- 0:28Welcome to the Great Detectives of Old Time Radio from Boise, Idaho. This
- 0:33is your host, Adam Graham, wishing you all a merry Christmas Eve.
- 0:37If you have a comment, email to me Box thirteen at Great Detectives not
- 0:41Net, follow us on Twitter at Radio Detectives, and become one of our
- 0:46friends on Facebook, Facebook dot com slash Radio Detectives. Well, today's episode
- 0:53is brought to you by the financial support of our listeners. Thanks so much
- 0:56for your support, and now we're going to bring you I knew Frank Race
- 1:00pulled abof took over the role after the first twenty two episodes for the final
- 1:07twenty one. This was actually somewhat unusual for de Boff. De bove most
- 1:12of his career playing character roles, and I was kind of struck by that
- 1:19because I select extras that we upload for the premium site and our app that
- 1:26there were so many roles where he was playing just a background character and I
- 1:33only was able to found one or two where he was actually playing a lead
- 1:37role. So incredible career over radio and then moving into television. This was
- 1:42not an uncommon occurrence for the company that produced Frank Race For Syndication. Bruce
- 1:51Els did this for broadcaster's program Syndicate, and they also didd a Western series
- 1:59called for Tiertown, and halfway into that series they also changed lead to actors,
- 2:06moving from Jeff Chandler to Read Hadley. Occasionally they're accused of starting with
- 2:15one actor and downgrading to another. Not really the case. I wouldn't say
- 2:17Paul Dubov was a down grade, and at the time that Frontiertown was made,
- 2:24Jeff Chandler was a relative newcomer, while Read Hadley had been an active
- 2:30part of the Hollywood community for several years. Oh with all that said,
- 2:34let's go ahead and take a listen to today's Adventure of Frank Race, The
- 2:38Adventure of the Green Dubloon The Adventures of Frank Race starring Paul Dubon. The
- 2:55War changed many things, the face of the earth and the people on it.
- 3:00Before the war, Frank Race worked as an attorney, but he traded
- 3:04his law books for the Cloak and Dagger of the Oss and when it was
- 3:07over, his former life was over too. Adventure had become his business,
- 3:14The Adventures of Frank Race. And now we joined Frank Race. While the
- 3:34Adventure of the green double Central American Reign. They go together like bread and
- 3:45jam. Under the combination is not nearly so pleasant. Our plane was a
- 3:47few minutes from the landing field of Kolang Gate to the eastern entrants of the
- 3:52Panama Canal, and Mark Donovan was doing the little dancing zone independent of the
- 3:57atmospheric conditions. Oh oh, brother, Next time I come down this part
- 4:02of the oil, I'm taking a nice slow cattle board. Even if I
- 4:05have to share a room with a wild pull. It is a little bumpy,
- 4:09Mark, a little bumpy. The man says, I would like to
- 4:12see Jean Autrey stay in his seat. If it wasn't abu a safety thought.
- 4:15We're losing allertude. You'll be on the ground in a few minutes.
- 4:16Yeah, I hope the weather is nice. It down there and it's up
- 4:20here. Why do we have to comp to this place for anything? Do
- 4:25zee if we can persuade him embezzlert apart with three hundred thousand dollars in exchange
- 4:28for his freedom three hundred gee's yes, So why didn't they just get in
- 4:32touch with a CoP's done here and have him Lagiannica. The company figures he
- 4:36might give up the money if I can convince him of the error of his
- 4:40ways and promise that no charges will be pressed. Who is the guy?
- 4:45What makes him so shure he's done? His name is David Bellamy, and
- 4:49he's a passenger on the SS Kermit Bompa Peru. According to the timetable,
- 4:54the Kermit figures to be imported Colong waiting to go through the lobs to the
- 4:58Pacific. You would know anything about this, Bellamy can. Yes. He
- 5:01used to be a radio actor and a master of dialects. Then he got
- 5:04in trouble and spent some time in prison. While he was there he learned
- 5:09a cutting brother. He must aligned plenty to be able to juggle three hundred
- 5:12grand Hey, look, if he lined a counting while he was locked up,
- 5:16what did they lock him up for? One of whist play? He
- 5:19served eight years for manslaughter. Mark killed a man with his bare hands.
- 5:32If you're a kid addicted to the making of mudpies, then Klan in the
- 5:36rain will appeal to you. But if you're an adult addicted to the simple
- 5:41comforts of life, there are better places. However, the weather wasn't the
- 5:44only unpleasant feature about Klan. There was an additional unpleasant touch supplied by the
- 5:48Office of the Port Authority. I'm sorry, mister Race, but your friend,
- 5:51mister Bellamy isn't aboard the Kermit. He was when she made port this
- 5:56morning, but he seems to have disappeared. I see, thanks, of
- 5:59course, the ship has just started through the larks. He may catch up
- 6:01along the way. Passengers do missconnection sometimes it's not unusual. Maybe one on
- 6:08a Bendon town. He'll turn up later. We can go on a ship.
- 6:11Waiteful, No, he won't be turning up later. Come on,
- 6:14Marc Franks. Look, how do you know the guy won't be going back
- 6:24to the climate because the passage you booked to Peru's two obvious to throw off.
- 6:29He came this far, but now he'll try to make a connection to
- 6:31go someplace else, and this time he won't leave a trailer. Yeah,
- 6:35but you're not sure that, No, I'm not. But I can make
- 6:38sure you go about the crimit. See if he shows up in the next
- 6:42couple of hours, if he doesn't lead me back here at the port office.
- 6:45Okay, what the where are you going? I'm going to see if
- 6:48I can find out how a man would go about disappearing in the Panama.
- 6:59I knew that Villa he wasn't going to be easy to find away from the
- 7:01ship. He was going to have another name, and since he was an
- 7:04expert in dialects, there was every chance he'd adopt a different nationality. I
- 7:10thought about it as I made my way through the narrow streets deserted in the
- 7:13rainy nights. I seem to be the only man without sheltering color, but
- 7:17I wasn't. Do you have a match, senior? Huh oh, I
- 7:24didn't see you. Yes, I have a match, but I doubt if
- 7:27you can get a light in the rain. Well, I like the rain,
- 7:30sen you. I always get what I want in the rain. People
- 7:33are so nigh. They never refused the Eggo. That isn't a cigarette in
- 7:39your hand, that's a gun. Step into the door. How can I
- 7:46refuse? Now? If the Senor has any valuable he wishes to contribute to
- 7:54the Eggo's welfare fund, the Eggo will be most glatful. I only have
- 7:58a little cash, but the wrist watch is worth a sizeable sons, I'm
- 8:03going to be flight. He bent his head slightly to look at the watch
- 8:07and his gun hand dipped automatically. We were in tight quarters of the doorway.
- 8:11I brought my hands up to under the watch strap. Step quickly to
- 8:16the silent at Diego, have a left and slar PLEXI now trumpet SISI you're
- 8:24in your CITs. That's better. I will confiscate this weapon for the present.
- 8:33This send your dog like a gentleman. Such a gentleman, wouldn't I
- 8:37waste his time taking Diego to the police. Besides, the Ego would be
- 8:43an excellent guy. Ye, come off at Diego. You know the native.
- 8:46You're a Mexican. I can tell by your accent this time. You
- 8:48already clever. They didn't like the eggo in Mexico. So the eggo and
- 8:56run away. And you got this far before you ran out of breath.
- 8:58All right. The police might send Diego back to Mexico, and I can't
- 9:03stand a place on account of my family. Fugitives would get into a place
- 9:09are usually smart enough to have their eye on an exit. Turning Diego over
- 9:13to the Panama authorities might take him off the streets, but it wouldn't bring
- 9:16me close to bellmade. I had a hunch and I played it, Senior.
- 9:22I would do anything to avoid the police. I'm not turning you in.
- 9:26I can't afford it. This senior has a dislike for many junior ones.
- 9:33Let's say the police would rather find me than you. I've got to
- 9:35get out of here, Diego, and I've got to do without a passport.
- 9:37Maybe you know a way from Cologne. Oh awesome, Yo, too
- 9:41many American officers. There must be someplace see see thirty miles to the east,
- 9:48Senoras Porto Bayo. It was once a hiding place of pirates. In
- 9:52Portacobayo is a cafe called the Green Do Loom. The Green Do Loom any
- 9:58propriety, sen you're from a mogul couple, Nie, He's very good at
- 10:03making people disappears. I picked Mark up at our rendezvous and we headed for
- 10:16Portobello, Caribbean hang out of the old time pirates. It was a port
- 10:20of intrigue, an international black hole, a Western Hemisphere counterpart of Shanghai,
- 10:26a Calcutta Suez and at the bottom of the hole with no other spot claiming
- 10:30competition was the Green Dublumining. Oh brother, do you ever want anybody's throat
- 10:39slit? Behalf a buck? This is the blaze Some boots back there by
- 10:43the wall. Let's take one of them. Ain't you going to ask for
- 10:46his cameramortal character. You can die quickly asking questions in a place like this,
- 10:48or sit down and let somebody else do the asking. Yeah, yes,
- 10:52you're right. If you order anything, mark letter, make an American
- 10:56beer. I wouldn't vouch for the beverages in a place like this. Okay,
- 11:00you don't have to vouce for the beverages. But question me, brother,
- 11:03I will vounce for the down, which is walk and taught us here
- 11:05or any place else. Welcome to the green did luon, gentlemen. She
- 11:13was Eurasian, an oriental half cast. When they're beautiful, they make other
- 11:16women take a tight grasp on the arms of their husbands. This one was
- 11:20beautiful, beautiful or not to make a movie? Starts up conscious about her
- 11:24faults. I am mono kamamapo. My father is a proprietor. I see
- 11:31my voice surprises you. I expected more of an accent. My mother was
- 11:35an englishwoman. Your mother and your father are to be congratulated. That is
- 11:41a very nice thing for you to say. But now I will say something
- 11:46to you that will not sound nice. But if you are intelligent, you
- 11:52will be greatful? All right? Baby? What is it? Leave the
- 11:54green dablon, Do not look back, and do not come back? Want
- 12:00to leave more than the grained, the bloom, the want to leave Panama
- 12:03quickly and quietly? Yeah, yeah, fast? There were no more to
- 12:07see? Then you have come in search of escape and and not in pursuit
- 12:11of another. Yes, and I'm ready and willing to pay for my passage?
- 12:16Who who sent you here? A man named Diego We had to leave
- 12:20Mexico rather a Berkley race guy the briar lodis and he ain't friend. I've
- 12:26been watching him. I had better leave me stay. Brought her come back
- 12:31to the bar. She's having a drink with us. I'd better go.
- 12:35He wouldn't make trouble. I grabbed her arm and held her in the chair.
- 12:39A man who had been standing at the bar moved closer. He was
- 12:43a Norwegian seaman. He was wearing a maid's cap. The soiled white shirt
- 12:46was unbuttoned, revealing a powerful hair madded chest. Came over and placed his
- 12:50hands palm down on the table. Did you hear me? Mona, please?
- 12:54Gunna. I've turned you before, I've cut the movement of his hands
- 12:58as they came away from the table. The back of his hand caught across
- 13:00the face. My feet head over behind. Then I had friends, a
- 13:03couple of the Norwegians service, and they moved into the fights. I wan't
- 13:07drop that chair. I'll try. I'm gonna try again, all right,
- 13:15come on right? Somebody intercepted me. I heard the swish of a chair
- 13:18coming through the air and tried to stop. What was the sound of the
- 13:22green doubloon faded out, and so did the rain. Everything faded away into
- 13:26black silence. I came to in a storeroom lighted by a feeble candle.
- 13:37Mark was tressed up in a corner, still unconscious. Two men were seated
- 13:41on a couple of small barrels. One of them was a Japanese yo.
- 13:46Did consider all damage to my place of business? Mister Race, How did
- 13:50you know my name from your American divers license? This is mister Huddle,
- 13:54Oh hello, hello Race. He was wearing a white suit in a panama
- 14:01hat, and neither of them had been improved by the climate. And the
- 14:05small finger of his left hand, however, was a blue, white diamond,
- 14:07which demanded recognition in any climates. I see you're admiring my ring.
- 14:11Raid was a gift from a passenger. The passenger, my daughter tells me,
- 14:18you are anxious to leave Panama. Mister Harrow has accommodations for people who
- 14:22find our company body. I haven't exactly been bored, mister Kamaboto, but
- 14:28if Harrow can get us out of here, I'm ready to leave my aunt
- 14:31to trussers in the harbor. Will sail at four am. I don't imagine
- 14:37you have a passport. If I had a passport, i'd be selling from
- 14:39Kalan. Where's your next port of call? It's a sort of unscheduled,
- 14:46mister Race. You'll be dropped off someplace in South America, Venezuela perhaps,
- 14:50or will there be other passengers one other in addition to you and your friend?
- 15:00Speaking of me and my friend, would you mind untying us? Oh,
- 15:03I'm afraid that isn't quite possible. You see, I'm a stickler for
- 15:07procedure, mister Race, and tying up the passengers as part of the procedure.
- 15:11Yes, you'll be blindfolded taken aboard the yacht just before we sail.
- 15:16The rather uncomfortable journey. But then one must suffer some to attain ones goal.
- 15:22You mean, we'll be tied up all the way until we can put
- 15:26you ashore, mister Race. I can see the point here where somebody might
- 15:28give you away. But why aboard the ship? Future is from the law
- 15:33a risky cargo, mister Rays. The South American nations are rather thorough about
- 15:37their coastal patrol vessels. I have as much at stake there as you have.
- 15:41I wouldn't want to be caught good, because if you are tied up,
- 15:46we can make sure you won't be caught. What do you mean,
- 15:48Harold, You and your friend are hot cargo, mister Race. The only
- 15:52way to carry hot cargo is to be sure you can get rid of If
- 15:58we spotted, mister Race, you'll be weighted down and thrown over the side.
- 16:11We'll return of the adventures of Frank Race in just about one minute,
- 16:22and now back to the Adventures of Frank Race. The sea voyage. With
- 16:33weights around your ankles, there's no vacation at all, especially when you can't
- 16:37change your mind to go to the mountains instead. Even if David Bellamy and
- 16:41his embezzled three hundred thousand dollars were on board, chances of getting the money
- 16:45was sling. The chances of leaving the vessel alive seems even slingbo There's something
- 16:51to think about the dock on the hose, the chaucer pitch to roll their
- 16:55way into the open sea. Oh brother, jumak race, Yeah, yeah,
- 17:04it's me. I think, Hey, what's going on? An earthquake
- 17:08or some we're on board a yacht. Kind gentleman is smuggling. I was
- 17:11into South America? Oh brother, right, and I would sign away my
- 17:15social security to be smuggling. In the book on Navy yat Hey, win
- 17:18a mate, something's wrong with me? Race, I can't move, You're
- 17:22tied up, so coming on timing. I happen to be in the same
- 17:26boat markers, if you'll pardon upon them. Roll around and see if you
- 17:30can work the ropes against something with an edge? All right? Ah,
- 17:36no good? Racing side is some kind of pipe by the what's that matter?
- 17:41Something bounced off my head. It was alive, all right. Probably
- 17:44the whole is full of them. But this I give up driving a nice
- 17:48comfortable cab with not even a mouse in it. A light up there?
- 17:53Somebody coming down? Race? What are you doing the board. I often
- 18:03sail on the Chaucer, my father owned it before. Mister Harold, I've
- 18:07come to help you. You can start by cutting these robes. Do you
- 18:08have a knife? No, but I can go and get one to Risky.
- 18:12There's a very small pen knife on a keychain in my pocket. Yes,
- 18:17yes, I haven't. He's still now. Is there another passenger on
- 18:21the ship? Yes, in the captain's cabin, Captain clost class big gets
- 18:26Bellamie, right, better be Bellamy? How many in the crew were not
- 18:30for including gunner good. I want to see that boy again. Always be
- 18:33careful. He wants to kill you, and this time he has a gun.
- 18:37All of the crew are armed there now are your hands are free?
- 18:44Now you get to work on Mark. I'll untie the leg robes. I'm
- 18:47going up on Deckmark if I can. I'll make the captain's cabin all right?
- 18:51What do you want? I shoot? The want to h see if
- 18:52you can separate one of the crew from a gun and leat me there.
- 19:03There was an oil slicker hanging at the top of the companion way, and
- 19:07I slipped it on for cover. The crew on deck was too busy to
- 19:10becoming noses in the storm. I hugged the rail until I got to the
- 19:12captain's captains, and I caught the door handle and christ him. Hello,
- 19:18Senor Diego, seniory surprise that Diego has enough money for an ocean voyage.
- 19:26You see after you left me, I ran into another man with no wrist
- 19:30watching what's money? He was loaded mound, Diego loaded, You're liable to
- 19:37be loaded with lead before the strip is over, Diego, they have no
- 19:40intention of landing it safely, will be jettisoned to the first time of a
- 19:42coast patrol boat. Only you and your friend and your mount Diable are come
- 19:48for the same reason. Diego was not tied up in a hole. I
- 19:52seek only to escape, Saniel. But you have gone to find somebody.
- 19:56I have come to find somebody. Yes, how did you know I and
- 20:00you are looking for David Bella that he's on board. She sings the poll
- 20:11the reef we snakes got here. Don't go for that gun, Harold.
- 20:17I'm gonna need all the help you can get you. All right, Race,
- 20:18I'll make a deal with you. Take a pop pop on the forward
- 20:21bulkhead. Here you go, you go aft. I'll send your a friend
- 20:22to help you race. All right, you better hit the radio and put
- 20:25out an SOS. That isn't gonna be order. The radio shack smashed.
- 20:27I'll have to project funding. If you've heard out of the sound effects,
- 20:30here's the heart or the palms. Hey, never mind, him will be
- 20:33lucky if any of us could out of this line. Oh brother, it's
- 20:52a blisteredness. Plump race it. It won't be for much longer. Look
- 20:55up ahead, hey, that's land in small Island. There's a patch of
- 20:59clear sky. He's hitting her interview to going oh rather safe in the last.
- 21:03That's the misstatement of the year. Once we hit the common, that
- 21:04lagoon, that's when the trouble starts. I mean, that's when I'm gonna
- 21:07start. Last. We'll have outlived our usefulness. Alright, it's pretty narrow
- 21:11open and internet. They're going, yes, and we're coming into the fast
- 21:15the tide flows picking it up. Now that narrow entrance may save our lives.
- 21:19I need figure there. Foliage comes right down to the water and overhangs.
- 21:22We abandoned ship as soon as we hit the entrance. I mean we
- 21:26dive. I'm afraid, so Marcus les dive or die we'll have a better
- 21:30chance if we can get our feet on land. O brother, what's really
- 21:32riding this tide? Now? This tubb feels like a sight boy. All
- 21:36right, boy, here it comes. Stay under water as much as you
- 21:37can. The kerne will be rough. Good luck, good luckers, all
- 21:41right, diet's gone right. Oh, come out of it, Mark,
- 22:00come out of it. You're all right? Oh oh, And I did
- 22:04the geography port, but I have swallowed the whole ocean, and I don't
- 22:07have to be changed speak in geography. Well, not too far from where
- 22:15we started. A small island off the Panama coasts. Get the ship in
- 22:18all right, Yes, she's beached. Move that brush a little and you
- 22:22can see her. Yeah, killed over that baby ain't gonna sail anymore.
- 22:30But where is everybody? I'm afraid they're beating the brush looking for us.
- 22:33They spot of us when I drag your ashore. This island ain't very big.
- 22:37Race. One of them is liably yelled. They ain't go any minute.
- 22:42Let's come amoto in the tree on the other side of the lagua.
- 22:47I didn't even know he was on board. No, we gotta stay low
- 22:49until it comes down. Anything out on this side, right, for the
- 22:59beach. All right, Mark, they're becoming and there's no way we can
- 23:07avoid them. Better get busy while we can. The letter come around.
- 23:10What are we gonna do? Ever hear of a meleeman trap? What is
- 23:15it? A dame in a surround? Just as effective. They've got to
- 23:17get back into those saplings and pull down some of the vines. We take
- 23:19two of the saplings strong enough to require your weight and mind to bend them,
- 23:22and we stick them to the ground and make a noose from the vines.
- 23:26No kidden well, guns and no guns. I've got to fight THEMP
- 23:29guys and hang myself. If this works, will have at least one gun
- 23:32to fight with. You stay on the cover when we get the trap,
- 23:33rig I'll take myself out his bait on the other side. Now, as
- 23:37soon as one of them steps into the noose on the ground, release the
- 23:38vine holding the sapling. We'll have ourselves a gun and one man less to
- 23:41contend with it. Oh, I get it. The cheese go up when
- 23:45the guy goes up with him like a piece of dust, and the hooper
- 23:48vacuum there. Come on, we haven't got much time. That doesn't Mark,
- 24:02you know when to release the vines. Sure, as soon as somebody
- 24:04steps into the nose on the ground, right, we finished, just in
- 24:07time, get hidden. Let's see what is one of the seamen. I'm
- 24:12going down ahead and draw him after me. Come on, Baby and Dynasty
- 24:19if they wants, come on, come on, stupid, you're looking a
- 24:23long way. It's right, Baby stepped right anyway. Father, it's just
- 24:30a fuelty more. That's the jackpot. Now Mark, what didn't it looking
- 24:37him up? Day? It's not tell him down to pick up that gun
- 24:40with pleasure. Now we can begin someplace and hauld off. No, Now
- 24:42we can reverse tactics. I'm tired of being hunted. I came after Bellamine.
- 24:47I'm gonna get him. What's one of them is dull? I'm not
- 24:51sure. I'm a Moto maybe, or even Diego or Harrow. My mortal
- 24:55is Japanese and Diego is a Mexican, and Bellamy is an expert dialectician.
- 24:59Remember he did all right as a radio actual it's right, that's right.
- 25:03I don't forget that gunner cack that only wants killed the guy with his bare
- 25:06hands, didn't he My gun has got the biggest hands I have it,
- 25:08sir, he got that ss through when we were putting up on that reef.
- 25:11It may not be long before patrol boat gets here. I want to
- 25:15have Bellamy wrapped up by then. Hey, he comes to new question.
- 25:18Jesus, not chop another one. Race and my shooting boy. All right,
- 25:23sure, being wrong? Don't turn around? All right, put a
- 25:27flatfoot, draw the gun behind you, throw it better, do it,
- 25:32Mark, I got them, Harrold, I'm gonna let them have it right
- 25:34now. You're not gonna drop your weapon too. Don't you tell me I've
- 25:38got him. I'll kill you too. And he gets that's the end of
- 25:45the killing. Race not quality is still holding that gun. Oh very well,
- 25:49then I'll throw it away. I couldn't stand by and see murdered,
- 25:55even if he was going to make it profitable. Are you sure it was
- 25:59the prospect of murder of the change your mind? Why what do you mean,
- 26:03Race? I mean the United States Coast Guard cutter that's heading into the
- 26:06lagoon. Well, what do you know it is? Yes? Oh brother,
- 26:10look at that beautiful play. Why I didn't even see it? Excuse
- 26:15me, Race, I'm going down and throw flowers at those guys. Harold,
- 26:19What made you kill Gunna. I told you I didn't want to see
- 26:23him shoot you down in cold blood. You said he was going to make
- 26:26it profitable. What did you mean by that? As you may have guessed,
- 26:30his real name is Bellamy. He's the man you were after. What's
- 26:33your real name, Harold? I don't understand. You had Monas steer me
- 26:40to diego first. You wanted me to think that he was Bellamie, but
- 26:42you stopped Gunna from shooting me when you saw that cutter coming into the lagoon.
- 26:47Now that he's dead, you want me to think that he's Bellamy.
- 26:49But he is. I tell you he was. You ever been a radio
- 26:52actor, Harrod, I've never even listened to the thing? No? Then
- 26:56why did you refer to the storm as sound effect? And why did you
- 27:00say you have to project to be heard when you send an SOS? But
- 27:04aren't you smart enough to know radio language? When I hear it? Bellamy?
- 27:11I want to make a deal with you. That money you can bezzled,
- 27:14tell me where it is and there'll be no charges pressed. And I
- 27:18count on that absolutely. Money is an American Exchange Bank of Brazil under the
- 27:23name of Edward Harrow. Good. Now you won't have any prison term to
- 27:27serve after you're executed. Executed, You're not forgetting You just murdered, Gunner.
- 27:33Are you why? You're as good as you used to be? Right?
- 27:42What's going on? What's going on? Mister Bellamy just signed off after
- 27:45a mediocre farewell performance? Bellamy, that's Bellamy? Yes, it is well,
- 27:52Marcus. What are you looking so unhappy about? Oh no, no,
- 27:56Look look at the clouds up there. Molly cal Race had rather dead.
- 28:02It's gonna rain again. The Adventures of Frank Race starring Paul Dubove with
- 28:23Tony Barrett as Mark Donovan comes to you from Hollywood. Others heard in tonight's
- 28:27cast for Her Butterfield, Jack Crucian, Michael Ann Barrett, and Gunner Peterson.
- 28:33This series is written and directed by Buckley Angel and Joel Murcott. The
- 28:37music is composed and played by Ivan Ditmars. Be sure to be with us
- 28:41again the same time next week for another dramatic chapter in the Adventures of Frank
- 28:45Race. Arc Gilmore speaking. This is a Brucel's production. Welcome back there
- 29:26is. This was a solid episode. I missed the quality of Tom Collins
- 29:33voice, but Paul Dawov certainly very talented and capable of filling in. There
- 29:38was a lesson here. If you go after and someone who is known as
- 29:42the Man of a thousand voices able to adapt any sort of dialect, it
- 29:52might be helpful to know how tall, and other physical characteristics that might not
- 29:57be so easily changed. It seemed like they with the confusion they were out
- 30:06there and all they had to go on was he could change his voice,
- 30:10but didn't keep track of his other characteristics. Of course, the voice and
- 30:15dialect was pretty much all we could tell on radio. All right, Well,
- 30:18once again, I hope you have the best of Christmases, and we'll
- 30:22be back with you tomorrow on Christmas Day, having recorded the show earlier.
- 30:27If this were back in the golden age of radio, we would say that
- 30:30tomorrow's program was transcribed. But they're all transcribed anyway by that definition. So
- 30:36anyway, we'll see you back here tomorrow for a Life in your Hands,
- 30:40and then join us back here on Monday for another great adventure of Frank Race.
