Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: The Rush Hour with James Golden, entertaining and informative.
- 0:04Speaker 2: On the Red Apple Podcast Network.
- 0:08Speaker 3: In the attempt, we used our vehicles to block him in. Mr.
- 0:11Speaker 3: Bergall refused lawful orders to exit his vehicle. He then
- 0:15Speaker 3: accelerated his vehicle, smashing into two of our government ICE vehicles.
- 0:22Speaker 3: and then weaponized his vehicle and proceeded to accelerate going
- 0:27Speaker 3: towards other officers. Our officers, using their training and believing
- 0:33Speaker 3: that their life and the life of the partners in
- 0:36Speaker 3: the general public were in danger, used their training and
- 0:39Speaker 3: fired weapons. Mr. Bergall was struck by one of the
- 0:46Speaker 3: bullets or fragments superficially in the neck. He stopped his vehicle.
- 0:52Speaker 3: We arrested him, rendered first aid, and then took him
- 0:55Speaker 3: to the hospital. Because of Mr. Bergall's lengthy criminal history
- 1:03Speaker 3: and known fleeing, we placed him in a detention facility
- 1:08Speaker 3: outside of the state of New York.
- 1:10Speaker 4: Good.
- 1:11Speaker 3: We will continue to prosecute this individual to the fullest.
- 1:19Speaker 3: We will continue to place him in removal proceedings, and
- 1:24Speaker 3: we will continue to try to remove him from this
- 1:26Speaker 3: country as quickly as possible following his charges.
- 1:29Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 1:30Speaker 6: Thank you very much. I appreciate that. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:36Speaker 4: I want to reiterate a bunch of things about this,
- 1:38Speaker 4: and I will. Welcome to the Friday edition. I can't
- 1:41Speaker 4: believe it's already Friday again, edition of Buster Lee's Rush Hour,
- 1:45Speaker 4: the fastest hour in American media, the fastest week in
- 1:49Speaker 4: American media. Boy, these weeks just fly by fast. And,
- 1:53Speaker 4: of course, outrage in New York, complete and utter outrage
- 1:58Speaker 4: over the fact that a criminal that they had and
- 2:01Speaker 4: let walk the streets, who then tried to ram ICE
- 2:07Speaker 4: agents with his vehicle, outrage on the part of the mayor,
- 2:11Speaker 4: outrage on the part of the Bronx Borough President, outrage
- 2:15Speaker 4: on the incompetent governor of the state, Kathy Hochul, outrage
- 2:21Speaker 4: that this man has been apprehended by ICE with a
- 2:25Speaker 4: five-year-old boy in the car. And, oh, we're going to
- 2:27Speaker 4: get into that, too, because they keep going on. And
- 2:29Speaker 4: fake conservatives or former conservatives like this Scarborough character.
- 2:35Speaker 6: Just outraged.
- 2:37Speaker 4: Outrage. How dare you apprehend a criminal in New York?
- 2:40Speaker 4: You're not supposed to apprehend criminals in New York if
- 2:43Speaker 4: they're illegal aliens. You're only supposed to apprehend the black
- 2:47Speaker 4: and brown criminals in New York if they happen to
- 2:50Speaker 4: be American citizens. You're not supposed to touch illegal criminals
- 2:54Speaker 4: in New York. Only the American citizens. If you get
- 2:58Speaker 4: a white criminal in New York, you get bonus points.
- 3:01Speaker 4: But if you're going after an illegal immigrant, well, hell no.
- 3:04Speaker 4: Leave the immigrants alone. Leave the illegal immigrants alone. We
- 3:09Speaker 4: will get into that. There's outrage on all corners. You
- 3:13Speaker 4: want to know what set off an international outrage? Let's
- 3:17Speaker 4: just jump into it. Carlos got one. And I'm using
- 3:21Speaker 4: the overseas reporting on.
- 3:22Speaker 6: This because.
- 3:26Speaker 4: You can hear the shock. Almost, and you can hear
- 3:29Speaker 4: the shock almost as she's reporting it.
- 3:32Speaker 6: Cut one, let's just play it.
- 3:34Speaker 7: From the United States. Now, Defense Secretary Pete Hexer has
- 3:39Speaker 7: said that the public would be able to watch the
- 3:41Speaker 7: firing squad execution of a former U.S. Army officer convicted
- 3:46Speaker 7: of a mass shooting at Fort Hood Airport. in Texas. Now,
- 3:50Speaker 7: the person in question is Nidal Hassan, former Army major,
- 3:55Speaker 7: who opened fire at the Fort Hood base on November
- 3:57Speaker 7: the 5th, 2009, killing 13 people and wounding 32. And
- 4:03Speaker 7: now Pete Hexner has said that the public would be
- 4:06Speaker 7: able to watch His execution, which would be by firing squad,
- 4:10Speaker 7: the execution would be carried out on December 3rd of
- 4:13Speaker 7: this year. And Hegseth goes on to say he's going
- 4:17Speaker 7: to get a firing squad of soldiers. We'll make sure
- 4:19Speaker 7: that people are able to watch it. That is the public,
- 4:23Speaker 7: because people need to understand that there are serious consequences
- 4:27Speaker 7: for these types of things.
- 4:31Speaker 5: These types of things, you know, where you have a
- 4:35Speaker 5: terrorist who's in the army who decides to kill 13
- 4:39Speaker 5: people and injure 30. These types of things.
- 4:44Speaker 6: Hexeth. Hexeth says that people are going to be able
- 4:47Speaker 6: to watch it. I mean, how intolerable is this? People
- 4:51Speaker 6: are going to be able to watch it.
- 4:55Speaker 3: Uh.
- 4:55Speaker 4: Do you remember the guy, Andrew, Judge Andrew Napolitano? I
- 4:59Speaker 4: think this guy, I'd have to do a scorecard list.
- 5:02Speaker 4: I think he was wrong on so many things. I
- 5:04Speaker 4: used to watch stuff, and after a while I noticed,
- 5:07Speaker 4: whatever this guy said, I would kind of start going
- 5:11Speaker 4: in the opposite way, thinking of what's going to happen
- 5:14Speaker 4: at times. Anyway, he was on another news network, and
- 5:18Speaker 4: he raised questions about the whole thing with Nadal's execution.
- 5:23Speaker 6: Cut to, here he is. Go ahead.
- 5:25Speaker 8: Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announcing that the execution of
- 5:27Speaker 8: the Fort Hood shooter Nadal Hassan will be streamed live
- 5:32Speaker 8: for the world to see on December 3rd.
- 5:34Speaker 9: Judge, there's a lot going on here.
- 5:36Speaker 8: This suspect was moved from Fort Leavenworth to Fort Hood
- 5:40Speaker 8: for a public execution, held in the public, live streamed at.
- 5:45Speaker 2: One o'clock in the afternoon.
- 5:47Speaker 10: Is all of this enough to say this is unusual?
- 5:50Speaker 3: It may not be cruel, but it's definitely unusual.
- 5:52Speaker 8: Well, it's certainly unusual, and it's probably unlawful since federal law.
- 5:59Speaker 2: Prohibits the broadcast of killings.
- 6:03Speaker 8: This is a statue that was written back in the 70s.
- 6:06Speaker 8: You may remember this. You may be too young to
- 6:08Speaker 8: remember it. Snuff films from the 70s where people were
- 6:13Speaker 8: filmed brutally attacking others who consented to the attack. It
- 6:19Speaker 8: was an outrage. Congress prohibited it. The wording of the
- 6:23Speaker 8: statute arguably prohibits the broadcast of any act of violence.
- 6:28Speaker 8: You can broadcast simulated violence like in a movie, but
- 6:32Speaker 8: you can't broadcast an actual killing. The problem is that
- 6:35Speaker 8: Hassan doesn't have a lawyer. This case went all the
- 6:38Speaker 8: way to the Supreme Court of the United States. With
- 6:40Speaker 8: him acting as a lawyer, all of his appeals were denied. Look,
- 6:44Speaker 8: his conviction is valid. His sentence is absolutely valid. The
- 6:49Speaker 8: question is, do we want to make a public spectacle
- 6:52Speaker 8: out of it? And if we do, does that rise
- 6:54Speaker 8: to the level of cruel and unusual?
- 6:58Speaker 6: Really? Cruel and unusual? Yeah, okay.
- 7:00Speaker 11: Well.
- 7:04Speaker 6: Okay, President Trump, cut three.
- 7:07Speaker 4: This is quick, ladies and gentlemen, and then we're going
- 7:09Speaker 4: to move on to some other things besides this.
- 7:11Speaker 12: In fact, we're giving a man the death penalty who
- 7:13Speaker 12: killed 14 soldiers a couple of years ago. Death penalty
- 7:22Speaker 12: through firing squad, and he deserves it. Killed and wounded many,
- 7:27Speaker 12: many people, a maniac.
- 7:29Speaker 4: Yeah, wounded about 30 people. And so now, uh, apparently
- 7:35Speaker 4: new stories are out today. JD Vance is saying he
- 7:37Speaker 4: wouldn't watch it. And he's a little bit squeamish. I
- 7:40Speaker 4: have to tell you, just to be totally frank and
- 7:42Speaker 4: honest with you. When I first heard the news, I was, uh,
- 7:46Speaker 4: shocked that, that, and, and I wouldn't watch it either. However,
- 7:54Speaker 4: that doesn't mean that I'm necessarily opposed. I don't know.
- 7:59Speaker 4: I have mixed feelings about it. I mean, I have
- 8:02Speaker 4: mixed feelings about it. I'm not necessarily opposed to it
- 8:07Speaker 4: being live streamed. It's not something that I want to
- 8:10Speaker 4: personally watch. I'll read about it. I don't want to
- 8:14Speaker 4: watch executions. I don't want to watch anybody being executed,
- 8:18Speaker 4: but it doesn't mean that they shouldn't be because I
- 8:22Speaker 4: don't want to watch. It doesn't mean that they shouldn't
- 8:25Speaker 4: be seen. I suppose is my point of view. Okay.
- 8:29Speaker 4: Speaking of executions, Cut three. We will get to the
- 8:38Speaker 4: Mondami stuff. I'm just saving my powder on this. When
- 8:41Speaker 4: we played it at the top, this Mondami stuff is outrageous.
- 8:46Speaker 4: And Kathy Hochul, I'll tell you, if there is a reason,
- 8:49Speaker 4: if you, the campaign for governor in New York has
- 8:53Speaker 4: not received a heck of a lot of attention around
- 8:55Speaker 4: the nation. I think the consensus is, oh, Hochul's going
- 8:58Speaker 4: to win. It's New York. If Hochul, she's a disgrace.
- 9:06Speaker 4: And both she and Mondami, to me, this is unforgivable.
- 9:12Speaker 4: Their reaction to what ICE has done. And then you
- 9:16Speaker 4: have this lunatic, I'm not going to be able to
- 9:18Speaker 4: get to this today, a lunatic statement. I'm not calling
- 9:22Speaker 4: the woman herself a lunatic. I don't know her. But
- 9:25Speaker 4: one of the more lunatic statements I've heard is from
- 9:28Speaker 4: the Bronx Borough President filled with profanities about getting ICE
- 9:32Speaker 4: the F out of town and all the rest of it.
- 9:35Speaker 6: But anyway, we'll get to that. Speaking of executions, cut three.
- 9:43Speaker 4: This is Cameron Sexton. He was on News Nation with Cuomo.
- 9:50Speaker 4: He's done Tennessee. Yeah, cut four. Here he is.
- 10:00Speaker 13: A coma and whatever happened to her by failing to
- 10:03Speaker 13: execute her twice could qualify as cruel and unusual?
- 10:10Speaker 11: Well, there wasn't an execution twice. What there is is
- 10:14Speaker 11: the process and procedure of when you do the lethal injection.
- 10:18Speaker 11: If the first injection does not work, then they authorize
- 10:21Speaker 11: a second injection. So it was still the same execution.
- 10:24Speaker 11: It wasn't two executions. It's the same process under the
- 10:27Speaker 11: first execution. But no, I do not find that cruel
- 10:30Speaker 11: and unusual punishment to take her back and execute her
- 10:36Speaker 11: through lethal injection.
- 10:38Speaker 13: Are you open to changing the law about the death
- 10:42Speaker 13: penalty in your state in any way?
- 10:46Speaker 6: Yes, we are.
- 10:46Speaker 11: Look, I think 30 years of appeals is way too long.
- 10:50Speaker 11: I think the families are waiting too long. I don't
- 10:52Speaker 11: think that's swift and efficient. We need to figure out
- 10:55Speaker 11: how to speed up that process. 30 years is way
- 10:58Speaker 11: too long. 20 years is way too long. At the
- 11:00Speaker 11: same time, we need to look at different methods. Other
- 11:03Speaker 11: states have different options. We're going to investigate what some
- 11:05Speaker 11: of those options are and other methods and see if
- 11:08Speaker 11: we need to change. Maybe we do away with lethal injection.
- 11:10Speaker 11: Maybe we keep lethal injection. But we need to look
- 11:12Speaker 11: at all alternatives as we move forward.
- 11:16Speaker 13: Does it impress you that America is the only one
- 11:19Speaker 13: among its developed peer country partners that has the death penalty?
- 11:24Speaker 6: What do you think that says?
- 11:27Speaker 11: Well, that's what we do. But would you rather do
- 11:31Speaker 11: what some other countries do? And when you still chop
- 11:33Speaker 11: off a finger, chop off a wrist? I mean, they
- 11:36Speaker 11: have punishments as well that are very severe. You might
- 11:39Speaker 11: look at those and say, I don't agree with those.
- 11:42Speaker 11: But we do have the death sentence for very heinous crimes.
- 11:47Speaker 11: Not everybody who murders get the death sentence. Most of
- 11:50Speaker 11: them get life imprisonment or life without parole. But there
- 11:53Speaker 11: are some instances where they do get.
- 11:55Speaker 6: The death penalty.
- 11:58Speaker 13: I'm saying that I don't compare America to Afghanistan. I
- 12:04Speaker 13: would compare it to Europe and other developed places that
- 12:07Speaker 13: don't practice savagery. So I don't accept the analogy that
- 12:12Speaker 13: you put out there, sir, because, no, I don't want
- 12:15Speaker 13: to be like Afghanistan. I just don't want to be
- 12:18Speaker 13: the only country. That isn't considering this as our European
- 12:23Speaker 13: peers have.
- 12:24Speaker 3: Why do you think.
- 12:25Speaker 2: You said, well, this is what we do?
- 12:27Speaker 13: I know we used to not allow interracial marriage and
- 12:31Speaker 13: a lot of other things.
- 12:32Speaker 6: You change over time.
- 12:33Speaker 3: You can evolve.
- 12:34Speaker 13: Do you think it's time for us to consider evolving
- 12:36Speaker 13: whether or not we should have the right to kill
- 12:39Speaker 13: another human being?
- 12:42Speaker 11: Well, the sentence is imposed. What they did is murder somebody.
- 12:46Speaker 11: We're carrying out an execution.
- 12:48Speaker 6: And no, I don't.
- 12:50Speaker 11: I do not think that America should change or Tennessee
- 12:52Speaker 11: should change. The states have the power not to do that.
- 12:55Speaker 11: So it's a state's right issue. If a state does
- 12:58Speaker 11: not want to have the death penalty, the federal government
- 13:00Speaker 11: doesn't force them to have it. So it's in state control.
- 13:03Speaker 11: In the state of Tennessee, I can tell you it's
- 13:06Speaker 11: a bipartisan issue. Over 85% of Tennesseans, Republicans, Democrats, and
- 13:10Speaker 11: Independents want to have the death penalty.
- 13:15Speaker 6: Okay. Unbelievable.
- 13:18Speaker 4: The Europeans. I don't want to be like those Afghans.
- 13:23Speaker 4: Who else don't you want to be like, Chris? But
- 13:25Speaker 4: the Europeans, our peers. So get what he's saying. The
- 13:31Speaker 4: Europeans are our peers. Everyone else in the world is
- 13:35Speaker 4: not his peer. The Europeans are his peers. There's a
- 13:44Speaker 4: hint of something in that. And then he goes right with, well,
- 13:48Speaker 4: you know, they didn't used to interracial. We ain't going
- 13:50Speaker 4: to bring in race into this, Chris. What's in the
- 13:53Speaker 4: back of this in your mind, Chris Cuomo? James Golden Sterling.
- 13:56Speaker 6: We'll be right back. Fastest Hour on American Media continues.
- 13:59Speaker 1: The Rush Hour with James Golden. Entertaining and informative.
- 14:03Speaker 2: On the Red Apple Podcast Network.
- 14:11Speaker 6: My friends, I have very influential friends.
- 14:15Speaker 4: And very knowledgeable people in the media that absolutely listened
- 14:19Speaker 4: to this show from time to time. And some of
- 14:21Speaker 4: them are among the greatest minds in the world of
- 14:25Speaker 4: American media. One such person, and I'm not going to
- 14:28Speaker 4: mention his name. He didn't give me permission to do that,
- 14:30Speaker 4: but he's won. He's the winner of multiple, multiple, multiple
- 14:34Speaker 4: Emmy awards. He's one of these people that's been behind
- 14:37Speaker 4: some of the biggest broadcasts, not just in America, but
- 14:41Speaker 4: in the world. He's an amazing broadcaster. He's a legend
- 14:46Speaker 4: in the broadcast industry. And he is recognized as a
- 14:50Speaker 4: legend in the broadcast industry. He happens to be a
- 14:53Speaker 4: good friend of mine.
- 14:54Speaker 6: He said, Mr.
- 14:55Speaker 4: Gowlin, you're totally wrong on the point that you raised.
- 14:59Speaker 4: The broadcast of these executions is totally 100% unequivocally wrong.
- 15:06Speaker 4: It doesn't feel anything but people's emotional mind vengeance. That
- 15:12Speaker 4: is amazing phrase. Emotional mind vengeance. And what it will
- 15:20Speaker 4: do is start more violence. Again, remember the heads being
- 15:24Speaker 4: cut off of Americans? This serves no smart purpose. There's
- 15:29Speaker 4: no evidence that proves this sort of thing fixes anything.
- 15:33Speaker 4: We're creating martyrs. This is a very dangerous subject. Well,
- 15:39Speaker 4: I'm going to raise this subject because it's in the news.
- 15:42Speaker 4: And as I said to you, I don't want to
- 15:44Speaker 4: watch anybody's execution.
- 15:47Speaker 6: I don't.
- 15:49Speaker 4: It is something, the idea of it turns my stomach.
- 15:56Speaker 4: I wonder what people say. I want to have a
- 15:58Speaker 4: broader discussion about this tomorrow on the Saturday show, and
- 16:02Speaker 4: we have time to take a few calls. I find
- 16:05Speaker 4: even the public executions that we used to have, the
- 16:07Speaker 4: depiction of them are too grisly for me to watch,
- 16:12Speaker 4: especially in the past, what happened in the history of mankind.
- 16:16Speaker 6: We'll be back, folks. Don't go away.
- 16:18Speaker 1: The Rush Hour with James Golden. Entertaining and informative.
- 16:22Speaker 2: On the Red Apple Podcast Network.
- 16:29Speaker 6: But ICE is rotten to its core.
- 16:31Speaker 14: Today's shooting is only further devastating confirmation of what we
- 16:35Speaker 14: have long known, which is that ICE operates with impunity,
- 16:39Speaker 14: that they sow chaos and terror across our country, that
- 16:43Speaker 14: they have killed far more of our neighbors than they
- 16:45Speaker 14: could ever have claimed to save.
- 16:47Speaker 6: This city wants ICE out. All they do is terrorize
- 16:51Speaker 6: this city.
- 16:53Speaker 15: ICE says the incident happened during a targeted operation where
- 16:57Speaker 15: agents surrounded the car of the 28-year-old from Dominican Republic.
- 17:01Speaker 15: Shots were fired during the attempted arrest, injuring the man.
- 17:04Speaker 12: So DHS says the illegal immigrant has a criminal record
- 17:08Speaker 12: and ties to the violent Trinitarios gang over in Venezuela.
- 17:12Speaker 9: We spoke to the Republican candidate for New York Attorney
- 17:15Speaker 9: General who says it's the current system that allowed for
- 17:18Speaker 9: the illegal migrant to be out of jail despite his
- 17:21Speaker 9: past crimes.
- 17:21Speaker 15: Sanctuary City.
- 17:23Speaker 1: And blamed those policies on her opponent, Letitia James.
- 17:28Speaker 6: Our system in New York, it's broken.
- 17:30Speaker 16: We used to have laws in New York where they
- 17:32Speaker 16: would be held instead of released. But then bail reform
- 17:36Speaker 16: came along, and that was Letitia James who championed bail reform.
- 17:40Speaker 16: You would take the people who came out of state
- 17:42Speaker 16: jail and hand them over to federal officials at the
- 17:46Speaker 16: jailhouse door. No one had to go into any neighborhoods.
- 17:50Speaker 16: But that also changed because Letitia James sued to change it.
- 17:54Speaker 16: No one really wants to see these enforcement operations happen
- 17:57Speaker 16: in communities when they could happen safely at the jailhouse door.
- 18:03Speaker 4: Yeah, well, some people want to see it because it's
- 18:06Speaker 4: good for their politics. All right, let's get to this,
- 18:11Speaker 4: ladies and gentlemen. Oh, by the way, I've had a response.
- 18:14Speaker 4: Lady Benedict, uh, responded to the point that was made
- 18:20Speaker 4: from our esteemed member of the media. She says, I
- 18:23Speaker 4: think this public, if Hegseth is right, she says she
- 18:28Speaker 4: thinks this would show consequences. There is no sanctity for
- 18:33Speaker 4: life right now in this society. Kids play video games,
- 18:37Speaker 4: they get desensitized. Maybe, maybe they ought to see what
- 18:42Speaker 4: it really looks like, what the consequences are. If they
- 18:47Speaker 4: engage in heinous crimes. We'll move this discussion. Carlos, you're
- 18:51Speaker 4: shaking your head. Just tell me why you're shaking your head, Carlos. Sure,
- 18:56Speaker 4: they can do whatever.
- 18:57Speaker 17: I don't think the whole public showing is going to
- 19:02Speaker 17: be good. Because going back to the hanging of Saddam,
- 19:07Speaker 17: there were a lot of replications, a lot of kids.
- 19:11Speaker 17: And some of them, unfortunately, they died because it was
- 19:15Speaker 17: a hanging.
- 19:16Speaker 6: Pretty much. So, I'm not a big fan of them showing.
- 19:20Speaker 17: They can do whatever they want, but I'm not a
- 19:22Speaker 17: fan of the public show.
- 19:23Speaker 4: Let me tell you something. I mentioned this before the break,
- 19:26Speaker 4: and I'm going to say it again. When I was
- 19:28Speaker 4: a young kid, I could watch a lot of stuff.
- 19:31Speaker 4: And as I got older and I realized, the more
- 19:34Speaker 4: I thought about and realized how precious, what a precious
- 19:37Speaker 4: gift life is. Especially life in the human body. And
- 19:44Speaker 4: all life is precious to me, and you know, I'm
- 19:46Speaker 4: not trying to start a religious debate here with anybody,
- 19:50Speaker 4: but to me, all life stemmed, all life stems from
- 19:53Speaker 4: one place. We know that the creator. And so every
- 19:58Speaker 4: being on in the creation has a spark of life
- 20:04Speaker 4: from the creator. Some people define that as a soul. Okay,
- 20:11Speaker 4: let me just put that on the table, but say this.
- 20:16Speaker 4: The older I get and the more we close in
- 20:19Speaker 4: toward our own mortality, I think many of us start
- 20:23Speaker 4: to appreciate more how precious this gift of life really is.
- 20:30Speaker 4: And I noticed that even in my 20s, I started
- 20:35Speaker 4: to get squeamish about Watching depictions. I can't watch horror movies.
- 20:41Speaker 4: I can't watch stuff where it's like gory and I
- 20:45Speaker 4: can't watch it. It upsets my mental state. It affects
- 20:49Speaker 4: me emotionally. I cannot watch that stuff. Even scenes in
- 20:55Speaker 4: movies that I like. If it gets too gory, I
- 20:57Speaker 4: have to turn my head away. I cannot watch that stuff.
- 21:02Speaker 4: So that's where I come from. And I think if
- 21:06Speaker 4: you look at this inhumanity There are depictions of what,
- 21:11Speaker 4: if you look at the horror that human beings have
- 21:14Speaker 4: inflicted on other human beings, you can go through the
- 21:17Speaker 4: horrors that happened in the Spanish Inquisition. You can go
- 21:20Speaker 4: through the horrors that happened. You look at, to me,
- 21:25Speaker 4: this business of draw and quarter, which hang, draw, and quarter.
- 21:31Speaker 4: It is so ghoulish and so horrific. that even depictions
- 21:35Speaker 4: of it I cannot bear, I cannot tolerate it. So
- 21:41Speaker 4: I'm going to open this up for discussion again tomorrow,
- 21:44Speaker 4: and I'd like to thank those of you who responded.
- 21:46Speaker 4: But I also agree, Lady Benedict said something about the
- 21:49Speaker 4: sanctity of life and about the desensitization that we have
- 21:55Speaker 4: for it. And that's something else that I want to
- 21:58Speaker 4: talk about. You know, people get upset with this. And
- 22:04Speaker 4: yet when you start talking about millions of people over
- 22:08Speaker 4: the years that have died inside the womb, in some
- 22:13Speaker 4: cases when they could have lived outside the womb, then
- 22:16Speaker 4: all of a sudden the argument turns. You don't get
- 22:18Speaker 4: the same sort of attention because then we start talking
- 22:25Speaker 4: about people's right to choose who lives and who dies.
- 22:31Speaker 6: So I'll just put that out there.
- 22:33Speaker 4: Now, I want to get to this New York business
- 22:35Speaker 4: because to me, this is one of the most egregious
- 22:37Speaker 4: things I've heard. Let's go back to the Mondami. Let's
- 22:42Speaker 4: listen to as much of it as we can all tolerate. Together,
- 22:45Speaker 4: cut 17. This is the mayor of New York, Zoran Mondami,
- 22:49Speaker 4: after this incident yesterday.
- 22:51Speaker 10: When ICE agents opened fire, a five-year-old child, a five-year-old
- 22:56Speaker 10: child was in the backseat of the car.
- 22:59Speaker 6: Thank God.
- 23:01Speaker 10: That child is physically unharmed. For the past two hours,
- 23:06Speaker 10: I have been on the phone with President Trump and
- 23:09Speaker 10: Secretary Mullen, negotiating the release of the man ICE agents shot.
- 23:15Speaker 10: Those negotiations were unsuccessful. Just moments ago, ICE put the
- 23:21Speaker 10: man in an unmarked vehicle and whisked him away.
- 23:24Speaker 6: Good. Let me say this plainly.
- 23:27Speaker 10: What happened today was an outrage Tonight, a five-year-old child
- 23:33Speaker 10: sits traumatized and terrified. Tonight, millions of our neighbors are
- 23:38Speaker 10: wondering whether they will be safe on our streets, in our.
- 23:42Speaker 6: Schools, at their work sites.
- 23:44Speaker 10: Tonight, New Yorkers across the five boroughs are asking whether
- 23:47Speaker 10: their civil liberties will be respected, whether law and order
- 23:50Speaker 10: is supposed to look like a man carrying.
- 23:52Speaker 6: A long gun wearing a mask. We know that ICE
- 23:56Speaker 6: is rotten to its core.
- 23:58Speaker 10: Today's shooting is only further devastating confirmation of what we
- 24:02Speaker 10: have long known, which is that ICE operates with impunity,
- 24:06Speaker 10: that they sow chaos and terror across our country, that
- 24:10Speaker 10: they have killed far more of our neighbors than they
- 24:12Speaker 10: could ever have claimed to save. I also want to
- 24:16Speaker 10: say something on a personal note. I stand here not
- 24:19Speaker 10: just as the mayor of our city, but as someone
- 24:21Speaker 10: who is proud to be an immigrant in our city.
- 24:24Speaker 10: And I know that these kinds of raids, this kind
- 24:27Speaker 10: of terrorizing of this city leaves the three million immigrants
- 24:30Speaker 10: of this city asking if they are safe here, if
- 24:33Speaker 10: they belong here, if this too can be their home here.
- 24:37Speaker 10: We will not normalize ICE's viciousness. We will not accept
- 24:41Speaker 10: its cruelty. We know, and I have said this directly,
- 24:46Speaker 10: whether to the president or to the public, ICE undermines
- 24:50Speaker 10: public safety.
- 24:51Speaker 6: It makes us less safe.
- 24:54Speaker 10: New York City will not stand by while ICE agents
- 24:57Speaker 10: shoot New Yorkers. And we will not back down from
- 25:01Speaker 10: the demand that so many, including myself, have put forward
- 25:04Speaker 10: time and again. This is an agency that must be abolished.
- 25:09Speaker 6: Thank you.
- 25:10Speaker 10: With that, I am now going to turn it over
- 25:12Speaker 10: to our police commissioner and fiscal commissioner.
- 25:14Speaker 6: All right, let me tell you something. This is outrageous.
- 25:16Speaker 4: What is outrageous is this heinous speech by a so-called
- 25:21Speaker 4: elected official.
- 25:22Speaker 6: Let's go through the points together. he went through, okay?
- 25:26Speaker 4: He went through two hours of negotiations to try to
- 25:29Speaker 4: release a criminal that New York City had already released.
- 25:33Speaker 6: As you heard earlier... As you heard earlier.
- 25:36Speaker 4: This man, Oscar Bilgao, the undocumented, which means illegal immigrant,
- 25:42Speaker 4: should not have been in the country in the first place,
- 25:44Speaker 4: was shot after he tried to use his car with
- 25:47Speaker 4: a five-year-old inside that ICE agents didn't know was inside.
- 25:52Speaker 4: They didn't know he had a five-year-old inside. But at
- 25:55Speaker 4: the same time, with a five-year-old inside his car, he
- 25:59Speaker 4: tried to use his car to ram law enforcement officials. Now,
- 26:04Speaker 4: if this guy was an illegal immigrant, Let's just say
- 26:08Speaker 4: he's your.
- 26:08Speaker 6: Gold-toothed bro with.
- 26:10Speaker 4: A bunch of dreads and with his underwear showing because
- 26:15Speaker 4: his pants are drooped down halfway down his ass. Would
- 26:19Speaker 4: anybody be standing up in City Hall talking about, and
- 26:24Speaker 4: he tried to ram a car at law enforcement, would
- 26:27Speaker 4: we even be having a discussion? Oh, hell no. Every
- 26:34Speaker 4: single day. Police all over this country arrest people that
- 26:42Speaker 4: have broken the law. And if you use your car
- 26:46Speaker 4: as a weapon, they will shoot your ass. Because they
- 26:51Speaker 4: have to try to go home to their families, which
- 26:54Speaker 4: is important to them. If New York hadn't let these
- 26:57Speaker 4: people out of jail and just followed the law... As
- 27:02Speaker 4: it used to be, which is, hey, let's just turn
- 27:04Speaker 4: him over, as you heard earlier.
- 27:06Speaker 6: He wouldn't have even been on the street.
- 27:07Speaker 4: But this is all to protect illegal immigrants, people who
- 27:11Speaker 4: already broke the law coming here, people who drain the
- 27:15Speaker 4: resources of this country because they are here illegally. And
- 27:20Speaker 4: when they're criminals, that doesn't matter. You have never heard
- 27:25Speaker 4: the mayor of New York call the president of the
- 27:27Speaker 4: United States. You haven't heard Kathy Hochul speak up to
- 27:30Speaker 4: the president of the United States or anybody in any
- 27:33Speaker 4: other agency when in Queens, when in the Bronx, when
- 27:37Speaker 4: in Brooklyn, Staten Island, anywhere, Manhattan, you have your regular
- 27:46Speaker 4: thug gangbangers who happen to usually be black or brown
- 27:50Speaker 4: picked up and arrested.
- 27:53Speaker 6: After they tried to do somebody, have you ever heard.
- 27:55Speaker 4: And they don't care whose neighborhood these people terrorize. They're
- 28:01Speaker 4: not going up terrorizing Mondami. These people that do robberies
- 28:06Speaker 4: like this guy did. This guy who has been accused
- 28:09Speaker 4: of selling fentanyl, heroin, cocaine to undercover narcs.
- 28:14Speaker 6: Fentanyl kills people.
- 28:15Speaker 4: Does he care about the people that get killed from
- 28:17Speaker 4: this stuff?
- 28:18Speaker 6: Fentanyl?
- 28:20Speaker 4: Does he care that law enforcement is trying to take
- 28:22Speaker 4: these people off the street? Does he care about the
- 28:25Speaker 4: people in the neighborhoods where this guy commits his criminal actions?
- 28:29Speaker 6: Not a damn.
- 28:30Speaker 4: Not one damn does he care about the people in
- 28:33Speaker 4: these communities who get hurt every day by these criminals.
- 28:37Speaker 6: The only thing that's on his mind is I hate ICE.
- 28:40Speaker 6: I hate Trump.
- 28:41Speaker 4: Get him off the streets and let me feed my tedious,
- 28:45Speaker 4: crazed election base.
- 28:47Speaker 6: And ignore the law.
- 28:48Speaker 4: And when these people terrorize neighborhood after neighborhoods, when they
- 28:52Speaker 4: turn once great neighborhoods in New York to hell holes,
- 28:56Speaker 4: the Mayor Mondani's not around.
- 28:58Speaker 6: Kathy Hochul doesn't give a SHI you.
- 29:00Speaker 4: Know what about what happens in these neighborhoods because she
- 29:04Speaker 4: and her friends don't live in these neighborhoods. You try
- 29:07Speaker 4: to get the criminals out of these neighborhoods.
- 29:09Speaker 6: And what do you get? You get the mayor of New.
- 29:11Speaker 4: York standing up for criminal gangbangers and calling law enforcement
- 29:16Speaker 4: a bunch of terrorists.
- 29:18Speaker 6: You, Mr.
- 29:19Speaker 4: Mondami, are a disgrace. You're a disgrace to the office
- 29:22Speaker 4: of mayor. You're a disgrace to New York City. You're
- 29:25Speaker 4: a disgrace to the idea that law is important.
- 29:30Speaker 6: You are a 100% total disgrace.
- 29:33Speaker 4: I find it hard to believe that somebody with your
- 29:36Speaker 4: political positions could actually even be elected to office. but
- 29:40Speaker 4: there you are, much to the detriment of New York
- 29:44Speaker 4: City and for the people who respect the law. You
- 29:47Speaker 4: are 100% a total losing disgrace to this city. We'll
- 29:53Speaker 4: be back. Don't go away. Clip of the day coming up.
- 29:58Speaker 4: Clip of the day is coming. Don't go away.
- 30:00Speaker 1: The Rush Hour with James Golden. Entertaining and informative.
- 30:05Speaker 2: On the Red Apple Podcast Network.
- 30:07Speaker 16: The clip of the day.
- 30:13Speaker 6: You want to hear it. It's the clip of the day.
- 30:21Speaker 4: And the clip of the day comes to us from
- 30:23Speaker 4: PMS Now. The guy that morning Joe show. Man, I'm
- 30:28Speaker 4: glad I don't have to have coffee with that show anymore.
- 30:32Speaker 6: Anyway, here he is.
- 30:33Speaker 9: With immigrants. twice in Minneapolis, killing Americans, killing immigrants in Maine,
- 30:41Speaker 9: killing immigrants in Houston, and now shooting into a car
- 30:46Speaker 9: in New York City.
- 30:47Speaker 6: You know what?
- 30:49Speaker 9: They may not know it, but ICE got lucky this time.
- 30:52Speaker 9: But luck is not a policy. And luck, Willie, is
- 30:57Speaker 9: not what those children... that are let out of school
- 31:04Speaker 9: at 4 p.m. in the afternoon and walking home with
- 31:07Speaker 9: their parents, that luck is not what they should be
- 31:09Speaker 9: able to depend on.
- 31:10Speaker 6: This whole idea about.
- 31:12Speaker 9: Immigration, we're going to make the streets safe from gangs.
- 31:17Speaker 6: Really? Really, why is it that.
- 31:20Speaker 9: These communities that they were supposedly supposed to protect, they're
- 31:23Speaker 9: actually scared of these ICE agents who act like thugs,
- 31:28Speaker 9: who aren't trained, who carry around guns and shoot wildly
- 31:33Speaker 9: into parked or move slowly moving cars.
- 31:36Speaker 3: It is beyond outrageous.
- 31:40Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, you just laid it out really well, Joe.
- 31:42Speaker 6: Imagine you're sitting in a car wherever you are.
- 31:44Speaker 4: Yeah, Joe, let me kiss your butt here for making
- 31:46Speaker 4: one of the most nonsensical statements ever said on television. Joe,
- 31:50Speaker 4: first of all, they weren't shooting wildly. Their car was rammed.
- 31:54Speaker 4: I remember when Joe Scarborough, I met him when he
- 31:57Speaker 4: first went up to Congress. I went to D.C. and
- 31:59Speaker 4: I met him with that group of incoming Congress. I
- 32:02Speaker 4: remember when he used to say he was a conservative.
- 32:05Speaker 4: I wonder if he even remembers what he used to
- 32:08Speaker 4: think back in the days when he was running for election,
- 32:12Speaker 4: telling people he was a conservative.
- 32:17Speaker 6: What?
- 32:19Speaker 4: Oh, man, let's leave peacefully. On this day in 1964,
- 32:25Speaker 4: my friends, the Beatles started a four-week run at number
- 32:28Speaker 4: one with the Paul McCartney ballad, one of the best
- 32:30Speaker 4: songs ever written in history. with yesterday also you know
- 32:38Speaker 4: on this day in 2008 paul mccartney who's been a
- 32:40Speaker 4: vegetarian for over 30 years was said to be furious
- 32:44Speaker 4: when he heard that a mcdonald's in london had uh
- 32:48Speaker 4: in liverpool had displayed his picture trying to he says
- 32:52Speaker 4: what sort of morons do mcdonald's think beetle fans are
- 32:55Speaker 4: they everybody knows he was a vegetarian also on this
- 32:59Speaker 4: day my friend's heavenly birthday for the other half of
- 33:01Speaker 4: that great songwriting team john lennon Born in 1940, heavenly
- 33:06Speaker 4: birthday today from Mr.
- 33:07Speaker 6: Lennon.
- 33:08Speaker 4: Musician, activist, one of the most prolific and successful songwriters
- 33:12Speaker 4: in history. What else is there to say but John Lennon?
- 33:19Speaker 4: Lennon and McCartney. May God bless, protect each and every
- 33:24Speaker 4: single one of you. Your families and your loved ones.
- 33:30Speaker 4: Love and gratitude always, my friends, for you being here
- 33:32Speaker 4: with me. allowing me to be with you, God willing.
- 33:38Speaker 4: We are back early in the morning at 7 a.m.
- 33:43Speaker 4: for the Saturday morning Extraordinary Games, and we hope that
- 33:46Speaker 4: you'll be here with us. Princess Diana very likely will
- 33:50Speaker 4: be on the program tomorrow as well.
- 33:52Speaker 6: Until then, I bid you adieu.
