- 0:00Speaker 1: Filling in for Mark. Here's Ken Rosatto and it's always
- 0:03Speaker 1: an honor to do so. A Happy Thursday to you.
- 0:06Speaker 1: And yes, I was the guy who was on TV
- 0:08Speaker 1: in New York for about a thousand years, back when
- 0:10Speaker 1: TV was a fake cardboard box and a little piece
- 0:13Speaker 1: of plastic and somebody would sit inside the box and say, Hello, Sunday,
- 0:17Speaker 1: we'll have a TV. I've Ket Rosato. And yeah, I
- 0:20Speaker 1: used to be on Channel seven. I was there for
- 0:22Speaker 1: twenty years. Yes, they literally built the station around my body.
- 0:27Speaker 1: I spent some time anchoring Good Day in New York
- 0:30Speaker 1: as well on Channel five. That was a good time.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Now I host a daily show on a New Jersey
- 0:35Speaker 1: based news channel. It is called on New Jersey. We
- 0:38Speaker 1: talked about that in the last hour. It's one of
- 0:40Speaker 1: these new streaming channels which is free to the public.
- 0:44Speaker 1: It's the next level. The next generation of television is
- 0:47Speaker 1: now this best. People cut the cord. They don't want
- 0:49Speaker 1: to pay for cable anymore. So these channels are called
- 0:52Speaker 1: fast channels, and they are free and you can get
- 0:55Speaker 1: them when you buy your like Samsung TV or Sony whatever.
- 0:59Speaker 1: They come with like a tho th channels that are
- 1:00Speaker 1: free that's one of the channels that I'm on on
- 1:03Speaker 1: New Jersey. You can also stream it on your phone
- 1:05Speaker 1: at ONNJ dot com. And I run a food website
- 1:08Speaker 1: for you, Foodiaes. If you're like me and you love
- 1:10Speaker 1: food and all things food, go to Thefooddude dot us.
- 1:15Speaker 1: It's one hundred percent free Thefooddude dot Us. Well, we
- 1:19Speaker 1: got a lot to talk about today. Our phone lines
- 1:22Speaker 1: are open. We'd love for you to call up take
- 1:24Speaker 1: part in the conversation today, and the number is always
- 1:27Speaker 1: is one eight hundred three two one zero seven ten
- 1:31Speaker 1: eight hundred three two one zero seven ten. Well, of course,
- 1:35Speaker 1: tonight is the big Mayl Debate. It's on Channel four
- 1:38Speaker 1: from seven to nine, and David Ushery is going to
- 1:41Speaker 1: be taking care. David is awesome, so he'll do a
- 1:44Speaker 1: great job. Love David works with him. In fact, when
- 1:48Speaker 1: I started at Channel seven, David had just left Channel
- 1:51Speaker 1: seven to go to Channel four, and I had only
- 1:54Speaker 1: met him a couple of times. But anytime we see
- 1:56Speaker 1: each other, he could not be a nicer guy. And
- 1:58Speaker 1: I know he's going to do great. So, of course
- 2:00Speaker 1: we have Curtis, Mom, Donnie and Andrew Cuomo. Tonight we
- 2:05Speaker 1: have a lot of people who are supporting Curtis. Even
- 2:07Speaker 1: though he's third in the polls, he still believes he
- 2:09Speaker 1: has that shot, and we keep our fingers crossed for him.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Jeanne MONDAMMI and Andrew Clomo believed that migrants should vote.
- 2:15Speaker 1: I say no. They of for no cash bail. I
- 2:17Speaker 1: say no. Mom Donnie in the meantime has his own beliefs,
- 2:21Speaker 1: of course, and he has not been secretive about it. Yesterday,
- 2:25Speaker 1: of course he was on Fox News Channel. They could
- 2:27Speaker 1: not nail him down on a few things. Here's Mom
- 2:30Speaker 1: Donnie talking about Andrew Cuomo.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Andrew, you had your chance to lead this state. You
- 2:35Speaker 2: took that time to sell out working class New Yorkers
- 2:37Speaker 2: to your billionaire donors, and instead of actually meeting the
- 2:41Speaker 2: needs of people who couldn't afford to live in the city,
- 2:44Speaker 2: you gave nine hundred and fifty nine million dollars in
- 2:46Speaker 2: tax breaks to Elon Musk And now you want us
- 2:48Speaker 2: to believe that we can't spend less money than that
- 2:50Speaker 2: to make every bus fast and free in the same.
- 2:52Speaker 1: City fast and free. First of all, buses can't be
- 2:55Speaker 1: fast because the roads are congested. As long as you
- 2:58Speaker 1: make bike lanes every They're ubiquitous in New York City.
- 3:02Speaker 1: You know streets that are supposed to be made for
- 3:04Speaker 1: vehicles and buy vehicles, I mean cars and trucks. You know,
- 3:09Speaker 1: liberals love their little bithickle Let's get a little bithickles jingchingching.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Even people on bikes can't get from point A to
- 3:16Speaker 1: point B quickly. We do need roads for things like
- 3:20Speaker 1: cars and trucks. I will never understand it. I have
- 3:23Speaker 1: relatives and friends who live in Manhattan, and they get
- 3:26Speaker 1: very manhattan centric and arrogant and selfish about it, and
- 3:29Speaker 1: they say, basically, they just want their street locked down
- 3:32Speaker 1: and shut down forgetting that. You know what, You still
- 3:34Speaker 1: have to get food delivered to the restaurants. You still
- 3:37Speaker 1: want your Amazon package delivered to you, but you don't
- 3:39Speaker 1: want any means for that. You don't want the roads
- 3:41Speaker 1: to be utilized by motor vehicles. Can't have it both ways, folks.
- 3:45Speaker 1: If you want to live in a three thousand foot
- 3:47Speaker 1: tall building and have twenty thousand people in that building,
- 3:50Speaker 1: somehow you have to get supplies to them, and you're
- 3:52Speaker 1: not going to get it with somebody walking in or
- 3:55Speaker 1: coming in with a donkey. Okay, that's not the way
- 3:57Speaker 1: it works. You need motor vehicles. And then, of course
- 4:00Speaker 1: Andrew Cuomo is going to be there tonight as well,
- 4:02Speaker 1: and I'm sure he'll have his opinions about his two
- 4:05Speaker 1: people he's running against.
- 4:06Speaker 3: Mister Mandami's plan for Rikers Island is either incoherent and
- 4:15Speaker 3: incompetent or diabolically manipulated.
- 4:22Speaker 1: It almost took twenty seconds for him to say diabolically manipulative.
- 4:30Speaker 1: I was talking to my almost ninety five year old
- 4:33Speaker 1: father the other day about this, God bless him, and
- 4:37Speaker 1: we were talking about the cadence of Andrew Cuomo's voice
- 4:41Speaker 1: and how Mario Cuomo rest his soul. And I had
- 4:44Speaker 1: met Mario Cuomo a number of times. Mario Cuomo kind
- 4:47Speaker 1: of had that unusual cadence, that strange accent, strange by us.
- 4:52Speaker 1: It's sort of the Queen's accent from the nineteen fifties,
- 4:56Speaker 1: which for those I'm like an accent nut. The Queen's
- 4:59Speaker 1: accent from the nineteen fifties has almost a Boston sound
- 5:03Speaker 1: mixed in with a strange slow case. So Mario Cuomo
- 5:07Speaker 1: sort of had that. Andrew Cuomo sounds like he's trying
- 5:10Speaker 1: to copy his dad. But going at one third the speed.
- 5:13Speaker 1: So you have this very slow cade. Thence Mark does
- 5:19Speaker 1: andrew much better than me. I'm not going to try
- 5:22Speaker 1: to keep going, but nonetheless, we'll see what happens tonight.
- 5:26Speaker 1: You have Zoron Mamdani in the polls leading by anywhere
- 5:29Speaker 1: from nine to eleven points right now, but who knows.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Hopefully people will watch tonight and they'll learn more about
- 5:36Speaker 1: what's going on, and also, more importantly, hopefully more people
- 5:40Speaker 1: come out and vote. Don't let the next mayor of
- 5:44Speaker 1: New York get decided on by about ten or fifteen
- 5:47Speaker 1: percent of eligible voters. That is just antithetical to our
- 5:51Speaker 1: democratic republic. Seven ten wore the Voice of New York.
- 5:56Speaker 1: It's Ken Rozotto. I'm in for Mark, and Mark will
- 5:59Speaker 1: be back tomorrow. For those wondering, Ken, we like you,
- 6:02Speaker 1: but get lost, we want Mark back. While I'm with you,
- 6:04Speaker 1: I like listening to the Mark two. I've tried my best,
- 6:06Speaker 1: so bear with me. We will take your calls at
- 6:09Speaker 1: eight hundred three to two one zero seven ten. Eight
- 6:12Speaker 1: hundred three two one zero seven ten. Well, now we
- 6:16Speaker 1: also have big news about the shutdown. The government shutdown.
- 6:21Speaker 1: The Senate held yet another vote yesterday. They're holding another
- 6:23Speaker 1: one today on whether to accept the continuing resolution to
- 6:28Speaker 1: reopen the federal government. Once again, the Democrats stood firm,
- 6:32Speaker 1: voting against the plan, thus keeping the government closed. So
- 6:37Speaker 1: when Marcus said this before, I've said this on my
- 6:39Speaker 1: show in New Jersey, this is the Schumer shutdown. Why
- 6:44Speaker 1: everybody in the House on the Republican side passed the
- 6:47Speaker 1: continuing resolution to continue the spending plan that was voted
- 6:51Speaker 1: on and approved by Democrats a year ago under Biden?
- 6:55Speaker 1: So why was it okay then? And we're only talking
- 6:58Speaker 1: about passing a continue resolution that will last a few
- 7:01Speaker 1: weeks so we can continue the debate for the new budget.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Why was it okay then when Biden was president? But
- 7:08Speaker 1: it's not okay now. Democrats huhm. It is a as
- 7:12Speaker 1: they call a clean bill, meaning it was exactly a
- 7:15Speaker 1: continuation of the existing budget, and Democrats won't vote for
- 7:20Speaker 1: that in the Senate. Remember, in the Senate, you need
- 7:23Speaker 1: sixty votes to pass a spending measure, not just a
- 7:26Speaker 1: simple majority. Republicans have the simple majority, but they don't
- 7:29Speaker 1: have sixty votes, and CHUCKI, Chuck Schumer is ensuring that
- 7:34Speaker 1: they will not give any votes to the Republicans to
- 7:39Speaker 1: pass this. It's not just the Republicans, CHUCKI Chuck, it's
- 7:41Speaker 1: to the nation. You complain for years that the very
- 7:45Speaker 1: thing we can have is a government shut down. Well
- 7:48Speaker 1: your party is causing it. This is the Schumer shut down.
- 7:51Speaker 1: So now Donald Trump has a middle finger back to
- 7:55Speaker 1: Chucky Chuck, saying that you know what the Gateway Tunnel product,
- 8:00Speaker 1: which is for billions of dollars and is going to
- 8:03Speaker 1: employ thousands of people in New York and New Jersey
- 8:06Speaker 1: for that matter. The Gateway Tunnel project was made possible
- 8:10Speaker 1: by a grant, a grant, not a congressionally approved amount
- 8:16Speaker 1: of money, but a grant signed in by President Biden.
- 8:20Speaker 1: And now that the government is shut down, President Trump
- 8:22Speaker 1: is the chief executive. He runs everything when Congress is
- 8:26Speaker 1: out because they're they're broke, right, the government's shut down.
- 8:29Speaker 1: So he has canceled the grant. He didn't say temporarily,
- 8:33Speaker 1: he said it's terminated, Chucky Chuck. This was something that
- 8:36Speaker 1: Chucky Chuck worked on for twenty years. This was going
- 8:39Speaker 1: to be what he left his legacy, and it's now
- 8:42Speaker 1: shut down.
- 8:43Speaker 4: Here was Trump yesterday, we're terminating those programs and they're
- 8:46Speaker 4: going to be terminated on a permanent basis, and it's
- 8:49Speaker 4: thousands of people, and it's you know, billions of dollars.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what it is. CHUCKI Chuck. So now his
- 8:55Speaker 1: legacy is mud okay, and we all have to suffer
- 8:59Speaker 1: for it. By the way, yes, we need that tunnel.
- 9:01Speaker 1: We had Mike oh Rasmussen from the Rebevision Institute at
- 9:04Speaker 1: Writer University on in the last hour. He's a friend
- 9:06Speaker 1: of mine, a political expert, and he pointed out that, yeah,
- 9:10Speaker 1: everybody's going to suffer because we need this tunnel. The
- 9:13Speaker 1: tunnel right now that connects New York and New Jersey
- 9:16Speaker 1: is what actually connects the entire Northeast Corridor for Amtrak
- 9:19Speaker 1: and all the other trains. And the tunnel is over
- 9:21Speaker 1: one hundred years old. The tracks are crumbling. We need
- 9:25Speaker 1: a new tunnel with new tracks and new technology. And
- 9:29Speaker 1: now it looks like we have a major setback. Do
- 9:31Speaker 1: not blame Donald Trump for it. You want to have
- 9:33Speaker 1: that track back, you got to open up the government,
- 9:36Speaker 1: Chuck E. Chuck, get your couple of Democrats in the Senate.
- 9:39Speaker 1: All you need is four or five Democrats to vote
- 9:41Speaker 1: along with every one of the Republicans except for one.
- 9:45Speaker 1: The one is Rand Paul. But every other Republican is
- 9:48Speaker 1: supporting this. Get to work and you could have your
- 9:51Speaker 1: money back in the meantime. Sorry, but it's going to
- 9:54Speaker 1: be shut down. Governor hokel all of shit about it
- 9:58Speaker 1: yesterday said this.
- 10:00Speaker 5: This is not sticking it to New York. This is
- 10:01Speaker 5: the Northeastern Corridor. To make sure that our tunnels are safe.
- 10:04Speaker 5: They're damaged by Superstorm Sandy. They're over one hundred years old.
- 10:08Speaker 5: We need to replace them because if this system of
- 10:11Speaker 5: transportation collapses, the Northeastern economy and economy the country collapsed.
- 10:16Speaker 5: So why be so shortsighted.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Well, maybe you could talk to Chucky Chuck Schumer about that, Kathy,
- 10:22Speaker 1: and get a couple of Democrats to support the continuing
- 10:25Speaker 1: Resolution to reopen the government and we could get it back.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Do not put the blame in the wrong place. This
- 10:31Speaker 1: lies strictly with the Democrats in the Senate. Eight hundred
- 10:36Speaker 1: three to two one zero seven ten, eight hundred three
- 10:38Speaker 1: to two one zero seven ten. You're listening to seven
- 10:41Speaker 1: ten wo R the Voice of New York. This is
- 10:44Speaker 1: Canrosatto in for the Great Mark Simone, Mister New York.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Mark has a day off, but he will be back tomorrow,
- 10:51Speaker 1: so you and I both get to listen to it. Hey,
- 10:54Speaker 1: are you a fan of the late Diane Keaton? Was
- 10:56Speaker 1: she not amazing? A wonderful actress? She had just such
- 11:01Speaker 1: a likable way about her and everything that she did.
- 11:04Speaker 1: And we now find out how she died. We find
- 11:06Speaker 1: out that it was from pneumonia at the age of
- 11:09Speaker 1: seventy nine. You'll recall she died last Saturday. May she
- 11:12Speaker 1: rest in peace and Mss Keaton, thank you. I was
- 11:16Speaker 1: a big fan. Thank you for the many years of
- 11:18Speaker 1: joy that you gave to so many people. Just a wonderful,
- 11:21Speaker 1: wonderful actress. Katie Porter remains absolutely cuckoo Kachew missus Robinson nuts.
- 11:29Speaker 1: That's the congresswoman from California who's running for governor of
- 11:32Speaker 1: the Golden State. While she sat down for another interview
- 11:35Speaker 1: and she could not confirm to the reporter that there
- 11:39Speaker 1: weren't more videos of her screaming, losing her cool and
- 11:43Speaker 1: being angry, the reporter asked her several times, can you
- 11:47Speaker 1: tell me right now that we will not find another
- 11:50Speaker 1: video of you popping up on the days ahead, And
- 11:53Speaker 1: she just said I've learned from my mistakes. I'm wrong,
- 11:58Speaker 1: I'm trying to do my b The answer is yeah,
- 12:01Speaker 1: there are probably tons of videos out there. Why because
- 12:03Speaker 1: she's crazy. She is crazy.
- 12:05Speaker 4: This is a.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Woman you could tell and boy, I'm going to give
- 12:08Speaker 1: you my dime store psychology here. This is a woman
- 12:12Speaker 1: who was never told no. This is a woman who
- 12:14Speaker 1: was never criticized by mommy and daddy, and you could
- 12:18Speaker 1: just tell she just got away. She was my daddy's
- 12:20Speaker 1: little princess and told that she could have anything she
- 12:22Speaker 1: wants because anyone who does anything around her that she
- 12:25Speaker 1: disagrees with, she just blows up.
- 12:27Speaker 4: At.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Her own husband divorced her, she dumped. According to the
- 12:30Speaker 1: divorce filing, she allegedly dumped boiling hot water with mashed
- 12:36Speaker 1: potatoes on his head, causing him to get scalded. Who
- 12:39Speaker 1: does that? I mean, even if you were seriously angry
- 12:42Speaker 1: at somebody, if you ever thought about taking a boiling
- 12:44Speaker 1: hot pot of something and dumping it on their heads,
- 12:47Speaker 1: who does this? She may have a very serious anger
- 12:51Speaker 1: management issue just based on the videos we've seen and
- 12:54Speaker 1: reading about that this is just not acceptable. Yet she
- 12:58Speaker 1: has a lead in the polls right now. In California
- 13:02Speaker 1: fifteen percent, granted, and there's a big pool of people
- 13:05Speaker 1: running for governor. It's not in this November's election, by
- 13:09Speaker 1: the way, it is next November's election. But the idea
- 13:12Speaker 1: that there are people in the Democrat Party who are
- 13:14Speaker 1: so crazy in California that they are still standing behind
- 13:17Speaker 1: her because as far as she's concerned, she can do
- 13:21Speaker 1: no wrong as far as they're concerned, I should say.
- 13:24Speaker 1: And while she is in the lead, there are other
- 13:27Speaker 1: candidates you people in California, you know, including other Democrat candidates.
- 13:31Speaker 1: By the way, although if you're a political junkie like me,
- 13:35Speaker 1: you probably would support Steve Hilton, the guy who used
- 13:38Speaker 1: to be on Fox News Channel. He's the guy with
- 13:39Speaker 1: the British accent. Super brilliant. He just became a US
- 13:43Speaker 1: citizen in the last few years, very proud to be
- 13:46Speaker 1: and he is very proud to be running for governor
- 13:49Speaker 1: of California. Remember Arnold Schwarzenegger was a man who was
- 13:52Speaker 1: a naturalized US citizen as well, and he was a
- 13:55Speaker 1: very successful governor there in the past. So we'll see
- 13:58Speaker 1: what happens. Steve Hilton's not too far behind. He's about
- 14:02Speaker 1: ten percent in the polls still have a year ago.
- 14:05Speaker 1: But throw your support behind somebody out there, hopefully somebody
- 14:08Speaker 1: on the right. Seven ten WR the Voice of New York.
- 14:12Speaker 1: This is Ken Risotto in for the Great Mark Simon
- 14:15Speaker 1: on your Thursday. Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten.
- 14:18Speaker 1: If you'd like to call in, we're going to take
- 14:20Speaker 1: calls next eight hundred three two one zero seven ten.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Beautiful sunny day today. Highs today in the upper fifties.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Time is eleven twenty one. Will be right back
