Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: It's your early Whatry prays party, I am Sherry Mackie.
- 0:04Speaker 1: It's time for today's word. Not disqualified. Your promise is
- 0:10Speaker 1: still waiting. Genesis fifteen and four says, then the word
- 0:17Speaker 1: of the Lord came to him. This man will not
- 0:20Speaker 1: be your heir, but a son who is your own
- 0:23Speaker 1: flesh and blood, will be your heir. When God gave
- 0:28Speaker 1: Abraham a promise that he and Sarah would have a son,
- 0:31Speaker 1: it didn't make sense in the natural. They were already
- 0:35Speaker 1: advanced in age, and as the years passed the promise
- 0:39Speaker 1: seemed more and more impossible. Time kept moving, but nothing
- 0:42Speaker 1: appeared to be happening, no sign, no progress, and certainly
- 0:46Speaker 1: no child. Eventually, like many of us do, they grew
- 0:51Speaker 1: tired of waiting, and instead of trusting God's timing, they
- 0:55Speaker 1: tried to make the promise happen in their own way.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Sarah suggested that Abraham have a child through her maid
- 1:04Speaker 1: servant Hagard. Well, of course, Abraham agreed, and a son
- 1:08Speaker 1: was born, but he wasn't the promised child. What followed
- 1:13Speaker 1: was tension, jealousy, frustration, and deep dysfunction. Relationships were strained,
- 1:20Speaker 1: emotions ran high. Mistakes were made that affected everyone involved.
- 1:25Speaker 1: From the outside, it looked like they had complicated the
- 1:28Speaker 1: situation beyond repair. You might expect that God would step
- 1:33Speaker 1: in and say, that's it. You've gone too far, you
- 1:35Speaker 1: made too many mistakes. But that's not what happened. In
- 1:40Speaker 1: the middle of their mess, come own Jesus, God reaffirmed
- 1:45Speaker 1: his promise In essence. He said, Abraham, I haven't changed
- 1:48Speaker 1: my mind. I still have your promise stored up. I
- 1:52Speaker 1: still have a son for you. That's the kind of
- 1:55Speaker 1: God we serve. He's not thrown off by our missteps.
- 1:59Speaker 1: He is not untold by our delays, our detours, or
- 2:02Speaker 1: our dysfunction. What He has promised over your life is
- 2:06Speaker 1: not canceled because of a wrong decision, a season of doubt,
- 2:10Speaker 1: or a moment of impatience. His promises are not fragile.
- 2:16Speaker 1: They are secure and at the whole point in time.
- 2:18Speaker 1: When Abraham was one hundred years old, as Sarah was
- 2:22Speaker 1: well beyond child bearing years, God did the impossible. Sarah
- 2:26Speaker 1: gave birth to Isaac, the promised child. It didn't happen
- 2:29Speaker 1: on their schedule, It didn't happen with our challenges, but
- 2:33Speaker 1: it did happen. Maybe you can relate you made some
- 2:37Speaker 1: choices you regret. You tried to force things instead of waiting.
- 2:41Speaker 1: You may feel like you've delayed your destiny or disqualified
- 2:45Speaker 1: yourself for what God promised. Here's the good news for
- 2:48Speaker 1: you today. Your mistakes did not cancel your promise. God
- 2:52Speaker 1: still has your healing stored up. Your breakthrough is still
- 2:55Speaker 1: on the way. Your dreams are not dead, they are
- 2:57Speaker 1: simply waiting for the right time. What God promised you
- 3:01Speaker 1: it's still valid, still active, and still possible. Your part
- 3:05Speaker 1: is to believe again. Your part is to trust again.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Your part is to hope again. Don't water down what
- 3:12Speaker 1: God spoke just because it hasn't happened yet. Don't give
- 3:15Speaker 1: up on what He placed in your heart. If God
- 3:17Speaker 1: said it, oh, he will bring it to pass. Oh
- 3:20Speaker 1: Father God, thank you. Thank you that You're not limited
- 3:23Speaker 1: by our mistakes or by what seems impossible to us.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Thank you that your promise is still standing, that you
- 3:30Speaker 1: are faithful to fulfill them. God, help us to trust
- 3:33Speaker 1: your timing and to believe again for what You've spoken
- 3:36Speaker 1: over our lives. We receive the truth that our blessings
- 3:39Speaker 1: are still stored up in Jesus' name. Now that's your
- 3:43Speaker 1: word for today, take it apply to your everyday life,
- 3:46Speaker 1: and you continue to be encouraged and inspired. It is
- 3:49Speaker 1: your ely what He prais party. I am Sherry Mackie
