Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: A wolf pack is not an accidental gathering of hunters.
- 0:16Speaker 2: I tend to think of myself as a one-man wolf pack.
- 0:21Speaker 2: But when my sister brought Doug home, I knew he
- 0:23Speaker 2: was one of my own. And my wolf pack, it
- 0:27Speaker 2: grew by one.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Wolfpack in the house! The date is October 1st, 2026
- 0:48Speaker 1: and you are listening to DFW's The Wolfpack. This is
- 0:54Speaker 1: episode three. Appreciate you listening and thanks to those of
- 0:57Speaker 1: you returning. I am the White Wolf, Rene DeLeon. And
- 1:01Speaker 1: I am joined by Yankee superfan, El Lobo de Juarez himself,
- 1:07Speaker 1: Manny Galvan.
- 1:08Speaker 3: What up, what up?
- 1:10Speaker 1: Yeah, for those wondering why we're doing it so late
- 1:12Speaker 1: in the week, because my man had to watch playoff
- 1:16Speaker 1: baseball and I needed him focused on this.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Not tuning in the TV like, yeah, yeah, whatever.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I was like, I actually told my wife,
- 1:24Speaker 3: I was like, if we do it on tuesday or
- 1:28Speaker 3: wednesday i'm going to like not be paying attention fully
- 1:32Speaker 3: so so yeah it worked out they swept them and
- 1:36Speaker 3: we actually actually worked out in our favor actually.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Yeah oh yeah i was worried i was like god
- 1:42Speaker 1: i hope the yankees win tonight every night tuesday i
- 1:44Speaker 1: was like i hope the yankees win just to make
- 1:48Speaker 1: sure that there's no thursday game.
- 1:50Speaker 3: Well we whooped that ass so that's good yeah Good
- 1:53Speaker 3: performances by Cam Schlittler and Max Freed and Bird. I
- 1:59Speaker 3: was thinking of Greg Bird. Never mind. That's Ben Rice.
- 2:02Speaker 3: I don't know why I thought Greg Bird.
- 2:05Speaker 1: If you would like to comment on the pod, you
- 2:07Speaker 1: can find us on our social media, at WolfpackDFW for
- 2:10Speaker 1: both Instagram and Twitter. That's at WolfpackDFW. Been getting a
- 2:14Speaker 1: lot of responses, been getting a lot of follows. It's
- 2:18Speaker 1: really good. Any feedback on Instagram?
- 2:21Speaker 4: Uh....
- 2:23Speaker 3: Well, you know, boy, Jeff Fortese has hit me up,
- 2:26Speaker 3: and he sent me a detailed message on Tuesday. Oh, right.
- 2:29Speaker 3: I guess he thought we were recording, but it was funny.
- 2:31Speaker 3: Let me read it to you real quick, because it's
- 2:34Speaker 3: funny what he said. Let's see. He sent it to
- 2:38Speaker 3: me Tuesday at 6.20. He said, good afternoon, sirs of
- 2:44Speaker 3: Sports Sesh. I wanted to get my weekly review on
- 2:47Speaker 3: before episode three. First things first, thank you for the
- 2:49Speaker 3: shout-outs to open and close the show. I played and
- 2:52Speaker 3: replayed it for my wife until she finally rolled her
- 2:55Speaker 3: eyes at me as if I thought I was famous.
- 2:58Speaker 3: He said, great episodes. The HSOs were on point. The
- 3:01Speaker 3: audio was perfect. And as always, the chemistry is Heisenberg.
- 3:06Speaker 3: He said, Shadi really screwed us. Rangers suck. Here come
- 3:10Speaker 3: the stars. And will pagebackers get us to round two?
- 3:14Speaker 1: Nice man he hit the whole yeah.
- 3:18Speaker 3: And then a couple likes from from anthony veloz he's
- 3:21Speaker 3: been on us too so pretty good.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Yeah that's really good really good stuff uh we're getting
- 3:29Speaker 1: on online the following and everything and man the the
- 3:33Speaker 1: numbers for episode two is amazing i like i i
- 3:39Speaker 1: was shocked i was like wow like we're just keep
- 3:41Speaker 1: going up and up and we keep growing and growing
- 3:43Speaker 1: and growing To the fact where I've been asked if
- 3:49Speaker 1: we want to do the pod at a tailgate. Oh, no.
- 3:53Speaker 3: With the.
- 3:55Speaker 1: The tailgate that we normally do. Somebody answer that. Yeah,
- 3:59Speaker 1: the tailgate we normally go to.
- 4:01Speaker 3: Oh, okay. Yeah, I was thinking that would be a
- 4:03Speaker 3: good one to go. It's a noon game.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a noon game. We'll get there early enough.
- 4:07Speaker 3: We'll get there super early.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Yeah. But yeah, the... It's a really good, uh, interesting
- 4:14Speaker 1: time for us, man. And we're getting going. I mean, I'm,
- 4:17Speaker 1: I heard from some of the guys from the ticket
- 4:19Speaker 1: as well. Again said, Hey, I guess, uh, they liked
- 4:22Speaker 1: episode two. They're like, well, it's better. It was sounded
- 4:24Speaker 1: better than episode one.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:28Speaker 3: So yeah.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Uh, no technical difficulties this time around.
- 4:31Speaker 3: So no, we're good.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Uh, we'll be doing a pretty sports intensive for those
- 4:38Speaker 1: of you like, um, because I know there's people, there's
- 4:41Speaker 1: some people who tell me they like, what are we watching?
- 4:43Speaker 1: They like, like, I don't know when we do that stuff,
- 4:46Speaker 1: but I've also heard from the other side that said,
- 4:49Speaker 1: Hey man, I just want to hear sports, man.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Right.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Give me the sports stuff. So this episode is going
- 4:53Speaker 1: to be for you guys. We're going to end with
- 4:55Speaker 1: hit it and quit it. We're going to talk about
- 4:57Speaker 1: the stars opening tomorrow night.
- 4:59Speaker 3: You're right.
- 5:00Speaker 1: And I also want to talk about this, uh, boxing
- 5:04Speaker 1: drama that we got going on with, uh, Dana white
- 5:07Speaker 1: involved in the fury aid, Anthony Joshua fight. It's coming
- 5:11Speaker 1: to Netflix on December. We'll talk about that. We'll also
- 5:14Speaker 1: get into the MLB playoffs. I'll bury the Rangers in
- 5:18Speaker 1: that segment before we start talking into the playoffs. We'll
- 5:21Speaker 1: also get into some college football. We have big wins
- 5:24Speaker 1: by UT, and we had some disasters going on in
- 5:29Speaker 1: College Station and in Norman. They are in crisis mode
- 5:32Speaker 1: right now. We'll talk about them, too. We'll also get
- 5:35Speaker 1: around the NFL, but we begin with.
- 5:40Speaker 1: We sending out love.
- 5:41Speaker 3: Everybody have a happy football.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Well, it wasn't very happy in Rio de Janeiro as
- 5:51Speaker 1: we had so many highs and lows.
- 5:53Speaker 4: 34-31.
- 5:53Speaker 1: The Cowboys are 1-2 now. And I got to say,
- 6:00Speaker 1: the defense at times played great. Yep. You know, the
- 6:05Speaker 1: first two series were great. Yeah. And then it just
- 6:11Speaker 1: seemed like we couldn't stop him. Then we did get
- 6:15Speaker 1: some stops. But the big thing is that who's to
- 6:21Speaker 1: blame for this 34-31 loss? As with seven seconds left,
- 6:27Speaker 1: Lamar Jackson hits the flowers to set up a game-winning
- 6:31Speaker 1: 54-yard field goal with one second left. Of course, Tyler
- 6:35Speaker 1: Loof hits it.
- 6:36Speaker 3: Right, yeah.
- 6:38Speaker 4: And.
- 6:39Speaker 1: We're done. There's so many twists and turns, man. But
- 6:43Speaker 1: I got to say, man, I think the defense did enough.
- 6:47Speaker 1: The defense did enough. They had three short yardage stops.
- 6:51Speaker 3: Right, yeah.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Two on fourth down. They stopped Derrick Henry. On a
- 6:56Speaker 1: goal line stand, too.
- 6:58Speaker 3: Yeah, and I don't think anybody has done that to him.
- 7:00Speaker 4: No.
- 7:00Speaker 3: I mean, Barham was out there.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Did you see Barham with the media people asking how
- 7:05Speaker 1: did it feel? They're like, it's just football.
- 7:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:07Speaker 1: He don't care.
- 7:07Speaker 3: It's just football. It's all business. He's like, this is
- 7:10Speaker 3: what I'm here for. That's it.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:13Speaker 3: A lot of people that I've seen on the socials,
- 7:17Speaker 3: they're talking about the coaching. And even Jerry Jones said
- 7:21Speaker 3: that there's no answer to that play call. I don't
- 7:23Speaker 3: know what they did. And it was a couple of
- 7:27Speaker 3: things also from Brandon Aubrey, too. He got that touchback
- 7:31Speaker 3: instead of like pooch kick it to give it time
- 7:34Speaker 3: to run the time. The block field goal, of course.
- 7:39Speaker 3: And also before he cooked that last field goal to
- 7:42Speaker 3: tie it. Why did they just kick it right away?
- 7:45Speaker 3: Why didn't they just run the clock down to one?
- 7:48Speaker 3: And then kick it. Maybe call a timeout or whatever,
- 7:51Speaker 3: but I think it was just all in the coaching.
- 7:53Speaker 3: That fourth down play, was it a fourth down play?
- 7:55Speaker 3: Third down play by Dak. Apparently they said they coach
- 7:58Speaker 3: him like that. That's what they said. I don't know.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:02Speaker 3: It looked bad.
- 8:02Speaker 1: It looked bad, but, I mean, you're in year 11, Dak.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Right.
- 8:07Speaker 1: I mean, sometimes.
- 8:08Speaker 3: You should be able to take control of the offense.
- 8:10Speaker 1: You should be able to take the reins and do
- 8:12Speaker 1: what you want.
- 8:13Speaker 3: Say, this is me. I'm not listening. I see what
- 8:16Speaker 3: you're saying, but just do it. Mm-hmm.
- 8:18Speaker 1: And, yeah, for me, just the inept. There's two things
- 8:24Speaker 1: for me that I was like going back after the
- 8:28Speaker 1: game was over that these two things were missed. And that's,
- 8:33Speaker 1: to me, that's the ballgame. So you said they had
- 8:37Speaker 1: the goal line stand. They stopped Derrick Henry, hit Derrick
- 8:40Speaker 1: Henry in the backfield, and you could see Derrick Henry mouthing,
- 8:46Speaker 1: And as he's sitting down on the bench, what the
- 8:49Speaker 1: fuck happened?
- 8:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:51Speaker 1: He wanted to know what happened. How did they stop him?
- 8:55Speaker 1: And then the offense puts together a drive that I
- 8:58Speaker 1: thought was, it was Gotti-like.
- 9:01Speaker 3: It was.
- 9:02Speaker 1: They go down from, what, the two-yard line? Or the fourth,
- 9:06Speaker 1: what was it, third? Because they stopped him two yards behind. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, yeah,
- 9:09Speaker 1: they were inches from the goal. So, yeah, they marched, what,
- 9:13Speaker 1: 97 yards down the field, score. Take the lead. And
- 9:18Speaker 1: I'm thinking, oh, man, this is great. And then they
- 9:23Speaker 1: get a three and out on the Ravens. They get
- 9:26Speaker 1: the ball back with five minutes, about five minutes and
- 9:28Speaker 1: change left. And I'm thinking, put it away. What do
- 9:32Speaker 1: they do? Three and out. Give the ball back to
- 9:35Speaker 1: the Ravens. The Ravens go down and score. And then
- 9:40Speaker 1: you get the ball, and you're like, okay. Dak's like, okay,
- 9:42Speaker 1: we're going. And I thought with everything. They kept driving.
- 9:45Speaker 1: They were driving. I was like, oh, man, they're going
- 9:47Speaker 1: to score. And then Schoonmaker has a dumb penalty, false start. Yeah.
- 9:53Speaker 1: We were at the two, dude, at the two. And
- 9:56Speaker 1: on second down, Schoonmaker screws up.
- 9:58Speaker 3: Yeah, that's why he's a third– if it wasn't because
- 10:04Speaker 3: Michael Trigg, I think he would have been the odd
- 10:08Speaker 3: man out, right? Yeah. So, yeah. But, no, I mean,
- 10:13Speaker 3: they had their mistakes. They could have easily won that game. Easily.
- 10:17Speaker 3: The defense actually showed that they can actually stop somebody.
- 10:21Speaker 3: And as we said before, you don't have to be average.
- 10:23Speaker 3: Just be better. Just be better than what you were.
- 10:26Speaker 1: They were driving on the drive that ended with the
- 10:29Speaker 1: Ferguson fumble.
- 10:30Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:31Speaker 1: With the Ferguson fumbles, and that kills the drive. And
- 10:34Speaker 1: they were driving on that one, too. You also had
- 10:37Speaker 1: the missed LeBlanc field goal.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:40Speaker 1: That was huge in the end, too.
- 10:41Speaker 3: Dude, Ferguson has a problem with fumbles. I read, I
- 10:45Speaker 3: think it was on X... I think it was on next.
- 10:51Speaker 3: He fumbles the ball every 18 touches. About that. Maybe
- 10:55Speaker 3: a little bit over, a little bit less, but that's crazy.
- 11:00Speaker 3: Every 18 touches, you fumble the ball. That's crazy. I
- 11:03Speaker 3: don't know. You paid him already, so I don't know
- 11:06Speaker 3: if you can... What can you do? Cut him? I
- 11:09Speaker 3: don't think you will.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Nah, he can't cut him.
- 11:11Speaker 3: But a Braven Spanford, you know, Braven Spanford to me
- 11:13Speaker 3: is a better tight end.
- 11:14Speaker 1: He's a better blocker. Ferguson has his awards, but he's
- 11:17Speaker 1: still a great receiver. He still gets you. So, yeah,
- 11:22Speaker 1: I'm not too down on that. But, I mean, they
- 11:24Speaker 1: had so many mistakes, dude.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:26Speaker 1: And, you know, the secondary was dropping like flies.
- 11:31Speaker 3: Right.
- 11:32Speaker 1: What the hell was Shoddy thinking? Yeah, let's just take
- 11:34Speaker 1: the field. Dude, I don't know. I thought to myself, man,
- 11:39Speaker 1: go win the ball game. I don't want to go
- 11:41Speaker 1: to overtime. Go win the ball game. I don't want
- 11:44Speaker 1: to do that.
- 11:45Speaker 3: If you lose, you did it because you took the
- 11:47Speaker 3: chance to win it.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Honestly, to me, I'm more pissed about you score, you
- 11:55Speaker 1: go line stand, you go 97-yard score, you give three
- 11:58Speaker 1: and out again. You stop Derrick Henry again, short yardage.
- 12:02Speaker 1: They have to punt it away in their zone. We
- 12:04Speaker 1: get it back, and I thought then and there, you
- 12:07Speaker 1: put it away. If you're Gotti, you put it away.
- 12:10Speaker 1: And I'm tired of the Gotti moniker. You can't call
- 12:13Speaker 1: yourself Gotti and then have these things.
- 12:17Speaker 3: And be one and two. Yeah. And Javante Williams looked better.
- 12:23Speaker 3: The running game looked a little better to me. I
- 12:27Speaker 3: forgot the name of the other running back that was there.
- 12:28Speaker 3: Number 32. It wasn't the Mercado. It was somebody else
- 12:31Speaker 3: that actually ran the ball pretty well. So, yeah, the
- 12:35Speaker 3: running game looked better. Seedy, obviously Seedy. I think George
- 12:39Speaker 3: Pickens got involved a little bit more, but I thought
- 12:41Speaker 3: this was going to be the George Pickens game, and
- 12:43Speaker 3: it wasn't. And again, the offense is not the problem. Yes,
- 12:47Speaker 3: you call yourself Gotti, whatever, but he's still pretty good.
- 12:52Speaker 3: I think you can hang in there.
- 12:56Speaker 1: You're talking about Tyler Goodson.
- 12:57Speaker 3: Yeah. He looked good. I was like, who's 32? Yeah.
- 13:03Speaker 3: And the offensive line looked good, man. I think they allowed...
- 13:08Speaker 3: Did that get sacked at all?
- 13:12Speaker 1: Man, let's see. Did he get sacked? I think they
- 13:18Speaker 1: got to him once. Yeah, one sack.
- 13:21Speaker 3: And you know who's looking good in that offensive line
- 13:23Speaker 3: is Tyler Guyton.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Yeah, Roquan Smith sacked him.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, yeah, I saw, yeah. Yeah, Tyler Guyton. He's
- 13:31Speaker 3: proven himself now. I think he was under fire. He's like,
- 13:34Speaker 3: is it going to be the left tackle? Are you
- 13:35Speaker 3: going to move Tyler Smith? to left tackle, that kind
- 13:37Speaker 3: of thing. And he proved himself to be the left
- 13:41Speaker 3: tackle for now. I mean, at least still. The only thing,
- 13:44Speaker 3: and I was thinking about it, especially after what happened
- 13:46Speaker 3: last night, and we'll get into that a little bit.
- 13:50Speaker 3: What's going on with Broderick Jones? Why is he not
- 13:52Speaker 3: starting over Terrence Steele? Is he still trying to ramp up?
- 13:57Speaker 3: I don't know what's going on there.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Maybe the scheme. Maybe just give him some time. I mean,
- 14:04Speaker 1: they did get him right before the season.
- 14:05Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. So that's what I'm saying.
- 14:07Speaker 3: Maybe they're trying to ramp him up, playbook a little
- 14:09Speaker 3: bit more, you know, pick up blitzes.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Protection, all the calls, yeah.
- 14:14Speaker 3: So at this point, I think I'm ready for him
- 14:17Speaker 3: to start.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Well, it kind of looked good with him in.
- 14:23Speaker 3: Yeah, well.
- 14:24Speaker 1: What he played.
- 14:24Speaker 3: Yeah, but how long is that going to last?
- 14:27Speaker 1: I don't know what we'll see, man.
- 14:30Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Yeah, but the Gotti moniker, I'm just tired of it already.
- 14:35Speaker 1: I'm just tired of it. I mean, you only had
- 14:39Speaker 1: two possessions in the second half of the first game.
- 14:44Speaker 1: And then this one, dude, you're driving. George had a
- 14:49Speaker 1: drop again here and there. He played great, but he
- 14:52Speaker 1: had a drop. He had a crucial drop. I'm like, crap.
- 14:56Speaker 1: It's just, I mean, like I said, if you were Gotti,
- 15:00Speaker 1: If you're the greatest offense there is, and you get
- 15:04Speaker 1: the ball back, and you're up, and you have five
- 15:08Speaker 1: minutes to kill, you can't go three and out.
- 15:10Speaker 4: Right.
- 15:11Speaker 1: You just can't. You need to kill it right there.
- 15:14Speaker 1: Go down, drive, score again, put the game away.
- 15:17Speaker 3: Yeah. I mean, again, I think the defense did look better.
- 15:21Speaker 3: They still messed up. I think it was on the
- 15:25Speaker 3: coaching to me. I'll put it on the coaching.
- 15:28Speaker 4: Mm-hmm.
- 15:29Speaker 3: How are you feeling about Christian Parker, though? Because of
- 15:31Speaker 3: the hype. That was crazy. The hype before the season started.
- 15:36Speaker 3: He's going to do this. He's going to do that.
- 15:37Speaker 3: He's going to bring in this. I feel like some
- 15:39Speaker 3: people are kind of backing down on that claim. Is
- 15:45Speaker 3: it because of the rookies that he has to play?
- 15:48Speaker 3: Especially because, like I said last week, your two best
- 15:51Speaker 3: players is Jason Barham and Caleb Downs.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Jason Barham. Dude, they finally, after years... Van Der Esch.
- 16:01Speaker 3: He would have been great.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Jalen Smith. They finally found a Bobby Wagner, Fred Warner type.
- 16:09Speaker 1: And Jay Sean Barham. They finally did it. They finally
- 16:12Speaker 1: hit on him. And they didn't have to spend a
- 16:14Speaker 1: top pick on him.
- 16:15Speaker 3: Yeah, and I think.
- 16:18Speaker 1: A day one pick.
- 16:19Speaker 3: Obviously, it depends on health.
- 16:20Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 16:21Speaker 3: It's going to depend on his health. He wasn't a
- 16:24Speaker 3: day one pick.
- 16:25Speaker 1: No, no, that's what I'm saying. He wasn't a day
- 16:27Speaker 1: one pick. The other two, well, when Jalen Smith was drafted,
- 16:31Speaker 1: I believe, they were still doing the second round of
- 16:33Speaker 1: the day one. Yeah, yeah. And Vander Esch was the
- 16:37Speaker 1: first round pick. But they finally hit on a linebacker.
- 16:40Speaker 3: They did, which is nice. And, you know, they drafted
- 16:43Speaker 3: Shamar James at some point. You know, you've been getting
- 16:46Speaker 3: from Eric Kendricks, bringing him in, bringing the veterans, Kenneth Murray, Logan.
- 16:55Speaker 3: Logan Wilson, last year, they looked like crap. So, yes,
- 16:59Speaker 3: it feels nice to see somebody back there that can
- 17:01Speaker 3: actually shoot the gap, you know, take home blockers. Because
- 17:06Speaker 3: there was one, the one with... When he tackled Derrick Henry,
- 17:10Speaker 3: he shed that block, that running back, just with the shoulder,
- 17:13Speaker 3: swam underneath him, and then got to Derrick Henry.
- 17:15Speaker 1: The goal line stand, he got right past that guard.
- 17:19Speaker 3: That guy, he's all business. He's all about football, and
- 17:24Speaker 3: I think we've been needing that. Somebody that doesn't care
- 17:27Speaker 3: about the outside.
- 17:28Speaker 1: You go back and look at that. Derrick Henry was shocked.
- 17:31Speaker 1: He was sitting on the bench like, what happened? How
- 17:35Speaker 1: did it happen? I just, I barely got the ball
- 17:37Speaker 1: and got nailed. Yeah.
- 17:39Speaker 2: Yep.
- 17:39Speaker 1: And he was like, and then he couldn't stop it.
- 17:41Speaker 1: He was like, he just took them on and dropped
- 17:45Speaker 1: them right there. They stuffed. Dude, I was at a
- 17:47Speaker 1: restaurant watching. I jumped up like, oh my God, that
- 17:50Speaker 1: was incredible. I couldn't believe they stuffed them.
- 17:52Speaker 3: It was, you know, he's not busy trying to make sunglasses,
- 17:56Speaker 3: clear-eyed views type thing. So, I've been saying from the
- 18:01Speaker 3: offseason up until now, And I don't even know if
- 18:05Speaker 3: she even called the poor man Arvill Rees. I think
- 18:09Speaker 3: he might be there because I really haven't heard anything
- 18:11Speaker 3: about Arvill Rees. He might be better than Arvill Rees.
- 18:16Speaker 3: I haven't seen any like, oh, yeah, Arvill Rees is
- 18:18Speaker 3: doing this or even on PFF, which PFF is subjective.
- 18:22Speaker 3: But any of the top rookies in the league so far,
- 18:25Speaker 3: I really haven't seen Arvill Rees out there and making
- 18:28Speaker 3: an impact just like Jason Barham has been making. And again,
- 18:32Speaker 3: and also Caleb Downs, dude. Caleb Downs is holding his own.
- 18:36Speaker 3: He's the guy that everybody thought he was going to be.
- 18:41Speaker 3: I thought he was going to play a little bit
- 18:42Speaker 3: more safety just because B.J. Locke and Malik Hooker are
- 18:45Speaker 3: being hurt. But those two rookies right there are playing
- 18:52Speaker 3: how they're supposed to be playing. I don't think you
- 18:55Speaker 3: expected Jason Barham to be what he is.
- 18:57Speaker 5: I don't think anybody did. That's a fine, dude. I
- 19:03Speaker 5: think what helps him a lot, too, is that he
- 19:04Speaker 5: also played defensive line. He rushed a passer at Michigan.
- 19:08Speaker 3: So he has the experience that he can take on blocks.
- 19:13Speaker 3: I love that about him. Yeah.
- 19:15Speaker 1: And he knows how to shed them. But, yeah, the
- 19:19Speaker 1: fact– I don't know who from the Cowboys scouting system
- 19:23Speaker 1: saw him. Maybe it was Will McClay and said, we
- 19:26Speaker 1: can use him in middle linebacker.
- 19:27Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:28Speaker 1: I don't know who had that idea. But whoever did–
- 19:32Speaker 1: They deserve a raise. They found a guy.
- 19:35Speaker 3: Because we have that Michigan, that PTSD from Michigan players
- 19:41Speaker 3: coming in and shitting the bed and not being what
- 19:45Speaker 3: they are. I mean, look at Mousy Smith. He's been,
- 19:48Speaker 3: I think he got cut from the Jets. So, and
- 19:52Speaker 3: Taco Charlton, I don't even know where he is now.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Oh, he's not in the league. He might be in
- 19:57Speaker 1: the UFL.
- 19:58Speaker 3: He might be.
- 19:59Speaker 1: He might be. I think I remember hearing something like
- 20:02Speaker 1: he might be in the UFL.
- 20:03Speaker 3: Yeah. So, but he's proven us all wrong. And I'm
- 20:08Speaker 3: glad we have the linebacker for the future.
- 20:10Speaker 1: All right, let's get to the trade now before we
- 20:13Speaker 1: get into week four. Joey Porter Jr. last night, I
- 20:18Speaker 1: was so glad. I was like, well, I'm glad we're
- 20:21Speaker 1: waiting a day to record this podcast because we had
- 20:23Speaker 1: big breaking news last night that Joey Porter, you know
- 20:27Speaker 1: what's funny? I got the news first from Underdog, the
- 20:33Speaker 1: sports betting app. That's why I texted you because it
- 20:39Speaker 1: popped up and it said, Joey Porter to the Cowboys
- 20:43Speaker 1: on underdog like what so I started going online and
- 20:46Speaker 1: looking and Schefter didn't have it no Adam Schefter didn't
- 20:49Speaker 1: have it but Tom Parasello of the NFL Network he
- 20:53Speaker 1: had it first and then I believe George Schultz and
- 20:55Speaker 1: then I saw Calvin Watkins tweet about it Tard Archer
- 21:00Speaker 1: And so the trade details, I've just seen it's a
- 21:03Speaker 1: sixth this year. I don't see anything about conditional. Just
- 21:06Speaker 1: a sixth in 27 draft and a second in the
- 21:10Speaker 1: 2028 draft.
- 21:11Speaker 3: Actually, I thought I saw the actual condition. And let
- 21:15Speaker 3: me see. Because that's the only condition that people were like, oh, really?
- 21:19Speaker 3: That's it? Let me see if I can find it.
- 21:24Speaker 3: So Todd Archer said, there's a condition on the 2027
- 21:27Speaker 3: sixth round draft. The Steelers will receive it from the
- 21:31Speaker 3: Cowboys on this trade. It's important it needs to be
- 21:33Speaker 3: on the game day roster for two games for the
- 21:35Speaker 3: pick to go through. Okay.
- 21:39Speaker 1: So they're basically getting the six-pound pick.
- 21:43Speaker 3: Theoretically, that could be the next Thursday because if he
- 21:46Speaker 3: plays this Sunday, which is heading that way, it looks
- 21:48Speaker 3: like he might play this Sunday. And then we have
- 21:52Speaker 3: a short weekend. I play the Bucs on Thursday.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Boy, that back healed pretty quickly, don't you think?
- 21:56Speaker 3: Oh, we're a miracle. We're a miracle.
- 21:58Speaker 1: We're finally on the other side of a back injury
- 22:01Speaker 1: like with Mike.
- 22:02Speaker 3: Yeah, that was great. But, yeah, it was crazy because
- 22:05Speaker 3: I had just finished watching the Yankees game, and I'm like,
- 22:08Speaker 3: I'm on Twitter, but all I'm seeing is Yankees, Yankees,
- 22:10Speaker 3: Yankees stuff. And then you texted me, so I had
- 22:12Speaker 3: to refresh it like three or four times for it
- 22:14Speaker 3: to actually.
- 22:15Speaker 1: Yeah, dude, it's crazy. Like, I got it from Underdog,
- 22:18Speaker 1: and I was like, Why am I getting it from
- 22:21Speaker 1: underdog first? So I had to go online and start looking.
- 22:23Speaker 1: And then, yeah, I saw everybody talking about it. I
- 22:25Speaker 1: was like, oh, man.
- 22:26Speaker 3: Now, the thing is with Joey Porter, I feel like
- 22:30Speaker 3: a lot of people... I saw a lot of people saying,
- 22:33Speaker 3: why do we trade for him if he doesn't fit
- 22:35Speaker 3: the scheme? He's better playing man, which... Christian Parker plays...
- 22:41Speaker 3: He plays on about 80% of the time. Does he
- 22:43Speaker 3: fit the scheme? What is he going to do? And
- 22:46Speaker 3: to me, I was like, dude, just... He's a... He's
- 22:50Speaker 3: a top, one of the top cornerbacks in the league.
- 22:54Speaker 3: And if he can shut down, especially next week, well,
- 22:57Speaker 3: this Sunday, Nico Collins. He has shut him down before.
- 23:00Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:00Speaker 3: He has shut him down before with Pittsburgh.
- 23:02Speaker 1: Well, Nico Collins is not playing. He's hurt.
- 23:05Speaker 3: That's what they're saying right now. Apparently, he's heading into
- 23:07Speaker 3: actually playing.
- 23:09Speaker 1: Well, I mean, I wouldn't be surprised by that because
- 23:13Speaker 1: they can't start on four. Yeah.
- 23:16Speaker 3: Yeah, but, yeah, Joe Porter for his career has got...
- 23:18Speaker 3: 120 tackles, solo, 45.
- 23:21Speaker 1: He only has three interceptions.
- 23:22Speaker 3: Three interceptions.
- 23:24Speaker 1: But, you know.
- 23:25Speaker 3: One sack.
- 23:26Speaker 1: As we've seen, guys who get the ball like Trayvon
- 23:31Speaker 1: Diggs also give up a lot of big plays. I
- 23:33Speaker 1: don't think he gives. His PFF is very good. Now,
- 23:36Speaker 1: he does get some penalties, but what cornerback doesn't these days?
- 23:41Speaker 3: So there was a half year. He's doing a 22-5 season.
- 23:44Speaker 3: He held out a 55.9 rating, passer rating. when targeting
- 23:49Speaker 3: as a primary defender. That was the third lowest among
- 23:53Speaker 3: qualified NFL cornerbacks. That's great. Touchdown lockdown. He hasn't loaded
- 23:59Speaker 3: a regular season touchdown since week eight of the 23-3 season.
- 24:05Speaker 3: So he's locked down.
- 24:08Speaker 1: So is it Porter and Deron Bland when everything's good
- 24:13Speaker 1: to go? Is that going to be the two guys?
- 24:16Speaker 3: Yeah, because Rebels hurt, right? He got hurt.
- 24:19Speaker 1: Kobe Durant.
- 24:20Speaker 3: Kobe Durant is going to be, he's still got a
- 24:22Speaker 3: couple more weeks. I think he'll play. Maybe not. I
- 24:27Speaker 3: don't know if he'll play against the Bucs, though. So
- 24:31Speaker 3: we'll see. But yeah, I'm happy with the trade, dude.
- 24:36Speaker 3: And I don't think Jerry Jones is done.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe not. I mean, you know what that line is?
- 24:43Speaker 1: What did he say last week? Old man with money.
- 24:46Speaker 3: There's nothing more dangerous than the old man with money.
- 24:50Speaker 3: I don't know. I mean, right now, you're still keeping
- 24:53Speaker 3: your prime picks in 2026. So I'm good with that.
- 24:56Speaker 3: Are you willing to give up one? I don't know.
- 24:58Speaker 3: I mean, 2027.
- 25:01Speaker 1: For the pass rusher? It depends on what pass rusher
- 25:03Speaker 1: you get. It's got to be a pass rusher.
- 25:04Speaker 3: It's got to be a premium one.
- 25:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:06Speaker 3: And with the Raiders being 3-0 right now, who knows
- 25:09Speaker 3: if they're going to give up Max.
- 25:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:14Speaker 3: So it's going to be interesting to see what happens
- 25:17Speaker 3: here in the next few weeks to see where they
- 25:19Speaker 3: get that pass rush from. Because they're struggling.
- 25:23Speaker 1: Yeah, there was no sacks again. I know it's Lamar Jackson,
- 25:26Speaker 1: but there was plenty of times where I'm like, he's
- 25:28Speaker 1: right there. You're right there with him, and he just
- 25:31Speaker 1: got away.
- 25:33Speaker 3: Yeah, and I feel like right now, Rashawn Gary is
- 25:36Speaker 3: getting a lot of crap. Like, where are you? Where
- 25:38Speaker 3: is this? What is that? What is this? But I
- 25:40Speaker 3: think the people are... And I saw this on, I
- 25:43Speaker 3: think it was on Instagram. I saw somebody had the,
- 25:47Speaker 3: I forgot who it was that had the breakdown. And
- 25:48Speaker 3: then they go away from him. People, the team tend
- 25:52Speaker 3: to go away from Rashawn Gary. So, and another thing
- 25:56Speaker 3: that's kind of bothered me a little bit is Von Miller.
- 25:59Speaker 3: Obviously Von Miller hasn't been.
- 26:02Speaker 1: Von Miller is still on this team because I haven't
- 26:04Speaker 1: noticed him.
- 26:05Speaker 3: But with that said, I'm glad you said that because
- 26:09Speaker 3: we made that point. We made that point on the
- 26:12Speaker 3: ticket when we were on one of our shows. They said,
- 26:15Speaker 3: we didn't bring him to be the guy.
- 26:18Speaker 1: The guy, yeah.
- 26:19Speaker 3: We know what he's bringing to the table. We know
- 26:21Speaker 3: where we got him from. We brought him from being
- 26:24Speaker 3: a veteran, experience, and teaching guys and that kind of thing.
- 26:28Speaker 3: But I feel like they're playing him more and more,
- 26:30Speaker 3: and they're taking away snaps from Malachi Lawrence.
- 26:35Speaker 1: Here's my thing, though. Yeah, we didn't bring him to
- 26:39Speaker 1: be the guy. But we expected him to chip in.
- 26:41Speaker 1: He hasn't gotten a sack yet. We were about to
- 26:44Speaker 1: get week four, and he hasn't gotten a sack yet.
- 26:46Speaker 3: I mean, he did say he could jump off his
- 26:48Speaker 3: pajamas and get eight sacks.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Eight sacks out of it. Well, he better start getting
- 26:51Speaker 1: something right away because it looks like he's taking a
- 26:55Speaker 1: snooze right now.
- 26:56Speaker 3: One thing that did hurt was Jonathan Bullard going down
- 26:59Speaker 3: because he's been money right up the middle. Jonathan Bullard
- 27:02Speaker 3: can play, man, and I'm glad we made that play.
- 27:05Speaker 3: I also think that Williams looked better. I think the front,
- 27:09Speaker 3: him and Kenny Clark look better right there. So, yeah,
- 27:13Speaker 3: but you definitely, I think, this is not going to
- 27:15Speaker 3: fix the defense. I'm not saying that George Porter is
- 27:17Speaker 3: going to come over here and take us to the
- 27:18Speaker 3: Super Bowl and do that kind of thing, but they
- 27:20Speaker 3: still need that pass rush that is necessary to win
- 27:25Speaker 3: in this league. I don't think you can win without
- 27:27Speaker 3: rushing the passer and getting sacks. That's just the truth
- 27:30Speaker 3: to me.
- 27:32Speaker 1: How are you feeling about Sunday? against the texans.
- 27:38Speaker 3: Well well i think right now with uh because.
- 27:41Speaker 1: I think the texans are going to give you all
- 27:43Speaker 1: they got because they don't want to start on four.
- 27:45Speaker 3: They're often sucks i'm not worried about that i'm more
- 27:47Speaker 3: i was worrying more about the the defense but a
- 27:49Speaker 3: defense i mean i'll show you.
- 27:51Speaker 1: Yeah but i mean we also thought that last year
- 27:54Speaker 1: and then we saw jj mccarthy russell wilson uh what's
- 27:59Speaker 1: his name brissette we we saw a bunch of them
- 28:02Speaker 1: just look like all pro quarterbacks.
- 28:05Speaker 3: Well, the Cardinals, Cardinals are the Cardinals and you know,
- 28:07Speaker 3: they got our number. I'm not going to like Russell Wilson.
- 28:09Speaker 2: Yes.
- 28:09Speaker 3: He scored all those points. We won in the end.
- 28:13Speaker 3: And I mean, that doesn't, that doesn't prove my point
- 28:15Speaker 3: because they still score like 40 something points. So, yeah,
- 28:20Speaker 3: but you got to remember last year's defense was not
- 28:22Speaker 3: this defense. And I mean, this defense is looking like
- 28:24Speaker 3: last year's defense.
- 28:25Speaker 1: Well, Jackson Dart looked like an all pro week one. Yeah.
- 28:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:28Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. I'm like, I mean, uh, They
- 28:33Speaker 1: got lucky. Jayden Daniels got hurt. I mean, hell, I
- 28:38Speaker 1: don't know. Mariota put up some points on the Seahawks.
- 28:41Speaker 3: Are we in Houston or are we here?
- 28:43Speaker 1: No, it's in Houston.
- 28:44Speaker 3: Okay.
- 28:44Speaker 1: It's in Houston. It's a road game, yeah.
- 28:47Speaker 3: No, I still... And I think I've been saying this
- 28:51Speaker 3: since week one, but I think the Cowboys win this one.
- 28:53Speaker 3: I think the defense plays better. I'm not worried about
- 28:57Speaker 3: their offense, to be honest. But they do have the...
- 29:02Speaker 3: the favorite right now to win defensive player of the year,
- 29:04Speaker 3: which is Will Anderson. So Tyler Guyton is going to
- 29:07Speaker 3: have his hands full.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it's a must-win for both teams. I
- 29:13Speaker 1: don't think the Cowboys want to come back here 1-3.
- 29:15Speaker 3: No, you do not want to go 1-3 and we
- 29:17Speaker 3: play the Bucs, which is without Baker Mayfield. Baker, yeah.
- 29:22Speaker 1: But still, I think putting you 1-3, it puts you
- 29:27Speaker 1: behind the A ball on making the playoffs, even winning
- 29:29Speaker 1: the division, even though the division's kind of low I
- 29:33Speaker 1: mean the Eagles just lost last week as well Washington
- 29:38Speaker 1: won the Giants lost got a victory. We're one and two.
- 29:44Speaker 1: We're one game behind everybody. We're one game behind the
- 29:49Speaker 1: Eagles and the Giants. It's a must win for me.
- 29:59Speaker 1: You got to win.
- 30:00Speaker 3: Yeah, you definitely have to win.
- 30:03Speaker 1: But Houston's going to come out because they need to win.
- 30:06Speaker 1: They can't go 0-4 basically kills their season. Pretty much, yeah.
- 30:11Speaker 1: And they probably start looking at the draft seeing if
- 30:14Speaker 1: they can unload some contracts.
- 30:17Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe. I mean, we got on the division, we
- 30:20Speaker 3: got commanders. The Colts are the commanders. They beat Seattle. Yeah.
- 30:24Speaker 3: If I'm a.
- 30:28Speaker 1: If I'm C.J. Stratton, I need to start playing well
- 30:30Speaker 1: because if they get a top pick, they're probably going
- 30:33Speaker 1: after Dante Moore, especially with his contract coming up.
- 30:37Speaker 3: Dante Moore, Mensah. Yeah. Who's that? Chambliss. Mm-hmm.
- 30:43Speaker 5: So.
- 30:44Speaker 1: Maybe Arch.
- 30:45Speaker 3: Maybe Arch, yeah. But, you know, right now the defensive Colts,
- 30:49Speaker 3: I think the Colts are the Colts. I don't think
- 30:51Speaker 3: they were fake last year. We have the Cardinals and Giants.
- 30:56Speaker 3: I don't know who's going to win on that, and
- 30:58Speaker 3: the Rams play the Eagles.
- 31:00Speaker 1: What do you think? What do you predict?
- 31:05Speaker 3: I think they're still going to score points. I think
- 31:08Speaker 3: they'll probably win. Give me 30-17, Cowboys.
- 31:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it's going to be a tough battle
- 31:20Speaker 1: from the very beginning. I think Texans are going to
- 31:21Speaker 1: give you all they got. Their defense is going to
- 31:23Speaker 1: try to hold, but I do think We need it
- 31:27Speaker 1: more than they do. I think they are what they are.
- 31:31Speaker 1: I think C.J. Stroud is not a good quarterback. He
- 31:34Speaker 1: had a rookie year, and then he was just content
- 31:36Speaker 1: with that. I don't think he puts in the work
- 31:39Speaker 1: like everybody else. I think they're going to go home four.
- 31:42Speaker 1: I think they're one of the biggest disappointments. And all
- 31:45Speaker 1: of football. Yeah, I do not expect.
- 31:47Speaker 3: And D'Amico Ryans also had a mistake like Shoddy did
- 31:51Speaker 3: in the last game. When he saved that timeout that
- 31:55Speaker 3: he had in his pocket and he didn't call it.
- 31:57Speaker 1: He didn't call it, yeah.
- 31:57Speaker 3: So, yeah, we'll see. What do you think?
- 32:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I got Cowboys winning. I think they'll, I'm going
- 32:08Speaker 1: to say, I'm going to say 28-20.
- 32:11Speaker 4: 28-20.
- 32:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:12Speaker 1: Cowboys. I think they'll do just enough and i think
- 32:17Speaker 1: they'll actually have a head start and the texans are
- 32:19Speaker 1: going to be trying to catch.
- 32:20Speaker 3: Up yeah uh you know and i just want to
- 32:23Speaker 3: go back a little bit you know who's worrying me
- 32:24Speaker 3: a little bit right now is uh brandon aubrey he
- 32:27Speaker 3: still kicks it from far away but man he's missed
- 32:30Speaker 3: a couple field goals here and there and got one
- 32:32Speaker 3: blocked i don't think that was that was his uh
- 32:35Speaker 3: that was on him but Yeah, we've got to see.
- 32:39Speaker 3: We've got to get it together, man. I think they'll
- 32:40Speaker 3: get it together this game and come back home against
- 32:44Speaker 3: the Bucs on Thursday Night Football. And they win two
- 32:48Speaker 3: in a row.

- 33:53Speaker 1: they pounded the Packers.
- 33:54Speaker 3: They did.
- 33:54Speaker 1: What the hell is going on in Green Bay?
- 33:56Speaker 3: That was nice to see.
- 33:58Speaker 1: What is going on in Green Bay, man?
- 34:00Speaker 3: Dude.
- 34:02Speaker 1: How funny was it, Micah, trying to rally the troops
- 34:05Speaker 1: and nobody's paying attention?
- 34:06Speaker 3: Nobody was listening. Dude, I thought that was AI. I
- 34:08Speaker 3: thought somebody posted the video. They removed the person that
- 34:11Speaker 3: he was talking to. And you just put him talking
- 34:15Speaker 3: to nobody. Nobody, literally nobody. He was just there like,
- 34:18Speaker 3: with that stage by him. He was like, let me
- 34:21Speaker 3: do something. Pretend like I'm doing it. I don't know, dude,
- 34:25Speaker 3: but that was good to see.
- 34:26Speaker 1: So what pick is the Jets going to get? Are
- 34:28Speaker 1: they going to get ours, or are they going to
- 34:29Speaker 1: get the Packers?
- 34:30Speaker 3: Oh, no, they're going to get it. Oh, yeah. Yeah,
- 34:33Speaker 3: because they get the higher one, right?
- 34:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:36Speaker 3: No, they'll get the Packers. They'll get the Packers.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Man, what is going on? I had them picked at
- 34:41Speaker 1: least to make the wild card, and, man, they don't
- 34:44Speaker 1: look like it right now. They look lost.
- 34:46Speaker 3: I thought they might win that division, but... But we'll see.
- 34:51Speaker 3: Speaking of Micah, do you think he'll make it for
- 34:53Speaker 3: week six and play against us just because it's us?
- 34:57Speaker 1: Probably.
- 34:58Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 34:58Speaker 1: Because he has to. He has to because everybody's saying that, look, man,
- 35:02Speaker 1: look at what they've done since they've got rid of Micah.
- 35:04Speaker 1: They got Kenny Clark. They got Ken Williams. They got
- 35:08Speaker 1: Joey Porter. And they're all with picks from him. They
- 35:11Speaker 1: got basically from him.
- 35:14Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 35:14Speaker 3: So, I mean, yeah, they look bad. And like I said,
- 35:18Speaker 3: I really enjoyed watching that. I really enjoyed watching the
- 35:21Speaker 3: Packers get demolished like they did.
- 35:24Speaker 1: So we said Washington beat Seattle in a shootout. The
- 35:29Speaker 1: Eagles got dominated by the Bears with Case Keenum.
- 35:32Speaker 3: They did.
- 35:32Speaker 1: Case Keenum, a guy who hasn't started in, what, three years?
- 35:35Speaker 3: He just came out of nowhere and just.
- 35:37Speaker 1: Dude, it looked like that offense didn't miss a beat.
- 35:39Speaker 1: Maybe Ben Johnson is some kind of offensive wizard. He
- 35:43Speaker 1: can just put anybody back up. They look good.
- 35:45Speaker 3: That was a good one.
- 35:46Speaker 1: So that was the first time in his offense... He
- 35:50Speaker 1: did not have a 1-1, a quarterback that was the
- 35:53Speaker 1: first pick overall in the draft. That was the first
- 35:57Speaker 1: time because he had Jared Goff in Detroit, and he
- 36:00Speaker 1: has Caleb Williams here. So this was the first time
- 36:02Speaker 1: that he has not had that, and maybe it doesn't matter.
- 36:05Speaker 1: People are like, oh, we'll see what happens when he
- 36:08Speaker 1: doesn't have the 1-1. It doesn't look like it doesn't matter.
- 36:11Speaker 3: That's what good coaches do, and I think that's why
- 36:13Speaker 3: he was a hot commodity when he was after that
- 36:16Speaker 3: Detroit season. And Ben Johnson was the guy. Him and
- 36:21Speaker 3: Glenn from Jets, which, I mean, they haven't worked out
- 36:23Speaker 3: for him, but... But yeah, that's... Yeah.
- 36:28Speaker 1: Giants made a trade. They beat the Titans, but it
- 36:31Speaker 1: was the Titans. I mean, that game wasn't very good.
- 36:34Speaker 1: It was really bad, but they made a trade for J.J. McCarthy.
- 36:39Speaker 1: And the first thing I thought about was like, okay,
- 36:42Speaker 1: they made the trade for J.J. McCarthy because Jackson darts
- 36:44Speaker 1: out for the year. But man, he goes... The Vikings
- 36:49Speaker 1: gave up on J.J. McCarthy basically after one year.
- 36:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:52Speaker 1: Because he got hurt that first, his rookie year. And,
- 36:55Speaker 1: you know, they went with Darnold. And everybody was like, man,
- 37:00Speaker 1: they should keep Darnold. And they didn't. They went with McCarthy.
- 37:04Speaker 1: McCarthy played well against us. That was basically his only game.
- 37:08Speaker 1: He played really well.
- 37:09Speaker 3: It feels like everybody... Plays their best against us. Not
- 37:13Speaker 3: because we were bad, but because.
- 37:15Speaker 1: This is their Super Bowl.
- 37:17Speaker 3: This is their Super Bowl. This is like, I got
- 37:20Speaker 3: to beat the Cowboys. If my career sucks, whatever, I
- 37:23Speaker 3: got to beat the Cowboys at least. I mean, Jacoby Brissett,
- 37:26Speaker 3: that's his highlight of his career probably.
- 37:29Speaker 1: I mean, I get the Kyler Murray, Josh Rosen when
- 37:33Speaker 1: that happened. But this, you don't even have a guy
- 37:37Speaker 1: to replace him with. It's just Kyler Murray and Carson Wentz.
- 37:41Speaker 3: And Carson Wentz is starting on Sunday, right?
- 37:43Speaker 1: They're 3-0, yeah. Minnesota, along with San Francisco, Buffalo, Kansas City. But, yeah,
- 37:50Speaker 1: you mentioned it earlier. Las Vegas is 3-0.
- 37:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:54Speaker 1: And they beat the Saints, and they beat them. They did. Yeah,
- 37:56Speaker 1: and the Saints looked good. I mean, the Saints have
- 37:58Speaker 1: beaten the Ravens.
- 38:00Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 38:01Speaker 1: The Saints have been looking good. They lost an overtime
- 38:03Speaker 1: battle with the Lions. Yeah.
- 38:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 38:07Speaker 3: But just real quick on the Giants-Titans. Also, I think
- 38:10Speaker 3: another quarterback's kind of That kind of feels like he's
- 38:12Speaker 3: in the hot seat. It's Cam Ward. I mean, do
- 38:15Speaker 3: they give up on Cam Ward already? Is he a buzz?
- 38:18Speaker 3: Is it Brian Dayball going out there?
- 38:21Speaker 1: Man, I did not like that draft whatsoever for quarterbacks.
- 38:24Speaker 1: I don't like any of them.
- 38:25Speaker 3: I don't think there was any.
- 38:27Speaker 1: Cam Ward was the one-one, and then we had Shador.
- 38:32Speaker 3: I mean, at this point now, it looks like he
- 38:35Speaker 3: is a fifth-round quarterback.
- 38:37Speaker 1: I mean, the best one looks like the Saints quarterback.
- 38:39Speaker 3: Yeah, Tyler Shaw.
- 38:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 38:41Speaker 1: He looks like the best one out of those three, man. Yeah,
- 38:45Speaker 1: the Raiders, man. I'm like, holy crap. They keep winning.
- 38:50Speaker 1: They're 3-0.
- 38:51Speaker 3: I feel like it's the Kirk Cousins effect. I feel
- 38:54Speaker 3: like other than Atlanta, I think everywhere he's gone, he's
- 38:57Speaker 3: somewhat been somewhat of a winner.
- 39:00Speaker 1: He wins for a while, and then after a while,
- 39:03Speaker 1: he catches up.
- 39:03Speaker 3: With Washington, it was Kirk or Bangs or whatever they
- 39:06Speaker 3: used to call him, and kirko chains and all that
- 39:09Speaker 3: kind of thing so they had a little bit of
- 39:11Speaker 3: a hype there.
- 39:11Speaker 1: But well we'll see this weekend.
- 39:14Speaker 3: I mean we'll see who cools chiefs raiders dude i
- 39:17Speaker 3: wouldn't be.
- 39:17Speaker 1: That's a cbs game the 325 game.
- 39:19Speaker 3: And the chiefs are what three and oh right.
- 39:22Speaker 1: Yeah so this is for the top.
- 39:25Speaker 3: Spot to bet on that one and lost and the
- 39:28Speaker 3: chiefs lost for some reason i feel like getting this
- 39:30Speaker 3: is going to happen.
- 39:31Speaker 1: If the Raiders win, I'm like, okay, forget about Max Crosby.
- 39:35Speaker 1: They've already got four wins. Yeah. They're probably going to
- 39:37Speaker 1: get four or five more somewhere else.
- 39:39Speaker 3: And Mendoza's going to have to sit. It's like, dude,
- 39:41Speaker 3: we're right in the hot hand right now.
- 39:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 39:43Speaker 3: Your time will come.
- 39:44Speaker 1: I think that's good for Mendoza. He can go sell
- 39:47Speaker 1: finance commercials. Did you see that?
- 39:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 39:50Speaker 3: That's hilarious.
- 39:52Speaker 1: USA Bank.
- 39:52Speaker 3: Yeah. Contact Jimmy Garoppolo. He'll get you a lifetime supply,
- 39:58Speaker 3: a lifetime entrance to the, what do you call it?
- 40:05Speaker 3: What was it? The whorehouse?
- 40:06Speaker 1: Oh, the bunny ranch. Yeah.
- 40:10Speaker 3: Talk to him. He'll get you that. Maybe he'll get
- 40:12Speaker 3: you a date with Rami Reign.
- 40:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 40:13Speaker 1: Let's see. Let's get to some college football now as
- 40:18Speaker 1: we went out together. We saw The Texas Longhorns battled
- 40:22Speaker 1: the Tennessee Volunteers. One versus 15 at the time, or
- 40:27Speaker 1: was it 14 at the time? I think it was 15.
- 40:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it was 15.
- 40:31Speaker 1: Yeah. And Longhorns emerged victorious. There was some couple things that,
- 40:37Speaker 1: I mean, the whole onside kick, which I still say
- 40:42Speaker 1: Wingo should have had, but it turned out to be illegal. Yeah.
- 40:46Speaker 1: Because the guy wasn't at the 35. He was way
- 40:47Speaker 1: behind the 35.
- 40:48Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 40:50Speaker 1: And, dude, how did they miss that? If we had
- 40:55Speaker 1: lost because of that, are they overturning it?
- 40:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, yeah. That was the same question I
- 41:00Speaker 3: had as soon as they came out. But I think
- 41:02Speaker 3: during the game, didn't they throw a flag? They threw
- 41:05Speaker 3: a flag.
- 41:05Speaker 1: They threw a flag, and then they picked it up.
- 41:07Speaker 3: They picked it up and said, no, there was no penalty.
- 41:09Speaker 1: I'm like, what? And Steve Sarkeesian was like, yeah, there's
- 41:11Speaker 1: something there. He was like, don't worry about it. Then
- 41:13Speaker 1: he was like, what? How are you going to pick
- 41:14Speaker 1: up the flag? Colin Simmons had a historic day, 5.5 sacks.
- 41:21Speaker 1: He also pissed on a quarterback. Man, okay, I get it.
- 41:27Speaker 1: Did you see Irvin Meyer say, I would have benched him?
- 41:30Speaker 3: You would not.
- 41:31Speaker 4: You?
- 41:31Speaker 3: Irvin Meyer. No, he would not.
- 41:33Speaker 1: The guy who ran Convicts R Us.
- 41:37Speaker 3: He would have just told him, hey, you should have
- 41:39Speaker 3: kicked him in the head while you were at it.
- 41:41Speaker 1: Or shanked him.
- 41:42Speaker 3: Something. Yeah, that was a stupid take.
- 41:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 41:46Speaker 1: Look, I get it. Yeah, it was a bad look.
- 41:49Speaker 1: They want these guys to be gentlemen. But, I mean,
- 41:52Speaker 1: for me, first of all, it was– I don't think
- 41:57Speaker 1: it should have been a first down because I don't
- 41:59Speaker 1: get– that should not be a penalty. It should award
- 42:02Speaker 1: the yardage. Yeah, but not the automatic first. Because they
- 42:05Speaker 1: were already like first and 13. It was third and
- 42:09Speaker 1: 13 and something. Then he sacked like 10. It was
- 42:11Speaker 1: like a seven-yard loss.
- 42:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 42:14Speaker 1: So that gain should not have given him.
- 42:16Speaker 3: But there was inside there 22 yeah he's 20.
- 42:18Speaker 1: So no it didn't end up doing anything but yeah
- 42:22Speaker 1: i i remember tweeting uh because i saw people tweeting
- 42:26Speaker 1: out that you uh you gotta send a message and
- 42:30Speaker 1: bench the kid and then he gets very next series
- 42:33Speaker 1: he gets two sacks and i said that's why you
- 42:34Speaker 1: don't bench the kid yeah that's why you don't bench
- 42:36Speaker 1: the kid yeah you might tell him something but you
- 42:39Speaker 1: don't bench him he's Too good. He's going to be
- 42:42Speaker 1: the first pass rusher. He's probably a top five pick
- 42:46Speaker 1: off that game alone.
- 42:48Speaker 3: Now, does that take him to be considered from the Heisman? Nah, man.
- 42:54Speaker 3: Who's the other guy, too, from North Carolina State or something? Stewart.
- 42:59Speaker 3: Kalen Stewart. Kalen Stewart?
- 43:00Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 43:01Speaker 3: The guy that, like, he was fighting with people or
- 43:03Speaker 3: something like that?
- 43:04Speaker 1: Yeah, with Alabama? Yeah.
- 43:07Speaker 3: But now, I don't know. I don't think he should
- 43:09Speaker 3: be taken off consideration. And as I told you as
- 43:12Speaker 3: we were watching the game, I was like, that was
- 43:14Speaker 3: a dumb penalty. That was because if that would have
- 43:17Speaker 3: kept Texas from winning the game, then we'd be talking different.
- 43:21Speaker 1: I do have a problem with Sark is that Manning
- 43:27Speaker 1: was getting blitzed all day. That's all the volunteers were doing, blitzing.
- 43:30Speaker 1: They weren't rushing four. They were blitzing five, six. They
- 43:33Speaker 1: were blitzing. And it seemed like the whole game, he
- 43:38Speaker 1: didn't know how to adjust to it. I kept yelling slant, slant.
- 43:40Speaker 1: Then finally in the fourth, he hits Wingo on a slant.
- 43:43Speaker 1: Wingo runs a slant, hits it. Now the very next series,
- 43:49Speaker 1: they tried to blitz again. And this time, a middle
- 43:54Speaker 1: linebacker pulled out. And so you couldn't hit the slant.
- 43:57Speaker 1: But I'm saying early in the game, because I kept
- 44:02Speaker 1: watching replays. And every time they blitzed, it was all verticals.
- 44:07Speaker 1: There was nothing going in the middle where there was
- 44:10Speaker 1: just free range there. So I don't know what's his
- 44:14Speaker 1: deal if he has a script. Sometimes you need to
- 44:17Speaker 1: adjust to the game and go with what's going on. Okay,
- 44:20Speaker 1: they want to blitz. I used to love Bill Parcells'
- 44:25Speaker 1: first year with the Cowboys. He told Quincy Carter in
- 44:28Speaker 1: the offense, he goes, I can't wait for the Eagles
- 44:32Speaker 1: to blitz. He said, because, he said, they're going to blitz.
- 44:36Speaker 1: He said, we're going to beat them. He said, you're
- 44:39Speaker 1: going to hope they blitz.
- 44:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 44:40Speaker 1: And then sure enough, in that first game at Texas
- 44:43Speaker 1: Stadium against the Eagles, they blitzed and Quincy Carter was
- 44:47Speaker 1: beating them all day.
- 44:47Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 44:48Speaker 1: Because they were throwing quick slants, quick slants, and they
- 44:51Speaker 1: won that game.
- 44:51Speaker 3: Or even some design runs for Arch. Like, you know,
- 44:55Speaker 3: a quick quarterback draw. Like, oh, we're going to pass. Okay,
- 44:57Speaker 3: let me get through. But, yeah, I think he had
- 45:00Speaker 3: a hit.
- 45:01Speaker 1: Or a screen.
- 45:01Speaker 3: Yeah, something. Something.
- 45:03Speaker 1: They're coming up. Let's throw it over the top, get
- 45:04Speaker 1: a screen, and let's go. But yeah, I had a
- 45:07Speaker 1: problem with that. So we're on a bye. Still the
- 45:12Speaker 1: first team in the nation.
- 45:15Speaker 3: Do you call it a bye or is it still idle?
- 45:18Speaker 1: No, they call it a bye.
- 45:19Speaker 3: They don't call it a bye?
- 45:20Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 45:23Speaker 1: So we're bye. Then the week after on the 10th
- 45:28Speaker 1: will be the Red River Showdown. And boy, oh boy,
- 45:33Speaker 1: I got some problems in Norman with one John Mateer.
- 45:39Speaker 1: Because he did something that will live in infamy. Just
- 45:45Speaker 1: like the butt fumble with Mark Sanchez. He had a
- 45:49Speaker 1: wide open tight end in the end zone. It was 14-0.
- 45:53Speaker 1: And what does he do? he makes a pass without
- 45:56Speaker 1: the ball the ball's behind it how do you lose
- 46:01Speaker 1: the grip of the ball behind you and you still
- 46:04Speaker 1: follow through the Georgia linebacker picks it up and takes
- 46:08Speaker 1: it all the way back and they got mauled dude
- 46:12Speaker 1: and now all I see is people from OU saying
- 46:17Speaker 1: OU fans saying that yeah this ain't the guy this
- 46:21Speaker 1: ain't the guy maybe we should start looking at the
- 46:25Speaker 1: other guys And same thing down in College Station where
- 46:30Speaker 1: the LSU, man, I told you. LSU's going to beat them.
- 46:33Speaker 1: I told you. They got four losses in them. They
- 46:35Speaker 1: got an A4 season coming. Yeah. That's two already. And
- 46:41Speaker 1: things are dire with Arkansas coming into town. Marcel Reed.
- 46:44Speaker 3: Is he getting baked or not? No, dude. Not yet?
- 46:47Speaker 1: Did you not see Elko? Elko refuses to even entertain it.
- 46:52Speaker 1: He was asked after the game, Did you ever think
- 46:56Speaker 1: of him? He's like, no. And then he had a
- 46:58Speaker 1: long-winded speech about, you know, what kind of man, what
- 47:03Speaker 1: kind of leader would I be if the first sign
- 47:06Speaker 1: of trouble, I get rid of our quarterback, I bench
- 47:09Speaker 1: our quarterback, I move our quarterback. And everybody's like, all
- 47:12Speaker 1: the fans are climbing for him. All the Aggie fans
- 47:14Speaker 1: have had it with him. They're like, okay, he's not
- 47:16Speaker 1: as good. He's regressed. He's not as good as we
- 47:19Speaker 1: all thought he was going to. Because they kept saying
- 47:22Speaker 1: all offseason, he's going to get better. He's going to
- 47:24Speaker 1: get better. Oh, he's going to get better. Yeah, he's
- 47:26Speaker 1: going to cut down to interceptions. Dude, he's not. He's not.
- 47:29Speaker 1: He's throwing it up. That last one he had against LSU,
- 47:34Speaker 1: he just threw it right to the guy.
- 47:35Speaker 3: Yeah, I saw that. I was watching that, too. It was, yeah.
- 47:39Speaker 3: But it's good to see these things happening to those
- 47:41Speaker 3: teams right now. It feels good.
- 47:43Speaker 1: Dude, I remember we were sitting right here when we
- 47:47Speaker 1: were doing that other podcast, and your brother-in-law, who's an
- 47:52Speaker 1: Aggie fan, I was telling him, You guys are smoking mirrors.
- 47:56Speaker 1: You're not good. They beat– everybody talks about– I saw
- 48:00Speaker 1: Aggie Knox tweet out, we'll always have those 11 wins
- 48:05Speaker 1: in 25. They beat four schools that got rid of
- 48:09Speaker 1: their coaches. They were smoking mirrors. They should have lost
- 48:13Speaker 1: to South Carolina. South Carolina was dumb. They pissed that
- 48:17Speaker 1: game away. They lost to Texas. They got beat by– Miami,
- 48:23Speaker 1: everybody who always proclaims the Notre Dame win, they should
- 48:25Speaker 1: have lost to Notre Dame. They got away with a pick.
- 48:29Speaker 1: With their offensive pass interference, they got away with one
- 48:32Speaker 1: to win the game. But they were not as good
- 48:37Speaker 1: as everybody thought. And that schedule, easy schedule they had
- 48:41Speaker 1: last year, it fooled everybody. It snowed everybody into thinking,
- 48:45Speaker 1: we're good. We're going to be good this year. No,
- 48:49Speaker 1: you're not. And they lost a lot of players, too.
- 48:52Speaker 3: They did.
- 48:53Speaker 1: They lost Cassius Howell on defense. They lost Casey Cubs
- 48:56Speaker 1: to the NFL, you know? So, yeah, they are not
- 49:00Speaker 1: as good as what they thought.
- 49:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 49:03Speaker 1: And, I mean, I'm happy to see their demise as
- 49:07Speaker 1: a Longhorn fan, but I'm like, wow, that was even
- 49:10Speaker 1: worse than I thought.
- 49:12Speaker 3: The other night. Yeah, I mean, but it is what
- 49:15Speaker 3: it is, man. I honestly that's all I do is
- 49:18Speaker 3: hate watch these games and hoping they lose and it
- 49:22Speaker 3: brings joy to my heart to see them and speaking
- 49:25Speaker 3: of Mateer I mean last year whenever the.
- 49:28Speaker 1: Texas OU game the thumb yeah they were like oh
- 49:30Speaker 1: and then he.
- 49:31Speaker 3: Comes back and everybody was like oh you're in trouble
- 49:33Speaker 3: John Mateer this this and this and then we stopped the.
- 49:36Speaker 1: Rest and then he had a meltdown in the playoffs
- 49:38Speaker 1: against Alabama.
- 49:39Speaker 3: Yeah And one other thing I wanted to kind of
- 49:44Speaker 3: get into, and you mentioned it while we were watching
- 49:47Speaker 3: the Texas game, is it time to start talking about
- 49:51Speaker 3: Coach Prime?
- 49:52Speaker 1: Yeah, dude. This is his fourth year, and they do
- 49:57Speaker 1: not look good. I don't know if you saw that.
- 50:00Speaker 1: Who was it? Chad Johnson and I forgot who else
- 50:04Speaker 1: went at it. Oh, Chris. No, that wasn't Chad. It's
- 50:08Speaker 1: Terrell Owens. T-O.
- 50:09Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 50:10Speaker 1: And Chris Carter were going at it. And I forgot
- 50:15Speaker 1: who tweeted. It was T.O. tweeted about what Chris Carter
- 50:17Speaker 1: said about him or something like that. And Coach Prime
- 50:21Speaker 1: gets involved and he writes a tweet. And somebody told him,
- 50:25Speaker 1: you know, you got bigger fish to fry. You got
- 50:29Speaker 1: more important things than to get involved in this. And
- 50:32Speaker 1: then I saw another one say, Coach, I love you,
- 50:36Speaker 1: but you got to do something about this team, man.
- 50:38Speaker 1: You need to quit worrying about these squabbles. between your
- 50:41Speaker 1: friends and worry about your team, your school, because you're
- 50:45Speaker 1: not looking good.
- 50:46Speaker 3: And they're benching the quarterback, too. Dude, I.
- 50:50Speaker 1: Don't think that's going to help. They had Travis Hunter, man.
- 50:55Speaker 1: They had Travis Hunter, and Shador was a good college quarterback.
- 50:59Speaker 3: Shador was doing what he was doing.
- 51:00Speaker 1: He was a good college quarterback.
- 51:02Speaker 3: Does he deserve to get his jersey retired?
- 51:04Speaker 1: No, but yeah, they just— I remember a buddy of
- 51:08Speaker 1: mine from L.A., he said, watch. In that first season,
- 51:12Speaker 1: he was like, watch. In three years, Deion's going to
- 51:16Speaker 1: be running. And I tweeted him last year, like, what
- 51:18Speaker 1: do you think now? And he's like, good callback. And,
- 51:21Speaker 1: you know, everybody now is starting to see that. Okay,
- 51:23Speaker 1: maybe he's not a good coach. Maybe he's just a face.
- 51:27Speaker 3: I think that's what I was going to say. I
- 51:29Speaker 3: think Colorado just brought a man to make the program
- 51:33Speaker 3: relevant and to sell tickets. And jerseys and that kind
- 51:37Speaker 3: of thing. Yeah, I think if he doesn't do anything.
- 51:41Speaker 3: And they got Texas Tech this weekend. Texas is going
- 51:44Speaker 3: to go into Boulder.
- 51:46Speaker 1: Well, you better hope so because Will Hammond was struggling too.
- 51:49Speaker 3: Oh, he was.
- 51:50Speaker 1: Will Hammond was struggling. They did have the linebacker who
- 51:54Speaker 1: returned two interceptions on back-to-back plays. That was crazy. But, yeah,
- 52:00Speaker 1: the Big 12 now. Look out for Oklahoma State, man.
- 52:03Speaker 1: Oklahoma State is winning. They beat West Virginia. They keep rolling, man,
- 52:08Speaker 1: after beating Oregon. They might be a team, the sleeper
- 52:12Speaker 1: in Big 12. That might be the problem for Texas
- 52:15Speaker 1: Tech is Oklahoma State.
- 52:17Speaker 3: Yeah. And then who is Oklahoma State playing this week?
- 52:20Speaker 3: Are they idols as well?
- 52:21Speaker 1: I think they're idols.
- 52:22Speaker 3: Yeah. Okay.
- 52:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't see them playing anyway.
- 52:26Speaker 3: Dude, I am worried about Texas after Oklahoma because after
- 52:30Speaker 3: that it's.
- 52:31Speaker 1: Florida– It's a daunting schedule, yeah.
- 52:34Speaker 3: Six ranked teams?
- 52:36Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 52:37Speaker 1: Florida's at home, though. I think they got that one
- 52:40Speaker 1: marked down after last year. I think they're going to
- 52:45Speaker 1: win that game. Oregon beats USC, but they lose Dante
- 52:50Speaker 1: Moore on a hit. Now, I don't think that hit
- 52:54Speaker 1: was as bad as everybody, but it was a celebration after.
- 52:57Speaker 3: I think it was after.
- 52:57Speaker 1: Yeah, it was a bang-bang play. He slid late a
- 53:01Speaker 1: little bit. But, yeah, the celebration afterwards and the dabbing
- 53:05Speaker 1: up of the teammates as Dante Morozo there having a seizure. Yeah.
- 53:12Speaker 1: That was a bad luck.
- 53:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 53:14Speaker 1: That kid's been suspended indefinitely by USC.
- 53:17Speaker 3: Was he?
- 53:17Speaker 1: Yeah. But, yeah, Dante Morozo. Pavia came in and looked
- 53:22Speaker 1: good against USC. Yeah. The fake Pat Mahomes, you call him.
- 53:27Speaker 3: Not Pavia Rayola.
- 53:28Speaker 1: Not Pavia Rayola. The same one. They remind me of
- 53:31Speaker 1: the same guy.
- 53:32Speaker 3: I was like, what? Did he go back to college?
- 53:35Speaker 1: No, Rayola and Pavia, they remind me of the same dude.
- 53:38Speaker 1: To me, they're like the same kind of guy.
- 53:40Speaker 3: Rayola looked good, though.
- 53:41Speaker 1: Yeah, Rayola looked good. Hey, there was times Pavia looked
- 53:44Speaker 1: good in Vanderbilt. But, yeah, Rayola, you know, the Big Ten, Vanderbilt,
- 53:48Speaker 1: and he used to be in Nebraska, Rayola. Yeah. So, yeah,
- 53:53Speaker 1: Rayola looked pretty good, though. He came in. I didn't
- 53:56Speaker 1: think he was going to do that. He led Oregon
- 53:58Speaker 1: to victory. I thought USC was going to win once
- 54:00Speaker 1: Dante Moore got out, but, oh, he led them. Yeah.
- 54:04Speaker 1: And I don't know the update on Dante Moore. Is
- 54:07Speaker 1: he all right?
- 54:08Speaker 3: No, I'm not sure. I mean, yeah, he had a–
- 54:10Speaker 3: I think I saw the– I don't know if it
- 54:12Speaker 3: was the next day or that same night that he
- 54:14Speaker 3: had movement of all of his extremities, so. That was
- 54:18Speaker 3: a good thing to see.
- 54:19Speaker 1: I did see that, that they said he was moving
- 54:23Speaker 1: on the way to the hospital.
- 54:24Speaker 3: He's a top three pick, right? That's supposed to be.
- 54:29Speaker 3: And I thought he was making a mistake by going
- 54:30Speaker 3: back to college and not coming out.
- 54:34Speaker 1: I think after that Indiana game, he had to go
- 54:37Speaker 1: back because he looked so bad in the Indiana game.
- 54:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 54:42Speaker 1: So, yeah, I think he just had to do something to.
- 54:47Speaker 1: He had to do something. Let's look at the weekend. Oh,
- 54:50Speaker 1: by the way, Iowa beat Michigan with no time on
- 54:55Speaker 1: the clock.
- 54:57Speaker 3: They didn't get that extra second.
- 54:58Speaker 1: Oh, man. How karma is that, man?
- 55:01Speaker 3: And they play Ohio State this week.
- 55:03Speaker 1: Yeah. How karma is that, though? Let's look at the–
- 55:09Speaker 1: because like I said, Texas is idle. A & M
- 55:12Speaker 1: has Arkansas. Tech has Colorado. Colorado. Mississippi and Florida, like
- 55:19Speaker 1: you said, they've entered discussion. They've got some matchups. Florida
- 55:23Speaker 1: has Missouri, who just lost to Mississippi State, but Mississippi
- 55:27Speaker 1: State and Alabama. Yeah. At Mississippi State. That's at 11 a.m.,
- 55:33Speaker 1: and we got Ohio State, Iowa. Iowa, who just beat Michigan.
- 55:37Speaker 1: We got them at 2.30 on CBS.
- 55:40Speaker 3: LSU gets McNeese State in Death Valley. That's going to be.
- 55:44Speaker 1: easy yeah i was surprised that the night game for
- 55:47Speaker 1: abc is miami clemson but i'm pretty sure herbie and
- 55:53Speaker 1: and um what's his name uh god his name escapes
- 55:58Speaker 1: me right now but herbie and his announced partner they're
- 56:01Speaker 1: gonna do a band with mississippi state chris fowler chris
- 56:04Speaker 1: fowler yeah i'm pretty sure fowler and Herbie are going
- 56:08Speaker 1: to do Alabama, Mississippi State at 11 a.m.
- 56:10Speaker 3: And Notre Dame goes to Chapel Hill.
- 56:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 56:18Speaker 1: I don't expect Belichick to win that game.
- 56:21Speaker 3: Houston got UFC. Boston College is coming to Dallas for SMU.
- 56:25Speaker 1: SMU, yeah.
- 56:27Speaker 3: Auburn, Tennessee.
- 56:29Speaker 1: That Alabama, Mississippi State is probably going to be the
- 56:32Speaker 1: game of the week. I think the winner of that
- 56:34Speaker 1: is probably going to be the Heisman frontrunner. as of
- 56:38Speaker 1: right now, because, you know, Chambliss just lost. So he's out.
- 56:42Speaker 1: But this– Camario Taylor from Mississippi State, man, everybody's talking
- 56:48Speaker 1: about him, how good he is. I mean, I've seen highlights.
- 56:51Speaker 1: And they're going to come to Austin. And, you know,
- 56:56Speaker 1: they're mad about last year losing in overtime, losing that
- 57:00Speaker 1: big lead, that three-possession lead to us. But, yeah– That
- 57:06Speaker 1: game is going to be really good.
- 57:08Speaker 3: I mean, should that Ohio State or Iowa? That should
- 57:12Speaker 3: be good, right?
- 57:12Speaker 1: Yeah, that should be really good. That should be really good.
- 57:16Speaker 1: I don't think Iowa has the firepower to keep up
- 57:18Speaker 1: with them.
- 57:18Speaker 2: No.
- 57:18Speaker 1: Do they have the defense to stop Jeremiah Smith? Because
- 57:21Speaker 1: Jeremiah Smith is also in that Heisman discussion now.
- 57:23Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, yeah.
- 57:25Speaker 1: He's just putting up numbers.
- 57:27Speaker 3: I think after Ole Miss losing, I think Jeremiah Smith
- 57:31Speaker 3: is now the best player in the country.
- 57:33Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 57:34Speaker 3: And you can't cover them. Nobody can cover them. And
- 57:38Speaker 3: it's crazy. It's crazy.
- 57:43Speaker 1: The MLB playoffs are up and running. We already got
- 57:47Speaker 1: some series set. The wild card. Your Yankees defeated the
- 57:52Speaker 1: Boston Red Sox.
- 57:53Speaker 5: Easy.
- 57:53Speaker 1: Yeah. The San Diego Padres defeated the White Sox. The
- 57:57Speaker 1: Chicago Cubs. The White Sox took care of the Astros. Yes,
- 58:01Speaker 1: the Astros did win the division. Let's bury the Rangers
- 58:05Speaker 1: first real quick because people wanted to hear what I had,
- 58:09Speaker 1: my thoughts. I'm going to say right now, for off-season stuff,
- 58:13Speaker 1: I'm not even going to bother with that. I've already
- 58:15Speaker 1: seen the guys on the ticket, Sweet Spot, Hardline. They
- 58:19Speaker 1: all want to talk about off-season. I think we can't
- 58:23Speaker 1: talk about the off-season because we don't know how the
- 58:26Speaker 1: business of baseball.
- 58:26Speaker 3: Is going to be.
- 58:27Speaker 1: Right. We don't know. Until we know, we can't really–
- 58:30Speaker 1: I mean, I already see people– Get rid of Josh Young.
- 58:34Speaker 1: Get rid of DeGrom. We don't know what moves are
- 58:37Speaker 1: going to be made. We don't know, is there going
- 58:39Speaker 1: to be a cap? Is there going to be a floor?
- 58:41Speaker 1: We have no idea until we do. I think that's
- 58:45Speaker 1: moot right now.
- 58:46Speaker 3: Yeah, for every team. Not just the Rangers, but for
- 58:48Speaker 3: every team.
- 58:49Speaker 1: I will say this, though. Looking back at it, well,
- 58:53Speaker 1: I was right. If they would have went 6-4 in
- 58:55Speaker 1: the last 10, they would have won the division by
- 58:58Speaker 1: a game. When I said that, they were.
- 59:03Speaker 1: They were tied. It was our first episode, and they
- 59:07Speaker 1: had just tied the Astros. And I said, you got
- 59:09Speaker 1: to go six and four. got to go 6-4 as 7-3.
- 59:11Speaker 1: I said, 7-3 definitely gets it done. I said, 6-4
- 59:13Speaker 1: probably gets it done. And that's what we won. Astros
- 59:15Speaker 1: went 5-5. And I think the game, there's a lot
- 59:20Speaker 1: of games that I think back on that, man, that
- 59:22Speaker 1: game was killer. The one two weeks before the season
- 59:26Speaker 1: ended where DeGrom had a perfect game. A perfect game,
- 59:32Speaker 1: and they blew it. The bullpen came in and blew it.
- 59:34Speaker 1: They had a 3-0 lead. He came in and blew it,
- 59:36Speaker 1: and they lost 4-3, I believe.
- 59:37Speaker 3: And wasn't the bullpen one of the strongest? Yeah.
- 59:41Speaker 1: It was weird. They had this stat where if they
- 59:45Speaker 1: were leading after the 6, they were like, 60-5 or
- 59:51Speaker 1: something like that. Something crazy like that.
- 59:52Speaker 3: What are your highlights from the season? Obviously, Zeke. Zeke?
- 59:59Speaker 1: Zeke, Josh Young took a step even though he did not.
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: Jacob Lats, you got a closer. I think the more
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: missteps were Chris Young's in his trade. When they traded
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: for Mackenzie Gore, I didn't know why they did it.
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: I was like, why did they need that? I didn't
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: think they needed that, but at the time I thought, Okay,
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: we got DeGrom, we got Ivaldi, Leiter, Rocker, Latz. I
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: thought they should have kept Patrick Corbin, maybe Tyler Molle.
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: Tyler Molle is pitching good for the Braves, who look
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: like they're about to advance, by the way.
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: 5-0 right now.
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: But yeah, and then the trade for... Chase Lithlith from Angels. Dude,
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: that guy blew a lot of games.
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: Was he?
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: I thought he worked out a little bit. No, he
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: did not. There was a lot of games where he
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: just blew them. He came in and it was just
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: gas on fire, dude. And I was like, yeah, that
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: didn't work out either.
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: Isn't Josh Young finally hate his stride and then injuries?
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: Yeah, injuries. They got to do something about a trainer.
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: I think the problem is these guys go in the
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: offseason and do their own thing.
- 1:01:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: You got to figure out what to do because, like,
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: getting hit in the hand, yeah, I get that. Josh
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: Young gets hit in the hand a lot, but they
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: throw him inside. But, yeah, the hamstrings and all these
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: knee stuff that him and Wyatt Langford.
- 1:01:30Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: Seager's back. I think you got to get him off shortstop.
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: I think you got to put him at first base. Okay. Yeah.
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: I heard somebody say third, but Josh Young's playing at third.
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: You put Seager at first. That's where the spot is.
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: And not second?
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: Yeah, not second.
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: Not second either?
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: No, because you got Zeke there, I think.
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: Wow, Zeke plays everywhere.
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I know, but I think now you want Zeke
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: to have a spot if he can build on what
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: this is. He was a fine man, but, I mean,
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: Josh Smith had one. A couple years ago.
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: Yeah, he did.
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: He did.
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: And both of them were part of the.
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: The Joey Gallatroy.
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: The Joey Gallatroy, yeah.
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: They weren't even the main parts. They were just throw-ins.
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: Yeah, so... Yeah, the Rangers, I just don't... I don't
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: see anything where I'm, like, thinking, oh, man, we got
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: to do this, we got to do that. I'm not
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: doing that yet because we don't know what's coming.
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. But what do you think of the playoffs
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: so far, man? You got the Yanks of Tampa... You
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: got the White Sox with Cleveland. San Diego's got the Brewers,
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: the winner of this game, which it looks like to
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: be Atlanta against the Dodgers. What do you think?
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: It's going to be entertaining. I think all the best
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: teams advance. The best teams advance. Right now, I mean,
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: it looks like the Braves.
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: I'll tell you one thing. I like the way your
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: Yanks look, man. Contact. They were just hitting the ball.
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: They were playing like the.
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: Put some contact in.
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: Somebody said they were playing like the Brewers play. When
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: it's contact, small ball. We're not relying on the home run,
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: even though they were the second team with the most
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: home runs in the season. And they just came, everybody.
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: I mean, infield singles, just stealing bases. Yesterday with Spencer
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: Jones' strikeout, but he reached base because Adley Rushman had
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: a bad throw. Then he goes to steal second. And
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: then that's when the rally started, and they started hitting,
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: and everybody was hitting. Jazz hitting. It was amazing to see,
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: and obviously we cannot say, we cannot forget about the pitching.
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: I mean, Cam Slidler was Cam Slidler.
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: Dude, he did it again. The kid did it again.
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: He did it last year. He did it again this year.
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: The announcers on NBC at first, they were like, Oh,
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: you got to, you know, Cam Slidler, he's got 20
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: pitches in the first inning and this and that. And
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: you can see Joe Girardi, obviously, he was trying to
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: stick wide. It was like 20 pitches, whatever. And then
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: there he comes, Tully, Tully, Tully, Peyton Tully from the
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: Red Sox. And he also throws up by 19 pitches. Like, dude,
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: don't worry about it. And the guy settled down and
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: then they did. And Cam Slidler. And I'm glad that
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: Boone was like, I'm going to leave him there. Bro.
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: That's one thing about the last game with the Rangers
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: that pissed me the heff off. Mackenzie Gore went one
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: time through the lineup. He was okay. And Skip Schumacher said, okay,
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: that's enough. Give me the ball. I'm like, this is
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: a guy that you traded for.
- 1:04:34Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: This is supposed to be one of your big starters.
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: And in the biggest game of the year, because, I mean,
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: at the time, they were playing the same time as
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: the Astros. So if the Astros were to lose and
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: you won, you would have given it. And the biggest
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: game of the year. And one time through the lineup,
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: he says, give me the ball. And I'm like, really?
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: That's what we're doing? That was also at first. I've
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: seen some Red Sox fans talk about why did you
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: take out Tali? He wasn't cruising. But I think he
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: still got maybe one more time through the lineup. Even
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: last night with Sonny Gray, which he pissed me off.
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: He was talking shit about it.
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: What was he doing with touching his neck so much?
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: You texted me and I was like, yeah, I know.
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: I noticed that.
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: He's like, I noticed that, I think it was, I
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: saw it one time, and I was like, wait, that's weird.
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: But to me, and I think everybody's seen it, because
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: Jumbo jumped on it, and how he gets a ball back.
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: He gets a ball. He requests a new ball, throws
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: it back, and the first thing he does is touch
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: the neck. And, I mean, you can see it. You
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: can see a dirty neck. And, you know, as I
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: was saying, you know, Red Sox fans were talking about, oh,
- 1:05:43Speaker 3: you pulled him out too quick. And they were calling on,
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: I forgot the name of them, Tracy. Oh, why'd you
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: pull him out? And Joe Boy had a good point.
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: I think he was being a good manager, protecting this
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: player before he got caught and got suspended. So either way,
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: Yankees win, scored 18 runs.
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: Two runs, yeah.
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: And they saved their bullpen, too, which was great because
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: now you saw Paul Blackburn. He came in on Monday
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: for an inning and a third, but he had eight pitches.
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: He threw eight pitches or 18 pitches.
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I think the winner of Tampa Yankees is going
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: to the World Series. I don't think Cleveland and White Sox.
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: White Sox don't have pitches. They won because the Astros sucked.
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: I was laughing so hard in that second game when
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: Hunter Brown in the first, and they had to take
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: Hunter Brown, their best pitcher. Yeah. They took Hunter Brown out,
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: and they were like, that's it. I'm expecting the Astros.
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: I'm surprised we didn't hear anything today that they're cleaning house.
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: The spot is gone.
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: Well, they were pissed about them getting booed or not
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: being loud enough or the stadium not being full or whatever.
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I mean, I get it. It's a 4
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: o'clock game, and people down there in Houston are fair-weathered fans. But, yeah,
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: the booing, they were like, I didn't like being booed.
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: I saw a lot of them. Comments from Houston National
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: fans saying, well, don't suck then.
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: You've been sucking all year.
- 1:07:12Speaker 3: The only games that I did not watch was the
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: Padres because they were so late.
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I saw some of it. PCA let them down. Yeah.
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: PCA was not good. Same thing with Jordan. Jordan Alvarez.
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: Jordan Alvarez was one for seven in those two games
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: against the White Sox.
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: I mean.
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: Playoffs, man, it's different.
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I was talking to... my coworker today, he's a
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: Dodgers fan. And yeah, he was saying he cannot, PCA
- 1:07:40Speaker 3: cannot perform under pressure. Like he's supposed to be the
- 1:07:43Speaker 3: MVP in the national league. Right. So what is he doing? So, yeah,
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: I mean, it was, I didn't watch it. I did
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: keep up with it a little bit the first game,
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: because I saw when Machado and Tatis went back to back,
- 1:07:56Speaker 3: didn't go, they go back to back or at least
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: get home runs in the first inning. And I think
- 1:08:00Speaker 3: they never looked back after that.
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: So, um, NL-wise, what do you think about it? Brewers
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: got Padres. Braves got Dodgers.
- 1:08:13Speaker 3: You know, right now, man, right now for me, San
- 1:08:17Speaker 3: Diego is somebody, their team to keep an eye on.
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: I think they're hot. They came out hot. They came,
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: they ended the season hot. Very hot. Their bullpen can
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: shut you down.
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: Dude, I expected more from, I really did expect more
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: from the, the Brewers, the, the, The Cubs.
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: I expected more from them, the way they were playing
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: and everything. I know the Bregman injury hurt them, but
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: I just expected more, and I was surprised the way
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: the Padres pretty much took care of them easily.
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: Yeah, but I think the Padres, I think they're a
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: dangerous team. Keep an eye out for them because, like
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: I said, they have that bullpen. If you get to
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: the bullpen and they have a lead, I think you're
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: shut down. I think that's it. They're in the game.
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: They have that type of bullpen. The Braves, they keep battling.
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: The Braves are the Braves. They have Ronald Acuna, Austin Riley,
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: who hit that walk-off home run on Monday or Tuesday.
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: And Even though, I didn't think, who's their ace right now?
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: Not Strider. Chris Sell.
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: Chris Sell, yeah.
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: He didn't look good in the first game.
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: No, he didn't.
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: But they pulled him out and they got the win.
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: How disappointing are the Phillies, man?
- 1:09:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: Yeah. I still go back to three years ago. I
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: was so happy when Arizona beat the Phillies because as
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: soon as that happened in game seven, I was like,
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: The Rangers are going to win the World Series. I
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: never thought I was going to say that, but I
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: said the Rangers are going to win the World Series
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: because they can beat Arizona. If the Phillies had won,
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: I was like, yeah, that would have been a tougher
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: matchup with Harper, Schwarber, and I forgot who else was
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: on that team at the time, Castellanos.
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: Well, shit, Arizona almost ruined their party, too. They almost,
- 1:10:05Speaker 3: they came down to the last game, the last two.
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: Games, and took that wild card from them.
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: And I didn't think they were that close.
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: I mean, getting shut out here with Schwarber and Harper,
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: they might have to, Go back and rethink things.
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: So the Dodgers are waiting on the winner of this game, right?
- 1:10:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:10:20Speaker 3: Okay. So, all right. So Padres, Brewers is going to be,
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: it's interesting. I'm looking forward to watching those series.
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: Yeah. Playoff baseball, man. It's a great time of year.
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: It's a great time of year. We got NFL. We
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: got college football. We got.
- 1:10:40Speaker 3: At least for us anyway.
- 1:10:41Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:10:43Speaker 3: But I'm not going to lie. I am a little
- 1:10:45Speaker 3: scared of Tampa Bay.
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: Well, you have to be. They're a top team. But
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: I'm telling you, the Yankees beat Tampa Bay. They're going
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: to the World Series. The winner of that series is
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: going to go to the World Series. I like the
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: White Sox. I think they're fun. But I don't think
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: they have the bullets in the chamber.
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: Well, the White Sox have the Pope's blessing. So it's
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: a little bit.
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: Did you hear somebody ask if he made a prayer for... Yeah, yeah.
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: He was asked, did he have a prayer for the
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: White Sox to go to the World Series? And he said,
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: no comment.
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: That's, yeah, that's, what do you call it? That's unfair
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: for the other teams. They have the help of the Lord.
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: Of a deity. Yeah, come on.
- 1:11:28Speaker 3: That's crazy. MLB should step in and do something about it. Yeah.
- 1:11:33Speaker 4: I hit it and quit it. Then I move on
- 1:11:36Speaker 4: to the next. And with the next, I hit it
- 1:11:40Speaker 4: and quit it. And what do I do with the
- 1:11:43Speaker 4: next one? I hit it and quit it.
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: I want you to hit it.
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: Hit it and quit it. I want you to hit it.
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: Time for a little hit it and quit it. This
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: is our version of sports quick hits. We just touched
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: on stuff briefly. And we have the Dallas Stars, man.
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: Start tomorrow. Hockey has already started. Saw Florida upset the
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: champs in overtime in a 1-0 game last night. But, yeah,
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: I can't believe it. Hockey's already here, man. It was weird.
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: It just, like, snuck up on us. They added two
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: more games. There's an 84-game season now, and they only
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: did four preseason games.
- 1:12:39Speaker 3: Oh, okay, okay. I was going to say, how did
- 1:12:40Speaker 3: they do that?
- 1:12:41Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: But, yeah, I didn't know that. I guess I didn't. Honestly,
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: I didn't watch any games yesterday or I haven't watched any.
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: I haven't seen any hockey games. I've seen, like, highlights
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: and I've kept up. I know Edmonton had a bad
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: showing with their new coach, the legendary Mike Babcock.
- 1:12:58Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: But, yeah, I'm really interested to see tomorrow. I mean,
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: like I said, Longhorns are idle. They got a game Saturday,
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: I believe, too. They'll both be on the ticket, I believe.
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: And they are on Prime. I know they're on Prime. Well, yeah.
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: The new streaming deals with Prime. I was thinking more of...
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: I know they're on TNT tomorrow night. It's a TNT game.
- 1:13:39Speaker 3: Oh, tomorrow? Yeah. It's their opening.
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: And then they're on ESPN. Well, I'm guessing they're on Prime,
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: but on ESPN it says ESPN Plus as well. But, yeah,
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: I mean, they start off with the Blues and they
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: play the Predators on Saturday. But, yeah, really interesting to see.
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: I mean, Duchesne's already on the IR. He probably won't
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: play for the whole month. Tyler Sagan and Ben's probably
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: last ride, especially Ben. Sagan comes off the books. I
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: did see an interview that Jim Nill said in December,
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: he'll start opening up talks with Jason Robertson. No, he
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: says there's probably a number there. It's probably 14, 15,
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: I would say, but it's very interesting that he said
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: in December because they can start talking in January. And
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: my guess is this might be, Hey, we're going to
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: give it a month. If we're not even close, then
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: we might have to entertain the possibility of moving, which
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: I don't think is going to happen. I think Robo's
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: going to stay because I think the stars aligned, forgive
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: the pun, as Sagan's going to be off the books.
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: That's $ 9 million there. The cap goes up six. Robo's
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: already making 12, so if you give him an extra
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: three at 15, I think it all works out. Yeah.
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: It all works out. And it's just, I saw ESPN,
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: was it ESPN or Athletic? wrote an article previewing it
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: and said it's basically the stars are going to go
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: as far as Robertson takes them. I think they're forgetting
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: about Mikko Rendon.
- 1:15:12Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah. And he was what? I saw the
- 1:15:14Speaker 3: top 100.
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: He's their best player. I love Robo, but Mikko is
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: their best player until further notice.
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think it was a whole contract
- 1:15:24Speaker 3: and it has people caught up on it. They forget
- 1:15:27Speaker 3: that they did trade for Mikko, so. Yeah, looking forward
- 1:15:32Speaker 3: to the season, man. I'm just hoping to see, hopefully, finally,
- 1:15:36Speaker 3: you know, getting over that hurdle, man. Because I feel
- 1:15:38Speaker 3: like we've been there. We've been one of the best
- 1:15:40Speaker 3: teams in the NHL for, what's it say, 19, 18? Mm-hmm. So,
- 1:15:47Speaker 3: for seven, eight years, and they just cannot. And, you know,
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: we got there once. So, yeah, I'm really looking forward
- 1:15:56Speaker 3: to it. Hopefully, they can go over the hump and,
- 1:16:00Speaker 3: and actually get the Stanley Cup. And one thing that
- 1:16:03Speaker 3: I did last year, speaking of Robbo, his physicality has
- 1:16:07Speaker 3: actually got better. Yeah.
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: Yeah, Robbo last year when asked, hey, do you want
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: to change your game because of the whole USA snub,
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: Team USA snub, and he said, no, I love my game.
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: I love where it's going. And he did get more
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: physical last year, and I think that was because of
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: the coaching change. But they got to do something 5-on-5.
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: They were going to the worst. I mean, power play,
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: they were great, but on 5-on-5, they were really bad.
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: But I think that had to do with injuries, man.
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: I think you did have, you lost Sagan very early.
- 1:16:44Speaker 3: You did.
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: You lost Mikko for, what, a month and a half
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: after the Olympics? Yeah. Because he got hurt in the Olympics.
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: There's no Olympics this year. There's no break. There's no
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: huge break. So, you know, I think I mean, 84 season,
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: but they're spreading them out, the games, even more. So
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: that's why they're starting so early. Normally they start about
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: midway October, and now they started right in October. Yeah. But, yeah,
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: I'm very excited. I'm hoping I can go to some
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: games this year now that my kid's going to be four.
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: I'm hoping that's the case.
- 1:17:21Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll see. I'm there for some games.
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: Speaking of the other AAC attendant, the Mavericks– so the Mavs,
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: did you see that they demoted Michael Finley? They're making,
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: I did not see that.
- 1:17:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:17:41Speaker 3: They demoted him to, well, he was what?
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: He was like a assistant to the GM.
- 1:17:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:17:46Speaker 3: But it's changed GMs.
- 1:17:47Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: But he was still, um, he was, uh, I mean,
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: even in the draft, there was a video of, of him, uh,
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: talking to, uh, talking to, what's his name, Masai. And
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: Masai was asking him, hey, what do you think? Do
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: you like this pick? Are you happy with this pick?
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: When they were talking about Montez Johnson. Are you happy
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: with this pick with the coach? So Finley was in
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: the room and he said, you good with it, Finley?
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: And he's like, mm-hmm, yeah, yeah. So I was like, oh,
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: he's still there. I guess they like his input. But
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: then we hear this week that they demoted him. that
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: he is now, it said, most notably, the team announced
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: Thursday a new title for former co-interim general manager Michael Finley.
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: He will now serve as the franchise's senior director of player, community,
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: and alumni engagement.
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: So, they just.
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: So, basically, it's like... I remember when Brent Hull, before
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: he became the Assistant GM here, they gave him the
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: title Ambassador of Fun. That's what it makes me think of.
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: And yeah, they did an overall, so.
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: Yeah. I wonder if he stays....
- 1:19:12Speaker 3: I mean, I would want him on my team if
- 1:19:15Speaker 3: it was the assistant GM or special advisor to the
- 1:19:19Speaker 3: GM or basketball operations. Because he was part of what
- 1:19:24Speaker 3: they built with Luka and Kyrie. But I think when
- 1:19:28Speaker 3: you bring in Masajid Jiri, who has a great reputation
- 1:19:31Speaker 3: in the NBA, you've got to make some changes. Especially
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: with the new coach, new GM. So, yeah, I think
- 1:19:40Speaker 3: it's good. And now with having three former first-round picks
- 1:19:45Speaker 3: in your team, I'm looking forward to that.
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: Did you see Cooper grew an inch?
- 1:19:51Speaker 3: That's what he said. I mean, I wouldn't be surprised.
- 1:19:53Speaker 3: He was only 19, so he.
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: Could still have a— He was only 18 when he
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: came in.
- 1:19:57Speaker 3: 18, so he could have been a quick little growth spurt.
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: He got an inch. Well, I remember I heard Wemby
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: last year grew an inch, and I thought that wasn't fair.
- 1:20:04Speaker 3: You don't need to grow anymore. He's a cheat code,
- 1:20:08Speaker 3: even though he choked in the playoffs. But, yeah, I
- 1:20:14Speaker 3: don't know if they'll make the playoffs, but it should
- 1:20:15Speaker 3: be a fun team with Kyrie back.
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: I think that's the thing. We didn't see Kyrie and
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: Cooper together. Now we're going to get to see them.
- 1:20:24Speaker 3: I saw the interview with Pat Downey, and he asked me,
- 1:20:28Speaker 3: you love it here. I was like, yeah, I love
- 1:20:31Speaker 3: it here. It looks like he wants to be here. Obviously,
- 1:20:35Speaker 3: you know, you keep thinking about the Kyrie with Boston
- 1:20:38Speaker 3: and with the Nets and he's toxic and all this stuff.
- 1:20:42Speaker 3: And he came over here, even though he came here
- 1:20:43Speaker 3: with Luca and they build that bond ship, you know,
- 1:20:46Speaker 3: me hermano that, that, uh, but yeah, I love having
- 1:20:51Speaker 3: him here. Cooper's just going to keep improving. I think,
- 1:20:53Speaker 3: you know, with, uh, I don't, I don't know how
- 1:20:56Speaker 3: you pronounce, uh, uh, the trade that we got the
- 1:21:00Speaker 3: number one pick that we got from, uh, was it Atlanta?
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: De La Raya?
- 1:21:04Speaker 3: Richard Shearer.
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: Oh, that guy, yeah.
- 1:21:07Speaker 3: I forget. I don't know how to pronounce his name.
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:21:09Speaker 3: He was a former number one overall pick, right?
- 1:21:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: No, he was a number one pick. He wasn't former.
- 1:21:13Speaker 3: He wasn't number one overall?
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: No. I thought he was. No, he was a top.
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: I think he was like a top eight pick or
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: something like that.
- 1:21:19Speaker 3: I think he was number one overall. And he was
- 1:21:22Speaker 3: a weak draft.
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, I can't remember what draft. I saw Nemhardt
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: went with Denver.
- 1:21:34Speaker 3: He did, yeah. Two-way contract, I saw that. But you
- 1:21:38Speaker 3: know who came back is Dwight Powell.
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: Dwight Powell. I meant to send that to our former buddy.
- 1:21:47Speaker 3: He's not our former buddy.
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: He's our former buddy. He's an enemy now. He's a frenemy.
- 1:21:52Speaker 3: But I did see he's the one that has been
- 1:21:55Speaker 3: with three generational players for the Mavs. Dirk, Luka, and
- 1:22:00Speaker 3: Cooper Flagg. He's going to play with all.
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: Some would call him the glue.
- 1:22:04Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, probably. But, yeah, that's a. They start soon.
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: The 21st, I believe, is the first Maverick game.
- 1:22:13Speaker 3: I think next week is their first preseason.
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: Preseason.
- 1:22:16Speaker 4: Okay. Yeah.
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I believe they start in the. Yeah, they start
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: in the 21st, I believe, with the Houston Rockets. I
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: believe that is the game.
- 1:22:31Speaker 3: Let's see, they got Zachary Ressachere. Yeah, he was a
- 1:22:42Speaker 3: first overall pick by the Hawks in the 2024 draft.
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: First overall?
- 1:22:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: I don't remember him being a first overall.
- 1:22:49Speaker 3: So that's why they saw the picture that they had
- 1:22:53Speaker 3: three first overall picks now. Kyrie, Zachary, and Cooper Flagg.
- 1:23:01Speaker 3: And I want to see how weak that 2024 draft was.
- 1:23:04Speaker 3: How weak it was.
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't recall him.
- 1:23:09Speaker 4: Oh, and.
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: Yeah, you're right. Sacks just here. Man, that must have
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: not been a.
- 1:23:16Speaker 3: Let's see. It was... Alex Starr was the second overall.
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: Yeah, French forward, yeah.
- 1:23:24Speaker 3: Reese Shepard.
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: Two French guys back-to-back.
- 1:23:27Speaker 3: Yeah. Zach Eady was the ninth overall. Devin Carter. Keishon
- 1:23:36Speaker 3: George for the Wizards. And that was a Bronny James draft.
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: Ah, no wonder.
- 1:23:43Speaker 3: That was a Bronny James. Yeah, because, I mean, Zach
- 1:23:46Speaker 3: Keating was one that kind of.
- 1:23:49Speaker 3: I can see that I recognize. Jacoby Wader. AJ Johnson.
- 1:24:01Speaker 3: Ryan Dunn. I thought he was dead.
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: I thought he was dead.
- 1:24:08Speaker 3: Yeah, but even the moves that they have made, the
- 1:24:12Speaker 3: maps so far with the two Spanish guys.
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm very interested to see, man. We'll see.
- 1:24:18Speaker 3: One of them looked really good.
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm very interested to see their preseason games, just
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: to see how much these guys play. I mean, I
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: know everybody's high on De La Raya. They call him Larry, apparently,
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: but Let's curb our enthusiasm for right now. Let's let
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: these kids play. Let's not put the weight of the
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: world on them like we did with Cooper Flagg. Yeah,
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: let's just let them play. Let them develop. I mean,
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: right now it's Cooper's team, Kyrie's team. Let's see how
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: they do. Let's let these kids, Montez Johnson, let's see
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: how they do around. Just the way it is. I
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: believe most of you who are listening know this, that
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: I used to host a boxing podcast. I did it
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: for five years. It ended back in May. It ended
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: once I started doing the radio show and this pod, basically.
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: I'm still a huge boxing fan. I've got to tell you,
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: the story that has been this whole year with boxing
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: has been basically Dana White from the UFC has attempt
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: to try to take over boxing as well because he
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: thought that somebody needed to be like a commissioner in
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: boxing and take over and he thought it was him.
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: So it's very funny to me what has transpired for
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: him in the past week when he tried to insert
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: himself in a mega fight between former World Heavyweight Champion
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: Tyson Fury and former World Heavyweight Champion Anthony Joshua. These
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: guys are finally going to fight December 11th on Netflix
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: in Great Britain, in Cardiff, Wales. But for some reason,
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: Dana White tried to get that fight over here in
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: New York, in Madison Square Garden. And everybody in the
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: boxing world wondered, why? Why the hell are two Brits
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: going to fight in New York? And he sold it
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: to Netflix. Well, I don't know if he sold it.
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: I think the people who work with him, TKO... And
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: Turkey Al-Sheikh, who's funding them, they put it with Netflix.
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: So I think Netflix's whole big deal was we want
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: a USA time start. I think Netflix doesn't realize how
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: many USA people, Americans, don't give a shit about this fight.
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: Don't give a shit about this boxing. I mean, it's
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: going to be free on Netflix. So I think people
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: will watch. But I don't think it's not like something
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: that people are clamoring for over here.
- 1:26:51Speaker 3: Do you think it's because it's already kind of late already?
- 1:26:53Speaker 3: Like they should have fought before?
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: Well, even if they would have fought before, because they
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: were supposed to fight in 21. But then Deontay Wilder
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: took Fury to court and won an injunction and said
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: that Fury had to fight him again for a third fight.
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: But they were going to fight in Saudi Arabia in 21,
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: if I remember correctly. And I remember Tyson Fury announced
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: the fight, and then the next day, The court ruling
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: came down that he had to fight Wilder. And it
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: just blew up the whole thing. So they should have fought.
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: Joshua lost twice to Usyk. Fury fought Usyk as well.
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: Lost twice to him. And they've both been... They're both
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: old now. They're both 38 and 36.
- 1:27:35Speaker 3: I mean, Anthony Joshua's... Who's the one who knocked out
- 1:27:38Speaker 3: the Paul brother, right?
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: Yes. He's the one who broke his jaw.
- 1:27:44Speaker 3: And, yeah.
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: So they're about to fight, and the big funny thing
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: for me was that Esteve, Dana White, tried to insert himself, right?
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: So back in June, Dana White said, He was in
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: the UK promoting a boxing event, Zufa Boxing. His boxing,
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: that's like the UFC, which sucks. They have no fighters, dude.
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: I mean, they had to pay Ryan Garcia, a fighter
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: from Oscar de la Hoya, to have a big event
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: and apparently to fight their British guy that they signed,
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: Conor Benn, and apparently that did terrible. And it's because
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: it was during the middle of college football season and everything.
- 1:28:28Speaker 3: And Garcia beat Sherman, right?
- 1:28:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: The fight... Happened to start right after Texas beat Ohio State.
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: Right after that game ended, they were both already in
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: the ring, ready to fight. So, yeah, a lot of
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: people did not tune in for it, and they were like, oh.
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: I remember asking, and that's the thing. Like, I asked
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: a lot of people I know who watch boxing. Hey,
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: did you see Ryan Garcia? Like, oh, he fought? What
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: did he fight? They had no idea. So, they did
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: a bad promotion there. So Dana White's been trying to
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: take over. So back in June, he promoted a fight
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: over there in the UK in Bournemouth. And the press
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: asked him, hey, what's this rumor that you're involved in
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: this fight? Can you tell us anything? And he goes,
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: I know where the fight is. I've done the venue.
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: And it was rumored to be in New York, Madison
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: Square Garden. And he said, Eddie Hearn, who's Joshua's promoter,
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: He don't know it. He don't know anything. I'm the
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: big guy. I did all this. I brought the fight
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: to you. I brought it to Netflix. I'm the guy.
- 1:29:29Speaker 3: This was Dana?
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: Yeah, so he's saying this, right? So, meanwhile, Eddie Hearn,
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: Joshua's promoter, is saying, well, the contract that we already
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: signed says that this fight has to happen in the UK.
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: I believe the contract that Tyson Fury signed said it
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: needed to be in Ireland. So they had two different languages.
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: They both signed with Turk Yelashig. So Dana White had
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: nothing to do with that. But for some reason, he
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: tried to get this fight over here, to which finally
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: it was announced last week that it's in the UK
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: and Cardiff in Wales. And over, so that was announced
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: like Friday, I believe. So Saturday, he had just signed
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: a new UK boxer named Johnny Fisher. He was over
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: there promoting that fight. So just like in the UFC fights,
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: when the UFC fight's over, you don't hear from the
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: fighters right away. You hear from him. He sits down
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: at a table and he gets questions from MMA media.
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: The problem is the MMA media, they all kiss his ass.
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: Nobody asks him hard questions because if you do... you
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: get kicked out. You get your credential pulled and they
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: don't allow you to cover the sport anymore.
- 1:30:42Speaker 3: Because he's got the monopoly?
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:30:44Speaker 3: That type of.
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. Because that's the big... You know, there's no other...
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: I mean, PFL is there, but they're not even close
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: to being UFC. They don't have the brand name. So,
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: he sits down with... These are boxing reporters. They immediately
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: start asking him about... The report is that, you know,
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: the fight's been announced, Cardiff-Wales. And he's like, are you
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: the lead promoter of this fight? And he's like, have
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: I not answered this question 257,000 times? He starts getting
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: pissed off, dude. To which people, and you know, when
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: he gets pissed off at the UFC, they leave him alone.
- 1:31:22Speaker 4: Nope.
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: These reporters kept asking him, well, we're trying to figure
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: out what's going on. You said you knew the fight.
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: And remember back in June, he did say like, I
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: did the deal. I did this. I did that. So
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: then one reporter says, okay, so you said back in June, you,
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: You did the deal for the venue that you're the
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: lead promoter. He goes, did you do, so that was
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: when it was rumored to be New York. Did you
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: do the deal for Cardiff? And he goes, interesting question.
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: And he stays quiet for like 10 seconds. And he goes,
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: did I do the deal for Cardiff? Is that what
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: you're asking? Is that the question? They're like, yeah. And
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: he goes, no, I did not. And then he goes,
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: the reporter follows up with, who did? And he goes,
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: who gives a shit? Why does it matter? And the
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: reporter says, what matter to you, obviously? And then he
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: goes on. Eddie Hearn is the biggest liar there is.
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: He just starts deflecting, dude. And he got onto one
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: reporter and said, like, who the fuck are you, man?
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: I see what you're trying to do. You're trying to
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: get your moment. He goes, you don't know anything about boxing.
- 1:32:25Speaker 3: He sounds like he's starting to sound like the president.
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: Dude, so get this. Okay, so Tyson Fury has not
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: been allowed in the country since about, I want to
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: say 2022. And it's because he has, uh, his former
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: manager ended up being the head of the IRA, like
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: an Irish mob. And then, uh, he went on the lamb, right?
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: They caught the guy in Saudi about, I want to
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: say back in, back in April, I think it was. So, uh,
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: and Tyson Fury doesn't want to talk about him because
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: he did a, I think it was one of his
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: fights that he was promoting over there. And Sky Sports
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: tried to do an interview with, And they tried to
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: ask him about it.
- 1:33:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: And three questions in, he did not. He goes, I
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: don't know. And they said, well, he goes, your U.S.
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: promoter says that, yeah, he was your manager. He did
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: deals for you. Well, you ask him about it, not me.
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: So he got upset and said, I'm never talking to
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: Sky Sports again because you guys are. He doesn't want
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: to talk about that. He knew this guy. So that's
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: why he could not enter the country because of his,
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: he goes, his association with that guy. So when, remember
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: that UFC event at the White House?
- 1:33:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: Tyson Fury shows up out of nowhere. And everybody's like,
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: what the hell? This week he confirmed that Dana White
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: asked President Trump to lift his travel ban. And that's
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: why he's been all up that, yeah, Dana White should
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: be the promoter of this. Because he owes him. He
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: owes him. But yeah, it's insane, dude. Dana White is
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: such a child. I saw that he's now back doing
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: the MMA stuff. And So they had a press conference,
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: and he said, he goes, you'll see if I'm at
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: the press conference. It'll be a surprise. He's not at
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: the press conference. The British Boxing Board of Control, they
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: announced who the promoter is. He's not the promoter. When
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: Turkey Al-Ashiq at the press conference said, my brother who's
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: not here, Dana White, all the British people booed him
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: as soon as he mentioned them. Eddie Hearn was laughing.
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: It's funny that everybody's like, it was just really funny
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: to me that this guy who's, I'm this, I'm this
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: and that, And then now that he's not, he's trying
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: to spin it. Yeah. That was always the plan. He said,
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: I'm still going to be there. I'm still going to
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: be producing the show.
- 1:34:41Speaker 3: Watch.
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: You'll just see.
- 1:34:43Speaker 3: Yeah, that's crazy.
- 1:34:44Speaker 1: And it's just funny to me, dude, that that's the
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: way this guy works. Like, he's trying to take over boxing.
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: He's not.
- 1:34:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:34:51Speaker 3: And then we got Canelo fighting in 31st.
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: I mean, Billy, yeah. There was talk about... Because he's
- 1:34:59Speaker 1: supposed to be fighting in Saudi. They just announced it
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: in Saudi.
- 1:35:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: There was a talk for a long time that they
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: might be moving it because of the war over there.
- 1:35:04Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: Because apparently there were some drone strikes in Saudi Arabia.
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: So they're thinking, but apparently it's all head on, dude.
- 1:35:12Speaker 3: Yeah. I just started seeing, and I was like thinking,
- 1:35:15Speaker 3: I'm like, oh, he didn't fight in May. Was he
- 1:35:18Speaker 3: taking a whole year off?
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: No, he had a surgery. So he had to take
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: May off.
- 1:35:22Speaker 3: And I just started seeing him, like the videos of him,
- 1:35:25Speaker 3: like prepping. I was like, oh shit.
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: He was supposed to fight. september 19th but uh turkey
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: al-ashik who's funding his fight asked him hey man can
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: you move it off because he he was funding the
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: ryan garcia connor ben fight so he's like i want
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: to do it that weekend so can we do it
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: and canelo asked yes all right well i'm not fighting
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: over there i'm fighting on saudi so yeah i guess
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: there it is but yeah it's gonna be a good
- 1:35:49Speaker 1: fight i think see how.
- 1:35:50Speaker 3: Can i i don't know i don't know anything about.
- 1:35:53Speaker 1: That guy he's good uh he just hasn't fought anybody
- 1:35:57Speaker 1: okay From what I've seen, he's knocked guys out. The
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: only guy he's fought that's considered okay, they went in
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: a draw. To who? Some guy named Lester Martinez. It
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: was a draw. A lot of people thought Martinez won.
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: He's a good fighter. I don't think he's on the
- 1:36:20Speaker 1: level of Canelo. If Canelo loses him, that means Canelo
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: lost a step.
- 1:36:24Speaker 3: I saw something where Apparently, Canelo wants his last fight
- 1:36:28Speaker 3: to be at Estadio Azteca.
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: Yeah, he said that. But everybody's like, well, why are
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: you doing money with Turkey and this and that? A
- 1:36:35Speaker 1: lot of Mexicanos are mad that he's fighting over there,
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: that Saudi. They're like, I think for Turkey, Al-Sheikh, and
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: the Saudis, they want to like, okay, well, we got
- 1:36:44Speaker 1: this guy. Maybe we can get some Mexicans to spend
- 1:36:46Speaker 1: money over here. I don't know, man. You can't drink
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: over there. So Mexicans love to drink. We love to drink.
- 1:36:53Speaker 4: Yeah, we do.
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: That'll do it for us this episode. Hope you've enjoyed it.
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: Next week, hopefully the Yankees don't commandeer our time slots.
- 1:37:07Speaker 3: Well, we'll see. I think they play Saturday, Sunday, off Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: Maybe we can do a Monday night show.
- 1:37:15Speaker 3: Maybe. During Monday night football.
- 1:37:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I hope you guys have enjoyed it. Once again,
