Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listen Saints Camp.
- 0:01Speaker 2: I am six forty the Bill Handles show on demand
- 0:05Speaker 2: on the iHeartRadio app. Last night was the debate, I think,
- 0:11Speaker 2: the first of the debate in a while, and we're
- 0:15Speaker 2: talking about the California Governor's debate, and as we've talked
- 0:19Speaker 2: about before, there were two Republicans and four Democrats. Numbers
- 0:23Speaker 2: are very important here because California has this really interesting
- 0:27Speaker 2: system in which the top two vote getters go to
- 0:31Speaker 2: the general election, notwithstanding who the party members are originally
- 0:36Speaker 2: passed because we are a super blue state. Well, this
- 0:40Speaker 2: time around, it turned out that four Democrats and two
- 0:46Speaker 2: Republicans and other Democrats are running like crazy and they're
- 0:50Speaker 2: going to cannibalize each other, which means the Republican Republicans
- 0:54Speaker 2: there's only two that are running or two Majors. Amy
- 1:00Speaker 2: was actually paying attention to this. Amy, your thoughts on
- 1:04Speaker 2: what you saw last night.
- 1:06Speaker 3: I think it was a lot of what we expected.
- 1:09Speaker 3: I don't think there were any big surprises. I do
- 1:12Speaker 3: think again this is I think this was the second debate.
- 1:15Speaker 3: There's another one at the end of the month, and
- 1:17Speaker 3: then there's another one that CNN's hosting in May. But
- 1:21Speaker 3: it just kind of gets you to see what their
- 1:24Speaker 3: positions are and what they're you know, their overarching belief
- 1:28Speaker 3: system is.
- 1:29Speaker 1: And so I thought I thought it was good.
- 1:31Speaker 3: I think it was interesting, But again I didn't think
- 1:33Speaker 3: that there were any huge surprises. But it was interesting
- 1:36Speaker 3: to see Matt Mahon, who was one of the newest
- 1:40Speaker 3: people to get into the race and he's gaining some traction.
- 1:44Speaker 3: And then you know with Steve Hilton and Chad Bianco,
- 1:46Speaker 3: the two Republicans, and how their views are similar but
- 1:50Speaker 3: they're trying to you know, differentiate themselves from it, although
- 1:55Speaker 3: that they agree on most stuff.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Yeah, and I really enjoyed the Democrats hitting each other.
- 2:01Speaker 2: For example, Tom Stier, former billionaire. No, he's a billionaire
- 2:06Speaker 2: hedge fund founder and he's now become a climate change activist.
- 2:10Speaker 2: He was attacked for being rich. He was attacked about
- 2:15Speaker 2: how he made his money. Okay, that's that's one, because
- 2:19Speaker 2: I guess in California there's something immoral about being rich.
- 2:23Speaker 2: And they do have a Republican Steve Hilton, as you mentioned,
- 2:27Speaker 2: he was painted his dilettante backed by President Trump, which
- 2:31Speaker 2: for a lot of people just saying that that's a no,
- 2:34Speaker 2: no Savior Bessera, former US Health and Human Services secretary,
- 2:40Speaker 2: was labeled a DC insider whose actions don't match his words.
- 2:46Speaker 2: A couple of things I found fascinating about that Styre
- 2:49Speaker 2: contributed one hundred and thirty three million dollars. It was
- 2:51Speaker 2: on campaign, one hundred and thirty three million dollars.
- 2:54Speaker 3: That's why you see all of those ads for Stier
- 2:57Speaker 3: and not for everybody else, because he's foot in.
- 2:58Speaker 2: The mill, you bet, and Californians do not like, for
- 3:02Speaker 2: some reason, people funding their own campaign.
- 3:05Speaker 1: They don't want rich people.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Look at Karen Bass, look at what happened with Huffington,
- 3:11Speaker 2: look at what happened.
- 3:13Speaker 1: What are the other billionaires they jump?
- 3:15Speaker 2: So yeah, Caruso paid for most of his campaign, and
- 3:20Speaker 2: so it went on and on. They well, they attacked
- 3:24Speaker 2: each other, and to your point, no surprises. But I
- 3:29Speaker 2: think the good chance that two Republicans are going to
- 3:33Speaker 2: be on the ballot, do.
- 3:35Speaker 3: You know that it is thinning a little bit because
- 3:37Speaker 3: Swallowell's out and then Betty Yee is out. So there's
- 3:40Speaker 3: four Democrats. And if you look at like what the
- 3:42Speaker 3: Democrats have up at least two to one majority over
- 3:47Speaker 3: Republicans in the state. So I mean, like what Bessarah,
- 3:52Speaker 3: not Besarah, but what Bianco and Hilton have.
- 3:56Speaker 1: That's all the Republicans.
- 3:58Speaker 3: Yeah, they can't get any more.
- 4:00Speaker 2: True, that's true. And the but you have depending on
- 4:04Speaker 2: how many are left. If some of the Democrats don't
- 4:06Speaker 2: bail out and support one or the other, you're going
- 4:11Speaker 2: to see that vote split.
- 4:13Speaker 4: What what the number of independence do we have in California?
- 4:17Speaker 4: Because that could go one way or the other. And
- 4:19Speaker 4: I think Porter will drop out sooner or later. She's
- 4:23Speaker 4: wholly unlikable as a human being.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Yeah, you really feel me and what ends up happening.
- 4:30Speaker 2: A lot of these people have such egos it is
- 4:34Speaker 2: hard for them to drop out and accept the fact
- 4:37Speaker 2: that someone else is more popular, even in light of
- 4:41Speaker 2: the ratings. Somehow, the ratings are going to change, The
- 4:45Speaker 2: numbers are going to change, The numbers are going to
- 4:48Speaker 2: change in their minds. So okay, I mean it's these
- 4:52Speaker 2: are politicians.
- 4:53Speaker 3: Well, via Ragosa said that when he was on with
- 4:55Speaker 3: John Cobalt last week, he was like, I know, I've
- 4:57Speaker 3: only got like two percent support, but that's going to change.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Yeah, it's well, you know what, there is a history
- 5:03Speaker 2: of starting with very small numbers and really increasing to
- 5:08Speaker 2: the point where you become a major player. Fidel Castro
- 5:11Speaker 2: did that in Cuba, for example. He started with very
- 5:16Speaker 2: small numbers and look what happened.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Right, you're comparing California to Cuba.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Now, great, well, that's not such a bad comparison. And
- 5:27Speaker 2: so this the top two vote getters were passed by
- 5:31Speaker 2: California to make sure that no Republicans were on the ballot.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Now it looks like it if it pans out for
- 5:39Speaker 2: the Republicans, it looks like no Democrats are going to
- 5:41Speaker 2: be on the ballot.
- 5:42Speaker 3: Oh could you imagine the hand ringing?
- 5:44Speaker 1: Oh, it would be It would be spectacular, It really would.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Okay, what happened yesterday during a Senate hearing, and this
- 5:54Speaker 2: has to do with r. F. K Junior appearing in
- 5:57Speaker 2: front of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Bill Cassidy, a Republican from Louisiana, chairs the committee and
- 6:09Speaker 2: RFK Junior, who cites studies and talks about medical positions,
- 6:14Speaker 2: goes against Bill Cassidy, who happens to be a doctor
- 6:19Speaker 2: and happened to run vaccine programs in Louisiana and is
- 6:24Speaker 2: a firm believer of vaccines. Well, they got into it
- 6:29Speaker 2: yesterday and Cassidy, well, he just nailed him. During the
- 6:36Speaker 2: afternoon hearing. Cassidy said the public's trust in vaccine has
- 6:39Speaker 2: worsened over the last year due to false statements, straight
- 6:42Speaker 2: out false statements, debunked studies that Kennedy produced, and that
- 6:50Speaker 2: was produced at the last hearing, and so Cassidy.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Looked it up straight out, He goes, Okay, I looked at.
- 6:56Speaker 2: The studies here it is debunkinked, false information, and of
- 7:02Speaker 2: course Kennedy disagreed. And what Kennedy's position has been is
- 7:08Speaker 2: real simple vaccines do not help. There was an issue
- 7:13Speaker 2: about measles, and the number of measles cases have increased,
- 7:20Speaker 2: have literally exploded, and therefore the issue is when vaccines
- 7:26Speaker 2: are used. The number of Beaesels cases dropped dramatically. No vaccines,
- 7:35Speaker 2: more measles cases, Yes, vaccines.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Legal fewer measles cases.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Kennedy said the drop in measles cases had nothing to
- 7:47Speaker 2: do with the vaccines. It was nutrition is what did it.
- 7:54Speaker 2: It was improvements in sanitation is what did it. And
- 7:59Speaker 2: he cited study that made his case, and as I said,
- 8:03Speaker 2: Cassidy went on to look at the study and in
- 8:07Speaker 2: the hearings said the Health Secretary had misrepresented the findings completely.
- 8:13Speaker 2: One of the things in terms of vaccines that Kennedy
- 8:17Speaker 2: had originally cited during hearings was based on a study
- 8:22Speaker 2: that was completely debunked. And the doctor who wrote the
- 8:25Speaker 2: study lost his license to practice medicine based on what
- 8:32Speaker 2: effectively was fraudulent information. And here is the issue for Cassidy,
- 8:39Speaker 2: and this is a real problem for him morally. He
- 8:42Speaker 2: was the vote that confirmed Kennedy if he had voted
- 8:48Speaker 2: the other way, And knowing what Kennedy was about, knowing
- 8:52Speaker 2: what Kennedy thought about vaccines, and what he got from
- 8:57Speaker 2: Kennedy during the course of the hearings was a promise
- 9:01Speaker 2: that he would not change the CDC's recommendation regarding vaccines.
- 9:06Speaker 2: He would not change any of the CDC's findings or reports.
- 9:12Speaker 2: And he straight out lied, straight out. And here is
- 9:18Speaker 2: Cassidy spinning. And I've often thought, and he was asked
- 9:23Speaker 2: this over and over again, do you regret that vote?
- 9:28Speaker 2: And he is dancing around that he has not said
- 9:33Speaker 2: I regret the vote. I voted wrongly. Why Because Kennedy
- 9:39Speaker 2: is a Trump appointee and Republicans don't go against Trump.
- 9:45Speaker 2: It's that simple. Why for fear of being primaried out?
- 9:49Speaker 2: Because Donald Trump has the power where he can, for
- 9:54Speaker 2: the most part, primary someone out, someone who has been
- 9:57Speaker 2: in office for a very long time. And if that's
- 10:00Speaker 2: if someone disagrees with the president, then the President goes
- 10:04Speaker 2: into that vote and tells his supporters vote this guy
- 10:08Speaker 2: out during the primary, not the general, because the President
- 10:12Speaker 2: can say all he wants about Republicans and that'll hold sway.
- 10:16Speaker 2: I mean in terms of Democrats, who's going to pay
- 10:18Speaker 2: attention to him?
- 10:19Speaker 1: Nobody?
- 10:20Speaker 2: And Cassidy is facing a primary challenge next month. Okay,
- 10:26Speaker 2: there's some politics. He's also He also pressed Kennedy on
- 10:29Speaker 2: the abortion pills, asking for an update on how the
- 10:32Speaker 2: Trump administration plans to address access to the abortion pill
- 10:39Speaker 2: and what RFK Junior has been pushing for is the
- 10:44Speaker 2: FDA put limitations on abortion pills, including reinstating that a
- 10:50Speaker 2: person who is asking for that medication has to have
- 10:54Speaker 2: an in person meet with the doctor. In person. Now,
- 11:00Speaker 2: I don't know if you've ever done tell a medicine.
- 11:02Speaker 2: I do tell a medicine all the time.
- 11:04Speaker 1: It's easy. I don't want to Park.
- 11:08Speaker 2: I tried to get a telemedicine colonoscopy. It was very difficult.
- 11:14Speaker 2: The doctor I was looking for cameras that I could know.
- 11:19Speaker 2: That's not true. Okay, so that was in person. I
- 11:22Speaker 2: got it. Physical exams are in person. But for the
- 11:25Speaker 2: most part, for example, prescribing the morning after pill, the
- 11:31Speaker 2: medication that's used in fifty percent of the abortion is
- 11:34Speaker 2: in this country, do you really need an in person
- 11:37Speaker 2: appointment with your doctor?
- 11:39Speaker 1: Of course not so.
- 11:40Speaker 2: What happens when you need an in person appointment and
- 11:43Speaker 2: you live in an area where the doctor is twenty
- 11:46Speaker 2: five miles away, and you're living in an area that's
- 11:50Speaker 2: very poor, and you have very difficult to have access
- 11:53Speaker 2: to go twenty five to thirty miles, Well, the problem
- 11:57Speaker 2: is that these women have a much harder time to
- 11:59Speaker 2: get the medication to the.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Point where they're not going to Now.
- 12:06Speaker 2: The President has claimed the US now offers, in terms
- 12:09Speaker 2: of drugs, the lowest prices in the world. Well, the
- 12:13Speaker 2: problem is these lowest prices, and this is a part
- 12:16Speaker 2: and parcel of the way the government is looking at
- 12:19Speaker 2: drugs vaccines in particular, these low prices in the world,
- 12:24Speaker 2: they're matched generics match them all over the place. Now,
- 12:27Speaker 2: some have worked, some the President has pushed others. It's
- 12:33Speaker 2: not the same or as cheaper someplace else. So while
- 12:39Speaker 2: the President is saying, yes, they're the lowest prices in
- 12:42Speaker 2: the world, Kennedy went down that road and said that
- 12:46Speaker 2: Trump r X and that's Trump's plan, how unusual named
- 12:50Speaker 2: it after himself offered major price reductions. That's what Kennedy insisted,
- 12:57Speaker 2: and ignored the fact that the US continues to pay
- 13:01Speaker 2: the highest prices in the world for prescription drugs by
- 13:04Speaker 2: a long shot.
- 13:05Speaker 1: But that's ignored.
- 13:08Speaker 2: That's not true because no matter what the stats say,
- 13:12Speaker 2: it's not true because I suppe that goes contrary to
- 13:15Speaker 2: what the administration is pushing and what the administration is pushing.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Of course RFK pushes and usually and other administrations. There
- 13:25Speaker 2: was a firewall that was independence of the CDC. Of
- 13:29Speaker 2: course those days are completely gone, all right. The president
- 13:35Speaker 2: has the support of Republicans and conservatives almost universally. I
- 13:40Speaker 2: mean the support is do I want to use the
- 13:43Speaker 2: word fanatic close. However, the one issue that is really
- 13:49Speaker 2: splitting the Republican party in many ways, it's the war
- 13:52Speaker 2: in Iran. The President has said as he was campaigning
- 13:57Speaker 2: that he would keep the United States out of or
- 14:00Speaker 2: in wars. I mean, that was a big promise and
- 14:04Speaker 2: a lot of conservatives relied on that, and all of
- 14:07Speaker 2: a sudden, where are we. We're in a foreign war,
- 14:10Speaker 2: aren't we. And you've got you've got well Democrats or
- 14:14Speaker 2: against them, no matter what. But you have Republicans that
- 14:17Speaker 2: are now looking at the president way, what the hell's
- 14:20Speaker 2: going on.
- 14:21Speaker 1: One of them is.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Tucker Carlson, who was probably one of the biggest supporters
- 14:26Speaker 2: that the President had, certainly during the campaign in twenty
- 14:30Speaker 2: twenty four, and now he is expressing remorse for supporting him,
- 14:36Speaker 2: saying he is will long be tormented by his role
- 14:40Speaker 2: in helping Trump return to the White House. Carlson, by
- 14:44Speaker 2: the way, a titan of conservative media, has broken with
- 14:49Speaker 2: Trump over the war in Iran, acknowledging he was part
- 14:53Speaker 2: of the reason this is happening. And as he said
- 14:57Speaker 2: in a podcast, it's not enough to say changed my
- 15:00Speaker 2: mind or this is bad, I'm out, he said, it's
- 15:06Speaker 2: a moment to wrestle with our own consciousness, conscience, consciousness.
- 15:12Speaker 2: He spoke with his brother Buckley, who is on the podcast,
- 15:17Speaker 2: and his brother was a former speech writer for Trump,
- 15:20Speaker 2: and Carlson went on to say, I want to say
- 15:24Speaker 2: I'm sorry for misleading people.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Now. He is an interesting guy.
- 15:28Speaker 2: He's a former news Fox News host, a longtime opponent
- 15:33Speaker 2: of American foreign interventions, particularly what happened during the Obama
- 15:38Speaker 2: particularly what happened during the Biden campaign. There's a lot
- 15:42Speaker 2: of people Democrats, some Democrats, and certainly Republicans who are,
- 15:47Speaker 2: needless to say, upset about how Biden was involved.
- 15:50Speaker 1: In foreign wars.
- 15:52Speaker 2: And Carlson has feuded over Trump and his allies for
- 15:57Speaker 2: now weeks over the war. He was particularly appalled by
- 16:01Speaker 2: the threat that Trump made to Iran on social media
- 16:05Speaker 2: on Easter Sunday that Iran would be living in hell
- 16:09Speaker 2: if it did not open the straight of horror moves.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Trump has said.
- 16:13Speaker 2: He would wipe out the civilization in Iran. It's that
- 16:17Speaker 2: that is a tough one, very very tough. By the way,
- 16:21Speaker 2: the straight of horror moves is still open, even though
- 16:24Speaker 2: there's threat after threat after threat. And remember is supposed
- 16:27Speaker 2: to be a peace deal. It's on the table, and
- 16:30Speaker 2: there's going to be a threat. We're gonna go to war.
- 16:32Speaker 2: We're going to attack Iran. A second time, tomorrow, this weekend,
- 16:36Speaker 2: next Wednesday, No, next Thursday.
- 16:38Speaker 1: No, We're gonna do it next week.
- 16:41Speaker 2: And it turns out the strait is still open and
- 16:43Speaker 2: nothing is happening. And now the peace talks have been
- 16:46Speaker 2: extended indefinitely, so Trump doesn't have to say next week,
- 16:51Speaker 2: next month.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Remember the war was supposed to be over in two
- 16:56Speaker 1: to four weeks.
- 16:57Speaker 2: Say it's week eight now, and the military in Iran
- 17:03Speaker 2: was obliterated. Well, maybe it wasn't obliterated, because now I
- 17:09Speaker 2: have to go after the military in Iran. The Strait
- 17:14Speaker 2: of Horn moves since, according to Caroline Levitt, the piece
- 17:22Speaker 2: the accord, the ceasefire is still in effect because no
- 17:26Speaker 2: American ships have been attacked. Go figure that one out.
- 17:31Speaker 2: But the bottom line is Carlson has really turned against
- 17:34Speaker 2: the president. And keep in mind, man, he was his
- 17:37Speaker 2: biggest supporters.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Now.
- 17:39Speaker 2: He was a Fox News. He was a commentator on Fox,
- 17:45Speaker 2: hugely watched, may have been the most popular one on Fox.
- 17:49Speaker 2: He was thrown out by Fox. Why Well, because Carlson
- 17:53Speaker 2: kept on talking about the steel, kept on talking about
- 17:57Speaker 2: this conspiracy that happened to have Joe Biden win the presidency.
- 18:03Speaker 2: And after Fox lost an eight hundred or settled for
- 18:07Speaker 2: eight hundred million dollars against Dominion voting machines because the
- 18:13Speaker 2: attack on Dominion straight out lies by the way, accusing
- 18:17Speaker 2: Dominion of doing crazy stuff, and Fox had to settle.
- 18:22Speaker 2: And he was at the forefront of those conspiracy theorist theories.
- 18:26Speaker 1: So he was taught tossed.
- 18:28Speaker 2: But now he has a hugely successful podcast and may
- 18:32Speaker 2: even have more influence over a conservative audience than he
- 18:36Speaker 2: had before.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Now are we going to see more of these?
- 18:39Speaker 2: Marjorie Taylor Green went the other way from Trump, and
- 18:42Speaker 2: now you have Tucker Carlson. I don't know how many
- 18:45Speaker 2: more we're going to see. The President still completely controls
- 18:49Speaker 2: the Republican Party, completely controls the completely controls the Republican Legislature,
- 19:00Speaker 2: the Senate, particularly the House. And you know what, can
- 19:04Speaker 2: I tell you, it's I think it may be tough
- 19:08Speaker 2: at some point. This is going to affect not the president.
- 19:12Speaker 2: The president is you know, he's a president. He'll stay president,
- 19:16Speaker 2: he can do this stuff he's going to do. The
- 19:18Speaker 2: Congress will let him do whatever he wants to do
- 19:20Speaker 2: until the midterms and then I think I think the
- 19:24Speaker 2: Democrats are going to take over the House in a big,
- 19:26Speaker 2: big way, and maybe even the Senate, which should stop
- 19:32Speaker 2: Trump from doing whatever he wants. Wakes up in the morning, goes,
- 19:36Speaker 2: I think I'm going to do tariffs this morning. Of
- 19:37Speaker 2: fifty percent Republicans back him up. You know, I've changed
- 19:42Speaker 2: my mind this afternoon. Let's make it sixty percent. Waking
- 19:46Speaker 2: up tomorrow morning, you know what, let's make it thirty
- 19:48Speaker 2: percent backing him, backing him, backing him. I think that's
- 19:54Speaker 2: going to change fairly dramatically. Now the issue of for
- 19:59Speaker 2: the most part, teenage boys doing wheelies on their e bike,
- 20:07Speaker 2: and I mean when wheelies, and I'm talking about they're
- 20:09Speaker 2: up on the back wheel, zipping down the street, middle
- 20:12Speaker 2: of the street, the sidewalk at forty fifty miles an hour.
- 20:16Speaker 1: That's illegal. You can't do that.
- 20:20Speaker 2: And that story really came to the forefront because you
- 20:24Speaker 2: have a young man, don't have his name, this is
- 20:27Speaker 2: a miner. His mother, Tommy Joe Meyer, has been charged
- 20:32Speaker 2: with allowing her son to do this after she was
- 20:36Speaker 2: warned that it is illegal. And this kid hit an
- 20:40Speaker 2: eighty one year old man who's fighting for his life,
- 20:43Speaker 2: crashing into him while driving the electric motorcycle and unfortunately
- 20:49Speaker 2: the eighty one year old is in critical condition, fighting
- 20:52Speaker 2: for his life, and she's looking at over six years
- 20:55Speaker 2: in stay prison according to DA Todd Spitzer. And she
- 20:59Speaker 2: was charged child in dangermin felony, accessory after the effect
- 21:03Speaker 2: to a crime after the fact to a crime, felony
- 21:07Speaker 2: contributing to the delinquency of a minor misdemeanor, providing false
- 21:10Speaker 2: information to a police officer.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Why is that?
- 21:13Speaker 2: Because she lied outright about the kind of e bike
- 21:19Speaker 2: that her son was driving under twenty miles an hour.
- 21:23Speaker 2: You don't need a license over twenty miles an hour.
- 21:27Speaker 2: You have to be licensed to drive a motorbike. This
- 21:30Speaker 2: kid was not. She lied about it. He hits an
- 21:35Speaker 2: eighty one year old man who's walking. And the wheelies
- 21:38Speaker 2: that these kids do is so dangerous. I see him
- 21:42Speaker 2: all the time. I see him all the time, just
- 21:45Speaker 2: zipping down the road the sidewalks just and I mean,
- 21:50Speaker 2: you know, it's a skill level. And they spend I
- 21:54Speaker 2: don't know how much time they spend learning how to
- 21:55Speaker 2: do this. What they don't do is spend time in school,
- 21:58Speaker 2: but they certainly spend time learning how to do wheelies.
- 22:01Speaker 2: And Neil was saying that in his neighborhood. This thing
- 22:04Speaker 2: has gone crazy with the e bikes.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Oh, you get a lot of them.
- 22:08Speaker 4: They have e bikes, and then they have these mini
- 22:10Speaker 4: bikes too that are like little motorcycles that I believe
- 22:14Speaker 4: are electric as well, and they're riding them all over
- 22:16Speaker 4: the place in groups. Sometimes you can see them thirty
- 22:20Speaker 4: forty to fifty deep on Sunset Boulevard. And then there's
- 22:25Speaker 4: times that I've seen them on the freeway on the
- 22:30Speaker 4: Hollywood Freeway, the one on one, and you'll see them
- 22:32Speaker 4: going on on the freeway for a couple of exits,
- 22:36Speaker 4: then they go off, but not street legal like that
- 22:40Speaker 4: in the slightest.
- 22:42Speaker 2: Yeap what Orange County DA Todd said, I'm going to
- 22:47Speaker 2: prosecute parents to the fullest extend of the law. As parents,
- 22:51Speaker 2: whether you like it or not, we're responsible for the
- 22:53Speaker 2: conduct of our children. And what she did is allow him,
- 22:59Speaker 2: maybe even encourage him to drive. Basically, what's a lethal weapon?
- 23:04Speaker 2: Non license? And Spitzer said, these things can go from
- 23:08Speaker 2: zero to sixty in two to three seconds. I mean
- 23:11Speaker 2: they move and they haul, and it's horrible to see
- 23:15Speaker 2: what happens.
- 23:16Speaker 1: They are looking to crash.
- 23:18Speaker 2: I mean literally, I'm driving down the street and it's
- 23:21Speaker 2: someone's passed me at sixty miles an hour in a
- 23:24Speaker 2: thirty five mile an hour zone. I say, okay, this
- 23:28Speaker 2: just question of time, and it's horrible, and I hope
- 23:33Speaker 2: parents get nailed on this.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Parents aren't getting nailed enough.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Her mistake was she denied that it was an e
- 23:40Speaker 2: bike of that kind, and it was, and she denied
- 23:45Speaker 2: everything else, and she contributed to his riding of the bike.
- 23:50Speaker 2: And she's looking at some felony, and she's looking at
- 23:53Speaker 2: the possibility of six years in jail. And you know
- 23:57Speaker 2: that Todd is going to go for the full six year.
- 24:00Speaker 2: And a judge may look at this and say, you
- 24:04Speaker 2: took an eighty one year old man out, substitute teacher,
- 24:08Speaker 2: Vietnam veteran who flew combat, and look what you did,
- 24:12Speaker 2: you little punk. And I hope I hope he. I
- 24:17Speaker 2: hope she gets nailed, and I hope he gets nailed.
- 24:20Speaker 2: But he's a minor, so not much is going to
- 24:22Speaker 2: happen to him.
