  to town. Well, I wrote this, this letter

  I said out. I wrote warning, controversial

  commentary because I knew it'd be controversial.

  Well, to my surprise, 99.99% of the people agreed with my old

  ass. 99.99% of the people agreed with me.

  Then all of a sudden, it got bigger and better.

  Dale Earnhardt Junior chimed in. Junior said that Kenny, this is

  not a controversial take. For the last three years, I've

  been trying to get all of our asphalt races to end earlier,

  but it seems like he's swimming uphill.

  bit right there, but here's what's going on with the summer

  asphalt racing. We're losing our fans.

  Because these races are getting over 12 and 1:00 in the morning

  and they're all sleeping and they all left the grandstands.

  Kids don't even know who their heroes are anymore because while

  we try to bring in the compact series, the B mods, the

  sportsman's, the races get over 12 and one in the morning.

  The fans leave. They're gone.

  They don't even come into the pit area.

  You might have a couple people, but we're losing our dirt fans

  because they're tired and they go straight to their cars and

  they go home. It's not good guys.

  The one thing I talked about is the new poker racing.

  I've seen it before. USMTS did it down in Texas, like

  at the end of February. They used to do it.

  the pit gate now is $45.00 pit pass, the grandstands not that

  much. But we're running all these

  divisions because nobody comes to the racetrack anymore.

  And now and now it's like you're chasing your tail.

  That's what we're doing right now.

  So we are now poker racing. Hell, I'd rather pay.

  the local level because they can't get the races over the

  summer national races. You know, I go to, I've gone

  about 5 or 6 summer national races, I think the earliest one

  that ever got over, and I was proud of them.

  Benton, MO did a really good job.

  I pulled out of Benton at 10:36. I looked down, I looked at Roy

  Said holy shit, the race is over at 1036.

  Of course Duck River, they got over at some stupid midnight.

  Tommy Alfred's did a decent job down there at Hobbs, started to

  go to over 11. But the rest of them, my God,

  they just want to make that 1 lick because they can't make no

  money during a local show. So what's going on is the local

  races, they can't make no money. So when the big show comes to

  town, they can only get a lick in.
