaker 2: type of criticism is only usually levelled at females?
- 25:33Speaker 1: I mean, I've never heard anyone accuse... any of the
- 25:35Speaker 1: sport shows of copying each other. Like, oh, that footy podcast.
- 25:39Speaker 2: Probably because no one wants to fucking listen to that.
- 25:41Speaker 1: In terms of.
- 25:42Speaker 2: This concept, what do you guys think? Is this something
- 25:44Speaker 2: you want to hear Megan talk about or is there
- 25:46Speaker 2: something else you'd prefer?
- 25:47Speaker 1: Well, it's difficult for her, isn't it? Well, she's already
- 25:50Speaker 1: dished the dirt on the Royals, which is what I
- 25:51Speaker 1: would have wanted to hear.
- 25:52Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the number one thing I'd want to hear.
- 25:54Speaker 2: I'd love to hear the behind the scenes of Suits
- 25:56Speaker 2: and her acting career.
- 25:58Speaker 1: I want to hear more about her and her life.
- 26:00Speaker 2: I don't necessarily want to hear her interview other people,
- 26:03Speaker 2: but From the perspective, as I said, of someone who
- 26:05Speaker 2: runs a business, I will be interested to hear the
- 26:08Speaker 2: insights from other women. And we've seen from her shows
- 26:10Speaker 2: and her in the media that she's very smart. She's
- 26:12Speaker 2: very articulate. I think she's going to do a good
- 26:14Speaker 2: job interviewing them. Yeah, but I think what people want
- 26:16Speaker 2: from her is authenticity. And podcast format allows you to
- 26:21Speaker 2: be a bit more off the cuff, to be relatable.
- 26:24Speaker 2: And I think that she really needs to show a
- 26:26Speaker 2: more unpolished side of herself. And to be a little
- 26:28Speaker 2: bit more self-deprecating and maybe talk about the struggles that
- 26:31Speaker 2: she's actually had with her business, particularly the trademarking issues,
- 26:34Speaker 2: which are clearly a big issue. I mean, the fact
- 26:37Speaker 2: that she hasn't even released any of her products in
- 26:40Speaker 2: line with her Netflix show is clearly a big problem
- 26:43Speaker 2: for her. I would really love to hear. what has
- 26:46Speaker 2: actually been going on behind the scenes.
- 26:47Speaker 1: Maybe that's why she's delayed it and not actually spoken
- 26:49Speaker 1: about it. She's saving it for a podcast.
- 26:51Speaker 2: I highly doubt she'll be talking about this. This is
- 26:53Speaker 2: going to be more of an inspirational podcast. One other
- 26:56Speaker 2: thing I would like to hear from her podcast, if
- 26:58Speaker 2: I could have my pick, is her interviewing Harry. Oh, yes.
- 27:01Speaker 1: I would just find it fascinating.
- 27:02Speaker 2: I know we heard a bit about their love story
- 27:04Speaker 2: in the doco they did for Netflix, but I'd like
- 27:07Speaker 2: to hear more about it. I'd like them to do,
- 27:09Speaker 2: is it that 150 questions that make you fall in.
- 27:12Speaker 1: Love with each other?
- 27:13Speaker 2: Yes.
- 27:13Speaker 1: That would be amazing.
- 27:16Speaker 3: You do.
- 27:16Speaker 1: What did you say?
- 27:18Speaker 2: The question.
- 27:20Speaker 3: I said yes.
- 27:23Speaker 2: UK Love Island contestant Luca Bisch has sparked debate about
- 27:27Speaker 2: extravagant proposals after setting up a lavish display for his
- 27:30Speaker 2: Love Island co-star Grace Jackson. So Luca pulled out all
- 27:35Speaker 2: the stops during a paid trip to Abu Dhabi with
- 27:37Speaker 2: a stunning floral set up.
- 27:39Speaker 1: On the beach.
- 27:40Speaker 2: It was very reminiscent of when Travis Barker, proposed to
- 27:44Speaker 2: Kourtney Kardashian, except it had a white theme instead.
- 27:47Speaker 1: There were a lot of white roses. There was a
- 27:50Speaker 1: huge neon sign. It looked absolutely stunning.
- 27:53Speaker 2: I mean, it was quite clear that Luca had nothing
- 27:55Speaker 2: to do with actually setting it up.
- 27:57Speaker 1: It would have been some sort of party planner.
- 27:59Speaker 2: But the kicker to all of this was the sign read,
- 28:02Speaker 2: will you be my girlfriend? So this wasn't even a
- 28:05Speaker 2: marriage proposal. This was Luca asking Grace to be his girlfriend. Well,
- 28:11Speaker 2: this isn't new behaviour from Luca Bisch. Last time he
- 28:13Speaker 2: was on Love Island a couple of years ago, he
- 28:15Speaker 2: did a very extravagant girlfriend proposal to Gemma Owen. Yeah,
- 28:19Speaker 2: so people are slamming him. They're saying he's just rehashed
- 28:22Speaker 2: the same proposal he did for Gemma. But I had
- 28:25Speaker 2: a look back and I actually think his first girlfriend
- 28:28Speaker 2: proposal was more extravagant because he did it at her
- 28:32Speaker 2: family home, which is this huge mansion in the UK.
- 28:34Speaker 2: Because her dad is a famous soccer player, so they're
- 28:37Speaker 2: not short of money. Yeah, and he had a cello
- 28:39Speaker 2: player there. He had a Cartier bracelet waiting for her.
- 28:43Speaker 2: There were balloons in the pool, which spelt out, will
- 28:45Speaker 2: you be my girlfriend? And he even hired a videographer.
- 28:48Speaker 2: So I wonder if Grace would look back at that
- 28:50Speaker 2: and go, wait a sec, this wasn't as nice. Another
- 28:52Speaker 2: sore point might be that this post appears to have
- 28:55Speaker 2: been sponsored. Like the whole trip they were on was
- 28:57Speaker 2: sponsored in Abu Dhabi. So on Instagram, he shared the
- 29:00Speaker 2: photos and wrote, I'll keep this one. And he tagged
- 29:03Speaker 2: a beach club saying, Thank you for bringing my vision
- 29:06Speaker 2: to life so perfectly. Wouldn't have wanted to do this
- 29:09Speaker 2: in any other place.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Look, I'm not surprised that this was sponsored.
- 29:13Speaker 2: It's clear that as soon as the guys leave Love
- 29:16Speaker 2: Island and they're with a partner, some party planner or
- 29:20Speaker 2: event person reaches out and says, hey, can we do
- 29:22Speaker 2: something extravagant? Because I saw Ronnie and Harriet, they had
- 29:27Speaker 2: the similar sort of thing where Ronnie had filled the
- 29:29Speaker 2: whole room with balloons.
- 29:30Speaker 1: Like it's nothing new.
- 29:32Speaker 2: And what's quite interesting though is– Gen Zers in particular
- 29:36Speaker 2: think that they need to have a really grand way
- 29:38Speaker 2: to ask people to be their boyfriend or girlfriend. It's
- 29:41Speaker 2: the same with Valentine's Day. Now you've got to ask
- 29:43Speaker 2: someone to be your Valentine.
- 29:44Speaker 1: You don't just assume.
- 29:45Speaker 2: And it was quite interesting because I was looking at
- 29:47Speaker 2: the comment section and there are a lot of millennials saying,
- 29:51Speaker 2: I didn't even have a conversation with my partner about this,
- 29:53Speaker 2: like about being boyfriend and girlfriend.
- 29:55Speaker 1: It was assumed.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Well, one of our listeners said, my husband just changed
- 29:58Speaker 2: his Facebook relationship status. And I was like, okay, I
- 30:01Speaker 2: guess I'm his girlfriend now. But isn't this a step
- 30:03Speaker 2: up from what we used to experience in our early 20s?
- 30:05Speaker 2: Because the guys that I dated never, ever wanted to
- 30:08Speaker 2: put a label on something. And then you had to
- 30:11Speaker 2: have this awkward conversation about what are we and. But
- 30:15Speaker 2: I actually think it makes it harder because it makes
- 30:17Speaker 2: it look like it's an even bigger deal to just be.
- 30:19Speaker 1: In a relationship. Like at the end of Instagram.
- 30:22Speaker 2: Because it looks like it's some massive proposal, like a
- 30:24Speaker 2: wedding proposal. At least it's kind of like, well, this
- 30:27Speaker 2: is the done thing. So we mustn't be boyfriend and
- 30:31Speaker 2: girlfriend because I haven't been proposed to.
- 30:33Speaker 1: But I just think it shouldn't.
- 30:34Speaker 2: Be that big of a deal to be boyfriend and girlfriend.
- 30:36Speaker 2: I mean, In saying that, I expected for my husband now,
- 30:40Speaker 2: boyfriend at the time, to ask me to be his girlfriend,
- 30:43Speaker 2: but he said he didn't know that that was a thing.
- 30:45Speaker 1: And I think it's because my first.
- 30:46Speaker 2: Boyfriend asked me by giving me flowers and it was
- 30:50Speaker 2: a big deal.
- 30:50Speaker 1: Neon sign and whatnot. But the reason that.
- 30:53Speaker 2: He made it a big deal was because literally rewind
- 30:56Speaker 2: a couple of weeks before and he was off on
- 30:58Speaker 2: a med camp sleeping with a bunch of other girls.
- 31:00Speaker 1: So I think that.
- 31:02Speaker 2: I was going to ask Kate, how did Rhys ask
- 31:04Speaker 2: you to be his girlfriend? it's just a general understanding
- 31:07Speaker 2: that we were boyfriend and girlfriend. I don't think we'd
- 31:10Speaker 2: use the label when I visited his parents.
- 31:13Speaker 1: And I think once you're visiting the parents, you are.
- 31:15Speaker 2: That's what Dale asked me. He literally said, will you
- 31:18Speaker 2: be my girlfriend? I mean, it wasn't as grand as
- 31:20Speaker 2: Luke Abish's proposal. Well, what do you do if like
- 31:24Speaker 2: say Luke Abish ends up with Grace? Yeah.
- 31:27Speaker 1: What's he going to do for the engagement? Like, you know,
- 31:30Speaker 1: how do you top that?
- 31:32Speaker 2: I didn't watch the full series of Love Island.
- 31:34Speaker 1: I had to tap out.
- 31:35Speaker 2: Because it just got quite boring. But Luca Bish is
- 31:39Speaker 2: one of my favorites.
- 31:39Speaker 1: And I really like Grace as well. I have watched
- 31:42Speaker 1: both of.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Their seasons individually. And I don't see this relationship lasting.
- 31:47Speaker 1: I don't really like them together. I don't like them
- 31:48Speaker 1: together either.
- 31:50Speaker 2: I think that they're both lovely individually, but they just
- 31:53Speaker 2: don't seem to match well. And I think that this
- 31:55Speaker 2: will be a very short-lived I think that this might
- 31:58Speaker 2: be similar to his relationship with Gemma Owen. I think
- 32:01Speaker 2: that his big grand proposal could be the kiss of death.
- 32:04Speaker 2: Maybe it might give.
- 32:06Speaker 1: The girls a bit of the ick.
- 32:07Speaker 2: Well, one listener compared the proposal to– you remember on
- 32:11Speaker 2: Laguna Beach?
- 32:11Speaker 1: Remember when they'd ask if they'd go to prom with them? Oh,
- 32:14Speaker 1: I love that. That is such a good call. That
- 32:17Speaker 1: was cute though.
- 32:18Speaker 2: Wouldn't it be so great if being at high school
- 32:21Speaker 2: and the guy that you like does something really creative
- 32:23Speaker 2: and cute?
- 32:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:24Speaker 2: Again, it's– if you're on the other end of it
- 32:26Speaker 2: and no one asks you, quite heartbreaking. Well, I polled
- 32:29Speaker 2: our listeners on Instagram and I asked, is the girlfriend
- 32:32Speaker 2: proposal over the top? And 89% of you said it
- 32:36Speaker 2: was over the top, while 11% said all.
- 32:38Speaker 1: Guys should do this.
- 32:40Speaker 2: I think this reflects our strong millennial listener base because
- 32:43Speaker 2: I think that there's a lot of listeners who probably
- 32:45Speaker 2: weren't even proposed to in such a grand way like
- 32:48Speaker 2: this and think it's It almost seems very showy and.
- 32:52Speaker 1: All for Instagram. Well, a lot of people said it's
- 32:54Speaker 1: just cringe. It is cringe.
- 32:55Speaker 2: Well, that's where we're going to leave things today. Thank
- 32:58Speaker 2: you for listening to another episode of Outspoken. If you
- 33:00Speaker 2: do enjoy the show, we would really love it if
