- 0:21Speaker 2: Great stuff, and you got to watch his new podcast
- 0:25Speaker 2: it's called We'll Do It Live. Great episodes. The latest
- 0:28Speaker 2: one is Steve Sharippa. Make sure you see or listen
- 0:31Speaker 2: to the Bill O'Reilly podcast, Will Do It Live. Bill O'Reilly,
- 0:35Speaker 2: How you doing.
- 0:36Speaker 1: I'm busy just like you.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Mark, Hey, I love the podcast. Steve Sharipa. That's my
- 0:41Speaker 2: favorite episode. They're all good, but he's great.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Thank you. And we got Steve Kroft coming up on Thursday,
- 0:49Speaker 1: the Sixty Minutes. Steve Kroft, Yeah, that should be an
- 0:55Speaker 1: interesting conversation. He's an old time reporter, like I came
- 1:01Speaker 1: up the traditional way. He was Obama's go to guy.
- 1:07Speaker 1: You may remember on sixty Minutes. Knew all the legends,
- 1:12Speaker 1: Mike Wallace and Hewett and all those guys, and you
- 1:16Speaker 1: know CBS in the news now a lot of changes
- 1:19Speaker 1: going on. I'm looking forward to that chat.
- 1:22Speaker 2: You used to work there at CBS News, and back
- 1:24Speaker 2: then it was a kind of a rational, sane place,
- 1:27Speaker 2: wasn't it.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean it always intense. I worked for Channel
- 1:32Speaker 1: two for two years with Jim Jensen and Ron Smith
- 1:38Speaker 1: and Warner wool for all those guys, and then I
- 1:42Speaker 1: got promoted to the National news Dan Rather, who not
- 1:48Speaker 1: particularly fond of and covered the wars in Central America
- 1:53Speaker 1: and the Falklands, things like that. So I was busy there,
- 1:56Speaker 1: But it was I would say it was a traditional
- 2:03Speaker 1: place with problems.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Yeah, well but compared to today's CBS News a little
- 2:10Speaker 2: more normal. You think they'll ever get these networks back
- 2:13Speaker 2: to normal?
- 2:14Speaker 1: No, it's too expensive. You know. Back when I was there,
- 2:18Speaker 1: we used to whip around the world first class airfare
- 2:24Speaker 1: and best hotels and you were like James Bond. Now
- 2:29Speaker 1: it's Motel six and it is that Jet Blue on
- 2:34Speaker 1: time And the answer is no.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Well, but that's every business, that's most businesses.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, but when you were attasked to really
- 2:44Speaker 1: do an honest shop covering the news and you don't,
- 2:48Speaker 1: then there's a problem. And CBS has really gone down.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Now they try to bring it back, and I give
- 2:54Speaker 1: them credit for that. I don't know whether it will
- 2:57Speaker 1: work or not.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Now, Bill O'Reilly, the great historian, listeners calling in questions
- 3:02Speaker 2: for you. Ronald Reagan re election wins forty nine states, unbelievable.
- 3:06Speaker 2: But what was what was the most successful election ever?
- 3:10Speaker 2: Nobody ever won? Fifty? Did they?
- 3:13Speaker 1: Washington? Nobody dissented? Yeah, and he could have been King
- 3:20Speaker 1: of America talking about no kings, they could have been
- 3:25Speaker 1: Washington could have been the king. Boy, they loved him,
- 3:28Speaker 1: and rightly so. There were other landslides, but Reagan wiped
- 3:34Speaker 1: out Jimmy Carter because Carter was so inefficient on a
- 3:39Speaker 1: par with Joe Biden. You know, Biden was worse because
- 3:43Speaker 1: of the border. But boy, oh boy, they were both terrible,
- 3:48Speaker 1: and there's been a lot of terrible presidents, but these
- 3:50Speaker 1: two were really, really in the forefront of modern times.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Now, Bill, righty, would you give some advice to the
- 3:58Speaker 2: Democrats they want to go after Trump. The kids seem
- 4:00Speaker 2: to put their finger on what it is that's bothering them.
- 4:04Speaker 2: He's not a king. This no king's made no sense.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Well, that's the problem, because no King's demonstration was really
- 4:12Speaker 1: a no solutions demonstration, That's what it was. So we
- 4:17Speaker 1: don't like chop okay, I understand, and discent is fine,
- 4:22Speaker 1: and it's a strength of our country. We should be
- 4:28Speaker 1: able to protest and responsibly. But if you're gonna hate
- 4:33Speaker 1: the guy and think he's the worst, then what do
- 4:35Speaker 1: you have that's better? So the best example is that,
- 4:41Speaker 1: according to just about every nuclear expert in the world,
- 4:46Speaker 1: Iran was very close to enriching uranium to the level
- 4:50Speaker 1: where it could have manufactured a knew very quickly. Well,
- 4:54Speaker 1: what's the Democratic Party's solution to that? Nothing? Nothing? And
- 5:04Speaker 1: what's your solution to controlling immigration? We'll let them all in.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Give him amnesty. And that's Trump's strongest card going into
- 5:14Speaker 1: the midterms. So you may not like them, and you
- 5:17Speaker 1: may not support the Youran war, although if you don't
- 5:20Speaker 1: support it, you really should have a reason. Not just
- 5:23Speaker 1: I hate Trump Trump's war, but what are you replacing
- 5:29Speaker 1: Trump with? What is a Democratic Congress is going to deliver?
- 5:34Speaker 1: It's going to deliver higher taxes, It's going to try
- 5:37Speaker 1: to get amnesty for all the millions of a document
- 5:41Speaker 1: that people that are here, with some exceptions, but you
- 5:45Speaker 1: really have to be a miscreant for the Democrats that
- 5:49Speaker 1: turn on you. If you're an illegal alien, you really
- 5:52Speaker 1: got to be bad. So Trump is on, Okay, is
- 5:58Speaker 1: this what you want? And that's why the Democratic Party
- 6:02Speaker 1: really they think that they're gonna sweep. But I'm not
- 6:06Speaker 1: so sure about that.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Yeah, it's months and months and months where anything could happen. So, hey,
- 6:14Speaker 2: you're a Nasau County resident. Bruce Blakeman, great county executive.
- 6:18Speaker 2: He's coming up in the police, he's closing the gap
- 6:20Speaker 2: with Kathy Hokel. I think he's got a good chance.
- 6:23Speaker 2: What do you think?
- 6:24Speaker 1: Yeah? I do. He's got to get this funding thing,
- 6:28Speaker 1: and that'll go to federal court if they deny him
- 6:30Speaker 1: in Albany the funding because they did make a clerical error,
- 6:34Speaker 1: the Blakeman campaign did. But I don't think you can
- 6:40Speaker 1: alter an election financing an election for a clerical era
- 6:46Speaker 1: that has been corrected. And if the Democrats you know, so, no,
- 6:51Speaker 1: you're not getting any matching funds. I think has to
- 6:53Speaker 1: go to federal court and Blakeman will win. The problem
- 6:57Speaker 1: that Blakeman has is that people in the York don't
- 7:00Speaker 1: know him, and it's still to this day. I mean,
- 7:04Speaker 1: you go north of Duchess County, then people don't know
- 7:08Speaker 1: Bruce Blakeman, and he's got to buy that. He's got
- 7:11Speaker 1: to get on television and establish himself. The advantage he
- 7:15Speaker 1: has is Hopel because Hopel is now tied to Mandami
- 7:23Speaker 1: and she wants to get away from him, but she's
- 7:25Speaker 1: not going to be able to do that. And the
- 7:28Speaker 1: worst it gets in the city, the worse is going
- 7:30Speaker 1: to get for Hope.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Yeah, so Blakeman could be This could be a very
- 7:35Speaker 2: Pataki like race. We didn't know him either, but he
- 7:38Speaker 2: just looked more genuine, more authentic, and people loved him
- 7:43Speaker 2: as they got to know him. So I could see
- 7:44Speaker 2: that happening here.
- 7:45Speaker 1: What do you think, Well, it just depends on New
- 7:48Speaker 1: york as tolerance for pain. You know how much pain
- 7:52Speaker 1: do we have to experience here with this Democratic one
- 7:57Speaker 1: party leadership? And know people are fleeing. Everybody knows that
- 8:02Speaker 1: the big money is going to south. The budget deficit
- 8:06Speaker 1: is insane. Mandami is confused, He's thirty four years old.
- 8:11Speaker 1: He can't run the city. It's going to get worse
- 8:13Speaker 1: and worse and worse. He making every mistake you could
- 8:18Speaker 1: possibly make he's allying himself with the most radical elements.
- 8:21Speaker 1: He himself is a communist and he is. You know,
- 8:25Speaker 1: all you have to do is look at the estate
- 8:27Speaker 1: tax and what he wants to take away from hard
- 8:29Speaker 1: working Americans who save their money and want to pass
- 8:32Speaker 1: it along to their family, to their heiress. He wants
- 8:35Speaker 1: to take it all. Nomin wants to take it all. Yeah,
- 8:41Speaker 1: that's communism. And so the people of New York State,
- 8:48Speaker 1: a lot of them are distracted, a lot of them
- 8:50Speaker 1: are poor, and they want the handouts above all else.
- 8:54Speaker 1: And I don't mean to diminish four people, but come on,
- 8:58Speaker 1: we all know what's going on there. And how much
- 9:02Speaker 1: pain do you want to absorb? And you know, I
- 9:06Speaker 1: hate going into that city now I used to love it.
- 9:10Speaker 1: I got to go tomorrow into the city. You know,
- 9:12Speaker 1: it's dirty. I don't feel threatened. I mean, you know,
- 9:16Speaker 1: when I'm walking around, but I'm not walking around late
- 9:19Speaker 1: at night. But there's marijuana smoke on every block. You know,
- 9:24Speaker 1: kids got to look at these indignities of people on
- 9:27Speaker 1: the street doing all this crazy stuff. It's gonna get worse.
- 9:32Speaker 1: So that's the key question in November. How much pain
- 9:36Speaker 1: do you want to absorb to keep the democratic structure
- 9:39Speaker 1: in place.
- 9:41Speaker 2: Well, Hey, the Trump Presidential Library, it has been announced
- 9:45Speaker 2: it'll be Miami. If this were ten years ago, whenn't
- 9:49Speaker 2: you think he want that library in New York. But
- 9:51Speaker 2: now he can't do it because of the crazy left
- 9:53Speaker 2: wing controlling Yeah.
- 9:55Speaker 1: If he does it will be indicted for whatever whatever
- 10:00Speaker 1: it may be. He got five exits and you need eight.
- 10:04Speaker 1: So it's taken in the federal court. Look, Donald Trump
- 10:09Speaker 1: epitomizes New York. He epitomized this the swagger of the city.
- 10:14Speaker 1: I wrote a book called the United States a Trump
- 10:16Speaker 1: that demonstrated how he did what he did as far
- 10:20Speaker 1: as building himself up into this unbelievable real estate colossus
- 10:24Speaker 1: when his father didn't want any part of it. The
- 10:28Speaker 1: guy is a quintessential New Yorker and now he can't
- 10:31Speaker 1: come here. Yeah, there's something wrong about that.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Hey, even though I read in California there's an exodus
- 10:38Speaker 2: from there, biggest dropping population have experienced in many, many years.
- 10:43Speaker 2: So I assume we can blame Gavin Newsom for that. Correct.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Well, I did a specialist week on San Francisco in
- 10:50Speaker 1: the collapse of it. It's on Bill O'Reilly dot com.
- 10:54Speaker 1: It's harrowing, absolutely harrowing, and it's mirrored on La La
- 11:01Speaker 1: County is not quite as bad as San Francisco yet,
- 11:04Speaker 1: because San Francisco is a smaller situation than a forty
- 11:08Speaker 1: thousand drug addict substance abusers running around causing all kinds
- 11:14Speaker 1: of problems. They're in a certain area, so you're overwhelmed,
- 11:19Speaker 1: whereas La County's biggest county in a country. It's spread out,
- 11:23Speaker 1: but it's the same problem. No law enforcement, none, and
- 11:28Speaker 1: so when you have that kind of anarchy, people feel
- 11:31Speaker 1: afraid because they shouldn't. And if you get in trouble
- 11:35Speaker 1: in La County, I don't know where you go. It's
- 11:40Speaker 1: not the cops. The cops they're good, but the judges
- 11:44Speaker 1: and the prosecutors won't bring the cases. So forty thousand
- 11:51Speaker 1: homeless drug addicts running around San Francisco, it's ruined the city.
- 11:55Speaker 1: You got to watch that, simone. It's really something. You
- 11:57Speaker 1: go to Bill O'Reilly dot com, just punch it right
- 11:59Speaker 1: up and there I am in the middle of the
- 12:02Speaker 1: tenderline district and I'll spell on it out for you.
- 12:05Speaker 1: It should never happen in America. Something like that should
- 12:09Speaker 1: never happen in this country.
- 12:10Speaker 2: Everybody should go to Bill O'Reilly dot com. Make sure
- 12:12Speaker 2: you watch the San Francisco special. Also you get the
- 12:15Speaker 2: TV show, the column. Make sure you watch the new
- 12:18Speaker 2: podcast We'll Do It Live, latest episode, Steve Sharipa and
- 12:22Speaker 2: Bill O'Reilly's YouTube channel, all great stuff. Make sure you
- 12:25Speaker 2: watch it all. And Bill O'Reilly thanks for being with
- 12:29Speaker 2: us all.
- 12:30Speaker 1: I appreciate it. Mark, thanks for having me all right.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Take care. I don't forget. Curtis is now here. Every morning.
- 12:36Speaker 2: It's Curtis Sliwa and Larry Mente now every morning six
- 12:40Speaker 2: to ten here on seven to ten WR
